Today is Intersex Day of Remembrance, also known as Intersex Solidarity Day, which was first celebrated in 2005 on the initiative of Intersex International. The date coincides with the birthday of Herculine Barbin, a 19th century French intersex figure whose memoirs were later published by Michel Foucault. Today is a day to draw attention to the struggle for intersex rights, whose issues are often overlooked, even within the LGBTIQ+ community.

The violent nature of the socially constructed sex and gender binary is perhaps most clearly exposed in the existence of intersex people. The struggles for both intersex and transgender liberation are deeply interconnected and intertwined. True liberation for queer people isn’t possible without the liberation of intersex people from the forced gender and sex binaries of our society.

Hi, I'm a second year psychology student doing research on how queer people view others within the LGBTQ+ community.

Its just a short task and survey that should take 5-10minutes to complete, any participation is appreciated! Thank you!

Extra clarrification on some things under the cut :)

In this study we use the words "(gender) conforming" to mean anyone thats not part of the LGBTQ+ community and "(gender)non-conforming" for anyone that is. This was suggested to help us code the results better, but we now know that this may have overcomplicated things.

The first part of the study involves an IAT, for some people they will be put into the "positive, conforming" conditioin first and others will be the "positive, nonconforming" first. It may seem scewed, and some people have bought up that it can seem bias, but that is just how this type of test works- it has been used and tested in many other studies and has not shown internal bias.

These are the main two points people have bought up, feel free to ask any other questions about this research though I will be happy to try and answer as much as I can :)

i've brought this up before i'm sure, but byakuya being sooo self-involved during the ss arc and so myopically obsessed with rukia's execution and how it relates to him and makes him feel etc... that he just doesn't clock the massive government conspiracy going down opens such a juicy can of worms for characterization.

#i'm into the read that his behavior just stems from being the only son of the richest family in the soul society and how that upbringing #presents itself which is almost always this kind of convoluted selfishness. he has this surface level of respect for ichigo and his #fighting abilities. but a deeper more personal respect for how he had a hand in building his relationship with rukia.#or marrying a woman that looks like him/ getting close with her sister who looks and acts like him “you pointed your blade at my pride”#in all his relationships he tends to gravitate towards individuals that display that hot-blooded mercurial temperament he possesses before #he adopted that stoic demeanor. and if u follow that line of thinking even further self-involved ->#surrounds himself with his own reflections #then the fact that he doesn't get along or like any of the other characters that have a noble background could open another can of worms #on his own feelings of nobility #just my two cents tho #byakuya #byakuya kuchiki #💭
