↷ SUMMARY ↶
A new special move!
The third day of summer training camp and the temperature was still rising. Under the cool shade of the tree upon the hill, you, Shimizu, and Yachi were preparing cool electrolyte drinks for the team. Usually, you three done it in the gym but experiencing how hot the weather was, you three decided brought the bottles uphill so the team could drink immediately in order to avoid dehydration.
“That’s a different type of brand you use, [Name]-chan.” Shimizu commented, seeing a different colored package of electrolyte drink in your hand.
“Oh, Kageyama-kun usually used this particular brand,” you replied, pouring the powder into the bottle and turn the lid close, then you shook the bottle so it would mix thoroughly. Your upperclassman hummed in understanding from your answer.
While it was the third day of training, it’s also marked the three weeks of Kageyama and Hinata not talking to each other even though it didn’t hinder their practice. It worried you a bit, but you knew the two of them would talk eventually.
“Great work,” you said, offering the bottle to Kageyama when he and the rest of the boys arrived uphill. He rasped out a thank you before immediately downing the drink.
“Hinata-kun, this is yours!”
“Thank you!”
You purposely be the one to delivered the bottle straight to the person–Hinata was keeping a quite distance from Kageyama and you didn’t want to force the orange-haired boy to get closer with the raven-haired setter.
“Wuaah, it’s nice and cool,” Hinata sighed in content, placing the bottle upon his cheek–enjoying the coolness radiating from it. After satisfied in cooling down his face, he soon downed the drink. Now that you think, you rarely talk to Hinata these days with him busy with his practice.
“[Name]-san, is your arm okay?” ah, he must be referring to the long cut on your arm.
“It’s already a month, Hinata-kun, it’s healed but it does leave a scar,” you lifted your arm, showing a faint lighter line present on your skin where your wound previously at.
“Oh, sorry,” frowns don’t suit Hinata at all–he’s a bright ball of beaming energy, a warm figure who could lit your day in an instant. It’s his nature, and seeing him becoming dejected from the start of the day was worrying.
“It’s fine, Hinata-kun, it’s not your fault anyway. It was an accident,” you dismissed his apology. “And if you need anything, just call out for me, okay? I’ll do my best to help you.”
You didn’t know what force that made you say those words, but you know you couldn’t take it back–you didn’t intend too anyway. Hinata always worked hard by himself, so you want to support him as much as possible. The orange haired boy looked taken a back before a giving you that infamous wide, sunny grin.
“Okay! And call me Shoyo, then! I call you by your first name so it’s fair if you call me like that too!”
“Alright, then, Shoyo-kun.”
.
.
The temperature was still rising–the burning hot atmosphere exhausted your boys even further than before. It would get rough, both for their body and mind eventually. You could feel your skin prickling–the tension was rising faster than before, tiredness building up, and sooner or later it would get to them.
“Damn it!” you gripped on your hand a little tighter after hearing Hinata’s scream of frustration. He failed to get the ball over the net because he lost in terms of strength with Lev. For the past three days, he couldn’t hit any ball comfortably, and with the battle of height always looming over him he had nothing to fight it with.
The match continued–Nishinoya tossed the ball perfectly, and then Kageyama went up to made a toss. Hinata, noticing there was a chance for a quick immediately jumped. Even though the ball barely being hit, it still got over the net and fell on the opposite court.
“You held back, didn’t you!?” his upperclassmen’s praises went over his head as Hinata yelled in anger at Kageyama.
“Held back?” the raven-haired setter also didn’t like the approach, glaring back menacingly. “Me? With volleyball?”
Thankfully before a fight could break, Takeda-sensei already asked for a time-out–with that, at least the two could cool down for a bit and not causing ruckus on the court in the middle of a match.
“That wasn’t the falling toss!” Hinata’s next words, caught you off guard. He noticed something’s different with the toss? It looked the same to you.
“It wasn’t?” Takeda-sensei questioned.
“I mean, looking back, it technically may not have been.” Coach Ukai answered, a thumb under his chin. “I think what just happened is that the toss right now wasn’t like the falling tosses he’s been getting, but more of a parabola.”
It clicked in your mind–the abrupt change suddenly made sense. “Does that mean Kageyama-kun is trying to get Shoyo-kun to hit the ball no matter what?”
“It’s on purpose?” Yachi turned to look at you.
“But what for?” Shimizu’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“Hinata hasn’t hit a spike comfortably for a while now,” Coach Ukai was the one who answered to their question. “That’s pretty stressful for a spiker. Kageyama might have subconsciously been worried that Hinata’s might not play as well because of that.”
You frowned in worry, seeing how Hinata still rooted on his spot despite Tanaka’s attempt to dragged him off the court. And it also worried you that Kageyama was looking utterly dejected–maybe he realized for a moment that he pulled his punches. Thankfully it was only a moment–everything was resolved rather quickly and practice resumed.
.
.
After practice at night, you found yourself helping Bokuto, Kuroo, and Akaashi in the third gym. The owl captain immediately dragged you away as soon as the last practice was over (you swore you could hear Tanaka and Nishinoya’s screams of fury), so here you were, throwing balls to Akaashi so he could toss it to Bokuto. Surprisingly, Tsukishima was present as well–now, he’s learning to block with Kuroo’s guidance.
“Oh? Tsukki, [Name]-chan, did you bring a friend today?” Bokuto suddenly asked, which confused the two of you.
“Pardon?” Tsukishima questioned.
When you threw a look over your shoulder, you immediately took a notice of an extremely familiar figure with orange hair by the door. Calling out, you gave him a smile. “Shoyo-kun!”
“[N-Name]-san!”
“What happened to your partner?” Tsukishima asked.
“Kageyama’s practicing on his own again,” Hinata answered. “I was trying to get Kenma to throw me tosses, but he ran away after the fifth one.”
“It’s amazing that you got Kenma to even give you five during practice,” Kuroo remarked.
“So, please let me practice with you!” another surprised for you because Lev showed up and asking the same thing.
“Lev!”
“Oh, Hinata,” the silver-haired boy then noticed you and immediately waved his hands enthusiastically. “Otohaku-chan!! You’re here too!!”
“Lev, quit flirting with the manager and I thought you were practicing receives with Yaku.” Kuroo said and of course, the mention of Nekoma’s libero, Lev stiffened.
“He said I was doing well today, so he let me go!”
From the looks of it, it was no doubt he ran away while Yaku was having a bathroom break or something else that required him for leaving the gym. But Kuroo, being the lenient and laid-back captain he is, dismissed it.
“Well, whatever,” he sighed. “Then, we have the right number of people, so let’s play three-on-three. [Name], you’re in charge of the score.”
Nodding in understanding, you pushed the score board closer and changed the names above–cats and owl, it reminded you of the two captain’s characteristics. You were fine in looking over the match, but this match was quite ridiculous. Thankfully, you’re not the only to think so.
“Um, isn’t this just a bit unbalanced?” Akaashi questioned. He was in the same team with Bokuto and Hinata, whereas the opposite team was clearly having more advantage in height–Kuroo, Lev, and Tsukishima are all above 185cm. Still with the disadvantage he got, Hinata was excited for sure.
The match was interesting to watch–even with the lack of extra height for Hinata’s team, they were still on par with Tsukishima’s team. But soon it was stopped by Yukie and Kaori’s appearance.
“If you don’t wrap soon, the cafeteria will close and you won’t get any dinner.” Yukie informed. “Oh? [Name]-chan, you’re here too? That explains why you don’t show up for dinner.”
Frustration was clear to Hinata because he clearly enjoyed the match and he didn’t want it to end, however, with Kuroo’s reassurance that they would continue this tomorrow, he was back bouncing on his feet. You couldn’t help but smile at the captain’s attentiveness.
“Thank you for cheering Shoyo-kun up,” you said, as the seven of you walked towards the cafeteria. Yukie and Kaori said they had to handle other things first so they couldn’t accompany you (it was hard for them to let you go with the boys). “Today’s not a good day for him so this match definitely cheers him up.”
“It’s nothing, and we probably have to apologize to you too,” Kuroo remarked. “Bokuto’s dragging you here, you stuck with us, and missed dinner. Bokuto, you have an apology to make!”
“That’s right, Bokuto-san, you made Otohaku-san missed dinner.” Akaashi piped up. “Tomorrow she has to wake up early to prepare breakfast, too.”
As if struck by lightning, Bokuto froze and turned stiffly to look at you before he went on a full apology-mode–as far as dropping on his knees, taking your hands in his, and begging for apology. You laughed nervously, but you knew he was sincere with it.
“I’m sorry, [Name]-chan!! I’ll make it up to you!! Do I need to replace you handling breakfast tomorrow!?”
“N-no, it’s alright, I will be fine and you don’t have to apologize, Bokuto-san. I don’t mind helping you practice.”
“Bokuto-san, you’re making Otohaku-san uncomfortable.”
“Have my back for once, Akaashi!!”
.
.
Now that you think of it, your after-practice time was automatically reserved for the third gym. Bokuto would bound towards you, asking for your help as soon as you’re done with your managerial duties. With your nod, he then reached out for your hand and pulled you to ran towards the third gym.
Akaashi already informed you to just dismissed his captain, but you found yourself couldn’t possibly rejected Bokuto’s invitation–especially when his eyes practically shining, you didn’t have a heart to ruin it. That goes for Daichi also, he even offered to talk to Bokuto about it if it bothers you. You were grateful for the two’s offer, still if you could help, you want to be helpful as possible.
It’s probably the third time you helped them practice by throwing balls and keeping an eye on the score board. Well you did your usual managerial duties as well–refilling the water bottles, giving them towels, sometimes wiping the floor when it became too slippery. Kuroo mentioned that you didn’t have to do it since your work hour was over and him, Bokuto, Akaashi, and Lev weren’t from your team.
Again, you dismissed it–it’s not a heavy duty, anyway. In between water break, Tsukishima asked about why on earth Kuroo wanted to help them when they would end up being rival in the end.
The captain cleared his throat. “I want to make the Battle at the Garbage Dump a reality. It’s what our coach wants more than anything. But who knows how much longer our coach is going to continue coaching? So, because of that, we need you guys to keep winning too.”
Overall, you understood Kuroo’s reason, but there was something that piqued your curiosity.
“Uhm, I know this question might sound strange, but, what is Battle at the Garbage Dump?” you asked.
“Oh, that’s right, we haven’t explained anything to Yachi-san and [Name]-san!” Hinata said.
“To put it simple, it’s like destined match between Karasuno and Nekoma.” Tsukishima explained. “It’s been going since the previous Coach Ukai’s time.”
“Karasuno and Nekoma will climb up until they could go to nationals and then will meet up on the orange court.” Kuroo grinned, reaching up to ruffle your hair lightly.
“That’s… so cool,” you muttered. You couldn’t find the exact words to express the awe you’re feeling. A match in the orange court between destined rivals, it’s almost like straight up from a manga or a movie. Other teams could research but playing against a team that knows you really well is going to be an absolute thrill–probably the best match Karasuno could get.
“Right, right!?” Hinata went up to you and asked excitedly.
“Come on. Let’s get back to practice!” Kuroo informed and all of you immediately went to your assigned place.
Practice went on–still between the Owl and Cat group. When Bokuto had to score against someone tall like Lev and Tsukishima, he didn’t kill the ball instead he hit it purposely against the block–returning it to the team for a more proper toss. Knowing how Hinata was hungry for development, surely he wouldn’t miss this.
After Bokuto managed to kill the ball with an intense straight towards the back line, he instantly approached him to ask about it. Soon, the game continued. This time, it was Lev who went for the score but managed to be soft-blocked by Akaashi. The last ball went to Hinata and you witnessed an absolutely underhanded way of blocking.
“Ah! Hey!” Bokuto screeched, also feeling the unfairness. “You guys are playing dirty!”
Hinata had to face three blockers above 185 cm with not a good toss.
“Nowhere to aim,” you muttered, narrowing your eyes in slight annoyance.
However, Hinata intended to face them–he hit the ball to Lev’s fingertips and it flew over before dropping to the inner-side of the opposite court. He jumped high enough and landed on his back instead.
“Shoyo-kun, you’re amazing!” running and kneeling beside him, you praised. Technically, you’re supposed to check on him but it flew over your mind for a second. “It’s an amazing block-out!”
“Did…you actually aim for that?” Kuroo questioned in disbelief. “That was an amazing wipe!”
“Well, I did aim for Lev’s fingertips.”
“What!?” Lev took a full offense in this.
Still, Bokuto was impressed by the lack of fear the younger had. The owl captain was showering him with praises as the rest of you watched from the sidelines. It went well until Bokuto proposed a ‘special move’–which made almost everyone dropped their beliefs, Hinata seemed to be excited by it though.

Headcanons for: “Haikyuu!!”

Darling With A Personality Like A Cat
_____
Pairing: Kageyama x Reader  |  Hinata x Reader
Request: “Safe and nsfw with Kags and Hinata and their darling who’s a bit like a cat: independent but docile and cuddly with those she really trusts. Poly preferred but not poly is okay too! -Anonymous”
Notes: Poly it shall be! Hope you like how it turned out. Heads up, yandere themes are ahead [18+, NSFW, Controlling, Protective, Cursing, etc.]
_____
Tumblr media
+ Hinata and Kageyama are complete opposites at time
+ On the surface, Kageyama shows a respect for your independent nature, while on another level he wishes you would depend on him a bit more
+  Hinata on the other hand hates when you do things on your own without him, and won’t hesitate to call you out
+ “Baby, that looks really heavy. Let me get that for you.”
+ “No, I’m good. I can do it on my own.”
+ Fuck he hates when you say that. Every time ‘I’m good’, leaves your mouth, Hinata wants to tie you up so you can’t do anything at all without him
+ “Baby, you’re so far away. Come sit closer to us, there’s plenty of room.”
+ “No thanks, I’m good. I’m comfortable over here.”
+ He didn’t care that you were comfortable over there. He wanted you comfortable curled up next to him and Kageyama
+ They love having you around and just having your attention on them
+ “We weren’t asking, now come and sit with us.”
+ At first they’ll be a safe distance away, giving you your space, but a bit longer and suddenly all of you are a tangled mess
+ Every time you laid with them, they felt complete. Nothing could compare to the feeling of your skin on theirs
+ And at first it may have felt a little weird to you, but eventually you started craving their touch as well, not even a blanket comparing to the feeling of being wrapped in their arms or being laid across their laps as their hands lovingly run up and down your body
+ Both of them have plenty of pictures of you asleep on top of them that they like to stare at whenever they’re apart from you
+ Whenever they come home exhausted from volleyball, you’re more than happy to return the favor and allow them to each place a head on your thighs as you run your fingers through their hair
+ Feeling them melt and hearing their gentle hums of satisfaction brings a warm feeling to your heart
+ Their naturally competitive nature doesn’t end on the courts. While they try to put their differences aside in front of you, sometimes that heated rivalry still manages to make its way home
+ Most of the time it’s small stuff
+ Wanting you to lay your head on one shoulder instead of the others
+ Wanting you to sleep more on one side
+ The only time their rivalry truly shows itself is in the bedroom
+ While Kageyama is more slow and sensual, eager to make you feel every part of him, Hinata will be the complete opposite
+ The orange-haired boy gets so excited he barely wastes any time prepping you, eager to be the first one to enter you
+ Not even an exaggeration, your clothes barely hit the floor before Hinata already began lining himself at your entrance
+ “Slow it down, Dumbass. You’re going to hurt her being as impatient as you are.”
+ “Shut up, Bakageyama. I don’t see you doing any better.”
+ “Damn, if you’re that fucking impatient. Maybe our little darling will be nice enough to suck you off while I get her ready. Does that sound like a plan baby?” Kageyama coos, shoving Hinata out of the way and lowering himself so he’s right between your thighs
+ You don’t know what switches in him exactly, but Kageyama becomes almost sadistic when it comes to pleasing you
+ Slowly dragging the tip of his hot tongue between your folds before flicking it against your clit
+ You bolt to cover your mouth in an attempt to suppress your moans, but it doesn’t stay there long before Hinata is standing over you, gently tugging your hand away
+ “Sorry, baby. Mind if I borrow that pretty little mouth of yours?”
+ There’s nothing Hinata loves more than watching you gag on his dick. You could be going a comfortable pace, slowly working your way up to taking all of him before suddenly he threads his fingers through your hair, using his grip as leverage while he shoves his dick to the back of your throat
+You immediately start choking. Your eyes going wide and watering as you go into a panic trying to push him off, but he doesn’t let up. Relishing in the feeling of your throat clamped around his dick and the look of panic in your eyes
+ “Hmm, too much for you to handle? Aww, poor baby.”
+ Its hard to focus on your choking when Kageyama isn’t showing your poor pussy any mercy
+ He tightens his grip on your thighs, lifting them up so he can delve even deeper inside you, nose pressed against your clit as his tongue is lapping at your juices like a dog
+ God is he even breathing??
+ You moan out in pure pleasure, the vibration transferring through Hinata’s dick, causing him to release a groan of his own
+ “Hey! Hmph… no fair. I… mmhmm..fuck…want a turn,” Hinata manages to get out, “I wanna make, Y/N feel good too.”
+ “Shut the fuck up and wait your turn.” Kageyama growls voice muffled from between your legs
+ It’s a rough start, but believe me, once they’re in sync, it’s over for you
+ You wake up the next morning covered in marks, each one wanting to outdo the other
+ Hickies, Bite Marks, Scratches, you name it
+ Each one a reminder of your boyfriends, and just how much they love you

