I wanted that events of the fic would take a place during season 2-3 where Caroline just become vampire, and Damon and Stefan's relationship were complicated. So, Stefan and Damon would get into a big argument. Stef leaves with hurt feelings. Elena and Caroline meets him in town and asks whats wrong. Stef is not in the mood, he snaps at them and says nothing. Then he leaves, gets ambushed and kidnapped.
Arguments

Stefan Salvatore x Damon Salvatore x Caroline Forbes
Warnings: kidnapping, mentions of blood, swearing I think
A/n: My inbox is flooded with requests, I am trying to get them all written and posted to the best of my abilities. So if you have recently requested something, don't worry, I haven't forgotten. They will get written as soon as I can!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stefan storms out of the boarding house after just having a fight with his older brother. He wipes away the glistening tears from his eyes.
This isn't how it used to be between him and Damon. When they were human, they had the best relationship. He could go to Damon about anything and his older brother would always be the one to comfort him and he knew he could rely on his big brother.
"Just think about it, everything that happened is your fault! Mother died because you were born, Katherine stayed and turned us into vampires because she saw you, you forced me to transition, and countless other things!" Damon yelled, which resulted in Stefan leaving.
All the guilt he has tried so hard to push away comes crashing back like a wave. He keeps his composure up, walks to the park in the square, and sits on one of the benches. He takes deep breaths, not wanting to have a breakdown in public.
Caroline calls Elena, telling her about the fight that had taken place and Stefan running off in the direction of town. She had been about to leave her car which was parked outside the house when her vamp hearing picked up the screaming voices and then saw Stefan leave in a hurry.
Caroline drives as quickly as she can to Elena's house, picking her up on the way deeper into the busier parts of town.
She parks by the grill, the sun setting and she and Elena jump out of the car.
After not even two minutes, they spot Stefan hunched over on a bench, leg moving up and down repeatedly.
"Stefan!" Elena calls out to the vampire.
"Oh, Elena, Caroline, hi" Stefan looks up, surprise evident on his face.
"Are you alright?" Caroline asks softly, sitting on the bench beside him. He looks over at her, confusion in his eyes. It takes Stefan a moment until he figures that she and Elena will find out about the fight and then tell him that Damon's right. It's the knowledgeable answer, considering he just got his humanity back and trying to get back into his old routine.
Not waiting another minute, Stefan gets up and quickly vamps away. He keeps running until he's out of town and just walking through the woods.
As he's passing massive trees and stepping on fallen leaves, he gets the feeling someone is following him.
He turns around, thinking it's Caroline. But he's wrong, the last thing he sees is a muscular, tall man before getting grabbed from behind and slammed against a tree repeatedly til he passes out.
Caroline and Elena sigh. "What do we do now?" Elena asks, worriedly.
"Let's just give him some space, I'll try talking to him tomorrow," Caroline says softly. Elena nods, knowing her best friend has good judgment.
They head to the grill to have dinner.
The first word that comes to Stefan's head is pain. It feels like his entire body is on fire. He opens his eyes, only to find he's trapped in a room with no windows, only a small vent, and a door with a handle that's most definitely locked.
Looking down, he sees where the pain is coming from. There are two small stakes in his hands, pinning them down to the chair's arms. Three stakes lodged into his stomach, but not too close to get his heart. And a stake in each of his thighs, by the feeling of it, they're all the way through and sticking out at the bottom of his thighs.
He lets out a small whimper of pain, hoping whoever took him couldn't hear.
The next thing he knew was someone who walked into the room, the key to the door, he assumed, in hand and a wicked smirk playing on his face.
This can't be good, Stefan thinks to himself.
It's been four days since Caroline and Elena saw Stefan in the park, and neither of them could reach him on the phone, and couldn't find him when they searched.
Caroline made the decision to go to Damon. If anyone knows where Stefan is, it's going to be him. Well, other than Katherine, but of course this is one of the only times she can be useful and she's not here.
Without knocking, she walks into the boarding house. She walks through the house til she finds the oldest Salvatore in the library, drinking bourbon.
"Ever heard of knocking, blondie?" Damon quips.
"Oh, please, you never lock the door anyways" Caroline rolls her eyes. "Anyways, I was wondering if you know where Stefan is, I haven't been able to reach him or find him for the last four days. The last time I saw him, he was on a bench in the park, and when I asked if he was okay, he just vamped away" she tells Damon.
Damon pauses his movement to bring his glass to his lips. His head tilts, and he puts his glass down, walking toward the baby vampire.
"That may have something to do with our argument that happened," Damon says, thinking about how he hasn't been at all worried about his brother, but he isn't going to show that in front of Caroline.
"I know, I heard you guys yelling before he stormed off after" Caroline crosses her arms.
"Well then, we should go start a search party," Damon says with a smirk, hiding the fact that he's extremely worried about his baby brother.
Caroline follows Damon out of the house and into his car. "He looks at her with an eyebrow raised. "What? You think I'm going to let you look for him by yourself" Caroline says.
Damon doesn't even try to fight with her on this, starting up the Camaro. He drives up, out of town. "Where are you taking us?" Caroline asks.
"Well, if you've already checked the entire town, I'm guessing you didn't go out of town?" Damon tells her. He stops the car two meters into the woods. Caroline sends another questioning look towards him.
Damon sighs, "When we were kids, and our father was drinking more than usual, I would bring Stefan into these woods, and to a cave that I found before he was born," Damon tells her, walking towards where the cave is.
"That's...really sweet of you" Caroline shocks herself by saying this.
Stefan tries his best not to cry out in pain, he's been stuck in this place for days, and the only person he's seen was a man who he still doesn't know who he is.
"I hope your brother comes to get you soon, it'll be real sad if he gets here too late and finds his baby brother dead," The man says from where he's standing in front of the teenager.
"H-how do you know my brother?" Stefan looks at him with tired eyes.
"We used to be good buds in the eighties" The man shrugs, obviously holding back information. Stefan grunts, knowing he won't be getting any more.
As Damon and Caroline near the cave, Damon stops suddenly. The movement making Caroline bump into him. "What-"
"Shhhh. Do you hear that" he whispers to the blonde.
Caroline focuses her hearing, picking up on two shallow voices. She nods her head. They turn right and start following the voices, both familiar to Damon, one his brother's and the other he just can't place.
"Oh, it seems we have company" the man whispers into Stefan's ear before taking the screwdriver in his hand and stabbing it into the teen's neck. The action causes Stefan to cry out before his eyes glaze over and he falls unconscious.
Damon and Caroline approach an old, beat down, abandon looking cabin. Just as they step up on the porch, the tall, bulky man appears in front of the two.
"Where's Stefan?" Caroline demands more than asks, fire in her eyes.
"He's not in the best shape" the man smirks, looking at Damon the entire time.
Recognition flickers in his eyes. "Jake" Damon says. "Long time, hasn't it, Damon. I've been waiting for the day to get my revenge on you, and I must say, it feels amazing. I mean you or your brother never even saw it coming, I wonder if he's okay? I'm guessing not" Jake tells, a sadistic smile on his face.
Before he can utter another word, his heart is found in Damon hand. Caroline goes into the run down cabin, he follows right after her. "So, how exactly did you know him" Caroline brakes the silence.
"We met in the eighties and blah, blah, blah, got into a battle let's say, and he wants revenge. And that's all you get to know" Damon answers her, obviously skipping on key details.
Caroline goes one way while Damon goes the other. She finds a passage leading down to a basement. She walks down the stairs and through the hall until she comes up to a door.
Looking through the small barred area of the door, she sees Stefan slumped forward in the chair.
"Oh my god, Stefan" she gasps. "Damon, get down here!" She yells as she goes into the dungeon, torture chamber room, as she likes to call it.
Damon vamps down to the basement. He freezes when he takes in his brother's appearance and what has been done to him. Quickly coming out of it, he races over, helping Caroline pull out the stakes jammed in his little brother.
Stefan's eyes start flickering open. He looks up at the two people pulling the stakes out of him. They're...saving him? His head starts to pound, quickly closing his eyes, he passes out.
"Come on, let's go," Damon tells Caroline. He picks his brother up in his arms. He's lighter than he expected.
