one thing i absolutely adore about the timeskip is how it gives us details about the characters we didn’t know much about before. like i know this probably isn’t true of EVERY character but looking at how many whose timeskip lives reflect their interests and such in high school (kenma, yachi, osamu, fukunaga, etc) then i’m willing to bet that a lot of the others had those hobbies and whatnot back when we first met them and i think that’s so cute??? like semi being a musician he probably had a guitar or something with him back in the dorms. kai became an arborist so maybe he liked taking walks to look at the trees and visited parks or had his own lil garden. lev and alisa might have played dress-up together when they were kids and could have gone shopping a lot in high school. akaashi became an editor so he was probably a giant bookworm and loved reading. like idk i just think it’s neat how it makes it feel like even in the future when we meet everyone again it really does feel like they’ve grown but haven’t changed at all y’know???

Note
guys hear me out. if the mercs were tf2 animatronics what would their mechanics be
my guy you just gave me an entire AU idea
RED and BLU are rival entertainment companies, both build animatronics that perform at restaurant locations and can be rented, FNAF-style. their animatronics are so similar that one *has* to be ripping off the other, but nobody knows which is the original and which is the copy so people just pick which one they go to based on the color scheme and aesthetic
Scout has two main functions; waiter/server, and entertainer via sports. he has impeccable balance and sure footing, making him perfect for carrying plates and other dishes across a room filled with rambunctious, running children. when it comes to entertaining, he has an entire portion of his memory bank dedicated to just about every major sport in existence. his AI’s pretty good in that if the kids don’t understand some of the rules for a game, he can easily roll with it and come up with rule modifications on the spot to make sure the games are as fun as possible. normal racing is a popular game, especially since Scout’s fast. a lot faster than he lets on.
Solly works as one of multiple story-teller bots, specializing in exciting, action-filled stories- 9 times out of 10, war ones. when he was being built, the poor engineer/mechanic/all-around technician (Miss Pauling) was too sleep deprived to come up with many ideas beyond war stories. Soldier also promotes general physical health, and will usually run through “training exercises” (fit for kids) with everyone in the room after the story is over. a lot of the parents think that only the boys would like Soldier and some of them actively discourage their daughters from visiting him but they’re DUMB. at least half of the crowd of yelling, confidence-boosted cadets is eager young girls raring to fight and prove that they can do anything the boys can. sometimes the kids’ll form teams and play-fight/do a mock war. Solly makes sure that nobody gets injured and everyone knows how to “fight” without actually hurting someone. he knows how to do it perfectly, after all.
Pyro does arts and crafts, sometimes with Demo or Engie. they also, by nature of their mute design, encourage kids to be more understanding of people who don’t talk for whatever reason, which then carries over to being more understanding of anyone not like them. Pyro’s room is by far the most colorful; walls painted like Pyroland, cork boards absolutely littered in drawings the kids have given them, the shelves in his personal room (basically a closet where he goes to deactivate at the end of the day) filled with trinkets the kids made. their room is also connected to a small outside area with a fire pit. it’s nice for kids to relax with him and just watch the fire go. he even has a built-in lighter function in his hands, so he can start up a fire whenever.
Demo is also a story-teller, but his story genres are mystery and mythological/paranormal. he has a specialized voice box that lets him make sound effects, but so that they still sound like a human imitating the sound. his room is one of the most popular ones, though he prefers to wander around the establishment instead of sit in his room when he’s not telling stories. he helps out Pyro with arts and crafts, occasionally, but another way he likes to spend time with the kids is by showing off the medieval weapons (models) he has, and the kids always find it cool. it’s a rather large collection, and the models are quite…accurate.
Engie is, just like his normal tf2 counterpart, good at just about everything and pretty overworked. if animatronics could get stress headaches, he would, although mostly because of his desire to get all of his jobs done perfectly all at once. the jobs in question are musical entertainment, assistant cook, helping with arts and crafts, and helping with maintenance after the place is closed. he can play any strummed string instrument, and has a separate voice box just for singing. he also has extensive knowledge of the inner workings most of the electronic systems in the building; lights, sound systems, fire suppression- but not security. the company doesn’t want to risk him going haywire or getting some kind of malware and then letting thieves and such in. Engie also has an issue with his programming for talking to adults- the speech part of his ai is lacking in that department, so he tends to pull from what he knows for talking to kids, which used to make him come across as condescending at times. by now, though, he’s tweaked it and managed to perfect that polite, disarming tone of voice. he’s very good at it.
Heavy and Sniper’s rooms are connected and are the two designated “quiet rooms”. Heavy also reads to/with the kids and Sniper also tells nature stories, but for the most part they just keep a calm environment. kids with sensory issues, kids who get overstimulated, and even just kids who want to take a nap come to their rooms. there’s plenty of differently textured stuff available if someone needs to ground themselves or just wants to feel a certain texture. as for Heavy and Sniper themselves, they’re very calm and keep their voices low. Sniper makes sure everyone’s doing alright and doesn’t need anything, and Heavy deals with kids that are getting too loud or rambunctious (he’ll guide them out of the room and give them a gentle scolding, then let them back in if they promise to behave). if, for whatever reason, a parent is the one causing the issue, it’s still rather easy to get the parent out of the room(s), especially considering the strength of the two
Medic is the first aid bot, of course. the are a handful of different first aid stations around the building, with buttons to call Medic to them if he’s not there already. something went a little wrong with his personality coding, making him that unhinged man we all know and love, but he’s surprisingly good with kids and filtering what he says to not disturb them. the kids adore him. like Engie, though, he has issues interacting with adults- but instead of pulling from kid interaction info and coming off as condescending, Medic goes off of default, bland, robot interaction and ends up being just…creepy. short, curt speech, a lot of staring (with eyes that are far too observant and watching to be comfortable), and over time it goes from creepy and emotionless to creepy and somewhat hostile. it’s clear he’d rather be anywhere but around the adult. if one is being very insistent on talking to him, he’ll take to tidying up the nearest first aid station, giving a few…specific tools a rather thorough cleaning.
Spy, on the other hand, deals entirely with adults. he greets people at the door, and ensures the adults are at the very least comfortable while their kids have fun. most people question why his face was designed the way it was (with a mask), but…he’s calm, sophisticated, charming, the perfect animatronic for the job and honestly a good conversationalist. so nobody ever bothers to ask. it’s just a design choice, after all. Spy’s second function is assistant security, which has two parts of its own. the first is if a kid gets lost in the admittedly very large building. he’s the one who tracks them down and guides them back to their guardian. the second is helping the night shift guards when the place is closed. on most nights, he just patrols with them and takes care of any issues by following normal protocol. sometimes, though, he can convince the guards to go home and get some rest, and he and some (or all) of the other bots patrol. if someone tries to break in on one of those nights, well…you weren’t expecting to break into the home of nine sentient, semi-malfunctioning robots and get out, were you ?

