Well... aren't you a pretty doll? Pt3
Army Soldier Midoriya Izuku x Secretary Reader
Tumblr media
Context: After having spilt your drink on the man, you finally meet him for dancing.
Note: Set in the 1940s/1950s
[PART 2] [Well... aren't you a pretty doll- Masterlist] [PART 4]
“Isn’t he just grand, mother?” You asked as you washed the dishes, watching your Midoriya stand by the railing outside as he talked to your father. The two of them had been out there for a while and you weren’t exactly sure how it was going but considering your father hadn’t pulled out his shotgun yet, you assumed it was going just splendid.
Your mother chuckled as she took the cloth and started drying the newest dishes you had laid out. “Your father seems to have taken a liking to him. He seems really well spoken.”
“Oh he is.” You let out excited looking at her. “He’s so smart too! He speaks like one of those science professors on the TV. He’s so kind and gentle.” You sighed as you thought about him and how much he treated you like a lady. How he’d hold open the door for you, always accompany you back home, almost always refused to stay the night because he wanted to make sure he always had the right intentions.
Your mother looked at you with an amused knowing look before giggling. This was the third visit that Midoriya had to your parent’s house, it got better and better everytime. Although he had met your family on other occasions, a few times when you had dragged him to church on a Sunday. “How long have the two of you been courting again?”
You sighed. “A whole nine months so far, but I get so worried.” You settled your hands in the warm water with the sponge resting on one of the plates. “Especially when he’s sent somewhere, to another base or on a rotational. I get so worried, war changes men.”
Your mother hummed as she moved over beside you. She wrapped her arms around you with a gentle smile. “It does, but it also makes them all the more eager to get back to the things they care about the most.” Your mother placed her arms around you as she gave you a hug from behind. “Don’t worry dear.” She spoke softly. “With the way that man looks at you, I don’t think there is anything that will keep him away.”
You smiled at the observation she had. You trusted her wholeheartedly. You leaned back and gave her hand a squeeze before finishing off the dishes. It was starting to get late and you knew that it wasn’t advised to drive in the dark, but Midoriya did have friends in high places that seemed to let him do such.
Your father walked into the house first, moving to pick up the paper as he leaned back to read the paper on his recliner. Walking in after him was Midoriya, who closed the door behind him and walked over into the kitchen. He leaned against the doorway, hands in his pants pockets as he did so. “Ready to go doll?”
You nodded as you picked up your ration book and put it in your sling bag that you had brought with you. “I am.” You stood up and gave your mother a hug, placing a kiss on her cheek. “I’ll ring you later, mother.”
“Please do, and stay well. Remember to block out your windows at night.” She stated as she moved closer to watch the both of you head out. “Goodnight, Mr Midoriya.”
Midoriya nodded his head to your mother. “Goodnight, Mrs L/N. Have a good evening, and stay safe.”
You quickly moved over to your father, kissing his cheek. “Goodbye Daddy, I’ll see you soon.”
He looked up at you, and besides being the stoic man he was, he mustered up a smile just for you and kissed your cheek back, before lifting up the paper to focus on it. “Bye.” You giggled but let him be as you made your way over to Midoriya.
“Goodbye Mr L/N.” Midoriya waved to your father, who only gave him a grunt in return, making you giggle.
Midoriya moved to put his hand to the curve of your back, as he walked you both outside. You walked down the steps of your house. Midoriya moved to open your door for you, allowing you to step inside before heading inside the driver’s seat himself. With a turn of the keys, the engine came to life and the both of you head down the road heading back into town.
You smiled as you looked at your house in the rearview mirror before turning to look at Midoriya in the low light of the evening. The sky was dimming and was turning from a dark orange to a purple. His dark green hair had soft waves of his curls slipping out of the gel that was supposed to keep his hair neat and slicked back. A single curl fell on his forehead, making him look just dashing.
You adjusted your seating as you faced him. “What did you and daddy talk about?”
He glanced at you before chuckling. He pat your thigh gently. “Nothing to worry your little head about.”
