Amor Vincit Omnia by Twin_Flame_Blues - E, 32 chapters, Words: 288,120 - After three years of dating, Ron admits he cheated on Hermione for two of those years with Daphne Greengrass--and Harry knew all about it. Reeling from the betrayal by her friends and family, Hermione must rebuild her life and discover new bonds with an unlikely group including Theo Nott, Blaise Zabini, and Pansy Parkinson. What happens when Draco Malfoy, her first and deepest love, suddenly reappears in Hermione's life and she finds that her feelings have only grown deeper with time? OR: Hermione and Draco secretly dated at Hogwarts, he left after his trial, and now he's returned to win her back.
Paris by Twin_Flame_Blues - E, one-shot -  This one-shot takes place in the AVO universe, about 7 years after the end of the main (pre-epilogue) story from AVO.
Amor Vincit Omnia - The Beginning by Twin_Flame_Blues - M, 7 chapters - All of the flashbacks (plus a few new ones!) from the original AVO, organized in chronological order. This is essentially the prequel fic to AVO, telling the story of how Draco and Hermione got together at Hogwarts, how they kept their relationship a secret, and what they went through in the lead up to, during, and immediately after the war. I really wanted to compile all of the flashbacks from AVO into their own story so you could read it all the way through in order for a different experience than you get in AVO. The story begins during 4th year and continues through the end of Draco's trial after the war. You can read this either if you have or have not read the original AVO, it will make sense either way, and the backstory built in this fic will remain consistent for all other works in the AVO universe, including alternate timeline fics that will pick up where this story ends. Enjoy these two idiots falling in love!

The day came for you to say goodbye to Harry. It was also the day Molly and Arthur would pick you so you could move into their house during the school year since the older children had moved out and they could use an extra pair of hands around the house.
Before the train left, you, Harry, and his parents met up with Hermione and the Weasleys. You thought of how glad you were to see them again as you gave each one of them a hug. Ginny had grown taller, Ron had grown stronger, Hermione was still smart as ever, and the twins were still the same goofballs you had graduated with.
You thought it was unusual that Harry gave you an even bigger hug than he did to his parents.
“You alright there?” You asked him.
“I’ll miss you, you know.” He said. “It’ll be my first year without you.”
“Hey, what about us?!” Fred and George’s voices came from behind you, making you jump.
“He’ll get over it.” You turned to them and waved your hand in front of you. “And he was talking to me.” You rolled your eyes playfully.
“Sure he was.” You could practically hear the smirk in Fred’s voice.
“Who wouldn’t miss their big sister?” Same with George’s.
“Don’t you guys know you’re embarrassing him?” Hermione joined in on the conversation.
She was right. You looked in Harry’s direction, where you were greeted by his blushing face.
Why did it seem like they all knew something about Harry that you didn’t?
“Everything will be alright, Harry. We’ll write to each other.” You gave him a reassuring smile and rubbed his back in an attempt to soothe the redness in his cheeks, but that apparently only made it worse.
“I’m sure he’ll be writing to her more than to his parents.” You heard one of the twins whisper to the other one.
You had an easy time distracting yourself from the grief of your parent’s deaths and your forbidden attraction towards James. There was never a boring day in the Burrow. You were always doing something with Molly and Arthur whether it was training, helping out in the garden, cleaning and cooking, or helping the both of them host Order meetings in their house. Other times, you were writing back and forth to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. In his latest letter, Harry had written that he had become the captain of the Quidditch team, and Ron became the Keeper, both of whom you congratulated in your subsequent letters.
The Order meetings were something you dreaded as much as you looked forward to because it was when you’d be forced to be in the same room as James and Lily, whom you hoped wouldn’t suspect you of having a crush on her husband.
You weren’t expecting to embarrass yourself when you came downstairs wearing Percy’s old sleepwear. In the living room was every adult member of the Order you’ve met so far. Not every member showed up to every meeting, so this was a surprise for you.
You saw Remus and Tonks sharing a seat on an oversized armchair big enough to fit both of them while her parents were standing nearby, talking to them. The younger Tonks was the first person to see you as she gave you a goofy grin and waved at you. Next to the pair, the twins were standing next to each other in their own side conversation. Sirius, James, and Lily were at the dining table. Across the room, there was Mundungus Fletcher looking at a shelf of magical artifacts as if they were the most interesting things in the world, and Alastor Moody stood next to him, as if he were making sure he didn’t steal anything. You thought you saw Molly throw a disgusted look towards Fleur Delacour who was talking to Bill and Charlie.
“What’re you all doing here?” You asked groggily.
“Time for you to go back to bed, young lady.” You heard Sirius say.
“What’s going on?” You ignored him.
You then noticed everyone looking at each other back and forth, making you feel awkward.
“Make sure she doesn’t find out.” Tonks was whispering and you saw Remus and Sirius roll their eyes at her inability to keep her mouth shut.
“Find out about what?” You looked at Tonks straight in the eyes.
“Nice one, Tonks. Now she’s going to find out.” Fred elbowed her.
“At least it’s not us getting in trouble this time.” George whispered to his brother.
“Will someone tell me what’s happening?” You demanded the now silent crowd.
“It’s about Dumbledore.” Alastor Moody was the one to get straight to the point.
“We think there’s a plot to assassinate him.” Remus said reluctantly.
“You think?” You raised your eyebrows at him. “What evidence is there? Who brought this up?”
“We got a letter from one of the students.” Sirius said, looking towards his two companions at the table. “It was discovered that Draco Malfoy had been the one planning it. Voldemort had tasked him over the summer. There were other unsuccessful attempts-”
“What student?” You interrupted him.
“That’s not important.” James said.
“Harry followed Malfoy into the bathroom and interrogated him after he overheard Snape scolding him about how he was supposed to poison Dumbledore, not Ron.” As fast as Tonks had blurred out the story, everyone else glared at her.
“Oops.” She whispered meekly.
“You’re going to save Dumbledore right?” You asked everyone, making sure to look them all in the eye. They all gave each other that look that implied they were planning something that excluded you.
“We can’t let you come with us.” Arthur said.
“Why not?” You asked him.
He didn’t let any emotion show on his face.
“There will be Death Eaters trying to get into the school. If they see you, you’ll be in even more danger. They’re already looking for you.” With a deep breath he added, “Especially because they failed to find you and kill you after they did to your parents. Or worse… Make you join them. I’m so sorry.”
“You mean all this time they were looking for me?” You were shocked at Arthur’s revelation. “That’s why you kept shuffling me around different homes this past year. Because you were hiding me without me knowing.” It was all starting to make sense.
“Arthur, that’s enough you’ve upset her.” You must’ve looked like you were about to vomit because Molly came over to you and put an arm around your shoulder.
“Come on, Dear. Let’s get you upstairs. I’ll make you a cup of tea.” She said to you.
“I’m going.” You said boldly.
“No you are not.” James slammed his hand on the table as he stood up.
“If they’re looking for me, let them find me. I don’t want to hide. I want to be a part of something that makes a difference. Isn’t that what it means to be a member of the Order of the Phoenix?” You shrugged off Molly’s hand from your shoulder.
“Hogwarts Express leaves in two hours.” Moody said.
“Alastor! No!” Molly yelled in a threatening tone like she was dealing with the twins.
“She has a point. If she wants to prove she’s capable of handling herself, let her. I trust her.” You were thankful at least someone knew the right way to treat you like an adult.
You could tell no one in the room was happy with what Moody had to say even if he did have a point.
James couldn’t stop bouncing his leg against his seat. The countless possible outcomes of what could happen to you ran through his mind faster than the train was running. He felt Lily’s hand patting his thigh, as if trying to soothe him.
“I remember my first time riding this train.” She smiled, looking out at the mountains.
James scoffed. “So do I. That’s when I first met you. And Snivellus. You know we’ll see him right? He works there.”
“Come on, James. He’s changed just as much as you did.”
“From what Harry’s told us about him, I know he’s changed from a bitter teenage boy to a bitter teacher.”
“It’ll be alright, you don’t have to be overly friendly with him if you do see him.” James felt comforted as she put her hand on his.
The scenery zooming past the window did nothing to soothe the nauseous feeling inside your stomach that had been there since the morning. One thing you were grateful for was that you were alone in the compartment. You didn’t want anyone else to see you like this, all huddled up with your knees to your chest, looking like a nervous wreck. You didn’t want the others to regret their decision to bring you along. You were starting to second guess yourself. Maybe you should’ve listened to James and Arthur by staying at the Burrow.
You tapped your finger against the handle of your wand that was tucked into your boot. You then moved onto fiddling with the laces of your dress, (the one that Sirius dug out from his mother’s closet.) You had to busy yourself with anything to get your mind off your anxiety.
You were a Gryffindor. It was your job to be brave, you reminded yourself as you let yourself doze off.
You awoke to a knock on the window of your compartment door. You sat up and rubbed your eyes as the faces of Moody and Tonks came into focus.
You opened the door to let them in.
“Good evening, Sleepyhead.” Tonks greeted you, alerting you that it was in fact evening already and that you’d be arriving in Hogsmeade soon.
“Now, you listen to me.” Moody said, as he let his staff bang on the floor in front of him before he and Tonks took a seat in front of you. “I trust you enough to come with us. Tonks and I both think you’re ready.”
You looked at Tonks, who gave you one of her goofy smiles and a thumbs up.
“The problem is,” Moody continued with a frown. “The others underestimate you. They can’t keep coddling you.”
“Don’t worry.” Tonks gave you a reassuring smile. “I remember my first mission with the Order. I was just as nervous as you are.”
“Don’t, under any circumstances, separate from anyone in the group.” Moody said to you gruffly. “Are we clear? You can’t be seen alone by a Death Eater.”
“Yes sir.” You said.
As soon as all of you got off the train, you looked at each other, sensing a more sinister presence across the Black Lake looming over the school.
“They're here already.” Sirius said grimly.
“How? We know the teachers put up protection charms around the school to keep out the Death Eaters.” James said.
“I don’t know, James.” Sirius shrugged. “But we need to get there quickly.”
All of you then rushed to where the carriages were. You looked on sadly as you saw James sitting next to Lily with Remus and Sirius across from them.
You shivered in your dress as you got onto the carriage with Tonks and Moody.
“I know what you’re thinking…” Tonks caught you off guard when she winked at you.
“Excuse me?” You looked to Moody for clarification, but it seemed he was just as confused as you were.
“Don’t pretend like I don’t know what you’re thinking. I went through the same thing with Remus.”
Your eyes widened and you blushed as it then clicked in your brain what she meant. Moody looked on to the side of the carriage, completely ignoring you two.
“There’s no need to feel bad even though he’s married.”
“What?!” You loudly whispered as you covered your mouth. You looked at your two companions feeling embarrassed.
“Moody’s been around too long to not know how to keep secrets and ignore them.” Tonks said nonchalantly.
You felt disturbed that she was able to read you so openly. If she was able to do it, you’d hate to imagine what the others might pick up on from you.
“I know you.” Tonks went on. You wanted to tell her to shut up as much as you wanted her to keep talking. “You’re too innocent to want to hurt Lily. That’s why you’ve never said anything. Don’t be scared of your feelings as long as you don’t act on them.”
“Yeah, I won’t.” You scoffed, more to yourself.
“Then you haven’t got anything to worry about.” She said a little too cheerfully.
“Oh… thanks?” You didn’t know what else to say about her awkward, but well-intentioned attempt at giving you advice.
As you got to the school, your nerves didn’t calm down one bit. In fact, they seemed to multiply. Heeding Moody’s advice, you tried to stay as close to everyone, but you somehow found yourself alone in the familiar dark corridors. You lost track of time, trying your best to hide from any Death Eaters roaming the castle along with the screaming students running for their lives.
You thought you had lost everyone when you heard a voice softly call out your name.
You turned around to the sight of Harry running towards you. He was wearing jeans and a hoodie. You felt tears threaten to escape you. You were so glad you found someone you were familiar with amongst all this chaos.
“Harry, what is it?” You asked frantically.
“It’s Voldemort! He and the Death Eaters got into the castle and now they're battling with the Order in the Astronomy Tower!” He answered you just as frantically. He was also out of breath. “Dumbledore told me to run. And then, my parents told me to go and find you.”
“I’m so happy you’re alright.” You hugged Harry just as tightly as he hugged you. “Where are the other students?”
“Fred and George are helping the Prefects make sure everyone else gets to their common rooms.” He said.
“I have to go help your parents and the others!” You suddenly let go of him.
“Dad told me to get you to the Gryffindor common room where he thinks you’ll be safe.” Harry contradicted.
“I told your dad and the rest of the Order that I’m not hiding.” You contradicted him back. “I’m going to help. Are you coming with me?” You took out your wand from inside your boot.
Harry sighed. “Alright, then.”
Seeing as how Harry was almost as short as you, you had no trouble keeping up with each other’s footsteps as you ran through the castle and up the stairs to the Astronomy Tower. The first person whose eyes you caught were James’. He was in a duel with Professor Snape, who if you looked closely, was deflecting James’ attacks at the Death Eaters next to him. You knew Snape was a powerful wizard, so there was no way he’d do this unintentionally. It was strange to you, but you didn’t question it out loud.
“Kids! Get out of here!” James yelled at you and Harry, which made Snape turn his eyes towards you.
“I’m not leaving without a fight!” You yelled back through the sounds of other screaming wizards around you.
“Stop it! This isn’t the time to try to act like a brave little Gryffindor! You’ll only get hurt! Harry, I told you to make sure she gets to the common room with the other students!” James was out of breath as much as Snape was. You were just as thankful as you were confused as to why Snape didn’t try to attack you and Harry.
“No, Dad. She didn’t want to go. And I’m with her!” Harry exclaimed cofindently. “I’m not leaving without a fight either.” You both gave each other a nod.
For the first time since entering the tower, you took a full glance at your surroundings.
Tonks and her parents were fighting against two witches you recognized as Bellatrix Lestrange and her younger sister Narcissa Malfoy, who looked like she didn’t want to be there, with the eldest of the three sisters repeatedly throwing insults at the middle one, along the lines of “blood-traitor” or “mud-blood lover.” If it weren’t for the wands, it would’ve looked like a typical family argument.
You then saw Fleur, Bill, and Charlie try with their combined strengths to fend off the wolfish attacks of Fenrir Greyback, whom you knew as the one responsible for turning Remus into what he had become. If he was no weaker than three grown wizards combined, you’d hate to see what he’d be capable of in his full wolf form.
The two most powerful wizards in the room however, were Dumbledore and Voldemort, who instead of exchanging words and attacks, put all their energy into a clash of light, daring each other to let go and give into the exhaustion.
It was Dumbledore who gave in, as Voldemort’s blast hit him and sent him to the ground. Dumbledore may have been old, but his speed at getting up was rivaled to that of someone your age.
You saw Voldemort whip his head around to find a new target, you and Harry. He shot a non-verbal attack at you, and with you and Harry’s combined strengths, were able to block it.
You saw James let go of his mission of attacking Snape as he turned to the three of you, and before Voldemort could get a look at him, he pushed him to the ground.
“I told you two to get out!” James yelled angrily.
Using the strength of both hands, Voldemort grabbed James by the collar of his shirt, and tugged him off before pulled him up to eye-level.
“James Potter…” He sneered, as James clenched his teeth, keeping eye contact with him. “Just as weak as the day I tried to kill you all those years ago.”
James grabbed his wrist and pried them off of him, but not before spitting in his face.
“You are not scaring me!” He yelled over the sound of Voldemort’s cackling.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Snape standing all alone, everyone else too distracted by fighting each other to notice him, but not you and Harry.
Snape aimed his wand at Dumbledore, and you heard the spell being used for the first time.
“Avada Kedavra.” He didn’t sound angry, just sad, like he knew he had to do this and was dreading it. You guessed that with all of Malfoy’s failed assassination attempts, Snape decided to take matters into his own hands.
Except it didn’t hit Dumbledore because Lily pushed him back to the ground, making the blast hit her instead.
The entire battle stopped, and everyone put down their wands.
“Lily! No!” James turned his attention to Lily from Voldemort, who looked like a child watching fireworks on New Year’s.
Harry was being held back by Remus from attempting to lung out at Snape and get himself hurt, you assumed. The only things that came out of Harry were tears and a scream, no words.
You heard Bellatrix’s cackle as she was the first Death Eater to fly away from the observation deck, not without a goodbye.
“Until next time, little sister!” Her maniacal laughter faded along with her. Narcissa pushed past her niece as she wordlessly sprinted down the stairs, probably to go find Draco.
After the other Death Eaters flew away, Voldemort disapparated along with his maniacal laughter that was deeper than Bellatrix’s. Snape was the only Death Eater who remained.
It was James who threw a punch at Snape, but all he did was stand there without a word, letting James use him as a punching bag a couple more times.
“I was right about you! You are still the same terrible person I went to school with! Lily tried convincing me you’ve changed! She was your friend! I can’t believe she ever chose to be your friend! You never deserved her in your life! You will never be worthy enough to have someone like her in your life!” With each sentence that ripped out of him, James’ punches towards Snape became more potent until there was a faint line of blood coming out of his mouth.
“Fight back, you coward!” Was the last thing James yelled before letting his fist drop to look at the forming bruises on his knuckles.
Dumbledore was silent as he came over to James, and put an arm around the crying man’s shoulders.
He gently pulled him away, and whispered, “I’ll apparate her body back to Godric’s Hollow. Make sure you and the others regroup at your home. I’ll meet you there.”
James held his head up, revealing his tears to everyone. He nodded at Dumbledore’s order.
There were bouquets of Lilies everywhere in James’ living room. The number of flowers had greatly outnumbered the people. He couldn’t have known that during the moment Lily was talking about her first train ride to Hogwarts, it would also be her last train ride to Hogwarts. It was like a twisted circle of life, is how James saw it.
Then there was you and Harry. You had lost two parents, gained multiple parental figures, and lost one of them in the span of a year. Harry had never seen someone die before, and it was even worse that the first death he witnessed was his own mother.
He saw you and Harry sitting on the couch together. Your arm was around his shoulder, and he was sobbing his heart out. People used to tell James that boys don’t cry and they should feel shame for showing such a vulnerable emotion in public, but at that moment, James felt proud of his son for having the courage to show his emotions in public, and proud of you for being a good supportive friend to his son.
The rest of the wake went by in a blur, the only other vivid thing James remembered being Dumbledore giving a small speech about Lily’s life before inviting whomever to give their own speeches about her.
This was the last day James would be in close proximity with you for a very long time.
Life went on, but you never stopped thinking about James. After saving up your money, Sirius helped you find a flat in London while Arthur was finally convinced to arrange for you to begin your training as an Auror under the mentorship of Kingsley Shacklebolt. Being as busy as you were, you stopped showing up to the Order meetings even though you received every invitation Arthur had sent you.
Although you were new in the Ministry, Kingsley still held you to the same standards and expectations as he did with the older employees. That only made you more eager to prove yourself which led to you being satisfied with the outcome of your hard work.
That didn’t mean you were any less grateful for the Potters, Weasleys, Sirius, and other members of the Order for helping to shape you into who you had become. You would never stop being grateful towards Lily for everything she had done for you over the past year you’d known each other. You felt that your gratefulness towards Lily and the sadness you felt for her death made you even more guilty of still having that same attraction you had towards James.
You still thought about him every night before you went to bed. Every time you thought about your memories with him while you were in bed, you would experience a dull ache between your thighs that didn’t go away unless you used your fingers, your hairbrush, or even your pillow to rub in that specific spot to relieve it.
Still wearing your camisole and your panties, you tried to drift off to sleep, but once again, your mind imagined that instead of you being by yourself, that James was next to you. It was summer which meant it was way too hot for you to put a blanket over yourself.
Your head started to feel hazy as your fingers traced over your lips, imagining a kiss with James. The knuckles of your other hand found themselves brushing from the back of your ear to your neck, where you remembered James had brushed a strand of your hair behind it during that training session.
There was no denying that jolt of pleasure that ran through you for a split second as his finger accidentally grazed along the seam of your shorts that covered your pussy. As if having your pussy lips being touched wasn’t enough, you had even felt the pressure of his finger on the sensitive little nub just above it. Just imagining his fingers being there again made that ache between your thighs burn even more.
You let your fingertips trail from your lips to your neck before going over the hardened peak of one of your nipples. You gasped at the pleasurable sensation you brought onto yourself. You continued to softly rub your finger over your nipple, then squeezing your breast, alternating between the two actions. The fingers of your other hand then went over the goosebumps covering your stomach before tracing over the lace trim of your panties. Your fingers were so close to circling over your clit and your inner lips which were so swollen from all the blood rushing to them that just the lightest pressure of anything against the thin material covering them would make you explode.
“Well, aren’t you a filthy little girl.” You suddenly heard a deep voice from the corner of the room, and you could see the shiny outline of a pair of glasses. You felt your cheeks reddening as you pulled your fingers away from yourself, embarrassed at being caught in such a private moment.
“James?” You gasped, sitting up, your hair falling to your face.
“You were thinking about me weren’t you?” His features started to morph into clarity.
“How…?” The next thing you knew, you looked down, and your camisole and panties were gone as you were laying down on your bed without anything to cover you.
You tried to move your limbs, but it was as if there was an invisible rope binding them onto your mattress. You looked up, and gasped to see James also wasn’t wearing anything either. He had taken his position in front of your bed, standing in front of it, and he was stroking himself. You were mesmerized by the way his hand slid up and down his hard shaft and the grunts that would come out of his mouth at every other stroke.
“Oh, James. I want your delicious cock! I can’t stop thinking about you!”
You were unable to control your mouth as you found yourself moaning those sentences out loud. You gasped, feeling mortified.
“Aww…” James frowned, feigning empathy. “You poor little slut. You couldn’t help yourself could you? Having all these filthy thoughts about me while I was married. You were a good girl, holding yourself back. But now you feel free don’t you? Free to take me? You’re ready to be a little slut.”
“Please! I’m sorry!” You couldn’t believe he would insinuate something like that. You had not once dared to feel happy about Lily’s death and claim James all for yourself. You would’ve hurt your friendship with Harry, and you would’ve been guilty of feeling like you were replacing his mother.
“You’ve been such a good little girl. Don’t you just want to give in?” James brushed his thumb over your bottom lip. It was as if there was something controlling you, making you unable to resist sucking on his thumb.
You looked into his eyes as he was smirking. He pulled out his thumb with a plop.
“I promise you, it’ll feel really good.” You shivered as he caressed your cheek. “I know that I’m hungry to feast on that delicious looking pussy you’re showing me.”
“Make me feel good, James!” You screamed, and you felt his warm tongue slide up along your inner lips before taking one of them in his mouth and sucking on it.
You released a loud moan that was straight out of those Muggle porno films you had found stashed in Sirius’ home that you watched without his knowledge.
His lips let go of your pussy before he moved onto your face. There, you found yourselves with your lips locked onto each other’s.
You didn’t understand what was happening as you felt like James’ lips were on every sensitive area of your body when his face was right in front of you. You felt a warm, wet sucking sensation on both of your nipples, making you arch your back and moan into his mouth.
Before you knew it, you felt his cock probing at your entrance. You stayed in your position, panting and moaning around him, overwhelmed and drunk on the pleasure he was feeding you. There was tension that started to build inside your core which began to build more and more pressure inside of you.
You were about to scream as you opened your eyes and were greeted by the sight of your bedroom which was empty of anybody else besides you. You were left with disappointment at the orgasm that died down inside of you with your waking breath.
You gasped at the familiar ache between your thighs accompanied by a warm wetness inside your panties.
If you couldn’t finish the job in your dream, you could at least do yourself a favor by doing whatever you could do to pleasure yourself.
You pushed the feeling of guilt that had come up in your dream to the back of your mind while your fingers found their way inside your panties.
You were so wet from your dream last night that it was easy for your finger to frantically slide up, down, and between your inner lips. You felt a wave of pleasure crash over you immediately as your middle finger applied the right amount of pressure on your clit while rubbing it. You came inside your panties while moaning and screaming James’ name.
As fast as your orgasm wore off, guilt took the place of pleasure. Tears started to form in your eyes at the realization of what you had done. Maybe you were the filthy slut that James from your dreams said you were.