leo in 5th:  confident, and friendly. usually social butterflies. selfish with their partners, wants all their attention. jolly in the dating world/at the beginning of the relationship. flirting style is physical (confident) or playful (joking around/calling eachother names playfully, etc). shows their partner off. for dates, they seem like they’re down for anything. hobbies may be acting, singing, socializing, partying, painting, taking selfies, social media, etc. probably one of those assholes that play music so loudly/on speakers. their music taste is in good taste. most likely one of your children will have leo/sun in their chart, probably the oldest. confident, overdramatic, energetic, bossy, friendly, etc, since these are the traits of leo. you will shove your kids good traits in other parents faces, or just show them off in general. oldest is most likely going to be a boy. kids will most likely have great health.
5th house ruler in 8th: drive with no destination in mind and see where you end up at. visit an art gallery and kiss in all the empty rooms. have a couple’s massage together. take those cute yet sexy pics in the photo booths. get in the pool or hot tub together. be the first to discover a new bar, band, or attraction together.

scorpio in 7th: you are attracted to the archetype of scorpio. subconsciously, you fear depth, intensity, the dark side, and the unknown. so you attract those who bring depth to your life. at best, they help you embrace your darkness. at worst, they are vindictive, jealous and insecure..
7th ruler in 7th: you are attracted to the archetype of libra. subconsciously, you fear dependency, commitments, and femininity. so you attract those who can embody venusian qualities. at best, they help you love yourself as you are. at worst, they can be superficial or indecisive.
mercury in 7th: very sociable + extroverted, can come to an understanding with anyone, may gravitate towards PR jobs, good at persuading people.
mars in 7th: independent and only do things their way, do not know how to cooperate with others, loves being in relationships, they want an energetic lover to help them deal with difficulties in life.
pluto in 7th: affectionate, intensely emotional in relationships, feels the need to be in relationships and then gets suffocated by them instantly.
8th house: sagittarius and leo placements
sagittarius in 8th: you feel intimately comfortable when your partner accepts your reckless, detached and over-optimistic traits.
8th house ruler in 5th: you feel intimately comfortable when your partner accepts your egotistical, dramatic and childish traits.

Harvey Headcanons
Hi.
TW: Death mention, swearing.
Brief spoilers.
Tumblr media
He's lactose intolerant. IDK he just gives those vibes, y'know? But the man loves milk to death and will drink as much of it as possible. It's still harmful, and he totally shouldn't be consuming it, but his body has it so often the effects of it feel less painful. He's gotten used to it.
He only got glasses recently. Or at least he went a period of not wearing them in favour of contacts. He only switched back to glasses right before the farmer arrived. He didn't really like the contacts anyways. They felt... I dunno how do annoying contacts feel? I don't wear them.
He's only got two friends from university. I'll be honest, he used to be a party pooper for sure. Harvey never got the hype of going out during university. Sure, he sort of wanted to, but he only tried it twice and decided twice was well and truly enough for him. Those two times he went consisted of him standing in the corner freaking out whenever anyone got two close. He ended up doing that thing where you follow your friend around the whole night, except he totally lost him and got scared. Hense how he ended up in the corner.
I feel like the friends' names would be David and something else. David probably studied some physics-lookin' thing or something and Other Guy was probably also in the medical field. Harvey met David through Other Guy and bam friendship formed. They're still good friends and meet up whenever they're all on holidays. It's usually in Zuzu City since David and Other Guy both have jobs there (and they also can't be bothered to get off their arse every once in a while).
Back when he was younger, he didn't have a coffee addiction. He was actually pretty on top of his health, but that grip slipped the further into university he got. I mean, people study a long time to be doctors, right? That's a lot of late-night studying and a hell of a lot of time to slip up. It started with him buying more cheapy-crappy meals, then he started gaining a bit of a dependence on coffee, and then the floodgates opened and everything went downhill.
He was a bit of a rough kid growing up. He lost a few teeth - and not in the normal way. I'm not saying he got into fights or anything. No, he's not a violent person. I mean he was the kind of kid to hit the ball through the window or to fall off the swing and chip a tooth because he demanded to go higher. Thankfully they were all baby teeth.
Despite that, he always dressed formal. I mean, no matter the occasion he had a jacket and tie on. Formal dinner? Jacket and tie. Running for the track team? Jacket and tie. Going swimming? Jacket and tie- okay no not that time. But that attire isn't just a doctor thing.
Actually, speaking of the track team, he used to be a real good runner. I only have this headcanon because I got really confused what the hell his legs were looking like in his Ginger Island sprite. Honestly, he looks like a rotisserie chicken (/lh). Anyways, yeah, he was a real fast runner and shit. He was actually asked to join a few sports during high school but took up studies instead. His skills naturally depleted the less time he spent exercising - hence how he ended up where he is now.
-~-~-
That's all for now. I might reblog this post with more or just make a sequel if I think of anything else. <3