“Nothing to worry my little head about?” You asked surprised at the statement. “Well if you’re talking to my father, I sure am worried.”
He laughed at your concern but found it endearing. He glanced over to you. “It was just guy talk, Y/N. Nothing bad, just a conversation between two men.”
“About?”
“The future.”
“What about the future?”
Izuku chuckled at all your questions as he moved to take your hand that was closest to him. He raised it to his mouth and kissed it gently making you ease. “Have I ever told you how much I love how inquisitive you are?”
You tried to fight a flush to your cheeks as you took your hand and looked out the window. “Don’t try and distract me, Izuku.”
His smile broadened to a grin at the way you said his given name. One that he treasured. “I promise you doll,” His eyes stayed forward, watching the road. “It was a good talk. A very good one and soon you’ll understand.” He told you. You hummed, deciding to trust him as you relaxed into your seat. He glanced over at you before smiling at your resting face. “Did you miss home?”
You nodded your head with a soft smile. “Always. But I mostly miss the familiarity of home. I’ve always wanted a house just like it.” You revealed to him with a smile. “The white railing, the washing line outside-”
“The three chickens for eggs in the morning.”
You looked at him with wide excited eyes, so glad he understood where you were getting to. He chuckled in amusement, nodding his head, showing his understanding. “It’s all I’ve ever wanted! And a kitchen too! A proper one that looks right out to the lawn. And neighbours to wave good morning to everyday.” You leaned back with a dreamy sigh. “Wouldn’t that just be a dream?”
Izuku looked at you, his expression eased. “It would… Hey doll, I’ll be a bit busy for the rest of this coming week.” He told you. “But I’ll see you Friday at your place. I promised I would take you somewhere nice.”
You smiled at the fact that he remembered his promise. “You did.”
“I did, and a promise is a promise. I just gotta get all my ducks in a row.” He informed you.
You nodded your head. “I understand. Don’t worry about me.” You put your hand on his shoulder. “You do whatever you have to do. I’ll be here.”
And Midoriya knew you meant it. Which is why he was so sure about what he had planned.
“Congratulations Midoriya. Your promotion is one you should be proud of.” Sargent Aizawa said as Midoriya stood in front of him in his office. He stood up straight and proper like a good soldier as his sargent looked over the papers in front of him. “You’ve worked hard for it and in a short amount of time too. You just keep on rising.”
“Thank you, Sarge.” He said with a gentle smile, knowing Aizawa wouldn’t mind his eased posture when they were alone.
Aizawa looked over the papers in front of him. He sighed, putting them down on his desk. “First Kirishima, then you, at this rate, I’ll have none of my soldiers in the barracks.” He let out with a shake of his head. “You’re moving out. Why?” He asked as he joined his hands together.
Midoriya seemed to visibly soften, which made Aizawa raise an eyebrow. “I have a woman, sir. She’s…” Midoriya couldn’t think of words just at the pure thought of you. His smile broadened as he looked down at the wooden floors. “She’s the most beautiful woman I have ever met in my life. She’s smart and funny, strong in her own way too. She’s so supportive of me. She has a smile that shines like the sun and I… I mean to marry her, Sarge. I’ve talked to her father and he’s given me permission. I just… I don’t wanna die knowing that she isn’t mine.”
Aizawa stared at the young man in front of him. “Wow, Midoriya. Here you almost have me blushing. She’s Enji’s secretary isn’t she? I’ve seen you two sneaking around the base like two high schoolers.” Midoriya’s face bloomed pink as he straightened up. Aizawa opened up a drawer pulling out his stamp. “A little word of advice, marry that girl as soon as yesterday, Midoriya. The war isn’t getting better.” Midoriya’s expression didn’t change. He knew. Being close to All Might, meant he knew certain things that were above his pay grade but it also meant he got to plan ahead. Aizawa lifted up his stamp, pressing it onto the ink pad before pushing it onto the paper. “If you want someone to mourn you when you die, make sure to do so. The government will take care of her if anything happens to you. And should the war turn south-”
“Nukes, sarge?”
