I wanted that events of the fic would take a place during season 2-3 where Caroline just become vampire, and Damon and Stefan's relationship were complicated. So, Stefan and Damon would get into a big argument. Stef leaves with hurt feelings. Elena and Caroline meets him in town and asks whats wrong. Stef is not in the mood, he snaps at them and says nothing. Then he leaves, gets ambushed and kidnapped.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stefan storms out of the boarding house after just having a fight with his older brother. He wipes away the glistening tears from his eyes.
This isn't how it used to be between him and Damon. When they were human, they had the best relationship. He could go to Damon about anything and his older brother would always be the one to comfort him and he knew he could rely on his big brother.
"Just think about it, everything that happened is your fault! Mother died because you were born, Katherine stayed and turned us into vampires because she saw you, you forced me to transition, and countless other things!" Damon yelled, which resulted in Stefan leaving.
All the guilt he has tried so hard to push away comes crashing back like a wave. He keeps his composure up, walks to the park in the square, and sits on one of the benches. He takes deep breaths, not wanting to have a breakdown in public.
Caroline calls Elena, telling her about the fight that had taken place and Stefan running off in the direction of town. She had been about to leave her car which was parked outside the house when her vamp hearing picked up the screaming voices and then saw Stefan leave in a hurry.
Caroline drives as quickly as she can to Elena's house, picking her up on the way deeper into the busier parts of town.
She parks by the grill, the sun setting and she and Elena jump out of the car.
After not even two minutes, they spot Stefan hunched over on a bench, leg moving up and down repeatedly.
"Stefan!" Elena calls out to the vampire.
"Oh, Elena, Caroline, hi" Stefan looks up, surprise evident on his face.
"Are you alright?" Caroline asks softly, sitting on the bench beside him. He looks over at her, confusion in his eyes. It takes Stefan a moment until he figures that she and Elena will find out about the fight and then tell him that Damon's right. It's the knowledgeable answer, considering he just got his humanity back and trying to get back into his old routine.
Not waiting another minute, Stefan gets up and quickly vamps away. He keeps running until he's out of town and just walking through the woods.
As he's passing massive trees and stepping on fallen leaves, he gets the feeling someone is following him.
He turns around, thinking it's Caroline. But he's wrong, the last thing he sees is a muscular, tall man before getting grabbed from behind and slammed against a tree repeatedly til he passes out.
Caroline and Elena sigh. "What do we do now?" Elena asks, worriedly.
"Let's just give him some space, I'll try talking to him tomorrow," Caroline says softly. Elena nods, knowing her best friend has good judgment.
They head to the grill to have dinner.
The first word that comes to Stefan's head is pain. It feels like his entire body is on fire. He opens his eyes, only to find he's trapped in a room with no windows, only a small vent, and a door with a handle that's most definitely locked.
Looking down, he sees where the pain is coming from. There are two small stakes in his hands, pinning them down to the chair's arms. Three stakes lodged into his stomach, but not too close to get his heart. And a stake in each of his thighs, by the feeling of it, they're all the way through and sticking out at the bottom of his thighs.
He lets out a small whimper of pain, hoping whoever took him couldn't hear.
The next thing he knew was someone who walked into the room, the key to the door, he assumed, in hand and a wicked smirk playing on his face.
This can't be good, Stefan thinks to himself.
It's been four days since Caroline and Elena saw Stefan in the park, and neither of them could reach him on the phone, and couldn't find him when they searched.
Caroline made the decision to go to Damon. If anyone knows where Stefan is, it's going to be him. Well, other than Katherine, but of course this is one of the only times she can be useful and she's not here.
Without knocking, she walks into the boarding house. She walks through the house til she finds the oldest Salvatore in the library, drinking bourbon.
"Ever heard of knocking, blondie?" Damon quips.
"Oh, please, you never lock the door anyways" Caroline rolls her eyes. "Anyways, I was wondering if you know where Stefan is, I haven't been able to reach him or find him for the last four days. The last time I saw him, he was on a bench in the park, and when I asked if he was okay, he just vamped away" she tells Damon.
Damon pauses his movement to bring his glass to his lips. His head tilts, and he puts his glass down, walking toward the baby vampire.
"That may have something to do with our argument that happened," Damon says, thinking about how he hasn't been at all worried about his brother, but he isn't going to show that in front of Caroline.
"I know, I heard you guys yelling before he stormed off after" Caroline crosses her arms.
"Well then, we should go start a search party," Damon says with a smirk, hiding the fact that he's extremely worried about his baby brother.
Caroline follows Damon out of the house and into his car. "He looks at her with an eyebrow raised. "What? You think I'm going to let you look for him by yourself" Caroline says.
Damon doesn't even try to fight with her on this, starting up the Camaro. He drives up, out of town. "Where are you taking us?" Caroline asks.
"Well, if you've already checked the entire town, I'm guessing you didn't go out of town?" Damon tells her. He stops the car two meters into the woods. Caroline sends another questioning look towards him.
Damon sighs, "When we were kids, and our father was drinking more than usual, I would bring Stefan into these woods, and to a cave that I found before he was born," Damon tells her, walking towards where the cave is.
"That's...really sweet of you" Caroline shocks herself by saying this.
Stefan tries his best not to cry out in pain, he's been stuck in this place for days, and the only person he's seen was a man who he still doesn't know who he is.
"I hope your brother comes to get you soon, it'll be real sad if he gets here too late and finds his baby brother dead," The man says from where he's standing in front of the teenager.
"H-how do you know my brother?" Stefan looks at him with tired eyes.
"We used to be good buds in the eighties" The man shrugs, obviously holding back information. Stefan grunts, knowing he won't be getting any more.
As Damon and Caroline near the cave, Damon stops suddenly. The movement making Caroline bump into him. "What-"
"Shhhh. Do you hear that" he whispers to the blonde.
Caroline focuses her hearing, picking up on two shallow voices. She nods her head. They turn right and start following the voices, both familiar to Damon, one his brother's and the other he just can't place.
"Oh, it seems we have company" the man whispers into Stefan's ear before taking the screwdriver in his hand and stabbing it into the teen's neck. The action causes Stefan to cry out before his eyes glaze over and he falls unconscious.
Damon and Caroline approach an old, beat down, abandon looking cabin. Just as they step up on the porch, the tall, bulky man appears in front of the two.
"Where's Stefan?" Caroline demands more than asks, fire in her eyes.
"He's not in the best shape" the man smirks, looking at Damon the entire time.
Recognition flickers in his eyes. "Jake" Damon says. "Long time, hasn't it, Damon. I've been waiting for the day to get my revenge on you, and I must say, it feels amazing. I mean you or your brother never even saw it coming, I wonder if he's okay? I'm guessing not" Jake tells, a sadistic smile on his face.
Before he can utter another word, his heart is found in Damon hand. Caroline goes into the run down cabin, he follows right after her. "So, how exactly did you know him" Caroline brakes the silence.
"We met in the eighties and blah, blah, blah, got into a battle let's say, and he wants revenge. And that's all you get to know" Damon answers her, obviously skipping on key details.
Caroline goes one way while Damon goes the other. She finds a passage leading down to a basement. She walks down the stairs and through the hall until she comes up to a door.
Looking through the small barred area of the door, she sees Stefan slumped forward in the chair.
"Oh my god, Stefan" she gasps. "Damon, get down here!" She yells as she goes into the dungeon, torture chamber room, as she likes to call it.
Damon vamps down to the basement. He freezes when he takes in his brother's appearance and what has been done to him. Quickly coming out of it, he races over, helping Caroline pull out the stakes jammed in his little brother.
Stefan's eyes start flickering open. He looks up at the two people pulling the stakes out of him. They're...saving him? His head starts to pound, quickly closing his eyes, he passes out.
"Come on, let's go," Damon tells Caroline. He picks his brother up in his arms. He's lighter than he expected.
Carrying Stefan to the Camaro reminds Damon of carrying him to bed or through the woods when he was little. He lays his little brother in the backseat.
He drives the three of them back into town, to the boarding house. During the drive, Stefan squirms around, feeling relief in his body after sitting in that chair for almost five days. Damon's eyes go to the blind spot mirror multiple times in the short drive, making sure his little brother's alright.
When they're back at the house, Damon carries his sleeping brother into the living room and lays him on the couch. Caroline sets a fire in the fireplace as he does so.
Damon stares down at his brother's relaxed face. His eyes wander down to a bright red vein on his brother's neck. Getting a closer look, he pulls down on the collar of his shirt, revealing a nasty bite. And by the looks of it, caused by a werewolf.
-
"I have a surprise for you today" Jake smiles toward Stefan.
Stefan looks behind the vampire, seeing the other man from the woods. His eyebrows knit in confusion. What's so special about a random man?
Before he could think of another question, the man came over to him. Fangs emerge from his gums and the next second, Stefan cries out in pain.
"There we go, a little spicing up" Jack chuckles. And in a second, the hybrid's head was on the ground, caused by Jack's hand slicing through his neck. "Can't have any loose ends, now can we?"
-
"Blondie," Damon says. Caroline walks over and gasps at the bite mark on Stefan's neck.
"Oh my god...what are we going to do, go to Klaus? Will he even listen or-" Caroline starts working herself up. "Calm down, I'll get this all sorted out. What I need you to do, is look after Stefan, got it?" Damon looks into her eyes.
She nods before he vamps out the door, heading to a certain Original's mansion.
Caroline sits down on the other couch, across from Stefan. She takes deep breaths, trying not to freak out.
As she's spaced off in her mind, Stefan starts twitching. He soon regains the motions to move and control his body. He opens his eyes, looking around the room he's in until his eyes land on the blond sitting across the coffee tables.
"What happened? How did I get here?" Stefan croaks out.
Caroline immediately snaps out of her thoughts. She faces the other vampire, a smile growing on her face. "You're awake! Damon and I brought you back here half an hour ago, Stef" she tells him softly.
Stefan moves to sit up, but whimpers as he does. A searing pain washes through his shoulder and across his chest and neck. Caroline vamps over beside him, putting an arm around his shoulders.
"Hey, take it easy. You've been tortured for almost a week and have a werewolf bite"
"I'm gonna die," Stefan says what he's thinking.
"No. No, you're not. Damon is out fixing this right now. We just have to wait until he gets back" Caroline says with a confident attitude. She won't let Stefan die on her watch, no way in hell.
Stefan slumps against his friend, exhausted. His head is lying against her shoulder. The fabric of the shirt she's wearing is nice and soft and feels good on his cheek.
Caroline wraps her other arm around Stefan, pulling him close in her arms. They sit there, cuddled up, as they wait for Damon to come back.
Twenty minutes later the door slams open and shut, ruining the peace and quiet.
Damon vamps into the room, a glass in hand, filled halfway with blood. Blood, she can only assume is Klaus'.
"Drink, Stef," he says in the most gentle voice Caroline has ever heard him use. He holds the glass up to the younger's lips and tilts it up.
Stefan drinks the blood until there's no more to come out. He sighs as he pulls away, feeling the pain of the bite vanish.
"You feeling better now?" Damon asks. Stefan nods his head, sitting up straighter.
Caroline unwraps her arms from him and stands, "I'll leave you guys to it" She smiles lightly before leaving the room quietly.
Stefan looks up at Damon, "How did you get Klaus to give you his blood?"
"That is something that I'll never reveal" Damon answers the younger vampire, and sits beside him.
"...I'm sorry I ruined everything" Stefan quietly says, looking down at his feet.
Damon stiffens before turning to face his brother. He places a hand on his shoulder. "I didn't mean that, you didn't ruin everything, Mom's death wasn't your fault, and I know you didn't want to be alone. I'm sorry I told you they were, Stef" Damon says softly.
Stefan looks up at him, tears in his eyes, "You mean it?"
"Of course I do. Come here" Damon pulls his baby brother into his arms, hugging him close to his chest. Stefan tightly hugs him back.
"I love you, you know that, right?" Damon asks his little brother. Stefan looks up at him, nodding "I love you too".
Hi!
If you feeling like it, could you do a one shot in which Klaus and Reader have been together for a long time and love each other but when they move to Mystic falls Reader can see and feel Klaus distancing himself and crushing over Caroline?
Like he would start spending more time trying to get her attention and watching her, while putting his missions and schemes over Reader. She sees that his sketches are less about her and more about Caroline and she feels alone, heartbroken and ignored. Then she hears Klaus tell Caroline the same confession that he told her when they got together ("He is your first love, but I intend to be your last") and she runs away to collect her things from their shared room.
But what she doesn't know is that it was all a plan to make Caroline fall in love with him and tell him the plan of the Salvatore. At the end Klaus finds put about her missing and search for her but she is scared that now that he doesn't love her anymore he will hurt her to keep her mouth shut about the secrets that she knew so she goes on the run.
The ending is up to you ofc. Thank you!!
I'm not the only one
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x reader Summary: You and Klaus have been together for ages. You swore to each other Always and Forever. You could always rely on him, and the original hybrid trusted you with his plans. But how long can you turn a blind eye to his sudden interest in a certain Caroline Forbes? And after hearing him say the same words to her that practically started your relationship, you realize that maybe after all, you're not the only one for him. Warning(s): angst - because I'm having a terrible week and I needed to get rid of these negative feelings, Klaus cheating (kiss), broken reader, little comfort at the end because I don't like sad endings. Nonsense from me: I hope you like it! World count: 6,2k
Tumblr media
You and me, we made a vow For better or for worse
You and Klaus have been together for a very long time. You stood by him as you built the might of New Orleans together—a safe home, a haven—until Mikael showed up and sent everything to hell. Despite this defeat, you were still with your beloved, escaping with him from his cruel father and trying to defeat Mikael once and for all. His siblings were like family to you (even though you never formalized your relationship). You've been Klaus' fiancée—kind of part of the family—but he could still get rid of you if he wanted at any time.
But you tried not to worry too much about it, knowing full well that Klaus didn't want to expose you to the wrath of his enemies and the special attention of his father if he married you. After all, you were still an ordinary vampire. A simple heart rip, a werewolf bite, or a wooden stake through your heart could kill you very easily and quickly.
You didn't need to make it official. His love and devotion were enough for you.
But since your arrival in Mystic Falls and (finally) breaking his curse, your relationship has started to sour.
Things between you two changed when certain Caroline Forbes showed up on the picture...
I can't believe you let me down But the proof is in the way it hurts For months on end I've had my doubts
One day Klaus' full devotion and love for you shone bright and uninterrupted from him, and the next day he completely ignored you, spending the entire fucking prom with that blonde bitch. The merciful, compassionate look from Esther and the Mystic Falls gang was the worst feeling you've felt in 300 years.
But you tried to justify his behavior when it turned out that his mother really wanted to kill them all. You thought he had distanced himself from you and turned his attention to this young vampire to protect you from Esther.
However, a few months later, when he completely lost interest in you, he stopped texting you during the day, and you fell asleep before he came home and got up when the bed was cold on his side (sometimes you even doubted he was coming home at all), and worst of all, his sketches were all about sweet Caroline—you began to have serious suspicions that he was doing all of this for "your own good".
Sarcasm completely intentional.
Of course, Elijah tried to explain away his brother's attitude, but you knew better. If Nik really cared about you, he'd be communicating with you about more than just the magic cure for vampirism that he had to get for Elena.
Even that fucking doppelgänger and her bodyguards talked to him more than you, his (probably now in name only) fiancée.
Denying every tear I wish this would be over now But I know that I still need you here
You sighed, folded your napkin, wiped your tears, and got up from the table. You blew out the red candles that had practically burned out and left the dining room, leaving the 300-year "engagement" dinner with Klaus on the table.
You went to the kitchen and took out of the fridge a bottle of wine specially chilled and stored for this occasion, from the exact year you met. You slowly walked up the stairs. The sound of your high heels hitting the marble steps echoed through the empty mansion, mocking your loneliness.
As you walked down the hall towards your room, you noticed that the light was on in one of the bedrooms. Without thinking, you entered the room of your favorite original and leaned against the door frame, watching with amusement his attempts to use the phone.
"Fuck. Stupid mortal device." at one point, the man turned on the flashlight, blinding himself. "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?!" I burst out laughing as Kol fell off his bed. He looked around the room in surprise, blushing with embarrassment when he saw that I had witnessed this compromising event.
"Kol Mikaelson. The terror of the living and the dead, the deadliest and most dangerous of the original vampires, was defeated by the flashlight on his phone. Rebekah won't believe me when I tell her."
"Very funny. Shouldn't you be fucking my brother today on your anniversary instead of standing here and torturing me?" he muttered, getting up off the floor and brushing off the invisible dust.
"Apparently he has other priorities. Should I be worried you wanted to eavesdrop on us?"
"Don't flatter my brother. We both know I can hear better sounds from you if you'll let me. Besides, I'm not a weirdo. I was about to curl up the moment I heard the first sound of danger."
