do you have any galadriel brainrot rattling around that you want to share? I'm especially fascinated by any/all galadriel & maglor ideas either in the third age, or otherwise...chiefly bc of your portrayal of them in "the final verse" is so interesting ...Or just, brainrot in general? Always love hearing your takes on things <3 <3 <3
Always.
If I'm focusing on her relationship with Maglor however, I think it may be funny to share that I don't think Galadriel likes Maglor much at all, but rather pities him. He is, arguably, the most wretched elf alive by the end of things, and a decent reflection of what she could have been had she made different, probably tempting choices in her life. Maglor chose something over goodness (whether that was family, pride, loyalty, or whatever, it kind of depends on your reading of him, but whatever it was, he prioritized that thing over being a decent person), while Galadriel was faced with the choice of her ambition and pride over goodness - and in her case, where it mattered, she chose right. She knows how that temptation can feel, however, and I would imagine that Maglor (and Maedhros, back when he was around) were and are very personal cautionary examples of where personal desire can lead when not tempered by wisdom and care.
You know, I like to think that it would be Galadriel to drag Maglor back to Valinor? Not because she likes him, or because she thinks he deserves it, but because my picture of Galadriel is someone who has seen so many loose ends left untied, between Morgoth's escape, the Valar leaving Middle Earth and its people in the lurch of Morgoth's hatred and warring, and the aftermath of the War of Wrath (e.g. Sauron was left unaccounted for, enabling all of the sorrow to come). Leaving Maglor behind means that the story isn't done, the elves will never fully leave, he'll just fade away into a vague sea-voice, an unending, quavering note, held past the point of breaking, never finished. I think that, where Elrond would honor Maglor's grief and choice, Galadriel would be just unimpressed and impatient with it all. "No, we're not doing this again, get on the damn boat. Mourn in Lorien if you must, but I'll be damned again before I leave you here."
I think it also stems from the idea that, by the end of the third age, I think Galadriel is tired of almost everything, tired enough that old grudges - however deserved - are just not worth clinging to. He's done awful things, but depending on how you read her, hasn't Galadriel also? She's either a bit player in the Silmarillion or she abandoned her family entirely - for someone so skilled, and who later (in her fading years) demonstrates such will and power, it implies a personal history of just generally keeping her hands off. And if she was hands-on, then she failed like everyone else. She's connected to everything intimately, so no matter the reading, there's pain and failure there. Maglor has obviously done more, but understanding doesn't come from equivalence, it comes from kinship.
And, I think the last reason she'd do it, is because Galadriel almost certainly knew Nerdanel. After having to endure Celebrian's situation, after Luthien's departure (and presumably the grief that caused Melian), and now having to face telling Celebrian that she'll never see Arwen again, I don't think Galadriel would just accept Maglor's self-imposed exile knowing it would harm Nerdanel as well. It would be one last, unnecessary tragedy to pile onto an exorbitant pile (and, in my headcanons of Galadriel's history, I like to imagine that she and Nerdanel had a connection of friendship for various reasons). There's a whole sub-narrative about mothers having to just accept the loss of their daughters in the Silmarillion (Earwen joins the list, and Anaire, and--), and if Galadriel has shown anything, it's that she strongly defies convention.

it is in my humble opinion that in a demigod child situation, Dick Grayson would be either a child of Ares, Athena, or Aphrodite. Athena and Aphrodite are pretty obvious, he's smart and he's charming and he's bloody terrifying. but Ares. Oh Boy Do I Love That Guy and here is why.
modern media portrays Ares as a misogynistic asshole. this is just untrue. Ares is the only male Olympian without a history of SA and in fact adores & respects women. he is the father of the Amazons and has the title "the god feasted by women" Dick Grayson (apparently) is perceived as a womanizer and cheater. That Is Not True At All. he loves and respects women.
