"Why did you choose to join the Scouts, anyway?" it was a question that has been bugging Stiles for awhile now, ever since that night.
"I mean, don't get me wrong-" he began before Derek could get any words out, "- but you never made any indication that you would join Scouts. It doesn't make sense, you're in the top ten. The Big Ten. You know, the elite ones who get the secret third option?? Why not join Lydia and finally live an easy life? If I were you- like, with your life story and everything not just your body and flexibility which, by the way, should be illegal- I would have chosen that. Give myself a break, you know?"
It wasn't until then that Derek regarded Stiles with his attention. There was something in his eyes, an intensity that Stiles would sometimes catch glimpses of any now and then but it has never been pushed so forward into his hands. He could barely breathe while looking into them, getting lost in the forest that was hiding inside Derek Hale's eyes.
"Everyone I care about is going there." the answer came so nonchalant from him, like the confession wasn't life changing. But Stiles found his answer not in his friend's words, but while finding his way out of Derek's eyes.
"Because you're going" it went unsaid, locked deep inside the greens and the browns. In the way the eyes softened for a moment when he said 'care' and tried to break contact on 'going there' before thinking better of it. In the little frown while saying 'everyone', like that wasn't the right word but he didn't- or couldn't?- say anything else.
And Stiles? Didn't know what to do with that confession. With the knowledge that Derek gave up everything just to stay stuck with skinny, defendles, most likely to end up Titan food during his very first expedition outside the walls, Stiles.
Because Stiles was ready to die just for an eclipse of freedom, but was he ready to take Derek with him?

SPOILERS FOR ST5 FILMING THIS WEEK+ A THEORY
Okay, I’m going to try and break down all the filming leaks we got this week and put them together into a theory.
In case you don’t know yet, ST’s production has moved back to Stone Mountain, GA this week. This is a woodsy area that’s been used before in the show to film all the UD forest scenes as well as just the regular forest scenes in the show.
On Monday of this week, someone who lives close to the area came upon a set. And it was the Castle Byers pictures we got. I’ll add them here too.
Tumblr media
Some observations. To me this version of castle Byers doesn’t look like the original one we first saw. That one was much fuller and looked more stable. It also doesn’t look like the version Will left behind after destroying it in S3. We know the UD is stuck on the time Will was there, so imo the version of castle Byers we are seeing here is the one that was damaged by the demogorgon when it grabbed Will, back in S1.
Based on this pic and a little video of the set, we all speculated they could be filming something related to Will, perhaps even a flashback. Here’s where it gets interesting.
I was looking at the castingtaylormade insta page (they post all the casting for extras and photo doubles needed for the show) and I came across this.
Tumblr media
Production was looking for a minor photo double and “adult” one to work on the 20th (aka Tuesday of this week) as well as some other dates in February and March.
Now, we know they were filming at the castle Byers set the same day that this minor photo double was needed. I don’t think I need to spell it out here. They were looking for a child, so younger Will scenes are basically a guarantee to have been filmed this week. As for the adult photo double filming the same date, well there’s quite a few options. If it’s a little Will flashback/vision we’re gonna see, perhaps the adult photo double is gonna be older Will himself. Maybe we’ll get current Will having visions of his younger self and his time in the UD, and we’ll see both versions of him. Let’s not forget he was able to shift to the UD in S2 without physically being there.
Another option for the adult photo double could be Vecna. Will and Vecna are bound to share scenes this season, so perhaps we’ll see whether Vecna was involved from the get go in Will’s disappearance.
Now it gets even more interesting, because today we got new pics of the “UD” set from this week. There’s a lot of fog, and a very poignant blue and red lighting mix.
We know the UD usually has a blue tint, but there’s been instances where it has looked red, especially in S4. However, the most red we’ve ever seen in the UD was when Will was having his S2 visions of the MF, remember how he would appear in a cloud of hellish red and lights would flash? Yeah. Another big use of red in this show has been for visions, like Will’s UD ones but also El in Billy’s mind in S3. And ofc more notably Max’s Vecna vision in S4.
I want to specifically focus on one picture.
Tumblr media
As you can see, there appears to be a figure walking along the tree path, with perhaps a taller figure on the left but that is hard to tell because it could just be part of the tree. Stranger Things Spoilers was the account that got these set photos and look at the comment they just liked on Insta.
Tumblr media
I think it’s safe to say they’re hinting that the figure walking is Will.
Which basically ties this whole week of filming together and seems to be pointing at the fact that Will is gonna be exploring his UD connection and that’s a major component of this season (duh).
I personally think we’re gonna see Will have visions of his time there as a child, but also he will be able to go there mentally like he did in S2, perhaps this time being taunted and brainwashed by Vecna. “He spies back”.
So there you go folks, it seems like our beloved Will Byers is gonna be greatly suffering from supernatural horrors beyond our comprehension, once again.
I wonder what will be able to pull him back from all this mental deterioration he’s surely gonna face again.
Could it be the power of family love and perhaps…gay love?
The Duffers did say to rewatch S2 🤷‍♀️

07. You're an idiot you know that?
Authors Note: Ok, so this was an idea from SandoraMidoriya, and I think it's a cool idea, and it inspired me to write this, so thank you!☺
---------------------------
Y/n's P.O.V
It's been a couple months since Jason started to go out with us, and I really could not be prouder of my two little birds really I couldn't, and I love them more than anything in the world. Other than Bruce, obviously.
But on days like these.
Days like these that I truly want to strangle them and question my choices in life.
*Sigh*
Let me explain.
Ok, so us being members of the league means that our boys have met the children of the other leaguers. Now, for some reason Dick has formed a brotherly bond with the children/sidekicks/prodegés of Flash, aka Barry Allen, and Green Arrow, aka Oliver Queen
One Walace Rudolph West and one Roy William Harper.
Now I love these boys as my own, I do, but when the three are together, it usually ends in some kind of disaster.
And Thus,
we get to my current situation. The three of them figured that it was a good idea for Dick to teach the gingers how to do some tricks.
What's the problem with that, you may ask?
The thought it would be best to do it near one of the second floor windows.
The first thing I heard was the shattering of glass and then three screams of my oldests name, and in a flash (hehe sorry I had to) both Bruce and I were upstairs looking through the now broken window down at my bloody and probably broken eldest bird laying on the ground two stories down. I blinked a few times before I snapped out of it and sprinted back down the stairs and out the door. When I got to him, I fell to my knees and checked for a pulse. I found one and sighed in relief before hearing footsteps behind me. Looking behind me, I watched as Alfred came over and picked Dick up and took him inside and down to the cave. I was slightly paniced, but I also knew that Alfred would kick me out if I followed him, so I turned to the three panicing kids and walked over to them.
"He's gonna be ok, boys." I murmurred softly to them as I took all three in my arms.
Wally and Jay sniffed and nuzzled closer. I sighed as I slid my fingers through Roys hair, knowing he wasn't very fond of affection.
-------Time skip to when Dick wakes up-------------------
I walked into the room where the boys were all gathered. I leaned on the doorframe, taking in the scene of my youngest cuddling up to his big brother and the gingers on each side of his bed.
With arms crossed, I made my presence known to the boys.
"Now that I know you're all alive and in mostly one piece, does someone want to explain to me why you four thought that it was a good idea to practice infront of a SECOND STORY WINDOW!!???!?!" I asked, yelling at the end and glaring at them.
They all looked sheepish and remained silent. I sighed and walked over.
"Boys, I'm not mad about the window. Hell, Bruce is already organising it to get replaced. But boys, we CANNOT replace the four of you. You mean the world to Bruce and I. He doesn't always show it, but he loves you boys. All of you. Not to mention your parents. Boys, if something were to happen to you, we would not be able to forgive ourselves." I said in a soft, gentle voice.
"We're sorry, Mamma." All four boys said in unison, all looking down. I sighed softly and then smiled softly at them.
"Alright, you menaces, how about we go up and drag B out of his ofice to whatch a movie." I said, and all four boys perked up and nodded. I chuckled and helped Dick up off the bed and up the stairs.
The rest of the day was spent watching movies and eating pizza.