"Every day, I consider your offer more and more. And I seriously doubt Klaus will hold a grudge against you after that."
"Wait a minute. 200 years ago, you said you'd rather be celibate than sleep with me, and Nik threatened to castrate me with a rusty shovel. Is it that bad between you two?"
"Come on. It's great! That's why, on one of our most important anniversaries, I'm standing in his brother's room." you groaned, trying to hold back the tears welling up in your eyes.
You were so weak and naive, still only wanting the company of a man who hadn't said a single word to you in months that wasn't related to his plans.
"Okay, I understand... wait. What's this? Can I see tears? All right, that's enough of this. Get your ass up and let's go drink and dance. Now that you've dressed up, we'll make good use of your short, sexy dress. I heard those pups from the Mystic Falls gang are having a party at the Salvatore's house. Let's make a mess, darling!" he tried to comfort me by pulling me into a tight hug and evoking any sort of giggle.
"That's why you're my favorite. But don't even think you'll get a sip of this wine." I said with a half smile, trying to somehow appreciate his attempt to cheer me up.
"Don't blame me. I had to try, darling. Now go fix that mesmerizing makeup, and I'll see you downstairs."
You say I'm crazy Cause you don't think I know what you've done But when you call me baby I know I'm not the only one
Salvatores may have been a pain in the ass, but they knew how to throw a party. It was child's play for Kol and you to get inside and empty their liquor cellar. You laughed and joked until another couple showed up at our hideout.
You sat hidden among the barrels so that you had a view of the stairs leading up. At their feet stood probably your least favorite couple...
"Why did you just let Tyler come to the party? You're not going to tell me there's a heart in that empty space near your lungs?"
"Calm down, love. It's your birthday. You shouldn't be nervous."
"I get nervous every time I see you. Now. Tell me, what am I supposed to do to repay you for bringing my boyfriend here and letting him stay at my party? Because I don't believe you did all this out of the kindness of your heart and you don't want anything in return." she said suspiciously, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I want nothing, love. Consider it a birthday present." he replied nonchalantly, shoving his hands into the pockets of his suit pants. He didn't even wear those smart suits on your birthday; he hated them. You don't know if it was because he felt like a second Elijah in them or because he was used to his henley. Apparently, SHE was worth sacrificing a bit of his comfort.
"You already gave one to me. Actually, a lot. What's all this Klaus for? Why do you try so hard for me and make sure I have a wonderful day, only to bring my boyfriend back at the end of it?"
"He's your first love. I intend to be your last. However long it takes. Until then, let me spoil yourself. Seduce in all the ways you ever dream of." you felt as if the whole world stopped for a moment around you as you heard the same enchanting words coming out of his mouth to her that he had used to convince you to run away with him 300 years ago.
"Seriously? This goes against all the rules of flirting, without even mentioning that you already have a girlfriend."
"Y/N? She's only my minion. A person from dirty work. She imagines something more about us, and that's it. I never loved her. Not the way I care about you, Caroline." sure, go ahead. Go all out. Kiss and fuck against this wall. Anyway, your heart is already dead.
"Klaus I..." the blonde shook her head, staring in shock at the hybrid with a small disbelieving smile. Klaus walked over to her, taking her hands in his. Their mouths were centimeters away from joining in a kiss right in front of your eyes.
"Care! Where are you?! It's time for cake!" the screams of her friends saved you from watching the love of your life kiss someone else, adore someone else, and give his heart, his lips, his eyes, and his touch to someone else.
You could only watch silently as Klaus offered her his arm and helped her up the stairs. Always a gentleman… at least when he wanted something or expected something in return.
There was dead silence in the room. You could feel Kol's sympathetic gaze burning a hole in the left side of your head.
"Y/N, he didn't mean..."
"It's okay, Kol. I've got ears, a brain, and pretty good eyes. I know what I saw and heard. I think that's enough fun for today. Thanks for trying to make me feel better." you cut him off, seeing panic instead of surprise in his eyes. So his siblings knew everything... that's probably why Rebekah left without saying a word.
"No! Y/N, wait! You don't..." before he could say anything else, I ran out of there at vampire speed.
"Shit. Klaus is going to kill me." a man said to himself after she disappeared.
You've been so unavailable Now sadly I know why Your heart is unobtainable Even though Lord knows you kept mine
Honestly, you should have known it would end like this. From the beginning of your relationship, a swarm of girls followed him wherever he went. But then he only saw you.
"I don't like it here." I snorted, eyeing the werewolf bitch who had been fawning over Nik since the party started.
"Here or her, love? It may seem that one letter means nothing, but as you hear, it changes the whole meaning of your statement." the original snorted, throwing his arm around my shoulders and pulling me into his possessive grip.
"None of them. Did we really have to throw this ball?" I complained, catching the lady werewolf leader's eye and kissing Mikaelson greedily to "mark my territory in front of that bitch." I pulled away from him as a smug smirk began to form on his lips, interfering with my ministry. "Why are you smiling like that? What's so funny?"
"For the first time, I see jealousy on your beautiful face. I have to admit it's a nice change."
"Please, as if half the women in the world aren't already trying to take you away from me. One puny wolf cub poses no threat to me, much less arouses my jealousy."
"Of course. So kiss me again. Just in case she somehow didn't get the message."
I snorted, pulling him to me by his necklace, and biting his lips to the blood. I licked my mouth as I climbed onto his lap and straddled him. I ran my hand through his hair and started leaving small kisses along the column of his throat.
"We're in public, love." he purred, wrapping one hand around my neck and pressing down gently. I growled, biting into his skin and taking a few gulps of his blood.
"And when exactly did it ever bother you?" I whispered, continuing to mark his skin. I smiled mischievously as I saw shivers run through his body.
The moment I felt his own fangs glide against my neck, I moved away from him at arm's length. I smiled victoriously at his annoyed look.
"What happened with being in public thing, love?"
"Who could resist such tempting beauty and strength? Definitely not me." he growled with a smirk, grabbing me bride-style and moving us with vampire speed to his room, specifically his bed.
"Elijah will be furious with us if we disappear again. Your werewolf friend is unlikely to be pleased with the lack of your wonderful presence either." I moaned as he started tearing off my dress.
"It's a good thing I don't care about any of them now. I'm yours. Only yours, my queen. And you're mine. And I will be proving it to you for always and forever."
You should know that one day you will fall from his pedestal.
You say I'm crazy Cause you don't think I know what you've done But when you call me baby I know I'm not the only one
I felt sad, to say the least. And a bit lonely.
For a month, Nik had become... colder, more distant. It started with us no longer having dinner together. Stupid observation, I know, but I couldn't help but miss his presence. He disappeared somewhere, fighting with the Salvatore brothers for Elena's blood. I understood his need to create a hyrbyds—someone like himself, his own pack that wouldn't leave him—but that didn't mean he had to do it alone. I could help him. I always helped him. However, my role began to be limited to guarding his hybrids and his sister.
Then he stopped writing to me. He could go all day without speaking to me, which was starting to worry me, so like any normal person, I decided to talk to my partner about my concerns. I just forgot that there is no such thing as normal between me and Niklaus.
"Love, don't you know how many things I have on my mind? If I had to write to you every second of every day, I would never have achieved what I have. Don't be a child who demands constant attention, you know that I love only you. There is no other woman whose arms I would rather return to every night."
I felt stupid. Like an oversensitive madwoman who needs to be in contact with her beloved 24 hours a day. But over time, he even stopped coming back to our bed, and if he did, it was so late that I had already fallen asleep. Sometimes the smell of his perfume left on his pillow was the only contact I had with him during the day.
So I made him a real jealousy scene. But that only made me feel worse than before.
"Y/N. My light and life, you know how much I care about you. If it were up to me, I would never leave our room or your delightful presence. But you can't reproach me or make unreasonable scenes of jealousy when all I'm doing is keeping our family safe. I thought you could go a few hours without my wonderful presence? Besides, do you think that when I'm away from you, I don't spend a second thinking about you? You are with me, in my mind and memory, always and everywhere, but I cannot let myself be distracted and forget about my main goals to succumb to your captivating beauty. I'd be lost in you forever, forgetting what I have to do."
He could make me feel real remorse, but subconsciously I felt that something was wrong with all of this and that he wasn't telling me the whole truth.
He adopted a different tactic. He gave me some of his responsibilities, which kept me busy for half the day. Not that I missed him any less.
My suspicions only increased after I discovered a large number of sketches by another woman, the same woman he'd invited to his mother's damn ball, in his art room. However, I decided not to do anything about it and wait for the situation to develop.
I was tired of hearing that I was crazy.
I have loved you for many years Maybe I am just not enough You've made me realise my deepest fear By lying and tearing us up
Maybe you've been crazy and still madly in love with a man who's clearly been using your love and sincere, blind devotion all this time, but that doesn't mean you'll watch him slowly give himself to another just to stay with him just a little longer. You still had some dignity.
Besides, you had to leave. You saw what Klaus did to people he no longer needed. If he was capable of disposing, compelling, and torturing his minions, what will he do with you, the woman who knows all his family's darkest secrets, when he no longer needs you?
You had to run as fast and as far as possible.
If you're lucky enough, you'll cross the US border before he realizes you're gone. Maybe you'd even join Katherine? She was always sending silly postcards and postcards from pretty places to encourage you to run away from the hybrid. Now seemed like the right time to join her on the journey of a lifetime.
Despite your rational, cool approach to the situation, you couldn't stop your stupid tears from spilling out of your eyes as you packed all the necessities into your suitcase.
It took you an hour to recover from seeing a 19th-century photo of you and the Mikaelson family. You did it in New Orleans, right after you took over the city completely. Marcel stood with a big smile, embracing an equally cheerful Rebekah from behind. Elijah was holding Kol by the shirt so he wouldn't accidentally pounce on the human-photographer, and you and Klaus stood side by side, staring at each other with so much love in their eyes. Your big diamond glistened on your finger under the light of the lamps.
When did it all go to hell?
You stuffed the photo frame into your suitcase and slammed it shut with a bang.
Before you went downstairs, you stopped by his art room for a moment. With a sigh, you took one last look at all the old portraits he had painted, and after finding a piece of paper, you left a message on his latest sketchbook dedicated to HER.
It was a fun few centuries together, Klaus. But I knew I would never be the only one for you. Love and hate, Y/N P.S. You can give her that.
The ring you've worn for 300 years laughed at you, glowing in the glow of the street lamps as you left him on the note.
Without thinking twice, you ran out of the house and loaded your bags into your car. You cast one last longing glance at the house before getting into your car.
You angrily wiped away the tears that kept you from seeing the road ahead.
You knew only one quick and effective way to get rid of your unwanted, desperate emotions, but would you be able to do it? Stop feeling anything?
On the other hand, what was stopping you from doing it? You had nothing and no one in this world anyway.
You say I'm crazy Cause you don't think I know what you've done But when you call me baby I know I'm not the only one
"Is he cheating on me?" Rebekah spat out the wine she was drinking in shock and started coughing. After she had relatively recovered, she started staring at me like I was crazy.
"What?"
"Your brother. Is he cheating on me?" I repeated, sipping my own wine and staring blankly at the fireplace.
"Nik?"
"No, Elijah." I snorted, tucking my legs under me.
"Are you crazy? If one thing is certain about my brother, it's that he loves you madly. What in the bloody hell made you think otherwise?"
"Let's see… he avoids me, spends his days with God knows where and with whom, and hired me as a personal babysitter for his hyrbyds and a searcher for new werewolf packs, of course, from a distance, because even though he treats this damn house like a hotel, he makes me stay in it like a ghost in a fucking crypt! I'm sick of this, Bekah. I know he's hiding something from me. Okay, he may have secrets and plans of his own that he doesn't want to tell anyone; he has done it before. But this time, he's crossing the fucking line." in my frantic speech, I didn't notice that I was swinging my glass from side to side, spilling its contents onto the couch. I sighed, not really caring. It's not like Klaus would notice. He would have to stay here for more than an hour first.
I staggered to the bar to pour myself another glass, but Bekah's gentle grip on mine stopped me.
"Maybe we've had enough of this wine, eh?" she asked thoughtfully, taking the glass from me and placing it on the bar. Seeing tears welling up in my eyes, she pulled me close to her and started stroking my hair reassuringly.
"What have I done wrong, Bekah? Why doesn't he love me anymore?" I asked, sobbing, letting myself let out all of the stress and helplessness I'd felt for months.
"Shh… it's okay, darling. Everything will come back to normal, trust me. Just be a little more patient."
"Rebekah! Y/N! There is a way to make Elena human again. We can have our hybrids back! Of course, we will have to modify our plans a bit. We can't have a repeat of what happened last time. Caroline told me… What happened, love? Are you crying?"
Klaus suddenly came back and walked over to where the two of us were cuddling. He looked at me clearly distressed, but he didn't seem to notice that my sobs only increased after hearing HER name fall out of his lips.
"It's nothing, Nik. We got a little drunk, and now we're more sensitive, aren't we?" Rebekah thought on the spur of the moment, stepping away from me. I just nodded my head, falling into the hybrid's open arms.
Ironically, the man who had driven me to this state was the only one who could comfort me in any way.
"I got you, love. Let's take you to our bedroom."
He took me in his arms, slowly carrying me upstairs. Along the way, I couldn't help but wonder if I was the only one he called "love"?
I know I'm not the only one I know I'm not the only one I know I'm not the only one
Third-person's POV
"KOL! How could you take her there?!" the hybrid screamed, throwing another bottle of scotch he found in sight at his brother.
Klaus found a note left by Y/N. So was their empty bedroom, stripped of her belongings. The lingering scent of her perfume was the only trace that she had once lived here.
And he was furious with his brother. The dagger and white oak powder were safely tucked away in his pocket, and he was just waiting for the right moment to punish his brother. He took you right into the middle of his plan to seduce Caroline to get the information he needed. Kol sat her in the goddamn, fucking front row so she could watch him fawning over another woman while Klaus was only thinking of getting this whole Mytsic Falls fiasco over as soon as possible and holed up somewhere with his love for a well-deserved holiday.
Now he couldn't.
She disappeared.
And he had an insatiable lust for murder. His brother will be in that bloody coffin, where he belongs, by tomorrow.
"I wasn't the one of us who came up with the brilliant plan of chasing some blonde while your girlfriend was pining for you, you criminal genius!!" Kol shouted back and threw one of his brother's paintings at him.
If he was going to die today, at least he would defend himself to the last breath. In fact, he knew the worst thing his brother would do was put him in that fucking coffin. Unless he can survive long enough until Elijah returns.
"You know perfectly well that I did it to protect her! She is an ordinary vampire; any stick can kill her! Thanks to my false interest in Caroline, I killed two birds with one stone. I kept Y/N safe and could extract the information I needed. But she wasn't supposed to know anything until we left together! AND BECAUSE OF YOU, SHE'S NOT HERE!" he growled, attacking his brother. He lunged at the younger vampire, pinning him to the ground and trying to pierce his heart with his dagger. Kol, however, tried to defend himself and did his best to keep the blade away from his chest.
"NO! Nik, wait! I can help you find her; we'll take her back to you; just don't do this to me! I can't come back to this coffin, please, brother!"
"You've done enough."
"NIKLAUS!" Kol breathed a sigh of relief as Elijah pushed their brother off him and snatched the dagger from his hand. "You have to calm down."
"Don't tell me what to do, and don't you dare take sides with this traitor! He brought Y/N there on purpose to destroy our relationship! You've always flirted with her, but if you think that's how you'll finally have her, you're sorely mistaken, brother." he spat out the last word with such revulsion that Kol flinched, beginning to feel a real fear of Klaus. "I'm going to burn this damn world to get to her and disprove all the lies you told her about my action."
"I never wanted her for me, she's like a sister to me." he choked out, trying to reason with the maddened hybrid. He had never seen him like this before. He must have really cared about Y/N if he was willing to tear the world apart just to find her.
"It is because of you and your actions that Y/N escaped, and now you must face the truth and accept the consequences of your actions, Niklaus. You can't blame Kol for that. Besides, I don't think Y/N approves of you daggering us again."
"So what am I supposed to do now? She ran away from me!"
"Calm down first and hide that ridiculous stake you're hiding behind your back; none of us is your enemy. We will find her. You have my word."
The hybrid growled something under its breath in agreement and left the room, presumably to hide the originals' doomsday weapons once again. Kol stood next to Elijah, staring at their brother's retreating figure.
"How the hell did he get it?"
"I don't know, but be glad I came on time. When it comes to Y/N, he's capable of doing a lot of things." he muttered, following the footsteps of the hybrid.
"Yes, but he wouldn't kill me, would he? Elijah?! Would he?!" panicked, he ran after his older brother, deciding that until they found Y/N he would stick to his suit jacket like his life depended on it. Which was actually true.
