Wandavision is unintencionally a terrifying story about how cishet middle class white woman can get away with almost anything with just a slap in the wrist and still feel like a victim.

I've been rewatching old MCU movies (where Tony is alive, sue me) and I still find it so hard to watch J.A.R.V.I.S die. He loved Tony so much, cared for him so much and that, even nowdays, when people throw that Edwin Jarvis' quote "I'd hate to live on as a voice" or something like this, to justify that Tony was wrong to create J.A.R.V.I.S and give him Edwin's voice is like a fucking insult to both Tony Stark and Edwin Jarvis.
Tumblr media
Because Edwin was the one who rised Tony. To that boy Jarvis was the father, not Howard Stark and for the script writers who say that Jarvis would have hated if he knew about J.A.R.V.I.S having his voice, when he knew that Tony, the boy he raised, found comfort in his voice... is like the most disgusting thing in the entire universe (universes).
And to mention, the biggest fuck up (or, knowing them, it was probably intentional with how they hate Tony) was when they had Vision fall in love with a woman who gave herself to neo-Nazi organisation because she hated Tony that much. Who was responsible of Ultron being created, who was responsible of J.A.R.V.I.S' death and who triggered Tony's PTSD again (because she is their baby white girl (you know, when she is canonicaly Rromani, but *whitewashing* (I'm white myself*)) who makes them more money)...
That something that came from J.A.R.V.I.S, Tony's most advanced A.I. that Tony created, who loved his creator so much and whose prime purpose was to protect Anthony Edward Stark, would ever fall in love with that woman is butchering both Edvin Jarvis' and J.A.R.V.I.S' characters...
Tumblr media
And to not even show how devastated Tony probably was in AoU and just make Wanda their princess who can do no wrong... To have Vision even entertain the idea of liking J.A.R.V.I.S murderer is horrifying and I'm very glad to see that her suffering and hope that she will bring death upon herself (we all know she didn't die in MoM, MCU writers will never kill off their milking cow when they can make more money).
Also, I've not watched MoM but I've read what happens and to all these people who even like Wanda after all that shit she pulled (starting with in WANDAVISION) and go like "slay, qeeun"; "girlboss" and everything like that... get out of my page and never interact with me, ya'll disgust me and scare me too.

No but like seriously it's almost been 10 years and it's crazy that the MCU introduced Pietro, someone who historically has SO MUCH CHARACTER TO HIM, let him have like 3 lines and turn him into a one off with a shock value death the movie didn't need.

I think the superhero actor/actress who understands their character the LEAST (at least the character from the source material) is Elizabeth Olsen.
I am continuously shocked, every time she opens her mouth regarding comic book Wanda.
Also, it’s disturbing how most mcu Wanda fans, including Olsen, romanticize and glorify House of M.

OUTLAWS X READER Headcanons
this for that poll I did and Jason Todd headcanons won, but with a twist. Just writing something to cheer me up after someone made me cry:
i don’t have the money to read all the comics so pls bare with me and my knowledge exclusive from social media and dc pages that need better summary.
• Reader has Scarlet witch like powers. (Wanda in DC lmao)
• you trained with Constantine for a few years, until you met Jason and joined his emo group
• It’s more like a team with Roy and Jason but ofc pairing up with the iconic group from time to time
• Everyone is helplessly in love with you, but in different ways.
• You were kind to Bizarro from moment one, never making him feel like a monster. you have used your powers to soothe his mind, which he appreciates
• “you’re so ugly” “you don’t look like a princess”
• “aw Bizarro, you are too nice”
• you bought him a Black Canary vinyl, and he declared his love for you right then and there
• Artemis and you might have had a rough start, but eventually became close, too close
• You helped her see her strength in her own inside war
• She respects strong women, and knows one when she sees her. So she had a great respect for you, as you for her.
• eventually she might have had a small crush on you, though crushes are not her thing.
• you guys complain about the guys way too much (And you love it)
• Pls Roy thinks you are hot and that’s enough for him to love you.
• though you are pretty cool too. (And he’s aware of the fact that you can easily kill him)
• you both enjoy listening to punk bands and feel like rebel kids. Is fun.
• you also mock Jay together, he hates it.
• Roy and Artemis have gotten into fights while pulling you to each of their sides because of who should be the one to take you out
• “I’m the hottest redhead” “you’re the dumbest redhead”
• “Jason is also a redhead..?” “He is a fake redhead. He doesn’t deserve you”
• Jokes on them, while they keep fighting you are glancing towards Jason, who is just sitting with his legs propped up on a table, reading away
• he looks cute.
• but don’t tell him.
• honestly, you don’t know what’s going on with Jason. You are attracted to him, and you know he is towards you too.
• he is just so complicated
• sometimes the burning sensation of the Lazarus Pit gets the best of him and he loses it, his anger taking control. Luckily you are always there for him.
• your magic soothes him and helps him compose himself.
• you stay with your foreheads touching while you match your breathing. Waiting for him to take control over on his own.
• Sometimes just your touch, w/o magic, is enough to calm him. That sweet reminder that not every touch from a foreign skin on his means pain.
• the only pain you could ever cause him is in his heart.
• but he won’t tell you that. (Or to himself)
• you actually met when he was Robin, but you were a civilian, and neither of you recall much. You more than him though.
• someone once called you wannabes Justice Leaguers, You all showed your appreciation for the comment <3 🔪
• most of the justice league either doesn’t know about you, or are too scared to come close. Your ex-mentors love u tho (supes is another story, kay?)
• you all are just fun, traumatized friends hanging out
• they are your found family, and you wouldn’t change them for anything <3

