I’m doing it my way… I don’t apologize and I sure the hell don’t care what others think of how I live my life!

Hey, if you’re chronically ill/disabled, and especially if your illness is invisible, don’t forget: you’re fighting for you. Your priority is taking care of yourself. It’s hard when people don’t believe you, or don’t understand your symptoms. It’s tempting to focus on convincing them that your suffering is real. But you have limited energy, and if you spend it all on other peoples’ needs you’ll run out before you can take care of yourself. Their lack of understanding or empathy is their own problem. Sometimes convincing people is part of taking care of yourself - you need to convince your doctor that you’re sick, your work/school you need accommodations, sometimes your guardian to take you to appointments, etc. But please, remember that convincing people you need support is not your goal, it’s a step towards reaching your goal. Your goal is to make sure that you’re ok. When people don’t believe you, it’s frustrating, unfair, hurtful. But if you focus on that you will never get to where you need to be. Focus on what you need, and how to get it. You only need people to believe you if they hold authority over the resources you need. At the end of the day, you know what you feel is real, and you know what you need. That is your focus. Don’t let anyone take your focus away from you.
Positive affirmations to help with this:
People can only meet you as deeply as they’ve met themselves.
I am at peace because I know I’m on the right path.
My body is my responsibility, and I do what’s best for me.
I know where my energy needs to go and I put it there.
I am learning the beauty that comes with taking care of myself.
Growth is not equated to situations that bring conflict or stress, I can drop things that aren’t serving me.
The world doesn’t shrink to their size just because they lack the depth to understand it.
I don’t expect peace from people who are at war with themselves.
I respect my own needs.
I am winning my battles even if not everyone can see my scars.

I have to realize that as I make these changes for the betterment of my life, I am going to miss out on things. I have my goals and the lifestyle of others may not fit those goals. This might mean declining invitations or not being invited at all. This might mean many days alone, doing the things necessary to move forward. It might even mean feeling lonely. And that is okay. Staying focused on my goals is important. If that means finding other activities that do fit my goals then so be it. I am doing a lot of things for myself and I will not let FOMO ruin what I am aiming for.

Does anyone have any tips on things you can do while writing? I noticed I’ve been drawing more recently because I’ll play YouTube videos in the background and between the two activities, I actually stay pretty focused and get quite a bit of drawing done.
I’m wanting to write more. I have a fanfic specifically that I really want to write but I can’t seem to stay focused long enough to get much done. I’m wanting to somehow replicate what I did with drawing where I’m also doing/enjoying another activity at the same time so my attention stays longer, but I can’t think of an activity that wouldn’t conflict with writing. I don’t think I could play YouTube videos because I can’t go on autopilot with writing like I can drawing, I need to be actively focusing on writing to do it and I think YouTube videos I would either focus all on writing and not be listening to the video, or be only listening to the video and not be writing at all. I can’t think of any activity that wouldn’t cause an issue like this.
I’ve also thought of listening to music, but idk, I feel like lyrical songs might cause a similar problem, and instrumental songs won’t hold my attention enough
Anyone have any recommendations?

Day 254, Don't Think I'll Finish On Time
I’ve been working so hard for a couple of weeks now on a rug I want to send with Wayne to the Denton Pickers Festival but I don’t think I’m going to be done on time. There’s still a few days so we’ll see. I have some rag rugs and rag rug bowls and other hooked rugs to send along and one or two latch hook rugs too and the art cuffs and charms and paintings so there’s plenty I just really thought…

I don't wanna speak too much on my irl life and tbh I'm going to make it a habit not to do so unless it's pets, hobbies, or Vegeta related.
I still wanna share stuff on certain philosophy and religious stuff and for my own sanity I'll avoid posting vices. Including nsfw.
I'm gonna change my life for the better though. regardless of my irl successes. You don't need to know my life story to get me.
Just saying all that to not do what I was going to or not think what I was going to think.