And I know, and I know, and I know, And I know, and I know, and I know, know I know I'm not the only one
Second-person's POV
You've been hiding with Katherine in her family home in Bulgaria for a month now. You honestly doubted it was safe to live in a place so important to her, with Klaus' minions and debtors looking for you all over the world, but you didn't question her methods. After all, she had been running from him for 500 years. She was more skilled than you.
In addition to visiting her hometown, going to various human events, and sunbathing in her garden, you spent your days reflecting on your relationship with Nik. The original left you at least 20 voicemails every day. You didn't complain about the lack of contact between the two of you. Sometimes you listened to part of them, sometimes they ended up in the trash, and sometimes Katherine took your phone so you wouldn't even think about picking up the call from your ex-lover.
But they all said the same thing: "I'll find you."
The vampire tried everything in her power to make you forget about him. However, dating, flirting, and sex escapades with people as drunk as you have not yielded any results. Besides, it ended when the news reported that one of these unfortunates had died with his head detached from the rest of his body. You two still have no idea how Klaus found out (because it was clearly his job), but you didn't want innocent people on your conscience, so Katherine stopped looking for new guys for you.
However, this particular incident was not repeated. None of your one-night stands have lost a life except this one. You guessed that Klaus, in his frustration (he must have had a really bloody day or something), sent you this kind of warning. Or maybe Caroline just successfully occupied him with something else, so he stopped threatening you.
You shuddered.
You couldn't think about him being with her like you two used to be. Not yet. Not when Katherine just turned your switch back on.
So instead, you went back to tending your garden. Even before you met Klaus, you had a weakness for growing flowers, exotic shrubs, and plants. Now you have more than enough time and space to get back into your hobby. And Katherine approved of everything you did, as long as it wasn't about Klaus. You could have sworn you'd seen her water some of your plants herself. And you could confidently say that you both love this place.
Your phone buzzed again today. Klaus. This time, instead of a voicemail, he sent you a text.
"Him again? Why don't we just burn this phone, dance around the fire, sing about how much we hate him, and buy you a new phone? Maybe with some handsome, charming man or woman bundled?"
"What if he finally gets tired of chasing after me and leaves me alone? How will I know if I change my number?"
"Very funny. Do you think Caroline will make him a saint?" I froze at those words, pausing before cutting a dead twig. "Fuck. I'm sorry, I didn't want to…"
"No, everything's fine. You're right. I should be able to function normally now and stop tensing up every time I hear one of their names."
"Well, after being with this maniac for 300 years, I believe you may still be experiencing harmful side effects."
"Hold." you threw her your phone. "Do what you want with it. I'm going to change clothes, and we'll have fun in the city. If I remember correctly, there's supposed to be some kind of mask festival there, right? So it's perfect for us."
"And that's the attitude I want to see!"
You smiled as you walked away from her, laughing, towards the house. Who knows? Maybe today you'll find the only one for you.
~•♤♤♤•~
"Hurry up! I want cotton candy!" you tried to shout over the crowd of people around you and grabbed the reluctant brunette by the hand, dragging her with you.
"You're acting like a child, but you're happy, so I'll forgive you this time."
"Come on. Just admit you like it."
"Yes, my dream was to go to the ferris wheel, ride bumper cars, and eat cotton candy with a 300-year-old vampire wearing a mask that prevented me from breathing or eating a normal human meal."
"See, I told you you'd like it." the brunette rolled her eyes, pulled your arm into a half-hug, and smirked mischievously. Oh no. Yoy knew that look.
"The hot brunette on the 4th has been staring at you ever since you got in that stupid line. Go and have fun, or I'll eat all your cotton candy."
"But Kath..."
"Don't "Kath" me! Get your ass over to him or I'll push you myself!"
"Terrorist." you snorted, taking her arm off you and walking over to the man who was staring at me.
If you were human, you wouldn't have approached him. He was at least... strange. He was standing in the shadows, leaning against one of the least frequented stalls. His mask covered his entire face, unlike the others; even part of his hair was hidden from people's eyes. Besides, Katherine must have gone blind in her old age. His hair wasn't brown; it was blonde. Dark blonde...
You shuddered. It couldn't be Niklaus. You must have been paranoid. If he had found us, he would have hit you without thinking. He wouldn't be lurking in the shadows for you; he'd get rid of the problem right away. You weren't naive; you knew too much for him to let you live.
But you couldn't shake the feeling of something familiar as you looked at the stranger.
"Hi, I'm Y/N. You have a very nice disguise." you smiled and extend your hand in greeting.
The stranger took your hand and put it to the golden metal mouth carved into his mask. Without knowing why, you shivered with excitement. You felt so weird. Like you've done something like this before.
And then that single, most important memory in your whole life reminded you why you should run away from a stranger as fast as you can.
You've already met him. At a masquerade ball, at your cousin's estate, the ones fucking 300 years ago wore the same fucking mask.
It was Klaus.
You were about to yank your hand out of his grip, but he pulled you closer, turning your back to his strong chest. He took three steps back, completely drowning both of you in the dark. He dropped his mask, pressed his hand over your mouth, preventing you from uttering a scream, and rested his chin against your shoulder, breathing deeply as he buried his nose in your hair.
Katherine will never find your dead body.
Your heart beats faster with each silent second.
"Hello, love. I think I finally caught you." under other circumstances, you would quiver with excitement as he whispered those words lewdly in your ear. Now that his love was located elsewhere, you were afraid of what he might come up with for you.
You trembled in his arms, waiting for his next step.
Instead of some sudden, no doubt painful move on his part that you were expecting, the original took off his coat and put it on you, making sure all the buttons were buttoned up.
You couldn't do anything but watch him in shock. You're sure if you weren't so tense and stressed, your jaw would have dropped to the floor instead of clenching nervously in anticipation.
"Let's take you home, love. We all missed you." he grabbed your hand, trying to lead you out of the festival.
"Won't you kill me?" the hybrid froze, slowly turning to face you. He cupped your cheek gently with his hand and looked at you with pure love and adoration in his eyes that more or less masked the sadness behind them.
What the fuck?
"The only person I want to kill right now is my little brother. You, love, are all that matters to me."
He cupped your lips in a passionate, longing kiss, entwining his hands in your hair. You moaned, giving in to the pleasant feeling of being close to his body. At one point, fireworks exploded around you, causing you to shudder slightly in surprise. However, Nik continued kissing you as if his life depended on it, with a small, happy smirk.
Wait a minute…
Realization has passed through your mind.
He didn't want to kill you.
He was looking for you because he missed you.
He loved you.
So he and that blonde monkey…
You pulled away from him, slapping him across the cheek. He sighed, rubbing the slightly sore spot.
"I admit, I deserved it…"
"What the hell were you doing with Caroline?! You think you can play with her behind my back and come for me after a month like nothing ever happened?! You're in so much fucking trouble… why the hell are you smiling?!" you shouted as you saw a satisfied, blissful, even grateful smile form on his face.
He must have gone completely insane this month without you.
"You have no idea…" he paused, reaching for you to pull out a small velvet box from the pocket of his coat and open it to reveal your ring. "How much I missed you."
"Don't even think that after all this, I'm just jumping into your arms. You must have been up to some stupid plan of yours, AGAIN, that involved that bitch and instead of telling me anything, AGAIN, you decided to do everything yourself and got so involved that you forgot about everything else, AGAIN?"
"Maybe?" he glanced at you, embarrassed, fiddling nervously with the ring box in his hands.
"God. You're lucky, I love you." you growled, taking the ring from him and putting it on your finger, then pulling him to yourself and kissing him hungrily, trying to make up for those lost (BECAUSE OF HIM) weeks.
He moaned into your lips, willingly committing to return your kiss. You pulled away from him before it turned into a full, hot makeup session between the two of you.
"I have to go back to Katherine's for my stuff. I'll text you when and where we'll meet."
"I will go with you…"
"NO! I will not expose Katherine to you. I'd been waiting for you for months in a cold, empty bed. I believe that you will last a few hours without me."
"Hours?"
"You wanna change it into days?" you asked, raising an eyebrow in challenge.
"No. I'll wait for you." he replied quickly, not wanting to part with you for longer than it necessary.
"Perfect." you gave him a quick goodbye kiss and ran back to Katherine.
Well, maybe you were the only one after all. - you thought with a smile, fiddling with the ring that was adorning your finger again.
Previous chapter || You can both feel a shift in the air around you. Sitting in each other's presence the feeling begins to come over you, “Buck, I don’t wanna go” You whisper softly gripping his hand tight. “Please don’t leave me, Doll” his voice trembling in fear, You can’t help but shed some tears because You don’t want to go either, but You have no control over this. “Come back to me baby, please” He whispers holding you close to him, his please sounds absolutely broken which makes your heart heavier. “I love y-,” as the shift overtakes You, You can still feel his presence. Shedding a few tears your heart feels heavy and You hope that where you end up next is a place in which you will be safe and protected like how You were with Bucky.
Tumblr media
There was a pounding in your head. Your eyelids were heavy when you opened them, and by the way your stomach rumbled, you knew you had to eat something rather sooner than later.
You looked at your surroundings. You were lying in a queen-sized bed with a cherry print bedding set, a nightstand to your left that had a pink alarm clock that seemed to be broken by having been beaten against the wall too many times.
"Wakey-wakey."
You screamed. You finally acknowledged the pretty blonde that was lying next to you.
"Caroline Forbes?"
It really was her. Her perfect golden locks were around her head like a halo, and her shiny green eyes had smudged mascara around them.
She was as stunning as a beauty queen, all the same.
"Are we on a full-name basis now, Y/N L/N?" She teased you, and yawned, stretching her arms and sitting up in the bed.
"What happened last night?" You asked, the memories all blurred and confusing in your head.
She grinned at you. "Before or after you confessed to Elijah Mikaelson that he was the hottest man on earth?"
Oh. My. God.
"I need context, Care."
She squinted her eyes at you.
"I knew we shouldn't have let you get in a drinking contest with Damon."
"Damon Salvatore?"
"Who else would it be? You're so weird this morning, jeez."
Of course. You were in The Vampire Diaries universe. You didn't know where this left you, or why you had a previous life here. Maybe it was a pattern. The first two times you didn't belong. The third, you did. In other universes, you were an anomaly. A version of you probably didn't exist in those places.
Here, you could see by the memory board in the wall with pictures of you with Bonnie Bennett, Elena Gilbert, Tyler Lockwood, Matt Donovan and the Salvatore siblings that you actually belonged here.
Hell, there even was a polaroid taken by you of Rebekah Mikaelson flipping the camera (you) off, the caption "Barbie Klaus" written with permanent marker under the picture.
Like everything was right.
Except, something was missing.
As your mind drifted to Bucky's lovingly gaze on you and the feel of his hand in your strong grip, the way you were holding on for dear life when you shifted again...
You got up too fast, almost falling in the process, and ran to the toilet. Caroline was behind you next, holding your hair while you threw up.
You had tears in your eyes when she turned the shower on and helped you out of your clothes, washing your hair without another word as you sobbed uncontrollably.
Caroline held you in her arms when you couldn't formulate words, brushing your hair and getting you into something comfortable.
"Do you want to lay down?"
You nodded your head negatively.
"I need to tell you something, Care."
"What is it?" Her voice was soft but you knew she was worried about you. She was your best friend in the whole world.
This world, at least.
"I'm not Y/N. Well, not the Y/N you grew up with, at least. I'm from another universe, and I'm scared to death because I want to go back to my fiancé, but I don't belong there either."
You told her the whole story, from how you were just struggling with too much work and had nothing going on in your life, to the Comic Con event and how you just woke up the next day to find yourself in Bucky's universe. How you jumped through dimensions, finding your favorite characters and bonding with them.
You left out the part that you were obsessed with The Vampire Diaries in your teens. You were not about to tell Caroline she was a character in a show and all the shit that was about to happen to her and each one of your friends in Mystic Falls.
After you finished, Caroline stared at you with wide eyes. "We can't seem to catch a break, can we?"
"What do I do now, Care?"
"Babe, you're friends with vampires, witches, a werewolf and the originals. You have Matt too, but he's human like you so he's useless about anything involving the supernatural. No offense. We'll find a way."
You sniffed, hugging her. "Thank you, Care. Now tell me what the hell was last night about!"
She laughed.
"We threw you a birthday party. Bonnie casted a spell on you so you wouldn't get too drunk when you and Damon started taking shots."
"Oh, crap. And why Elijah was there? Doesn't seem like his type of fun."
"It's not." She snorted. "But he came anyway because he adores you."
It felt weird when she said that, the thought of you with another man making you sick. There was a little flirting now and then, but you couldn't forget that you were about to get married.
Why did it hurt so fucking much?
"Now get up! We're doing research before you leave us too." Caroline laughed humorlessly. Deep down, you knew she was just as afraid as you.
Tumblr media
"So, you've made all of us come here, and not that I want to bitch about it, but I had to change shifts last minute, just for you to come with this nonsense story when in reality Y/N could just be losing her shit?"
"Matt!" Elena glared at him.
"I'm not blaming her! I'm just saying, with all the things we have to go through because of you guys, maybe she's just so stressed that her mind is finally shattering?"
"For the love of Taylor Swift, shut up." Damon rolled his eyes at Matt. "Don't worry, kid. We all believe you and we know you're not crazy."
"Not that I'm condoning with that asshole, but what if Y/N is really going insane?"
"Tyler, I'm right here!" You crossed your arms, outraged. "I didn't give you this shit when I found out you were a werewolf." You complained.
Caroline called everyone to the Salvatore's boarding house, just so you didn't have to repeat the same story over and over again. That's why she had the Mikaelson siblings on the speakerphone too.
"Bon, what do you think?" Elena turned to the witch, who had a serious look on her face.
"I don't know. Granny never had the chance to explain to me about multiple simultaneous lives. Let alone the multiverse jumping. All I know is that is possible, but I don't play with this kind of magic. It bends all the rules we know of."
"I'd ask my mother if she wasn't dead." Klaus finally spoke on the other side, and you almost smiled at his words. "The best I can do to help sweet Y/N is get Freya to do some research."
"Thank you so much, Klaus." You sighed, feeling a little bit better.
"In the meanwhile, what can we do?" Stefan asked.
"If there's nothing we can do, we can put her in a straitjacket."
"Too soon, Damon." You murmured, sending him a death glare.
Tumblr media
Caroline took on a mission to distract you from your distress. She dressed you up and took you to the Mystic Grill, ordered pancakes and soda for you both, and took you to see the most important spots in the city.
"That's Elena's house. We tried to smoke cigarettes in her room when we were fifth graders and we spent a whole bottle of her mother's perfume to mask the tobacco scent. There's a spot under her rug where we put them out."
"In Bonnie's place, she finally told you she was a witch."
"Damon and you were playing stupid games as always, and he dared you to go to the forest on a full moon, that's when Tyler almost bit you. I tried to save you and he bit me instead, so Klaus had to come here and cure me."
"Matt, Vicky and you used to play hide and seek in the church when you guys were little."
"Oh! You're gonna love this one! Elijah gave you a daylight ring right there in the gazebo! He told that if you ever transitioned you'd need one and it would be nice if that was already taken care of."
The memories were permanently imprinted on you. How you and Caroline always teamed up against Bonnie and Elena when the four of you fought, how angry you were at Matt when he couldn't let Elena move on, how heartbroken you became at Vicky's funeral.
And the day Elijah gave you the daylight ring, you were so touched by his gesture that you spilled "I love you." in a serious tone before hugging him. He was taken back by your reaction, but he hugged you back.
The sun was setting in the horizon, when Caroline received a call. She smiled at you in a cryptic way.
"Okay, I'm taking her."
The whole drive back to the Salvatore's board house was silent. You suddenly had a feeling your time in Mystic Falls was ending.
Caroline pulled over and walked you to the front door. She sighed.
"This is my cue. I hope you find what you're looking for, Y/N. And I just want you to know that you are my best friend and you are loved in every universe you exist. Please, never forget me."
You sniffed, and hugged her tight. Caroline's delicate form embraced you.
"Thank you, Care. I love you to the moon and back. And hopefully, in a few hours, you'll have your Y/N version back."
Caroline took off full vampire speed, leaving you alone on the Salvatore doorstep. The door opened, and a gasp left your lips.
"Elijah?"
"Whenever you say "I love you", you always say "to the moon and back" too. Must've been too much on her."
You looked over your shoulder, grateful for everything Caroline has done for you in the last hours. She let you go without putting up a fight, just so you didn't have to worry about her too.
"I guess we are alone?" You raised your brow, and Elijah's lip curled upwards.
He offered you his hand and as you took it in your own, he guided you to the living room.
"Freya and Bonnie crafted this." He took a little bottle of his pocket, the content a red liquid that resembled blood. "You just have to drink it, and you'll be off again. I guess you'd like to finally do this in your own terms."
"I don't know what to say."