Ares is often portrayed as being a force of nature, uncaring of the law. that is also false. he's also the god of rebellion and civil order, an ally of Themis, the goddess of justice Dick Grayson, yes he can be a feral little shite (and i say this with full adoration), he's still a police and stands for the people, he brings justice in both his day and night job
there's a common conception that Ares is a meatheaded guy who only likes war and violence. once again, untrue. you need strategy for war, Ares simply represents the brutal aspects of war but he's still a smart guy as seen with the Romans adopting Ares into Mars. not to mention, Ares understands that in war there are winners and losers Dick Grayson is often seen as ditzy or less smart than his siblings (especially Tim) when in reality he's a very capable and smart guy who understands that loss happens at times
Ares cares about his family, especially his mother. when two giants threatened his mother, Hera, he was the first to fight for her. i don't need to talk about how much Dick cares for his family right? i'll admit though, this point is less polished than the rest
as much as i love the PJO series, i HATE their characterization of Ares being a crappy dad. the reality is that he disobeyed Zeus to avenge his children in the Trojan War. he committed murder and was sentenced to trial for his daughter. The Amazonian Warriors. he may not be the best at affection but he's a caring dad Dick Grayson is not the perfect brother/mentor/father figure but he's trying and doing his best goddamnit. i'm sick of people saying he's not
anger is an essential part to Ares. anger is an essential part to Dick Grayson
there's a common portrayal of Ares and Aphrodite where Ares treats Aphrodite like shite. let's be honest, the goddess of love (a war goddess, by the way if you look up Aphrodite Areia) would not let herself be treated poorly. my personal belief on why this portrayal exists lies with the whole Hephaestus debacle in which i believe Hephaestus was the crap guy here but that's another topic i'd discuss with another shot I Do Not Care What You Say, Starfire and Nightwing Are Not The Shitty Relationship You Think They Are
in (i think) two different stories, it's shown that Ares can dance. it makes sense. footwork is important in battle. footwork is important in acrobatics. Dick Grayson knows what he's doing
in many myths, Ares is treated like crap by his siblings and although this is another half baked point, i feel like it's a bit common for Dick Grayson to be treated like crap by his loved ones
i love Ares and i love Dick Grayson and sadly they both have poor representation in mass media. thank you for listening, i am so fucking tipsy (maybe drunk actually) right now.
damn.

A lot of people won't like hearing this, but the meat industry is terrible for this planet.
Last weekend, Elon Musk posted one of his more outrageously false tweets to date: “Important to note that what happens on Earth’s surface (eg farming) has no meaningful impact on climate change.” Musk was, as he has been from time to time, wrong. As climate experts rushed to emphasize, farming actually accounts for around a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Musk spewing disinformation is not exactly news. But even by his standards, his contention regarding livestock agriculture and climate was on a par with George Santos's fantasies.
The tens of billions of chickens, pigs, cows, and other animals we raise and slaughter for food annually account for around 15 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, primarily from cow burps, animal manure, and the fertilizer used to grow the corn and soy they eat. More than one-third of the Earth’s habitable land is used for animal farming — much of it cleared for cattle grazing and growing all thatcorn and soy — making animal agriculture the leading cause of deforestation and biodiversity loss globally. Deforestation causes emissions itself, but it also represents a missed opportunity to sequester carbon. If that land were “rewilded,” or retired as farmland, it would act as a carbon sink, sucking massive amounts of climate-warming carbon out of the atmosphere. But we keep clearing more and more forestland, especially in the Amazon rainforest and elsewhere in the tropics, mostly for beef, pork, and poultry.
Yep, livestock grazing accounts for almost a third of our usable land.
Tumblr media
The message regarding livestock agriculture just isn't getting out.
Madre Brava also conducted a media analysis that found that between 2020 and 2022, less than 0.5 percent of stories about climate change by leading news outlets in the US, the United Kingdom, and Europe mentioned meat or livestock. Last month, two groups that work on issues related to animal agriculture — Sentient Media and Faunalytics — published an analysis with similar findings. The organizations looked at the 100 most recent climate change stories from each of the top 10 US media outlets, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and CNN, and found that 7 percent mentioned animal agriculture. Of that 7 percent, most only discussed how climate change-fueled weather events like droughts, floods, and heatwaves impact animal farmers. “Across the 1,000 articles we examined, only a handful of stories reported in depth on the connection between consuming animal products and climate change,” the researchers wrote. The media is an easy target, and some criticism is deserved — it’s a disservice to readers to largely ignore a leading cause of the climate crisis. Part of the problem is that the media, like everyone else, operates in an information environment in which the meat lobby downplays and in some cases suppresses the full extent to which burgers, ribs, and chicken nuggets pollute the planet. But journalists could be doing more to cut through the noise.
