While not as celebratory as October (MY B-DAY MONTH!) and not yet as festive as December, November is a month that’s always full of promises to me. It’s the month when I usually swear to myself I'll get everything done, so I can try to relax when it's Christmas time. While my productivity levels aren't as consistent as I'd like them to be, my will to be productive certainly is. I'm definitely a list kind of girl, loving making them just as much as I enjoy reading them in magazines and on archive blogs from the 2010s (classygirlswearpearls and rookie magazine, I’m looking at you guys). So what better way to start the month and try to get myself together than by writing a big ole' list? My November Guideline:

To be inspired

On TV: Spencer Hastings, Blair Waldorf, Tanner Hall

I may have only watched a season and a half of Pretty Little Liars, but that absolutely doesn't stop me from loving and pinning essentially every single outfit ever worn by Spencer Hastings on television, EVER. I love the way it's simultaneously classic and dated. I've never been one to fear a dated style or outfits that might one day make me sigh and go, "Oh my God, that was so ten years ago for me." I guess that's my way of contributing to history and experimenting with the millions of inspirations I'm constantly bombarded with via social media. I specifically love this aspect of her style, how she wears what she wants, what she loves, but always communicates a deep appreciation for a more traditional way of dressing.

A lot of the same things can be said about Blair. Again, a character from a TV series I haven't watched all the way through (I can't make it past the first few episodes of season 3, sorry!), who was a pillar of preppiness back in the day, and is still wildly beloved, despite having committed a few fashion faux pas in my opinion. The craziness of it all and even the grandma-ness of it all actually fascinate me about Blair's wardrobe. How she constantly projects a vision of who she needs to be. Spencer does the same, obviously, but with Blair, it's almost like she viewed every day of her life, every problem she needed to face, as a new plotline of an old movie that needed to unravel. For each plotline, she reacted as a different heroine would, and each heroine, naturally, expressed herself differently through fashion. I just love these characters she creates for herself, and I feel like I often have the same instinct to curate an outfit like that when getting ready.

Tanner Hall, directed by Diane von Fürstenberg's daughter, Tatiana, is in the same aesthetic line as the previous mentions. The movie is set in a quintessential New England boarding school, where beiges, browns, and muted greens seem to be the only existent colors. The whole wardrobe is gorgeous, designed by DVF, and the holy grail for all those who are obsessed with an old-time preppiness. While the movie's plot may be flawed, its attempt to portray the delicious whimsy and melancholy of a girlhood that tries to expand inside the claustrophobic gates of the school is genuine and comes from what, to me, is a mixture of personal history and folklorized memories. I really like the softness of it all; you can almost smell the crisp apple scent through the screen.

I can't really explain my current fixation on Emma Watson, but I have the feeling it has something to do with the fact I've been looping her Burberry campaigns practically every day. The songs are so reminiscent of a carefree city life, going on long taxi drives in the rain and putting your hands over the steam of your coffee on a cold day in the park with your friend, wet fall leaves on the cement sidewalk. I used to admire Emma Watson a lot when I was younger, and it's nice to rediscover this fondness for her. And let's be honest, she is definitely one of the founders of the gamine community; all I have, I owe to her!

Now, my current admiration for @silly_lettuce on Instagram is totally aesthetic, and I'm not afraid to say it. Gorgeous girl, gorgeous outfits, what's not to love. I could go on and on about her style in general, the silhouettes she wears, the boots, the knee-high socks, but instead, I'll just urge you to check out her page! So timeless, yet so young, fun, fresh, and COOL!!!!

Eva Meloche is a YouTuber I've been watching for as long as I can remember, and not only do I adore the calm energy all of her videos exude, but I also really love her travel stories and spot recommendations in general, which always come in handy. Oh, and, of course, she has impeccable taste. Even though her style is different from mine, I guess I use her content as a way to explore.

To wear

I think it's totally healthy to have an everlasting lust for new clothes and new products. Maybe it's because the holiday energy is already lingering in the air, or maybe it's because I'm fresh out of a father and daughter trip to Paris, but recently, I've been loving to revisit my old favorites. And by old, I mean back-when-I-was-twelve old, which includes:

Red Valentino patterned A-line dresses

Ok, I know they may be a bit too young, but if you get it, you get it, I guess. With some ballerinas or Mary Jane pumps, a cute overcoat, and a nice pair of sunglasses, you'll look positively '60s. Honestly, any A-line dress works, but RED V makes me remember my trips with my grandparents and going shopping with them.