Aizawa looked up at the emotionless expression on Midoriya’s face. Aizawa knew that Midoriya knew a lot. It was the reason why he was in so many high level meetings. He was smart, an exceptional strategist and someone that provided more good plans than bad ones. He was the reason they were holding on where they were. He was someone who All Might would save over the president himself.
Aizawa let out a grunt, answering Midoriya’s question enough. “Should a fallout happen, with the future of this country in mind, all you high ranking married young ones will be on the first train out of the trenches and on the first ship to Okinawa.”
“Okinawa?” Midoriya saw the look on the sergeants face and knew that it was self explanatory if he thought about it. His eyebrows furrowed but he nodded. “Yes, sarge.”
“My point being, Midoriya.” He signed off on the last document. “Marry that girl and make sure you take my rations when you do. She makes amazing scones and I’d like to have some.”
Midoriya paused before chuckling and nodding. “Yes, sarge.”
“Where are you going to stay?”
“I’ve saved up enough for the deposit on a house sarge, but I’m thinking of just a larger apartment for now. That way we can save up if I ever- when I’m gone off.”
Aizawa nodded. “Good. You’re a smart spender, but have a nice wedding. This place needs something to make people happy. Now go, before you infect me with whatever marriage bomb is going off in your squadrant.”
Midoriya nodded with a grateful smile. “Thank you so much, Sarge.” He bowed at the waist, before heading out. He was grateful to have someone like Aizawa who was so understanding and caring (despite what he believed himself).
Midoriya hastily made his way to the barracks, a smile on his face as he walked. He noticed new recruits marching on, making him remember when he had first enlisted. The buzz cut and short hair with skinny arms that couldn’t even carry a rifle for longer than what was necessary. He was glad he spent the past three years since entering the army being smart and training hard. Now all the work he put in, all the effort and experience will benefit you as well.
Midoriya walked into the barracks with a pep in his step.
“Izuku!” He turned to look at Iida. “What did Aizawa say?” he asked.
He smiled and nodded with a smile. “Consider me gone, Tenya. This Friday, I’ll be out and hopefully engaged.”
“You actually going to ask her to marry you?” Bakugou asked with a raised eyebrow and a disbelieving look on his face.
Midoriya chuckled as he threw open his arms as he headed over to his bed and area. “Well, of course. I want to give her the best a man can do and the only way I can do that is if I ask her to marry me. Hoping to get married by the end of next week. Never know when I’ll see her again with the way the war is going.” He reminded the blond man.
Kaminari sighed as he got his hat out of his trunk at the foot of his bed. “Thinner ration books, blacked out windows, airraids every other day. I thought it was finally settling down before all this happened.” He stated with a hopeful look on him.
Midoriya understood the feeling, but there wasn’t time to think about it. He opened his mouth to say something.
“I’m not surprised at all, if I were honest.” Todoroki pointed out with a shrug. “They’ve been going steady for a while now. It makes sense.”
Midoriya pointed to Todoroki. “Thank you, Shoto.” He stated with a smile. “Now lets stop talking about my doll and I, and get to training.”
“Deflector.” Bakugou tsked making some others chuckle.
“That was so groovy!” You giggled as you sat on against the hood of the car, the both of you out in a clearing just outside of town as the sun began to set. You looked to your right at Midoriya, a wide smile on his own face. “Why have you never taken me before?”
He chuckled and nodded his head. “It’s a little army soldier secret, doll. We don’t need you telling your boss about it.” He reminded you. You gave him a pointed look. He raised his hand in defense as he chuckled. “Just a precaution, doll. It isn’t aimed at you.”
“Well it sure sounds like it.” You told him. You looked out at the setting sun, smiling at the plains before you. It was times like this where you could forget, for just a second, that war was not happening and that you were going to be just fine. “Is the view not just wonderful, Izuku?”
“Yah… she sure is…” You paused as you turned to look at the soldier next to you, his eyes were down on you, not looking anywhere near the sunset. You felt heat bloom to your face as you looked away from him. “Doll…” He started, glancing to his right for a moment before looking back at you. “I know we haven’t been going on long but, well… I sure don’t think I have any regrets with what I want to say.”
