"Let's Stick Together"-Fuse two materials with seamless binds.

Used to fix tears in fabrics and cuts

Can be used to bind someone to an object but the fusion will loosen with enough pulling

🩺-Vet!Yuu-Savanaclaw

"The Lion Sleeps Tonight"- Sedate a target into an instant coma or relieves pain. (Like laughing gas)

Used on unwilling patients and anyone being annoying

Necessary for Spelldrive when players sustain bad injuries that can't be fixed on the field.

🔫-Special Forces!Yuu- Scarabia

"Flower of Adversity"- Summons two weights, strength, and discipline that will attach themselves to the target. The weights are proportional to the target's negative attitude that the caster chooses.

The effect is dispelled if the target overcomes the flaw chosen

It won't work on people too dense to realize their flaws.

Yuu can't find the insecurity to target for the spell to work on Rook.

🌊- Marine Biologist!Yuu- Octavinelle

"Heart of the Sea"- Allows the user to move water no matter the depth.

Used to keep water out of boat and parting the literal sea. Mostly for researching Sea life

Yuu doesn't realize that they are a water bender and doesn't care.

🪶-Harpy!Yuu- Savanaclaw

"Mine!Mine!Mine!"- Give the user the ability to spot valuable objects through any barriers. The objects are highlighted with a sparkling glint.

Used to steal shiny objects.

Note: Kalim is shiny objects

🌷-Gardener!Yuu- Heartslabyul

"Golden Afternoon"- Causes plants to grow at an expositional rate.

Used to instantly get fruits and veggies ready to be harvested

Used to create walls of plants for defense.

🍴-Chef!Yuu- Heartslabyul

"Anyone can cook"- Summons small bag used as interdimensional storage with an unknown capacity. Used to store ingredients and cooking tools

Can store stuff other than food but Yuu has never considered that.

♨️-Onsen!Yuu- Octavinelle

"Be our Guest"- A soothing scent wafts in the air that causes people to relax and forget their worries.

Works like the Lotus Eaters from the Odyssey

The effect makes it impossible to focus on how much you're spending at the spa.

🌙-Celestial!Yuu- Diasomnia

They are a literal God! Do they really need more power?!

"A Dream is a Wish"- literally grants wishes but only wishes that are the heart's true desires. If the wish isn't clear then it won't come true.

Getting a wish is almost impossible unless you're Silver who never asks for one.

Lilia got one but only because he tricked Yuu. He wished to marry Yuu. Chad move.

🎮-Otaku!Yuu- Ignihyde

"Wildest Dreams"- create a digital simulation that creates lifelike holograms. The simulation can replica any fantasy experience the occupants desire. Functions as an isolated chamber for those inside.

The room can be used to trap people in a simulation of the caster's choosing. The target would need to be very observant to realize they are in a simulation and escape.

The room is soundproof and can used for desensitization for those who get overwhelmed (Idia)

🔮-(???)Yuu-Diasomnia

"Into the Woods"- creates a foggy mist that blankets the area. I mist causes disorientation and over time panic. The targets will become lost and travel in circles while trying to escape.

Yuu has no control over the mist. It follows them.

🎬-Theater kid!Yuu-Pomefiore

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"- A very simple spell despite how it sounds. It just makes it so you can remember rehearsed lines without a script and not stumble over words

Despite how it is used this spell is actually a memory spell. The user can use it to recall even the most deep seeded memories and test answers they studied.

⛓️- Disciplinary Committee!Yuu- New Ramshackle

"Chain the Beast"- Creates an anti-magic field that dispels all spells within the radius. Weakens users within to prevent further casting.

The spell is used to stop all fighting from students and disables them to be taken in by the discipline officers.

The spell is used rarely due to the taxing effect of Yuu which is why they rely on their officers to take over after the spell ends.

🧹-Maid!Yuu- Heartslabyul

"Whistle while you Work"- Animating objects to to do tasks like assisting in cleaning, cooking and dressing.

Very Disney princess meets Fantasia.

💎-Noble!Yuu-Pomefiore

"Mirror, Mirror"- Ask your reflection any question to find the secrets of others. They can even use it to watch other people.

