“Okay Moony, if you’re going to help us win over Y/N, you should know she does not like dramatic public displays of appreciation.” James said sagely as he walked into their shared dorm room.
Remus spared Sirius a confused look from his seat in the chair, but from the way James was currently rubbing his arm Sirius had a pretty good idea of what just took place.
“Yeah, erm, I don’t think you have to worry about that with me, bubs. Thanks for the heads up though.” Remus added bemusedly.
“Let me guess.” Sirius taunted, rolling over onto his stomach so that he faced James. “The charmed roses following her around the halls wasn’t a hit?”
“No, but she did...” He sulked, pulling his uniform shirt off to expose a small albeit quite red welt on his upper arm.
“Awe, poor Jamie. Come here bubs.” Remus cooed at him, opening his arms to invite the boy into his lap.
James obliged all too willingly and snuggled up to the werewolf like he was a small toddler and not a giant beefy man-baby.
“Don’t mollify him when he’s out here botching our grand plans to woo the girl of our dreams.” Sirius said, causing Remus to roll his eyes and James to scoff indignantly.
“Well at least I’m working on it! What are you doing to woo her?” James retaliated.
Sirius offered him a wolfish grin. “Oh, I’ve got a little trick up my sleeve.”

You had to get out of the castle. You could still feel everyone’s eyes on you, ogling you like you were some kind of freakshow.
You don’t know what kind of game those Gryffindor’s were trying to play, but you were not about to be the butt of whatever sodding joke this was.
Roses, really? Charmed to follow you around the castle as Potter smirked from the sidelines. Did he have any idea how humiliating that was?
       So, yeah. You walloped him. In the arm. With your fist. Hard. But what else were you supposed to do!? You’d confronted him and demanded that he end the charm and all he said was ‘you look so cute when your nose scrunches up like that’.
He and Black have always been a bother – seemingly having taken some kind of interest in you for whatever reason. Lupin had always been more reasonable; one would think that he’d have evened those two out during their relationship, but apparently that was an impossible task. You supposed it was because he was all but one man.
But lately, even he was starting to stare at you a little too long, smile a little too softly, find too many excuses to be in your vicinity. It was infuriating.
So, you were outside.
It was nice outside.
Well, it was nice enough outside.
You packed yourself some snacks in your book bag, two blankets and an extra jumper to go sit by the Black Lake. You figured you should be able to enjoy some peace and quiet out here on your own.
You unfolded one of the blankets to lay onto the ground before sitting on it and then laid the second blanket over your lap. You could hear other students on the grounds in the distance and the soothing sound of the water lapping gently against the shore.
As luck would have it, a certain dog with long-black hair would set out to disrupt that.
“What are you doing here?” You asked the dog as it approached you calmly. You wondered for a moment if you should be scared before it stopped at the edge of your blanket to sit and tilt its head at you, his tongue falling out of his mouth haphazardly.
He didn’t look too scary, ignoring his size.
You craned your neck to look around, checking if perhaps he was here with someone, but it appeared that you were, in fact, alone on this side of the lake.
You felt something cold and wet nudge your pinkie, and you turned to see that the dog had laid down beside you with his head between his paws, nose next to your hand.
“If I pet you, are you going to bite me?” You asked him. He answered by nudging your hand again and offering it a little lick.
“You better not have fleas.” You muttered as you scratched behind the dog’s ears. You would have sworn he had furrowed his eyebrows at your comment if dogs could do such a thing. You noticed then that the dog had startling silver-blue eyes.
“Where are your people?” You asked, glad no one was around to see you conversing with a dog. He answered you by rolling over for belly rubs.
You scoffed out a laugh but acquiesced. “Fine, you can stay. But I came out here for peace and quiet, ‘kay?”
The dog seemed fine with that plan and let you read through two chapters of your book, only interrupting every paragraph or so for more pets. Eventually however, it grew too cold, and you decided to pack up.
Confirming your suspicions, the dog began to follow you towards the castle. You pretended like you hadn’t noticed or perhaps just didn’t care until you were near the greenhouses.
“For future reference, Black,” you said, turning to the dog who seemed to pause mid-step as you considered him. “I really am more of a cat person.” You smirked, turning to walk back to the castle alone.
Tumblr media
“Here, let me get that for you.” James said, opening the door for you rather chivalrously in Sirius’ opinion.
“I’m not a delicate flower, Potter, I can open a door.” You muttered angrily, storming past him into the classroom.
James deflated a little as he followed you in, but perked up when Remus placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
“I thought that was very sweet of you, Jamie.” He placated.
James gave him a half smile in response. “Thanks Moons.”
“I mean, what are we supposed to do? What bird doesn’t like dogs!?” Sirius grumbled, opting to ignore James’ whining.
“Don’t call her a bird, Sirius.” Remus chided.
“Probably didn’t help you’re a big ol’ mangy mutt.” James muttered petulantly.
“Oi!” Sirius called. “That’s not what you say when Padfoot snuggles you to sleep.”
James had the good graces to turn a little red at that.
Their conversation was interrupted (quite rudely if you asked Sirius) by Professor McGonagall as she began the instructions for today’s Transfiguration lesson: turning buttons into butterflies.
Sirius stole a concerned glance towards James to see Remus doing the same; they were horrified to see a mischievous look adorning their boyfriend’s face.
“Prongs...” Sirius warned, whilst Remus whispered a “remember what we talked about.”
But they both knew it was too late; there was no stopping him once James set his mind to something.
Sirius is quite sure it was the fourth butterfly that did you in; you seemed to consider the first a fluke, the second was annoying, the third made you suspicious, but by the fourth you’d had enough.
With little to no warning you turned and lobbed a large hard-covered tome at the group.
“I don’t know which of you tossers are behind this, but it reeks of Potter. So help me gods I will gut you and string you up to the rafters from your intestines if you don’t leave me alone!” You screeched.
“But how else will you know I’m crazy about you?” James pouted, causing you to groan exasperatedly.
“If you’re looking for some cutesy princess who will swoon at your sodding roses and butterflies, then you’ve got the wrong witch.” You spat.
Sirius smirked. “Oh, we have exactly the right witch.”
“I swear to Circe if you don’t leave me alone, I’ll sic Barty on you.” You threatened.
Sirius and James both scoffed whilst Remus smirked.
“Please dollface, you insult me. I’m not afraid of Junior.” Sirius taunted.
You narrowed your eyes at him menacingly before realization dawned on you. “Fine.” You said simply, giving Sirius a distinct uneasy feeling. “Perhaps I’ll tell Regulus.”
Sirius slammed his fist on the table and leaned forward. “You wouldn’t.” He seethed.
You smirked deviously. “Just try me, Black.” You sneered in response.
Did...did Sirius have a degradation kink?
Sirius was ashamed to admit that he had to take a very cold shower after that.

You had been sitting in the library trying to work on your Potions essay. You had felt fairly safe here seeing as the Gryffindor’s (at least the most problematic ones) had been sanctioned from using the library during quiet study hours on account of their typical foolishness.
Except one.
“Mind if I sit here?” Lupin’s lilting voice sounded from your right side before he sat down without waiting for your response.
“Why bother asking if you were just going to sit anyways?” You grumbled.
“Well, it was the polite thing to do.” He said, turning to face you. You held his gaze (his gaze, your glare) until he finally sighed. “I’ll leave if you want me to.”
You considered him for a moment. You couldn’t deny he was the least buffoonish out of the so-called Marauders though you’re not sure that amounted to much.
But he was quieter, kinder, softer around the edges. And he had been far more polite to you than his boyfriends.
“Are you going to flirt with me?”
One of Remus’ eyebrows (the one with the scar running through it, you noticed) raised expectantly as he considered you.
“Let me rephrase that.” You barked quickly, realizing your mistake perhaps a touch too late. “You may sit here, but if you flirt with me, I will stab you with my quill.” You punctuated your threat by blotting his hand which rested on the table with ink from the tip of your quill.
Remus smiled at the sight before returning his amber coloured gaze to yours. “Fair enough. I promise to try to restrain myself, but perhaps you ought to hold onto this hand for me just in case I slip up.” And he – the absolute sodding bastard – slid his left hand comfortably into your right.
You’d never seen someone make a move so assertively and smoothly before. There was nothing to say that any of this even affected Remus as he immediately turned his attention to his book. Was it hot in here? Your hand felt sweaty. Your throat felt tight. Your mouth was dry. Why didn’t you think to bring a bottle of water?!
“Erm,” you started, having to pause to clear your throat. “Just how am I supposed to get my work done with your hand in mine, Lupin?”
You had tried to sound threatening, but based off Remus’ smirk, you’d only managed to goad him further.
“You’re left-handed. Figure it out.”
These boys were going to be the death of you if you didn’t end up killing them first.
Tumblr media
“You held her hand!?” James screeched in their dorm room that night whilst Remus smirked to himself. Sirius would make fun of James for his dramatics if he wasn’t just a pissed off about this.
“I’ve been working at this the longest out of either of you, and she lets you hold her hand?” He continued.
“She doesn’t like dogs,” Sirius grumbled, gesturing to himself, “she doesn’t like James. But the werewolf? Really. No offence Moons because I absolutely get the appeal.”
James snapped his fingers as he had a eureka moment. “I’ve got it! Remus; bite me!”
“James!” Remus scolded.
“It’s not fair.” James muttered as he fell onto his bed in defeat. “I’d be so good to her.”
Any ire from Sirius and Remus drained at that as they both moved to join their boyfriend on his bed.
“We know, bubs.” Remus conceded.
“We just...have to give her time. I’m sure she’ll come around, yeah? I mean, with Remus’ smooth moves, my undeniable charm, and your muscles? We’re unstoppable.” Sirius added, eliciting a smile from Remus and a gentle chuckle from James, though his usual light was diminished.
“We’ve just got to be patient, Jamie.” Remus concluded, causing James to groan.
“Patience.” He spat spitefully.
“A 'James ADHD Potter' special.” Sirius winked before kissing any further protests away from James’ lips.
“We’ve got Moony on our team now, bubs. We’re unstoppable.” He whispered, truly believing what he was saying.
If anyone could break through your hard candy-coating shell to reach the chocolate inside, it was certainly Remus Lupin.

You’d had the lovely idea of sitting outside on one of the few sunny days that Scotland got to see this time of year. Unfortunately, it seemed that everyone else had the same idea too.
A few Hufflepuffs were playing with a charmed muggle football, kicking it back and forth between the two of them and chasing after it when it opted to fuck off on its own. You didn’t understand the objective of the game, nor did you care to.
Remus and Peter Pettigrew sat on a bench not too far off playing a game of Wizarding Chess that, from where you were sitting, looked like Remus was winning.
You got so caught up in watching Lupin’s game with Pettigrew - in the way that the tendons in his wrist and hands flexed as he moved pieces across the board, and the way that his honey blonde curls fell in front of his eyes causing him to have to blow air upwards so he could see the board - that you noticed something flying at you far too late.
“Look out!” One of the dumb Hufflepuff’s shouted far too late as their charmed football soared into the side of your head, knocking you clean over where your head cracked painfully against a root of the tree you were sitting under.
You scrunched your eyes tight and tried to will your heart to start beating again and your lungs to cooperate, every part of your body seeming to have tensed out of instinct to protect itself.
“L/N! L/N! Come on, dove, open your eyes.” You heard a voice above you.
Why was the voice so worried? How long were your eyes closed? A gentle hand grabbed your chin and wiggled your head back and forth, causing you to hiss in pain.
“Sod...off.” You gritted through your teeth.
The voice chuckled and wiggled your chin once more. “There she is. Open your eyes for me.”
You hated being told what to do but decided to comply anyways.
You probably should have kept your eyes close because the sight made you feel dizzy for a completely different reason.
Hovering above your frame was Remus Lupin; his knees on the ground beside your elbow, one hand gripping your chin and the other gently moving hair away from your face and head.
“Atta girl.” He said with a smile.
“Get away from me.” You grumbled as you moved to sit up. Though Lupin hissed in protest, he helped you sit up nonetheless.
“Is...is she okay?” a timid voice spoke from somewhere behind Lupin’s shoulder causing his expression to darken considerably.
“You stupid wankers are so dead.” You spat as loudly as you could manage, though in your current state – that wasn’t very loud at all.
Your message was received loud and clear, however, as the two Hufflepuffs took off in fear.
“My sentiments exactly.” Lupin muttered as he turned back to you, jaw still tense.
You snorted indelicately as you brought a hand to your head. “Please, don’t tell me you actually care about me, Lupin.”
You hissed in pain as your hand came in contact with something warm and wet and slightly sticky. You pulled your hand back in front of you to inspect, only for Lupin to grab your hand rather harshly and wipe the blood away with a handkerchief.
“Is it so impossible to believe that we could actually care for you?” He muttered quietly, eyes focused on your hand, pointedly avoiding eye contact with you. You watched as his curls bounced with each wipe of his hand against yours. You thought of his gentle hands brushing hair away from your wound moments before. You thought of him begging you to open your eyes. You thought of him being the first one at your side when you were hurt.
And you thought about Black finding ways to be with you even when you staunchly refused his company. You thought of him taking time out of his day to tell you how ‘smoking hot’ you looked that day, even though he said it every day before that, too.
And you thought about Potter who always held the door for you, saved you a seat even though you never accepted it, showered you in affection even though it was public and quite embarrassing. And you thought of the way he always had a smile to give you, even when you gave him no reason to smile at all.
It wasn’t hard to imagine the three of them caring for anyone, quite frankly. Caring seemed to come second nature to those boys.
“No.” You admitted quietly. “It’s not impossible to believe that you could actually care. It’s just impossible to imagine why.”
He stopped rubbing at your hand and met your eye, seemingly contemplating what to say.
“Let’s get you to Madam Pomfrey.” He opted for. “Pete, let the boys know where I’ve gone when they’re finished with practice?” Lupin called over his shoulder.
“I can walk myself, Lupin.” You grumbled as he helped you up by your elbow.
“Yeah, yeah.” He grumbled back. “You’re not a delicate flower, we know.”
The two of you more or less muttered back and forth to each other the entire way to the infirmary, Lupin supporting more of your weight than he likely needed too but you didn’t feel the need (nor desire) to complain.
Madam Pomfrey was in the middle of looking after a first year Potions class who accidently set off an explosion of incorrectly brewed Cure for Boils which ultimately left each student (and Professor Slughorn) covered head to toe in painful boils.
“Mr. Lupin, if you could clean the wound for me. And Miss. L/N, drink the pain potion. Do not leave until I’ve had a chance to do a proper examination, okay?” She ordered as you positioned yourself more comfortably on the bed after she determined you weren’t about to die (or currently crying, as most of the first years were).
You took the pain potion dutifully and placed it back on the table beside your bed before you startled at the sudden cold wet cloth on your head.
“You are not seriously doing this right now, are you?” You spat.
Remus’ eyebrows drew together as his hands continued on in their task. “You heard the matron; I’m supposed to clean it.”
“I can clean it myself, Lupin; I’ll conjure a mirror.” You argued, causing the scarred boy to scoff.
“I do what I’m told L/N, and quite frankly, the matron scares me more than you do.”
“I must be doing something wrong then.” You sighed, thinking you hadn’t said that loud enough to be heard, but a startled laugh escaped Lupin’s lips.
“Why do you act so volatile?” He asked amusedly.
“It’s not an act.”
“I call bullshit.”
“Well, you call wrong, then, Lupin. I’m an arse and I find everyone exhausting. Deal with it.” You snarked sharply.
Lupin breathed a laugh through his nose. “Maybe we can find out what the hell your problem is over dinner sometime, then.”
Rotten bastard and his smooth talk...
“WHERE IS SHE!?” a voice echoed through the corridor just outside the entrance to the infirmary. Madame Pomfrey needn’t even look up from the boil she was currently draining of puss to know who she was about to scold.
“Mr. Potter, I will have you banned from this infirmary so fast if you raise your voice above so much as a whisper, do not try me. That goes for you too, Mr. Black.” She barked; eyes still focused on the first year’s arm in front of her.
Sure enough, a mop of curly hair, impossibly more wild than usual due to the flight on his broom, poked around the privacy curtains a second before it was joined by a fuming looking Sirius Black.
Potter’s eyes flew to where Remus’ hands were positioned on your head and your stomach lurched at what looked like tears pooling in Potter’s eyes.
“Potter...please, erm, please don’t cry?” You asked awkwardly, leaning away from Remus’ touch as you suddenly became very uncomfortable with this amount of attention.
“She’s alright, Jamie.” Remus sighed, pulling you back over to him gently by the shoulder and continuing his prodding at your wound.
“Who did it?” Sirius spat, arms crossed defensively across his chest and jaw tight as he stared hard at the wound on your head. You were horrified to admit to yourself that he was hot. You’d never really seen it before, how all the girls in your year (and other years) fawned over the long-haired boy.
But he was currently standing in front of you still adorned in his quidditch gear, hair pulled back into a low bun - though he had many fly-aways on account of his recent time in the air - his cheeks still dusted pink from the assertion, and he was currently fuming on your behalf.
Yeah...he was hot.
“Easy.” Remus warned.
“Answer me!” Sirius spat back.
“Pads. I mean it, leave it.” Remus said with finality.
Your eyes darted nervously between the two boys currently staring each other down, but Potter’s eyes were still steadfast on you.
“Let me, Rem.” He finally said gently – the most gently you’d ever heard from the rambunctious boy as he gently moved Remus aside and took over.
“I’m okay, you know.” You offered, not liking how worked up these boys were currently over you.
“I know.” He agreed. “I just hate to see you hurt.”
“Why?”
“Why?”
“Yeah, why.” You pressed. James looked like you just asked him to calculate the distance between the galaxy of Andromeda and our solar system using the measurement of broomsticks.
“I... I don’t want to see you hurt?”
“You want to see Snape hurt.” You countered, causing James’ face to harden.
“Snape’s a tosser.” He muttered darkly.
“I’m not any nicer than Snape.”
“See, Y/N. You’re so smart and lovely and perfect, but you are way off on that front.” James said through a laugh. “Snape is prejudiced, vindictive, and a racist blood supremist. You’re just combative.” He explained, punctuating the word combative with a gentle boop of your nose.
You wanted to break his finger.
But that would be combative, and you would rather die than prove Potter right, so you opted to roll your eyes instead.
“Did they even hang around to see if she fucking survived or did they just take off to avoid detention?” Sirius spat at Remus, not looking any calmer than he did when he arrived.
“They stayed.” You answered tiredly. “They took off afterwards, and not to avoid detention, but to avoid me.”
“And me.” Remus muttered quietly, looking dangerously close to going back out there to find them himself.
“Did you threaten them?” Sirius asked severely, though you weren’t sure who exactly he had asked.
“Yes.” You and Lupin both answered exasperatedly.
Sirius looked between the two of you before letting out a sigh. “Fine, but if I run into them, I’m hexing them into oblivion.”
“Not if I get to them first.” You growled.
Sirius’ face finally softened as he sat on the end of your bed and cautiously touched your ankle under the blankets.
“You sure you’re okay, Y/N?”
And you aren’t sure what did it.
You weren’t sure if it was the softness you saw in Sirius that you were sure you could have never even imagined possible from a person, let alone someone related to the infamous Black family. Or if it was the eyebrows of Remus Lupin that were furrowed in concern as he dutifully watched his boyfriend finish plastering a bandage to your head, or if it was the unbelievable softness of James Potter’s touch – in complete contrast to his fast, rough, bouncing personality that you were usually subjected to.
But dammit, you felt a tear slip down your cheek.
You wiped it away quickly and nodded your head in yes.
You braced yourself for the teasing, the cooing, the dramatic displays of affection. But Sirius quickly stood and disappeared behind the curtains, James began pouring you a glass of water, and Remus reached into his bag for something.
Remus returned to you first, breaking off a square of chocolate for you. “It’ll help.”
You were too embarrassed to argue and took it, popping it into your mouth dutifully.
“Here.” Sirius said as he appeared back at your bedside, handing you a vial.
“What is it?” You asked, your voice taut with emotion.
Sirius’ eyes softened again as he offered you a sad smile. “Calming draught. You can’t have any more pain potion, but this might make you feel better.”
“And if not, maybe you can convince Moony to share more of his chocolate.” James commented with a soft smile.
You grimaced at the taste of the potion and chased it with the water James had poured for you.
“Thank you.” You admitted quietly, shame colouring your tone as you looked to your lap.
“None of that.” Remus said as he handed you another piece of chocolate.
You took it skeptically. “Why do they call you Moony?”
No one said anything for a moment, but you could tell that neither James nor Sirius were moving a muscle as they watched Remus who in turn watched you.
“Because of my lycanthropy.” He said plainly.
You looked at the various scars before you started to laugh. Sirius’ face drained of all colour while James visibly tensed.
“Of course you are. Remus Lupin. Named after a man raised by wolves and the lupus, or wolf constellation. Oh gods, it was predestined, clearly.”
“Are...are you laughing at me right now?” Remus asked incredulously.
“It’s a little funny...no?” You asked back.
He looked as if he were torn between laughing and crying. “I pour my heart out to you – my deepest darkest secret, and you laugh at me?” He asked again, some amusement colouring his features.
“I told you, I’m an arse.” You said with a shrug of your shoulders.
“Does it bother you?” Sirius asked cautiously from the end of your bed, face appearing impassive for all intents and purposes.
“I don’t see why it should, it’s none of my business.”
“It could be.” Remus input.
“You don’t want me. I’m no good, Lupin.” You stressed, looking back down at your hands.
“Neither am I.” Sirius agreed.
“Me neither.” Remus added.
“I’m n-” James started.
“So what if the only one of us worthy of love and affection here is James?” Sirius said, cutting James off. “It’s not going to stop me from cherishing what I can get - deserved or not.”
You groaned and threw your head back onto the pillow, cringing at the effect the fast movement had on you and the pain that the movement elicited in your neck.
“Okay, what about this.” James conciliated. “You don’t have to agree to be with us, just give us a chance? The time of day? One Hogsmeade trip to let us fawn over you.”
You looked up at his deep brown eyes that felt so warm you wanted to make a home in them. Sirius, in all his bravado, looked pained as he waited for an answer, and Remus smiled encouragingly at you.
“Fine!” You acquiesced with a groan. “One Hogsmeade trip.”
Much to your chagrin, though not really at all, it ended up being way more than just one Hogsmeade trip.

hello! I spent a whole day reading your marauder fics and I am obsessed with them and your writing. I was wondering (if you’re still taking requests) if you could write one with poly!marauders with a slytherin!reader where she acts cold and tough with everyone else but turns soft for the boys and they tease her about it but only because they LOVE it.
hope that’s enough! ❤️
Thank you lovely!!
cw: takes place in the infirmary, our poor lovely Jamie is hurt </3
poly!marauders x slytherin!reader ♡ 931 words
“I’m fine.” You stalk down the hallway, batting away the hands of your friends like mosquitos. “I’m fine, it doesn’t even hurt. Sod off.”
The door to the infirmary opens, a familiar head of black hair peeking out. He says your name.
Something in you slackens reflexively. “I’ll meet up with you later,” you tell your pursuers, darting inside.
You find yourself pressed against Sirius’ chest, his hand covering the back of your head protectively. You don’t try to free yourself from the embrace, but you do angle your head on his shoulder, trying to see the bed behind him.
“Is James okay?”
“He is,” comes James’ overly upbeat voice, and you finally get a view of him. He’s sitting upright in bed, his right arm in a sling, looking a bit bedraggled but not much worse for wear. You were terrified he’d be all bloody and broken. Remus sits next to him. His brow is all sewn together, worry flying off him in every direction, and you know he’d be right there with Sirius if his hand weren’t so thoroughly attached to James’ knee. You don’t blame him; you’d only been hit, whereas James had been hit and then fallen thirty feet.
You’d been watching the Slytherin versus Gryffindor quidditch match from the stands when a wayward bludger had flown toward you, catching you in the shoulder and knocking you clean over. You’d been too busy getting your bearings to see what happened next, but reportedly a Slytherin beater (who you will be having some heated words with in the common room later) took advantage of James’ distraction to send another bludger his way. He came completely off his broom, and though Sirius had been quick with a spell to slow his descent, you can’t imagine the impact with the pitch was pleasant.