Carrying Stefan to the Camaro reminds Damon of carrying him to bed or through the woods when he was little. He lays his little brother in the backseat.
He drives the three of them back into town, to the boarding house. During the drive, Stefan squirms around, feeling relief in his body after sitting in that chair for almost five days. Damon's eyes go to the blind spot mirror multiple times in the short drive, making sure his little brother's alright.
When they're back at the house, Damon carries his sleeping brother into the living room and lays him on the couch. Caroline sets a fire in the fireplace as he does so.
Damon stares down at his brother's relaxed face. His eyes wander down to a bright red vein on his brother's neck. Getting a closer look, he pulls down on the collar of his shirt, revealing a nasty bite. And by the looks of it, caused by a werewolf.
-
"I have a surprise for you today" Jake smiles toward Stefan.
Stefan looks behind the vampire, seeing the other man from the woods. His eyebrows knit in confusion. What's so special about a random man?
Before he could think of another question, the man came over to him. Fangs emerge from his gums and the next second, Stefan cries out in pain.
"There we go, a little spicing up" Jack chuckles. And in a second, the hybrid's head was on the ground, caused by Jack's hand slicing through his neck. "Can't have any loose ends, now can we?"
-
"Blondie," Damon says. Caroline walks over and gasps at the bite mark on Stefan's neck.
"Oh my god...what are we going to do, go to Klaus? Will he even listen or-" Caroline starts working herself up. "Calm down, I'll get this all sorted out. What I need you to do, is look after Stefan, got it?" Damon looks into her eyes.
She nods before he vamps out the door, heading to a certain Original's mansion.
Caroline sits down on the other couch, across from Stefan. She takes deep breaths, trying not to freak out.
As she's spaced off in her mind, Stefan starts twitching. He soon regains the motions to move and control his body. He opens his eyes, looking around the room he's in until his eyes land on the blond sitting across the coffee tables.
"What happened? How did I get here?" Stefan croaks out.
Caroline immediately snaps out of her thoughts. She faces the other vampire, a smile growing on her face. "You're awake! Damon and I brought you back here half an hour ago, Stef" she tells him softly.
Stefan moves to sit up, but whimpers as he does. A searing pain washes through his shoulder and across his chest and neck. Caroline vamps over beside him, putting an arm around his shoulders.
"Hey, take it easy. You've been tortured for almost a week and have a werewolf bite"
"I'm gonna die," Stefan says what he's thinking.
"No. No, you're not. Damon is out fixing this right now. We just have to wait until he gets back" Caroline says with a confident attitude. She won't let Stefan die on her watch, no way in hell.
Stefan slumps against his friend, exhausted. His head is lying against her shoulder. The fabric of the shirt she's wearing is nice and soft and feels good on his cheek.
Caroline wraps her other arm around Stefan, pulling him close in her arms. They sit there, cuddled up, as they wait for Damon to come back.
Twenty minutes later the door slams open and shut, ruining the peace and quiet.
Damon vamps into the room, a glass in hand, filled halfway with blood. Blood, she can only assume is Klaus'.
"Drink, Stef," he says in the most gentle voice Caroline has ever heard him use. He holds the glass up to the younger's lips and tilts it up.
Stefan drinks the blood until there's no more to come out. He sighs as he pulls away, feeling the pain of the bite vanish.
"You feeling better now?" Damon asks. Stefan nods his head, sitting up straighter.
Caroline unwraps her arms from him and stands, "I'll leave you guys to it" She smiles lightly before leaving the room quietly.
Stefan looks up at Damon, "How did you get Klaus to give you his blood?"
"That is something that I'll never reveal" Damon answers the younger vampire, and sits beside him.
"...I'm sorry I ruined everything" Stefan quietly says, looking down at his feet.
Damon stiffens before turning to face his brother. He places a hand on his shoulder. "I didn't mean that, you didn't ruin everything, Mom's death wasn't your fault, and I know you didn't want to be alone. I'm sorry I told you they were, Stef" Damon says softly.
Stefan looks up at him, tears in his eyes, "You mean it?"
"Of course I do. Come here" Damon pulls his baby brother into his arms, hugging him close to his chest. Stefan tightly hugs him back.
"I love you, you know that, right?" Damon asks his little brother. Stefan looks up at him, nodding "I love you too".
❛ i don’t think i’ve ever seen you smile. ❜ (by a surprised amara)
Tumblr media
To be fair, there wasn't much Katherine had to smile about in the current situation she was in- so that wasn't exactly surprising. Even if she did smile, it was either a devious one or an empty one. Both one would assume Amara didn't count as a real smile.
However the one she had just bore witness to? This was a genuine smile that reached all the way to her eyes and even seemed to brighten the room. It was a rare smile only one person is capable of pulling from her.
Stefan.
He had brought her something out of the blue. A little box of strawberries he'd picked up in town. Unprompted. She hadn't asked. Which told Katherine he saw them, and he thought of her. Clearly it couldn't have been a bad thought, he had brought her back a gift. Even handed it to her with a gentle smile.
How could Katherine not be happy? How could she not just light up completely when presented with a gift by the one person she loves more than anything in the world? Katherine was so genuinely happy, that she didn't even get defensive or embarrassed when Amara called her out. Maybe just a little bashful..
Tumblr media
"Yea well, first time for everything.... do you want one?" Katherine chuckled as she held out the little box of strawberries.
The tvd writers were like 'Steroline can only happen if we make Stefan an absolute dick to Caroline first' like woah I'm sorry what? They were best friends!! I woulda been more onboard with their relationship if they'd continued the vibes from their friendship over instead of dissolving everything first like who's fucking idea was that
okay but i love that elena (who has every reason to loathe klaus btw) suggests they get klaus over to MF (despite him - to their knowledge - being all the way in NOLA being a baby daddy?) to save d*mon’s life
which implies that elena trusts klaus to just drop everything to save her boyfriend whom klaus doesn’t even like
AND!!!!!!!! caroline told klaus to get his ass over to MF and he did
anyways the klaulena and klaroline rights are unparalleled uwu
𝕺𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐔𝐏𝐎𝐍 𝐀 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄, there was a vast enchanted forest called the Moors. This forest existed a long time ago, even before humans settled within its borders, and it was home to countless magical creatures who lived free. Creatures that humans had never dreamed could exist. They all had their uniqueness and strangeness, and even though they were from different species, they lived in harmony with each other ⸻ something that sometimes even members of the same species could not do. The Moors were neither a kingdom nor a dynasty. Hierarchy was unknown among its inhabitants, everyone was equal (even with their differences). However, the forest had its guardians, the fairies. Fairies, specifically forest fairies, were powerful beings who served as protectors of the forests. They were responsible for keeping the Pillar of Harmony intact and protecting the forest from those with evil and malicious intentions.
When the first humans established their kingdom near the edge of the forest, the relationship between them and the inhabitants of the Moors was one of the best ⸻ which seemed surprising. Curiosity ran through both worlds, which were close but different in many ways. However, as the years went by, this friendly relationship seemed to become more unstable and fragile.
Until the fateful day when Moors lost his guardian to human greed.
Stefan, the young prince of the human kingdom, had greed and selfishness in his heart when he tried to dream that one day he could control the Moors as well as his own kingdom. But things didn't go according to plan and it backfired.
On a frosty dawn, Stefan and a few guards set out on a mission to capture the wings of the Moors' guardian fairy, imprison her, and finally take over the forest. Not as discreet as they should have been, they entered the forest before dawn, armed and determined. Things began to go wrong when, instead of capturing the guardian fairy, they first captured her four-year-old son, Geto Suguru.
The little fairy boy, who was absent-mindedly wandering through the forest, watching the day creatures rest while the night creatures went on with their lives, didn't notice the humans approaching with their evil intentions, and the next thing he knew, he was grabbed by the arms. The boy whimpered and cried, trying desperately to free himself from the arms that were twice his size and stronger than his frail frame. Geto let out an agonizing scream as he felt the metal chains wrapped around the beginning of his wings. The pain and burning made the boy choke on his screams and tears, which mingled into a painful sound.
