Jason had been away, on a mission, and the hours without his voice, his laughter, his touch, had stretched on endlessly. He had spent the entire day out on patrol, trying to keep the streets safe from the ever-present criminal element that plagued the city. He knew the job was never easy, but it had been particularly grueling today.

But now, finally, the moment you had been waiting for was here. Jason was back. You practically leapt off the couch when you heard the familiar sound of his motorcycle pulling into the driveway. You raced to the door, your heart pounding so loudly that you thought it might burst from your chest. As soon as the door swung open, there he was, standing in all his brooding glory, his dark eyes locking onto yours.

Entering the dimly lit hideout, Jason kicked off his boots and tossed his helmet onto a nearby table. He rubbed his temples, feeling a dull ache starting to form in his head. Just as he was about to retreat to his room for some much-needed rest, he heard a voice echoing through the quiet space. Your lips stretched into a wide grin, and without thinking, you lunged at him, wrapping your arms tightly around his neck and pulling him into a bone-crushing hug.

"Jaybird!" The voice was enthusiastic and filled with an energy that Jason found almost overwhelming.

"Hey, you're back!" you exclaimed, a grin spreading across your face as you closed the distance between you and Jason.

He couldn't help but feel a small smile tug at the corner of his lips in response to your infectious energy. It had been a long day, and seeing you so happy to see him was a welcome sight. However, as you continued to chatter excitedly about your day, he felt a subtle throbbing in his head intensify.

He stiffened in your arms, and you pulled back slightly, noticing the storm clouds gathering in his eyes. His jaw clenched, and you could see the tension radiating off him.

"Hey, could you calm down," he said in a low, gravelly voice, prying your arms from around his neck. "You're acting like a damn hurricane."

You paused mid-sentence, the excitement in your eyes dimming slightly as you processed his words. The smile that had been so vibrant moments ago faltered, and you took a step back, suddenly self-conscious. You blinked, taken aback by his sudden coldness. "What?"

"You're being too loud and you're giving me a headache." he muttered, pushing past you and into the living room.

"Oh, uh, sorry," you mumbled, your enthusiasm now replaced with uncertainty.

You stared after him, hurt and confusion warring within you. You had anticipated this joyful reunion, the two of you wrapped up in each other's arms, but instead, his words hung in the air like a heavy fog. You had missed him all day, every second of it, and now that he was back, he was telling you to calm down? You felt like you had been slapped in the face.

For the rest of the evening, you tried your best to contain your exuberance, to dim the light that had been burning so brightly inside you. You spoke in hushed tones, moved with measured steps, and kept your laughter in check. Every fiber of your being ached to be near him, to touch him, but you held yourself back, convinced that this was what he wanted.

The days that followed were a monotonous blur. you moved through them like a shadow, your heart heavy with the weight of his words. You were consumed by a quiet sadness, an ache that gnawed at you day and night. You missed the way we used to be, the way he would wrap you in his arms and tell you that your happiness was his priority. But now, you felt like a nuisance, a burden that he couldn't wait to be rid of.

One evening, as you sat on the couch, lost in your thoughts, Jason walked in. He looked at you with his brow furrowed.

"Hey," he began, his voice gentle this time.

You turned to look at him, your eyes still carrying a touch of sadness.

"Hi" you replied to him trying to keep a straight face.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice softer than before.

You stare at nothing as you answer the question. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"You've been very quiet all week. You're not yourself. You used to be… well, you used to be energetic, and now you're like a shadow," he said, his gaze searching yours.

You swallowed hard, your throat suddenly tight. "You told me to calm down, and that I was being loud."

"I'm sorry for snapping at you," Jason said sincerely. "I know you were just excited to see me, But I needed a moment to adjust after being on that mission. I wasn't prepared to interact with you, but that doesn't mean I wanted you to disappear."

You sighed, your gaze dropping to your hands in your lap.

You felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes. You had misunderstood him, taken his words to heart in the worst possible way. "I just... I didn't want to bother you," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "maybe I was being too much for you."

Jason reached out and gently tilted your chin up, making you meet his eyes.

"You're never too much for me," he said softly. "I appreciate your energy and enthusiasm. It's just... I was having a rough day, and I didn't handle it well. I didn't mean to make you feel like you had to change who you are."

A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips, and a hint of your usual spark returned to your eyes.

"You're forgiven," you said, giving him a playful nudge as you pout and say "But next time, maybe just tell me you're having a bad day instead of being mean, okay?"

Jason chuckled, relieved to see your spirit returning. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you close.

"Deal," he replied. "Now, let's enjoy this sunset together."

