I really love this years Lantern Rite in Genshin!

More thoughts, screenshots and spoilers under the cut!

I don't know what it is with the new area they released, but I have been in no rush to explore it. And that's not a bad thing. Somehow I just find myself going through the area as if I was hiking around it myself, a.k.a stopping every ten minutes to take a bunch of pictures of the scenery. I guess I feel no rush to explore the area because I want to enjoy everything it has to offer. It also helps that I don't need to gather any of the materials from that area for any characters atm.

I mean, just look at this place, it's so pretty

I've known Gaming for like a week and I love him already. He is precious, he deserves nothing but the best, he's great. 10 out of 10. The best boi ever.

I definitely teared up after his performance and when he had the talk with his dad. I didn't think I would tear up, but yup, it happened. Gaming is wonderful. Also Xianyun is great, and the fact that she even made Zhongli go along with her plan to help Gaming was fantastic.

(also confession. I've played genshin for 2,5 years by now and this Lantern Rite was the first time I did any co-op lmao. it was super fun tho)

BUT!!! THE MAIN REASON I ENDED UP WRITING THIS!!!!!

THEY MET!!!! FURINA AND HU TAO HAVE MET!!!! THEY ARE FRIENDS!!!

I didn't expect to see the Fontaine characters, but I absolutely loved the whole last sequence of the Lantern Rite story. It's great, it's everything I ever hoped for.

(I love how the implication was at first that Furina, having just turned mortal again, is immediately reaching out to Hu Tao for her services askfdghkd, even though that wasn't the actual reason)

I also can't believe that Neuvi and Zhongli almost met offscreen. I knew Neuvi would go back on his word of "I'm not leaving Fontaine for a long time" the moment Furina started travelling lmao. I'm surprised that he didn't notice Zhongli's presence even from a distance. I feel like that would have come up during the last conversation with Neuvi if he had noticed Zhongli. But Zhongli noticed Neuvi and ran away asdfkjghl. What a Lantern Rite it would have been if suddenly there was a massive fight between two dragons in the middle of it.

(a part of me is wondering if Neuvi was being an overprotective dragon and went to Liyue ahead of Furina and the others to show his presence to Zhongli on purpose, but maybe he just wanted to get the tea and taste the spring water lmao)

It's a shame Furina didn't recognize Zhongli or that they didn't get to talk freely about being Archons, but at the same time, seeing Zhongli try to dodge anything in relation to Neuvi was hilarious. Especially with Hu Tao throwing shade at him lmao

Girl, you don't even know how much you are stirring atm and I love you for it askdjgfhd. Her calling out Neuvi too with the "your friend... he doesn't go out much, does he?"

But I'm gonna end this whole post with this, because seeing this gives me so much joy

Who r u again? ♡ 24. goodbyes

warning: maybe a bit angsty (not really)

This is it. Your plane was now landing and the gates were opening. Your last night in lyiue. You're gonna miss it and you're sure of it. That's not even the main problem right now. It's a shame that you never get the chance to say goodbye to Xiao. Or get Hu Tao her car-money back.

You picked up your suitcase and started heading towards your gate. You enjoyed the almost empty airport but it was yet reminding you of your current situation.

Steps echo in your head, giving the fever dream vibe while you're slowly stepping toward the end. This moment was lasting forever.

Heavy footsteps caught your attention. Well not really. They were simply there, not loud enough to catch your interest. You didn't bother looking. Maybe you should have. It caught you by surprise. His arms wrapped around you and pulled you in for a tight hug.

"Please don't go"

"Xiao? What are you doing here-"

"I just wanted to say goodbye."

"Oh... Why tho"

"Isn't it obvious? You're leaving and we probably won't see each other again"

"Don't say that,"

You let go of your bag and hugged him back

"I wish you lived here name..."

"Me too xiao me too,"

You pulled him even closer, making sure there was no space left between you two. It was so warm you never wanted to let go. The hug brought you back to that one night when he held your hand on the bus. The feeling was so familiar.

You felt that way whenever you were around him. Whenever you hung out with him it made your head spin. Whenever he looked at you, smiled, or just was there. You fell so painfully hard for him. There are no words that would explain how deep your love for this guy is. And you hated it. The only thing you have will be taken away from you.

"The gate for flight 341100 will close in 5 minutes"

"I need to go now xiao"

You pulled away from him. Looked at him for the last time. Felt like this for the last time. Tearing your heart out would be easier than leaving him there.

You stood in line while he started heading out.

"Hey xiao,"

He turned around

"Remember that one time when you asked me if I liked you? Well I lied"

Last thing you said before the lady that was checking passports interrupted you.

You didn't catch his reaction and maybe it's better if you didn't. You just wanted him to know. But deep inside this tore him apart. He promised himself that he would never let anyone do this to him and here he was. Standing in the middle of an airport, looking her way even tho she's been gone for a long time.

It's been a few months since I ran from my past problems. I now am friends with 5 people who are childe, zhongli, Xiao, ganyu and hu Tao.

The first ones I met were hu tao and ganyu as ganyu found me in a distressed state and after I was calm she showedwed me around liyue harbor and I bumped into hu tao during that.

Through hu tao I met zhongli as I went to the funeral parlor to meet up with her but she wasn't there so I ended up talking with zhongli

Through zhongli I met xiao and childe. Met childe by him simply running up to zhongli and talking with him quickly then introduced himself, I wonder what he does to have so much mora? I met xiao by running into him and zhongli talking about the famous traveler.