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT DAISUGA AND CANON MOMENTS
Let’s appreciate these two for leading the team to the nationals (long post ahead)
Tumblr media
1. Their goals and hard work for the team:
Tumblr media
They’re always shown together planning for the team. When Asahi stopped playing volleyball, Noya got suspended, former coach Ukai stopped coaching. I felt bad for these two, they went through hard times as their captain and vice captain it’s their obligation to unite and guide the team. During their first year and second year they were used to failure and called flightless crows. Their expectations crumpled but they did not give up. It’s Daichi and Suga’s job to bring back the name of Karasuno to the nationals with the help of coach Ukai and Takeda, finally they made it to nationals, that’s why their former captain was so proud of them because they followed his words. When they didn't have their coach yet, they behaved as Karasuno’s temporary coaches (thank goodness Takeda’s an angel). Daichi was shown coaching the team in the first few episodes and Suga helped Tanaka bond Kageyama and Hinata. Suga questioned Daichi’s plan about the weird duo (Daichi’s a matchmaker) but after what Daichi said he helped the two bond and honed their skills.
In the HQ light novel “Melancholy of the third year student”, Asahi stated “with Sawamura leading the team and Sugawara taking care of the members, what could i possibly do to contribute” he witnessed Daichi and Suga walking together in the hallway; Asahi was impressed because of their dedication to guide the team to the nationals despite they’re in college prep class still they gave their best in guiding the team. Tanaka also acknowledged his senpais hard work that’s why he extremely respects his senpais, he was always there supporting the two. Coach Ukai madly respects Suga because he gave his setter position to Kageyama for the sake of the team and Daichi because he’s the best in motivating the team.
2. They know each other so well:
Tumblr media
Daichi has this proud mode when he talks about Suga. When he told the team that Suga’s an experienced setter he had this “Yes that’s my amazing setter” face and when Suga did that amazing spike he jumped like a kid. In the HQ light novel “Sugawara’s decision” this happened during the first training camp. Suga was anxious to tell Daichi of his plan to give his setter position to Kageyama. When Suga finally told Ukai about his decision, Daichi and Asahi overheard their conversation and promised to win any match as much as they can. When Suga stated “I think in order to win, the person we need right now is Kageyama” Daichi and Asahi expressed their concern because the three promised to step on the court together (i get so emotional when the 3rd yrs play together). Daichi was worried and he told Suga that they can do something about it. THIS IS ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE HQ LNs because of what Suga thought after their discussion “He was glad to have sawamura who accepted him the way he is, as his teammate” AND I FUCKIN LOST IT HQ LN SHOULD BE ANIMATED. Daichi supported Suga’s decision for the team, “Daichi was very certain of Suga who had been with him for the past 3 years”, he even stopped Tanaka from interrupting Suga’s monologue telling him to listen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember when Ukai announced the first lineup for dateko vs karasuno match and the shot was focused to Suga and back to Daichi; you can see Daichi did this weird eye thing glancing at Suga. Daichi’s proud moments of Suga were “I think you’ve revived too Suga” and “I’m glad you still want to fight” when he told Daichi “I do wish my tosses could’ve played a part in the victory”. When Asahi and Noya stopped coming to the team, the only members left were Suga, Daichi and the 2nd years. Suga also took the blame and Daichi was there for him. He was shown secretly listening to Yamaguchi and Suga’s conversation about the mop (and comforted him that he shouldn't blame himself. I’m kinda disappointed they didn't include this in the anime). These panels show their trust and respect for each other.
Tumblr media
He cant even dare to hurt Suga (but lets Suga punch him anytime) and he knows when Suga goes to overthinking mode. Also Suga knows Daichi so well i think i’m gonna cry. Scolding Daichi when he was not vocal during the game; Suga’s known for being the only one who can lecture Daichi. When Daichi told Suga and Asahi that it’s better to hand over the team to the 2nd yrs, Suga knew Daichi didn't mean that; Daichi felt hopeless because they lost again. He knew Daichi wanted to stay and play volleyball and step on the orange court.
Tumblr media
He’s also used to Daichi’s stern mode. Daichi was also shown being the one who can keep Suga in control like “Suga please calm down”. Their relationship isn’t fully conveyed in the anime but i’m thankful that creators created drama cds, light novels, extras, spin-offs and haikyuu stage play to let us know more about the characters.
 3. The team parents:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They always discuss about their team members like Suga asking Daichi about Kageyama and Hinata (kagehina bond ep) and Tsukishima. In the haikyuu drama cds “what if karasuno’s manager isn’t shimizu kiyoko” and “the reason behind the t-shirts” they were worried about entrusting the manager’s job to Tanaka, Noya and Hinata. When the team was hungry because Kiyoko wasn’t there, Suga told Daichi to take action so he assigned the weird duo to buy foods for the team and they were the ones who planned for the names of the shirts with the help of Noya, Kiyoko was pissed at the two because they were busy thinking of their own shirts. In the haikyuu light novel “the last summer vacation” (Sources: 1|2) Suga watched the team with worry on his face because it was so hot so he approached Daichi and expressed his concern that the team will get sick from the heat. Coach Ukai overheard the discussion and called a meeting. They’re usually seen together in every scene in the anime, stage play, haikyuu light novel, extras, manga, spin-offs and drama cds, scolding Tanaka, Noya, Hinata, Kageyama and Tsukishima; discussing volleyball stuffs; and buying pork buns for the team. In the lets haikyuu and extras (hq spin-off) it’s actually semi-canon they’re karasuno’s team parents. They also have this karasuno christmas bonding tradition.
Tumblr media
It was also STATED BY THE DIRECTOR IN THE HQ MAGAZINE AND THE VOICE ACTORS THAT DAICHI AND SUGA ARE THE TEAM PARENTS AND TANAKA’S THE BIG BROTHER (here are the links: 1| 2|3)
IT’S CANON!!!!!! IT’S DAMN RIGHT CANON!!!!!TEAM PARENTS DAISUGA IS CANON!!!!!!
 4. Teasing, bickering and just them being dorks:
Tumblr media
Suga teasing daichi is my jam. In the HQ LN “Yachi’s delivery mission” (Sources 1|2), this conversation frickin made me squeal like a mouse with laryngitis. After practice the team was thirsty and wanted something cold to eat. “It’s indeed hot, lets get ice pops before we head home” daichi stated then frickin SLY/LIL SHIT SUGA JUST CASUALLY SAID THIS REMARK “Oh that’s not a bad idea, are you going to treat us Daichi-san” HE FRICKIN ADDED -SAN. So the team didn't let the opportunity go away they screamed with joy and thanked Daichi. After what happened Daichi just glared at Suga who was smiling at him. Daichi’s a softie when Suga’s involved. Suga got Daichi to buy ice cream for the team.  I REPEAT HQ LN SHOULD BE ANIMATED.
Tumblr media
Daichi knows when Suga’s about to do something stupid and his antics. They argued about this. When Suga was mad at Daichi because he was implying that the last year shrine visit was nothing; he was so pissed he started fuming at daichi. Suga also told Daichi that steak just being steak is better over diced steak.  Hyped suga and daichi trying to calm him down is the cutest shit. In the HQ LN “Tokyo Expedition: Captains’ Meeting”(Sources: 1|2), Daichi warned Suga about Kuroo because he knows how to read minds and loves mind games and Suga was like ‘you need to chill Daichi’. When it was Suga’s turn to pick a card from Daichi’s deck he picked the joker and twitched his brows, Daichi whispered at Suga telling him whenever he drew the joker his brows twitch so Suga massaged his brows. I REPEAT AGAIN THIS SHOULD BE ANIMATED. The other captains and vice captains are competing against each other but look at these frickin idiots they are helping each other. DAICHI OBSERVING SUGA THEN WARNED HIM ABOUT HIS TENDENCY OF TWITCHING HIS EYEBROWS. IM GONNA FRICKIN DO A BACKFLIP. Also Daichi and Suga love to make fun of asahi but when you frickin hurt asahi these two will frickin punch you in the face. Frickin daisugasting dorks.
 5. They are always together and in sync:
Tumblr media
In the manga, anime, extras, stage play, light novel, drama cds and official art/merchandise they’re usually frickin together and always in sync, same reactions and thoughts. Remember when Daichi looked at Suga (S1 ep24) like he was asking for approval then Suga nodded. That was so cute ugh.
Extras:
Suga is 6 months older than Daichi. June 13 and December 31. Their birth dates makes me go WAIT WHAT.
Suga and Daichi’s name meanings are compatible.
During the christmas bonding time, Suga received daichi’s gift, a daruma. Daichi bought it as a gift because it weighs like a volleyball (he’s such a volleyball nerd) and he told Suga that they should draw the eye together. (Source link)
Suga thought that Daichi was jealous of his t-shirt because the phrase on his shirt was cooler than his. (Source link)
Suga’s first synchronize attack was a success and he tossed it to Daichi. Coach Ukai assigned these two along with Tanaka to learn synchronize attack.(Remember when Daichi told Suga he borrowed coach ukai’s tablet so they can watch the videos together)
The way they look at each other like there’s nothing else to look at.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I truly love about these two is their relationship and trust for each other. They complement each other, which makes them a good combination. They went through obstacles and look THEY MADE IT TO THE NATIONALS, kiyoko witnessed their progress and asahi thanked suga and daichi because they welcomed him again in the team, remember when asahi was not sure if they’d accept him to the team but daichi and suga were just laughing and made fun of him.
Their vice captain and captain interaction isn't fully expressed in the anime and i hope that everyone will appreciate them more! They made it to nationals! And them being proud of Hinata and Kageyama in the hq time skip is one of the best treasures Furudate sensei gave to us.
Lets talk about these two. Daisugasting volleyball idiots.
I rest my case.

Believe It, Baby
AHH HELLO I LIVE!! I am so sorry about my lack of publishing content besides some general community posts as of late - I’ve probably said this before but school is a buttface sometimes :// I’ve been really enjoying the new episodes of Haikyuu so I decided to finish a self indulgent fic to try getting back on track! Kinda like how it worked out so here it is!! Yes, it is Hinata again, how did you freaking know???
Pairing: Hinata Shoyo x Fem!Reader
Words: 2122
*******
“I don’t believe it for a damn second.”
The ginger under scrutiny groans for what seemed the eighth time that day, shooting his friend an exasperated look as they walk into the practice gym. “I swear, Kageyama! She’s in the college preparatory class with Yachi!”
At this, said blonde turns her attention to the entering duo with a curious tilt of her head.
“What’s this about someone in my class?” she inquires politely.
Kageyama glances at Yachi. “Hinata says that he’s dating one of your classmates, which I say is a bunch of crap.”
“How many times do I have to tell you, Bakageyama? I’m her boyfriend!”
Tsukishima scoffs from across the gym.
“Sounds like someone had too vivid of a dream last night,” he jeers, Yamaguchi snickering beside him.
Even Tanaka and Noya doesn’t seem to believe the aspiring ace, the former clapping a hand on Hinata’s shoulder with a philosopher’s air about him.
“It’s alright to be single, little man. You don’t gotta go and make something up to look cool.”
Hinata huffs before shuffling to set up the court for practice, while Sugawara takes his position as mother crow by smacking the troublemaker second years upside the head.
“I for one believe you, Hinata,” the silver haired setter declares, smiling when the first year boy beams with happiness.
“Thank you, Suga-senpai! At least someone here does.”
“Mind telling us what she’s like?” Daichi chimes in.
Hinata’s grin blossoms even wider, and his gaze turns excited. “She’s amazing, and really smart, and super competitive! And she’s...also really pretty…” he trails off in embarrassment.
Suga gushes at his flustered state, ruffling his kouhai’s mop of orange hair. “Look at you, all affectionate. She must be special.”
Yachi follows up with a nod of agreement at Sugawara’s statement, joining Hinata on the court for set up.
“If you don’t mind me asking, what’s her name?” the manager in training questions.
When the middle blocker tells her proudly, the remaining first year boys all bust out in laughter.
“Yeah, I’ll believe it when I see it,” Yamaguchi guffaws. “Isn’t she like one of the smartest students in our grade?”
Hinata nods affirmatively, and Tsukishima shakes his head with a dry laugh. “Try picking a more believable person next time, Hinata. There’s barely even a chance that you’ve ever crossed paths with her before, let alone dated the girl.”
Yachi, on the other hand, takes a moment to ponder on Hinata’s words, not even close to giggling like the rest of her fellow first years.
“You know,” she mumbles to herself, “that’s honestly not that far of a stretch, considering how outgoing she is.”
The orange haired boy offers her a weary half-smile for at least thinking he had a shot with who he claimed, but made no further attempt to emphasize that he was in fact dating said girl. It was clear that nearly none of the team would believe him without solid proof.
Coach Ukai grabs the team’s attention, and from then on leads a rotation of digging drills to help improve everyone’s foundational abilities. This format of training continues for most of practice, such routines making it easier for some of the boys (namely Tsukishima) to laugh about Hinata’s “attempt'' at having a girlfriend in line. Said middle blocker remains in a pouty mood due to such circumstances, but decides to keep it quiet for the time being - lest he dig a bigger hole in which his teammates could tease him.
Soon enough, practice for the day is over, and the Karasuno boys organize their things in the club room before filtering outside. As Hinata waits outside for the rest of his team to come downstairs, the whole team planning on making a stop at Ukai’s store, his phone screen lights up with a soft chime.
Hi sunshine! Did your practice just finish?
The first year smiles, knowing that you must have snuck him a text during your student council meeting, and quickly opens his phone to type something back.
Hi angel!! Yeah, we’re gonna get something at Ukai’s rn
Hinata playfully raises an eyebrow at your fast response, the chat bubble popping up right away. Usually you’re pretty invested in your club meetings, so today’s must be a pretty boring topic.
Wanna save me a meat bun pretty please 🥺
If there’s an extra I will <3
:D hehe thank u love
Tanaka’s voice breaks the ginger’s focus from his texts, the second year shouting about food as he ushers the team towards the school exit. Hinata tosses his phone into his practice bag and catches up with the walking group, his mood significantly improved from just minutes ago.
*****
The town is basked in the soft glow of street lights as the team makes their way down the hill to Ukai’s, currently unaware of a presence in a sprint to get to them.
Your fellow Student Council members had shot a bewildered look in your direction as you scrambled to pack up and hustle out the classroom door. You ushered a quick goodbye to them before stuffing your phone in your skirt pocket, determined to surprise your boyfriend after the council meeting ended early.
Maybe you were starting to regret the idea of running in the god-awful flats Karasuno High enforced in their dress code, but you pushed past the irritation in favor of keeping pace. That meat bun wouldn’t stay hot forever, you reasoned, but in reality the opportunity to see your shining boyfriend truly drove your motivation.
After finally getting a glimpse of a large group near the base of the hill, a spark of victory flames in your heaving chest at your persistence. With a heavy sigh, however, you realize that your competitive ball of energy was likely at the head of the bunch, racing that setter with whom he always argues. Your plight was not over yet.
So, attempting to reign in your eagerness to see the ginger haired boy of your affections, you continue the path down the quite steep hill, this time using the art of determined speed walking. The soles of those forsaken flats on your feet would not be forgiving if you started running again, anyways.
When you finally manage to close in on the team, Sugawara is the first to notice you, observing for a moment before nudging Daichi on his right. The Karasuno captain looks confusedly at his vice captain, the latter’s eyes holding a parent-like intuition.
“I think that’s her,” the silver haired third year murmurs, nodding his head in your direction as you make your way closer.
“Who’s her?” Daichi whispers back, and Suga looks like he’s about to karate chop him in the side.
“Hinata’s girlfriend, Dai!” he hisses. “Look at who she’s focused on.”
Daichi follows your gaze to find the little decoy first year at the end of it, causing him to raise an eyebrow in surprise. “So he really wasn’t pulling Kageyama’s leg.”
The two third years of Karasuno watch you with great interest as you inch your way to the front of their group, more of the boys taking note of your presence with the passing moments.
The only few who don’t seem to notice are the gaggle of first years in the front, many of whom are bickering with each other. Yachi is the only one in your grade to see you as she walks beside Kiyoko, and you give her a small wave before putting a finger to your lips. All she can do in response is nod, mouth slightly agape at the fact that you even acknowledged her in the midst of your pursuits.
“-If there’s an extra bun in the bag today I call dibs!”
“And since when have I ever listened to you, pipsqueak?”
“Who’re you calling pipsqueak, you giraffe!?”
You have to conceal your chuckle at the group’s antics. You’d been told a handful about the first years known as Hinata’s teammates, but had yet to formally meet them due to your consistently busy schedule. Today, you felt it was about time for that to change.
Yamaguchi picks up on you, followed quickly by Tsukkishima when his freckle-faced best friend notifies him with a tap on the shoulder. Even Kageyama, who somehow managed to get into yet another argument with Hinata, slows his banter as he gazes at you, completely bewildered.
The last person left in the dark is - of course - none other than your dumbass of a boyfriend.
“Why did you get so quiet all of a sudden?” the aspiring ace inquires. “It’s ‘cause you realized that I would win the argument anyways, huh?”
The boy jumps when he feels you sidle up next to him, brushing your arm against his own.
“Yes, sunshine, that’s surely the reason.”
The first year whips his head to face your playful smirk, before practically launching himself into you and trapping you in a bear hug.
“You surprised me!” he exclaims with a giddish grin, nuzzling into your figure.
“That was kind of my plan,” you laugh. “Student council meeting ended early, so here I am.”
Hinata didn’t seem to want to let go of you any time soon, so you resorted to taking his face in your hands and pecking his cheeks.
“You gonna introduce me or not, silly?”
The middle blocker was blushing like crazy at this point, reddening with the realization that his entire team was a current audience to the little show taking place.
“Guys, this is my girlfriend,” he gestures to you awkwardly, and you couldn’t hide the small smile that curls on your lips. “You’ve probably seen her with the Student Council before.”
You wave enthusiastically to the team, many of whom are still recovering from the newly confirmed discovery (namely, some very skeptical first years).
“So, he wasn’t joking?” Yamaguchi spoke up, eyes wide with disbelief.
“Aw yeah, Hinata!” Tanaka whistled, “Sorry that I ever underestimated you!”
“Good job, Shoyo!” Nishinoya affirms, jumping on his second year best friend in excitement. “She’s a cutie too!”
The first year squeezes your midsection tighter to your surprise, seeing as his face was practically steaming from previous team comments.
“She is cute,” he mumbles, and the unexpected statement elicits a laugh from your lips.
You tap the ginger’s nose playfully, bringing his attention to your content smile. The sight of it causes him to grin right back giddily, momentarily forgetting the larger group beside him once more. “Saved me a meat bun, Sho?”
He was like this whenever at the other’s house or on a date: mushy, cuddly, affectionate, the whole nine yards of fluffiness. Public spaces involving acquaintances, however, was a bit of a different story, as Hinata got very easily flustered in front of teasing friends. Even without meeting the other team members of Karasuno before, it was quite obvious.
“I always manage to when you ask,” he responds proudly, although a faint frown briefly appears on his features for a moment, “but Tsukishima’s being a bit of a jerk about it today.”
The blond in question sends his fellow middle blocker a look of annoyance, before his expression melts into a cheshire grin as he turns to you.
“Just didn’t want him eating too much, that’s all,” he explains. “Overindulgence isn’t a great habit for athletes, you know. But since you’re actually here and not a figment of Hinata’s imagination, that’s absolutely fine with me.”
“Hey! You saying I’m a pig or something?” the first year pipes up with a glare.
Tsukki smirks. “Or something.”
Sugawara steps in to lessen the obvious tensions between your feral ginger and the smug beanpole, giving them both a deathly glare that practically screamed, ‘don’t make me whoop your asses in front of a student council member’.
You giggled at the team’s dynamic, one that clearly resembled a rambunctious family on their nightly outing together. It really was just as you had imagined the first time your boyfriend described it to you - with maybe a bit more emphasis on the rambunctious than you had previously inferred. But it was actually quite enjoyable to be around.
As the group finally started on their way again after your surprise introduction, Hinata came up beside you once more with a curious glint in his eyes.
“What are you smiling all giddishly about?” he inquires, head tilted a fraction.
You can’t help but chuckle a bit at the question. “I just really enjoy being around your team is all.”
The aspiring ace of Karasuno interlocks his fingers with yours as you stroll along together down the street, his teammates in tow as they observe the situation before them with some remaining bewilderment.
“Good, cause I think they might like you too.”

