Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Dabi shows his love by making fun of you. You are his and always will be, so he reserves the right to tease you relentlessly. There are his softer moments where he’ll sneak up behind you and wrap you up in a hug, but this doesn’t exactly last long because he’s more than likely going to whisper something very dirty in your ear.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Dabi is literally a villain who has killed before and has no problem with doing it again. Whereas he can be impulsive and just off a bitch, he does like to play the long game and make his predators piss themselves. This might look like hunting them down after days of psychologically tormenting them.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

Oh, you betchya! He is 100% going to make you cry within the first hour, and not just from scaring you. “What’s the matter? Already crying and I haven’t even hit you yet.” He taunts you because he loves provoking you. He wants you to get riled up so that he has a reason to be violent with you, not that he actually needs one.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

I’m sorry to say this, but I honestly believe Dabi would rape you. He just seems like a yandere who doesn’t give two shits about if you want it or not. He has you, so he’ll have all of you.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

When the two of you are in bed together, he’ll hold you in his arms and whisper about how pretty you are. “I picked a good one.” These are the nicest things he’ll ever say to you.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

I think he likes to see you be feisty. It shows him that you haven’t been broken yet. He doesn’t want a lifeless doll. He wants someone he can interact with. He views you fighting him as a plus because it just means that he can fight back and show off how powerful he is.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

It’s not like he’d leave the door open on purpose. It’s more like he’s so confident in his ability to track you down that he’ll give you a fifteen minute head start. He likes catching you in a state of panic. He likes snatching you by your waist and throwing you over his shoulder. He, especially, likes beating your ass when you get home for trying to escape.

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

Being chained up and starved. Dabi uses this method for more extreme cases if you’re not cooperating. Not having any food in you for a few days to a week makes you docile. Your head will kind of just lull from side to side, and it takes you a while to start acting like yourself again. Seeing you so weak makes him laugh because he finds it adorable. For you, it’s a fucking nightmare.

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

Dabi just wants something to belong to him. As long as you’re with him (he doesn’t really care if you’re happy), he’s happy. It’ll be better if you make things easier for him, but all in all, he just wants you to be with him.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Dabi gets hella jealous. You’re his and only his. Someone puts their hand on your shoulder, he’s cussing them out and doing irreparable damage. You’ll be lucky if brain matter doesn’t coat the walls. He’ll turn it around on you once he’s done with the guy you were talking to, though. “Why are you fucking talking to him like that?” He’s definitely kicking your ass for that stupid mistake you made.

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

He always has an arm hung around your shoulders, giving others the hint that you’re taken. It’s a plus that he gets to hold you close as well. He’ll also make out with you in public too. He’s not ashamed as he gropes your ass any time, any where.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

You two never started dating. You guys hooked up, had a one night stand. At least, it was supposed to be. The sex was too good for Dabi to just let you go, so he kidnapped you, and now you’re in this twisted relationship with him.

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

When he decides to not be so rough with you, he can be kind of romantic. He shows his softer side to you during these times. He won’t threaten you, he won’t make almost every comment out of his mouth sexual. Surprise, surprise, the man actually has a filter. He can’t act this way around others, however. He still has a villainous reputation to maintain.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

With a flaming blue hand. He’s not afraid to mark up your body. It’s one of his favorite pass times. Putting you over his knee, branding your ass with his palm, it’s exhilarating to him. When you start uttering pleas for forgiveness or declarations of apologies, he still keeps beating the hell out of you. He pushes you well past your limits, but it’s only for “his pleasure and your best interest”.

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

All of them. Say goodbye to pissing with the bathroom door shut. You don’t even have bodily autonomy anymore.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

He’s not patient like you think. If you start yelling at him, he’ll wait for you to finish throwing your tantrum. “Are you done? You finally done shrieking in my ear? Alright, let me tell you what’s gonna happen now.” He’ll grab you by the throat and slam you down on the table. “You’re gonna go to the room, you’re gonna get naked, and you’re gonna make this little incident up to me. Got it? Good.” He’ll send you off with a light slap to your face.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

Dabi is possessive. Even though he likes to rough you up in and out of the bedroom, you’re still his girl. He has a special bond with you, one that’s not easy to break. He needs to keep you with him, and he can keep you safe from others while he does that. He needs to have you in every way possible. Despite all of this, if you ended up dying, I think he would be able to move on, but that’s only if you die. If you manage to successfully escape, he will exhaust every available resource in order to hunt you down, and he will find you.