A dangerous spell that Yuu uses to spy on others.

If Yuu uses the reflection of another person allows them to interrogate a target.

🪀-Toymaker!Yuu- Ignihyde

"No Strings"- The caster places a part of their being into an inanimate object and gives it the gift of life.

Yuu has only used this spell once to bring a doll they created to life. This became their little sister Dalia or Dolly.

Given its nature, the spell can't be cast more than a handful of times in a lifetime.

Alright, maybe staying in your room became too much.

Especially if you have love letters, hand-made school notes, flowers and now a flying mirror throwing you compliments all stuffed in your dusty Ramshakle room. The one place that is supposed to be a haven is now suffocating.

It's hard to digest this 'secret admirer'. All of this and all that they tell you is so flattering and so much. The majority of the students here are usually kind of pricks, like villains out of a fairytale book, so to have someone pour their heart out so unashamadly, even knocking Rook out of the park, is...shocking. Whenever they are brought up, it leaves you stumped.

You cannot deny the chaos they caused...after all these overblots, you thought the worst of the worst is over...but things at Night Raven College never seem to be still. You understand that others are upset and you don't want them to be upset...but what are you going to do? Find that admirer yourself so they can get their grande, over-the-top confession over with?

Fingers are vehemently and obsessively typing codes upon codes of the security doors - the new security doors that Idia just implemented.

AAAAAAA HE KNOWS HE IS NEXT

NO NO NO Idia is no fool. DO not take him for a FOOL! Each dorm was targeted and attacked one after another and he KNOWS he will be next!

He knows! He watched everything unfold online! Through the cameras! He counted the days on the calender! And well, he knows the majority from Ortho. The real MVP.

This is bad. BAD BAD BAD.

Some weirdo, self-proclaimed Chad Romeo is gonna barge into his dorm - or sabotage his scores - or destroy all his communication IRL - or GASP delete his steam library!

Whatever they may be, they are waaaaay over themselves! Going on some kind of Z like Zorro vengeance x romance anime genre and thinking they are the good guy.

Spoiler alert: If Idia and all he loves (his brother and his games) get hurt, YOU ARE NOT THE GOOD GUY!

Just let them give up on this weird escapade and have them confess already! Then he can be spared!

THEY BETTER GET THEMSELVES TOGETHER, OH SO ROMANITC SECRET ADMIRER, AND HAVE THEM CONFESS TO YOU ALREADY!!!!!111211!!

That's actually not something Idia wants.

It was just a sudden brain blast idea. If the admirer just gets their confession, then surely Idia and his dorm will be spared (because he is sure he'll be next! I mean, the order is so??? obvious???) - but if they do confess...you might accept...

In fact, Idia doesn't want anyone to confess to you in the first place at all.

Not even himself!

Uh, n-n-n-not that...he wants to c-c-c-c-c-confess to you, or anything...

FML this is hard

He is sharpening up security left and right and imploring Ortho for some kind of advice on what to do. Idia is too panicked to make a decision.

The dormhead is certain he will at least get humiliated, his one weakness! If not, then surely something worse is going to happen...

Sure, he did awful things before and during his, er, overblot but ngl hasn't everyone? Why can't the admirer just skip him like an event?

Leave him alone and just focus on their goal...which is you.

The solution is right there - have the admirer confess to you already. Idia can even lend a hand with his tech-geek knowledge!

But it feels so wrong. The jealously and pettiness is eating him up, causing him to hesitate.

Idia is imagining what it would be like if you said 'yes' to a normie...and it just gives him more reasons to shut himself in.

The thought of failing to seize the moment leaves a black hole in his stomach...he's both scared, paranoid, jealous and upset.

He is just one click away from making a choice...and maybe he should try being risky for once...

Ortho Shroud

Very not against you having a secret admirer! Even when they are being very bold!

Even Ortho notes how unusually determined this admirer is. Isn't distance adoration supposed to be more delicate and...not happen so often? It's been almost a month and everybody's talking about the admirer and their anitcs! Not very "secretive" if you ask him.

It is none of his business...if it weren't for his dear big brother!

