anyway yes my favourite subject, Roona <3 <3

her queenly name, Nadira, is not her family name. lots of queens change it bc of tradition or to make sure their family doesn't get doxxed (lmao rip), and she's kind of leaning on the former reason. her relationship with her family is not the greatest. they weren't bad, but they weren't... good. when she moves off to Theed to become a handmaiden, she mainly cuts contact, save for holidays/birthdays/etc. Otherwise, they all forget they exist.

Uhh yeah she's an introvert and not very people-oriented. She's been that way since she was little. Later it just grew into depression--dysthymia to be exact. She's managing it--it's become so much a part of her life that it's just There. it sucks. but it's There. she knows how to deal with it.

ALSO I did mention she uses hearing aids and a cane but I did miss out on some stuff. Okay so the cane is for balance and weakness. But those two aids were thought up AFTER the first one, which i forgot to mention. The reason I'm drawing clothes less detailed and ornate than most queens is because she has a central line. she and her staff have to be able to access it easily. Sometimes she risks it for more formal events, but otherwise, she tries not to restrict herself in bulky clothes that are not easily removable. She's got a chronic illness, which is why she uses it but. I dont know what it is. Because initally i was like "oooh new space illness" but then i did NOT bother to ever expound upon that. i still haven't. i dont know what this new space illness is. maybe i never will. she has it tho xoxo

if sonic boom wont give me the rest of team dark then i'll do it myself!!!!!!!

lately ive been thinking about how boom would implement all the characters that weren't included in the show and UGRHHHH.. THEY'VE BEEN ROTTING MY MIND. especially team dark they'd be sooo silly and rouge would tease shadow to death i think.

for rouge i literally smashed together all of her outfits (her usual one, heroes and a teeeeny bit of the elite agent one) but she's solely a treasure hunter!! Maybe an ex agent but she definitely isn't working for anybody at the moment (i like to think sticks is onto her and how she's totally a government spy)

omega!!!!!! since shadow was never taken and sealed away by eggman in boom i felt like omega's reasons for going against his own creator had to be WAY more geared towards him feeling like he's being held back and disregarded despite his capabilities. like maybe he was used for chores or something stupid despite looking and being built like an absolute tank (eggman just got carried away designing him) and he decided what the fuck!! i dont want to do this for you anymore!! honestly his story is still a huge work in progress so URGHH (also BOO blue eyed omega). i really REALLY tried to make him resemble boom eggman's robots so hope that worked

BUT YEAH!! they both definitely need a little more work done on them (still have zero clue on rouge's colour pallete). ALSO, with this au (au????? im gonna call it an au) i really want to keep the light-hearted and overall really stupid atmosphere of the show, like as much as i am a sucker for angst i seriously have NO clue how the hell im gonna deal with shadow's past. i also have some ideas for silver, espio and charmy too so might design them if i get the time!!! then again i always start these things then do ONE post and never come back to it (sooo guilty of this)

iv ben building trans charlie n my head fr, like i said, nearly 10 years. i used to view him as cis bcuz i always try to take as much frm th source material as i can wen i craft my HCs nd i had v personal (stupid) hangups insofar as him explicitly referring to his junk multiple times nd bottom surgery simply not being on my radar as a naive littl trans idiot deep in th sauce tht transmen oftn fall into w phallo being viewed so so poorly

evn still i leaned towards transmasc charlie nd always lovd moments tht let me imagine, for a moment, it being true, like his discomfort w taking off his shirt [hundred dollar baby, charlie kelly: king of the rats, the gang exploits the mortgage crisis, young charlie and mac deleted scenes, etc etc etc], or bonnie yelling abt ppl stealing her "charlie-girl" [the waitress is getting married] which i lovd to see as her accidentally misgendering him while drunk off her ass.

having grown out of my phallo issues (nd if ur reading this and u still view phallo super poorly, please do some research and grow too), ive in recent years fully subscribed to transmasc/nb charlie, and view his timeline something like this:

middle: puberty hits and charlie gets confused and scared. bonnie puts him on blockers w.o explaining them ("my mom used to vaccinate me like every month" [the gang gets quarantined]) charlie goes on content and oblivious. STP acquired because hes "a late bloomer" and his dicks still not growing in?? weird. confides this in mac once, but he doesn't understand.