I wonder how they will react to me wanting to travel, maybe I can ask them if I can meet traveler to help him, then I get to help someone and also explore places:)

I have currently called all of them to meet me at the funeral parlor to tell them about my decision, I was going to travel, Im sure they will be fine with it, right?

I open the door to see Xiao, zhongli, hu tao and ganyu..Where's childe???

"Umm guys where's childe?"

"RIGHT BEHIND YOU {NAME}"

I jump forward in surprise and turn my head to see childe with a happy expression, yea.. They be fine with it.

"What did you need to tell all of us,{Name}?"

I turn back to meet eyes with zhongli, deep breath... It's fine that not like them, it will be fine, deep breath.

"I wanted ask if you could help me meet traveler so I could fulfill my dream!"

I look down in fear, what if they don't help, what if they are like them. No, no it's fine, they aren't like them.

" you have a dream {N/N}!? What is ittttt, tell us! "

I stare at hu tao and take a breath, it will be fine.

"I want to travel around tevayt so I thought I could ask traveler if I could help him and in exchange join him in traveling over tevayt."

The room temperature drops instantly, they all look at me with shock.... Are they like them.... No it should be fine, we are all friends so it's natural to be upset or/and shocked.

"Your going to leave liyue??"

I look over a Xiao and ganyu who both were having two different emotions. Xiao looked like he was worried or upset, but then again with his past it's no wonder, ganyu you looks shocked and like she's about to cry.

"I'll keep in touch with letters don't worry!"

They all look at each other and look back at me and nod.

"Ok then {Name}, please tell us when your about to leave ok? We wish to see you leave."

I nod my head, I understand why they would ask thag, its natural to want to say bye to a friend of yours when they leave. I head out into the liyue harbor, it's night time.

I was in thought until I heard footsteps, I turn around to see...

A little explanation about the main story line, the main story is the sumera begining story (the one that leads up to the endings) then going onto this ending, the last part of it, which is the next part, is the true ending but I've been making other endings that suit your favourite characters out of the ones that I've/@pocarinapyon picked(they have helped me on countless occasions so a big thanks to them).

# MORNINGS OFF

✰ synopsis: mornings off with your bae — your birthday

✰ character(s): hu tao x gn!reader (pronouns aren’t mentioned)

✰ content warning: nothing just fluff

✰ note: a rework of something i wrote a long while ago.

the feeling of the morning sun suddenly shone onto your face making you squirm. humming in annoyance as you rolled around in the bed sheets. in a failed attempt to search for the missing duvet, you slowly returned to laying on your stomach.

though the sudden awakening, you were enjoying the sun. the warmth of it on your bare skin was enough to lull you back to sleep. that was until you felt a pair of familiar eyes staring into the back of your head.

“..mmm, stop staring i’m trying to sleep,” you grumbled into your pillow.

“come on! you can at least be a little more enthusiastic to see me.”

even with your back facing her you can always tell she’s wearing her signature cheeky smile. a smile that you’ve quite knowingly and undeniably grown to love. it can be non-other than your girlfriend, hu tao.

you sighed, as you flopped yourself onto your back, your eyes squinting from the light shining through the window. only to see her silhouette kneeling over you. her untamed hair surrounding her face as her eyes gleamed in the sunlight. “good morning.” she greeted. you sighed in defeat, to lazy fight back against your unsettling awakening as you murmured a ‘good morning’ back.

“love..” she said as her expression softened, “you do know what day it is right?”

“um, a tuesday..?” you guessed.

the brunette giggled sleepily as she moved her body closer to yours, sliding her legs up your torso. watching those cherry-red eyes gape at you. pursing her lips as they grew into a sly grin.

“aiya, it's your birthday silly. honestly, what would you do without me, forgetting your birthday,” playfully shaking her head teasingly. “i guess i’ll have to stay with you forever.” ugh how melodramatic. eyeing your girlfriend as her hand was placed on her forehead as she held her head back, waiting for a response.

you whined before pushing your lover off of you with your hands. “ugh i’m going back to sleep.” pulling the duvet over your head as you turned to your side. and to your surprise, the apartment fell silent. content with the level of noise you close your eyes, ready to fall back to sleep. and unfortunately for you, hu tao had other plans.

gradually, gentle hands crawled up your hips and up to your waist. your initial thinking was that you had finally swayed hu tao into resting for a bit longer. although that idea got shut down rather quickly as your girlfriend turned you over to face her once again. “boo!” your girlfriend exclaimed. “did i scare ya?” earning a raised eyebrow on her side.

“ughh come on (first name)! you promised to go out today, you even took a day off just for this. it’s morally wrong to not celebrate!” hu tao groaned, her plump lips pouting ever so slightly in an act to sway you.

“since when have you ever cared about whether things were morally right or not? the advertising that goes into that funeral parlour of yours is what should be considered morally wrong.” you snort.

“hey! you know that’s the main reason we—“ she retorted before briefly getting interrupted by your lips on her. your hands cupping her soft, delicate cheeks as you felt your lover quickly ease into the kiss. you can’t help but smile, making it obvious how much you were enjoying this.

slowly pulling away from the kiss as your lover’s cheeks reddened. “i-“ “shh, i know, i know.” you whispered, one hand combing through her hair whilst the or slid down to her back, keeping you two close. smiling as you felt her breath on your ear, your head resting comfortably on her shoulder.

it felt as if the world fell silent. the only sounds being both of your breathing heard as you two were encased in each other’s warmth, her arms encapsulating you. knowing full well that neither one of you wants a rare moment such as this to end.

due to unforeseen events at the funeral parlour, your girlfriend, hu tao has been working longer hours. leaving you stranded inside your twos abode, the only you two time spent together is being tangled up together in your shared bed during the night.

