Why are romantic relationships expected in our society? Like it’s not even a case of most people have them, it’s a case of once you reach a certain age, you *should* have been in one otherwise ur classed as lonely and people feel bad. I’ve been single since I was literally 12 years old and that wasn’t particularly a serious relationship, yet I’m absolutely living my best life bc my friends mean the world to me and ofc since the age of 12 I’ve gotten to know myself better and realised I’m aro but idk it just feels weird and that one relationship I did have was just bc I thought it was what people did.

Essentially I just wish friendships were valued as much as romantic relationships bc there have been times friends have left me and it’s still hurt but people don’t see that as being as bad as a breakup? Like I get breakups hurt but don’t use that to make my feelings less valid as I’ll never experience a true romantic breakup. Friendships and romantic relationships are essentially still both relationships, they’re different but not different levels

That time I kept a pronoun button for years without knowing what it was.

6 years ago, when I was at college, a booth at my University had buttons like these around . I did not know what it meant but I took it anyway because I thought it represented the University still and I loved being a student at my University.

Through out those 6 years I was still figuring out who I was as a person. I knew that I was queer but throughout my time being on the Internet, I eventually learned what Nonbinary meant and I realized that I identified myself as a Nonbinary person.

Last year, I was cleaning up my closet and I found this button. I decided to wear it around because not only They/Them is one set of pronouns that I by (I also go by He/Him and It/Its) but was, and still am working for the University that I attended.

This year I bought myself a coffin shaped backpack purse in which you can add pins and buttons to and this button has been on my backpack since. The fact that I kept this button without knowing what it meant just to learn what it meant and realizing that it expressed a part of me, is not only funny but amazing.

I don't know if the University is still making these buttons but I'm glad that not only I attended a college that accepted who I was but it's now the workplace that accepts me for who I am.

And yes, I always take this backpack with me to work.

Given how Disney’s live action Jungle Book and Pinocchio deviated from their animated version’s endings, I’m concerned for the live action Little Mermaid’s ending now.

I’m aware that Ariel is important to the LGBTQ community for a reason and if they decide to mess with the ending and have her stay a mermaid…. There’s going to be hell to pay.