high: charlie finally registers that he's trans after forgetting theres a health class 1 day and not being able to skip it. throws him for a loop a bit but he becomes actively invested in his goals. he gets to start T and wants to have surgeries. "what guy hasnt done some extensive research on his own genitalia?" [mac is a serial killer]

college (aged): able to surgically transition (ty medicare) and continues on with life as we kno him now

joyce, imo, fits neatly into these views.

as a transmasc nb who came out young nd prefers to be seen as just A Guy by strangers, i grew up v vehemently against anything girly that might get me misgendered, but th more i began to 'pass,' th more @ home n my body i felt, th more and more comfortable i am w femininity, th more i wdnt mind putting on a dress, as long as th general public wd see me as "a man in women's clothes." n my mind, i prescribe something not exactly th same but v similar to charlie.

i see charlie "i dont really identify" kelly as afab and nb. i see joyce as a "character" he originally created to distance himself from the dysphoria of putting on a dress as a young trans boy, but that became part of him as the hard lines he drew in the sand as a child became blurry with age and self acceptance. charlie's comfort with himself allows joyce to evolve into a more solid persona, one he enjoys embodying and allowing to become a permanent facet of who he is. he's ok with being referred to as either. they're both him.

so maybe joyce comes out a bit more outside of the bathroom now.

now if you consider gerards character i truly feel as though thats the deepest disservice here. gerard keay is an incredible character whos short appearance is so memorable and charming, and despite his VERY little screen time he still has an intriguing and well fleshed out character. really, gerard keay is so excellent character wise. But, every time i think about him for any more than 5 minutes, almost this exact rant is being told to whoever is unfortunate enough to be near me at the time.

another thing i think also really adds to this is just the nature of gerard keay. everything you can say about that guy could be ended with “and everone calls him jared for some reason”. hes emo and everyone calls him jared for some reason. his hair dye job is so miserable that EVERYONE mentions it and everyone calls him jared for some reason. he has mommy issues and everyone calls him jared for some reason.

this is soooo insanely late im so sorry anon ive had sooo much going on skmfkg... BUTTTT ur a geniussss omg. i hope i did ur idea justice ! i think reader is definitely the type to fake being completely clueless about surfing just to get a little extra hands on time with abby.

it's not like you're a prodigy or anything, you really only know the absolute bare minimum— how to stand up and how to balance for a few seconds, but it's not like you're able to do either of those things for long on an actual wave.

abby had offered to teach you the basics one night, and who were you to tell her no? she'd started her lessons with you on the sand, instructing you on where to put your hands and your feet on somewhere solid ground before she took you into the water. her hands on your waist, arms, and occasionally your legs to help you position yourself better. it had all been apart of your master plan, but that doesn't mean heat hadn't risen to your cheeks at every touch and little "there you go. i knew you could do it." that leaves her mouth.

after about a half an hour of teaching you on the sand, she finally decides to take it into the water. "it's probably gonna be a bit harder in the water, but i know you'll pick it up in no time." she says, an encouraging smile on her face. her unwavering support almost makes you feel bad.

almost.

you paddle out just a bit into the water with her swimming alongside you. "alright. why don't you try standing up?" she says, swimming back just enough to give you space.

you already know how to do this. palms on the board, push yourself up in something that resembles a plank, bring your back foot forward so it's aligned with your knee, then bring your other knee forward to rest in between your arms, and stand.

you do it easily, not struggling in the slightest. you turn to look at abby, wondering why she's quiet instead of cheering you on for getting it on your "first try". you're met with her staring at you— brows furrowed, eyes flickering with amusement, and the corner of her mouth tilted up in the beginning of a smile.

"what?" you ask.

"you've known how to do this the whole time haven't you?"

"miss anderson, im afraid i don't know what you mean."