“(name)?”

“yes, love?

“we’re still going out, right?”

“of course.” smiling as you snuggled closer into her neck, her familiar scent filling your nose.

“do you wanna know something?” hu tao whispered as she clutched onto your shoulders to drag you into her view.

“yeah?”

“i love you.”

“i know.”

“hey!”

watching as her plump lips shifted into a pout, gaping directly into your eyes.you chuckled as you reassured, “i’m only joking,” failing miserably to hide your smile.

“i love you too.”

Lantern Rite Xiaether Ship Ammo

Lantern Rite has, as always given us a bunch of shipping fodder for ships old and new. Figured I'd list off the highlights.

Edit: so this became a Xiaether ship moments essay. so i'll just do another post later breaking down the other ships. I'll link it Here. if you are looking for the Sapphic lesbian ships they will all be over there.

So the first bit of Xiaether shipping fodder is in the beginning of Part 2.

Xiao saving Aether from drowning. Xiao's concern is sweet and the fact he came when we were in danger without us calling his name. Tells us just how strong of a bond he has with Aether when Aether is in Liyue. Aether doesn't even need to say Xiao's name for Xiao to be able to sense when Aether needs him.

The argument can also be made that in a life or death situation with Adeptus on his mind. Aether did subconsciously call out to Xiao. Even so Aether has gotten to a point where he doesn't have to verbally call out for Xiao to "hear" him. Which I think is a great thing to provide to a character I see as selectively mute.

And the boring answer is Paimon was so loud Xiao could hear her yelling from where ever he was in Liyue.

But I feel bad that we seem to have legitimately worried him. I offhandedly said it during the stream that the Traveler isn't someone that would find himself in a situation struggling to swim in that small of a pool. But it's true and everyone there knows how strong traveler is. Aether would either have to be extremely injured which is what Shenhe asks. Or it would have to be intentional. Which it was. it was staged to try in lure out the mystery Adeptus. But Xiao didn't know that. From Xiao's point of view Aether went into a shallow pool of water with the intention to drown/harm himself.

This is why he gives the line "Your actions here cause other's a great deal of worry. Do not repeat them in the future." Xiao uses Shenhe as an excuse to say others. But the main person Aether worried was Xiao. Shenhe just saw someone drowning. Xiao sensed Aether drowning and came from some distant part of Liyue to save him.

We of course don't see Xiao again until the Epilogue but maaaan does Mihoyo make up for the wait.

While Zhongli is making a big thing of this being the First time he's met the Great Adeptus Alatus. A name he should NOT Know. Aether and Xiao just share a silent look with each other. Is it a look of surprise? Excitement? Xiao knew Aether would be here. So he shouldn't be surprised. Regardless the first person Xiao locks eyes with is Aether before being dragged into introductions with Zhongli and the others.

Of course we then get Hu Tao being the ultimate wingwoman and not only suggesting Xiao sit beside us. But sit beside us because we are "pretty close". Which of course Aether agrees with but adds they are also old friends at this point.

Zhongli being onto Xiao's crush on Aether kills me. In trying to figure out how Hu Tao convinces Xiao to come to the meal. Zhongli is quick to shoot down the idea that it was just because Hu Tao annoyed Xiao until he agreed. Again we later learn the only one's Xiao expected at this meal was Zhongli and Aether. And you could argue Zhongli tried to invite Xiao when stopping by to collect ingredients. But Xiao didn't agree to come then. It's not until Hu Tao mentions also inviting traveler that he agrees. (Hu Tao words it as no one present will be harmed by his karmatic debt. Xiao reads it as the other guest will be Aether).

The others start messing around and Aether takes that as a moment to quietly check in with Xiao. He continues to check in with Xiao throughout the rest of the dinner. Which is really sweet.

After being told Xiao is still good Aether then offers another thing. well you can ask about the secret friend who is Venti or you can offer to have Paimon eat the food Xiao can't finish. The other side of the table is arguing about Xingqiu's uneaten carrots. So this is Aether offering Xiao a quiet out so he doesn't feel forced to eat more than he can. Xiao has a lot of mental trauma linked to food and sometimes just can't stomach eating at all. So it's really sweet that Aether is not only checking in about the socializing but also the food related anxieties.

Of course after Zhongli and Venti take turns poking jabs at each other Aether reads it as an opening to leave for some fresh air. Xiao doesn't speak much during the interaction but Aether seems to read him reaching his limit at some point. The twist is telling Paimon to stay inside. Leading to Actual alone time with Xiao.

Xiao's first thought is to check in on Aether which is really sweet because Aether has been checking in all night with Xiao. Aether tosses the question back showing they are both concerned about how the other is handling dinner.

Xiao mentions envying Venti's ability to bond with humans and of course Aether say's Xiao's perfect the way he is. That he doesn't have to change himself to be more out going.

One he thinks about our conversations often. Two he finds them different but in a good way. It's different talking to Aether than other people, but not a bad different. Xiao then admits to coming because he knew Aether would be there. That Aether being there would make the dinner easier to handle. That without telling Aether before hand he could trust Aether to help him handle the meal without question.

Xiao mentions being surprised at who the other guests turn out to be. But goes on to say he shouldn't worry about it. Instead focus on the present that he's enjoying. The present of being outside alone with Aether.

Xiangling comes out seemingly ruining the moment. But instead makes it better by offering Xiao's comfort food Almond Tofu. Both of them get a plate but Xiao saves some of his for later.