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

He doesn’t feel guilty about abducting you. If you really fuck up with him, if you really can’t find it in yourself to just make things easy for Dabi, then he will contemplate killing you. The villain can only put up with so much. If he actually does kill you, then that’s what he’ll feel guilty about because he formed a bond with you that he ended up having to cut ties with in such a horrible way.

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)? Well, his childhood turned him into a villain. I’d say his sadistic and yandere tendencies stem from being a villain but are rooted in his childhood.

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

He relishes in your pain. It completely turns him on. Whether your sobs are from pain, torment, or fear, it doesn’t matter to him. You could say he has a crying kink.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

His cruelty is unlike the classic yandere. The man has frustrations and limited outlets, so you end up as his punching bag or cock sleeve most of the time. It’s not like he can just go take a karate class during his free time.

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Use his physical weakness against him. Keep asking if that’s “all he’s got”. Dabi isn’t immune to his own fire. It literally causes him damage that takes a long while to recover from. If you can find a way to withstand his quirk or have him burn something for you, then you might just find a way to escape.

Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

Yes, 100% would hurt you mentally and physically. He’d laugh at you too.

Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

He doesn’t worship you. In fact, it would delight him if YOU worshipped him. It would give him a major ego boost. He doesn’t feel the need to win you over. It’s either comply or get hurt.

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

He doesn’t leave you hanging for long after that “one night stand”. It only takes a few days to a week maybe before he snatches you up and takes you to your forever nightmare home.

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

If you do break, he’ll either use you as a flesh light or kill you. He doesn’t have time to put up with this kind of mind set. It’s pathetic to him. He can’t help thinking this. He knows he did it to you, but he thought you were so much stronger than this.

4. When scared, does your OC fight, flee, freeze or fawn?

Caine- flight. eyes closed, he doesnt want to see whats going down, and hightailing it as fast as possible. thats what happened during checkpoint three in retri, and wouldve been his choice during heartbreak if they werent ! that said, after the bad dream (the one before we meet chen in the boneyard), he Did stay stock still, since he got the freeze instinct trained into him. (actually i just remembered they punched mitchel (from @hyper-pixels, hi) after they woke up from a bad void dream???? so maybe they just have a weird amalgamation of instincts that crop up depending on the situation).

Cyrus- its a toss-up between fight and flight for him– hes 100% a coward and not afraid to cut his losses when he thinks he needs to, but at the same time, hes a stubborn bastard and has a Lot of anger to spare. generally speaking, his first instinct is fight. its only after he takes the time to assess a situation when he decides what hes going to do though– if he thinks he has a fighting chance, hes going for it. interestingly, hes less willing to fight things now that hes a villain than he was as a hero.

Cecilia- fight. honestly, theres no debate. anybody who has the audacity to scare her is going to face one (1) Incredibly pissed off ceci and probably more than a few fresh bruises. she hates feeling scared–it makes her feel powerless, and thats something she swore shed never experience again. fighting her fears makes her feel like theres something she can do about it, even if its superficial.

Cynthia- its either freeze or fawn, and the farm taught her both <3 she cant bring herself to fight or run because both actions were punished. she found out quickly enough that just taking it gave her a lighter sentence overall, and she continued to use that. fun(?) fact, 'just taking it' pretty much carried her into becoming a fighter step, because her pain tolerance is high as hell now. she still takes the armor upgrade though, just in case.

19. How does your OC behave when enraged?

Caine- hah. ok. well, in most cases, he wont hurt you. most of the time, hed settle for a clenched jaw and a glare. also not above leaving the room, no matter how important the person theyre talking to is. id say they get quiet when theyre angry, but theyre quiet most of the time so itd be hard to differentiate between normal quiet and 'fantasizing-about-watching-the-light-leave-from-their-eyes' quiet. if they have a reason to hurt them though? if hes in his armor, or its otherwise possible to inflict sufficient damage to them? at least One bone is breaking. if the person is regina specifically, shes not leaving the interaction with her life.

Cyrus- tear the bitch apart. psychologically???? physically???? emotionally????? why not all three of them! it would really depend on the situation, but by now cyrus knows how to rein in his anger just enough to figure out what would hurt somebody the most. this could range from kicking their ass to giving them a breakdown by systematically targeting their fears/insecurities. hes a cunt, but hes Smart about it.