"What has you so anxious?"
You snap up from the book you're reading, your back resting against a tree in a courtyard. Hermione looks at you with raised eyebrows, as she points towards your bouncing feet.
"It's nothing", you dismiss as you tuck your feet under yourself. "Too much sugar at breakfast."
The Gryffindor girl gives you a look, one you choose to ignore in favour of re-reading the same page for the nth time. You can't focus on the words. Your body is jittery with anticipation.
Your foot doesn't stop twitching until you spot an owl flying in your direction. Sitting up straight, you take the letter from the owl's claws and thank the animal with a scratch on its head.
Unfolding the letter, you read the simple message in the familiar handwriting.
Classroom 24C 14:00
You check your watch. You've got ten minutes.
With a quick snap of your book, you're on your feet. "I have to go. See you at dinner." You send a hastened smile before you practically run towards the classroom.
You try to catch your breath once you enter and lock the door of said classroom. The fireplace is lit, emitting a soft glow around the room. Your eyes survey the classroom, in search of someone. But it's empty.
Suddenly, the flames turn a poisonous green and it makes you turn your head. You wait for a moment to see if someone's coming through. But as the flames stay calm it's clear it's you who has to enter through.
Closing your eyes, you step into the fireplace with a big inhale of air. You get pulled and squished from all sides until you come to an abrupt stop and roll out of the other fireplace. You huff and quickly jump on your feet, dusting your robes off.
You stand in the tea room of Grimmault Place. Sirius's not far removed from the fireplace, anxiously pacing back and forth with his hands on his hips. Remus Lupin sits on one of the sofas, a woman with bright pink hair next to him. Nymphadora Tonks
As soon as Sirius notices your arrival, he's on you in a second. He holds you at arms-length as he turns you around to all sides, checking up on you. "Are you alright? What's happened? You're not hurt, are you? You don't look hurt."
To be fair, you've sent a pretty cryptic letter. I need to talk to you, was the only thing you wrote.
His worry about you brings a warm but unfamiliar feeling to your belly. You lay a hand on one of his, giving him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, I'm fine. It's not me that's it about."
You hesitate for a moment. Are you really doing this? If this reaches the Dark Lord it would mean your death, heir or not.
With slow movements, you take off your school robes so you're only in your blouse and skirt. You also take your wand out of your robe pockets and place it on the table where the three Order members can see it. "For my safety", you explain as they look at you weirdly.
Clasping your hands together, you take a deep breath. "Draco Malfoy has been ordered by the Dark Lord to kill Dumbledore. As punishment for his father's failed attempt to get the prophecy." You cut straight to the chase, seeing no need to mince your words.
Remus blinks rapidly, processing your words. "How... how do you know this information?"
"Because... I was there... when he branded Draco with the Dark Mark and gave him his mission." Tears well in your eyes, the agony in your cousin's eyes flashing through your mind.
The mood is tense between the four of you. You basically confessed to having seen Voldemort in real life. In close proximity.
"Why should we believe you? For all we know you could just fabricate this story to get attention." Remus raises from the couch, towering over you. You take a cautious step back as you swallow.
Sirius is quick to jump in your defence. "Now Moony, just slow down okay? Don't accuse her of something as it could be true."
"Draco cursed Katie Bell. He... he hexed her or something so she would take the package with the cursed necklace. To Dumbledore. There is also a Vanishing Cabinet in Hogwarts! I do not know where the other one is."
"Arthur Weasley was tipped off by Harry that there was a Vanishing Cabinet in Bourgin and Burke's. Maybe it's paired with the one in Hogwarts", Tonks intercepts Remus calmly, looking at you before back to Remus.
"Harry?"
Sirius hums. "He's been suspicious of Draco for a while now. But I wonder; is You Know Who so desperate to kill Dumbledore that he initiates a sixteen-year-old?"
You scoff humourlessly as you run a hand over your face. "Believe me, he also makes them take the Mark way younger."
Everybody stills and you know you've said too much. Sirius and you look at each other in shock. He slowly takes steps towards you until he's right in front of you. "What do you mean?"
Your bottom lip wobbles, tears threatening to spill out. You shake your head scared. He keeps staring at you until you break. "I didn't want to. He expected it of me and gave me no choice", your voice is unsteady as a single tear rolls over your cheek. "Don't hurt me, please." Your plea comes out in a whisper.
Sirius reaches out slowly to your left arm, pulling up your sleeve to reveal the bandages you have been wearing for almost two years now. You shake your head shakely, silently begging him to not do it.
"Please don't, Sirius."
But he ignores you. He untwists the bandages from your arm until it falls on the ground, the Dark Mark visible for everyone to see.
In an instant, Remus is upon you. He wraps a hand around your throat and points his wand in your face, the tip pressing into your cheek. "Did you tip someone off? Hmm? Does someone know you are here?"
Whimpers escape your restricted throat, tears now freely flowing over your cheeks. "No! No! I promise! Nobody knows! Please!"
Remus growls. He actually growls. He presses his wand deeper into your cheek and restricts your airflow even more.
"Let her go, Remus!" Tonks intercepts, pointing her own wand at the ex-teacher. "She's a child. She couldn't have stopped it even if she wanted to."
Remus' hand disappears from your throat and you slide down, coughing wildly and gasping for air. You hug your knees, sobbing. "I didn't want to. I didn't want to hurt the muggle. And he killed him. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." You rock back and forth, the horrible memories flooding back to you.
You feel arms circle around you and you look up. Tonks gives you a slight smile before pulling you up on your feet and helping you to one of the couches.
Sirius appears before you with a glass of water and your wand in his hand. He holds both out to you. You hesitate for a moment, but only take the glass with water.
"When did it happen?" He drops to eye level, his eyes showing only concern.
You swallow a gulp of water, your face contorting painfully. "Summer break before fifth year." Your voice is raspy.
"Do you know why he chose you?"
The answer lies like lead on your tongue. You're unable to move your lips. To give him a concrete answer. "Because... because I am the Heir of Slytherin."
You wait for it to sink in, your eyes trained on the ground, tracing the shapes of the Persian rug.
Sirius starts to sputter out half sentences. Tonks pulls a weird face. "So that means You Know Who and my aunt..? Ugh. Gross."
Her comment makes you scoff in humour. "He was good-looking when he was younger." You also pull a face as you realise you called your father hot. "Ugh indeed."
"No. No joking. This is not a joking matter! Who knows? Does Dumbledore know?" Remus butts in irritated.
You nod. "Yes, he knows. I told him in my second year. Only my family and the Death Eaters that have been around Malfoy Manor know if the Dark Lord being... my father. And Theodore Nott."
"Is he also one?"
You wildly shake your head. "No. And I never want him to be one. If I can, I'll try to prevent him. I don't want to curse him with this too..."
Glancing towards Sirius, you say, "Harry does not know. And I do not want him to know. Please don't tell him."
Sirius takes your hand, squeezing it. "This is your secret to tell, not mine."
You linger around Grimmault Place until you're calmed down. Sirius has given you some Wiggenweld to help you with your throat and you can barely feel it now.
As you stand before the fireplace, robes back on you and wand in your hand, you turn to Sirius. He lays his hands on your shoulders before giving you a bear hug. "You protected me and now I'll do everything in my power to protect you. I promise you."
You smile and give him one last squeeze. Tonks also hugs you, but it's more curt. "Next time we'll meet it should be to get to know each other, cousin." You give her a shy nod. Remus stands in the back and looks at you, not saying anything.
"I don't know when I'll be able to send any more letters, but I hope to see you soon." And with that, you disappear in the green flames and go back to Hogwarts.
Your heart is heavy but you're so glad that you finally told Sirius.