How they meet their Darling (Yandere haikyuu!!)
Ushijima and Kageyama
Tumblr media
Kageyama
Kageyama is a man who doesn’t pay attention. To anything really.
Anything but Volleyball, that is.
It’s not until you are sitting next to him in class that he even knows you exist.
You give him a simple poke, and he jerks up, looks at you, and goes to lean back down.
“Aren’t you the setter for the volleyball team?”
“Yeah, why?”
“I just heard he didn’t pay attention, guess they were right.” You laugh to yourself, roll your eyes and go back to looking at your notes as the teacher drones on.
Kageyama puts his head back in his arms.
That was weird.
And the next day, when he’s strategizing for practice in his notebook.
“So what's the rest of the team like?”
“Annoying, why?”
“Just trying to start a conversation.” You sigh, and turn back to your own notebook.
“Ask me when I’m not thinking about volleyball.”
“Ok.” The conversation ends until Kageyama can stop thinking about volleyball.
You’ll find him when he does.
You don’t find him.
Maybe it’s because, contrary to popular belief, Kageyama is in fact, surprisingly, not more emotional or expressive than a brick wall.
But he’s stopped thinking about volleyball. For a few moments in class. While he’s looking at a tree, or when he sleeps.
Dreams that once were about setting the perfect spike, turn to you sitting in the bleachers, watching him set that damned spike.
That tree he’s looking at? You’re sitting under it, telling him that his form is almost perfect.
And in class?
He almost wants you to ask about how to set. How even you, could become a better volleyball player.
It gets bad. To the point where you and volleyball are synonymous. He can’t have one without thinking about the other.
He has a problem with you.
Or more, that he doesn’t understand why you aren’t at his games or aren’t under that tree talking about his posture.
And maybe? It’s a little bit a problem with why you’re always on his mind.
He doesn’t get why he feels warmth sitting near you.
You aren’t the rush he feels when he’s playing a match.
Yet his heart still beats faster.
He’ll ask you about it. He catches you after school, but he won’t be late for practice, you’ll come with him.
He finds you by that tree.
“Why do I feel warm when I’m near you?”
“Cause I’m really hot?” It’s a deadpan answer for a deadpan question. “I don’t know, why do you feel warm when I’m near you?”
“You should watch my games.” Your eyes widen and blink twice.
“What?”
“You wanted to know what the team was like right?”
“Sure, I guess,”
“Then come on.”
You sit in on a practice three v three.
It’s pretty intense, Hinata is playing against him, he’s setting some shots to be hit by Tanaka, Noya is rolling his thunder, all in all? A close game.
But Kageyama always comes out on top.
If it wasn’t for his pride, then maybe it was to impress you.
The you, who was now talking to a very excited Nishinoya.
The short Libero had apparently caught your eye with his flashy-as-all-hell style of playing.
But what was the point of you being here if you weren’t going to watch him?
In all his dreams and thoughts, you were watching him.
His chest aches when you don’t pay attention to him.
Kageyama just doesn’t feel complete.
He hears his knuckles crack before he feels it.
“Hey. Come with me.” He glares down at Nishinoya who just smirks right back at him.
You have the audacity to laugh.
“Yeah yeah, I’m coming,” you send a smile to Noya as you try to keep pace with Kageyama’s long legs. “We’ll continue our conversation later, yeah?”
“Yeah!” Nishinoya barely even gets through the word befor Kageyama slams the door to the gym.
No one is around, it’s just the two of you.
Kageyama’s ache goes away and his shoulders realesed tension that wouldn’t be good if they played another match.
“What were you doing in there?!” He’s aware he’s loud, but when isn’t he? This is normal. The only abnormal thing here is you and the way his heart beats around you.
“I was talking to Noya, got a problem with that?”
What didn’t he have a problem with? You were on a nickname basis with Nishinoya, you didn’t look at him at all during the game. And he still didn’t know why he felt so warm around you.
“Why didn’t you look at me?”
“I didn’t know I had to look at his majesty, the king.”
Well shit. It feels to natural for Kageyama to do this, like he’s setting for Hinata and they pull of their quick attack.
He punches you. A little above your gut. He watches as you stumble back and clutch your chest. The way you breath to get air makes him feel a little colder inside. That’s not right.
“What. The. Fuck!” You take a breath after yelling at the top of your lungs. “Kageyama, what the fuck, why’d you hit me?” You take a few more breaths and another step back.
Why are you yelling at him again? Because he tried to let you know that you should look at him? Not Nishinoya?
Looking at him would improve his game. Telling him he was almost perfect would improve his game. Yelling, looking at others and cussing? Oh the cussing would not improve his game. He’s fairly certain that is someone were to cuss loudly as part of a chant, they’d be kicked out of the gym.
And he can’t have that now. You have to watch him.
For the whole game.
“Talk to me asshole! I might be willing to let it slide i-” his arm moves on it’s own, fingers wrap harshly around skin.
You’re relatively light as it so turns out.
“Don’t cuss, it’ll be a shit ton to deal with in games.” Your hands pull at his wrist desperately.
Your eyes are pleading with him and he feels a jolt up his spine as he watches you struggle, mouth open, nostrils flaring.
“And don’t look at anyone else. Got it?” You take a few more gasps. He’s not being to harsh is he? He’s being firm, and that’s good when your talking to people. You nod furiously in response to his demands.
He releases you from his grasp and you immediately drop onto the sidewalk, one of your hands goes to rub at your neck while the other is splayed on the ground. You take shallow breaths as Kageyama just watches.
Eventually you sit up, and the hand on the ground cups the part of your stomach he hit.
“When-” You take a deeper breath the time, exhaling through your mouth. You’re looking at the sky. “When is your next game?”
“February 18th. I’d like you to be there.” He tries to offer a smile, the kind his Sister told him weren’t creepy.
“Ok,” you nod quickly. For a small second, Kageyama’s eyes meet yours.
He feels warmer than he normally did with you, and he can hear his heartbeat.
“Please uhhh,” He can feel the blush on his cheeks. “Call me Ka-Kageyama.”
“Kageyama?” Your eyes aren’t so wide as you look at his shoes.
He nods and leaves for the rest of practice, you don’t follow, but that’s alright. You’ll find him.
You do find him.
And the next day when he doesn’t see a bruise around your neck, he feels a little bad.
You would’ve looked cute with a dark purple handprint on your neck.
Tumblr media
Ushijima
You should’ve gone to Shiratorizawa.
Really, you should’ve.
Being an assistant manager to Kurasuno was just going to drive you insane. When he first saw you, you were in the thick of some team discussion.
They were taking a break in between the sets, and Kurasuno was still bickering over how they were to play the game.
You were trying to act as a voice of reason, talking over the others in a calm manner and asking your team to “please take turns speaking”
In true Crow-like fashion, they continue to caw loudly until their coach yells for their attention.
He thinks you’re cute, how you thank the coach with your embarrassed, red cheeks.
But he has a game to finish and win. And then he can see how cute you are when you comfort Kurasuno.
Shiratorizawa wins easy, between Ushijima and the orange haired kid? Ushijima would clearly come out on top.
Ushijima watches as you look with such empathy in your eyes.
You look like you’re about to hug each of the Team. And then, you do.
He’s right, you really are cuter after he beats the crows.
It’s fucking adorable how you furrow your brow and bite your lip as you comfort someone who’s crying.
He wishes he could hear the tender shush you give the person, and though he hasn’t heard your voice he can picture you so clearly with a child in your arms and singing lullabies. He’s standing in the doorway and you smile up at him.
He smiles back.
And your hugging the Kurasuno boys like he’d want to hold you, so tender and delicate when you catch his smile.
You give an affirmative nod and smile before you hug a teammate.
It almost like he’s being pushed forwards to walk over towards you.
You manage to pat the next boy on his shaved head before you give a little wave, say some words and walk over to Ushijima.
You meet in the middle of the  gym.
“I figured I should talk to you away from the team, I’m sure they’d have a-a reaction, to your being there.” You shoot a worried glance behind you towards the boys who have a similar expression on their faces.
“Yeah, you’re probably right.”
The two of you stand in silence, both of your teams are trying to ignore you.
“So-” You begin to speak before Ushijima rests a large hand on your shoulder.
“You’re cute.” He doesn’t give compliments he doesn’t mean. You are the cutest damn thing he’s ever seen.
“I-oh! Thank you!”
Your teams are a mixed bag of staring at the two of you, and the ceiling.
“Was that all?” You speak up first, and aren’t unkind with your intonation.
“Yes,” Ushijima looks down at you, and once again, gives a small smile.
“My team is eager to play against you next time, good luck,” You have a smile brighter than the sun. “Shiratorizawa is gonna need it!” A laugh that carries lighter than the wind too.
Ushijima just nods again and has to tear his eyes away from your lips.
The team is completely silent before he returns.
Goshiki is starry eyed as Ushijima stands there listening to Tendou’s ramblings and the rest of the team just watches that shit go down.
Soon after, the Kurasuno team starts packing up to leave.
“I’ll run back.”
“Is it because you want to talk to that person?” Semi sounds exhausted.
“More or less.”
Ushijima tunes the white noise from his team yes out for a second, before he hears a sharp “Dissmissed!” From Coach Washijo.
He immediately turns around to try and look for you.
The only people left in the gym are Kurasuno’s setter and the kid with Orange hair. You’ve gone somewhere else.
“Where’s your assistant manager?”
“Oh they’re talking to someone!” Orange hair. “They told you we’d beat you next time, and we will!”
“You won’t.” And Ushijima walks out of the doors of Kurasuno’s gym.
He sets a light jog, maybe once he’d find you he’d ask you on a date?
Or maybe, he’s ask you to be his partner. Regardless, he should sure you get home safely.
He finds you with little difficulty, you’re barely off campus and smiling at your phone as you wait to cross an intersection.
“Hey.”
You jump at the sudden intrusion of his voice, and take out an earbud he didn’t notice you had in.
“Oh, hi!” You flash him your third smile of the day. He can feel his heart swell in his chest. “Are you running home?”
“Yes.”
“Have a nice run!” And the intersection clears for you to put your earbud back in, and continue on your route home.
He takes a breath, waits a second and jogs at a slower pace behind you.
“So, why are you going this way, isn’t Shiratorizawa the other direction?”
“Yes.” You look at him with wide eyes. “I get more exersize this way.”
“Oh! I get it, like when Asahi goes on his runs and decides to take detours through trees!”
“Who’s Asahi?”
“He’s our Ace, the tall guy with the bun.”
“Huh.”
“Enjoy your run, you’re gonna need it for the next time you play against us!” Your wind chime laughter echoes in his ears as you wave him a goodbye.
You’re taking a left.
Ushijima takes a left.
You either hear his footsteps or see his shadow, because you turn around.
Your lips aren’t being bitten, your brow isn’t furrowed but you look like you did during the match.
You look worried.
“Listen, I know you probably didn’t pick up on it and you seem really nice, but I’m not really looking for a relationship right now. Please, stop following me.”
“Ok.” It isn’t a setback. Ushijima will be with you eventually. It must’ve been those rowdy crows. They’re incompetent and altogether too used to roughhousing. Of course you wouldn’t want a relationship when those were the kind of people you were around, it made all volleyball players seem immature.
Ushijima is not immature.
“O-oh!” You smile again, almost like you took off a mask you had been wearing. “Normally that goes a lot less smoothly. Thanks for understanding!”
“Can I walk you back to your home?”
“As friends right?”
“As friends.” The words taste bitter on his tongue but it’s a necessary step. Like getting manure before you plant your crops.
“Thank you again for understanding!”
It’s an easy enough walk, about two blocks away.
Too quickly are you at the door to your home.
Too soon do you thank Ushijima for understanding your situation and close the door behind you.
Too slowly does Ushijima notice the man walking towards your door.
Tall with a bun.
Kurasuno’s Ace.
Whatever his name was.
“Hello.”
“Oh uh, hey!” He sounds a little meek.
“I walked them home.”
“Uhh thanks man,” The Ace scratches his neck as he walks by Ushijima. “Have a nice day I guess,” The man emits an awkward laugh, and knocks quickly on your door.
It opens, and your eyes are the sun and moon to him.
You hug the man in front of you, quickly drawing him inside the house with what Ushijima thought was an “I missed you,”
Oh.
You lied.
Well, Ushijima could live with that, but maybe when he married you, you wouldn’t be allowed to leave the house.
If you lied to him now, at the beginning of your relationship, how comfortable would you be lying to him when married?
And Kurasuno’s Ace.
It wasn’t like he hadn’t beaten him before.
It would be just like last time.
Kurasuno wouldn’t win.
--
A/N Ok, I've been absent for about two days, sorry about that I hope this is a good tide over till I get my first batch of requests done! I don’t have a time period for when they’re done, but I hope soon! Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

