ohhh my goodness, huge shoutout to you for getting through that ask!! i kept trying to find a good place to stop… and then i just gave up :) and tysm for waiting, i wanted to get back to you asap but it took longer than expected ^^; — as always i simply adore your replies and truly you are indulging me here.

but YES. you want to talk about yuzuvier, let’s talk about them!! disaster children!! i have to admit, you have me at a bit of a disadvantage since idk how much you’ve changed from the original plot set-up, but i’ll give it my best shot 🫡

let me start by dropping some music recs: ‘It’s Not The Same Anymore’ by Rex Orange County + ‘Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want This Time’ by The Smiths (also i am listening to the angsty teen spirit cover, it’s truly a vibe!!)

the big thing for me is like. yuzuru and javi meeting again under these circumstances would be so messy. i’m picturing yuzuru toeing the line btwn distant politeness and crushing vulnerability. he’s like. brittle. and tired. and just out of fuck’s to give in the worst way possible (where you don’t care because nothing matters, instead of not caring because you know exactly what matters and what doesn’t). and some days he feels like he’s fine and other days he feels like he’s falling apart all over again (because healing isn’t linear!!)

i’m imaging javi trying to slide back into the back-and-forth dynamic of their competitive days and it’s simply. not working. and having an honest conversation doesn’t work either, because yuzuru’s guards are up and he’s built 100 foot tall walls around his heart.

(like, for example, assuming the catalyst for yuzuru coming to spain is the same as it was originally - the fiancée and the scandal and all that)

jv: i mean, if we’re being honest, i never took for the type to-

(not saying this convo would necessarily happen, but trying to illustrate the ~tension~)

javi is trying, they’re both trying, but it’s just so hard. javi has always been kind, but now he’s almost too kind, and yuzuru hates it. he hates it (because javi’s kindness makes him feel vulnerable and exposed, and he can’t afford another heartbreak). ah, to have the reckless boldness of youth again!

…and i was wondering, what has javi’s love life looked like in these years? i enjoy maximum melodrama, so i was thinking maybe he was engaged a while back (a year ago? two?), they were actually planning to get married this summer. javi tries not to think about it too much. yuzuru buys pastries from the local village bakery, once he gathers the will to start venturing into town. javi doesn’t tell him that strawberry cheesecakes where his fiancé’s favourites too (he’s happy yuzuru seems to enjoy tho)

going to hit pause here again. still have lots of thoughts to share though! very excited to talk to you about how i think the cottage needing repairs should be a catalyst for bed sharing :} thank you again, you’ve made my sick day much more fun 💞

AH YES i'm so so sorry about this and the confusion it entails. truth is, i don't think i even know myself the scandal i want it to be anymore. two things : 1. this fic idea came to me 4 years ago! growing up and coming to terms with my own issues related to ~being publicly queer~, i feel like i don't care so much anymore about stories about people being in the closet, about sustained lies and hiding, where everything is going badly. idk, i've had my fill, i'm just not personally there anymore. still enjoy writing repression of feelings!!!! bottling up!!!! things unsaid!!!!! but more with an interpersonal focus, the specificity of each complex situation, rather than an "all my problems are actually about being gay" kinda thing. (rereading this and im rotfl. all problems ARE about being gay sometimes. fkgfjgk) so, WHAT I WANT TO SAY omg gee will i get to it is that i feel like the original intrigue, the way i imagined it, was a lil manichean. that's where comes point no.2 : i don't think yuzu is ever going to have a super public life? like? i don't like this idea of him riding the fame anymore? i feel like if he wanted to, he would have by now? actually i feel like this could be part of development : starting at point A, where everything is kept maniacly quiet and private, bc he wouldn't ever want to risk his image and legacy, and getting to point B : accepting it's okay to do public mistakes if it means showing up your authentic self. meaning, your imperfect authentic self still has value, still can bring something to the world, more than a pristine clean projected image. cataclysm could very much still be fake-marriage, gay paparazzi picture scandal! i still love it!

i feel like the story sounds the exact same fjkjgkfg but in my head i swear it's different. less internalized homophobia and drama about being out. more - simply & once again - performance anxiety dkfjkdf. (i am not repeating myself it's called a motif ok????) yuzu's in very good terms with his (ex-) fiancée. they're actual friends. they both knew this wasn't a marriage out of love. it just sucks bc yuzu, with his carelessness, hurt the deal they had that was good for them both. they can't go back.

now for Javi. YES to the broken engagement kdfgjlfgkgk. they would mirror each other (vine voice: omg they would mirror each other). what i was thinking with javi is that his struggle is that he's a serial dater. u know the people in your life who are never, ever single???? like, not that their relationships are short, sometimes they're very long, it's just, mostly, that they can't stand to be alone??? yeah. javi like that. chosing the comfort and stability of a long term relationship even if it's not perfect and he's not super happy in it. in love with the idea of love rather than with the actual person??? (thinking now about yuzu witnessing that at tcc. the jump from one relationship to the next, courtney-miki-marina-the-new-girlfriend-we-don't-know-about, all in the span of 6 years??? with little to no breaks in between??? while he's left pining for the man the whole time??? his poor teenage heart. siri play you belong with me by taylor swift (taylor's version).)

and hear me out, i know it's horrible, but i was imagining javi only being happy in his relationships over a period of six months : the first three months and the last three months. happy in the last three because he has by then already met his /next potential girl/ hgfjhgjfhg spends all his time texting her and the challenge is new and she comforts him and that's why it's so easy to leave his previous relationship and jump into the new one. boy's just continually transitioning. :) bonus point if yuzu tells him that, casually, over breakfast. like. yeah, you just can't stand to be alone. why are you making that face. everybody noticed long time ago, javi.

SO the fic starts and javi is SINGLE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN like. HIS ENTIRE LIFE. (yuzu is dubious about that. like. mh-mh, sure. who broke up your engagement? no new lady met few months before? yes, yes. i believe.)

thing is, it's the first time javi has been broken up with that actually hurt. he's been dumped before, sure! his ego a bit wounded, but truly, it only spared him the trouble of doing so himself. but this girl, he had proposed to her. he was ready for the long run, he was ready, he swears. (he's not an asshole!!!! his philosophy is really just : love is something that happens to you. when it doesn't happen anymore, it's over, and it's okay! it'll happen again! he has faith! but his lesson in this fic is : love is something you have to work for. actively. like any good thing that comes to you if you wanna keep it.) cue yuzuru teaching him the lesson the hard way, absolutely brutal : you know what. you know what. your fiancée just saved herself the pain you would have inevitably caused her. good for her, leaving your ass before you could get bored. before you could stop bothering with the effort it would require to stay with her, like you do EACH time! good for her. good for her.

also. cue the the conversation in the very beginning.

Cuddly McSpirk Headcanons based of my Big Vulcan Biology post

On Spock Hugs:

Literally PERFECT hugs, like, logically calculated and calibrated for Bones and Jim specifically. The combination of his strength, controlling his body temperature, purring and Vulcan touch telepathy create the most satisfying, comforting, reinvigorating hugs ever.

Jim is already so touch starved and touchy feely he probably gets a lot more Spock Hugs than Bones. They already touch a ton more than Spock is normally comfortable with so that wouldn’t be a big surprise.

For Bones hugs are different, despite how closely he hovers around Jim and Spock without realizing it, I don’t think he’s normally a hugger. Mostly because between Spock being Vulcan and Bones being autistic (and having an avoidant attachment style), touch boundaries are super important. I think after a really long and difficult day in sickbay he kinda gives Spock one without really thinking about it, and when it gets reciprocated it’s like oh. Hug requests are kinda subtle and non-verbal between them and always in private.

On actual cuddling

Spock is almost always in the middle of it’s the three of them cuz I mean, hello? Thermodynamic equilibrium?! But individually

I think Spock runs warmer for Bones than Jim because I get the vibe Bones is cold all the time (and hates it).

For Jim it’s less about temp and more about pressure (because of the whole touch starved thing). So it’s more about being held tight than being warm or cold.

On purring (starting to get into hurt/comfort territory):

Bones would be the first to notice before anybody was in a relationship. He knew from school that Vulcans purr but he wasn’t sure if a half-Vulcan would until the first time they had a real argument. From then on in, because Bones is so hyper aware of background noise and other people’s feelings he’s always the first to know when Spock is angry or uncomfortable.

The purring is a big signal for Bones to stop prodding/teasing OR depending on the situation, to keep pushing to make Spock honor and work through feelings he’s unhealthily suppressing. It probably catches him (and Jim too at this point) off guard the first time he hears Spock purr because he’s pleased. They both think it’s adorable but don’t want to humiliate him by mentioning it.

In an act of self indulgence, because he finds it comforting both because it reminds Bones that Spock is happy sometimes, and arguing is one of his love languages. Bones would NEVER actively ask Spock for anything like this if he can help it because it’s embarassing, he sneakily gets a recording of Spock purring and puts it on during particular hard nights when Spock isn’t around.