Get to Know Me Tag Game
I was tagged by @sanguinerosie ! thank you!!!
1. are you named after anyone? Partially after my great-grandfather, who passed away before I was old enough to remember him
2. when was the last time you cried? I think after a stress nightmare I had about half a year or so ago
3. do you have kids? no lmfao, not very into the idea of ever having them either
4. what sports do you play/have you played? never played sports but I did jrotc in high school (fell into it freshman year because I had to pick between it or PE and ended up liking it and making a lot of friends through it.) I ended up in charge of academic team and also did a little bit of drill and rifle team senior year
5. do you use sarcasm? p often
6. what’s the first thing you notice about someone? a huge part of my job is triaging people and being the first person to put eyes on a new patient so while I'm listening to history/getting vitals I always pay attention to someone's expression and overall body language when they're meeting me for the first time. so much of my job is constantly meeting new people but I'm an introverted anxious mess outside of work
7. eye color? blue
8. scary movies or happy endings? I love horror but I'm not big on lots of gore or shock value just for the sake of it. I like to be scared by something, not to watch something that's trying its hardest to be as edgy as possible
9. any talents? I can't think of any natural talents because inside I kinda believe I'm overall pretty mid at everything. but for skills/pursued interests/career related talents, I think I've gotten good at making first impressions with people, knowing what to look for when doing assessments in the ER, that I've seen a wide enough spectrum of things to be able to broadly anticipate order sets, and have also picked up enough overall skills to be self-sufficient re: my own labs, IVs, bedside skills/assisting docs, knowing what to grab for this or that, etc. I'm casting a very wide net here but I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm comfortable in my specialty, I get how it works, I like what I'm doing, and it's all a result of putting in the time actually gaining experience to get where I am now. So not "talent" but time I've put into my career.
10. where were you born? the midwest. I went back to visit my mom every year but she passed away almost 2 years ago now. I have more family around there but I don't think I'll be going back as often anymore.
11. hobbies? gaming, music, sci fi, but I also want to get into biking more and start going to local renaissance faires and such to get out more
12. any pets? one cat, she's a polydactyl cat and she chose me as her person since she was a kitten
13. height? 5'8"
14. favorite school subject? biology
15. dream job? I love the ER but one day I'd like to make the jump to a non-bedside job in healthcare for the sake of my own physical and mental health. something like informatics or biomed where I could still apply my experience to work on process improvement or things like that. I absolutely do NOT ever want to teach (at least not nursing)
The game says to tag 15 but I'm gonna tag as many people as I can think of so feel free to participate if you wanna, no pressure! apologies if I miss any mutuals/anyone, this is also an open invitation for you to answer if you want!

hi, i’m Des. i haven’t had an @na/mi@ account since i was probably 14. that was the last time i was thin. all my life i have had weight issues, which i now know are due to PCOS (i’m ftm, have been for 12 yrs). the only 2 times i was ever thin were when i was 9 because i played sports, and when i was 14 because i was r3stricting. i’m 5’6, and i should be somewhere in the 120-150 range to be considered healthy. my lowest was 130 in high school. i’m currently at my highest, somewhere between 250-280. at about 18 i started ballooning, rapidly gaining weight no matter how much i worked out. since then i’ve rel@psed a couple times but it never stuck because i was so scared of being how i was in high school.
back then i was a zombie. due to mental health issues but also because of my ed. i was constantly tired and sad and i wanted to be a skeleton. i preferred being d3@d thin rather than fat and alive. i don’t feel that way anymore. i don’t want to be underw3ight, i don’t want to d!3. i want to be thin, i want to lose.
i’m aware that reverting to this lifestyle and r3stricting isn’t the healthy way to lose. however, it’s the only thing that has worked for me in the past. and i believe it’s the only way to regain my self control. i definitely b!nge sometimes for emotional reasons and i am not okay with that. whenever i’ve tried to diet in a “healthy” way, i fall off of it, or i don’t hold myself accountable enough.
i feel like i’m the type of person where if i say i’ll only eat 1200 cals it turns to 1500. if i say i’ll only eat omad it’ll end up being tmad. so my theory is that i have more than enough to lose, so if my goal is to eat n0thing, i’ll probably fail but still progress.
some things i’m trying to avoid:
• ending up malnourished
i plan on taking vitamins and if i do eat, making sure it’s the right type of food to get me thru my physical job/working out/life.
• my mental health declining
i’ve been working very hard on my mh and i’m not going to throw that away. so i’ll be tracking my moods and modifying what/how much i eat to keep myself stable.
• “⭐️vation mode”
i dont want to end up keeping my fat on because my body goes into this mode. so i’m gradually going to reduce my calories over probably 6 weeks.
• going under my ugw
if i even hit my ugw it’ll be a miracle, but i don’t want to become so @ddicted to r3stricting that i continue rather than maintaining if i eventually get there.
• my loved ones finding out
i plan on making it seem like im just changing my lifestyle. i don’t want to lie, so i’m hoping no one will notice.
• failing
pretty much the only perk of me being obese right now is that my doctor wants to put me on appetite suppressants. i just have to figure out which i’d rather have, do some bloodwork, and then i’m golden.
DISCLAIMERS
i’m not in the mindset to be swayed into not r3l@psing. so pls don’t try to convince me.
i’m not fatphobic. i don’t see anyone worth less no matter what their body looks like. this is solely about me and how i see myself.
i’m not into shaming/triggering each other on purpose to promote progress. you can do that but leave me out of it. if i see anyone insulting me, i’m blocking them, period.
i (in general, sometimes i have bad days) do not hate myself. i understand that this corner of the internet tends to have a lot of self hatred, sh, etc. that’s not where i am in life. this is strictly about w3ight to me. if you are sewer slidal, post sh, talk about sh, or constantly post self hatred, i probably won’t follow you. i hope you love yourself soon though.
any tips on how to lose/vitamins to take/recipes/etc are appreciated.
so thats basically it. im gonna be blogging some kind of mix between ana and d!et stuff. some healthy stuff. some not healthy stuff. i’m not trying to fit in any boxes, just trying to figure out what works for me because i am so fucking desperate to lose at this point.