You tilted your head confused as he pushed off the front of the car and moved to stand in front of you. “Izuku? What d-do-” You couldn’t even finish your words as you looked down at him, speechless. He was down on one knee in front of you.
“Y/N, I know you deserve more than me.” He started, his eyes only ever being focused on you. “You deserve a good life, with a man that can afford to give you the big house and picket fence that you dream of. A man from a good and stable family that has more to his name than what he’s made of it.”
“Oh Izuku.” You started with a frown on your face, shaking your head. “You know I don’t need that.”
“But you sure deserve it. Doll, I- I don’t know what tomorrow might bring. I might leave off to war tomorrow and never see you again but, if there is one thing this soldier does know is that…” He took your hands in his large ones, encasing them in his loving and soft embrace. “I love you, doll. I love you so much and you’ve made me the happiest version of myself that I’ve ever been. So if it would please you,” He took out from his pocket a delicate golden ring, one just for you. Not too fancy but one that made your heart melt anyways. “Lets get married. I promise you doll, I’ll do everything in my life to protect you. I’ll protect you, and respect you and work twice as hard to get you what you want and I-”
“Oh shut up, Izuku!” You pulled on his shirt and leaned down into a kiss.
His eyes widened but easily held onto you, kissing you back. “D-does that mean-”
“Yes!”
“Yes?”
“YES!” You cheered as you flung yourself into his arms making the poor man fall back into the long grass with a laugh.
The both of you laughed with tears in your eyes, nothing but each other and the world a distant memory.

Lost Time (Part One)
Midoriya Izuku x Reader
AN: wanted to make a small fic inspired by a dream i had a some time ago that i can't get off my mind
It had been three years since Midoriya Izuku passed, and since then you had never dared step foot inside that house. Things would change however when you receive a certain request from the boys mother asking you to house-sit while she was in the hospital. You couldn't refuse her.
warnings: angst, noquirkau, ghosts, slight yandere in a later part, implied suicide, bullying mention, definitely ooc but idc, also not proof read but idc
You got out of your car, taking in the fresh air and the view of cloudy Fall. The orange and brown colors ordain the yard of the house you're staring at as you feel an emotional sensation twirl in your stomach. It's been some time since you've been here, given the last time you were inside that home your childhood friend was still alive. He was more than a friend to you, but you always found it easier to describe him as a your friend as opposed to a 'highschool sweetheart' given the short time you two held with each other.
You continuously stare at the house, knowing full well you'll have to go in soon. You came back to the area recently to help Inko, Izuku's mom, with housesitting while she was away sick, she was recently hospitalized and so she needed someone to housesit in the meantime. You two bonded well after his death, finding solace in being with someone who also carried that unforgettable burden on the heart.
You sighed before going to the back of your car to open the trunk revealing a black luggage case that had all your clothes and belongings in it. You were supposedly staying for a few days until Inko recovered enough to be released so you packed enough clothes to last you for about 3 days. You grabbed your luggage out the trunk and closed the trunk before bringing it to the front of the door.
According to Inko she mentioned that she would be leaving a key behind one of the potted plants, which enough quick searching you find it soon enough. Taking the key you unlock the door and open it. As you step inside you take in the familiar but now distant view of the house, you can't tell if it's the grief or the nostalgia that's making the house look less vibrant and joyful it used to be. The pang you feel in your gut as you stand at the doorway is one you were half-heartedly expecting, but were hoping to avoid. You look at the walls and notice the lack of pictures there used to be when you were younger as you recall a conversation she had with you where she mentioned her therapist recommended she make photo albums instead to help handle the grief better.
You close the door and stand there for a moment, you recall bittersweet memories of Izuku and you when you were kids.
(
Izuku and you sat in front of the TV playing games, a bit too close for Inko's taste but she let you both just enjoy the day. Your mom dropped you off since she had other things to tend to that day, and found it better to let you play with your friend than to hand you off to some random babysitter.
