A/N: trying out a new format, so lemme know what you think! Idk if this'll become a regular thing, but I like the way this looks lol. It's so fancy. Also, I got some requests for sdv on my other blog, so I'm posting it here and combining all the requests into one lol

out of all the bachelors (that I write for), I think he would take the longest time to warm up to

if you become friends with Sam or Abigail first, it'll definitely help him warm up to you faster

after y'all finally start dating (you probs had to ask him), he's still pretty shy around you

he doesn't have a lot of dating experience (if any at all), so he's very unsure of how to go about things

after getting to know each other more though, he finally starts to relax more around you

in general, I think homeboy is very reserved

so, I think when it comes to initiating physical touch, telling you what's wrong, etc etc, it can take him a long time to actually get around to doing those things

you always reassure him through everything though and make sure he knows that you're there to support, learn, and grow with him no matter what :)

after like a year of dating, y'all are basically perfect

you know the in's and out's of the other person

homeboy is a BIG cuddler

I think the way he shows physical affection is probably quality time

I can just see him wanting to share your space, even if you two aren't necessarily doing anything together

Like, just do your own thing while he games, or come join him!

when you two live together, I think things are kinda bumpy at first as you adjust to having someone else in your space all the time

probs leads to a few arguments, but nothing some good ol communication can't fix

when it comes to going to bed, homie stays up rather late, so if you don't, you banish him to the abyss (the living room) if he needs to do something with light or sound (if that'll keep you up, that is)

if you're also a night owl, you two are two peas in a pod

y'all will curl up and watch a movie, talk, play games, you name it

nighttime is always his fav time to spend with you bc you aren't busy doing farm work

will die ON THE SPOT if you write a poem for him (even if it's bad. it's the thought that counts <3)

when he starts to take romantic interest in you, expect a LOT of poems, actually

in general, anytime he speaks to you it's all very flowery and beautiful (and sometimes you don't even really know what he's saying bc it'll be old english, but you know it's romantic nonetheless)

"Thou art wise as thou art beautiful." and "Mine eye is enthrallèd to thy shape." and the probs the most romantic one by far that he said once you two started officially dating, "You are part of my existence, part of myself. You have been in every line I have ever read."

he's such a hopeless romantic, so he does the whole nine yards of flowers, candies, poems, love letters/notes, thoughtful gifts, you name it

he's enraptured by you and wants you by his side for all eternity

in general, I think his love language is probably words of affirmation

he tends to go on poetic tangents about your beauty (and just you in general) quite often

as for sleepy time, I think he's an old man that goes to bed at the latest 10 pm and wakes up earliest 7 am. This, of course, is if he isn't struck by creative genius and has to write until 6 am to get everything he needs out

awe, it's cute because if you're out and about trying to finish some farming stuff, by like 2 am he's waking up bc he's like :( where are you :( the bed is cold :(( come back :((( and is all worried about you bc "it's late." But the second he does it and you're like babe wha- he's like "No talk. Must write." and that's the end of the conversation LMAO

fav position to cuddle is the one where he's laying on his back and you're on your side with your head on his chest/shoulder/neck. He LOVES LOVES LOVES rubbing your back and/or playing with your hair as y'all fall asleep

ᴀʟᴇx:

is not shy about how he feels about you

compliments you EVERY SINGLE TIME he sees you without fail

he loves how flustered you get when he does it

is definitely the type to be able to dish it out but can't take it

WILL turn into a tomato ON SIGHT if you compliment his muscles or tell him he looks strong

he probs asks you out on a date rather shortly after meeting you and does his best to rizz you up

I think in his head he's this big, tough, macho guy with these big muscles and words made of satin, but in reality I think that while he is strong, he's such a dork (in the best way possible)

like, on your first date, he's probs like "yeah ima charm the pants off of them!" and then he sees you and literally can't stop stuttering and tripping over his own words because of how beautiful you are

bro is COMMITTED to you after that first date though

he's always asking to hang out to the point he even offers to help you out on the farm (which he ends up loving because he likes doing all the heavy lifting stuff, like moving bales of hay or chopped down trees)

bc of this, I think his love language is acts of service bc he knows that it's something he's good at

you need help around the farm? He's got you, babe. You need something from that top shelf? Easy, babe. Oh no! That one place is closing soon and you forgot to run that errand? He can get there in no time, babe. Had a long day and just need to relax? He's ready to give you a massage and run a bath for you. Whatever you need

he's definitely big on physical touch and I think his favorite way of greeting you is to sneak up behind you and hug you from behind

he loves feeling you jump in surprise before relaxing into him

I like to think he's on a very strict regime where he, of course, has to exercise and eat right, but I think he also is required to get at least eight hours of sleep every night

Just a funny idea;

Since I doubt Pierre's stocks that kinda stuff; Shane and Harvey both know who in Pelican Town are currently doing dirty business based on purchases at Joja Mart and/or requests from the clinic.