15 questions for 15 mutuals 🫵🏽
@antiquatedplumbobs tagged me, thank you dear!
are you named after anyone? Not that I know of, but my middle name is the name of my dad’s old best friend.
when’s the last time you cried? I welled up a bit watching the new Dungeons and Dragons movie...I wish I could say which part but I don’t want to spoil it. I’ll put it under the cut.
do you have kids? No.
do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes, possibly too much. I like to joke around a lot, and I use sarcasm more than I speak genuinely. I should work on that. I do want to express genuine things, but when I do they.....tend to sound like sarcasm. Skill issue.
what sports do you play/have you played? Not much for team sports but I walk/jog a lot, and I kayak.
what's the first thing you notice about other people? If they’re good looking or not, in my opinion. Spider sense.
eye color? Blue.
scary movies or happy endings? Hey, scary movies can have happy endings too! I used to have a real issue with movies that ended on low notes, but now I might prefer it to a straight up ‘happy ending’.
any special talents? I have this vein in my hand that if I flex my finger I can make writhe like a worm under the skin.
where were you born? Toronto, unfortunately.
what are your hobbies? Simming, reading, listening to music, writing.
do you have any pets? Yes, a beautiful calico kitty cat.
how tall are you? 172 cm.
fave subject in school? I did well in most of them, but I don’t know how much I really liked any of them. I just like the positive validation. I had a creative writing class that I loved.
dream job? I do not dream of labour I’m not sure, I loved working in a bakery last summer but it’s not really an option for me because of my health issues/physical disability. I think it’d be cool to be an ecologist if I could.
I def don’t have 15 mutuals because I don’t follow many people....feel free to ignore of course.
@allfrogsmatter, @thistleflower-sims, @waxesnostalgic, @linzlu, @happylifesims, @gilded-ghosts, @pixelnrd, @persimmontrees
Major spoilers for Dungerons and Dragons movie under the cut:
The part in the Dungeons and Dragons movie that made me cry was not when they brought Holga back to life with the tablet of reawakening, but when she realized and said “You wasted it on me?” 🥹

I actually saw this one at a normal time so I figured I might as well do it now before I forget (again)
thanks for the tag @largepeachicedtea
Are you named after anyone? My first name is *apparently* from a book my dad was reading when my mum was pregnant... but I don't know if it was a character or just a random word or what book it was from. My middle names are my grandmothers' names - but frenchified because my parents were *like that*
When was the last time you cried? Yesterday. My mental health is *makes fart noise* right now
Do you have kids? Ha. No.
Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes but people don't always get it.
What sports do you play/have you played? Horse riding as a kid but I had to quit when I turned 18 because €€€. these days the only "sport" i play is walking my dog because I had to get rid of my exercise bike when I had to move.
What’s the first thing you notice about people? Physical appearance wise... idk interesting outfit/print on their shirt or something like that. When speaking to them - accents.
What’s your eye color? green
Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings all the way. I don't mind scary movies (I don't really *like* them either - they tend to bore me) but a happy ending is a MUST for all media I consume. (I've left a book behind in a cafe because the dog died, i'm serious about these things)
Any special talents? Nope
Where were you born? In a hospital that was torn down not long after and years later my gran moved into a flat in the building they built in its place. #funfact
What are your hobbies? I used to love cooking and baking... but I had to give up my gas stove and dishwasher when I had to move and I'm still cooking on a shitty little hot plate... and that takes the fun out of it all pretty quickly.
Do you have pets? a dog, a guinea pig (that was supposed to be my cousin's kids' pet but *gasp* you have to actually take care of them and my cousin is too lazy so it ended up with me), and 3 rats
How tall are you? about 1,66m
Favorite subject in school? English. I loved languages in general but English was my favourite (I got 10/10 on my final exam - the only one in the country and the first in the history of the school #funfact2)
Dream job? I always wanted to be a vet or a vet nurse but neither of those are very likely to happen anymore