We need to speak up more ourselves. Entrenched interests and powerful lobbying groups are not shy about promoting livestock businesses which harm the planet.
The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the industry’s leading lobby group, runs a “climate messaging machine,” food journalist Joe Fassler recently wrote in the Guardian, that trains influencers to confuse the public and downplay beef’s emissions. The list goes on. Last year, leaked documents showed that delegates from Brazil and Argentina successfully lobbied the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to remove any mention of meat’s negative impact on the environment, or recommendations for people in rich countries to reduce their meat consumption, in its recent report. Meat giant Tyson Foods spends a much bigger share of its revenue than ExxonMobil lobbying Congress to stop climate policy. Outside the animal rights movement, there aren’t many voices pushing back against these narratives. The US environmental movement has largely shied away from campaigning to reduce meat and dairy production, with some leaders outright rejecting the notion that we need to eat fewer animals. Policymakers largely avoid the issue too.
We have a lot of catching up to do – and fast.
“The food conversation is probably about 20 years behind the energy conversation, and it is catching up, but it’s not visceral to people in the way energy is — that they immediately know energy is a climate issue,” said Michael Grunwald, a food and agriculture columnist for Canary Media, in the Sentient Media panel discussion. But time is in short supply. Experts say that if we don’t change what we eat — especially reducing beef and dairy — we can’t meet the Paris climate agreement of limiting global warming to 2 degrees Celsius or less.
In addition to publicizing the issue, we can lead by example. Eating less meat or even no meat lets people know we're serious about what we're saying.
There will be pushback from the industry and also from populist blowhards. We can imagine at least one saying something like: "Hunter Biden wants to steal your double cheeseburger. SAD!"
But no discussion of carbon emissions is complete without talk of livestock agriculture and its effects.

Dreams, Alternate Realities, and Agency
In Mulder's dreams or nightmares-come-to-life, he is stripped of his agency: "I had one chance," he grieves in Herrenvolk, "and I let it slip away." His obsessive pursuit for answers is directly correlated to his helplessness during his sister's abduction; and continues to haunt him as he battles against the Consortium.
"She's crying out for help-- but I can't help her. I can't move."
Tumblr media
"I dreamt I was swimming this pool, and I could see my father underwater. But when I dove down, the water stung my eyes.... And I had to leave. I couldn't find my father."
Tumblr media
"I'm beginning to wonder if... if that ever even happened."
Tumblr media
"Well, I've often felt that dreams are answers to questions we haven't yet figured out how to ask."
Tumblr media
"We do what we can to battle the evil that would otherwise destroy us. But if a man's character is his faith, this fight is not a choice, but a calling."
Tumblr media
"At times, I almost dream."
Tumblr media
"Fox, help me! Help me!"
Tumblr media
"Mulder, make her stop. I can't help myself."
Tumblr media
"You have to help me! You have to get me out of here! Please! You have to help me. Help me-- please help me."
Tumblr media
"...the deja vu phenomenon could be repressed memories escaping the unconscious that represents the desire to, uh, have a second chance."
Tumblr media
"Scully, I was like you once. I didn't know who to trust.... The end of my world was unrecognizable and upside down. There was one thing that remained the same: you were my friend, and you told me the truth."
Tumblr media
"Stay where you are!"
Tumblr media
"Did I say that? I didn't say that!"
Tumblr media
His quest, his fight, is why he can't stop and live "a normal life"-- not until that part of himself is reclaimed.
Tumblr media
It's why moments where Mulder actively chooses to "remain with you" (via The Blessing Way and Amor Fati) are so important to his character: he can choose, often aided by Scully's belief in him.