"a pretty girl being so obsessed with me that she has me teach her things she already knows how to do, just so she can spend a little time with me? and i thought my ego couldn't get any bigger." the tilt at the corner of her mouth has morphed into a shit-eating grin.

her ego really can't get any bigger, but she'd be lying if she said her heart didn't feel like it was about to start beating out of her chest right now.

"oh you little—" you start, but before you can finish your sentence she's pushed you off the board and into the water.

you don't immediately pop back up, which causes her to worry. just when she's about to call your name, she feels your hands grip her legs and pull her underwater.

she opens her eyes to look at you under the water, and though you can't make many facial expressions because you're trying to hold your breath, she doesn't miss the amused look in your eyes.

she tries to swim back up, but your legs have locked around hers in an effort to keep her under. she points up the surface and you shake your head, tapping yourself on the arm as if to say 'tap out and i'll let you go.'

her stubbornness level is high right now but her need to take a breath is even higher, so she taps your arm and you immediately let go.

she swims up first and you're right behind her. both of you inhale largely when you reach the surface, but that's followed up by both of you breaking out in laughter.

your hands are on each other's arms and shoulders, an unconscious gesture that can only be chalked up to a mutual 'i'm okay. are you okay?' you don't realize just how close your faces are to each other until the laughter dies down, and suddenly you're both very serious.

the moment is perfect. the moon is full and bright tonight, the water is calm, and there's nobody on the shore. abby doesn't know whether you're going to kiss her or she's going to kiss you. when she sees that you look incredibly nervous she decides to take the reigns, lips pressing against yours.

it's not an overly long kiss nor is there anything sexual to it, it's soft and intimate and it causes both of your hearts to pound against your chest. and it's enough for both of you to realize just how much you both like each other without going too fast all at once.

"you know," you say as the two of you part. "i think you're a major hypocrite."

"how so?" she asks, voice filled with amusement.

"maybe i did lie today to spend time with you, but that was just once." her brows furrow a bit as you push yourself away from her just a little bit. "at least i haven't been paying for smoothies i don't like just because the pretty worker recommended them."

you don't wait for her reaction and immediately start swimming back to the shore, completely oblivious to the way she's staring at you in disbelief.

'son of a bitch...' is her final thought before she starts swimming after you.

i had a boyfriend when i was 16 who i was totally in love with but i grew up ultra religious and so was he and ultimately i didn’t want to live that same lifestyle so we broke up as a result of different beliefs

i was probably secretly in love with my childhood bestfriend for most of my teens we grew up competing and doing gymnastics together and i literally loved her more than any human being but we weren’t meant to be dating, i think cause we grew up as friends it was a little bit harder to transition like that and for us it wasn’t meant to be but every once in a while we hook up and we like it that way

when i was around 19 i fell head over heals for my first proper girlfriend (she was hot as fuck and the best sex ive ever had) but she was a manipulative bitch who emotional fucked with me so much lol (told me i should quit my passions, body shamed me, used my childhood trauma against me, got me addicted to drugs, etc) and it took a lot of therapy and my friends telling me she was a psycho to end that relationship

since then i’ve been in a couple of very lose relationships but i’m ultimately not looking for a commuter relationship rn especially because of my work atm sooo casual sex for me ✌️

ive always wanted to talk a bit about how i feel about the connection between Yukari and Merry because i love the endless parallels and thematic connections (like everyone else on the planet 😁), but wondering if it was ever 'worth' it since i may just be spouting a lot of what is already considered 'common knowledge' among hifuu aficionados. Not to mention i think my thoughts on it are somehow both really messy but also crystal clear. 😐 Well whatever! Its my own head anyway so i'll try not to worry and am gonna attempt to elaborate even if just a little on this post, which may not be entirely coherent due to sleepy, post-medicine fatigue.

i feel like over the years i may have started to become reflexively more 'against' yukari = merry fandom, although 'against' is probably too strong and its much more complicated than just "i dont subscribe to that theory" because thats not even entirely accurate!