[ notes ] don't like the ship? don't read. also this is my first big headcanon list so please be nice

- i feel like they would live together and buy a really big tub just so they could all take baths together

- those baths? no water. all of it has turned to sparkles and unicorn blood from the amount of bath bombs, bubble bath and bath sparkles

- i feel like they would be really teasing?? like making fun of each other jokingly but if someone else does it well goodbye

- lian loves them all: roy is dad/ daddy, kori is mama/mommy and jason is papa/pops

- jason owns the kitchen, kori can help if she wants but roy isn't allowed every since the toaster caught on fire from him trying to cook a poptart

- i mean?? every single one can be intimidating but despite that if one of them is getting attacked the others would swoop in like they were a helpless puppy

- kori doesn't intatie contact expect for small things but likes it when her datemates do

- jason isn't really touchy in person and roy ignores this completely

- roy is a teddy bear that is always touching his partners in some way and will do sickily lovey dovey things to jason in a effort to make him blush and make kori laugh

- despite the fact jason is a amazing cook they mostly eat takeout and its a mission to see how many weird takeout places they can eat from

- when lian is a bit older i could totally see jason teaching her how to shoot a gun and roy teaching her how to shoot arrows and kori teaching her actual hand-to-hand combat

- they all sleep tangled together, roy and jason fight over the covers and kori sleeps in the middle because she is a heater

- overall the only way they are all alive is with each other

Fandom: DC / Red Hood and the Outlaws

Summary: You missed Roy and Starfire while they were on a mission and can’t sleep. But Jason was still around so he’ll do.

Notes: Last week while I was sick and dealing with emotions I ended up reading a bunch of Red Hood and the Outlaws and got slightly inspired so I wrote some short Jason stories. I’m going back and editing them now.

“We will only be gone a few hours promise.”

That had been Roy and Star’s promise as they left on their secret mission leaving you alone with Jason at the base.

A promise that had been made over 24 hours and was now well into the evening of the second day.

And you couldn't sleep.

To say you had abandonment issues was putting it lightly. It was more of a, someone leaves you for two seconds and you’re convinced they were never coming back.

It didn’t help that Roy had stopped texting you around hour 10.

Jason had said they were fine. That they would be back soon. To stop asking about it. Just relax

How the HELL were you supposed to relax when your family was on a mission that was taking twice (close to three times) as long as it should and you hadn’t heard anything?

You just have to accept they aren’t coming back. That evil little voice said in you head over and over again. People leave, it’s part of life. You need to stop being a baby about it.

Letting out a long sigh you sat up rubbing your eyes trying to keep the tears at bay. GIRL! Pull yourself together, this was NOT the time to cry.

But you also couldn’t sit in this empty room anymore. The lack of laughter and presence of your friends was just too loud.

Getting up she slowly walked down the hall noticing Jason’s light on. Gently knocking on the door.

“Yeah?”

Jason couldn't sleep. But that wasn’t new. He never slept. Tim Drake had nothing on Jason Todd. The sleepless boy wonder. Years of living on the streets having to fight for his life and then growing up spending late nights on patrol had trained Jason to… well, not sleep.

Not to mention that ever plaguing nightmares that lurked right behind his eyelids.

A soft knock on the door broke him from the book he was reading. “Yeah?”

The door slowly opened to reveal you standing in the doorway. Eyes bloodshot and nose red. If Jason didn’t know any better he would have thought you had been crying.

The idea made his stomach drop for some reason.

“What’s up snickers?”

“I… can’t sleep” you mumbled looking down at your slippered feet feeling like some small child. This was fucking stupid. You were being stupid. “I’m worried about Roy and Starfire, Could I maybe… just hang with you for a while.”

“Yeah, sure it’s not like I’m sleeping anyway.”

Nodding you walked over before jumping into the bed.

“Jesus your feet are cold!” Jason mumbled as he toes touched his legs. Also realizing that even though he was in a long-sleeved shirt he was only wearing boxers. Not that it mattered, it wasn’t like was sexually attracted to you. You were like a best friend to him. Someone who had always been there no matter what. Someone he truly relied on.

Glancing over he felt a weird fluttering in his chest again as you fluffed his extra pillow and spread out the blankets getting yourself comfortable before cuddling down into the blankets. Body cuddled up to him.

You body was so warm, not uncomfortably just… warm in like a soothing way. Almost like the warm milk Alfred use to make when he was a kid to help him relax. It probably had something to do with the fluffy panda hoodie you were wearing or just natural body heat.

Whatever it was Jason didn’t hate it.

“Shhhhh”

“Just one more”

“You are going to wake them.”

“But they are so adorable, wonder if they missed us.”