hello everyone!! i’m 22, she/they pronouns, looking for 18+ partners to do a harry potter marauders era rp over on discord! i would love if you would be open to writing multiple characters but please come willing to at least double.
i am mostly looking to write canon characters myself. however, i’m happy to write cc x cc or cc x your oc. but please be comfortable potentially doing cc x cc for my side of things or as potential ships if we decide to do a mumu.
i have a bunch of characters that i’ve been wanting to write for and against including but not limited to: regulus black, sirius black, remus lupin, james potter, evan rosier, barty crouch jr., pandora lovegood, frank longbottom, lucius malfoy, narcissa black, ted tonks, andromeda black, emmeline vance, marlene mckinnon, mary macdonald, and dorcas meadows.
in terms of ships, i have a bunch that i’ve been wanting to write (romantic, platonic, familial, etc.) hence why i would love for this to be a mumu, but again it’s not mandatory. some of the ships i can think of off the top of my head include: rosekiller, jily, jegulus, regulily, dorlene, marylily, pandalily, frank/alice, pandora/xenophilius, nobleflower and of course wolfstar. however there are a few rare pairs that i would be happy to include as well depending on what you’re comfortable with!!
in terms of writing, i am quality > quantity, i’m not a stickler for length or your activity level (i’ll never hound you for replies, take as long as you need). i do write in third person and descriptively. i love to plot and ramble about our ships and the characters ooc. i love making and sending inspo, edits, pinterest boards, etc. back and forth!
if any of this sounds interesting, please like this post and i’ll message you!

Hi! I found ur writing recently and I just really love it. I was wondering if I could request a nymphadora tonks x reader fic where they hang out together in the order. Idc where it goes from there I trust you! If you decide to use this prompt then thank you sm!! 🫶🏻
pillows, sleep, and sirius black yelling - nymphadora tonks x reader <3
Tumblr media
↳ she doesn't want to get out of bed. and neither do you. but the order calls and you have to answer.
↳ just some sweet fluff and cuddling! i hope you like this i made it nice and sweet <3
Tumblr media
getting up seems like the most horrible thing that could ever happen to a person right about now. the pillows are at the perfect level of broken in, the blankets are far too warm to leave the comfort of, and your girlfriend looks too adorable while curled into your side. you're right. getting up is the most horrible thing that could ever happen to a person right now.
you want to do nothing more but cuddle closer into her and to kiss her cheeks and head but unfortunately, the order scheduled an early emergency meeting and you have to get up. you have to and there's no getting around it. in fact, you can feel the tell tale shifting of the house to allow the members to enter the house.
"dora, baby," you whisper. she makes no reaction to let you know that she's even conscious. "we gotta get up, sweet girl." you nudge her gently and suddenly, she starts coming to life. her limbs move slowly and like a baby being born, her eyes blink open. with a groan, she stretches impossibly long and then shrinks back to her normal size.
"don't wanna get up," she mumbles. her arms wrap tightly around your middle and she buries her head into your chest. it's an adorable sight, one that crushes your heart, but you know that if you're not up soon, then sirius would come and find you. angrily so.
"i don't either, baby, but we gotta. dumbledore doesn't remember that most of us don't rise earlier than ten."
"ughhhhh," she groans. her head falls back and her eyes meet yours. there's a sweetness to them that entirely contradicts the frustration in her voice. "a few more minutes?" it's a whisper that you barely heard but you nod your head and hold her back tightly.
of course, the world is entirely against you at every moment of every day and you and nymphadora slept right until the very moment the meeting was supposed to start.
loud banging on your guest bedroom door woke you up with the most sudden, violent start. "y/n! nymphadora! get up!" it was sirius. of course it was. the two of you jumped, dora yelling a string of swear words as throws on some clothes she found in the duffel bag she packed. they don't entirely match but with a quick burst of magic, her hair changes colors and somehow brings it all together.
you, on the other hand, are much less coordinated. you have on a patterned pair of pants that do not much the colors in your top but it doesn't matter. the order was waiting on you down below and you would already be embarrassed entering the dining room.
"you're too comfy," dora said as she poked your side in the bathroom where you tried to make yourself look more presentable.
"shall i ingest a stone skin potion every night so you don't feel tempted to curl into me like a little cat?" you joked.
she smiled and shook her head. "absolutely not. wouldn't change a thing about you, doll."
your cheeks flare red and you leave the bathroom, and then the bedroom with dora a step behind you. the members of the order chuckled when you entered the dining room, eyes still clearly full of sleep. you held your head down and took a seat across from remus with dora at your side.
"long night?" he whispered before taking a sip of the coffee he had made for everyone. silently, he poured you a mug and you sweetened it to dora's liking so you could share.
at the head of the table, dumbledore began speaking about some important matters regarding safely transporting harry to the home and updating everyone on the information he had about voldemort. his bleak words were a stark difference to dora's warm hand tracing shapes on your leg.
you turned your head to look at her and she smiled when your eyes met. the look between you to said something like "when this meeting is over, we're going back to bed and cuddling until night time." you couldn't wait.

