Hylics: A game so weird its actually rad
I initially discovered this game through a video talking about weird indie rpgmaker games, and boy am i happy that i looked into the game after i found it. before we start, i have some links to share if you don't want to read a long text post.
ok, now with that out of the way, lets talk about Hylics. First things first, the art style. hylics is, first and foremost, a mixed media art piece. it largely is comprised of digitized clay models, 2d art, and 3d models.
its music, as far as i am aware, is handmade, and BOY is it good. as I write this, i am actually listening to it (specifically the 0-0 area). it is made of, as far as i am aware, chill jazz beats, wild guitar, some guy making awful horrible noises, and ambiance.
I feel that, if you are still paying attention, you should totally buy it right now. it's supporting an indie dev, and its only 1.67 (as of right now)
right, now, for a list of subversions.
combat is from a first person perspective
most npcs speak randomized gibberish
the "Intro" is also gibberish
everything is hard, nothing is given to you
I know this is mostly a load of pseudo-intellectual "ooH thIs GaMe SubVerTs All ThE TroPeS NoOne'S DonE ThIs " But please hear me out.
This game is rad, please check it out.
If you want more good games, check out my cool list:
Have a fine day, thank you for your time, don't die.

too many of you guys think nico is the loser and not lewis for letting the divorce go on for so long. like they're both losers about each other. emotionally constipated idiots who can't talk about their toxic homoerotic friendship that imploded on itself like 8 years ago and are now making it everyone else's problem. yeah nico's on television or in beer gardens talking about lewis all the time but like every other month some reporter is like "lewis, what's your favorite moment in your career?" and lewis no hesitation is like "oh man, karting, y'know? everything was simpler then" and then spends another six months skirting around nico's name. like this whole thing they're doing in the media isn't some kinda extended foreplay for them. they're both still pressing on the bruise to make sure it's still there!!! every few months, they're literally just asking on public television, does it still hurt for you like it does for me? and like clockwork, someone will release new information about them or one of them will say something about each other (in my heart, he's still my best friend/yes... and teammate) and the answer will remain the same, yes, of course, always.

if i was president of fanfiction it would be required that before anybody writes fanfiction set in s4 of tma they must answer my comprehension test which is comprised of only one question “how do you feel about basira hussain” and if they answer wrong theyre immediately sentenced to 50 years of hard labor in the salt mines

I'm an "AroAce Stereotype"
I'm Romance averse/Repulsed>
I'm Sex repulsed
I'm non-partnering
I hate the idea of marriage in all forms
I don't want a QPR at all
I'm loveless
I'm someone who gets uncomfortable at sexual talk and sex jokes
I'm someone who often has innuendos or sexual concept fly over my head.
I'm someone who can't tell when someone is flirting with me
I'm someone who can't pick up on romantic or sexual tension
I'm someone who finds "shipping" to be annoying
I'm someone who says "They just seem like friends to me"
I'm someone who believed that attraction could be turned on or off
I'm someone who can't make sense of romance at all and cant figure out what makes it different from every other relationship.
I'm someone who thinks romance is stupid and sex is gross and I don't understand the big deal everyone makes about it
I'm someone who never was upset to find out I was AroAce but rather relieved as I have a genuine fear of being stuck in a romantic relationship that i do not want.
In all cases I am not an AroAce who can be considered "normal" by the standards of allo society.
I'm not just a stereotype for you to shit on.
I'm not the reason aphobes are aphobic
I'm not a problem that you need to erase and refute to be accepted by allos.
I'm not an experience that you and ignore as "not really how aspec people are" just because You are not part of it.
Stop leaving us behind. Stop throwing us under the bus. We deserve support too. We deserve to not be demonized and shunned because we're an "stereotype". We are not the problem. We are not a problem to be fixed. start fighting aphobes on their logic instead of trying to make up for our existence.

I'm at that part of chapter three my friends, so let me be a reminder that Colm O'Driscoll's plan to lure in Dutch after taking Arthur failed because nobody came looking for him.
He would have died being held captive any longer, he barely escaped.
The gang did not come for Arthur.

Don’t think I ever quite said what my LGBTQ+ headcanons are for the boys, so these are my current thoughts! Always changing of course but this is what I feel most strongly right now.

Being a batfam fan is funny because people will make a post like “here’s my headcanon-“ and it’s just something that’s directly canon to the story then post about major canon events and get everything wrong.

correct me if im wrong but im PRETTY sure that for something to be a proper sequel it needs more than literally just reusing the same world and character models and slightly altering their design or adding an ability (that they got somwhere in between which isnt shown nor elaborated on either while previous abilities or interests/knowledge vanish)
made the mistake of saying that really totk isnt a sequel bc it doesnt build on, nor expand nor elaborate nor continue anything from botw, its the same preset of basic things like ... world and character models and tells an entirely different story utterly disconnected from anything botw, which it not only acts like it never happened (aside from like one dialog which is not enough for me when everyone else has literally forgotten everything and tbh feels more like a reference thats actually a slap and laugh in your face) but often times actively contradicts it, like a different version of the same thing
which is called an alternative universe
half of the reasons why i despise totk is bc i wanted, expected and was TOLD its a sequel when it isnt, can you really blame me for being disappointed and frustrated when i was told its a sequel, which should build on established stuff, to a game and its lore i deeply cared about and then get an alternative universe game that has nothing to do with the one i cared about except wear its face and STILL get told its a sequel even just by simply reusing models