FIRST KISS HEADCANNONS
[ft. hinata shoyo, kageyama tobio, tsukishima kei, yamaguchi tadashi]
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: you and the boys have your first kiss and its... well its something.
WORD COUNT: 2.4k
WARNINGS: second hand embarassment, first kiss stuff, season three spoiler
A/N: why do i always simp for emotionally unavailable men? but i like this it makes me happy aksdhkjsha
Tumblr media
HINATA SHOYO
Tumblr media
as we all know, hinata is an energetic baby
like really energetic, calm tf down man
anyways there are two possible situations
hinata gets over excited after making a really good spike while practicing with you or maybe he wins a game, and he kisses you.
OR, alternatively, he is blabbering on and on about volleyball and one of his games and you kiss him and hes just like
:O
not experienced, unless you count that one girl in kindergarten.
he is VERY eager and wants to please you so he’ll probably learn pretty fast but it takes him a while to understand what you like because hes slow
but once he gets it?
oh hes got it
Is all over you 24/7 once you two kiss for the first time
VERY affectionate, this is his love language you cannot stop him
unless you say no, he’ll get sad but he drinks his respect women juice
no matter what, when you two first kiss, he is going to be embarrassed, and instead of an orange he will be a TOMATO
he is going to apologize to you, even if you kissed him, it’ll be awkward no matter what
Tumblr media
Y/N didn’t know what she expected studying with Hinata to be like, of course she did believe that there would be actual studying. He had started out by telling her how he could absolutely not fail his upcoming tests, or else he wouldn’t be able to play volleyball, and this turned into more talks about volleyball. And more talks about volleyball.
It had been about an hour and they had yet to get anything done.
The way his eyes lit up made her happy, truly. She knew how much volleyball meant to him. When she met him in middle school she saw how desperately to be on a real team, and now that he was its only natural to be excited. Maybe his passion was the reason she liked him so much.
But Y/N really needed him to shut up or else he wouldn’t be playing any volleyball and she would be stuck with his moping. His passion was pretty annoying at the moment.
What better way to shut up your crush than with a kiss?
It had been an accident, truly. When her lips found his in the midst of one of his speeches about volleyball and how great it felt to actually be playing, she genuinely thought it was the best way to silence him. And she was right.
She surged forwards, lips meeting his, barely giving him enough time to respond before pulling back. Y/N’s cheeks warmed as she brought the textbook up to cover her face, “we need to work.”
Hinata’s mouth gaped open.
She kissed him.
She kissed him.
She kissed him.
Suddenly he’s yanking the textbook down from in front of her face and pulling her forward by the shirt, lips crashing together as she falls forward into his lap with a grunt of surprise. She brings her hands to his shoulders to support herself before pulling away.
This time Hinata is bright red, “I’m so sorry Y/N! I-”
Y/N quickly realized she wouldn’t be comforting him because of volleyball as she leaned forward to kiss him again.
Tumblr media
KAGEYAMA TOBIO
Tumblr media
so um
this mans is either gonna be SCARY SMOOTH
this is mostly by accident, completely unintentional but wow
or you kiss him and he thinks he dreamed that stuff up and tries to like pinch himself in the midst of the kiss while you’re there like ???
will blush but only after the fact not during
has not kissed anyone or thing aside from a volleyball
when y’all kiss the first time he is gonna wanna do it again
and again
and again
hes trying to figure out what you like and hes GOOD AT IT
very talented despite never having kissed anyone
a quick study
Would definitely want advice from his teammates on kissing, but no one in his year
they’d all bully him, ahem tsukki
aside from bb yamaguchi he’d be like “you can do this!”
so naturally he goes to the guys who know everything about girls!
Tanaka and Nishinoya :,)
poor bb
they’d tell him all these bad pick up lines but there are also some valuable lessons learnt from observing his seniors like worshipping the ground you walk on just as they do for kiyoko
Tumblr media
Y/N was beginning to regret her decision to babysit with Kageyama. Sure, he was cute. And sure he was nice and adorable and awkward. And sure he was her crush, but he was also distracting and she could only watch one child at a time. He’d asked for her help, and she’d agreed, because what could possibly go wrong?
A lot, apparently.
They’d managed to get the kids to sleep, and the baby monitor on the coffee table beside them had yet to make a noise. Kageyama had gone to the kitchen, while Y/N sat on the couch, attempting to relax after having dealt with demons that were referred to as children. She watched as Kageyama entered, two mugs in hand, “hot chocolate.” Is all he said.
Y/N smiles at him, her exhaustion evident on her face as she accepts the cup gratefully, “thanks.” She laughs a little to herself, “of course you like hot chocolate.” She mumbled, taking a sip of her drink.
Kageyama tilted his head at her in response, “what do you mean?”
She places her drink on the coffee table, “well its warm chocolate milk. And you love milk.” Came her response.
He nods in agreement, “I suppose you and milk have something in common.” And Y/N laughs softly at this comment as he sips his milk nonchalantly.
And then it hits her, causing her to choke on her own drink.
Kageyama didn’t necessarily know how to talk to girls, but with her, it was just easy. Like volleyball, being with her felt like Volleyball. Of course, flirting was something Kageyama had never attempted and he wanted to do it right, so naturally he went to get some advice from some of his teammates. He’d never seen Nishinoya and Tanaka look so happy. Luckily, Sugawara had stepped in before they’d done any permanent damage, and here he was.
This was not the outcome he expected as he put his own drink down in a panic, eyes wide as he quickly came to her side, patting her back. She coughs once more before speaking, “I’m sorry what. Did I hear you right because-” She paused, realizing how close they were, his hand on her lower back now and her hand on his shoulder.
Kageyama cleared his throat, “can I.. uh can I kiss you?”
She nearly didn’t respond, voice caught in her throat, but quickly nodded her head when she realized he was awaiting her answer. His other hand came up to her cheek and she met his gaze, nodding once more.
And then they kissed, her hand gripping his shoulder as she tried to pull him closer, though it didn’t last long as they broke apart. Y/N beamed at him, laughing happily as she threw her arms around him and buried her head in his neck, his back fell onto the couch as his hands circled her waist, pulling her closer, a soft smiling forming on his face.
Y/N brought her head up from his neck and pressed another kiss to his lips, hand finding its way into his hair.
“Kageyama, I’m thirsty, could you get me water?”
Kageyama bolted upwards, forehead bumping Y/N’s before she rolled off him and onto the floor, grunting as she made contact and rubbing her likely soon to be bruised head.
“Oh my god-”

TSUKISHIMA KEI

just wants you to be his partner :,)
yamaguchi bullies him into confessing calls him a whimp and hes like damn yamaguchi got a spine now? yamaguchi definitely ROASTS HIM FOR NOT TELLING YOU AJKSDH
has probably kissed like one person, he’s a decent kisser that picks up signals really well
is smooth, like screw you tsukki my heart cannot HANDLE IT
emotionally available for you and you alone!! and maybe yamaguchi
Tumblr media
If it had been anyone else, Tsukishima would’ve told her to shut up and let him walk home in peace. If it had been anyone he wouldn’t have even been here, he would’ve turned right about two blocks ago and headed home.
But it was Y/N, and he hadn’t turned right two blocks ago, instead he’d taken off his jacket and silently handed it to her when he’d noticed she had been shivering.
And now he was listening to her talk about how stupid their math teacher was and how she was about to fight him for taking a point off even though she had gotten the question right. Her excessive hand gestures nearly hitting him in the face a few times.
“I’m starting to seriously reconsider coming to Karasuno, honestly this man has the audacity to question my academic ability when I’ve been at the top of his class for-”
“I’m starting to seriously reconsider liking you.”
A noise of shock escaped her and she faltered in her steps, stumbling forward and nearly falling flat on her face had Tsukishima not caught her.
Y/N’s mouth gaped open as her hands rested on his biceps, and his on her waist, his brow raised as she looked up at him before looking away, red evident on his cheeks as she smirked. “I could say the same.”
He scoffed, “you just tripped because I told you I liked you.” He leaned closer to her, a small gap separating them, “I’d say you still like me.”
Y/N raised a brow, “you sound pretty confident.”
He smirked, hands around her waist pulling her closer before pressing his lips to hers. Her hands rising up to his neck, Y/N breaks the kiss, smiling at him. “God you’re such a nerd.”
Tsukishima simply rolls his eyes, flicking her forehead as she yelps.
Tumblr media
YAMAGUCHI TADASHI
Tumblr media
rip you and him 2020
either you kiss him and he freaks the hell out
or he kisses you and immediately starts apologizing for ever being born
either way homeboy is gonna freak out
probably kissed a girl in spin the bottle once and nearly cried because of it, but he has very little experience
would tell tsukishima he likes you and get bullied
if he seeks advice he would probably go to tsukishima even though hes just as clueless he just acts cool its a facade
tsukishima would just tell him to quit freaking out over it
“just tell her how you feel, idiot”
he would probably tell you about yamaguchi’s feelings if he thought you felt the same
would likely prefer to suffer in silence with his “unrequited” feelings, than tell you and get rejected
homie does not think you like him like that
he just doesn’t think its possible for an angel like you to like him
hes perfect and deserves everything and would TREAT YOU RIGHT 10/10 he observes nishinoya and tanaka and FOLLOWS THEIR LEAD
first kiss is definitely awkward but once hes comfortable it’ll get better i swear man his game just give him a chance
Tumblr media
Y/N was getting tired of this. How many times had she shamelessly flirted with Yamaguchi? How many times had she practically shoved in his face that she liked him. Sure, she hadn’t said. it up front, but she figured her previous tactics would have some sort of effect on him, and they did, he got incredibly flustered, but there was no sign he understood what she was saying.
So what better way to let him know that she liked him than to kiss him? Thats about as forward as you can be? Right? Right.
As they closed the gym together, she was wondering if maybe this was the best plan. Maybe he didn’t like her back, maybe this would ruin their friendship, maybe it was better to just... not.
Y/N watched as he locked the gym doors, turning to her, “alright, all done,” his freckled cheeks were pink as he continued, “thanks for staying behind to help me.”
She smiled softly at him, nodding, “of course.” Y/N extended her hand to him, “shall we?”
He looked away as he grasped her hand, trying to his the deepening red of his cheeks as she pulled him along for their walk. Or at least, what he thought was their walk, because she yanked his hand, effectively pulling him closer to her and allowing her to press her lips to his.
His brain seemed to short circuit as his eyes widened, and she quickly pulled away, “I’m sorry.” She laughed awkwardly as she stared at him, releasing his hand. “We should probably go...” She trailed off avoiding his gaze.
Yamaguchi quickly realized he needed to do something, quickly reaching forward to grab her hand, causing him to stumble and fall, bringing her down with him. He grunted as his back hit the pavement, Y/N falling on top of him, their heads knocking together causing her to groan. He opened his mouth, at a loss for words, as she pushed up on his chest, trying to get up, but he pulled her back down. “What the hell Yamaguchi?”
He swallowed nervously, “can you- do you think you could kiss me again?” He mumbled.
Y/N’s mouth gaped open, though it soon turned into a smirk, “of course I can.”

Some Haikyuu!! Creative characterizations I did while sad and bored to make myself feel better, approved by a good friend of mine! These will basically just be the main boys I have a crush on, but I will include some other characters I think can fit as well. (if you were to really tweak it)
Will be totally honest, some of these are probably kind of bad but they make me happy. So, really, how bad can they be?
Tumblr media
The Husband: Bokuto Koutarō
~Daichi, Iwazumi, Osamu, Ushijima~
A Big man who would do anything for you whether you asked or not, whether it was truly necessary or not. He will do it. No fucks given. The kind of handsome you may not notice immediately, but when he does really catch your eye, you will fall on your face in the middle of the gymnasium. It’s the little things that take your breath away. The furrow of his brow, the curve of his mouth, the clench of his jaw. Caring, warm hugs and whispers in your ear. Cozy blankets, romantic movies, and the cup of tea he makes you in the morning when he wakes up before you. A porch swing and sunsets in various shades of yellow, orange, and purple. There are pictures of you two everywhere around the house. Long term plans and cooking together. He listens, he cares, how could he not? You listen, you care, how could you not? Loves hard, loves you harder. Nobody in the world like him. Nobody in the world for him except you. And neither of you would have it any other way. Not in a thousand years.
The Home Wrecker: Nishinoya Yū
~Mattsun, Tendō, Atsumu, Terushima~
A spicy man who can get it anytime he wants. Doesn’t even have to be anything physical, it could just be your attention, your time, anything he can get his hands on, he’ll take it happily. If he were a conversation, he would be the kind that lasts for hours and feels like minutes. You’d be breathless but laughing, enraptured in words that you don’t even think about before responding to. The kind of talk that leaves you empty when it’s over. Hot in a way that fogs up a room and features you can’t quite forget no matter how hard you try (or don’t). A sugar crash as a person. When he leaves, it feel like coming down from a high, but damn it all if it wasn’t worth every sugary second. And, shit, do you have a sweet tooth. You’d risk heaven and hell for him and with every night together, you get closer to throwing it all away just to rebuild it with him later.
The Boyfriend: Kuroo Tetsurō
~Suga, Semi~
One of the best men you might ever get your hands on and he damn well knows it. Knows the effect he has on you and uses it to his advantage every time and anytime he can. He's the kind of attractive that draws your attention immediately and holds it long enough for you to get caught staring at his hair, eyes, jaw, grin, everything. He stares at you too and you know it, he doesn’t try to hide it. His blunt statements and a quirked eyebrow, probably makes puns under his breath and later out-loud just for you. Sweet comments about the little things you do is his love language. He holds your hand as you introduce him to your parents and vice-versa. The picnics, and study dates that turn into making out and movie nights. You never quite leave the honeymoon phase and that’s quite okay with you two. He’s in Polaroid pictures that you will always grin at.
The What-Could-Have-Been Bestfriend: Tanaka Ryū
~Yamaguchi, Kenma, Lev, Hinata~
He’s the man you’ve known forever, the friend, no, best friend, who you might’ve fallen for at one point or another, and who might’ve felt the same. But was either too scared, or couldn’t find the perfect time. His smile lights up a room, and your day, not to mention when he laughs. No matter what, you find yourself mirroring them when they happen. It’s reflex for you. He always did his best to make you laugh, to see your smile. He doesn’t know know who he’d be without it. You notice your breath catching on these things. And, maybe, his did too. He’s Mario cart competitions late at night and sleepovers that last for weeks until one of you has to kick the other out. He’s snack food runs, pinky promises, and bad jokes you run out breath over anyway. You’ve been to every game, he probably wouldn’t go if you didn’t, just ‘cause it wouldn’t be the same. You probably made that promise that if you’re thirty and not married, you’ll marry each other. You both danced around each other for weeks, months, maybe even years. But nothing became of it. He’s endearing smiles when no one's looking and imagined scenarios that will never happen. He’s your biggest “what if?” And you’re his.
That Fucking Ex: Tsukkishima Kei
~Atsumu, Suna, Kageyama (?), Oikawa~
The man you’re not totally sure if you hate or not, and you’re not sure if he hates you or not. There’s no avoiding the other, even after the breakup, so you stopped trying. And you realized he never tried at all. You’re not sure if he pisses you off or not quite yet, but you get a churning feeling in the pit of your stomach every time you see him. His sarcastic comments when you pass him in the hallway or at that party you just knew he’d be at. No one knows if he’s flirting or insulting, especially not you. Drunk kisses and one night stands you only really half-regret. I-Need-A-Pick-Me-Up texts and “fuck you 😀” are the only thing in his messenger from you and the other way around. You say you hate him but that line is so blurry you’re not totally sure there even was one in the first place. Arguing over stupid shit when his mother invites you over for Sunday dinner. Hookups after a party the two of you never mention but never say it’s the ‘last time.’ He’s cornering you when he finds you with someone else and you’re stalking his social media. You both probably get off on yelling at each other. You’re two sinking ships who can’t do anything but watch as the other disappears under the water.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for reading! If you have any suggestions about what characters fit where I’d love to here them! And thank you to my good friend who proofread and edited this for me because I’m blind as shit.