“They say looks can kill, and I might try.” — Taylor Swift, “Vigilante Shit”
an outfit for my beloved Wanda if she ends up going to the 2024 Hellfire Gala (if there is one at all tbh)!! I wasn't personally a fan of her 2023 look, so I decided to try my hand at designing a look of my own despite knowing jack shit about fashion. design breakdown, inspiration photos, and just general rambling under the cut :)
main inspo:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
top row: left by REEM ACRA, right by unknown
middle row: sketches by Kevin Wada
bottom row: garments by Zita Moldovan (website)
--
hehe, this is the part where I ramble about my design process!! I will confess, it took me four full sketches before I finally managed to purge the "high fantasy fairy queen dress" brainrot from my mind and arrive at a concept that actually felt like Wanda. given that as of her 2023 solo run, she's a self-employed business owner, a twist on a suit felt appropriate!! it's elegant, it's dramatic, it's sexy, it's powerful, and it's also a garment that, like, real people could wear?? which, I know this is a comic book and she also has magic, but, like. girl deserves a fit that's also reasonably comfortable. girl deserves pockets (I didn't showcase them, but the pants absolutely have humongous magic pockets.) talking fabric, I will confess that I really don't know much, but I picture the red fabric being pretty thick silk and the black fabric possibly being velvet? the shoes are beaded pretty much all over with the same crystal material as the crown.
as I continued to refine my concept, I looked to Kevin Wada's 2015 redesign for Wanda's last solo run for more inspiration. that's how I arrived at concepts such as the use of beaded accessories, floral embroidery, and especially the plunging neckline. I also knew I wanted to pay homage to Wanda's heritage without being stereotypical, so I decided to look to Zita Moldovan, a Romani designer whose site is linked above, to see how she incorporated her culture into her work. (as an aside, there's this other dress from her Romany Dreams collection that I would LOVE to draw Wanda in at some point, but that was not this project. maybe soon.) the dress I included in my (very, very trimmed down) inspo board was my primary reference as I drew the pattern for the pant part of the pantsuit. (I attempted multiple versions where the pattern was in color, but it wound up looking really muddy, so I opted for the slightly more subtle version you see here.) the pose for the final piece doesn't showcase the epaulette well (or the crown pin, which was another reference to the Kevin Wada design), so here's a bonus sketch that came out of the "design" part of this whole project that shows them both better:
Tumblr media
anyone who has followed my art knows that I generally draw my Wanda with a high ponytail, but I decided to spice things up and draw her with a half-up like she has circa Uncanny Avengers #27 (this is when she and Jericho are being so very sweet together). the golden hoop earrings are another thing I carried over from my general Wanda design, and the makeup is just a quick thing I came up with on the fly. it's not the spiciest, I know, but I decided there was enough going on elsewhere that she didn't need a crazy makeup look as well. the full-finger ring is specifically a reference to her very first appearance in X-Men #4, where she calls upon her power by pointing her right index finger. I thought it would be cool to accentuate that finger as a result!!
Tumblr media
and there you have it--a tribute to Kevin Wada and Zita Moldovan from an artist who knows nothing about fashion but does have severe enough blorbo brainrot to attempt to design an outfit regardless :D
shoutout to @jookpubstock for once again enabling my shenanigans :)