Aether makes a joke about Xiao just teleporting on them. But it slightly misses? Because Xiao takes it seriously asking why he would do that. Xiao's enjoying himself and feels like there's no reason for him to leave. And so in his own way affirms that he doesn't want to leave yet.

Xiao tries to tell Xiangling she really didn't have to make the tofu. But it only takes one huff without words to communicate with Aether and realize he should just take the gift. I'm a firm believer of the selectively mute traveler and the reason Paimon talks so much is so Aether doesn't have too. So leaving Paimon shows how much he trusts Xiao and trusts the idea that he won't need the communication aid with Xiao. A thought that is proven correct when Aether doesn't have to say anything for Xiao to still understand what he means. Something Aether really only has with Paimon.

This is the end of their private conversation. So I'd like to once again point out how big a deal these private interactions are. Mihoyo decided to pause the entire epilogue to have Traveler go have a private conversation with one character. They could have picked any character in the room. Hell we don't even get a private conversation with Venti. Instead they decided the closest character to traveler, other than Paimon, was Xiao. Said conversation was just the both of them checking how the other was feeling about the seemingly stressful dinner. Showing concern for the other the entire time. Something you could argue we didn't need to see. We didn't gain any large information about the world or the characters in it. It was just a quiet conversation between to friends discussing how stressful family dinners can be.

They come back to the dinner seeming more relaxed. But continue sharing silent glances together as Venti rambles on about Zhongli. Xiao looking over to Aether for input and Aether's answer just being a shake of his head. Like you really don't want to bother stepping in. (god i wish i knew how to make gifs)

They play hot potato about who should light the incense. Xiao of course is the person to pick traveler. Stating he's the most distinguished guest, as everyone there knows him. Of course we see Aether's internal monologue as he puts together Xiao's about to point to him. Which is the cutest thing.

Eventually Aether picks Paimon to which everyone agrees. With Xiao's only comment being that he trusts the traveler's judgement. No surprise there Xiao.

After the dinner wraps up Zhongli once again points out Aether's unique bond with Xiao. That most people struggle to approach Xiao. But Aether has over come this and become his friend regardless.

Xiao ends up turning down the offer to explore the city. But unlike the first lantern rite where we only got him to the bridge or Xiangling's cook off where he stayed by the docks. Xiao did manage a few hours in the city which is a huge step up. But he's also able to tell where his limit is and steps back before he gets overwhelmed. Xiao of course thanks Aether for his help with that. And Aether insists Xiao doesn't have to thank him every time. Which Xiao excepts along with agreeing to a "next time". Whether that's a meal in the city or a large social gathering Xiao at least agreed to do it again with Aether.

And finally after it all. Xiao offers to eat the extra Tofu with us while listening to stories about the mortal world. Implying that no it doesn't have to be a special occasion or an emergency. Aether can hang out with Xiao when ever and talk about the most mundane things. And Xiao will be there to listen.

It's just so sweet. Xiao's bond with traveler really is something else and it's been so cool to watch it grow from that first lantern rite to this. huxley: honestly im not really sure. he could be one of those people who switch mains every day- bro is unpredictable-

caelum: YAOYAO. HE IS A YAOYAO MAIN. lighthearted yaoyao and the sweetheart caelum. it’s perfect. but before yaoyao came out he played traveler because he likes that the traveler helps everyone.

kody: he doesnt play. he thinks genshin is stupid. but hes so stupid so it cancels out like pemdas.

ollie: KLEE. as erik said “it’s not about winning its about having fun” and ollie is the time of his LIFE playing klee. ITS A CHILD WHO COMMITS ARSON.

Basically during a fight he gets thrown through a portal to teyvat with no way out on his end

Khaji is dormant for a while, so he's mostly on his own

He settles into liyue and gets a primary job as yanfei's law partner and does odd jobs just for extra mora on the side

He travels sometimes, but he can be content a little, given that he gets a grasp on how teyvat works and how theres not really targetted dimensional travel

He gets a vision, his ambition of practicing law carrying over, and he would basically be like a anemo claymore yanfei, if that makes sense, if he were in the game his stacks would carry over and become yanfei's stacks if that would even work idk im just brainrotting

He's kinda an oddity but not really as known as a traveler as much as, well, the Traveler

He's just vibing and surviving until the justice league notice and pinpoint him and collect him jaja

Jaime's main team is cyno, yanfei, chevrus, and lisa, and in coop it's just cyno and yanfei

Jason's main team is navia, nahida, kokomi, and hu tao, in coop it's chevrus and hu tao

Half the time jason brute forces with just navia and since he has her built it works

Jason goes to jaime's world while jaime's farming scarabs and he just hears gunshots as jason mows down sumpter beasts while farming meat bc surprise, jason loves cooking in genshin

Jason's favorite area is flueve sindre and jaime's favorite is between port ormos and chenyu vale

They absolutely take the boat rides in chenyu vale together in coop

My 4.1 pulls recap

The main event...

Oh my gooddddd, 4.1 marks as the craziest patch I have ever pulled! Not because I had it hard, instead, I got everything pretty much easy. Way too easy for my luck! 😭 I had planned on pulling for a Fontaine character after I got Yelan. Lyney didn't interest me because I wanted to have tall male characters, so when Neuvillette was announced to be playable the next patch, I immediately pre-farmed for him.

4.1 finally came yesterday, and I went live on Youtube to pull for him and hopefully his signature weapon. And despite being at 0 pity and on 50:50, it seems like Neuvi was really flirting with me because he came without force!