Scully is a pivotal piece to his life because Mulder depends on her capability and support-- to take care of herself and to trust in him-- in order to do his work; but more specifically, to soothe his own worries that he'll fail her, too (which is why he kept nearly falling apart whenever she was in danger.) And he continually rewards that faith by accomplishing Herculean tasks to get back to her side.
Tumblr media
In Scully's dreams, she fails despite her agency. While Mulder is "called" to his mission, called to answer those questions that he can't escape even in his sleep, Scully is forced to confront them-- and herself-- when pulled in by prophecies, divinations, and cries for help.
It's why the events of Irresistible, Emily, and Orison hit her hard: they were, she considered, a self-fulfilling cycle of success and failure.
"I'll believe you... if you let me... let me talk to him."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I'm fine, Mulder."
Tumblr media
"There are hits and there are misses. And then there are misses."
Tumblr media
"Well, see, it just makes me afraid.... Afraid that God is speaking... but that no one's listening."
Tumblr media
"Facing a truth I can no longer deny. Alone, as ever."
Tumblr media
"Mommy, let me go. Mommy, please, let me go."
Tumblr media
"He cornered me today and told me my life's story. He was kind of frightening, actually."
Tumblr media
"The only reason why you're alive is because I asked the judge for life!"
Tumblr media
Mulder's quest makes her afraid: Scully is reminded of her human frailty, of the fallible nature of her beliefs, of the losses-- personally and professionally-- she takes because of the truth. Yet her partner's strength keeps her there: she leans on it when her father dies, when she is returned in a coma, when she battles cancer, and when she must confront any number of unexplainable realities on a daily basis.
Tumblr media
Of course, dreams and nightmares and alternate realities are incapable of holding back Mulder or Scully for long; and the two find a way to keep fighting alongside each other, hoping to bring about a better, happier reality together.
Tumblr media
Thanks for reading~
Enjoy!

BRF Reading - 10th of March, 2023
This is speculation only
Cards drawn on the 10th of March, 2023
Question: How is Prince Edward's health? Is anything wrong? He looks terrible.
Tumblr media
Interpretation: His health is in decline, caused in part by his brother the King.
Card One: The Chariot, reversed.
The Chariot is a card about going forwards. When it is in reversed you are stuck, you are blocked, you can't make progress. I asked about Prince Edward's health, so something is blocked, he can't make progress in some area.
The Chariot is the card of Cancer, ruled by the Moon. The Moon represents emotions and the mother, so Edward could be under a lot of emotional stress - not surprising seeing as he is still in the first year of grieving for his mother. He could be upset about not being given the Dukedom of Edinburgh, as that was his mother's last gift to him and it would be a comfort to receive it in his time of grief. More serious is the association with Cancer, which is an actual disease and one that killed his mother. I am hoping that this card is just about his grief and loss of his mother and his emotional stress - all very understandable.
Card Two: The Emperor, reversed.
The Emperor here is Charles, as he is the King. Something that Charles is doing or has done could be adding to Edward's grief over losing his mother (not giving Edward the Dukedom of Edinburgh is the obvious answer, but I feel that it is more - that is part of it but there are other things Charles has done or is doing that are adding to Edward's emotional stress).
The Emperor reversed is the bad leader - rigid, tyrannical, stubborn, only what I want counts - instead of being the wise, caring, protective father figure who looks after his family and his people. Some of Charles's actions are appearing to Edward to be on the nasty/tyrant side of leadership. I have the energy of no consultation happening, just the king issuing orders and expecting everyone else to go along with them. Edward has no power to defend himself or his family, and that is causing him great stress.
Astrologically, the Emperor represents Aries, the sign that is ruled by Mars and relates to the head in a medical sense. I would not be surprised if Edward is getting major stress headaches/migraines over how his brother is treating Edward and his family.
Card Three: The Wheel of Fortune, reversed.
This is a downward shift in fortune, wealth, and status. The Wheel of Fortune is the card of Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion. reversed, it means no luck or luck taking a turn for the worse, and constriction rather than expansion. The energy of this card is of a decline in status. Prince Charles is going to reduce the status of Prince Edward and his children, and Edward is unable to stop this from happening, and it is causing him a great deal of stress.