it is of course a classic and really cool idea of the Merry one day becoming Yukari has been and continues to be thoroughly explored by many many fans for moving, tragic, bittersweet, or thought provoking work. I love Absolute One-Way Street, and also Dream and Reality among many other works like it 📖

but i also think its a little stiffling to think of that as the one and only story to tell about them? Now its possible that the sentiment im about to express isn't actually common and im actually just making up a person to respond to, but i think taking the teasing connections between Yukari and Merry and treating the idea of them being the same individual as the absolute obvious truth is a bit of a limiting perspective.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions and headcanons! but i want to make a case that when it comes to touhou and especially hifuu in particular, there's also a richer (and possibly deliberate on the author? who knows!) point to treat it more abstractly.

Maybe they are the same person. Maybe one day Merry becomes Yukari, or Yukari becomes Merry. Maybe they're different people. Maybe they come from the same lineage. Or maybe one is a clone of the other grown in a lab or made with a magic spell.

None of that is as important to me as the the roles they serve in their stories. touhou has always had themes about the gap and the bridge between fantasy and reality by taking place in a world where fantasy seeks refuge from reality, and hifuu goes much further in that theme by taking place in a reality that has completely left behind fantasy. That parallel is really cool to me and its embodied perfectly by both stories having a purple-clad blonde girl with the means to poking their toes into the boundary between fantasy and reality.

In the fantastical world of touhou, one serves as gensokyo's powerful (if frustrating, shady, annoying, disagreeable) protector with allies that she watches over (and sometimes manipulates) with her great power, all to preserve their little wonderworld. And I think its sooo compelling how zun introduced hifuu in the music cds and designed a very similar-looking character, who lives in a stifled reality lacking in imagination, mostly spends her day chasing after even the smallest traces of dreams with a partner whose own small logical world expanded with infinite possiblities upon their meeting...

In the last few cds, Merry's powers may be growing stronger and i get why feeds the implication she's becoming something other than human. But my take on that has always been its more of a sign that she and Renko are already outliers in their world simply for daring to believe there is more to the world beyond facts and logic. I dont expect their story (assuming zun ever brings them back. we havent heard what theyre up to since 2016....) to ever end with both or either of them becoming a youkai or vanishing to gensokyo, because frankly that wouldn't serve any purpose for the themes hifuu has been about, which is embracing fantasy while living in a world that has abandoned it.

trying to remember what my point with this post is.... Oh right its that I think all these themes about the nature of gensokyo or the state of reality in hifuu are only made richer when you think about how they contrast with one another. And by extension, I think Yukari and Merry are both richer if you think of them as conceptual and thematic counterparts in two different stories on the opposite end of a similar spectrum, before thinking about what literal or objective connection they might have. Subjectivity definitely means more than objectivity in this case!

Introducing My Lioden Pride!

I thought I should do a post like my Wolvden Pack intro post sooo, here's a post introducing all the lions i have in Lioden currently!

Despite the fact that you cant name your Pride in Lioden, just kno that the Pride's name is "The Flowering Pride" bec I think it fits!!!

For those who want to know who I am on Lioden: My King's name is "ManzanitaFlower" and my player name is ClownCryptids ! my user number is #428617

Some basic info on how I've been playing so far:

Ive decided on a flowers and plants theme for my lions' names, I like the idea that Kings and males have tree names and Lionesses have mostly flower names with a few other plants mixed in! Also I think it would be fun for all kings to get "Flower" added to the end of their names when they become king!

Like in Wolvden, I don't really care about how "rare" a lion's genetics are, I just like the ones that are pretty! Though Lioden has some pretty cool mutations sooo, I will probably be going after some pretty rare lions :P

Now onto the Lions!

This is the king I chose, I liked his red the most, he's very boring tho... But I finally got that male I really wanted and he's the heir now!

He's Malicious bec I always choose to fight ppl... In my defense I need the exp and money.

Mangrove! A Primal and very cool lookin!! I love his mane color!!! Im also very happy I found a Primal male at such an affordable price!!

Onto the Lionesses!