He came home in just 30 pulls! And mind you, I wasn't really aware of his splash art silhouette so my reaction was delayed cuz I didn't know it was him! 😭 The surprise didn't even stop there. I went to the weapon banner started pulling. I was at pity 3 and also on 50:50 cuz my last win was LoFI. But in just 30 pulls, it came! My heart almost jumped out of the window cuz it was almost too impossible for me to be so lucky!

The accident...

So when I knew that there was a new 4* weapon from Fontaine that not only it looks like the AoT Survey Corps' weapon, it also has hp% stats, I wanted to get it for Layla. I tried pulling for a couple more but turns out the RNG god decided to bless me again.

Lmaooooo what is this game trying to tell me? 😂 Neuvi got his weapon again and Hu Tao, the one character that I never use, finally gets her signature weapon after 2 years? I can't believe that I finally got Homa because it's one of the best weapon in the game and back then I could only dream of it. Now my Hu Tao match with her weapon!

Like I said, 4.1 is gonna go down in history as the craziest patch I've ever played because I was blessed with so much luck with my pulls. I hope this doesn't mean that my artifact luck is gonna be trash lol.

At what point did you realise you wanted to C6 your favourite 5-Stars? Do you have any advice when it comes to saving for future constellations?

i mean prob as soon as i understood the whole constellations thing and that u usually dont c6 5stars just for fun? idk how to put this KJABSCK its jsut, idk if i can call it a habit, but i have this thing for literal years where i put extra work into my fav characters.

back in SO4 days i leveled only my fav char to 255 while i kept the rest at 200. in fgo i also grailed only my fav chars all the way and maxed their skills and pulled for np. in genshin when i understood constellations and had my fav characters very clear (which was childe to many peoples surprise prob, bc everyone thought id go for zhongli on my first time) i just decided to myself i wanna pull their constellations ajbsk (childe was really nice to me bc he had his banner shortly after i started playing and came home twice <3)

its jsut this, "i love this character so much and i wanna make them the strongest/give them the best stuff/make them pop out from the rest" thing that i have going on for years

anw childe and zhongli are my absolute favs/mains so was pretty clear to me alr that i wanna max them where i can, get their best stuff etc etc

but once i finish childe c6 some time, ill prob do xiao and hu tao constellations next since theyre also my faves

for advice..........hmmmm, this is kinda the reason why i keep an eye on leaks and proper banner speculations or hyv drip marketing in general. i avoid story related stuff or new characters appearances as much as i can (some are very hard to avoid, like my entire tl is filled with kaveh by now tho idc much about it anymore i guess?) but i keep an eye on upcoming banners and reruns so i can plan rolls/saving pulls. its prob difficult to do for ppl who strictly avoid leaks of any kind so the drip marketing might be better to prepare for the next versions new banner and think about your rolls?

this is just how i plan rolls etc so idk what to say as advice (and i suck at advice jacbk) tho theres one thing that i just wanna say in general:

dont "build pity" for upcoming characters by pulling on a random banner, how often had i friends "accidentally" get the event 5star and complain about it then ahhhhhh. just save your primo pls ! <3

#the only reason my zhongli is c6 before childe is bc he had more reruns in all the time i played than childe had (only 2 iirc)#also idc that childes constellations are bad compared to others like xiao lmfao i pull out of love and im gonna make my childe the best BYE #not vagueing anyone just random ppl i saw in comments here and there call childe bad #anw lemme think more about this maybe some advice or thoughts will pop in later #idk if this was helpful in any way sry waa #reply

I think...I think I'm going to summon for hu tao. Doing the spiral abyss made me realize that I need stronger characters and my yanfei is not enough 🥺. I need more powarrrrr.

What characters do you have, who's in your main party? While it is true that characters such as Xiao and Hu Tao were made to do big pp damage but any character can be epic if built correctly. My Kazubaby for example can do over 22k with his little jump, sometimes even more. Artifacts and weapons are EVERYTHING, and talents are important too. ALTHOUGH I remember being bored and building Yun Jin as a joke and she surprised me how good her damage was despite her talents only being level 1.

Save up for her, she's worth it, but I'm curious about your team!

At first glance, you wouldn't think Kaeya was the touchy-feely type but under all the charisma and flirtatiousness, he was a bit of a sweetie. Not many people got the chance to see this side of him but you frequently saw it. Kaeya had a soft spot for you. He was also quite the protector. You were precious and delicate in his eyes and it broke him to see you injured. One of his favorite things to do was joining you on your adventures. He always said he didn't have much else to do that day but really he wanted to make sure you didn't get hurt.

You walked out of the Knights of Favonius Headquarters with Kay by your side. You side-eyed him, your eyes narrowing at the man beside you.

"Don't you have work you should be doing?" you asked

"Oh? Are you trying to get rid of me?” he teased, “I thought you'd want to spend more time with your amazing boyfriend."

"I do but I don't want to keep you from your work."

"You're not keeping me from anything important, I promise.”

To Kaeya that wasn't too much of a lie. He found most of the work he had on his desk rather boring and unimportant. But to be honest, nothing was more important than you. You took his words at face value and believed him. You two continued to walk towards the Mondstadt gates. Your mind was focused on the commissions you had lined up for the day. You didn't realize but a slight frown had made its way onto your face.

"What's on your mind, sweetheart?" Kaeya asked

"Ah, I'm just hoping I can get through these commissions today without many injuries,” you let out an embarrassed laugh

"No need to worry. No one will be messing with you today.”

Kaya wouldn't let anyone touch his baby. He'd have to be dead to let that happen.

Childe loves to talk about you to whoever will listen (as long as he trusts them) and one thing he'll always bring up is how you always can reenergize him. He can be at the lowest of low points and you can bring him back to normal in an instant.

