Close my eyes and feel my chest beating like thunder
This is the first part of a one-shot! You can the whole piece one AO3
Julie closes her eyes in the middle of her line, and Luke watches from the auditorium seats. It’s the Nunnery scene, and Ophelia is speaking in the moments between Hamlet’s (Luke’s) exit and King Claudius’s (Alex) and Polonius’s (Bobby’s) reentry. Julie is auditioning, though most of the parts were cast last week. Mrs. Harrison, high school English teacher and volunteer community theater director, was hellbent on finding the perfect Ophelia, and finally, Carrie (Queen Gertrude) convinced her on-again-off-again friend Julie to audition for the part. She promised Mrs. Harrison that Julie is amazing, and Luke didn’t miss the jealous roll of Carrie’s eyes as the words left her mouth. Luke is pretty sure Carrie wouldn’t have brought up Julie at all if Ophelia didn’t die before Queen Gertrude.
Based on the sparkle currently present in Mrs. Harrison’s eye, Julie has the part. At least, Luke hopes this is true. He’s never seen Julie so confident before, and she killed the small monologue. He can’t wait to see how she handles Act IV Scene V.
Luke doesn’t know Julie Molina that well. He knows she’s friendly with Alex, his bandmate in Sunset Curve — or as Julie constantly miscalls them, Sunset Swerve — and that Reggie, one of his other bandmates, has a ginormous crush on Carrie. And they get thrown together every so often, only being a year apart at the local liberal arts college, but every time it’s almost just the two of them — Alex hurrying away from the conversation to meet his boyfriend or Reggie and Flynn sneaking off to pull a prank that Julie would disapprove of — Julie finds an excuse to leave. He thought for a while that she might hate him, but Alex says she just takes time to warm up to new people. Reggies says she’s just skittish. Bobby, the final member of Sunset Curve, thinks she’s just weird. Lately, Luke tends to take Bobby’s sullen opinions with a grain of salt.
Mrs. Harrison starts clapping as Julie finishes with, “To have seen what I have seen, see what I see!”
Luke, Alex, and Reggie — Guildenstern — clap along with her, while Carrie files her nails, Bobby slouches in his seat, Nick — Laertes — looks to be half-asleep — and Flynn — Rosencrantz, costume designer, and Julie’s best friend — just sits with her head in her hands and an amazed smile on her face. Once Flynn realizes the scene is over and she can stop fawning, she lets out a few loud cries of admiration.
“While I’m sure the part is yours, I’d like to try you out opposite Luke to see your chemistry. Have you read over act three scene two?” Mrs. Harrison asks.
Luke would call her Marci — her first name, and what everyone else calls her — but he grew up in the area and had her for tenth grade English. She’ll always be Mrs. Harrison to him. She’s the one who got him into community theater during high school, and he’s been participating on and off ever since.
He met Reggie and Alex in college, but he’s known Bobby since they were kids running around with blow-up guitars that were supposed to be pool floaties.
Alex met Carrie a little under a year ago, towards the end of last year, their junior year of college; she was a freshman and had just started dating Nick, a fellow freshman, and was rooming with Julie and Flynn, also fellow freshmen. Carrie latched on to the community theater right away, bringing Nick and Flynn along with her. This is the first time Luke has seen Julie anywhere near his old high school’s auditorium.
“Yes,” Julie answers in the quiet voice he has come to associate with her.
Luke is fascinated with how immediately the confidence fell away.
“Luke?” Mrs. Harrison gestures to the stage.
Luke grabs his copy of the script, jogs up to the stage, and jumps up instead of taking the stage, energy already taking over his body. He smiles at Julie, but she just stares at the floor, her booklet already turned to the correct scene.
“Julie,” Mrs. Harrison starts, “can you grab that chair from upstage? I’d like to see you two act it out physically as well.”
Julie looks behind her, walks to the chair, and drags it back to where Luke is standing. The chair squeaks against the stage floor that Julie can’t seem to look up from. She sits, eyes still downcast.
“We’ll take it from ‘Come hither, my dear Hamlet’ and end with, ‘Nay, ‘tis twice two months.’”
Luke nods. He sees Julie do the same, and moves to stand above her. She’s seated so her side is to the audience, this way Luke will never have to have his back to them.
Mrs. Harrison reads, “Come hither, my dear Hamlet, sit by me.”
“No, good mother,” Luke says to the audience before turning to Julie, “here’s metal more attractive.”
Luke gets down on his knees before he begins the next line, and as he speaks, he lets himself fall further, towards Julie’s feet as he looks at her face, a sly smile on his face. He asks, “Lady, shall I lie in your lap?”
The change in Julie’s demeanor is instantaneous. She goes from looking at the floor just next to Luke’s face to actually looking at Luke’s face, and her features soften as her confidence grows.
“No, my lord,” she responds with an even measure of indifference and irritation in her tone.
“I mean, my head upon your lap?” Luke rectifies as he lifts his head once more, moving toward her thighs.
Julie looks away from him, facing straight in front of her, but a hand lightly moves his head away. “Ay, my lord,” she says.
Luke rises, steps behind her chair, grabs the back, and turns the chair so it is now facing the audience. He drops his mouth to sit next to her ear, and asks in more of a drawl, “Do you think I meant country matters?”
Julie’s back straightens, but her gaze does not waver from the air in front of her.
“I think nothing, my lord.” Her words become slightly more laced with irritation.
Luke crouches next to her, as there are no more chairs on the stage, and faces the same direction she is. He lets a smirk play on his lips as he says, “That’s a fair thought to lie between maid’s legs.”