The “Protagonist” of Underverse 0.7 (Part 1)
Now, this is an interesting one. This is also a hot take, potentially, and maybe a bad choice of words- “protagonist” typically suggests a main character and Underverse is a series where a true one main character is hard to pin down. I’d say Protagonist is definitely the wrong word actually, thinking about it- but I’m not sure how else to phrase this…
Maybe it’d make more sense to call them the battle perspective. That is, the person you’re meant to be rooting for in this battle, and the person who’s side is followed closest throughout the conflict once it gets rolling.
Tumblr media
Let’s talk about why in the WORLD I would think the character in this role is FRESH, and not Ink.
LET ME ALSO MAKE IT CLEAR NOW. I’m not about to suggest Fresh is the next main big character in Underverse or that he’s going to be saving the day or anything of the sort. If anything, I think now, he’s basically going to disappear until maybe the very end to show up in a final shot of some kind exactly the same as he was. (I would love to be proven wrong about that but I doubt it.)
I’m talking exclusively about the second half of Underverse 0.7 Part 1 that takes place in the Antivoid/Doodlesphere, specifically the conflict that happens in the doodlesphere. So just the parts Fresh is there for. Everyone clear on that? Yeah? Alrighty.
So, how could I possibly think FRESH is the main perspective on this battle and not Ink!?? Ink is present for all the conflicts much more directly as the focus, is the one who has a character arc in the episode, and has been super important for basically the entirety of underverse what with his connection to X Gaster and everything else. Ink’s TOTALLY main character material while Fresh is super background!! Surely this is me actually being out of my mind right?
Maybe. But hear me out, because I’ve got some interesting evidence for this.
Point 1: How Fresh arrives
Tumblr media
Fresh shows up to the scene as one part of a duo with someone who is undoubtedly a main character, Cross. This still signs him up as a sidekick more than anything, on its own, but there’s more to this than that. Specifically; The Gift. AKA, Fresh’s Payment for the favor he did Ink, something Cross doesn’t know about, but has been used in promotion and as a symbol of this episode for a while now.
That Gift has so little to do with Cross that he didn’t even get told what it was in vague terms by Core, all Core said was “Don’t worry about it, just go,” even though Core could have answered that Cross was going with Fresh of all people because ink gave him a promise, or a gift, or a favor, or something of the like.
Cross is also kicked off into what we find out to be Aftertale within the first few minutes of showing up- I think it’s safe to say that for this episode, Cross is not a focal point for the part of the video I’m focusing on here.
There’s also what Ink is doing when they show up. Besides, y’know, being thrown around like a wet sock by Error.
He’s holding the gift and looking for Fresh.
Tumblr media
He’s PROTECTING that gift very very hard. To the point of when error was throwing him around, his focus was on making sure he did not lose that gift, even despite losing his vials in a blast soon after this. Ink didn’t remember what it was initially! But when he realized that was singularly his focus; Get this gift to Fresh.
Error is obviously an antagonist here who is preventing Ink from delivering that gift to Fresh. Also not consistently present- definitely showing up multiple times, but not there the entire time. You love to see him throwing a fit about the lack of spotlight only to hilariously still be losing the spotlight to, of all people, Fresh.
We can tell that everything here is centered around Fresh and ceases to function without him here, but there’s a much more compelling reason why I think Fresh is meant to be the focus here and the lens through which we view these battles.
Point 2: The Vials
Tumblr media
These are Ink’s Vials! Yes, I can hear the confusion starting again. These Vials, however, are what keyed me into the fact that Fresh is the one we’re watching, not Ink. If this graphic hadn’t existed then I wouldn’t have realized it myself- but they work in a very peculiar way in this fight/chase sequence.
Fresh, currently, has all the vials. He’s playing a game of keep-away with Ink, skateboarding away with them to keep them out of his hands, meanwhile Ink is trying to attack him to get them back, and drink them.
This graphic is pretty unnecessary if it was solid. You can know the colours of the vials if you look at inks design, so it’s purpose isn’t apparent until a few moments later, when Fresh tosses out the Green and the Yellow, which are then caught by Ink…
Tumblr media
Who drinks them. Regular Ink behavior- but now we see what the vials are there for! Ink drinking them emptied them, marking them as no longer a piece in play, completely greyed out.
…That doesn’t make a lot of sense, does it?
Ink is trying to get the vials back from Fresh. If the visual was trying to keep track of how many Ink had gotten back, then all of them should be unavailable until Ink has them. Especially given at this point, Ink is being actively taunted about a variety of things I’ll dig into more in other posts- but that needless to say are encouraging him to magically pursue Fresh.
Perhaps they’re simply keeping track of how much material is in each vial..? But that would also be odd, wouldn’t it? Why would Ink need to keep track of which vials are full or empty? His magic isn’t tied to the colours he has access to, and the vials don’t change when magic is used by Ink, just when they’re drunk. Not to mention, Ink doesn’t have those vials yet- Fresh has them.
And you know who would profit from keeping track of their volume, and which ones have been consumed? Fresh would. It's VERY important that Fresh keeps track of which ones Ink’s drunk, for reasons that are made clear later. HE is the one that is making that visual matter- and it’s tied to HIS goal, not Ink’s. We’re seeing his side of this battle, the side where he has to know which vials are empty for the last part of this battle.
When the vials are no longer a checklist. They’re a timer.
Tumblr media
These Vials, in the latter half of their fight, become a timer that goes down at a steady rate over the next few minutes. This timer is very very obviously for Fresh specifically, marking how much time he has to be in control of ink’s body. Anything he wants to do, he has to do it before he runs out of the material now in those vials- making this graphic undeniably one that applies to Fresh specifically, not Ink.
Why does this matter? What’s the point of knowing who’s perspective we have on this battle when we’re watching from the third person anyways? Well, for one it’s cool as heck to see this and ponder it, but for two; it’s so that the shift to Fresh!Ink isn’t that strange or jarring. Having Fresh take over the main character and perspective of the battle would be odd, and would mean forcing your main character to take a back seat. It’d mean Fresh was actively uprooting something planned and prepared before and causing a disruption.
That’s no good! But that problem goes away if Fresh was always the focus. No need to shift perspectives, no need to see how Ink feels while being possessed, none of that. Fresh is the one who’s in the spotlight- and this is further accentuated by how he acts while possessing Ink. He’s not talking to Error, that’s for sure, and he’s at best kind of talking to Ink, maybe.
Tumblr media
That’s not actually it though. No, he’s talking to us, full on PSA mode, turned towards the camera and giving a guide on how he plans to win as he proceeds to. The spotlight on him makes overwhelming sense, with that- and it’s EXACTLY the kind of thing he would want, maybe even fitting payment that he decided to take for himself when Ink’s gift was so sub par.
He wants us to pay attention to him. He wants to be seen, to be remembered, to be adored and to exist without question. Because that’s what it means to be a character. That’s how you continue to be there, how you keep from fading away into irrelevancy- how you end up getting replaced, and written out of your own life.
Tumblr media
And he is terrified of being replaced. He would do anything to keep himself important enough for us to care about.
Maybe the gift was the funniest thing in the multiverse after all. An opportunity for Fresh- ridiculous, overshadowed, often misunderstood and ignored Fresh- to temporarily take the biggest spotlight possible from one of the main characters of the series, asserting himself in legendary, radical fashion as an essential part of this otherwise very serious high stakes story that cannot be overlooked or replaced. Because you have to admit, THAT is hilarious.

Just finished Here Comes The Sun and it was absolutely brilliant. I want a ⭐️ director’s commentary ⭐️ on how you navigated Alex’s side of it all. Of course we’re only privy to Miles’ internal dilemma, but you did such a great job of Alex giving Miles signs, yet there were moments where I couldn’t read him at all and kept me guessing (in a good way).
Sorry if this was a longer ask than you were hoping!
hiii 💗 thank you so much for your lovely words about here comes the sun, i'm SO glad to hear you enjoyed it 🥰🥰
oooh that's a great question (and thank you so much, i love that alex managed to keep you guessing too)! i wrote that fic almost a year ago now, so the process isn't as fresh in my mind now as it would have been then, but i do have a few thoughts on your question:
i think the fact i wrote it very shortly after getting into tlsp was a big factor in why i wrote it the way i did - i think it made it easy to get into the headspace of someone (aka miles) who was on the outside looking in, having a sense of what might have been going on with alex but not really knowing for sure, just having a few pieces to try and put things together from and still very much trying to figure things out. one of the things that's always struck me so much about alex is his contradictory capacity to simultaneously be so vulnerable and open whilst also hiding himself so effectively. he's a little like a cloudy day where you catch glimpses of the sun here and there between bits of cloud, but never quite for long enough to see the whole thing - and i feel like that's a sense i really wanted to capture when writing this fic? like giving little vignette moments of the sunshine (eg alex's drunken conversation with miles), but interspersed with enough cloud to give that sense of uncertainty for miles that pushed him to think about and examine his own feelings more in a way he wouldn't have had to otherwise.
also, although i wanted to keep that kind of chameleon-esque ambiguity that feels so characteristic of alex, i also knew very clearly in my own mind where he was emotionally at throughout the fic, so i think that helped pin things into place and gave shape to certain scenes even when that wasn't obviously being addressed.
i took so much inspiration in terms of body language/expressions/ways of speaking from interviews and performances of alex and miles together, and i think pulling those little tells into the story as much as i could really helped me navigate alex's side of things in a way that felt authentic (to me, anyway!)
i have to admit, writing alex and the signs he was exhibiting (and trying to hide sometimes) in this fic was absolutely one of my favourite things about it. in my mind, he was resigned to his feelings and very back and forth about how much to reveal to miles throughout the fic. how much he wanted miles was tempered by how much he cared about him and their friendship, so he was kind of constantly fluctuating between a kind of challenging 'fuck it, let miles see how i'm feeling and do what he will' and a desire to protect himself from rejection and fear of losing what they have with their friendship/hurting miles. so he kind of goes from moments of recklessly just laying everything on the table (eg that entire first smut scene where he just looks at miles, holding miles's gaze when there are those moments of tension between them after their flirty tussling etc.), to suddenly pulling everything back because it feels suddenly too real and too risky (eg the morning where he's writing stuff sitting outside on the curb). and that constantly fluctuating headspace of course made it SO much harder for miles to figure out what was really going on. i think all the way through, alex suspects that miles feels something too, but he doesn't really *know*, and he doesn't trust his own judgement - it's only when miles gives him a really clear sign at the end that he's able to finally make that move.
oh help this ended up just being a huge long ramble, and i'm not even sure if i've fully answered your question 😅 i don't feel like i've been super coherent, but i hope this makes a little bit of sense or at least gives a glimpse into my headspace when writing alex!
thank you for asking such an interesting question, this was a lot of fun to think about 🥰