The Cardi-blazer

So basic, I know, but I cannot stop thinking about the Ba&Sh Gaspard cardigan and Guspard blazer. I just love how it elevates a basic outfit. With a pair of jeans and a trench coat over it, it has infinite potential. I can definitely see myself wearing it to a lunch with friends, for some afternoon shopping, or just for a coffee run. I love the Ba&Sh cardi-blazers, specifically because of how cool they look without ever being an "in-your-face" type of item. The buttons are nice and discreet, and the style is put together but not excessively frumpy.

Flap Brogue

Maybe it's the Miu Miu enthusiast in me, but ever since they released the new collection of shoes with Church's (my dad's fave), I've been loving all outfits that include a pair of brogues. I already had a pair of light brown oxfords (which are my one true love), but I really wanted something in black and thought that a pair of flap brogues would be a nice addition. They're perfect to wear with sheer hosiery, a mini jean skirt, and a cozy black sweater to tie it all together.

Statement sweater

Talking about sweaters... I just have so many cool statement ones living in my brain recently; it's a bit concerning. What's better than wearing a huge sweater that screams "look at me" when going out with friends or having a nice dinner party? I've been specifically lusting over two models: the Kritzia glittery, oversized turtlenecks with animal motifs and the Zadig and Voltaire Alma "rock and roll" red one.

Statement everyday shoes

It's so 2016 to talk about Golden Gooses, but... I just love them. I happened to buy them after quite a bit of time resisting after I found myself with soaked ballerinas after a violent rainstorm, soon-to-be late to my lunch reservation. The Golden Goose store was my knight in shining armor, literally, offering me shelter and shoes. And maybe it was the desperation, maybe it was the pink sparkly star, but all I know was that I left that store in a glittery haze, enamored by the sneakers I'd just impulsively bought. No regrets!

I am not surprised the Gossip Girl Reboot got cancelled because it was boring and I couldn’t finish season 1. I think the creators thought having that property would be enough for the show to be successful and focused all of their energy on those outfits and soundtracks but did nothing for the show to actually work. My opinion on why the reboot failed to impact audiences that no one asked for:

It’s not like the original GG was a writing masterpiece but it came out at the right time. In 2007, while there were a lot of successful shows, a lot of the teen shows like The OC, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls etc were tame in comparation to the format GG was presenting. Aside from the UK (Skins), it was unusual for American TV to exploit sex and drugs on teens the way Gossip Girl did. They turned the negative reviews into promotional banners. That was A+ marketing. They wanted to be problematic. That was their selling point. So in theory, the idea of a group of wealthy teens from NYC doing all sort of awful stuff was appealing. The show wasn’t trying to be apologetic. Yeah, some issues were too much not just Chuck but so many other things but the point stands with the show not wanting to fix it. This with a really good fashion sense — GG really pushed the boundaries on fashion during late 2000’s. It was meant to be a hit ahead of its time. The problem with the reboot is that is not new or original. Euphoria already exists. Teens doing alcohol and sleeping around has been in media for a while and people crave something new. If they wanted to stand out they need so much more than just a known intellectual property but most importantly create characters with personality and sadly, that wasn’t the case.

The characters for the reboot lack distinctive personalities and it was difficult to buy why they were even friends. Like, the group on the OG worked because there was an established dynamic but every character in the new one felt like a parody. The initial conflict was them being mad Julien had a sister. For the OG, the initial conflict worked because at first Serena presented herself as a mystery – as the IT girl that ran away and no one knew why. That increased her mysterious persona and her popularity. She ran away because she slept with Nate (Blair’s boyfriend) and while she was away Blair managed to establish herself as the IT girl. That made the rivalry between Blair and Serena more believable and so Serena's dynamic with Nate. Blair had reasons to feel insecure over Serena because she had the influence and wealth to out power her. They tried to recreate that with Zoya and Julien but failed miserably.

