the song Miles and Chessa sing for Lydia and Ayden at their wedding:
'Cause lovers dance when they're feeling in love Spotlight's shining. It's all about us It's oh, oh, all About uh, uh, us And every heart in the room will melt This is a feeling I've never felt But it's all about us

Lovers Dance When They're Feeling In Love || Aydia Wedding OS
I'll have to wholeheartedly admit at the beginning of this story that I was probably the worst Bridezilla anyone had ever heard of. Okay, maybe I wasn't too bad. I did have a good bridal party to keep the sense knocked into me: Chessa, Rhian, and Miles' sister Harmony. There were a couple screeching matches in the planning but they always knew when to pull out the wine for me.
We had a relatively small wedding, but a grand party of the scale everyone knew I'd want to throw. We invited everyone from the Games to come, of course, and all their kids and spouses too. By the time we were married, everyone was making babies and our wedding reception had a mile-long kids' table.
"She's ready," my mother said eventually, and turned me in my chair to face not one man, but two. Not only my father would walk me down the aisle, but Miles was there in his tux ready to accompany me too. He'd asked my father before he asked me, and I nodded vigorously. Miles was like the older brother I'd never had, it only made sense he'd walk me down before going to join Ayden at the front.
The entire Winsted family was in the wedding- Hope and Grace were our flower girls and little Callum their ringbearer. Miles was full of teasing about how I was his flower girl when they'd renewed their vows and I blushed a little, sticking my tongue out at him playfully.
Before I knew it we were sending the triplets out to walk down the aisle, preparing it for me to walk down. I took a deep breath, nervous but excited. I gently took my father's arm, then Miles'. "You look beautiful, pixie," he said softly. I beamed up at him, our bond just as close as when I was just a child.
As the little girls disappeared around the turn toward the altar, I took a deep breath as Miles and my father guided me down the aisle. My fingers squeezed Miles' arm tightly as we rounded the corner and I saw Ayden. He looked terrified but as soon as our eyes met his face broke into a smile and I could see tears in his eyes. I wanted to sprint down and throw myself around him but I held back, savouring the moment.
Soon I was there, and my father kissed my cheek and let go of my arm before Miles leaned down to bridge the height difference as he kissed my other cheek gently, handing my hand over to Ayden's as I stepped up to join him and the officiant, a family friend of Ayden's mother.
"We are gathered here today to witness the union of Lydia and Ayden in marriage. I'm sure you'll all agree that they are the true definition of 'opposites attract'." The crowd chuckled but I just beamed up at him, my eyes shining with pure joy and adoration.
The ceremony was standard- not religious, but full of meaning. When it came time for vows, I took the little paper I'd given to Chessa to hold and unfolded it, reading what I'd written, but after a moment I didn't need to look down. I spoke from the heart.
"Ayden, I can't even put into words how much I love you... We've been through so much together, you and I. And... I can't imagine my life without you. I'm so thankful you always came back to me. And now, we have... we have forever," I said softly, my voice choking up with tears. "And I can't wait to spend every single second of the rest of my life reminding you that you are so, so loved." I kept it short and sweet, but I don't think I could've said more without choking up.
Ayden cleared his throat, stuttering a little in front of the crowd. "I-I... Lydia, I love you. I can't tell you how thankful I am that I know you... you saved me even when I didn't think there was any hope left... I just want to love you and cherish you every day for the rest of our lives. You're just so... wow," he admitted, his cheeks flushing and the audience chuckling.
In a matter of minutes we had rings on our fingers and the man pronounced us "Mr. and Mrs. Ayden Bowan," and suddenly Ayden's lips were on mine and I threw my arms around him, kissing him eagerly. The reception that followed was fun, with dancing and all our friends and family. Of course, we had to traditionally cut the cake- I couldn't resist shoving a bit of cake in Ayden's face after he gently fed me my piece but was on him in seconds, kissing away the frosting on his nose.
And, after a ton of bribing which involved me and Ayden being on complete speed dial to take on his and Chessa's little rugrats anytime he asked, Miles sang at our wedding. Well, he sang with Chessa, she'd agreed to duet with him. I'd not stopped teasing him about "not singing" since the very first day we'd met, and finally, with Chessa at his side, he begrudgingly sang for us as Ayden twirled me around the floor. I saw the way he looked over at Chessa, as if he was remembering their own night and singing for her just as much as us, and I hoped we could have a love that strong.
But the best part of the night was our first dance. It was to our song, the same one Chessa had sang to me back in the Capitol and the one I'd sang in turn to Ayden at the ball that night. He pulled me in close as we danced and I admired my sparkly ring and his simple gold wedding band as they shone next to each other on our joined hands.
"Forever," he whispered softly.
"Forever." I agreed, echoing the word back.
"Mrs. Bowan," he whispered softly, kissing the tip of my nose. "I like the sound of that." I nodded, pulling myself closer to him still.
"Me too."
It was the perfect day.

it's delicate. it's light. it's the exact ring that Ayden would choose and it fits my personality too. a huge stone isn't my thing. this is. this little diamond stands the tests of time. just like we have.