just wanna say I really love these concept/alt covers for the Transformers Prime comic series
because Bulkhead and Ratchet are both depicted so perfectly here, uh oh I feel a long post coming on, here we go
Bulkhead: war sucks but wrestling is cool, aka striking a pose as a coping method
Bulkhead seems to be pulling a pose that either evokes a winning pose from one of the wrestling matches he’s watched with Miko (I distinctly recall a Hulk Hogan pose in which he took a helmet thing off a fellow wrestler and put it between his fists like this lmao, and we know from dialogue in the series that he’s watched at least some wrestling and demolition derby shows with Miko)
OR alternatively it could be a reference to a gladiatorial victory pose; I can see gladiatorial battles being a recreational thing for industrial/construction working class bots like Bulkhead, especially as we know from the TFP novels that at least big name gladiator battles were broadcast fairly widely and primarily amongst working class/caste oriented city-states on Cybertron
he seems to enjoy watching sports with Miko, so it could very well be something he did back on Cybertron back in the day as well
Ratchet: this isn’t my planet, but it is my lawn, so get off it (he’s old)
Ratchet is depicted sitting down in these two versions of the cover, which is entirely appropriate as he’s an older bot and while he does see combat fairly regularly, he is still far less active in the field than any of the other bots-- he even jokes in an early episode about his “rusty servos” (I feel you, Ratchet)
and synthetic energon aside lol, we know that he seems to keep himself regularly below what appear to be some kind of recommended fuel reserve averages (check his wrist vitals monitor in Stronger, Faster), which naturally would lead to tiring out more quickly than someone else who may be more adequately fuelled prior to entering a fight
so it makes sense that after a heavier battle than usual, with just him and Bulkhead against what seems to be a good number of enemies, he’s gonna want to (or need to) sit down for a minute after all that shit is sorted out
characterisation in one image: goal achieved
the second cover in colour especially does a great job of lending a sense of real physical presence to both of them; Ratchet looks weary and it feels like his armour weighs particularly heavy on him, Bulkhead looks robust and confident in his ability to Hulk Smash, standing firm and powerful
but, also!
their poses are indicative of their relationship as teammates
Ratchet needs a break, so Bulkhead remains on standby, literally standing behind Ratchet to provide cover and maintain watch of the immediate area; His pose might also represent a lingering threat to any remaining enemies-- Notice how Bulkhead’s pose isn’t too goofy at all, his head isn’t tilted to the side or anything; He’s not being too cocky here, he WILL destroy whoever he needs to if it comes down to it.
We know Bulkhead doesn’t like taking people out, but he does admit that he’s good at it, and he does his best to stay light-hearted under far from ideal circumstances. The pose might be serving a genuine psychological purpose for him, to some degree; Striking a pose helps him stay amped, helps him blow off a little of the “I just beat 50 bots to death with my in-built tools which are made for construction work” vibe, which understandably would still be upsetting for a fairly chill bot like Bulkhead.
He enjoys a good fight in good fun, and rough-housing is all good, but he doesn’t like taking people out permanently. It takes a lot for him to really get pissed off, and we only really see Bulkhead get mad to the point of actual personal violent intent when he goes after Starscream in the infamous “holy shit Bulkhead just beat Starscream to death” scene.
He also demands Miko look away when he has to destroy a bot in front of her in another episode; He’s mindful of genuine violence, and really goes for it only under the most extreme situations in which it is necessary. Playing it down as much as possible (while avoiding being outright dismissive of the seriousness of it) might just be his way of doing what he can to make it less of an awful experience for himself-- And to try to lessen the impact of witnessing violence on Miko, whenever she’s around.
Meanwhile, contrast that with Ratchet’s posture; His head is tilted downward. He’s not confident, he’s worn down.
Aside from still being old, he’s also still a medic. He doesn’t want to kill other bots any more than Bulkhead does.
His posture is indicative of exhaustion, he’s more tired out by all this shit than the younger bots, sure, but his pensive look is likely a combination of both physical and mental fatigue. Every fatal blow on a no-name enemy is a (sadly necessary) moral injury to Ratchet; These people could have been fellow civilians at one point.
This war didn’t need to escalate this badly. He could be running a clinic somewhere in Iacon right now; He could have a whole staff of medics working under him in a central hospital, or doing any number of things to save lives, not take them-- In an ideal world. But this is the world there is.
And in this world, he’s using in-built blades intended for surgical procedures on larger frame types, intended to save lives, to instead run out of his makeshift med bay and into battle, cutting bots apart rather than welding them back together.
It feels fucking bad; Ratchet is not having a good time. But it’s necessary, and he wants to ensure Bulkhead isn’t at increased risk from even worse odds against him in the battle, so Ratchet goes out there and fights because of course he does. He’ll keep doing it until he can’t anymore, because at least for every enemy he cuts apart, that’s one less wound on a fellow Autobot.
In the sketch cover, he’s sitting facing away from the pile of bodies around them, as much as possible-- Although the helm between Bulkhead’s fists is roughly eye level with Ratchet, so he’s confronted with the carnage either way. It’s impossible to ignore war on the battlefield. It looks as though his optics are shuttered/closed in the sketch, although it’s a little hard for me to tell.
In the second cover, he’s facing the ground--But a severed helm rests under his foot, and it seems he might be staring at it a bit, leaned forward with the weight of a long life and a long war resting on his shoulders.
In one image, we get the victorious confidence of Bulkhead, who has strength and energy and a greater inclination to try to make the best of a terrible situation, contrasted with Ratchet, who is sat with his helm down and shoulders heavy, unwilling or unable at this point to muster anything other than “job done, I’ll catch my breath and we can get the hell out of here”.
it’s really good characterisation, all in one go.
tl;dr these covers are so fucking good
I know these covers are old as hell by now lmao, but I just really love them, because you can get so much out of a single image here.
if you read all this, thank you! <3

Hey Kilt, from the WIP game, can you tell me something about the Little Troopers? *___*
Since I know you love Fox, I'll talk about Fox.
Little Trooper Fox is the return of Tintin, and he reclaims his reign of terror and menacry with proper Foxy fashion.
Fox was little-fied somewhere near the Chancellor. Thus, he's imprinted on the Chancellor. He doesn't understand why, but he is supposed to be near that old man.
This is bad... because good ole Sheev reveals himself to—HATE—children. Oh, he doesn't say that he hates them. However, it is quite evident how badly he is around a tiny little bitey Fox.
Fox never had a "Jedi," so he doesn't imprint immediately on any of those who take guardianship of Clones—usually their CCs. Unfortunately, Fox has a low tolerance for being alone and feeling abandoned—it hurts him, it really, really hurts. Riyo offers to take him. However, Fox kind of has a tantrum at the suggestion of being removed from all the other little Clones.
He ends up becoming Mace Windu's problem.
Master Windu reveals himself to have known more about Commander Fox than expected because Ponds talked about his childhood friends a lot. Mace didn't talk about this with anyone because he felt like it was someone revealing something private, and he wanted to respect that. Also, what he learned felt... like something meaningful he enjoyed having to himself.
The point was that Mace knew more about Tintin than anyone expected. That didn't mean that he wasn't taken aback by how much the kid could talk and talk and talk and talk or the escapades that went on when Fox got an itch to "explore", aka, get into trouble. Dealing with someone so uniquely food-motivated is easy for Mace and helps him encourage Fox to do what he wants. That... affection and attention also get Fox to do anything opposite his usual mayhem.
That's right, folks. Fox is an affection whore. Little Fox would DENY that he wants to snug up against his Jedi like Wolffe does with his Jedi, Master Plo. But, what is a tyke to do when he is offered a reading session?
Speaking of Wolffe and Fox—two food-motivated Clones? Fox is always stealing food from other Littles, and this is one of the only ways to trigger an aggressive response out of Darling Wolffe.
This actually goes into an event I want to share that will fully show Fox's true character.
The usual band of Little CCs—Cody, Wolffe, bb Rex, Bly, and Fox—are playing in the Hall of Fountains. Their usually observant Jedi are chattering together in a circle while the kids just run around.
There is a BIG OLE SCREAM! Ever heard a small child scream from pain and fear? Ever seen what it does to any adults in the vicinity?
Instinct is strong.
The Jedi RAN towards the scream. There they find the little Clones gathered around a Fox that is on the floor, crying his little heart out, face scrunched up with all his emotions, and a hand holding the same side of his head.
Fox has fallen and hit his head.
And he is full-on acting like this is going to be the death of him. TRAGEDY, we say, tragedy.
One of the Jedi asks what happened, and the others explain that Wolffe pushed Fox... which is why Fox is making the scene that he is. Unfortunately, the scene looks kind of bad for Wolffe, which is typically out of character for him—he is one of the calmest of them, the most people-pleasing of the bunch, and very sensitive on behalf of others.
Except Fox is a master at pushing other people's buttons. Push. Push. Jab... JABjabJABjabJABjabJABjabJABjab. No matter what, someone shouldn't push.
Wolffe looks ready to burst into tears.
Now, until then, Fox hasn't really said anything. He's just sobbed for his tragedy. There might have been some blubbering about the AGONY. But, when it looks like Wolffe might actually be held responsible or even reprimanded—a reminder, Wolffe is very sensitive, and one whiff of disapproval from those in authority, especially Plo, and the guy's world is OVER—Fox says through his tears—
"He didn't MEAN to do it! He didn't push HARD. I tripped!"
This story will be significant to summarize the character of our Commander Fox, even as a tyke. He will cause mischief. He will pester and bother on purpose or not. He will talk anyone's ear off. And... he bites.
Doesn't mean that he's going to let someone take blame or condemnation for something they were not responsible for, especially if it would hurt them like it would hurt Wolffe.
Mace was mighty proud of his little menace that day. He also wasn't surprised in the least bit.