"Then allow me, Y/N. You are a kind soul. You told me once that I deserved to have a life of my own and pursue my own dreams instead of always taking care of Niklaus. You were the one who confronted him when everyone was walking on eggshells around him, and you captivated all of us. You deserve to have a life of your own too, Y/N, and I know it's gonna be brilliant."
As he spoke, Elijah brought the bottle to your lips, and you drank its rich liquid. As you felt the ground swirl under your feet and Elijah becoming more and more distant, all you could keep was an opal daylight ring.
EVE FORBES-MIKAELSON + KLAUS MIKAELSON
so... there is a bit to unpack here.
FIRST OF ALL, this is a very belated birthday gift for @galvanizedfriend ! I wanted to edit Elijah for you, Yokan, but the result was... terrible 😭😭 so, I hope this little gif will he enough 🙏
[ TO BE CLEAR: EVE IS THE DAUGHTER OF KLAUS AND CAROLINE IN THE WOLF BY YOKAN ON AO3 ]
Second of all, this is my first time doing something like this. I rarely do "people-masking" from videos when I'm editing, therefore, I ask you to be kind about the imperfections ! constructive criticism is welcome, just don't be harsh 🥲 (I use Alight motion for editing !)
Third of all, this is supposed to be Teen!Eve, and I was thinking this could be a scene where Eve is trying to protect herself from a enemy, but she ends up killing them, and when Klaus find her, she's sobbing and saying that she didn't want to do that, she was just trying to protect herself, and Klaus would tell her that it's okay, he'll take care of the rest, the most important thing is that she's safe and alive.
That's it! hope you guys like it, and remember to check Yokan's The Wolf Series on Ao3!
What are your top 5s in anything TVDU related? (Characters, ships, friendships, familial bonds, episodes, etc.)
Ooh, my first question. Thank you for asking!
Even though I've watched tvd first, but I prefer the originals to it. So, my answer is going to be mostly about them.
I'm going to do the characters separately.
First, characters from T.O
Elijah Mikaelson (because he was the calm before the storm, I don't know how to describe him, he was just so resilient and holding onto his brother when the entire world could only see a monster in him, and for all his complex layers.) and Hayley Marshall (because she was a BAMF, the best mother you could have) fighting for first place, but none of them can win.
Camille O'Connell because she was such a ray of sunshine. (Caroline stans do not come at me, this is about two characters who have literally never met.)
Freya Mikaelson was such a badass.
Klaus Mikaelson because he had the best retorts and sarcasm.
Gia because she was so down to earth about everything. (Putting her after Klaus feels so wrong lmao.)
Now, Tvd characters. I can't conjure any explanation for them.
Caroline Forbes
Enzo St. John
Stefan Salvatore
Rayna Cruz
Rose from S2
Ships.
Haylijah, because have you seen them? The chemistry, the compatibility, the love and all the respect. (S5 never happened.)
Bonenzo because they were so good together, and Enzo actually loved Bonnie and didn't spend his time using her.
Klamille, because Camille could see beyond 'evil Klaus' and understood him like no one else ever did, and Klaus saw so much light in her, and he cared about her.
Steroline because they were also good together.
Gialijah because they had so much chemistry and there was just something about them
Friendships.
Caroline & Enzo, because he stepped up for her and they had something special about them.
Camille & Vincent, because they related to one another after all damage they got because of the Mikaelson family, and they made something good out of it.
Freya & Hayley because they spent years together raising Hope, and they bonded so well.
Stefan and Lexi because they do supportive besties better than anyone.
Bonnie and Damon because they have managed to go from sworn enemies to best friends.
Familial bonds.
Hayley and Hope. No one does mother and daughter better than them.
Elijah and Rebekah. We saw so many times how Elijah cared for her and how she looked up to him. I believe he was her favorite brother, even if the show wanted to make us believe it was Klaus.
Marcel & Davina. They're not family by blood, but the way he was her family more than her real family and tried to protect her meant so much.
Elijah and Hope. We did not get much of them, but they had so much potential. If the show didn't completely destroy Elijah to redeem Klaus, we might have seen him be the best uncle out there.
Freya/ Rebekah and Hope. These aunt/niece relationships were so good. Rebekah cared for her for months, and kept her safe, and Freya raised her with Hayley and taught her so much.
Finding episodes that I genuinely love from beginning to end is difficult.
TO S2E9: The Map of Moments. We had family, we had bickering and we had love.
TVD S3E14: Dangerous Liaisons. We had a ball straight out from a fantasy, do I need to say more?
TO S1E20: A Closer Walk with Thee. It was not a happy episode, but we had our first Haylijah kiss, and it's good enough to be in my top 5.
TO S5E8 : The Kindness of Strangers. As much as I hated S5, but this episode was so good. We saw the Mikaelson family reunited, and every time I watch Elijah break down after remembering Hayley's death, I can't help but cry.
TO S1E1: Always and Forever. This feels like such a basic answer, but I love this episode. It was the beginning of an epic tv show, and it's just so nostalgic.
These are the ones you mentioned, and I can't for the life of me think about anything else to rank. Anyway, I am awkward most of the time, and it includes this answer. So, don't judge me too harshly!
Veiled Secrets - Caroline Forbes x fem!reader
Tumblr media
[summary: where reader is finds out caroline is a vampire.]
Masterlist
The town of Mystic Falls was no stranger to secrets, but when you arrived, you couldn't have imagined the depths of darkness that lay beneath its picturesque surface.
Caroline Forbes, a vibrant and popular figure, had caught your eye from the moment you set foot in the town. She was quite the ray of sunshine that stood out in the small town atmosphere of Mystic Falls. Little did you know, her life held a secret that would forever change your perception of reality.
As you settled into Mystic Falls, your paths crossed with Caroline more often than not. The two of you ended up collaborating on a charity event, your personalities surprisingly complementary. Caroline's boundless energy and your thoughtful nature created a balance that drew you closer.
One evening, as you helped her set up for the event, a slip of her hand revealed something that left you speechless—a flash of fangs. Your heart raced as your mind raced to catch up with what you had just witnessed.
Caroline's eyes widened, a mixture of panic and vulnerability in her gaze. She could feel her breathing quicken and her heart had begun to race miles a minute, "(Y/n), I can explain."
Stumbling over your words in shock, you finally managed to find your voice. "You're... a vampire?"
Caroline's nod was barely perceptible, her voice tinged with sadness. She was silent for a moment before saying, "Yes. It's a secret I've been keeping from everyone."
As the truth settled in, a whirlwind of emotions swept over you. Surprise, fear, curiosity—it was a potent mix that left you uncertain about how to proceed.
You had read a lot of fantasy books and seen many movies about vampires before and was quite entertained by the idea. There were even times you wished you could be one. Though, when your once thought ideas had now become a reality, you were quite lost on how to respond.
Over the following days, Caroline shared her story with you—the struggles, the fears, and the need to protect those she cared about. As you listened, you realized that beneath her seemingly perfect exterior, there was a vulnerability that she rarely showed to anyone.
As your connection with Caroline deepened, so did your feelings for her. You were drawn to her Despite the revelations, you found yourself drawn to her strength and the way she had faced her reality head-on. But a nagging question remained—could you truly be with someone who existed in a world of darkness and danger?
One evening, as the moon hung low in the sky, you found yourself at a crossroads. Caroline stood before you, her gaze uncertain. "(Y/n), I understand if this is too much for you, if you can't accept what I am."
Your heart ached as you looked into her eyes, the turmoil of your emotions evident. "Caroline, I can't deny that I care for you. But I also can't ignore the fact that your life is dangerous, that being with you would mean stepping into a world I never knew existed."
Caroline nodded, a sadness in her eyes that mirrored your own. "I understand."
The weight of your decision settled on your shoulders as you turned away, your heart heavy with the knowledge that the love you felt might be forever out of reach. You felt a light wind blow by as your now ex-girlfriend sped away.
As usual, the days turned went by, Mystic Falls continued its intricate dance of light and shadow. Your connection with Caroline remained, a bittersweet reminder of the love that could have been. And as you watched her from afar, you knew that some secrets were destined to remain veiled forever.
I have always wondered where did the narrative 'caroline said she won't take the cure' come from?Wasn't it Klaus,yet again, imposing his thoughts on Caroline that she preferred being ageless and immortal?When Caroline was asked,she had already convinced herself she wasn't getting the cure because, she said, there was only one and she knew everyone had been running around like headless chicken for that one cure so Elena could take it.She didn't even stand a chance because,even for a damn cure,Elena was the first choice.
Anyway,let's be real.It had only been less than a year since Caroline turned when they found the cure.She had just started to reclaim her lost self-confidence,regain her self worth,work on her abuse and trauma that she had undergone previously and enjoy the perks of vampirism as well.So maybe she wouldn't have taken the cure then.But isn't it normal for someone to have a different perspective of life and everything with time?Caroline never thought she would get the chance of being a mom but she did and went as far as ensuring her kids were protected & far away from the supernatural world as long as possible(even though that didn't make sense since they were born supernaturals being siphoners but it's tvd logic !).She even said she felt like dying when the twins were kidnapped.These emotions had nothing to do with being a vampire.Her desire to get married and have a normal family never went away with vampirism.She could barely handle herself when her mom died.She fell into depression after Stefan left. Did the narrative,despite all these, seriously want to convince us that,after her mom and husband were dead,Caroline would watch her kids grow old and drop dead while gleefully spending an eternity guzzling human blood like effing Kombucha?
Why wasn't Caroline Forbes allowed a narrative where she could reflect on the girl she was before she turned,the girl who was unloved,unaccepted, abandoned & raped,to the girl she grew into,after she turned, who learnt to love herself first ,proved herself to herself,to the woman she became who was loved by her friends and herself(since they had all grown out of their teenage mentality),who didn't seek external validation anymore?Why wasn't she allowed an opportunity to stop compartmentalizing her two selves and recognise that she had always been extraordinary?Caroline's journey was actually internal.Vampirism was like her training wheels.She had to let go of her training wheels ,at some point,to see if she had actually learnt anything,right?
I'm not saying she should have turned human to only play mommy to Lizzie & Josie or give a child to Stefan.But at least a storyline,that involved her considering the option and mulling over the choices,should have been explored especially when she was faced with a shortened future with Stefan due to their vampire-human mismatch.This should have made her realise that her time with her daughters was limited too.She didn't have an eternity with them.She never did unless she had been planning to pull a Katherine Pierce all along & turn both.Instead TVD had her convince herself that her excitement about an unknown future(with or without the vampire-human mismatch issue) with Stefan was always misguided in order to motivate herself to stay ignorant of what was to come.Being human wouldn't have invalidated her prior experience in my opinion.It would rather have helped her learn something new about herself that she didn't before.
Your thoughts?
Hey, anon! I think there are two reasons why the writers didn’t spend a lot of time on whether Caroline wanted the cure or not.  First, the cure storyline centered on Elena and whether or not she’d take the cure. Caroline’s desire was ignored because her character was used in service to that plot.  I know, I know -- Elena was the protagonist. She was the main character of the story. I get it.  But the writers centered Elena so much that it cannibalized other character’s narratives.  Second, the writers ignored thought-provoking story arcs for the side characters in favor of reductive storytelling.  These two are often linked. You made a great point about how this affected Caroline – better than I could. So, I’m going to go into detail about how the writers ignored a fantastic character arc for Damon in season 4 by inserting the Stelena/Delena love triangle (i.e. Defan's Elena rivalry) into the cure storyline.
In the 4th season, Stefan and Damon are set in opposition to each other. Stefan wants Elena to take the cure so she won’t have to deal with the pain and guilt of being a vampire. Damon, however, doesn’t want Elena to take the cure because he doesn’t want Elena to grow old and die leaving him alone.  You know – the usual black-and-white “good selfless brother” vs. “bad selfish brother” storyline they’d been force-feeding the audience for years. If that wasn’t reductive enough the writers took it one step further in the finale: Elena wanted Damon to take the cure, but Damon says he wouldn’t take the cure because he doesn’t want to be human.
The problem with Damon’s answer is that it contradicts Damon’s existential crisis in season 2: “I miss being human. I miss it more than anything in the world.”
What the hell writers!? How did Damon go from having an existential crisis because he missed being human to not wanting to take the cure because he doesn’t want to be human?
Damon was never given an arc for this.   There was never an exploration of Damon’s feelings. There was never an explanation for this attitude change.  The writers reversed Damon’s attitude out of nowhere in service of the Will-Elena-Take-The-Cure storyline (which turned out to be a symbolic which-brother-will-Elena-choose storyline).
This frustrated me because the cure storyline was the PERFECT OPPORTUNITY to explore Damon’s existential crisis from season 2 and the writers dropped the ball. They completely ignored it. Why? Well, you answered it in your ask:
“When Caroline was asked, she had already convinced herself she wasn't getting the cure because, she said, there was only one and she knew everyone had been running around like headless chicken for that one cure so Elena could take it. She didn't even stand a chance because, even for a damn cure, Elena was the first choice.”
Caroline’s potential storyline regarding the cure was ignored just like Damon’s existential crisis was ignored.
I know this probably wasn’t the answer you were hoping for. You asked me about Caroline and I talked about Damon. However, you made such great points about Caroline and potential storylines for her that were never explored that I don’t feel like I have anything to add. You also reminded me of what I think was one of the biggest wasted opportunities regarding the cure storyline, and it’s the one that frustrates me the most. The writers kept throwing out potential character arcs for the side characters because the story always centered around Elena.
Always.. and Forever (1/2)
After your twin goes off the rails, you decide a change of scenery is in order.
PART ONE | PART TWO
Tumblr media
Words: 7.7K Author's Note: ST4 and Legacies AU. We're obviously not going to be in the 80s for this, but the ST characters will be the same age as they are in S4. Also, I'm a tad mean when discussing Hope. Oops.
Growing up, you'd been told that having a twin was a blessing.
Obviously, those people didn't grow up with Hope Mikaelson- an uppity little witch who'd been told she was going to be the most powerful witch that ever lived when she grew up. You don't know why they favored her over you when you were of the same blood, of the same birth, but they did. And instead of being jealous and causing tension, you faded into the background and let your aunt Freya teach you when she had the time.
Your family went to hell and back trying to keep you and Hope safe, and in the end there was only so much they could do. Your mother had enrolled the two of you into a school for supernatural children when a majority of the Mikaelson clan was put into a spelled sleep, but even there you didn't fit in. The children, and even some teachers, whispered about your family and that you and Hope were sure to follow in your father's footsteps. It wasn't the best environment to grow up in, but Headmistress Caroline Forbes did her best to make you feel welcomed.
And then your family was reunited, but the dangers never dissipated.
Your mother Haley was the first to die, your and Hope's werewolf curse had been activated, and your father Niklaus and uncle Elijah took in an ancient evil within themselves to free you and Hope from its clutches before joining Haley in the afterlife.
You spent a week mourning down in New Orleans before you went back to school in Mystic Falls, but trouble seemed to find you Mikaelson girls no matter where you went.
And after a couple years of fending off monster after monster, protecting a school full of children who would rather see you and Hope leave, you've finally decided that you've had enough. But your decision comes too little too late, and you only really make up your mind to leave when your vampire side is forcefully activated.
Becoming a tribrid was never something you wanted- not like Hope who spoke of it often since she claimed it was solely on her shoulders to defeat Malivore- so you left Mystic Falls and didn't even tell your family where you were going.
Tumblr media
Hawkins, Indiana is the last place your family would think you'd ever willingly settle down in, so it's absolutely perfect to put down some roots. They have many decent homes up for sale, but the last thing you want is anyone paying too close attention to the eighteen-year-old living all alone in a house she shouldn't have been able to afford.
Forest Hills Trailer Park is looked down upon by a majority of the town it seems, so you manage to compel yourself a double wide trailer and have it set up in that exact park. The trailer itself has more room than you need, but you figure you'd just go ahead and make it your own.
You're so busy decorating your new home to your liking, that you don't notice how slimy Hawkins feels until you've come to the realization that you like the little outdated town. And after casting a few spells to figure out exactly what's going on with the town, you come across a source of supernatural energy you've never felt before. It pulses and writhes angrily, especially when you focus on it to figure out exactly what it is, but it seems stuck for the moment, so you leave it be.
Better to not poke the bear and make it even angrier, painting a target on your back when it eventually breaks free.
You've been at the trailer park for nearly a week now, sitting at the public picnic table and enjoying the crisp air when your solitude is interrupted.
A young redhead sits across from you, setting down a paper plate of cookies that's covered in plastic wrap. "You're that new girl, right? The one who lives at the end of the road," she says, gesturing towards where your trailer resides. You nod and place your pencil down next to your sketchbook. "My mom told me to bring you some cookies as a welcoming gift. They're store bought though. Enjoy."
The girl looks like she's done with the day, and you finally crack a grin. "Thanks." You pull the plate towards you, lifting the wrap to grab one of the chocolate chip cookies. "I'm YN."