You were playing some kind of racer game, the name that's been lost to you, and you two were taking turns to play it together since Izuku only had one controller. You both were aiming to get first place since the spot had eluded the both of you so far, yet the closest you both seemed to get to was second place.
Izuku sputtered out some noises, once again landing in second place, "The game has to be cheating! This isn't fair...!" he said with a flair of frustration. You reached over to grab the controller, and he reluctantly handed it to you with a pout, as he wanted to go again. You noticed this and a grand idea had popped into your mind.
"Why don't we share? I take this side of the controller and you take the other." You proposed the idea, figuring that maybe if you two put your best skills together in the game that you both can get first. Izuku face changed as he began to think about the offer, before turning to a smile.
"Okay, I'll take the left side of the controller and you get the right, does that sound good?" He offered, as you nodded with a smile. You moved in close to sit right next to Izuku, you both flush next to each other. He froze for a moment, surprised by the contact, but regained himself and you both split the controller. It was awkward handling the controller but you both got used to it. Next thing you know...
"We did it!!!" You cheered, both your faces brimming with elation. Izuku hugged you in joy and you hugged him back. Your face felt warm and you were happy.
You were happy.
)
Tears welled at your eyes as you breathe in the painful nostalgia, you know you should be happy about the time you two got to spend together but another part laments what could have been. Where would you be now if two different strands of fate melded into each other? Would you be happier? Or would you still be as miserable as you feel now?
Your internal ruminations are halted by your stomach growling, realizing that you didn't eat when you left this morning for the four hour drive here. You recalled Inko told you she had some leftovers and other food in the fridge you could help yourself to. You wipe your eyes of the small beads that collected in the corners of your eyes. You recall where the kitchen was and leave your luggage by the front door since you want to eat before you unpack.
She offered to pay for your stay, but you declined since you figured it had been some time since you left this place for schooling. After Izuku's passing, you wrote this entire city off in act of resentment. The only good thing around here is your family and Inko, who you cherish like family. To you, she is the kindest woman you have ever known, and the least deserving of what had happened. She felt bad about you staying since she knew how you felt about everything surrounding his death. You two had met up occasionally for lunch in that time following, you even jokingly refer to her as your second mom since she practically co-raised you when you were young.
Entering the kitchen, you hit the lights in the kitchen, deciding the grey ambience from outside was too much for your worn heart to handle. Warm lights grace you and your mood immediately eases, funny how light can alter your mood so much. You beeline for the fridge, beginning to feel the crushing hunger on you. You grab the first thing of left overs that catches your eye and place it on the counter. Before you go to close the fridge door you feel a strong cold sensation in front of you that sends shivers down your back. You blink for a moment before writing the cold off as coming from the fridge.
You close the fridge and go to nuke the leftovers in the microwave, feeling the sudden exhaustion of the long drive. Realizing you hadn't even taken your coat off, you do so quickly and toss it on one of the vacant chairs in the kitchen. You rub your face and stretch to try and put a little bit more energy into yourself, finding no success in the matter. You yawn as you go back to stare at your food rotating in the microwave, feeling the slowness of time.
Suddenly the sounds of a soft guitar fill the room, as your phone begins ringing. You pull your phone out of your pocket and instantly recognize the caller ID, you waste no time picking up. Setting the phone to speaker phone and placing it on the counter, you answer.
"Hey, Mom Two!" you respond in a cheerful tone.
"Hello, (Y/N)." she responds in a happy but groggy fashion, reminding you again that she's in the hospital.
"How's everything going on with you at the hospital? Nothing too bad I hope."
"Oh I'll be fine I'm sure, the doctor's just want to run a few tests and make sure I'm well and rested up."
You smile as the microwave goes off, you ignore it in favor of the conversation.
"That's good at least, last thing we need you rushing out of the hospital and breaking a hip!" You joke as she laughs in return.
"Hey, I'm that old! You never know, once I'm all healed up I might be more spry than you!" She joked in return as you chuckled. "Did you make it to the house?" She asked, as you feel your smile begin to drop.