In terms of health, this card means that Prince Edward's health is in the decline instead of getting better. He may not have reached the turning point in any health issues that he has.
Underlying Energy: Justice
This card is the only upright one in the reading. The energy of this card is of a plea for justice. Prince Edward wants justice, for himself and for his family. He wants balance - the energy of balance is coming through very strongly here. He wants the good deeds to be rewarded and the bad deeds to have consequences, and in his eyes the reverse is happening. He is tired and worn out and dealing with a deep grief for his mother, and he tries to fight for balance but he is not being given the opportunity to do so.
Major Arcana Cards:
The whole reading is major arcana cards, so this is important and public. Three of those cards are in reverse - that does not bode well for Prince Edward.
Conclusion:
Prince Edward is feeling the loss of his mother very strongly and is grieving for her. It is a constant emotional pain that does not go away and does not seem to ease over time. On top of this, he is dealing with a brother who he sees as acting like a tyrant, stripping his family of wealth and status and expecting them to go along with it simply because he (the brother) is King. There is no consultation, no 'what would you prefer', no options, just 'this is happening - deal with it'. This seems to be very unfair to Prince Edward when he contrasts this behaviour to how other family members are treated (e.g. Harry) - there is no balance in the situation. Prince Edward has no power to defend his family as it has been taken from him by his brother the King. All this is causing Edward a great deal of stress on top of his grief for his mother, and that is affecting his health in a serious way.
EDIT: I just looked up the medical astrology for the sign Cancer, and it rules the breast, chest and stomach, so Edward could be having stomach issues from the stress - maybe ulcers, maybe something else. That would fit in with his dramatic weight loss. Hopefully it is just the stress and grief affecting him and not something more serious.

Sometimes my MC (Daciana Pavlovich Morozov) shows her meanness to her uncle but kills him in the feels with very sweet and mushy stuff. So here is a random amount of my head cannon I think my Mc would do that is not related to the plot
One: My mc was a gothic kid when she was younger. Now I'm unsure if it was puberty or loss of her beloved dad but I like to think when she goes through teenager age she took a dark alternative style and Ash and her uncle Luka got to bond over black dark clothes and maybe go to a hot topic? Or a clothing store that sells grunge and punk clothes.
(pss: my mc now as an adult doesn't wear clothes like that as she wanted to be taken more serious and authoritarian when taking over as head to the family. So her clothes now are business casual or business themed but if uncle Luka brought her creepy gothic plushie she still has on her night stand)
Two: My mc has handmade shrines dedicated to her dead family members {ie: dad, aunt that can't remember her name, grandmother}. It's completely homemade by the wood and picture frame; each shrine is dedicated to the person who passed away and has their picture from time where they are the happiest or very memorable moment, and covered by either their favorite flowers or flower that represents their personality with different tokens (ie: their favorite perfume, jewelry, or anything that reminds her of them)
Three: My mc megamind tendencies. Yeah this is basically explanatory from my previous post/ask but I can see **whenever** the wedding for Luka and Jackal happens whether that's a small wedding or big event or off screen for sequel or end this game. If not the wedding planner she definitely would recommend an alternative to wedding rings (ie:like getting them tattooed or in scripted dagger with their wedding vow I'm looking at you Jackal) and then her making either special weapon for Jackal to celebrate him getting into the family
Aww love these headcanons so much 😭 Yeah, Luka will certainly still buy your MC some creepy gothic plushies and stuff, and maybe even some dark alternative style clothing. Other than it being some kind of an inside joke/knowledge between them, I feel like it is also Luka's way to cling on to the little MC he has always been protecting 🥺 MC and Ash grow up so fast, Luka just can't catch up.
And the lil handmade shrines... That's kinda sad but also sweet. I think that's a good way for MC to kind of "talk" to them about their day or about what's been happening in their life without having to go visit the cemetery at the edge of the city.