“Oh shhhh”

Jason woke to two idiots standing over him. What time was it? Blinking confused he realized by the light in the window that it was morning. Roy clicked his camera a few more times while Starfire stood behind him trying to keep her lover from waking up the two. Seeing Jason waking she gave him a gentle smile.

“She looks so cozy” The alien nodding toward You. It was then that Jason realized you had fallen asleep pressed against his chest. Breathing peacefully Jason couldn’t help but agree with Star, you did look cozy.

“You both did” Roy snickered as he texted God knows who seeing as all his friends were in that room. “Asleep like babies. Star broke a lamp coming in here and you guys didn’t even flinch.”

“If I remember correctly Roy, the blame for the broken lamp lies with you.”

“How… what time is it?” Jason mumbled rubbing his eyes trying to get a bearing on what was going on. How long had he been asleep? And boy did he feel good. Is this was a full rest felt like?

You let out a soft sigh as he tried to sit up, your fingers clutching onto his shirt pulling it toward yourself as you buried your face it the soft white material.

“Looks like you’ll be there for a while.” Roy said, “I’m going to shower and then make breakfast.”

“May I join you?”

“Ohhhh I’d like that”

Jason tried again to sit up only to have you mumble in your sleep stirring. A few seconds later slowly starting to wake.

“Hey sleepy.”

“Where….” you blinked confused looking up at him.

“You fell asleep in here remember.”

“I did” mumbling you rubbing your arm on your face cheeks flushed from sleep. Something about the way your hair was all messed up and eyes blinking owlishly trying to wake up was doing things to Jason. He wanted to grab you and pull you back under the blankets and hold you forever.

“Yeah, once you wake up Roy said she’s going to make breakfast.”

“They’re back?” instantly you were awake.

“Don’t hurt yourself” Jason tried to warn you as you almost tripped out of the bed in your haste to see your teammates.

“So how was last night?” Roy asked winking, he had always known there was SOMETHING going on between those two. They just didn’t want to admit it.

“I think she freaked out because you guys were gone so long,” Jason said taking a bite while Kori explained to their teammate in question how the mission had gone.

“Yeah, I know she has some abandonment issues due to her past.” Roy said, “Part of the reason I had her join us. Glad she had you there at least.”

“Yeah…” Jason’s voice trailed off as he watched her giggling at something Kori was saying.

“Did something else happen?” Roy question pulling him back to reality. His gaze studying his best friend. Since last night Jason hadn’t seemed to be able to take his eyes off of you.

“Nothing happened… well…” his voice trailed off for a moment.

“What?”

“I just… have never slept that good before in my life.”

Roy laughed shaking his head, “maybe you need to platonically sleep with people more.”

“Yeah maybe.”

“Unless you don’t want it to be platonic…”

Jason chocked slightly on his coffee at the though. The coughing sound causing Kori and you to turn confused.

“Everything ok?” You asked

“Oh you know me, just helping my friend realize the obvious,” Roy said flashing you a wide grin that told you he was up to no good.

“I missed you guys,” you said decideing if you needed to know you would end up finding out.

“Seem’s like you found a way to cope.”

Just Another Tag Game.

And I’ll be tagging who ever wants to do this because i feel i am late to the game and that everyone i follow has probably already done this.

1. Dogs or Cats? Both, But i currently have 1 baby kitty named Freya.

2. YouTube celebrities or normal celebrities? I’m not sure if this is referring to who i like more or just crush on, but in terms of crush both, in terms of like more of it would have to be youtubers, because it feel like you can connect with them better depending on how long you have been following them.

3. If you could live anywhere where would that be? Currently my interest is in Ireland or Scotland because i want to see all the castles and mountains/hills that they have, i have seen pictures and they just look amazing.

4. Disney or DreamWorks? I like both, but i am more likely to watch/suggest a disney movie than a dreamworks movie.

5. Favorite childhood TV show? Honestly i don’t have just one, but the main one i have the best memories with it Teen Titans(and i am excited for them to bring the originals back, didn’t like teen titians go..)

6. The movie you’re looking forward to most in 2020? I am not a big movie buff, i guess i always look forward to super hero movies and actually interesting “children's” movies.

