There are characters in this franchise who did not let themselves be bit by a three headed dog to protect a stone or ran through the castle in their nightshirt upon hearing someone scream.

Or agreed to spy on the most dangerous person on earth withoutht gaining anything.

With the prospect of being tortured and killed if they were ever found out.

Who risked being exposed by trying to save Lupins life at the battle of the seven Potters- eventhough they hated that man.

Who ignored forbidden activities their students did so they would not be punished by the deatheaters(,the carrows).

Or who lept out of a window so they wouldn‘t have to hurt his colleagues.

And still Severus remains the most hated.

To quote another post i can‘t find anymore:

„These are not the actions of someone who does not care.“

His actions show, that he cared deeply for the safety of his students and colleagues.

And still he is treated worse that Bellatrix or Barty or Regulus or Draco or Lucius.

When he was the most caring and devoted and human all of all of them.

Make it make sense.

Actions speak louder than words.

Healing

(So I read a fic where Harry was the mole and Draco had to heal him after he was discovered and it inspired this. If I could remember what the fic was called I'd tag it but I can't find it for the life of me.)

"Wh-where's Harry," Draco croaked. It was the first thing out of his mouth when he woke up.

"He's busy," Ginny responded vaguely. She and Hermione took turns watching over the makeshift infirmary they'd set up for Draco in their hideout while Ron and Harry and a team of Aurors were out finishing the mission. Ginny had accepted the job reluctantly after being assured repeatedly that Draco wouldn't be waking up any time soon so Hermione could take her shift sleeping.

While she appreciated all that he'd done with this particular mission— going undercover to gain the trust of the criminals in order to find out more about their plans and report back to the Aurors before he was eventually found out and tortured—she wasn't sure she'd ever be able to forgive him for what he stole from her. So she avoided his eyes and conversation as much as she could.

Harry burst in, shoving aside the tarp they'd hung up to block off the infirmary. "I'm here," he said, gaze not even bothering to fall on Ginny as he quickly strode past her. He was covered in dirt and blood, his clothes torn. "I'm here, Draco. I'm right here."

"Harry," Draco sighed.

Harry was at his side in an instant, holding Draco's outstretched hands and leaning in to rest their foreheads together. "I'm here," he whispered again, eyes closed as they embraced each other.

Ginny looked away in time to see Ron pass through the tarp. Her big brother took one look at the scene in front of him and gave Ginny a pitying smile that told her he understood she was hurting and that everything—including herself again eventually—would be fine.

She looked back at them—Harry making sure Draco was comfortable and Draco trying to make sure Harry wasn't hurt from the mission—and for the first time since she and Harry broke up, she realized that they really do make a cute couple.

Okay so hear me out: draco as a spy for the order.

He proves himself to the golden trio in fifth year, for reasons I have yet to explain but will figure out soon enough, and runs to Severus during the summer in between fifth and sixth year before he gets the dark mark. Snape calms him down and they figure out what draco wants to do moving forward and what would be the smartest thing to do while keeping his morals in tact. They figure out the spy solution.

So snape takes draco to the order and is like “he should be a spy” and everyone’s like “no 😠” at first but then dumbledore goes “yes 🤓” and everyone goes “yeah we were joking he can join our club 😁” (I’m being funny not serious. I am also seriously minimizing the amount of time all of this will take and the complexity of all of it, but follow along)

Does all of that make sense? You guys obviously can’t read my mind and have no idea what I’m going to do with the characters yet, but this solves a big plot hole that I was trying to figure out a way through.

Harry barely sleeps these days. The dark circles under his eyes are getting more prominent and his skin looks dull. Some nights, Ron can hear muffled sobs and in the morning, Harry's eyes are red and puffy. This morning however, there is a tautness to his muscles, and a manic look in his eyes that speaks of adrenaline fuelled over-thinking.

"Couldn't sleep?" he asks in sympathy.

Harry is lying face up on his cot, staring at the ceiling. "I'm going to kill him," he mutters. "I'm going to kill him myself."