Childe had a rather rough day — his mission went exceptionally poorly and he got reprimanded for it despite cleaning the whole problem up by himself. He trudged home, the thought of a nice shower and his warm bed keeping him going. You heard the front door open and close rather loudly. You peeked your head out from the kitchen.

"Childe, is that you?"

He didn't respond. He just walked into the kitchen and you could immediately tell something was wrong. You wordlessly pulled him into a hug. He buried his face in the crook of your neck and his arms tightly wrapped around your waist. He breathed in your scent and just relished your touch. The tension that had built up In his shoulders slowly eased up until he was feeling calmer.

"Did you eat yet?"

"No, I didn't have time," he mumbled into your neck

"Well,” you pulled away from him a bit, "Why don't you go wash up and I'll make you something, ok?”

He nodded, a small smile gracing his lips. You pecked his lips and shooed him off to the bathroom. Even after only getting a small bit of affection Childe felt a burst of every in his body. He felt like he could take on the world and then some. But he'd just settle with taking shower and ending the night with you in his arms.

One of Zhongli’s favorite moments with you is when you visit him at work. Normally, he was fine with spending his days working diligently in his office at the funeral parlor but somedays he couldn't seem to keep his attention on the papers covering his desk. Many thoughts plagued his mind keeping his focus on anything but his work. He loved when you came to visit him, especially on days like this. A soft smile would adorn his face when he saw you peek through his office door.

"To what do I owe this surprise?”

"I thought I'd bring you some lunch,” you placed some wrapped up food onto his desk

"You are far too kind to me, my love.”

The two of you indulged in the delicous food from Liuli Pavilion while shaving stories and thoughts. Zhongli even asked you to stay longer which was a little out of the ordinary, not that you minded. You loved spending time with your boyfriend.

"Come sit with me, my dear.”

Zhongli took your hand and gently pulled you over to him. He pushed himself away from the desk so there was just enough room for you to sit on his lap. You happily plopped down atop his thighs. His arms wrapped around your middle keeping you close to him. He pressed a kiss to your shoulder. He held you on his lap as he went back to work. Your presence alone could pull him out of his own head. Your company brought a sense of peace to what was a tension filled room. He may have been the Geo Archon but you were his rock.

Thoma is a very busy man and sometimes he worries he doesn't get to give you all the attention you deserve. So some of his favorite moments with you is when you join him on his daily tasks. It's a simple thing but he loves it emensly.

Thoma wasn't expecting you to be up when he woke up but he definitely wasn't upset with seeing your smiling face beside him as he awoke.

"So, I was thinking," you said as you played with his blond hair that was sticking up in all directions, "I have a free day today so I was hoping I could accompany you as you worked today."

"Yes of course baby!" he grinned widely

There was always something about having you with him that made his day less boring. You brought a light and excitement to his usually menial tasks. He loved having you around. He also loved nearing the whispers about how cute Thoma and his sweet partner were. It made his insides all bubbly.

"Come on let's take a little break.”

Thoma ushered you into one of tearooms of the Komore Teahouse. He left momentarily but returned with food for the both of you. He prepared a plate for you and slid it over to you. You thanked him and began to eat.

"I love days like this," Thoma let out a content sigh, “The day just goes by so much faster when you're around."

"Oh yeah?”

“Yes! You're just so nice to be around and you brighten up everyone's day!”

You smiled widely and took his hand in yours. You gave his hand a slight squeeze.

"Then maybe I should join you more frequently.”

Thoma’s face lit up. He brought your hand up to his lips kissing the back of your hand as he kept his eyes locked with yours.

"I'd love it very much if you did."

you woke up with one thought in mind

so now here you were, standing on the cliffs behind liyue, trying to figure out a way onto the jade chamber

you’ve done it before, but it seems your usual route wouldn’t be adequate tonight

you partially guessed it was because ningguang wanted to give you a challenge

so instead of simply using your anemo abilities to make the wind carry you softly to her balcony

you hijacked the plaustrite platform that is used by almost everyone to get to the chamber

the usual guards weren’t there, and ningguang won’t get mad at you for it, right?

once aboard, you try your best to not make noise opening the door

seriously, who made this thing so heavy?

after trying (and failing) to get the door open, you decide there is only one option

crab walk your way to ningguang’s balcony

there is a slight border that surrounds most of the building

so if you’re really careful and use your tiptoes, you should be able to get there without falling to your doom

and even if you were to fall, anemo vision, duh

so you slowly scale the side of the building

you managed to only slip once, by misplacing your foot

you lead her out to the balcony and sit on the edge, feet dangling over liyue

you let yourself fall off the edge, using the wind to catch you

as you approach wanmin restaurant you notice that..it is closed

but there are two bowls and a note on the table next to the door

Shooting Stars (Childe x Fem!Reader)

note: honestly, no one asked for this. this is obviously self-indulgent, but god FUCK do i love that ginger fatui man so much.

"Careful now."

Childe's voice was calming, much like the gust of wind that blew past your hair. You saw his hand in front of you and you gladly grasped it, heart racing at the idea of falling to your death. The wind was calm and the air was refreshing, but there was nothing light about the pit in your stomach screaming at you to just carefully glide back down to the foot of the mountain you two were climbing.

"You aren't going to die, dear." He laughed, amused at the sight of your face.

"And what if I do? Childe, this isn't funny!" Your knees were planted firmly on one of the floating rocks just above Qingyun Peak. You grimaced at how the moss scraped against your bare knees, but you felt paralyzed with fear at the thought of falling because you knew better than to trust your clumsy nature.

