The Writer - Gotham Knights Jason Todd x reader - Part 2

Warning: same as the part 1, by the way, read the last chapter and also use of remedies (do not repeat the same actions as the protagonist, go to see a specialist/doctor when you start to feel bad phisically or emotionally)

After the Red Hood saved you and you posted about it on your blog, you got tons of likes from thousand of people who lives in Gotham. You were laying in your bed moving your legs excitedly and then you received an email. An anonymous email.

Your smile faded and then you send a copy of an archive to this email and closed it, you started to feel your heartbeat go faster and a little bit of dizziness.

"God... for how long will I still do it?" you asked to yourself "what would father do?"

You get up of your bed and goes to the bathroom and looked at your reflection at the mirror, you opened the high balcony and you took a pill. A tear fell of your eye, but you quickly wiped it off with your hand. You grab your notebook and placed on your desk and you finally sleep.

Something you did not notice it's a vigilante who is watching you from afar. Red Hood watches you fall asleep and he enters through you apartment's window and starts inspecting everything.

"Belfry, I've entered into (Y/N)'s apartment" Red Hood informed quietly to not wake you up

"okay... that's kinda weird, I hope we'll never do it again. I don't want us to get reputation as a stalker" Tim has said

"Tim, don't worry. We are just investigating. And Jason, try to find at least some clues about (Y/N)'s life" Barbara demanded

"don't you think that's invasion of privacy?" Dick asked

"what Jason has said to us earlier got my attention. Why would some random thugs assault a normal civilian writter?" Barbara answered

"not just any writter. A very famous writter, maybe they were just after her money, after all she sells books" Tim suggested

"anyway, what did you find, Jason?" Dick asked

"nothing special, she loves drinking a lot of tea and... hmm" Jason stopped "she uses remedies to control anxiety"

"have you checked in her computer?" Barbara asked

Jason went to see in your computer, but it needs password, he buffed

"belfry, her computer needs password" Jason informed

"the one who can discover passwords so easily is Babs" Dick informed

"unfortunately I cannot discover the password right now, but I had an idea. Tim, you with me?" Barbara asked

"you know it" Tim answered

Jason started to search more about you in your apartment and he finds a portrait of you inside of your locker, it's you in a graduation uniform with a woman who is older than you.

"I found a portrait of (Y/n) with a woman who might be her mother. Not only that, she is wearing the graduation uniform and it says 'Chemistry College'" Jason has informed

"wait what? No no no, she always put on her bio that she is graduated at Literature, how can she lie about something like that?" Tim asked surprised

"we'll find out" Jason said

Oh... I like this idea a lot, I think y/n would do anything to make Jason feel at home again with the holidays. Word count:1.2K

Jason being revived was overwhelming as it is, But you were glad to have your best friend back... But you could tell the whole experience left him shaken, I mean he literally died and was brought back to life, Not only that you had to guide him through everything as he also lost his memories as well.

Christmas was coming up really fast and it's usually one of Jason's favourite holidays, Maybe this will help him remember just a little bit, Not a lot but a little bit. Baby steps. So you went out and got a Christmas tree for the Belfry, Beginning to decorate it soon after putting it up.

"What's all this y/n ??" Jason looked over from his training.

"Oh I'm just setting up the Christmas tree" You said while continuing to decorate it. You could hear Jason lightly huff before heading back to his training, Sighing softly, you continued decorating the tree.

After which, you went out the next day and got gifts for the others. You were struggling to find a gift for Jason, Something that he might like. It almost took you 5 hours until you found a familiar comic book... It was Jason's favourite comic book. You rushed in and got it, Quickly going back to the belfry and then wrapping it all up, Placing it under the tree.

Jason saw you rush in and shook his head lightly, He had no time for Christmas or anything else, He had to continue training to get back out as Red Hood. Dick saw you trying to do this to help him remember... He gently went over to you.

"Y/n... I know this has been tough on you and Jason, But you can't just rush his memories back. It's not how it works..." He placed a hand on your shoulder and gently squeezed it.

"I know... I'm trying not to but... It's been 5 months since he came back and... I'm worried that he might not be able to ever remember it... remember anything." He could see the worry in your eye.

"Baby steps y/n... I promise" he smiled reassuringly.

Christmas Eve rolled around and you and Jason were tasked with patrolling Gotham for the night, As usual this time of the year, crime around Gotham picks up rapidly. Suiting up and then heading out. You two mostly stopped petty theft from charity tins and such. But the real kicker in the jaw, was when the clock struck midnight, Christmas day. You two saw a bright beam go into the sky, soon which it got rapidly cold very quickly.

"Freeze..." You said shuddering.

"Quickly we have to stop him" He then grappled a nearby building, ready to take him down.