Once Stefan had gained the wings of the helpless child, he pursued his ambition to gain the wings of the Guardian of the Moors. Geto was thrown to the side, writhing in pain and crying for his lost wings. The pain seemed unbearable. Not just the physical pain, but the pain of knowing that he could no longer fly, that he would never touch the sky again. His freedom in the sky, where no one could reach him, had been taken from him when he was still a helpless child.
"My son..." Geto heard his mother's voice and her footsteps approaching his slumped body. "My dear son... what have they done to you?"
"There you are, Guardian of the Moors." Stefan spat out the words with contempt.
"Young Prince Stefan of the realm of men..." the fairy said, trying to control her anger, "Give my son back his wings!”
"If you give me yours, I might think about returning his... if I don't take them for myself in the future."
"You will regret this moment." The woman's hand closed tightly on her staff.
"And why would I regret it? You're a freak!"
"Your wife is pregnant with a beautiful baby girl who is about to be born, and in a few months, if not weeks, you will take over your human kingdom... it would be a shame to have something as precious as your daughter taken away from you."
"How do you know that, you witch?!" the man shouted angrily.
"Listen, everyone," the fairy said, drawing everyone's attention as a green spell emanated from her, "The princess will indeed grow up with grace and beauty and be loved by those who know her, but at sunset on her eighteenth birthday, she will stick her finger through the spindle of a spinning wheel and then fall into the deep sleep of death! A sleep from which she will never awaken unless awakened by a kiss of true love! And this curse will last forever, no power on earth can change it!"
"How dare you curse my daughter, barely born!" Stefan drew his sword from its sheath and positioned himself to attack the guardian.
"And how dare you rip my son's wings off and think you'd get away with it!"
Geto's eyes blurred with tears and an unbearable pain in his back as he watched his mother fight the future king. The little boy couldn't keep up with what was happening, his head was spinning and the only thing he could see was his mother's last breaths as she was caught off guard at a clear disadvantage in the unfair fight. As his mother fell to her knees, he felt the earth tremble and huge thorns grow larger along the edges of the Moors. Frightened, and not knowing what those giant thorns were, Stefan and his companions fled with Geto's wings, happy that they had killed the guardian of Moors and won her son's wings. Without enough strength, the boy crawled over to his mother's fallen body. He rocked the woman from side to side, trying to wake her, but his actions seemed to be in vain. His mother's heartbeat could no longer be heard. With a tightness in his chest, Geto lay down on his mother's lifeless body and cried himself unconscious.
Deep down, he wished this was all just a nightmare that would end the next day. And he would live happily ever after with his mother.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ✶
With the Wall of Thorns, Moors was protected from any threat from humans or any other creature that tried to take over the forest. Geto thought that time would make him forget that tragic night in his life, but he couldn't have been more wrong. But time only helped him develop a dislike for humans and their arrogance and greed. Time helped Geto work hard to train his powers and learn to live without his wings. Even at the age of eight, he had incredible abilities that might have taken longer to learn.
The sun was rising in the east, and while the nocturnal creatures went to their shelters, the daytime creatures awoke to the sun's rays and began their day. Little Suguru, eight years old, followed the forest path to a lake he always went to in the morning. Ever since he was a baby, his mother had taken him to the pond to pick some of the plants that grew around the edge of the pond. It was a little routine that kept his mother's memory alive.
Geto just didn't expect to be followed that morning.
"Who's there?" The boy turned when he heard the hurried footsteps, but there was no one there. He returned to his destination, but the footsteps followed him again, "Whoever it is, I don't want to play!" A low chuckle echoed through the room, causing Geto to roll his eyes. With an idea in his head, he started on his way again. When the one following him was least expecting it, Suguru quickly turned around to see a little girl half his age fall to the ground, startled by the boy's sudden movement, "What do you think you're doing following me?" Geto crossed his arms in front of him, but all he got in return was a giggle.
Geto watched the little girl sitting on the ground. She didn't seem to belong to any of the species that sheltered in the Moors. She resembled Geto physically, but she didn't have wings or a pair of horns.
"Why do you have horns?" the little girl asked with a smile. She stood up, slapped her hand on her baby blue dress, brushed the dirt off it, and stared at the boy in front of her.
"Because I'm a fairy." Geto rolled his eyes and returned to his morning chores, "Now leave me alone!"
"My fairy aunts don't have horns!" The little girl followed Geto with light footsteps.
"That means we are a different kind of fairy."
"Wow! There's more than one kind of fairy?" the little girl smiled, "I'd like to be a fairy!"
"And why would you like to be a fairy?" asked Geto curiously.
"Because you have magic powers! And some fairies can fly too!" she said, her eyes shining, "I can't do anything interesting or unique, even though my fairy aunts keep telling me I'm a princess, whatever that means, I don't have anything extraordinary about me..."
"If you're kind, you might discover something extraordinary you can do."
"Can I... can I touch your horns?" The little girl asked.
"Um, just once!" Geto leaned down a bit so that the little one could touch his horns.
Geto thought that this little interaction would end right there, and that he would never see this little girl again in the vast forest. He just didn't expect her to come down to the lake with him every morning to talk about anything and everything.
Her presence could fill the boy's loneliness.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ✶
When that little girl told him there was nothing extraordinary about her, Geto was absolutely sure it was a lie. And he seemed to prove it with every passing year. And the passing years never scared Geto, but perhaps his feelings were the only things that could scare him.
Within a few months, the presence of the little human at his side had become commonplace. It was difficult to spend any time apart. They had become inseparable best friends. They were always running around in the forest, playing with each other and with the other creatures that lived there. And from time to time, the girl even helped Geto practice controlling his magic. They shared stories and secrets.
And there was only one secret that he had never shared with her...
Every day, Geto Suguru fell more and more in love with that gentle, delicate human being.
Geto didn't know when he fell in love, for him there was no right moment, he just fell in love. And maybe his feelings were the biggest problem. They couldn't be together, not when they were from different species, or when she was the child his own mother had cursed before she died ⸻ a fact that wasn't hard to discover. The young fairy would have to suppress his feelings and accept that they could never be together in this universe. However, Geto decided to enjoy every minute of his friendship with the human who had stolen his heart until her eighteenth birthday, when she would return to her home ⸻ the human kingdom.
"It's a very nice gift, I'm sure she'll like it," said Dival, the shape-shifter who had been rescued by Geto's mother and had since become the advisor and right hand of the Guardians of the Moors ⸻ and who had also advised Geto in his training.
"It's just a souvenir..." Geto sighed, looking at the amethyst necklace he had made.
"You should tell her your romantic feelings for her..." Dival watched the quick movements of the boy's chest.
"I can't do that, Dival"
"Why not?"
"First of all, she is a princess. Just as I have my responsibilities as the guardian of the Moors, she has hers as the future ruler of the human kingdom. Besides, we're different species. You know how humans treat anything that is different by their standards. Not to mention that we're just friends, that's how she sees me and will always see me..."
"And all this keeps you from being happy in love?" Dival crossed his arms.
"These things aren't as easy as they seem..." Geto sighed softly, "Especially when your feelings aren't reciprocated.
"You should definitely get rid of this idea of unrequited love. She likes you! You can see how she looks at you and how she treats you!"
"It is not like that! She's just kind to me, like she is to all beings. I don't get any special treatment." Geto clutched the amethyst necklace in his hand, afraid of losing it, and left for the young princess' house. "See you soon, Dival!"
"How stubborn he is!" Dival muttered to himself as he watched Geto's figure disappear between the thick-stemmed trees in this part of the forest.
The conversation he'd had with Dival a few minutes ago replayed in his mind: could she possibly reciprocate his romantic feelings?
The answer seemed to be right in front of him…
Geto stopped walking quickly when he noticed the young princess singing a love song while dancing with another human. Perhaps Suguru had to worry about how this tall, white-haired, blue-eyed young man had managed to get past his mother's wall of thorns. But the dreamy smile on the young woman's face made his heart squeeze with pain and fear. The fairy looked away and decided that it would be best to wait until the princess left for her kingdom to deliver her gift ⸻ if only he had the courage.
The young fairy made his way to the lake he used to go to with his mother, which had become one of his meeting places with the young princess, and sat on a rock by the shore, watching the crystal clear water and the aquatic creatures that lived there. Geto didn't know how long he stayed there, pondering feelings that should never have blossomed.