“Are you okay?” Remus turns your question back around on you.
You nod your head into Sirius’ shoulder, giving him a fierce squeeze around the middle before wriggling out of his grasp.
“You didn’t hit your head?” you ask James, stealing a chair from another bed and sitting beside him. You burrow your fingers into his curls to feel for yourself.
“Nope,” he says, catching your wrist with his uninjured hand and kissing the inside. “I’m good, sweetheart. Just dislocated my shoulder s’all.”
“S’all?” Your voice is incredulous. You feel your face scrunch woefully as you stroke his cheek with your thumb. “Jamie, I’m so sorry.”
His eyebrows fly up. “I don’t see what you’d be apologizing for.”
You grimace, your good shoulder coming up sheepishly. “I distracted you…”
“You didn’t ask to take a crack from a bludger,” Remus says, quiet but stern. His eyes dip to your shoulder, where the cursed thing had struck. “Let’s see it.”
You sigh and pull down the sleeve of your jumper. You hadn’t been expecting it to bruise yet, but the red mark is already starting to darken around the edges. James hisses through his teeth as Sirius rounds you, crouching beside your chair to get a better look.
“Shit,” he says, frowning as he touches the mark gingerly with the tip of his thumb, “are you sure you haven’t knocked your shoulder out too?”
“I don’t think so,” you say, somewhat quietly. Being at the center of your boyfriends’ combined concern is a disaster for your nerves; it makes you as timid as a first year.
James pouts at you, taking the hand closest to him and pressing a wet smooch to your palm.
“I heard you sniping at your friends in the hallway,” Sirius says. “You can’t tell me that doesn’t hurt, doll.”
You look at him through your lashes, sheepish. “It does,” you admit.
He and James coo, and you roll your eyes, turning away from them both.
Remus’ eyebrows pull up in the middle, his gaze gentle on yours. It softens you considerably. “Think you ought to have it looked at?” he asks.
“Yeah,” James says brightly, “we could match.”
Remus’ frown deepens at the reminder, his hand rubbing sympathetically at James’ knee.
“Thanks, but I’m okay.” You give James a weary smile, but his eyes narrow behind his glasses.
“You want something,” he says.
You blink. “No, I don’t.”
He studies you a second longer, then nods. “Yeah you do,” he decides. “Out with it.”
You blow out a breath, rolling your eyes, but he waits. You can’t quite look at any of them as you say, “I just sort of want a hug.”
“Aww,” Sirius croons, all but pushing himself into you as he engulfs you in his arms. “The ice queen melts at last, huh?”
“Don’t tell anyone,” you mumble wryly, and James laughs, giving your fingers a loving squeeze. “Anyway, I’m not the one who wound up in the infirmary.”
Only because Jamie’s smart enough to go.” Remus gives you a meaningful look, but there’s enough softness in it to let you know he’s not really cross with you. Still, you muffle your apology into Sirius’ shoulder.
He holds you tighter. Digs his fingertips greedily into the material of your jumper.
“Don’t hurt her shoulder,” James says fretfully.
“I’m not,” Sirius replies, but he loosens his grip a bit. “I’m not, right?” You hum your agreement, and he’s pressing in on you again, biceps flexing. “You’re our lovebug,” he tells you, teasing undercut by an uncharacteristic firmness. “You know you don’t have to be tough around us, yeah?”
You grasp the tops of his shoulders in response, an affection so huge it pains you rising in your throat. “Yeah,” you say.

me and you... were meant to be.
[remus lupin x f!reader] [platonic james potter x f!reader]
slytherin!reader (because i myself am one). use of (y/n) (though i tried my best to not overuse it)
angst, but happy ending. remus' insecurities get in the way of your fresh relationship. 3k words.
i haven't written for remus for a long, long time so i tried to do my best because i love him to pieces and recently i've been experiencing a remus lupin era so... here it is. also, that spell she uses to protect her home... i've no idea if it exists, i just liked it.
english is not my first language, so there could be some mistakes. pictures are not mine.
thank you for reading!
i wrote this while listening to "Don't Delete the Kisses" by Wolf Alice and "What if I Love You" by Gatlin.
Tumblr media
“What if you and I… What if we were never meant to be?”
“What are you saying, Remus?”
“I'm saying that I don't think we… I don't think it’s good for us to keep seeing each other.”
“But, but why? We are so good right now, we… I’m trying here, Remus, but I don't get it. Why would you do this?”
“I've just told you, we are not meant for each other. You… you des…” He stopped mid sentence. “I don't see you like that anymore, I'm sorry if I made you think otherwise.”
Now, on top of a bus that would drop her off a couple of blocks from her flat, she couldn’t recall a single moment in their short relationship that could’ve propelled something like this. They were good, really good. After dancing around each other for so long during their Hogwarts years, they had finally admitted their feelings one summer afternoon while looking at the sun go down and the moon rise up. Four months later, he was ending it. Salazar, could he have been high? She knew sometimes the boys would smoke those muggle herbs Marlene would bring them, overcharging them of course, but he had never said something so… heartbreaking under their influence. No, he couldn’t have been high, he would become even touchier when he’d smoke some, ignoring his friend’s presence and delighting in the passionate, even primal, effect they’d produce; the lightheaded feeling that allowed him to relax and run his fingers through her arms, her hands, her neck and jaw…
She pressed the palm of her hands against her eyes when they started to water for the fifth time that evening after leaving Dorcas’ apartment complex. Was he so desperate to get rid of her that he couldn’t even wait to do it at home? What would her great-grandmother think of her if she saw her like this? “Crying over a half-blood, a HALF-BREED, you are nothing but a blood traitor. You’ve tainted our legacy, you and your good-for-nothing parents, you are no more worthy than those mudbloods you hang round, affiliating yourself with muggles, living a life surrounded by them." Why did she keep caring about what she would think? She had never shared her views on blood purity and how any wizard or witch that wasn’t part of the Sacred Families would be undeserving of its magic. She hated people like her grandmother. She hated that the old hag had tried to drill these thoughts into her head since a very young age. She was glad she had died and she was glad her parents were nothing like their parents, so why was she remembering her now? Perhaps it was the fear of losing her entire friend group that made her sick mind resort to conjuring the old witch’s voice in her head.
She truly hoped for her great grandmother to be rolling in her grave at the sight of one of her descendants crying over a werewolf and the possibility of losing her entire friend group made up of blood traitors, half-bloods, and muggleborns.
She knew they weren’t like that, that they wouldn’t isolate her for something like this. Merlin, they didn’t even know, at least until tonight, of their relationship! Though she was sure it wouldn’t take long for them to figure it out after how she had left in such an abrupt manner, without saying goodbye and barely making it to the door without the tears falling down her cheeks. She had left the task of explaining everything to Remus.
“Lady, this is the last stop!” The bus driver called out from the front of the vehicle.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Fuck Remus Lupin for breaking her heart, for making her cry and making her miss her bus stop. Fuck him for making her feel so in love she left her guard down, fuck him for assuring her that he could trust him.
Although she had planned to take the muggle bus to get her mind off things and not get home immediately — for she was sure her lonely flat would make her feel worse, for she was sure there was one of Remus’ sweater idle placed on the back of an armchair she was hoping to return tonight after he’d accompanied her home —, she had not anticipated missing her stop and having to walk ten or so blocks home. It was not that she felt unsafe wandering through London this late, but she just felt emotionally exhausted.
She almost jogged all the way home, not wanting to encounter any trouble on her way home for she was not in the right state of mind for fighting anyone, muggle or not. Though, perhaps, the rush of adrenaline that would come from a brawl would bring her back to life, a little at least.
She’d taken two steps into the hallway when she saw the light coming from her flat. Stopping on her tracks, she got her wand out of her leather holster strapped in her left shoulder and approached her door. Good thing she had opted to climb the stairs instead of apparating inside; if she were to be ambushed, she wouldn’t have had any time to prepare.
With the whisper of an incantation the door opened slowly. For a moment, she forgot about Remus and the only thing on her mind was to find out who was inside her home. Her mind was reeling with ideas. Death eaters.
Death eaters. Death eaters. Death eaters.
But how? She had secured the place with some, if not all, of the best protective spells. Dorcas had helped her set them up. The locks were unbreachable, as well as the magical barriers protecting the walls from all sides, there were only two people that could apparate inside, her and…
“Prongs?”
She had chosen James as the only other person to be able to apparate inside her home. The spell was infallible and it had taken them several months of hard work, but it was worth it since not even someone who had induced the polyjuice potion, impersonating James, could get in.
She saw him pacing round her living room, his fingers twirling his wand in the air, a trick she had seen muggle musicians do when playing the drums. He stopped once he saw her, quickly coming to wrap one arm around her frame while the other pushed the door closed. The hiss of the invisible sigils increased for a second.
“I thought something had happened to you on the way home, you took so long. Why did you take so long? I was worried sick.”
“Merlin, James, the baby is making you act just like your mother.”
“Shut up, I was genuinely worried. Was about to go searching for you.”
“I took the bus but missed my stop, so I had to walk.”
He nodded, relaxing a bit now that he saw his best friend was okay. Physically, at least. Her emotions were still all over the place, her heart had calmed down and decided to break again after realising there were no intruders in her home.
“What happened back then, dove? With Remus? You, you just run away.”
“I think you know what happened, James.” She said, while hanging her coat in the rack and taking out her boots. She knew he knew, he wouldn’t have left Dorcas’ flat without an explanation from Remus after seeing her so distressed.
James sighed. Even though her own feelings were messed up, she could still realise this was a difficult position for James, and the rest of them, to be in. (Y/N) and James had been friends since they were young, younger than now at least, knowing each other because their parents introduced them the summer before beginning their third year at Hogwarts. She was a Slytherin thus making it hard for the boy to trust her, even at that age, but one stern look from his mother Euphemia had the boy overcoming his prejudice against her in a heartbeat. It had been quite impossible to separate them since then, which meant introducing her to the rest of his friends. Sirius had been apprehensive, Peter quite terrified… Remus… Remus had been intrigued, you could say. All of his previous interactions with Slytherins hadn’t been pleasing, but this was the girl he had Transfiguration with, who would raise her hand faster than anyone and answer correctly, getting all the spells right on her first try. This was the girl he had glanced at maybe once — he definitely did more than glance — at the library, carrying way too many books for her on one hand while the other, holding her wand, pointed to the floating pile of heavier tomes behind her.
Remus is also one of his best friends, the four of them are like brothers. She couldn’t deny she was quite surprised to see James here, attempting to comfort her instead of him.
He still had his arm around her shoulders when they started to walk towards the kitchen. If James intended to stay then she was in dire need of some tea to pass the bad taste the fight had left in her mouth. He would want to hear her side of the story. Turning to light up the room, she saw pints of red covering James’ knuckles. She disengaged from his hug, positioning her body in front of his then grabbed his hand, harshly. She heard him wince. His eyes scrunched and his lips closed in a thin line, she knew. He knew that she knew.
“Did any of his teeth fall out?” She pressed her fingers to his bloodied knuckles.
“No, but… Ow! Would you stop that?” He tried to release his hand from his grasp, she tightened her hold.
“I don’t need you defending me, James.”
“You’re my best friend, of course I’ll…”
“He’s your best friend too!” She yelled. Salazar, she was pathetic. Defending the boy who crushed her heart no more than two hours ago. “I don’t want you fighting my battles for me, James, especially when it’s against one of your friends.”
“I’m sorry, dove, you are like a sister to me. I couldn’t help it.”
“It’s not like he did anything wrong though. He… he is allowed to change his mind. I - I was the one to get too caught up. I shouldn’t have, I shouldn’t have…”
“I didn’t punch him because he ‘changed his mind’, dove. I punched him because he was lying about that.”
“James…”
“No, no, listen. Listen to me.” He grabbed her face, wiping the new set of tears that had begun to cascade down her face. “I know Remus and I know that he loves you, that he’s loved you since you jinxed one of the fourth years after bad mouthing Peter, perhaps even before that. He’s not telling the truth and he’s pushing you away because he’s terrified of how much he loves you. That’s why I hit him, thought it’d make him realise he cannot lose you.”
“Salazar, you really are your mother.” James laughs at your comment, heart soaring with desperation at the new turn of events. He knew something more was going on with Remus and (Y/N) as of the last couple of months because James Potter was observant and this new bond didn’t look like the shy glances they’d throw from across the Hall during their Hogwarts’ years. These were slow, delicate touches; soft smiles and bodies that would look to be close to each other every chance they got. So he wanted nothing more than for his friends to be happy; although he should’ve seen Remus’ self-sabotaging tendencies coming because he knew all of his friends like the back of his hand, he didn’t. He blamed the uprising war for that. He blamed it for everything, from clouding Remus’ judgement more than ever to forcing him and Lily, and consequently the rest of the Order, to be constantly on the lookout for danger. None of them had had a good night’s sleep for months now.
“You should still apologise, you’ve been friends for years and I…”
Rapid, loud knocks against her front door interrupted (Y/N). She and James looked at each other, he had a hunch of who it might be but getting his wand at the ready didn’t hurt. (Y/N) had the same idea, she started to move towards the entrance with her arm up, wand always pointing at the door.
“Who is it?” The banging stopped.
“It’s … It’s me, Rem - Remus. I - I.” She could hear him shuffling outside, as if he were moving round the place, jumping from one foot to another; he probably was. “It's really me, I - I got you that black leather holster for your wand as a gift. You bought the rug on your bedroom floor in a flea market last month, you said it reminded you of the one you had back home. Your favourite colour is red and you hated yourself for it because James always joked how you should’ve been in…”
“Gryffindor.” By the time Remus had been at the end of his ranting, she had unlocked the door and opened it all the way, hitting the rag on the way.
“Yeah, but green always looked better on you.” Remus looked at her face, he could see the trail of black makeup going from her eyes to her chin. She must’ve felt his stare because in a swift movement she got rid of the marks, or at least she tried to. It smudged a bit more than he knew she would’ve preferred.
“You’ve got blood on your face.” She said.
“I know, I - I tripped down the…” Remus tried to explain while cleaning the blood with the back of his sweater. She could’ve told him she’ll clean it up for him with the touch of a finger. She didn’t.
“You don’t have to cover for him, I know James punched you.”
“Damn right I did.” She heard from inside the flat. James was leaning against the arch that separated the living room from the kitchen, arms crossed over his chest and a look that must’ve frightened Remus because of how he bent his head down and then looked up again, nodding as to show he’d understood his lesson. (Y/N) stared at James with an eyebrow raised, he sighed and then said: “I’m going to get Lily back at Dorcas’. See you, dove.” With a crack in the air, James disappeared.
“What I said, earlier, it - it wasn’t true.” Remus began once they had settled on her velvet green sofa. She had found it on the street, a bit tattered but nothing magic couldn’t repair. “I’m an idiot but I’m just so scared. So frightened that.. that what I - what I am will put a higher target behind your back. I’m a half-breed, a monster, and people like me … No, no let me finish. People like me don’t deserve someone as pure as you so I thought…”
“You thought pushing me away, breaking my heart, would solve any of that?”
“Well, yes! If I’m not putting you in danger during the full moon, then I’m putting you in danger because they - they won’t hesitate to come after you if you are with me.”
“You bloody git. They are after all of us, even if we aren’t together, they’ll still come after me…”
“You don’t know that.”
“What are you saying, Remus? I’m a blood traitor in their eyes, my best friend is a muggleborn. My own great-grandmother would put me on the ground if she could see me right now so don’t try to make me understand you with this bullshit. You may be scared of love, of loving me, but I’m not. I love you and I’ve loved you for so long that I’m not going to give you up, not at times like this. I don’t care that you’re a werewolf, I’ve never cared. And I get that it’s hard for you, that you feel guilty when we try to alleviate your pain, but I’m fucking exhausted that you think I won’t be able to handle it, to handle you and your transformations.” She inched her face closer to his, a hand moving up to cradle his jaw while the other grabbed his hand. “I chose to be with you, knowing full well that it wouldn’t be easy and not because you’re a werewolf but because you are an insufferable arsehole who doesn’t let people in, who is afraid of hurting others while not realising that he’s still hurting them when he pushes them away.”
He didn’t respond, he just leaned further on the touch of her hand. It grounded him. How was he able to think, even for a second, that he would survive without her light-feathered touch, without her hands running through his hair or his arms that would give him goosebumps?
“I thought that you had grown tired of me or that you had never loved me the way I loved you. That you’d thought I wasn’t loyal to the Order, that somehow I would…”
“No, no, no. I’d never, (Y/N), truly, I’d never. I got lost, I- I thought someday you would realise how you had ruined your life by spending it alongside… me. You could do so much better, and yet…”
“I’m sure there are men out there, wizards or not, that are less frightened at the idea of love than you are, Remus. But they’re surely not you, because they’re not as funny, or smart, or witty, or sensible, or great as you. I’d probably get bored of them within the hour and then I’d be lost because you wouldn’t be beside me. The only man I want is you. No one else. You drill that into your head or next time you try to pull a stunt like this I’ll kill you.”
“Got it.” He whispered before leaning in even closer, his lips barely brushing hers. He wanted to be sure she was okay with this; he wanted to be absolutely sure he hadn’t completely messed up their relationship but for that he needed her to confirm it; to accept his apology. She did, sealing their lips desperately, trying to transmit everything she had just said but with a kiss. She had been so terrified that the only way to have him in her life would be through meetings to discuss missions and war plans; that she would never get to touch him, to kiss him, to hold him after a rough full moon again. “You wouldn’t actually kill me, right?”
“No, but I would tell James to punch ten times harder.”
“Please don’t, he’s got a sick hook.”
“Then you better behave.”
She kissed him again, deeper this time. Their lips moved synchronised, familiar with each other; her hands travelled all the way up to his hair while his circled around her waist, bringing her closer. Chest against chest, with her legs propped up into his lap, they stayed like that for a long time before Remus laid her down on the sofa.

Dunno if you're still taking requests regarding the slytherin boys, but I'll try my luck soo I was thinking like maybe something about spending time with Enzo in one of the dorms while all the other slytherins are out in hogsmeade or whatever and just cuddling and all that sappy stuff??
In case you do write it, thank you so much <3
Tumblr media
pairing; lorenzo berkshire x fem!slytherin!reader
tags; established relationship, disgusting sappy toothache inducing fluff, very much calm!boyfriend x dramatic!girlfriend trope, shitty writing (sorry!)
The dorm is blissfully quiet; your rowdy bunch of friends have taken a day trip to Hogsmeade and Enzo has essentially glued himself to you, coaxing you to the common room to spend the day together.
And, well, you’re not going to complain. An entire uninterrupted day with your favourite boy in the world? How could you possibly object to that?
You sigh exaggeratedly and roll on the bed where you're sprawled next to him, pushing your lips out into a pout and blinking owlishly in that wide-eyed way you tend to when you want something; Enzo has always been particularly fond of your flair for the dramatic. His smile is soft in comparison, half-moon dimples pushing out of his perfect cheeks as he mimics your movements and comes to a stop mere inches from your face.
"What is it, my lover," he drawls in an awful attempt at some sort of Southern cowboy accent, a crooked finger tickling underneath your chin as though you're a cat. You seem to approve regardless.
"It's just not acceptable, Enzo!" you whine, throwing yourself onto your back in a mess of limbs and hair. He tilts his head, eyebrows raised and awaiting the continuation of your theatrical outburst. "We are not nearly close enough together. Look how much room there is between us!" You gesture wildly to the two inch gap separating you and him and feign distress, a hand clutched to your chest in faux shock.
"Come here then, sweet girl," he coos, hands reaching out to tug you up and into his arms. You settle between his thighs, chin propped against his chest as he gazes at you, tucking flyaways behind your ears when you wrap your arms around him. You scrunch your nose as he grazes it with the tip of his thumb devotedly and laughs.
"I love you." His fingers trail the expanse of your face; every crease and crevice, each bump and ridge and slope. He leaves nowhere without his gentle touch, his reverent worship.
You soften and rest your cheek against his warm shoulder, arms coming up to hook around his neck. You never feel like you're quite close enough with him, always wanting more, wanting to burrow inside of his very soul; everywhere you go, you always hunger after his touch- fingers interlinked, knees brushing chastely, a modest peck before you ever part from his company.
"I love you more," you murmur, promptly serious at his declaration. Your face gravitates towards him almost unconsciously and you're slotting your lips between his for a kiss. Once, twice, and then a long, lingering one before you rest your forehead against his, noses brushing.
"Don't ever leave me," you say suddenly. "I've never loved anyone like this."
This time he's the one to break the tension, squeezing you so tight you wheeze and pressing open mouthed kisses to every inch of skin he can reach. They're half-moon shaped, just like his dimples.
"Never," he mumbles into your skin, pulling the duvet over you as you snuggle further into his warmth. Your eyes are heavy.
By the time the rest of the group return from their outing, you're both sound asleep, wrapped in each other's arms. Enzo snores quietly and you're completely still, calm and content. It's the quietest your friends have ever seen you.
Enzo's your person. And your person calms the racing thoughts that spin in your mind. He allows you to relax in the cocoon of safety he's formed around you.
Pansy forces them all out of the dorm to let the pair of you sleep, and for that you are grateful.

slytherin sweetheart. / s. black
sirius black x fem!malfoy!reader
5.7k words
summary — james and sirius see if sirius can break the slytherin ice queen’s shell for a prank – but it leads to much more.
authors note & warnings — borderline inspired by 10 things i hate about you, shit proofreading, underage drinking, forms of child neglect and abuse, lmk anything else!
(y/n) malfoy was an ice queen, a rich and powerful pureblood princess, older twin sister of lucius malfoy. because of that fact, the marauders, particularly james potter and sirius black thought to see whether sirius “the flirt” black could get her to swoon, to get you to swoon.
you walked through the halls, a permanent glare and wicked smile duo on your face as you walked in line with your brother. other slytherins walked behind you two, following like dogs behind the malfoy twins. building up to 6th year, your brother had built up a rather cruel reputation, and you always beside him, lumped you into said reputation. first and second years cowered at the sight of the two of you. and you also seemed to be a target of numerous pranks orchestrated by four gryffindors in your year.
those four gryffindors were now sneering at the gaggle of slytherins walking into the dining hall, including you and your brother.
“we gotta do something about them.” sirius starts, “all of our pranks don't seem to affect them.”
james forms a wicked grin as a practically visible lightbulb lights over his head. “make her swoon.”
“huh?” is all that stutters out of sirius’s open mouth, “how am i ‘sposed to do that if she hates us?” sirius stares at the bespeckled boy, stating the obvious.
“stop your other dalliances,” earning a scoff from remus, “and focus only on (y/n),” james explains.
“it’ll annoy the shit outta malicious,” james’s nickname for lucius, “and then just leave.”
a twinning grin makes its way to sirius’s face as peter shrinks into himself and remus sighs in disapproval, but when have they ever listened to him?
you practically hear hisses from your table right before feeling a body slide in next to yours on the bench. you turn your head, tossing your hair over your shoulder to find the outcasted black sitting beside you. you raise a single brow at him, a small scowl on your face.
“hey there, sweetheart.” you could feel lucius’ glare from across the table.
“don’t sweetheart me, black.” you respond, taking a sip of water from your goblet.
“what are you doing here?” lucius’ cruel voice spits at the raven-haired boy.
“just trying to get to know your sister here, malicious.” you have to stifle the laugh creeping up from your chest at the nickname. your brother turns to glare at you as sirius’ lips quirk up at your show of humanity.
“pick you up friday then?” sirius quips.
‘yeah, sure black.” you respond, voice dripping with sarcasm.