This is Fuchsia! Her spots are so pretty!

And these three are Amaryllis, Orchid and Dahlia! SO Beautifull!!

This is my first lioness Foxglove... I will probably eventually get rid of her but she's at a pretty good level now soooo Im keeping her for now :P

This is Hyacinth! I bought her for an affordable price when I needed more lionesses! She's quite pretty too! She is also watching over my son <3 (should I name my little Serval son? if so what should his name be?? I kno he's just décor but I love himb)

Next up we have Honeysuckle! Beautiful Primal lady! who was gifted to me by @fen-of-fools <3

And last but not least is Dymondia! she has such cool markings!! and she was a gift from @gay-noodle-clan !

Now onto the teens!

These are the sisters Nemesia and Iris, they are so gourgous!!! I bought them along with a male in the same trade, I sold the male for more space tho... still a bit salty abt that tho bec I forgot to take off his decor before selling him T-T

Also their trade was only 85 SB???? what was up with that?? are they really only worth that much? They r so pretty!!

Also also my albino serval hanging with Nemi <3 should I name my serval to?? (ps. he was also a gift! from @iamearthy !)

aaand Moss and Carnation! these two are cubs I got from the Giving Tree! I really love Moss.. she's evil and I really want to have a evil pose for her one day...

This is my only cub, Thyme (other than the one Foxglove had but im selling that as fodder lol), I also got her from the Giving Tree!

here's her as an adult to show off her markings a bit better! (she kinda reminds me of my Brindleface design hehe)

YAYY OK SO. (side note i only just came up with this today so its not THATt fleshed out but ive been thinking about it like all day so i have many ideas)

so like. it all starts w vanessa. basically when she was really young her parents worked for fazcorp technologies (au equivalent of oscorp) and idk. they die for reasons related to their work there. Who knows whatever its really not important to the au. anyway so vanessas parents r dead now and she moves in with her aunt and uncle in typical spider-man fashion ykyk. eventually shes grown up and when shes in college shes becomes an intern at fazcorp technologies' lab. at the end of her internship she secretly goes to the main room where theyre genetically modifying animals. i guess shes curious bc thats what her parents had been working on before they died. she mainly notices the giant tube of spiders they were working on and she ends up walking right up to the spiders, to take a look and as she gets really close, one crawls on her and bites her. she didnt realize she got bit but thats what makes her get out of there. Anddd thats how nessa becomes spider-van (working name) :3

shes the citys 1 and only spider-van for maybeee 4 years after that point? she graduated just a couple of months after grtting spider powers. also she lives with tape girl btw and they were roommates in college too. after like the first year tape girl (i havent named her yet siiighh) finds out ness is spidervan and she basically becomes her tech assistant. her girl in the chair if u will

anyway so ness has been spidervan for 4 years at this point. and then theres gregory who is just some guy rn :3 hes not spidey yet . one day he and cassie r on a class field trip to the fazcorp tech lab and they get bored so they sneak off and end up in a room with a bunch of different genetically engineered spiders in their own little boxes but one of them is Not in the box bc ig aomeone forgot to close it. andd it bites gregory and greg feels it but he doesnt see it but cassie DID see it and they start freaking out . its kinda funny. andthey do not take him to a hospital nor tell anyone bc they r dumb teenagers and he "feels fine" . so whatevsss they sneak back to where everyone else was on the field trip. andd then they just go home like nothing happened. until the next day when suddenly gregs spider powers manifest and cause HELL at school. yada yada he now has powers and no clue what hes doing with them

ANYWAY SOOO soon enough something happens and gregory meets spider-van by pure chance and she realizes that somehow this kid has pretty much the same powers as her (they got bit by different kinds of spiders so theyre not identical powers) and she offers to teach him how to control his powers so theyre not messing things up all over the place which turns into a mentorship of sorts and that evolves into him becoming a hero right with her ^_^

fun little heroic spider duo adventures ensue from then on. saving the city and such. UHH THATS ALL FOLKS!! ok well thats all i can think of to say for now. thats all [the relevant background information] folks!!