Pairings: Older!Remus Lupin x Fem!Professor!Reader
A continuation of the Charms of Fate series.
Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Plot Summary: Starting your third year at Hogwarts as the Charms professor proves to be difficult without having Remus by your side as you face new and irritating challenges at work, as well as joining a secret society.
A/N: Sorry for dropping off the face of the Earth for a bit. I started college and it's been hectic! Anyway, enjoy!
Warnings: Angst
________________________________
The next month was a whirlwind of chaos. Juggling between teaching and attending Order meetings and stakeouts, exhaustion became a constant companion. Even though you managed to spend weekends with Remus, it felt like your time together was slipping through your fingers. The increasing presence of Tonks added an extra layer of tension, her subtle advances persisting despite having dialed down from when you first met her. Remus, ever oblivious, remained untouched by her advances, making it challenging to direct any frustration toward him.
Work at Hogwarts had transformed into a dreaded ordeal. The atmosphere, once vibrant and engaging, had deteriorated into a nightmare, thanks to Dolores's oppressive presence. Her intrusive supervision loomed over everyone, making each day feel like an uphill battle. A sigh of relief escaped your lips as the last class concluded. The prospect of stepping outside for some fresh air became a beacon of solace in an otherwise overwhelming routine.
Navigating the corridors, you could sense a commotion ahead. Curiosity propelled you forward, and as you reached the courtyard, a disconcerting scene unfolded. Dolores and Sybill Trelawney stood at the center, surrounded by a sea of students. Sybill, tear-streaked and distressed, stood next to her belongings scattered at her feet. Dolores's stern expression communicated a harsh reality.
You quickened your pace, furrowing your brows at the unsettling sight in the courtyard. Students huddled in groups, whispering urgently, while Dolores Umbridge stood tall, a disapproving figure next to the distraught Sybil Trelawney.
"What's going on?" you asked a passing student, who looked at you with wide eyes.
"Dolores is kicking out Professor Trelawney! It's crazy!" the student whispered, their voice filled with a mix of shock and excitement.
Your heart sank, and you approached the scene, catching snippets of the conversation. Dolores's high-pitched voice cut through the air as she spoke to Sybill, her tone condescending and dismissive.
"You can't do this," Sybil stuttered out, her voice watery.
Dolores held up a piece of paper, "Actually, I can.
"Sybil Trelawney, your so-called 'prophecies' and vague predictions have no place at Hogwarts. Your services are no longer required," Dolores declared, a cruel smirk playing on her lips.
Sybill, on the verge of tears, pleaded, "Please, Dolores, you can't do this. I have nowhere to go!"
Dolores responded with a cold laugh, "Perhaps you should have thought of that before filling these students' heads with nonsense. Hogwarts needs serious educators, not charlatans."
The surrounding students watched in silence, some in shock, others in anger. You felt a mix of emotions – sympathy for Sybil and an intense frustration towards Dolores's unwarranted cruelty. As the crowd murmured in discontent, you couldn't help but think about the injustice unraveling before you.
The tension in the courtyard escalated as Dolores continued to gloat, but relief washed over you as Professor McGonagall arrived, a stern expression on her face. She approached Sybill, offering a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Shh, shh, my dear," McGonagall said, her voice soothing.
As the two women held each other, Dolores couldn't resist taking a jab. "Minerva, is there something you'd like to say?" she sneered, a malicious glint in her eyes.
McGonagall turned to Dolores, her lips thinning with restraint. "There is a great deal I would like to say, Dolores, but I'll save it for a more appropriate time."
Just then, the grand doors to the castle swung open, and Dumbledore strode out, his usually calm demeanor marred by a visible anger. The atmosphere shifted as all eyes turned to the powerful wizard.
Dumbledore, with a stern expression, turned to Professor McGonagall. "Minerva, would you please escort Sybil back inside?" he requested.
Sybil, still teary-eyed and emotionally overwhelmed, reached out to Dumbledore as she walked past him with McGonagall. "Thank you, Professor Dumbledore, thank you," she repeated, gratitude pouring from her voice like a balm for the wounds inflicted by Dolores Umbridge's harsh actions.
Dolores, undeterred, addressed Dumbledore, "Dumbledore, may I remind you that under the terms of Educational Decree Number 23, as enacted by the minister--"
Dumbledore cut her off, his voice stern, "You have the right to dismiss my teachers. You do not, however, have the authority to banish them from the grounds. That power remains with the headmaster."
Dolores smirked, defiantly adding, "For now."
Dumbledore, not willing to engage further, turned away and addressed the students, his voice commanding, "Don't you all have studying to do?"
He walked away, leaving a trail of subdued murmurs in the courtyard. The weight lifted from your shoulders as you released a breath you hadn't known you were holding. The injustice seemed momentarily halted, but the lingering presence of Dolores Umbridge reminded everyone that darker times loomed over Hogwarts.
____________________________
The flames in the fireplace crackled as you sat on the couch in your living quarters, the trio of Harry, Hermione, and Ron joining you. The atmosphere was tense, and Hermione voiced her frustration, "That foul, evil, old gargoyle. We're not learning how to defend ourselves. We're not learning how to pass our OWLs. She's taking over the entire school."
The radio is playing in the background and you can faintly hear the Minister's grating voice speak softly through the speakers. "Security has been and will remain the Ministry's top priority. Furthermore, we have convincing evidence…that these disappearances are the work...of notorious mass murderer Sirius Black."
You rolled your eyes, calling Fudge every bad name in the book. Caught in a slight daze, you jump when you hear a voice coming from the fireplace.
"Harry."
You and the three young students look towards the fire, Sirius's face emerging from the ember and soot.
"Sirius," Harry said, kneeling down. "What are you doing here?"
"Answering your letter," Sirius replied. "You said you were worried about Umbridge. What's she doing? Training you to kill half-breeds?"
"She's not letting them use magic at all," you retort, rolling your eyes once again.
Sirius let out a snort. "Well, I'm not surprised. The latest intelligence is that Fudge doesn't want you trained in combat."
"Combat?" Ron wondered aloud. "What does he think, we're forming some sort of wizard army?""
"That's exactly what he thinks. That Dumbledore is assembling his own forces to take on the Ministry. He's becoming more paranoid by the minute. The others wouldn't want me telling you this, Harry…but things aren't going at all well with the Order. Fudge is blocking the truth at every turn and these disappearances are just how it started before. Voldemort is on the move."
The weight of Sirius's words hung in the air, and you couldn't help but feel a bit panicked. Between this toad-faced twat and no nose Nancy, on top of lesson plans, grading, the Order, it was almost...too much.
As the trio and Sirius discussed the dire situation, you interjected, "We can't let Umbridge control the narrative here. Hogwarts should be a place of learning, not a breeding ground for fear and prejudice. We need to be prepared for what is inevitable."
Hermione nodded in agreement, "You're right professor. We need to find a way to resist her influence and keep learning. Knowledge is our best defense."
Ron chimed in, "And what about Dumbledore? Why isn't he doing anything about it?"
You sighed, "Dumbledore's hands are tied. Fudge has the Ministry wrapped around his finger. We need to figure out a way to defend ourselves and the school without relying on the official channels."
"It won't be easy, but we can't let them win," Harry replied.
You nodded, "Agreed. We'll need to be strategic and find allies within the school. Strength in unity." Before you bid your goodbyes to Sirius, you couldn't help but ask about Remus.
Sirius hesitated before answering. "He's okay. Misses you like crazy. He's been going on more missions. Sometimes alone, sometimes with..."
"With..?"
Sirius sighed. "Tonks. Well, he doesn't invite her, she kind of just tags along. I'm not sure what her intentions are, but I make sure she knows he's in a happy, committed relationship." You groaned in annoyance, ignoring three curious sets of eyes on you. Sirius turns his attention back to everyone. "I'm sorry I can't be of more help. But for now, at least, it looks like you're on your own."
And just like that, he was gone. You threw your head back against the couch, sighing deeply. Great. Another thing I need to worry about. A girl who doesn't know when to take a hint.
You feel tears well up in your eyes. You try to blink them back, but one falls down your cheek regardless of how much your eyelids flutter. You feel someone take your hand and you're surprised to sees it's Ron. You use your free hand to wipe you're face.
"Godric," you half laugh, half sob, "I'm sorry, I don't know what's the matter with me."
"It's okay Professor," is all he said. The four of you sat in silence, comforting each other.
_____________________________
"Dumbledore's Army?" you asked rather loudly, munching on chocolate sent from Remus, hunched over your desk, grading your students' homework. Everyone was out for the day, either going to Hogsmeade or lounging in their respective common rooms.
"Shh!" The trio hissed, casting a glance over their shoulder to the slightly ajar classroom door. You stop mid-chew, looking up at them, an eyebrow raised.
"We've been thinking, with Umbridge tightening her grip on the school, we need to do something. Dumbledore can't openly oppose her, but we can."
Hermione leaned in, her eyes reflecting the intensity of her thoughts, "We want to start a secret group, a defense class. Dumbledore's Army, to teach students how to defend themselves."
Ron, ever pragmatic, added, "It's not just about us. The whole school needs it. Especially since Dumbledore is gone."
You listened attentively, a mixture of concern and determination etched on your face. "Starting a secret society is risky, but I understand why you'd want to," you replied quietly. "How can I help?"
Harry looked relieved at your support, "We need a place to meet. We can't risk Umbridge finding out."
Hermione nodded, "And we need someone trustworthy to help with organizing and logistics. Dumbledore's Army has to stay off Umbridge's radar."
You set your chocolate and red pen down, leaning back into your chair. You noticed Ron trying to take a peek at whose work you're grading, snickering when he sees it's Fred's a giant red P in the top right corner. You scowl at him, pushing your papers in a desk drawer.
"I'll tell you this bit now," you begin, "you can't use this classroom." Harry began to open his mouth in protest. You held up a finger. "But, there is a room that might be able to aid you. It adapts to our needs and provides a level of security that other places can't guarantee. The--"
"The Room of Requirement," Hermione interjects in a whisper, "Of course." You smile slightly at her.
"Great. So where is it?" Ron asked.
You shook your head. "I don't know. It moves around the castle and only appears for those who is in need and actively seeking it."
"Guess we better start looking. Thanks Professor," Harry said, the three leaving your room.
"Be careful!"
____________________________
The weekend had finally arrived, and with it, the anticipation of seeing Remus at 12 Grimmauld Place. As you opened the door to the building, a sense of excitement filled you. However, the atmosphere inside was tense, and Sirius, appearing in the hallway, attempted to divert your attention away from the dining room.
"Hey there! What's the rush?" Sirius grinned nervously, blocking your path.
You tried to smile back, but your eagerness to see Remus outweighed any interest in Sirius's playful banter and you were starting to grow irritated. "Where is Remus? Is he in the dining room?"
Sidestepping his attempts at distraction, you pushed him aside and walked into the dining room. Your heart sank as you saw Tonks practically in Remus's lap, both of them laughing. Suppressing your frustration, you loudly dropped your bag on the table, drawing their attention.
Sirius followed you into the room, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Ah, I see you're back! Ready to join the fun, I see."
You shot him a look, silently asking him to drop the act, but he only raised an eyebrow in response.
Remus stood up, a radiant smile on his face. He was genuinely happy to see you. However, your excitement quickly turned to anger. "We need to talk," you gritted out. His smile faded, and he nodded, following you upstairs to his room.
Remus's expression turned concerned as he observed your demeanor. "Everything alright, love?" he asked softly.
You hesitated, feeling a surge of frustration mingling with hurt. "I'll explain in a moment," you replied tersely, not wanting to have the conversation in front of Tonks.
"What the bloody hell is that, Remus?" you demanded as soon as the door closed behind you. He looked genuinely confused, asking what you meant. "Tonks! What is going on with you and Tonks?"
Remus's brow furrowed in confusion. "Nothing, why do you think that?" he replied, genuinely puzzled.
"Because every time I see her, she's bloody all over you!" you retorted, your frustration boiling over. "I know we don't see each other as much as we used to," you continued, your voice tinged with a mixture of hurt and frustration. "Is it because she's younger, prettier?"
The words hung heavy in the air, each syllable laden with the weight of unspoken doubts and insecurities. Remus's expression flickered with a mix of surprise and hurt, his features contorted with a mixture of emotions.
"It's not about that," he started, his voice strained with the effort of trying to explain. "It's just…"
"Just what?" you interrupted, your tone edged with impatience. "Just that she's more convenient? That she's always around?"
Remus's gaze wavered, a flicker of remorse crossing his features. "It's not like that," he insisted, his voice tinged with regret.
"Then what is it like?" you demanded, your voice rising with frustration. "Because from where I'm standing, it looks like you're letting her take my place."
The hurt in your words was palpable, a tangible reminder of the distance that had grown between you. Remus's expression softened, a hint of understanding in his eyes.
"I never meant for you to feel replaced," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "You mean everything to me."
The sincerity in his words tugged at your heartstrings, stirring a whirlwind of conflicting emotions within you. Despite the hurt and doubt, a part of you still longed to believe him.
"I want to believe you," you admitted, your voice barely audible. "But it's hard when I see her always by your side."
The admission hung heavy in the air, the unspoken tension between you threatening to suffocate any semblance of resolution. Remus's expression softened, his concern evident. "I'm telling you, Y/N, it's not what it seems, believe me. Tonks is just a good friend," he reassured you, reaching out to touch your arm.
But your frustration only intensified as you confronted Remus about his obliviousness to Tonks's advances.
"Remus, how can you not see it?"
Remus's brows furrowed, his expression shifting from confusion to defensiveness. "What are you talking about?" he retorted, his tone tinged with irritation.
"I just told you what I'm talking about!" you shot back, your frustration bubbling to the surface. "I'm tired of seeing Tonks all over you, and you doing nothing about it."
Remus's eyes narrowed, his jaw tensing with frustration. "You're being ridiculous," he snapped, his voice tinged with annoyance.
"Ridiculous?" you echoed, disbelief coloring your words.
"You're being insecure," Remus retorted, his words cutting through the tension in the room. His tone was sharper than you'd ever heard it, and it stung more than you cared to admit.
"Insecure?" The word hung in the air, heavy with hurt and disbelief. "Is that what you think?"
Remus's expression softened for a moment, but it was fleeting. "Look, I don't know what you want from me," he continued, frustration evident in his voice. "Tonks is just a friend. Nothing more."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" you shot back, your voice trembling with a mix of anger and sorrow. "Because it doesn't."
Remus sighed, running a hand through his hair in exasperation. "I can't keep having this conversation with you," he muttered, his eyes avoiding yours.
"Then maybe we shouldn't be having any conversation at all," you replied, the words bitter on your tongue. With that, you turned and left the room, the weight of disappointment heavy on your shoulders.
As you stormed down the stairs, tears streaming down your face, Sirius intercepted your path, his concerned voice breaking through your turmoil. "Hey, wait a minute. What happened?" he asked, reaching out to touch your arm.
You recoiled from his touch, shaking your head in frustration. "Not now, Sirius," you muttered, your voice thick with emotion. Pushing past him, you continued your descent, your heart heavy with the weight of betrayal.
At the foot of the stairs, your eyes locked with Tonks's, who sat there casually sipping a glass of water. The smugness in her gaze only fueled your anger further. Every fiber of your being wanted to lash out, to retaliate against the perceived betrayal.
Instead, you bit back your initial impulse, the urge to dump the water over her head subsiding. With a bitter edge to your tone, you muttered, "He's all yours," before turning on your heel and storming out, leaving the bitter taste of resentment lingering in the air.

hey everyone!! i’m looking for 18+ partners to write with on discord. i am hoping to do a harry potter rp, preferably set in the marauders era!! i would love if you would be open to writing multiple characters and multiple ships for this but if you’re not comfortable with doing too many ships, please come willing to at least double.
for this, i am mostly looking to write canon characters myself. however, i’m happy to write cc x cc or cc x oc. i would be honoured and thrilled to write some of the marauders characters against your oc’s if you have them! but please note that i would also like to include some ships as well so please be comfortable potentially doing cc x cc for my side of things or as potential ships in the mumu.
i have a bunch of characters that i’ve been wanting to write for and against including but not limited to: regulus black, sirius black, remus lupin, james potter, evan rosier, barty crouch jr., pandora lovegood, frank longbottom, lucius malfoy, narcissa black, ted tonks, andromeda black, emmeline vance, marlene mckinnon, mary macdonald, and dorcas meadows.
in terms of ships, i have a bunch that i’ve been wanting to write (romantic, platonic, familial, etc.) hence why i would love for this to be a mumu, but again it’s not mandatory. some of the ships i can think of off the top of my head include: rosekiller, jily, jegulus, jegulily, dorlene, marylily, pandalily, frank/alice, pandora/xenophilius, nobleflower and of course wolfstar. there are a few rare pairs that i would be happy to include as well depending on what you’re comfortable with!!
not all of the pairings need to take place in the same universe. i’m happy to do au’s (both magical verse au’s and non magical verse au’s). i’m also happy to dabble in other eras as well if you’re interested but marauders is currently where my brainrot is at the moment. i would like the plots to be more mature, possibly with darker themes but that’s not a requirement. however, all the characters will be 18+ regardless of whether or not smut is included. we can include smut if you’re comfortable with writing it but if you’re not i’m happy to fade to black.
in terms of writing i am quality > quantity. i can write both shorter para stuff and longer multi-para stuff, i’m not a stickler for length or activity level. but i do write in third person and descriptively. i love to plot and ramble about our ships and the characters ooc. i love making and sending inspo, edits, pinterest boards, etc. back and forth while we’re writing and i would love a writing partner who wants to get as invested as i am!
i would like to say that most of these characters, to me, are headcannon based and because of that i’m not looking for or expecting any specific characterizations from you. there are little to no canon information about some of these characters so, in my opinion, take what you feel is right and run with it. i won’t ever complain and i prefer fanon stuff anyway!
if any of this sounds interesting, please like this post and i’ll message you!