"Sugu!" The princess's voice snapped Geto out of his deep thoughts, and the boy turned back, murmuring her name.
"What are you doing here?" Suguru asked, she should have been on her way to the castle by now.
"You didn't think I would leave without saying goodbye, did you?" The girl smiled and sat down next to the boy.
"I thought you'd be more excited to see where you came from and to see your parents again."
"Yes, I'm excited... But then I remember that I'm leaving all this behind and I get scared..." she sighed.
"You can come back, you know." Geto turned to the princess.
"But the thing is, sometimes I don't know if I really want to go! It's a completely different world, even though it's right next door. And I don't want to leave you..." she looked up at the clear blue sky, it would be a while before it darkened. "Could you come with me?"
"You know what they did to my wings and my mother, I don't think I'll be welcome there." Geto sighed deeply. A few years ago he had told her the fateful story of the day King Stefan invaded the Moors, but he hadn't told her that it was his father who had orchestrated the attack and torn off his wings.
"I know, I just don't want to be away from you."
"Come to me whenever you want, I'll be here waiting for you." Geto gently held the princess' hand and placed the stone from the necklace in her palm. The young woman smiled gently and hugged Suguru until he gasped for breath, drawing a laugh from her.
And Geto, deep in his heart, hoped that she would come back as soon as possible.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ✶
Geto put his hand to his forehead and took a deep breath. He was sitting on a kind of throne made of twisted logs and thorns, the place he usually used for one of his duties as Guardian. The sky was dark and the stars were not visible, and Geto found himself clinging more and more to the mere memories that floated through his mind.
"Geto! Geto!" Dival's desperate voice came from afar in his raven form, flying as fast as he could.
"What now, Dival?" Geto watched as the crow turned into a human in front of him.
"They're invading the Moors!"
"WHAT?!" Suguru quickly got up from his seat, eyes wide with disbelief at the news.
"Your mother's curse somehow came true and King Stefan was furious, he sent troops to attack the Moors, but apparently the wall is keeping them out, but I'm afraid that won't last long."
"The sleep curse has come true..." Geto sighed" Suguru looked at a random spot on the ground, his face blank, "She will sleep forever..."
"Can you wake her?" Dival asked.
"I've tried over the years, when I found out she was the princess my mother cursed, it didn't work."
"Can't you try now that the curse has come true?"
"I could try..." Geto looked at Dival, who seemed to be hiding something, but revealed it by looking for ways to wake the princess. "First we have to get there, then I'll think about waking her."
"You'll have to get past the king's troops first."
"That's the least of the problems, Dival," Geto smiled sideways.
And indeed, the troops of the human army were no match for Geto Suguru's power. With a flick of his finger, the fairy immobilized the soldiers, sending them into a deep sleep until he could reverse the spell. Determined, he made his way to the castle, using his magic to clear the way and avoid any unpleasant and unnecessary conflicts.
"King Stefan..." His voice rang out from the throne room, drawing the king's attention.
"You!" the king said in a voice of disgust.
"Well, I think you know that we have some unresolved issues in the past that make me hold on with all my might so as not to crush that tiny little brain of yours. However, due to the current circumstances, I'd like you to listen to my somewhat irrefutable proposal." Geto's hands closed on the staff that had once belonged to his mother.
"What do you want?"
"Wow, that was pretty quick to convince you..." a sideways smile appeared on Suguru's lips, "If you, noble king, withdraw your troops from the Moor's border of your own free will and never come near my forest again, perhaps I can wake your beloved and sweet daughter."
"Can you wake her?" the king's voice came out choked. In addition to his ego, his daughter's life was at stake.
"Only on my terms!" Suguru lied.
"I promise, I promise to leave your forest alone, just save my daughter!"
"I hope you keep your promise or the consequences will be unimaginable." Geto's voice was firm, "Take me to the princess."
The king, still unsure of his decision, ordered one of his guards to take Geto to where the princess rested in her deep sleep. As the fairy entered the huge, luxurious room, he encountered a figure he didn't like very much. The white-haired boy turned towards Suguru, his hands clenching the wooden staff. Geto's purple eyes met the crystal blue of the stranger he had caught dancing with the princess in the forest not long ago.
"Black hair and a pair of horns? You must be the guardian of the Moors," the blue-eyed boy said.
"Get out of here," Geto said, controlling his tone.
"Wow, the princess said you were kind, I don't see much of that kindness," the boy smiled sideways and crossed his arms in front of him. "I bet your kiss would wake her up..." he muttered to himself, getting ready to leave the room.
"What did you say?" Geto looked at the stranger suspiciously.
"Nothing." The boy smiled. "If you'll excuse me, I have some diplomatic business to attend to with the king."
After the boy left, Geto made his way to the princess's bed, where she slept peacefully. This was not a new sight; they had already fallen asleep by the lake they visited every day ⸻ it seemed like yesterday that Geto was studying the princess's features, memorizing all her curves and smallest details under the starry sky. But unlike the last time they had slept in each other's company, when the first rays of sunlight had awakened him and the princess had cracked a broad smile and wished Suguru a good morning, she wouldn't wake up now, not if the spell wasn't broken. Geto sighed, he had been quietly trying to remove the spell from his mother ever since he had discovered that she was the Princess, Stefan's daughter, but nothing was strong enough to break it. And even now, after years of training and trying to control his power, nothing woke her.
"I'm sorry..." Geto's voice came out lower than usual, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you! It's my fault that I was so weak that none of my attempts to free you from this curse worked. I'm sorry I couldn't give you what you needed and be who you wanted, I'm not worthy of having you by my side, not when the only thing that prevails in my heart is hatred. You're too good for this world, too good for me. I wish I could do anything to have you by my side... just once." With a trembling hand, Geto reached for the icy cheek of the sleeping princess and slowly moved closer, touching his lips lightly to hers. He whispered another apology and turned, ready to flee the castle and fortify the wall around Moors, knowing that the king would not let his lies go unchallenged.
"Sugu...?" The weak, sleepy voice of the princess made the fairy stop walking quickly and turn towards the young woman. "You came to see me?"
"I just wanted to see if you arrived safely."
"I just fell asleep..." She sat down on the bed and smiled, "Couldn't you stay a little longer, I want to show you the castle... please."
"Then let's go..." Geto relented.
"Come on, I want you to see everything here!" She smiled openly and hugged Suguru tightly before wrapping her right arm around the fairy's left and leading him through the castle corridors to the throne room where Stefan was.
When they arrived at the scene, the king looked in surprise at his daughter, who was well and awake, and observed the intertwined arms with disgust.
"Arrest him!" the king shouted to the guards, who attacked Suguru, knocking his staff from his hand and binding him to his arm with steel chains, causing the fairy to scream in agony. The princess looked up in horror and saw Geto being carried away, writhing in pain. She tried to save him from the guards, but was stopped by other guards at the king's behest.
"What are you doing?" she looked at the king with watery eyes, "Let him go, please! He hasn't done anything! Please leave him alone!"
"Don't worry, child, I'm just saving our kingdom from this freak!"
"Freak?!" the young woman looked at her parents in disbelief, "He's a living being, just like us! He's never done anything wrong, no evil! Geto Suguru is the kindest person I know, please let him go!"
"HIS MOTHER CURSED YOU, DO YOU THINK I'LL FORGIVE HIS KIND FOR THAT?!"
"How can you blame him when you are the real culprit?"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?"
"My fairy aunts told me that you stole Geto's wings and killed his mother in an attempt to take over the Moors." Tears streamed down the young woman's face, "How could you dare to do such a cruel thing, he was just a child!"
"WHAT DOES IT MATTER? THEY TOOK YOU AWAY FROM ME!"
"And you took away his mother! Forever!" The princess wiped her tears with her hands and released the guards. "Because of their selfish desires, the Moors are afraid of humans, afraid of losing their families and their freedom, they are not hideous monsters, they have feelings too. And I can't stay in a place and with people who feel entitled to destroy the lives of everything that is different from them!"
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ✶
The princess ran frantically through the castle corridors as she fled from the guards. After arguing with her father, she soon fled the place, determined to find Geto and free him from prison so they could return to Moors. Looking for a place to lose the guards, she entered a dark room and waited for the guards to pass by. When the sound of footsteps quickly faded, she breathed a sigh of relief; now she would have one less problem to worry about when she found Suguru. However, something piqued her interest when she noticed something in the middle of the room. It looked like a cupboard covered with a long, thick, dusty cloth. She approached the object and, without thinking twice, pulled the cloth down, revealing what it was.