I HAVE A REQUEST!! i saw you were a new writer and decided to help start you off sort of🥺i’ve never requested anything before so please bear with me. maybe kageyama (literally love him) with a genius setter gf just like him👀 i literally have no plot but if you need one i can try and come up with one 😭😭
Kageyama x His Ultimate Setter Dream Girl ✨
———————————
A/N: Thank you sooo much for requesting and helping me start off!! I definitely do not need a plot it’s optional on your part so what you sent is perf! Kageyama is lowkey bae so I hope you like it!! This is your meeting and depending on if you like it I may do a part 2 of how they are when they actually date!
———————————
It all started when, during Nationals, Hinata convinced Kageyama to accompany him to the other side of the complex to watch the girls play
Hinata had a few friends that he promised to go and watch from back in middle school when they allowed him to practice with them. Plus he owed them a thank you
“Shōyōōōōō!!!!! Ouuuuuu are you guys going to watch the girls?! NICE! Can we come?!” Nishinoya pleaded standing up from where they were sitting in the bleachers. Tanaka was right beside him pleading too as always.
Before Hinata could agree Daichi who was sitting behind them—glowered at Yuu and Ryu and pulled them back down by their shirts.
“Absolutely not.” The captain said sternly. “These two knuckle-heads already got banned from the girls side of the complex.” He glared at the two second years who cowered immediately.
Kageyama shook his head at his upperclassmen. “I don’t even want to know......” he mutters under his breath before following a skipping Hinata.
Kageyama went despite the fact that he was a little bored by volleyball if he wasn’t watching future opponents
he could use the break and they had time to kill anyway so no harm no foul
SIKE. Prepare for a lot of harm and a smidge of foul. He didn’t expect to see you there
Kageyama and Hinata found a great spot on the above bleachers and Hinata pointed to the team you played on since he knew you.
“There! Number 14! That’s Y/N — she’s in our year can you believe—“
Kags’ jaw dropped
He definitely didn’t hear Hinata anymore once his eyes stopped on your numbered jersey
Listen... I know in most teenage boys minds they think something similar to ‘omg there’s a hot girl!! look at her hair look at her legs look at her rack’ but when Kags saw you he didn’t see any of that
Well, not immediately.....
Instead, he was completely captivated by your playing style.
Tobio couldn’t help but think that if Karasuno were crows then you must be a freaking unicorn. Your technique was outrageously unique that incorporated back sets so beautiful that made you seem unreal......much like a unicorn.
The way you played is like you are pulling off miracle sets time and time again... except you made them look easy
Your wrist motion was captivating
Your spiral-stops were perfectly executed
The setter plays you called were impeccable
“She’s better than me....” Kageyama whispered to no one in particular. He doesn’t even realize he said it. Hinata just gaps at him before nodding and adding a “Duh.”
Hinata honey don’t write your death wish this isn’t death note
Good thing Kags was too distracted by your playing
He was a goner okay. Watching you play was slightly short of erotic
The way you adjusted to each one of your spikers was unprecedented
The blocks you made were clearly highly calculated
Your setter dumps were even enough to make him whimper under his breath. Kageyama had to punch Hinata so he would stop asking why he just made that sound.
Kags’ mind was—as Hinata would say: KA-BLOOM 💥— or way out of his depth here
And to make matters worse.....when you finally stopped playing and joined your team to celebrate your victory, Kageyama’s “I’M A MALE” instincts finally kicked back in as he realized just how breathtakingly beautiful you are.
He was able to suppress it because he was captivated by your playing style but now that you weren’t playing--a tidal wave hit him with the ‘omg there’s a hot girl!! look at her hair look at her legs look at her rack’ thoughts......
To make matters EVEN worse x2 his eyes bugged out when he realized you were the co-captain.
“A-first year???? Captain????” His eyebrows met in the middle in disbelief.
Hinata beamed. “Yup! Y/N is rated the #1 setter in the country for high school girls. She taught me how to set. She’s awesome and such a people person they would be stupid not to make her captai—hey!”
Kageyama was up and out of his seat in an instant. He pulls Hinata out of the stands by his arm.
“You will introduce me. Now.” His mind: Goddess.
Hinata whined like a toddler until Kageyama let him go. Shōyō rubbed his arm while pouting, saying that all Kageyama had to do was ask nicely since he was going to say hi to you anyway.
Kageyama waits on the court for your team to collect their things. He couldn’t take his eyes off of you and he felt his heart start pounding
You were quite possibly the best setter he’s ever seen at a tournament. Oikawa would quake in his boots
Kageyama suddenly felt rage at the idea of ladies-man Oikawa taking any interest in you. Whoa, that was weird. He hasn’t even met you and he’s already feeling some type of way
Anyway, you tell your team to take their lunch as you walk off the court. You look around hoping to find your friend Hinata that you haven’t seen since middle school!
Out of the corner of your eye you spot a familiar orange ball jumping up in the air and waving his hands. He was yelling your name and people were shooting him dirty looks. Smiling, you held your bag closer to your shoulder and jogged over to your old friend “Hi Shōyō!”
You hugged him and listened to him go on a rant about how good you were and how much he thanks you for teaching him how to play until someone clears their throat rather loudly.
You look over and see a taller boy in the same uniform as Hinata looking pointedly annoyed with Hinata’s blabbing. He had dark hair, dark eyes, and frankly his entire demeanor was dark
But was he ever HOT AS HELL DAMN (you would opt for never seeing light again if that meant you could bask in his darkness)
You stared at him for a little until Hinata spoke
“Oh right. Y/N, this is my scary setter Kageyama. He really wanted to meet you—“
Kags turned red at Shōyō’s last words which took you back. This mean-looking totally attractive guy just blushed?! And he wanted to meet you? Why???
“Hi, I’m Y/N.” You put your hand out for Kageyama to take and he did, staring at you intently.
You would be lying if you didn’t feel butterflies. Neither of you said anything you just got lost in each others gaze.
“So! Kageyama here is in our year too. He’s the one I told you about that I played and he was so rude... otherwise known as the king of the—hey!”
Bumping him into next week with his hip, Kageyama pushed Hinata out of the way roughly.
So you know how every time Kags meets a great setter he creepily bombards them with a string of setter questions in order to get better ? It’s like automatic for him
Ya well there are no exceptions to that rule
He doesn’t care that you’re a girl— he doesn’t care that you’re the sexiest girl he’s ever met— the boy is a robot when it comes to the setter position and so he lets it loose just like he did when he spoke to Kenma for the first time after the first crow vs. cat game : speaking so fast that he sounded like he was speaking in tongues:
“HowLongHaveYouBeenASetter?WhoTaughtYouHowToBeASetter?WhatWouldYouCallYourStyle?HowDidYouSetter-DumpLikeYouDidInTheFirstSetLikeThatEvenThoughThose2BlockersWereInFrontOfYou?YouCanPass,SetAndSpikeSoWhyDidYouChooseSetting?HowAreYouNotTheTallestButYourJumpSetIsSoPrecise?WhatTypeOfTrainingRegimenDoYouDo?HowLongDidItTakeYouToBeTheBest?WhatDoINeedToDoToBecomeLikeYou? Will you please let me take you out on a date next weekend?!”
shocked, half because Kageyama is still shaking your hand while he speaks like he doesn’t know what sentence pauses are, the other half shocked because you think he just asked you out?!
“Umm......” Your mind tries to catch up with your body that just increased to an incredibly high degree.
Kageyama gives you a look of determination that makes you gulp. You recognize that look. You know that look. All setters know that look. It’s the look of determination when we tell ourselves that we will not lose this game. A shiver ran through you when you realized it was you that he was so determined to win.
A game, huh?
Meanwhile, in Kageyama’s mind... though he realized that he asked every setter question under the sun like he always does — the asking you out part was so automatic that it hadn’t registered yet because he’s never had to worry about that before. That’s the only reason this cutie isn’t combusting damn
I know y’all were wondering
Kags is in setter mode and love mode he doesn’t know how to act
Finally, you release your hand from his just as your teammates call you over for food. As Captain, duty called.
Looking up at this sexy setter in front of you, you nod. “Uh, sure, Kageyama. I’ll tell you what - I’d love to go out with you. But just as a little pay back for being so mean to my friend Shōyō over there— back in middle school and now.... then I’ll only agree if you win your next game. Then and only then can you get my number from Hinata, okay? I gotta jet.” You give him a warm smile and a wink before jogging out of the gym to meet your team.
Kags, finally registering what you said........ he combusts. He can’t get over how hot you looked when you just winked at him and that he actually asked you out without meaning to.
You said you’d LOVE to go out with him!!!!!!
Well.....if he wins the next game. All because of her thinking you need to treat that stupid bug Hinata better.
Hinata sticks his tongue out at Kags as he rubs his side.
“That really hurt Kageyama. And what happened to you being a dumby or an asshole when it came to cute girls? Now you know how to ask them out??? Man I wish Y/N was smart enough to make the condition that you had to be nice to everyone for her to agree to go out with you because you don’t deserve a girlfriend as pretty as her— and I want to win too.” He starts walking back to the boys’ side of the gym.
“That was my first time ever asking a girl out for your information. And watch the way you talk about my future wife, boke. Just hit my sets and win this next game.”
smirking, Kageyama’s thoughts filled with mental images of you setting, you winking at him sexily and the way your smaller hand fit in his large one perfectly. He thought about how he would make your date next week one for the books.
He really wanted you.
Let’s just say how badly he wanted you was very apparent to Hinata due to the fact that in Karasuno’s next game in Nationals: Kags was the honorary ace. And they won.

aLRIGT in that case id like to have a matchup please
3 things: i have adhd but i dont let it stop me #no adderall i have 13 piercings and a few tats, im a hige flirt and i dont try to be but im constantly doing the lip bit thing 😭
trope: best friends to lovers
type: either really chaotic people or the serious-but-sometimes-chaotic-angry-energy type ex: megumi or kageyama yknow??
also congrats on 100 im so glad your blog is growing :)
Your Match Is
Semi Eita
Why?
Just hear me out here (another rare-ish one I'm on a roll after the Koganegawa match)
Semi appears to be very stoic and calm, however in reality he is competitive and can be really hot headed at times.
(There's that chaos we lookin for)
He appears to get rather annoyed somewhat easily, so if you want a best friend dynamic he can get you one.
By that, I mean the "angry serious and the flirty chaos" type thing.
Be warned, he can and will slap you if you get too overbearing or jumpy.
Just guys being dudes ig
On a sweeter note, he'll trace a tattoo of yours absentmindedly when he gets bored.
Semi just fits the bill, especially because he initially doesn't strike people as the angry chaotic type.
🂠🃑🃁🂱🂡
Initial Friendship
Your friendship with Semi wasn't something many people saw coming.
If any random stranger saw you two standing side by side, they would not think you're anywhere close to acquaintances. Much less best friends.
The team hardly saw it coming too. (Well, maybe Tendou did, the perceptive fucker). Semi was always yelling at you to get your shit together, whether you're on the team or not. Any kind of banter that could happen with you has about a 78% chance of happening. On other occasions, he's just in the background looking stoic while you talk about something.
Neither of you expected this friendship, but neither of you really minded that much.
🂠🃑🃁🂱🂡
Realization
Semi's realization came at a rather serene time in the morning.
You two were walking to school together at what felt like the crack of dawn, with the sun starting to rise and colouring the sky a pink and orange hue.
It was the time of year where you could see your breath, and both of you had coats on to try and keep the cold out.
You were rambling about something you were passionate about, a little smile on your face.
Semi found himself feeling very... fond of you in that moment.
Ever have that moment of clarity, where all of a sudden you realized something you'd never noted before?
That's how Semi realized, and it all felt so damn clear.
🂠🃑🃁🂱🂡
Confession
Semi would be lying if he said that he wasn't nervous about confessing.
Of course, the worst that could happen was you said no right? Wait, no, that was a mild case. The worst that could happen was he could lose your trust and friendship forever, and then he'd never get yo hear you ramble or see you do that dumb lip bite that he found so endearing.
He was sweating buckets by the time he made a plan and worked up the courage to confess. Yet and still, that took him about 2 months.
'Now or never' was his mentality the whole time.
He decided to seek you out after school just before the weekend, so that he could tell you and run away without having to see you. He tapped your shoulder to get your attention, (actually in a rather aggressive manner), and took a deep breath.
"(Y/n)," he started slowly, "I have something I need to get off my chest."
You turned and smiled at him. "If this has something to do with your huge crush on me, you don't need to say anything, I accept."
He blanked. You knew? What? When did that happen?
"How-"
"Tendou told me. Also you're my best friend, I think I'd notice if something was up."
He went blank again as you slipped your hand into his.
All that planning and worrying for nothing.
🂠🃑🃁🂱🂡
Honorable Mention
Kageyama Tobio
🂠🃑🃁🂱🂡

『 Haikyuu!! Week 2020 | Day 3 』
· Sept. 27th → Irresistible Force ·
Characters: Karasuno team
Prompts: A. favourite team + B. crossover/AU
Tags/warnings: Haikyuu!! (anime), PG, fluff, crack, a teensy bit of angst (because who doesn't love a sad superhero backstory), headcanons, AU, superheroes, HaikyuuWeek2020
A/N: Again, I love all the teams and didn't want to pick, but life is cruel, so here I am. This is headcanons about my fav team (Karasuno) in an AU (superheroes). I was thinking of a Hero Association, kind of like in 'The Boys'? But less corrupt... Maybe more like in 'One Punch'? I think you get me.
All of my Haikyuu Week 2020 posts will be SFW, but I have NFSW content on my blog if that butters your biscuit. Feel free to check it out! Thanks for reading! Please enjoy ♡ Imo~
Tumblr media
Karasuno / Superhero Association AU
×
☆ Sawamura Daichi ☆
Powers: nigh invulnerability, super strength, enhanced healing
If he's not the ordinary cop that somehow befriends the heroes I was tempted then he's definitely the leader of the superhero group
Kind of like Superman in the old-school Justice League, just not as OP lol
Looks damn good is spandex those thighs *sweats*
Cape!! so ✨majestic✨
Probably wears dark-ish, neutral colours with a dash of blue
A bit serious. Not the kind of hero to go around making quips all the time, but will make light of his own suffering like Captain America
Takes younger heroes under his wing like the true Dadchi he is
Strong moral compass. Unbreakable
Won't hesitate to lay down his life for others
Who am I kidding. He's basically Captain America with a cape
Poster-boy for the Hero Association
×
☆ Sugawara Koushi ☆
Powers: telekinesis
A soft, pearly aesthetic with his suit, hair and skin. Lots of white and silver

Was convinced to come back when his old teammates finally found him again because they needed his help in a crisis
Literally shed tears of relief when heroes and citizens alike welcomed him back instead of hating him mah heart *sniffs*
Can withstand seemingly anything and fully heal within a matter of days
Doesn't know the full extent of his powers himself. How exactly do one test it? 🤔
Still has to psych himself up for a fight, though big softy, really
×
☆ Shimizu Kiyoko ☆
Powers: electrokinesis, flight
Powers like Storm from X-Men, and kicks ass like Wonder Woman
Refuses to wear a revealing suit, but looks bomb af anyway

☆ Tanaka Ryuunosuke ☆
Powers: fire generation and manipulation
Tanaka brings the heat literally
A bit of a chaotic-good, but what's new there?

Kiyoko: Sun's getting real low...
Bonus points if you get the reference
Is terrified of hurting innocents if he gets out of control
It rarely happens, but if he loses his self confidence, his powers don't seem to work
Shouts cringy lines at the villains before roasting their asses lmfao
Wears a black and orange flame-retardant suit, and actually looks pretty fine in it 😌👌
Literally head over heels for Kiyoko just imagine it. Biggest hype man
×
☆ Nishinoya Yuu ☆
Powers: animal metamorphosis, enhanced speed
Think Beast Boy from 'Teen Titans', but less green he's more likely to be yellow or orange, lmao
Handy in lots of different situations. Very versatile
Incredibly cheeky and joins in with Tanaka's cheesy jokes and one-liners
Absolute maniac, but the people love him, especially schoolkids lmao
Has his own energy drink flavour, and he's STOKED about it
Yellow and black suit, kind of like his hair
Has a surprisingly large following of fans
Laps up the attention, but it doesn't really go to his head
Quiet and serious when he's on a mission/fighting
Tumblr media
☆ Hinata Shouyou ☆
Powers: self replication, super speed, levitation
His powers took a while to properly manifest, which left him feeling isolated as a teen
Was pretty lost until Ukai helped train him

Argues with Kageyama a lot at headquarters, but they work together like a dream when taking down bad guys

Wears an orange, white and yellow suit with little wings on his heels cuuuute
×
☆ Kageyama Tobio ☆
Powers: water/ice generation and manipulation, breathing underwater, superhuman reflexes
I was tempted to give him fire/ice powers like Todoroki, but I didn't want to detract from Tanaka
Has problems focusing his powers, and can be quite turbulent in the heat of battle
Finds it hard to work well with others initially, but really makes an effort
Has hurt people close to him by accident before and never wants to do it again it would tear him apart
Becomes a power duo with Hinata when Ukai helps train them, even though they don't seem to get on well at first
Broody boi on the surface, but a cinnamon roll deep down
Wears a dark blue and deep purple suit that has fins to assist in underwater escapades which are his forte
Freezes Hinata's feet to the floor when he pisses him off or anybody's feet, tbh
Can dodge almost anything because of his reflexes don't ever try to punch him. You'll look stupid
Is surprised by the number of people in his fan club especially the number of women asking to marry him??
×
☆ Tsukishima Kei ☆
Powers: telepathy, superhuman intellect, mind control on weak-willed individuals
Prefers to outwit his enemies rather than getting into a brawl
But his self-designed gadgets and tech help him out if he has to a bit like Tony Stark, wink wonk
Sometimes makes you question if he's really a hero or not Tsukki, please
Doesn't take orders well
Baits villains by insulting them and getting the better of them with his words it's hilarious
Comes up with good plans, but improvises well with whatever he's got
Probably wears suits over his spandex most of the time fancy shmancy
Is prepared to die to protect Yamaguchi waahhh
×
☆ Yamaguchi Tadashi ☆
Powers: invisibility, force fields, teleportation
Susan Storm with added teleportation, lol
Often finds it hard to value his powers because they're not as visually strong and impressive as other people's
Rather than squaring up to a battle, he often has to 'hide' from it by literally going invisible
But he gradually becomes aware of how vital his powers can be, and learns to control them and make them as advantageous as possible
Is a highly important and valued member of the team
Soft bean that gets nervous and throws up before a fight
But he's hella determined and won't back down
Honestly, just wants to protect Tsukki and make him proud PROTECT HIM
×
☆ Yachi Hitoka ☆
Powers: size manipulation
She can shrink and enlarge herself and objects she touches at will, including other people
Sometimes shrinks really small to avoid social situations she doesn't want to be in samez, honey
The clumsiest and least experienced on the team
But she tries her best, gradually getting to grips with her powers
Sometimes uses her powers by accident, like when she's nervous
Once touched a watermelon slice on the refreshment table and accidentally blew it up to the size of a car Hinata, Kageyama and Noya fully dug in with their faces 😭😭
Nearly passed out when Daichi, the literal god of the Hero Association, told her she had great potential
Don't worry, Yams teleported and caught her
Tumblr media
☆ Ukai Keishin ☆
Powers: laser vision, metal mimicry
The has-been hero who lost his enthusiasm for hero-ing and retired some years ago
Was really cool back in his hayday. Big hot-shot with a fan club
Has been working as a convenience store attendant to pay the bills and is bored out of his mind but refuses to admit it
Was convinced to get back in the game when he found Hinata and Kageyama fighting, both struggling with their abilities. He broke up the fight and agreed to coach them
Doesn't do much of the flashy hero stuff anymore, but will occasionally get stuck in when he's needed must protecc his children
Is only, like, ten years older than the other heroes, but they treat him like some fossilised sensei out of Natuto, or some shit
Tbf, he has the back problems of one 😭😭
×
☆ Takeda Ittetsu ☆
Powers: power absorption
Transferred from being a hero to hero management after having having issues with the effects of his powers he has a conscience :(
He felt guilty and responsible for permanently taking the powers of others, even if they were criminals
It was like removing a piece of their souls it kind of broke him
These days, he makes sure nobody knows about his powers, so it can't be used against him
He helps in any other way possible
He would only use his powers again in dire circumstances he knows he'll eventually have to
Is generally chipper and good natured, though
If he was ever captured by a villain, they'd probably send him back because he talks too much omg, hahaha
Helps gather info for the team and direct them on missions and in fights
Gives bomb inspirational speeches ✊