Unpopular Phase 4 & 5 Opinions
Quantumania is the worst Phase 4/5 movie. And it wasn’t even because “kang got beat by ants.” (I liked kang in this movie). It’s just that the Spy Kids aesthetic & bad acting & overall weird vibes just weren’t for me.
Love and Thunder is no worse than Ragnarok. I would argue that it’s better in a lot of ways, actually. I really liked it.
Taika Waititi ruined thor with bad humour all the way back in Ragnarok tbh, but y’all weren’t complaining about it then 😒.
BuckySarah is better than sambucky every day of the week.
The Marvels was a good ass movie & they’re one of my favorite teams in the mcu. I’ll never forgive cbm sites & online dudebros for killing the hype from the moment the film was announced.
I adore America Chavez & Kamala Kahn and I want to see them in everything. They must be protected at all costs.
Multiverse of Madness had shitty characterisation & basically just copy-pasted the ‘grief made me go off the deep end & hurt people, then I realised and stopped myself’ storyline from Wandavision… but Wanda was extremely selfish & apathetic to other people’s suffering from the time she was introduced in the mcu. MoM didn’t make her like that.
Wanda should’ve been looking for Vision (her actual real life boyfriend whom she spent years with irl) in MoM instead of the kids that weren’t even real that she spent like a week using as characters in her sitcom.
Making everyone forget Peter Parker wasn’t profound or poetic in any way- it was just frustrating and needlessly cruel.
I’m begging marvel to understand that heroes don’t have to be in constant suffering to be heroic & villains don’t have to sacrifice themselves to achieve redemption. Let characters heal and atone, you absolute weirdos.
What If…? is the most boring show ever. I’d rather watch Secret Invasion or She-Hulk.
Season 2 of Loki is, in a cinematic & artistic sense, the best marvel project period.
Loki season 1 was meh- more of a fun au than anything because his characterisation kinda sucked. Season 2 fixed it, though, and made it way easier for me to incorporate this version of Loki back into the larger mcu.
Having Steve stay in the past with Peggy was stupid af.
I don’t hate Peggy (or Captain Carter), though. I actually think she’s pretty cool.
I don’t really love Steve. He’s arrogant & they never really let him have flaws & something about him being a perfect metaphor for the American military industrial complex (and marvel painting that as a good thing) doesn’t sit right with me.
The Illuminati got done dirty and the only reason they went down so fast was because Wanda had all that plot armor.
I thought the retcon of having Wanda be “destined” to become the Scarlet Witch since birth was an annoying cop-out. Her powers originating from being experimented on with an infinity stone was way more interesting.
Loki & Wanda have almost the exact same powers.
Nebula deserved a bigger rule in killing Thanos & everything else moving forward.
I love Kathryn Newton but her acting as Cassie Lang was the worst acting I’ve ever seen in the mcu, like it was outrageously bad.
I’m glad Sam is the new Captain America and not Bucky.
The fact that Bucky probably isn’t gonna be one of Thee lead characters in the upcoming avengers movies feels sick and twisted.
Secret Invasion was actually passable until the G’iah scene at the end. That ruined it. And Nick Fury deserved way better for his solo series.
Kang is so much more interesting than Doctor Doom. I really hope they just recast him.
Carol Danvers does NOT deserve the hate she gets.
I actually disliked Carol until The Marvels. That movie made me a stan.
The way people treat Monica as Wanda’s little inferior pet creation or smth & then brag about it is uhh very sus.
I don’t like sylvie (bc she’s an amalgamation of 3 different comic characters- which killed any hopes of them appearing individually in the mcu, the creators used her existence to butcher Loki’s genderfluid rep, & she was written poorly) & I HATE sylki (bc it’s weird & unnecessary).
Marvel isn’t dead. I actually love where they’re taking things. But that’s just me.