Did Izzy know why Ed wanted Lucius?
Izzy seems off in this scene, which is only fair, considering all that’s happened. He’s only one man, and he’s trying to juggle the fine dining tableware, tureens and all: managing a crew that hates him (their loyalty is always to one or both co-captains, but never to Izzy himself), running a ship (because Ed’s in no state to act as captain), manipulating Ed, and whatever other problems have arisen (the British navy, his unstable relationship with Ed under new stress from his betrayal and Stede’s presumed abandonment, &c.). Under such circumstances, it’s no surprise that Izzy’s “off his rhythm”.
But think of Izzy’s day to day life. He most likely managed the crew for Blackbeard somewhat frequently (if Ed’s been down, particularly easily distracted, or similar), he’s the one that Blackbeard would outsource “the big job” to, and, until Stede came along, he was the only person that knew Blackbeard well enough to even attempt to ride the roller coaster that was Ed’s Mental Health (even if he was having a negative impact). He acted as Ed’s task manager through years of ups, downs, and presumably there were other shipwrecks like the kraken incident. He’s survived years of fighting as Blackbeard’s Right Hand Man, fought the Spanish Navy, did business with the British Navy AND King George I by extension, and actually managed to get a pardon for Blackbeard.
No. Izzy’s too experienced to be this thrown off by such a thing. So why is he behaving so strangely?
Perhaps because Ed wanted Lucius. Of course we know that Ed wanted someone that knew how to write (limiting it to Lucius and Jim) so that someone could “jot down some lyrics”, but was Izzy aware of this? He knew that Lucius was the scribe aboard the Revenge (“shall I summon the boy to take notes?”), but consider the situation from Izzy’s point of view:
Izzy clearly hated Stede from the very beginning, and this hatred of Stede increased as Stede and Ed’s relationship progressed
After the night that Ed taught Stede some new sword fighting moves, Izzy misunderstood the relationship between Ed and Stede
Izzy believes that Stede “did something to my boss’s brain”, so at great personal risk, he made a deal with the British Navy (and King George I by extension) in order to “save” Ed by sending the British after Stede and getting a pardon for Ed
Then Ed decides to stay with Stede, even though it would mean going to war for the king
Izzy takes control of Izzy’s Revenge (aka the Revenge), but the crew mutinies and nearly kills him
Beardless and heartbroken, Ed shows up and saves Izzy at the last moment
by asking for TEA in his cabin
Ed’s so unwell that he won’t even leave the cabin
Ed may not have specified that he wanted Lucius to write down lyrics in order to try to get over Stede
Izzy knows that wants to be alone with Lucius
Izzy remembers when Lucius and Pete “took rations”
that Lucius drew Fang in the altogether
And this scene: IZZY: You're gonna swab the deck… twice. Then patch the mainsail, oil and rewick the cannons, then stack the munitions, and by the time you've done all that, I'll have several more chores for you. LUCIUS: And what if I don't? You're not my captain. IZZY: I could spill all your beans. You've been a proper little seductress, haven't you? Black Pete, Fang. Who else is there? LUCIUS: Hey, Pete? PETE: Yeah, love? LUCIUS: I drew Fang naked. PETE: (laughs) Nice. He's drawn most of us. LUCIUS; See? We don't own each other. Dizzy Izzy. Or is it… Izzy the Spewer? It'd be a shame if the entire crew learned about that nickname, wouldn't it? IZZY: Go now. LUCIUS: Have you ever been sketched?
Izzy probably thinks that there’s something going on between Ed and Lucius
He’d finally gotten rid of Stede and now things were worse, to the point that Ed won’t even leave the cabin, and now there’s (not) something going on between Ed and Lucius
———————————————————————
Now, all of the above I had written somewhere on my phone before we even knew the release date for season 2, and though Stede and Izzy now seem to be working together (at least to some extent), I still think that there could have been a misunderstanding on Izzy’s part in that scene.

Saw Saturday came early! (Aka my friend and I are doing something else on Saturday so we got together and watched Saw III on Thursday instead) More thoughts from me about the movie
I feel like this movie REALLY made a big gore jump. Saw II already had a big jump from the original but this one… Jesus Christ. I worry that sometimes the traps get a bit too gruesome for their own good? We’ll have to see the later movies to see how my opinion develops on this topic
I was surprisingly okay with the angel trap? Idk it’s definitely a horrifying thought but I think there was just a very big disconnect in how that would feel/play out and the over the topness of it all made me able to watch it. Very creative though I will give them that.
Going along with that, rip Kerry. The start of the movie I was so ready for her to be like the dual protagonist of the movie and then she was not. I thought it coulda been kinda interesting but I get that wasn’t really the plot direction they were going with it
Generally enjoyed the character of Lynn! I wish I could’ve learned a little bit more about her before the end of the movie, but I get they were setting up the twist of her being Jeff’s wife so they had to keep things vague. At the same time, the absolute BALLS on her to threaten and taunt Amanda with that shotgun collar around her neck? She’s an icon for that
Lynn and Amanda could have been toxic yuri, if only they were given more time!!! I mean they *were* toxic yuri, but I’m saying in another life we got even more with them
Jeff sucks. Really really hated Jeff. And he wasn’t even fun to hate, I just hated him. Like dude I get you’re going through grief and fucked up because your kid died but come ON (Lynn, at this point the toxic yuri is looking like a better option for you than that sad sack of a husband)
The pig guts vat trap didn’t bother me like at all lol I’ve seen a few lists about traps and this one tends to be towards the top but it was whatever to me from both a story and shock value perspectives Like I like the idea of a psychological trap where the person being tested doesn’t have to hurt themself physically but rather has to do something insanely hard emotionally, but man. Jeff sucks so much that I didn’t even care about his internal conflict about destroying his dead son’s possessions. I was just sitting there screaming “hit the fucking incinerator button already.” Also yeah, rotting meat is gross but seeing it thinking about it doesn’t make me ill. The thing is, this was the trap my friend had the hardest time watching without a doubt. Different strokes for different folks
The hardest trap for me in this movie was the rack. I feel like I don’t need to explain why. I didn’t even attempt to watch any of it. As soon as the explanation was given, I turned my head and dutifully put my hand shield up lol. My friend was nice enough to give me the general play by play of the scene, but just listening to it was a lot
I liked seeing more Amanda in this movie and her character of someone who believes that John saved her life by putting her in a trap, but then can’t actually live and abide by that same code when it comes time to take up his work
(And she also falls into her own self destructive tendencies, despite being “saved” by John, showing how fucked up and flawed his own philosophy actually is)
Did enjoy seeing Adam again even if it was literally only in a flashback where Amanda is killing him
Also enjoyed the puppet again. He always makes me laugh and my friend finds it funny that I find him funny. Like that part where he’s just laying in the hallway with the trike? It got me so good
Curious to see where the movies go now that both John AND Amanda are dead. My guess is that John had some sort of contingency/final game that he wants to be played upon his death. This would mean that there’s at least one other apprentice running around who will carry out this game for him
There are only two people I’m aware of who we’ve been introduced to and have survived a game: Lawrence Gordon and Daniel Matthews (though he wasn’t really being tested but also he was in the death house so?? Close enough) so I think it’s gotta be one of them. I’m leaning more towards Daniel but idkkkkkk I’m not getting strong vibes from either of them that they’d join John like Amanda did. My friend is also keeping her lips staunchly sealed so I’m floundering like a fish here
Things I’m excited for/wanting to see in future installments: finding out who the next Jigsaw is, hoping for a little more focus on trap victims so I care about them getting out, the gay middle aged men (HoffStrahm), and more of the puppet