My brain just goes at night instead of letting me sleep because that’s the only time it’s actually quiet.
I had to go back to bed this morning, which I’m grateful I can do. When I DID have a job, I had to call out for exhaustion so often that I ended up disqualifying myself for health insurance through my workplace.
Anyway, I was laying there thinking about affordable transportation and how, even if I did somehow manage to get a hold of something (other than a very cheap used car which, of course, is an option if I had enough money to do that), it wouldn’t do me any good.
A kei truck, while more useful than a sedan, also costs more than a used sedan (though honestly not by a lot since used cars are running around $6k for one that’s about to die these days) being between $5k used to $11k new.
A cargo bike is very affordable at less than $500 and I could order one right now! I almost did! Until I thought about it more. (whew for not impulse buying one...)
A vespa or similar motorized scooter is also about $5k. That Guy offered to get me one years ago so I could get to town and then changed his mind when he found out they cost more than a computer and I can’t use it anyway.
The problem with all three options, other than lol money, is that I would still not be able to get out of the housing complex.
Tumblr media
None of those three vehicles can even get to 45 mph. People tend to go closer to 65 on the road right outside the complex and if they came around the blind corner going 65 my little 25 to 30mph ass would be obliterated just like the dozens of deer that get hit on that corner every year.
There’s no shoulder for a bike. I do see people biking along there sometimes, but they’re riding sport bikes that are narrow and faster where a cargo bike (which I would need to haul my shit if I were going to and from work because a backpack is right out) is 2 to 3 times as wide as a sport bike and I would be going very slowly due to having garbage spaghetti for hips.
Vespas, with a top speed of 30mph, aren’t legal to drive on a highway at all (not that a bicycle is.....) and when you get east of downtown it’s highway in all directions.
Kei truck tops out at 25mph, too.
So any one of those three vehicles, one of which I could afford (I could sell everything I own and would not be able to afford the others, still), would only get me to the border of the housing complex.
I guess my point is that I’m very frustrated. There are so many solutions but none of them for the situation that I’m actually in.
But hey I could go play golf if golf were something I were even remotely interested in or physically capable of doing...

another tag
today is a twofer brought to you by @buddyhollyscurls
1. Are you named after anyone?
No :^) people have asked me before if I was named after Princess Diana but. No it’s just the only other name my parents could agree on for a girl. I’m the second born in a set of twins with two older brothers, so my parents never anticipated having to name another girl until they got the news.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Couple days ago over pain and health anxiety.
3. Do you have kids?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. But I have four chickens that I love dearly.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I’m generally pretty witty and jovial but I’d say I’m less sarcastic than just silly and goofy. I’m not one of those people that sees sarcasm as the funniest sort of humor; I use it sparingly. I prefer to be the joke.
5. What sports do you play/have played?
NONE lol. But watching swordfights in Shakespeare plays recently (and also a cute artist’s model I used to have a crush on) has made me have passing thoughts of “what if I tried fencing...” (never gonna happen though, especially not now with my health being what it is)
6. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Physically or personality-wise? If someone meets me in real life they probably notice my red hair, I suppose, since that’s a rather rare trait. But I don’t post my face all that much, especially not anymore, so it’s not like everyone who interacts with me here would first notice that. They probably notice my eclectic mix of interests and eccentric personality first.
Although in real life I’m very reserved; I don’t share much of myself. People often pick up despite that though that I’m rather intelligent, and I don’t say that as though *I* think I’m exceptionally intelligent, but that is the way people treat me automatically sometimes when I’m not necessarily trying to show off. Idk it’s weird. I’ve always very much been the “quiet smart girl” when that’s not what I feel best represents me. It’s a very limiting role to be assigned. It’s like being written off, in a way.
7. What's your eye color?
Bleu, bleu, l’amour est bleu...
(that is a Vicky Leandros song)
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Scary movies WITH happy endings. Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale.
9. Any special talents?
One could argue my poetry portrays some level of talent... cough follow @creatediana
10. Where were you born?
The Merrimack Valley region of New England. Miss Mary Mack Mack Mack all dressed in black black black. Fun fact that song is a reference to the Merrimack River and NOW YOU KNOW.
11. What are your hobbies?
Probably reading and writing are the major ones, but I’ve also enjoyed a lot of music in my life (both playing it and listening to it... but I’ve always been better at listening than playing). Acting and theater for a very short stint, although I wouldn’t be opposed to doing it ever again under the *very correct* circumstances (which would basically have to fall in my lap because I’m never seeking that shit out again).
12. Do you have any pet?
My doggy Dickens who is a little bastard fucker and also my sweetheart. Dickens ‘n chickens.
13. How tall are you?
5′7″ but... I can get on my knees if you need me to be smaller
14. Favorite subject in school?
I loved all of them, truly. Especially in college, my enjoyment depended a lot more on the enthusiasm of my professor than the subject. But one thing I’ve learned to love more in recent years is science and the visual arts. Those always eluded me when I was younger. But back in the day my favorite classes were theater, English, Spanish, history, and my guitar classes. Typical humanities girly.
15. Dream job?
Job? Fuck you, pay me.
I’m a schoolteacher.
I would like it better if it had more financial incentives and if there weren’t so many systemic failures in the education system.
I tag: uhhmmm let me see... I’ll do @sneez @david-watts @dylaissante @angelblooms @personshapedsplder @titoro @shecomesincolors @nebylitsa @porsiempretriste and @renjunnipeikko .... if you can HANDLE IT
(or just if you want to)
(anyone can do this actually and tag me back I love you guys xoxox)