The huge glass box allowed her to see inside, and the young woman couldn't hide her surprise when she realized that she was standing in front of Suguru's wings, which had been stolen by her father.
‘They are beautiful...' the young woman thought, staring in wonder at the pair of wings in front of her. However, she quickly snapped out of her trance when she heard footsteps in the hallway. She took a deep breath, picked up the wings, wrapped them in the cloth, and carefully ran to the catacombs where the cells were.
Noticing that no one was in the catacombs, the princess left her wings in a hidden corner and, on tiptoe, picked up the key hanging on the wall near the exit and went to the cell where Geto was.
"Sugu...?" She whispered, searching the darkness for the fairy. When she heard the boy call her name, she let out a relieved sigh and opened the cell, approaching the fairy in the corner, who was writhing in pain, her wrists aching from the handcuffs. Gently, the princess removed the handcuffs and asked him to wait for her while she fetched something. She walked quickly, picking up Geto's wings where she had left them, but the wings seemed to move on their own with each step she took as she approached him. When the wings slipped from her hands and met their true owner, the princess was even more amazed to see Geto with his majestic wings.
"As much as I'd like to admire you longer, I'm afraid we have to leave as soon as possible before they come looking for me here!"
"Why are we running away?"
"I may have had a fight with my father..."
"You did what?" Geto asked incredulously.
"I had a fight with my father after you were taken away, I can't let my father treat you like that."
"You shouldn't have fought with him... not for me. You just came back home, you found your family again..."
"Why don't you let me save you just this once?" the young woman took Geto's hands in her own, "When I arrived here, I must admit I was excited by the idea of a new world, new places to explore and new people to meet, but at no time did I feel like I belonged here, not like I did in Moors. So please, take me home with you..."
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Geto asked, trying to hide his happiness at what he had just heard from the princess.
"I am absolutely sure."
"Then let's go home!"
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ✶
The princess clung to Geto as tightly as she could while the fairy flew through the sky as if there was no tomorrow. Over the years, Suguru had resigned himself to never experiencing that feeling of freedom again, but apparently he was wrong. Having his wings again seemed like a dream, and to his happiness, it was a dream come true.
When they arrived in Moors, the princess asked Dival to deliver a letter to the king, saying that she had run away and would return to the forest and live there, where she had always felt at home, but that she could occasionally visit the kingdom and spend time with her biological family if they wanted her around.
"Are you going to fly around all night?" The princess asked with a smile as she watched Geto approach her.
"Maybe, it feels too good to stop."
"Your wings... They are beautiful... may I touch them?"
With a feeling of déjà vu, Geto approached the princess and allowed her to gently run her hand over the black feathers of his wings.
"Thank you... for saving me and for loving me as much as I love you."
"Wha... what?"
"I like you, Suguru. I like you so much that sometimes I feel like my heart will explode if I stay by your side for too long... you're my everything. That's why I want to be selfish and have you by my side until the end of this world."
"Well, I think I'll be more than happy to stay by your side until you don't want me anymore." Geto approached the princess, placing one of his hands on her waist, pulling her closer to his body, while the other rested on her cheek, his thumb making a light circular caress of her skin. Slowly, Suguru brought his lips to hers and gave her a soft kiss, which was immediately returned by the princess. Even though he had dreamed of this moment for a long time, Geto didn't rush into the kiss, but enjoyed and savored every moment that their lips were together, as if they had all the time in the world.
"I love you more than you can imagine..." When they broke apart for lack of air, Geto rested his forehead on hers and smiled openly, it all seemed like a dream and if it turned out to be a dream, he didn't want to wake up ever again. The fairy's hands closed around the young woman's waist and he hugged her tightly, as if she could disappear from his arms at any moment.
"But I love you more." The princess said as she rested her cheek on Suguru's chest and listened to his heartbeat, which was slowing down.
"That's impossible, darling!" Geto smiled openly and kissed the princess's forehead, "But I'll let you believe it is."
Sugar daddy!Toji…
…who met you in a dating app, you were fresh out of college with three million yen in debt and just enough money in your back account to afford three months rent of an apartment studio in a dangerous neighborhood
…who, like any sugar, offered to aid your financial problems in exchange for one simple thing—make him feel less lonely.
…who insists on date night every other day, however, instead of going to fancy restaurants with expensive wine and food with names you couldn’t pronounce, takes you to amusement parks and fairs, star gazing on the beach, and car rides that end up with both of you trying ice creams combinations while talking about how listening to non-Taylor’s Version songs should be considered a crime and how Stefan Salvatore deserved better.
…who gives you everything your little heart desires. That new dress at the mall? You go it, three pairs of shoes costing twenty thousand yen each? They’re all yours. Want to paint his nails black? Ehh… that’ll take a little more convincing.
…who finally invites you over to his house after a two months of seeing each other. You shaved, did skincare, and put on your sexiest lingerie under a mid-thigh length skirt and a cute top. You knocked on the front door, he opened it, led you to his living room, and…. introduced you to Yasu, his American brown Akita who doesn’t like strangers. It ended up being a movie night, not a sexy night.
An Oath: A Klonnie Short
She woke, as he drew her closer to him. She burrowed into him, her nose pressed against his neck, inhaling deeply, the familiar sweet scent of spice rum hitting her. Her favorite soap.
He kisses her forehead. “Good night?”
Bonnie chuckled.
Even though his tone was conversational,as though they were talking about the weather —which they had more than once usually when he wanted to take her for a getaway—she knew it was forced just by connecting to the bond.
“It went well. Elena and Stefan seem… better. Caroline came back toned legs that could rival Wonder Womans.” She said.
At his silence she looked up, meeting his gaze.
A confused look marring his face.
“I’m sorry, Wonder Woman?”
“From the comics. She’s an amazon warrior. Super toned and badass.”
He nodded, slowly as if trying to make sure he was understanding the words coming out of her mouth.
“Love. I gather you know I’m not well versed in… comics.”
Bonnie rolled her eyes, a smile stretching on her lips and deposits her head in the rook of his neck. Lips brushing his skin, she said, “you’re lucky, I find you cute.”
“That I am.” Pressing her deeper into him. And like always, they’re able to rid the tension just by being near each other. In the beginning, she couldn’t possibly picture Klaus being a person she could count on, let alone someone who could understand her.
Yet, it’s the safety of his arms that she craved for all night, to completely surround and let him take care of her, protect her.
“They’ll hate me.” She whispers, her throat tightening.
Klaus rubbed her back, feeling the tremors that ran through her. “It doesn’t have to be now. We’ll wait.”
She shook her head. “That’s just it. I don’t want to.”
“What do you want?” He asked.
“You.” Through the bond, she felt a warmth surrounding her. It left her speechless the first time she felt it.
(“What is that?” She gasped, rubbing her chest, the warmth migrating there before spreading throughout her body.
He licked his lips. “Us.” Bringing his finger to her face he tucked a curl behind her ear. “It’s our bond activating, it’ll happen when we tap into it.”
Bonnie searched his face, it was inches away from her own. He was completely open to her, It was terrifying. How badly she liked him like this, close and unbidden. Heart beating a tattoo against her ribcage, she closed the distance, and pressed her lips against his. It started sweet— albeit hesitant — just lips connecting, before changing into something more passionate. He sighed into her, cupping her face, his thumbs tracing her skin, setting a shiver down her spice. She felt her entire body melt into his.
Bonnie gripped onto his shirt, a dizziness clouding her, she allowed herself to surrender to him.)
“And what else?” He said, his voice slashing through the memory.
She whispered. “To hold your hand in public.” She slipped her fingers into his. “To kiss you anywhere, everywhere.” She kissed his neck, a small breath escaping him. “To not hide our love.” She kissed his throat.
She pulled back and met his gaze, her breathing stopping short as she took him in. Completely bare, his eyes met hers and saw the greatest look of love she had ever seen. It swam through the bond, her heart beating against his chest.
He leaned down until their foreheads met. “We’ll have that. For the rest of our life.” It was a promise, an oath.