I have a little mini challenge for you and you can’t veto it!
Stick the following Brumous couples with someone else other than who they’re paired with (you can’t use someone who is dead):
Harry x Ginny
Ron x Demelza (I know it’s endgame)
Sirius x Tegan AND Sirius x Marlene (you can put Sirius with any of them)
Remus x Tonks
Arthur x Molly
Andy x Ted
You made this unnecessarily hard by banning dead people. I am in my right mind to ignore this rule. 🤣🤣🤣
First up, the easy ones.
Harry/Ron: There is at least one universe in which these two are together. You cannot change my mind.
Ginny/Demelza: Again, there is one universe these two are together. There has to be a universe where you are just getting it on with your bestie. You can't change my mind.
Tonks/Sutton: She is so sunshiny that she needs a slightly grumpy man. While Sutton isn't self-deprecating like Remus, he's not happy-go-lucky either. Plus, he's older than her and she digs older men.
Andy/Hugh Slughorn: Andy and Ted are soul mates, right? So, the only way she's not with Ted is if she followed in the Black family footsteps and was a good little pureblood girl like Narcissa. Who better than a pureblood from the Sacred 28 who isn't a raging blood purist but wildly successful? IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW. If you don't, well, then you haven't read all my stories. 😂😂😂😂
Arthur/Random Muggle Girl: I could totally see Arthur meeting some Muggle girl and falling head over heels in love with her. He'd be FASCINATED by everything. She'd find him endearing.
Now, onto the hard ones.
Sirius: He's hard in my mind. My first thought was, of course, James, because if any of them dated in that group it would be James/Sirius and NOT Sirius/Remus. But you said no one dead. I could see him getting with some random Muggle girl to stick it in his parents' faces.
Tegan: She's hard as well because her entire schtick in Brumous is that she can't move on from David and she's just a serial dater. I can't see her dating any Auror because it would remind her too much of David. Being an Auror, I could see her becoming close to some lawyers. So, I'll pair her with Magnus Shacklebolt who is only a year younger than her.
Marlene: I want to just say Charlie because if you know you know, but that seems like such a cop-out answer and we all know about hot girl Christmas on here. I could see her dating an Auror because of her family connection to Aurors. She'd know a lot of them thanks to her dad and brother. I could see her dating someone like Axel Lowe who is charismatic and friendly.
Remus: I know you said no one but seriously... no one. Remus is a major commitment-phobe. The only reason he even had a relationship with Tonks was because she was fucking in-love and wouldn't give up. She wasn't about ready to let him wallow either. So, I'm breaking the rules and saying I legit cannot see Remus with anyone except for Tonks. He'd die alone.
Molly: I think Molly would have married a pureblood, not because she's a purist or anything but just because the Prewett family is a part of the Sacred 28 and it seems like something Aunt Muriel would advocate for. I don't think it'd be any DE line, but perhaps an Abbott or Longbottom or a Macmillan.
Ted: He obviously likes the mysterious girls. I think Andromeda probably had an air of mysteriousness about her. Proper and gorgeous and tall. Yet, there was a soft side to her and she laughed in a way he never expected. So, it couldn't be anyone in Hufflepuff or even Ravenclaw. I could see him either getting with another Slytherin girl from a prominent family but not a blood purist because he reeks forbidden love or I could see him being with a Gryffindor who was fierce and fiery.

I’m a wolfstar-shipper, but I actually really like the Tonks x Lupin pairing as a concept; it had a lot of potential that, unfortunately, was not met (though I am a sucker for tragically bittersweet endings, as well as characters who deem themselves unlovable being loved unconditionally, so kudos for that). Part of the perceived poor execution comes from the fact that the Harry Potter series is told through limited narration: we know what Harry knows, and we may be more curious about certain relationships that exist within his periphery than he is. There could’ve been an entire contextual build-up to their seemingly abrupt feelings for each other that Harry - and by extension us as readers - simply did not experience. Personally, however, I feel like we could’ve been thrown a bone regarding their developing romance here and there, considering that it has already been established just how much Harry eavesdrops. Granted, we did get Molly mentioning how people rush (romantic) decisions in trying times: “Its all this uncertainty with You-Know-Who coming back, people think they might be dead tomorrow, so they're rushing all sorts of decisions they'd normally take time over. It was the same last time he was powerful, people eloping left, right, and center...”
And now for the potential in dynamic I mentioned: after losing the rest of the Marauders, Tonks’ whimsy might have been just the thing to reawaken Remus’ playful side and create a light in the darkness of war (remember Dumbledores quote about turning on the light?), and Remus could’ve helped cultivate her mature side. As with any good ship (imo), there was also plenty of room for angst: Tonks was an auror, Remus classified as a “Dark Creature”. You can imagine the rest.
I don’t mind their 13 year age-gap as much as I thought I would (and other people seem to do), but that might just be a matter of personal taste (and my complete and utter trust in Remus as a good, if occasionally self-destructive and cowardice person). They’re both consenting adults.
What I do mind is the way Tonks’ character changed for the worse as her feelings for Lupin became apparent. What used to be a fun, likeable character turned bratty and unable to read the room (perhaps it is not the time to publicly press for a relationship label - especially with a notoriously private future partner - when he is in mourning). It has however been ages since I last read the books and God knows the films don’t do Remadora justice, so I won’t go too much into that (unintentional?) negative character arc.
As a final note I’d like to say that Wolfstar could be canon-compliant (or pretty much any Marauders-era ship involving Remus) as Remadora happens later on, and bisexuality exists. Luckily, because Harry Potter and the fanon around it are works of fiction, you can interpret the characters and their interpersonal interactions however you like, which is why I politely ask to remain civil in discussions about this post, which I genuinely do hope will occur. No but seriously. I’d love if you voiced your opinion (regardless of whether you agree with me or not) - you’ve already read this far anyway! Thanks for that by the way.
Tldr: I like Remadora conceptually because of their potential, but it (mostly) fell flat.

heyy, I’m looking for a fic where they are muggles and go to either college or uni. Draco breaks up with hermione since he thinks she’s too clingy (something along those lines) and after a few weeks realises just how much he misses her?
added info, they are like best friends and break up a lot, and get back together. That’s why Draco’s so distraught when she doesn’t come back soon after?
thanks in advance 🤍
notorious - noelleKINDOF - E, one-shot - He never liked how she was so chatty and always smiling and laughing. She always forced him to eat breakfast and never shut up during the movies. He should be glad when she left but somehow, her absence just left a hole in his chest. Well, fuck. Originally a fic I posted either on wattpad or fiction press but I made it dramione.

"Harry Potter is dead!"
Laughter rang out on the battlefield as the Hogwarts' students and professors' faces dropped with Voldemort's announcement as Hagrid carried Harry's body. It can't be, can it? Harry Potter, the Chosen One, dead? Hermione and Ron are in disbelief as they hold each other close.
"And now it's time to declare yourself! Come forward and join us…or die."
There was tense silence as they looked around, fear in their eyes as they waited for whoever wanted to join his army. Harry was restless as he waited for the right moment, eyebrows furrowing a little when he heard Narcissa and Lucius call out to Draco.
"Come, Draco." Lucius beckoned him over. Draco looked at his mother who smiled a little and nodded. "Come now."
Draco's eyes watered as he stared at his father, hoping one last time he'd be better, but he continued calling him over. However, Draco was tired and stood his ground as he shook his head, closing his eyes as his father got angrier. Luna, seeing his discomfort, whispered to him in her dreamy voice, "Do not worry, you'll be safe here, Draco." Narcissa nodded once more as she held her husband back. All she wanted was to keep her son safe and she's hoping that she made the right choices.
Everyone looked as Neville limped forward, eyes in disbelief as they watched. Voldemort grinned, "Well, I must say I hoped for better. And who might you be, young man?"
Neville stood his ground, "Neville Longbottom."
The Death Eaters cackled. Voldemort was grinning as he said, "Well, Neville, I'm sure we can find a place for you in our rank."
"I'd like to say something."
"Well, Neville, I'm sure we'd all be fascinated to hear what you have to say."
"Doesn't matter that Harry's gone."
Seamus interrupted him, "Stand down, Neville."
Neville turned, frustrated. "People die everyday! Friends, family. We lost Harry tonight."
"He's still with us, in here." He said, pointing to his heart. "So as Fred, Tonks, all of them. They didn't die in vain."
He looked at Voldemort who was grinning, "But you will, because you're wrong! Harry's heart did beat for us, for all of us!"
Neville pulled the sword of Godric Gryffindor from the hat, saying, "It's not over!"
This prompted Harry to drop out of Hagrid's arms, screaming, "Confringo!" as he pointed at Nagini, who hissed as the spell bounced to the nearby Death Eaters. Voldemort screamed as he pointed his wands, sending spell after spell on Harry's running form. His Death Eaters were mostly leaving, but a moment of silence occurred as a spell went past Lucius.
"Hey, leaving so soon?" Everyone stared at the newcomers. Voldemort's eyes were twitching as he tried to remember who this was but Lucius, oh Lucius, was frozen in his spot. "We haven't even joined the party."
"You're supposed to be dead." Lucius said as he stared at Regulus. "You died!"
"Well, Harry's not the only one who, let's say, came back from the dead."
Evan and Barty stepped forward, eyes watering as they regarded their old friend. "Missed me?"
Everyone was confused and scared as Evan and Barty approached Regulus who was on the side opposite Voldemort, save for Hermione who remembered Regulus and turned to Ron, "R.A.B.! That's Regulus Black!"
Whispers erupted as they regarded the man, Sirius' brother, who had his wand still pointed to Voldemort. Evan and Barty were by his side, and for this moment, they weren't Death Eaters but brothers in arms as they also raised their wands towards Voldemort.
"It's not just me, Voldy, let's just say, I've brought friends."
"Aww, we're friends, Reggie?" Dorcas grinned, hand in Marlene's who snickered.
Harry stared, recognizing the people who've joined Regulus, which was impossible because they're supposed to be dead. Harry's head turned when he heard another voice, eyes watering.
"You can't sirius ly leave us, Reggie." James grinned, who found his son and waved. "Hey, Haz. I'm sorry I'm late."
"Prongs, what the hell is that?" Sirius has his hand in Remus' who was grinning as well, his wand pointed to Peter and the other Death Eaters. "Even I could sirius ly doe better than that."
"I swear, I thought this was all over. Guess I was wrong." Lily said to Mary as they walked together, smiling sweetly at Harry. "Hello, Harry."
"This can't be. You're all supposed to be dead!" Voldemort snarled, his wand pointed at them. "This is impossible!"
"Yeah, well, you're supposed to have a nose, but look where we are." Sirius grinned, winking at Harry who's still dumbfounded. How are his parents and their friends (SIRIUS) alive?
"Let's cut the bullshit, alright?" Regulus said, his wand pointing squarely at Voldemort. "You're nothing."
"I'll have you kn–"
"Look around you," Regulus grinned in a sinister way. "They're almost gone. You have nothing left, Voldemort. I can't let you hurt anyone anymore, not on my watch."
"Everyone, get back inside!" Ron and Hermione helped the students go back as they watched, some of the Death Eaters were still by Voldemort and ran to battle with the students, but the adults prevented them from doing so.
"Harry, dear, I know you're the chosen one and all, but let's leave it to the adults, yes?" Regulus grinned. "Let's get to know each other after this, I'll see you."
Harry nodded, running to where Hermione and Ron were. They fought the other Death Eaters with less power, still confused, but didn't stick around to know until the war was over. James grinned as he looked at Regulus, raising his eyebrows, suggestively. Regulus huffed, rolling his eyes. "Later, Potter."
"Wouldn't have it any other way, Reg."
"Keep it in your pants when I'm within earshot, okay, mate?" Sirius playfully glared at his brother and his best friend. "I'm serious. I don't want to hear about anything."
Regulus breathed out a laugh. "Of course, you're serious. You're Sirius Black."
"And, I'm Regulus Black," his eyes turned grim as he looked at Voldemort. "Let's finish this, shall we?"