GTKY Tag Game
@isabellehemlock tagged me ages ago and yes I do eventually do things... I also love surveys lol
Are you named after anyone?
Two of my great-grandfather's sisters shared my name (the first died in infancy), but my parents were really just looking for biblical names. So not particularly
When was the last time you cried?
Last time the US healthcare system fucked me over and I had to go back to square one seeking treatment :(
Do you have kids?
Nope! I'm actually seeking a bilateral salpingectomy once the aforementioned health insurance nightmare gets solved
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Only with people I'm extremely comfortable with. I'm autistic--teasing and sarcastic conversations are actually a sign that I really trust you. It takes me years to get to that level with someone.
What sport do you play/have you played?
Closest thing to a sport is the social swing dancing I did in college. We met every Tuesday night for a lesson then a few hours of open dancing. It was so fun and I miss it a lot
What’s the first thing you notice about other people?
Height/size and whether the other person cares about it. I'm six feet tall and pretty heavy. Sooooo many cis men get super uncomfortable because I'm taller or as tall as them. It's like I notice how much physical space I take up in relation to another person and how cool with that they seem to be.
Eye color?
Dark brown with gold flecks. My eyes are one of the things I like best about myself.
Scary movies or happy endings?
This is a weird dichotomy??? I want stories that make me feel things
Any special talents?
Reading. I can read 100 pages/hour. I did 10 years of orchestra surviving off my ability to sight-read in three clefs. I also remember what I read or hear scary well--lectures actually work super well for me cause I just soak it all in. My parents called me a sponge for this. I'm a walking encyclopedia and I love it
Where were you born?
Ohio :/
What are your hobbies?
Embroidery, sewing, playing piano, research, writing (in theory), reading
Do you have any pets?
Despite the sheer amount of cat hair in my car, no. I enjoy my friends' cats, but don't really love animals much.
How tall are you?
6ft (my brothers say 5'11.75" but see what I said above about cis men not liking me being tall)
Fave subject in school?
In grade school, French and orchestra. I didn't really like English classes until I got to college and majored in it.
Dream job?
I wanted to be a writer as a kid. But honestly that led to so much pressure and baggage associated with writing that I specifically won't take writing-related jobs now. I can only work part time due to disability stuff, but honestly I have my dream job. I'm the secretary at a church I'm not a member of, so I get to do a variety of admin things--from filing and reminder volunteers that they need to show up places to filming YouTube devotionals and formatting hymn sheets to waging war with the printer and buying supplies. It's chill and steady and has really good boundaries because I don't attend on Sundays. The church also does a lot with humanitarian work in my city so it's cool to help out with that!
Tagging (with no pressure of course) @goldenyearofgrief @whiteorangeflower @revolution-starter @translouisdpdl @dancermk @sinceremercy @nikysavi @mythicaltzu

15 Things About Me
Shout out to @faithinwalls369 for the tag. I'm actually writing the final chapter of my fic this week which I've been really quiet about, and literally none of my mutuals on a discord server know about because I'd never mention something like that, so this will be brand new information to those mutuals.
Anyway, I made the decision to make sure I take breaks from writing it and rambling here seems like a perfect break so buckle in friends.
Are you named after anyone?
My cousin's middle name is Imogen.
When was the last time you cried?
Lol. When I wrote the A/N on the last chapter I posted which was like a day and a half ago. And before that it was earlier that day when I was talking about a sad fic. But I'm PMS-ing so that would be why.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Yes, but I wouldn't say it's my main mode of humour. I looked into once because my little research brain needed to know all the types of senses of humour there were. I'd say mine is 'self-enhancing humour'. Which is like self-deprecating humour except I think all my 'negative' qualities are hilarious. .
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Probably what they're wearing. Not in a judgemental way, but just, I think it tells you a lot about a person.
What’s your eye colour?
Hazel. But I met my husband through a mutual friend and we were at a music festival and for some reason Brown-Eyed Girl was playing and I was like 'I have brown eyes' because I'm amazing at flirting but now he insists I brown eyes even though they are definitely hazel.
Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings unless I don't want to sleep for a week straight.
Any special talents?
Convincing myself I have every life-threatening condition that exists. Surviving on an average of four hours of sleep a night. Publishing 215,000 words in ten weeks.
Where were you born?
Australia. In the same city I live in now.
What are your hobbies?
...I wrote 215k words in ten weeks, I don't have time for hobbies. Only hyperfixations.
What sports do you play/have you played?
I've played football (soccer), basketball, dance, swimming and I was terrible at all of them.
Do you have any pets?
Two black cats - Theo and Luna, and a black lab puppy, named Oreo.
How tall are you?
165 cms.
Favourite subject at school?
I only really did the whole schooling thing to socialise and I left when I was sixteen (but ended up going to uni after) I did best in English and Drama. I'm good at non-calculator maths but my brain couldn't cope when we were expected to remember complex formula's. In year 10 (so like 15-16years old) my maths teacher hated me (because I did fuck all) but I was in one of the top classes and he literally said he had no idea how I was in there. But our first exam for the year was non-calculator and I got top of the class and it was one of my proudest moments. I also enjoyed Biology aspect of science and I was good at the Health/Physical development aspect of PE/H/PD (although that was mainly because I was an autodidact when it came to sex-ed). But then, years later I got my Degree in a health care field.
Dream job?
So... when I was eighteen I created a bucketlist and the very top of it was to publish a book... and I didn't care how it was published, I just wanted to be able to write something and have people read it... and guess what? This week I am writing the final chapter for a 200k+ word fic that people have actually read. But I also love my other job that actually makes me money. Honestly right now I feel like I've reached the self-actualisation level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs... so I can only go down from here. And I've leave you on that pleasant note.