Julie’s head drops to check her script, but she keeps her gaze there as she asks, “What is, my lord?”
“Nothing,” he says quickly, raising his chin, keeping the smirk plastered on his face.
He sees Julie turn to face him in his peripheral, and he moves quickly to meet her gaze. She is unfazed by how close their faces are, but he is almost mesmerized by the intensity shining in her eyes. He gulps, waiting for her line, heart beating so loudly he thinks she can hear it, but she holds his gaze a moment too long, making him uncomfortable. He thinks this is the goal, and so he counters it by letting his eyes slowly move down and up, taking in every detail of her body beneath her nearly-sheer, white, anklet-length, spring dress.
“You are merry, my lord,” she says slowly once his eyes come back to hers.
“Who,” he draws out, once again meeting her in tempo and emotion, “I?”
“Ay, my lord,” she returns.
She raises a brow before returning her stare to the audience.
“Oh, God, your only jig-maker,” Luke says, still smiling, but then lets the smile fall. He looks away from Julie, once again following her gaze to the audience. “What should a man do but be merry? For, look you, how cheerfully my mother looks, and my father died within’s two hours.”
Julie, again, looks at him, he can see it, but he does not meet her gaze. He can’t see her face as clearly, but he knows she’s perfectly portraying an almost-hidden worry. She has to be.
“Nay, ‘tis twice two months, my lord.”
The scene is finally over, so he turns back to her, but she’s already looking at the stage floor, her face completely void of the confidence he was just facing. He knows Mrs. Harrison is going to cast her as Ophelia, and he is grateful. He thinks there’s so much more to Julie Molina than he previously thought. He wants nothing more than to stay on this stage and find it.

welcome to dot drops something that's been sitting in her tumblr drafts for 4 months Saturday I hope you enjoy your visit mwah! Steddie; Ballet AU; Dancer!Steve; mentions of cancer treatment; 1.5k words
Dress rehearsal is supposed to be a mess.
That's the point of it, really, to get all the mistakes out of your system and start the actual show run with a clean slate. Or at least, that had been the point of which they'd all convinced themselves when Steve was the one performing.
Bad dress meant good show, or so the old adage went, and so at least there was some ease of worry with the collective understanding that it won't happen on the night within the company.
That was the case when Steve was a student, when he was an apprentice, even during his time in the big leagues at Joffrey, but right now? At the end of a truly abysmal dress in this run-down theater on the edge of a town from which he'd once run away?
Steve is not the performer. He's the guy in charge.
And so he spirals.
He'd never wanted to be a director or an instructor or the head of a studio like this. It had never been in his plans. Steve was a man of action, where the people who do these jobs are the brains behind the operation.
Steve knows how to work hard, how to force his body and even his mind into submission until he gets the steps just right, but this? These past six months back in Hawkins temporarily helping out?
(God, please let it be temporary.)
He's not built for this. He's sitting center stage after everyone has left with only half the house lights to illuminate his misery and he's not. Built. For. This.
Not built for being a mentor or a leader or a role model; not built to handle the strenuous nature of his mother's legacy; not built to carry the name she's made for herself as a teacher and a choreographer and a shaper of young dancers.
Steve's not built for it!
They'd had a shitty fucking dress.
"Hey, uh, you gonna be a while? I kinda need to close up for the night."
The voice echoes across the empty space, bouncing off the high ceiling and straight up to land on the Marley floors at Steve's feet. The stage isn't built for dancers, much like Steve isn't built to be here, so they'd had to pull up the floors from the studio and drag them halfway across town just to roll them out here.
"Hello? Are you, like, alive up there?"
Steve sighs. "Yeah," he calls back, catching sight of the figure talking to him at the back of the theater, the young guy who runs the place and who Steve met a grand total of three days ago. His name is Eddie and he dresses more like he's running a music venue than a local community theater, but he's mostly stayed out of Steve's way so far. "Sorry, I'll get outta your hair."
"Sure," Eddie says, but he's just sort of leaning against the back wall by the window to the sound and lighting booth without an ounce of urgency to him as Steve drags himself to his aching feet and lugs his three separate bags of show stuff onto his shoulders.
There's an energy to an empty theater, one which has held a performance and one which now holds the ghosts of that performance, which tugs at the anxieties sitting buried deep beneath the more immediate ones.
Fears about his mom's health, about what will happen to the studio if she doesn't win this particular battle, about what will happen to him.
There's an energy here in the creak of the steps which lead down off the front of the stage and there's an energy to the plod of Steve's sneakers up the long, racked aisle between the seats.
There's an energy, but it's also not empty, is it.
"Hey, good show, dude," Eddie says, pushing off his wall as Steve grows nearer. "Like, talented kids you've got there."
Steve scoffs before he can help himself and then pinches the bridge of his nose in a grimace for not being able to help himself.
"Uh, yeah, thanks," he grits out, thinking about his bed. Thinking about how he never made time for dinner and he has to be here early again tomorrow.
"Wow, resounding confidence on this one," Eddie snorts, and when Steve opens his eyes it's to genuine amusement, genuine curiosity in the tilt of a head and furrow of a brow.
"No, just," he shakes his head, "you should see 'em when they're really on their game, y'know?"
Eddie hums, and when did Steve come to a stop right in front of him? He's leaving. He has to leave. Go home. Think about all the spacing corrections he needs to fix tomorrow and run through with the girls before show time.
"Bad dress, good show though, right?"
Steve startles. Maybe a little too visibly because Eddie is actively holding back laughter at the sight of him.