I think every character in the OG group had a very established dynamic and propose. Serena was the mysterious girl that created the rivalry with Blair and also presented herself as a bridge outside of the Upper East Side because of her relationship with Dan. Blair was the "mean girl" — the one ready to create chaos if she feels like she is being displaced from her status. Julien never gave me that energy. Neither did Audrey. None of them were able to go the lengths Blair would go for a little drama. The closest thing to Blair they had was Monet and they didn’t give her enough to shine but that’s also the thing. Teen media keeps trying to recreate their very own version of Blair Waldorf but fails everytime. Every teen show after GG now has their sophisticated "mean girl" that is able to quote books and movies (aka Veronica Lodge or Cheryl Blossom) and it fails every single time. Blair worked because of what Leighton Meester brought to the table but also because Blair was actually really mean and unapologetic about it. She wasn't meant to be taken as a parody with some mean one liners. Her only characteristic wasn’t just being mean, it had realistic layers. And even when I feel she became a bit of a parody the later seasons because the show not longer needed her to be mean, I think she remained charming mostly because of Meester.

Serena worked on early seasons then she became unnecessary and boring. Her character only worked because of Blake Lively's charisma which I feel a lot of the new ones lacked. Then there was Nate. He was like, just there. He wasn’t that problematic until that season they made him date a minor for zero reason. I would assume GGRBs version of Nate was Obie (?) and that was such a boring character. Now, Dan was a good character until they needed to use him as a plot twist because they didn't know who GG was and needed a finale. Dan was the one that was inside the elite but hated it and brought interesting points about their privilege and had not problem in checking them once in a while because he was like the impartial one. Again, they tried to make Zoya the one that wasn’t in their circle but her character was just boring, the actress did good with the material.

And Chuck, he was introduced as a rapist from the get go and didn’t deserve to get as far as it got or even a "redemption". Blair deserved better and I will never go down with the Chuck and Blair train. Blair coming back to him on season 6 after learning her own value and worth outside of Chuck's shadow and toxicity only to make her regret it was character assassination. Chuck should’ve died on Season 4. Now, here's the thing. It was clear Max was supposed to be their unproblematic version of Chuck and it's a shame because Thomas Doherty was giving THE perfomance. I wish him luck in his career. Also, Savannah Smith as Monet did good when given good dialogue and stuff to deliver.

Jenny was an interesting character. It gave the show the outside drama it needed. Georgina was an amazing villain. Even Rufus and Lily served. GGRB had potential but didn't give anything interesting. OG GG embraced being problematic and the reboot tried too hard to be "woke". There's nothing woke about a group of wealthy kids (and not just any money but generational wealth for some of them) that don't need to worry about paying the bills. Maybe if they didn't take themselves so seriously it would've worked a lot better. They should've allowed Monet to be the mean girl she was clearly destined to be. Luna also deserved her own plot not just a sidekick.

Lastly, their biggest problem: GG being the teachers. The teachers story line made me cringe. It was so weird and unrealistic. The thing about GG is that it could be anyone. It was the anonymity that made it fun. GGRB fumble by giving GG a face and an underwhelming one too. In conclusion, while I loved the diversity of the new cast, none of them had the charisma on screen except for one or two on occasions and charisma is what carried the original series until a season 6.

Classic PA Fashion Archetype: The Preppy School Girl

Thus begins the post spam!

The Preppy School Girl is the style that was ingrained in me by The Ashleys of Recess, and is inspired by the matching sets of Clueless, and every movie with a fun twist on a school uniform. To me, this is the Academia Standard from our Dark and Light siblings, but this time through a rose-tinted lense!

I've exhausted this look on this blog in a matter of months, and yet I'll never tire of it. The inspirations are every teen movie I'll watch on repeat until I perish. Its school uniform chic with a fun twist!

Tops: blouses- pink, white, pussycat bow, black, pearl collrs, lace collars, puffy sleeves. Overlayers: jumper/sweaters, sweater vests, blazers- structured, masculine, patterned, matching a suit bottom-cardigans, university/college sweatshirts Bottoms: plaid miniskirt, plaid trousers Dresses: pinafore style, checked, structured office-style Patterns: argyle, check, plaid, houndstooth Accesories: pearls, tights/pantyhose or stockings, headbands (live the Blair Waldorf fantasy), ties, bows

The key is colour co-ordination so that you really sell the uniform vibe. Inspiration here is the matching sets from Clueless, Poppy's take on the Abbey Mount uniform in Wild Child, or whatever the dress code was in St Trinnians.

Example outfit using Abbey Mount as reference

White blouse under grey jumper with grey blazer, blue-and-grey striped tie, blue-and-grey plaid skirt, grey tights, black shoes.

You can trade out any colours you like, and choose your overlayers according to taste. All the details are up to you, but this is a standard formula.

I know this is something a lot of you probably know, but it's good to go back to basics- and this is just the first of many posts today!