15 Questions | 15 People
Rules: Answer these 15 Questions, then Tag 15 People (LOL no way I tag 15 people, but I’ll try)
No one tagged me, this just looked fun and I’m avoiding things while my minions watch Wall-E
1. Are you named after anyone? No because I’m the middle child. Which means I have the most popular girl name for the year I was born. YAY. 😬
2. When was the last time you cried? Last night. Mr. Schmem and I were having a pointless argument and I got very emotional. Don’t worry, we’re all good now, but splitting hairs when I’m in a bad mood is what I do best.
3. Do you have kids? Oh, you mean, minions that look like kinda like me and talk back incessantly? why yes, I do believe I have some of those wandering under foot.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? When I’m pissed off, absolutely. I become a sarcastic hissing cat and I kind of hate that about myself, but it’s a coping mechanism and it gives me a dopamine high to be a bitch sometimes.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?  It’s mostly subconscious and I’m a human so I definitely judge the book by its cover, at least for a millisecond before I decide whether to keep being judgmental, or feed myself the override codes.
6. What’s your eye color? Blue, but not the pretty kind. The murky, grey-ish blue that looks blaaaahhh/colorless from far away. You have to get up REAL CLOSE to appreciate the shade of blue. Mr. Schmem likes it though, so that’s good.
7. Scary movies or happy ending? Both. There is a time and a place, they are equally satisfying in their own context.
8. Any special talents? Monkey see, monkey do. I’m one of those “jack of all trades, master of none” people who picks up new skills and tinkers with them until I feel like I’ve gotten what I wanted out of them before moving on. I think it’s my way of coping with the fact that I’m not much of a traveller (not ‘cause I don’t wanna be, but because of my adorable minion baggage and the fact that I’m a broke ass millennial.)
9. Where were you born? St. Louis, Missouri. I’ve lived a lot of places, though and I don’t remember it well.
10. What are your hobbies? Outside of fandom??  Sourdough baking. Quilting. Knitting. Sewing. Hiking. Yoga. Reading. (I do 50 about books a year in addition to fic reading). Netflix and Chill. Cooking delicious food that my minions refuse to eat. Decluttering my house (I am an optimistic minimalist enthusiast who is always battling with holiday and birthday gifts and the thousands of papers they send home with minions from school.) Painting, sometimes, but abstract, not figure/portrait stuff.
11. Do you have any pets?  No. Allergies out the wazoo here. Best we could do if we wanted is a reptile, amphibian, or fish. Hard pass on all of the above.
12. What sports do you play/have you played? I suck at sports, mostly because I have no interest in them. If I did have an interest, I’m confident I could learn. I will not play volleyball though, under any circumstances. Too many broken glasses.
13. How tall are you? 5'7″
14. Favorite subject at school? Science, specifically the life variety. Don’t even try to talk Physics to me. Oh! and I LOVED Statistics, surprisingly.
15. Dream job? Since I burnt out as an educator, I’m literally open to anything flexible, that pays, and that I can put down at the end of the day and not think about until tomorrow. (mental health reasons)

I think that’s 15 but if I missed you, participate anyways and tag me so I can learn more about you! <3

List 5 facts about a favorite sim of yours, and send this to 10 simblrs whose sims you adore ♥♥♥
hiii thank you so much for the ask!! 💟
i'm going back to my oc fact roots and doing this one for grant ✨ my beloved pixel son
you know what? grant sleeps really weirdly LMAO. first of all, he's a very heavy sleeper, so nothing except an alarm set on max volume is ever going to wake him up. second of all, he pretty much always sleeps flat on his back in a perfectly straight line, but he has a habit of sleeping with his hands clasped on his waist, which makes him look dead. sir, why are you sleeping like a CORPSE?! ⚰️⚰️⚰️
grant is someone who has a lot of hobbies because he's the kind of guy who always has to be doing something with his hands and his brain or he'll lose his mind from boredom. obviously, he's big into video games and listening to music but he also loves studying up on or doing anything related to astronomy or aviation (okay nerd 👨‍💻) and he loves to travel or to be outdoors. hiking is his big outdoors thing but he also likes to just chill and look at pretty nature stuff. he's also done some camping, water sports, etc. stuff like that.
he's a huge neat freak and tbh a bit of a germaphobe. he absolutely is the kind of person who makes their bed every day, who cleans up the house every day in some format, who is super strict about kitchen and bathroom cleanliness, etc. he washes his hands a LOT and always keeps hand sanitizer on him. and there's a lot of stuff he's grossed out by. he refused to touch any part of a sink with his bare hands, he won't deal with his cat's litter box without gloves and a mask, etc. when he spends time outside, he's definitely going to shower twice afterward to feel clean. also, for most of his adult life (aka up until he had to leave because of his medical issues) he was a pilot and he knows how gross people are, so he would ALWAYS disinfect anything and everything in the cockpit and he would go out of his way to clean up the cabin with the flight attendants even though that wasn't part of his job description. that always made him better about being in there all day long (and plus, he respects flight attendants!! grant says respect the FAs or else!!)
going back to the hobbies thing...while he was losing his mind recovering from surgery and also trying to cope with all the feelings he has, grant picked up art as a side thing he likes to do! 🎨 he's not amazing at it or anything because he's not a natural artist or musician despite having a creative mind, but he likes to sketch flowers or scenery things or other sorts of natural stuff like animals. it's been good "therapy" for him. life has been a lot for him, starting out with shitty parents and ending up with his childhood trauma triggering mental and physical health problems for him, and also sometimes being the person who constantly has to be doing something is exhausting, so sitting down and drawing something in a notebook is a good way for him to balance all of those things. it gives him something to do but doesn't require a lot of brain power and still works through whatever feelings are driving him to sketch something pretty
you know how some guys use like 3-1 shampoo/conditioner stuff? 💀 nahhh grant is the opposite. he has like a seven-step skincare routine and he's very particular about shampoo and conditioner usage and taking proper care of his curly hair. he owns SO many hair & skin care products and he is obsessive about using them. is it partially because he's a germaphobe? yes! is it partially because he's super comfortable with doing traditionally feminine stuff? yes! anywayyyyy go grant, our nail polish and moisturizer king 💅