"Oh yeah, just got here in fact. I haven't unpacked yet though. How long do you think you'll be in the hospital anyways." You respond in a false cheery tone, hoping to change the conversation. This doesn't go completely unnoticed by Inko.
"Doctor's estimated in three days, hopefully I'll get discharged in two." There's a short silence before Inko follows up with a question. "How's the house? I know it's been a while since you've been inside so I want to make sure you're fine." She said with a slight concern for you in her voice. You wanted to run from the conversation, you weren't ready to talk about this yet.
"Oh it's fine. Actually Inko, I just heated some food up and I'm really tired and I also have to unpack, so how about I call you later tonight or tomorrow?" You quickly try to dodge the conversation, this also doesn't go unnoticed by Inko.
"Alright... but if you have any issues call me, okay? And if you need to leave I completely understand, just let me know okay?"
"Yes Inko, I'll call you later." You hang up the phone, and swallow your emotions. You'll have to apologize to her later, but talking about it will just bring out a lot that you're not ready for.
You grab your leftovers and take them with you to the couch. You're sure you'd be scolded for this but you need to sit down and relax, in front of you sits the living room TV and a coffee table littered with miscellaneous trinkets. You reach for the remote to turn the TV on to fill the silence in the room with something other than your thoughts.
You flip over to some random trashy reality TV, you didn't care what it was, as long as it drowned your thoughts in a lake of silence. You shove a mouthful of food into you as you barely focus on the uninspired drivel displayed in front of you. You take delight in the food, you'll definitely have to send your regards to Inko when she comes back. She was always a good cook, although you'd never say it, you sometimes felt she was an even better cook then your mother.
(
"Ms. Midoriya, what foods does Izuku like?" You asked, looking up at Inko.
"Why do you ask?" Inko asked, a glimmer of curiosity shining in her eyes. You shuffle awkwardly, thinking of a way to explain away your intentions. You and Izuku had just started middle school, and you don't want to lie to her about your intentions, but you're not sure if it's your place you talk about it.
"Just curious is all." You lied, feeling light guilt burden itself on your shoulders. You wanted her to know, but you didn't know if it was appropriate to tell her. You merely swallow your feelings on the matter.
Inko looks at you for a moment, taking notice of your awkward demeanor and the way you're having difficulty looking at her.
"Izuku really likes Katsudon." She responded with a comforting smile, you felt relieved she wasn't going to grill you for more details. You didn't know if it was okay to tell her kids at school were bullying Izuku and destroying his lunches. You felt bad for him, and you wanted to help him by making him lunches, that way he could still eat. He'd never ask for help, he was always worried about burdening others with his problems.
"How do you make katsudon? Can you teach me?" Determined to help Izuku any way you could, you decided this could be the best method without making him feel like he's a burden on you. Inko nodded. and that day you learn how to cook Izuku's favorite food.
)
You quickly scarf the food down as your stomach reminds you why you're eating in the first place, and once you finish you lazily place the leftovers on the coffee table before you. You try to focus your attention to the TV, trying to ignore the fact of your situation and that you still need to unpack, but you fail miserably. All you could think about was when you two were younger and the innocent bliss that came with it.
Your eyes began to tear up.
You felt a strong pit in your throat, rife with emotion. You couldn't hold it in anymore. You choked out a small sob as you covered your face with your hands, breaking down from the grief. You felt the swirling emotions of anger, a sense of loss, loneliness, and most importantly; sadness.
It wasn't fair! Izuku was the kindest boy you ever knew, so why him? Why was he the punching bag for all the other kids? No reasonable conclusion could come to your mind other than all the other kids were awful, reminding you of the vitriol you felt when he died. You remember screaming in anger, threatening to beat up the other kids, you cursed them; hoping one day they'll be forced to feel the grief they made you endure. One thought popped out the most, the one that hurt and broke you the most;
Why weren't you enough to convince him to stay?