“i’ll be in the common room.” you say to your brother as you get up, fixing your already shortened skirt and leaving your half finished plate on the grand table as you walk past the curly haired boy, your walk as poised as ever. sirius leaves the slytherin table to prance back to his own, “phase one is in action.”
the next few days sirius smiles at you in your shared classes, offers to help you in potions (though you’re the one who ends up helping him), even offering to walk you to your classes and carry your books, all leading up to friday.
you do not know why he seems to like you all of a sudden, but it is nice to be liked.
friday arrives, classes are over, accompanied by all of sirius’ courting gestures. you’re getting ready with your dormmates, narcissa, who your brother has taken quite a liking to, and bellatrix, to go to a ravenclaw house party, and while it is a house party, plenty of ravenclaws had invited 90 percent of the 5th, 6th and 7th year students, so it was practically come one, come all. you had been putting on the finishing touches, some blood red dangly earrings and a matching necklace. adorned in those jewels and a black mini dress and black heels you headed down to the common room. a knock on the door interrupted the mingling in the slytherin common room, an unusual sound in the dungeons. narcissa moves to open the stone door, surprise coloring her face as she sees the rejected black. you climb the few steps to see what she's gaping at to see the same sight.
sirius black in a black button up, the top few buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up. at the sight of you his eyes widen slightly before meeting your gaze.
“friday right?”
you gape at him, your dark red lipstick outlining your shock. you cast a glance back at narcissa, who has a teasing look in her eyes, not bothering to look at bella who has a fuming glare at her cousin. you sigh and push black back from the door before following him out, allowing narcissa to close the door behind you, she’ll join you at the party.
“what is this?” you whisper yell at him, though, you're not even near angry, maybe more embarrassment, if that.
“told you i’d pick you up didn't i?” he sallies back at you. you roll your eyes at him before heading out of the dungeons and to ravenclaw tower. sirius follows behind you like a dutiful puppy before catching up to your poised stride.
“you’re lucky it wasn't lucius opening that door, black.” you spare a glance at him as you go through the maze of moving staircases to ravenclaw tower.
“oh what's malicious gonna do?” you let your laugh ring out this time, a heavenly sound to the boy beside you.
“you really shouldn’t call him that,” you glance over at him again, “even if it's true.”
you don't know what's come over you, your hardened, preserved, ‘ice-cold’ heart is being chipped away at by the boy beside you, why are you walking with him? laughing at his jokes about your brother?
you don't see the wondrous gaze sirius gives you when you look forward again, this time at the front of the ravenclaw door. sirius bares you the burden of knocking on the door as he does it himself. you can smell the firewhiskey breath of the boy who opens the door, ushering you and sirius in, eyes following hogwarts’ ‘ice-queen’ who’s arrived with sirius ‘the flirt’ black.
the sconces and candles lighting the common room have been enchanted to flare blue and purple. drinks cover the tables and drunk bodies grind together in the center of the room.
“well, you picked me up and escorted me to the party, black. that’s more than most men get, i'll see you later.” you leave him, slightly disappointed, with a little wave of your fingers as you take a shot from the table and glide yourself into the sea of bodies.
the party carries on, narcissa and bellatrix arrive. narcissa makes her way to you, no doubt to question what sirius black was doing at the slytherin dungeons, and bellatrix follows her, casting a glare towards sirius.
andromeda, the only black relative who had not hated sirius arrives as well, on the arm of ted tonks, a muggleborn hufflepuff, to sirius’s knowledge. she makes her way to sirius, a curious quirk of her lips clues him in to how this conversation will go.
“so.. provoking even more pureblood families then your own, then, sirius?” she asks in a teasing tone. he scoffs out a laugh.
“‘spose so..” he trails off, his eyes finding your figure as you dance with narcissa, a begrudging bellatrix standing close to the two of you, clearly not wanting to be near any non-purebloods.
“i hope you know what that’ll do to her.” andromeda says to him before walking off with ted on her arm, leaving a disoriented sirius reeling over his older cousin’s words. he feels a strong pat on his back, sending him jolting forward for a minute before turning to see james and remus.
“so how’s the situation with miss ice queen coming along?” james asks, a grin on his lips.
“oh— uh good.. good.” sirius responds, shaking himself out of the trance that andromeda’s comment had him in. remus lifts an eyebrow at him subtly but james steers the two over to the drink table before remus can say anything.
eventually, james gets drunk enough to saunter his way over to lily evans to try and win her heart as he has tried since 1st year.
remus and sirius move to a back wall, but sirius still has a view of you, still only one shot in, still having a grand time with narcissa.
the two boys are silent for a long while and sirius’s eyes find you again, his gaze is sweet, his mind as far from the ‘prank’ this was supposed to be.
“you like her.” remus states, snapping sirius out of his adoring trance.
“what?” sirius implores, whipping his head, curls slapping his face as he turns to look at the lanky boy.
“have you thought about what you might do to her if you just leave her, as james said?” he questions the ravenette.
“w.. well no..” sirius sputters.
“if she does fall for you and you leave her, you will break her heart.” he starts, “lucius knows you're courting her, which he will be able to tell that she has been heartbroken and likely tell his parents. do you understand that?” remus pushes.
sirius stays silent, he doesn't know what to say, or what he's even thinking.
“think about that.” remus states before giving sirius a pat on the shoulder before going to join marlene and mary at the drinks table.
sirius leaves the party early after that, and your eyes watch as he goes.
over the next few days, you and sirius grow closer, opting to sit with him in potions when he offers over your brother. which causes lucius to corner you afterwards, since it is the last lecture of the day. sirius casts you a glance before walking on with his mates.
“what is going on between you two?” his voice has no concern, only barely concealed rage in his hushed tone.
“n..nothing lucius, nothing.” he raises a brow at you, “i'm just having a bit of fun with him..”
“it better be that.” is all he says before he stormed off, a threat unspoken.
your face scrunches in his direction, he had always been on your side, or was it rather you had never deviated from his?
you pulled yourself together swiftly before heading to the dungeons to drop off your stuff. you pick back up only your potions things, stuffing them into a black messenger bag before heading to the black lake where you were supposed to meet sirius to study.
you stride over to where a mess of inky curls sits, a few feet from the lake. you plop your bag down before taking off your cloak, placing it down before sitting on top of it.
“so.. what did your brother want?” sirius asks.
not malicious? you thought.
“oh, nothing..” you say, an uncertain undertone in your voice, sirius picks up on it but doesn't pry. “let’s start with amortentia.”
sirius quirks his brow at you, to which you smile and scoff, “it's the first alphabetically, black.”
you both flip to the page in your potion books but sirius lays his on the ground and looks at you, as you are supposed to be testing him. “what are the ingredients to brew amortentia?”
he thinks for a minute, his eyes on the ground, before meeting your gaze again. “ashwinder eggs, rose thorns, powdered moonstone, peppermint, and pearl dust.” he recites them properly, causing a wistful smile to make its way to your face, “and what are the possible substitutions?”
“refined peppermint oil for peppermint, and mother of pearl for pearl dust,” he answers. a grin breaks out on your face that time, a sight sirius relishes in. you smack his arm lightly, “you know this stuff, black! why are you so clueless in potions?” you question him.
“well how can i focus with you next to me, sweetheart?” he asks as he breaks your gaze to look at the lake, he doesn't see the way you try to contain your smile or the way your cheeks flush. all he hears is your scoff.
you close your potions book and set it on the grass next to you.
“so why ask me to help you study, if i distract you so much?” you tease him, and it gets his heart fluttering.
“well you're hard to get alone, (y/n).”
your lips quirk upwards as he looks back to you.
“james keeps saying how he’ll beat you into the dirt during the quidditch game this saturday, he’s even planned a party for his undetermined victory.” sirius voices.
“undetermined? so you do have some faith in me, sirius.” god, the way his name sounded from your lips.
“if we do win, you’ll come to the party?” he asks, no, pleads.
“so james can rub his win in my face, captain to captain?” you quip.
“for me.” he replies, rousing you to silence, the soft, pleading tone in his voice making your cheeks flush once again.
“I'll come.” you respond, sirius’s eyes widening slightly before a grin breaks out on his face. he then hears james and remus calling him from across the green and swiftly packs up his things and gets up.
“i’ll see you later, sweetheart.” he says before dipping down briefly to kiss your cheek and runs off to his mates, leaving you a flustered mess in peace.
saturday came quick enough, and as the captain of the slytherin team, you bring your all, however when you hear sirius call your name you look up to see a bludger coming for you. thrown off, it hits the front of your broom, missing your body completely but snapping the front of your broom off and spinning it to the ground. you end up a little disheveled, but nothing broken. the game is called off since you have no stand-ins and gryffindor wins with the points they have.
after the game you keep true to your promise to sirius and shower, getting ready for the gryffindor celebratory party. bellatrix eyes you from her bed, fury behind her dark eyes. narcissa and andromeda help you get ready, however, curling your hair for you and getting your jewelry out. you decide on a dark red long sleeve dress, fitting your body perfectly. black heeled boots and a black headband, along with your blood red earrings and necklace complete your look. you kiss andromeda and narcissa on the cheek, leaving lip prints on each of their faces before heading to gryffindor tower.
you knock on the edge of the painting, careful not to mess with the fat lady, she ushers out a ‘thank you, dear’ before a younger boy, probably a 4th year, opens the door.
“what do you want, snake?” you're thrown off by the comment, used to people being afraid to look in your direction, since when have you become soft enough for others to notice?
sirius shoves past the boy, knocking him into the wall as he grins down at you, you give him a small smile in return, “you came.”
“promised i would.” you respond as he offers his hand and you take it. he admires the red dress that adorns your figure.
“suitable dress for the house who won,” james saunters around the corner, already tipsy, “only by default.” you quip back at him, he’s definitely less hostile to you now, but whether that's from sirius’s attention or the alcohol, you couldn't say.
when you enter the common room, it's filled with boisterous laughter and celebration, and you can appreciate their enthusiasm. you find the drink table, mainly firewhiskey, a preferred favorite of the gryffindor house. you toss back a few shots, scalding your throat, hopefully to relieve some of the pain from your fall earlier. sirius looks at you with concern.
“i can have fun, black.” you shoot at him and he laughs, “of course, babe.”
your cheeks heat at the nickname, or the alcohol, but you feel your vision haze slightly already. a few more drinks in and you're dancing on the coffee table in front of the fire. gryffindors around you are cheering you on but sirius had lost you in the crowd, he looks for marlene, finding her back by the stairs with dorcas.
“you seen (y/n)?” he asks over the thunder of the crowd, she only points at you and his eyes widen, making her and dorcas laugh. He pushes through the sea of people to get to the edge of the coffee table.
as soon as he does he sees and hears you hit your head on the chandelier floating above you, it throws your drunk body off balance and you stumble until you fall right into him. thankfully, he’s nowhere near as drunk as you are and braces for impact before lifting you off the table and away from the crowd as they continue to carouse.
he sits you on the, thankfully, empty stairs, and marlene and dorcas leave you two be. you cradle your throbbing head in your hand as sirius pushes back the curled strands of your hair falling in your face.
“you need to see madame pomfrey,” he states as you wince as he tries to examine the bump, thankfully no blood.
“no, i’m.. i’m fine.” you falter, your head falling forward slightly but he holds it up.
“stay awake, (y/n).” you only hum in response. he helps you off the stairs, holding you up against his body.
“marlene bring some water to the boys dorms, please.” he shouts over the crowd but sees marlene nod at him and give a thumbs up. he ushers you up to the marauders dorm, placing you gently on his bed, making sure you’re sitting up right. you slouch over into him, your forehead against his chest as he examines the bump on your head more thoroughly. it doesn't look terrible but you did hit it pretty hard. he crouches down to be level with you, your eyes are closed and your jaw is slack, he slaps your face gently.
“hey, hey, (y/n), no, wake up. (y/n), open your eyes!” your eyes flutter open at his voice and you gaze up into his stormy ones. “hey… your eyes have a little blue in them..”
he laughs at your drunk mumble, “right you are, sweetheart.”
marlene comes in with two big glasses of water, placing them on the nightstand beside you and gazing over to you, “feel better, sweetie,” she says before leaving the two of you and closing the door.
you break your gaze to look over at the water on the nightstand and sirius catches your line of sight, grabbing the water and handing it to you. you take generous gulps before taking a breath of air, “water’s good.”
“yeah?” sirius asks you, tucking stray hairs behind your ear. his curiosity can't help but take over him, “why are you so.. closed off?” he utters the words before he can stop his lips.
you explain to him how your parents had conditioned you in the ways of a pureblood wife, silent, poised, cold. How they’d locked you in a closet if you’d talked back. How they conditioned you not to cry.
He knew exactly how you grew up, he grew up the same.
His hand moved from your hair to cradle your cheek. You glanced up at him, seeing the look of understanding and you understood too.
“what a duo we are..” you mumble
“indeed.” he responds.
“i promise i'm here for you..” you mutter.
a comfortable silence overtakes the two of you, you gaze into his stormy eyes, deeper than you’d ever expected. you lean in gently and your eyes flutter close. your lips meet his for a brief second before he pulls back. your eyebrows scrunch as your eyes open again.
“another time..” he mutters out. you back away from him, finishing the glass of water before getting up and storming out of his dorm.
you avoid his gaze in all your classes on monday, opting to sit next to your brother instead during potions, he scowls at you but doesn't refuse you. you feel sirius’ gaze on you but you ignore it. after you get out he follows after you, calling your name. he tugs on your shoulder and you spin around to face him, a scowl on your face. “please, meet me at the lake in 20, please.”
you sigh at him and walk off, no definite answer to give him. 20 minutes pass and you exit the halls of the hogwarts castle, walking into the sun’s rays and onto the green. You spot a familiar raven-haired boy sitting by the lake, the same place you ‘studied.’ you walk over to him, sitting down beside him silently.
“you came,” he says, his tone bordering astonishment as he gazes at you.
“i promised.. i'm here for you.” you answer him.
he smiles at you and you can’t help but return it.
a few weeks pass as the fall bleeds into winter and the yule ball is brought up. you and sirius have begun hanging out practically everyday after potions. his mates, james specifically, have started to notice. when sirius gets back into the dorms — after missing dinner — and he sits his happy ass down on his bunk, james puts down the potions assignment he was attempting to work on.
“what’s with you and (y/n)?” james asks, no hostility in his voice, pure curiosity.
sirius snaps out of his giddy daze quickly, “nothing,” he replies, hesitation dripping from his voice.
“he likes her.” peter squeaks out.
when remus can’t talk about things going on in the group to everyone, he talks to peter about it — the boy’s so quiet anyway. james's eyes widen slightly while sirius’s practically bulge out of his head. he looks accusingly at remus who only throws his hands up in surrender.
“i mean it's fine if you do, sirius, but.. (y/n)?” james utters out, causing sirius to turn to him, a small glare in his eyes at his best friend.
“she’s not what you think she is.” he says coldly.
“hey, i believe you, mate! If you say she’s not a heinous stuck-up bitch, i believe you.” james says with a small smile, causing sirius to throw a dirty quidditch jersey in his general direction, pulling a laugh out of the tan boy.
“does this mean i can talk about her now? cause i've had to keep all my shit to myself and it is hard.” sirius says, getting approvals from his mates before he begins blabbing all about you into the night.
you’re huddled with narcissa and bellatrix in the courtyard when you feel a tap on your shoulder and see bellatrix sneer at whoever is behind you, causing a grin to pull at your lips as you turn to face sirius. bellatrix stomps off and narcissa follows her, but not before giving your shoulder a soft squeeze.
“sirius,” you regard him, tucking a loose curl behind his ear, causing his pale cheeks to redden slightly.
“go to the ball with me.” he asks, or rather urges. You let out a soft giggle, “i would love to.”
his face breaks into a grin at your response and he can’t help but cup your cheeks and plant a soft kiss on your lips, the kiss is all smiles and you giggle again when he parts. “you’ve gotta get to class, love,” he whispers.
“so do you..” you respond, but he only tucks a stray hair behind your ear in return and walks off. you have a soft smile on your face as you walk to charms.
unknown to you, your twin was behind one of the stone columns of the courtyard, witnessing your display of affection, and heads to his dorm to write a letter.
weeks pass and the ball creeps up. you’ve been to boutique’s on the higher end of hogsmeade with narcissa and have gotten dresses. narcissa’s a deep envy green, and yours to contrast, a deep red. floor length, the waist line just below your chest and thin straps. matching silk gloves run up your arms and your hair is curled and styled down. you walk down to the dining hall, revamped for the yule ball, with narcissa, her parting from you once she sees lucius, who had asked her. you glance around, not seeing sirius, but you spot marlene, along with dorcas and lily. you hesitantly make your way over to her, stopping a foot away from her. dorcas taps her shoulder and points to you and marlene turns.
“oh, hey doll!” she says before looking over your dress. “god, sirius is gonna lose his mind!” she comments, making you smile.
“you bet he is.” lily laughs out.
“you guys mind if i stay with you till sirius comes?” you ask gingerly.
“not at all, babe!” marlene affirms, they make you feel welcome immediately. the four of you chatter, lily mentioning something about how the boys are late to everything.
dorcas spots james followed by the others and waves him down. he makes his way over, arm circling lily’s waist as he steps up to you four. seems she finally gave in to him.
you turn to spot the other three, a few steps behind and when sirius sees you’re talking with his friends his heart stutters and then swells. He skips over to you, his arm copying james’s action. “amazing dress, love.”
marlene and dorcas simper at him and he gives them a look.
you end up spending most of the night with sirius and his mates, dancing in turn with the girls and your date. a slow song has just finished up and the girls whisk you away once again.
“is sirius good to you, truly?” dorcas asks you, and you smile, “he is, he’s sweet, and funny, and honest..” you say as you feel him creep up behind you leaning over your shoulder, “talkin’ about me, love?”
you roll your eyes at him, your smile widening at his mere presence. james saunters up behind him, throwing an arm around both sirius and you, squeezing himself between the two of you. “crazy how (y/n) got brought into our little group ‘cause of a prank,” james says, and you falter.
“what?” you ask, a confused smile still on your face but is wiped off immediately by james’s next words.
“yeah, near the beginning of the year we thought it’d be fun to crack your shell and get sirius to flirt with you and.. stuff..” james trails off as he catches lily’s glare, along with marlene and dorcas’s tensed faces, and then yours.
it was now silent in the hall to you — the shrieks and laughs of joy from the ball now drowned out. your eyes are glossed over with tears, but you dare not let them spill as you look at sirius accusingly.
“(y/n), listen—” he starts but you storm away, james dropping his arm as you speed out of the hall.
“do you not know when to shut up, james?” marlene whisper yells at him as sirius tries chasing after you.
he runs after you down one of the corridors as you're making your way back to the dungeons, he grabs your wrist, whirling you around. “(y/n), please listen!”
“are you going to deny what james said?” you ask coldly, he hadn't heard your voice like that in months, and it was as if he’d gotten a bucket of ice-cold water dumped on him. “well.. i can't but—”
you break out of his grasp, one tear slipping from the corner of your eye.
“don’t talk to me, black.” you storm off again, leaving him in the middle of the empty corridor.
the rest of the year passes in a blur, you’ve been shunned by your brother, and you were a cold, ice queen again. sitting alone in classes you don’t have with narcissa. you had appointed a new captain for the quidditch team and you quit. you spent your time in your dorm, sometimes by the black lake during quidditch games when you knew sirius couldn’t run off and find you.
and sirius.. he was in shambles, sulking practically the rest of the year.
summer came and you went home, riding in a train compartment with lucius, the silence enveloping the enclosed area was suffocating. you were grateful to finally get back to your manor, until you were stopped by your house elf from entering. your father came to the door, nodding at lucius before turning to you. “i understand you were involved with sirius black and his.. company.”
your heart stops and you nearly drop your luggage. tightening your grip on it, you manage to utter out, “..what?”
“you’ve become a blood traitor, (y/n). this is no longer your home.” and then he shuts the door in your face. a sigh forces its way out of your lungs and suddenly, all the walls and barriers you built around your heart shatter, the dam overflows.
your eyes well with tears and they overflow, the years of holding them back and pushing them down all come to surface. you sob.
only a few minutes later you hear a honk behind you. turning, you see what you're to understand is the knight bus. you take a ragged breath in before straightening your face, still trained to push down feelings. you step onto the bus and the ‘host’ asks where you're headed, “.. the leaky cauldron.” you utter out before sitting on one of the many beds that are not unlike the beds in the hogwarts dorms.
you get there and pay for a room. you stay for a few days, until your pocket money runs out and you have to leave again. you debate going back to malfoy manor for a few minutes before ultimately deciding it wasn’t a smart idea. it’s night again, you're not sure how long it's been since you weren't allowed in your house, you had rarely bathed, the days had turned into blurs.
you step out into the chilly air of london outside the leaky cauldron, your breath forming clouds in front of you. and in a few minutes the knight bus came again. you don't hesitate before stepping on this time. and when the host asks where you’re headed, you reply, “potter manor.” without thinking.
you’d remembered sirius telling you how euphemia, james’s mother, practically adopted him after being kicked out.
it’s only a few minutes before you've arrived. you thank the driver before getting off as it whizzes away again.
you take a few minutes to walk up to the door, and a few more beats to knock lightly on the door. your hear a warm ‘coming!’ from inside before you’re met with the sight of what you believe is james’ mom. her face visibly drops as she sees the state you're in.
“oh dearie, what happened to you?” she asks but you don’t answer as she ushers you in. she sits you at the large dining table as she ushers around the kitchen, she comes back a few minutes later with a steaming cup of vanilla-something tea. you graciously accept the tea, blowing before taking a scalding sip and warming your hands on the cup, your gaze trained down. you freeze as you hear footsteps and familiar voices coming down the stairs. james and sirius turn to see who euphemia’s guest is, only to see your mussed hair and blotchy face. your undereyes are defined in dark circles and swollen. you wipe your nose with the back of your hand as you look down at your lap.
“..(y/n)?” sirius asks, his voice soft.
“you’re the (y/n) sirius hasn't stopped talking about? no wonder you came here dearie.” euphemia says, “you can stay as long as you need, honey.” she says as she gets up, ushering james out of the room, telling him to make up a guest room, ultimately giving you and sirius space.
sirius moves swiftly to crouch beside you, he raises his hand tenderly to cup your jaw before turning you to look at him. “what happened, sweetheart?”
oh, that name.
your eyes well up again, “got kicked out..” you manage a grief-stricken laugh. his thumb swipes across your cheek.
“lucius told my parents about us and,” you hiccup, and continue in a softer voice, “i didn't know where else to go..”
his is hands move to wrap around your body, pulling you into a secure hug. “i’m glad you came, love.”
you bury your face in his shoulder, letting your tears soak his sweater.
he pulls himself away for a moment, running his hand through your hair to push them away from your face. “i swore to myself as soon as i could i’d explain.”
your eyes meet his but you stay silent, too tired to say anything.
“it did start out as a prank, our.. relationship, i will not lie to you, but the first day i talked to you i had already fallen for you. when you tried to stifle your laugh at my name for lucius, i wanted you to laugh at me forever.”
“malicious suits pretty well, though, huh.” you chuckle sadly, you're voice sore from disuse and tears.
“i did truly fall for you, (y/n), none of my actions were ungenuine.” he says as he moves to cup your face again. “please believe me when i say, you will never know how sorry and upset with myself i am for hurting you.”
your swollen, tear-stained face smiled at him. you lifted your hand to tuck a curl behind his ear, “there’s no need to apologize, sirius. I was a bit dramatic..”
“no, you weren’t, love. I should have told you, or just not done it at all.” he vindicates you. “i never want to hurt you again.”
“i trust you, sirius.” you say softly. he looks up into your eyes, his gaze flitting down to your lips briefly. you lean down and kiss him tenderly.
your lips taste of salt and vanilla but he pays no mind. he pulls away before caressing your face once more.
he stands, placing a kiss on the top of your forehead. “let’s get you some sleep, love.”

When Three Became Two 🪽| Platonic!Weasley Twins Imagine
Set during the Battle of Hogwarts
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harry Potter masterlist
Characters & Pairings: George & Fred Weasley x Sister!Weasley Triplet (platonic), the Golden Trio x weasley!sister (platonic)
Content Warnings: Character Death, sadness, angst, mentions of blood and major injury, profanity | female!reader (she/her) | wc: 7k
Premise: The dynamic redheaded duo Fred & George were never particularly close with their older triplet sister Y/N, especially after she was sorted into Slytherin during their first year at Hogwarts. It is not till the Battle of Hogwarts do the twins realize just how important family is, but by then it was too late to make amends.