I don’t understand where is meaness towards me is coming from. I don’t think I did anything wrong to anyone. But if I have, please let me know. I’m genuinely just trying to help people. But it’s very difficult to do when people are yelling at you through the internet…
I never intended to upset or anger anyone. I’m greatly apologize if I did.

this is sort of pathetic, but when you were younger, you were sort of puzzled by the cartoon representations of fathers: how a kid would be outside with a mitt, waiting to play catch.
it's not that your father never played catch with you, but you also didn't like when he did. something about a hard ball coming quickly towards your face doesn't seem exciting. not that you'd ever say you don't trust him. you trust him, right?
it's not like he never tried to teach you anything. or never tried to parent. on rare days, a strange person would walk in your father's skin. bright, happy, magnificent. this version of your father was so cheerful and charismatic that you would do anything to keep him. and this is the version of your father that would laugh and gently coax you try again. this is the version of your father that would break down the small elements of a problem and point them out so you have an easier time with them.
as a kid, those days happened more often. but somewhere around 11, you started being too much of a person, and he was often cross about it. when he'd try to sit you down to learn something, you spent the whole time with your shoulders around your ears, nervous, uncertain. terrified because you didn't immediately understand how to navigate something. worried you will run out of his goodwill and then you will have the Other Father back, and you will have ruined a good day for your entire family. something about you being visibly afraid - it just made him angry. he would accuse you of not wanting to learn and storm away.
on tv, it's not like there's a lot of versions of men-who-are-mostly-fathers. they can be good dads, but usually their stories are not told in the household. so it's normal that your father is there, but he's never around. you know he was in the house, somewhere, it's just not that you guys ever... "hung out". he just seemed to get kind of bored of you, annoyed you weren't made in his perfect image. frustrated with how much energy it took to raise a kid. over time, you kind of adopt a bittersweet band around your throat - he knows nothing about me. he says at least i never abandoned my family.
and it's technically - technically - true. he was there for you. sometimes he even made an effort and made it to the big moments; the graduations and the dance recitals. he grins and tells everyone that he taught you. it almost erases the days in between, where he complains because you need a ride to school. the weeks that go by where he doesn't actually ever speak to you. the times you say i am struggling and he says figure it out on your own. i can't help you.
and that's fine! that's all fine. you can call him if you are having a problem with your car. or if you need a ride to the hospital. he loves playing hero, he just doesn't like the actual work that comes with being a father. and you've kind of made your peace with that; because you had to, because you don't want to live your life like he does; the whole world at a managed distance, a little rotating and controlled orb he can witness and take credit for but never truly love.
as an adult, you are rewatching some dumb cartoon - and again, the child standing in the rain, with a mitt, waiting for their father to come play catch. as an adult, there's this strange creeping dread - this little thing? this little thing, and their dad can't even show up for that? oh god, holyshit, it's not about the mitt, is it. oh god, holyshit, your father spent most of your life leaving you hanging.

Taylor's got to be really weird to watch right? from what I understand, she doesn't really show much on her face, which is why the Alexandria situation went like that.
“We’ve seen how Alexandria handles interrogations,” Defiant said. “She reads microexpressions. Shapes every statement and action to get the responses she wants.”
is the big thing. Alexandria didnt consider that Taylor doesn't always react in a visible way, even to Alexandria, because of her power. Because part of consciousness is always with her bugs, a lot of Taylor's reactions get offloaded to the bugs she's controlling. Thats what happened at the end of 22.1, when all the bugs are on the window and Miss Militia realises she can hear through the bugs, because the bugs are clearly reacting to the conversation. However, Alexandria doesn't take that into account, and because of it reads Taylors wrong and overplays, which pisses Taylor off enough to kill her and Tagg both. At least, I think that's what happened.
When we see Quinn Calle latter, he says she was very quiet while killing two people. And I recall there's another time with the Chicago Wards where they're all waiting and she's completely still because she's focused on her bugs.
I don't know where I was going with this. Taylor Hebert you are so weird and I love you for it.

The Mario movie thing is so funny to me. Here, look at this:
Sonic movies (1, 2, & w/ 3 on the way) come out, does INCREDIBLE in box office, decimates Marvel films, who previously had a stranglehold
Nintendo sees this, wants a piece of that pie, buckles down to make a Mario movie Incorrect order of events, as pointed out here! Mario movie announced before the public knew about Sonic movie.
(Potentially because the previous Mario movie was so out there, did poorly, & was disliked by fans & then promptly forgotten,) they pair with Illumination, a studio that is largely known for making very sterile films
Btw, is it just me that finds it weird that there is no mention from Nintendo or online of the previous movie, in all this? Maybe I'm the only one who remembers this film idk
They announce casting. Everyone immediately boos because they cast Chris Pratt as Mario.
Immediate outrage, as Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario for DECADES, was not cast in his claim to fame roll
There is a (unsourced) rumor that a test screening for the film was met with disappointment, making Nintendo unhappy
Slightly corroborating this, Nintendo buys Dynamo Pictures, to make Nintendo Pictures, with the intent to make future movies in-house
Anticipation for the movie likens it to other sterile animated movies of the last 10 years, like the Minions movies
Trailer comes out.
People continue to boo Chris Pratt, a bad cast for a beloved character who is putting 0 effort into his voice, in comparison to all other VAs putting in 110%
Chris Pratt goes to bed "depressed," at seeing the response I was incorrect, that is an older article, about when he was thanking his wife for providing a healthy child, to which people drew immediate parallels to his ex-wife's son, who has many health complications & needed many surgeries.
But with your help, we can make him being depressed after media backlash reality!
Lol, &, may I say, lmao.