Awareness didn’t come to you so much as it ebbed and flowed by.
Brief snippets of footsteps far away. The distant chatter of men. Wood groaning with the faintest sensation of movement.
At some point, you felt something heavy and furry slip into your arms, a deep rumbling purr easing you back to sleep. You were warm and comfortable. No one was trying to wake you before you were ready. All your aches and pains were gone. And your head was stuffed with cotton that soaked up any thought that crossed your mind.
You think someone checked on you at one point. A warm calloused hand brushing your face before your unexpected bed partner gave a sweet mewl of complaint and shoved their furry face over your head. Their purr rumbling directly over your eyes as your nose scrunched up at the disturbance. They chuckled warmly.
“How did you even get in here, ‘Tatsu?” he whispered, pulling the blanket up your shoulder. “I know Thatch didn’t brew tea that strong… man, the marines must have been running you ragged, sweetie. But you can sleep in here as long as you need. Promise… It’s rough sometimes but… we really will take care of you, you know? Just… give us a chance to prove it?” he stroked your hair before retreating.
Another metallic click of a lock.
You fell back asleep.
Your eyes opened up reluctantly, your body numb to all but the most persistent commands. Fumbling and blearily petting the large… bob cat? Laying next to you with the most content mewls? Utterly adorable. Almost adorable enough to distract you from how difficult it was to move.
You must have slept in too long. And too hard at that. You flopped over and closed your eyes for a little bit longer, giving your body time to work properly.
Come to think of it, why hadn’t you been woken up before now? Williams was ever so eager to hit the town and patrol. And if not him, then many others would have woken you up for one reason or another. A report to make. Training to do. Cleaning. Wrangling in Williams before he burns someone’s house down. Any number of reasons, really. But no one… did?
And who’s cat were you cuddling anyway? No complaints here but… who the hell had such a massive cat?
You reached out, brushing your hand over the sheets as, quite suddenly, the sensation of fabric constricting your wrist registered. You fumbled, smacking your hands together as you blindly felt for the offending object. It was kind of soft, the excess trailing onto the bed from where it was secured. That wasn’t part of your uniform…
Oh.
Wait, no it was! It was part of your uniform!
It hit you suddenly. Fire Fist in the town. Stefan—the criminally cute criminal dog—and running afoul of The Phoenix. Being kidnapped and stripped of your uniform to meet Whitebeard. Who approved of you for some reason.
Sensations were now properly registering as you slowly sat up. No longer sensory-blind, you looked around the dark room. No light to be seen, it was only the crack under the doorway that gave you anything to go by.
Right. The drugged tea… you were going to be more careful of anything Twin-Blade served you from now on. Why bother drugging you? Where would you go in the middle of the ocean from, presumably, the bowels of the ship?
The big cat mewled sweetly, shoving their wet nose into your neck and licked plaintively. You shuddered with a chuckle, reaching up with a much more cooperative limb to rub their ear. It went over fantastically well, as you expected.
Now, you just need to figure out where your glasses went and what the hell was going on.
--*--
“C’mon, Marco, please let me have the key~?” Thatch cried out, throwing himself onto Marco’s side as he bat his eyes. Marco gave a slight, annoyed sigh.
“No, yoi. You’re not going to wake them up.” Marco stated firmly while he ate lunch.
“But they’ve been asleep for so long! Without eating!” Thatch pleaded, laying his front on the table.
“And who’s fault is that?” Marco pondered distantly, chewing a well-seasoned piece of sea king meat. Across the room Oyaji chuckled at Thatch’s dramatics and Marco’s predicament. Ace was just busy shoving food down into his bottomless pit of a stomach like he never heard of the word ‘table manners’. And nothing anyone ever did has managed to change that since he had joined the crew.
“I wanna meet them! Properly!” Thatch wept as though this situation wasn’t his own damn fault.
“No.” Marco finished his meal and stood up to go check himself. Hopefully, they’ll have woken up on their own by now. He had ducked his head in to check on you before eating and you were still sound asleep. Kotatsu somehow having snuck in. If he hadn’t been around the big cat for about two years now, he wouldn’t have believed Ace that he didn’t let Kotatsu in. Guess it wasn’t just Stefan that loved you already, the dog having kept vigil for nearly two hours at your door until Oyaji took him to bed himself.
Thatch jolted up, hopeful as could be, until Marco shot him a look and wilted. Back to mumbling forlorn complaints about ‘no longer being loved as he should be’ or something.
“… I guess if they’re awake now they’ll need to eat something.” Marco observed as he slowly walked away, knowing full well he was getting Thatch’s hopes up. “Not from you though. I doubt they’ll forget about the tea anytime soon.” Marco shot a look back to find Thatch as little more than a puddle of tears.
Good.
He deserved it.
Marco casually made his way from the mess hall to where your room was situated.
It was… a bit of a spur of the moment idea. Taking you.
Really, he was content to watch over the loading of supplies by the rest of the crew while Ace got out his energy on the town. Then he got the call that Stefan had decided to board the Moby Junior ship—as well as the confirmation that he’d slipped out after Ace. Which meant he needed to case the island to figure out where the dumb dog went. Really, Stefan should have known better. Why he decided to explore now of all times, Marco wasn’t sure. But he had to bring him back anyway.
Which lead to you.
A marine who decided their time was better spent giving a goofy dog water than helping your own comrade fight Ace. Lavishing the dog with attention, really. And after seeing your comrade’s attitude he couldn’t really blame you. The idea of any of his own brothers acting like that made his eyes narrow with fury. Cocky and arrogant with no regard for the people around him, way worse than Ace during his assassin days—at least Ace ensured his antics only affected Oyaji. Then again, Ace was clearly hurting and deeply depressed.
That guy—Marco didn’t bother remembering his name, why should he?—was just an asshole.
And the punch was just unnecessary.
Even at that moment, Marco didn’t intend to… surprise recruit you. Just fix your broken nose and maybe offer some advice. At least you had more sense than most marines he’d met. You didn’t even try to fight him or get involved with Ace’s fight, aware of your own limits. The amount of marines that threw themselves at Marco hoping to somehow defeat him, when they couldn’t even beat Stefan, was just sad.
Then you looked up at him with teary eyes, glasses on the ground with a cracked lens, and blood all over your hands. Pupils unfocused and unsteady. You didn’t even look surprised that your comrade had broken your nose for trying to save his sorry hide. Just surprised that anyone was willing to help you. And even then, Marco just felt bad for you. You held promise and it was just being wasted on ungrateful assholes. You were going to be one of those marines that actually meant something to people, he could already tell.
Then he touched you and the world exploded in blue fire. His devil fruit sang. Like on flights at dawn when seagulls brave enough to do so decided to join him. Peace and a strange mix of security and strength washed over him like Oyaji’s good booze. He felt your injury like it was his own as it was washed away in an instant. All of them were. Little aches and pains from being overworked and underappreciated. In fact, the sensation was so much so that it took him longer than it should have to realize he needed to reign it in before he fully transformed. And through it all was your wide-eyed expression of surprise, red blood washed in golden light.
Incredible intrigue took over his thoughts. He wanted that again. More of it. Wanted to selfishly hoard the feeling of kinship he had for those precious few seconds. Like the height of a party with his family on a forgotten beach somewhere with he world far away and anything worth caring about in arms reach. That was when he decided to take you.
You tried to look around him but he wouldn’t have it. Forced you—gently, you’re family now—to look at him as he asked you who you were. What all of this was.
“M-My devil fruit! It—uhm—affects other devil fruits? Makes… makes them stronger around me. O-Or just… touching.” You stuttered out as hot fury settled in his chest.
Very few devil fruits directly affect other fruits without them being… adversaries. Ice and fire fruits most famously tend to…conflict even under the best circumstances. To have a devil fruit that specifically empowers other devil fruits was extraordinary. And out of what Marco assumed was sheer stupidity and arrogance, you weren’t safely kept under lock and key by an admiral. At minimum. Perhaps a secretary for Sengoku since you’re clearly too inexperienced at combat to be a front-line fighter, as well as at a disadvantage with your fruit. Or an apprentice for someone of note in literally any of the blues.