Battle Within
Words: 1154
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Reader
A/N: I will no longer be writing for Harry Potter/JK Rowling after posting the remaining requests I have for HP characters.
Request: Could I request a Lupin x Reader where they both survive the war and they help each other through their losses? She helps him with Teddy? - Anon
______________________
Letting him stay at yours was the least you could do. The two of you, like everyone else, were struggling after the battle.
He’d saved your life in the battle just as Tonks had lost hers. You blamed yourself for her loss, he could have saved her life instead and Teddy would have both of his parents.
The two of you had been close before the battle but living together for a year now had brought you closer than ever.
He knew he could have gone to stay with Tonk’s mother but he also knew he wouldn’t be able to face her every day, she still visited frequently and Remus was grateful for that.
Although it was tough, to begin with, things had got better. Initially, a second didn’t go by where both of you didn’t cry, finding comfort in each other's arms as you held one another as some sort of grip on reality.
Gradually the tears subsided and you were able to discuss what happened, a great aid in you coming to terms with the losses.
You found solace in each other's company and you were sure that you wouldn’t have been able to recover without it.
You both raised Teddy together, Remus had promised to be the best father he could and he was true to his word but sometimes you took on the responsibility of caring for the child to give Remus a break.
You felt guilty about the relationship you’d built with the man but neither of you could deny the feelings you felt for each other.
Walking into your shared home you shrugged off your coat “It’s just me.” you called gently through the house.
Sliding off your shoes you stayed silent, expecting a response but froze slightly as none came.
“Remus?” you stayed quiet and listened for a second. The sound of muffled sobbing had you moving quickly through the house.
The man held his son against his chest as he cried.
“Is everything ok?” you approached the two and place a hand on Remus’ back and Teddy.
The man continued to cry and leant into your touch.
“Let me take him a second, come on.” The man loosened his embrace as you took Teddy.
Leaving the room you placed Teddy in his crib before returning to Remus, the man had sat himself down on the sofa and tried to stifle the tears as he held his head in his hands.
Sitting down next to the man you placed a hand on his back. “I’m here. It’s ok, I’m here.”
The man leant into your side as you wrapped your arm around him. The embrace was unusual but you waited until his crying had stopped.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be.” you removed your arm from him “What was that about huh?”
The man sat back in the chair and looked at you. “I’m really grateful for you Y/N. I know I don’t say it enough but I wouldn’t know what to do without you.”
You smiled and felt heat come to your face and a lump collect in your own throat. “I’m grateful for you too.”
“You’re too kind. I’ve done nothing for you Y/N, you’ve helped me grieve and raise my child. You’ve been my friend when I felt so alone.”
You took his hand “You’ve done plenty for me. You’ve given me a friend when I most needed it, you saved my life in more ways than one.”
The man squeezed your hand and the two of you sat in silence.
Your eyes landed on parchment sitting on the coffee table before you.
“Did you get an owl today?”
The man nodded and sat forward, picking the parchment up with his free hand he handed it to you. “I’ve been asked to teach again at Hogwarts.”
Your eyes skimmed over the words “This is great news.”
“It is.” he agreed as you turned to him “but I’m not sure I want to take it.”
You looked at him sincerely and encouraged him to continue speaking.
“Well we both know what happened last time and what people thought about someone like me teaching their children. But more than that I don’t know if I can leave Teddy.”
“We both know how much attitudes have changed now and you know that. I’m sure that Andromeda would take Teddy.”
The man nodded and looked away from you “I know, I know. I’m not sure that I’d want Andromeda to have him though. I respect the woman I really do. I love her and she’s his grandmother but I wouldn’t want to put that on her.”
“I’m sure she’d-”
“Would you look after him? He enjoys your company, he knows you. He likes you a lot” he let out a small laugh “Just like I do.”
You were lost for words at the mans confession “Remus I’m honoured but what would they think.”
“I don’t care.” he whispered “I wouldn’t dream of leaving him with anyone but you. You’re the only one I trust nowadays and you’ve been working to make money for the three of us for far to long. They’ve agreed to pay me more than enough to take care of us all.”
You took in what the man had said “I’m not giving up my job.” you nudged the man “I’ll see if I could be more flexible with my hours and while I’m at work Andromeda could look after him. I think that’s the best option here.”
The man smiled “How could I not agree with you? You’re always the voice of reason.”
You smiled and began to stand ready make your way to the kitchen to make some tea “Who knows, you might even get me a job up there and we can raise him together at Hogwarts.”
“That’d be a dream come true.” the man admitted. “Y/N?”
“Yeah?”
“I think we need to admit what we are”
You stopped in your tracks and turned back to him. The man took both of your hands in his and stood up. “I know” you spoke quietly.
You looked up at the man “I just feel so bad. I don’t want people to think-”
“They won’t and who cares as long as we’re happy. We both know how horribly short life can be and I will always treasure the time I had with Tonks. I’ll always love her but I love you.”
“I love you too.” You felt your heart skip a beat as you said the words out loud.
The man pulled you close to his chest and rested his cheek on your head as you embrace him back. You weren’t sure how long you stood like that, he placed a kiss to the top of your head before pulling away.
“I should write back.”
“I’ll go check on Teddy.” you gave the man a smile and he gave you one in return.

Your hc of bill and Fleur getting divorced is something I don’t see often but I’ve had similar thoughts before!! I love both characters but I think it went to fast and there were so many differences between them that didn’t bring them closer. Potentially there’s a chance of it working but I, like you, can’t imagine Bill willing going to therapy.
Thank you! I’m glad that I’m not the only one! 😊
Yeah, I don’t think Bill would have any issues with his siblings getting therapy, but I just don’t think he would go himself (likely because of a subconscious pride and toxic masculinity thing - “It’s okay for them, but I don’t need it”).
I’ll admit that I’m biased about Bill x Fleur, because I'm one of the few people that dislikes this pairing, which I wrote about in this post. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but there are just so many things that bother me about them, so here comes a rant. 🤣
My Issues with Bill x Fleur
1. When they started dating, Fleur was just out of high school while Bill was in his mid-twenties.
2. Fleur jumped into a relationship right after she moved to a new country and was suddenly isolated (physically) from her friends and family.
3. Bill never defended her to his family.
4. To continue with my first point, Fleur seemed like a lovesick teenager around Bill:
“’E is always so thoughtful,” purred Fleur adoringly, stroking Bill’s nose.
...Fleur, who was now feeding Bill bits of turkey off her own fork...
“Did you hear about Florean Fortescue, Remus?” asked Bill, who was being plied with wine by Fleur.
There’s nothing wrong with that, per se, but it makes her seem too young (in my opinion), and they just don’t feel like a mature, established couple.
5.  I also think there's something to be said about the fact that they did get married during a war - yes, they could have definitely done so for the right reasons, but it's also possible that it was more of a reaction to the unstable situation that caused the feeling of "life is short." It's a little telling that Bill takes a desk job because of the war, and suddenly he's in a serious relationship with the woman he's going to marry. It could be a coincidence, but it could not be. 🤷‍♀️
6. Bill & Fleur seem to be the next generation of Molly & Arthur in terms of their relationship dynamic - the dominant woman and the passive man who only contributes when prompted. This is obvious by the way he never intervenes with Molly & Fleur and in scenes like this:
They needed Griphook. The goblin ate only grudgingly with the rest of them. Even after his legs had mended, he continued to request trays of food in his room, like the still-frail Ollivander, until Bill (following an angry outburst from Fleur) went upstairs to tell him that the arrangement could not continue.
I would assume that this does not suddenly change when they have children. Again, there's nothing wrong with that, per se, but it does make the relationship seem unbalanced, and it's unfair that Molly/Fleur are left to handle the discipline and be the "bad guy" most of the time. For many people, that would eventually lead to resentment because they do not feel like their spouse is contributing to the emotional work of raising children (unless specifically asked to do so).
7. This is more of a side complaint (not a major one), but we literally never see any actual conversations take place between them. They occasionally address each other in one sentence, but it’s never anything more than that, which is odd. We see each of them have conversations with other characters, but not with each other. Yes, Harry's perspective is limited, but he's been around them together several times, and we’ve seen conversations take place between every other pairing in the books (like Remus x Tonks). I don't know; it not a big deal, but it just feels off to me.
That's just my interpretation though, and it's certainly based partially on my own experiences in life/relationships, so feel free to ignore it!
Thanks for the comment! 😊