I would love to hear more about why delena taught you about love if you ever want to talk about it! I'd also love to hear what you see as Damon and Elena's similarities and differences.
So this is a really difficult thing to explain anon, at the very least without explaining the triad of ships that I attribute the same thing to, so I apologize for rambling about non-delena ships in my answer! And this will probably be tmi like everytime I discuss how shows/ships personally impact(ed) me
One of the first ships I ever became invested in enough to create content for- and start discussing in depth was Malec (The Mortal Instruments Series). To start this off I’d like to give a very short disclaimer- I was thirteen or so and still believed in destiny and fate and singular soulmates (one person literally designed to be with you that you just stumble upon out in the wild) and grew up pretty much under a rock (the only reason those books ever graced my presence was my eldest sister sneaking them to my older sister who snuck them to me) and had no clue that queer people existed at all. So color little me shocked for a solid second and doing math tryna figure out the scene where Clary says that Alec is in love with Jace (I philosophized about souls for five seconds and figured it out). All of this to set up how naively blind I was to the concept of love, to the point where Clary and Jace made perfect sense as true love from the moment she sees him- because my little mind had subscribed to the disneyification of romance without much thought to it as a whole. So being able to watch what seemed to me as obvious connection and therefore love between Alec and Magnus while the former second guessed himself was a new experience for me. Realizing that not only is love something that transcends the obstacles in life- but that it’s messy and complicated. Basically Malec taught me that love is a mess- it’s not always logical and above all it’s not something linear that exists at 0% or 100%. Because sometimes you’re falling in love with and choosing to pursue someone while still moving on from someone else- that feelings don’t just snap away because you’re actively pursuing something better for you.
Then Delena came into my sphere. Which I won’t lie wasn’t my first introduction to ships of their caliber, however, something about the individual characters made it come to life and made something in my brain click into place. Because there’s this big question that keeps floating around Delena in the early seasons which is ‘does Damon deserve love and forgiveness?’ aka Elena. Now the answer to that question appears quite simply- no. Damon doesn’t ask for it, he doesn’t try to change, he doesn’t attempt to earn it. However, Elena chooses to forgive him anyway to show love and kindness and turn the other cheek (okay- sorry for the religion bit, but biblical love anyone???). Which was eye opening and beautiful to watch. Because even with more years on me and more emotional intelligence it had never clicked how much work love could be. That you had to consciously make difficult choices and choose to forgive, to understand that people react to pain in all sorts of ways. So Delena taught me love is messy (lol, if you’re noticing a pattern it’s cause there is one). That people are chaotic and their emotions even more so, that you have to choose love everyday. And above all it’s not just something that exists in the good times, it’s bigger than that. That without that choice- that forgiveness love doesn’t exist and will fail every time.
Now- if you follow me and haven’t seen the show I apologize for the continuous spiraling, but Echo is the third ship that taught me about love. This one is much more complex and difficult to explain (but I kinda did explain it a long time ago in my farewell to the show) but Echo taught me to love my faults and myself, to see we are all worthy of love without tying ourselves into perfect knots. And to spare everyone me talking way too much I’m going to leave it there.