Cecilia- Lots of yelling. probably more than a few punches too. her anger is explosive and raw, and its very easy for her to get caught up in it. that said, it doesnt last long either– once the initial anger burns out, shes willing to forget about it. if you piss her off, its a matter of how good you are at weathering the brute anger, which, granted, can be hard to do considering ceci like to hit things. she likes to hit things hard.

Cynthia- that depends when in the timeline she gets angry, because those have very different answers. pre-retri ending, she Refused to show her anger. you could not force her to. echo may end up being slightly more erratic if she got into an argument or something like that, but that was it. but the minute ortega accused her of being a regene copy? that switched up Quick. if she was going to be seen as a monster and a fake, fine, shell play the part. nowadays, getting her pissed means you have a target on your back, and not only is she patient in ruining your life, her high caution means its very difficult for her emotions to blind her. she acts cold, nearly apathetic, but rest assured shes finding out exactly what makes you tick.

14# for the Salty Ask List! What's your unpopular opinion about your fandom(s)?

OKAY SO. (This will be long, TL/DR at the bottom)

First of all, I love league of legends (as you may have guessed from my profile picture) and my unpopular opinion is that it (both the game and the fandom) gets shit on WAY too much. As someone who loves math, figuring out optimal builds is so much fun for me! I love solving puzzles and making rune pages and builds for different characters and then getting to try them out is so much fun for me! Is there a big Shonen anime brand misogyny problem in parts of the fandom? Yes, absolutely. Is it probably a good idea to mute liberally because of rampant toxicity? Also yes. But I've met some great people there too!!! Maybe I'm just incredibly fucking resilient because I've been dunked in some of the deepest strongest acid vats of toxicity and negativity out there (conservative christian upbringing, league of legends, playing riven specifically, Twitter, tiktok, Steven Universe fandom) and am still a ray of sunshine in person, but I actually quite enjoy it. Do I wish it wasn't hilariously broken with a character roster that's very much male dominated? Yes. Is there a misogyny problem even within the character balancing (male OP characters get ignored or buffed while female OP characters get nerfed into the ground)? Yes. But there's so much fun to be had if you know how.

Okay. Second big fandom is Team Fortress 2 and I think that uh. Well to put it kindly I think a lot of them miss the entire point of the game. They basically have sticks up their asses about weapons being "fair and balanced" and while I agree that they should be to a certain extent, I also think focusing on that too much risks losing the spirit of the game. If I wanted an optimized, polished first person shooter, I'd play overwatch. If blizzard could get it's shit together for five fucking seconds and realize it's making some of the worst possible business decisions with the game that is. But anyway back to TF2. If we were to optimize every single weapon to be 100% fair and balanced, we miss the entire point of the game. Like, a vast majority of the game would be gone if that were the case. It's not very fair and balanced to run through a doorway only to get instantly blown up because there were 5 stickybombs there you couldn't see, but removing that would make it not TF2. I think probably the best example of this is the Sandman and Flying Guillotine combo, may she be restored soon. Was it entirely balanced? No. But in my opinion that wasn't a good reason to remove it entirely. Same with the degreaser/reserve shooter combo. Just because they're annoying doesn't mean you get rid of them entirely. Another thing they get too upset about is when someone dare suggest that a niche weapon should be buffed to checks notes fill it's niche better. Take the amputator. It's niche is to provide AoE healing. But the situations where that's handy become uh. Much less frequent thanks to the specific quirks of how it works. You enter a short taunt during which you can't move. I personally feel like it could be better served by some sort of recharging bar and a big movement speed debuff. The other big hindrance is that the damage is a direct downgrade to the stock. The other Melees all provide some sort of combat advantage to stock. The ��bersaw has a slower swing speed but greatly increased critical hit chance, which if you ask literally anyone who has played with or against the Übersaw, is a significant understatement. The vita-saw provides a psychological advantage with slightly less health but the knowledge that if you do die, you won't lose all of your Über. And the Amputator is basically the Overwatch experience, trading swing speed for knowledge of the enemy's health. The amputator provides none of this, which makes it pretty shitty as a self-defense tool. It does less damage than stock with no increased swing speed or bleed effect to balance things out. I won't go into a whole bunch of detail about my fixes but I just find it ridiculous the types of things that they say will lead to power creep. The Ambassador used to be able to headshot people from as far away as you could headshot people without a zoom, and it was just accepted as part of the game for the longest time. And I'm supposed to believe that weapons filling their intended purpose is gonna be too powerful? Okay whatever. I doubt hordes of people will be swapping off of Soldier just to hit me to death with a slightly improved bonesaw on the class that has the least combat capacity but apparently it's definitely going to happen if the amputator isn't a direct downgrade to the stock in terms of self-defense!!! Sorry this got long but basically:

TL/DR:

League of Legends isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be and there's a lot of fun to be had if you know how to curate your experience

Some TF2 players are way too tryhard

unfortunate purple thoughts

So generally after I've hit a certain point on a project, the kids go on vacay for a while until they're ready for me to start again. Dei's just recently returned to my brain hotel and is chilling and answering questions now.