Grimmauld Place was quiet. Remus, Tonks, and Andromeda left you alone. Kreacher didn’t talk around you like he used to. Your friends stopped writing letters when you never responded back. After the funeral, everyone came to the same conclusion. You needed time. And a lot of it. The only thing that broke through to you was Padfoot. Even the plants in the attic had been neglected. You had big plans to work on your alchemy over the summer and they all fell through.
You arrived at the Burrow with Remus and Tonks. It was agreed that having people in Grimmauld would not be taking your mental health into consideration. No one ran to you when you walked in. They all just watched and waited for you to put down Padfoot but you never did. You weren’t even excited to see Fleur or hear of the engagement between her and Bill. You merely gave your former Alchemy classmate a wave.
“Where’s Harry?” you asked before coughing.
“Not here yet. He’s coming with Dumbledore in a minute.”
You nodded and said you’d be upstairs. Mrs. Weasley pulled Remus aside.
“She’s coughing again?”
“Not from screaming,” he reassured. “She just doesn’t say more than two words a week. She hasn’t this entire summer. If she talks more, it’s to the cat.”
“Do you think she’ll come down for dinner?”
Remus shook his head. True to Remus’ word, you hadn’t come down for dinner. They weren’t sure if you had gone to bed or not. Eventually as each person passed by the bedroom you were in, they could see a light underneath it. It was late into the night when someone knocked on your door.
“Come in,” you said almost barely above a whisper.
Harry poked his head through the doorway. “(Y/N)?”
He didn’t expect you to run to him. Harry was barely given time to breathe before you were kissing him. You closed your door, keeping your back against it. At first, Harry kissed you back before pulling away because he felt like something was wrong. You looked at him before dropping your head on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry,” you said.
“Not that I don’t love snogging you but… that wasn’t you, (Y/N). What’s wrong, love?”
You met his eyes. “I need to feel something, I haven’t since…”
Harry kissed your forehead and held you close. “I’m not taking advantage of you and snogging you up and down the Burrow, but I’ll stay here tonight if you want.”
“Please?”
You went back to the bed and closed your eyes while Harry changed into pajamas. He held you close to him, drumming patterns on your back until you fell asleep. You clutched onto him in your sleep in the same way you had been holding your cat for most days.
Harry couldn’t believe that Remus considered this the better version of how you had been. The first bit of your summer was riddled with crying so much they thought you might pass out from dehydration. You had finally moved into the stage of not feeling anything. According to Remus, a step in the right direction but Harry didn’t believe it much. He turned over so you were both on your sides— you didn’t stir at all. Pressing a faint kiss to your shoulder, Harry went to sleep.
Morning didn’t bring much change to you. Harry reluctantly gave you a kiss after you begged and said he wouldn’t be taking advantage of you. He pulled away before it could turn into snogging. Ron informed Ginny and Hermione that Harry hadn’t come to his room to sleep and they all could assume where he was. It was like everyone moved around you. They learned how. You would sit on the couch or in the Weasleys’ garden. If you were holding Padfoot, they knew not to even try speaking. If you weren’t or you sat next to one of them, they could talk but they shouldn’t expect a reply back. You started sitting at the dinner table for meals. You barely ate. Mrs. Weasley wouldn’t let you up from the table until you took a few bites.
They were glad to see you were no longer in black— not completely. You were wearing all your Hufflepuff stuff, adding the splash of yellow. Considering at dinner on the first night Remus told them that you had been wearing only Sirius’ clothes before progressing to black, the addition of yellow was very much welcomed. You came downstairs after everyone else and dropped Padfoot next to Harry. He absentmindedly petted your cat as you went to get water. Mrs. Weasley wouldn’t let you leave the kitchen until you ate a scone. You sat on the couch and flopped your head onto Harry’s shoulder. He poked at your shirt.
“This looks nice.”
“Thank you. I thought I should try to be happy for Fred and George.”
You all were going to Diagon Alley to get school supplies and check out Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes now that it was up and running. You reluctantly left Padfoot behind, holding onto Harry’s hand instead. Diagon Alley resembled you. Almost all life had been sucked out of it. Voldemort being back and Sirius marked as his first official kill made the entire wizarding world scared. You almost enjoyed it in a bit of a sadistic way. If they had listened in the first place, your father would have been alive. So they all deserve to suffer a bit— it wouldn’t compare to how you were. You left the Weasleys when you spotted Draco getting his robes refitted. Narcissa immediately roped you into a hug as you entered the store. She turned solemnly to Draco.
“Look after each other, you’re the only family you’ve got left.”
Draco nodded before looking at you. You didn’t smile or do anything really so they let you out of the store. You didn’t go back to the Weasleys right away. You marched to Gringotts and did the thing you had been avoiding all summer— closing Sirius’ bank account and putting all the money back in yours. It was the final step in letting your dad go. You told yourself that once you closed his account, you would work on feeling happy again. But wallowing felt nice. You thanked the goblins and made your way to Fred and George’s shop. Everyone was already outside.
“He’s replaced his father, why else was he in that shop?” You heard Harry ask.
“I don’t know but would You-Know-Who even let Malfoy join?” Hermione asked.
A fight wasn’t what you wanted. You ignored what they said and walked up as if you didn’t hear. They got quiet as if they hadn’t just been gossiping about your cousin. You wanted to find a time to bring it up that wouldn’t cause an argument. By the time you sat down on the Hogwarts Express, you still hadn’t found the proper time. You finished putting up your trunk and went to find Harry who was getting something from the trolley right outside. He was surrounded by a bunch of girls. Somehow, Harry became the very interesting Chosen One to everyone. It’s like they forgot he had a girlfriend. Or didn’t care. That became apparent when you heard Romilda Vane introduce herself.
“You could come to our compartment, it’s got to be more interesting than (Y/N)’s wallowing.”
You exited the compartment and none of them seemed apologetic. Harry’s arm snaked around your waist. You grabbed at his sweater and snogged him. The girls scoffed and walked away. You glared at the spot where they had just been. Harry squeezed at your sides, making you look at him.
“Romilda Vane isn’t taking me away from you… but that was kind of hot.”
“We can snog more in the compartment, Ron and Hermione are already harassing the first years and letting everyone know they’re the prefects. It’ll be empty for a bit.”
Harry went to move his hands from your waist but you stopped him.
“You aren’t taking advantage of me. I broke up once with Cedric to try and recover and it didn’t work, I don’t want to break up with you.”
“I don’t want you to break up with me either.”
“I closed my dad’s account at Gringotts, we moved all of his stuff into the attic at home. I’m a prefect again. I’m supposed to be working on my Alchemy project, helping in Potions. I can’t do any of that if I shut down. I spent the summer sad or feeling nothing… I want to feel something again and I do with you.”
“Are you sure?”
“Harry, please kiss me.”
You were forced to walk backwards as Harry put his lips on yours and moved from the hallway to the compartment. With one hand, he practically slammed the sliding door shut. You pulled Harry down until he was resting most of his weight on one hand as you two laid down on the train seats. It was desperate. You knew it. You wanted him to make you feel breathless because it would mean feeling something. Like you felt jealous when those girls were talking to him. Was it right? No, but feeling jealously felt better than feeling emptiness or even apathy. The kiss couldn’t have been more aggressive if you tried. You both pulled away to catch your breath for a moment, laughing when you met each other’s eyes.
“I missed that sound coming from you,” Harry said.
You didn’t get the chance to answer because he was kissing you again. One hand took your chin and tilted your head back even more. You were forced to break apart when someone knocked on the compartment door. Harry opened it and you sat up straight at recognizing the third-year Hufflepuff. She was holding a scroll in her hand.
“Professor Slughorn wants to invite you to lunch in his compartment… he said to tell you that he wanted to speak to you later, (Y/N), when you weren’t still grieving.”
Harry said a small thanks and she skittered away. He opened the invitation to see exactly what she had said. He held it up and you understood that he had to go. He pressed a kiss to your hairline and closed the compartment door behind him. The moment Harry left, you felt kind of empty.
You sat back down and just watched the scenery go by. You needed to find yourself sooner rather than later you decided because you couldn’t just use Harry to make you feel again. He didn’t return after the lunch hour was over. You didn’t have time to wait for him. Little ones needed you and you were a prefect. Changing into robes, you gave yourself a look in the hand mirror you brought. You practiced a smile in the mirror.
“I can do this, keep smiling and it’ll be real one day.”
The smile definitely felt forced but the young students were none the wiser. You looked around Gryffindor, confused as to why you didn’t see Harry. It wasn’t until the sorting had finished that you watched him walk in with a bloody nose. There wasn’t a lot of time to think about him. You were leading the new group of first years to the common room— lying about the streak never being broken on letting an outsider in. By the time you got to your room, your cheeks hurt. You pulled out the diadem— Sirius’ first gift— and set it on your nightstand next to the photo of you and your dad that Andromeda took over the holidays. Padfoot meowed and you nodded.
“I miss him too, buddy. But we’ve got to keep going… hello?”
You opened your door to see a first year. He seemed a bit panicked. “I’ve never spent the night away from my brother. We’re twins and he was put in Gryffindor.”
“Well, it’s curfew so we can’t sneak out— not that I’m ever recommending that. But, the kitchens are technically open to Hufflepuffs after hours. Do you like hot chocolate?”
You closed your door and led the boy to the kitchens where Kreacher and Dobby made two glasses of hot chocolate. The first year seemed calm enough to go to bed. You knocked on the barrels— it was now the one in the very center. Making sure the boy got upstairs first, you finally went to bed.
The morning of schedules was complicated. You gave out schedules along with the fifth year prefects because you had already had your schedule confirmed with Professor Sprout. All the other sixth and seventh years were getting their schedules checked by the Head of their House. Just like last year, the younger students laughed as you smacked Ron and Harry in the head with schedules whenever you passed by— this time adding Seamus, Neville and Dean to the mix. Harry grabbed your wrist as the fifth schedule went to hit him. He pulled you close. You scrunched up your nose when you heard oohs coming from behind you.
“Harry Potter, this is very unbecoming behavior of a prefect.”
“But smacking me with a schedule isn’t? You seem better this morning.”
“I’m trying.”
“You’re doing great.” He pecked your lips and you heard squeals from your table.
McGonagall ignored the two of you as she grabbed Harry’s schedule. “You don’t want to be an Auror anymore, Potter? You haven’t applied for N.E.W.T. level Potions.”
“I wanted to but I only got an E on my Potions O.W.L., I needed an O.”
“When Professor Snape was Potions teacher,” McGonagall started. “Lucky for you Professor Slughorn is content with letting students that scored E take the class… and while not forbidden, brazen public displays of affection are frowned upon. You have read the school handbook, haven’t you, Professor?”
“Yes, Professor,” Harry said as he let go of you. “Wait, Prof— who’s a professor?”
You handed out the last schedule you were holding to the Hufflepuff right behind you. The rest of the Golden Quartet looked at you before Dumbledore stepped up to the podium. You said nothing, sitting at the Gryffindor table. Dumbledore cleared his throat and everyone who wasn’t currently getting a schedule checked looked at him.
“We meant to announce this yesterday but circumstances still felt a little wrong. However, the school year is starting and after talks last night, we have decided to proceed according to plan. Many of you know your fellow classmate (Y/N) Black became an alchemist two years ago. As the only living alchemist, we are happy to have her bring back alchemy to Hogwarts as an official class. Alchemist Black, do you have any words?”
Your friends watched with jaws dropped as you left your schedule at the table and began to walk up to the front of the Great Hall. Ron opened the scroll and gave a half scoff half laugh while looking at it.
“She’s taking only two classes. Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms.”
A chorus of ‘what’ came from around him. Ron passed it around to the DA members at the Gryffindor table. They all read the same thing, not believing it. They all looked at you when you reached the front. You fiddled with your prefect badge before looking at everyone.
“Hello.” You gave a little wave.
“HI (Y/N)!” Dean screamed at the top of his lungs, making the whole room laugh and you relax a bit.
“Right, hello. I know everyone’s seen what’s happened in my family. I am still processing it but after speaking with Professor Dumbledore, I decided that I want to continue with plans we discussed towards the end of last school year. Alchemy is available to start taking. For anyone in seventh year, I probably just wouldn’t take it because you won’t have another year to do your own project. Sixth years are welcome to try but it might be the same as seventh years. And for anyone in fifth year and under, it’s an intense class and honestly you might not be successful but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. You’re going to be taking advanced bits of all your other classes to do this. I hope to see some faces in class, thank you.”
You walked away before running back up, making Harry laugh.
“Oh, I’m still available to help in Potions but I’d like to make a recommendation. If you need any help in Herbology, ask Neville Longbottom. He really knows his plants.”
You nodded in confirmation to yourself that you said everything you meant to say. Neville gave you thanks when you got back to the table. You told him that he should ask Professor Sprout about taking your spot as a professor’s assistant. Neville knew his way around a greenhouse just as well as, maybe even better than, you did.
“How are you only taking two classes?” Seamus asked. “You passed N.E.W.T.s but shouldn’t you still have at least Transfiguration and the other classes we just took O.W.L.s for?”
“There wasn’t much I could do over summer so I took N.E.W.T.s for the classes that I hadn’t bothered with yet. McGonagall let me finish Transfiguration because of my Animagus status, it’s not like I was ever improving anyway.”
The others were talking about what you just said. While breakfast was being eaten, students were debating whether they should take Alchemy. People kept going back and forth to the professors table to ask their Head of House to either put it on or take it off of their schedule. You flopped your head on Harry’s shoulder and he looked down when you sighed. He patted your cheek.
“You don’t have to try all day. When you’re alone or with us at the table, you can stop, you know.”
“If I’m not trying all the time, will it get better?”
“I think it will. You could only try for an hour a day and it would eventually get better.”
“Thank you, Harry.”
“No problem… you don’t happen to have the books for Potions this year? I didn’t buy the N.E.W.T level one.”
“Sorry, I don’t. But Slughorn’s got to have extra copies. I wish Dumbledore told me he was taking Snape’s spot, I wouldn’t have agreed to be a professor’s assistant if I knew it wasn’t Snape.”
“That’s exactly why he didn’t tell you. He hasn’t been telling much of anything lately.”
You looked up. “Is something going on?”
“No. Not yet anyway. I don’t think you should worry about it, though. You should be focused on recovering completely.”
“Alright, but tell me if something is going on.”
“I will.”
You lifted your head up completely. Breakfast was almost over— people had already begun leaving to get to their classes. You gave Harry a kiss.
“I have to go set up for class, I’ll see you in Defense Against the Dark Arts.”
You got up and walked out of the Hall. Your classroom wasn’t too high up in the castle. The room looked like a copy of the Hufflepuff common room. The front was full of mismatched armchairs, beanbags, and sofas. There was a large chalkboard in front of the furniture and your desk was angled off to the side of the board. The back held lab tables and a few individual desks. The entire sides and back of the room were lined with low shelves.
While you couldn’t work on your own alchemy project, you managed to finish going through Flamel’s journal. He marked a lot of findings to never finished projects that inspired your ideas for class. Being the only fully realized alchemist that was still living meant you got to decide how alchemy existed. You decided that it would flourish. You didn’t believe in hiding how you created things. Not only would Hogwarts students learn practical alchemy but you would gladly share it with all the other wizarding schools around the world. It shouldn’t have been a class of just theory anymore.
Of course, there were still lines you wouldn’t cross. No one was going to learn how to make the Philosopher’s Stone. You agreed with Flamel destroying it after Voldemort almost got it— there would not be another one. No one was going to know that you had Flamel’s journal. You stood by your principle that no one should live forever and so— at least in your class— you refused to teach how to create the Elixir of Life.
A sigh of relief left your lips when you saw that your first class of the morning was filled with a bunch of nervous first years. A schedule suddenly appeared written in the corner of your chalkboard. You assumed it was Dumbledore or Professor Sprout’s doing. All first years interested had class first period on Thursdays and Fridays because technically they already had full schedules. First period on Tuesdays and Wednesdays were given to all second years for the same reason. The rest was split throughout the week like other electives with students from all Houses at a time and done around your schedule— which wasn’t hard when you only had two classes. The kids sat at the tables in the back.
“Come up to the sofas. This is where we’re having most of class. Sit where you want.”
They grabbed their bags and moved up. You moved to stand in front of your chalkboard.
“Technically, I think you’re supposed to call me Professor so go ahead and call me (Y/N). Don’t be nervous. I’m much nicer than everyone else, especially Professor Snape.”
You found yourself smiling when they laughed. You grabbed a beanbag and sat down with them.
“Alright. What is Alchemy?”
You called on them one by one, shaking your head as they gave wrong answers.
“Alchemy is finding the highest and lowest point of existence. Some of you mentioned metal to gold or immortality. Those are examples. Metal’s highest existence is gold, life’s highest existence is immortality. We aren’t just going to focus on the highs and lows. There’s a lot of fun in the middle as well. You won’t be doing big things this year but if you continue taking this class, by fifth year everyone will have turned salt to gold. And by seventh year you will be able to take up one of two established projects, either recreating a restorative medicine from Alchemist Dzou Yen or turning any liquid into water. Some of you may even come up with projects on your own.”
“What do we get to do this year then?”
“Reading. A lot of reading but also learning certain skills that your peers might not learn until third or even fourth year. And I do have some tiny things planned along the way. Should we get started?”
The sixth years walked in to see first years excitedly talking to each other as they left class. Your back was turned as you erased the board to write new notes, not knowing that the others had already come in. Based on the looks of the younger students, the sixth years thought that maybe Alchemy was going to be fun. They stopped watching the first years leave and turned to look at you when you muttered an ‘oh no’. The enchanted chalk had left your hand and was now floating where you couldn’t reach. You stretched your fingers to no avail. Pulling your wand out, you pointed at your chalk.
“Accio chalk… oh come off it, you know I can’t do magic very well. Just return to my hand, please.”
The students snickered when you stomped your foot at the chalk not coming back.
“Accio chalk.”
You turned to see all of your classmates standing at the doorway of the classroom. Harry was holding the chalk piece in his hand. Having seen where the first years had been sitting, everyone automatically walked to the furniture. Harry handed you the chalk.
“Thank you, I think Dumbledore forgot that I would struggle with enchanted chalk. I’m going to have to get normal ones,” you said as you put the floating chalk back in the little cage with the others.
You looked around to see who all had taken your class, surprised and encouraged that it was your friends. It was basically all of DA plus your cousin and his friends. That part worried you a bit, Draco being in class with everyone else. Tension seemed high this year before it even started and a fight was the last thing you wanted to deal with. You weren’t even sure if you could deal with it. You sat back down on your beanbag.
“You all make me nervous, I think I liked the first years better. Um, this won’t be easy. The babies get their class spread out through all seven years at school, you guys get two. We’re going to condense theory and practical work all into a year. And unlike fifth years, you don’t get two or three years to work on final projects. You only get seventh year.”
Draco sat back on the loveseat. “I think we’re up for the challenge.”
The rest of them echoed agreement. You looked at your cousin who gave a nod of reassurance.
“Okay. Well, here’s the plan. The end of this year is about turning salt into gold. Before that we’ll be doing helium from sunlight, selenium from moonlight, oxygen bubbles from water, and light into solid colors that you can touch. Sound good?”
“Sounds great, (Y/N). What books are we supposed to have?” Dean asked.
“I haven’t gotten that far… I had to look through multiple books when I took this class. There isn’t one solid alchemy textbook, it needs to be created. But everyone buying or even borrowing hundreds of books isn’t helpful either.”
“Then what do we do?”
“I’m working on it. For now, Harry, can you multiply these pages for me?”
He did as you asked and you handed out the pages to everyone. The first thing was understanding the basics of Alchemy. They had an advantage at having learned most of the potions needed. You weren’t completely rushing them but it still would be a challenge. Everyone piled out of class as it ended except for the Golden Quartet. Harry helped you up from the beanbag.
Hand in hand you walked to one of the two classes you had— Defense Against the Dark Arts. You immediately separated from Harry before the two of you entered the classroom. Based on Snape’s previous reaction to the two of you attempting to hold hands, it was an awkward moment that you didn’t want to relive. You went up to the front to speak to Snape.
“I failed my O.W.L.s, I shouldn’t be in this class. It’s N.E.W.T. level. Shouldn’t I be with the others who failed?”
“Even if you can’t perform practical magic, your connection with Voldemort has Dumbledore very concerned. You’re taking N.E.W.T. level because you need to learn what is going to be used against you.”
“I won’t be able to defend myself, though.”
“You can’t do a simple levitating charm but you can fix a broken glass. One might argue that the latter is harder. I’ve heard with Mr. Potter’s help, you’ve conjured a patronus. There might be something that you learn you can do and it’s important we discover it. Now back to your seat, I have a class to teach.”
You fought the urge to roll your eyes at the dismissal. This must have been what Harry meant by Dumbledore didn’t say much these days. Because the old man could have told you when he approached you about taking on teaching an Alchemy class. If Voldemort having a connection to  you was as important as his connection to Harry, Dumbledore could have mentioned it.
Instead, he only mentioned his fascination at you teaching. That and giving you a children’s book saying you could learn from it in ways he didn’t think someone other than a banshee could. You weren’t sure what you were going to be learning from The Tales of Beedle the Bard which you had heard enough of as a child when it was told to you at bedtime. He could have said all that but you were left to wonder why he didn’t as Snape began his lesson— deciding to immediately start instead of giving a relaxing first day. It was clear Voldemort was a threat in the world and every day you all had to prepare for it to be your last.