FASHION AND FILM CROSS PATHS IN NANA

Anime has always been a dominating factor in the fashion industry due to its influence on its audience and cult following. On-screen cinema has inspired an array of people to dress similar or spot on to famous characters such as Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf from Gossip girl. These outfits and characters also transpire into having a lasting effect in cinema i.e. the Academy Award nominated film The Devil Wears Prada. Because these shows and movies have such a large cult following due to their aesthetic and nostalgic attachments, individuals bond themselves to the cinematic art these on-screen displays portray. NANA is the story of Nana Komatsu and Nana Osaki. They first meet on a train to Tokyo and discover that they are the same age.

Both Nana’s have different styles. Nana Komatsu (pictured left) goes by Hatchi and Nana Osaki (pictured right). Hatchi and Nana both have different aesthetics, Nana dresses with a punk rock whilst Hatchi dresses in very girly-esq outfits. They both have different aspirations; Hatchi moves to Tokyo to be with her boyfriend Shoji, and Nana moves to become a famous punk singer.

In NANA, Vivienne Westwood is referenced in almost every episode. You can see almost all of the characters wearing something by the designer, even if it is as small as a pair of earrings.

NANA has had a huge impact on fashion, especially through its resurrection on social media apps i.e. TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram. In summer 2020, because of TikTok, Vivienne Westwood’s pearl choker with her crystal orb logo gained massive popularity, being seen on celebrities and influencers alike. The necklace is detailed as a single strand with pearls and a Westwood orb falling in the middle of the necklace. There is also a three strand version of the necklace. Both these necklaces were featured in NANA. Now, because of its resurrection, it is seen as the It-Girl accessory of 2021 thanks to its popularity on TikTok.

NANA has truly inspired a lot of people, knowingly or not, to buy many of the exact pieces featured in the show. Because of its affluence and hype, some of these iconic pieces are reselling on the second hand market for astronomically high price points.

With the boom of Westwood’s influence on a newer generation, this makes it somewhat harder to get some iconic pieces due to Nana’s popularity. Because of this, it has caused a lot of fakes to be created via Aliexpress, Dhgate, and eBay to be sold on various reselling apps i.e. Grailed, Heroine and Depop. As a result, it sometimes gets harder to identify the real and authentic piece especially if someone is buying into the brand because of NANA and its symbolic influence it has on the buyer or watcher. It takes away from the brand because it’s turning an iconic brand like Westwood into fast fashion because of the mass produced pieces. In no way is this Westwood’s fault because she supplied products that rose in popularity due to anime, social media and seeing people wearing these pieces. However, if Westwood was to lower her prices and start to mass produce her items, it would take away from the brand’s exclusivity and message. An example of this would be House Of Sunny where they rose to fame due to their infamous David Hockney inspired dress. House of Sunny based themselves upon sustainability and spaced out drops however when the dress started to get popular they started to mass produce items. This also affected the quality of their garments and their dress was now being replicated on AliExpress. Westwood’s jewelry is costume jewelry, so they’re not made out of pearls, diamonds or precious metals. It’s up to you if you want to spend £120 on a MINI BAS RELIEF CHOKER via the official Vivienne Westwood site.

Westwood’s influence on fashion has inspired a generation of young creatives. However, her influence on NANA truly changed the way people correlate animated TV shows into real life outfit and lifestyle inspiration.

as a divorcee, elizabeth wasn’t looking for love. she was simply looking to carry out this interview & return home to new york to her infant son. however, as the week went on & as tayn showed her his humble beginnings that were the motivation behind his new release, she was falling in love. so, when the cameras were tucked away & it was time for elizabeth to catch her flight back to new york, tayn asked if she could delay her flight by another day or two so he could take her out on a proper date. when she eventually returned home to new york, she knew that wasn’t going to be the last time she saw tayn & she made sure of it.

eventually, the two got into a relationship. it was incredibly difficult to have a relationship on opposite ends of the world, but they made it work. they would often fly to see each other & since elizabeth had a child, they would meet in the middle. after dating for less than a year, tayn eventually asked for her hand in marriage & the two were married shortly after in a small church wedding in his hometown. now that they were married, they knew they had to forego their long distance relationship for something more permanent. meaning, they both had to live in the same continent in order for this to work. all along she felt as if new zealand was far too small for her big city mindset. tayn never wanted to leave his family behind, but he knew in order for his marriage to work he had to compromise. elizabeth wanted them to create a live for themselves in new york, but tayn wasn’t ready for a move that drastic. so, they decided to move to sydney where they would welcome three children of their own.