As for Luka's and Jackal's wedding, it would most likely be a pretty small party with only his family, closest friends, and maybe some of the more important people in the city attending (even the latter one is pushing his limit 😆). You might hopefully be able to see it in the Epilogue since I think that's a pretty neat segue kind of to the sequel later on where you play as his kid.
And ooh, the idea about the alternative wedding ring being tattoos 🤔It's so dramatic and extra, I kinda love it and you know Luka and Jackal are the type to actually consider doing that if your MC suggests it 😂 Now, Jackal won't have to worry about accidentally losing their wedding ring while doing missions, and none of them can "take off" the rings; it'll be a part of them at all times.

My wishes for future portrayals of the Adventure cast
Since 2023 is coming to an end - and since my Twitter timeline is full of bits about the final Sailor Moon Cosmos movie -, I thought it was time for one final analysis post. Initially, it felt a bit like a "moping post", complaining about how the Adventure writers have written themselves into a corner with a lot of the characters - however, I felt like reframing these and finding a more positive outlook. For 2024, the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, and beyond that.
Tumblr media
For the sake of this analysis post I will parallel the 12 characters with one another, thus talking about 6 pairs - either because they are facing similar issues or because they are on different ends of the potential spectrum.
MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD! (I will try to keep it as spoiler free for The Beginning as possible though!)
Taichi & Daisuke
Let's start with our goggle boys first, because they were the reason why I came up with this post in the first place. I had already paralleled them before, but what I haven't talked about yet is that they both represent certain aspects of the "main character syndrome" to me - aspects that can ALSO be found in Usagi Tsukino, and the final arc, Stars, in particular. All these three go through different types of hardships the plot throws at them; those familiar with my analysis posts know how much I consider Tri, the stageplay and Kizuna to be "Taichi suffer porn" and the Stars arc pretty much does the same with Usagi. It's one of the reasons why I have such a love-hate-relationship with these portrayals, because as much as I know how important they are for character growth, I also need there to be a catharsis. And in Taichi's case, I still feel like we haven't gotten there yet. Sure, it's implied that he's on his way to pull himself out of stagnation, accepting Digimon and the Digital World as a part of himself that will never vanish, etc. But on a very petty note, I still wish the writers could have invested more time into paralleling Daisuke and Taichi to one another, instead of just hinting at things. Because Daisuke, as much as he had to face dreadful moments and had to make tough decisions himself, never had to go through the same experiences of loss and grief as Taichi did. In a way, Daisuke is more the portrayal of "hope" in Usagi than Taichi is; Daisuke is usually a catalysator for other characters, he elevates and inspires others in more simple, but still very effective ways. In the DigiFes audio drama, we hear Daisuke say that he hasn't forgotten what happened to Taichi, that he wants to find a way to undo what happened and bring the Digimon back. It's hopeful, it's idealistic, it's Daisuke's good heart that reaches people. Unfortunately, we are not really seeing his own self-esteem struggles outside of audio dramas...
So what would I like to see for them in the future?
Taichi is giving other people hope too, but it's more because they naturally rely on him to be like that. What I need to happen for him is to see the spirit from the last few seconds of Kizuna, running through cherry blossoms with confidence and determination, and completely commit to that. I value Digimon for its realistic portrayal of human struggles and relationships, but with Taichi, they haven't found a good middle ground yet. The reboot absolutely was an attempt to maintain his main character status and popularity without the suffering - but in the process they stripped 90% of what makes his character interesting away from him and that made people more annoyed by his bland, perfectly positive attitude than anything else. I want him to embrace his struggles and see him find his own personal middle ground. Reconnecting with his family, part of the friend group, making difficult phone calls, actually figuring out a way to bring everyone together like they used to - up to a point where he can actually smile to himself again, as tough as early diplomat life can be, until we see him reunite with Agumon. I don't want everything to be perfect, I mean, heck, Taichi Yagami isn't even a canonically people-y person, he just likes to spend his time with weirdos he loves! But I want to see him get back on track. Give me a 15-30 minute short of that and I'll be happy.