Spock curling up against wounded/recovering Jim or Bones and using the healing frequencies of purring and touch telepathy to lend them his strength to help them recover like a sentient therapy cat. Bonus angsty points if they’re trapped somewhere, one’s wounded and they’ve got no equipment and doing that is the only way Spock can help them.

so it eventually gets to the point where you’ll talk to renjun and jeno will talk to hyuck cus even the other dreamies are tired of it

except maybe for chenle, he always laughs his ass off when they start bickering

ANYWAY

your conversation goes something like “oh my god renjun i’m literally dating you, i don’t like haechan better or anything you little pile of fury”

while jeno sits hyuck down in front of him and jaemin and just

no but renjun would apologize for going overboard with his protectiveness and jealous energy because he’s not generally like that

he’s angry all the time but never about something involving you, you know

he tries his best to treat you like the royalty you are

but something about hyuck being your bias makes him feel a bit like a castaway???

he’s very creative and as an artsy kid myself i know we’re very prone to feeling left out because we’re just different from the others

so he’d think maybe haechan really has a better voice

or better dancing skills

he is taller than injun after all, and has broader shoulders, and his hair is all fluffy and—

the whole thing just made him insecure about things he had settled with himself long ago

he was fine with being him

but not so much when it came to that

i don’t think you two would fight over it cus tbh i think renjun would really only get with someone who can be very understanding of him

and i think hyuck would actually apologize to renjun too

literally every single activity you can think of from dance practice to photoshoots to cooking for the dreamies

he stays up later than usual to get that one tricky move in the choreo just right

jisung asked for ramen? he’s making it but you bet your ass he’s spending over 40 minutes just chopping so

AND STUFF THAT JISUNG WON’T EVEN EAT

but he’s doing it anyway for the reason being that it just has to be the Best™

and it’s not like he’s competing with anyone else to be diligent

this is just about being better than he was and showing himself—and maybe you—how painstakingly hardworking and driven he can be

and i need to point out this is NOT about making you change your bias from jaemin to him, this is solely about having you recognize his efforts, even if you already do

if you just thought jeno was like going off in work because it was asked of him to, jaemin would DEF notice and talk to you about it

turns out it’s a habit of jeno to go extra hard sometimes and he needs someone to make him take a break

so it goes down like you breaking into the practice room when jeno and jisung were practising

and you’re just rambling about how much of an amazing artist he is, and you love his voice, and he’s a fantastic dancer, and his expressions and gestures are on point, and he takes such good care of the dreamies and

he’s perfect

and he knows jaemin must have talked to you, and he feels so vulnerable to have you know how on edge he’s been

baby boy just needs some rest

and that’s exactly what you give him, with a bath full of those fancy bath bombs and flower petals and candles at your house/apt

then a quick sheet mask while you massage his shoulders and keep saying how much you genuinely admire him

the mask might be ruined cus he started crying out of exhaustion

after that’s been done and you’ve hugged for at least like 5 min nonstop, you head over to the dorms, where hyuck was in charge of setting up a blanket fort while mork and nana gather board games, jisung gets the food and chenle

well chenle just had to make sure jisung doesn’t forget to order for someone and doesn’t break like 10 plates trying to set the table lol

this is way longer than the others so imma wrap it up

make it obvious and loud that you see and respect jeno’s hard work and he’ll be alright again

and maybe make those game nights a weekly thing when possible, it would make him very happy

he’ll never again feel sad when you praise jaemin cus now he’s sure he does enough, and above all, he is enough

I already said it on my previous request but being a sorcerer means Gojo might be « distant » with you. Not that he didn’t find you attractive or enjoy you being around him (he craves for attention). But yes at first he doubted that you were interested on him because of him (he knows he is difficult to live with) or because of his position, money etc. But it doesn’t mean he won’t date a sorcerer.

Times after times when you two became not only lover but friends, when he realized that you didn’t give a damn as much as him, when it came to sorcerer’s world. When he realized that you wanted to change it as much as he wanted too, I’m not saying that he would give you his heart but he will start to see you not just because he appreciates you but as a person.

And that’s how he started to fall in love.

Now being in relationship with you got his good point, you can understand (or at least got an idea) of his struggle as the strongest sorcerer, you can go on mission with him so it means you could spend time with him, both you can train together, he would be more confident too in the idea that you’re able to defend yourself (even if he would never let anyone curse put a finger on you, they would be dead before thinking about it).

Before starting just a warning : not because you’re sorcerer mean he acte more like a grown up, no just give up on this he is bubbly and would remain the same, also he is possessive and hella protective no matter if you can defend yourself.

That being said, how its like to date him as a sorcerer ?

First, if you’re member of clan that mean both of you is supposed to go into the usual meeting, but since you’re dating him it also means that not only him but you would be late. It’s good thing that you didn’t give a damn (even if you hated getting late). So after getting scold for being late, you would assist on the meeting and well, one advise just don’t sit close to Gojo. He hates those meeting, he got him nervous, it’s source of stress for him so it needs something to relieve. That thing is you.

It means that yeah he would tease you during the whole speech, sometimes he would tickle you, sometimes he would whisper dirty things on your and would lick it slightly, mentioned how he want to just throw you in the center and just fuck you roughly at least both you would be here for something, sometimes he went as far as to touch you and I’m not talking about him grabbing your hands : he would stroke your ass if he can have an access on it, he would stroke your thigh anything just to flustered you. He loves meeting because he knows he has you to keep him entertaining.

If you’re not a member, he might insist on taking you with him since you’re still a part of the sorcerer society. Not matter what people would say, he doesn’t give a damn, if he says you’ll be here with him, you would. Exception, if you told him you don’t want to, or if you’re busy with something he won’t push it will whine and except you to give him extra attention and foods for letting him alone. During time like this he would sext you during the whole meeting he has no chill and no one would dare say something, he knows that and is not afraid to take avantage of it.

When it came to you daily routine, do not expect anything out of ordinary. I mean if you can you would share a breakfast together, shower together (100% end up with your chest against the wall while he is having his fun with you) but then you would have to either go in a mission together or he would go for his teacher duties while you would leave for you own activity. Sometimes, you wake up with him not being here anymore cause he had to leave earlier for a mission, expect something like a breakfast ready for you or at least a little word on his bedside to apologize (also even if he is on mission, he would easily call you while fighting a cursed because he missed you, also whines a lot).

When you two leave for a mission, there isn’t much to do I mean if you can manage the curse Satoru would gladly let you do your job while getting a little bit too excited because you’re way too hot, too badass (yeah he is like your number 1 cheerleader), if you’re taking too much time he would whine and complain though. Mostly because he wants you to do it quickly so you could spend the rest of the day cuddling because obviously he would come back with you at the Tokyo school once he is satisfied with the time you two spent together

So if you’re taking too much time he would just end this like with a snap of his finger (that mother..) and while you’ll be angry at him for taking care of your business, he would just throw you on his shoulder while patting your ass and laughing at the same.

Then you two would spend quality time together, having lunch, chilling together (movie, even taking a nap together)

And then Satoru would be scold for taking way to much time on « easy » case which obviously he couldn’t care less, again he is Satoru Gojo what possibly could the old man (except getting on his never ?).

Do not take me wrong he is afraid of being scold by the principal and you, especially getting scold by you. Cause it means no Mochi and Cuddle for Satoru, and he couldn’t tolerate that (deprive him from his precious Mochi what kind of torture is that ?). But then he would find a way to your sweet spot, one stroke from your cheeks, a little pout of him, and a little complain about how little time you two could spent together because of your job and so yeah he just managed time on his own.

How could you be angry against him ? He knows he is cute and your weak for his puppy eyes

But that’s is when you two could spend mission together, obviously Gojo is way more busier that you (still a teacher and a sorcerer) so he tends to outside more often than you even thought you’re pretty busy yourself. Except a lot, of chitchatting at worst time. I swear he knows when you’re currently struggling to hold your domain expansion or your spell and this is when he decided to text you about a video he saw on YouTube that make him laugh. And if you’re not answering at him, he calls you.

Yes. You’re bleeding the shit out of you but that fucker is upset because he didn’t have enough attention from you he’ll FaceTime you at the worst moment.

Although sometimes when got bored during a mission he would flirt with you. It’s the rule. He doesn’t care that they are plenty of cursed around you, you’re hot and he wants attention

Sometimes when you got hurt during a mission and unfortunately Gojo wasn’t there to take care of that damn curse; he is getting really pissed. He won’t show it but everything can feel it, the tension is here all around him, everyone could feel so pressure whenever something happened to you.

He barely left your bed even though you’ve been healed by Shoko, he won’t, he insists on watching you just in case. Will hold your hand during your healing process. After your accident, good luck cause he would NEVER let you on your own. Going to the bathroom ? He is right behind the door waiting for you, Going for some shopping he didn’t got money for nothing, don’t ever think about leaving for a mission either him or Nanami (cause he would bother him until Nanami decided that yes he would watch you just to be sure) would be their by your side.