Analyzing Loki's Love Interests (Canon and Foreshadowed and Not-So-Canon)
As always, spoilers for Loki, a multitude of comics, and the MCU. I'm focusing on primarily canon love interests and implied to potentially become canon love interests, with one glaring exception because I think they deserve to be included here.
Women Love Interests
Amora: leads Loki on and then betrays him (Where Mischief Lies)
Lorelei: betrays Loki in Agent of Asgard at least twice (and she's made appearances as Loki's love interest in other comics, too, but none that I've read). It should also probably be noted that Amora and Lorelei are sisters and both have also dated Thor in other comics.
Wanda: brief but a bit of a lead-on in Scarlet Witch 8. I wouldn't say she betrayed him, though.
Leah: they're children, mostly, so there's not explicitly romantic scenes. But Kid Loki is the reincarnation of his previous self, and Leah is a clone of Hela (which makes things weird, since Hela is inconsistently acknowledged to be Loki's daughter in the comics). Leah essentially betrays him, too. (Journey into Mystery)
Sylvie: Of course, she betrays Loki at the end of season one. On the one hand, it may be worse, because unlike all but Lorelei (of the comics I know), she led him on to the point of actually kissing him. Now, I will concede that she doesn't actually lead him on throughout the show (by my definition at least), so in this, she's certainly better than Amora or Leah. I think a few times she tried letting him down gently. But if you only look at the point of betrayal, I believe she and Lorelei are the only ones who kissed him, though Amora may have, too.
Men Love Interests
Theo: The only canon male love interest on the list; trusts Loki, believes he's better than the stories say, sympathizes with him and his feelings of being outcasted. He's courageous and determined and snarky, but with Loki he's ultimately soft.
Mobius: He knows Loki, from an academic standpoint, probably better than anyone. And then he gets to know Loki off paper, so to speak, and it rewrites everything he thought he understood, about this specific person, about himself, about reality itself. But his compassion remains, his kindness remains, and he directs it toward Loki when he needs it most. And he discovers he believes in Loki, and his potential, and his ability to dismantle everything everyone expects of him, at a moment when Loki's not even sure he believes in himself. And the trailer for season two means one of two things: One, if the Mobius from the finale is not our Mobius, then Mobius very quickly moves heaven and earth (or rather, alternate timelines) to get to his Loki. Or two, if the Mobius from the finale is a memory-wiped Mobius, then even when he doesn't know Loki, he's still determined to help him. (Or Loki was able to restore his memories, but even in the finale we can still see this care Mobius takes with a frightened stranger.)
Thor: I think the way Thor feels for Loki is clear (whether you interpret it as brotherly alone or romantic). In Ragnarok, you have his line "I thought the world of you." And you have the many times in the comics Thor claims him as his own. "You are my brother, and I love you." In Original Sin, it's so interesting to hear their language very subtly cause a conflict between them. When referring to Angela, Thor always says "our sister" and Loki always says "your sister." To the point that Thor actually calls him out on it once, though I don't think Loki really addresses it. And I think Loki's wording is an attempt more to distance himself from Odin and all the shit he caused, and now Freyja, too, after the betrayal of the All-Mother in securing Old Loki's promised future at the cost of Loki's penance and redemption. And then you have that moment in King Thor, my favorite comic panel, when the Necrosword is swallowing them in darkness and in the very last moment they reach for each other. Because Thor will never give up on Loki. And, try as he might, Loki cannot hate Thor. Not permanently.
I feel like Loki's writers, when they give him these women lovers, almost do it to spite him. They think this is the only type of woman to catch Loki's attention and that haha, Loki's been outmatched by a girl (if misogynist) or diva (if they worship the ground this woman walks on). This idea that the only interesting or believable romantic subplot for Loki is with a woman who will ultimately turn on him. Once again, in all aspects of his narrative, Loki's stuck doing the same thing over and over again. Except this seems like the one thing all writers are willing to let him keep up the cycle, and be seemingly okay with upholding the cycle.
In the case of canon, an argument could be made about this kind of woman (and all of these women are very different except in that they betray him eventually) being Loki's type. There's a rather sick sense of irony in being aware of the narrative, yet being so attracted to a certain quality that he keeps sowing the seeds of his own destruction even in knowing how it's going to end.
Of course, like I've said, this doesn't mean Loki can't love a woman. This doesn't mean I don't want Loki to ever have a girlfriend. I just want Loki to have a love interest for once who isn't going to hurt him before the novel or issue or season ends. I don't even care what gender they are. I just want him to be loved. Because he keeps insisting that he isn't and that he's incapable of it. And I'm tired of that story. And I think he might be, too.