"What, I've worked at a theater for four years and I'm not supposed to pick up a thing or two about the ballet?" he snarks good-naturedly. "Caroline, the lady who did your job before you, she was a chatty one, taught me everything I know about Giselle."
It's a knife between the ribs. It's a soothing sort of heat, like from a roaring bonfire.
"You--" he clears his throat, "you know Caroline?"
"Highlight of the job honestly, before she retired," Eddie shrugs.
"She didn't retire."
"Oh. She...?"
"Chemo," Steve doesn't know why he's saying it all so willingly, why after months of trying to run the studio without having to talk about how's your mom doing, sweetheart? he's opening up to this stranger with the curly hair and curious eyes. But he knows her. He's-- Well, he knows her. "I'm just here to-- to fill in until she can come back. So."
Eddie is studying him now. Curious eyes turned intelligent, knowing, sad with the weight of realization.
"You're the wonder boy," he says on a breath like oh, I get it now.
"The what?" Steve balks.
"Her kid," Eddie says like it's simple. He's leaning against the wall again, like he's not planning on getting back to work anymore, "she was-- Shit, man, she loves the hell outta you. Oh, you should see my son, he's in Les Corsaire this season! Oh, my boy, he's just gotten promoted to soloist, he'll be a principal in no time! Oh, the talent on him, the--"
"Okay, okay, Jesus," Steve cuts him off, a half-hysterical laugh bubbling up out of his chest in the process.
"You should tell her I say hi next time you see her," Eddie isn't remotely deterred by having his little, lilting performance derailed. There's a softness to him that deserves a smaller space, walls less prone to echo.
"I will," Steve nods. His bags grow heavy on his shoulders.
"And you should chill out a little bit," he says, this time with the kind of glint to his eye that needs a bigger space, needs to be up on the stage to the point where it has Steve floundering, "y'know, about the the shitty dress that, between you and me," he leans in conspiratorially, close enough to feel the heat of his breath, "wasn't really all that shitty."
Steve sucks in a breath.
It strikes him somewhere old, the reassurance, somewhere young deep inside of him. The comforting from a mother that if he just works hard enough he’ll land that double tour in fifth some day soon, the unbroken promise that she would never give him special treatment as the son of the studio owner, but that she would never hesitate to reward him when he’d earned it on his own.
It strikes him because no one tells you how little reassurance the guy in charge is ever offered and it strikes him because it’s been such a long day and it strikes him because—
“Hey, have you had dinner yet?”
Eddie’s eyebrows lift high on his forehead and Steve sees it, the attitude on this dude that his mother absolutely would have loved in an instant. There’s a performer in there, even just in the brief interaction they’ve shared so far. There’s a spotlight pointing inwards and a show begging to be dragged out.
“No,” Eddie drags out slow and curious, “you offering, ballet boy?”
Steve needs a sounding board and he needs another set of eyes and he needs his mom to be okay and the show tomorrow to prove that he can handle this for her if she’s not, but maybe what he needs most right now, on the other side of a spiral in a dark and echoing theater, is this.
“Meet me at Benny’s in thirty,” he says simply as he makes his way for the door. “Since you’re such an experienced test audience.”
Eddie’s responding laugh is bright and his eyes glitter with curious amusement and maybe this is what Steve needs because maybe all of this is one big rehearsal at a big new life in and old small town.
And maybe this is his chance to make a mess of it. At least until the real show starts.

okay but who's playing hamlet 👀
Ah see the specifics of the cast list are exactly the kind of detail I feel like I ought to keep secret just in case I do write it.
That said, so I'm not just teasing -- Gideon is only here because there's a loophole in her syllabus that means it might just keep her from failing her freshman history course; Harrow needed an extracurricular activity her parents would consider prestigious enough to stop telling her to be "social" and "make connections" and the old Canaan Theater building is managed by a historical trust with some members in high places, and Abigail Pent is a director with a vision that involves both of them and is about to spiral in some very strange directions.

Listen I just love Danny who is unnaturally good at the most seemingly random hobbies/jobs thanks to his ghost powers. The kind of thing where you wonder why he would even be doing such a thing in the first place, but he does it so strangely perfectly that you're left wondering why you ever doubted. It only adds to the mystery that is Danny Fenton.
Obviously the cheer AU is part of this, but there are so many other possibilities. I know I've seen people talking about him learning magic tricks and illusions and being terrifyingly good at it.
He gets roped into doing a stint as a stage hand during the spring play (bc detention doesn't work as a punishment, so Lancer has the idea of giving him "community service". It works better than expected, and Danny finds himself enjoying it). All the theater kids can talk about is how good he is at moving things silently, how he can creep about without being seen at all, how he can help set off some really dazzling special effects.
People on his block start to pay him to get into their crawl spaces for various reasons, because he manages to get in and out and maneuver about way better and faster than an actual professional.
All the athletes in the school start to wonder how he got so good at identifying injuries and helping remedy them, but he's just so fast and precise that they don't complain. More than one person jokes about how he should become a trainer.
After witnessing his tactical prowess during the events of "Pirate Radio," students start coming up to him to help them develop strategies for sports plays or debates or, in one case, a tabletop RPG campaign. He's not as good at figuring it out beforehand as he is at figuring it out in the heat of the moment, but that doesn't stop people. Dash can be seen more than once at the very edge of the sideline, asking him about certain plays.
Feel free to add on more ideas if you have them. I just love things that only add to the mystery that is Danny Fenton.

Trailer park Steve AU part 51
part 1 | part 50 | ao3
Knowing the weirdness is coming doesn't make it less weird.