since elizabeth moved to the other side of the world to be with the man she loved, she had no other option but to leave her prestigious job in new york. as her husband continued his career & relished in his deserved stardom, she was at a lost. she wanted to be more than just a mother or tayn henare’s wife. she wanted to make something of herself. & she saw moving to a new country as an opportunity to truly venture out of her comfort zone & start something new. so the former journalist who’s name was once floated around to become anchor one day decided to venture into right wing news, a hotbed of misinformation & conspiracy theories.

what started out as taking over a small newspaper company on the rink of bankruptcy eventually turned into a multibillion dollar conglomerate. within the course of just two years, she acquired hundreds of newspapers in australia. & as the rise of cable news dominated networks, she decided to create her own news network. it didn’t take long for elizabeth to make her first fortune & relish in the fame & fortune that came along with it. however, she knew that if she wanted right news media to be really successful, she would have to venture into other continents. of course, such a drastic business move would require moving her entire family. however, tayn decided that it would be in their children’s best interest to stay put in sydney while his wife looked to expand her media company in the united kingdom.

it wasn’t until her company received unparalled success in america that they decided to split their time between new york & sydney. everywhere elizabeth went, she did the same things that led to her widespread success in australia which were buy out newspapers & tv broadcasting channels. with the launch of right news network in america, elizabeth carlson became one of the most well known names in the world. she ensured that the on air politics were relatively tame to start out, but it wasn’t long before the anchors were peddling dangerous rhetoric. nowadays, right news network is home to flagrant misinformation & manipulation to its uneducated viewers.

aside from being associated with right wing news & harmful stereotypes, right wing media is also home to several production & publishing companies along with movie studios & theme parks across the world. it goes without saying that elizabeth is good at her job. otherwise she wouldn’t have been the first female ceo of a media company & television networks. however, that does not negate how dangerous her role is in politics. multiple presidents have even gone as far as to refer to her as ‘ the most dangerous woman in the world. ’ her networks give a place for politicians to push their hateful rhetoric without any sort of pushback. it’s an echo chamber that breeds nothing but hate & divisiveness.

all their lives, kaia & her brothers have enjoyed the perks & well funded lifestyles courtesy of their mother’s success. private jets, butlers, chefs, yachts, & mansions all across the globe. if it weren’t for their mother heading a multi billion dollar operation, they wouldn’t be able to afford such luxuries. growing up, her brothers would mention their mother’s controversial reputation to kaia in passing. since all three of her brothers are all significantly older than her, they were acutely aware of their mother’s reputation, but it was never spoken about in great length.

it wasn’t until kaia was of school age & her classmates would make snide remarks about her mother. due to everyone’s young age, they were never capable of telling her that her mother’s politics is what further oppresses already marginalized groups. but they were able to point at her during recess & say something along the lines of ‘ my mommy says that your mommy is bad for the country. ’ as she got older, she became more & more aware of her mother’s business & reputation that accompanied it. it was hard to ignore her mother’s name being dropped by practically every late night talk show host as a punchline of a joke.

by the time she turned ten, kaia’s father filed for divorce. he tried to downplay the situation as best as he could to his children, but the real reasons became front page news when he decided to sit down for an interview. it was during this interview that tayn mentioned how he couldn’t stay married to someone who’s politics pushed white supremacist theories, which ultimately put him & his children at risk due to their maori background. after he walked out of the divorce with eight billion, he moved back to new zealand. no matter how he felt about his ex wife’s politics, he felt as if the children staying in her primary custody was in their best interest. he couldn’t expect them to abandon their lives in sydney & new york to live in new zealand.

as an evident daddy’s girl, this transition was incredibly difficult. it wasn’t that her mother didn’t love her or her brothers. it was that she had an unorthodox wife of showing it. she much preferred to wave a checkbook & have the nanny of the week look after them instead of sitting at the kitchen table to help them with math homework. it wasn’t until two of her brothers began working for her company that elizabeth showed a genuine interest in them. her affection was measured in how useful her children can be & how much money they can help make her.