Below is propaganda submitted in support of why this character should join the tumblr found family:
Poor thing got destroyed by the MCU, she didn't deserve that. I wish her a speedy recovery from such.
.
LISTEN - Wanda deserved better in the MCU, ok? Also, this just says Marvel. It doesn't have to mean the MCU - consider comics Wanda. She's got amazing stories and a much more fleshed out personality and backstory. She's Magneto's daughter and yet she joins the Avengers, and sure she had that House of M moment, but she was going through it at the time. Just. Comics Wanda, my beloved. Wolverine and the X-Men Wanda, my beloved. Please, let the other versions of Wanda weigh heavily in your hearts, and adopt her into the found family. She really needs it after everything she's gone through in movies and comics alike.

Hey! I love your work :) Could I please request something along the lines of 'insecurities' for the Silver Springs head cannons? Thanks either way <3
Thank you!!! I love this idea and mostly focused on earlier relationship stuff, but I definitely could see writing a 2nd or 3rd part too.
Insecurities pt. 1 (they have a lot 😢)
Warnings: angst, references to violence
(Wanda)
When Wanda met you, it didn’t take her long to realize how nice you were. You always said ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, and you refused to badmouth anyone unless they were truly terrible. Even then it was like pulling teeth. She’d seen how you never hesitated to offer someone help, and whenever the task was done, you’d never asked for anything in return.
Wanda loved this about you. She loved how you were so thoughtful and she wasn’t used to being around people like you. Given what she did for a living, the people who she interacted with weren’t nice as much as they were compliant or respectful due to their sense of obligation or fear. You weren’t like that. You offer something different that she really appreciates, and she wishes she could be the same way.
Before you really knew about what she did for a living, she’d always been afraid of scaring you away. Of course, the illegal aspect was a concern, but she was mostly worried about you seeing her differently. She isn’t the same person with you as she is with her employees or anyone else that she works with. She’d learned early on that she had to be tough to keep people’s loyalty, and sometimes even mean when people failed to meet her expectations. She didn’t make a habit of it, but she couldn’t say that she’d never hurt people to make a point, and she just knew that you wouldn’t be okay with this.
Needless to say, most of Wanda’s insecurities revolve around her job, but this was the earliest one. If you found out who she really was, and how she treated people when you weren’t around, she feared she would lose all of your respect.
For this reason, when you finally learned about her job, you both had agreed that the less you know, the better. You’d rather not have to fear that Wanda would be hurt all the time, and Wanda wants you to remain blissfully unaware of how cruel she could be.
Later in your relationship when you were kept busy in school, Wanda realized that you were often lonely. She wasn’t able to spend time with you very often because most of her work took place at night, and when she’d go a week or more without seeing you she always feared that you’d grow impatient.
You’d told her that you understand that her hours are horrible, but she knew that you wished to spend time with her either way. After a long day of classes and an afternoon of studying, you just wanted to curl up on the couch with her and watch a movie, or just relax. You got to do this maybe once a week, maybe once in two weeks. It wasn’t always the easiest, and sometimes you grew frustrated and you didn’t hide it well.
Especially on tough days, Wanda would hear in your voice how tired and disappointed you were, and it always made her feel guilty.
You deserved better than being lonely while you wait around for her to show up.
In those first few months, and even later in your relationship when things got really busy, she worried that you’d finally call it quits and find someone who could spend more time with you.
(Y/n)
You’ve never really felt like you were good enough to be with Wanda. Even before Vision came into the picture, the idea that this successful, beautiful, and secretly bashful woman wanted to be with you seemed comical. You weren’t exactly a slouch, but compared to her you feared you’d never measure up.
It took you at least a month to believe that Wanda really was interested in you for you, and not any other reason. You hadn’t really dated anyone before her, so everything was new and you honestly never thought you’d start at such a disadvantage.
Wanda seemed to always know what to say to make you smile. She could make you laugh like no one else could, and you felt comfortable with her. This was something that you weren’t sure you’d ever find as an introvert. Someone that you wanted to be around more than you wanted to be alone, and it was a little overwhelming.
You tried to follow her examples and put in the effort to make her happy, but sometimes you let yourself become intimidated. You liked Wanda a lot, but how long could you really humor the idea of being with her given your very different career trajectories?
Sometimes you overthought it to the point that you considered breaking up with her. You didn’t want to put her at risk or hold her back. When you first learned of how dangerous it could be for the two of you to be together, you’d considered calling it quits.
You didn’t want to because at that point you’d truly fallen head-over-heels in love with her, but was that really enough?
You’d taken a leap of faith and decided that the two of you could figure it out together. The two of you were good together and she loved you. She’d told you she did.
You were feeling good about your relationship for a while.
Then you met Vision. **
The very first time you’d visited the compound you ran into Vision and he made you feel insignificant within the first 30 seconds of talking to him. You’d begun to doubt your worth again to anyone, especially Wanda and you left feeling defeated.
You hadn’t wanted to bring it up with Wanda because you’d already discussed these feelings you had and she thought they were resolved. You’d hate to bring them back up and upset her, but the decision is taken away from you in the end.
Beyond feeling like you’re not good enough for Wanda, the more you learn about her job the more incapable you feel of taking care of her.
You know she’s tough and doesn’t need your help, but you wish you could offer it sometimes. Especially when she comes home a little worse for wear after a deal goes particularly poorly. The first time Wanda’s shot, you panic and ask Nat to teach you how to use a gun.
You want to be more prepared for whatever may come for both your and Wanda’s sake. You don’t want to be a liability if you can help it.
**I have a drabble planned for this unfortunate interaction