Steve clings to Jeff's warning like a lifeline in the days after the attack, as Eddie swings wildly from withdrawn and paranoid to brash and itching for a fight. One second he's tackling Steve in a public park, sweeping him off his feet and swinging in a wide, reckless circle, the next he's shooting dodgy glances over his shoulder and suggesting they come up with some kind of tapping code when they want to communicate the urge to kiss or hug in public.
His face is a mess for weeks.
He doesn’t want to talk about it.
Hardly wants to look at it — takes to avoiding mirrors and fucking Steve from behind, or turning off all the lights, or hiding his face behind his hair when he gets between Steve’s legs. Plays it off like he’s just being sexy, trying something new, ‘isn’t this exciting?’ But Steve’s pretty sure he just doesn’t want to see the worry in Steve’s eyes when their kisses hurt his face.
So Valentine's Day comes and goes, and Steve doesn't say it; doesn't say 'I love you,' because he's never sure he's going to get the version of Eddie who’s brave enough to say it back. They don't even do anything for the holiday, really, which kind of kills Steve, even if he won't admit it.
He can't help it; he's a sap.
They do share a heart-shaped box of chocolates in Eddie’s bed the day after, though. Led Zeppelin crooning softly from the record player, and Steve plays it off like he only bought them because they were half off, and Eddie gives him a gooey look and pushes him into the pillows. Blows him within an inch of his young life; smiles up at him at the end, lips slick and full and pretty. Steve thinks, maybe they're okay.
They’ll be okay.
Eddie may still be a little off, a little wobbly, but he’s laughing again, he’s silly and animated again, he’s playing guitar and making jokes, and—
And who is Steve to judge how a person, like, processes or whatever? At least Eddie’s not doing any late night demolition.
They’re gonna be just fine.
The last of the sickly yellow bruising slips away from Eddie's eye as the month comes to a close, so Steve decides to risk it. Asks Eddie out. A movie night, a proper date where Steve can pay for the milkshakes and let their thighs brush against each other when the theater lights go down.
And sure, they'll have to pretend it’s just two straight guys hanging out — do their tapping thing and keep a healthy distance, two bros being pals being buds being dudes — and that shit sucks, but it’s better than nothing.
Steve's never had to worry about PDA before. One more thing he won't admit is kind of slowly killing him; rope burn around his heart when he thinks about it too hard.
"What do you say?" he asks Eddie. They’re lounging on his couch, propped on opposite ends with their legs tangled in the middle. "You want to let me take you out to the city?"
Brookhaven isn't exactly the city so much as the closest suburb whose mall didn't get torpedoed by the commies, but there's a theater and some decent diners, and it's far enough away that they shouldn't run into any classmates looking to cause trouble.
Eddie gives him a wary look. “I don’t know,” he hedges, fingers coming up to worry the thin sliver of a scar under his chin.
Steve swallows the hurt. The twine chafing behind his ribs. "It's okay," he starts to say, but Eddie's eyes flare with defiance.
“Actually, fuck it,” he declares, slapping his knees as he stands up. Gets up onto the couch cushion, spreads his feet wide and puts his hands on his hips; Steve’s little metalhead superhero. Steve can't help his grin when Eddie shakes his hair out big and says, "Take me out and woo me, baby!"

We Could Be Beautiful: Dead Girl Walking
Eddie Munson X Fem!Reader
🔹An AU in which you and Eddie are both actors in a community theater production of Heathers: The Musical🔹
Word count: 1.6K
A/N: Just an idea I’ve had rolling around in my head for a while. This will probably become a series of short blurbs within this AU, taking place between the auditions and the cast party following the final performance of the show.
Tags: mutual pining, unconfessed feelings, allusions to sex, passing mention of suicide (pertaining to the plot of Heathers), references to Heathers: the Musical, song lyrics
If you’d like a visual for the scene described from the original musical, click here

You took your role as Veronica’s understudy seriously.
You’d copied down every stage direction, every line, every director’s note- you’d made sure you were prepared. Now, the ultimate test would determine just how prepared for this you really were.
Barb, the actress playing Veronica, had warned you that her sister might go into labor early, and that had been exactly what happened. That meant she would be in the delivery room on opening night, and every program in every audience member’s hand would have a little insert with your picture on it, alongside your name followed by “-will be playing the role of Veronica Sawyer.”
Already, you had managed to make it to the first quarter of the show. “Beautiful” had gone without a hitch, and you’d gotten through “Fight for Me” without your voice cracking. But next was “Dead Girl Walking,” and you were just about ready to fling yourself in front of a bus. Or drink some drain cleaner.
You hadn’t rehearsed this song with Eddie yet; you knew the words, knew the blocking, knew exactly which note you were expected to sing and every riff you had to hit. But standing behind that velvet curtain as you waited for your cue, you were practically on the verge of a panic attack. When you finally had to enter the stage, you channeled it all- the panic, the nerves, the terror of what comes after tonight.
I need it hard
I’m a dead girl walking
I’m in your yard
I’m a dead girl walking
You’d watched him sing this song with Barb so many times, and each time you’d wished it was you- now, you had your chance.
Sorry, but I really had to wake you
See, I’ve decided I must ride you ‘til I break you
Tonight I’m yours,
I’m your dead girl walking
Get on all fours,
Kiss this dead girl walking
You knew Eddie’s wide, wet eyes were those of an actor. The eyes of JD as he watches the girl of his dreams. Still, the heat and want you felt right now wasn’t Veronica’s- it was purely yours. So you let it feed Veronica’s words as you held his face in your tender hands and told JD the things you wished you could say to Eddie.
