OKAY SO I LOVE WHEN PPL USE NAMES LIKE OC BUT ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING LIKE “ella” OR “emily” OR “lola” JUST PLS LOOK UP MORE COOL, EVEN GENDER NEUTRAL NAMES. for example, space or nature themed names are always nice! (ex. star, jupiter, clove, breeze/breezy, galaxy, nova, sparrow, solstice, etc.)
my second point, not everyone’s last name is “smith” or “jones”, look up uncommon last names and pick from the list! i understand it can be difficult to be creative, but with safari and google it takes maximum 20 clicks to come up with a fun, unique name.
ofc it’s okay to use something like “emily smith” once, twice if you’re lucky, but it’s a very basic name and doesn’t engage your readers. oc’s with unique names get so much more attention because the character’s name gets them engaged in the beginning. work smart, not hard ;)

a/n: OKAY IDEA THAT IM GONNA WRITE A BLURB ON- this was inspired by a lady i saw on tiktok that was showing you how to drain your lymph nodes i know weird but bear with me. also i promise i’m working on requests, i’m doing my best! i’m depressed and swamped with school and i’m doing my best to get them all out to you guys! i tried to make this as gender, race, and size inclusive as possible!

It was about 7:30 pm as you sat on your couch, trying to clear your lymph nodes since you’d been feeling tense recently and this was supposed to relieve stress. You were watching some random show on tv while JJ made some dinner, humming to himself.
He places a bowl of soup on the coffee table for you and sits down on the couch. At this point you’re almost done your little lymph node thing. You finished, feeling much more relaxed, and looked over to JJ. He looked confused but interested. “Watcha doing?” he asks. “It’s hard to explain... here.”
You cross your legs and sit, facing him, while gesturing for him to do the same. You bring your fingertips up to his face and start gently dragging them from the tops of his eyebrows to his temples. He shuts his eyes and relaxes all his muscles, not realizing how tense they’d been.
He opened his eyes to look at you when your fingertips switched to under his eyes. You had your hair up out of your face, something he’d always liked on you. You wore a black sweatshirt and some soft shorts you’d gotten from target. He reached forward and messed with the hem of your shorts as you moved your fingertips once again.
After you were done your process, you removed your fingertips from his jaw. “There you go! All done!” You smiled. It really had only taken a minute, even though it felt like way longer. You grabbed your bowl of soup and started eating, drawing your attention back to the show you were watching prior to helping JJ.
JJ still didn’t take his eyes off you. “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” You look over and giggle at JJ in his little trance. “You’re beautiful.” he says. “I don’t tell you that enough but you really are.” You set your now empty bowl down on the coffee table. “Thank you, bub. I really appreciate you.” You say and smile.
JJ gets up and crawls over to lay on top of you. “JJ, I can barely breathe!” You giggle and he just digs his head deeper into the crook of your neck. “I love you!” He says into your neck an you giggle, pecking his forehead.

quick little rant...
people wonder why women seem to be diagnosed with adhd way older than men: it’s because doctors and therapists only really recognize male symptoms.
when they were testing people to find out what adhd (and autism) were, they only tested on men, making it way harder for women to get diagnosed. add in societies standards that women are “too emotional” and kids calling you loud and annoying, you’ve got tons of girls masking, leading to a harder diagnosis.
do you even KNOW how easy it is to lie to doctors and therapists about how you’re feeling? it’s so easy and many people do it. even when you don’t lie, some doctors or therapists still won’t diagnose you cause you don’t have predominantly male symptoms.
so yeah, it’s okay to “self diagnose” adhd if you have a bunch of the symptoms, just don’t misuse the term and don’t falsely diagnose yourself for attention. it’s the same thing as self diagnosing a cold.
now that only applies to certain mental issues. you shouldn’t really self diagnose with more severe mental issues, but it’s okay to say “i’m feeling depressed” or “i think i have anxiety” or stuff like that.