what do you think about will's line "you make [me] feel like [I'm] not a mistake at all" coming after the rain fight? he was devastated by the rain fight and thought of himself as stupid because of what mike said to him about not liking girls. he also destroyed castle byers because he was so hurt by mike's words. how does that fit into will's perception of mike as someone who has never made him feel like a mistake and who makes him feel better for being different?
(I really hope this ask doesn't come across as anti-mike or anti-byler bc I love mike and I love the ship so much, I'm just trying to understand how will's clear hurt after the rain fight and the distance from mike in lenora connects to the van scene and I'm asking you because you seem to have a good grasp on will's character)
warning: this is Extremely Long and i am Extremely Sorry, but the rain fight and what it means for their characters is one of my favorite things to talk about ever and so i have So Many Things to say abt it. sorry i lov u don't bite me pls.
no, i think it's totally fair to ask that! seriously, don't worry at all about how you come across. i don't agree with the idea that liking something = never acknowledging its flaws, so i'm always down to discuss stuff like this. i'm going to dive deep into my interpretation of the rain fight, because i feel i need to express that first in order to answer your question fully.
if i'm honest, back when it aired, the rain fight was what 100% struck down any microscopic crumb-of-a-crumb of hope that i had for byler in Any capacity, platonic or not. i finished the season and then didn't give a single shit about the show as a whole afterward, because i felt like it was such a slap in the face. not only to will, but mike, too, considering this is a character that's stood by will's side against all sorts of monsters, whether they were middle school homophobic bullies or eldritch monsters.
at the time, it was exceedingly difficult to reconcile the mike i loved and the mike i was seeing on screen, but i feel a little more clear on it now. i could be totally wrong, clouded by my own bias and perception, but here's how i see it all.
the rain fight hurt me more than anything in the entire show, because of how real it is and how neither of them are objectively wrong.
mike is in his very first relationship. it's shiny, exciting, and new. he's kissing all day, getting a rise out of authority figures, and having enough fun that he spends All of his time with her. it's not a serious relationship, but he's a kid, el is the first girl ever that isn't repulsed by him, they have an Insane trauma bond, and she's his "superman". it's not serious but it's Serious 2 Him, you know? he feels like a Big Boy now and he hides from his Very Bad Do-NOT-Touch-Or-EVER-Think-About Trauma behind this relationship. it makes him feel like he's moving forward.
will is feeling a similar sense of exhilaration and freedom. the gate was closed and the upside down has fled their world for good. hooray! he can finally be a teen again! he can finally be his version of Normal now, aka the will he was before the upside down! no more now memories, true sight, or fear that Something will come to get him, whether physically or mentally. he's a hostage unchained basically. it's summer, he has his party, and he just wants to have a good time with them. he just wants to be happy, live a little, and feel safe.
mike is seeking safety and reprieve in a girlfriend and will is seeking safety and reprieve in his friends.
but then...
mike's turning point:
mike is told that if he wants to continue to see el, he has to lie to her. so he does and then his Serious 2 Him relationship is over in a very unserious blink of an eye lol. he doesn't know how to win her back, because he doesn't actually know her, and he's understandably upset because he Wants To Have A Girlfriend Again because she's his Crutch.
he Needs her to feel Normal, but she does Not need him, which canonically makes him jealous. remember that this is something Super Important to his character, because having a girlfriend means he's Cool and Normal and Needed, which are more important than water and food to mike right now. i reiterate this, because that's mike's Entire Thing Since Forever. he Needs to keep up the act, because he doesn't like who he is without it as we learn in s4. he Needs it, desperately.
as such, this has him out of sorts and he seeks out lucas's help to win her back. we know mike, which means we know that he can get tunnel vision when he fears he might lose someone. so, this aggravates his already-negligent behaviors ("i was worrying too much about el" [paraphrased], "it's been like this all summer") and he turns into a Super Shitty Friend.
... i was going to go over will's turning point, but his journey is pretty clear, i think. everyone has a girlfriend and they all want to do girlfriend activities and they canonically forget about him in the process. he's there and yet no one sees him. ouch. lets fast forward to the fight.
will has reached his breaking point, because this campaign he's worked so hard on and is putting genuine effort into to make engaging for his friends is being treated like a joke. they're not laughing with him; his friends, his best friends are laughing at him. and that fucking Hurts. he's been trying to get them to do things they used to do, he's been trying to have fun with them in any capacity, and now that they're here... he's the fucking joke of the hour and they're quite literally jumping up and running at any opportunity to cast him aside.
so, you know what? fine. whatever. you guys win; i give up. have fun with the girls. i'm going home. lucas is shocked to the point of speechlessness at how upset will is, but mike immediately jumps into action. he softens, tries to go back to the game in earnest this time with lucas, and goes after him - almost trampling lucas - when his pleas are ignored.
will was invisible (to all, to mike) until he wasn't. (something about being careful what you wish for..?)
now, we fast forward again to the moment when will's heart is torn in two: "it's not my fault you don't like girls!"
first, let me say this: michael wheeler is a fucking bitch. we know this and we love him for it even when it hurts. that was a shitty thing to say, but... that does not make him The Shittiest Boy Alive, Ever. not even a little bit.
in season three, mike is a teenager behaving like a teenager. he felt ambushed by will's feelings and like it wasn't fair that this was all on him. ("you're the heart / without heart, we'd all fall apart"; again, the party is his responsibility, "but why is this all on me? why am i the bad guy?"; mike always has to be the leader, carrying the party on his back, but he himself doesn't get to unwind which is unfair in his eyes.) he isn't privy to will's journey like we are; he's caught up in his own world and his own shit, remember? he doesn't react super well, but will is yelling at him, very upset over something He Didn't Even Know He Was Doing All This Time ("you knew she was having trouble for a year and didn't tell me" aka this is where the "will doesn't tell mike the truth until it's too late" pattern begins), and telling him that he's the one ruining the party over some stupid girl, aka his (ex-)girlfriend, aka the girl that saved their lives, aka the girl that saved the Entire world twice so maybe don't call her stupid, will. (mike always sticks up for people, so of course he isn't going to react well to el being called stupid here, even by will.)
he shouldn't have said it, but mike is knee-jerk, cornered-animal reacting to will putting this all on mike's shoulders at the very last second after never having given him a chance to fix any of his actions. will bottled this all up and then exploded on him. of course mike isn't going to react well. of course he's going to put his foot in his mouth and say the first thing that comes to mind.
because in his mind, it really isn't his fault that will doesn't like girls lol. and it isn't HIS sole fault that the party is falling apart. not everything has to land on HIS shoulders. not everything has to be HIS responsibility.
he's a kid going through his own shit, that's lashing out at someone for lashing out at him first. it was shitty, it hurt will to his core, but i don't think mike meant to be cruel. he immediately backed down, tried to explain himself rationally (that they're all just changing and will should've expected that bc it's not like they can be the same kids forever), and then went after will (literally across town, on bikes, in the pouring rain and thunder, to his house and then to castle byers) to apologize.
he doesn't do this with anyone else—not even lucas or his own girlfriend. and when he does apologize? it's because someone is forcing him to, walking him through it, or because they did it first. mike doesn't ever make the first move or humble himself first... unless it's will. then he suddenly knows exactly what to do and what will needs from him. because he knows will and he listens to will.
everything that he did for will in that scene is precisely, word-for-word, what max told eleven that he'd do for her In The Same Episode just moments prior—but he didn't. he didn't!
he did everything he was "supposed to" without guidance or hesitation or headassery... for will.
when eleven confronts mike in season four and tells him he never says i love you, mike responds, very seriously, with "i say it." and you know what? i agree with him wholeheartedly.
mike loves will more than anyone. we're shown very clearly from the very beginning that the only person in the show that rivals his love, devotion, and loyalty for will is joyce. and will knows this! that's why mike is his bestest best friend! that's why he's hopelessly in love with him! because "max, dustin, and lucas, they're great..." but they're not mike! no one treats will the way mike does, and mike doesn't treat anyone the way he treats will! they're perfect for each other and will knows this! that's why he expected and wanted a future with mike!
and... he thought that mike wanted that, too. because THAT'S the crux of the rain fight. it isn't that will is gay. it's that will thought mike wanted Crazy Together, too! it's right there in the dialogue, what it is that they're really fighting about:
MIKE: I mean, what did you think, really? That we were never going to get girlfriends? We were just gonna sit in my basement all day and play games for the rest of our lives? WILL: Yeah. I guess I did. I really did.
the fight is representative of an amalgamation of things and it cuts will's life into yet another before and after, but the point isn't that will doesn't like girls. the point was that will really thought it was always going to be them together—he thought they both wanted that; that that would be the one thing that never changed, even if they and everything else around them did.
when will is looking at a picture of them and saying "stupid.. so stupid" and RIPS IT DOWN THE MIDDLE BETWEEN HIM AND MIKE, with the memories that Start And End With Mike And His Voice Being The Focal Point, i interpret it as him feeling stupid enough to think that his feelings, his wants, and his dreams were ever reciprocated. stupid enough to believe that mike really did mean crazy together in every single way. that he meant it the way that will meant it and had always meant it.
mike is the one that brings up forever and will confirms it. he says yes, i did want that with you and i thought you wanted it, too. their argument ends there, because THAT was the real issue. You Got A Girlfriend And Replaced Me With Her; Something I Never Thought We Would Do To Each Other. THAT'S (!!!!!) the issue. THAT'S why mike looks so devastated afterward. THAT'S why he bikes in the rain to apologize. THAT'S why he looks so sheepish when will puts his dnd book in the donation box, why he's worried that Will Is Going To Replace Him With Someone Else!!! because their rain fight was about the fact that it was no longer him and mike against the world!! mike got a girlfriend and broke their unspoken promise!!
THAT'S why mike repeats "we're friends. we're. friends." at rink-o-mania, why he tried calling him all the time for Months (he felt like he'd lost will the same way that will felt like he'd lost mike last summer, their roles were perfectly and exactly reversed here), why he said that hawkins wasn't the same without him / there's no one like you, why he said they should be a team again (an Us, a We, Crazy Together; curiously after his gf breaks up with him lmao). it's the same fight all over again. "i lost you" / "i'm right here." + "friends... best friends." / "not possible." it's always about loss with these two.
that's why i feel like the rain fight doesn't contradict will's van confession. i think will's line of thinking is that mike can't help how he feels; aka, "i can't blame him for not returning my feelings / outgrowing our childhood love". and him not returning will's feelings doesn't make will feel like a mistake.
what made will feel like a mistake was his desire to go back to how things were and the realization that that was impossible. will tears down castle byers because it's too full of everything he once had and he learned the hard way that There Is No Going Back, There Is Only Going Forward. the theme of s3 is about change and will realizes this in the most heartbreaking way possible.
i hate the idea of anyone reconstructing castle byers, because the point is that will outgrew it. he can't hide through escapism in dnd or in castle byers. he has to build a life that he loves and feels safe enough in that he Doesn't Need a castle byers. (that's why s4 has him coming out of his shell wrt his sexuality and wanting to be open and honest about it as much as he can be with the ones that he loves and trusts, and he'll continue/conclude that journey in s5).
in season three:
mike learns that he doesn't Need eleven (see: how happy he was with will especially at the end, seemingly on good terms, and giddy still as he told el abt them coming over for christmas [note how he mentioned playing games in their basement for the rest of their lives in their fight vs how he's making plans to have them both over so they can play with their gifts {aka he's still thinking of will bc he Wants that future with him, too, deep down}]) ... until she kisses him, tells him she loves him, and then his brain breaks and all hell breaks lose again because the byers are literally leaving in just a couple minutes so how the FUCK is he going to deal with any of that, AND THEN in s4 when he does seem okay with being broken up with again he's then 1) reminded that she's his responsibility and 2) he needs to save her because if he doesn't then the world literally goes to hell and they all fucking die. so. yanno. that's tough. mike takes two beautiful steps forward and then gets pulled fifty steps back every time.
and will learns that hiding is not the same thing as living and that he needs to stop that if he wants to be able to move forward (see: "he's good at hiding", using dnd as an escape vs him giving away his dnd books + hopper's letter and the cave metaphor + being more open in s4 and wanting to "come clean" about being gay + the gay-coded advice he gives mike abt truth and fear).
mike definitely hurt him, but that's one moment out of a million where he's otherwise made will feel strong, loved, and capable, and will has told us that much himself more than once. will doesn't fault mike for wanting something else, someone else. he loves him without any expectation of it being reciprocated in that way.
he loves him, just because; because mike has always loved him and shown him a kindness and mercy like no other; because mike has known what he is and loved him anyway; because mike came to him and told him he didn't deserve anything after their fight, that hawkins wasn't the same without him, that the past year was weird without him, that he's more to mike than any of their other friends even after all this time, that they should be a team again as they face the end of the world together without superman's help.
because no matter what... they always love each other in a way that no one else does. even if will wants more than that, even if he aches with it, he still knows that what he has with mike is so special as it is. and that's enough for him.
mike didn't treat him any differently when their biggest concern was some mouthbreather calling him a fairy and he didn't treat him any differently after the upside down when everyone walked on eggshells around him, thinking he was about to break. mike has always treated him like a person that is strong and loved, and one sentence in the middle of a fight during a very stressful time for both of them doesn't diminish a history bursting with love.
i think what will fears isn't mike knowing he's gay, but mike knowing how will actually feels about him. i say this, because of the van confession and this line of will's in particular:
Sometimes I think it's just scary to open up like that. To say how you really feel, especially to people you care about the most. Because, what if… what if they don't like the truth?
this is played with the [tender, emotional music] which we know the sound directors used for intimate moments. will is also gauging mike's reaction here, giving him a searching kind of look, like he's testing the waters. will doesn't know this, but we as viewers know that this is a conversation about mike not being able to tell eleven he loves her. it isn't a reach to say then that will is talking not about being gay, but specifically about "how [he] really [feels]" about mike. that's what scares him: his unreciprocated crush, not his sexuality.
the duffers have said that will is trying to make himself be understood in the van scene and that will cries because mike doesn't get it. if he thought that mike was a homophobe, he wouldn't want to share this about himself. instead, mike makes him feel better for his otherness in all its shades. he wants to tell mike, because he wants to be honest with him and release some of that burden from his chest. but he's scared. he's so, so unbelievably fucking scared.
because, it's exactly as will says: "what if [he doesn't] like the truth?" what if that ruins the friendship that they just rebuilt? what if eleven finds out and then it's Even More Weird and Uncomfortable for everyone involved?
and considering how self-sacrificing will is... i feel like that's his other biggest concern regarding that entire clusterfuck. he loves them both. he doesn't want to hurt them or come between what he Thinks they have, because that'd be selfish and will isn't ever selfish even when he should be.
will's line about mike making him feel better for being different has canon support from season one and two. mike's outburst in season three is an outlier in his otherwise spotless record of loving will byers to an unhinged degree. even in season four, we see that mike never stopped reaching out to will. it was will who never reached out and mike was understandably upset about that, but even then he did try to include will afterward only to get iced out which "sabotaged the whole day" in his eyes. will didn't know this, though, and that's why he behaved the way that he did. still, will knows who mike is when he's not pretending and he wants mike to know who he is when he's not hiding. the rain fight hurt will indescribably, yes, but not because of the "it's not my fault you don't like girls" line in the way that it's understandably interpreted. so... i think it all fits together just fine.