“…ta…nata…Hinata!”
A female’s voice continued calling her from her deep slumber.
The faint smell of ammonia wafted in the air.
Eyelids slowly opened as she regained consciousness.
“Ah, thank goodness you’re awake now, Hina-chan!”
“Yachi-san?” She groggily glanced at her friend.
“I’ll tell the others she’s awake!” Suddenly, the owner of that voice earlier, Date Tech’s manager, Nametsu Mai, stood up and headed outside the door. Yachi nodded her thanks.
“W-what happened… Where am I? Is this not our—the managers’—room?” she asked.
Hinata started to sit up from where she was laying but wobbled.
Luckily, Yachi and their second-year senpai Kinoshita Hisashi helped her out and gently positioned their fellow member on one corner of the classroom-slash-makeshift sleeping area.
Her senpai sheepishly replied to Hinata, “This is Date Tech’s sleeping quarters. We were having our first practice match of the day, against them, when Sugawara-san called to inform that they’ve found you together with Shiratorizawa, and their captain carried you on—“
The decoy shivered, thinking about the restroom incident hours ago.
“—and fainted on Ushijima’s shoulder. Ma~n, Suga-san’s so furious back then Kageyama had to stop him from killing them.” Kinoshita chuckled.
“Your room’s kinda far away from where they found you, so the managers decided to drop you off here since it’s the nearest one.”
Hinata sweatdropped, a bit embarrassed.
“Ah… thank you, and sorry for whatever inconvenience I have caused earlier…”
Yachi shook her head. “No, no, it’s fine! You’ve done nothing wrong, Hina-chan~,” she grinned at the orange-haired girl.
Smiled back also.
Then she suddenly facepalmed. “I forgot about the practice match! Is it still going yet?”
“It finished an hour ago, we lost—2-1,” a scowling Kageyama answered, trudging towards the three.
“K-k-kageyama…!!!” the female middle blocker blanched with fear, hands gripping the blanket draped on her lap, while the raven-haired setter shot a menacing glare at her, which she averted. “I’m… I’m sorry for—“
“Are you alright?” he quietly asked Hinata, his hand perched on her head.
His deep blue eyes swimming with concern and worry.
She felt a slight flush on her cheeks while meeting his gaze.
“H-hai, I’m fine!” the chibi assured Kageyama. “Nothing to worry about, Bakayama-kun~!”
And she smiled at him.
The boy suddenly became hot and turned to look away from her, hiding his flustered face with the back of his hand.
“H-hinata boke… idiot,” Kageyama stuttered, his heart thumping louder than normal.
Ahh… he sure is whipped for Hinata, that Kageyama boy, Kinoshita thought, shaking his head.
While their blonde manager only giggled.
Recovering from his blushing mess a while ago, the raven-haired setter took a deep breath, narrowed his eyes at Hinata and quipped.
“But I guess you do know that we lost in the match earlier because of your carelessness around your surroundings, right, dumbass?”
He smirked.
This pissed the female decoy and threw in some punches at Kageyama, which he constantly dodged. “Shut up, you!! I said I’m sorry, alright?!”
“No, you did not!”
“Yes, I did, Bakayama!”
There goes their ‘lovers’ quarrel’ again… hahaha…
“Hinata!” Sugawara’s sweet voice boomed inside the room as he entered together with their team’s captain Sawamura Daichi. Beside them tagged along Hinata’s friend from Date Tech, fellow middle blocker Aone Takanobu.
“Ah, Sugawara-san!” The first-year idiot duo stopped their bickering when the gray-haired setter all of a sudden hugged her.
Hc’d Suga and Hinata are chummy-chummy but in a mother/daughter sort of way.
He is, after all, Karasuno’s Sugamama.
“Honey, are you alright now? Did those Shiratorizawa bastards hurt you? Don’t lie to me!” She blinked in reply, baffled.
He might cry in an instant now—
“Oi, Suga, calm down,” Daichi said, drawing circles at the fellow third-year’s back to calm him down.
Aone then stepped closer besides Hinata and sat with his legs crossed, his eyes gazing at hers like Kageyama’s.
“Are you okay?” he asked her, his deep voice nearly startled both Hinata, Yachi and Kinoshita.
Date Tech’s one-third of the famous Iron Wall is a man of few words, and his replies were mostly grunts, hand gestures, and nods.
So it’s rare for him to speak, or ask a question, especially to a member of the opposite sex—or, in this case, at Karasuno’s Number 10. At Hinata Shouyou.
She held both hands at Aone’s now flustered cheeks, and grinned.
“I’m okay now, Aone-san! Don’t worry too much~ nn?” She tilted her head while looking at him.
C-cute… she’s cute, No-Eyebrows thought to himself. Even the other boys thought so, too.
Then he nodded.
Hinata patted his shoulders. “Good!”
Ahhh the power of friendship, feat. AoHina—
“Say, Hina-chan,” Yachi looked at the orange-haired girl. “Care to say to us why you fainted on Ushijima-san’s shoulder?”
The chibi stilled herself, cheeks starting to get a bit red. Kageyama noticed it.
“A-a-ano!! H-hinata-chan, it’s o-okay if you d-don’t have to tell us! S-sorry for asking such a foolish q-question—“
“Yachi-san, calm yourself down, too—,” the captain sweatdropped.
Looking at the people around her, Hinata slowly opened her mouth to speak.
“My thighs are kind of ticklish when being touched,” she muttered, face in an embarrassed state.
“Ha?” “Ticklish?”
“He—Ushijima-san touched the back of my thighs, but just to keep myself from falling down his shoulder!” the female middle blocker said aloud, pouting. “That’s why I… f-fainted earlier.”
Her partner remembered the face she made while being carried on Ushijima Wakatoshi’s shoulder.
“USHIJIMA-SA—hyaah! …P-please… stop—“
A vein pop ticked on the raven-haired setter’s face, his jawline twitching slightly.
Kageyama’s fists gripped hard, his face a big scowling mess.
Damn that Ushiwaka guy—
Another dark aura emitted on another corner as vein pops ticked on both Dadchi and Sugamama.
Wearing their scary faces.
Both Hinata, Yachi and Kinoshita panicked, while Aone furrowed his brows.
“Did you bring some shovels, Daichi?”
“They’re inside the bus compartment, Suga.”
“Good. We’re digging some graves for some perverted volleyball dorks to bury down later—wanna help us, Kageyama?”
———
Meanwhile, at Shiratorizawa’s side of the training camp, the members were at the sidelines, taking a break from practice when—
“ACHOO!!!” Tendou sniffled for the nth time already ever since coming back to the gym with Ushijima after the incident with Karasuno’s Number 10. “Uh, yizz…”
“Tendou-san, are you really alright?” their team’s first-year ace-in-the-making Goshiki Tsutomu asked, his face scrunched with worry. “You’re sneezing constantly.”
The redhead shook it off with a wave of his hand in reply, and smiled grimly.
“Yeah, I’m a-OK, thanks for your concern, Tsutomu-kun!”
“Oi, are you sick?” Shiratorizawa’s team mom third-year setter Semi Eita stared at his fellow third-year teammate with disgust. “If you are, please stay away from us! We don’t wanna get infected by your cold… Goshiki, don’t go near him!” “Eh? But, senpai—“
Tendou narrowed his eyes on him. “Semi-Semi, if I do have a cold, I will first go straight at ya and share my germs, duh!”
“DON’T CALL ME BY THAT STUPID NICKNAME, YOU IDIOT!” the team mom seethed, throwing a pack of tissues at the middle blocker in reply, hitting his arm.
A quarrel ensued at Shiratorizawa—
“Okay, guys, that’s enough! Save your bickering later at lunch period,” another third-year, Oohira Reon, chided and managed to stop both Tendou and Semi from tearing off their heads.
While the rest of the team just sighed and/or watched at a distance.
“Ano sa…”
Some of them turned their heads at the semi-deep voice of second-year starting setter Shirabu Kenjiro.
Idk how to describe voice ranges ‘cept high-pitch, deep blah blah sorry—
“Tendou-san, you mentioned earlier that you and Ushijima-san met Karasuno’s Number 10, right?”
“Aye~ we have!” the redhead then nudged Ushijima, who was sitting near him, on the side. “Right, Wakatoshi-kun?”
He nodded. “Un. We met Hinata Shouyou early this morning, outside the gym.”
“EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! You two met that cute sunshine already upon arrival!?!!” Both their libero, Yamagata Hayato, and middle blocker, Kawanishi Taichi, squawked at their captain.
Their faces looked like (‘◉⌓◉’), with Kawanishi gripping the collar of Shirabu’s shirt, shaking wildly.
“T-taichi, stop shaking me, goddammit—!” Whack!
Said second-year middle blocker started to wail in a dramatic way.
“WHYYYYYYYYYYY—!!”
Dunno how to grasp Kawanishi’s personality here tbh so stfu dejk—
“We were about to bring her here back though…” Then Ushijima’s usual stoic face darkened a bit.
“…if only those Karasuno setters didn’t show up.”
“Ah, that Kageyama guy and their vice-captain, isn’t it? Number 2?” Shirabu pointed out. “That guy’s really scary even though he has the face of an angel; their captain also.”
Oohira asked, “Wait… so you two attempted to kidnap the girl?”
“No, no, ‘kidnapping’ will only cause us trouble,” Tendou said, waving his hand in a disapproving way.
“Let’s call it ‘luring her with some sweets then put her inside a potato sack’—“
“ARE YOU A DOWNRIGHT LOLICON!?!!” Semi screamed straight at the Guess Monster’s face, pissed at his earlier statement.
Tendou vs Semi, Round 2–
“I-I heard from Date Tech’s Koganegawa-san that Hinata-chan fainted on you, Ushijima-san,” Goshiki stammered, red tinge on both his cheeks due to embarrassment, maybe? “Is that true?”
Ushiwaka nodded curtly. “Ye—“
“EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! SHE DID WHAAAAAAAAAAT!?!!” Both Yamagata and Kawanishi squawked again, interrupting his response.
Their faces now looked like (● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾, with Kawanishi again gripping the collar of Shirabu’s shirt, shaking wildly.
“KAWANISHIIIIII!” An uppercut.
Chaos ensued inside the Shiratorizawa Academy (High School Division) Men’s Volleyball Club.
Their captain declared to himself, his olive-colored eyes shone with determination:
We will take Hinata Shouyou here, in Shiratorizawa. She should have (come here). Whatever the consequences be.
“WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU SLACKING OFF, YOU NIMRODS!!! GET YOUR ASSES BACK TO PRACTICE!!!!”
“HAI!!!!”
———
How did the supposed-to-be ‘rumor’ begin? It all started when…
“Aaaarrrggghhh!! This is not right, Ryuu!”
“Huh? What d’you mean ‘not right’, Noya?”
“I want to sit next to our cute kouhai Shouyou on the bus earlier, but it’s always that bastard Kageyama who gets to sit beside her!! Hnnnnnngh—!!! He gets to touch Shouyou’s hair whenever she dozes off, or place her head on his shoulder to sleep on! Or-or maybe even take a candid shot of her sleeping cutely—dammit!!! This is frustrating!!!!!”
“Ahhh~ I know how you feel, bro! I, too, want to sit next to our precious Hinata-chan on the bus! B-but… Noya, what about Kiyoko-san?”
“Ryuu bro, our loyalty is always on our beautiful goddess Kiyoko-san—BUT SHE’S DIFFERENT FROM SHOUYOU! Our kouhai is literally the epitome of a living sunshine~! She cures our blues away! Remember that time during our match with Wakunan, when you were kind of down about Daichi-san’s injury then Shouyou suddenly hugged and peppered you with words of encouragement?”
“Oh, yeah! It calmed my senses down… and also! Remember when you came back from your suspension, and me and Hinata noticed bruises—“
idk I really need to refresh my HQ knowledge by rereading the whole manga orz—
“—on your arms? Ma~n, she freaked out and began applying those with some ointment she had in her bag. And you told me later that time Hinata’s hands were very soft even though she spiked and blocked so many balls in her lifetime? Also that expression on your face! So priceless!”
“Ahhhh~ I wanna touch Shouyou’s soft hands again longer! Not just a high five—but holding hands!”
“Me too~ Damn, I wish there’d be some kind of (rotational?) seating arrangement whenever we’re on the bus, traveling to matches and stuff…”
“Ryuu! Noya! Heya!”
“Tora! Our shitty (city) boy from Tokyo—wassup!”
“We can’t wait to play another game against you guys later! ww”
“Same here!”
“Ah, what are you guys talking about?”
“OUR PRECIOUS KOUHAI HINATA/SHOUYOU!!!”
“Eh? Shrimpy-chan? What about her?”
“It’s like this….—“
The two crows and mohawked cat walked their way inside the camp premises, talking.
Unbeknownst to them, two eagles accidentally eavesdropped on the earlier conversation.

Haikyuu? Part one
Ongoing fic
Pairing: no one set yet, in this fic it’s kind of Tanaka but it could change. Reader is female.
Summary: you travel to the Haikyuu universe, who better to help you figure out how than the boys of the Karasuno Volley Ball Club.
Warning: language (f word once and a couple others)
A/n: so I think if you went into the show universe you’d automatically speak and understand the language so much so you wouldn’t understand it was any different than your normal first language. Anyway this is probably Terrible but I like the idea since I’ve never read something like it before.
“Why am I in a gym? Why does it look so.. cartoon? How did I get here?” You stand in the middle of a gym next to a volleyball net, looking slowly around at your surroundings before looking down at yourself, “oh no” you say as you take in your skin and clothing, all in the same cartoon style of the gymnasium. “What is HAPPENING?” You yell and it echoes off the walls back to you. “My phone!” you say and fish it from your back pocket, pulling it out you’re relived to see it looks exactly like it should, except it says no service in the top left corner. “Damn”
“Is someone already in here?” Your head pops up to the sound of the boys voice at the door “Daichi?” You say, extremely confused, the boy looks a little shocked “do I know you?” He says as he walks in to the gym farther. “Holy fuck” you say with a laugh before passing out, falling backwards to the hard wood floor.
“Give her some room, I think she’s waking up” your eyes open and you look at all of the boys around you “ohhh noooo this can’t be happening. I don’t belong here. How is this possible?” You stand up quickly and go to run before your knees give out and you’re caught in the arms of one the boys you’ve been crushing on in the anime you watch every night.
“Hold on there” he says “try to take a few deep breaths and calm down” you’re on your knees, looking into his eyes, clutching onto his arm for dear life. Your head feels like it’s swimming. “I don’t belong here, Tanaka” you say and he raises his eyebrows at his name. “What do you mean?” He asks, forcing himself to be soft and not loud. “Maybe start with your name” Daichi said and you took a deep breath before saying “y/n. Y/n l/n.” Tanaka stands and helps you up from your knees, keeping his arm around your waist in case you fall again “where are you from y/n?” Tanaka says and you laugh “(your home town)” you say and the eyes of the boys around you widen a little “why are you here?” Tsukishima says and you glare at him “have I not said multiple times already Tsuki, I don’t belong here. Are you deaf? Geez” everyone except Tsukishima holds in chuckles and you blush a little embarrassed at your outburst. “Look, guys, I’m gonna go on a limb here and tell you guys the truth. I know how it’s going to sound and I wouldn’t believe me either if I were any of you and I already know that some of you” you glare at Tsuki for a second before continuing “probably won’t believe me anyway, but I don’t belong here. not here as in Karasuno, here as in this universe” you hear Tsuki scoff and you roll your eyes before looking at him “be quiet until I finish” you say before softening your expression and sort of pleading with him to believe you as you add “please” he clears his throat, furrows his brows, and nods.
“Look I know how this sounds but I have proof that what I say is true. This universe, is an anime and manga in mine. I’ve seen three of the four seasons about you and I know countless spoilers when they time skip. Plus!” You pull out your phone “I have this still. The only thing that looks like it should from my universe. My iPhone” you hold it up and unlock it, pulling up a picture of you with your family that, surprisingly, looked like you normal. Then you went through your social media’s, showing them your posts and your name, anything they wanted to see to help prove while your phone still has battery. Of course you didn’t show them your tumblr though, that would stay a secret.
After asking all their questions about you and you answering them honestly they started asking about how much you know about them. “What are all of our names?” Ennoshita says quietly and you smile “well your name is Chikara Ennoshita , then Kei Tsukishima, Sawamura Daichi, Yuu Nishinoya,” you meet the eyes of the next boy and smile warmly “Ryunosuke Tanaka” he blushes as your name leaves his lips and he smiles before looking away as you continue naming off the rest of the boys of the team around you. “Then there is Takeda, Kiyoko, Coach Ukai. I can’t remember a lot of other names from boys in other schools, Kyotani, Oikawa, Aone, Ushijima, Iwazumi, Akaashi, and the rest. I’m not really good at remembering names unless I like them” Kageyama scowls because that means you like Oikawa “and I like you guys the most.” You decide to just start saying other things you can think of “I know Tsukishima and his older brother iss— ” you meet his eye and decide to not finish the sentence, as he gets the picture anyway, his eyes wide and eyebrows raised. You decide to move on. “And I know Tanaka really wants a girlfriend who would bring him luck charms before games” you smile wide when you notice his deep blush as he remembers the time he talked about that in the locker room. “Hinata” the orange boy perks up at his name “the tiny giant is his inspiration” you smile and then look at angry king of the court “I know Tobio over here loooves his milk” you say and chuckle at his expression “sorry I guess that’s too informal. I think I’m just used to talking about you guys with other fans. It’s really easy to feel connected to you all but I guess it’s different now that I’m actually meeting you. Sorry. I don’t mean to be weird” you blush a deep shade of red, thinking about the group chat you have dedicated just to them.
“She’s so cute when she blushes” Noya whispers quite loudly to Tanaka who just shushes him. You make eye contact with him and wink, smiling as he giggles and blushes before Daichi elbows him and he shuts up.
You speak up again “I don’t know what else I can say here. I don’t know what I can do or how to go home. I told you the truth because the worst case scenario is I’m on my own here and that would happen if you don’t believe me or I lied. Plus I despise liars so it doesn’t make sense that I would lie.” You look around at the boys and when you meet the eyes of Tsukishima he nods, signifying he believes you as Daichi speaks up “we all believe you and would be happy to help you, we will do some research and see what we can do” you felt tears welling up in your eyes “really?” You say and your voice cracks “really” he says and smiles, you look around at the rest of team and they all smile and nod. “Thank you guys so much I was so worried” he comes and puts a hand on your shoulder “don’t worry. We’ll figure this out” he has the same look in his eye that he gets during a really tricky match. You nod and smile at him and then realize “but don’t let me ruin your practice. I know you guys! so don’t worry about me. I’ll go sit outside and wait while you practice” you turn to walk out and Tanaka grabs your hand, stopping you, you turn back to see them all smiling and beginning to plop on the ground, pulling out phones and laptops from their bags “no way we’re going to practice. This is more important. We have to get you home.” He says and your belly fills with butterflies. ‘shit’ you think to yourself ‘can’t feel like this if I’m trying to go home’
It’s been hours since you appeared in this world, you and the whole team, managers and coaches as well, sitting around and discussing the possibilities. You told them what you remember before this happened, leading to Hinata asking if you were really just asleep, to which Kageyama slapped him and after they argued you tried a few ways that you thought would make you wake up if you really were sleeping, which you weren’t. Then they questioned you more about your life and you told them everything you could think of.
You hug your knees to your chest and lay your forehead on them, your hair cascading down the sides of your arms hiding your face as the hot, frustrated, tears begin to fall. “Hey hey hey” Tanaka says and takes his hand, raking your hair softly to one side, his fingertips scratching a trail, before he places his palm flat on your back, rubbing small circles, “we will figure this out. And if we don’t figure it out tonight you can stay with one of us. Daichi has sisters, There’s Kiyoko as well, or my sister is gone to college so her room is free. Each one of us could probably have you over. If we don’t figure it out today we won’t leave you alone, we will keep trying. And if we never figure it out then you have a new home with us” you look into his eyes, shocked with how he’s just accepted you and how kind he is. “He’s right, y/n” Daichi says and you look over at him, smiling gently, it’s then that you realize that everyone is quiet now, smiling and looking at you, “don’t worry. Seriously. We all have your back” Suga says with a smile. You feel your tears start flowing again but you don’t look away. “Thank you” you say quietly, feeling more confident in yourself just by knowing you won’t have to be alone.
“Guys it is getting late. Maybe we could continue this again tomorrow because we do have class in the morning” Tsukishima says and you get worried again. Where were you going to stay? “Kiyoko? Aren’t you going to be gone for a week?” Daichi asks and the girl nods “that’s what I thought. And my cousins are staying with us for a few weeks, Tanaka would you mind letting her stay in Saeko’s room tonight? Would your parents mind?” You feel yourself blush as you look over at the boy, he nods with blushing cheeks “yeah that’s fine no problem” and Noya chuckles. You swallow hard and Tanaka turns to you, giving you a thumbs up and a smile, making your stomach fill with butterflies again. ‘Oh this is just great’ you think ‘spending the night in the same house as one of my anime crushes. Guess I don’t have a choice’