"I'm not letting you fall. Trust me!" The genuine concern and reassurance in his voice was masked with his charming playfulness, and you couldn't help but sigh and stand up to follow him up to the floating island up ahead.

Childe requested to occupy your entire day earlier that morning, saying something about him showing you a beautiful sight that's sure to take your breath away. You agreed, entertaining his idea of a beautiful sight. After sparring with him in the golden house, eating a sumptuous lunch at Wanmin Restaurant, then sparring with him again, you two headed over to Qingyun Peak. The sun was about to set, and your eyes were mesmerized by how the purple hues above your head covered the entirety of Liyue.

The golden hour was nearly over, and here you were, scared out of your mind, with Childe leading you up a path of floating rock chunks that you were sure would collapse if two of you stepped on one at the same time. However, much to your surprise, they didn't.

"I've got you, okay?" Your companion's voice rang in your ears, and you didn't notice that he stepped down from his current platform to take his rightful place beside you. His right hand was still holding yours, and he used his free hand to rub gentle circles on your lower back to comfort you. You breathed in his scent- a mix of dried sweat and blood with a hint of his perfume clinging to the fabric of his collar. It was a familiar scent, something that soothed you despite being thousands of feet in the air with no stable architecture to calm your nerves. You just had to trust that the Adepti architectures knew what they were doing when they built this pavilion.

"Okay," You whispered to him.

Surprisingly, the climb was easier than you initially expected. It did help that Childe was almost carrying you the rest of the way, but leaning into him was inevitable and unavoidable. It wasn't because you wanted to be buried deeper into his chest while he held you close to the point that the exposed skin on your lower back was starting to burn because his clothed fingers were just lingering there. No, definitely not that. You were simply prioritizing your safety.

"See? It wasn't that hard, right?"

"You could have told me that we'd be heading to the pavilion. I could have mentally prepared myself for the climb."

"Mentally prepare? I'm quite sure that clinging onto me the whole time put you at ease, hm?" You wanted to wipe the smug grin off his pretty face.

"Shut up before I make you, fatui."

He let out a hearty laugh, throwing his head back and clutching his sides.

"You're honestly too adorable for your own good." He stepped closer and moved the hair out of your face as you felt another strong breeze blow by.

"I said shut it!" You felt a rush of heat spread across your cheeks as his eyes scanned your flustered figure.

"Here, take a seat." He motioned to the stone seat facing the sunset. "I did tell you that I'd show you a beautiful sight tonight."

"I trust your taste, so it better be worth it."

"When have I ever lied to you?"

You shot him a look. As you were about to open your mouth to speak, he quickly interjected with a defeated sigh.

"Don't even answer that." You could only chuckle as he sat down beside you, inching closer and closer until your shoulders were brushing against each other. This wasn't really the first time that you and him have been this close with each other.

You and Childe have a... complex relationship, simply put. It's not like you were dating, but the way he treated you- with respect, with care, with love; You wanted to melt in his arms as easily as you could fight him with your sword. You weren't really sure if Childe had romantic feelings for you because he never really talked about it, but you could only go off on his actions, and they directed to the one conclusion that he did have feelings for you.

However, as your former partner in research, Albedo, once said, "Do not assume unless stated otherwise. Logic and officiality back facts as much as they debunk assumptions." In reality, it was so easy to understand. Theoretically, it was easier. However, now that you were there in that position where all signs pointed to Childe having romantic feelings for you, you didn't know what to believe in.

Did you want to trust your gut instinct, or did you want to wait until Childe made it official and clear? It was a mindboggling situation for you because you also found yourself enamored by him.

Why... Why were you even enamored in the first place?

Maybe it was because you adored how he talked about his family. You could just listen to him for hours on end as he fondly tells you the tales of his adventures with Tonia, Anthon, and Teucer. It was the way that his deep cerulean eyes lit up whenever you asked about short anecdotes about his family that he could comfortably share with you. He adored his family so much that it made you feel... jealous. Aether was your only family, and you were still on the pursuit to finding him, so you were envious of how Childe could still visit his family back in Snezhnaya if he wanted to. You? You weren't even sure if your brother was still in Teyvat.

Maybe it was how he always tended to your wounds after each time you sparred. Although Childe claims that he's nothing more than a bloodthirsty hound who wishes for nothing but power and glory, he really can't stand seeing you with an open wound or a bleeding nose. While Childe is primarily the reason behind your injuries, he'd also be the first to bring you gauzes, band-aids, and medicine from Bubu Pharmacy. You'd always be touched since he tends to you first before he paid any mind to the bruises and cuts that adorned his skin.

"Your health is my priority, comrade. After all. who else could match my skills in combat if not you? That's why you better take care of yourself, or better yet, allow me to take care of you instead." His words echoed in your head, and you blushed, realizing the possible implications of his statement.

Maybe it was his surprisingly sharp memory. Though Childe could never compare to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's Consultant, Zhongli, he would often shock you at how he remembered things so well- especially when it came to you. One time, for your birthday, he bought you a necklace with your birthstone as the main gem adorning the fabric. You only ever mentioned your birthday once, and it was at an awkward moment during Hu Tao's birthday celebration, that's why you didn't think Childe would remember it at all.

"I pay attention to you more than you think, dear. I also happen to store things in my memory bank if they're that important to me." You remembered how he laughed as he insisted on putting the necklace on for you. Your hand instinctively latched on to the beautiful gem resting on your chest.