"Max." She says. Her eyes dart to the plate of cookies and you gesture for her to take one. She does. "So, what brings you to our crappy little town?" She asks while breaking apart the cookie to slowly eat it.
"Change of scenery." You shrug. Biting the cookie, you chew and swallow before saying, "I, uh, had some family issues so I just took myself out of the situation. Better to be alone and happy, than being miserable with the family."
Max nods as if she understands. "Where'd you move from?"
"Virginia. I'm originally from Louisiana, but I was living at my private school when I decided to just pack up and move."
"Cool."
Max nibbles on her cookie and you take the moment to study the girl across from you. There's an aura of sadness and exhaustion practically blanketing the girl and you wonder what she's recently gone through to have her feeling so morose. But the two of you are basically strangers and you know it's not your place to ask such personal questions.
You pick up the too loud music and rumbling engine of a vehicle way before your companion does, and you watch as she winces when the sound finally reaches her ears.
"You alright?" You ask when she grimaces and rubs at the spot between her eyes, eyes then darting to a van that screeches into a parking spot in front of one of the many trailers.
"Yeah, uh, headache. They started yesterday and Munson's loudness does not help at all."
"Headaches?" You arch an eyebrow at her, gaze darting to the boy with long hair that hops out of his van.
"Mhm."
The boy grins when he spots you and starts making his way towards where you're at with a little bounce in his step. "I have some tea somewhere that can help with that. It'll put you into a dreamless sleep too."
From the corner of your eye, you see her perk up. "Does it actually work?"
"Yeah. I used to drink it all the time after my dad and uncle died." The words slip easily from your lips that you don't see Max look momentarily surprised. "So what about this Munson guy? Should I steer clear or..?" The whole grunge look is not something you've been particularly drawn to, but his boyish smile is rather distracting.
"He's harmless. Obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons, and his music."
You huff a short laugh and mumble, "Nerd," beneath your breath.
But Max still hears and laughs out loud.
"What's so funny, Mayfield?" The boy asks, hopping up onto the bench and taking a seat on top of the table corner. "And who's your friend?"
You arch an eyebrow at him as he shamelessly reaches for a cookie, silver rings glinting in the sunlight as he bites into said cookie with a smile. "I've lived here for a week. Is this really the first time you've seen me?"
"No shit?" He hops off the table and dramatically bows before you, staring at you through his lashes and a curtain of hair that had slipped into framing his face. "Eddie Munson at your service, m'lady."
You grin and shake your head. "YN Mikaelson."
"Nice." He takes another bite of his cookie as he straightens up, groaning in delight. "These are really good."
"Right? Apparently our neighbor Max here is quite the baker."
She snorts as you wink at her when Eddie praises her mad baking skills. "So what brings you to small town Hawkins?"
"Family issues," you say. "Just wanted to start off somewhere new."
"Alone?"
"Yep."
"Nice."
Max snorts again and makes to stand up. "Well it was nice meeting you. I'm sure we'll run into each other again. It's a small trailer park."
"I'll bring that tea to you later tonight. Which trailer's yours?"
"Right there. You can't miss it," she says while pointing it out.
As Max goes back to her place, you're left alone with Eddie. His eyes crinkle as he smiles yet again and you can't help but grin back. His smile is insanely infectious. "So what's your story, Eddie Munson?"
"Don't got much of one."
"Really? Everyone's got a story."
He shrugs and his smile falters. "Dad's in the slammer and mom wanted nothing to do with me when I failed my senior year, so my uncle took me in. Failed a second time and right now I'm army crawling my way towards graduation so I can finally get the hell out there. Third time's the charm, right?"
There's a sadness to his tone that puts a crack in your wall and has you sharing your story when you normally wouldn't. "My twin and I lost our parents and uncle a few years ago. We did our best to carry on, but my twin- she, uh, she did something completely unforgivable that resulted with me running away without telling anyone."
"Your twin messed up so you're punishing the rest of your family by taking your awesome self out of the equation?"
You sadly smile at his ridiculous statement. "Most of them favored her anyway." You shrug. "If they really want to find me, they'll figure it out."
Eddie holds his hands up in mock surrender, showing that he's dropping the subject. "Well, I should get going. If you ever want to hang out, you know where to find me."
"Yeah. Same." You flash him a friendly smile. "I don't have a job as of yet, so it's just me at home."
"Yeah? Well alright then. I'll see you around, neighbor."
Almost as soon as Eddie disappears into his trailer, muffled heavy metal music can be heard. You spend a bit more time outside, sketching and bobbing your head along to whatever Eddie's listening to before you decide to head back home.
And when you get home, it isn't long until you find the herbs to make a few tea bags for Max so the younger girl can sleep in peace.
Tumblr media
Max is the first to visit your home, and you had laughed when she took in everything in your living room and came to the realization that you were into weird stuff. The crystals, globes, and grimoires were weird enough, but the burning incense and ceremonial daggers you had on display gave her enough to pause to consider exiting your trailer then and there.
"My eldest aunt is a practicing wiccan." The little lie had slipped off your tongue so easily. After all, you couldn't exactly tell her the truth. "The youngest of my uncles dabbled in it too, and my twin and I just kind of followed in their footsteps."
"Oh. Cool?" She had said, even though it sounded as if it were a question. "So, uh, that tea you gave me..?"
"Was a blend I made myself after my aunt taught me how to make it. Totally harmless if you're worried."
Max was apprehensive for a bit more afterward, but when you didn't get after her for her curiosity of your belongings, she became more at ease. She had asked for more of the tea since apparently it did help her sleep, and you did that for her while watching as she appreciated some crystals you had sitting on a shelf.
Then Eddie came over a day after and his reaction was the complete opposite. While Max showed wariness of her surroundings, Eddie practically lit up.
Eddie is like a kid in a candy store as he studies everything with a keen eye, his attention being held by the daggers and books. He didn't look like the type of boy who would willingly read, but he surprised you by sitting on your couch with one of your books in his lap.
"So what? You're into the occult and stuff?" He asks.
"Would it be so bad if I was?" Eddie briefly glances up and flashes you a smile. "Are you into stuff like this?" You then ask.
He shrugs. "Kinda. I'm the Dungeon Master for my D&D club. It's my job to weave a tale with my mystical beasts and demons. I don't dabble in it like you apparently do, but I like to learn random facts here and there."
"What about outside of D&D?" You then wonder. "Do you believe in magic, Mr. Munson?"
You have no idea what's keeping you talking, but you find that you want to tell this boy everything. Eddie chuckles as he looks up from the book once more. "Are you trying to tell me you can wiggle your nose and make shit happen?" He says it as if it were a joke, but you don't laugh.
Instead, you smile. "Well, I don't have to wiggle my nose, but.."
Eddie's amusement falters as he really looks at you. "Bullshit," he says when he realizes you're being serious. He closes your book and sets it aside, and then scoots to sit on the edge of his seat. "Magic isn't real." Your smile slowly widens. "Is it?"
The candles adorning every bookshelf in your living room burst to life. With half his face lit up by flickering flames, you realize his expression isn't exactly one of glee like it was minutes before. Your smile slowly vanishes the longer he stays quiet and for a split second you think you've made a mistake.
But then Eddie meets your gaze, and he beams at you. "You've been holding out on me, Mikaelson! What else can you do?"
Your eyes sting with tears of relief and you quickly sniffle as you choke back a laugh. "I, uh, I can do a lot. But this stays between us, Munson. At least for now."
He quickly makes a cross over his heart. "Done."
Tumblr media
Over the next couple of weeks, Eddie and Max become constants in your home. Only one knows only a fraction of your true identity, while the other is under the assumption that your only trick is mixing some herbs that make her have a peaceful night's sleep.
Your trailer becomes sort of a haven for the redhead, and you completely understand when she tells you why. Her stepbrother had passed away the previous summer, her stepfather picked up and left, and her mother took to the bottle after having to get two jobs just to support the two of them. Her own trailer wasn't the most comfortable to reside in, so you let her be when she took to hiding out in your place from her friends or just hanging around to complete her homework.
Eddie, on the other hand, visits just to hang out with a pretty girl. His words, not yours.
But thankfully he stays true to his word and never mentions anything he'd seen or learned that fateful night in your trailer, so you don't mind his flirty smiles and not so subtle innuendo. You learn he plays in a band called Corroded Coffin and that he deals weed to high school kids, but he didn't judge you so you don't judge him.
Okay, so maybe there's a little judgment when he asks if there's any witchy juju he can sell.
He learned his lesson though when you silenced him for ten minutes and he was left trailing after you like a lost puppy with no mouth.
Spring Break is upon the kids of Hawkins, but no one is looking forward to it more than Eddie.
You're in your kitchen, grabbing yourself a drink when your front door opens. Eddie barges in, in a flurry of limbs, and you smile as he trips over himself. "Excited much?"
He winks at you. "Always. At least when you're involved."
You laugh and grab another soda before taking it to the living room. "Not that I don't enjoy your company, but didn't Hellfire have a meeting tonight?"
"Yes." His sudden scowl makes your lips twitch, but you don't outright laugh at him. Instead, you listen. "Those little dipshit freshmen couldn't find a substitute after one of our members backed out to play in the basketball championship game. I didn't want to postpone Hellfire, but we had no other choice."
"That sucks. I'm sorry."
"Yeah, well.." He trails off and pops open his can of Coke before taking a long drink from it. "On a funnier note, the Queen Bee of Hawkins High sought me out in order to get me to sell her."
"Seriously?"
"Yep. But something was off," he says. "She was nervous, terrified even, and this wasn't the jitters of a first-time buyer. She seemed like she needed actual help."
"So, what'd you tell her?"
"I, uh, I told her I had a friend who made some tea that was sure to offer her a peaceful night's sleep."
"Eddie," you groan.
"I'm sorry! I panicked." He chuckles softly before turning just a bit more serious. "She seems like she really needs help, YN. And I know you helped out Little Red, so I just thought-"
"It's fine. I'll make her a few tea bags."
"You're the best! She'll be by later tonight."
"That's fine, but if I'm doing some magic then you're paying for dinner."
"As m'lady wishes." You huff a laugh at him as he chugs the rest of his Coke. "So, what do you want? I'll go pick it up right now."
"Uhh.. Chinese? I really want some noodles. And fortune cookies."
"You got it. I'll be back."
He leaves his empty soda can on one of your side tables and rushes out before you can scold him for leaving his trash.
You clean up while Eddie is away and get started on pulling together some ingredients for the tea bags that Eddie's classmate apparently needs. And then when there's nothing else to be done, you curl up in the corner of your sofa and watch some trash TV.
Eddie returns soon enough and you grab a couple more sodas and some utensils before joining him in the living room. He's pulled the coffee table closer to your sofa, using that to hold the food, but you reclaim your corner and hold your carton of lo mein in your lap as you eat.
He's seated on the middle cushion, your body turned towards him so your socked feet are tucked under his thigh when there's a knock on your door. You and Eddie glance at it, forks frozen midway to your mouths before the door itself is pulled open.
Max's gaze immediately lands on the two of you, a small smile blossoming as she realizes you are home and not busy. "I brought some people over. I hope that's okay."
"Uh yeah. Sure. Come in."
Max opens the door wider, and you shove the forkful of noodles into your mouth as you watch as teen after teen file into your home. Three boys and one girl congregate around your front entrance, and it only takes a split second for two of the group to spot your companion on the sofa.
"Eddie?!"
"What are you doing here?"
Eddie smirks as he slurps up some of his noodles and you take the time to study the two boys amazed by his appearance- one tall and lanky with shaggy dark hair and the other a little stocky with a head of light curls tucked under a cap. Both are wearing Hellfire Club shirts and you realize these must be the dipshit freshmen Eddie spoke of earlier.
The two boys are still gaping when Max rolls her eyes. "This is Dustin and Mike. Beside them is Robin and then Steve. Guys, this is YN."
"Hey." You wave your fork at them, grinning. "I'd have gotten more food if I knew Max was bringing guests."
"Uh yeah. No, it's cool," Robin stammers. "It's, uh, nice to meet you?" Her gaze darts around your place once more and you grin.
"You guys can sit anywhere. Just make yourselves at home. We don't bite."
"Speak for yourself," Eddie muses.
Max rolls her eyes and you lift a foot to lightly kick his thigh. "Behave."
Eddie glances at you, smiling so wide that his eyes crinkle and your heart skips a beat. You try to narrow your eyes at him, but your lips end up twitching and showing your amusement towards him.
"Holy shit. Munson's got game," you hear someone mutter.
"We're missing Lucas," Max then says as she flops down on the other side of Eddie, "and Will and El are flying in from California right now, so I thought I'd introduce you to these morons first instead of unleashing them on you all at once."
"Ohhh. Lucas, huh. You're actually going to introduce me to the illustrious ex-boyfriend?" Max blushes which makes Dustin snicker, but she narrows her eyes at her friend before leaning across Eddie and snatching the carton of lo mein noodles out of your hand. "Hey!"
"You snooze, you lose."
You pout at the little redhead until Eddie hands you his own carton, and you beam at him. The sudden speeding up of his heart makes you mentally chuckle and then you dig into his carton of noodles since Max had stolen yours.
"Sooo.. any questions?" You wonder when you realize Max's friends are still quiet.
"Do you worship the devil?" Dustin blurts.
You and Eddie both snort. "No. I do not worship the devil."
"Your decor is.." Robin trails off, eying the many witchy artifacts you have out in the open. "It's really something."
You wink. "I promise I'm a total Glinda."
Max ends up giving you a little background on her friends and you do the same, telling them only the things that you told Eddie and Max. So after a half hour, they know where you're from, where you previously went to school, and that you had a falling out with your sister which is why you moved.
Your carefree laughs and easy going smiles seem to loosen up Max's friends, and soon enough they're all at ease in your home.
At least until there's another knock on your door and you freeze.
"Oh! That should be Chrissy," Eddie says. He's quick to stand and you can't help the little pang of hurt you feel at the way he lights up.
Your eyes follow him as he stumbles over to the door and your smile falls when one of the prettiest girls you've ever seen steps into your home. She's in her cheerleading uniform and, though she's obviously uncomfortable with so many sets of eyes on her, she's still absolutely stunning.
She smiles at Eddie and he smiles at her, and you're so annoyed with yourself for ever thinking Eddie would go for someone like you.
Self-pity aside, however, you notice something is wrong with the girl. She's very twitchy and holding herself as if someone or something is after her, and she's doing her best to hold herself together. In fact, she reminds you of Max when Max first started hanging around. Only worse.
"Hey." You stand up and decide to introduce yourself. "I'm YN."
"Chrissy." She smiles at you. "I'm sorry for intruding. If I had known-"
"Oh. Don't even worry." You're quick to assure her. "I didn't know they'd be here either, except for Eddie, so you're fine."
"Thanks."
"Well, if you just hang here for a bit, I'll just go grab you those tea bags."
"Okay. Thank you."
As you head towards your kitchen, you listen as Eddie introduces Chrissy to those they go to school with and those they used to go to school with. She's all nervous smiles and nervous chatter, and you take your time gathering the tea so she has a bit of time to relax with her peers.
As you're putting the tea into a tin container, the lights in your trailer flicker.
The talking and laughter from your living room cease altogether, and the hair on the back of your neck raises.
"Chrissy?"
"Hey, is she okay?"
"Munson, what the hell did you sell her, man?"
"Nothing! I didn't sell her shit." A pause and then. "Chrissy. Hey Chrissy, wake up. This isn't funny."
The slight panic in Eddie's voice is enough to make you rush back into the living room and your eyes widen at the sight of the teenage girl standing stock still, eyes milky white and rolled up. "What the hell?"
The lights start flickering faster and the air reeks of fear. Eddie looks in your direction, eyes filled with panic as he says, "Do something!"
"I- I.. do what?" You stammer.
"You're the witch," he shouts. "You tell me!"
Everyone is so busy staring at Chrissy that they don't hear what Eddie said, but they are about to witness it. Because seconds later, Chrissy's body starts to levitate inches off the floor of your trailer.
"Goddammit," you mutter. Rushing forward, your hands latch onto the sides of her face before her body can raise any higher. Then closing your eyes, you concentrate on clearing your mind before uttering the words, "Harae-Tamau Kioku Yomigaerashi-Tamae."
You feel when a pulse of power leaves you. Chrissy's milky eyes turn back to her normal vibrant color, and she gasps before she collapses. The flickering lights stop.
"Chrissy!"
"Max!"
You whirl around and watch as Mike and Dustin hover over Max who's apparently collapsed as well. Suddenly every gaze is on you, wide with panic and terror.
"What the hell are you?!" Mike screams. "What did you do!?"
Your eyes widen at the kid's fierce protectiveness. "I'm a- I'm a witch." You glance between Chrissy and Max unconscious on the floor. "The spell I used is for purging the mind of supernatural influence. But Max-"
"Was having headaches," Eddie suddenly realizes. "Just like Chrissy was having headaches!"