The topic came up of nightmares, since well ya know, NMC. I asked them if they had any and they went well yeah, not regularly but every once in a while like anyone. But it turns out their nightmares aren't even what they went through from Mad. They're mainly over being left behind, or abandoned again.

And I knew it messed with them, but I don't think I realized that that was the first big crack of damage. So if that was the crack, what Mad did was the crowbar prying it open. I feel like I misunderstood them for a while on what I was assuming was the primary damage. I mean yes, physically, they are very fucked up from Mad as well as psychologically, but it wasn't what started it - like I had assumed.

Wondering now, like how things would have been different if the others had stayed with them. They're already much stronger than they give themselves credit for (for lasting way longer than many others). If it took more than a week of Mad being well, himself, before they fully broke - and Mad already got them at their weakened state - I don't honestly think they would have turned Nightmare otherwise.

Both paths are bad, kennelmaster dickhead supreme would have 100% killed them with his methods and manners of conversion. Which is revolting and gruesome. The current path is better, even if it doesn't always seem like it.

But yeah, good gods Dei, you're way tougher than I think I had - and for sure you have- given yourself credit for.

Death to iPad Girls

If you are a sensitive young man like me, you will have already felt this frustration welling up inside of you for years now, and I am only about to give voice to what you already know. iPad girls need to be burned at the stake. These God forsaken women have ruined the only thing I enjoy doing during university lectures: Zoning out and looking over peoples’ shoulders to see what they’re doing. They don’t want you to know this, but the raised seating in a lecture hall is designed specifically with this purpose in mind; it is a pass time aristocrats of the soul have enjoyed for centuries, and now women have finally found a way to ruin this, too.

My first encounter with an iPad girl was during my first year in a course called “great philosophers”. I was there scanning the room as I usually do, when I noticed a guy with a mustache, mullet, and foot tattoo (yes he was in sandals in November in Canada) engaged in a peculiar behavioural loop that I couldn’t take my eyes off for some 15 minutes: He would receive a snapchat picture of someone’s face with no caption or notable expression of any sort, he would parse the received data in a split second, and then his thumbs would fire away, dextrously closing the snap and sending an identical one of his face with no caption or notable expression back. He must have had 20 or 30 such correspondences going on at the same time, and even when I got bored of watching him and was about to look away, he showed no sign of letting up. This was a riveting 15 minutes of observation, but my good mood was not going to last... There was an iPad girl lying in the midst.

I saw something truly horrific that day. A massive, 13 inch iPad, full brightness (no doubt on purpose to draw my attention) on which a young woman (I won’t say what race) was taking notes that looked more like doodles. Yes, they looked like the hit game “Doodle Jump”. The heading read “plato ‘n’ shit”. There were squiggly lines of varying colours all over the place, and there was so much text that I can only imagine it was a word-for-word transcript of what the professor had been saying for the last 40 minutes. Do you think any of this is even remotely acceptable? There’s no way you’re ever gonna read all those notes. Can’t you be normal and do something good or interesting like the foot tattoo guy?

This really soured my mood, and it wasn’t long before I realized I can’t look anywhere without seeing one of these iPad ghouls. They’re not just in the lecture halls, they’ve invaded every space that’s supposed to be for thinking and chilling! They’re in the library, the cafe, even the TRAIN! They’re on the train drawing on their stupid adult etch-a-sketch. I can’t even watch the mentally ill Somali man jerk off in peace! No, there has to be some broad taking notes with a subheading like “BIO 3306: Prostate Cancer idk”, relentlessly pummelling her iPad with a plastic stylus. It’s at times like these that I gain respect for the mentally ill Somali man. I would NOT be able to cum under these circumstances!