And you know, you know, you know
It’s ‘cause you’re beautiful
You say you’re numb inside
But I can’t agree
You were the one in the blue blazer now. Tonight, he was your JD, and you were scared shitless that when your lips hit his in a stage kiss that was supposed to have so much fire it set the stage ablaze, it might feel a little bit too real.
So the world’s unfair
Keep it locked out there
In here it’s beautiful
Let’s make this beautiful
Eddie- JD- gazed at you with all the wonder and adoration of a man on his knees for a generous god. His head shook gently, bewildered by his luck as he delivered the next line. “That works for me.”
Then your lips were on him, and for a second you let yourself pretend he was kissing you back and not Veronica. His mouth was warm, his hands hungry as they roamed over your clothes and subtly squeezed until you felt your blazer’s polyester pucker.
When you pulled away for your high note, you gazed into his eyes and saw nothing but truth looking back at you. That fire you’d been feeling all this time was reflected in his eyes tonight. Sure, maybe it’s the stage lights. Maybe he’s just a really good actor. Maybe you’re fucking obsessed with him- but whatever it was, you felt wanted in those eyes. So yeah, you let yourself believe it. You let the script burn you alive.
Full steam ahead,
Take this dead girl walking
Let’s break the bed,
Rock this dead girl walking
You were drunk on the awe in his gaze, the way he looked up at you like he wasn’t sure if you’d really just barged in through his window to ride him until he was a broken mess, or if you were a fantasy his mind had conjured to fuel his desire to belong to someone who would cherish all he had to give.
Again, Eddie was a talented actor. You knew that was his interpretation of how his character felt about your character. Still, you let yourself fall into the script as you straddled his tense, shirtless body, his abs crunching under the blue stage lights in a way that made you salivate. You wondered what your spit would look like on his skin.
You were far too horny to be professional. At least you weren’t so far gone that you couldn’t remember your blocking.
No sleep tonight for you,
Better chug that Mountain Dew
Your heart fell into your core upon hearing Eddie’s whimpered ‘okay, okay’ in character, needy and submissive beneath you.
Get your ass in gear,
Make this whole town disappear
His eyebrows pulled together, voice stronger and raspier as it ripped from his chest. ‘Okay, okay!’ His fingers snuck underneath your skirt, fingertips digging into the soft flesh of your ass. You wished it was real.
You eyed him like a predator eyes a kill, determined to stay in his head until he needed you for real. You ran your palm over your cheek, brought your other hand up to fist in your hair, and pretended both hands were his.
Slap me,
Pull my hair,
You grabbed his wrists forcefully, bringing them up one by one to grope each of your tits.
Touch me
There (left tit)
And there (right tit)
And there
To punctuate the final syllable, you couldn’t stop an involuntary writhe of your torso into Eddie’s hands as he grasped your white button down (which was actually a snap-up) at the chest and pulled hard, simultaneously pinching your nipples through your bright blue bra and ripping open your blouse to showcase the swell of your chest for the whole audience to see. You didn’t notice them, though- you noticed the way he looked at your chest like it was the second coming of Christ. You witnessed that fractional widening of his eyes, the way he was entranced by every move you made as you writhed in his lap.
And no more talking
Love this dead girl walking
Eddie’s voice was lightning in the wake of thunder, bright and jagged and beautifully raw with power as he crooned a harmony to your lead as the song drew to a close. This song wasn’t an easy one to sing; had you not been so distracted by how it felt to have Eddie’s hips between your thighs you might have been nervous that you’d flub your high notes- but you didn’t. In a moment of sheer improvisation you did what just felt right, and that meant grabbing Eddie by hair at the base of his neck and wrenching his head back as you rolled your hips into his.
You knew your blocking was to arch your back away from him, but instead you brought your face close enough to his that it’s possible his mic picked up your perfect, clear falsetto as you pleaded, ‘Love this dead girl walking’ with the cadence of a lover asking, begging their beloved ‘don’t stop, don’t stop, don’t stop’. Eddie’s eyes registered your improvisational choice, and maybe you imagined it but behind those big brown button eyes he seemed to come alive with you, sitting up even further and digging one hand into your soft, hot skin while the other flexed against the stage floor to keep him balanced. His little ‘whoa, whoa, hey, hey, yeah yeah’s were short and breathy, sounding more like moans and whimpers as he rolled the sturdy bones of his hips into you as you matched his rhythm.
If you closed your eyes, you could pretend. If you didn’t have blocking to follow, you might have kissed him again, might have bitten his lip, might have reached for his belt buckle with reckless abandon and let a summer’s worth of pining win over in your mind. Instead, you channeled that passion into the way your hips ground into him with the fervor of a woman with nothing to lose.
Together the two of you finished out the song with heavy breaths and belted lyrics. You writhed. He thrusted.  ‘Love this dead girl,’ your voices intertwined in a desperate dance for release from the tension between you that, at some point, had grown thick as two oak trees planted near enough to forget where one ends and the other begins.
‘Yeah!’
Your hand on his chest splayed out over faded ink. Your hips swiveled against his groin.
‘Yeah!’
His hand fisted in the plaid fabric of your skirt. That wasn’t in the blocking- had they added that? Was this improv?
‘Yeah!’
Using the grip on your skirt, he tugged you further into him as his hips bucked up just enough to bounce you on his groin and shake your exposed cleavage. Without thinking, your hand flew into his hair, grasping the sweaty curls at the nape of his neck and tugging sharply back. You weren’t supposed to do that.