You frown before meeting the freaked-out expressions of Max's friends. "Did Max ever say anything?"
"No. We don't talk like we used to," Dustin says. "Not after.." He trails off when Mike elbows him and shakes his head to be quiet.
You sigh, not liking being left out of the loop. "Get the girls on the sofa. Something is clearly going on in this little town that's affecting the two of them."
"Are they dead?" Robin asks.
"What? No." You huff a laugh. "Glinda, remember? I'm the good witch here." As they get Chrissy and Max situated on your sofa, you rush over to a shelf cabinet and open it up. "Can someone clear the coffee table? I'm gonna need it."
You scour your shelves for items you need- chalk, a bowl, a few dry herbs, and two necklaces that have wrapped clear quartz dangling from the chains. Then heading towards your now cleared off coffee table, you set everything down and sit on your knees. You draw a circle atop the wooden table, lines protruding from the circle and ending in arrows or pointing to other symbols you've drawn in.
"Jesus," Steve breathes in awe. "You really are a witch."
Mike kneels across from you, no longer freaked out but so very curious now. "What are you doing?"
"The girls need protection. Clear quartz dispels negative energy." You place the bowl in the middle, tossing ingredients into it while crumbling others. Then grabbing the necklaces, you set them on either side of the bowl and stretch the chains out. Holding a fist over the bowl, you stretch your fingers out while uttering, "Incendia."
A small flame bursts to life in the bowl and immediately the dry ingredients start to smolder.
"Cool." Dustin smiles as he watches you work. "Have you always been able to do this?"
"Can you save the questions for later? I would rather explain myself after Max is awake."
"Yeah. Sure. That's fine."
Taking a deep breath then, you place a hand over each clear quartz crystal. Then clearing your mind, you say, "Praesidio, protegere ac tutari." You can feel your palms tingle and know the charm has been set. When you open your eyes, you huff a laugh when you see everyone staring at you in awe. "Uh, protection charm," you explain. "Hopefully this keeps their minds clear of any future supernatural influence."
"Yeah. No shit." Dustin scoffs. "That levitating thing was new."
As the girls start to show signs of waking up, you wave a hand over the table and vanish everything but the necklaces. Max wakes up confused, but Chrissy wakes up in a panic.
"Hey. Hey," you say a little louder to get her to look at you. "You're okay. You're safe."
"No, no, no. You don't under-" She glances around at everyone, trying to push herself further back into the sofa as if that'll help her disappear.
"I understand perfectly and I'm sorry you're being targeted," you say. Picking up one of the necklaces, you hold it out to her with a small smile. "As long as you reside in Hawkins, I'm going to need you to wear this."
Her tear-filled eyes dart between you and the necklace you're offering. "W-Why?"
"Because it'll keep the boogeyman away." You grin as she shakily takes the offered necklace after a beat. "And I still have that tea for you if you want it."
"W-Will it help?"
You shrug and look at Max. "Does the tea help you?"
"Yeah. It keeps away the dreams. And the visions." She gulps when her friends all stare at her in surprise.
"I'll t-take it." Chrissy hastily puts on her new necklace, and you return to your kitchen for the tea. When you get back to her, she's standing by your sofa and looking very uncomfortable. "Here you go." Then making sure to catch her gaze, you say, "When you walk out of this trailer, I'm going to need you to forget my face. And the secret of monsters and magic stays with you. Do I make myself clear?"
Unbeknownst to those around you, Chrissy's pupils dilate as the compulsion sets in. "I understand."
"Good. Have a good night, Chrissy. Drive safe."
She blinks and then looks at Eddie, and he jerks into motion. "Oh, uh, come on. I'll walk you out."
As you watch Eddie lead Chrissy with a hand at the small of her back, you grimace before averting your gaze and chewing on the bottom corner of your lip.
All is quiet until they're out the door and then Steve's blurting, "So how long have you been crushing on Munson?"
You wince. "Is it that obvious?"
"It wasn't until Chrissy showed up."
"Yeah, well.." You sigh softly and then hand Max her own necklace. "Tis the curse of a Mikaelson. We always want something we can't have."
A moment of silence passes as Max glances around the occupants of the room who are all standing around warily. "So is anyone going to explain what's going on?"
You raise a hand. "I'm a witch. My grandmother was a witch, my aunt Freya is a witch, and now me and my twin Hope are witches. It runs in our blood."
"So witches are real now?" She arches an eyebrow at you. "Seriously?"
"Yep." The answer comes from Eddie who's returned. "She's even got this book of monsters. You guys wouldn't believe what's actually real."
"Eddie knows? What the hell, YN." Max frowns.
"Sorry."
"So the story about moving here because you had a falling out with your sister..?"
"Is true. My sister and I attended a school for supernatural children- witches, vampires, werewolves. We even had a fairy and a phoenix," you muse. "But yeah, my sister and I butted heads, and she did something completely unforgivable. At least in my eyes she did. And I just- I left. I was tired of living in her shadow, tired of being presumed to always be second best and tired of cleaning up her messes and making apologies on her behalf."
"So, you moved to Hawkins where-" Mike elbows Dustin again and you grin.
"I don't know why you're so secretive. I already know something is off about this town."
"What do you mean?" Eddie frowns. "It's just Hawkins."
When you glance back at the others, they all seem to suddenly find the floor or the walls more interesting than meeting your gaze. "It's not. When I settled in, I realized Hawkins felt slimy. There's a supernatural presence here for sure, but I don't know what it is. It's nothing I've ever come up against."
Eddie glances back at the others and notices their avoidance as well. "What do you guys know?"
"Nothing!" Dustin blurts.
"Nothing at all," Robin agrees.
But Mike caves with a sigh. "Can you just wait another day or so? My girlfriend's coming back and this is her story to tell."
"Technically it's all of our story, but yeah. Whatever." Steve shrugs. "Let El tell the tale."
Everyone seems a little on edge after what's just happened, so you don't blame them when they suggest they should get going. They promise to keep your secret and you wave them all off with promises that they can drop by whenever they feel like it. Your door is always open.
Everyone but Eddie takes their leave and as soon as they're out the door you practically collapse onto your sofa.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You good?"
You sit on the edge of the sofa, elbows on your knees as your hands clasp at the back of your neck. "Mhm. Just- just give me a moment." A slight breeze picks up inside the trailer and the lights briefly flicker. You hear Eddie gasp. "Don't worry. It's just me."
"What's happening?"
"Magic's going a little haywire," you tell him. "That purging spell I did? That was my first time doing it. It's, uh, it's dark magic."
"YN, what the hell.." You lift your head, only to see him kneeling a couple feet in front of you. "If it was dark magic, why would you do it?"
You shrug. "Because you asked me to. Chrissy is your friend or whatever and, uh, I couldn't exactly let her die in my home."
"First off, she's not my friend. Yesterday was the first time she's talked to me since middle school." Your lips twitch in brief amusement before you're lowering your head once more when you feel a pang of pain in your temple. "And secondly, you did the spell because I asked? Lil' 'ol me? Seriously?"
"Stop," you groan. "I don't even have to be looking at you to know you're smiling so wide right now."
Eddie laughs. "Can you blame me? This smoking hot babe of a witch just admitted to doing something because I asked. Me! You gotta let me gloat here for a bit."
"Get out of my trailer, Munson."
He laughs some more and you finally brave a look at him, uncaring that your cheeks are probably lit up with a blush. His smug smile turns soft the longer he stares at you. "In all seriousness, are you good?"
"Yeah. I just- I'm probably gonna soak in the bath and head to bed. I feel icky after that."
"Okay." He stands then and with a soft exhale, you follow. "If you need anything.."
"I have your number and know exactly where you live. I'll be fine, Eddie."
"I'm just saying." He starts walking towards your door, only to stop when it's opened halfway. "Or if you need someone to scrub your back in the bath-"
"Out!"
He barks out a laugh and there's no use in trying to hide your smile. You can't.
"Okay, okay. I'm going. I'll come over in the morning to make sure you haven't gone Wicked Witch of the West on us."
"Jesus Christ. Just go."
You grin the entire time you watch Eddie walk back to his trailer, waving at him when he pauses at his own trailer door to glance back at you.
Then left alone, you lock up and do exactly as you told Eddie you were going to do. You fill the tub with water as hot as you can take it, and then soak in it until the water's lukewarm before crawling into bed.
Tumblr media
The following afternoon, Eddie is gracing your trailer with his presence yet again. You still feel a little off balance from the use of dark magic, but Eddie's nurturing side makes an appearance and claims the two of you are just going to hang out and watch some mindless TV.
You lay out across your sofa, your head being cushioned by a pillow that rests against the arm rest, and Eddie makes the bold move to lay between your hip and the back of the sofa. He drapes his arm over your thighs and uses your abdomen as his own personal pillow.
"Is, uh, is this okay?" He nervously squirms as he tries to get comfortable.
His hammering heartbeat momentarily distracts you, but when you feel him tense and start to move off of you, you lay a hand on his shoulder. "It's fine. Really. You're good."
He tries to exhale softly in relief, but with your keen hearing you pick it up.
You aren't expecting the children back so soon, but later that evening they're all being led into your trailer without so much as a knock. You stare incredulously at Max, but she merely shrugs before making herself comfortable. Dustin, Robin and Steve make themselves comfortable as well, and Mike's left standing with three newcomers.
"So, this is Lucas, Will and Eleven," Mike introduces them to you. "Guys, this is YN. She's a witch."
Eleven and Will's eyes widen, but it's Lucas who scoffs. "Yeah. Right."
"Not a believer?" You ask from where you're still laying, Eddie happily smug about his position still half on you. The young black boy rolls his eyes. "Invisique." Everyone gasps and you know you've gone invisible.
"Holy shit. That's really cool," Dustin muses.
You let the spell drop and reappear for all to see. "What about now?"
Lucas just gapes at you and Max rolls her eyes before pulling him down into a seat.
Mike, Will and Eleven take the lead in telling you and Eddie all about Hawkins' dirty secrets. You learn all about the child experimentation, the tattoo adorning Eleven's wrist which explains her numbered name, and about the other dimension that she accidentally ripped a portal into. They tell you about monsters and Will's disappearance, as well as a death of a girl that Steve went to school with, and how the Hawkins Lab and a portion of the government are covering it all up.
Max surprises everyone by telling you all about Billy, and while he was a dick to her, you know it's tough to lose someone you consider family.
When they seem to run out of steam, you fill in the three newcomers about everything you've already told everyone else. You keep most of your life a secret, and only let them know about your witchy side.
But like all good things in your life, something ends up happening and forces your hand.
You and Eddie have been adopted into Max's circle of friends, which Robin and Steve are grateful for since they were surrounded by too many freshmen. They seem excited to see you perform little bouts of magic here and there, and even ask if there's anything you can do for Eleven since she seemed to have lost her own powers when she fought the Mind Flayer.
Unfortunately, you couldn't do anything for her.
But still, they're excited for you to hang around, especially the younger boys who can't stop talking about D&D with Eddie.
"How are you even attracted to that?" Steve asks one night as you herd the kids out of the movie theater. Maximum Overdrive was playing and the kids had been eager to see it.
"What?" You manage to peel your eyes from Eddie who is gesturing rather wildly with his arms as he speaks, smiling like an idiot.
"That! That right there," Steve says while lowering his voice. Robin snorts from his other side. "He's so- he's so weird," he explains.
"Steve, my whole life is weird. I like who I like. I can't help it."
"Well, I think it's adorable," Robin says.
"Thanks, Buckley."
She and Steve then start to bicker over the pros and cons of Eddie Munson, and you find amusement in how they're slightly obsessed with who you should and should not be attracted to. But your amusement is cut short when you notice how oddly quiet the street is.
You can detect numerous heartbeats all around you, but the only other noise is coming from the teens who've yet to notice the odd way the many adults are suddenly coming to a stop all around you.
"Eleven." The stated name comes from a man with a head of white hair, decked out in a suit and tie. He walks out into the middle of the street, several of the supposed civilians following him and pulling guns from the back waistband of their pants. "Eleven, it's time to come home."
Almost immediately, Mike and the other children form a barrier around their friend, shouting obscenities at the man as he holds a hand out towards Eleven. Even Steve joins the fray, protecting the girl who's gripping onto Mike's hand for dear life.
Eddie stumbles back until he's at your side, warily glancing around at all the men and women holding guns. "Do you have any idea what's going on?" His hand subconsciously slips into yours and you squeeze it.
"Not a clue."
"Eleven." The man calls out again. "Come. I'm sure you don't want anything to happen to your little friends."
"Fuck you!" Mike screams. "She doesn't want to go. She's happy with us. She has a real family with us."
"I am her only family."
"Like hell you are!" Dustin shouts then. "You took her from her mother and experimented on her! She's nothing to you!"
The man exhales and glances to his right, nodding at the man who meets his gaze. Suddenly, all guns are aimed at you and your group.
"Don't!" Eleven shouts. "I'm sorry. I'll go-"
"El!"
"-but you don't hurt my friends. Please, papa, don't hurt them."
Mike tries to keep Eleven at his side, but the girl turns to him with tears in her eyes. She sniffles and quickly kisses his cheek before turning back to the man she just called papa.
But the second she takes one step in his direction; you release Eddie's hand and step out to the side. "Hold on, Eleven. You don't have to go with this man if you don't want to."
All gazes turn towards you even as Eddie whisper-shouts that what you're doing is extremely stupid.
"Oh?" The white-haired man smiles. "And just what are you going to do about it?"
"I was hoping you'd say that." You smile back and let your features shift, outing yourself to your friends that you're something more than just a witch.
Tumblr media
The white-haired man's expression falls, everyone tightens their grip on their weapons, and you smile to the point that your fangs press into your bottom lip.
From his position right next to her, Eddie watches as YN's features change into something almost monstrous. But the longer he stares, the more he realizes she's not monstrous at all.
In fact, it's actually quite an attractive look.
So as Eddie gulps, he nervously rubs his sweaty palms along his jean clad thighs and hopes no one is paying him any attention.
"If you want the child, you're gonna have to go through me," you tell them.
"What are you?" The man asks.
"Nothing you're going to remember. Ad Somnum." And with a wave of your hand, the white-haired man and his armed companions fall to the ground as if their strings had been cut.
"Holy shit. What did you do?" Max asks, looking at all the unconscious people and then looking right at you. She gulps. "And, uh, what are you? Because if I recall correctly, witches don't have fangs."
"Don't worry." You flash her a fangy grin before strutting forward, standing in the middle of all the unconscious individuals. "They're just sleeping." Hands held out at your sides, you then let your eyes fall shut. "Dedisco."
"What- what was that for?" Eddie asks.
"I erased their memories of me. If there's anything else you wish to be erased, speak now or forever hold your peace," you tease.
Eleven pulls free from Mike as she asks, "Can you- can you erase me from their memories? They won't stop looking for me if they know I'm still out there."
"Sure thing, kid." You take a moment to repeat the last spell, concentrating on erasing Eleven from their collective minds. You'll have to make her a pendent for the future, but you still have a bit of time for that.
Then when you open your eyes once more, everyone's expression ranges from shock to awe to slight fear.
"Um, so I might be something more than a witch?" You say, posing the statement as a question.
Steve scoffs. "Yeah. No kidding."
Your lips twitch in amusement. "I'm also part vampire."
"WHAT?!"
"And part werewolf." At that, you let your eyes flare yellow.
"Oh my god. This is so cool," Robin murmurs.
You smile at her, but then that smile falters as you fidget under everyone's stare. "My twin and I? We're not meant to exist," you tell them. "It's just easier to tell someone that I'm a witch instead of a tribrid. It draws too much attention."
"Well, the wolf's out of the bag." Dustin mumbles.
"It is." You huff a laugh. "And, uh, if we can get back to my place, I'll tell you all about it."
To be continued..
Harae-Tamau Kioku Yomigaerashi-Tamae - a spell that can purge the mind of supernatural influence or solidify the erasure depending on what the witch wants.  Incendia - a spell that is able to create fire or ignite flammable objects.  Invisique - an invisibility spell which allows a witch to cloak themselves and their targets.  Ad Somnum - a spell that renders the target instantly unconscious when cast.  Dedisco - a spell that erases memories.
Tumblr media
You and Elvis became parents at a young age.
Your little girl wasn't planned at all, but after thinking long and hard about it (and having very uncomfortable conversations with your parents), you decided to keep the baby.
Elvis was more than happy about this; his views on abortion differed with yours, but luckily you agreed that little Caroline was more than welcome.
Both you and Elvis had to grow up and fast.
Luck seemed to be on your side as Elvis landed a job as a news reporter right out of college; it was only for a local broadcasting channel, but the both of you were happy with it nonetheless.
While you were still in college, Elvis got paid enough to rent a two bedroom apartment which allowed you to move out of your parents' home.