"No wait, Jason !!" You quickly followed him, You both needed to come up with a plan before trying to take freeze down. The comms from the belfry picked up but were becoming choppy because of the unexpected storm.

"Crap, the belfry is losing reception" You said to him.

"Then let's give him a Christmas he'll never forget" You could tell he was smirking under his mask.

Reaching the area, You both went up the building only to find what looked like a rather large machine, Whatever was going on, that machine had to be the cause of it.

Jason was quick to head down and try and turn it off, only to be knocked away by Mr freeze. "Get away from my storm machine !!" He threatened while aiming his freeze gun at him.

Jumping down, you landed in front of Jason protecting him from harm. "Looks like you'll be on Santa's bad list" You smirked, looking over and nodding at Jason.

"You two won't be able to stop me this time" He charged his freeze gun before shooting at you both, but soon quickly dodging his attack.

"I'll distract him, you take care of the machine !!" Jason said to you as you nodded.

Jason put up a good fight, the training was coming back to him... He was slowly starting to remember... During this, he had his flashback where you and him were sparing. Before you became an official member of the bat family, He would always knock you on your ass, but it always ended in laughs, You... were his friend...

Meanwhile, you got to work decoding the machine to stop the machine from plunging Gotham into an ice age, You frantically looked over as freeze. who after knocking Jason over, Aimed his gun at you and shot a beam at you... Before you could even react, you were pushed out of the way, falling to the ground... looking over to see Jason who is now trapped in ice. "RED HOOD !!!" You rushed over trying to get him out of the ice. But then... something happened... Jason started to glow... almost in the colours of the Lazarus pit. Soon he released a burst of energy, Freeing him from the ice he was once trapped in.

"You're gonna get it now Freeze !!" He yelled and then lunged into action again, Freeze was baffled and overwhelmed by what was happening, You managed to decode the machine in time and stopped it, soon releasing Gotham out of the freezing hellscape, But them you heard glass smash as Jason smashed his helmet open, repeatedly punching him... He was going to kill him.

"Red hood stop !!!!" You grabbed his wrists before he could do any further damage. "This isn't the way..." You knew Jason had different philosophies to justice, but again he lost his memories and all the training went away... But he quickly calmed down as he got up when the police arrived. "Let's go" Was all he said as you two headed back to the Belfry.

Once back, Jason unmasks himself and takes a deep breath, Looking over at you. "Y/n... I.. I don't know what came over me... I saw you in danger and then... well everything happened..." He looked away for a bit before you went over to him. "Jason... I know everything has been hard for you since you were brought back..." You could see how this still affected him. "But the important thing is, we stopped him in the end..." You smiled softly. Jason simply nodding, but you could see the hint of a smile.

"Oh wait" You rushed over to the Christmas tree quickly pulling out his gift and rushing over to him. "Merry Christmas" You handed him his gift.

Jason was slightly taken aback by this offering but nonetheless accepted, Opening the gift, he saw the comic... You looked up at his face but saw no glint of remembrance in his eyes, You were saddened... But you tried.

As you turned away, Jason quickly grabbed you and pulled you into a tight hug, You were baffled by what happened before he pulled you out, Seeing the remembrance in his eyes... He remembered you. "Y/n..."

You smiled as your bottom lip wobbled a little. "Welcome back buddy"

"Merry Christmas Pal..." He pulled you back into a tight hug as you did as well, The first Christmas since Jason's revival... Who would've thought it would be this good.

Warning: I'm writting the reader as a female character because it's been a LONG time I don't write self insert, but you guys can consider the reader as gender neutral too. And there is some Arkham references haha :3 Hope you enjoy it :)

(Y/N) - Your Name

(L/N) - Last Name

Living in Gotham City is a mix of a lot of things, it can be fun, but also can be dangerous. Night crimes, gangs and thiefs, but thank God that in Gotham City there are still heroes who are willing to protect us from any danger.

I was sitting down while drinking my coffee at Pauli's Diner (Arkham Knight reference hehehe), writting something on my notebook until the waitress came serving more coffee.

"Thank you, miss Jones" you smiled at the blondie lady

"you're welcome, and please just call me Sharon, sweetie. You come here ever since you were a college student" Sharon served coffee

"times really pass so fast and I'm almost finishing my novel"

"That's why you need more coffee, and by the way, havin' a boyfriend or girlfriend?" Sharon asked with a smirk

"aah Sharon. You know that I feel awkward with these kind of relationships ever since I graduated"

"I know I know, darling. If you need something just call me. Oh, and tell your parents that I said 'hi' too"

The waitress left the table, you just needed some more minutes to finish writting, your novel it's a romance between an important angel with a human who is an apprentice of the most dangerous sorcerer on earth (yeah, it's a reference of my Mortal Kombat OCs account), and they have a chemistry between them even tho their romance is forbidden.