As for Daisuke - I think the first audio drama for The Beginning was the perfect set-up for a mini-series dealing with "Daisuke Motomiya's struggles to set up his ramen cart career". Gimme 12 episodes of him facing different obstacles, whether they're physical or personal, that ACTUALLY highlight his qualities and developments in deeper ways, showing him to be vulnerable in front of someone.
Yamato & Ken
This may sound like a very obvious observation, but it's really interesting to me how similar the roles they have been fulfilling are in the context of being foils to the goggle boys. In fact, it's not even like they're impulse controls for Taichi and Daisuke respectively - but that they do exactly that FOR each other. Unfortunately, that makes it difficult for them to exist outside of this context - for example, I think The Beginning (and the third drama in particular) really WANTED Ken to be an integral part of the development, but couldn't really achieve that, even though there were SO MANY potential parallels to Rui. Any other than that, we don't really know what's going on with Ken - what HAS BEEN going on with him since 02 has ended. We know he is popular at uni, he's still a smart bean, in touch with the 02 group - but that's it.
The OG timeline still gave Yamato individual moments in Tri and Kizuna, but it didn't really allow him to bloom further yet - he couldn't really break out of his shell in the same vain as 02 already implied. Again, it's not necessary to give him a perfect happy end where his parents reunite and he'd be perfectly capable of making connections left and right - that wouldn't be realistic. And at least we got glimpses as to why he might get into space, which was nice. On the other hand, you could tell that they didn't really know what to do with him in the reboot aside from forcing him to be "the second strongest character in terms of combat" again for marketing reasons.
(And another thing that's similar to both of them and yet totally different - is the way their romantic lives are framed. And no, for once I don't mean that they're both hopelessly in love with their respective goggle boys, even though that is technically part of it too... Both their supposed future spouses are the ones who canonically make the first step towards vaguely romantic gestures - but we only see one of these interactions framed in a rather romantic light ever since 02 ended, whereas the other has been weirdly brushed under the rug ever since.)
So what would I like to see for them in the future?
Similarly to how I wanted a short showing Taichi's more human side again, I want something like that for each Ken and Yamato too. To see how their daily lives go. Show me Ken and Wormmon fighting crime and Yamato being confronted with WHY exactly there is a threat coming from space, which is WHY he chooses to go in that direction in the first place (even though he totally could have chosen to become a policeman just like Ken too, Tri and Kizuna made very valid points to him LOVING to investigate after all!!!). And I want the writers to COMMIT to show how they're able to form and maintain relationships, because really - we know they are both popular with the crowds, but struggle A LOT with that. ESPECIALLY in the romance department. I know and understand why they WOULDN'T do that considering the fandom backlashes in the past, but... It's been 25 years. That bandaid should have been ripped off a long time ago. Show us why it works - or why it doesn't.
Mimi & Miyako
Mimi and Miyako are loud, proud - and have become quite the fandom favourites throughout the years. Part of that may come from their more "international framing", colourful wardrobes and overall spunkiness within their respective friend groups. The most outstanding part about them is - they aren't plot drivers, but they're perfectly capable of pushing important moments due to them being able to give their emotions a voice and that's what makes them so vital. (What I personally found interesting - even though the fandom me included loves to frame them both as bi-sexual queens, only Miyako is implied to pursue romance, whereas Mimi's actions and love language portrayals can be seen as coming rather from a place of platonic affection.)
So what would I like to see for them in the future?
In my opinion, the writers really have been trying to make these two shine on their own for a while now and there isn't much I'd personally want to change about that. However, giving them mini-series about their careers, showing how they keep changing direction and discovering more things about themselves in the process could be pretty great though. I still want to see someone consistently designing amazing outfits for them (*cough* Sora *cough*), so they could show those off in every episode.
Koushirou & Jyou
I'm gonna say it now - the biggest problem these two have is the fact that they have been among the most consistently well-written characters through the course of Adventure AND 02 (and the stageplay), maybe only rivaled by Ken. Basically, they had already come to their own conclusions by the end of the first and second season respectively - and even if, of course, there were still things that could have enriched their stories, we knew where we were headed with them. They still had their flaws, but they were both continuously growing - even if it was just implied. And thus, ever since Tri, there have been only a few breadcrumbs (such as showing us Koushirou having a close bond to his parents by valuing their anniversary and Jyou showing Gomamon that he's not afraid of blood anymore and thus ready to move forward). Nevertheless, it took a few unfortunate "resets" of their characters for the writers to even have interesting things to say about them - including very questionable romance-leaning subplots that involved an invisible girlfriend nobody believed in and a superficial crush that didn't lead to anything.