You mean everything for him.

At some points, he would talk to you about his whole projet, about how he is about to kick those old prick out of the system and expect you to be by his side too (which won’t be too difficult considering most of them are ass***)

Also, if students were kinda suspicious about you (like who could even be healthy enough to date Gojo ?) they quickly understand why Gojo loves you so much to the point both of you became their parent.

So sometimes you’ll be there to take care of their lesson since Gojo in his good fashion way decided to be late or just leave to buy a new mocchi. You’re kinda became Gojo-sensei 2.0

Everyone loves you and when Gojo appears to finally be the teacher he is, they all whine about missing you. Later than day he would whine while being on your arm, about how you stole his students from you.

You didn’t you were just a better teacher than him but he is not ready for that conversation. So instead, you just stroke his hair telling him how wonderful he is, about how obviously everyone loves him they’re just shy about it. Spring Break was a bit of an odd ep but helped move some key plots forward. Let’s dig in!

We finally got Gina’s pov and she starts off the ep uncertain whether the shift in their relationship means that EJ likes her but by the end of the ep she seems sure of herself and that EJ likes her back. I liked that she didn’t try to pretend that nothing had changed or that she hadn’t noticed potential signs that EJ might like her; it always sucks when tv characters act like idiots.

Perhaps the most important reveal of this ep was that Gina has a much older estranged brother who left her and her mom many years ago. That certainly makes her backstory more tragic and is definite set up for her brother to eventually return.

The writers continue to give Portwell great tropes, capping this ep off with an airport rom-com trope that also calls back to EJ getting Gina the place ticket so she could come back in S1. Not only did Gina keep EJ’s Duke sweatshirt but she altered it to fit her better which is both sweet and bold in the assumption that it was hers to keep. Gina got her sign when not only did EJ show up to drive Gina home and take her luggage but he brought her the granola bar that she had wanted but forgot to pack. I wonder if her posting on her story that she was ubering home after her flight was cancelled was intended to see if EJ would show up since the camera focused on her posting it. Also sweet that she’s taken to calling EJ, ‘ Eej’.

EJ’s opening was good, shows a lot of his character growth from the selfish guy he was in S1 and how he’s learned to value other people which of course leads into his feelings for Gina. We got another great use of the camera as character tonight when Gina was laughing after her facetime call with EJ until she realized that the camera was on her.

Jack was a lot of fun. Though he didn’t really change Gina’s mind over anything like the ep description said he would. Seemed like Gina was largely over Ricky and wondering about EJ at the beginning and the end solidified her feelings for EJ but Jack didn’t really play a role in that, it’s not like he encouraged Gina to reach out to EJ or anything. There’s a vague sense in which Jack being nomadic linked him to Ricky’s unreliability in Gina’s eyes with her craving stability but that’s a stretch. Jack mentioned that the second most dangerous part of a plane ride is when the plane takes off, a hint to the blossoming Portwell relationship where in order to take off one or both of them has to risk a confession even though they could be turned down.

This ep might seem a bit weird in hindsight. The zoom parts probably won’t age well and five years from now people might be wondering why they had Gina hang out with a manic pixie dream boy of sorts for an ep.

The path is clear for canon Portwell in the finale with EJ being Gina’s second chance at romance and her first kiss since they clearly telegraphed it out of nowhere. I’ve been impressed with the great work the writers have been doing since 2x05 to build up Portwell as a ship but also work on Gina and EJ as individual characters; they’ve been the highlight of the season so far.

There was discourse this past week over how well or poorly Portwell has been set up. Objectively very few ships on this show get much in the way of set up or consistent writing. Redlyn and Kowie had barely any set up before getting together. Seblos had none (though in fairness that was due to Disney restrictions) and Miss Jenn and Mike Bowen didn’t have much set up either. Rini did get lots of development in S1 but that’s because they had already dated and were the main ship of the show. The show’s not really about slow burns, if Jenzzara canons in the finale they’ll count and if Rina ever got together they’d also count but neither of those ships have gotten consistent development with Mazzara not being in several eps and Gina and Ricky not even interacting for the past 3 eps.

Is Portwell a slowburn? In a sense since they did feature quite a bit in each other’s S1 plot lines and even had a fake dating plot but it is true that they were platonic and not that close in S1 so it’s a wash. There was clear set up for romantic Portwell in 1x10 with team wonderstudies and Gina staring at EJ (which interestingly enough looked more like set up for Gina to pine over EJ). I think the main problem is that even though we saw Gina and EJ hanging out in the background we didn’t get any scenes of substance between them until 2x05. It was a mistake and there should have been some scene, like EJ and Gina commiserating in 2x03 over being single on Valentine’s Day or something like that. Hell there was even that still from 2x01 of EJ and Gina looking at each other at the piano while they were in the frame between Ricky and Nini singing and having a moment which would have been good foreshadowing but that shot wasn’t in the ep.

Whether Tim just really wanted Portwell to be a surprise in 2x05 as a mid-season twist to throw the audience off of what looked like a Rini/Rina triangle or he was unsure as to whether he wanted to go with Portwell or if he just planned it out poorly we may never know. Regardless they’ve had great writing for 4 eps in a row now which puts them slightly ahead of the 3 eps in a row of development Rina got in S1. I’m sure if someone added up their screen time they’d find that Portwell has more screen time this season than Kowie and more screen time than Redlyn or Seblos got in S1.

Caswell cousins was fun and Ashlyn did in fact paint EJ’s nails.

Set up for Seblos drama next week, it’s refreshing to see Seb being jealous over Carlos flirting with other boys that’s definitely not something you see on Disney shows.

Ricky got some healing done with his mom. Enough to cover their issues? No but this is probably the best this show is capable of. There was a brief mention of therapy sandwiched between other options which sounds more like checking off a box then setting up Ricky actually going to therapy. I noticed Lynne was smiling at odd times like when she told Ricky she knew about his breakup with Nini; whether that was poor directing or acting I don’t know. Who knows if we’ll see Lynne again. As an aside still so wild that Tim named Lynne who’s been a kinda shitty mom after his own mom who he seems to be fairly close with.

Really liked You ain’t seen nothin as a song but not a fan of the Tiktok style vid. I’ll level with you wildcats, I’m too old to really get Tiktok, it just seems like a crappy version of Vine to me. Let you go was good, seemed better fitted for Joshua Bassett’s voice than some of his previous songs. A big sign that they’re not circling back to Rini for a long time for sure. Though on that note we got a bit of a hint that Ricky was Nini’s muse which may one day come back as a way to help bring them back together.

Looking Ahead:

If there’s only 3 weeks left till the Menkies, with only 2 weeks left for rehearsal due to spring break, it’s hard to see East High winning unless North High is disqualified or has to withdraw.

Lily is in a promo photo so she’s likely the unexpected facetime Ricky gets which is what I had theorized. Also makes it much more likely that she’s the party crasher Ricky re-evaluates in the finale though what Tim actually wants to do with those two I do not know.

There’s little point in bringing back the Valentine’s chocolate since there’s no real stakes. Rini are already broken up, Gina hasn’t spoken to Ricky since 2x06, and it’s not like Nini and Gina were ever close so even if they stopped talking to each other it wouldn’t really affect the show in any way.

Seems pretty likely that Second Chances refers to Gina realizing that her first try with Ricky failed but her second chance with EJ won’t and that leads to her sharing her truth and cue the Portwell confession and kiss, perhaps with an assist on EJ’s end from Mazzara. We’ve gone well past the point where Portwell can be brushed off as just a plot device to help Rina but Tim is playing with fire by getting the audience so on board with Portwell if he’s once again going to have EJ lose a girl he likes to Ricky in S3.

Gina certainly needs to talk with Ricky and I do think that happens in ep 11 or 12 and leaves them on better terms. As I mentioned last week, if Tim was smart he’d slam the door on Rina if he’s going with canon Portwell or vice versa. If he wants Rina to be a slow burn he’s really botched the writing this season, it’s been too one sided and too angsty to sustain any kind of momentum or audience interest. They haven’t even interacted for 3 eps now and not only has it not affected the show but it’s inarguably made Gina’s story line much better. Again I don’t think he’s smart enough to not try and do Portwell and then later Rina but he’s accidentally set up the Rina story line to quite easily slam the door permanently on them by having their conversation be closure for Gina who’s moved on and an apology from Ricky who never liked her back as much as Gina liked him.

Not looking forward to seeing Nini basically live out Olivia Rodrigo’s life in future seasons

Curious to see Carlos’ apology song to Seb. Ricky helping him with it is a great way to help start redeeming Ricky’s character in the audiences eye’s. According to Matt there is a bit of a Ricky/EJ rivalry this season and if it’s really happening the sleepover would be a good place to do it though I hope it’s not about Gina.

Okay but what if luffy got his devil fruit a bit younger? Like he was 4ish when shanks brought it. Garp gets pissy earlier and decides to tie some balloons to his grandson and let the sky handle him while he makes arrangements with dadan.