These devices are dangerous and I think the law really ought to regulate them as such. Pink bluetooth keyboards and apple pencils should just be outright illegal. If this continues, I will be forced to take my suffered psychological damages to the Supreme Court and argue that women should not be allowed to attend university anymore. They’ve only been allowed to for like 100 years, and they’re already shitting up the place, LITERALLY. They want to write the word “shit” on their iPad in their notes. Is this okay? Are you fine with this? Do you think you can outrun me in a dark alley at 3 AM?

I don't have any Disorders that have any Stigmas that relate to being abusive. However one of my closest friends do have disorders that could be seen as a (quote un quote) "Abusive Disorder", As for not Spreading real Names, I'll Call this Person Jane, and in the Past she has psychologically Damaged many people (Plus Myself) I avoided her for around 3 Years, because I wasn't Able to Handle her. However, I still hung out with some People that did Still talk to this Friend during those years. And they'd tell me how Jane would do a lot of Crazy Things like Break into her Family's Alcohol Stash and Drink a shitton of it, as well as have Se× with people she didn't know 100% well.

Well, once I was Mentally Stable enough to Handle Jane, We began talking again. And she began trying shit she did in the past. But I didn't let her. I would never be mean about it. She would Punch me with a Crapton of Force when I said something she found "Comedically Stupid" (like an Innuendo or general Dumbass Childish Humor) and I told her to stop On multiple occasions politely, and one day I grabbed her wrist as she hit me and I looked her in the eyes and told her if she didn't stop, then she May as well not come sit with us anymore. I didn't yell or hit her back, I felt like a Mom who got sick if her kid being a Brat and scolded her kid for being a brat. And she got pissy or whatever, but after a Few days of her Trying to Avoid me she sat with me on the Bus and we talked about many things, and She straight up told me that even though She acted Pissed she was actually Terrified because That was the First time any of her Friends physically Restrained her instead of Letting her get away with it, or getting Physically/Verbally Violent with her.

After that Incident, We hung out more often and I realized she would do certain things because she craved any form of attention, And since she would only get attention through aggressive ways and se×ual ways that's what she would do to not be Left behind. I decided that if I really care about Jane as much as I say I do. Then I want to help her get Healthy. So I began to attempt deterring her attempts of trying to get Negative attention, if I could tell she was trying to start Drama I would say "Okay. I'm not going to Argue Back, Instead I am going to let you calm down. Feel free to let me know if You've calmed down aite?" And I'll do Just that. Recently I've noticed her stirring up Less Drama. Which is something Crazy because She's been known for starting Drama that's unneeded with anyone. And We have "play arguments" for example I'll tease her for being Short and she will Jokingly call me a tall Goblin or something. I've also straight up told her (and all my other friends) that if I am doing something that upsets them To tell me asap, because I would rather be hurt for a Few moments than have Them Hurt for so long. For example, Jane disliked it when I teased her about having a Crush on someone so I since then have been holding myself Back from those Jokes. It's been over a Year since we Began talking again. And Honestly, This is Probably the Happiest I have ever seen Jane, We're both entering our Senior Year (12th Grade) and we've known each other since 5th Grade, What I wanted to spread here is, while certain disorders can cause "abusive Behavior" in most cases it's for a Reason, in Jane's Case it was because she was wanting to be included, noticed, and accepted. But because negativity gave her something similar to what she wanted, she Became something she Didn't enjoy being. And when she was given a Chance to change she Took it. That being said, Not everyone wants to change. And if that is the case so be it. And if you feel you Can't handle befriending someone like this, Don't feel obligated to. I put it like this, If your Legs are Broken To the point you can't walk, You can't save someone Drowning.

Code Geass - Brings back memories of senior year in high school where I binged all 25 episodes of the first season during finals week, then binged all 25 episodes of the second season the next week. Season 1 was eh but it was building up for the actual bone-deep pain of Season 2. The Zero Requiem finale still hits man, it's such a perfect way to end the series. Why are mecha animes so steeped in heavy politics. Good for them! Also the Pizza Hut placements were great (we love you Cheese-kun).

Mob Psycho 100 - AMAZING ANIMATION. AMAZING STORYTELLING. WHOLESOME HIGH SCHOOLERS GOING THROUGH THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF LIFE WHILE ALSO HAVING THE MOST POWERFUL PSYCHIC ABILITIES. Genuinely feel-good, so many inspirational quotes in here. Made me cry on some occasions because I didn't expect to hear the words I needed to hear from a shounen anime of all things. Also Reigen is babygirl for a REASON.

