The Lost Bookshop
By: Evie Woods
On a quiet street in Dublin, a lost bookshop is waiting to be found…
For too long, Opaline, Martha and Henry have been the side characters in their own lives.
But when a vanishing bookshop casts its spell, these three unsuspecting strangers will discover that their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. And by unlocking the secrets of the shelves, they find themselves transported to a world of wonder… where nothing is as it seems.
The Keeper of Stories meets The Lost Apothecary in this evocative and charming novel full of mystery and secrets.
‘The thing about books,’ she said, ‘is that they help you to imagine a life bigger and better than you could ever dream of.’

Read my mom's books
She is writing Christian (Presence of Christianity; Christians; no profanity) vampire books. I enjoy them. Some vampire lore from here:
Vampires don't have to kill people. They can hypnotize people, take some blood, and seal the bite wounds back up. Young vampires are a lot of trouble. They are weaker and have to drink blood more often. As they age they don't need as much blood; sunlight hurts them less. At around 80 years of age, they develop a power, such as telekinesis, illusions, fire starting by thinking it, super speed, strength; jumps, invisibility, mind reading, intangibility, perfect memory, turning into an animal besides a bat, etc. The power grows stronger with age. The power they get usually has something to do with something they want during their mortal life. Yes, they can turn into bats but they are more easily killed and can't use their power during this. Are hurt by garlic; can break and enter homes without permission. During the day they like to sleep upside down to make their blood circulate a bit, by locking their ankle joints hanging on poles. Vampires usually live in small territorial groups. They can interact with humans by using makeup to cover their pale skin, and by learning how to open their mouths without revealing their fangs. A new vampire is made by forcing a human to drink some of their blood. A stake in the heart does not kill them. It only injures them and makes them unconscious. One has to drag the vampire into the sunlight to burn it up to kill them. An injured vampire is extra dangerous because they can't control their hunger as well.
There are multiple series with a few books each, following different vampires. Sometimes they interact with another. The main one has the most books, and each one in this series includes them having an animal companion for each book. She's working on a series finale that brings everyone we've been following in the multiple series together.
The cover graphics on each book are home made on the computer, so they don't look the most professional, and we don't seem to be that good at thinking up title names. But I like the stories.
There is fun violence with different vampires and vampire hunters,
and also some humor scattered about. A silly thing in one book is a vampire that works as a firefighter and discovered he can go outside during the day if he wears the fire suit. So he just wears it all day and takes naps throughout the day. His co-workers think he's weird. Another is unintentional, but there's a vampire named Lola with super jump powers, and my mom is unaware of Lola Bunny. There's a fight with an obnoxious sound illusion vampire that used to be a court jester - my idea. Something that sounds unhinged out of context, is telling a doggy in That Voice, "are you ready to go for a ride down the drain?" This vampire has the power to turn himself and others into water and move around that way, and needed to escape with his dog down a sink drain. Another from the same book, which is not out yet; I'm helping go over it, is the same vampire telling a vampire hunter that his friends have already been taken care of, so he runs terrified to go find them, and the other vampire just, called the police on the people trying to kill them. The police don't know they are vampires. Such a dumb way to stop vampire hunters, I love it.
Link to Night Kingdom book 1; you can read a sample of it:

Freelance Reflections #117
Things have picked up again and I thought I’d start by reflecting on my resolutions so far. I’m not doing perfectly, but the one I am really pleased with is the social media one as I thought it would be really difficult, but I’m really enjoying not going on it and keeping it to just a specific time. The ones I’m finding more difficult are putting things back where they belong (currently a bunch…

Lesson Learned for Journaling
Use hard cover books so I can more easily write in bed or any other area than a desk -- IF the goal is to more conveniently journal.
For something like study materials, hard cover may not matter much cuz typically we study at a desk. May still try to go for hard cover if showcasing in bookcase in nice format. Often not the case however.
What else lifehacks have you learned?

Been proof reading my mom's vampire books series finale, and it is bonkers. Its great.
In one bit a character walks up to someone, tells them a news of interest, then leaves. Then I saw my mom, went up to tell her something, then left to continue reading. Then I realized. That's some accurate autistic representation right there lol.
And I love the funny bits. One without getting really into spoiler territory is using a silly trope. *Chaos; screams happening outside* oh I guess thats within reason for noise at a fair. *Continues calmly looking at the crocodile exhibit.*
This book is longer than the others and brings together the characters from her multiple short vampire series. The different names of the series are like Night Missions, Night Battles, Night City, etc; all start with Night. So maybe as a whole we can call the seriess Night Activities? The book also dispenses major lore.
They are good Christian books. Her author name is Iris Fields and you can get her books from Amazon if anyone's interested.