Spoiler for Wanda #8
Tumblr media
WHY THO
Didn't this stop being a problem in AoA?
Ok, technically AoA loki was a different person...until Defenders right? Like AoA loki was fully out of the timeline but then they did enter it. Aoa loki and Current god of outcasts loki are the same now. I kind of feel like post AoA loki stories give him issues that were kind of already solved?? The whole idea behind becoming god/dess of stories was to have control over their life. And even if you can define two different lokis (aoa and god of outcasts) wouldn't GoA loki be influenced by AoA lokis memories(? Perceptions? What) when aoa loki got back inside the current timeline? Why does loki have the same problems as last decade's with just a different wording? (Im not mad at the Wanda comic writer im mad at loki's characterization in past and current comics bacause im a picky bitch and it feels a bit stagnant to me)
Also this is just sad
Tumblr media
Context: this is a word fight using only the truth
In the comic about wandas healing and bettering? Really? We are similar but youll never reach my same bettering? What. Like i get it, the story has to go forward and hes just a random character appearance but it's still sad yk.
Being one's absolute true self is incredibly hard and implies a lot of work. Could loki do it? That's an interesting question. Don't answer it so easily.
Generally speaking, current loki feels a bit stagnant? Static? I want to see the differencies between 2019 loki and 2023 loki. Where is the growth? I want to see more of how they rule Jotunhiem. Does he understand his people? What is jotun culture? In the ongoing loki comic she gave them books about norse myths to learn how to read. How about specifically jotun myths? How does it feel to rule with a disconnect to the ppl you rule over? Does loki see his ppl through asgardian propaganda? Is he aware? How does he feel about that? Cmon give me something new.
Anyway hot people are doomed by the narrative (and deserve to be kissed)

i think a game of you should have gotten the netflix show spin-off instead of dead boy detectives. like yeah, for “marketing” or “logistical” reasons or whatever the fuck, i can see why the netflix team wouldn’t want to fit agoy in season two (reviews tanked when season one pivoted to focus on thee one and only rose walker, and there were complaints about “not enough morpheus.” which. lol. these people are weak and won’t survive reading the comics). i do not agree with that reasoning, but in the interest of not getting the show canceled, i can understand it. very begrudgingly.
but PLEASE. if netflix is OPEN to making a sandman spinoff…make that spinoff a game of you!!!!! for god’s sake!!! give wanda and barbie and foxglove and hazel the center stage! do their stories justice! they deserve so much better than just being treated as something you have to sit through until dream shows up again, which is how they would be treated if they took up a large part of sandman season two—and to tell agoy well it would be a hefty chunk, more than the doll’s house i would wager.