‘Ow!’
It wasn’t supposed to be a moan, but that was definitely what you would call the sound you pulled from Eddie’s mouth. A soft yet sharp, breathy moan that existed somewhere in the valley between pleasure and pain and definitely sounded more sexy and less funny, which is how it was supposed to sound. You saw Eddie’s eyes go wide as he too came to this realization.
No matter; if you played it off, no one in the audience would know the difference. You let go of his hair and flung your hand into the air above you, reaching for heaven and belting out your last ‘Yeah’ into the stage lights that lined the rafters above you. Your back arched, and you felt one final push of Eddie’s pelvis into yours, weaker this time as he too came down from the endorphins that ravaged every thought in both your mind and his.

Love Language (W.M)
Wanda Maximoff x Fem!CivilianReader (Avengers AU)
Tumblr media
Summary: After Thanos, Wanda retires, along with a long term effect from all the missions she had and then she met you.
Warning: None, just some fluff. Mentions of hearing loss and sign languages.
A/n: Hello! It's me! I have a fluff now after the angsts I have posted. Thanks to my Curious George anon for the inspiring talk and ideas. Y'all can thank her too for motivating me to write and post a fic here today. lol. Welp, happy reading peeps!
Main Masterlist
Years of being Avengers was quite a lot for Wanda, not to mention losing Vision after Pietro. Mission after mission, countless fighting off the enemies felt like she was in an endless war without any possibility to end.
Fortunately, Wanda was wrong. After defeating Thanos, The Avengers are finally able to retire. Wanda is grateful that everybody including her are still alive, though it was hard for her in the beginning to get out the grief from Vision’s death. During all of the fighting she has been through as an Avengers, Wanda can’t escape the explosions or other loud sounds that happened.
It cost her an invisible permanent damage. Wanda has a progressive hearing loss. Her hearing is slowly deteriorating by time causing her to have to learn to read people’s lips in the beginning. With Natasha’s support, Wanda finally accepts her condition and learns sign language to be prepared for the day when she totally loses her hearing.
Then you come into her life.
To Wanda, meeting you at the grocery store near her house was the best thing ever to happen to her life. You brought back the colors in her life that she thought she had lost. You and Wanda have been together for almost a year. She loves you with all her heart. You are the life that she never thought that she would have ever again. Losing people that she loves has made her very skeptical in finding her happiness again but you have saved her.
You, you fell in love with her very hard. Heads over heels. To you, Wanda is perfect. No matter how much she tells you that she is not. You can’t blame her. You understand why she always tells you that she is not perfect because of her condition. Although right now she can still hear certain sounds but most of the time, Wanda can’t hear very well.
Wanda tries to stall as long as she can to not wear hearing aids. She doesn’t feel confident
about how it looks when she puts them on even though some of them don’t look that obvious and are pretty discreet. At this point, Tony has given up in trying to convince her to wear the one that he created special for her. She prefers to read people's lips than wear hearing aids.
Since the first time you both met and then officially dating, the communications have been easy. You always try to talk clearly and slowly and she focuses on reading your lips. Wanda sees how patient you are no matter how many times she asks you to repeat your words or when she doesn’t hear your soft spoken voice.
Wanda knows how hard it is to learn sign language so she always tells you that you don’t have to learn about it. She loves you so much that she told you she would wear hearing aids once she loses all her hearing to save you and your time from learning sign language.
With mutual understanding and how much both of you love each other, life has been very beautiful and happy. Both of you do a lot of things together. Her favorite is movie night together with a lot of snacks and drinks. Either watching new movies at the theater and sometimes at home or watching another rerun of her or your favorite sitcoms.
Wanda always tries to hold herself back not to ask you whenever she probably can’t hear or miss some words because she doesn’t want to bother you. Being the sweetest girlfriend you are, you always quickly pause the movie whenever you see her face looking confused because you know what is actually happening and then help her explain or ask her which part she misses.
Tonight, you just bought an older movie that Wanda has been wanting to watch with you. All snacks are ready on the table and you are waiting for Wanda to bring the drinks.
You have been munching your favorite chips while waiting for her.
“Okay, here’s your drink, my sweet.” Wanda hands you the drink. You take the drink and try to finish the chips in your mouth before you answer. “Yay! Thank you, princess.” You take a sip then put the drink down.
You have some more chips and try to finish the chips. Wanda notices that you chew in a rush.
"Baby?" She calls.
"Hm?" You tap her hands as a sign of your hum while busy chewing and turning your head to her.
"You know if you keep chewing like that you'll finish the chip before the movie even starts, right?" Wanda teases you with a question followed by a giggle.
"Well yeah, that was the point, love." You smile. Wanda squints her eyebrows a little as she tries harder to read your lips while you are chewing and talk at the same time.
"What? Why?" Wanda looks perplexed from your answer.
"Oh, I'm trying to finish them all before the movie starts because I don't want to be noisy with all the crunchy noise during the movie, so you can hear the movie better." You explained as you take more chips.
Wanda feels her heart melt instantly after hearing your reason, bubbles of joy fill her heart. Her smile shows up right away on her face.
Her hand grabs yours to stop you grabbing the chips. "Detka, that's very sweet of you. You don't have to do that, I still can hear it. Thank you very much for thinking that way."
"Are you sure? I thought you don't like crunchy food when you are watching a movie?" Now it's your turn being confused as you look at her.
Wanda laughs a little. "Well it's okay. I can still hear it. It's harder for me to hear it if I was the one that chew the crunchy snacks but thank you, y/n." She smiles once more and leans to you to give you a quick kiss on your cheek.