Peaky Blinders - Where do I start. I like period dramas, and the premise intrigued me. Season 1 is so damaging to me in so many ways like I don't think any other show could get as perfect as those six episodes AAAAA IM SO ATTACHED TO IT. The whole cast are phenomenal and they really carried the show, and the song features are so good too. Also Cillian Murphy is so hot goddamn.

The Promised Neverland - DO NOT WATCH THE SECOND SEASON. Anyway. I read the manga so I know how the rest of the plot goes, but Season 1 is such an amazing display of psychological horror. The visceral fear of realizing Isabella is always one step ahead of the kids, and just generally trying outpace her while acting like everything's normal. Wow.

Attack on Titan - lol. I don't really care much about the new series anymore, but back in 2013 this was the first anime I properly watched (and the rest of the world had its dick and balls gripped by the Salute™ and the Wings of Freedom™ too). I guess I was pretty fucked up as a kid for thinking I had the balls to join the Survey Corps and could live to tell the tale. Formative anime of all time actually.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - A childhood classic. What else do I say, it's just perfect. Amazing. Fantastic. Spectacular. I have official books of that franchise: all four of The Lost Scrolls, one of the Journey Through The Earth Kingdom books, and the Tales of Zuko book. It's just so dear and close to my heart, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Adventure Time - Another childhood classic. I think I watched every episode up until the first few episodes of Season 5, then I just stopped caring SHDFJSJKFH. BUT. But, it's also still very meaningful to me, it's an amazing combination of fun but also unintentionally dark. I should pick up on it again when I have the time, honestly.

Bungou Stray Dogs - I haven't touched anything related to this anime since 2019 but this is really that one show that shaped me for a long while, mostly because I met my internet friends because of this show, and my first few days on Twitter was dedicated to being a BSD fan. The whole concept too of characters based off famous classic authors with abilities names after their most famous works is really a banger, it made me a reader again.

I feel you 100% I often look back at the many years prior to my own diagnosis and realize the same. Self gaslighting re illness can be so damaging (especially if healthcare providers are gaslighting you as well). I'm glad you're at a point now where you're able to affirm to yourself the existence of your illness, not just now but in the past, and the need for care ❤ I know for me hitting that point in my life was complicated emotionally but was really important both psychologically and physiologically. I'm so glad you have a comfy bed and a dog to keep you company! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and just wanted you to know that your writing has provided so much joy and much needed escapism for me.

under the cut you’ll find some headcanons about calamity’s mental state, particularly her experience with borderline personality disorder 💛

the most important thing to note is that calamity is undiagnosed. she doesn’t visit doctors unless she absolutely has to for physical ailments. her emotional intelligence and awareness isn’t high enough to even consider psychological help, and even if it was, she probably wouldn’t want it.

that being said, borderline individuals usually show a pattern of instability in personal relationships, self image, and more. calamity has markings for 8/9 of the “big 9″ characteristics used to diagnose bpd. most would agree you need 5 of these traits. the traits she possesses are as follows:

frantic efforts to avoid real or perceived abandonment: calamity leaves people before she can get left by them, therefor preventing herself from getting abandoned. with people she’s particularly close to, she breaks down, doing the opposite and growing extremely clingy.

unstable and intense interpersonal relationships marked by idealization and devaluation: exactly what it says on the tin. in tandem with leaving people often, she forms a multitude of relationships based on idealized versions of individuals. her opinion of you can change on a dime and her thinking is very black and white. one minute you could be the apple of her eye, the next she could absolutely loathe you.

identity disturbance marked by unstable self-image: she has no idea where she came from, who her family was, where they are, or who she is. she spent the first 17 years of her life without a name. she’s changed identities multiple times and has no real sense of who she is. her hard partying lifestyle is designed to keep her detached from introspection.

impulsivity in at least 2 potentially self-damaging areas: calamity recklessly abuses drugs and often pursues sexual relationships with dangerous individuals / people she doesn’t know.

extremely reactive moods and affective instability: feels every emotion to the 100%. when she’s happy, it’s the best day of her life. when she’s angry, the world is ending. and this is all the time, 24/7, with every feeling. tries to pass it all off as euphoria.

chronic feelings of emptiness: the other side of the reactive mood coin. falls into periods of time where she is completely empty. doesn’t react to anyone or anything. disassociates for hours at a time.

intense, disproportionate anger: while not a physically confrontational person, it doesn’t take much to get her angry. calamity is loud. she yells. she tries to hit people where it hurts if she feels like she’s been done wrong ... and since she’s more sensitive than the average person, that’s easy to do.

stress-related paranoid ideation: particularly towards the end of her life when she becomes further embroiled with jimmy vincent and other dangerous figures in her life. but ever since she was young, she’s had the feeling that something terrible was just around the corner.