Ron decides not to pretend like he doesn't know who it is that Harry wants to personally kill. "Let it go mate. He's small fry in the war."

"He betrayed me. I can't forgive that."

"Maybe he was threatened, or some other reason."

Harry sits up with a jerk. "What possible reason?" he spits "there is no reason. He fucking played me. I want to wrap my hands around his Death Eater neck and just... Sometimes it's all I think about." He presses his fists to his eyes.

Ron sighs. There is no getting through to Harry, not when he's like this. "I'll put the kettle on," he says.

Harry might never get over the betrayal of his lover, but his grief will change. In the early days it had made him depressed, crying and smoking and staring into space, now it's an all-consuming anger. With time Ron will watch it simmer down and solidify into steely eyed determination. Always changing, never gone.

It's a cold foggy evening when he gets the long awaited signal from the source. It had been three weeks since last contact, the longest yet, and he had begun to feel fretful.

He disapparates to their new meeting spot, a mossy patch of ground next to a boulder deep within the forest. He is already there, dark Death Eater robes billowing in the wind. Ron stops ten feet away and they exchange a series of code words before the source gives him a nod. "Weasley," he acknowledges.

Ron walks closer and nods back but doesn't say his name. It's too dangerous.

It's a short, efficient exchange. He is handed over the security blueprints to a Death Eater stronghold as well as detailed counter-curses to some nasty new curses that the dark side has recently come up with.

"I was worried," he says, before the man leaves.

"I'm fine," he replies with a smirk, though he doesn't look fine. He looks like Harry often does.

"Harry's not fine."

Malfoy closes his eyes, as if in pain.

"Do you ever regret it? For Harry's sake?" Ron asks.

Malfoy scoffs, "What choice was there?"

"You know, regardless of whether you die or make it out alive, when the truth comes out after the war, Harry will still see this as a betrayal, just a different kind. He will see it as you taking away his choice from him, and that's been done to him one too many times." He hesitates before saying what's been really bothering him, "when the truth comes out, he'll hate me too."

Malfoy smiles sadly at him. "What choice was there?" he softly says, more to himself than to Ron. Then he turns away and disapparates.

Damian Desmond from is great because at first glance you’d think he’s another one of those Draco Malfoy trope, especially with the 2 henchmen and taunting upon first meeting the MC(Anya). But then we saw Damian protecting Anya at the dodgeball game, call out the people who said Anya cheated to get her stella, and tried to hold a friendly conversation when Anya is sad that he’s not interested in her dog. Like, this kid’s only 6 yet he’s already more mature and self reflective than a lot of ‘rich brat’ characters and I really like that

Dramione Ongoing War/Death Eater/Order Spy Draco

Obviously, the Order needs him. That much is clear. Having a Death Eater in their pocket to bend to their will. But they could easily make him sleep outside or keep him chained up when he's not working. And yet, they're taking care of him.

Helping him.

And as grateful as Draco is to not be locked away in a dungeon, their kindness is disorienting, furthering his inability to make sense of anything. It's like playing Wizards Chess but being told all the rules have changed, yet as he looks at the board, he can't discern the differences, and when he expects a piece to move a certain way and it does something different, it unsettles him. It feels like he's walking in sinking sand, and everything he's learned to rely on – who he is – shifts beneath his feet as his entire foundation of self disintegrates.

At least when he'd been a Death Eater, he knew his role and how to act. Being told what to do and just fucking doing it.

Like a good little soldier.

"Take a look," he hears Molly say, causing him to return to reality as she hands him a small mirror.

Draco looks at his reflection, and it's like some strange illusion as he doesn't even recognise himself. Not that he looks all that different. In fact, Molly managed to cut his hair, similar to how it was the last time he had a haircut.

Just before he'd been Marked.

Draco continues to study his face, and it's like he's just woken up from some nightmare that stretched over five years - probably longer.

"I don't know who I am," he finally says.