She snuggles up closer to you, wrapping her arms around you and looks at you with her sparkling green eyes, full of joy and thinking how lucky she is to have the thoughtful you in her life.
“What did I do to deserve you? Gosh, you are so adorable.” she says in a very loving, grateful tone.
You look at her with your blushing cheeks as usual, you don’t know how to react to her compliment for you because all you can do is smile and ask her back “What? What did I do?”
“Just being you, sweet and thoughtful to me.” she replies, followed by her giggle that always makes you want to laugh with her.
“Of course. You deserve everything.” You kiss her forehead and you hear her giggle more.
“Oh, the movie starts. Shall we watch it now?” you ask as soon as you notice the TV screen.
She nods with a smile.
_____
The first thirty minutes of the movie, both of you enjoy it together. The longer the movie passes, the more often you shift your position and it becomes too obvious for Wanda to notice.
“Y/n, are you okay?”
You look at her with a nervous smile. “Yes, I am okay, love. Why?”
“Oh nothing. Your thoughts are pretty loud. I meant I don’t really know what you are thinking but I know for sure your mind is spinning right now. Like, you are nervous or worried about something.” Your Sokovian girlfriend explains her own conclusion from what she figures from your thoughts. Despite her power that can hear your thoughts, Wanda promises you that she will never invade the privacy of your mind. Being the overthinker you are, sometimes everything in your head can be pretty loud for her to at least feel them.
You are trying your best to not think too much so it won’t give Wanda a complete gift away on what you really have on plan.
You laugh, hoping that it will cover the truth. “Nervous? Why would I be nervous?” you asked apprehensively while you clear your throat. Bunch of thoughts bounce around in your head, memorizing things while preparing the right answer for any possible questions that Wanda might ask.
Seeing more obvious and a little unusual behaviors of yours, Wanda pauses the movie. Silence is all she wants right now so she can hear you just in case you are going to say something, but you don’t.
A concerned sigh went out of her lips. “Y/n, sweetheart. Look at me, please. Is everything okay? What’s wrong?”
You turn your body facing her now with your face looking down a little. You mumble a little and your hand slightly moves in a certain way as if you are rehearsing something.
“Babe, I can’t hear you and I can’t read your lips either. What did you say?” A line of confusion appears between her eyebrows. Her eyes try to look at your lips to read them.
You take a deep breath and exhale it slowly. “Okay..” you mumble once more under your breath then get on one knee.
You hold her hands and look into her eyes. Comfortable silence fills the room. “Wanda, my love.” The beautiful brunette in front of you looks so surprised with what she sees, not from what she reads on your lips because you didn’t say anything but your hands movements say it all.
You continue doing sign language for everything that you are about to say to her.
“I’m so glad that a year ago you came for my help at work and asked me where the beddings aisle was, because you were the sweetest and cutest woman I’ve ever met. My heart skipped a bit and knew that you were the one for me right then right away. Having a life with you in this past year has been the best privilege I ever have. Loving you is so easy because you are perfect and flawless. I want to keep going, having life and loving you for the rest of my life. So, Wanda, will you marry me?” you slow down your hand movement when you reach the last sentence to show more emotions in it and right after that, you grab the opened little box with a ring in it.
Wanda looks at you in awe and can’t hold back her happy tears. Joy warms her heart. She is touched by your effort and surprise at learning sign language, let alone proposing to her with it.
“Of course! Yes! A thousand times yes!” Due to how speechless she is from the enormous amount of happiness, Wanda’s hand did the sign language for her answer. She then pulls you to hug you and kiss you.
Several quick gentle kisses land on your lips and cheeks. You pull yourself back a little to see her joyful beautiful face. Wanda’s hand gently rubs your cheek and goes to the top of your head, caressing your hair as soon as you two end up snuggling on the couch.. Both of you looked at each other with the look of so much love.
“When did you learn sign language?” She questioned you in a curious tone. “Uh, Tony and Natasha have been helping me with it at the compound, plus he created this app that can help me learn more by myself whenever I can.”
“Wait, so all these overtime at work the last few months? You actually went to the compound to learn your proposal lines?” Wanda giggles and her cheeks blush at the same time.
“Yes, I have been going to the compound and no, I didn’t learn only the proposal lines. I learned everything. I know sign language now, only for you but I’m not a pro yet, so please bear with me.” you answer after you give a few more soft kisses all over her that draws more giggles from her.
“Aww, that’s really sweet. Thank you, y/n. I’m so lucky to have you.” Wanda expresses her genuine feelings.
“I love you, Wanda.”
Those words are the most beautiful words she ever reads on your lips that will always swoon her off her feet, fall for you over and over again.
“I love you too, my sweet.
A/n: Welp, that's all for today from me. I hope you enjoyed this short fluff. Let me know what you think. Reblogs and comments are highly appreciated. Follow me for more and see you in next!
Cheerio!

Hear me out, poly morning crew theater au but they’re not actors, they’re the backstage crew.
Fit is in charge of moving and building sets and helping any scene changes. He’s the strongest person in their little community theater and he begrudgingly accepted the job.
Pac is in charge of props and he runs that shit like he’s in the army. No one is allowed to touch anything without him being aware of it and gods help you if you break anything because you’re screwing around with it.
Tubbo is the lighting/sound tech. He’s not happy about the limited capabilities of the equipment he has to work with but he understands that they have a budget. The best part about his job is that he can stare at Fit and his muscles during the brief moments he has to run on to stage to move something.