(Y/E/C)- Your eye color
Note: I’m going to put red hair because you know Weasley but if you want to envision your own hair color that is totally fine too. Also, just so y'all know....I started this piece back in 2018 and recently picked it back up. So....the last 400 words are pretty much the most recent material I added + i did A LOT of editing. So I apologize if the beginning is trash because like I said, 6k of the nearly 7k words are from 6 years ago. I've been hyperfixating on the Weasley twins again which is why I was like 'maybe I should finish that imagine I started...'
Italics are flashbacks
------------------
Y/n Weasley felt the sweat and blood drip off her forehead as she ran through the halls of the school she had spent several years in which became a second home to her. She was out of breath, dodging and reflecting spells that were casted her way from the surrounding death eaters. Screams and shouts echoed from every corner, flashes of red and green light nearly blinding her (Y/E/C) eyes while her flaming red hair swished when she ran. Her breath was wavering, she could see several of her fellow Order members dueling around her. Passing the Great Hall, her pace nearly faltering when her eyes locked on the doors, the memory of walking through the first time when she was just a nervous little eleven year old began to play in the redheads mind….
Y/n sighed, stepping off the Hogwarts Express for the first time. Her twin brothers had already raced to the boats leaving the smaller, although older, of the three behind. Picking up her robes that were slightly dragging due to her small stature, Y/n followed her fellow classmates to the boating docks, casting a smile to Hagrid as she walked past him, who in return smiled back. She found a boat that already had two other first years seated, and quickly took the spot adjacent to a girl about her age.
“Hi,” the girl smiled to the redhead, “I’m Angelina Johnson. What’s your name?”
“I’m Y/n Weasley, it’s nice to meet you,” the two shook hands with smiles.
“What house are you hoping to be in?”
“Honestly,” Y/n sighed, “I’m not sure. My whole family has been in Gryffindor, including my two older brothers who are currently here. It would be nice to be sorted there so I have my family, but I’ve always felt different.”
“Are those other two ginger boys your brothers?” Angelina pointed to the boat where Fred and George were laughing loudly while talking with a dark-skinned boy. Y/n nodded after looking where Angelina was pointing, turning back with a grim expression.
“Yeah, that’s Fred and George. We’re triplets, I’m the oldest of the bunch yet I never seem to be included in anything.”
“Aw, that’s not right,” Angelina said with a frown. The two continued to talk the entire boat ride to the castle, learning about their backgrounds and finding out  they had several similar interests. One could tell that the two instantly connected and were on the road to becoming best friends. The two girls got off the boat once it got to the docks, Y/n helping Angelina when she nearly tripped as she got out, to which the young girl was grateful for.
“Oh my gosh thank you!” Angelina exclaimed, “That would have been so embarrassing.” Y/n laughed slightly, fixing the girl’s robes.
“No problem, I wouldn't want you tripping on the first night and being made fun of before classes even started.” The two girls followed everyone to the entrance of the castle, beaming in awe of everything they passed. Climbing the steps that lead to the great hall seemed like forever, but soon they were faced with an older woman who wore a pointed hat on top of her head and green robes.
“Good evening,” she greeted, “I am Professor McGonagall. In a few moments, the doors behind me will open and you will enter the Great Hall where you will then be sorted into one of the four houses named after the four founding members of Hogwarts; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin--.” She continued to explain the four houses to the children before the doors opened. When they did, Professor McGonagall escorted the group into the Great Hall. Many looked at the ceiling, gasping at the candles floating in midair. Some caught the eyes of soon to be fellow classmates, the students sending smiles to the young ones.
The group halted in front of the steps leading to the podium. The members of the head table gazed down on the children, Headmaster Dumbledore giving them a warm smile to welcome them making many feel more at ease. Professor McGonagall stood beside a stool, on top of it was a brown pointed hat.
“When I call your name,” she said, capturing everyone's attention, “You will step up, take a seat on the stool and I will place the sorting hat on your head where you will be sorted into your houses.” Y/n felt her hands become clammy, nerves racking through here with each name being called getting closer to hers. When Angelina was called and sorted into Gryffindor, Y/n clapped for her with a smile, happy for her new friend. She immediately hoped she would also be sorted into the house to be with not only her older brothers, but also with Angelina.
“Weasley, Fred.” The ginger boy raced up the stairs, careful not to trip over his robes and took a seat on the stool with a grin. The hat was placed onto his head and it took only moments before the hat exclaimed, “GRYFFINDOR!!” Cheers erupted from the lion house, the older Weasley boys, Charlie and Percy, clapping loudly for their brother and greeting him with open arms when he ran to the table. George was called next, the boy also running to the stool and the Gryffindor house applauded with joy once more hearing the sorting hat call out the name again. Fred and George embraced in a big hug, happy they were going to be in the same house and sat next to each other beside their brothers.
The room went quiet and Professor McGonagall read out the name many had already guessed was next, “Weasley, Y/n.” The small eleven-year-old let out a shaky breath, ascending the steps before taking a seat on the stool. She flinched when the hat was placed on her head and heard a gasp emitted from it.
“Ahh another Weasley,” the hat began, “only you are much different than your many siblings huh? Loyal to your family, a trait you value, but Hufflepuff is not for you. There is no doubt you are brave like a Gryffindor, there will be a time your bravery will be put to the test, but there is a strong ambition that lies within you. You are a very determined young one, and will do anything to accomplish your goals.” Y/N felt her heart begin to beat faster as the hat continued talking, “So, there is only one house in which you will find what you are looking for and that is SLYTHERIN!!”
That day, while no one wanted to admit it, changed everything. The twins hardly ever talked to Y/N, even less than what they already had. Many of the Slytherins ignored her, not enjoying the fact that a member of the blood-traitor family was sorted into the notorious pure-blood house. Even though Y/N was of pure blood, it did not matter to them, she was still relatively shunned from her housemates. Professor Snape was displeased at first until she proved she had a talent for potion making, becoming more advanced than any student he had ever taught. It was then he treated the Weasley girl with some actual respect and even allowed her to practice in the classroom whenever she pleased as long as she promised to never let her brothers get their hands on any of the ingredients he stored in the room.
Charlie, Angelina, and Cedric Diggory from Hufflepuff seemed to be the only people besides her parents and professors that looked beyond the fact she was in Slytherin. Others included her older brother Bill, her younger sister Ginny and eventually Hermione Granger. The bushy haired Gryffindor met the older Weasley in her first year at Hogwarts. After being told of the talented potion maker from Ron, Hermione sought to meet her. Y/N was shocked when the girl first introduced herself, but it was the start of a treasured friendship Y/N held dear to her.
“Hi!” a cheerful voice sounded, causing Y/N to look up from her textbook. Her eyes met the warm brown ones of a petite girl bushy haired girl sporting a Gryffindor tie and robes. The Slytherin girl gazed at her confused, looking around  the library in case she was addressing someone else other than her. By the warm smile the first-year gave her, Y/N realized she was in fact talking to her.
“Uh hi?” she said with a questionable tone, brows furrowed. The girl stuck her hand out which made Y/N slightly flinch by how fast the movement was.
“I’m Hermione Granger,” she introduced. Y/N hesitantly extended her own hand, clasping it with the girl's small one and shook it lightly.
“Y/N Weasley.”
“I know,” Hermione smiled, “Ron told me about you. Well he did not tell me much except your name and that you were in Slytherin. He also mentioned you were really good with potions and Snape likes you.” Y/N could not help but slightly chuckle at the last sentence.
“I wouldn’t say Snape ‘likes’ me, but he certainly tolerates me more than my siblings. You’ve probably already seen that the twins are pranksters, they tend to cause him immense distress.” This made Hermione laugh and Y/N felt her lips curl up. She then noticed the girl holding several textbooks, one of which was a first-year potions book, “Is there anything I can help you with Hermione?”
“I just wanted to get to know you,” the girl said warmly, which made Y/N slightly shocked. “Ron and the twins did not speak much about you and when they did they made it seem like you were horrible just because you were sorted into Slytherin. I know that a house does not define who a person really is, so I wanted to talk to you myself and it appears you are not a mean or evil person that your house makes people think you are.” Y/N could not believe what she was hearing and she could not detect any hint of a lie in the girl's words.
“Wow,” She breathed, “Sorry, I’m just a little taken back. It’s been a while since I’ve really heard anyone say that. Only my older siblings, minus Percy, my parents, my sister, and a few people who I happen to be friends with think the same way you do. Ron and the twins just really ignore me.”
“But aren’t you and the twins actually triplets?” The question caused Y/N to frown and look down at her book.
“Yeah,” she muttered softly, “We are. Many people forget that we are because we never act like it, but it’s okay, I’m used to the two leaving me out. It happened before we were sorted into our houses so it does not bother me much anymore. I’ve learned to live with it.” Hermione frowned at that, feeling sad for the older Weasley.
“That’s not right. You guys are siblings, family. They should not treat you like that.”
“Hey, don’t worry about it. One day they will realize how they act wrong, until then I can only be patient.” Hermione nodded though she still possessed a frown  and Y/N pushed away the many books laid on the table, gesturing for the girl to take a seat. “Here, sit down. You said you want to get to know me, so let's just talk while we do our homework and you can see how I really am compared to what Ron tells you. I’ll even help you with potions if you need.” Hermione beamed, placing her books on the table and sitting down across from the redhead. The two talked for hours until it was time for curfew, getting to know one another and Y/N offering help when Hermione had a question on a certain subject and Y/N felt it was the start of a blossoming friendship.
The years continued, and Y/N only had few friends, hardly ever seeing her siblings due to them all being sorted into Gryffindor leaving her alone. Her friendship with Hermione grew and she even looked at the girl as a sister, the Gryffindor looking at her the same way. Y/N and Angelina remained close even after being sorted in different houses. Despite having few friends, she could not wait to graduate and finally go off on her own, already planning to continue her work in potions and become a potioneer after spending countless summers devoted to perfecting different elixirs. Several events happened during her time at Hogwarts, including her sister Ginny unlocking the Chamber of Secrets and the tragedy of the TriWizard Tournament.
When the Order of the Phoenix was back in business to stop Voldemort following the death of her dear friend Cedric, Y/n immediately joined despite objections from her parents. The death of her friend caused immense grief. She became depressed in the following months, hardly sleeping due to nightmares of his corpse and she rarely ate, resulting in her facial features becoming more hollow. It was not until she joined the Order that she was back to her normal self and that was because of her determination to bring justice to Cedric’s death. The Order faced great loss. The deaths of Sirius, Dumbledore, Moody and with her brother George losing his ear proved how real the war was and the fight to make the world a safer place.
Now it was the second of May, and the fight of everyone’s life was in place. Death Eaters swarmed every inch of Hogwarts, attacking students whether they were armed or not. Y/N ran down the corridors, deflecting spells and sending jinxes back and forth. Her adrenaline was soaring, not knowing where exactly she was headed, but the only thing she knew was to survive and protect the students around her. Y/n never thought she would ever cast the killing curse in her life, but when a second-year Hufflepuff was about to be killed, the spell left her mouth before she could stop herself. The Death Eater fell back unmoving, Y/n took the hand of the small boy she saved and hurried him to the nearest dormitory or classroom.
“Here, go!” she ushered him into the room, “Stay here and do not leave! Hide somewhere and be alert, you understand?” The boy nodded furishouly, his small body shaking and clutching his wand tightly in his hand. The redhead raced out of the room, closing the door shut before darting down the hallway. A flash of familiar hair caught her eye and her feet carried her to the source. “Ginny!” She shouted upon seeing her sister. The younger Weasley halted her movement at the sound, turning around only to collide in the older one’s embrace. “Oh my God,” Y/n breathed, “Are you okay? Why are you out here? I thought you were to stay in the Room of Requirement until this was over?”
“Harry needed me to leave,” she told her sister, the two moving to a corner where they were slightly hidden from the battle, “He needed to search the room for a possible horcrux. Once he went in, I left and came here. I couldn’t just let my friends and family fight with the chances of them getting killed and just sit and wait!” Y/n sighed, bringing a hand to wipe the sweat on her face which resulted in more dirt being rubbed.
“While I don’t like you being involved, I understand where you’re coming from.” She pauses to rub her nose bridge, placing her hands on Ginny’s shoulders to look at her sternly, “Mum and dad might kill me for letting you fight, but there’s really no time to negotiate and stop you. At least find Neville or someone who can stay close to you and keep you covered, okay?” Ginny nodded, embracing her sister once more in a tight hug.
“Stay safe, sis.”
“I will,” Y/n told her, “You stay safe too, I’ll see you soon.” The two pulled away and Y/n bolted away down the hall while Ginny rushed to Tonks after seeing her battle a Death Eater and rushing to her aid. Y/n turned the corner, something in her stomach dropping and her intuition telling her something bad was about to happen. She heard the sound of a duel taking place and followed it. Familiar voices echoed in her ears and her pace picked up. The redhead rounded the corridor, jets of light flashing in her eyes and she spotted Fred and Percy battling Death Eaters while Harry, Ron, and Hermione helped while dodging incoming jinxes.
“Hello, Minister!” Percy bellowed, sending a jinx at the man, “Did I mention I’m resigning?”
“You’re joking, Perce!” Fred shouted and looked at his brother. Y/n watched the two and in the corner of eyes she could see a Death Eater with their wand raised. Her brothers could not see the man, and she noticed he was pointing at the wall directly behind them. Before she could think, Y/n sprinted as fast as her feet carried her, eyes widening when the flash of light emitted from the want of the assailant. At that moment, nothing mattered other than making sure her brothers were safe. All the years of being ignored and looked down upon by them due to being sorted in Slytherin seemed to vanish, and Y/n felt water line her eyes as she got closer.
“You actually are joking, Perce… I don’t think I’ve heard you joke since you were--.”
“Fred! Percy!” Her scream ignited and the two snapped their heads toward her just in time for the redhead to push them both out of the way at the exact moment the air exploded around them. The two brothers along with the Golden Trio were flown back from the impact, all landing onto the stone ground with a groan. Pain erupted to several areas of their bodies which would surely bruise. Dust covered them, their vision blurred from how much was in the air.
Fred pulled his body up, groaning from the pain in his side and coughing from how much dust filled his throat. He scanned the area and saw how the wall he was in front of was blasted apart with stone and wood now covering every inch of the ground with a large pile in the middle. It took two seconds for the ginger to realize what had happened, the last thing he saw was his sister running at him before he was flown back. He immediately got up and rushed to the pile of debris, staggering over the stones while shouting his sister's name.
“Y/n!!” He screamed, moving at a fast pace. “Y/n, can you hear me!” The boy began throwing the many pieces of stone and wood away from the pile, searching for any sign of movement and listening for sound. Percy and the trio joined in, the group shouting Y/n name and digging through the debris. “C’mon Y/n I need you to tell me where you are!” Fred grew more and more worried, feeling his heart sink by the second. It was not until he heard a pained groan and rushed to the source. He spotted a hand peeking through the rubble and Fred shouted for the others saying he found her. They all rushed to him, removing the stone covering Y/n's body, allowing Fred to pull her out of the wreckage when they were able to get her upper half revealed. She let out a scream, pain erupting all through her and Fred tried his best to get her out as gently as he could.
“I got you, sis.” He said with a shaky voice, “I got you.” With one quick but harsh tug, Y/n was removed from the rubble and was laid onto the floor. Everyone surrounded her, becoming frozen by how much blood covered her body. Cuts and gashes painted her skin, her clothing ripped and chunks of stone were embedded into the many wounds. Her breath wavered, gasping for air and they all felt their heart race at the sight. Hermione, with shaky hands, pressed a palm on to a deep cut in Y/n’s neck. The Weasley girl hissed, blood filling her mouth and dripping down her lips.
“You’re going to be okay, Y/n,” Hermoine’s voice cracked, trying not to look at the many wounds which the girl could tell will be fatal if not treated immediately. Ron could see a large gash right above his sister’s temple and gently laid his hand on top of it, while biting his lip to stop a sob from escaping. He knew it was bad, and his sister was dying in front of him. They needed a healer, but the Great Hall was several corridors away and Ron feared she would not make it in time. Percy began calling for help, applying pressure onto her stomach which had been cut open when a large piece of wood had impaled her. Harry stayed on his feet with his wand ready for any threats while also keeping his eye on Y/n, his heart dropping at the sight of her battered body.
“I can’t--,” Y/n gasped with a tired breath as Fred held her hand, “I can’t feel my legs.” She could hear them gasp, Fred’s hand becoming tense in her hold.
“We need to get her to Madam Pomfrey!” Fred shouted and went to pick her up, the others keeping their hands on her wounds to hold the bleeding but when they tried Y/n erupted in wails from the pain filling her by the slightest movement. It was like a volcano, fire filling her blood. The thick liquid poured out of her wounds, her skin becoming pale. Hermione’s hands were painted red, as were Ron and Percy’s. The sound of her screams were so loud it echoed through the nearby hallway and caused tears to stream down Hermione’s face.
“Stop!” she shouted, “Fred stop! It’s too late, she won’t make it!”
“You don’t know that!” He yelled back trying to get his sister into his arms, his clothes now coated in red. Y/n began to shake from the pain, becoming numb by the intensity and Fred started to panic.
“Fred, she’s losing too much blood,” Hermione cried, “She’ll bleed out before we can even get her to the Great Hall.”
“Are you serious, Hermione?!” Fred shouted in disbelief over the chaos around them, “Do you even hear yourself?! She’s your friend and you’re gonna let her die!? ”
“Fred stop,” Y/n's hoarse voice whispered. The ginger boy looked down at his sister, her upper body being held up in his arms while the others continued to put pressure on her wounds but blood continued to seep through their fingers.
“What--?”
“She’s r-right,” Y/n interrupted, “I-I won’t make it. The pain is too much--I-I can’t move and I'm losing too much blood.” She was shaking, fighting against what was pulling her to the other side to have a few precious moments with her family. “You need to get out of here, go find mum and dad.” Fred could not believe what he was hearing, neither Ron nor Percy. All three boys felt their eyes water and Fred tightened his hold on her. Percy grabbed her other hand, and Ron kept his on her head, covering her wound while tears flooded his face.
“Y/n,” Fred stuttered her name, “We can get you to a healer. Madam Pomfrey will help and she will heal you, you’ll be fine.” The words were more to convince himself. He watched as her lips curled up, tired and broken eyes looking into his.
“Fred,” she sighed, “You and I both know that I am not going to make it.” A sob escaped his throat.
“No! You’re not dying! You’re going to be okay!” He cried, dropping his head so his cheek rested on her hair. “You’re going to get out of here. You’re going to go home and learn how to walk again and become a potioneer like you’ve always dreamed of. You’ll get married and have kids…” He trailed off when sobs overtook him and he began to cry into her hair. Fred never believed he would ever have to watch his sister die in his arms. He had never felt more pain in his life than in that moment watching her gasp for air as her life started to fade away. What made it even more painful was knowing she saved him in the process, “I was supposed to die, not you! Not you!”
Fred started to think back to all the times he and George would ignore Y/n, never including her in pranks or just ordinary things. The moment she was sorted into Slytherin they acted like they were not even related at times and Fred felt more tears fall knowing he could never make up for it. He won’t ever get the chance to show her how sorry he was.
“Y/N go get your brothers and tell them supper is ready.”
“Yes mum.” Y/N raced up the many flights of stairs in the burrow in search of her twin brothers. When she got to the room, she knocked gently and waited for a reply but did not hear one so she pushed it open to see the two boys sitting on the ground in between their beds with several items in front of them.
“Hey, hey!” Fred shouted in surprise and George started to gather their many inventions away from her sight. “You can’t just come in here without saying anything!” Y/N frowned at him.
“I knocked,” she told him, “neither of you responded.”
“Whatever,” he rolled his eyes, “Still does not mean you can just walk in our room unannounced. We are doing something very exclusive and can’t risk you snitching it to mum or dad or your pal Snape.” Y/n’s eyes narrowed at her brother.
“Snape is not my ‘pal.’ He just stands me more than you lot because you are always causing him trouble.” George mumbled something under his breath, but the girl could not hear it. “And besides, I haven’t told anyone about your previous antics so why would I do so now?”
“Oh please,” Fred said in an annoyed tone, “we know you told Filch that we were the ones who put fireworks in his office second-year.” Y/N’s jaw dropped at the accusation, her cheeks becoming inflamed as anger rose.
“I did no such thing!” she shouted, “whoever told you that was a lie! I never ratted you out to Filch and why would he believe me? He thinks I’m just as bad as you two because I’m a Weasley.”
“Sometimes I don’t understand how you are one?”
“Excuse me?” she said appalled, “What in the bloody hell do you mean by that?” The twins just looked at her with blank expressions while she felt her eyes begin to water.
“Well first,” Fred started, “the most obvious is that you are the only one of us who got sorted into Slytherin. A house you know is full of pure-blooded pricks and bullies who hate everyone but themselves. You don’t like quidditch like the rest of us and prefer to be by yourself working on potions. Snape likes you, but hates the rest of us and you just have always been the outkast in the family. Who knows, you may even become a Death Eater like the rest of your housemates. Maybe you already are one and just haven’t said anything, wouldn’t be surprised you never tell anyone in this house what you are up to.” Y/n stayed silent when Fred finished, she felt a small tear fall down her cheek but neither of her brothers looked like they were unapologetic. She bit her lip giving a small nod and wiped away the drop.
“Mum wants you to know that supper is ready.” Turning on her heel, Y/n paced out of the room with the door slamming shut behind her. She shoved past Percy who simply glared at her for her attitude and bumping into him, obviously not knowing what the twins had said to her to cause such emotion. The redhead burst into her room, collapsing onto her bed and pushing her face into her pillow as cries erupted from her, being muffled by the pillow. She felt her heart break, her brother's words replaying in her head causing torment like a radio playing a horrible song over and over again.
“I’m sorry, Y/n,” he wept into her hair, “I’m sorry I treated you so badly. For everything. Ignoring you, pranking you in ways that had humiliated you and made you cry. Accusing you of snitching on us when you never did.” He held her close to his body, breaking inside each time she made a sound of agony. “I’m sorry for what I said to you during fourth year. I’m such a horrible brother,” he sobbed, “Please sis, don’t go. Don’t leave us.”
“It’s okay, Fred,” she hushed him, stroking his arm with the hand Percy wasn’t holding. The two other Weasley boys were sobbing next to her. They two often treated her unfairly and were now going to live in tremendous guilt and despair, begging God to not take her. “It’s okay,” she said again, this time quieter.
“Y-Y/N,” Percy stuttered, but she simply hushed him.
Her voice grew weaker, and the group knew it was only moments before she would be gone forever. “It’s gonna be okay. I love--,” it was getting harder to speak, but she was fighting. “I love you all.”
“We love you too. We always will,” Ron said and Hermione started to cry harder, leaning onto Ron for support. Harry no longer looked around for Death Eaters, his own face drenched in tears at the sight in front of him. He felt anguish in him, seeing another friend die at the hands of those who wanted him dead.
“You think I’ll see Cedric up there?” She questioned, eyelids falling shut and the image of her best friend filled her mind. Happy at the thought of possibly seeing him again. Fred let out a small cry before she felt him nod.
“Y-yeah,” he croaked, “He’ll be waiting for you. You’ll be together again just like before.”
“Freddie?”
“Yeah, sis?”
“Take care of George,” she managed to breathe out, “Tell him I love him.”
“I will,” He sniffed, feeling her take one last breath.
“Promise me you will live.” The air left her body one last time, the pain no longer present and Y/n felt at peace, unable to hear Fred’s last words to her.
 “I promise. I love you, sis.” But Y/N did not respond, causing him to gently shake her.  Her lack of reaction caused Fred to collapse into a heap of cries when her body finally went limp in his arms. “Y-y/n?”