Some Reasons Why Trafalgar Law is a Comfort Character of Mine!!
Aka me rambling about Law 🥳🥳
Some context
Trafalgar Law is a character that I’ve known about since I was a kid. A little over 10 years to be exact. I’d seen cosplays of him in anime conventions, his iconic polar white cap in anime shops, and his Jolly Roger everywhere.
Thanks to Aokkun’s artwork, I’ve also kinda known about Corazon, too!!
I never saw too many photos of him nor understood his power or character too well. I just knew that he was kinda popular and he was from One Piece.
I didn’t really start really liking him until I started getting more One Piece YT shorts.
I eventually did a One Piece Boyfriends Quiz for fun to see who I’d get. Law happened to be tied for third or fourth place. I did some more quizzes later on, and he always ended up consistently near the top (like top 3-4). So, I watched some videos on Law, and ended up seeing the Kid and Law vs. Big mom fight scene. Idr if it was that particular video, but I remember closing it thinking like woah, he’s cool.
After spending time researching him, spending time watching the anime, and indulging in his character and a lot of fanworks, I realized just how much this character means to me.
So, here are some reasons that I really like him!!
One thing that I really like about him is his style and appearance. It’s alot like how I like to dress and the clothes he wears, his hair color, skin color, color palette just really make me happy.
I like that he’s a doctor, since medicine is something that I want to be involved with in the future. I’ve been having alot of burnout lately since October, and felt like I’ve been losing the motivation for what I want to pursue. But, being able to relate to being young and already had some experience with medicine and being surrounded by supportive adults is cool (I’m referring to the novel and his family, not Doffy lol).
I like his design, VA’s, and attacks, too!! He’s just super cool in general. He’s also cute!!🤍🌸
I like how nerdy he is and honestly just all of the fun facts about him. How he’s a Libra like me, his flower (Queen of the Night), his spirit animal(s), where he’s from, his hobbies (not so much the coin collection deal, my sister collects coins!! Idk if she still does it tho).
I just really like him as a character. His black cat personality is a dynamic that I like working with alot. Him also being a doctor, I have alot of medical issues that I could see him helping me with and recognizing early on. He’d be someone who would look out for me. I feel like we’d butt heads in the beginning, but he’d always try to be patient.
This reason is also a bit random, but he reminds me of my mom alot.
My mom is someone who was incredibly intelligent at a young age. She had a really high IQ and was even suggested to do something with Harvard.
I’m not one to tell her story, but to sum it up, the way her and Law handled life are very similar. The way Law treats Luffy is also very cute to me. It’s funny seeing the high IQ black cat character x ADHD ball of sunshine together.
So, being able to understand his character and his motives was really easy. He’s a complicated character, but reading the novel helped me recognize that I’m understanding him well.
He’s really fun to draw lol!! There’s not much else to say but yeah!! I like drawing him a lot.
He also just makes me feel confident. Being genderfluid, he really helps me express my masculine side. I love how he still likes cute things and sweet things.
He also has some weird habits that I relate to, one of them being the bread thing LOL. I always thought it was alittle weird, but I realized that I’m pretty picky about bread, too.
I really like making HC’s for him and relating them to the people I know who remind me alot of Law.
One thing that I don’t think about a lot are the people in our lives who did alot of damage to us. I don’t talk about it too often, but I can kinda relate to Law’s story with Doffy and Corazon. Like Law, I met someone (who really likes flamingos too lol) at a low point, and it really only became worse, until another individual showed up and helped us out. They showed us the good in life and loved us. That person happens to be my boyfriend!!
It wasn’t an easy road, but, like Law, I started seeing the good in life, despite all of the bad luck I have.
Writing No Surprises has really helped me indulge in him as a character and enjoy writing. He makes me really happy and will definitely hold a dear place in my heart.
Anyways, I just wanted to ramble about it. I can’t wait to keep working on No Surprises!! I’m still editing and changing bits and pieces as I go along, but the ending and key details will be the same. 🌸🌸🌸
Regardless, I'm still finding more and more reasons to like him everyday, and it makes me super happy!! 🤍✨

Not sure if you've talked about it before (Apologies if you have and I just didn't see the post) but I was replaying the game and when Jack starts talking after the whole "You don't miss him, do you?" "..." "Aw, Sunshine..." exchange, it sounds so personal.
"He promised you the moon and stars. But what did it all amount to, in the end?" That's not the entire exchange but the way it's phrased... Sure, it could be Jack trying to nudge MC away from Ian, trying to really hammer it home that considering getting back together with Ian isn't worth it, all the heartbreak. But for some reason, it sounds to me like Jack is talking about his own experiences?
Now, we have absolutely nothing to go on but I feel like he COULD be talking about someone he used to be in a relationship with (or at least was very close with), who also worked on the show. Could be a director or... (and this is me reaching. Like, REACHING reaching) but what if Jean (aka Raspberry Rory) and Joseph were involved? If Jean (or a director) promised Joseph the moon and the stars, made all these lofty promises? To be together forever, to reach new heights? But then the relationship crashed and burned. Perhaps they didn't expect Joseph to get as popular as he did and got jealous. Maybe other things happened and all those dreams of staying together? Nothing but dust. Which would hurt Joseph, who, from the tidbits we got had a VERY unstable (home)life, very, very deeply. Opening up to someone is hard and was probably harder for Joseph and if his partner was a guy, that would doubly go because of the attitude re: homosexuals of the 80s. Or maybe whoever Joseph opened up to played him like a fiddle and took advantage of his vulnerability?
Hence why Jack sounds so bitter when he is talking with MC during that scene.
(Bonus points if 1) Jean and Joseph were involved. 2) If Jean was the guy who killed Joseph in a fit of jealous rage. 3) Ian really is Jean's kid. Can you imagine the fury Jack would feel upon connecting all the dots?)
That line from Jack stuck out to me too. It inspired me to write one of my darkest theories, the Tragedy of [Redacted] in fact.
Also, maybe it's just me, but when Jack almost seems distracted at this particular part, as if he's remembering something. He's looking away the entire time he says it and sounds a little distant, which is a credit to his VA to put so much emotion in his lines.
Jack He promised you the moon and all the stars…And I bet he did it so well… … Jack …But what did it all amount to in the end? … Jack He doesn’t love you…He can’t love you… … Jack Nobody who can do what he’s done to you knows what love even is.
It certainly lends more evidence to me that Jack is seeing parallels between the way Ian hurt MC and something that happened to him in the past.
Although it's a popular headcanon that Jean was jealous of Joseph or even was the reason for the murder, we don't actually know if that's the case. For all we know, Jean could be revealed to be someone just as sweet as the pastries he pretended to bake on the show.
I do, however, think that Joseph was taken advantage of back when he was alive. The way he cautions MC about "other people" makes that pretty clear. Also, he asks what Ian "provides" to MC to make their pain worth it. Did he have a toxic lover who "provided" him with something he needed as Joseph? Did they make him feel like he had to "provide" something they deemed significant enough for him to be loved?
It's possible too that it relates to Jack being a star... specifically the way he was used by LambsWork Productions. Producers could've promised Joseph the moon and all the stars... or at least a life of stardom. But in the end they erased everything about him. They didn't actually care about him at all.
That possibility is a bit of a stretch, admittedly, due to the emphasis about love. Also there's the fact that Jack is a yandere, whose love has been twisted. His past probably plays a big part in that, all things considered...
Given some of the hints we've gotten about Joseph's past and the way people treated him, I have a feeling that he had quite a difficult time when it came to love...