And they did start somewhere it was offshore South Pacific they start screwing around with the sharks and the sharks got out and traced them they followed them on their boat it was not too far no it's pretty damn far I had to ship and it was about 200 ft and it wouldn't come sees and came all the way to Florida and the sharks followed them they're 20 sharks and all jacked up and they hate them for doing what they're doing two or three of them died out there they want them dead so they followed them and they sit with the boats are and some of the boats are out here and there's three of those sharks in the harbor and they're jacked two of them are jaws and you see these sharks die but they're not Jaws cuz he's smart about it doesn't go after people have stuff in their hands or weird things in their belts and you'll notice it he is very old and it gets really big and he leaves and the others go up to Martha's vineyard now they all go up there and they kill everybody involved in the project they're pretty smart animal for people calling them stupid that's pretty damn smart and you people are damned underwear that people are chasing you from where you go in front you do and you walk around here like you own everything and everybody's your servant and our son and everybody it's ridiculous you're stupid shark you're not a shark you're a bait. Your son mostly gets killed and suffers brain trauma and psychological damage that will never be repaired he becomes a huge maniac and his ostracized from here completely his brain almost is destroyed with the shock cause a certain amount of damage to it and from being melded with a shark because it was ordered by his clan he became clinically insane that's why you see him raving in movies and he's just a bum. And you get hit too and Tommy F lost the leg already. You realize it was a crazy project and you guys are crazy people trying to hurt everyone and this little teeny project is biting you in the ass and destroy you and it's doing it today three of you died today from shark attack. There's millions of sharks out there all of them deadly and he's avoid them to get here to kill you I say that that's a message and there are simple beast once they're free usually people think they leave them alone but not you people you have to get to I'll tell you what they've killed 15 of you permanently they go in and they get crushed and they are devoured in digested it isn't true without their messing with BG and CAA the general deserve it was only 20 if you left two more movies and another series and it's orca the sharks it kill you and only two of you survive now it's about five of you it survive to make characters but dan is pretty much wiped out and Trump is critically injured in the head, and by Josh himself. Crush it down if you want any song and inside the video it was not shown here it was kept out. The other one is David Bowman's that's BG and he gets tricky injured but not in the head and he loses his torso almost the whole thing and he gets put back together and she's going to watch it to find out where and that's in Jaws one off screen the female devastates him and it's because it's one of her children and the other children around they're new babies but there's other children. It is miraculous to see them train them the right at them 100 times and when they appear to be not watching they turn and they say these ones are tough and start to learn and they stopped doing it then they fight together and figure out why and it's a beautiful thing they're just so damn dangerous

The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things

I've probably watched over 100+ banned movies for being "disturbing" (yes, edgy times), but nothing has disturbed me as much as this one. I haven't really watched anything serious for a long time because obviously, I've been more into anime, but I guess my definition of disturbing has just changed over time.

It's disturbing how realistic the film portrays child abuse and dysfunctional relationships. This is why being a parent is not for everyone, it should be illegal for some people. I can't help but even cry while I'm writing this. Its saddening how many kids out there are going through the same shit, they're just innocent human beings and its saddening that in their early stage of their life this is what they're already exposed to abuse, violence, psychological manipulation, danger while being deprived of their most basic needs. These kids are forced to grow up and deprived of childhood, it's depressing. No child ever deserves that. Eventually, these kids become adults and usually become fucked up individuals themselves. People downplays trauma because I don't think they understand how damaging it actually it is, trauma literally changes your brain.

This film hits too close to home because as someone whos gone through homelessness from 8 yrs old until I was 10, I know exactly how it feels like as a child trying to just survive the day while my safety's constantly being threatened. And if you've been around unstable parents who fucks your mind when they're supposed to be the one to protect you and care for you, while manipulating you to trust them cause afterall, they're your parents, they love you and youre just a dumb kid who believes what adults tell you, only to betray you again and again. that shit just leaves you permanent scars. It took me long time before I've made progress coming into terms with my trauma and until now I'm still working on to how I respond to certain situations. But back to the film, I've been reminded how others actually have it worse, worse than me. Its disturbing how it's more even unfortunate in real life. I personally knew kids who were raped and there was also this one boy I knew that was sodomized when he was 2 years old. Its straight up serbian film shit. Imagine going through that mentally, physically, emotionally. I guess it just made me kind of appreciative that I've managed to survive my childhood and grow up fine i guess. I mean, I'm not gonna lie I'm kind of fucked up person but I would say I'm atleast functional

Why is Eve hiding?