Ortho can see through him as if he were glass. It is beyond obvious on how he feels about you and your admirer. If only he wouldn't shut himself in so often and for such a long time, literally everyone could realize his deep feelings for you. And Ortho wants to do nothing but help his brother.

Hence he was so uncertain when Idia kept on asking him to tail the admirer - so far so that they were able to track them and find out who they are.

He keeps on tabs - while Idia keeps on fighting himself on what to do. It goes on and on in circles until someone decides on something.

The robot boy grows worried...and asks his brother to follow his heart rather his fear.

Well, this is strange.

Why on earth are there signs and trinkets wanting to lead you to a path as if you were lost? What is this, Hensel and Gretel?

You'd have long chucked it up as a bad attempt as a joke but all the signs were actually...holograms hovering near the walls. Only nerds or Ignihyde students would be smart enough to be able to create such things but they are also too chill to even think up any jokes. Besides, the path seems to lead to the spring, a public space. Why should anyone want to lead anyone to a usually crowded place such as that?

Peculiar that only you are here to see the holograms, too.

Certainly nothing too outrageous would happen and you'd make sure to keep your distance as you made your way there. In fact, once you came close enough (by hiding behind a pillar, you aren't taking your chances) you could make out a lone figure sitting on the spring. They seemed to hold something rather big in their hands...

This...couldn't be it, could it? The destination is a person?

You cautiously approach...only for a blue light to blind you.

Ortho Shroud

You winced as you took a few steps back, hissing like a cat.

The light dimmed down siginificantly and a figure was a bit too close for your liking.

"So sorry, Prefect!"

You blink and your vision cleared. It was Ortho!

You ask him about what he's doing here and the many holograms around. He avoids each question, pointing out how there are no holograms, what are you talking about?

He didn't almost barge into you, he was practicing bis new, updated gear! What are you talking about?

And no, you did not hear a yelp. What are you talking about?

You lean to the side, peeking to the left of the robot boy. He still tries to get your attention on him.

The silhouette is gone...

Oh god WHAT HAS HE DONE?

The good thing...? The right call...?

How is he supposed to know? Panicking while typing away and suddenly gritting his teeth and cancelling all of this!

Just a moment ago he was so diligently planning everything...the signs, the locations, making sure there would be no one but you two...

Just you two at the spring...three special words and Idia would no longer have to cower in anguish...

He sucked in a cold breath, as if his entire room was a hallway of death.

"Aaahhugh, damn it!"

Keyboards are swept aside as his hands bash against the screen in attempts to open up another tab.

"Screw this make-believe date! Screw this confession trope! It never works anyway and you always have to wait for the next episode ONLY FOR SOMEONE TO INTERRUPT IT ALL AND THAT CHARACTER WILL BE ME!"

Fingers aggressively tap on one word over and over again. Cancel.

"I'm nothing much but I'm not gonna be so STUPID to HELP MY RIVAL get the MC! That's self-sabotage and wallowing in pity times 100! No, 'secret admireeeeer', you will NOT get with the Prefect and maybe I will not but some overconfident, extroverted romantic-schmantic romeo is definitely NOT gonna be THE CHOSEN ONE!!!"

Idia keeps on tapping and prattling. Cancel. Cancel. Cancel.

Alas, the panic in his voice moprhed to petty anger.

He knows who they are, which dorm they are from. If anything were to happen to him or Ortho, at least he got some info...

Giddy over the advantage, the dormleader barely noticed that he was on speaker...

A message was quickly sent to him and he stops, gulping down his fear.

Ignihyde might not be spared as he wanted it to be but for once Idia followed his stupid, foolish, love-struck heart...and he feels a bit less immediate regret than usual.

[yeaaaaa Ignihyde wasnt much, there is only...1 person honestly. Ortho is like...middle schooler weenie-hut junior edition he gets no say in anything regarding love. He only loves his brother! Does anything for his big bro (>‿♥) Idia is such a shut-in that you cannot put him in many scenarios anyway...but i like the thought of him freaking out :) ]

The crowd laughed this girl was very indecisive.

Then Yuu sneezed. The crowd blessed them.