& for the longest time, kaia planned on one day working for her mother in order to receive the same affection as her brothers. but as she became more aware of the network’s politics as she got older, she realized this wasn’t what she wanted. kaia knew that if she didn’t share the same dna as the ceo then they would be discriminating against her due to her dark features ; a stark contrast to her mother’s fair skin & blue eyes.

when all of her friends were applying to the most prestigious universities the world has to offer during her senior year of high school, kaia was at a standstill. she didn’t want to attend some cushy ivy league school only to work for a far right echo chamber for the rest of her life. the glitz & the glam weren’t worth it if it meant spewing rhetoric that endangered people’s lives. when she sat down with her mother to express how she didn’t want to go to college, nonetheless even apply, she was adamant that she had to have a plan. her eldest child was already enjoying the high life of a trust fund baby, but elizabeth knew kaia’s potential & refused to allow her to follow suit. as the owner of the new york post & the infamous page six, the last thing she wanted was to report on her only daughter galavanting around with no purpose in life.

so when one of her brothers mentioned that she might as well be an actress due to her flair for the dramatics in passing, kaia knew that’s what she wanted to do with her life. she grew up around a-list celebrities who would grovel at her mother’s size six louboutin heels for the chance of working for her film studio. in her eyes, the life of a celebrity wouldn’t be that hard. in many ways, she was already living that life. the only thing that was missing was starring on the big screen. when kaia finally told her parents her desire for wanting to pursue an acting career following her graduation from high school, they allowed it. of course, her mother pushed back at first. she didn’t want to keep on hiring nobody ivy league graduates to run her business, because she wanted it to be a family operation. her father, on the other hand, just wanted his youngest child to be happy. & if that meant being an actress, so be it. as much as her mother opposed the idea, she eventually gave in, but it came with conditions. all of her conditions were tied to her & the family reputation, but kaia was in no position to argue. the most important rule she established was that if kaia wanted to pursue a career in hollywood, she had to stay out of trouble & never speak poorly of the family business in interviews or even in passing. the last thing she needed was for news to get out of how much elizabeth carlson’s only daughter hated right news media & their role in global politics & the rise of right wing extremism.

following her graduation from high school, she was immediately placed in acting lessons. as someone who already liked to cry for attention, she was a natural. she made her acting debut by guest starring on a few shows, that were of course, on her mother’s many networks. television roles soon transitioned into supporting roles in movies, & as much as most of the world hated her family name, her on screen talent was undeniable. & if people wanted to hate her solely based off her mother’s conglomerate, they quickly scrambled for excuses once she began to get nominated ( & later win ) a series of awards for her performances.

like any young actress, kaia embraced her coveted a-list status with open arms. what she wasn’t expecting was how the media portrayed her following the movie’s widespread success. due to her role’s provocative nature, media outlets were likening her to her role. they went from seeing her as nothing but a billionaire nepotism baby to a sex symbol. practically every headline written about her mentioned her physique or relationship status. as much as she preferred to have her own headlines not mentioning her controversial family business, she hated how she was being portrayed. no one cared to know who she really was. all they saw her as was a piece of meat as opposed to an oscar award winning actress.

as she continued to book leading roles in blockbuster films, that were more often than not, the role of a young attractive new wife or a temptress complimenting a male action role, kaia & her pr team doubled down on her public image. in order to preserve her family’s seemingly pristine image, she never wore anything revealing out in public if it wasn’t for a role. this media strategy gave role to her infamous street wear typically consisting of flowy feminine dresses paired with designer heels. furthermore, the only times she was ever photographed with someone of the opposite sex out in public was when she was in a well documented committed relationship. & whenever interviewers would try & ask her provocative questions, she would simply change the topic by talking about the movie.

no matter how hard she tried, the media still went out of the way to make her out to be some provocateur out to steal everyone’s husband. & once the news broke of her most recent relationship, they ran as fast as they could to be the first to break the story. while filming her newest movie that is just wrapping up production, news broke that kaia was dating her male costar who was in a well known relationship. she doesn’t know who leaked the story, but every single headline printed about their relationship referred to her as a home wrecker.

little did anyone know, her ex boyfriend wasn’t in a legitimate relationship during the time they were together. he was in a pr relationship, but of course no one knew about that other than close friends. & when pictures leaked of the two of them kissing following months of speculation of the two being cozy on set, they were forced to breakup. & their breakup only fueled negative headlines about kaia, blaming her for the relationship’s unfortunate demise.