Percy felt her hand become unmoved and he too, cried in heartbreak. Ron held onto Hermione, turning his body away so he did not see his now dead sister in his brother’s arms. His heart was heavy with agony and he could not help console Hermione for he was in the same state. Harry dropped his head, sadness all within him at the loss of someone he looked at as family. He would never forgive himself, and he wished nothing more for Y/n to be brought back.
“Y/n,” Fred tried again, but to no avail. “W-wake up. Please w-wake u-up.”
The Golden Trio had to force themselves to leave, to continue their search before more people died. Harry and Hermoine having to drag poor Ron away from his siblings. None wanted to go, but time was limited and it took all their strength to get up and leave Percy and Fred with Y/n’s body. Promising Ron they’d get her to their family once it was safe to do so.
The two Weasley brothers lost track of time. They stayed put, mourning the loss of their sister until the battle ceased and they were drained of tears. It soon became quiet in the castle, Death Eaters had retreated upon Voldermorts order and bodies laid all through the halls.
“We should take her to the Great Hall,” Percy spoke with a dry voice, hoarse from all the cries. “Take her to mum and dad.” Fred was still, looking in front of him at the dusted hallway full of debris from the explosion that killed his sister. She was still held close in his arms, eyes closed and the blood stopped flowing but coated every inch of her skin along with Fred’s clothes. It took all his might to look down, eyes landing on her face. She looked peaceful, her lips slightly curled as though she had died smiling and that gave Fred some sort of comfort despite her damaged body.
That she left the world at peace.
“You think she’ll watch over us? Even though we treated her like shit?” His voice cracked. The older Weasley gazed down at his little sister, a small yet heartbroken smile on his lips and he cleared his throat. His hand came over her forehead to move some of her red hair, flinching at how cold her skin was.
“Yeah,” he said, “I think she will.” Fred carefully stood, cradleling Y/n in his arms. Percy rose beside him, grabbing their discarded wands and leading them out of the hallway, careful to avoid the debris around them. They reached the Great Hall, hearing the sound of others. Many were painful groans, others were cries of despair. The two emerged in the doorway, paying no mind to those around them and instead continued to walk forward until they saw their parents, Ginny and older brothers Bill and Charlie. Ginny was the first to see them, and rushed to them relieved they were okay and searched for her sister, but when her eyes landed on what was in Fred’s arms she halted. She could see the flaming red hair similar to hers and the blood stained clothing on the unmoving body. Her mouth went agape, hand flying to cover it as her eyes filled with water threatening to escape.
“Please tell me it’s not--.” But Percy simply shook his head, looking at his baby sister with sorrow and Ginny let out a small scream, falling to the ground but was caught by Bill. He stared at the Y/n’s lifeless body, his heart breaking into pieces and he tried desperately to console Ginny, but found it hard to battle his own grief emerging. Molly and Arthur ran upon hearing their daughter’s scream and froze when they saw their son.
“Fred,” Arthur said in a hesitant voice. His son looked at him with tear filled eyes, lips quivering and for Fred, he could feel his body start to shake.
“I-I-I,” he could not find the words, “S-she saved us. She saved us…..” His knees nearly gave out and his brothers Percy and Charlie helped him lower their deceased sister onto the ground. After gently placing the fallen Weasley onto the stone floor, Fred once more collapsed over her body as his grief overpowered him once more. Molly fell back into her husband’s arms, wailing in agony, he too had trouble holding her up as his body racked with sobs. Ginny was still on the floor, being cradled by Bill while Charlie and Percy stood over Fred, rubbing his back with tears of their own falling.
Onlookers watched with solemn expressions. The sight was gut wrenching but unfortunately resembled many throughout the Great Hall as friends mourned friends and teachers draped blankets over their deceased students.
“No! Not my girl!” Molly screamed, “Please not m-my girl.” She fell to her knees, crawling over to the opposite side of her daughter's body and caressed her cold cheek. Blood was all over her precious face, adorned with cuts and gashes, the most horrific on her head and neck. Molly did not even want to look down at Y/n’s body, for she was afraid of what else had happened to cause her daughter such a horrific death. Arthur could see the gaping wound in Y/n’s torso, his stomach lurching at the sight and he had to turn away as he felt nauseous.
George burst through the entrance of the Great Hall. He had separated from his family and Fred at some point during the battle which resulted in his anxiety to soar at not knowing where they were. He heard the wounded were being treated in the Great Hall along with the bodies of those who perished being moved until further notice, so the ginger bolted to the location as fast as he could. His eyes scanned every inch of the large dining hall, and soon he could see a group of people with the same colored hair as him, instantly relieved.
George walked with a rushed pace, slowing with confusion when he heard the wretched cries of his parents and siblings. They were all huddled, blocking his view of the ground. He immediately looked for Fred, becoming relaxed when he saw his brother alive. But George’s stomach dropped at the broken look painted on his twin’s face.
“F-Fred,” he stuttered out as he approached him, “what’s wron----.” Something behind Fred’s shoulder caught his eye, George’s gaze falling to the still figure on the ground. That’s when he realized the fact Fred was kneeling on the ground, hovered over the figure, and his mother was sobbing into their neck.
His twin lifted his head, turning to meet George’s eyes, which revealed the horrific reality waiting for him. There, lying on the stretcher covered in a dark red--almost black--substance and nearly unrecongnizable, was his sister Y/n. Unmoving. Dead.
All the air left George’s body, face consorting to match his family as he took in sight. The clothes she wore were tattered. Dirt and grime painted the visible parts of her skin not coated in her blood. Gashes upon gashes. A nasty intrusion on her temple and torso. George felt the bile form in his throat and before he could stop it the redhead was hunched over, spilling the contents of his stomach onto the floor. Arthur instantly went to him, rubbing his back. Once it appeared George had got it all out, Arthur produced a handkerchief from his pocket, wiping his son's mouth as he had seemed to freeze.
“Y-Y/n,” he dropped to his knees. Crawling to Fred and their mother. His twin slightly moved aside to give space. George instantly reached for her hand, devastated when the cold touch hit his skin. “No.” Tears dropped from his eyes, George looking to his family for them to say it was all a nightmare. “N-no. No!”
“George,” Molly whispered, reaching over to comfort him.
He shook his head, not wanting to believe the truth. “What happened?!” Fred winced, returning to a heap of sobs.
“She saved us,” Percy whispered, making George look up. “There was an explosion. A-and she pushed us out of the way. A wall came crashing down,” the older Weasley boy flinched, head dropping as he relieved the most horrifying moment of his life. “It crushed her.”
Molly wheeped into her daughter's chest. Picturing the scene. Unable to save her baby girl who she had spent so long wishing for.
For the twins, it was like a piece of them was now missing. Creating a hole deep in their hearts. They all came into the world together. Y/n first, then Fred, lastly George. How were they supposed to go forward without the third piece of their puzzle?
This question only surfaced the ocean-sized guilt swimming in their veins. Like Fred had done in the precious moments he held their dying sister, George was replaying all the times he had tormented Y/n. The constant pranking. Humiliating her in front of her friends and schoolmates. Getting her in trouble with their antics when she took the fall. Accusing her of snitching on them.
George crumbled, clutching onto Y/n’s hand as he lowered his head to her torso. Praying to whoever above to take care of her in the afterlife and begging her spirit to forgive him. Wishing he could turn back time to tell her how much he loved her. He wanted his sister back.
A cold breeze brushed his ear, almost like a whisper. George thought he felt a hand on his shoulder, but when he turned the closest person to him was Percy, and he was at least five steps away.
Whatever it was Fred had felt it two. The redheads glancing to one another, anguish filling their gaze. For they had their suspicions of what--or who--was responsible for the touch.
Turning back to Y/n’s body, Fred and George pictured what life was in store for them without their sister. Reality sunk in. No longer a bright light, but instead dimly lit.
For what was once three became two.

Is It Still Punishment if It Was Worth It? ~ George Weasley
Summary: Y/N runs into George Weasley after her detention with Umbridge (aka me finishing a request from ages ago)
Warnings: Umbridge *shudders*
Word count: 2.4k

As I left the atrocious pink office, nothing around me stirred, as if the whole castle was frozen, lying in wait for the dawn. Light streamed through the open doorway, heralding my late release from detention.
“Off to bed, dear,” said that sugary, poisonous voice behind me. “Don’t let Mr. Filch catch you lingering instead of being safe asleep in your bed.” Was it my imagination, or did the throbbing of the back of my hand pulse in time with her voice?
I wanted nothing more than to scurry away as fast as my legs would allow, but like any predatory animal, Professor Umbridge could smell fear, so I simply bowed my head as demurely as possible, avoiding her deep-set gaze. “Yes, professor.” I could feel the horrid woman’s toad eyes following me as I walked down the wide staircase, heading for the dungeons.
The door closed behind me with an ominous thud, and the light disappeared.
Stopping in my tracks, I immediately turned the corner to a little alcove, slumping next to the window. I stared at the colored glass, depicting a dragon breathing flames up into the sky. My wound gave a particularly violent throb. “Ouch,” I hissed under my breath, staring down at the shiny red letters.
I must obey the rules.
Cradling my aching hand to my chest, I let out a long breath. Every pang seemed to ring through my whole body, and yet, instead of acting as a deterrent, I was all the more resolved in my actions. If Umbridge had forced my brother to write those words and endure this pain, even her title as High Inquisitor would not have saved her from my wrath.
“Well, that’s a first.”
I jolted. At first, I wondered if it’d been the dragon that spoke—often things at Hogwarts spoke when one might think they shouldn’t. But the dragon didn’t move. I looked around me, just in time to see the tapestry further down the stairs shift, and a red-headed boy came out from behind it.
George Weasley. Certified troublemaker with an un-shuttable gob and downright homemade values, the very personification of Godric Gryffindor’s ideal student.
“Excuse me?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
George gestured to my hand. “I didn’t know she punished Slytherins too.” He spoke the word without distaste, but with an emphasis all the same.
I just shook my head and left my alcove, heading for the Slytherin common room. There was no point in arguing in Slytherin’s favor; the history in this castle chronicled many a Slytherin who tried and subsequently had to run for the Hospital Wing before a toenail-growing hex grew too painful to walk.
Unfortunately, the redhead sidled into my path. I took several steps back, checking for the location of his wand, prepared to whip out my own before he could cast anything. But his hands were empty, and judging by the way he watched me, his head was regrettably anything but.
“You’re in my way,” I said calmly.
“Malfoy shouldn’t have done that.”
The simple statement made my lungs falter for breath, but I kept my face impassive. “He didn’t have a choice.”
“No, he had a choice.” George’s maddeningly certain tone set my teeth on edge.
I scoffed, walking down the staircase. “You don’t understand, you couldn’t possibly understand what he faces.”
“Oh, yes,” George’s voice grew louder and mocking, following me on my heels, “poor little rich Malfoy, head of the Inquisitor Squad, can’t handle–”
“Sod off.” My gritted teeth added all the threat I wanted, but George wasn’t deterred.
“What a slog it is, having everything one could possibly–”
I whirled around, my hands finding George’s chest to shove him as hard as I could. “You don’t know what it’s like!” I hissed, glaring at him. “You and your brothers just do whatever you fancy at the moment, whatever wicked thing halfway crosses your mind. Well, not all of us have the luxury of doing what we want.”
George looked as serious as I’d ever seen him. “He could’ve spared you this and he didn’t. No true friend would scurry off to Umbridge to report you like that.”
For a moment, I considered starting a row, but Umbridge’s office was still within earshot, and I didn’t want another round of writing with that cursed quill. So I chose not to acknowledge him, walking down the stairs with my head held high, reaching the bottom of the stairs and quickly walking down the corridor, hoping my feet could outrun George’s mouth. But when I looked to my right, there was George, loping alongside me.
“Seriously–”
“Seriously, George, shut it.” I came to a stop, glaring up at him. “What are you even doing here? It’s past curfew.”
“Some of us are taking turns behind the tapestry,” he said easily. “Watching in case any first or second years get turned out of Umbridge’s office with bleeding hands.”
“Oh?” I tossed my head, moving my hair to one side. “And if it were a Slytherin first year, would you have greeted them the way you greeted me?” If my kid brother had been the one walking out of the office, I silently asked, would you have comforted him?
“Perhaps, but I’m willing to bet that they, unlike you, would accept a hug and a trip to the kitchens for some dessert afterwards.”
My stomach rumbled, and I placed my uninjured hand over it. “Well, I’m no first year, so you can go.” I resumed my furious pace.
George easily kept up. “It wasn’t fair of Malfoy to do that.”
Was it impossible for him to leave well enough alone? “When I want your opinion, I’ll ask for it.”
“Everyone knows you were just protecting your brother.”
I seized the collar of George’s robes, dragging his face down an inch from mine. “Don’t you dare–
“I’m not going to tell,” George said, remarkably calm considering how quickly his position had changed.
“How am I supposed to trust that?”
“I’m not Malfoy.”
I considered him for another moment before letting him go. He straightened, smoothing out his robes. “How did you know?” I asked.
George gave a short laugh. “You’ve never touched a broomstick outside of Flying class, and yet I’m supposed to believe you even have a broomstick to bring into the castle?” He shook his head. “Anyone with eyes knows you’d do anything for your brother, so of course Umbridge is the only one daft enough to fall for your switcheroo.”
I pondered his words for a moment before turning to walk back to my room. Like before, George kept time beside me. “She shouldn’t have given detention just for having a broomstick.”
I shook my head. “There are rules.”
“And rules were made to–”
“–be broken?” I rolled my eyes. “Of course. I shouldn’t have expected anything less from a Gryffindor.”
“Says the Slytherin who just got out of detention.” I bit my tongue, trying to stay silent. “You should tell your head of house what Umbridge’s doing, maybe Snape’ll do something about–”
I let out a short laugh. “See, there’s the difference between you and me, George–”
George leapt forward, covering my mouth. Next thing I knew, I was being tugged behind a statue, finally pulled to meet George’s alarmed expression.
This was it. I should’ve known better than to trust a Gryffindor. Now he was going to hex me or curse me or even forgo a wand altogether and use his own two fists.
Eyes wide, I tried to shove him away, protesting loudly from behind his hand. “Shush!” George said harshly. “Filch!”
I instantly stopped fighting, my heart pounding for a different reason. If George and I were caught by Filch right now, not only would I have another detention with Umbridge, but word would get out. I couldn’t even imagine the trouble I’d be in with my house if they found out I was out at night past curfew with a Gryffindor, and a Weasley at that!
The light of the lantern the caretaker always carried with him after hours grew closer and closer to the statue we crouched behind. George lifted his hand from my mouth, pressing a finger to his lips. I rolled my eyes. As if I didn’t already get the memo.
“Anyone about, my dear?” Filch’s haughty voice asked. Mrs. Norris meowed back, and I heard the sound of a dark chuckle. "Professor Umbridge might allow us to try our new manacles.”
George and I met eyes.
He made a stop gesture and then started to creep forward towards Filch. What could he possibly be planning? Filch would see him!
Then it occurred to me. The noble idiot was about to sacrifice himself so that I would stay undetected.
Oh no you don’t, I thought, seizing the back of George’s robes, dragging him back. I was not about to owe a Gryffindor anything. I pulled out my wand and a tissue I'd forgotten was there.
Snufflifors, I mouthed.
The tissue morphed into a white mouse, which immediately scampered down the corridor. Immediately, Mrs. Norris sped after it.
“My dear!” Filch protested, running after her, the light from his lantern growing farther and farther away until George and I were left alone in the dark.
“Wow,” George stared in the direction Filch had gone, “that was quite impressive.”
The compliment made my cheeks warm. “Well, some of us jump into things without thinking about the consequences and some of us actually use our brains for more than pranks.” I shoved my wand into my pocket, about to storm down the corridor.
“So you thought it through beforehand?”
“I didn’t necessarily plan to get caught by–”
“No, you thought through taking the blame for your brother?”
I stopped short, allowing George to catch up with me. I eyed him warily. Was he fishing for evidence to get my brother in trouble? Or was he fishing for other reasons?  “Of course I did,” I said finally, deciding that my word against George’s was hardly any competition.
A strange look twinkled in his eyes at that. “You actually thought about getting in trouble?” I didn’t reply. I should’ve known that I wouldn’t need to, because George could easily carry a conversation by himself. “You knew you could lose house points? And Hogsmeade could become off-limits to you? And that you might end up with words scratched into the back of your hand?”
My silence was the only answer. Truthfully, he was right. I’d thought through all those possibilities.
I’d earned Slytherin enough points throughout the years that any deduction wouldn’t damage my reputation too badly for anyone not in the Inquisitor Squad, especially under Umbridge’s reign. As for Hogsmeade, the castle itself was large enough to keep me from feeling claustrophobic. And, yes, I even budgeted for the possibility of getting detention with Umbridge; that’s why there was a Soothing potion waiting for me in my room.
What I hadn’t anticipated was Malfoy being the one to report me.
So much for being friends.
George shuffled closer, bringing me to the present with his brown eyes. “You thought through the possibilities, and you still did it?” I nodded, and a grin broke out on his face. “Are you sure you aren’t supposed to be in Gryffindor?”
I made a disgusted sound in the back of my throat. “How dare you,” I said blandly.
“I’m serious,” he said with a smile that said the opposite. “You’re quite the little risk-taker.”
“Is it really risk-taking,” I murmured, “if you’re prepared for all the risks?”
The inner corners of George’s eyebrows turned upward, his smile dimming to a more serious affect. “Was it worth it even though you got caught and punished?”
“Is it still punishment if it was worth it?”
His freckled face relaxed at the question, smoothing out until it was without pucker or twinge. “Should there be a rule against it if it’s still worth it?” he murmured.
I brought out my hand, looking down on it so I could once again read the message waiting there. The shiny letters didn’t hold any answers within their crimson hue. “I’m not sure.”
A hand reached out to touch mine, and my breath caught when I saw, on the back of George’s hand, familiar words, written in narrower handwriting.
I must obey the rules.
“Funny,” George said softly. “Regardless of what happened beforehand, we ended up the same.”
I slowly dragged my eyes up to meet his. “Not quite.” I smiled sadly. “I’m apparently friendless.”
“Not friendless,” George murmured like a promise. “Not if you don’t want to be.”
I studied him, searching for any sign of deception. His locks had darkened over the years. In our first year, they could only be described as flaming, his hair as dangerous as his tendencies, but now they’d tempered into a comforting copper hue. His freckles also faded, though there were still just as many of them. His eyebrows normally promised even more trouble than his mischievous eyes, but now, nothing in his face seemed disingenuous. “Can Slytherins and Gryffindors even be friends?” I asked.
“Is it risk-taking if you’re prepared for all the risks?” George echoed.
I gave a short laugh. “Touchè.”
“Besides,” George said with a smirk, “you could do with friends better than that old tosser.”
I wanted to laugh, truly I did. Or perhaps I wanted to care little enough to be able to laugh. But alas, I cared too much, so I simply shook it off. “I’d better go, before Filch actually finds us.”
“Fair enough.” George dropped my hand, and I missed the warmth immediately. “See you around, Y/N?”
I took great care to lessen my smile into a smirk. “If you’re lucky,” I replied.
George gave a relaxed salute before walking back the way we’d come, presumably to take up his place behind the tapestry.
I watched him go. Funny, I may not have been a first year, and he may not have taken me to the kitchens for dessert, and yet…I was glad for anyone else who might leave Umbridge’s office when George waited for them behind the tapestry.

"10 points to Slytherin," Professor Slughorn commends proudly after you answer his question correctly.
Smirking, you shoot Sirius Black a smug look and lean back in your seat. If looks could kill, you'd likely be a pile of ashes right now, but luckily his heated glares aren't more than a mild inconvenience.
You were the top of your class in nearly every subject, but Potions was one that Sirius somehow managed to eke his way to the top of. He was a naturally gifted wizard who hadn't always been academically inclined, but not for lack of talent. In his early years at Hogwarts, he hadn't tried very hard in school, instead opting to play quidditch and come up with pranks. Your rivalry was what had pushed him to work harder, and he got a ridiculous amount of satisfaction from beating you in the subject taught by your head of house.
Potions soon comes to an end and you pack your things up quickly, strutting out of the dingy room in a hurry. To your dismay, Sirius catches up quickly and you don't look at him when he starts talking to you. "How does it feel being the second best at your favorite subject?"
Not bothering to slow down, you respond icily, "How does it feel being the second best at everything else?"
He chuckles with mirth, matching your gait with irritating precision. You start to think he may finally stalk off, when he leans in close to your ear and whispers, "Not for long."
~~~
Your final class of the day is History of Magic, one which you have the misfortune of sharing with Sirius again. Adjusting your book bag on your shoulder, you walk into the classroom and take your usual seat at the front. You spot Sirius joking with his friends near the back, and you once again begrudgingly admit to yourself that he would be beautiful if he wasn't so infuriating. The way his soft brown eyes always have a glint of mischief, or how his long, dark hair is always styled perfectly or how—
A bell rings, signaling the beginning of the hour and you are jolted from your thoughts. Sirius takes a seat next to you, and unable to help yourself, you glance over at him. You find him already looking at you, a barely concealed grin on his face. "I hear Binns is assigning essay groups today. Now, should I invite 50 people or 100 people to the party I throw when I ace the essay and get the top score in History of Magic this year?"
Rolling your eyes, you turn back to face the front of the classroom, your hair falling over your shoulder in a silky curtain. "In your dreams, Black."
You would be lying if you said that your little rivalry with Sirius wasn't amusing at times, but it was mostly a way to keep you in check so that you could get out of your parent's house once you passed your N.E.W.T.S. Your friends knew about your disagreement with your family's blood purity morals, but no one outside of Slytherin paid enough attention to see how much your house's reputation displeased you.
Professor Binns eventually starts lecturing about the Goblin Rebellions and you quickly grab your quill and parchment. You try your best to stay focused, but even your interest in history can't keep you engaged with Binns' slow speech and indifference. By the time he starts assigning essay pairings, you are so zoned out that you almost miss it when your name is followed by Sirius Black's.
Your eyes widen with disbelief and you turn to Sirius to see an aghast expression on his face. You open your mouth to say something but Sirius just shakes his head and mutters, "There's no point in fighting Binns. He doesn't care enough to rework the arrangements."
You know he's right, but anger and dread flood your veins at the thought of spending a week working with Sirius fucking Black. You stuff your things into your book bag and stomp past him, taking a moment to gripe, "I can't believe I have to work with a bloody Gryffindor."
You're almost out the door when he shoots back, "It's not like I want to work with blood purist scum!"
Shaking your head, you roll your eyes and keep walking until he is out of earshot. His insults used to hurt your feelings, but you had long since gotten over your insecurities about your family and upbringing. His snipes just served to prove his ignorance about who you really were.
~~~
Sirius is fuming as he storms out of History of Magic. He would rather eat slugs than spend a week with you for the essay, but he knew that arguing with the decision was futile. When he passes through the doorway you just walked through, he smells the faint scent of mint and gardenia. Before he can stop himself, he breathes in deeply, catching the last remnants of your lingering perfume. The regret he feels is immediate and he rubs a hand over his face in contempt.
When he returns to Gryffindor tower, he drops his bag in his dormitory before throwing himself onto the couch in the common room. Remus and James are sitting by the fireplace, working on their own homework when he puts his hand to his forehead and groans loudly.
"What's up with you?" James asks, lifting his head from his parchment.
"Wait, let me finish this line," Remus says, waving his hand as he frantically scribbles down a few words. "Okay, what's going on?"
"Oh, nothing," Sirius sighs dramatically. "Just that I've been partnered up with the worst person in the world."
"Binns put you with Snape?" Remus gasps, only slightly feigning astonishment.
"Nope," Sirius shakes his head, lifting his brows for effect, "worse. He put me with y/n."
The two boys share a look for a moment, before James breaks the silence with a small, "Ah."
Sirius, on the other hand, looks at them incredulously. "Ah? I have been given a death sentence and that's all you lot have to say?"
"You don't think you're being a tad dramatic there?" Remus asks quietly. "She's not as bad as you seem to think she is."
Sirius doesn't seem convinced, so James interjects. "Yeah, Lily really doesn't mind her either, actually. They met at one of Slughorn's parties last year."