Harvey obvs never reveals who asks for what - patient confidentiality after all. But Shane def has had to look more than one villager in the eyes while on register duties and ring up their basket of cheap booze and "protection".

He bumped into Marnie one rainy Saturday when he was called in on a day off. That was how he learned that his aunt was currently boinking somebody in town. He needed a good few rounds of beers after work to quell his horror.

Shane is trying to sus out *who* it is though, as it isn't like his aunt to be so tight-lipped and embarassed about something. Sam and Abigail have helped him draft a "Suspect's List" based on who comes in for what at Joja Mart and Pierre's.

Sam suspects Gus the Barman since he's such a plump, happy person like Marnie. Similar vibes ya know?

Abigail is convinced its Marlon the Adventurer - eye-patch, beard, and a sword? Total babe magnet.

Shane personally is placing his bets on someone whos is a lot younger than Marnie - hence the embarassment. He has shot many a threatening look at Elliot (romantic seaside poet? any woman would swoon) and even Harvey himself (adorable dork with a mustache).

Eventually it becomes a huge topic of discussion that Friday evening at the Saloon and a bunch of the younger townsfolk are *subtley* offering their own theories.

Jas, holding a cola: "Are you guys trying to solve a mystery?" Leah: "I don't think this is a mystery you'd be interested in Jas..." Sam: "Yeah. The mystery of who's in love with your aunt Marnie." Jas: "I went into Aunt Marnie's room one morning to find some hair ties and Mayor Lewis was hiding under the bed..." All within earshot at the saloon: (⊙_⊙) Shane: "He was what?"

D- Dirty Secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)

I feel like a dirty secret of his is that he is a panty (gender neutral) stealer. Like the dude totally snoops through the drawers of whoever he is interested in, or a person he has slept with, and steals at least one pair. He does care if they’re clean or dirty he just wants a pair of underwear. I feel like he doesn’t have them labeled or anything, but he remembers exactly who he stole them from. He has self control though, he only needs one pair, he isn’t like a compulsive stealer.

F- Favorite Position (this goes without saying)

Top three would be in no particular order(visual links included btw):

Being alone with your thoughts for so many hours a day can make one a little... eccentric.

Content warning: none ☺️ just the silliest little HC.

(also if you consider yourself a writer and have never done something like this, you're lying.)

It takes, like, YEARS after marriage for this one to come to fruition.

Then, one day, it happens. You bust into the house from the summer heat to grab a drink of water because, fuck, it's hot and--

Elliott didn't expect you back for another couple hours. It's summer! It's the busiest season! He thought he had the house to himself for at least another--

--there's Elliott. Just, uhh... well to be honest you're just not quite sure at first what he's doing.

--he doesn't notice you come in then stand stock-still in the doorway for several confused, dumbstruck, delighted seconds.

Meanwhile: his hair is in a ratty knot on top of his head, he has a very round potato in his hand that he holds aloft like an offering to the gods (the ceiling fan, perhaps?) while he stands barefoot, pajamaed, on top of his desk.

and you don't know what you like more--the voice(s) he uses when he's in-character, or how he so often interrupts himself, out of character, with little nitpicking comments.

"--and with every ounce of my power--ounce? don't they measure in metrics? and is the nature of power fluid or, *gasp* gaseous? ...No, has to be fluid--holdable, shapeable. But fluidity of power," he kneels, scribbling something on the one paper left on the desk. "definitely include that somewhere else, yes..." He stands up, clears his throat and resumes, "--and with all the power now within my reach--nope, already holding it--grasp, I can finally--"

His eyes meet yours with a tiny yelp and he freezes.

Neither of you speak. A bead of sweat falls from your face and plips on the floor. He continues to hold the potato aloft.

Finally, "You're home early, dear."

"Just, uh... need some water," you manage. A few seconds pass by, so you helpfully add, "It's hot."

"Indeed."

Another pause.

Your turn. "Sooo... whatcha doin' up there, dear?"