& to add insult to injury, her mother’s publications were publishing those same headlines despite her sitting down with her to explain the true story. her mother’s betrayal proved that she didn’t care about protecting her daughter. at the end of the day, all she cared about was increasing her profits even if it meant humiliating kaia.

at first, kaia considered disappearing out of the public spotlight all together until the scandal was replaced by the next. however, she saw this as an opportunity to forego everything her mother & her media team worked for. she no longer wants the media or the public to continue to see her as someone she’s not. if the world wants to continue to view her as a husband stealer, temptress, & everything else in between, then that’s exactly who she’ll be. she wants to show the world who she actually is & she plans on doing that this summer in hilton hills.

as the youngest of four, she’s used to getting whatever she wants. she can count on a perfectly manicured hand the amount of times someone has ever told her no. & in kaia’s eyes, it’s either her way or the highway. depending on the situation & who she finds herself with at the time, she goes through great lengths just to ensure everything works out in her favor. for example, when she’s with her father or anyone of her brothers, all she has to do is pout her lips & say please until they acquiesce & give her what she wants. when she’s with her friends or a significant other, she’ll act polite at first. & if that doesn’t work, she’ll quickly result to manipulation.

in interviews, she is always smiling & joking with her costars. while kaia is nice in real life, she also has formidable ice queen tendencies. she turns her mean side on as if it’s second nature, which in her case, it is. due to her complex relationship with her family, she often comes across as poised yet distant. she’s always afraid to open up in fear that she’ll get burned in the end. but her sweet side is almost always on display when she’s with her father.

when she’s in the company of her friends, she’s her true self. she’s kind, but not sickly sweet. she’s easy to get along with just as long as you don’t say the wrong thing or look at her weird. & if you ever do something to get on her bad side, she won’t stop until they are metaphorically ( or literally ) destroyed.

kaia has been in her fair share of relationships, but due to her family trauma that has sunk deep in her core, she is incapable of truly expressing herself. more often than not, confessions of love make her feel uncomfortable. she has never said i love you to any romantic partner & she doesn’t know if she’s capable of feeling such emotions.

speaking of strong emotions, she never knows how to react when anyone cries in front of her. sometimes she laughs or just sits there awkwardly, but having grown up in an environment where emotions were frowned upon, she may as well be a robot in certain situations.

she’s super well spoken despite having never received any formal education. she is constantly throwing big words around, even if no one she’s having a conversation with understands her.

she’s currently undergoing a vixen esque transformation in order to transform into the kind of person the world believes she is. as a result, you’ll often see her baring more skin than usual, wearing red lipstick to draw attention to her lips, & flirting with people who she deems worthy.

has severe abandonment issues stemming from her parents’ divorce, but those issues take place in the form of commitment issues whenever she is in a relationship

speaking of her mother, if you’ve ever seen succession she is without a doubt of hybrid of both logan & caroline. in other words, she’s a mess LKSDF she didn’t adopt logan’s physically abusive ways, but she was definitely mentally & verbally abusive every now & then. however, she adopted practically everything from caroline, especially her passive aggressiveness & lack of desire of becoming a mother in the first place.

if your muse’s parents are in politics, chances are they know her mother. depending on where they fall on the political aisle, they either worship the ground she walks on or detests her. & there really is no in between. so if your muse comes from a long line of conservative politicians, it’s more likely than not they often meet with her mother to beg for her endorsement. every single high profile conservative politician comes crawling her way for the chance of receiving her endorsement.

kaia isn’t one to shy away from any illicit substances. she never goes overboard & typically only does drugs in social settings, but she does drink a fair amount. it will be hard to see her in hilton hills this summer without one of her hands being wrapped around a crystal wine glass.

Favorite book is so hard for me to choose bc I'm an easily impressed person but i have things in mind. Harry Potter! (duh) The first time I read the books I was in third grade and it's been ten years that I've made it a prominent part of my personality hehehe. Kite Runner! If you haven't read it, what are even waiting for??? It was absolutely heartbreaking, soul healing, harrowing and wholesome book. I can't emphasize my love for it enough. I don't think I'll ever get over it. A good girl's guide to murder! I adore this book and have a deep connection with it that I won't elaborate at the moment for the sake your mental health

Favorite movie. I have to warn you I'm not a movie girlie so I may disappoint you. I love Harry Potter movies as much as I love the books, but I have a vast admiration for Inception. I loved how I felt like solving a puzzle the first time watching it, and the cinematography was perfect. Dead Poets Society... I will never and I mean never love any movie more than DPS. Neil is me and I am him.