a/n: for my beautiful friend kayla☺️🦋 @janellion , I hope you like this one as much as I loved writing it!! i felt super inspired after starting this one and was planning on making it a little series, so please feel free to give feedback below💕🤗
“Remind me why we’re going in the first place?” You groaned to Yachi as you tossed options from your closet onto the bedroom floor.
“Well, I kind of sort of told Kageyama and Hinata that I’d come with them if they passed their algebra test...” the blond trailed off, her sheepish expression visible even through the blurry screen. Sighing in defeat, you flounced onto your mattress, trying not to think about the day before you.
Yachi had somehow blackmailed you into babysitting the mismatched gaggle of volleyball players from across Japan as they headed to the amusement park this afternoon. The idea hadn’t completely scared you; you had met some of them after watching their games and dropping by to see your best friend after practice.
The boys didn’t worry you.
But two words did—Kōtarō Bokuto.
Just hearing those syllables made your chest tight—the thought of him bringing a familiar heat to your face. It had been years since you had last truly spoken; you two had attended the same middle school, growing up practically inseparable, up until your move to Miyagi Prefecture.
But it wasn’t awkwardness that you feared; more so the feelings that you were yet to come to terms with.
-
“Don’t.”
His words seemed to reverberate within you, sending a wave of goosebumps across your skin.
You watched silently as the street lamps above cast twin shadows onto the pavement, one dwarfing the other as they stopped abruptly at a corner.
“So is this it? Am I never going to see you again?”
His voice was hoarse, a stark contrast from is normally bright tone, as he fought desperately to bite down emotions wrestling free.
You didn’t have the strength to look up. The thought of seeing that pained expression plastered on his face was too difficult to bear.
“Look at me.”
It didn’t matter, you told yourself. How much you ached to give in to him, to confess to the throbbing of your heart each time you met his eyes and felt the scorching heat of his touch; you knew that deep down, you couldn’t, not if it meant bringing upon him that same gut-wrenching ache that tore you up from the inside at the thought of having to leave the boy you loved behind.
"Please.”
He took your wrist gently, his nimble fingers wrapping around gingerly, sending a sharp current through your blood.
Gathering whatever courage remained, you met his eyes, rendered speechless by their severity.
His amber irises were in agony; if they held any more emotion you thought they would shatter into a thousand flecks of gold—the death of a star; a supernova.
“Tarō, I-”
“You can’t leave me. Not like this.” He whispered, his head bowed as tears pricked the corners of his eyes.
“You know I don’t have a choice,” you choked out, bottom lip quivering as hot streaks trailed down your cheeks.
Hiccuping, you gathered syllables together, murmuring weakly, “We'll still be friends, Bo, you and Akaashi and me—”
“You know damn well that I don’t see you as just a friend.”
Silence.
His fingers slipped from your wrist, hesitating for a moment as he sharply inhaled before sliding his hand across your palm and threading his fingers through yours.
“My pulse doesn’t race like this when I talk with Akaashi.”
You had never seen his face sport an expression that serious; his eyes were blazing now, some kind of concealed hunger now present in them as they gazed hopefully into yours, his thumb lightly brushing your cheek.
“I’m falling in love with you.”
The tears were flooding now, pouring down your face, your body trembling as you suppressed the gut-wrenching sobs from reaching your throat and the desire to bury your face into the front of his shirt.
Your lips parted, but words refused to come.
“You don’t have to say it back.”
A small smile.
His lips brushed the skin of your forehead, releasing your hand and pulling away after a long, quiet moment.
A sad smile ghosted his face, as if admiring you for the last time.
The final words that left his lips hung in the thick August heat, dissolving slowly into the heavy moisture that coated the air as you turned to go your separate ways:
“Goodbye.”
-
A horn blared incessantly outside, slipping you out of a daze.
You pulled on a cream colored top and a pair of flowy olive pants, sprinting out the door and across the street at the barrage of texts from your blond friend.
“Sorry, I lost track of time,” you sighed as you pulled the door closed behind you, staring blankly out the window as you pulled away, your mind anywhere but present.
After a much needed rant to Yachi, you felt somewhat reassured upon hearing of his indifference towards your joining the group—though the uneasy feeling at the pit of your stomach said differently.
Did he no longer feel the same?
The thought had crossed your mind thousands of times over the past few years, resurfacing bitterly as you watched the clementine-haired first year slam ball after ball onto the hardwood floor of the gym, heard those same syllables leave his lips, carving them once again into your battered heart.
Maybe it was for the better, you assured yourself. It was safer that way; slowly drifting from him after leaving had been the most agonizing process, but maybe, just maybe, you had eased his pain, taking on the burden for the both of you.
As you pulled into the lot of the amusement park, you spotted a striking group of boys heading towards your car: one dark haired and reminiscent of a rooster, a tall blond, a shorter boy with furiously orange locks accompanied by a visibly annoyed partner, and a pair who lagged behind the rest, one with tame, dark waves, the other sporting silver-frosted tips and a large grin.
Bokuto.
Noticing your dumbfounded expression, Yachi dragged you from the car, using every ounce of muscle in her small frame to force your weight alongside her.
As he drew closer, he seemed to glow like a hologram, the outline of his form sparking with blue electricity.
Only he was right here, standing inches from you, his presence radiating that familiar, comforting warmth; Bokuto had always felt like home.
He was the same, exactly the same. That identical cheery, rambunctiously childlike boy you had known. Only now he was a man; his boyish face melding into strong, angular features to showcase that blinding grin, accentuating his telling facial expressions.
By some form of sorcery, it seemed as if he had grown even taller, his shoulder now surpassing the crown of your head as you timidly peered up at him, craning your neck slightly.
Blushing furiously as his eyes landed on you, you began shyly;
“Hi, Bo.”
He smiled that toothy, sunshine grin:
“Hi.”

yachi hitoka - takes art, textiles, business and AS maths; always has the cutest outfits with pretty pastel jumpers and subtle necklaces; actively avoids eye contact whenever a teacher is asking a question even though she always knows the answer; is terrified walking past roadmen and football fields (she’s been hit in the head with the ball too many times); will buy you food from the canteen if you don’t have enough; no one knows where she goes at lunch but they never see her around and never see her leave; became a prefect because her teacher said she should; runs a textiles club for KS3
shimizu kiyoko - takes geography, maths, business and AS further maths; everyone thought she’d be like head girl but she didn’t even run for it; she’s too used to ignoring guys trying to talk to her so if you actually need to speak to her about something important good luck; is invited to every party but never goes; had THE biggest glow up from year 7; stays at school over lunch even though sixth formers can leave, can always be found at one specific bench or in her geography teacher’s classroom

yamamoto taketora - takes PE, history and english; has played basketball every single lunchtime since year 7 and he's not about to stop now; uses over-the-top compliments to chat up girls and then calls them clapped when they reject him; is trying his best with school work but is struggling, if you sit next to him please help him; is mates with everyone he's ever sat next to and will fist-bump you when you walk past each other; is obsessed with a specific instagram model and everyone calls him a simp for it

iwaizumi hajime - takes PE, biology and business; "friends" with all the roadmen but you get the feeling he wants to be literally anywhere else; always yelling and takes every joke too seriously; shoves his PE kit in the same part of his bag as all his books and has to pull out his sweaty shirt to get to his pencilcase; will be nice to you if you sit next to him but it feels forced; always has a cherry pepsi and a pack of wine gums or dolly mix in his bag and he won't share any with you