He slowly lowers the potato. "I... was having trouble figuring out the blocking, you see. Frederick just obtained the orb of power and he's quite conflicted about it. So..."

"...so you stand on your desk and offer it to the ceiling fan?"

"No," he pouts, but you know that's a sign that he's incredibly relieved--you're playing along so he plays along. "No, you go stand on a cliff," he motions to the desk, "and seek communion with the Great Omnipotence," he gestures to the ceiling fan.

"Yes, that's... yup. That's what that is."

He clicks his tongue, non-potatoed hand on his hip. "...this might surprise you, but I have a very vivid imagination. Now, can you help me down?--I accidentally kicked my chair away during the villain's soliloquy."

You walk over, despite: "I'm very sure you're more than capable of getting down safely on your own."

He holds out his hand. "And miss the chance to hold your hand and jump into your arms?"

(depending on the stature of the farmer, he very well may! But only if there's not a single ounce of doubt he wouldn't overwhelm the farmer.)

From there, it's gradual, but he little by little lets his guard down. He talks to himself in low muttrances at first, like quiet bickering when he's particularly focused. Then he takes to dramatic readings while he's cooking or cleaning, trying to strike the right cadence and rhythm. Months later he's pushing furniture aside and pacing out choreographed scenes in the living room. In the winter, you're roped into them with him and... he loves it, and he loves you all the more for it.

He uses your help for scenes he's stuck on, gives you a page or two to work with, then tells you to just say and do what feels right! He doesn't always use exactly what you riff up, but it helps point him in the right direction.

He'll do any kind of scene you're comfortable with, but he especially seems fond of putting you in romantic scenes. 😘

even though half of them never show up in his novels or poetry collections??????? and yet???????

He still maintains his composed facade outside of the house, but inside your little house by the pond, all bets are off. You routinely come home with Elliott pacing, muttering, giving a grandiose speech, nitpicking--he stops, but only a pause, to acknowledge you with a peck on the cheek before he whisks himself away again--prophesizing, arguing, nitpicking, etc....

Your home has never been so full of life, laughter, and love.

Here are some hcs for the bachelorettes!

Abigail: Abigail's no stranger to feeling insecure. She'll try to hide it, she really will, but she can't help but ask "Do you still love me?" every other night. The farmer will just chuckle and reply "Of course I do. Do you still love me?". To which Abigail would respond with a kiss and say "Duh". It's nice knowing that you're on the same page with her and knowing that insecurities are never an obstacle between you. If anything, it brings you closer together.

Emily: She isn't especially vocal with her feelings; she prefers to let actions speak for themselves. But when your love language is words of affirmation, it's easy to get in your head. Emily is very intuitive and knows when you're feeling insecure, and she steps right up to shower you in love and attention without you even having to say anything. For her, it's easy to forget that actions don't always speak louder than words, but she's always more than willing to give you the reassurance you need. Because you deserve to hear it.

Haley: She used to eat insecure people for breakfast. She's never been one to be insecure... Until you. Wondering if she even deserved you, worried you secretly resent her for how rude she'd been when you first met. So when you're feeling insecure, she's baffled by it. How could you feel insecure when you're so amazing? But you tell her how you feel and she listens intently, and then she understands. Because she feels the same way at times. She tells you that you never have anything to worry about, that she adores you above anything else, and that you're always welcome to talk to her about it, so long as she can do the same.

Leah: Leah does a really good job at expressing her feelings for you, but sometimes you feel insecure anyway. And that's okay! Because she takes it as a queue to go all out for you! Maybe paint you something special or plan a sweet date together. She sees it as a challenge, and you know what? She always wins.

Maru: While romantic in her own right, Maru can be a little out of touch. When she gets caught up in her work, she tends to disconnect from everything else. She certainly doesn't mean to. But when she gets distant, it's easy to feel insecure. The best thing to do is just go up to her and say "I need more attention, I've been feeling insecure". Bluntness is key. Immediately she'll snap out of it and being to apologize. She didn't mean to make you feel that way! She wants to do everything she can to make you feel loved!

Penny: For every time you've felt insecure, trust me, Penny's felt that tenfold. She doesn't like show it, but she often worries that you've changed your mind about her or that you're losing feelings for her. While she's determined to keep it inside, it can be coaxed out of her if you start the conversation. If you tell her about your insecurities, she'll eventually tear up and begin to pour out her worries to you. By the end, you both were able to bring up your insecurities and have the other reassure you with softness and love.