Not with some laughably weak ensign. Any of the supernovas or one of Big Mom’s many children could have easily stumbled across you by now. And just—plucked—you right up. And one of the marine’s best upcoming resources would be gone in an instant. You weren’t even being treated like the promising recruit you were, either. Where was your commanding officer? Fellow recruits? Someone—anyone—to encourage comradery and loyalty to your fellow marines?
What an absolutely criminal waste.
Marco came to a stop in front of your door, fishing out the key from his pocket.
You’d do far better here than with any of them. He wasn’t sure why you were a marine to start with but he’d make sure you found support here that you certainly weren’t getting there. You’ll find a place where you belong—with them—soon enough.
He’d make sure of it.
Marco opened the door and was pleasantly surprised to find you sitting up, though struggling under Kotatsu’s hefty weight, and squinting around the room for your glasses. He chuckled, flicking on the light and closing the door, plucking your cracked glasses.
He slid them onto your face, tapping your nose gently even though the brief contact teased his devil fruit immensely.
“Afternoon, blue bird.” Marco grinned. “You slept for a long time. How are you feeling?” He asked, taking a seat on the bed next to you.
You looked at him nervously and a little weirded out. Marco knew that you’d adjust eventually, so he found amusement in your expression instead.
“Uh… Alright. How long was I out?” You asked softly, leaning back as Kotatsu oozed onto your lap for scritches. Without even thinking about it, you obliged, relaxing against the big cat that you definitely didn’t know before waking up.
“Well, it’s actually been well over a day. Guess you must have really needed the rest.” Marco observed, noting that you looked much livelier than before. “But you’re probably really hungry now, aren’t you? C’mon, I’ll show you where to get food.”
Your nose scrunched up in confusion.
“Get food? Aren’t I… being locked in this room?” You asked. Which, yes, that’s part of the plan. Mostly for when you go to sleep or if they run into trouble before you integrate properly. It’ll hopefully cut down on the nonsense. Like attempts to contact the marines or escape on your own.
Marco chuckled, indulging himself a little as he cupped your cheek, fire barely flickering over his knuckle as you gawked at him.
“Well, not all the time, no. Don’t worry, we’ll all keep an eye out for you while you adjust.” You looked like you ate something sour and Marco couldn’t help but laugh, fully aware of your current feelings on the matter. “It’s not quite what you expected but you’ll love it here, really. Just… give it a chance.”
You grimaced again, looking away nervously.
“And if I still want to be a marine?” You asked suspiciously.
Marco refrained from laughing as something hot and distinctly feral sneered. Gently, his brushed his hand back a little more and tilted your face to him firmly. Pressing his forehead to yours as he gave you an indulgent but understanding look. He wanted you to understand that you were here to stay.
You were lucky that he hadn’t made you room with him for the time being to make sure of it. But if you did somehow managed to slip away from the ship well…
He’d rip apart whatever ship you were sailing on and keep you in his talons until you gave up on being anywhere else.
“You won’t.” Marco smiled, dangerously close to transforming and indulging his phoenix form in the kinship you exuded.
But you were hungry and already nervous enough as it was. Wide eyes clearly fearful for his next action. You just didn’t understand yet. Naïve and so optimistic you became a marine, of course you didn’t get it yet. He wasn’t going to hurt you. You were safe here, even from your own misconceptions. He’d make sure of it in due time.
But first, you had to trust him.
Reluctantly, Marco let go and backed off, having made his point.
This wasn’t like with Ace, who just needed to be shown that there were people willing to love him right where he was. Angry and bitter at the world that spat at him.
You needed to see that you were safe here. That anything you could ever need was readily available in this ship, with this crew. Your skills, your sweet attitude, your everything was wasted as a marine. It would simply never be appreciated in their ranks like it should be. But here was an exception. His family and him would be the exception.
And you’d stay right where you were until you learned that. If you proved to struggle with this simple concept because of your naivety? Well, the door had a perfectly functional lock. A week or two of being handled personally would do the trick just fine. You did look quite cute after drinking Thatch’s special ‘welcoming’ tea, dizzy and stumbling as their words passed over your head. Maybe spending that time being reminded how confusing and overwhelming the world really is would speed things up. It certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Pain would just make you afraid of him. Of them. Hurting you to prove a point is what those marines would do. No. That wouldn’t do at all and isn’t how they ever did things if they could help it.
You’ll love them. Wouldn’t imagine a world without them.
And Marco couldn’t wait to see it happen.
Garp relaxed in his chair, eating rice crackers as Sengoku received the report grimly. Garp winced as the receiver was slammed down.
After a moment of—relative—silence, Garp spoke up.
“…Welp, there goes that plan.” Sengoku glared at him. “What?! Don’t look at me like that, it wasn’t my idea to station them all the way out there!”
After a moment, Sengoku relaxed, sighing with his whole body as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“I know it’s just… the trial period was almost over and we could have moved them where they were supposed to be from the start.” Sengoku hissed.
“Well, I know why we didn’t do it from the start—that devil fruit is weird—but you know I would have trained them myself if you asked. Sweet kid. Really more of an animal person though, eheh~!” Garp cackled. “Promising recruit too.”
Sengoku huffed, leaning back in his chair with a groan.
“… We’re going to have to tell him, you know.” Sengoku groaned louder, sinking into his seat at Garp’s words. “He’s going to be pissed though… Welp! I guess that’s why you’re the Fleet Admiral.” Garp grinned, swiftly running out of the office with an extra pack of rice crackers.
“Y-YOU! GET BACK HERE, YOU COWARD!”
Hell no. Senny could deliver that news himself.
Noxee called them over. She has something to show them. Baby Photos of Jack. Jack: "What? No!" Saiwa: "Really?"
Tumblr media
Noxee: "Look how cute you were!"
Tumblr media
Noxee: "Stefan took them when Greg brought you to him. And sent them to us. You weren't used to other beings because they kept you in this cage and only approached you to give you these injections... Look at your little fist! You tried to attack everyone! Stefan was having a hard time with you in the beginning ^^'" ( These experiences in the Lab explain a lot of Jack's mental problems. His paranoia and trust issues. And his fear of being locked up. Even before he got kidnapped.)
Tumblr media
Noxee: "And here you are with your beloved pizza! Greg had to bake two of them. You were so hungry because the Growth Medication still affected you."
Tumblr media
Saiwa: "Omg Jack you were the cutest thing!" Jack: "What are you doing?" Saiwa: "Photograph them. For my new background ;) " Jack: "What? No!"
Tumblr media
Noxee: "Look how gorgeous Greg looks! And he's still so handsome!"
Tumblr media
Noxee: "I can't wait to meet him tonite! We're gonna make it sizzle in that cabin!" Jack: "Ugh."
Tumblr media
If you want them to know there is steak for dinner, you got to let them *hear* it sizzle!
Noxee: "Oh and there you had to say good bye already... But before you tried to strangle Greg! Hahaha! Oh it's so sad it had to be like this. But your Uncle Stefan made it up to you, did he?" Jack: "I'm glad I grew up with Stefan and not..." Saiwa: "Jack! Keep your snout shut for once. Noxee, tell Greg to come back. Jack will be fine." Jack: "What? No!" Noxee: "I will. Jack, you need him."
Damon after being put in charge of Caroline and Elena's little siblings because they're in college:
Stefan: Where's Y/n and Jeremy?
Damon: They went out
Stefan: They're grounded!
Damon: ...Are they not allowed out when they're grounded?
The Vampire Diaries opinions people hate me for:
Forwood is actually a good ship and I wish it didn't have to go down like that, at the expense of Caroline's character.
I ship Klaroline; but Klaus was toxic. I could only ever see this ship becoming endgame if Klaus redeemed himself first.
Caroline had chemistry with everyone except Stefan.
Bamon had potential (and it was literally in the books). If they had come up with a "I had my humanity off" plotline it would have made the ship work🤷🏻‍♀️
Bonezo is a good ship and is clearly less toxic than Bamon; but it only happened to please racist dullena fans that complained about Bamon's romantic implications(even if it happened in the books)
Caroline, Katherine, Bonnie, & Stefan are the most interesting characters of TVD
Jeremy & Anna were cute IDK🤷🏻‍♀️
Matt did not deserve the hate. His feelings were valid. All his friends were killers and he was an abandoned, heartbroken boy, whose mom was a drunk and pedophile, and his only sister & family was killed by the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend who he loved alot, just cause he decided he was bored. He remained loyal & brave to his friends and they didn't account for their murders and killings & stopped caring for the innocent.