You wanted to get a job after college, but seeing you were in the last few months of your pregnancy, Elvis wouldn't let you.
The man would be up and ready to go if you sighed too loud, let alone to have you work in your current state.
You thought it was cute that he was this protective over you and worried for you and for his sake, you agreed to postpone your job search until Caroline was old enough to go to school.
Tumblr media
Growing up, Caroline had everything she wanted and needed.
And more.
Elvis loved to spoil her – whether it was during Christmas and birthdays with gifts, letting her stay up past her bedtime, or quickly eating the last of her food when you weren't looking so you wouldn't scold her.
It was safe to say Caroline was a Daddy's girl.
She loved you just as much, even though she didn't always get her way with you.
It wasn't like there was a “good cop, bad cop” dynamic between you and Elvis, but Elvis was easier to manipulate because Caroline was his only child and his only daughter. He had a weakness for her.
Though when she became a teenager, that started to change a little.
He still had a weakness for her, but with her becoming more interested in boys and finding her place in the world, Elvis became worried.
He did not want to hear her talk about boys in general; he was very protective over her, sometimes a little too much.
He would leave all the “female stuff” to you, but disaster struck when Caroline got her period one late night while you were at work.
Elvis had no idea what was going on as Caroline locked herself in the bathroom.
When he walked into her room and saw the blood on the sheets, he realized what was going on and for a second, he panicked himself as well.
He changed the sheets as fast as he could before he knocked on the bathroom door, trying to calm down his daughter; who wouldn't let him in.
“Dad, go away!”
“Care, please calm down,” he tried, speaking calmly. Though he couldn't help but feel awkward as he spoke his next words, “Your mother keeps her… stuff… in one of the cabinets,”
“I know, Dad! God! Just go away!”
He did as told, letting her get cleaned up as he sat on the couch in the living room, trying to focus on whatever was playing on the TV.
Caroline came out a half hour later, apologizing and crying in his arms; his daughter might've just become a woman, but right now she was his little girl that needed her father to comfort her.
He'd make her some tea and snacks, not bringing up the subject because he knew daughter well enough that she wouldn't want that. And he was happy about it, because he had absolutely no idea how to explain to her that her body was changing and whatnot; that was your task.
Tumblr media
At the age of 16, Caroline got her first boyfriend.
Elvis immediately wanted him to come over to the house before they'd go out on dates and all those things.
Caroline didn't want to (and heavily protested) but she knew he truly wouldn't let her leave the house if he wouldn't meet Tommy, her boyfriend, first.
The poor boy was shaking in his shoes the moment he stepped into the house, almost too scared to look Elvis in the eye.
Elvis had been in Tommy's exact same position with your father; he knew how much he hated it back then, but it also gave him a sense of respect for your father. He demanded that same respect from Caroline's boyfriend.
Caroline silently begged you during dinner to have Elvis lay off a little, but before you could, the man of the house had already asked what Caroline had been praying he wouldn't.
“What are your intentions with my daughter, son?”
“I.. I.. Me and Caroline… I really l-like her, Mr. Presley,”
“Define like,”
“Dad!” “Elvis!” you and Caroline exclaimed, your voice holding a small warning tone while Caroline sounded like she could just kill him right there and then.
“What? He’s a man, he can speak for himself. Can’t ya, son?” he’d grin as he would land a slap on Tommy’s shoulder, who would laugh awkwardly and nod his head.
“I’d like to marry her?” Tommy blurted out, thinking that that was the answer Elvis wanted to hear.
It wasn’t.
“Marry? Well, now you’re movin’ a little fast, Tommy boy. I jus’ wanna know if you truly like my daughter and aren’t usin’ her to get what you want,”
“Please ignore him, Tommy. Tell me, what does your mother do again?” you'd kick Elvis' leg under the table, making him shoot a glare your way.
Caroline's face was flushed and she wouldn't look at her father for the rest of dinner anymore, but both her and Tommy were thankful that you were at least... normal.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with Tommy. If anything, he was extremely polite for a sixteen year old and he seemed to really like Caroline, but he rubbed Elvis the wrong way.
He was allowed to come over at the house, but definitely not to stay the night and Elvis demanded Caroline would keep her bedroom door open at all times.
Elvis usually worked the mornings while you worked nights, so Caroline never had the chance to fool around in her room with her boyfriend even if she wanted to.
While Tommy had his drivers license, Elvis took it upon himself to be their chauffeur whenever they wanted to go on a little date.
If it were up to him, he'd be right there at the restaurant or bowling alley, hidden in the crowd to keep an eye on them; you made him swear on the bible that he'd never do that, and he never did. No matter how tempting it was.
While Caroline was mortified whenever her dad came to pick her up from an outing, Tommy assured her it was okay; the poor kid would do anything to get Elvis' approval.
The only place Elvis could openly keep an eye on his daughter and her date would be at school dances. Ofcourse, he'd sign himself up as a chaperone.
Every year.
The mom's at the school were more than happy with it, since he was one of the youngest and most good looking fathers around, and they'd hang onto his every word.
Elvis was friendly with the mom's, but mostly because they gossiped a lot and this way, he could get tea on Caroline that his daughter wouldn't tell him herself.
Caroline avoided him like the plague at these dances – she felt too awkward to actually have fun or kiss her boyfriend, not able to join her friends who were planning to spike the punch.
It came to a point where Caroline talked to you about it, begging to talk to Elvis.
You did.
He was hurt.
“Ashamed of her father, huh? She should be happy that she’s even allowed to go out, that she’s allowed to have a boyfriend,” he scoffed when you'd be laying in bed with him one night.
“Jesus Christ, Elvis, what is this? 1824?”
“I wish,” he’d mumble as looked through some work papers in his hand.
“She’s almost seventeen. She’s not gonna be your little girl forever,”
He ignored those words, not wanting to face that reality; he knew he would have to though, so from that moment on, he stopped being a chaperone at school events and decided to let Tommy drive themselves around.
Tumblr media
Caroline and Tommy didn't last long; they were both still young and while Tommy was traditional, Caroline was a free bird.
When he seriously brought up marriage, she dumped him pretty much on the spot; Elvis couldn't be happier about it.
Your daughter found a new hobby, one that seemed like it was going to stick this time.
Horseback riding.
She gave up on piano lessons and dance classes pretty soon, but when she accompanied one of her friends to a riding lesson, she was sold as soon as she came into contact with a horse.
Elvis was excited, wanting to buy her a horse as soon as possible but you managed to stop him, because you wanted Caroline to proof herself first before you'd spend a lot of money on something she wouldn't care about anymore in a few months.
But she was passionate about this, joining her friend at the stables pretty much every day after school; you allowed Elvis to buy her a horse for her seventeenth birthday.
When she met the horse, who she named Domino, she bursted out crying and hugged Elvis so tight he felt like he was dreaming.
Seventeen or not, she was always going to be his little girl and this hug was proof of that.
Now that her attention was more so on horses and her friends and not so much on boys anymore, Elvis was less worried and allowed her more freedom than she already got.
This time, Caroline asked him to be her chauffeur and he happily agreed – driving her and her girlfriends where ever they wanted to go.
He had no idea that the only reason for it was because Caroline's friends all had a little crush on him, but he wouldn't care as long as it meant he could spend as much time with his daughter as possible.
When Caroline got good at riding and wanted to join competitions, he was all for it.
Since he only worked week days, he was able to drive Caroline and her friends to and from competitions on the weekends; ofcourse he made sure to buy her all the finest (and most expensive) riding gear and whatnot.
He developed an interest in horses himself as well, discussing tricks and tips with her before he'd watch her ride and cheer her on from the sidelines.
Tumblr media
Caroline knew that as long as she wouldn't bring up the subject of boys, she could get anything she wanted from her father.
He allowed her to have sleepovers, even when you weren't up for it.
He'd usually take you out to dinner or to go see a movie, so Caroline and her girlfriends could have a few hours of privacy.
Caroline knew how her friends felt about her father and she didn't care; she allowed them to make comments about how Elvis was so handsome and such, but when it came from random kids at school, she wouldn't take it.
When they badmouthed Elvis, because they knew him from the news, she would use her fists instead of her words.
You and Elvis grounded her for it every time, but Elvis was lowkey proud of her; going into her room when you'd be sleeping, so she could tell him in great detail how she landed a perfect punch.
These sleepovers she'd have with her friends were usually pretty innocent; movies, snacks, gossip.
This time booze was involved because one of her friends stole a bottle from her parents liquor cabinet.
Things weren't supposed to get this out of hand, but one thing led to another and Caroline got drunk.
It was her first time drinking hard liquor, so she got absolutely wasted.
You and Elvis were in shock when you came home to find her and her friends dancing through the living room, music blasting on full volume.
Caroline pretended to be just as shocked, but due to the alcohol in her system, she fell into fits of giggles and laughter.
You took the task upon you to take her equally as drunk friends home, while Elvis handled his drunk daughter.
“Dad, this is totally normal in Europe. Did you know the drinking age is 18 there?” she'd giggle as she jumped around him, though he caught her in time before she stumbled over her own feet.
“We're not in Europe, Care,”
“Well, it’s Europe-o’clock somewhere!”
Trying to go for the bottle again, Elvis snatched it out of her loose grip and put it on the table as he looked at her, trying hard to hold back his laugh.
He wasn't too happy about his daughter drinking and being in the state she was in, but she reminded him of you when you'd be drunk.
“I think.. I need.. to throw up,”
Seeing her gag and clasp her hand over her mouth, he'd widen his eyes and picked her up.
“Oh no, baby girl, not here. Your mother will have a whiplash,”
Carrying her to the bathroom made Caroline only gag more because of the movements, but she managed to hold it in until he put her in front of the toilet.
He turned his head away as he held her hair back, rubbing her back soothingly.
When she got everything out of her system, he'd clean her face with a damp washcloth, sitting next to her on the bathroom floor.
“I’m sorry, dad,” she’d cry, her emotions all over the place because of the alcohol. “I just wanted to try it once,”
He’d laugh, because he had held a drunk-crying you in his arms plenty of times before.
And vice versa, but Caroline didn’t need to know that.
“’S okay, little one. Just prepare for a big headache tomorrow,”
“Will it always feel like this? This miserable?”
He could tell her the truth and tell her that wasn’t the case, but his fatherly instincts took over.
“Yes, always. That’s why you should never drink anymore,”
She'd nod and when he took her in her arms, it wouldn't take her long to drift off into a slumber, snoring softly in his chest.
You were livid when you came back, even the sight of them in the bathroom didn't soften your anger.
You cleaned up your drunk daughter and brought her to bed, reminding her she was grounded for a month; something you'd remind her of the next day again.
Elvis knew he had to have your back in a situation like this and he did, but when you'd be laying in bed together, he'd tell you not to be so hard on her.
You couldn't help but worry, since alcohol was involved when you got pregnant with her and while you and Elvis turned out fine, you didn't want Caroline to lose part of her youth.
Tumblr media
When high school came to an end for Caroline, Elvis was both excited and miserable.
He was excited for her to take her next steps into the future, but also scared that his little girl was going to go out into the big world and wouldn't stop growing.
Caroline decided to take a gap year, as she hadn't figured out what she wanted to do in life yet and you and Elvis were fine with that.
Elvis was more than fine with it, because this meant she'd live at home for a little longer and he wouldn't have to say goodbye so soon.
During Caroline's graduation speech, Elvis was crying.
He'd pretend not to be, but you saw him blinking hard and pinking tears away when he thought you weren't looking.
He cheered and applauded the loudest when she finished and as soon as it was over, the two found each other and hugged each other as hard as they could.
Hugging her, you realized you were secretly just as happy as Elvis about the fact that she wasn't going off to college any time soon.
After high school, Caroline used her gap year to focus on Domino and the competitions and working at the movie theater she landed a job at; the same one her father had back in the day.
Having saved up enough money, you and Elvis decided it was time to move. Further away from downtown Memphis, and to a property with more freedom.
Graceland was huge, with enough space for Domino to live at too.
Elvis liked the sight of Domino grazing outside every morning so much, that he decided to get a horse for himself too.
Slowly but surely, Graceland turned into Graceland Stables; a fullblown riding school.
With Elvis being a known face around town and Caroline in the riding world, the school got so popular that it was enough for you and Elvis to quit your jobs.
Elvis and Caroline grew closer than they had ever been, as they now worked together every day.
You were pretty sure Caroline wasn't thinking about college at all anymore, she probably wouldn't leave any time soon but you and Elvis were more than okay with that.
As if planned by the universe; you fell pregnant not long after you quit your job, happy that Caroline would still be around to be a full-time big sister to her future baby brother.
Klaroline WIP Wed - Necromancing the Stone - The Way to My Heart is Coffee
Caroline found a very nice bottle of wine from Klaus on her porch and she decided a bath and a few more glasses to accompany her deep thinking were just what she needed.
--------------------------
By the next morning, what she decided she really needed was an ice pack and a bottle of Excedrin. Having pulled a stool up to the kitchen island, she rested her head against the cool marble surface and groaned. Idly, she wondered if she could raise herself from the grave, because surely being dead would hurt less. The full might of the Forbes ancestors behind her, and she could do nothing about a hangover.
Resentfully, she eyed her phone and thought about sending Klaus her displeasure.
The Excedrin would be easy to solve, if she could just make herself move from the barstool. It took a great deal of willpower, but eventually she crawled her way to the bathroom cabinet, and then into the shower, and then into some clothes. By the time she made her way back to the kitchen–the wallpaper paste flavor in her mouth ruthlessly scrubbed away–she was starting to feel moderately optimistic that she would survive, eventually.
The temptation to send her ex pithy messages had not abated.
Her mug from yesterday was still sitting in the Keurig, filled with cold coffee, and she dumped it out and got a new mug from the cabinet. “Take two,” she muttered, picking another pumpkin spice k-cup and popping it in the machine.
She glanced at her phone again.
A ridiculous amount of creamer was dumped into her coffee, and she sighed at the first sip. The concept of eating breakfast was completely out the window for the foreseeable future, but a caffeine infusion was exactly what she needed, all wisdom to the contrary aside. Leaning on the counter, she picked up her phone and checked her messages, like she did every morning. A text of concern from Bonnie, several social media updates, two emails from potential clients. Complete silence from Klaus.
Setting her phone down resolutely, she wandered back to her workroom with an eye to check on her progress on the protection amulet she was weaving for a mother who was very concerned about her daughter’s first year at university. It was delicate work, very fiddly until it was completed. Would take all her concentration.
Caroline was back at the island in three minutes, pulling up her texts and glaring at the “Hello love” sitting on her screen.
‘Not that I’m accusing you of trying to murder me, but a hangover is a particularly cruel way to go.’ she typed out, and then sent before she could think about it too much. Savagely, she turned her screen off and left her phone there. Klaus was an antique, who knew how long it would take him to respond.
She got as far as the hallway to the back of the house when her phone buzzed against the counter. It was embarrassing how quickly she managed to have her phone unlocked, in hand. “Stop it,” she told herself sternly. “You’re mad at him.”
‘It sounds like you did some thinking. I could bring you coffee? As I recall, that always helped.’ Oh, that smooth motherfucker.
“‘See really, I remember you, Caroline, also please invite me into your house, so I can stalk you more thoroughly,’” she mocked to herself, taking a picture of her coffee mug. The porch light hadn’t been forgotten yet, the puzzle on her mind of what human he’d gotten to unlock her front door, flip the light from the porch, and then relock the door. Her house wards hadn’t been set off by someone stepping into her living room, her wards showed no signs of tampering, and clearly the parameter wards hadn’t gone off in her absence.
Also, there was the bone deep feeling that Klaus would never mean her physical harm. The opposite, in fact, to a sometimes infuriating degree.
Sending him the picture of her mug, she typed out, ‘Thanks, but I’ve got it covered.’ Sitting with that a minute made snakes writhe in her belly. Was she being too bitchy? His apology seemed genuine, and while something petty in her wanted him to suffer for the past year, Caroline had spent more time hanging onto that love than not.
Her throat stuck a little as she noted the message had been read. Before she could change her mind, she kept typing. ‘I could go for another cup around 1. There’s a coffee shop on Beaudecker St.’
His reply was almost immediate. ‘I’ll meet you there?’
She agreed, and then set her phone down for the final time, resting her still pounding forehead against the counter. It wasn’t a weight off her shoulders, and in fact the snakes in her stomach seemed to have spontaneously turned to birds, but it was something. Not a promise to forgive him, but at least a step in a direction, instead of the circles she’d been running in since he’d left her porch the day before. At least she could ask him how Kol and Rebekah were.
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
I don't have a screenshot, but I do remember seeing a post that said Elena is a manipulator who is the way she is because she plays on social dynamics to get the most powerful people to protect her, and hides behind them, using them as shields. This is a very weird take because if it was true Elena would've played on Elijah's emotions for Katherine, or made deals with/seduced Klaus rather than stay with her friends and the Salvatores. Also, it is Damon and Stefan who manipulate Elena and not the other way around, she simply reacts to them and tries to hold on to as much of her agency as possible. So that was something I vehemently disagreed with.