But then it's a particularly bad day for luffy, and a strong wind carried him away from his island, he ends up falling right into one of the newer slave trader's ships and well fuck. He tried to fight them off but one of them has a collar with sea stone that the big boss person gives to every ship, even the smaller ones. So now luffy's fucked.

Since he's got a devil fruit, he's taken to the big boss child slave distributor asshole (put that on a business card) and then eventually gets taken to judge, because of course that dickhead would buy superpowered children. Judge gets him purely because rubber boy can take a hell of a walloping and also is stronger than the average four year old.

The vinsmoke brats and Sanji end up being pitted against Luffy and luffy does not win, but he doesnt die either so that's a plus. Sanji hates beating up a four year old, his brothers seem to love being able to punch something as much as they want without them being taken away or dying.

Luffy ends up learning how to fight by force, and eventually he's dubbed Sanji's fighting partner since they're both the weakest, which sucks because if sanji loses he gets locked up and if luffy loses then judge gives the other three brothers sharp objects and free time with luffy

Eventually luffy befriends sanji because of course he does, and loving food as much as he does he becomes the taste tester for sanji's cooking endeavors, and sometimes luffy manages to limp away to talk to sanji when he's in his cell.

When they escape, they escape together, and sanji becomes a bus boy and luffy just carries shit because he cant really do anything else but he could deadlift a ship at 10 so hey

When the attack happens, sanji's trying to save luffy, but zeff has to save him. Sanji sits on that rock almost certain that luffy's dead.

Luffy didn't die tho, because no, and he got saved, idk how, this is a writing prompt u figure it out, and they end up growing up apart for a bit after that. Luffy doesn't find his island again, but he does a bit of bounty hunting to get by and ends up making a name for himself because apparently his 'training' with the vinsmokes was a little more brutal than he thought.

Sanji works hard, he feels he owes a debt to both zeff and luffy, both of which helped him in some of his worse moments, and ends up a bit more edgy than in canon because he thinks his only friend is dead (push him to the edge🎶)

But then luffy gets blamed for something that was only really half his fault and half the random bandit he was fighting's fault, and he ends up with a bounty. It isn't a big one, just about 10000 berri, he kinda destroyed a bit more marine property than is recommended. But then sanji sees the bounty in the paper and he doesnt know if he should be glad his friend is alive or angry that luffy let him think he was dead.

But then luffy comes to the baratie when hes about 15-16, and then he sees sanji again and now he's super fuckin happy because how would luffy know sanji was alive?? They both came to the conclusion of mutual misunderstanding and lack of information after a bit of angst, because its sanji and luffy. But they get over it because they were both on the bottom end of the vinsmoke hellhole and does it really matter when they're reunited?

Zeff let's luffy steal sanji because it's been over a decade but luffy still wants to be the motherfuckin king, okay? And sanji's gonna be the cook for the pirate king and find the all blue because

Sanji becomes luffy's first mate and then start a sailing. Luffy attracts friends like a magnet, they get usopp next, and luffy kills kuro because luffy isn't as not-killerish as he is in canon because tragic backstory and if you leave a kid alone to be a bounty hunter long enough with only their own brain to make the morals, what do you expect will happen? Usopp joins because 'UwU piwate' is his opinion on the matter

They get nami, and sanji's a bit more chill than in canon because growing up with a guy that was also nice along with his sister and mother had a bit of an impact. He's still a bit if a french goth and treats nami better than other people but he isn't being a douche about a lady fighting or making faces quite as stupid.

Zoro joins but Does Not like sanji, which is mutual but luffy likes him so sanji must deal. They make their way toward the grand line, going back to the baratie, or what's left of it.

Sanji gets another thick layer of angst learning that while he was gone, don krieg destroyed the ship trying to steal it, and then they go to find don krieg, postponing grand line for a hot second because luffy wont leave until he gets to personally kick the ass of whoever made his cook so extra angsty, and sanji seconds that.

They find don krieg in Cocoyashi island, after crashing there with his broke ass ship. They fight him, the ruckus brings out arlong before Nami can attempt to lie to save them.

Sanji gets off one angst and gets it replaced with another when he can barely do shit because he was cooking all this time and is no longer as strong as luffy, who was only really working on fighting. Luffy almost dies because he has to fight both those shitheads back to back, but he wins.

Sanji starts getting more aggressive with zoro, and zoro only stays because he saw the fight and respects his captain, but that's a bit of a loose thing, ready to snap with a wrong move. Or maybe zoro leaves because he needed that fight with mihawk to realise this was serious and he was a pirate now, to each their own.

They stay in the east blue a little longer because luffy nearly died and they dont have a doctor, but he's fine. Sanji gets more guilt tho because that's how he is, and starts treating luffy nicer, which leads to luffy instigating a fight between the two of them because luffy wont swallow that shit. It helps things because violence is sometimes the answer

They head to the grand line, up reverse mountain, meet the whale, the whole shebang. Sanji might catch feels by this point because honestly who wouldn't?

Nami gets sick, and luffy doesn't know how to deal with that because back when he was being carted around with a sea stone collar and 30 other starving children, they just shot the ones that got sick. Ptsd time and guess who gets to help because zoro isn't first mate/here? Sanji! Which definitely puts things into perspective because for as long as he'd known him, luffy's tried his hardest to make sanji smile, and keep him company, even though after being bought luffy's only purpose was to be a stepping stone in sanji's development. So sanji finally being smacked across the face with the brunt of bottled up traumatized child luffy, he needs a fuckin smoke.

They find drum island and then same shit as canon, except it hits a bit harder with luffy carrying a dying nami and a heavily injured sanji up sheer rock because that's the only person that luffy had when shit got rough that he's holding between his teeth.

When sanji wakes up he probably notices how injured luffy is and can estimate the ringer he's been through because Sanji had to personally find out how luffy's healing factor worked because he was a good fraction of the reason luffy needed to heal so much.

They acquire a chopper :3

Basil minnie here, can you make some ADHD Basil headcannons? I have a few, like how Basil will sometimes forget to water one of the plants and then proceed to apologize to it a bunch. Also he goes on long rambles about hyperfixations and things he is very obsessed with! One more is that he struggles with rejection sensitivity dysphoria and gets sad when his friends seem to be ignoring what hes saying even though they arent ignoring him. Most of my headcannons are kinda angsty and I need wholesome ones 🥺

Hey Nonnie! I love me some ADHD Basil (Even though that isn’t what I personally headcanon him having...we might talk about that in the future) for now I really like all the stuff you’ve said so far! Let me add some stuff of my own! Part of this is going to be a TW: Drugs

Basil doesn’t get diagnosed until he’s 18 years old. His parents had always been distant, and they didn’t see an issue. Their unwanted child got good grades and stayed out of trouble, so if he was out of sight he was out of mind.

They ignore the fact that Basil couldn’t focus in on a conversation unless he began it. They ignored that he couldn’t sleep, that his dreams were wild and frightening in their elaborate details. They ignored his bouncing legs, his tapping fingers, just like they ignored everything else about him.

Basil....wasn’t super happy when he was diagnosed. He felt like he had failed some unspoken test. Like he had spent most of his life trying to look just like everyone else, and now here was this obvious way he was different.

After more therapy and talking with some other people (Kel) who have ADHD Basil changes his mind and starts to view himself in a more positive light, but those first weeks are hard.

Kel and Basil are two ADHD BFFs. They can sit together and ramble at one another for hours at a time. Their conversations are so fast paced no one else can keep up, and they tend to interrupt and finish one another’s sentences a lot.

It’s actually a relief to both of them to have someone else that fires as fast as they do. Kel loves his other friends, but Aubrey usually cuts him off and Sunny doesn’t contribute as much as he just listens. Basil adds, changes the subject and leads Kel down roads he never thought

For Basil it’s great just to have someone who never wants him to stop. He’s spent so much of his life being told to stop, or that he’s too much. He’s never too much for Kel

They swap hyperfixations a *lot*. Kel learns all sorts of things about plants, and Basil learns everything about different dog breeds. He quickly is able to get over his fear of dogs, because Kel just babbles endlessly about training Hector, and Basil hangs on to every word.

Basil does have really bad RSD. Like debilitating. He spent most of his life just trying to mitigate symptoms by being the best friend he could be (How you get situations like what happened with Mari and Sunny....)

After he starts therapy and gets his diagnosis, Basil begins to work on his RSD. One of the main things is also working on his codependency, which means that at first, Basil doesn’t talk to Sunny. He doesn’t avoid Sunny, doesn’t try to pretend he isn’t there anymore like he did before, but he doesn’t seek the other boy out.

They’re both healing, and it’s clear that healing is better when done apart. At least for now.

Basil starts off working on his RSD in very small ways, just Kel Aubrey and himself going to get a slice of pizza. They had asked him if he wanted pizza, and Basil’s automatic repsonse was Yeah sounds good but he didn’t want it. He wanted to get something healthier, and a new salad place had opened up down the street from the plaza.

