Imagine if darlin entered the Shaw pack as a child instead of a preteen/teen.
6 year old darlin being introduced to the other kids of the pack and being seen as so cool for having lived in another state as if they just moved from another country.
Their family being begged come to everything from barbecues to birthday parties to movie nights by children and then being whisked away by the other children.
Darlin going to spend holidays and some summers in Washington and being asked to write or send a postcard.
Darlin with thick as thieves friends who stand up for them when school starts and older kids try to make fun of them or exclude them for being new.
Darlin and the other pack children mimicking pack runs before they can shift, everyone giggling and chasing each other around.
Darlin who has a sibling relationships with almost all the other kids, being seen as the cool older sibling figure to younger children.
Said younger children following them around and calling them ‘my sibling’ even though they aren’t related.
Darlin who just has a good life in the Shaw pack.

I decided to choose violence today and give y’all a somewhat sad Darlin/David headcanon
David usually visits Gabe’s grave during the day and Darlin knows this so they only visit at night.
When Darlin visits they bring new flowers for his grave and take the dead flowers so when David visits he doesn’t have to worry about changing them himself.
Darlin thinks David doesn’t know it’s them but one time David decided to visit Gabe’s grave late at night and seen Darlin talking to his grave while changing the flowers.
David never brought it up to Darlin because he doesn’t want them to feel embarrassed.
But, secretly Darlin want to visit Gabe’s grave with David but is to shy to ask. David feels the same way but doesn’t think Darlin would want to.

Ok but consider that SH just can casually pick anyone in the pack up. Like Milo knows this, he's a victim; Angel knows this cuz they jump in SH's arms all the time, but the rest of the pack doesn't know this.
They find out when Asher asks them to lift him cuz he wants to know if they can. They can, easy peasy. Christian gets snuck up on and they lift from behind. David doesn't say shit but for a hot second, he realises he's not on the ground and is actually being carried around by SH like he's a goddamn sack of cotton.

I’m trying to come to terms with my own leg problems and use of mobility aids so… have some post Inversion Christian headcanons.
He was just conscious enough after the barrier came down to process that he was likely to lose his leg. When he woke up hours later, still laid out on a cot in the recovery area past the practice fields, he was crying before he even opened his eyes.
He spent a long time after he woke up just staring at his leg, taking in the fact that it was still, somehow, there.
He has nightmares about the moment it happened. He can still recall, when he closes his eyes, the exact color of the muscle in his calf, how his bone shined through white and clean where his flesh peeled back. When he dreams, he dreams about the moment that the claws of that stupid fucking Shade sliced through his leg like butter.
He has scratches on his fibula from the thing’s claws. It cut down to his bone. If Arden hadn’t caught it between her teeth just a second after it hit him, it would have carved his leg into slices like bread.
Even after being healed, his leg has deep, twisting scars. They’re hard to look at and painful, pinching his skin in hard divots. When David saw it for the first time, he started barking for somebody to heal him. He was informed that this was as healed as Christian was likely to ever get.
He, like most of the members of the pack, spent two weeks after the Inversion at the Shaw house. He slept through most of it on David’s living room couch next to Ash, his leg elevated by a handful of throw pillows. Arden, who managed to get out of the Inversion with a handful of bruises and a minor concussion, slept on the floor next to him, fitfully waking to check on him every few hours.
The damage is centered in the middle of his leg, affecting both his thigh and his shin. That spread of damage means that his knee was affected. The joint isn’t ruined by any means, he can still bend his knee but has lost a lot of mobility with it. He can’t straighten or lock it entirely and can only bend it so far. He can’t squat down or crawl. The knee doesn’t hold his weight very well, and tends to start to buckle after a few hours of being up.
Amanda hasn’t called Christian since she heard about what happened, but she gets semi-frequent updates on how he’s doing from Arden. She can’t bring herself to speak to him knowing how much he’s changed, knowing that she can never understand.
He refused to go to physical therapy until David dragged him. He doesn’t do the at home activities unless David makes him. Now, at least twice a week, David asks him to come and work out with him. Really, they just do PT stretches. Neither of them talk about it.
After a few months, he can see in the tread of his work boots that he favors his left foot. For some reason, when he notices that for the first time, it makes him cry.
His doctor recommends that he uses a cane. The way that he limps puts strain on his joints and his other leg is starting to show ware from holding most of his weight. For a month after buying one, it sits untouched, propped up by his door. He stares at it every time he goes to leave his apartment.
Eventually, it’s Asher who gets him to use it. He brings over a pack of stickers from the dollar store, snags the cane, and absolutely covers it. What was once a sterile, metallic cane is now covered in dinosaur stickers. Asher informs Christian that if he doesn’t start using the cane, Ash is going to start carrying him around like a bride.