"I am in love with another!"

The crowd wondered who it was.

"Who is this man?"

They watched the two talk.

"He. Is. You. I love you!"

"MARRY ME REBECCA!"

Yuu didn't give the crowd a chance to react.

"No."

The crowd gasped again.

They looked most of them on the edge of their seats.

"THAT BITCH!" Some one yelled but was shushed even thought they all agreed.

"CHAD?? ILL KILL HIM WHEN I FIND HIM!"

Ooo drama Azul thought.

"OR HE WILL FIND YOU!"

The crowd gasped again.

"CHAD!?!?!"

They looked as he bagan to speak.

"The mysterious wedding has been our wedding all along me and Rebecca will be wed at the wedding today! You are not invited!"

This play was giving them so many whiplash from all the drama and emotions.

"Will you be my best man?"

Now he was asking his brother who is in love with his wife to eh the best man?

"Of course brother! I hate you so much!"

HE AGREED?!?!?

Wow he dipped out fast Ruggie thought.

The crowd began to tear up.

TWST LANGUAGE THEORY

So we all know that everyone in the game officially speaks Japanese but what if there's more to it?

In our knowledge of the game that everyone speaks Japanese and a only Took speaks French, but what if Japanese in TWST is a nation language that everyone has to learn in order to communicate to the other parts 9f the world like I'm writing in English because if I wrote in norwegian or hungarian you guys wouldn't really understand it, and the same thing is in TWST except it's Japanese the language instead of english.

My point is that everyone speaks a different language too other than Japanese and Rook had learned French too because why not because he was born in the Afterglow Savannah so that means he knows 1 African language when he is home in the Afterglow Savannah.

Other thing, Vil has a German name pointing that the Shaftland's offical language is German and Jack and Vil are both from the Shaftland so they both know german.

Moving onto other character and guessing what language could they speak.

So, that we know if the Briar Valley that "its a country with many hills, every day is a leg day" and this sentence is said by Lilia on the home screen if you tap him in his gym uniform (the sentence is not quote on quote) .

Stating that the Briar Valley is is geographically maybe positioned like:

2022 Omniverse Rewatch + Episode Ranking

Part 2: Arc 2

assorted thoughts/observations:

So do you think that when the Omnitrix recalibrated in Alien Force, that Ben did try and see if the failsafe was only for the original version/if Feedback was one of his new aliens?

Also I like that this series added Ben meeting Azmuth more times in between Secret of the Omnitrix and Alien Force season 2

Yeah, Gwen’s new look looks way better than her look in the first episode

You can tell that Gwen and Kevin are just happy to see him

“just replace Vilgax with a pompous art-history professor” named Xagliv, right?

I like that they emphasized the “transformer” thing

Rook and Kevin’s friendship is very underrated

Gwen reading during her vacation is a mood for me when I was in college. Also as someone who did take college classes when she was in high school, around when these episodes were coming out actually, I can relate even more.

Ooh, someone from Pesky Dust’s species in the background

Kevin secretly being engaged when he was younger explains why his and Gwen’s relationship wasn’t really defined I think

AU where Devlin was Kevin and Looma’s kid

I really like Gwen in this episode so far, she’s very reasonable

Okay that moment is still kind of weird? Like I still don’t really get why she reacted that way

Why would Ben say “you and what army” to a Tetramand, of all people?

If I had a nickel every time that Kimberly Brooks played an alien princess, I’d have two nickels. That’s not a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

I think this is Bumper Robinson as the radio voice? He sounds like this series’s version of Doc Saturday. Also yeah, the robots from Dimension 12 come back later.

Wait, is that from the show Rook likes, or actual news?

Those fish sound terrifying.

I prefer Jury Rigg fully clothed.

I really do like this look for Diamondhead, it works for him

So this villain is like Brainiac but not scary or cool, and with boats instead of cities or planets.

Would still love a fic about Malware and Khyber and what they did while he was gone

The Omnitrix has failed plenty of times and you know it.

Pyronite Psyphon and Mechamorph Fistina do look cool.

So how do they know him exactly?