"Well then, she must be fantastic at hiding her true colors," Sirius decides, sitting up on the couch. "You all have seen her family's reputation. What they've done to people like you, Moony. She's practically following the same path."
"Pads," Remus says carefully, not wanting his next words to come across the wrong way, "the same could be said for you and your family."
"But I'm a Gryffindor!" he yells, surprising even himself with his emotional outburst. "I chose a different path! I pushed them away! I did that!"
Silence echoes throughout the nearly empty common room and Remus and James know better than to push the subject any further. They slowly return to their work, and Sirius pushes himself off of the couch before taking the stairs two at a time up to the boys dormitories.
~~~
Potions the next day is a tense affair, made worse when Professor Slughorn announces the date of his next party.
"Members of the Slug Club are welcome to attend my party next Friday evening," he states, smiling kindly at the students, before a serious expression crosses his face. "Formal attire mandatory."
You tilt your head down to hide the smile that tries to escape, before turning to your friends to discuss what you all are going to wear. The class ends soon after and you are surprised to see Sirius waiting for you by the door.
Your friends shoot you weary looks, but you nod, telling them it's okay and that you will catch up with them later. When they all shuffle out, you turn to him and sigh, "To what do I owe this displeasure?"
"Hilarious," he replies in a flat tone, before pushing himself off the wall and walking alongside you. "We're partners for Binns' essay. We have to make some sort of plan for the assignment."
You know he is right, and you curse yourself for not being the first one to reach out. "We are both finished with classes for the day. We can go to the library and find the books we need right now, and then make notes this weekend. Next week, we can meet a few times before it's due on Friday to write and edit the paper."
Sirius seems fine with this plan, and you hate how pleased you feel from his approval. He takes a moment to ponder your idea, running a hand through his long, shiny hair, and you find yourself admiring how it gleams in the sun.
"Okay," he finally says, jolting you from your daydream, "works for me. Let's go."
"That's all?" you ask with surprise. "No jibes?"
But he has already started walking towards the library, his long legs giving him an enormous stride that has you jogging to keep up. "Plenty of time for that."
~~~
You both manage to find several helpful books for your essay fairly quickly, and soon you start flipping through them to mark the relevant sections. When you reach the textbook on Magical Relations throughout History, you find a chapter on notable wizard families and become intrigued. As if in autopilot, you flip to the page with your family name and begin scanning over the names, when Sirius comes up next to you and grabs the book from under your face.
"What's got you so hooked?" he asks, looking at the page you were on.
"Give it here," you command, your voice wavering slightly. He doesn't notice.
"Ah, the y/l/n family!" he exclaims, before diving into the content and listing the most recent wizards in chronological order.
Each name feels like an electric shock and you can feel it getting harder to breathe as your lungs struggle to pull air in. When he starts reading the names of your parents, you rush forward and snatch the book back, snapping it closed.
He looks taken aback and anger shoots through you, replacing the discomfort and embarrassment. "How would you feel if I went through your family history?"
Sirius clenches his jaw, his nose flaring with enmity. "How is that the same? Your family has done vile, awful things, and I bet you can't wait to join them!"
He really thought you were just like them. How could he not see how your family went against the very essence of who you were?
But you didn't have the energy to fight him anymore. "Yeah, you're right. Because you obviously know everything about me."
He shakes his head, rubbing a hand over his face. "What are you on about?"
He looks like a puppy with his bewildered expression and suddenly you can't decide whether you want to punch him or shake him. You settle for a "Whatever, Black" before tossing the book onto the table and stalking out of the library.
Your hair blows behind you as you pass by Sirius, and he finds himself wishing he could reach out and run his fingers through the velvety strands. You were striking when you were angry and it was the most infuriating and confusing mix of emotions he had ever experienced.
~~~
The weekend passes quickly and when Monday arrives, you both work on your halves of the essay in silence. You catch yourself glancing up at Sirius a few times, and you can't help but admire his steely focus on the work at hand. His intellect and work ethic are two of the few things you admire about him, after all.
Your eyes are falling shut when you check the time and see that you've been working for hours. You close your ink pot and stuff your parchment into your bag as you get ready to leave.
You are carefully putting away your quills when you hear Sirius' voice, quiet over the crackle of the fireplace. "Why are you in Slytherin if you don't actually care for your family?"
It was the same question you heard all the time, from every direction. Why are you in Slytherin if you hate your family so much, y/n? No one ever asked why Slytherin was associated with such darkness, when it stood for so much more than that.
Glaring at him, you force the memories down and spit out the first ill-chosen remarks you can muster. "Maybe I do care. Maybe I am exactly what you believe! I don't give a fuck what you think about me, Black, so leave me the hell alone."
You start to leave the room as he retorts, "You disgust me."
A humorless laugh escapes from your mouth and you pause for only a moment before exiting the study room. "Back at you."
Sirius is left stunned, his mouth practically hanging open in shock and confusion. Your words were filled with poison, but your voice had contained something he couldn't quite place. He doesn't allow himself to think about it, instead leaving the study room and heading back to Gryffindor tower to get ready for quidditch practice.
The weather is dreadful, souring Sirius' mood even further, but somehow James is his usual chipper self. They scrimmage for a bit, before James parks himself by the goal posts to chat with Sirius about his latest interactions with Lily.
"She laughed at one of my jokes today," James muses, his tone joyful as he gesticulates wildly, balancing on his broom with irritating ease. "I could listen to her laugh for the rest of my life."
Sirius is only half listening, unable to turn his thoughts away from your earlier outburst. He wished that he could crawl inside your mind and understand everything about you, but that impulse was at war with his righteous desire to distance himself from you at any cost. He's considering his choices when he hears a deep voice yell from across the pitch.
"Oi, Black, Potter, I don't pay you tosspots to just sit around and chat!" Frank Longbottom barks out, squinting through the rain.
"Er, Frank," Sirius hesitantly responds, "you don't pay us at all."
"And your point is...?"
James clears his throat and speaks up before Sirius has the chance to get them into trouble. "Sorry, Longbottom, we were just discussing Saturday's match plan against Hufflepuff."
Frank nods and flies off, forcing James to actually do his job as chaser. Sirius shakes his head vigorously, trying to shake off the rain and his thoughts of you, before resuming his station in front of the goal posts. The rest of practice slogs along, and by the time Frank finally lets the team head back inside, they are all drenched.
Sirius can feel the cold deep in his bones and he sheds off his quidditch gear the moment he enters the boys dormitories. Racing to the shower before James can get back from talking to Frank, he turns the water as hot as it can go and steps under the scalding spray. He audibly sighs as the chill in his veins dissipates, and he leans against the tile as the water cascades over him.
The water also helps melt some of the stress that has seeped into his bones, but it's not enough. Quidditch and school and his family and that damn essay. Everything in his life recently has been building the knot of tension in his gut and he needs to relieve it.
His hand slides down and he palms his length lightly, working it slowly before gripping it in his hand. His cock grows, aching with need, and he starts moving his hand, massaging his shaft with slow strokes. Wet heat zings up his spine, and he leans his head back against the wall, quickening the pace of his movements.
He feels the coil tighten in his abdomen and he rubs his thumb over the tip to bring him closer, but suddenly the pleasure stagnates. He clenches his fist harder, but the wave feels far away, taunting him as he tries and fails to crest it. Sirius groans in frustration, turning around to lean his forehead against the tile. His hand grasps his cock again, but this time a reprehensible thought enters his mind and burrows into his subconscious.
This time it's your hand gripping him instead. He's so desperate for release that he allows himself to give in to the fantasy, and suddenly you're in front of him, taking his length in your slender fingers. Your lips curve into a cheeky smirk and you sink to your knees in front of him as he watches you in awe. He can feel you lick a flat stripe up his shaft and he groans, heat surging through him again. When you finally suck him into your mouth, he thinks he may come on the spot, but he squeezes his eyes shut, trying to prolong the sensation. You swirl your tongue around the head of his cock and he can almost imagine your scent as he thrusts up into his own hand, wishing it was yours instead.
He knows he should stop this — he shouldn't even have allowed himself to begin — but it feels so good. So good that he can't bear to imagine what it would have felt like had it been real.
One final thrust brings him to his release and he gasps into the shower wall, pressing his forearm against the tile to keep himself upright. The moment the pleasure ends and his brain clears of its fog, a waterfall of shame washes over him. Sirius scrubs his body with soap, hoping to rid himself of his guilt, but even after he has washed and dried himself, the feeling remains.
He breathes a sigh of relief when he finds that James has yet to return from talking to Longbottom, and he clambers into his bed, pulling the curtains closed around him. He doesn't emerge from his bed until late the next morning, just in time to rush to his first class.
He thanks the heavens that he doesn't share any classes with you today, and he goes through his day in a daze, not fully focusing on any of his subjects. You, on the other hand, are rampaging through the halls with a reignited enmity. You can't get your last argument with Sirius out of your head, and you've been forcing yourself to push down your fury all day.
By the time you finish your last class of the day, you are heading back to the Slytherin dungeon when you spot Sirius ducking into an empty classroom. After a whole day of tamping down your emotions, just the sight of him makes your cheeks flush with anger. Against your better judgment, you stalk forward and follow him into the room.
Sirius turns back in surprise when he hears you enter, but it quickly turns to exasperation and something that looks like abashment. "What the hell are you doing here? Can no one get some bloody peace and qui—"
"Why do you so easily assume that you know me?" you spit out, your volume a bit louder than you would've liked. "You constantly insist upon inserting yourself in my life, but you don't take the time to even try to understand me!"
His expression suddenly grows darker and he scoffs, "Because I do know you. Our families are the same. We grew up with the same upbringing, and I don't even have to look past my own bloody family tree to find a dozen examples of how that turns out."
He looks so sure of himself that you have to fight off the urge to wrap your hands around his neck and strangle him. Taking a step forward, you can't stop yourself from raising your voice even further. "You're so infuriating! How can anyone stand to be around you?"
Sirius barks out a laugh, taking another step closer, "You're not exactly a cakewalk either, sweetheart."
His last words bring him that much closer to you, and suddenly you can feel the warmth of his breath on your face. You peer up at him hesitantly, frightened by the fact that this proximity to Sirius Black isn't scaring you off. Instead, you almost feel emboldened, and you find yourself leaning in slightly, enjoying the way his breath hitches when the wisps of your hair tickle his chin. You see his eyes flutter closed as he inhales slowly, as if trying to remain still, and you tilt your head back to—
The door creaks open and you both fly apart, but not fast enough. Remus enters slowly, his head peeking inside as his eyes widen with astonishment.
"Oh bugger, sorry," Remus exclaims, turning around to leave the classroom.
"It's fine," Sirius says emphatically, as if he's trying to convince more than just Remus. "Nothing's going on."
You can't stand the awkwardness, so you mutter a quick "gotta go" to Remus, before jetting out the door.
Sirius watches you leave, internally kicking himself for letting you get under his skin like this. He was no stranger to wanting — or being wanted by — women, but this was something different. Something that brought out a longing from within him that he had no hope of understanding.
"Is this why you've been acting so weird recently?" Remus asks, looking at Sirius pointedly. "Because you fancy her or something?"
Sirius flashes him an incredulous look, hoping it's more convincing than it feels to him. "Pff, shut up, Moony."
Remus purses his lips, clearly not believing a word he's saying, but he thankfully lets the subject drop. "Well, anyway, I heard your voice from outside and I thought I'd let you know that James was looking for you. Something about getting to quidditch practice early..."
Sirius groans good-naturedly, secretly excited about the prospect of relieving his frustration through a nice scrimmage. Grabbing his book bag, he follows Remus out of the classroom and heads down to the quidditch pitch.
~~~
Sirius doesn't know what to think about you anymore, and he is only more confused when he hears your voice in a side corridor on the way to Transfiguration the next day. He stays hidden around the corner, but manages to catch the end of your conversation with Snape.
"Why do you get off on hurting people, Severus?" you ask, your voice dripping with venom. "You're a fucking blood purist who's tarnishing the Slytherin name with your outdated and disgusting ideologies."
"Don't bother yourself with my so-called ideologies, y/n," he sneers, and Sirius pulls his wand out in case there's an altercation.
You scoff and Sirius is surprised at the pride he feels at the sight of you standing up to Snape. "Slytherin stands for cleverness and ambition, not for ruthlessness and cruelty. You and your lot have given us an awful reputation just for existing and I'm bloody tired of seeing you all prancing around these halls like you care about what it means to be here!"
Sirius hears the swish of your robes, and he backs up behind a gargoyle statue right before you turn the corner and strut past him. A warmth fills his chest and he swallows thickly, trying to place what he's feeling. He saw a different person in you everyday and each time he spoke to you, he never knew what he was getting himself into. You were the least predictable person he had ever met, and god help him, he liked that about you.
The rest of your essay work sessions occur in a similar fashion to the first, and Sirius doesn't mention what he heard. You are more than content working in silence, but something feels off between the two of you, and you hate how much you miss the way it used to be. The banter and the jibes and the rivalry.
Peeking up at him through your loosely hanging hair, you see him chewing the back of his quill, his brow furrowed tightly into a small 'v'. Curling your hand into a fist, you resist the urge to press your fingers into the worry lines on his forehead and smooth them out. He really was beautiful when he worked, his eyes burning with focus and determination. Pursing your lips, you push the thought away and continue writing the last few paragraphs of your paper.
~~~
The day of Slughorn's party arrives quickly and you are frantically getting ready with your friends after turning in your part of the essay for Binns' class. You were relieved to be done with the project, but it would be remiss to say that you didn't miss seeing Sirius outside of class hours. You finish up your makeup and adjust the thin straps of your black, floor-length gown, before pulling on your shawl and heading out.
In the Gryffindor boys' dormitories, Sirius and Remus are wrestling their ties on, with James flopped on his bed, timing them to see who can tie theirs first. Remus wins by a hair, and Sirius plops down next to James, a playful frown on his face.
"Get up, you tosser," James laughs, pushing Sirius off the bed. "You'll wrinkle your suit."
"This is why we keep you around, Prongs," Sirius grins, smoothing his shirt down before patting Remus on the back. "So that you can teach us the ways of your posh upbringing."
"Fuck you," James replies, a smile creeping onto his face. "Anyway, you lot better head to the party. Don't want to be too late."
"But don't forget, James," Remus mocks, grinning pointedly at Sirius, "the party doesn't begin until Padfoot arrives!"
"Right you are," Sirius hoots, before saying a quick goodbye to Peter and pulling Remus through the door with him.
Somehow, they are still in the first batch of people to arrive, and they occupy themselves by grabbing champagne flutes from the passing waiters.
"Bit stuffy, isn't it?" Remus mutters, taking a sip from his glass.
Sirius nods, downing the whole glass before grabbing another flute. "We'll chat up some of the professors then head out early."
"Works for me."
Remus starts scanning the room to see if he can spot Madam Pince, and just as Sirius brings the champagne to his lips, he sees you walk in.
His hand freezes in mid-air and he can't take his eyes off of you no matter how hard he tries to look away. You look ravishing in a long, black gown and your hair cascades down your back in a gleaming waterfall. Just when Sirius starts to regain the mobility of his hand, you slide off your shawl and the sharp curves of your collarbone shimmer under the candlelight.
"Have fun with that," Remus whispers, his tone laced with humor, before patting him on the back and walking off to speak with Professor Slughorn.
You don't notice him at first, but after you hand your shawl to someone working by the door, you peer up to see Sirius Black staring at you, his mouth slightly agape. When he sees you looking back at him, he looks at the ceiling and swallows a large gulp of champagne. You know something is different between you two, but there was no way you were going to be the first to address it. Spotting one of your friends from class, you head over to join their conversation.
Sirius had always known you were beautiful but he had never let himself truly see it before tonight. Before you had winced at the sight of your family's atrocities, and stood up to Snape when he was being exactly who Sirius thought you were. He had been so wrong all this time.
Spotting you across the room, he tightens his tie and pushes himself off of the counter he was leaning against. Head held high, he saunters over to where you are laughing with your friends and stops right in front of you. You look up at him in shock, which quickly turns to uneasiness. "What do you want, Black?"
He looks you straight in the eyes, his attention refusing to waver, as he says simply, "Dance with me."
Your expression is filled with skepticism and something else he can't decipher, but to his surprise, you take his hand. He pulls you up from your seat and leads you to the other side of the room, where a quartet is playing music. The song they are playing is a bit fast-paced for slow dancing, but when Sirius shoots them a look, they immediately transition into a slower melody.
"Impressive," you say jokingly, acutely noticing the moment his hand moves to rest on your waist.
He smiles softly and you both dance in silence until Sirius turns his gaze back to you, piercing you with his eyes in a way that always got you flustered.
"Thank heavens that essay is over," he states, his lips curving slightly. "I missed our little class rivalry."
You nod slowly, relieved that he is voicing exactly what you've been feeling. "It's not as fun when we're on the same side."
He's silent again for a few moments, before he pulls you a bit closer in his arms and scrutinizes your face in an annoyingly charming way. "But we are, aren't we? On the same side."
His statement catches you by surprise, you don't know what to say. You can't seem to break the eye contact you've been sharing and heat travels down your spine at his languid gaze. You almost wish you could go back to when he didn't look too hard into your life, but a part of you knows that this is a good different.
Before you can lose your nerve, you sigh and whisper, "Yes...we are."
You can feel your cheeks flush with heat, but you don't want to take your eyes away from him, afraid that if you look away, you will lose this connection that has somehow developed in the midst of your silent war. You instead choose to focus on how long his eyelashes are, practically casting shadows on his cheekbones as he gazes down at you.
Sirius notices the moment your skin begins to flush and he has to tighten his grip on your waist to keep his breath steady. Every point of contact between the two of you burns with unbridled possibility, and his usual confidence wavers as he fixates on the pink spreading across your cheeks. He can't imagine how you couldn't know the effect you have on him, and he slowly pulls you in closer to gauge your reaction.
You gasp slightly when your chest presses against his, and for a second, you completely forget that you are supposed to be dancing. Your sudden pause disrupts Sirius' rhythm and before you can readjust, he is inches away from you, his chest heaving.
"Let's get out of here," Sirius whispers, his voice husky.
You're so caught off guard that you lose the ability to speak, opting for a quick nod that ignites something in his eyes. He slips a hand behind your lower back and leads you off the dance floor, guiding you into the hallway. When he finds an isolated stairwell, you finally regain your bearings and press him against the stone wall, reveling in the sudden burst of courage. Sirius looks back at you mischievously, and you immediately kiss the smirk off of his face.
You hear him mutter a quick invisibility charm under his breath and you can't help but be vexed that he thought of it faster than you did. When you part his lips with your tongue, he groans under his breath, and the sound sends heat rushing down your abdomen. Filled with a newfound confidence, you bite his lip teasingly, before yanking on his tie to loosen it.
"Holy shit," Sirius exhales, leaning back against the wall while you unbutton his shirt, completely letting you have your way with him. Ever since that night in the showers, he has imagined this moment incessantly, but something told him that the real thing was about to me infinitely better.
You grip his lapels, trying to pull him closer and closer, and he obliges, wrapping his arm around your body as he lifts you to sit on the ledge beside him. His lips are so much softer than you could've imagined, and he presses feverish kisses along your jaw, setting you instantly ablaze. This moment is everything you wanted it to be and you feel heat pool in your belly as his hands begin to ride down, shifting the hem of your dress higher.
The image of the two of you here, together, is so wild and unexpected that you almost can't believe it's even happening. You must have spoken out loud, because Sirius smirks against your skin and says, "What? You can't believe you're alone in a stairwell with the top of your class?"
You pull back immediately, sputtering, "Wha- what? Top of the class, my ass!" when you see a grin cross Sirius' face.
"What?" you ask, your mouth scrunching into a small pout.
"You're never gonna stop arguing with me, are you?"
You press your lips together, unsure of what he's getting at, "...No."
His grins widens and he pulls you forward into another searing kiss. "Good."
Your chest bubbles with satisfaction that quickly turns primal when Sirius starts bunching up your gown. He hikes up your dress slowly, allowing you plenty of time to change your mind; when you don't, he slides your panties to the side and enters you swiftly with a lithe finger.
You gasp at the contact, your back arching into his body, and he can't help the grin that crosses his face at your response. Just the feeling of your warm heat makes his pants tighten with desire, and he has to clutch the silky material of your dress to keep himself from reaching down and undoing his belt buckle. You look so beautiful under him, and he wishes he could commit this image to his memory forever.
You lean your head back against the cool stained glass behind you, and Sirius dips down to run his tongue up the smooth expanse of your exposed neck. Just when the heat is almost too much, he sucks the skin on your pulse point, sending shock waves of pleasure coursing through you. He adds another finger and you cry out in ecstasy, grabbing onto his open shirt for some sort of stability. The motion of his fingers combined with the warmth of his lips brings you so close, but right when you are about to feel the release, he pulls his fingers out.
"Fuck," you exclaim, your eyes widening in disbelief. "I was so close!"
Sirius ignores you, tugging his pants down quickly and unsheathing his thick shaft. "You're not coming unless it's on my cock."
A ferocious desire courses through you and he swears he has died and gone to heaven when he sees how your eyes sparkle with lust. You nod immediately, and he yanks your panties off fully before lining himself up with your entrance. You brace yourself, but it's not enough to prepare you for the feeling of his hard cock splitting you open. You can feel every inch of him as he pushes into you, refusing to stop until he's fully seated within you.
Sirius can't believe how good you feel around him, and he forces himself to allow you a second to adjust before he starts moving. As soon as he begins thrusting into you, white hot pleasure curls up your spine, wrenching out moan after moan from deep inside your throat. You had thought about this moment so many times, but nothing could compare to this. This connection you felt with him that was slowly setting you ablaze.
The sight of you beneath him triggers an animalistic response, and Sirius suddenly has the intense desire to mark your pristine skin. He wants to see the column of your throat littered with bruises to show the world that you had been his.
Sirius brings his hand down, his fingers splaying across your throat, before he tightens them around your neck. Your eyes widen with surprise that quickly turns to hunger, and he squeezes until he can feel your pulse beneath his fingertips. Just when it starts to become too much, he loosens his hold and tilts your head back, lifting your body up to meet his. The change in angle has him hitting the perfect spot deep inside of you, and your eyes roll back from bliss.
You are already gasping with pleasure before he begins nipping at the skin behind your ear, slowly making him way down your neck. You know the marks will be hard to hide, but you can't bring yourself to care. Soon the knot of pressure in your abdomen starts tightening and you know you're getting close, so you reach your hand down to touch yourself.
Sirius' thrusts start to falter a bit as he gets closer to the edge, but he can feel your walls closing in around him, so he quickens his movements. The spicy scent of your perfume turns his brain fuzzy and he bites down on the hollow of your collarbone as another pang of possessiveness washes over him. The sensation sends you flying over the edge and the feeling of you tightening around him brings him to his release shortly after.
When you finally come down from the high, you are both out of breath, your chests heaving. You immediately start looking for your panties, and Sirius pulls his shirt back over his shoulders, buttoning up his pants. You are about to turn away when Sirius reaches over to cup your cheek, bringing you up to face him again.
"You're beautiful," he mutters, his thumb absently stroking your jaw as he looks at you with a familiar glint in his eyes. "I was so wrong about you, and if only I had known—"
"Then what?" you ask, your expression turning into one of disbelief, yet longing. "Then we could have been together? Come on, Black, you know we never would've worked out."
You say the last words with a small smile, which Sirius eventually returns. "Yeah, I guess you're right. You never would've been able to keep up with me anyways."
"Wha-" you sputter, "excuse me?"
But Sirius is already laughing. You're so incredulous that you don't realize what he is doing until he pulls you forward into a quick kiss before whispering, "See you in class, y/n."
fred weasley x slytherin!reader, pureblood!reader, platonic!sirius black x reader, hurt/comfort, angst, fluff, swearing
sirius black ensuring fred weasley doesn't make the same mistakes he saw many war-stricken kids make
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
there’d been a cruel edge to his words that he hadn’t quite meant.
fred’s scathing indictment of your family wasn’t any different to the things you usually said about your kin, and it didn’t bother you for others to agree. but to be part of that perception was probably your worst fear.
you’d been so excited turning up at the doorstep of grimmauld place, suitcase in hand, bright beam gracing your face.
fred had frowned. he’d been ignoring the way your smile made him feel for a long time.