"Laveau, how much angst did you give your darlin?" Good question! Here's an answer pt. 1
Tags: discussion death of parental figures, childhood rejection, not canon compliant, angst got dialled up to 11, this was all made pre-reveal of the canon timeline, Highschool!David/Darlin, just be prepared to understand that I put my darlin through some shit.
Darlin who turns 13 and finds out they're a shifter. Their local department branch threatens to take them from their parents if they cannot find a pack. Their parents pack some bags and go looking
Darlin who was rejected from every other pack because they were seen as too much of a liability to be introduced to any pack. Packs either couldn't accept new shifters, didn't want to train a humanborn shifter, didn't want to accept an autistic child into the pack or simply made up excuses not to take Darlin in.
Darlin who watches their parents struggle with getting them into a pack, driving from state to state, trying to learn about magic and keep their child safe as they search for a place to help them develop as a shifter.
Darlin who leanred to use their magic on their own at a young age so they weren't a burden to potential packs who could take them in.
Darlin whose parents, Darius and Renko Lancer fought tooth and nail with Gabe Shaw and Frank Talbot to get their kid into a pack despite not being empowered.
Darlin whose family is accepted and took up residence at the edge of pack territory in a log cabin. They make it work
Darlin who's introduced to the pack at 15, it has been two years since Darren Lancer first found out he was a shifter and he is better at using his magic than most of the adults in the pack. He is seen as a prodigy and they quickly make friends with David, Milo and Asher. They are finally given a place to be themselves and have friends.
Darren has stayed with the pack for six months when they get the call during class that their parents were involved in an accident in their home. He runs home immediately and sees the scene. They learn that a rival pack attacked their home for being too close to their territory at the boundary of the shaw pack. Their parents fu=ought back and were killed in the incident. The department promises to look into the matter. The case runs cold.
Darren stays a month in his parents' cabin after their deaths. Nothing was touched. Darren has not cleaned it since their parents died. There is dried blood in some spots where the department did not reach. The smell of iron fills Darren's lungs and he has not been to school since. There are rumours about Darren spread by some of the adults of the pack. They think Darren has broken psychologically, they think that Darren is sick and they eventually call the authorities to have Darren taken out of the pack and placed in foster care. It is not successful and Gabe Shaw intervenes.
A week after, Darren is placed under the care of Marie and Colm Greer. He is not officially adopted and has refuted the option of adoption. He is sixteen when he arrives into their home, his birthday passed and he didn't tell anyone. He instead spent it alone, cleaning his parents' cabin.
Darren Lancer gets into a fight with Christian after he takes their dad's jacket from them to put it to wash. He has a broken nose and a scar on his chest. The pack disapproves of their actions and threatens removal. Gabe however shows Darren how to clean and maintain leather jackets 1 month and 2 weeks after the death of their parents.
The department has Darren in holding after they were caught fighting with the rival pack that attacked their parents. Five wolves have had their limbs mangled and may not walk well again, Two wolves are in critical condition and a wolf is too traumatised to give testimony. They are found out to be the same wolves that attacked Darren's parents and Gabe intervenes to keep Darren out of trouble 1 month 3 weeks after the death of their parents.
Marie scolds Darren and admits them into therapy. Darren and Milo grow closer as a result of Colm's bad habits worsening. A month after the death of their parents, as marie cries alone in the kitchen, Darren sits next to her and hugs her. 2 months after feeling robbed, Darren feels connected to the Greers.
Darren starts to learn guitar and music as an outlet after being suggested by his therapist. Marie reminds Milo and Darren to keep it down a few nights but she's glad to see that they're getting along better. Darren rejoins pack meetings and social gatherings with the pack 3 months after the death of their parents. David makes friends with them much to the disapproval of the rest of the pack's adults. Gabe invites Darren over for dinner.
4 months after, Darren is officially dating David Shaw. Gabe invites Darren over again, and again, and again. Marie has taught Darren how to cook, clean and how to trust. She has taught him how to defend himself emotionally and physically. Gabe has taught Darren how to run free in the forests nearby as a wolf, he's taught Darren how to tussle and David is there to learn with him. Milo, David and Asher invite Darren to hang out regularly. Milo and Asher feign disgust seeing them kiss but they're glad seeing them both happy. David says he loves them and Darren isn't shy to say it too.
Darren turns 17 and David asks him to senior prom. It's one of the best nights he's had. They dance with Milo and pull stunts with Asher but the final dance is reserved for David before they leave the dance and spend the rest of the night together. It's been 5 months and Darren feels at peace.