I came across THE ABSOLUTE BEST comment on an AO3 MCU fic!! The person who commented it even cited their sources proving what they were saying by turning part of the sentence into a link -- multiple times! Idk how to do that so I'll just leave a link to the original for anyone interested in those, and paste show off the comment here!
**Warning: Please mind the tags! Within the MCU you either hate this type of fic--and therefore comment--or you're still just a salty and full of rage as you were when it all first started going downhill in 2015. In other words: Civil War Team Iron Man.**
THE COMMENT (which was a reply to a hate comment about how "amazing" and "perfect" Captain America is):
"Yes, Steve Roger is all of those things. In the comics. 616 Steve can do things like defeat two other Super Soldiers when his Serum has been turned off. He's actually a Captain instead of it just being a stage name, due to, depending on the writer, either actually going to Officer School and blitzing through it, or receiving the equivalent of Officer School training while "on the job." In the comics, Steve Rogers earned his rank under the code name of Captain America, and his "secret identity" was that of the bumbling Private Rogers. MCU Cap actually is the bumbling Private Rogers, but is treated like a trained genius tactician undeservedly.
Comics Steve Rogers is also of far better moral character. He's the sort of person who would throw his shield to alter the trajectory of someone falling in order to avoid civilians being hurt. MCU Steve Rogers is never shown caring about the people hurt in Bucharest, and has no problems treating a German SWAT team the same way he did Crossbone's goons. When in the comics everyone finds out that it was Cap's evil Hydra clone who did all sorts of terrible things, Steve admits to HYDRA Cap that he's actually glad that, thanks to HYDRA Cap, people no longer trust him as much as they did in the past, as he's actually never been comfortable with people blindly trusting him or anyone else. MCU Steve demands that people blindly trust him to have their best intentions in mind. 616 Steve has enough willpower to break free of mind control straight away; MCU Steve got stuck in Wanda's illusions like everyone else.
Also, when 616 Tony isn't being written by stupid writers as a fascist, Steve is pretty much the founder and president of the Tony Stark Defence Squad. Anyone talks crap about him, Steve reminds them of how many people his tech and charity work has helped, and on a more personal level actually appreciates how much Tony has done for him instead of accepting it as his due for saving the world once a year.
Comics Steve is respected because he deserves it and has earned it; MCU Steve demands it like an angry toddler, claiming that he's a good man when in reality he's just not as big of an asshole as the Red Skull.
The sad part is, it would have been so easy to salvage Steve's character. Show him sending a coded message to JARVIS during WS, and later say Fury mention that Tony, even with his suits all blown up, was standing by to ensure that all the non-Hydra stuff was taken off the net so that no innocent SHIELD employees were hurt and no US secrets were leaked. About 5 seconds of footage.
Show him trying to contact Tony when Wanda talks crap about Ultron being just like him to prove her wrong, and getting concerned when there's no answer and heading back to Stark Tower just to be sure. Don't show him already be in the process of charging forwards and drawing back his fist to throw a punch at Tony before his chest piece ever arrives. Add two seconds of footage where Steve tiredly asks whether Tony can call another suit to pick him up from Siberia after their fight, and have that letter include an actual apology instead of Steve just trying to justify his actions. Give Wanda an actual redemption arc and have Steve feel like, even if she was HYDRA and people don't like her, she still deserves a chance to show she's not a monster like the Red Skull was. Show Wanda being horrified that the Hulk wandered into Johannesburg, and be reluctantly grateful to Tony that he stopped her from ultimately being responsible for the deaths that a rampaging Hulk would have caused.
Instead we have MCU Steve, who seems less and less heroic the more you think about his actions, and spoilt brat Wanda."

Preliminary Poll
Wanda Maximoff
Tumblr media
Submission reason:
Not written as Jewish or Romani and then utterly tanked in Multiverse of Madness :((
character assassination
My god, Multiverse of Madness was SUCH a mess. Wanda was turned into this completely illogical monster/madwoman with no regard to the consequences of her actions when the entire duration of her time in the MCU, she has been filled with grief when she has accidentally hurt people (such as in Civil War and Wandavision). Her entire personality and arc was taken away just for a fun horror movie with a protagonist just as immoral and hypocritical as they forced Wanda to be. She would not do those things!! Screw you, MoM writers!!!
A popular movie adaption (MCU) cast a white American Christian woman to play a rromani woman of colour who for most of her comic history was the daughter of two holocaust survivors, one Jewish. There was also House of M where she was made to commit genocide in a super ableist story arc.
Propaganda:
Wanda's supposed to this really cool and complex romani jewish witch who embraces her culture and gets all sorts of complex storylines and like. none of that is in the mcu canon :(
She deserved better than to be played by a white American woman who has dropped anti Romani slurs when describing her character and to be made into a scrapegoat or villain for the MCU or for X-Men comics.
She has super cool powers and is a hot milf <3