Alex Rider S03E04 Reaction
My unspoiled reactions to episode four, aka TUTOR YASSEN LET'S GOOOO
Liveblog
Oh okay so they are blaming Blunt in this, even if I think the trap was actually the Malta operation to bring him in.
Omg John/Yassen flashback!!! Yassen was so nervous!! I love how calm John stays throughout it all. And gosh the way Yassen closed his eyes when John told him to does things to me. I assume John saved him but gave him the scar in the process much like in canon
Yassen watching him sleep!!!
I was so ready to go noooo when Yassen said they had to leave their past behind them but apparently it was about Ian and not John lol. Love Yassen calling himself a professional
Twenty years ago 🤔 So with John being at Scorpia for three years that means Alex is canonically seventeen now
Alex stop questioning them in front of other people ahsldfhs
Tutor Yassen!!! Lmao ‘faster! This is slow’ I love how him having high standards is canon
SPARRING omg their faces
“He was kind to me” 👀 yesssss
How did they not realise yet that Scorpia went after Consanto when the woman literally said Julia Rothman was going to finish with Consanto lol
Lmao the awkward silence when Alex fails to hit the more human like targets, and they’re not even pictures
Yassen telling Alex how to kill someone 👀
The idea of them being allowed to keep their phones as they are training in the super secret training facility is just wild lol. Like yeah I’d make the signal bad too, what if people connect to their fitbit or something
Well this isn’t love bombing lol
Ahsldfh Alex is literally missing and you could tell the authorities Jack
Alex lying about the beating is big SAS training in the books vibes
Lmao Alex comparing Blunt and Mrs Rothman
Ahhhh so that’s the show equivalent of the vaccine!!
Gosh Alex forced to hit her as she’s held down
Does Yassen outrank Nile? 👀 omg Yassen/Nile showdown
“This one is my responsibility” 🥰
Love Yassen going ‘yeah you sadists are letting it cloud your judgement’
“What are you doing?” “Filming this?” “Why?” “Because it’s evidence” “Yeah of me committing a crime” ahsldfhsh yeah Tom!!
Yassen just. Refusing to talk about John is so funny to me
John saving Yassen <333 And gosh Yassen thinking of himself as expendable kills me
Exceptional agents <333 Though really there was no need to hit his cheek here lmao
Just let Yassen have his little speech about how emotions distract you, Alex 😭
Oh damn the taxi driver is Scorpia too, creeeeepy
“If he slips up just once, they are gonna kill him” yeah… unlike that other mission you were pretty casual about in s1… how is this a surprise??
Ahsdlfhs is Alex really gonna change their mind on weakness
Overall
Loved it!!! Really enjoyed the Yassen/Alex training scenes, though I kind of miss the love bombing from the book. Loved the John/Yassen flashbacks and I’m very excited to see more Alex & Yassen stuff!
Thoughts/Predictions
‘Kind of lonely though, right?’ I gotta be honest, the whole story with Alex challenging their notions of weakness and stuff really wasn’t doing it for me, but I feel like it sort of develops from Alex not being as isolated as he is in the books. Like yeah, it’s lonely, but Alex in the books is also lonely a lot of the time and it’s something that kind of goes with being in this world. But I do love Alex saying John saved Yassen out of friendship because it reminds me of his thoughts in Snakehead.
Some really interesting differences with the other students here, firstly in that the love bombing aspect isn’t there and they actually seem pretty antagonistic to Alex, while in the book they are all very friendly, in huge contrast to Alex’s earlier experiences with the SAS and MI6. It’s honestly kind of ironic that here it’s the exact opposite, because Alex lying about how he got beaten up is basically what happened with the SAS.
Second point about them is that they are all orphans and seem to be younger than in the book, so it seems the students are different? Are they teenagers like Alex? I honestly can’t tell, what with them casting adults, but I guess maybe Alex isn’t meant to be such an outlier in terms of age, which makes sense with the actors, but is interesting in terms of story because it means Alex isn’t exceptional for being young. I guess that’s also why it’s not made a big deal that he’s a teenager (also since it would seem unbelievable). But now John Rider joining at 30 seems like an outlier, since none of these kids actually had any experience haha.
Invisible sword seems to come from the gas and maybe still the nano particles, but how do all the people in London get hit by it? Just a cloud of gas? The football team probably got it in their system before the match with some excuse.
Nile’s so angry at Alex most of the time gosh. I guess Yassen took over the nice mentor role from Nile here.
Also real convenient that Mrs Jones and Jack don’t actually want to tell each other the truth lmao. I guess here the Department has no idea about who joins Scorpia since they have no eye on them like MI6 has in the book. But that also means there will be no all ports warning to arrest Alex.
Questions
Does Yassen know about John being a spy???
Did Tom and Kyra just… forget about Alex supposedly getting killed if they don’t do as told? Like do they really think Scorpia isn’t going to notice them not getting off the plane in London? The flight isn’t that long…

Oh because of the scaradotter fic or the v3 fic
Okay gonna go into more detail about these dark fics so under the cut they go!
Note though: the way I see both of these fics is that if I were to write them, they would be horror. Keep that in mind for the V3 fic especially dnasjdnsjak
The DottoScara fic is on my to-do list, but I have to be in a VERY specific mood for that dsnfkjnsfjkds. To clarify: the fic is currently called "Diablo", and it explores Scaramouche's live from the very beginning of his life, through his "Three betrayals," through the meat of the fic (Dottore torturing him via experimentation) and up until his final confrontation with the Traveler where he fights in the big robot. The main reason it's DottoScara is because the meat of the fic will explore the potential tortures Scaramouche faced under Dottore. AKA It's torture porn. Also something something you could argue that any and all vivisections Scaramouche endures can be allegories to being sexually abused something something invading the body in a way that is a very unique experience something something not intended but I've definitely written Wrenn in RPs where he feels violated in his healing verses when he thinks of the vivisections so there's that?
Anyway. The V3 Darkfic. Um. Ho boy. This one might get people screaming at me.
(I say, literally describing that Scaramouche endures Vivisections... But the themes of the V3 fic are.... things people really love to harass people about. Ah. Oh well, Antis, eat your hearts out.)
The V3 fic.... Listen, it didn't start off as a darkfic but boy did it go there real fast. I don't even know if I want to write this one. But I'll tell you the concept for it--the idea is when there are 14 students left, the Motive Monokuma and the Monokubs give them is a collar around their necks and the Seven Deadly Sins. The collars inject a chemical that is supposed to make their respective hosts more and more likely to enact their respective sins, and there are two of each sin. Three doses from the collar will make the student go into a frenzy if they've been resisting their sin for the previous 2 doses.
Sounds pretty interesting--until you think of the consequences of that and the sin of Lust specifically. It accidentally went from "interesting them and motive" to "Oh this is literally 'Fuck or Die' combined with 'Sex Pollen'." fsdnjfjkfnsdk
Definitely not intentional on my part. Anyway guess what two "I'd rather die than be vulnerable with someone, especially if forced into intimacy" boys got the Lust Collars. If you guessed Oumota you'd be right.
Since I think the concept of being forced into lust is a very horrifying situation, I was drawn to the idea of writing it from Kaito's perspective and writing down the horrors from his perspective. The fact that him and Kokichi keep blacking out on the third dose does not Help his imagination. I don't think I'd write any of the sex scenes (been there, done that with "A Little Out of Order", not sure if I really wanna do smut again) but I think the blackouts/reading Kaito slip from coherent consciousness into darkness make it all the more horrifying. Just, they're both drugged and black out, who knows what could have happened to either of them when they black out. They both hate this.
I think at some point Kokichi concocts the idea of killing himself just to make the motive end for everyone, but also because he gets to be at his breaking point because. Well. You know. Pretty sure Kaito has to stop him.
I do know Miu gets a wrath collar and ends up breaking a lot of shit in her lab on dose 3. That or she beats up Kokichi. Probably the latter because you know. That or sloth if only because I can't tell which sin would make her feel her worst. It's about the despair, everyone!
This idea of far less plotted out though because I don't really know what to do with it, let alone do I even really want to do anything with it. Like I don't know how the motive ends, if there's a murder, if the ship can even really become a true ship after that kind of trauma, ectect. So for now it's staying as a plot bunny in my head that I occasionally remember and ponder on.
Anyway. Ehe. if I start getting hate anons I'm closing my ask box immediately. Juuust saying.

you are the sun. you heal, you burn (for tntduo fic thing)
THANK YOU
okay so we've got an interesting dichotomy and a very magical air in this title so i'm definitely thinking something fantastical. fantasy au!
i'm imagining the "you" in this is wil, because he's the character out of both of them who's most likely to be volatile and have a "healing"/"burning" dichotomy.
i see wilbur as some sort of unique type of mob hybrid, a phoenix, with his abilities and species kept secret because of how valuable and identifiable they are.
i don't want any of that hybrid discrimination shit in this universe - most people have some sort of mob trait, and if they don't, they're not seen as inherently better. different species' mingle together happily.
each species comes with it's own unique traits. for example, quackity would be a duck (because of course he is), meaning he's a naturally good swimmer, has a pair of waterproof wings that he can use to fly for long distances, can sense magnetic energy (internal compass), and has a very strong respiratory system.
quackity is an amateur volunteer town guard (not a cop. more like a security guard) who's keeping the peace at the public market. he meets wilbur, who's new in town, and then five minutes later someone's stand goes up in flames out of nowhere.
obviously the guard collects itself and makes sure everyone is safe, but afterwards they start looking for the perpetrator. for some reason, quackity has an odd gut feeling about wilbur (who had vanished at this point) and tracks him down about a week later to interrogate him about it.
wilbur denies any involvement with anything that happened that day, but he says that he's always happy to help the guard. quackity can't tell if he's being a little shit or not but he takes his word for it, and the next time another case of arson happens, he asks wilbur about it, and wilbur very surprisingly is able to help out.
they start working together when there are random cases of petty crime or violence and quackity is sticking his nose in shit that he really shouldn't. guards don't typically investigate, they usually help immediately with emergency situations and try to help keep the townspeople physically safe in the moment.
quackity starts pulling some strings and begins to realize that wilbur is involved in some shit that's a bit deeper than he bargained for, but he wants the help, so he thinks he doesn't have a choice but to stick by him. he's also noticing that wilbur is hiding something (his species) that's making it difficult to trust him.
meanwhile, wilbur is working with an underground crime guild of which he has honorary membership (phil is the leader, techno co-leader lmao) to track down the owner of a remote magical item that could help him ensure his own safety and somehow manipulate his species traits to enable him to use them on others. aka, he'd have the power to heal and bring people back to life.
chaos ensues as they do various bullshit that eventually leads their paths crashing into each other, with quackity investigating wilbur's entire group and getting allies to help him do it and wilbur trying to evade detection while he makes progress on his ~ quest ~.
eventually quackity gets involved in the underground crime scene himself and finds himself very surprisingly in his element, taking his knowledge from a not-so-great hometown and an amazing strategy for several common gambler's games to win as much power as he can to unravel what exactly is making this city tick.
running out of steam but the fic would be long and winding and have LORE that would all culminate in this huge thing at the end with all the characters that have been acquired throughout and the main two would both have to make a big choice (between each other or their dreams). and i would cry
okay that's it sorry it took ages i'm insane and this idea is making me insane!!!