Also how does Ben know those aliens’ weaknesses, I don’t think they’ve ever been used against him before

He literally turns into the chad version of whatever species it is

Hey, Malware, you did say Tennyson was inconsequential, so really what did you expect him to do?

And they certainly will worry about number 23 later

The Omnitrix is being extremely nice to Ben this episode, giving him two of his heavy hitters

But maps still exist, don’t they?

Ben is very considerate.

@justmenoworries recently did a rewrite of the Malware arc, proposing that this be a Malware-centric flashback instead, and I’m all for that, I wish that had been the case

Still can’t tell if that’s Corey or not. Okay, wiki has him credited as “Alarm” in addition to voicing Malware, Brainstorm, and a Plumber, so it’s finally confirmed that it is actually him I’d say.

Fittingly enough, Malware is kind of both a giant robot and a monster tentacle thing

So what he’s doing here is kind of staged too, since he’s just the distraction. Interesting.

Ben realizes that that Malware glob could have touched the Omnitrix, right?

If it’s a weapon of last resort, why did Max use it?

Goddamn I love his voice so much, I’ll never get tired of it

Did he really drain Feedback to an empty shell?

Ben is smart again this episode, it’s nice to see

Hey so how did Malware get out of the Plumber base in the flashback

And we get our first view of Billions tower!

I love that two of the people who are most often angry at him are front and center in the crowd, showing their appreciation to him

And did we ever find out what Khyber’s reasons are?

I don’t remember why he did that to the truck, exactly

Has Dee Bradley Baker played Starscream yet? Because he’d do a good Starscream.

Bold of Rook to suggest Ben would get his hands dirty, because there’s literally an episode set on a farm where he does everything in his power to avoid that

So how cool would it have been to keep Feedback out of the opening except on young Ben’s side, and then add him to present Ben’s side after Showdown part 2? Unless they did that and I just forgot about it

What exactly is a tesser-burst?

Ben, you’re such an idiot (sometimes affectionate)

If that’s a back scratcher, why is it at the table to begin with?

Yeah, that’s definitely the one we see in Collect This

How many shows does Ben have?

Like, how well would they be able to deal with this whole thing if Ben and Rook weren’t there?

Also I appreciate that Rook’s family is all voiced by non-white actors! (specifically, Alanna Ubach, who’s Mexican/Puerto Rican, Kimberly Brooks, who’s African-American, Eric Bauza, who’s Filipino-Canadian, and of course Bumper Robinson himself, who’s also African-American)

Man. It would have been real interesting to see Max and Gwen’s reactions to Malware coming back to life, seeing as how they saw him blow up too. And of course also Azmuth reacting to the same, as Malware is his son.

Wait, could Gwen have sensed Malware’s mana? Do Mechamorphs have mana?

God. Malware was imprisoned on his fucking home planet, waiting for Azmuth, unable to interact with his society because his touch was poisonous to them.

How long was he there?

It would’ve been real neat to get stuff from his point of view, in general

Oh yeah, these are those same robots from that one Ultimate Alien episode, right?

How many fanboys has Ben dealt with?

He has multiple people who would count as his nemesis and/or destroyer, I think.

Uh, they just cut a fuckin’ building in half.

So did Billy know Ben’s secret?

Also why would he not be famous as a kid as well as a teenager? I mean, Ben 23’s famous and he’s like 13

Okay, so it is “fluke”. I never quite understood what they said until I saw this episode with captions.

So how does that Mechamorph have something that looks like a flashlight on their arm cannon?

Just gonna paste my text post from I think earlier this year here: also you know what’s interesting about showdown part 1? so in the intro, you get Psychobos speaking first, then Khyber, then Malware. All three of them get a line each.

and then in the rest of the episode, there are two times someone asks “Malware?”

The first time (when the Galvan museum is locked down, trapping Azmuth inside), Psychobos answers, and the second, we don’t get a spoken answer, but we see that Khyber has taken the Nemetrix but left his dog behind.

The third actually comes in the beginning of showdown part 2, when basically someone asks “Malware?” and the answer is finally yes.

Hey, you said you were an open book, Ben.

Did the Plumbers keep track of that or something?