Switched - Part 2
A/N: Hi everyone! I’m so thankful for the wonderful reception to the first part of my fic, Switched! I released part 2 on AO3 (find it here) a few days ago, and I’ve been meaning to upload it here, so here’s part 2! Once again, @amit-crabcrab is wholly responsible for the amazing concept and even better fanart that inspired this fic. Hope you enjoy!!
Waking up in Tsukkishima’s body was no less jarring than it was the day before. Kageyama had been hoping, praying that maybe the entire thing was a nightmare, but when he woke up and couldn’t see five feet in front of him, a scowl formed on his face and he nearly slammed his hands onto the glasses on the bedside table.
He grabbed for Tsukki’s phone and sent a quick text to Tsukkageyama only to be startled half to death when not even a minute later Tsukkageyama pushed the bedroom door open. “My—I mean, your—mom let me in,” he said with a shrug, dropping a bag at the door and closing the door behind him.
“Do you remember that shrine visit?” Kageyama blurted. Tsukkageyama raised an eyebrow at him.
“That was over a month ago. I thought of that, too,” Tsukkageyama admitted. “But I don’t think it’s that.”
“Well that’s the only thing that makes any sense in my mind,” Kageyama replied with a defeated shrug. “But whatever.”
“Can you please put some actual clothes on?” Tsukkageyama said in a mock-disgusted tone. “I’m sitting here looking at myself shirtless and it’s kind of uncomfortable.”
Kageyama stuck out his tongue, but he obliged, throwing his legs off the side of the bed and standing. He still wasn’t used to this new lanky height and found himself stumbling a bit with his first few steps. I probably look like a toddler, he thought with a grimace, but Tsukkageyama didn’t comment. He threw on some clothes for the day, somehow not even minding that Tsukkageyama was watching, because after all it was his body, not Kageyama’s.
“So, you and Hinata,” Tsukkageyama whistled as Kageyama flopped back down onto the bed. “Can’t say I didn’t see it coming.”
“Shut up,” Kageyama growled back. “You and Yamaguchi are together too.”
“We have been for almost a year,” Tsukkageyama responded, idly picking at Kageyama’s pristine fingernails. “Pretty much everyone knows.”
“Is that why you freaked out so much when I said that last night on the phone?” Kageyama sneered, watching himself—Tsukkageyama—become flustered once again. Even though Tsukki wasn’t in his own body, it still felt strange to see him this nervous and jumpy. Kageyama thought that despite the cool demeanor Tsukkageyama wore, he really was terrified of their current situation.
“Okay, so maybe not everyone knows. I’d like you to keep it a secret,” Tsukkageyama refused to look over at Kageyama as he spoke.
“Ditto,” Kageyama replied. “Hinata and I haven’t really decided what we are yet, and we wanted to wait until we did to tell anyone…” Kageyama felt backed into a corner. The last person he ever wanted to figure out about his and Hinata’s relationship was, in fact, Tsukkishima, but now he couldn’t help but tell Tsukkageyama the details of their relationship in order for Tsukkageyama to not screw it up.
This whole situation was a hot mess, and Kageyama honestly had no idea how to deal with it. Based on the furrowed brows and scowl on Tsukkageyama’s face, he also had no idea how to deal with the fact that they had switched bodies. After all, this wasn’t really something one could Google and find a WikiHow article on how to reverse a body-switch.
“Where are we going today?” Kageyama asked finally, breaking the tense silence that had fallen between them.
“Well, I told Yamaguchi it would be a surprise,” Tsukkageyama replied with all the vigor of Tsukki. “We could go anywhere.”
“How about a movie?”
“Yamaguchi doesn’t like movie dates. He likes to talk.”
Kageyama scowled. Hinata also didn’t like movie dates because he’d gotten kicked out of so many theaters for making sound effects where he thought they should be in movies. Kageyama had to remind the boy multiple times that when characters kiss, it doesn’t make the “SMOOCHY” sound that Hinata always emphasized.
“Dinner?” Tsukkageyama suggested. “I mean, it’s not ideal, but—”
Kageyama’s phone rang. Tsukkageyama picked it up and immediately groaned. “It’s Shrimpy,” he grumbled.
“Well, answer it!”
“He calls you too damn much.”
“Answer the phone!”
Somehow Kageyama didn’t even have to ask for Tsukkageyama to put the phone on speaker mode. He really just wanted to hear Hinata’s voice, the way he talked to him and only him. It sounded sappy, but that was because it was, and Kageyama didn’t mind being sappy when it came to that little ball of sunshine.
“Ka-ge-ya-ma!” Hinata sang into the phone. “Are we hanging out today?”
“Yes,” Tsukkageyama groaned. Kageyama sent him a warning glare.
“Okay, because there’s this super cool festival happening right now! It’s kind of small but there’s food carts and a few games and stuff—”
“Okay.”
“Gwaah!”
“That’s not a real word.”
Kageyama sent Tsukkageyama a warning kick to the side. Both of them flinched.
“I’m on my way to your house now!”
“Wait – Hinata,” Tsukkageyama suddenly had a look of panic on his face.
“Yes?”
“I’ll…meet you there. I’m not home right now.”
“Where could Kageyama be at such an early hour?” Hinata hummed on the other side of the phone, and Kageyama really wanted to grab the phone from Tsukkageyama’s hand and tell him everything, tell him how they switched bodies and how much he missed Hinata—but Tsukkageyama had just mumbled a “you’ll see” into the phone and hung up.
“Here’s the plan,” Tsukkageyama spoke sternly to Kageyama now. “We’re going to go shopping. You’re going to tell me what Shrimpy likes, and I’m going to tell you what Yamaguchi likes. We’re going to suck it up and play good boyfriends, and after that we’ll deal with…this situation.” He gestured between the two of them.
“Right.” Kageyama wasn’t used to Tsukkageyama taking charge like this. The only time Tsukki had ever taken charge like this was during a match, when he was timing out blocks, and even then he simply said “ready, and”. There was never an explicit plan laid out like he’d just done. He watched Tsukkageyama fidget – something that Kageyama had never seen Tsukki do – and knew that Yamaguchi must be special to him, for him to be this worried about everything.
That’s not to say Kageyama wasn’t worried, because he was. But his and Hinata’s relationship was new, and while Kageyama would love to have kissed Hinata the night before and not Yamaguchi, he knew that Tsukki and Yamaguchi were practically inseparable, and that this must be hell for Tsukkageyama.
Did he actually feel bad for that asshole?
He didn’t have long to dwell on whether or not the feeling in his chest was frustration that he couldn’t see Hinata or frustration that Tsukkageyama couldn’t spend time with Yamaguchi. Tsukkageyama pushed himself up off the bed and grabbed his bag. “Let’s go,” he said without looking back at Kageyama.
***
Shopping with Tsukkageyama, as much as Kageyama hated to admit it, was kind of fun. Tsukkageyama had a habit of mumbling comments about other shoppers, saying things like “she really wore that out in public?” and “he looks like he doesn’t know how to use a hairbrush.” Kageyama would snicker behind his hand, admittedly practicing to play the role of Tsukkishima later during their double date.
As they idly walked around the store, looking for things to get each other’s boyfriends, they devised a plan. Kageyama had to pick Yamaguchi up, so Kageyama would text Tsukkageyama when they were on their way to the festival. Tsukkageyama and Hinata would buy lunch at a nearby stand and sit at a table in clear sight from the direction that Kageyama and Yamaguchi would be coming from. Once Hinata spotted Kageyama (Tsukkishima) and Yamaguchi, there was not doubt in either of their minds that Hinata would wave them over, and the group would – like magic – be on a double date.
That was the hope, anyways, as Kageyama picked out a small crow stuffed animal and gave it to Tsukkageyama. “Hinata loves stuffed animals,” he mumbled, cheeks turning somewhat pink. He hated the feeling of not getting the stuffed animal for Hinata himself; even since before they were dating, Kageyama treated Hinata to stuffed animals for special occasions. One time, he even found a calico cat plushie to commemorate a training camp with Nekoma.
Tsukkageyama didn’t say anything about Kageyama’s blushing. Instead, he led Kageyama to the flowers aisle. “Yamaguchi really likes flowers and gardening, so, um…just pick some.” Tsukkageyama wore the same frustrated blush Kageyama did as Kageyama tried to decide between two bouquets. Finally, he settled for one with orange and white lilies. The two paid for their respective gifts, and Tsukkageyama gave Kageyama directions to Yamaguchi’s house.
When they parted ways, Kageyama felt a sinking feeling in his stomach. This was really happening, and so much could go wrong in the span of a single day that he felt like his heart might beat out of his chest. He followed Tsukkageyama’s directions carefully (he’d sent them in a text while making fun of Kageyama’s short-term memory) and made it to Yamaguchi’s house much faster than he’d made it home the night before with Tsukkageyama’s directions. He wondered vaguely if Tsukkageyama had been messing with him the night before. Probably, he concluded.
He sent Tsukkageyama a text that he’d made it to Yamaguchi’s house. Just before Kageyama called to say he was outside, Yamaguchi swung open the door, smiling sweetly. “Hey, Tsukki,” he chirped, then looked down and saw the bouquet Kageyama had so carefully carried all the way here. “Oh! Are those for me?”
“Who else would they be for?” Kageyama asked in the most Tsukki tone he could muster; it must have worked, because Yamaguchi giggled and grabbed the bouquet, then planted a kiss on his cheek.
“I’ll go put these in water, then we can go. Where are we going, anyways?”
“You’ll see.”
Somehow, Kageyama felt much more relaxed on their walk to the festival than he had felt the day before. This time he listened to Yamaguchi rattle on, and maybe had he listened the day before he could have gathered just how much Yamaguchi loved to garden; he talked endlessly about the status of a few vegetable plants he was growing, as well as some sunflowers that he said reminded him of Hinata, then laughed. Kageyama smiled at this, thinking once again of Hinata as they turned a corner and headed toward the festival.
“Oh, Tsukki, you said you didn’t like festivals!” Yamaguchi’s face lit up.
“It’s not always about me,” Kageyama responded. He found it easy to act like Tsukki when it was just him and Yamaguchi; he didn’t have a grumpy face that made things like this sound cranky when he said  them to Hinata. He decided maybe the best idea for the night was to act like Yamaguchi was Hinata—
But that wouldn’t be happening, he decided, when they saw Hinata and Tsukkageyama sitting together. Hinata had the crow plushie stuffed under his arm, and he wore the absolute cutest summer outfit. Nothing could top the real Hinata, he decided quickly.
As if on cue, Hinata stood and waved the second he saw Yamaguchi and Kageyama (Tsukki). Tsukkageyama turned around and – was that a smile? Yamaguchi waved to the two with a shy smile, then looked up at Kageyama. “Tsukki, did you know they’d be here?”
“N-no,” Kageyama replied. Maybe he wasn’t entirely used to acting like Tsukkishima.
“Yamaguchi, Tsukkishima! Over here!”
When they sat, Yamaguchi let his knees bump against Kageyama’s under the table. Kageyama wondered if this was similar to the nervous tick Hinata had; whenever Hinata was unsure of himself, he would tap his fingers in a certain pattern on Kageyama’s shoulder, palm, whatever was closest. And, if Kageyama was able, he’d get Hinata out of that situation. Again, something they’d been doing long before they started dating.
“What are you guys doing here?” Tsukkageyama asked, trying his best to sound like actual Kageyama.
“Tsukki brought me here,” Yamaguchi replied with a smile over at Kageyama. “We’re on a—”
“Friend date!” Hinata piped up quickly, his cheeks and ears red with embarrassment. “Yup, us too! Right, Kageyama?”
“Oh, um, yeah,” Tsukkageyama nodded. His eyes were trained on Kageyama with a look of subtle horror in his eyes as both of them came to the realization that either they would have to admit they were dating, or they would continue in this unsettling atmosphere.
“How’s your face?” Hinata asked Kageyama, sneering a bit. “Kageyama got you good, didn’t he?”
“Oh—um, it’s fine,” Kageyama struggled, being put under the spotlight far too quickly. “I deserved it.”
That shocked everyone at the table, including Tsukkageyama, who made a quick sputtering noise and shook his head. “No, I’m sorry I did that,” he said finally, and it sounded much too sincere to be coming from either Tsukki or Kageyama.
Kageyama waved it off after the momentary shock and the group instead shifted to discussing some television show that Hinata and Yamaguchi both enjoyed. Hinata was trying to explain the plot to Tsukkageyama while Yamaguchi argued about how the two main characters were obviously in love to Kageyama. Both of them looked at each other from the corners of their eyes, completely confused because neither one of them had seen a single episode of the show.
It became harder and harder for Kageyama to watch Hinata mindlessly drum his fingers on Tsukkageyama’s hand. That should be me, he thought stubbornly, and he didn’t even notice how hard he was glaring until Yamaguchi nudged him with his knee under the table. “Is something wrong?” Yamaguchi asked in a hushed tone, moving his face a bit closer to Kageyama’s.
“N-no, it’s nothing,” Kageyama flushed a bit and felt somewhat guilty. No matter how much he despised Tsukkishima, he’d never want to do something to jeopardize his relationship with Yamaguchi.
“Well, you look angrier than usual. We can go do something else, if you want—”
“Yamaguchi and I are going to go play some games,” Kageyama announced in as bored of a tone as he could muster. Hinata and Tsukkageyama looked over at him, almost quizzically, but soon Kageyama and Yamaguchi were on their feet and heading towards the game stalls.
“I want to play something too, Ka-ge-ya-ma!” Hinata sang in that same way he’d done multiple times already. Tsukkageyama wondered what it would sound like if Yamaguchi said his name in a singsong way like that. He concluded after a moment that it would sound terrible; he liked the nickname Tsukki all too much.
“Bet I can beat you at the ring toss,” Tsukkageyama decided the most Kageyama-like thing to do would be to induce competition.
“Oh, you’re on!” Hinata laughed, a bright and sunny laugh that reminded him of the way Yamaguchi laughed when it was just the two of them. He sighed and glanced around, catching sight of Yamaguchi playing some sort of rubber duck fishing game with Kageyama, their shoulders bumping. Both of them wore wide smiles.
Tsukkageyama had never taken Yamaguchi to a festival, despite knowing just how much his boyfriend enjoyed the people and the food and the sights. He’d never wanted to put himself willingly into that close of proximity with people for fear that they’d somehow read Tsukki’s mind and know that he was gay, and that he was dating his childhood friend. He wasn’t ashamed of Yamaguchi; he was afraid of admitting to anyone (himself, mostly) that he liked men. He loved Yamaguchi with all of his heart, and he wanted to protect Yamaguchi with his life, but still he found it exceedingly difficult to take Yamaguchi on dates where someone else might figure that out.
Hinata and Tsukkageyama bounded towards the ring toss stall, which was just a few stalls down from where Kageyama and Yamaguchi were. Kageyama stood close to Yamaguchi, and every once in a while Yamaguchi would lean up against him and smile up at him like he was the only person there. Tsukkageyama’s heart clutched and he forced himself to look away. He had gotten used to that look being special, being just for him; but he supposed that meant Kageyama was doing a good job playing the part of him, and that should be a good thing, right? Why did he feel so hurt?
“Hey, Kageyama,” Hinata tugged on Tsukkageyama’s sleeve. Some of his mannerisms secretly made Tsukkageyama wonder if maybe Kageyama was just into petite girls and he couldn’t get a girlfriend with his scary face, so he settled for the next best thing.
“What?” Tsukkageyama snapped back, but judging by the look on Hinata’s face, Kageyama didn’t bark at him like that when they were alone. “Sorry,” he added.
“It’s fine. You just seem a little tenser than usual. Did you not want to spend time with Tsukkishima and Yamaguchi? Because I’m sorry, I spoke without thinking—”
“It’s alright,” Tsukkageyama said quickly.
“Do you think they’re dating?” Hinata followed up in a genuinely thoughtful tone. “I mean, they’re always so close. And Yamaguchi told me one time that Tsukkishima comes and spends the night a lot.”
“That doesn’t automatically mean they’re dating,” Tsukkageyama responded, trying to hide the fear and frustration in his tone.
“Well, yeah, but…” Hinata smiled up at him. “That’s how we got together, isn’t it?”
“I-I guess?” It was genuinely a question; Tsukkageyama had no idea how they got together.
Hinata laughed at the look of confusion on his face and turned his attention to the ring toss game. “Either way, they look happy together. I hope they’re happy.”
That sent Tsukkageyama’s head swirling. What did Hinata mean? Was that supposed to be some sort of joke? Tsukkishima had never taken the time to care about the Shrimp’s happiness before all of this, and up until this point, he hadn’t been planning on caring about it after. How come Hinata cared if he was happy or not? He never paid any attention to Hinata’s happiness, and he was sure Hinata had to know that.
Tsukkageyama must have zoned out, because he was brought back into reality with a swift kick to the back. He winced, and just a few stalls down he saw Kageyama wince, too, then scowl over at Tsukkageyama as if he was the one who had just kicked them in the back. “Earth to Kageyama,” Hinata giggled. “What’s up?”
“It’s nothing,” Tsukkageyama plastered a frown onto his face that he hoped looked similar to Kageyama’s. It must not have been quite right, because Hinata giggled even more.
“Are you sure? You look constipated.”
“Why do you care about m—Tsukkishima’s happiness?” he finally spat. He had to know.
“Oh,” Hinata shrugged. “He’s my teammate. He may be mean and all, but I still care about him. Because if he’s happy he plays volleyball better!” Hinata accentuated this with a pump of his fist to the air. “Besides, if he plays volleyball better, then it’s a real competition of who’s the best middle blocker!”
Tsukkageyama wasn’t sure what he expected, but it wasn’t that. He laughed, then, something he rarely did in his own body. Hinata watched him with a look of confusion. “Why’s that funny?”
“Because it all comes down to volleyball, like always,” Tsukkageyama sighed after he calmed down.
“Well, volleyball is my favorite thing. And that means you’re also my favorite thing by extension,” Hinata nudged into Tsukkageyama playfully, and Tsukkageyama’s face flushed. Yamaguchi said things like this to him, but they were rare and always followed up by a million apologies. However, Hinata was unapologetic and smiling, and he kind of liked that. Tsukkageyama didn’t know how Kageyama responded to these types of things, though, so he just smiled and tossed the rest of his rings at the bottles, missing every single one.

The four of them gathered again at a table for dinner. Yamaguchi carried a large chibi flower stuffed animal under his arm that Kageyama must have won for him, and Hinata and Tsukkageyama both had a variety of small, cheap plushies. The conversation flowed much better than it had earlier that day, and Kageyama hated to admit it, but Yamaguchi and Tsukki (inside Kageyama’s body or not) were quite fun to spend time with. He knew Hinata must have been having the same thoughts, because as Tsukkageyama and Hinata parted ways, Hinata exclaimed that “We should do this again soon!” as they walked away.
Once they were gone, Yamaguchi sidled up closer to Kageyama. “I think they’re dating,” he said finally.
“Yeah,” Kageyama mumbled, not entirely processing that wait, Yamaguchi had figured it out. His face flushed when he did have that realization.
“Well, it makes sense,” Yamaguchi shrugged. “They spend like, all their free time together.”
“I guess it does make some sense.” Kageyama inwardly panicked. Were they really that obvious? Did the whole team already know? He had to remind himself how surprised Tsukkageyama had been when he found out, despite having already guessed it.
“Do you want to spend the night? My parents aren’t home.”
Now, Kageyama would do a lot of things to keep them from getting found out—kissing, cuddling, hugging…but he would not lose his virginity to Yamaguchi. “S-sorry, I’ve got some homework to do. Maybe later this week?” He hoped in his suggestion that their bodies would switch back later that week.
“Oh. Yeah,” Yamaguchi plastered a smile on his face. Kageyama could immediately tell he’d upset the boy; he knew the look of a fake-smile all too well from the many times Hinata tried not to act offended when Kageyama said he had to go home after hours of after-school practice.
“I really am sorry,” Kageyama insisted. “Can I walk you home?”
“Yeah, sure.”

It had been a few days now that Kageyama and Tsukkishima were trapped in each other’s bodies. The two were getting antsy to find a solution, but so far their only lead they had was the shrine visit from over a month ago. After some feverish Googling, Kageyama and Tsukkageyama found the American film Freaky Friday, which may have been of some help if the two had gone to a cheap Chinese restaurant and gotten strange fortune cookies.
Kageyama had to quadruple check with Tsukkageyama that that didn’t happen. Each time, Tsukkageyama had to remind Kageyama that they didn’t go out to eat with each other. Like, ever.
Their acting slowly improved during volleyball practices to the point that they were acting mostly like themselves again on the court. Tsukkageyama even attempted a freak quick pass, which went well for the most part, except Hinata had to hit it with his left hand. Everyone in the club seemed to be off their trail.
Except for Suga.
Suga waited in the clubroom until Tsukkageyama and Kageyama were the last ones, idly fumbling with his gym bag. Before they could leave, he cleared his throat and put a smile on his face. “Hey, you two,” he chirped, “how about you take a seat?”
The two glanced at each other and swallowed thickly. Neither one of them had the guts to dash out the door and run forever from Suga, so they accepted their defeat and sat on the bench together, heads hung. “Now,” Suga began, “I might not be the smartest person on the team, but there’s a reason I’m called the most observant.”
Shit, Kageyama thought.
“You two are playing some sort of weird game,” Suga still wore his intimidating smile. “You’re acting like each other. Why?”
He doesn’t know, Tsukkageyama thought.
“We switched bodies—”
“We’re practicing for a play—”
The two spoke at the same time, then looked at each other in confusion. Suga shook his head. “I can’t understand you with both of you talking at once. One at a time, please.”
“We’re…practicing for a play?”
“Right! A play!”
Suga laughed out loud at this. “Yeah, right. You don’t have time for that,” he waved his hand dismissively. “What was that other thing?”
Kageyama looked at Tsukkageyama nervously. Both of them looked up finally, completely defeated. “We switched bodies,” they said together.
Suga laughed even harder at this – that is, until he noticed that neither of the boys in front of him were laughing. His laughter slowly died. “You…you are joking, right?”
“Sadly, no,” Tsukkageyama replied. “It’s been like this since last Friday.”
“Is that why—”
“Tsukkishima punched me in the face,” Kageyama replied, and Suga was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that Tsukkishima had just referred to himself in the third person – no, that was Kageyama, not Tsukkishima.
“Jesus,” he sighed. “I thought you were just playing some stupid prank or something…”
“I wish,” they responded at the same time.
“Quit doing that!” Suga cried. “You’re freaking me out now.”
“Do you know how to help?” Kageyama asked desperately.
Suga tapped his chin in thought. “Have you seen the movie Freaky Friday?” he asked finally.
“We didn’t eat any Chinese food,” Tsukkageyama replied bluntly.
“Well, that’s not exactly what I mean. In the movie, the mom and the daughter don’t switch back until they do something nice for each other and see each other’s points of view. Have you tried that?”
“I’d rather smack our heads together,” Tsukkageyama droned.
“They do that in the movie too,” Kageyama noted. The two seemed all too eager to do that, and Suga had to throw himself between them to keep them from throwing their heads together.
“Bad plan,” Suga huffed as he separated the two. “Okay, we’ll keep this our little secret. Let’s have lunch together again today and we can try to figure it out.”
“Hinata will be upset if I bail again,” Tsukkageyama replied. Kageyama glanced over at him, shocked; some time after their visit to the festival, Tsukkageyama had started caring more about Hinata. He even stopped referring to him as Shrimpy to Kageyama.
“Well then maybe we can try after practice. Tsukki—Kageyama, is that okay with you?” Suga asked.
“I usually walk Yamaguchi home,” he replied, rubbing his neck. Suga groaned.
“This might be a little harder than we thought.”
***
They ended up settling for meeting at Suga’s apartment later that evening. Neither Tsukkageyama nor Kageyama commented on the fact that Suga lived alone; they both supposed they knew next to nothing about their upperclassman. By the time Kageyama arrived after walking Yamaguchi home, Tsukkageyama was already sitting on the floor across from Suga, drinking tea from a colorful mug.
Suga greeted Kageyama with a warm smile and a cup of tea for himself. “Tsukkishima and I were just trying to think of some things that might work,” he said as he led Kageyama into the apartment.
Despite how uncomfortable the atmosphere should have felt, the group spent a great deal of time laughing and joking with each other. It was especially strange when Suga heard Tsukkishima full on laugh the first time; of course, that voice had come from Kageyama, but Tsukkageyama was laughing, too.
They brainstormed for a good, long while, not even bothering about the time despite it being a school night. The best option they could come up with was to see one another’s point of view, like they did in that movie Freaky Friday, but slamming heads together was kept as a back-up option.
The group was startled from their brainstorming session when there was another knock at the door. “Shit,” Suga breathed, still wearing a smile as he pushed himself up and walked to the door. Kageyama and Tsukkageyama heard a muffled noise, then a yelp, then a door slam. “Wrong address!” Suga said quickly as he came back into the room, but neither of them bought it.
A little bit later, they said their good-byes and thanked Suga for everything. He waved them away, saying how he always enjoyed extra company. Tsukkageyama and Kageyama passed by Daichi in the hallway, who was seemingly trying to hide behind a fake plant. It only dawned on Kageyama as he was walking to Tsukkishima’s house what Daichi had been there for, but he tried to shake the thought away and imagined that maybe Daichi was just there to…study. Yeah, study. At around midnight on a school night. Of course.
That evening left him much to think about besides Daichi and Suga’s…study session. He wondered what it meant to see things from Tsukkishima’s point of view. He supposed seeing out of Tsukkishima’s eyes was the ultimate view of his point of view, but obviously that wasn’t the answer. Plus, he was getting antsy. Not being able to set to Hinata was eating away at him, and he felt like he might explode in a heap of jealousy soon if he watched Tsukkageyama set even one more poorly-received toss to Hinata.