“why are we having death-eaters round for christmas dinner?”
molly had scolded her son then, “george! i mean, fred!”
he’d rolled his eyes, mumbling, “might as well get her whole family out and kill some muggles for the christmas spirit.”
it was the association. your family were one way, you must be too.
maybe that’s how it was for the weasleys, at least four generations of ginger gryffindors shooting for the stars in their respective fields. ministry, dragons, pranks, quidditch.
maybe that’s how it looked for you, at least four generations of slytherins serving whichever tyrannical supremacist reigned at the time.
you found a lot of your time was spent trying to convince people that wasn’t you. but gina lomotey, whose dad had once punched professor snape, didn’t have to walk around assuring people she didn’t attack teachers. and kosi berry, whose parents had a short lived music career, never had to explain she had no interest in singing.
reene west’s mum hijacked a broom race, ford green’s dad did a stint in muggle prison, carson denny’s eldest brother lived full time in st mungos due to an unhealthy obsession with lions.
none of them faced half the crap you did for their bloodlines.
sirius had come to see you, heard you vent about this once again.
“and it’s almost like... i mean i’m not saying you had it easier, you didn’t, it was worse for you in different ways. but, it’s like i have to work so hard to prove i don’t have my families prejudice, because i am a slytherin. you had the argument of a different house to help your case, in school anyway. but i wear the same colour robes my family did, so people never believe me.”
somehow your feelings for fred were brought to the surface of the conversation. maybe that’s what made it harder.
“i’m so tired of having to make them believe me. i’m not a bad person.”
so you didn’t grovel, and try to prove your innocence, because you were well and truly tired of being pre-judged. it wasn’t as if the two of you met on a battlefield. sirius had invited you here. dumbledore approved, he trusted you. you’d never given fred a reason to dislike you.
the boy in question, banished to the other side of the house by his own anger (and shame), was glowering at a wall.
his mum told him his response had been impolite. george told him he was smack out of line.
he knew they were right.
especially when sirius, a man fred had got on with well, had knocked on the door, greeting him with a slight scowl.
“i want you to apologize.”
no beating around the bush.
“i’m not sorry.” lie. you sound like a petulant child.
“yes you are.”
fred blinked.
“i am old enough to recognize the feelings of teenagers. i spent seven years watching my friends fall in and out and in again with love. i watched james pine for lily, i watched them fight. i watched marlene and dorcas take five years to get over their differences.”
fred jested, "sounds creepy.”
sirius smiled, but continued his story, “do you know what marlene and dorcas’ main difference was?"
he shrugged.
“marlene was a gryffindor, dorcas a slytherin, and it took them a good fraction of their lives to move past that. they died young. they spent more time denying their feelings for a school, house rivarly, than the time they got to spend loving each other. we’re approaching a war again, kid. don’t repeat their mistakes. take it from me.”
fred remained uncharacteristically silent for a few minutes, and although it was unsettling, sirius stayed. it was clear the boy had questions.
“your family were death-eaters.”
sirius nodded.
“but they rejected you, for being in the wrong house.”
“correct.”
“if... you’d been a slytherin, and they accepted you... would you have rebelled? or would you have become a death-eater.”
sirius shrugged, “i know why you’re asking, but i have no answer for you. if i was in a different house, i would have a different character, and any alternate character would mean very different decisions. all i can tell you is i know her. you don’t, yet. she is not her bloodline. she's cunning, and ambitious, but her ambition is not to participate in genocide. talk to her. you might be surprised at what you find.”
fred had made up his mind. sirius was right, and he wanted to know you. he wanted to see your stupidly pretty smile, he wanted to cause it, and he wanted to know your favourite things. he wanted to know what made you feel, what made you sleep. he wanted to talk to you.
which proved incessantly difficult, because you were avoiding him like dragonpox. every once in a while, he would catch your eye and you'd blink rapidly before looking away, fiddling with your sleeves.
christmas day rolled around a few days on, and fred still had yet to successfully get you alone. as everyone begun unwrapping their presents, he was only staring at you, waiting for a reaction, hoping you'd know the unlabelled gift was from him.
you did, eyes widening and shooting up to find him in the room, visibly taken aback.
“do you like it?” he mouthed, tilting his head as the firm grip of insecurity tightened his chest.
with your lips slightly parted in surprise, you nodded your head. the same feeling lay at the base of your heart, wondering if it was going to turn out to be a prank.
he jerked his chin towards the kitchen, question in his eyes, and tried to not take your hesitation to heart. especially as you stood up and walked his line of sight. when he was sure nobody else was paying attention, he followed you.
“hey...” he rubbed the back of his neck, the awkwardness between you heavy in the air.
but fred was fred and he still kept eye contact, a steady voice, an easy stance.
“i’m sorry.”
you shrug, “okay.”
the word is uttered so nonchalantly, as though your stomach wasn’t erupting with unruly butterflies.
“do you... could you forgive me?”
“maybe. if you mean it.”
he nodded, “i do. i’d like to know you, actually know you, not think i do.”
“i’d like that.”
Sebastian Sallow x fem!slytherin!reader. Jealous!Sebastian
Word Count: 2440
Sebastian is in love with you, entirely, even though he’s too scared to admit it to you. A blind act of jealousy threatens your friendship, and possibly even more with him.
REQUESTS ARE OPEN! Send me anything!
This is my first post, please be gentle, and let me know how you feel in my inbox. Even if you normally just scroll through and read, a like or anon message would encourage me to keep going.
Ten. Ten Months. It had been ten excruciating long lonely months since Sebastian had last seen or heard from her. He sat in the Slytherin common room in front of the fireplace, leg bouncing for what seemed like hours at this point. When would you come back? Where had you been? What had he done to deserve this punishment? Sebastian idly twirled his wand in his fingers as the orange and yellow shadows of the fire bounced across his face, quite frankly not knowing what to do with himself.
“Sebastian?!” He quickly raised his head towards the direction of the voice. There y/n stood, eyebrows raised in concern. “Did you not hear me that entire time? Were you in dreamland again?” Y/n laughed, “Seems as if I can’t go to the bathroom for 5 minutes without you knowing what to do with yourself.” Sebastian groaned and rolled his eyes, sliding back in his seat, legs splayed out like he owned the entire couch. “Can’t a man sit in his own common room without being pestered?” He glared at her, following her figure as she came closer to him.
She was right. She was completely right. But he couldn’t let her know that. Ever since he laid eyes on her he had been entranced. Every minute, no, every second of his day was spent thinking of her. He even dreamed of her. He honestly hated it. What had she done to claim the throne in his mind? She smirked at him, extending her hand, offering to pull him up off the couch. His heart skipped a beat. Maybe, it was the view of her towering over him, hand extended to help him up on the first day in Defense Against the Dark Arts when she had absolutely demolished him in her first ever duel. Maybe, it was her in the caves, brows furrowed in concern, sweat dripping down her forehead, blood and various spider parts splattered on her robes, hand extended to help him up after saving his life from savage and unruly creatures. Maybe, it was how her hair stuck to her face in battle, glued to her skin by the sweat and dried blood from the splatters of her victims, lips parted slightly when she panted for air, yet again extending her hand out to h-
“Sebastian!” He snapped back to reality. “What?!” He furrowed his brows at her. Couldn’t she see he was busy thinking about…particularly important things? He scowled at himself, embarrassed by his internal thoughts. “Are you going to get up or not? I don’t mind leaving you here if you’d rather wallow in self pity than get to our class on time.” He rolled his eyes and grabbed her hand, allowing her to pull him up. He rolled his eyes at her and smirked, still holding onto her hand. “You know, I’m a big boy. I can get up myself.” She raised an eyebrow, “Yet we end up in this exact position at least 2 times week, and you accept my help every time.” The smirk on her face was rightfully earned. She slipped her hand out of his, earning a longing huff from him, unnoticed by her of course. He sighed in defeat, knowing she was completely oblivious to the hold she had on him, and bent down to collect his things. By the time he had stood back up and slung his back over his shoulder, she was halfway up the stairs. “Coming Sallow?” She giggled, her laugh disappeared as she ran up the stairs, skipping 2 at a time. “Who in their right mind would be in this much of a hurry to get to potions out of all classes.” He rolled his eyes, and followed her up the stair at a steady space.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
She hadn’t waited for him. She continued to class with the same pace as she took up the stairs. She hadn’t been late to a class yet, despite her various adventures around the castle, and she wasn’t going to be late now. Sebastian had been distant recently. The last week or so he had seemed to always be stuck in his own head. She wondered if something had happened to make him upset, but she was with him almost every day and honestly couldn’t think of one thing that had happened that would make him so distracted all of the time. One day he was completely normal, his usual cocky charming self. The next, he seemed withdrawn and almost nervous to even speak to her, cheeks reddening at the smallest of actions she took towards him. She figured he was just frustrated or dealing with something personal from home. She wouldn’t push it, or even ask. She knew how he liked to deal with his family problems in private.
She pushed open the door to potions, immediately being greeted by a rush of blond curls, freckles, and red robes. “Y/n! I’ve been waiting for you!” Without warning he grabbed her arm and rushed her over to his station. He looked around quickly as if he was making sure the coast was clear. Noticing Professor Sharp had not yet made his way to the classroom, he then leaned in and whispered so no lingering early students would hear. “Listen, I know last time I….” He looked down after seeing her glare, choosing to change his words “we…” He smiled warmly, returned by a tilt of the head with furrowed brows by her “got in trouble..” You raised an eyebrow at him, crossing your arms. You knew where this was going. “But?” You asked, “What do you need me to steal for you today, Weasley?” Garreth chuckled, pleased you weren’t still angry with him over last time. He had profusely apologized and promised next time he would ensure no one got caught, whilst you promptly informed him there would be no next time, yet he knew you were always up for a thrill. Slytherins love to break the rules, you know, with their stereotypical disrespect of authority, and he knew that and loved to pull his dear friend into his shenanigans. When he could get her away from Sebastian, that is. He knew exactly how Slytherin’s minds worked and would use that to his favor. “Nothing! Why would you even assume-“ He stopped talking, her skeptical knowing gaze bored into his head. He chose, again to change his words. “Okay, okay. You know me better than I think you do. You got me.” You continued to stare at him, arms crossed, wishing he would just tell her already. “I only need another Fwooper feather! That’s all!” You threw your arms up in defeat. “Garreth, are you serious? Is this just a complete repeat of last time?! Why can’t you get our own damned Fwooper feather, maybe raise one of your own since you need them all the time!” Exasperated, you huffed at him.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Once Sebastian noticed you were long gone, he figured he wouldn’t actually catch up to you until you got to class, he knew how you were so he decided to wait for Ominis outside the common room. He didn’t have the energy to sprint to class just to be early like you did. Ominis eventually found his way out the common room, and the two old friends chatted idly all the way to class about nothing particularly important. They eventually came upon their destination. Sebastian strode into the classroom, heading towards his station, when he noticed you weren’t at yours. (It was next to his, of course.) The second he heard your voice, he snapped his head towards you, seeing your back turned towards him, with Weasley out of all people. “Garreth, we can’t get caught again.” Sebastian furrowed his eyebrows. What did she mean by that? Get caught? Again?! He stood with his hands on his station, weight distributed against his desk, slightly lent over, daggers pointed in Garreth’s direction. He watched as Garreth was leaning towards you, hand situated on his station settled next to your waist looking down at you, keeping intense eye contact. He was entirely too close to you for Sebastian’s liking. “We won’t get caught again, besides, you know how fun it was sneaking around, y/n.” Garreth smirked, and Sebastian saw red. What the hell did he mean by that? Within a few split seconds and some heavy stomps, Sebastian towered directly behind y/n. Staring daggers into Garreth’s eyes over her head. Garreth quickly glanced up from her eyes, and into Sebastian’s. His eyes went wide, and he took a couple steps away from her, straightening his posture as if he was never that close to y/n to begin with. Garreth immediately realized how risqué the conversation had sounded out of context, and everyone, and I mean everyone, knew how Sebastian felt about her, even if neither of the two in question fully realized. Garreth thought she was gorgeous, adventurous, and insanely interesting. Who wouldn’t? But, Garreth knew where he stood in regards to their friendship and felt as if he was always entirely respectful of you. He knew in Sebastian’s eyes now, there was no way he’d see him as the respectful cheerful Gryffindor friend of y/n’s, but competition. Besides, Garreth’s specialty was potions, not dueling like Sebastian. He wanted nothing to do with the aftermath of Sebastian’s jealousy induced rage.
Confused from his change of demeanor, y/n quickly turned around to see what had caused Garreth’s reaction. She was met with the face of a very red-in-the-face, infuriated Sebastian. “What’s going on over here? Sneaking around with Weasley are we, y/n?” “What?” She looked up at him in wild bewilderment, not sure what he could possibly be mad about. Its not as if Sebastian hadn’t broken the rules with y/n countless times. “Sebastian, calm down please. Its not as you think it to be.” Garreth held both his hands out defensively. Garreth knew exactly what was going on, while y/n didn’t realize when Sebastian had entered and what he had heard. “Then what the hell is it, Garreth?” Garreth, eyes wide, didn’t know what to say without telling on himself. He didn’t entirely want everyone knowing that he wanted to steal more supplies, especially with the help of y/n, but on the other hand he definitely didn’t want to be at the end of wand held by a furious Sebastian. Suddenly, Sebastian felt a hand on his shoulder, pulling him back slightly. “Sebastian…calm down.” “Not now, Ominis.” Sebastian shrugged Ominis’ hand off his shoulder and walked straight forward, gently pushing y/n out his way and placing himself between the two.  Ominis sighed, knowing exactly what was about to transpire. He could help calm his friend down in certain situations, but he knew this time he’d be of no help, and poor Garreth Weasley would have to deal on his own.
“What’s wrong with you Sebastian? Don’t you realize you don’t own me?! I can make my own decisions with you inserting yourself!” Sebastian snapped his head from Garreth back to you. “What are you going on about? I’m trying to protect you from being taken advantage of, can’t you see that?! You stared blankly at him, not understanding where he’s coming from at all. Garreth was only asking you to take some supplies for him, Sebastian was acting as if Garreth asked her to kill someone for him! “Are you serious? You see nothing wrong with this?” He stared back her. Then he realized, their conversation was completely consensual. ‘Again’ meant that they had done it before. She had wanted to. His view flashed red again, no. It was maroon. Then, he decided to speak without thinking. “You couldn’t possibly be sleeping around with Garreth fucking Weasley out of all people can you?! I didn’t take you as the type to do things of that sort with just about anybody” Y/n’s face twisted at the accusation. Everything clicked in place. Sebastian had no idea they were talking about potions supplies, and Sebastian was never informed of the time her and Garreth had gotten in trouble by Professor Sharp. There was no way he would even assume the actual nature of the conversation, simply because he was unaware. Regardless, the accusation was incredibly insulting to her. Why should he be concerned with who she’s sleeping with at all? He isn’t the boss of her! She couldn’t believe her ears. “First of all, I’m not sleeping with anyone Sebastian. Second of all, it wouldn’t be any of your damned business if I was! Maybe before sticking your nose in other’s business and making wildly false accusations you should know what they’re even talking about to begin with! Typical man, speaking before thinking.” She turned around, pushing through Ominis and made her way out the classroom.
Sebastian slowly turned and glanced towards Garreth, who was sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. Garreth smiled cheekily. “Looks like you’re in trouble, bud.” “Don’t call me bud, Weasley.” Sebastian started after you, then stopped and turned around again just to glare at Garreth. Garreth gulped and sat down at his station, deciding to stay out of it. Sebastian turned around again, and ran into a hard surface, which he realized to be Ominis. “Leave her be. You’re emotional and all you’re going to do is upset her more by speaking out of turn. Give her time and go speak to her after class.” Sebastian glared at Ominis, unbeknownst to him of course, but he knew he was right. You needed time. Sebastian sighed, trying to calm himself down. He knew what he said to you was rash and insanely rude. He wanted nothing more than to salvage your friendship with him, and knew he owed you something he normally never gave to anyone.
He owed you an apology.
poly!marauders x feisty, fem, Slytherin!reader
CW: werewolf prejudice, making fun of possible birth defects due to Pureblood's being terribly inbred, swearing
Remus felt that generally, he was a very understanding person. And not just in a compassionate way, but also in a sense that he just understands a lot of things.
He understands Sirius’ need to defy his family whilst simultaneously looking after his brother as if his life depended on it.
He understands James’ need to make sure everyone around him feels as loved as humanly possible, even if it’s at his own expense.
He understands that Gryffindor’s hate Slytherin’s, but he also understands that not all Slytherin’s are horrible, prejudiced racists.
He understands everyone makes fun of Hufflepuffs for being soft and emotional, but he also understands that Hufflepuffs can be some of the most heartless, ruthless friends you can have.
What Remus has had a hard time understanding, however, was his boyfriends’ sudden interest in you.
Remus could admit that you were quite attractive, but you were also sort of…terrifying?
“What have you boys done?” Lily murmured in quiet horror (quiet awe if you asked James).
“We pranked Slytherin!” Sirius said jovially, as if Lily had somehow missed that key piece of information.
“I can see that, Sirius.” She said like one might speak to a small child who was quite dumb. “But on portrait day?”
Sirius smiled smugly as he watched Slytherin’s enter the Great Hall for their school portraits. As they passed through the door, they were unknowingly walking under a charmed mistletoe (which was very difficult to find this time of year, thanks James very much) which turned their green and silver robes and ties to a beautiful red and gold.
The best part is some students still hadn’t noticed yet, and another amazing part was that those who had noticed couldn’t figure out how to turn it back.
“Mr. Black, Mr. Potter, Mr. Pettigrew, and Mr. Lupin. I suppose the four of you have no idea who may be behind this prank?” Professor McGonagall challenged as she looked down her nose at them sitting at the Gryffindor table.
Sirius smirked as he responded “Why, not a clue Minnie. But I’ll keep my eye out and let you know if I see any mischief makers.”
McGonagall let out a long suffering sigh as she took five points from Gryffindor for improper address of a professor.
“You rotten dugbogs.” Remus heard you screech before he saw you. He had the good sense to cringe as you stormed up to their table whilst Sirius and James grinned enthusiastically.
“Why hello Y/N, my beautiful angel.” James greeted as Sirius let out a sultry “Don’t you just look smashing in red.” Accompanied by a wink.
“I don’t know what you sods have done, and quite frankly, I don’t care about the rest of them; but you will fix this.” You spat angrily gesturing to your faux Gryffindor uniform.
“But that would be such a crime, dollface.” Sirius lamented.
“You can’t expect us to mess with perfection.” James added.
You shot your hand out and grabbed James’ collar, pulling his face to yours until your noses were nearly touching.
“I swear to Salazar himself, Potter, if you do not change my robes back, I will cut your dick off and charm it to your forehead so you walk around looking like a limp-dick unicorn. Change. It. Back.”
Your voice was low and threatening, and Peter actually gulped as he hid behind Remus. But looking at James’ face pressed up to yours, you would have thought you had just serenaded him with the greatest love song known to man.
“You have such beautiful eyes.” He murmured in awe. Remus was certain he could see steam forming behind said beautiful eyes, but before it could shoot out of your ears, Sirius came to your rescue.
“Very right, Prongs. She does have beautiful eyes. Unfortunately, I believe her usual green does compliment them better than the red.” Sirius said lasciviously as he cast the counter charm to return your robes to their rightful colour.
You looked down at your form before looking back at the boys skeptically. You seemed only then to realize you were still holding onto James’ collar like a vice and dropped it. Remus almost chuckled at the look of loss that crossed James’ face.
“Right.” You said and cleared your throat, backing away from them as if you weren't fully trusting what just happened. “Thank you.”
Sirius’ head actually reared back in surprise at your thanks and James beamed.
“Anytime angel, truly.”
James’ pet name seemed to snap you out of whatever trance you’d been in as you narrowed your eyes at him. “Don’t call me that.”
“Terribly sorry, my love.” He relented.
You groaned in exasperation and carried on towards the Slytherin table.
“Isn’t she lovely?” James whispered in awe, eyes still glued to your form as you bodily shoved Evan Rosier out of what Remus could only assume you had dubbed as your seat at the Slytherin table and sat down.
“Try bloody terrifying.” Peter shivered in horror as he finally extricated himself from behind Remus.
“Oi! Don’t talk about our future missus that way, Wormy.” Sirius squawked and swatted at the poor sod with his copy of the Daily Prophet.
“Is he wrong, though?” Remus asked as he let out his own breath of relief.
“Don ‘t worry moons,” James murmured into Remus’ cheek as he pressed his nose into the werewolf’s hair line. “She’ll win you over soon.”
Remus wasn’t so sure.
You were the only Slytherin photographed in proper uniform that day.
Tumblr media
A few weeks later found Remus sitting horrifyingly uncomfortable in Defense Against the Dark Arts as they moved on to the unit featuring Werewolves.
James sat on his right, and though the shaking of his knee under the table gave away his nerves, he spent the entire class rubbing soothing circles along the back of Remus’ hand with his thumb.
Sirius, sitting on Remus’ left, was incredibly stiff and clearly poised to fight if given the chance which did nothing to ease Remus’ discomfort. It also didn’t help that they shared this period with the 6th and 7th year Slytherin’s.
He just wanted this day to be over.
“Why are we even talking about this?” Mulciber sneered, interrupting the professor as they discussed elements of the Wolfsbane potion.
“What is your question, Mr. Mulciber?” The professor drawled out in a bored tone.
“Why bother discussing werewolves? The lot of them should be culled anyway; euthanize them on site for all I care.” He spat, earning snickers from Avery, Goyle, and Snape.
Sirius sucked in a breath in preparation of a verbal (and possibly physical, should he be so lucky) spar when Remus dug his nails into Sirius’ thigh. “Please, Pads.” He begged quietly; voice taught with emotions.
Sirius let out a pained sigh and leaned back further into his chair.
“Funny, Mulciber.” A bored tone commented, “I was just thinking the same about you and your lot.”
Remus, James, and Sirius all turned to see the majority of the eyes in the room already on you, though you never bothered lifting your head from your textbook.
“Care to repeat that, L/N?” Mulciber sneered, sitting up in his chair as if ready to lunge at you if necessary.
You lifted your bored gaze from your book and stared at him head on. “Do I need to repeat myself, Mulciber? Mummy and daddy kept it too close in the family tree, huh?” You murmured in faux sympathy. “I was just thinking, most of the Sacred Twenty-Eight ought to be culled. That would save the wizarding world a whole lot of trouble.”
“How dare you compare me to some filthy half-breed. My family is royalty compared to those disgusting creatures.” Avery shouted.
“The only one acting like a disgusting creature here is the likes of you tossers.” You shouted back.
“Alright.” The professor tried (not very hard, albeit) to quell the quickly spiralling discussion.
“I could hardly look at myself in a mirror if I’d been tainted with a curse like lycanthropy.” Snape sneered, pointedly facing the Marauders across the room. Sirius burned with shame and protectiveness, being the reason Snape knew Remus’ secret and the overwhelming need to defend his lover. Remus took that moment to dig his nails into Sirius' thigh again, pinning him to his seat.
“Are you sure, Snape? Are you sure you wouldn’t rather live a life with lycanthropy than have to look at that mug of yours in the mirror every day.” You drawled.
“You insolent little bitch.”
“Hey!” James finally shouted from across the room, far more stern than Remus can ever remember seeing the boy. But you carried on, completely undeterred.
“I’d bet ten thousand galleons that not one werewolf ever asked to be a werewolf, yet you wake up each and every morning actively choosing to be the ugliest, most hateful, vile, disgusting beasts known to mankind. That is what is despicable. That is what should be euthanized on site.” Your voice grew louder and louder with each word until you were standing behind your desk and punctuating each word with a slam of your fist against the table in front of you.
“Alright, that’s enough.” The professor finally called; tone booming across the lecture hall intoning no nonsense.