Gratitude - Where is your focus today?
Tumblr media
For the longest time, we’ve all heard that joy in life starts from within. We’ve got plenty of evidence directing us back to our inner being when finding satisfaction in life. The stories of Prophets and spiritual gurus tell us that nothing from the outside will fully satisfy us in life because all is temporary and will come to pass. In our present-day tragic Hollywood and rags-to-riches stories, many seek satisfaction with the material world to end up dissatisfied. Of course, we have all been guilty of such mentalities and behaviors, so where can one find the key to joy to have a balanced life leading from within to the outer world.
Despite the suffering worldwide, many persist in loops of complaining about almost anything in life. Many complain about the news, sports, weather, jobs, people, food, having too much to do or not having enough to do, and much more. However, in the end, all our complaining is a direct cause of our lack of joy, which begs the question: could a simple daily mindset shift to gratitude be the key to contentment. The most obvious answer is yes, but again where does one start to make the shift.
From experience, I would say our basic needs are the most obvious place to start. If you are a person who can wake up to food, water, shelter, and clothes daily, then you have a lot to be grateful for. Many today are not as fortunate all over the world. Every country in the world has poverty issues, so no matter where you are, if you have the basic needs in life, start by saying thank you. You will be surprised how practicing gratitude for the simplest things will aid you in a more prosperous and fulfilling life experience.
From the perspective of gratitude, many may claim what about all the things I don’t have and need. And although this is true, many need the basic needs in life and other things like a job, health, family, and even physical freedom. However, if we focus on what we don’t have or claim we need, the irony is that we further ourselves from them. In many ways, it is like we are standing on quicksand, sinking and complaining about it but not taking the necessary steps to get ourselves where we’d like to be in order not to slip. Remaining in quicksand is like keeping our perspective entirely on what we don’t have rather than shifting our attitude to what we do have.
Sometimes this matter of gratitude needs to be broken down to its lowest denominator. If we struggle with joy in life with anything, we must consider that if today we can see, hear, speak, and move in life, we are blessed much more than we realize. Our present circumstances are but a speck in the eyes of others (if they are so blessed to have eyes). Like anything else in life, our current events can change and will change, but it’s a shift that only your inner being can make, and it starts with a specific attitude, gratitude.
The attitude of gratitude starts by shifting our perspective daily on what we have rather than what we presently lack. Taking the time daily to appreciate the abundance already in our life, whether material or not, is where we need to operate daily to see a change in our lives. It’s easy to work from a scarcity mindset; most of us have programmed ourselves to do it daily, so we need to begin reprograming ourselves daily.
Think for a moment and remember that as parents or children, what are some of the first words we teach or learn to say and practice. I’m sure the answer for us all is obvious, yet with all the tough times in life and the many struggles, mistakes, and pain we have all gone through, I’m sure staying in gratitude hasn’t been easy, right? Saying thank you in life begins to escape our vocabulary the older we become; for that reason, joy is also lacking.
Tumblr media
Let’s make it our mission today to become grateful even in challenging times. Like everyone else in life, we all experience tough times and remember that others are not as blessed to overcome some tough times to see another day. There is so much to have gratitude for today. Make it your intention today to start each day by reflecting on all you can say thank you for, and if you have to, make a list to see it on paper.
Keep in mind that no life is perfect, and the imperfections in our lives make us unique if we can still see the beauty in the flaws and say thank you. If you are reading this, you are blessed by the simple ability to read and put something in your mind that will give you a better perspective at this moment but don’t stop here. Continue to do the work to reprogram your attitude and mindset. Soon, you will be the one giving out similar wisdom because you have developed gratitude, and the most apparent evidence of gratitude is giving back.
We are all creators on this earth, and we can create moments of gratitude every single day if we choose to or moments of lack thereof. Remember that the more you think you need, the more lack thereof you will attract. Therefore, start to see what you already have and how easily life will appreciate you.