You let out a loud sob as you curl inwards to the couch, wishing you were being comforted. For the past three years you've been forced to face that gnawing emptiness as you try to deny it's existence in you, some days you find peace with it; and then there are days like today. You cried into the couch cushions for some time trying to find some comforting solution to your suffering; only leaving you with cuts on your fingers tugging at empty fishing lines from a lake of grief.
Soon enough you felt yourself grow tired from all the weeping, calming down as you lay on the couch. You felt another cold sensation hit you, and you cuddle further into a couch, too heartbroken to fetch a blanket. You close your eyes, and feel the overwhelming exhaustion hit you again. You can wait on unpacking your luggage, you wanted- no, needed rest. This can all wait for tonight, as you just want your brain to be silent for a moment.
Thus in that moment, you felt yourself drift off into a sleep, unaware of the other presence lurking in the house.

there will come a soldier, who carries a mighty sword,he will tear your city down (Katsuki Bakugou)
Righteousness,Strength,Violence. Katsuki has it all. it may seem as if the only thing he feels is anger, and he thinks the same, but after a while even an idiot would notice that he feels passion for many different things, love (for heroism) included. he made his own rules and will follow them until his death, no matter who doesn’t like it, however, that’s his biggest weakness, since the only rule is to fight. he sometimes feels tired of fighting, and will only wish for a break, which some do not give him, but he needs it. he deserves it.
There will come a poet whose weapon is his word,he will slay you with his tongue (Izuku Midoriya)
Loneliness,Strength,Joy. Izuku is powerful, but he struggles to believe that. he thinks he isn’t enough, although he is. he does heroism in hopes they help and give faith to others;because he, himself, ran out of it, and yet he powers through, giving his heart out to the world and hoping it’d survive and make it through. he manages to convince himself that pain is art, so he could atleast have something to create. he is tired of having no solid ground to stand on, that’s why he wishes for it, he yearns for it, but one day he shall get it.
There will come a ruler whose brow is laid in thorn, smeared with oil like David’s boy (Shoto Todoroki)
Duty,Strength,Resignation. Shoto was told to do things, and he did them. the world was something put in his hands and that he must deal with, so he did. he has a rigid back and steady hands, either metaphorical or physically, he does not know. is this nature or nurture? he also does not know. he’s tired of this, Shoto dreams of feeling alive, not that he isn’t, but sometimes he finds it hard to believe that there is a heart between his ribs.

Well... aren't you a pretty doll?
Army soldier Midoriya Izuku x Secretary Reader
Tumblr media
Context: You accidentally spill your soda on a man and he's smitten right away.
Note: Just a fluffy meet-cute. Set in the 1950s.
[PART 2]
“Well you know what they say, Midoriya, you can’t drop your eggs and cry about it too.” Iida commented as the group of men sat down in the diner. It was late in the evenings when the group of them had decided to sit down and share a meal before going back to their own barracks.
Bakugou shook his head with a tsk. “Yoshida had no right to tell me to do all those drills when I wasn’t even the one talkin’.” He stated with a clear dislike for their leading Colonel. He scowled as he sipped on his cola. “Next time I see the fucker, I’ll knock him right in the jaw.”
“Well I seriously doubt that, Kacchan.” Midoriya stated with a laugh as he leaned back in his seat. He had his jacket off, allowing him to lean back freely in the cushioned boof chair. He couldn’t deny that he enjoyed being off the clock, having time out with his friends made life all the more marrier.
Kirishima chuckled. “Not with the way Colonel was staring him down, he aint.” The large man motioned to the blond making him roll his eyes.
Midoriya shook his head as he stood up out of the boof. “Heading to the john, I’ll be right-”
Suddenly he was knocked right in the chest making him take a step back and grabbing whoever it was who fell into his arms. A glass of cola toppled on the tray and landed right on his shirt, trickling down his front. “Oh dear me! I’m so sorry, sir.” A hurried voice came out of the woman who stood in his arms. She shook her head furiously. “I tripped over someone’s foot and-”
Suddenly the most beautiful eyes were staring up at him. Your eyes. Midoriya paused as he looked down at you, his eyes wide at the sight of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. You were dressed in a pretty little pencil skirt and a button down short shirt. You looked so put together and pristine and it honestly almost made the man blush.