Alaric was not a bad father and teacher. Even if he had his slip-ups he was actually an interesting & good character.
Damon is way too defended In this fandom. People should like the character and not defend the wrongs?! Just how many women has he compelled to sleep with him and to let him drink their blood? And what about what he did to Aaron whitmore? He slaughtered entire families of Innocents even while dating Elena. So all that "sHe mAkEs hiM bEtTeR" crap, is not valid. You can like Ian's acting and the smugness of his character, & like the character for those reasons, without defending the terrible acts of the character.
Delena was a horrible ship. The only reason it's popular is due to the shallow fact that people see Ian as more handsome than Paul. The ship only has good chemistry and looks. Beyond that, there is nothing.
Stefan is still the better man. (Fried humanity/off humanity Stefan don't count just as it goes for all the other vampires) Gaslighting writing through the other characters won't change that(Nice try, Julie P)🤷🏻‍♀️
Alaric and Jo were really cute together. I don't care. They made epic twins together.
Elena is overloved; but overhated at the same time. It's annoying. Just love the kind human girl that she used to be and hate the vicious, selfish girl she became, without hating her for breathing. That simple.
Klelijah(Katherine x Elijah) is not a good ship. Katherine loved stefan. She was only using Elijah to survive, and back then she only pitied him. Elijah also only was with her because of what he did to Tatia
Katherine did deserve better though, even if she did bad things. Making her the biggest/& ultimate devil and pretending there wasn't any good in her was incredibly misogynistic. Like Damon & Klaus did worse things and they get happy lives and good character ends? Like No! Horrible! Katherine's core was a scared little girl who wanted to live a normal human life while still being powerful and beautiful. She was chased for 500 years, had to see her entire family slaughtered, lost a baby because of misogynistic expectations, found her again, just to see her last family die again. Did she do horrible things? Yes; all to survive. But she also saved Jeremy, Damon, Stefan, encouraged Elena to be honest about what she felt for Damon even when she didn't have to.
Caroline did annoying things; but overall she was an interesting character. And she was way too smart and strong as a vampire. I loved seeing it.
Bonnie deserved so much more than the show gave her. I hope she gets her own show one day. A show about witches would be pretty lit.
Rebecca could have tried harder to be kinder and less evil. I get she had centuries of habits she needed to break but still. (Elena stabbing her in the back was still shit though)
Klaus was evil to his default and was an abuser to his family. I'm glad he changed/died for hope; but still I would have been nice if there were other factors to this action.
They shouldn't have thrown away the good of Elijah Mikalson. He didn't deserve that. The way they also tried to pull a Stefan on him.
Haylijah was a cute ship🤷🏻‍♀️
Esther wasn't wrong about her children being evil as vampires. And what she wanted to do with them was have them live as humans.
What the originals did to Marcel was fucked up
What the originals did to Davina was cruel
I wish we could have seen more of the witch that played "the hollow".
Glamorizing Hope's evil side is not "a flex". Again, like the character & actor art; but not the vicious actions.
Hosie should have been canon
That random new original sister was so unnecessary.
Kolvina is the most interesting ship of the entire TVDverse I wish there was more of them
All TVD ships were good I just find: Steroline, Delena, & Klamille to be cringe. Steroline only happened to compensate Forwood/& Klaroline and justify Delena. And Delena only happened because of looks and the love story was trash. Klamille was also a compensation ship to Klaroline so yeah, cringe.
TVD writing, lore, acting, cinematography,. directing is all a 10. The only thing that is trash is the ending and all the romantic entanglement the show had.
Warning: This isn't to start an agree to disagree party. This post is just so that those that agree with me can high-five with me. If you disagree, don't even bother commenting on this post. Everything is a matter of perception & perspective. I'm just sharing mine, while venting. By jumping on this post to fight with me you are immediately self-labeling yourself as entitled. Everyone has their own opinions bestie so don't even.
Today on my adventures of replaying Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
"Oh ok I can see why people ship Ranulf/Ike he tries to make Ike laugh and it's very cute. Ranulf is a very cute lil guy."
I made him Ike's B-Rank, Ike's got two hands. (Soren being his A-Rank already).
I also got Stefan and Soren's B Rank. Soren, for only having two relationships, you are very uncomfortable with this guy. I do like how even if you got the A-Rank for him, he still goes back to Ike. Like sir, goodbye. (I like Stefan, he's honestly just a weirder, haterader version of Soren.)
Nothing is more disappointing than clicking on a fic for your OTP and it turns out to have what I call OC Stand-In Syndrome, wherein Character A and Character B have had their backgrounds, personalities and motivations changed alongside plopping them in an AU setting to the point where their names are just about the only thing tying them to who they were originally.
To use an example from a fandom I am not in now but saw a lot of this in when I was, take literally any MCU ship. Stony, but Tony and Steve are in the 1950s and Tony is a shy emotionally damaged Omega uwu and Steve is just a nice guy but not the badass who canonically would fight you for more or less any injustice you committed in front of him. Were their names changed to Antonio and Stefan, you would not recognize that they were supposed to be Tony Stark and Steve Rogers at all. Or it's Stucky, but it's a modern day AU and Bucky is a banker who falls for barista Steve and neither have any personality traits in common with their original namesakes outside of being I guess nice and arguably friendly with each other, though of course in addition to their childhood friendship being erased, so has their poverty, plopping them both into comfortable middle class backgrounds often with supportive living families, making them unrecognizable as far as origins go. Clintasha but Clint is a CEO of a company and Nat is a secretary with no dark backstory and they've never met until one day their soul marks activate and they go on a series of dates where they reveal personalities, backstories, interests and desires that do not match canon Clint and Nat to the point where you don't know why these two were chosen as the named characters.
If you want to write original fiction, by all means, go for it. Write your 1950's A/B/O M/M romance with an emotionally broken, shy uwu boy and his skinny sexy chivalrous Alpha. Write that coffee shop M/M middle-class-without-the-uncertainty thing. Write your busy workaholic cutesy secretary who fate has wed to a CEO and aaaah she's so nervous aaah why is this so awkward. Those are things with audiences who will love them and were they not presented to me with the names of other characters on them, I might like them, too.
But when I go looking for A/B fic and I just find a fic with a character borrowing Character A's name and they're into a character borrowing Character B's name, my thought isn't, "Wow, what a great A/B fic!" it's "you must've accidentally used find-and-replace to put in the wrong names on your OCs".
I got out of Reylo for exactly this reason. I like Reylo. I don't like the latest Sad Girl OC with a different backstory and either much more wallflower or viciously snide personality (depending on what the author thinks is cute/cool) and Sad Boy OC who lacks the rage issues, familial issues and ongoing flaws that make Kylo interesting.
And now it's creeping into my latest fandom and I'm just so tired. Please, I just want to read fic of two characters, not two of your OCs who you haven't named yet.
--
They probably find their portrayal IC, but yes, this often irritates me too.
Sky:
Tumblr media
"You make a cute Woody, Blue eyes." Y/N grinned as Sky fixed his cowboy hat and smiles.
"And you make a good Buzz root beer?"
Y/N laughed.
Stefan:
Tumblr media
"I can't believe I let you convince me to dress up as Wolverine." Stefan said, looking into the mirror in his room.
Y/N smiled. "Hey, it's not my fault your hero hair makes you look so much like him. Sexy, and dangerous."
Stefan smiled. "That just earned you a kiss, Gambit."
Peter Parker:
Tumblr media
"Y/N, you're the cutest Pikachu I've ever seen." Peter smiled sweetly and giggled as Y/N ran around the apartment saying 'pika, pika.'
Archie:
Tumblr media
"You look good, Arch. Being Freddy agrees with you."
"And you being Jason with that hockey mask, makes you even sexier." Archie smiles.
Ikaris:
Tumblr media
"Y/N, I feel ridiculous." Ikaris said.
"Oh, come on, Iceberg. You make a handsome Fairly Odd Parent."
"Okay, but why did I have to be the pink one?"