Bachelor/ettes x Artist Farmer

Hi 🌙! Glad to have another emoji anon here! How are things going? Anyways, cute request! Thank you for asking! I think I might have done this before? Maybe. I don't know. Oh well! This mainly focuses on drawing sorry.

Bachelors:

Sam

Sam loves your art! He always looks over your shoulder when he sees you drawing, so you'll definitely have to take it upon yourself to tell him not to do that if it makes you uncomfortable. He's also going to beg you to design an album cover for him and his band.

Elliott

Elliott would also like to use your artistic skills, this time for his newest book. He can't pay you all too much (unless his previous book becomes a bestseller), but he will shout you whatever you want at the saloon whenever you want. He really appreciates your skill, it reminds him of Leah!

Sebastian

I'm pretty sure his job involves making models, so he'd ask you for some references to copy off of. Really likes to admire your work; spends a lot of time just looking through the pages if he can. If you won't let him he'll respect your boundaries, but will still ask every once in a while.

Harvey

He's not really an artist, so he's really amazed at what you can do! He'd ask you to draw his model airplanes for him (if you want to, of course). Despite his lack of drawing/painting skills, he does appreciate good art, and will set aside some money to go to an art show.

Shane

Shane's drawing skills equate to that of a five-year-old's potato head self-portrait. I mean, art is art, so it's not necessarily bad, but he's not getting recognised for it anytime soon. So when he finds out you're and artist, he gets secretly excited and makes note to try and find out what you've made.

Alex

When he was a kid, he'd get the hose and paint a smiley face on the fence with the water, but that's about all he's done. Actually, he did try to impress a girl with his drawing skills once, but she ended up rejecting him, so he stopped. He asks you to teach him how to do some spaghetti sort of art sometime because he looks at you (no matter what art medium you do) and immediately assumes you'd be a master at pasta art. You're welcome, I guess?

Bachelorettes:

Penny

Please tell me you read the same books as her and please tell me you've made art of the characters; she will fall in love. Since she's a teacher (basically), she does have some skills in art related mediums, but nothing beyond what she needs to teach. She likes sketching characters the most, so she sheepishly shows of her work to you and asks for advice.

Leah

Artist duo, baby! Leah loves your art! She's into sculpting and a bit of painting herself, but recognises any art is art and is totally down to do some with you! You have some fun competitions on trying to draw the other worse and worse each time but still have it look like them. That, or you just set up a vase and chill trying to copy it.

Abigail

Abigail's a decent artist. Again, she only really uses pencil or pen on paper, but has dabbled in digital art through the use of an old game console she had as a kid. You two do that competition thing like Leah, except you purposely try to make each other look worse and worse without any semblance of the original subject. Fun times!

Maru

Maru is a great artist, I think. She does a lot of detailed planning for her inventions and puts a lot of effort into the artwork. You know that car show where the guy draws the finished product in coloured pencil before actually making it? Yeah, like that. Except she doesn't use colour. Anyways, she gets what art's all about and can feel with you when you get that art block.

Emily

She can draw clothes, paint abstract art, and make towers out of dry spaghetti sticks. When she finds out you're an artist, she immediately asks to see what you've done. Emily's very much a believer in 'any art is art as long as you put your soul into it', so she'll always say she loves whatever you make. Not the best for constructive criticism, but great for a pick-me-up when you're feeling low.

Haley

Unlike her sister, Haley has no idea what she's doing. I suppose photography is related to other mediums of art, but the most she's done is draw some hearts on some photos and hung them up on the wall. During her mean phase she pretends not to care, but once she comes out of her shell she really takes an interest in it! She tries to copy your art but doesn't do so well.

Sebastian is a fast and rough kinda guy. He likes FUCKING and that’s exactly what he is going to do. He tried the slow and hard but he just loses control and chases his high and can’t stop it. Will make an effort if you want him to be slower and sensual, but he prefers the rough fucking.

V-Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)

I think he varies based on what mood he is in. At the very least he is grunting and panting, it’s decently loud, he’s not trying to hide anything at all. I think he is VERY vocal and talks as he’s fucking. It’s not full on sentences but it is a bunch of “fucks” and “yeahs”. Sometimes he whimpers and moans if he isn’t in control, also never hides those.

Z-Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)

This is literally the only time he can fall asleep quickly from how worn out he is. Literally good sex cures his insomnia momentarily. He makes sure to at least make sure you are comfortable enough to sleep yourself, might run a bath for the two of you, if he isn’t completely worn out, where the both of you fall asleep until he wakes up first and puts you both to bed.