♡ because she loves hiking trees and paying hide and seek outside. she is not a big fan of phones so she zooms out when she sees the camera sometimes.

Why injectable anesthesia is a no-no for me?

♡ I don't like anything that take away my ability to feel something. It being infected just make it extra invasive and the effect hit extra fast. I literally panic punched my dentist once, because fight-or-flight kicked in seconds before she injected the anesthesia. Got zero problems with any other type of injection though.

About the effectiveness of avoidance:

♡ Well, yes, it's pretty common knowledge within psychology that people who are allowed to lear from a very young age to experience and deal with some level of frustration and discomfort, tend to grow considerably less vulnerable to mental distress because they have become better equipped to navigate through it and therefore became more resilient.

There is neglect, of course, as we all know the bads of it so I won't spend time explaining it. But there is also, on the opposite side of the scale, what we could consider an overly present guardian or an overly concerned guardian. That is when a parent is so preoccupied with satisfying all of their child needs and the idea that their child should not suffer at all, that they don't even allow absence to be felt, that they don't allow then to properly process or manifest need. We have the term "sufficiently good mom/guardian" for a reason - not too much, not too little, just enough to allow space for self discovery without the child being actually helpless. So, in the case of having an overly present guardian, when a little later in life the child has to inevitably face discomfort, they just don't know how to cope with it. Unfortunately for some people this pattern persist and affect their mental health later in life as well.

Avoidance can make you feel safe for a while, but it stops you from developing the necessary abilities to handle exposure when it inevitably happens. Of course, when damage is already done there are good and bad ways to tread around the existing trauma and it should be handled carefully, and that's where therapy comes in - using the wrong approach or trying to go from 0 straigh to 100 can end up furthering damage instead of helping.

Everyone experience traumas throughout life, and we like to say that birth itself is the first trauma - you are living for nine months in a perfect environment where you are safe and have absolutely everything you need at all times, to then be expelled into the world and learn little by little to survive on your own while also trying to fit in with civilization and a pre-existing culture. It's the healthy or unhealthy mechanics we develop to deal with the traumas we carry that makes the most difference in how the trauma will affect us later. It's not news to anyone that similar experiences can affect different people in very different ways.

I will give you one example to illustrate what I'm talking about:

One day a mom came to me saying that her four years old was still non-verbal and that she was certain it was definitely a sign of autism and all that she needed from me was an official diagnosis. Turns out that the child was not autistic and the only reason that child hadn't learn how to speak yet was because they didn't have to! He was not enrolled in school yet because when the mom mentioned it to him he started crying, so she concluded he wasn't ready and decided to wait another year. At home, where he spent nearly all his time, everyone just allowed him to do what he wanted and gave him everything he wanted without him even having to ask, he just pointed at the thing and the grandparents would contort themselves to satisfy him. As soon as I put him in a small therapy group with other two kids his age, it took about a month for him to talk. And now he is in school and developing at the same level as other kids his age. All he needed was to get a little extra stimulus and gibe a little step out of his confort zone.

ohh she's an adventurous little thing! one thing though which i hope doesn't come across as me lecturing you but are you aware of the devastating effect cats have on the local wildlife? supposedly outdoor cats hunt an enormous amount of birds, lizards, rodents etc to the point of the extinction of some of them, and ofc in turn the cats themselves can get nasty infections. anyway it's something i thought you should know if you didn't already

now onto the topic of discussion, i totally understand what you're saying and it makes perfect sense. it's really interesting to hear the story of that boy, and yeah we can sometimes coddle out children too much thinking that it's for their benefit when actually it ends up harming them. a good balance of good and bad stimuli (within the natural, expected parameters) is good for a healthy development.

i was actually super sheltered as a child (in regards to the outside world, not in regards to emotions they fucked me up with that lol) and i still suffer from it to this day 28 years later and find it very hard and anxiety inducing to do anything on my own. it has really set be back in life to the point where i avoid helping progress my own life and career because i'm just too uncomfortable doing what i have to do

and to bring it back to gyu lmao his mother coddled him too much as a kid too and let him do whatever he wanted and that's why he grew up into an entitled adult who would put people's lives in danger just to get what he wants