It was a simple thing, just a tiny little thing. No he wanted to get a salad, but the frightened boy inside of him just begged him to keep his mouth shut.

After multiple attempts to speak Basil blurted out his request. He hated himself for it, and he was sure his friends would hate him too, but there was a calm voice in his head that hadn’t been there a month prior. This voice reminded him that speaking up wasn’t bad, and that the worst they could say was no.

He was terrified, and halfway to a panic attack, but if Kel and Aubrey noticed they quietly both decided to keep their mouths shut. They each took one of his hands and began to walk towards the salad place instead, starting up a conversation about school

It wasn’t great, but it was a step towards better. Basil barely ate his salad, but he did enjoy the company of his two best friends.

Becoming a stay-at-home dad was much easier than trying to blend in with society, he found. While he felt guilty for leaving you to deal with all the bills, you told him not to worry about it. He kept the house tidy, made sure everyone was fed, and took Maria to school and her sports practices. She was turning out to be quite the little athlete. She almost had too much energy for him. He often found it hard to keep up. You weren't *not* trying for another. You weren't going out of your way for it, but if it happened; it happened.

The other stay-at-home mothers and housewives in your neighborhood would practically adopt Risotto. He was accepted into their groups- and subsequently their gossip- with open arms. They would protect him if police ever bothered him, and in return he became the neighborhood's handyman. Strangely enough, this was where he fit in best.

He couldn't keep his hands off of you.

It wasn't in a sexual way- though that was certainly the case too- Risotto always had to have an arm around you. He constantly needed his hands laced over your stomach, or his body pressing into yours from behind. At times his presence was suffocating, but you knew this was coming from a good place. It was force of habit. You getting pregnant only made him look over his shoulder more. Not many people would touch you before- at times you were frightening- but Risotto only added to that. Nobody in the PTA wanted to fuck with either of you. If he wasn't protective enough of you before, he certainly was now. Anyone who so much as looked at you the wrong way got a death stare. He'd wrap you up in his arms when people would try to touch your belly in public, not letting them near you. Sometimes he found himself spiraling into his old habits as he plotted the death of people who pissed you off. You wouldn't notice that creepy customer at your job going missing, would you?

You would go on maternity leave about a month or so before your due date. Being on your feet all day was getting nearly impossible as your walk became more of a waddle. Pregnancy to you wasn't some magical thing everyone your mother's age chalked it up to be. You were nauseous 90% of the time. You were constantly bloated and sick feeling, with spider veins popping up on your legs. If your second pregnancy had been your first, Maria would be an only child. Risotto never minded. He still found it hard to believe that there was something in there. And it was his. He looked at you like you were the most precious thing in the world. Because to him you were.

Maria would curl up next to you and not quite understand why your stomach would sometimes kick her. The other one wasn't even born yet and they're already fighting. You know you won't have a nice, quiet house for much longer. And the two of you are fine with that. If your youngest is anything like their sister, you'll have your hands full. Risotto's headstrong nature with your stubbornness is a deadly combination.

But he wants a big family and the loud house that comes with it.

Every night he has to have his arms around you or else he can't sleep; even as the summer months arrive, and it becomes far too hot to cuddle. You've learned to stop scooting away since he'll always pull you back to him. Every night he would pull you into his arms, running his hands over the growing bump of your stomach.

One night he pulls you extra close. The nightmares haven't stopped, he's only quit reacting to them. Waking up next to you grounds him in reality. He distracts himself with housework, or decorating the nursery. You settled on a shade of lilac for the walls. In the crib- which was painted a pale blue- was filled with strange stuffed toys. There was a cat, a fish, an ice gremlin, and some purple monster with a lot of eyes. "I'm only giving them options" you'd say. An old, ornate mirror pulled from your old home was hung up. It was a wedding gift from Prosciutto, and likely the most expensive thing you owned at the time. "They'd need one when they're older" you'd reason.

You can't seem to sleep either. Risotto rolls over in bed to face you. Instinctively you brush the stray hairs out of his face.

"Have any names picked out?" He asks.

Though you had planned this long before he even agreed to it, names weren't something you'd given much thought.

"I do. I know it's really strange to name them after food but," you don't even have to finish the sentence for him to know where you're going with this, "how about Prosciutto, or Pesci? Or Ghiacco, Melone..."

Formaggio, Illuso, Sorbet, Gelato...

He only nods. He'd never admit it, but your old squad was his family. Back then, neither of you would dare to say such a thing. At the time they were only strangers forced into the same fate. Your teammates were never meant to be family. Losing them sent him spiraling into a pit he's still recovering from. You go on in their memory because they would bully the hell out of you for stopping to feel sorry for yourself. If they were still alive, your children would be the two most well protected kids on earth. They'd have eight uncles all willing to kill for them.

"What if they're a girl?" He asks.

"It's a boy."

The way you say it with such certainty makes him laugh, the noise coming from deep in his chest. He nuzzles into the crook of your neck.

While you were waiting until they were born to find out the gender, you had the sneaking suspicion they were going to be a boy. Maybe your mother pointed out that one of your breasts hung lower than the other- while absolutely uncalled for- meant they were a boy.

Eventually you would settle on what Risotto's name was before he joined Passione: Dante. Nobody called him that- not even you. Just as he rarely called you by your birth name. He wouldn't even speak it, writing it down for you when asked. That was not who either of you were anymore. The old versions of you died when you were assigned to the hitman team.

You would go into labor a week early. To no one's surprise, you would have a son. A healthy- albeit small- boy with a tuft of silver hair. The moment you're allowed to, you pass him off to his father. It's clear Risotto has no clue what he's doing, but he looks at your son like he's the most precious thing in the world. He's so tiny compared to him. He kind of looks like an old man... But Risotto won't tell you that.

You'd be released from the hospital a few days later.

Sometimes you wonder if your children will grow up to be stand users. They have to be- both their parents are. You had little understanding of how- or why- you had a stand, only gaining yours after being shot with a bow of all things. It was sort of a promise you made to yourself to never use yours. You were keeping yourself out of trouble, as tempting as it was to start it.

You hadn't seen Metallica in years. You missed the days when you could embarrass Risotto by calling them cute.

Dante wasn't a quiet child. For seemingly no reason, he would scream until he exhausted himself. Only then would he sleep. Lucky for you, Maria could sleep through anything, so she wasn't bothered by him. You brought him to doctors but they would all tell you this was normal. He was eating, gaining weight, and growing as a child should. There was nothing they could do for you.

Most nights Risotto would get up for the baby. He told you it was so you'd heal faster, and that if Dante needed to eat he'd bring him to you. But you didn't buy it. Risotto was still over the moon that something so little was his. Speaking from experience, he wouldn't be tiny for very long. Maria was nearly able to look you in the eye and that is far too much power for a six-year-old to have. You weren't even that short, she was tall; it didn't help that your husband was nearly a foot taller than you.

There's enough light in the room to make out Risotto's large figure and the bundle of blankets in his arms. Metallica's writhing form is visible in the reflection of Dante's eyes. His pudgy hand outstretched, grabbing onto the Metallica beans, trying to catch them.

Not only was your child loud, but he was a stand user too. And you had the sneaking suspicion he wasn't the only one.

“Ron Weasley! You ignorant worm.” You huff, storming out of the common room.

“Wait! y/n -“ he calls after you, but you ignore him.

He was such a pain in the ass sometimes. You honestly can’t understand how you fell for him. Sure he’s funny and usually pretty kind, but an overwhelming amount of the time he’s such a prat.

“Hey, y/n! What’s going on?” hermione asks.

“Ron is being a git like always.” You grumble, sighing now that you’re finally away from him.

“What’s he done now?” She asks, frowning at your obvious frustration.

You sigh, running a hand through your hair as you start to tell her.

“It’s game day, y/n!” Hermione cheers, jumping onto your bed as she wakes you.

“‘Mione, why’re you so loud?” you pout, burying your head in a pillow.

“Sorry, y/n, but today’s the day of the gryffindor and slytherin quidditch match. Aren’t you excited to see Ron and Harry play?”

“Very excited, but I also like to sleep.” You mumble.

She chuckles, pulling the blankets off of you.

“Come on, let’s get dressed and go get some breakfast.”

“Alright, alright. I’m coming.” You sigh, starting to roll to the side of the bed.

“And here is the gryffindor team!” Lee Jordan shouts from the commentary box, nearly drowned out by the gryffindor house cheering.

“You’ve got this, Ron! You’ve got it, Harry!” You and hermione cheer as each of your friends fly onto the field.

“Win this thing for us, boys!” You yell, smiling at your friends.

Harry smiles, nodding in determination at you while Ron flushes and shies away, his nerves racing.

He knew you’d be here, you love quidditch just as much as he does, but the thought of you watching him fail is nerve wracking. He doesn’t want to give you any reason to be disappointed. He wants more than anything to impress you.

“You’ve got this, Ron! I know you’ll do great! Just breathe and focus!”