Will You Marry Me? || Proposal OS
7 years after the Games…
I shuffled around the living room with the ring in my back pocket and it was almost Lydia’s and she was almost going to be my fiancee which would mean she was almost going to be my wife and I shouldn’t have been this nervous despite my talk with Miles.
He’d told me that there was no way she could say no; that there was no one else to say yes to, yet there was still the knot in my stomach that she’d been keeping something from me all this time. Although we weren’t still in Candor, she wouldn’t lie to me, right? I would hope she wouldn’t. I couldn’t remember a time she’d lied to me, and she’d better not start now.
The sound of the door opening snapped me out of my trance and I stopped pacing in an instant, wiping my already sweaty palms on my jeans. Miles had told me to just breathe, but every nerve in my body was wired with adrenaline.
"Lydia. There’s something I wanted to ask you."

Liquid Courage || Post Boys-Night OS
Two years after the Games...
I'd spent the night at home after Ayden had gone out with the boys. I giggled to myself at the petrified look on his face as Fabio and Dorian guided him out the door. I'm sure he was having fun. My parents had gone out for the night and I was reading, flopped on my couch with a tv show on in the background. Nights like these I felt like I truly lived alone.
Suddenly I heard a jiggling of the doorknob and I stood, cautiously approaching the door. I opened it to find Ayden, a drugged smile on his face and something dripped all over the front of his shirt. I raised my brow, happy to see him but confused as to why his hair was all mussed.
"Christ, what did they do to you?" I asked, sending a glare to Fabio who waved teasingly as he stumbled out of the driveway.
Ayden giggled and hiccupped, letting me guide him back into the house. "Fabio and *hic* Dorian and the boys took me out tonight... but now I wanna take you out for a little somethin'-somethin'..." I burst out laughing, shutting the door behind us.
"Oh, you're a mess, aren't you..." I turned for a cloth from the counter, dampening it and dabbing at the stains on his shirt. "This is going to take ages to get out, what did they do, dump beer down your shirt? Where did you go?" Ayden shrugged, leaning against the counter and pulling me in by the waist as I tried to clean him up.
"Fabio bought me some drinks... I didn't want to drink and then suddenly I was drinking and now I don't remember..." his words slurred and I couldn't help but giggle, it was adorable. Suddenly he got a devilish glint in his eyes and pulled me close, lifting me onto the counter and moving in to kiss me roughly.
I wasn't used to it, it took me by surprise, but I drowned in it, dragging him closer with my arms wrapped around my neck and letting him lead the kiss. He pushed his tongue into my mouth and I gasped sharply. We never got to kiss like this, my parents or his mother were always hovering. Plus he was too shy. I had to lead everything and it was exhausting.
I needed air and I pulled back to breathe. Ayden took over, his lips attacking my neck as his hands gripped my hips. I softly moaned his name, my head tilted back. "I don't know what's gotten into you, but I like it," I whispered.
"I love you so muuuch," he murmured back against my neck. "You're my entire life, Lydia.... that's such a pretty name. Lyyyyydia." He paused for a kiss. "Lydiiiiiia." Another kiss. "Lydiaaaaa." I giggled, leaning down to kiss him again. He started moving his hands at my top and I shook my head. Not while he was drunk. I had to stop him, even though I didn't really want to.
"Let's get you to bed," I suggested. "My parents are gonna be home soon. If they catch you with your hands up my top you'll be in hot water, mister." He whined in protest but I managed to get him to my room, out of his shirt and jeans and into a pair of his pajama pants I kept under my bed just in case.
He laid down and I smoothed his hair down gently. "You're so beautiful," he slurred, dragging me down to kiss him again. "I think, if you took every beautiful thing in the world, and like, put it in a big pot and mixed it up and heated it for thirty minutes it would make beautiful soup, and that's what you eat because you're so beautiful." I giggled madly but felt a warm blush over my cheeks.
"I'm not used to this Ayden," I said teasingly, continuing to stroke through his hair. His eyes were a little hazy and I could see him falling asleep.
"'Love you," he slurred happily, and I leaned down to kiss his cheek. "Love you too. I'm going to leave some water right here, and a wastebasket. You're gonna need it." I added with a grimace.
As I left, I grabbed the phone off the reciever and called Fabio, a heat between my legs I couldn't shake. When he answered I uttered a single sentence.
"You have to get him that drunk more often."

The Bowan Children:
Cora Mae Bowan (born July 6, 3044)
Tristan Jack Bowan (born February 20, 3047)
Quinn Helena Bowan (born November 15, 3052)
Cora's the oldest, and she's a little princess. Really a Daddy's girl, but never leaves my side, always bouncy and cheerful and so outgoing Ayden doesn't know how to handle her sometimes, but she loves her Daddy like nothing else. Tristan, named for Ayden's father, is quiet as a mouse and always hides behind my legs. Only Cora can bring out his wild side. And just when we thought we were done, we got the biggest surprise of our lives- little Quinn, who is the perfect mix of Ayden and I. Our beautful little family.