Okay so this is the most stupid thing ever that makes no sense, but I’ve been thinking about like what if redacted audio existed in the redacted-verse. I was thinking about who the characters would listen to, if they would listen. Think of it like this is the character I would recommend to the redacted audio characters.
So I’m gonna rant abt that. Feel free to offer your suggestions and who you think the characters would like!
David: I don’t think David would be the type to listen to boyfriend asmr at all. So while Guy or Asher would be an obvious answer for that, I think he wouldn’t want to view any of these characters in a romantic light. If he did listen he would be the type of listener to imagine the listener is a separate character from him entirely. So I think his favorite character would be someone he can enjoy from a character standpoint outside of the romance audio. To that I choose Damien! I think David would be able to relate to him in the way he throws himself at things and his work, and I also feel like David would admire Damien’s strong sense of Justice.
Asher: Now a super easy answer I could go with would be David. Unlike David, Asher would love a character that embodies traits of David just as much in fiction as he does in real life. He would kick his feet and twirl his hair over David’s audios. So David is definitely an answer for Ash, but I feel like it’s too easy. Maybe Aaron? I mean he does have that whole tsundere, dom vibe that Asher could fuck with. I think that’s the closest I’m getting here.
Milo: oh god Milo… who would he like?? Oh wait! Gavin yup. Gavin has the just right amount of like started off as a confident, cocky asshole, to evolving into a sweetheart (no pun intended) who is still a cocky, confident asshole. That’s my final answer for Milo.
Vincent: This one is actually stumping me?? Like… thinking about Vincent’s character and what characters he would like. Maybe Avior? I’m taking shots in the dark here though. If you guys have any ideas then like let me know what you think and why.
Sam: You see… my heart wants to say David, because I think it’s so funny to joke about Sam having a crush on David. But my head, knows that Sam would not put up with the amount of attitude and assholery in David’s first audios to get anywhere near where he is a calm dude. Sam is another one of those characters who I don’t think would really like to romantic aspects of bf asmr, so it’s not up to picking who he would be fictionally romantically compatible with. Hear me out…. Guy. Again Sam isn’t intro eh whole romance thing. Guy is an entertaining listen outside of the romance stuff! Peepaw misses half of the vine references and memes, but regardless Guy’s silly attitude and dramatic demeanor makes him laugh and shake his head affectionately and that is all he needs in this simple life.
Porter: Okay so Porter is a tease. I think he loves to tease and flustered the shit out of people. So you’d think the obvious answer there would be Lasko, but you’d be wrong! He doesn’t just want flustered and that’s the be all end all, I think he would want at least a little pushback. He lives to piss people off. So for that I would go with David and Damien. Also this one might be a little out of character and just my personal interpretation of Porter, but I think that he would like Geordi’s storyline. I think he would like seeing a story where the listener does something bad and toxic but that’s not the be all end all of who they are. A story of someone getting better and actually working on their faults and their partner actively wanting them to change and encouraging them to get help while also uphold in boundaries.
I think this is all I’m gonna do for now. I’ll probably do the DAMN crew next???

So at the end of Damien and Huxleys first Patreon video, Damien- still coming off his high - immediately apologises to Huxley for being "too hot" and explains that "it'll take a while for me to cool off"

🖤 Angel somehow convinced everyone (David, Milo, Ash, Darlin and the mates) to have a movie night where they watched twilight and even though the wolf were reluctant they ended up having very strong opinions on team-Edward vs team-Jacob 🖤