He nods, smiling lightly as his ears turn red. He can’t understand how kind you are and how confident you are in every one of your friends.

He takes a deep breath and joins the huddle of his teammates before the game starts.

You watch the game, not much happening at the moment. The game has been going for nearly an hour now and gryffindor were ahead 140 to 110.

Ron has been doing great, blocking goal after goal from the slytherin team.

“Way to go, Ron!” You cheer as he blocks yet another attempt to score from one of the slytherin chasers.

“Would you like anything to eat, y/n? I think I’m going to grab some snacks and drinks.”

“Uhm, yeah. Just bring me back a water and whatever you want to grab for food. Thank you, ‘mione.”

A few more minutes pass when a slytherin beater starts to become pushy. You can tell they’re becoming more aggressive when they nearly slam into one of your house’s chasers.

Then you see them size up Ron and you know they’re readying to aim the bludger at him.

Before you can warn him, the beater directs the bludger right at Ron’s head.

“Ron! Watch out!” You shout, jumping up from your seat and nearly falling out of the stands as it races towards him.

You watch as he turns around to glance at you, trying to understand what you’ve said when the ball hits him right in the side of the head, surprising him and causing him to fall to the ground unconscious.

“Ron!” You scream, immediately running from your spot to meet him on the ground.

When you get there you see that one of the professors had been able to slow him down enough to not cause anymore damage from the fall, but he was still unconscious.

“Ron,” you gasp, frowning at the sight. You knew how worried he had been for the game and then this has to happen.

“Watch out, miss y/l/n. We have to take him to the hospital wing.” McGonagall says as hermione meets up with you, staring at your friend.

“Y/n,” hermione starts.

“H-he’ll be okay.” She reassures. You nod but don’t fully believe her.

It’s been a week now since the quidditch game, which Harry had won for you guys, and you still hadn’t seen Ron.

Even though you had seen him once before he woke up, since he’s woken up and been healing, he’s refused to see you.

Both harry and hermione have been to see him and have told you how he’s doing, but it upset you that you weren’t allowed to see for yourself. Why wouldn’t he let you see him? You had never been anything but a friend to him, you had even made sure he had some of his own clothes to change into when he woke up, and this is what you get?

“Hey, y/n. How are you doing?” Hermione asks as she and Harry come into the common room.

“Hey, guys. I’m fine. Are you guys coming back from seeing Ron?”

They both hesitate, sharing a look with each other which gives you all the response you need.

“You don’t have to hide it. Is he okay?”

“Yeah, he’s fine, y/n. Madame Pomfrey says he can leave tomorrow morning.” Hermione answers and you nod, feeling a tiny bit upset that he wouldn’t tell you himself.

“That’s good. I’m glad he’s better.”

“I think I’ll head up to my room now if you guys don’t mind. I’m kinda tired.” You say after a moment.

“Alright, y/n. Sleep well.” Harry says, sharing a pitiful look with hermione.

They know how much you care for Ron and how much it bothers you that he won’t let you see him. You are still his friend and you deserve to be able to visit him.

However, they also know the reason Ron has refused to see you - he’s embarrassed. He admitted he wanted to impress you and then he goes and falls all because he looked at you.

He’s too ashamed to look at you because you remind him of his failure even though he hasn’t failed at anything. In all honesty, he’s more afraid that you’ll be disappointed or even mad at him.

“Hey guys.” You smile, sitting down at breakfast with Harry, Ron, and hermione.

“Hey.” Harry and hermione greet. Ron, however, can barely look at you. You frown, but try to ignore it.

“How are you guys this morning?”

“A bit tired, actually, but good.” Hermione smiles, passing you the butter for your pancakes.

“That’s good.” You smile, looking over at Ron to see him staring straight at his plate seeming to be ignoring you.

“I can’t stay long, I have some reading I want to do before class.” You say, taking a bite of your food.

“What reading?” Hermione asks, wondering if she forgot to do something.

“I just want to familiarize myself with some of the topics we’re covering this week.”

“Oh, okay.” she nods, realizing you’re just trying to get out of this situation. You had already scanned over the reading last night.

She feels bad as she knows how awkward you’re feeling right now, but she’s not sure how to help. It’s dumb how Ron is acting, but it wasn’t her place to say anything. Not yet at least.

“So, Ron, have you gotten the work you missed last week?” She asks.

“Yeah. McGonagall dropped it off each afternoon.” He mumbles.

You frown, your brows furrowing when you see he’ll respond to hermione, but won’t say anything to you. He still won’t look at you.

“I’ll see you guys in class. I guess I wasn’t as hungry as I thought.” You say, standing up and fixing your robes before leaving the three.

Harry and hermione frown, watching after you as you leave while Ron just barely glances up to see you leave the hall altogether.

“It’s Draco, Ron. That explains it all.” You hear hermione say as Ron goes to say something, stopping when he sees you.

“Hey. Am I interrupting?” You ask, sitting down next to hermione.

Harry and hermione look at each other before looking down at Ron who’s taken to shoving food into his mouth.

You watch them, frowning when none of them give you answer, having fallen completely silent. You sigh, nodding.

“I just had a question, hermione, but I can ask you later. Sorry to bother all of you.” You say, feeling your throat start to hurt as you feel yourself wanting to cry.

It’s been a week since Ron left the hospital wing and he hasn’t said a word to you. He’s barely even looked at you, and it’s started to feel like you’re losing Harry and hermione as friends now too.

You can’t help but let out a small sob as you leave the great hall. You were losing your friends and you’re not even sure what you’ve done.

Back in your room you can’t help it and start crying. It hurt. It all hurt really bad. You four had been great friends since your first year and now you were losing them all for whatever reason. You’ve had so many great adventures and memories with them that you weren’t sure you could find anyone else like them. In all honesty, you didn’t want to find anyone else.

“I hate you, Ron Weasley. Why are you such a git?” You ask, realizing it started with him refusing to let you see him.

It’s been just about a month now and you’ve barely said more than twenty words to any of the trio. If they were so intent on kicking you out of the friend group then you were going to let them. Why try to hold onto something you’re not welcome in?

“Hey, y/n. How are you?” You hear hermione ask as she sits next to you on the bench your studying on.

“Hey. I’m fine. Not much happening lately.” You say, not bothering to look at her.

“What about you?” You ask, just barely glancing at her.

“I’m...good. Look, y/n, I know it’s all been pretty tense among us, but I don’t like not talking to you. I mean, we’re roommates, y/n, and we’ve barely said two words to each other this last month.”

“Yeah? Wonder why...”

“Y/n, you know how Ron is. Harry and I weren’t sure what we should say, but we’re tired of this. Ron is being a git and we’ve told him. We miss having you around.”

“It doesn’t really seem it, ‘mione. I see you three talking and laughing every day. You only stop whenever I get too close.”

Hermione sighs, realizing how hurt you must feel. She never wanted this to happen.

“I’m so sorry, y/n. Just, will you come sit with us at dinner tonight? Harry and I miss talking with you. We really do.”

“Sorry, ‘mione, but I’ve already got stuff going on. I won’t be going to dinner.”

“What do you have going on?”

“Well since you guys started excluding me I needed to find something to do. So I took up dueling.”

“Dueling? With who?” She asks more than surprised. You’ve never shown any interest in dueling, in fact when you practiced a bit in class a few years ago she distinctly remembers you saying you didn’t like how it felt fighting.

“Some older students. It doesn’t really matter, I just won’t be at dinner. Sorry, but I should probably get going.” You say, slamming your book closed and getting up.

“Rough day?” Talia asks, noticing your agitated look the moment you walk through the door.

“A bit, yeah.” You sigh, setting your bag down as Quentin places a hand on your shoulder.

“It’s alright, pipsqueak. You get to duel now and we all know how much fun you have with it.” He chuckles, ruffing up your hair as you smile.

You had gotten into this because you heard Talia, who you have astronomy with, talking about it with another of their friends. You couldn’t help but push into the conversation, asking all sorts of questions. Eventually she told you to just come check it out.

That next meeting for it, you had found out you’re actually not all that bad at it so you kept coming. Soon it was like a habit. You would go to classes, work on your homework, and then meet up with the six to seven students in years higher than you three times a week.

It was something to distract yourself from your friend group and something you could actually progress in which you always liked.

“Focus, y/l/n! You got to anticipate your partners attacks.” You hear one of the other students holler as you duel Talia.

“Watch it!” You hear Talia shout just after she casts a spell to which you weren’t paying attention to. You groan as your knocked back, hitting your head against the ground.

“Y/n! Oh godrick, I am so so sorry!” Talia says as you start to fall asleep.

You groan as you wake up, your eyes picking up on how bright the room you were in was. You furrow your brows as you don’t remember the dungeons ever being bright.

“Hello, dear. Glad to see you waking up.” You hear a woman call and you groan.

“Where am I? Why is it so bright?”

“You’re in the hospital wing, miss y/l/n. Had a nasty incident with dueling. Not sure why you would take that on as a hobby, but luckily for you I was able to counter the spell as well as help cure that concussion of yours.” You hear madame pomfrey say.