He stared down at you with wide stricken green eyes, the most beautiful you had ever seen in your life. His hair was slicked back and combed to perfection, typical of army regulation and he wore long pants and a button down as well. You could tell he was a soldier as were most men in the diner here in this army town.
“My, my, my…” His voice let out in disbelief as he stared down at you. “Aren’t you a pretty little doll?” He said more to himself than to you, his eyes looking over your form as you stood still against him.
You perked up at the compliment, feeling your face burn. You took a step back away from him. “I’m so sorry.” You bowed at the waist to him. “I hope you can forgive me.”
Midoriya smiled. “There’s no harm done. A little wet but my pride wasn’t bruised.” He assured you. “What’s a pretty little thing like you doing in a place like this?” He asked you referencing to the diner.
You looked down with a blush letting out a soft laugh. “Well, sir I work here.”
“In the diner?” He asked shocked. He looked over your outfit once more, noticing your pretty heels. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a formal waitress.”
You laughed at the mistake. “No, I work in town. I’m a secretary. I am here with my friends.” You told him, motioning to a group of women nearby at a boof who were spying on you but quickly looked away at the sight of Midoriya’s eyes on them.
He scoffed before turning to look down at you. “You’re a secretary?”
You nodded your head dutifully, a customary bow of the head showing that you were trained well in your job especially when it came to interacting with army men. You tilted your head. “Why do you ask? Is it so surprising?  You wanted me to be something else?”
“Well no. On the contrary, I think a smart woman like yourself that can handle a job is stronger than you lead on.” His words surprised you, making your eyebrows raise. Of course you would likely never get a job like any of the men could but you were glad with what you had. He smiled down at you. “It’s an honour to make your acquaintance, ma’am.” He bowed at the waist. “I am Corporal Midoriya Izuku.” He introduced himself.
Your eyes widened at the ranking. You looked at him rather impressed before chuckling. “Well Corporal, thank you for your understanding. If there is any way I could repay you…”
Midoriya straightened up, putting his hands in his pockets. “How about you allow me to take you out dancing?” He asked with an eased smile. “On Friday. Me and the guys are heading to the pub.”
You glanced at his group of friends who all were quietly watching the exchange as well. You chuckled and turned around, “How could I say no to that?” You asked rhetorically as you took your semi-empty cup back to your table.
“Wait. What’s your name, doll?” He asked
You turned back to look at him and he was sure you had captured his heart right then and there. With your body perfectly highlighted by your uniform and your eyes locked on him, he could have drowned in your eyes. “L/N Y/N.” You revealed to him.
“Well I’ll see you on Friday, Miss L/N.” He nodded his head to you. You nodded your head with a barely contained smile as you scurried away from him.
He watched you for a moment, wondering why he had never seen you at headquarters before and which lucky man had you working for him. He of course, was not yet paid enough to know everything about everyone, but he made sure that he did. If he wanted to rise up the ranks he had to impress people, but he had never been so spun before.
He turned to look at the guys with a surprised look.
Sato let out a laugh as he leaned back, a toothpick in his mouth. “Look at you, Casanova.” He motioned to Izuku. “You got yourself a little miss.”
He shook his head with a chuckle. “Oh no… not yet.”

#MHA421 Hori has the chance to do the funniest thing ever.
All that’s left to do is AFO revealing to Izuku and all the characters (UA highschool and all the Pro heroes gathered) that he’s his father. “Btw I’m your father Midoriya Izuku. I fucked your mom and bailed out on the child support.”
And the second they all call him a bad father he be like “Bitch I dare you. At least I didn’t abuse or hurt my child.” A dig at Aoyama’s parents, Endeavor and the entire flawed hero system that uses children like soldiers.
“You claim righteousness and forge your own children into weapons, yet deem me the villain? While I’ve let Izuku choose his own fate, you have confined yours to your rigid ideals.”
Idk sounds right to me 🙂