Most of your aliens are awesome and cool, Ben.

Wait, so does Rook think this is an Alien X type of situation

Heatblast’s look in this series is still very cool, I think.

So where was Malware during this? Like, he was on Galvan B five minutes before the end of this episode, but right here, was he just waiting on the ship?

It only took weeks to create the Nemetrix, really? Even then, that was only because he had a partial blueprint of the Omnitrix.

I know I dunk on Azmuth a lot for being a terrible father, but yeah, he is very smart and I appreciate that.

And this isn’t the first time he’s been trapped in an arena of sorts, nor is it the only time he will be.

I thought he was immune to Hypnotick? Unless whatever it uses coming from a different place makes the hypnosis and whatnot stronger this time.

Poor Zed, man.

So did Azmuth add that DNA sample to the Nemetrix, or did Khyber already have it and Azmuth just unlocked it somehow?

Oh wait, I guess Rook didn’t know that. But hadn’t Ben already known that Khyber and Malware were working together?

Gosh, I really like the way Corey says “creation”

So did Ben think that the Omnitrix was broken forever because Malware destroyed Feedback?

Like just the original Omnitrix, or this new one too?

So where are these Mechamorphs flying in from?

I guess Malware just killed them all

Man. Imagine how it must feel for him, coming back to his home, and specifically the device that made him, and using it to get revenge on his father and destroy the beings who he thought didn’t deserve Azmuth’s attention as much as Malware did.

Also how powerful is his eye beam, I guess, to be able to activate explosions all over Galvan B? I still don’t really know how that worked.

I like that they showed Zed escaping, that’s nice

Also Ben just shoves Rook off that thing, I don’t think he deserved that

I still remember every word of this conversation too, thanks.

So I always thought it was “favorite”, but according to the captions it’s “favored”? Interesting.

And the word “father” isn’t in quotation marks here.

I hate that this is canon justification for that one fic, you know the one

And what does Malware taste like, Ben?

I don’t know what they’re talking about, it would be really cool to see an AU where Malware did win and become a living planet

Also “viral attack” my dude, you named him MALWARE, you had this coming!

I like that they used the word “shockwave” to describe what he caused, because of one of Corey’s other most famous roles.

I’m still bitter that they didn’t have Kevin learn more about Malware, and be sympathetic to him.

Why is pocket change the solution for everything?

Again, he emphasizes Ben’s loyalty to Azmuth, which is interesting

If anyone knows about any interviews where Corey talks about Malware or anything involving him working on the show, please let me know about it.

So did Ben literally repress all these memories until now?

Fuck. This is still so good. God, the look on tiny Ben’s face.

So that is the representation of Feedback’s DNA inside Malware, I guess.

Gosh, you can see Chadzmuth running away. Also, ray of doom, motherfuckers.

Feedback popping out of Malware’s head like Athena, ready to wreck a bitch

Once more, Azmuth literally encouraged Ben to use the Helixes to kill his child.

Literally, Ben: “Are we really going to let him keep that?” (referring to Zed), Gwen: “We kept Kevin.”

Also I don’t remember where I said this, or if I ever put it on Tumblr, but I remember writing something at some point about Malware’s team being a dark mirror of Ben’s in a way, with Zed as the Ben equivalent, Khyber as the Rook equivalent, Psychobos as the Gwen equivalent, and Malware as the Kevin equivalent, and that being interesting that these four show up specifically when Ben is without Gwen and Kevin, and just getting used to having Rook around, and I just think that would’ve been really rad if they had gotten to face off all together. Even though I do enjoy how the Showdown two-parter went down in general.

Basic thoughts: Yeah, you can tell that the arc plot is the best part of this season for me personally, and the rest is fine? I think Gone Fishin’ is the only real filler episode here, because the rest do have characters and whatnot that come back later. Again, bottom 3 are still the same, Arrested Development and Bros in Space are both good plot-wise but have annoying villains, I’m not sure what made me not like Many Happy Returns as much as I used to but yeah that one’s lower than it was when I first saw it. And of course, even after watching it many times, I still love the Malware story, even if I think it could’ve been handled a lot better in retrospect.