The angel is a hero while the human is seen as a villain by the whole society, you were about to finish your novel until some thugs entered into the diner.

"Everybody! Get down" said one thug

You quickly turned off your notebook and hide in your backpack, everyone including you got down on the ground. The big guy who was holding the gun was searching something, or better, someone. He was kicking the tables until he found you.

"found ya. You know why we are here!" said the tall thug

"I-I don't what you're talking about" you answered while stuttering

"liar. There were rumors about you, you just need to give what we want"

One of the thugs who is a female, spotted your backpack and took off your notebook

"this seems to be so important to you" the female thief said

You tried to grab your notebook back, but tall guy pulled you by your hair

"Let her go" the Red Hood has arrived, "You guys have enough courage to taunt an innocent writter"

"Get him!" the female ordered

The thugs started to fight against the Red Hood, none of them were so as skilled as the vigillante, he dodges all their punches and he used his double guns to shoot at them. He impeds the woman and he got her uncoscious. The Red Hood grabs your notebook and give back to you.

"Thank you, Red Hood" you grab your closed notebook

"you know why they were threating you?" Red Hood asked in a serious tone

"I- I have no idea, I was just minding my own business here writting my novel until these thugs came in"

"you're safe now, be careful when you're writting on your computer outside your home"

"I'll listen to your advice, thanks again, Red Hood"

And with that, the Red Hood flies away with his grappling gun, you grabbed your notebook, put it inside in yout backpack, paid Sharon for the coffee and then left the diner.

At the morning, Jason Todd, the Red Hood that saved (Y/N) last night, was helping Barbara with the breakfast.

"hmm so you saved a writter yesterday" Barbara broke the silence

"what?" Jason lifted his head towards the girl

"c'mon Jason, you saved (Y/N) (L/N) last night, a writter of my favorite romance"

"how do you know that?"

"she posted on her writting blog" Barbara showed her phone to Jason, he saw your writting blog. An official page about your books and updates, sometimes you even write about your everyday routine.

"woah, never knew she is that famous. But I don't get it-" Jason got interrupted by Dick Grayson who came along with Tim Drake

"good morning! Who's my favorite little batsiblings doing?" asked Dick with a playful tone of voice

"haha very funny, Dick" Jason elbowed Dick's arm

"you guys saw the (Y/N)'s writting blog?" asked Tim Drake showing his tablet, he is also a big fan of your romance

"yeah, Jason Todd- oh I mean, the Red Hood saved her at the Pauli's Diner yesterday at night" Barbara grabbed Jason's shoulder

"seriously, I started to get jealous of you. I always wanted her autograph" Tim pouted

Jason continued to cut the bread and his siblings noticed his serious face.

"looks like you're not in the mood today. Are you okay?" Dick asked him

"it's weird that last night instead the thugs rob the Diner, they decided to assault that innocent woman for some reason. Quite weird, right?" Jason said

Dick, Barbara and Tim looked at each other with a suspicious look

"and did she say the reason about why?" Dick asked

"no, all she said is that she was minding her damn business while writting her novel" he responds

"but do you remember what the thugs have said to her before you arrive?" Tim ask

"They said there were rumors about her and she just need to give what they wanted" Jason respond Tim's question

"hmm" Barbara thought for a minute and she went to her computer

"what are you doing?" Jason asked

"I'm trying to locate (Y/N)'s through her phone since she posts a lot by it, and you might investigate what's her business" she responded

"soooo... like a stalker?" Tim asked

"no, Tim. Not like that, but if there are rumors about her, I think it wouldn't hurt for us to investigate" Barbara chuckles

Jason sighs while scratching his head and put his hands on his hips

"alright then. Let's do this"

The annual travelling carnival was back in Gotham, So you and Jason decided to take the day off and head to it, The main attraction of the carnival was the new roller coaster that they had. Reaching the speeds of 100 mph and had a steep drop. Who wouldn't love that ??, But Jason was scared of roller coasters, preferring to stick his feet on the ground.

"Come on Jason It'll be so much fun !!" You dragged him to the line. To which he tried to resist. "Nah, I'm good y/n... You go on..." He tried to downplay it.

"Oh come on, You only live once !!" You had a huge smile on your face, If you had a tail as well, it would be wagging so hard.

He looked up at the tall tracks and gulped nervously, But you were right... Only once... "Alright alright fine."

He then stood in line with you as your turns came up, sitting down in the car, you cheered on as the cars began to wheel out, and Jason's heart began to pound as the chain began to pull the car up on the incline. And soon... The drop.

The speed picked up, So many twists and turns and there at one point was a loop de loop. You were full of cheers while Jason was full of screams, You laughed as you heard him scream. Once off he turned to you. "Don't you dare say this to the others" You knew he enjoyed it. You knew it.