The cast of their little shows are fully aware that something is happening between the three but most just chalk it down to the adrenaline of a show

More Twst x Stardew things
The Royal Sword Corporation opened one of their stores in town years ago. Crowley hates it. He hates the manger, Ambrose, who wants him to sell the community center so they can open another Royal Sword Business in town.
Che'nya works at Royal Sword Mart. Neige actually got his big break from Royal Sword. He got cast in a commercial for it, and it did so well that he's the face of a whole ad campaign now. Vil is angry and jealous because he also auditioned for that role and Neige got picked over him.
Vil still acts and models, but it's on a much smaller scale compared to Neige. Like he gets hired a lot to do ads and commercials for businesses in town, and in all the neighboring towns, to the point he's kind of a local celebrity in the area. He keeps visiting the city to audition for theater, but so far nothing. He ideally would like to move to the city to pursue bigger roles, but it's just not in the cards now.
The witch that turns your eggs into void eggs at night is Malleus grandma. He gets embarrassed, and has tried convincing her to get a different hobby, to no avail.
Fellow and Giddel are event characters. They get hired to work at the county fair during the fall, and sometimes stop by on the Night Market. There's a quest where you can befriend them so they can move into town, and Giddel can join the other kids on their lessons.
Leonas family is very well off. After his father passed while Leona was still a minor, Falena took custody of him, and he still lives with Falena and his wife, Asha. The Kingscholars were successful in their careers and had plenty of money. Like the farmer, they wanted a change of pace from city life and bought a nice inn just outside of town. Falena runs the actual business while Asha still works as a lawyer. Leona is taking online courses while working at the inn. Ruggie also works there and often has to keep Leona on track.
Ace is a carpenter, and was like Robin, the first person in town to greet you and show you to Ramshackle Farm. And like Robin, he also called your grandpa's house crusty. He also has beef with your cat, Grim. Everytime he comes by to work on something, they have a stare off.
Jade is still interested in foraging, and often gives helpful tips, like what is in season and where to find it. His favorite gifts are any mushrooms.
The mermaid who does a show at the Night Market is Rielle.
Ortho, Najma, and Cheka are like the Jas and Vincent in town. They're the local kids you always see running around, along with everyone else's little siblings, like Jack's brother and sister.
Since there's more than two kids in town in this au, there is an actual school house in the area. It's right next to or is connected to the library, and Clara is the local teacher. Trein helps her out by doing the history lessons. Clara will give the older kids their lessons in the morning before doing their more independent study time and class work in the afternoon while she teaches the little ones. Trein usually keeps an eye on the older kids while they work in the library. It's hard though, Lucius keeps demanding their attention when they're supposed to be doing homework.
Ramshackle is still haunted. There's ghost all over the property, and they mostly show up at night. But they will sometime show up indoors, like in the house, sheds, and greenhouse.
If you marry Leona, he will nap in the greenhouse.
If you marry Deuce, he will work on his bike outside.
If you marry Vil, his post marriage heart event is him going away to work after taking a bigger role. Kinda like Elliot going on his book tour.
If you marry Cater, he will post about living on a farm. He will absolutely make vlog type videos going "My day in the life of a stay at home farm husband."

TMNT 2012: Actor AU
An AU where TMNT 2012 is a literal TV show and everyone are just actors on a set.
Here’s what goes on behind the scenes:
Raph and Mona Lisa fell in love on set filming the show and became a couple during filming. When filming season 4, Raph developed an actual crush on his costar, so after filming season 4, he asked her out and she accepted, admitting that she fell for him too while filming their scenes together. They are dating in both the show and real life, and even after the show ended they're still going strong.
Karai is a famous child actor. She's been acting since she was a little girl.
Splinter and Shredder are long time friends and always have fun on set together, they’ve been doing movies/shows together since they were young men so they consider each other brothers
This is April’s first big role in a show, she was always a background character in her other jobs before she got her big break
Mikey likes pranking people on set, this infuriates the crew
Raph likes to tease people when they screw up their lines or takes, but god forbid you laugh at Raph if he messes up his lines
April and Donnie are besties on set, not romantic, but they enjoy pretending to be a couple in the show: “he/she’s the best fake boyfriend/girlfriend I’ve ever had!”
Leo and Karai are uncomfortable with the relationship their characters have and constantly argue with the writers to fix it or change it
Slash originally audition for Raphael’s role, he didn’t get the part, but the director liked him so much that he created a character just for him so he could be on the show
Karai knew Shinigami outside of the show (they worked on another show together years prior). When the director wanted to add a new character in season 4, Karai recommended her friend for the part, so Shini got the roll and was casted as Karai’s second in command
Leatherhead started by doing community theater, so being on a tv set was a big change for him
Casey keeps hitting on his female co stars
Karai and Mona Lisa do not get along on set
Leo's voice change was written into the show because of an actual injury that happened to him before they began filming season 3
The plot twist of Irma being a robot really pissed off Irma (she and the director don’t get along and he did that twist out of spite), eventually she was able to find a loophole and return to the show to play Rook.
Leo has a long term girlfriend outside of the show, it’s Lotus Blossom ;)
Casey always shows up late and keeps on being threatened by the director that he’ll get fired (he knows he won’t be fired)
Mikey and Renet are long time co stars, starring together in other shows from the past (reference to their VAs Greg Cipes and Ashley Johnson)
Tang Shen is a tv star legend and her appearance on the show was as a guest star
Tiger Claw is a new popular action movie star. Splinter and Shredder are his idols that he grew up watching.
Timothy got fired from the set for accidentally destroying filming equipment. That’s why he never came back