Maybe it was the way he called for your name. Whether he said your name in a battle cry, as a greeting, or in the middle of him teasing you, you were absolutely intoxicated with the way that your name rolled off his tongue. The way the syllables just always seemed so right when it was Childe who spoke them. Often, he would call you comrade, dear, or another endearing nickname he managed to create on the fly. However, when he spoke your name, it was always magical for you.

"Happy birthday, dear _____. I hope you enjoy this present!"

"It seems as though you've defeated me today. No matter, _____. I'm sure I'll triumph over you tomorrow."

"You look lovely as always, _____. Want to spar with me?"

"_____."

You were snapped out of your little daze. Your name being called over and over again wasn't just a hallucination caused by your infatuation with the eleventh harbinger. He was actually calling for you.

"Hey, _____? Are you feeling okay?" You blinked a few times before you realized that his blue eyes were practically puncturing your own. They were glazed over with concern, a sign that he had been calling you for a while now.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry!" You jolted, straightening your posture. "I was just fascinated by the sky, is all. I didn't mean to startle you."

"The sky, you say? Were you really thinking of the sky? Perhaps you were thinking about me instead?" His tone was teasing, a little more relaxed now that he knew you weren't feeling ill.

"The sunset was lovely. Although I see it everyday in Liyue Harbor, viewing it from up here in the pavilion is truly sensational. Thank you, Childe." You spoke, ignoring his attempt at riling you up. Of course, you were also ignoring the fact that he hit the nail right on the head with his guess.

"You didn't deny it, girlie." His voice was like a melody in your ears, a sweet harmony that made you feel elated. Anyway, why would you deny it? You were a woman of principle, which means you detested lying. It doesn't count as lying if you neither confirmed nor denied his guess, right? Right, keep telling yourself that.

"Don't flatter yourself." Your curt reply was met by another laugh.

"It should be anytime now," His words met the wind and your unknowing ears.

"What is?"

"Let's just wait for a few moments. I took you up here to see something more than just the sunset, after all." He gave you a wink, to which you just huffed and turned your crimson face.

A few moments passed, and Childe was already bouncing his leg up and down; Something you knew he only did when he was anxious or frustrated about something.

"Is something the matter?" You asked, watching his face grimace.

"Ah, perhaps my predictions were wrong." He stood up to stretch. "We were supposed to see something more than just the sunset, but perhaps Celestia just didn't want our little date to go as smoothly as I initially planned."

Hang on.

Date?

This was a date?

Your heart was racing and your mind began to fill itself with unanswered questions, but Childe knew better than to keep you waiting more than you already were.

"Hey, darling?" Your stomach dropped at the use of this nickname. "Do me a favor. Focus on the sky and don't look away until I say so."

You gave him a nod, unable to form the words that would suffice as a comprehensible sentence. He had you tongue-tied with just a simple nickname.

He walked away from where you were seated, just a few paces to your right and a couple of steps back. He was far enough to the point where you couldn't see him in your peripheral, but close enough for you to hear the jiggling of the adornments and chains on his clothes. You knew that sound even if it came from a mile away. You had it memorized by heart because of how many times you heard it before your sparring sessions began.

He took out his bow and was aiming to shoot an arrow.

Admittedly, there was a little voice at the back of your mind warning you about the potential danger just a couple of feet away from you. However, you decided to fight against it, knowing that the "potential danger" was just Childe. He'd never hurt you, right?

Despite the trust that you put in the ginger, you still closed your eyes as you heard him release the string of his bow. The quiet whizz of the arrow flew by your head, and when you realized that he wasn't shooting at you, you carefully opened your eyes to see a bright blue arrow shooting across the sky.

Your mouth went agape at the consecutive hydro-infused arrows flying across the velvet sky bedazzled with stars. The moon's glow illuminated the scenery, which made the setting all the more romantic and intimate. The vibrant hues of green and blue mixed with each other in the sky, creating an aurora borealis.

You were marveling at the number of arrows crossing the sky.

They were like shooting stars, except... they reminded you of Childe.

Though you knew they were only faux shooting stars, you closed your eyes.

"Archons, if you could be so kind, please allow me to be with him." You whispered to yourself.

You then opened your eyes to see the last arrow slowly fading away from your vision, and the hydro vision holder you loved so much sheepishly standing in front of you.

"I thought that the shooting stars would be visible tonight, that's why I asked you to come with me up here. Turns out my predictions were wrong. Maybe Scaramouche was right about the stars being a lie." He laughed, rubbing the back of his neck.

You giggled and looked at him, signaling to continue what he had to say.

"Although they were fake, I hope you liked them. I brought you here so that we could wish on the shooting stars together." His face was growing red, and you wanted to run up and hug him, if only your pride would stop getting the best of you.

"I loved them, Childe. Thank you for asking me out here today." You stood up and gave his hair a light ruffle, laughing at how he mocked you for doing so.

"So, what did you wish for?" He asked, taking a few steps closer to you.

"W-Well, uh," You began to stumble on your words, which caused you to involuntarily take a step back. With each step you took, Childe did too.

"Hmm?"

He managed to back you up against the pillar in the middle of the pavilion, and was enjoying the face you made as he trapped you between his arms.

"F-For good health! Yes, good health!" Yes, lying was against your principles, but you couldn't just say straight to his face that you wished for a relationship with him now, could you?

"Good for you then. You wanna know what I wished for?" His face came extremely close to yours, and you could feel his breath on your cheek.

"Wh-What is it?"

"You."

Your eyes once again met his deep blue orbs and they softened when he was staring straight into your soul.

"Can I kiss you?"

You gave a light nod, and he finally closed the gap between your lips.

Albedo was wrong.

You can definitely believe an assumption if the signs were obvious enough.