7. Favourite book you read in 2019? So the thing is i like to read something for a long period of time, but then i go to the bookstore and see an interesting book and start reading that and never go back to the old book, and then repeat this a million times...so i haven't finished anything yet, but from what i have read, i really like the book, Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu

8. Marvel or DC? When it comes to the movie universe i prefer Marvel, when it comes to the comic books i prefer DC(although i am NOT happy with them right now because of something they did to my beloved Nightwing)

9. If you choose Marvel favourite member of the X-Men? If you choose DC’s favourite Justice League member? My favorite X-Men has to be Mystique because of her powers and her attitude. My favorite Justice League member...if my username doesn't tell you...i font know what will..LOL i’m just teasing you, i love batman because of the fact that he is just a human like us, a rich human, but still human

10. Night or Day? Night because i love to look up at the sky and get lost in the stars.

11. Favourite Pokémon? See i always feel insecure of my answer because of how cheesy it can be, but i have to give that spot to eevee because of the fact that eevee can be anything it wants to be when it grows up, and it makes me happy.

12. Top 5 bands: Maroon 5, Gorillaz, three days grace, green day, and linkin park

13. Top 10 books: um...idk cause i haven’t finished anything yet, but i always loved reading the Harry Potter series and the Spiderwick Chronicles.

14. Top 4 movies: Son of Batman, Batman Bad Blood, Teen Titans Judas Contract, and Batman Under the Redhood. (lol see a theme)

15. America or Europe? Europe! Considering i live in America i want to learn more about other places and see their sights.

16. Tumblr or Twitter? Tumblr, i have a twitter but i dont really use it as much as i use tumblr(and even then i have my days where i dont even want to get on here.) plus i have more friends on here!

17. Pro-choice or Pro-life? I am Pro-Choice. However, i have a stance that if you are just being dumb and purposely choose not to use protection than that’s on you, if you did and it broke or there was a hole then it’s a different story. Everyone deserves the ability to speak for themselves.

18. Favourite YouTuber: I’d say for just normal gaming content either Markiplier or Jacksepticeye, for a simstuber i like lilsimsie, vixella and urbansims.

19. Favourite author? gotta give it to Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi. i finished their books before anyone else’s.

20. Tea or coffee? i like both but lately i have been drinking more tea than coffee.(my Starbucks order is the chai tea latte iced. and i can’t stop drinking it)

21. OTP? i don’t have just one so i will list them by genre. Comics: Nightwing and Starfire, TV: Robin and Zatanna, Video game: Link and Zelda, anime: Lucy and Natsu.

22. Do you play an instrument/sing? Nope but i can kinda sing, i want to learn how to play the piano though.

Broken Trust

The fight with Jason had been brewing for weeks. It wasn't just the usual petty arguments, this time it felt different. Something had changed between you guys and it made you feel uneasy.

You had asked him countless times where he spent his nights, but he never gave you a straight answer. He would just brush off the question or change the subject. It made you feel like he was hiding something from you.

The tension between both of you had reached a boiling point and you finally confronted each other. You asked him again, pleading with him to tell you the truth. But he just looked at you with a mixture of sadness and frustration, telling you that he couldn't tell you what you wanted to know.

It was the final straw. You couldn't take the lack of trust and honesty anymore. You told him that you needed some space, packed a bag, and left.

As you drove away from your shared home, you couldn't shake the feeling of despair. You had been with Jason for years and you had always thought that they were happy. But now, as you sat in your car, tears streaming down your face, you realized that maybe you guys had never been as happy as you thought. And the fact that he couldn't even be honest with you about something as simple as where he spent his nights, made you feel like your entire relationship was a lie.

There was no comfort to be found at this moment. Just heartache and the bitter realization that maybe your love was not as strong as you had thought.

Kori: ... So?

Kom: How's uh- How your little boytoy?

Kori: Kom, how many times do I have to tell you? He's not my boytoy.

Kom: Right. Right... Hey, don't you ever get weirded out by it?

Kori: *sighs* I know I'm going to regret this, but, weirded out by what?

Kom: You know.

Kori: I wouldn't have asked if that were the case now, would I?

Kom: It’s just- uh... I mean you were with one- Well with his brother, and now you're with him.

Kori: Kom.

Kom: I imagine it must be weird for him too, you were with his older brother, and now... you're in his bed.

Kori: ...

Kom: Wait- Do you get invited to family dinners because that has to be the most weirdest shit ever. Isn't it uncomfortable for all three of you? And now you live with Jason, so- I mean, does Dick ever drop by, or is it now officially a no go zone since you're there?

Kori: I'm going to pretend like this conversation never happened.

Kom: I ju- I don't understand it, like is it not awkward though? Like the tension has to be insane, or no? Does Dick even care, or... How does it work?

Kori: If you continue on, I'm gonna go.

Kom: Okay, okay, fine. Sorry.

Kori: ... Uh-huh.

Kom: So, what should we watch?

Kori: Well the new season for Stran-

Kom: ...

Kori: W-Why do you have that look on your face?

Kom: Okay, I can't hold it in anymore. Who's better in bed?

Kori: KOM!!!
