Imagine 20: Snow Day

Imagine your F/O waking you up with excited but hushed words until you groan and roll over. "What is it?" You asked, barely able to keep your eyes open.

"Look outside!"

With a groggy grumble, you rolled over and looked out the window to see large flakes of pristine white snow falling onto the houses and roads below, leaving a blanket of fluffy and cold fun for anyone who dared to step foot outside that day.

It took you a moment to wake up enough to realize what the big deal was before you shared a grin with your F/O and scrambled out of bed.

The rest of the day was spent taking walks in the snow, having snowball fights, and making snowmen. You may have looked a bit odd, being adults playing in the snow, but neither of you cared.

You were just happy to be spending this moment together.

I'm obssessed with this question: "Imagine your favourite historical figure meeting your other favourite historical figure."

If we take my favourite historical figures as Captain Marryat and Paul Gavarni, not only were they more or less contemporary with each other, but they had many opportunities to meet. As far as I know they never encountered each other, but Marryat was often in Paris in the 1830s (his wife and children were living there occasionally), and Gavarni spent years in Britain in the 1840s. They even had a mutual acquaintance in Alfred d'Orsay!

Gavarni seems to have made mostly positive impressions on people who met him, and even if he could be socially avoidant (and he blew off Queen Victoria and Prince Albert), he didn't rack up an enemies list like Marryat. Captain Marryat could probably start a fight with his own reflection in a mirror like one of those territorial birds. Gavarni is Marryat's type—beautiful curly hair, handsome, well-dressed—but I think Marryat would definitely be jealous of him.

You start your life as a farmer and the first person to greet you after Mayor Meritt is your F/O. They practically do a double take when they see you.

The two of you then spend time working the farm together, solving puzzles and fighting Jumbles. Your F/O even taught you how to use your wings when you finally got them!

Maybe they don't even work on the farm, they just popped over to help you out and stuck around.