“Concussion?”

“Oh yes, dear. You probably don’t remember too much, but you got sick a few times. It’s no wonder considering miss Talia Wembley and mr Quentin Jacobs said you hit your head pretty hard when you fell back.”

“They’re some pretty good friend for getting me so quick.” She states.

“Yeah, I guess.” You hum, thankful for them, but knowing they aren’t the friends you’d like to be hearing about.

“Well you just rest for a bit. I’ll bring you some food in a bit.”

You nod, sighing as she leaves. A few minutes later you hear three easily recognizable voices talking with each other just outside the door.

“If you go in there you’re just going to upset her! She’s not happy with you. She’s not happy with any of us right now.” You hear hermione whisper shouting.

“I don’t care! I have to make sure she’s okay. She’s been out for two days.”

“I really don’t think that’s the smartest move right now, mate.” You hear Harry say in response to Ron.

You huff, closing your yes. You can’t believe these three.

“If you’re going to argue, maybe you should go somewhere I can’t hear you.” You snip, hearing all of them pause.

“Ron! Stop!” You hear hermione sigh, before you hear her hurried footsteps coming closer to the door as Ron steps into view.

“You’re awfully brave coming in here, Weasley. What makes you think I’d want to see you after you wouldn’t let me come visit you in here?”

“Are you dumb, y/n?” He asks, frowning at you.

“Excuse me?” You scoff, not believing he would dare say that to you.

“Dueling? Why would you take that up? Especially from other students and not a teacher.”

“Those ‘other students,’ Ron have become some of my friends since you three decided I wasn’t good enough to hang around you anymore. I was trying to move on. Not like I owe you any kind of explanation though.”

“We never said you weren’t good enough, y/n. Blimey!”

“Not outright, but you certainly made it clear enough.”

“We’re sorry, y/n. We really didn’t mean to.” Harry sighs, him and hermione standing a few feet behind Ron.

“It’s fine. It’s in the past, anyways. I’ve moved on, made other friends.”

“Godrick, y/n. Stop taking it out on Harry and hermione. I’m the one you should be mad at.” Ron sighs, running his hands through his hair in frustration.

“Oh I am. I’m livid at you, Ron, but I’ve decide to ignore it. Just like you ignored me.”

“For merlins sake, y/n. I’m sorry. You know I’m dumb! I didn’t know how to face you after the game.”

“Face me for what, Ron?! I just wanted to make sure you were okay! I was worried and you refused to let me see you for an entire week! And then you still wouldn’t look at me let alone talk to me when you got out! What was such an issue that you couldn’t face me?”

“I had looked at you when I got hit with that bludger.” He sighs, sitting down by your feet.

“Yeah? And?”

“Blimey, y/n. I like you and I was embarrassed. I wanted to prove that I was good at quidditch and then I lose focus because I saw you and I got knocked unconscious.” Ron rambles.

“I...what?” You ask, beyond confused.

He ignores you for an entire month all because he was too embarrassed for getting hit? How bloody dumb is this man?

“I was bloody embarrassed, y/n. I really wanted to impress you and I completely screwed it up. I never wanted to stop talking to you, I promise. I just couldn’t face you.”

“Why? What is it about me that you couldn’t face?”

“Hmm?” He hums, looking up at you with absolute confusion written on his face.

“Tell me what’s so scary about me, Ron. Did you think I’d be mad? Disappointed?”

He bites his lip, giving you your answer.

“You’re a bloody idiot, Ron. I wasn’t mad or disappointed at all. Least I wasn’t until you wouldn’t let me see you. I was so worried.” You sigh, crossing your arms.

“I’m sorry, y/n. And I’m sorry for calling you dumb. I just, you hated dueling when we had the lesson on it. Why would you go and learn it now?”

“I needed a distraction. Well, at first. Now I do kinda really like it, and I’m not half bad when I’m not distracted by my annoyance for you.”

He chuckles, gently grabbing hold of your hand, playing with your fingers.

“And if it helps reassure you any, I already know how good of a quidditch player you are. Have you forgotten I watched you play over the summer?”

He laughs, smiling up at you. He really is dumb if he avoided you for a month. You mean everything to him and yet he made you feel worthless.

“Can you forgive me for being a git?”

You think about it for a minute, watching him frown lightly before you chuckle.

“Of course I can, Ron, but you’re going to have to make up for the month.”

“Don’t you worry about it, beautiful. I’ve already been thinking about how.”

You chuckle and hold your arms out to hug him, relaxing into him as he wraps his arms right around your body, completely holding you to his chest. With just that hug you could tell how sorry he was and how much he loved you. It truly felt like he was holding onto you for his life and sanity.

“And for the record, I like you too, you dork.” You smile, watching as he chuckles before kissing your forehead.

This is totally Fairstairs in Paris - trying to forget, desperately hoping to find solace in each other's arms (who knows?). Paris at the turn of the century is a futuristic centre of Europe, it seems to hold all the answers and hope they need, they try to believe "past and present, they don't matter", but it's not true. Eiffel tower "wasn't gonna stay" and yet it's still here, and their past won't go away either. They're holding on to an illusion, not wanting to confront reality. If we go by interpreting Eiffel tower as a symbol of hubris, it gains even more meaning - because of Cordelia swearing fealty to Lilith, Matthew believing he can love and heal her like James couldn't.

As all the students saw Krum come up with Hermione, they cheered once more. Well, all the students except for Draco. He hadn’t seen you all day and he wondered if you had gotten sick, but as he watched the competitors of the Triwizard Tournament come up from the lake with their companions and friends, he started to wonder who Harry must have gotten. Ginny and Ron were watching, as well as Fred and George. Diggory came up with Cho, and Hermione had just come up. There weren’t many people it could’ve been and the majority of them had already come up or were cheering him on.

Except...

You.

The realization hit Draco like a truck. He started freaking out (internally of course, he had a reputation, after all.) “Hurry, Potter!” He said to himself. The clock was ticking and there was no way you could hold your breath for that long. Maybe it wasn’t you, maybe you were safe in your dorm with a minor fever, maybe he didn’t have to freak out after all. But then again, who else would it be? He had never pestered you about being friends with the golden trio but he felt it would do more harm than good. Nonetheless, he supported you and didn’t nitpick your friends, you were your own person.

As he wallowed in his thoughts, he heard thrashing from the water. Potter and Fleur came up without their counterparts. “I can’t find her!” they shouted in unison between breaths. You know what? Fuck his reputation. “Who? Who Potter?!” Draco shouted frantically. “Y/N!” Harry shouted. “And my little sister, Gabrielle! They’re somewhere at the bottom of the lake!” Fleur added. Draco wasted no time in taking off his shirt, socks, and shoes and jumping in after you (and hopefully Gabrielle). He swam for a while when he saw you and Gabrielle being held down under some sleeping spell by merpeople. He harshly kicked the merpeople away from both of you and they didn’t take that well. But before they could react, Draco was already swimming to the top with you and Gabrielle tucked under his arms.

Fleur thanked Draco profusely as she swam to retrieve her little sister from him. He nodded as he swam back to shore with you. As Draco got out, some other students helped you, Fleur, and Gabrielle out of the water. By this time you were awake, luckily, but you had a large gash on your leg. Draco picked you up bridal style to take you to Madam Pomfrey’s. “I’ll speak with you later, Potter.” Draco spat out bitterly towards the boy as he walked towards the castle with you in his arms. You whimpered when you accidentally bumped the wound on your leg with your hand. “Merlin, that hurt like a BITCH!” You yelled into his chest. “Shhh Darling, it’s alright. We’re gonna get you healed up, okay?” You nodded and nuzzled further into his chest. He pressed a kiss to the crown of your head as you neared the front of the castle.

“Draco, dear, could you pass that bandage over here?” Madam Pomfrey asked politely. Draco grabbed the bandage and handed it to her as she started to wrap up your leg. “While we did close the wound, it will still be weak for about 14 days.” Madam Pomfrey said to you. “For the time being, you are to wear this bandage and use these crutches.” You groaned but agreed. As soon as she was out of the room, Draco used the soles of his shoes on the wall to get his rolling chair to end up right at the side of your bed.

“Hey there, sweetheart, how are you feeling?” He grabbed your hand and kissed the back of it gently. “Very sore. And tired.” You pressed a finger to your chin, pretending to think. “And in need of cuddles.” You giggled and Draco smiled at the sound of it. “Are you sure? I don’t want to hurt you further.” He said cautiously. “Yes, I am indeed very sure Draco. Come here.” You held out grabby hands and made puppy eyes. How could he resist?! “Fine, but tell me if I’m hurting you in any way.” He said. He hated seeing you in pain except seeing you fight Pansy that one time was kinda hot and he wanted to make sure you were comfortable.