*stares off dramatically into the distance* I haven't heard that name in forever.
Nickleback...
fuck yeah I'll do it.

I'd come for you (Draco x reader)
warnings: war, swearing, injury.
Time around you felt unreal as your feet rapidly hit the ground. It seemed every five seconds you were looking over your shoulder. You slid across the ground, unable to fully stop without Tonk's help as she braced you into a halt. "Where's Harry!?" You asked. "I don't know- we're all looking for him" She said. You looked behind her, shoving her back as you tackled Fred out of the way from an explosion.
"Holy shit!" Fred gasped. "Y/n! Fred! Are you alright!?" Percy asked. "You-you just came out of nowhere!" Fred said in shock. "I'm okay, Fred, are you?" you asked. "I was just standing there- You saved my life!" Fred said. "Fred!" you said, catching his attention. "Are you okay!?" you repeated. "My head hurts but I'm fine." he said. "Good. Has anyone seen Harry or Draco?" you asked. "We thought Draco was with you?" George said confused. "Fuck." you breathed.
Out of all the places to lose one another, this was possibly the worst. You felt a hand on your shoulder, turning around your eyes met that silver pair. You hugged him, him hugging you. "We need to get to Remus, Tonks thinks he's being rushed." Draco said, out of breath. "Shit, where was the last place we all saw Remus!?" You asked. "We really should've invested in Sirius's idea of trackers or at least his pager idea so WE'D KNOW WHERE TO GO!" George sighed. "
You saw Hermione and Ron coming down the stairs. "Where's Harry?" You asked. "He's going after something." Hermione said. "Okay then, where's Remus?" you asked. "Near the west hall." She said. You nodded, Draco, Fred, George and Percy all running. You stopped though, looking through a window before frowning. "What's wrong?" Percy asked. "It's the east side, it looks like the dungeons are about to collapse, someone needs to go get the students that are fighting out of there!" you said. "I'll do it." Percy said. "Wha- Percy, are you sure!?" George asked. "I need to make myself useful, go get Remus." Percy said. "But-" "GO!"
You nodded, the rest of you pressing on. As you entered the hall, a pillar collapsed, blocking you from Draco and Fred. "SHIT!" You gasped. "That's the second time I've nearly been crushed!" Fred huffed. "There's a side entrance through the main hall, we'll try to catch up!" you said. "Be careful!" Draco yelled. "Same goes for you!" You shouted back before George and you ran. "I really didn't work out enough for this!" George breathed. "At least you played quidditch, I got nothin'" You panted.
You sprinted with George next to you when you turned a corner, wand being shoved against your chest. You gasped, being met with the bitter glare of Lucius Malfoy. "How lucky am I" He said, pushing you back as another death eater held back George. "That even in a place with hundreds of students, I managed to find you." He said. Your heart pounded in your ears before another man spoke. "Let me have at her Malfoy" He said, his face making it clear he was a werewolf. "just a taste." He said, licking his lips.
Lucius looked at you and then Fenrir before shoving you to the ground. "Go ahead." He spat before George yelled "DON'T YOU FUCKING TOUCH HER!" as he thrashed against the other death eater. "Don't worry" Fenrir said, gearing up. "You're next." He said. Your heart hammered in your chest as Fenrir prepared to pounce. "Any last words?" He asked. You closed your eyes tightly. "Draco... help" You whimpered, before you felt a sharp pain against your skin making you scream bloody murder.
It wasn't long that a red bolt of light shot from above you, knocking Fenrir back. You could feel your chest becoming damp and warm, your chest rapidly rising and falling. "Y/n! Y/n, stay with me love" Draco breathed as Remus kneeled next to you. "It-it hurts-" You whimpered, Draco lifting you. "I'll get her to the infirmary!" He said. Your eyes were becoming heavier as Draco rushed with Fred next to him.
You couldn't hear anything, it sounded too distant. You slowly closed your eyes before opening them to a white room. You leaned up off of a bed. This was your bedroom, a place you hadn't set foot in since Voldemort's return. However in this version, it was completely white.
"You're here too?" A voice said. You turned to see Percy sitting at your desk. You swallowed hard. "are we... dead?" you asked. "I know for a fact I am... You were right, there was a collapse. I uhm.." He scratched the back of his neck. "I managed to get everyone out but myself." He admitted. "Oh..." You said. "I dunno about you though... You seem... You feel like you're at a cross between. I think it's up to you." Percy said.
"It is." another voice said. Standing in the doorway was Sirius. You stared at him with wide eyes. "Is there any hope for Percy if he's here?" You asked. "I'm afraid not..." Sirius said. You looked over at him. "I've made my peace.." Percy said. You looked over at Sirius. "Is it terrifying? dying?" You asked. Sirius kneeled down, putting a sympathetic hand to your cheek. "It's just like falling asleep." He said softly. "I understand if you want to stop fighting but..." Percy sighed. "If you can help it, I think we'd both prefer for you to live." He said.
You looked at Sirius. "He's right you know.. I think that best friend of yours needs you now more than ever." Sirius said. Your hand held Sirius's as tears fell from your cheeks. "I miss you." you whispered. "I know... But there are plenty who need you." he said. You nodded, wiping your eyes. "How do- how do I wake up?" you asked. "It's quite simple." Sirius said. "Just wake up."
Your eyes snapped open as you gasped, leaning up. Molly jumped back and you panted. Draco looked relieved. You looked around the infirmary, Remus and Tonks standing next to your cot. "Is the battle still going?" you asked. "Yeah." Tonks said. Hermione walked in with Ron.
Molly frowned. "Where's Percy?" She asked. A glimpse of that white room flashed in your mind before you took her hand. She turned. "Molly he's.." you drew in a breath. "He's gone." you said. Molly put a hand over her mouth and you bowed your head. "He and Sirius made sure I lived." you said quietly. Ron blinked. "Sirius's been dead for-" "I know." you said, your voice almost a whispered. "You... You saw Percy? You're sure?" Molly asked. "He managed to get students out of the collapse in the east hall... I don't think he made it out." you said.
Draco held your freehand as Molly sobbed into Arthur's shoulder. "We'll... We'll go investigate." Tonks said before leaving. About thirty minutes passed before it was confirmed, Remus walking in with a body in his arms. You slowly got out of the cot, staring at your bandages as Molly wailed over her dead son.
You looked back at the infirmary. Sirius didn't die for you to quit here. You looked at Draco. "we need to get back out there." you said. He frowned. "Y/n, you almost died-" "I need to help." you said. Draco held both of your hands. "I nearly lost you." he said. You slipped one hand away from his, putting it to his cheek. "You will never lose me." you whispered.
He smiled slightly. "But I can't let Percy's sacrifice be in vain. I need to be out there. Please Draco." you whispered. He nodded slowly. "I'm not letting you out of my sight." He said. "And we're not letting you out of ours." Fred said, wiping his eyes. "Fred-" "Not to play the death card here, but our brother just died. We're not letting anything happen to you out there." George said. "It's otherwise you go with us or no one goes." Fred said.
You nodded, drawing your wand. "let's go."
You fought for a while before Harry was finally put in front of you.
dead.
Another life had been lost and this one was the one that let you know that it was over. The battle was over and somehow you had lost. Draco pulled you close to his chest, almost as if he was trying to block your view of Harry. You blocked everything out, noise was vacant from your mind. From the nook of Draco's arm though you could see Harry. Sirius's death was looping in your mind alongside Cedric's before you noticed what no one else did.
Harry's hand twitched. You leaned off of Draco as you realized Harry wasn't dead. You needed an opening, a moment to get Harry's wand so that when he stopped pretending, he'd have a way to strike. That moment arrived when Voldemort asked for followers.
You, to everyone's surprise stepped forward. "What are you doing!?" Tonks gaped. You turned back to her before mouthing "trust me". Voldemort chuckled. "It seems Lucius's judgement on you may have been wrong my dear girl." he said. You looked over at him. "He's wrong about a lot of things." you said, voice flat. "What motivated you to join me?" He asked. You noticed Harry's hand twitch again, making it clear he was awake fully. "Oh y'know." you walked over completely, standing next to Narcissa who had his wand. "A wand." you said before snatching it, Harry rolling out of Hagrid's arms as you threw his wand to him.
You managed to skillfully dodge attacks as you slid across the ground, before sprinting. "FUCKING RUN!" you shouted to Fred and George who followed alongside Draco. You reached the main hall, panting as you did. "You're fucking insane!" Draco breathed. "Yeah, when was that a debate?" you asked before seeing a clash of red and green.
The power from the wands seemed to almost melt as it struck against one another. You watched with wide eyes before suddenly the light was extinguished. You stared as Harry stood there, you letting out a relieved laugh, Draco gaping. "We won?" He asked. "We won." Fred breathed. "We won." George gasped. "WE FUCKING WON!" You yelled, sprinting back out into the courtyard. You hugged Harry, him gaping at the sounds of cheering.
"I did it- we all did it- we... It's over." he said relieved. You nodded, pulling away. "It is, it's finally over." You assured. He let out a relieved chuckle as Ginny hugged him, scattering kisses across his face.
Draco smiled, looking at the group celebrate. "Draco! What are you doing? Get over here you git!" Goerge laughed. Draco smiled, walking over. You smiled, laughing at something Hermione had said when you looked at Draco. You weren't talking, you were almost appearing to be seriously contemplating something. "Y/n? You good?" Remus asked. You still were looking at Draco before you said "fuck it" and pulled him by the collar of his shirt, kissing him.
He was shocked of course but once he registered what was happening, he pulled you close, smiling against your lips. George chuckled as you pulled away. "We have got to win more wars if that means you'll kiss me again." Draco laughed. You rolled your eyes but smiled. He moved strands of hair away from your face, looking into your eyes. "Y/n this war... it... nearly took you from me." He mumbled. "I know" you said softly. "And... I do love you... and I'd love to be yours... if you'll have me." He said. You smiled at him. "Gee. I have to think about it." You said making him roll his eyes now. "You've got me in a box here, maybe I should do a group vote or-" "Oh bite your tongue" Draco said with a smile, pressing another kiss to your lips. You smiled before pulling away. He looked in your eyes. "Of course I'll have you." You said softly.
Hand in hand you all made your way home. Home to rest. Home to grieve. Home to finally be done with all of this. But as you were walking you had this unexplainable need to turn around. You looked over your shoulder and you saw something that made you stop.
For a brief moment you saw Sirius leaning against a pillar and Percy standing next to him, both wearing proud smiles. "Y/n? Darling are you alright?" Draco asked. You turned back. "Yeah..." you turned back to the pillar, nothing being there.
"Just thought I saw some old friends for a moment."