6. which ship fans are the most annoying?
Klaroline. They actually bullied Leah Pipes and sent her death threats until she left the show, they bullied Phoebe for playing Hayley who 'comes between' Klaus and Caroline, hell, they even bullied Joseph's wife for marrying him, and I've heard that a lot of the stuff was extremely racist.
Also, I know this asks for one, but they are tied for me, Nian shippers. Ian and Nina are actual people and not characters on a show, there's no need to ship them, and there's certainly no need to send death threats to Nikki Reed. It just gets embarrassing at one point.
9. worst part of canon
Um....only one? Well, I know a lot of people have expressed their disappointment about the doppelgänger connection not being fleshed out, which I completely agree with, but I think I'm going to go with the sire bond.
There's two I wanna dissect - the first is Tyler's bond to Klaus, and the second is Elena's bond to Damon, and the different ways in which they are treated by the narrative.
Tyler's sire bond is treated like it's a bad thing, and rightfully so. We see many uncomfortable scenes which show Tyler's absolute devotion to Klaus, all of it coming to a head when Klaus makes Tyler bite Caroline. Tyler is a victim, a victim who is, at times, shamed for being connected to Klaus in that way. But once it is clear that Tyler doesn't have his free will, people want to help him. The Mystic 'gang' collectively decides not to involve Tyler in their plans because they know he can't help himself. Bill Forbes helps him break the sire bond, and it is acknowledged that the best thing for Tyler is to stay away from Klaus.
(There is a tangent here about how Klaus and Tyler are two sides of the same coin and how the two of them are foils to each other, but we'll discuss that some other day.)
After this, Tyler has a need for revenge against Klaus, rightfully so, and initially everyone is ready to help him. In short, despite how Tyler is treated on the show later on, during s3-4, most characters acknowledge that sire bond is bad, and Tyler should stay from Klaus.
Now, this is the thing I hate most about canon - Elena's sire bond to Damon. This was supposedly based on feelings Elena had for Damon when she was human. At first, we see Elena being a 'wrong' vampire, unable to drink animal blood, blood bags, anything that doesn't involve hurting people because Damon said so. To put this in perspective, as a new vampire, Elena starves herself almost to the point of death because of the sire bond. Then, we see her break up with Stefan - which I did not think came out of nowhere - and hooking up with Damon the next night or something. This is when we learn that she's sired to Damon.
At this point, knowing what we know about Tyler inability to refuse Klaus' orders, we can draw the conclusion that Elena could never have refused Damon's demand for sex due to the sire bond. At best, this is dub-con. And yet, the whole 'Elena and Damon slept together' thing is treated by the narrative as simply hooking up, or even, as the resolution of sexual tension that was building over three season. When the cause for the sire bond is revealed, we are told that it is because of Elena's feelings for Damon, effectively blaming Elena for the existence of the sire bond. (With Tyler and Klaus, Klaus' actions are blamed for it, once again, rightfully so.)
Even after the knowledge of the sire bond, Damon refuses to let Elena go. Stefan is hurt that Elena's 'in love' with Damon and slept with him, and Stefan, the same Stefan who spends all of season 3 wanting to take revenge against Klaus for stealing his free will, never once acknowledges the fact that Elena slept with Damon at a time when her ability to consent was compromised. In fact, Stefan acts like the victim in this situation and sleeps with Rebekah (who murdered her) for the purpose of getting back at Elena and when he's confronted with this fact, he tells Elena she has no right to be jealous. Some epic love. But, this is how Stefan treats Elena during the sire bond situation.
Caroline, while knowing about the sire bond, despite herself being a victim of Damon's, simply blames Elena for breaking Stefan's heart. Jeremy doesn't seem to know or care, but both him and Bonnie get a pass because they were going through shit in s4.
Basically, when it comes to the sire bond between Damon and Elena, the narrative treats it as a romantic thing, something beautiful that came out of their feelings for each other instead of treating it as the fucked up thing it is. The victim in this situation is blamed, and no one wants to keep Elena away from Damon because he might hurt her, they want to keep her away from him because otherwise Stefan's feelings will be hurt (at this point, I'm through with both the Salvatores and their 'pain', cry me a river).
In conclusion, the worst thing about canon is not just the sire bond between Damon and Elena, but the way the narrative treats it.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
John Gilbert, I think. It’s an odd choice because he’s a dick, leaving Elena and Jeremy to fend for themselves after their parents’ death and then criticising Jenna for a job not done well was terrible. But other than that, he was in town to keep the Salvatores away from Elena, which I can get. His seventeen year old daughter/niece is dating a hundred and fifty year old vampires and his brother is a creep preying on her, I’d want them away from her too.
He doesn’t go about it in the best way, but he does his best, and eventually, he gives up his life for her, so that she can choose whether or not to become a vampire. I hate that he sees all vampires as monsters but that hate was something he was likely taught until he came upon some vampire feeding on/killing someone innocent, playing with them the way we Isobel, Katherine, and Damon doing as well, and his hate took a life of its own. I do appreciate his dedication though, he teaches himself to be resistant to compulsion, and at least tries to protect people, even if he is extremely arrogant.
I’m not saying people should like him per say, but I don’t think he deserves the hate he gets.
Klaus x reader - fight for you
Tumblr media
I still don't know either of those characters BUT you do real good work w/ em so here are some angst/fluff prompts! Use them for whichever character. The prompts (I'm thinking abt an angsty kidnap/rescue): “I'll find her if I have to burn this town to the ground to do it." "There's no way you're making it out alive now." (to the kidnapper, I'm a sucker for protective fictional men) "Why do you care?" "Because you don't." (I'm thinking directed at the Squad for not caring about reader as much as they would Elena) (reader being tough, had almost rescued themselves) "I had it handled." "Tell that to the stitches." (Caring for wounds, also makes me melt) "Nobody's gonna get to you again. Not without getting past me." Obviously, exact wording can change for the character's voice, and you're welcome to use as many or as few of these as spark joy, or save unused ones for another thingy. I know this became kinda a lot. Have fun with it! - Anon💜
You had been gone for what felt like years.
Had it been days? Weeks?
You had no idea, held in the tiny room you had lost all perception of time. All you remembered was leaving the Elena’s, and waking up in this small cramped room.
At least they were kind enough to let you walk around it.
There was things everywhere, pipes, bricks. It was almost as if you were in a building that was supposed to be getting taken down, or done up.
Sighing, you rested your back against the wall at looked to the ceiling.
“Food.”
The door was opened, some stale bread thrown in and it was slammed shut again before you could even make a move.
Grabbing the stale bread, you looked at it and tossed it to the side, you weren’t eating that, who knows what was on this floor.
“Come on guys…” you whispered.
You wondered when they were going to save you. But you saw the video, they just ignored the letter and tossed it aside.
Did they even know?
Then another thought ran through your head.
Did Klaus know?
You and him had a strange relationship, he was always kind and caring towards you. But around the others he held it back, though he never once hurt you.
You had met him before it came out who he was, and you had been friends with him for a few months before that, it was hard to throw away a friendship straight away, and it was even harder since you grew feelings for him.
You should’ve told him when you had the chance.
At the ball, the group were plotting on what to do with Klaus when the hybrid came walking over.
His eyes scanned the group before the furrowed slightly.
“You’re missing one.” He said.
“What’s it to you?” Damon snapped.
Klaus smirked a little, leaning against the wall next to him.
“Oh nothing really, I’m just surprised she isn’t with you.”
Bonnie turned to the others.
“He’s got a point, I haven’t seen (Y/N) for a few days. Have you guys?”
One by one they shook their heads.
“You know what she’s like.” Caroline smiled.
“Yeah, but missing out on the ball she helped plan, that’s not like her.” Jeremy noted.
Klaus frowned even more as he listened to them all talk and anger welled you inside of him.
“You lost her?” He growled lowly.
“She’s got nothing to do with you, you probably took her!” Stefan snapped.
Klaus quickly appeared before Stefan, pinning him to the wall, fangs bared at the other vampire.
“Shut your mouth, before I shut it for you.” He sneered.
With that, he dropped Stefan and started to storm away.
For the rest of the night they didn’t see Klaus, not until they were leaving and they saw him talking to the sheriff and the mayor.
“You didn’t think to mention that (Y/N)s missing?” Forbes whisper yelled at them.
“We didn’t know mom!” Caroline whisper yelled back.
“Well thankfully, Klaus has agreed to help us find her.” The mayor smiled.
Everyone turned to Klaus with a mixture of suspicion and confusion.
“What’re your going to do?” Damon scoffed, “find her then kidnap her yourself?”
Klaus turned around, walking over he stood a few inches away from the cocky vampire, tilting his head backwards a little as he stared at them all.
“I'll find her, even if I have to burn this town to the ground to do it." He whispered.
With that, he left and they made it their mission to find you before klaus had the chance too. God knows what he’d do when he found you.
You were dragged from your small room and tossed into the middle of a larger room where a small group of vampires stood around you.
They smirked and looked between one another.
“This is her?”
“The one he placed a protection order on.” Another nodded.
You waited a few moments and while they were talking you looked around, spotting a broken chair close by, you carefully crawled over to it.
Grabbing the leg, you were quickly spun around and you shoved it through his chest.
“Screw you…” you whispered.
You were picked up and punched in the face, blood dripping down your nose, and you were thrown to the side.
More wounds opened up as you rolled over the broken glass and wood.
“You’ll pay for that bitch.” A man snarled.
He stormed over and grabbed you by the neck, holding you up.
You looked at him, making sure to stare directly into his eyes.
Before he could do anything you heard something get kicked down.
“Put her down!” A voice roared.
You recognised that voice, you’d know it anywhere. He had a distinctive accent.
“You’ll have to kill me before I kill her.” The man smirked.
Before he could even do anything, a hand was through his chest, and his heart was ripped out.
His grip laced and you crumpled to the floor.
Pushing yourself up, you looked at Klaus as he dropped the heart to the floor.
His eyes connected with yours.
He was furious, but while he looked at you his gaze was soft and caring.
Slowly, he turned around, stripping his jacket off, he dropped it over you and started to stalk forward.
“There's no way you're making it out alive now." He smirked.
He was quick to take on the vampires, and while he did you heard others creep in.
Turning your head to the entrance, you saw them all running over, Caroline, Bonnie, Damon and Stefan took on the vampires that charged them while the others ran around.
“(Y/N)!” Elena called.
“Are you okay?” Jeremy asked.
Before they could even get close to you Klaus was crouched behind you.
You could see his knees on either side of you, and you felt him adjust his jacket on your shoulders, doing the button up so it would stay in place.
“Get away from her.” Alaric warned.
“Or what? You wouldn’t do anything to hurt her.”
Klaus placed a hand on your shoulder and you looked back at him before turning back to the others.
“Klaus let her go or I’ll kill you myself.” Caroline snarled.
“How about this? We’ll just see who she chooses, Hm?”
Klaus got, he walked in front of you, holding his hand out while he stared at the others, a smirk on his lips.
Then he turned to you and it melted away it a small smile.
“Stand up love.”
You placed your hand in his and let him pull you up and steady you.
When you were okay on your feet, he let go and walked behind you.
“(Y/N) let’s go.” Alaric said.
You were torn.
Did you go with your friends, or did you go with Klaus. The man who actually saved you?
You didn’t know what to do.
“That’s it.” Damon snapped.
He started to storm over but before he could even lay a hand on you, Klaus was in front of you once more.
He gripped Damon’s wrist and with ease he tossed the vampire to the side.
“Why do you care?" Bonnie asked.
Klaus looked at them, gestured to the dead vampires then to your injured form.
“Because you don't." He replied.
With that, he turned to you.
“Love, who do you wish to go with?”
You looked at your friends before looking at him.
He was right, they didn’t care. You knew the vampires sent a note to them when they took you, because they showed you a video of them delivering it.
Slowly, you limped over to the hybrid, and you lightly gripped the back of his top, turning to the others.
“Just go.” You whispered.
“You can’t be serious? Klaus? Really?” Stefan asked.
“He saved me, you guys didn’t. I was about to die and he was there, you weren’t. You only came after he dealt with them. So go.”
“You heard it yourself.” Klaus said.
Facing you, he quickly picked you up, and you groaned in pain at the sudden movement.
“Let’s get you home then.”
Klaus breezed past them, a cocky smirk on his face and put you in his car before driving you back to your apartment.
Again, he picked you up and carried you up the stairs, standing in front of the door.
“A little help love?” He asked.
You rolled your eyes.
“Right, come in.”
He waltzed in, sitting you on the edge of your bed before holding a finger up to you.
He bit his wrist and held it out.
“No, no blood.”
“Why?”
“I want to heal naturally. Without the help of vampire blood.”
He sped away and returned with what looked to be things from the hospital.
“Did you rob a hospital?”
“I merely borrowed from the hospital love.”
“Jesus Christ…” you mumbled.
“Not quite.” He smirked.
Rolling your eyes, you took his jacket off and set it to the side, letting him clean the blood from your skin before he started fixing you up.
"I had it handled."
You watched Klaus carefully stitch up the cut on your arm before he started to clean your face.
“Tell that to the stitches."
You laughed softly, and he smiled.
He held your face with one hand, and stitched your cheek with his other hand before he put everything aside.
He looked you up and down, frowning at the sight of your bruised body.
Kneeling, he took your hand in his and pressed a tender kiss to your knuckles.
“Nobody's gonna get to you again. Not without getting past me." He mumbled.
You smiled, reaching your, you ran your fingers through his hair before you rested your hand on the side of his neck.
“You’re the one who put the no harm order out?”
“Of course I was love, you’re much to important for me to loose.”
Sliding from the bed, you let your knees hit the floor as you took his face between his hands.
“I love you Klaus.”
With that, you leant forward and gently kissed him.
And he eagerly kissed back, everything you had both been hiding spilling out in that one kiss
We were robbed of a Tyler Lockwood/Lizzie Saltzman relationship
Let's be honest here: if Julie Plec wasn't an idiot - and Caroline's pregnancy still happened - there is NO way Tyler wouldn't have been something to Lizzie and Josie's lives.
Now, I get it. People grow apart, relationships change, and we can all agree (especially his stans) that Tyler Lockwood needed to get his ass out of Mystic Falls! But let's be honest, while Tyler may have moved on from Caroline - it shouldn't mean he didn't have some relationship with her kids.
What do I mean? Case in point: Tyler knew or had some relationship with the Gemini Coven and its prominent family, the Parkers. He faced the Travelers, the Gemini's enemies, and saved Liz Forbes (Lizzie's surrogate grandmother & namesakes) from being possessed by a Traveler at the cost of being possessed himself. Not to mention, he knew about the Merge and protected his deceased then-girlfriend (Lizzie and Josie's aunt Olivia) from her coven and helped her grief when her twin brother, Lukas, died in the Merge with Kai to protect Jo. And as he worked with the Armory, he probably knew a lot more stuff.
In essence, Tyler had a good chunk of personal history he could have shared with the twins.
Furthermore, if you look at Legacies as a whole, Lizzie had gone through a lot of things Tyler went through:
Heightened emotions & prone to anger - Bipolar Disorder and Anger Issues
Felt unloved and/or betrayed by their fathers - Alaric Saltzman & Richard Lockwood
Used or disrespected by loved ones
Former bullies turned friends with their victims
Misunderstood with few willing to see past their personas - MG & Matt/Jeremy
Popular students in school
More than willing to get involved in school activities
Loyal to their loved ones and friends
Always trying to change and be better people
Unhealthy coping methods - Sex, drinking, and breaking things (interchangeably)
Undeniable love/appreciation for Caroline
Taken advantage by vampires/adults older than them (for Tyler, Klaus, and Kelly Donovan - for Lizzie, Sebastian)
Willingness to do anything and risk their lives for their friends
Easily accepted their Hybrid statuses despite the circumstances of their transitions
Been sire-bonded to a Mikaelson (Klaus/Hope)
(Above) Broken free from their sire bond (Klaus/Hope)
Sought out to get justice for their hurt/dead parent (again by Klaus/Hope)
Learned to move on passed revenge
There's a lot more if you keep digging, but it says a lot about how similar they are. And while Lizzie did get the better end of the stick with Hope, it says so much just how much Lizzie has gone through and - if done right - how much Tyler could have been an important figure to her, helping her work through her darker moments because HE'S BEEN THERE!
(And let's be honest: Tyler survived casual abuse and manipulation from Richard Lockwood, shadiness from his Uncle Mason, and slavery from KLAUS MIKAELSON! With all that and his ability to see the truth - you know he would be a foot away from beating Alaric's ass for being a shitty parent. Like Lizzie, they had also been through similar events, and Tyler would call out Alaric's BS parenting!)