“Mr. Mulciber, Mr. Snape, and Miss. L/N. Detention with me this evening.”
The Slytherin boys all scoffed and cursed under their breath whilst you offered a bored shrug of your shoulders, returning to your textbook as though this was just a run of the mill day for you.
The boys had been absolutely right; you just won over the affections of one Remus John Lupin.
In a Week - send a character + au and I'll write a blurb for it (like vampire!Eddie, bodyguard!Sirius, etc.)
I'm not picky, can it be a jealous!fic with either poly!marauders or sirius or hell even peter parker????
Lol I’m not sure this really counts as an au but sure! I imagine Sirius Black and his Slytherin babe aren’t exclusive just yet, so I decided to use your request as an excuse to write him being a bit upset about that, thanks honey!
join the party
Sirius Black x Slytherin!reader ♡ 950 words
Sirius doesn’t know why he’d talked his friends into coming to this stupid party in the first place. James is bickering with half of the Slytherin quidditch team, Remus is just emanating annoyance, and Sirius is watching you over the rim of his cup as you endeavor to swab the back of some seventh-year’s throat with your tongue.
He’d come to see you, obviously, but you don’t even know he’s here, turned away from him where you’ve backed the Slytherin boy up against the wall. Sirius knows it’s a bad idea, but he doesn’t try to halt the natural course of his thoughts; he wonders if this bloke is biting your bottom lip the way you like, if he knows to kiss that place under your jaw that turns you to putty, if he appreciates how silky the hair he’s got his fingers tangled in is, how much work you put into making it that soft. Sirius knows too well what the fucker is feeling right now. How demanding you can be when you want something, fingernails digging into the soft skin of his shoulders, the way you tilt your chin to kiss up at him. He hopes this guy knows how good he’s got it, and he also hopes you’re not actually doing any of the things you do with Sirius.
The seventh-year grabs a handful of your ass, and that’s it.
Sirius stalks across the room, pretending to be headed for the punch table before stumbling and tossing his drink down the boy’s pants.
“Whoops,” he says, not bothering to add much inflection to his voice as the boy looks at him in outrage. “Sorry, mate.”
“Sirius.” Your eyebrows come together, lips swollen and eyes somewhat glazed. The sight makes Sirius’ blood thrum on instinct and memory, but he ignores it. “What’re you—”
“What the fuck, Black?” The Slytherin shoves him, and Sirius has to bite back a giggle—a giggle, how sadistic would that look—itching for a fight. “You and your friends are crashing Slytherin parties now just to pick fights?”
He thinks he sees a whoosh of red in his periphery, and wonders if it’s James or Remus that’ll be coming to his rescue, but then you’re stepping in front of him, so close that lovely hair is tickling his nose.
“Rhodes,” you say sharply, and Sirius doesn’t blame Rhodes for freezing. He would too, if you used that tone on him. “Go get cleaned up. I’ll handle this.”
Rhodes curls his lip at Sirius as he goes towards the dorms, but Sirius isn’t easily intimidated by people who run away. Then you whirl on him, and he sort of gets it.
“What the hell was that?” you ask, grabbing him by the sleeve and dragging him into a corner so you’re less of a spectacle. “What are you even doing here?”
“Thought I’d stop by and see what all the hype was about.” Sirius leans back against the wall, crossing his arms and looking about the room. “Have to say, I’m not particularly impressed. The PDA at Gryffindor parties is at least usually tasteful.”
You scoff at him, cocking an eyebrow. “You wish we were having PDA at Gryffindor parties, Black.” Apparently Sirius doesn’t respond quickly enough, or more likely something in his expression betrays him, because in the next second your own face sobers. “We never said we were exclusive.”
“I know that,” he says automatically, though in truth he’d never thought of it. Your relationship had been mostly casual thus far, but what needs could you have that Sirius wasn’t meeting? What could you want from other guys? “I just didn’t expect to be assaulted with the sight of it on a Thursday night.”
You sigh as though Sirius is a difficult child you have to appease. “Well, when you come to my house’s party without letting me know in advance, I can’t exactly prepare to accommodate what you do or don’t want to see.”
It’s all Sirius can do to keep his insouciant facade intact when you talk like that, as if he’s only one in your lineup of men, and the most demanding one at that. “Oh?” he asks, flicking up a brow. “And would you not have been snogging what’s-his-name if I’d given you notice that I’d be here?”
You look at him evenly. “If I’d known you would be here, I wouldn’t have had to find someone else to snog.”
“Oh.” Oh. “Well, I’m here now.” Not his best line, admittedly, but Sirius feels like he has whiplash, going from fighting to flirting in half a second. You had been fighting, hadn’t you?
You actually smile at him, biting your bottom lip as if to contain it. “You are.”
“And apparently there’s some sort of Slytherin distasteful PDA tradition to keep up, isn’t there?”
You shrug. “Depends on who you ask, I suppose.”
“Well.” Sirius presses his hand to the small of your back, getting in your space. “I think we ought to take up the mantle, gorgeous.”
You cast your eyes about the room as if nervous who will see, and Sirius stops, pulling back a bit to give you a sober look.
“Unless you want to go somewhere else?” he asks, doing his best to let you know that it’s okay if that’s what you do want.
You gnaw on your lip for a second, then shake your head, your eyes hardening decisively. “No,” you say, placing a hand on either side of his face. “Best not mess with tradition, right?”
Sirius nods so ardently you have to hold him still to kiss him, feigning exasperation, but he can feel your smile as it lines up with his.
🐺remus lupin x slytherin!reader
Tumblr media
remus is off limits for you. yet you always make your way back to him
you felt the heavy rain pour down and trickle down the hood of your rain coat, hurrying your way through the slippery grass and through the corridors
trying to make your way to the slytherin common room as efficiently as possible, walking through a group of girls giggling about what you could only assume was boy talk, a guy-gang loudly discussing about a shitty frat party, & lastly, a group of three boys walking alongside each other, tightly pressed into one another as if seeking warmth, like a puppy litter
the boy to the right side, with a chiseled jaw, neck-length hair & dark eyes, a visual of what you assumed people were talking about when using the term "tall dark and handsome," seems to be the one iniciating whatever the conversation was about
pressed in the middle, was a tan-skinned, brown-haired, charming boy with circular glasses and a glint in his eye, a clear smug expression on his face
but to the left side of the beaming boy, stood a brown-eyed boy with thick eyebrows, a straight nose with a light cut across it and his hair in all directions
you stood still. beaming boys all in their gryffindor uniforms paid you no mind, strutting aside you and straight to wherever they were going
snapping back to reality, realizing you've stood still for quite a while, you turn around, eyes seeking after the wet foot prints in the grass, only to see a path of footprints leading into the forest, with no boys in sight
.
you don't think about them again until the next day. walking down the staircase, heading straight to the dining hall for dinner, having freshly showered
you weren't the only one freshly showered, it seems
after taking your seat at the slytherin table, in between two girls snickering about something youd already tuned out, strutting into the hall comes yet the same group of boys you saw yesterday, in all their wet hair and glistening skin glory
you watch them maneuver over to the gryffindor table, attempting to focus your listening onto their voices
you hear a little about some owl crashing into a window, my girlfriend got me a love letter yesterday, have any of you done your potions homework yet, did any of you find a spell to cheat on our potions homework yet,
you also hear about finding crystal clear waters in the middle of the forbidden forest.
.
after dinner, you were planning on taking a stroll around the castle before curfew, for photography homework, learning to take a photograph without a psychical camera, pansy having taught you how to snap photos with nothing but a wand
your homework required one of all of the listed:
one picture of an animal
one picture of an exotic plant
one picture of the moon or the sun
and lastly, one picture of you and a friend together
packing your stuff up from dinner, you stand up from the table, straightening your skirt and adjusting your ponytail, one of the girls from beside you says, "hey, if we actually figure this photograph thing out, we could use it to take pictures of whoever we want, right?"
strutting through the corridors, greeting some fellow slytherins on the way to the common room as to not be caught outside right before curfew,
you can see the stars in the sky outside, and if you look close enough, the moon shimmers enough for you to see its reflection in the water
once again, you step out onto the wet grass, although this time, you start hearing footsteps
paranoid, you reach for your wand out your pocket, casting, "lumos," quietly and continuing your path
however the footstops dont stop, they continue, and they come closer
you reach your wand out, "hello? if youre trying to be funny and scare me, its not working!" yet, theres no answer
the grass splatters and sploshes with the wet sounds of the school uniform shoes
the footsteps follow up to a tree, and they stop there
hm?
you walk up to the tree, holding your wand out in front of it, theres nobody there
but it seems like the air is shifting..
rapidly in the moment, you reach your hand out tugging on the shift..
the footsteps have been revealed,
and its the scar-faced boy youd held eye contact with in the corridors yesterday..
.
you wake up the next day in your dorm room, having been able to sneak back in behind Filchs back before curfew, yet with a sore pain in your back after the little amount of sleep youve gotten
you follow your usual routine.
you brush out your hair, you dress yourself, turn off the other girls´ alarm clocks & youre on your way out
but isnt there something youre forgetting?
where are my shoes?
in the place on your doormat where you usually put your shoes, (the "´sup, witches?" doormat pansy had gotten you as a friendsgiving gift during her muggle humour phase), was a letter, not your bow-flat uniform shoes
you pick it up, its not addressed from or to anyone, the outside is blank. yet it looks like its been sealed with red candle wax
so you open it, and inside, it reads:
If you are missing items And need to find where they are lost They may be sentimental Or bought at a high cost
You need to sit down on your own And picture the item you want to find Inhale deeply then exhale slowly And clear your mind
oh, thats great. so this fucker youve never even spoken to, first of all, creepily follows you around on campus in the dark while invisible, holds eye contact with you in the corridors & now he steals your shoes and wants you to play his little game to find them?
its 7:25 AM. you have better things to do.
but then again. seeing his chiseled and scarred face, his red lips and his smug expression...
you think about the poem, "You need to sit down on your own and picture the item you want to find,"
picture. picture the item you want to find.
was this some test for your camera-less photography skills?
after putting your green tie and jacket on, down the stairs you borderline flew. without shoes, into the dining hall, ready to get breakfast over with so you could play this promiscuous strangers game.
.
its 3:35 PM. youre walking along the school grounds, poem in hand, trying to think about any hidden meaning behind it
youre overthinking it. what does he want to do with me? was this his way of revenge after i accidentally uncovered his invisible disguise yesterday? he ran off and into the castles right after...
what if he wants more than just my shoes? what if hes really mad and wants to make sure i regret it if i find them and hes there as well..
you shake away the thoughts, trying to retrace your steps from yesterday. you hum quietly to yourself, what was i doing again? photography homework, through the corridors, onto the grass, right by the trees...
youve pieced it together now. your shoes.. this stranger you dont even know the name of has taken your shoes into the forbidden forest.
thats how him and his buddies have been going there the entire time, wasnt it? throwing the cloak over their shoulders, making a run for the forest and just hoping they wont cross the path of some angry troll or evil creature..
thats what you needed to do. you needed to find a way to the forest, needed to secure that youd be able to get in and get back out
.
you set on sneaking ut in the dead of the night. its cold silent. not a single sound. every student is asleep, in their common rooms by curfew as common practice, you were never really a fan of rules
you made it to the tree you uncovered him by. theres nothing there. but, you spy with your little eye, wet footprints in the grass leading deeper.
it feels like youve been running forever. too scared of what could be hiding in the forest, too scared to meet it eye to eye, you set about making a run for it instead. you have no idea what youre even running for
one second, the wind is cold. your hair is all blown away from your face, your feet carrying you at a pace you knew youd be sore from after
the next second, an excruciating pain. your head hits the ground. hard.
you feel like you just died and came back, mustve lost your consciousness for a second
you come back to your senses eventually, you feel your hand up your forehead and your scalp, checking for cuts or deep dents. you find none
when you finally lift your head from the ground, right in front of you, by the root youve tripped on, is your old trusty pair of uniform-flat shoes.
.
you dont know how you ended up here. you just followed the foot prints, to get your shoes, of course. nothing else. just getting your shoes.
until it was something else.
you dont know how you ended up here, floating in bottomless crystal clear waters that looks like it shimmers in the moonlight.
across from you, none other than the good looking boy youd uncovered the day before.
you dont know how you ended up here, talking to him, having conversations with him, introducing yourself to him
you get closer. he seems like he trusts you.
for some odd reason, you feel the same way.
he inches closer and closer to you. you do nothing to resist his advances
he breaks the invisible stranger-ship.
his lips meet yours and you dont resist him at all
his warmth seeps into you
you dont even know his name.
.
and lastly, you dont know how you ended up here, currently being twirled around like a princess by none other than that same handsome, scar-skinned, dark haired boy you held eye contact with in that corridor
hes in a suit. you mightve fainted when you saw him in it for the first time if it wasnt for the dizzying amount of kisses he had been giving you the night before
your dress is silver. it shines and it sparkles, "pretty," he says, "you shimmer when the rays of moonlight hit you. youre beautiful like the sparkling place i loved you for the first time, sweetness,"
youve never been treated with this kindness before. you didnt know it was possible for someone like you to be treated with gentleness. care, kindness and gentle hands.
"you look handsome in anything you wear. handsome like the beaming boy i fell in love with at first glance in the corridors,"
sorry if it sucks i am sleep deprived 🥲
I Miss When We First Met: Chapter 10
Tumblr media
YN Potter falls in love with Draco Malfoy. Along with that, her relationship with her brother, Harry begins to fall apart as she was sorted into Slytherin. Will Harry find out about the relationship between his enemy and his sister?
IMWWFM: Masterlist
Neville hadn't talked to you for the rest of the school year. Harry was also ignoring you, and when he wasn't he was just talking about how evil you are.
No matter what you did, he wouldn't listen to you. "Come on, Harry! You know me better than anyone, you don't actually think I'm that bad..." You say, trying to get him to drop it and apologize.
But he doesn't. "Did Neville tell you something..?" You ask. Maybe It was because he knew about Draco. You didn't think your brother would really hate you just because you were sorted into a different house.
Harry's head immediately snapped to you as he asked; "What? What would he have told me?".
"It's nothing! It's none of your business. Can you please just talk to me?" You ask, tears almost filling your eyes.
"What did you do to him!" He yells at you, his stance getting defensive. You immediately ran off to your shared room, closing the door before making sure to lock him out.
You sobbed, letting all your tears out. You didn't cry often, so when you did you also let out the build up of tears.
You cried out, thinking about how everyone hates you. Both Harry and Neville. You had convinced yourself that Neville had been sending you letters during the summer.
You knew if he had been, the Dursleys would have been tossing them out. You told yourself that's what had happened, but deep inside you knew he was still mad at you.
You unlocked the bedroom door and laid back in your bed, immediately falling asleep. It was only 5pm, but you couldn't stand staying awake any longer.
You woke up to Harry being scolded by Vernon and Petunia. You had watched as your freedom slowly got more and more limited as the school year approached.
The door slammed and you heard the door lock both you and Harry in your room. "What happened..?" You ask, rolling over from your comfortable spot in bed.
"It's none of your business. Go back to bed" he responds, sitting on his bed. You looked over at him to see him intently staring at his owl.
You turned back around and closed your eyes, falling back asleep. The next day, The Dursleys had guests coming over and they told both you and Harry to stay in your room and to make no noises.
The two of you awkwardly walked back to your room, but when you arrived you saw a house elf jumping on Harry's bed.
He introduced himself as Dobby and said he had heard a lot about the two of you. You sat on your bed, trying to tune them out as he talked to Harry.
Eventually Dobby ended up getting Harry into trouble, causing a huge fit from the Dursleys.
They put bars up on your window, complicating things even more. "Any chance of us going to Hogwarts is gone now" You said, glaring at Harry.
"I haven't done anything! If it's anyone's fault it's yours" Harry snapped back. "What have I ever done? You're the one always getting us in the trouble!" I yelled back, my eyes filling with tears.
He rolled his eyes at you and you watched a blue, flying car come into view. You watched in disbelief as he got in the car, leaving you.
"Harry, what about your sister?" Fred said as he made eye contact with you. Your eyes started to water as you fidgeted with your hands.
"She can stay here. She'd just cause more problems at Hogwarts" He said with a harsh voice.
Fred and George gave each other a look, before George backed Fred up. "Yeah, YN. Get your things and come with us. Hurry!"
You got your things and we're forced to squish into the same seat as Harry.
He gave you dirty looks the whole time as you held in your tears. All of the sudden youth been so emotional, things have been too overwhelming.
Harry knew you almost never cried, causing him to believe you were doing it for attention and to get what you want. It only ain't good him more when you showed emotions.
And when he got mad you got more emotional, causing a cycle to form.
The rest of the time with the weasleys had been akward and you hadn't felt at home again until you had gotten back to the Hogwarts Express.
I can’t believe I agreed to another blind date. Tiffany owes me a lifetime of Cauldron Cakes if this doesn’t work out. The last time I went to one of these, she set me up with Justin Finch of all people and all he did was talk about himself. I just drank Butterbeer until he become barely. The date finally ended about two, agonizing hours later. As soon as we got back in the castle, we went our separate ways and I have not talked to him since.
Now, I’m sitting in Madam Puddifoot’s, in a corner, ten minutes early, trying to guess who my mystery date is. Tiff knows pretty much everyone at Hogwarts so it could be anybody really, but she only dates tools so I doubt it’ll be anyone good.
Five minutes go by before I hear the bell above the front door ring. It’s Neville. He looks a bit nervous. This is honestly the last place I thought I would see him. It’s not a very crowded place, so it’s good for an introverted person like him, but it’s a bit.. girly for him. But since he’s here, I can’t help but admire him. He’s gotten taller since we first got to university. He towers over a good amount of people at school. Even some of the professors.
His eyes wander around the room as if he’s looking for someone. Considering the only single person in here is me, I’m guessing that I’m his date. I get up from the table and walk over to him. His height is definitely intimidating up close, but his shyness makes it less intimidating.
“Hi Neville,” I say as gently as possible. I guess it works since I can visibly see him relax.
“Hi y/n,” He says not quite at a normal tone, but not a whisper either.
“I guess I’m your date,” A small smile wipes on my face. He nods his head, and we walk to where I was sat.
“I wasn’t sure what you’d like so I ordered an herbal tea. That alright?” I ask as we sit down. He nods his head again and I nod in acknowledgement.
It’s quiet for a bit before Madam Puddifoot comes back with our tea.
“Anything else for you dearies?” I look over at him to see if he wants anything.
“Ginger Newts? Please?” She warmly smiles at him and toddles to the back. The quietness takes over again. I reach a hand over and hold his.
“You don’t have to be nervous Nev. It’s just me.” His eyes soften and he lets out an exhale.
“Y-You’re actually the prettiest girl in our grade.” My smile can’t help but widen at getting a full sentence out of him.
“Only in our grade? Damn, looks like I gotta aim for prettiest in the school.” He smiles at that, and we drink our tea.
The conversation goes smoothly after that. He loosened up. Even started telling some jokes. I laughed so hard that people started looking over in our corner. We would just shush each other and continue laughing. As we finished the tea and Ginger Newts, we decided to go walk around outside. The snow hasn’t hit us quite yet, so the weather is bearable. I learned that he loves Herbology. He has almost every type of plant at his house. He learned that I had a crush on him from our 1st to our 3rd year. The time went by fast. Too fast.
We barely make curfew as we stumble in. Our laughing turns into hushed tones, but smiles stay upon our faces.
“Do you want to come to my room? I think Harry and Ron said something about going to Hagrid’s and Dean and Seamus snuck off somewhe-“
“Are you trying to get me into your bed Neville?” My tone is teasing, but his face still turns red.
“No! No! I just thought-“
“You’re okay Neville. Let’s go. I’ve always been curious as to what boy’s dorm rooms look like.” I take his hand and lead him to Gryffindor tower. The walk isn’t long. That’s a lie, it’s very long. Especially with all the steps, but being with him made it go by faster. We continued talking, kind of loudly, while the painting looked at us with disdain.
There aren’t many people in the common room. A few stragglers. Dean and Seamus are there, but they’re so wrapped up in each other that they don’t even notice Neville and I walking upstairs. He opens the door and sure enough we’re the only ones there. I walk all the way in and take a look around. It looks a bit different than the girls dorms. It also smells a bit different than the girls dorm. I can tell the one in the middle is Harry’s. Seems fitting as he’s “the chosen one”. Whatever that means. I look back and see Neville standing next to a bed.
“I’m assuming this one is yours?”
He nods.
“Wanna sit?”
He nods again. I walk over and sit down while he’s unmoving.
“Nev, I thought we got over the shyness?” I pat the spot next to me and wait for him to sit down. Once he does, I hold his hands and look at him.
“Have you ever been with a girl Neville?” He shakes his head no. I lift a hand to his cheek and look into his eyes.
“Do you want to?” He doesn’t say anything. Almost like he’s frozen.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to do anything, but if you do, I need a verbal answer.”
“I,” he clears his throat, “I do.” I smile and lean in closer to him. My nose lightly bumps his before I peck his lips. I lean back to assess how he’s feeling. His eyes are still close, and his lips are slightly puckered, stuck in this kiss. I chuckle and lean back in. I reconnect our lips and at that moment swear that I will study every day as long as I get kiss Neville for the rest of my life. He says he’s never been with a girl but the way his lips move against mine tell me differently.
My legs straddle his lap, and my hands move down to the side of his neck. I can tell he’s hesitant to do anything else, so I help him by wrapping his arms around my waist. His arms tighten around me, bringing up closer. I move a bit to settle on his lap and feel a slight bulge meet my clothed core. Our lips momentarily part, but not by much. He groans against my lips and it’s one of the most beautiful sounds to ever reach my ears.
I kiss his cheek, his jaw, his neck. He shudders underneath me which motivates me more. I remove myself from his lap and stand up. My top is first to go. His eyes are darkened as they stare at my figure. I raise my blouse slowly above my head. Only left in my lilac lace bra, I slowly unbuckle the belt to my jeans. I move them down my thighs and they fall down to my feet, revealing the matching panties.
“You gonna leave me half-naked by myself?” I tease. He gets up and takes his clothes off in record time. I try not to laugh so I don’t ruin the moment, but the way he almost trips on his trousers has me smiling to myself.
I take my place back on his lap and roll my hips against his crotch. My lips reconnect to his neck, and I kiss around until I find what I’m looking for.
“Fuck me,” I hear escape his lips.
Found it.
I suck on it while continuing to roll my hips. His noises become whimpers which goes straight down to my pussy.
“Can we- fuck. Can we try something?” I nod my head yes while slowing down my motions. His hands take a hold of my hips and bring me to a complete stop. I whimper at the loss of friction. My eyes move with the motion of his hands. He pulls his dick from his briefs and moves my panties to the side. He runs a finger through my folds and collects my slick, groaning at the feeling. He takes his finger and rubs it over his tip. It’s my turn to groan. I think I know what his idea was.
I wait until he moves his finger to place my pussy right on his shaft. He closes his eyes and I take the chance to place my lips on his. His arms take their rightful place back around my waist and I continue rocking my hips. His tip brushes up against my clit and I can’t help but to moan into his mouth. I rock a bit faster, and I feel him throbbing underneath me. I pull back reluctantly to catch a breath and his lips chase after mine. I’m embarrassed to admit how much that one simple thing turned me on. One more hip roll and my orgasm unexpectedly washes over me. I shudder and collapse into his figure but don’t stop. The overstimulation has me moaning in his ear. His hips start to roll up and meet mine. His soft moaning turns becoming louder, mixing with mine. His hold tightens and then his hips shudder to a stop. The sound he makes, makes me want to go a second round.
He loosens his hold and I look down in between us. His cum is still coming out in spurts. The sight alone should be in a porno. I take my index finger and swipe a bit of cum. My eyes close as the tanginess hits my tongue. The sound of the doorknob makes us turn our heads in sync. I reach over for my wand and close his curtains around us.
“Who’s been fucking in here? Damn!” Dean exclaims from the doorway. I hide my face in Neville’s neck as we silently laugh.