He climbed in the small cot and situated you both so he was on his back with your hand on his chest and your head in the crook of his neck he loved holding you literally so much. You felt comforted at his scent: green apples with a hint of dark chocolate and some cologne you had gotten him for his birthday. “You scared me so bad earlier, darling.” Draco said quietly. “I’m so sorry, Dray. The good thing is that I’m safe and okay and nothing can hurt me anymore.” You said and looked up at him. “How can you always find the positive side in things?” You both laughed quietly. “I just love you so much and I couldn’t bear losing you. You mean so much to me, doll.” A single tear dropped down his cheek as he held you closer. You reached up and wiped the tear. “It’s okay, sweetheart. I’m okay. I love you.” You said gently.

“How about we get some sleep? You’ve obviously had a pretty long day.” Draco joked and you nodded while giggling. You pulled the blue blanket Draco had gotten you from the Ravenclaw common room over the two of you. “You desperately need to tell Flitwick to create an actual passcode. It took me forever to figure out that riddle!” Draco complained. “What was the riddle?” you ask curiously. “How can you take 2 from 5 and leave 4?” He said. You thought for about 20 seconds. “Remove the 2 letters F and E from the word “five” and you have IV, which is 4 in roman numerals.” You said confidently. He groaned. “Seriously?! That took me like 15 minutes!” You both laughed and you let out a big yawn. “Goodnight, my love.” He kissed your hair and turned off the lamp beside you two. “Goodnight, Dray. Sweet dreams.” You kissed his neck. Before you fell asleep, you heard him say one last thing. “I love you, darling.”

savannah, who is 5'9, is constantly teasing aaron and cleo for being short. katelyn's good at 5'6, and also a bit impossible to tease bcs she's the actual best, so she gets to escape this

cleo ( 5'2 ) is perfectly delighted to have someone shorter than her for once in her life, even by only 2 inches

aaron: guys, just try and see this from my point of view

sav: [ collapses ]

katelyn: [ crouches down ]

cleo: [ sits cross-legged on floor ]

aaron: dude you're literally 2 inches taller than me

cleo: 2 and a quarter

sav is so smug about this but in a good-natured way, in that she and cleo call aaron "kid" or "kiddo" or "pipsqueak" and he doesn't mind bcs they always say it w such a huge smile and he likes to respond to sav with "how's the weather up there, tall-ass?"

and katelyn thinks it's ridiculously adorable how tiny aaron is and obviously she uses him as an armrest all the time

katelyn, petting aaron's hair: guys guys omg he's like an angsty mini blond kitten and i would kill for him <3

sav, popping up between them: mini-yard :))

before i get super distracted, i just wanna mention that aaron met sav and cleo towards the end of november, so they missed the twin's birthday

but sav still insists that she must take him shopping bcs sure his fashion sense is fine but there's always room for improvement, isn't there, aaron??

he relents, so long as she and cleo and katelyn ( who already gave him a birthday present?? why's she doing this??? ) don't spend too much money

sav drags him all around south carolina to the best thrift stores she can find and cleo and katelyn are amazed that she can get such fantastic deals on the supermodel clothes she wears

fr she's literally a fashion design major ( + minoring in business management ) and she shows up to class in skilfully done drugstore makeup and an absolutely killer outfit for like 15 bucks

she grew up poor, and she's still poor now, even if she ( thankfully ) managed to scrape a cheerleading scholarship

sav, flicking through a rack of dresses labelled $4 apiece: RIP to little miss rich bitch reynolds but i'm different ;)

no hate to allison she's awesome but she grew up in the lap of luxury surrounded by designer brands so she knows NOTHING about thrifting and rationing money in general

oh and sav and allison have kind of a frenemies thing going on bcs they're both fighting for the top spot of their fashion design course

they spend the whole day shopping and aaron ends up with a highly upgraded wardrobe that contains a lot of cute pastel stuff and sav's promise to do his makeup

aaron insists on paying for dinner at the really nice pizza place a short drive from campus even tho they all protest

and andrew knows he's found new friends, but has no idea that it's the vixens and he's dating one of them. nicky does tho, but he's sworn to secrecy

nicky thinks his new clothes are adorable and is stunned when aaron tells him the total cost

"oh my GOD that girl sounds like a genius."

"yeah, her name's sav. you guys,, would get along, i think."

okay now for the winter break part!!

i think that you can get permission to stay at dorms if you're an international student or something??

anyways since sav's super upset bcs her father straight-up told her not to come home bcs he has a new girlfriend ( god i hate sav's father )

katelyn would stay with her, but her dad can finally have her home in new york for christmas and she really doesn't want to miss it

cleo, the only one with a properly functional family, is going back to her big family house and loving parents and grandma and aunt and siblings and cousins. love that for her.

so aaron and sav are stuck at psu for 2 weeks and aaron's surprisingly cool with this. and sav's excited bcs for the first time since her mom died, she can spend her christmas with someone she actually wants around instead of her shitty-ass father and his constant stream of bitchy girlfriends

they spend a lot of time together, stealing food from the athlete's dining hall to make their own weird combos, which usually ends with aaron making something Cool and Interesting and sav gagging and spitting out whatever strange concoction she had previously insisted would taste good

i literally can't bring myself to give a shit about the twinyards' deal bcs andrew literally became best friends with renee?? and hooks up with guys at eden’s??? idk what's going on there but it's like andrew is trying to control aaron's life while he can do whatever he wants??? and honestly wtf????

also let me just make it clear that i ADORE andrew so so much he's one of my favourite comfort characters ever but i'm not gonna make excuses for his shitty behaviour. i fully believe he heals and puts away his pride to apologise to aaron, nicky, and kevin for his treatment of them

that's definitely not to say that aaron's internalised homophobia isn't eww, but with so many important people in his life gay, he makes a huge effort to get over it

so andrew just thinks that aaron is spending a lot of time in the library or out with nicky or something

and when aaron tells sav about this deal, she's kinda horrified, but it's pretty clear to her that aaron so desperately wants to fix his relationship with his brother, and she's not in any place to discourage him, is she?

the only thing she can do is hope that he won't come out all the worse for it

and stare at the boy curled up on the other end of the pale pink sofa cleo's parents had gotten, wonder just how much shit he'd been put through, and decide she was going to be his best friend

aaron's face has gone entirely impassive. sav nudges his fluffy-socked foot with her own, then reaches out to smooth the crease between his eyebrows. "careful, you'll wrinkle your pretty little face."

aaron is very caught off guard by this, and very promptly flushes bright red, which contrasts with the pale teal hoodie he stole from katelyn

"okay, enough talk about depressing crap. wanna go make christmas cookies now?"

"yeah."

so they make christmas cookies. well, it was supposed to be christmas cookies, but it turns into double chocolate fudge cookies somewhere along the line. neither of them knows how

them baking together is the definition of chaos. they're still blasting songs, and sav is singing along terribly

"yOu'Re A mEaN oNe, Mr. GrInCh," while poking aaron's cheek as he tries to mix something. he throws a handful of flour at her. "yOu ReAlLy ArE A hEel."

anyways obviously sav retaliates and that ends in a flour fight. it only stops when aaron deadass cracks an egg on sav's head and she smears chocolate into his hair

she also tries to make him sing along to baby, it's cold outside

"i'Ve GoT tO Go `wAAyyy~" she holds a spatula up to his face

"go away."

they video call katelyn, who takes one look at the mess in the cramped dorm kitchen and sighs so loudly and dramatically that her dad pops in and asks if everything's okay

aaron freezes up at the sight of him and sav quickly turns off the camera, bcs they both want to make good impressions on him, and being covered in various cookie ingredients just won't cut it, ya know?

the cookies turn out delicious and sav sends all their group chat various photos of the process, most of which consist of selfies with her making goofy faces while aaron is simultaneously baking and flipping off the camera

plus a several videos of sav enthusiastically dancing and mouthing the lyrics of, as follows, all i want for christmas is you, let it snow, and santa claus is coming to town and aggressively pointing a spatula at aaron

"c'mon aari, just sing! please??? please???? please you can do it i believe in you!!"

finally he just. gives up. "okay, you know what? fine, i'll sing to ONE and then you will STOP bothering me you insolent dumbass."

sav beams. santa baby starts playing. aaron is very clearly going through five stages of grief in 0.5 seconds

"go on," sav says sweetly as she slides in next to a pouting aaron, "i'll sing with you."

sav slings an arm around his shoulder and sways with him, so it's just her doing that and him grumpily mumbling the lyrics

and when the cookies are cooling down, they start cleaning the kitchen up. aaron rubs some spilled egg yolk into sav's hair but it goes pretty okay otherwise, since they're just listening to more christmas songs and chatting about light stuff, like aaron's biochem course, sav's fashion course, and their dumb classmates

aaron mostly listens tho, and learns that sav kind of hates allison reynolds for giving up her inheritance when she would do ANYTHING for even the tiniest fraction of that money

but she still thinks allison's gorgeous bcs c'mon

and that sav's dream is to one day open her own boutique!!

aaron spends most of the actual christmas day with the monsters at eden's bcs nicky and andrew wanted to