Now we're at a point where their characters are basically narrowed down to "Guy who solves all problems and if he's not there, who else should know what's going on anymore, haha" and "Guy who is never around and always busy anyway, haha". The Beginning and the dramas literally made fun of it like that in the same way.
So what would I like to see for them in the future?
Without going too much into detail about this topic again, I really want there to be a short/mini movie dealing with Koushirou's personal life. My boy has been nothing but "work and plot and a lack of sleep and probably being this close to burn-out" for the past few movies (technically since DSB) and I want to see how his individual bonds to the characters have developed. Give me his struggles with interpersonal relationships, show me his setbacks in that regard, show me how he expresses his love languages in meaningful ways - and let the others show him that he is loved for who he is, not for the problems he solves. GIVE ME EMOTIONS.
Similar things can of course also be said about Jyou - give me a situation in which he comes first, in which he is the one who sets things in motion and saves the day for once. Because he WANTS to be around - Hikari's guilty tone in the drama wouldn't have come out of nowhere!!! On the other hand - give him his own mini-series, please, show me the adventures of Doc Kidou saving lives, getting accustomed to his work in the Digital World. Give him something good, he deserves it!
Takeru & Hikari
Most of it has already been said in here - but these two are basically glued together by the hip since forever and still haven't progressed much as characters ever since the end of 02. They're usually more fuel for other characters' development and there's less focus on themselves - The Beginning and the dramas at least imply they are on their way to be fine (aside from Takeru being implied to be a lightweight), but it would still be nice to see that a little more in-depth.
So what would I like to see for them in the future?
Actually, the second drama has already been a nice set-up - let there be a mini-series of these two telling stories about the adventures of the group, either leaving open whether those actually happened or had just been fiction! On the other hand, it actually would be nice to have a movie from their perspective on everything for once. Personally, I do not need any romantic framing, but just watching what may have happened ever since from their perspectives, their thoughts and feelings, would be incredibly satisfying.
Sora & Iori
Oh boy. I guess it's appropriate to call them "the forgotten ones" at this point. Because the writers aren't even particularly subtle about the way they have basically no idea what to do with them. (And even if either of them has very passionate singular fans, they still seem to be the least popular Chosen Children overall.) Even though both of them could have the most interesting developments if they were allowed to be portrayed properly, both of them have traditionally ALWAYS gotten the shortest end of the stick.
With Sora, this is particularly frustrating, because, just like with Taichi, we can TELL that this has not been the end of her story of self-discovery yet. No, we're still in the middle of it. But we're denied to actually see her development - and are just told that she, up to the point we have been able to watch, chose the same path as Jyou, to follow "family customs/wants". But unlike Jyou - who actually TOLD her that she has to do something because she WANTS it when they were KIDS - was never 100% committed to or happy with that. Which, again, is not satisfying to watch, because her path had always been about discovering what her PERSONAL path was. It's still a crime that To Sora wasn't part of Kizuna itself, because there are still a lot of people who don't even understand WHY she chose to stay away and thus see it as her abandoning the others... (Plus, it doesn't help that they basically left her out of the movie, because they didn't want to reduce her to being a love interest AGAIN - especially because, as mentioned, the writers were very careful when talking about those ships in general -, but apparently didn't know what else to do with her...)
With Iori, it's so hard to pinpoint, because, just like with Ken, we basically know nothing about him and what has happened ever since the end of 02. They couldn't even make an "utility character" out of him like Koushirou, because that is already Miyako's part - however, they at least managed to make him look just as overworked and close to burn-out as his dads Koushiroud and Jyou, so...
So what would I like to see for them in the future?
This may sound silly, but I want Sora to go on vacation. Let her go on a scavenger hunt to figure out what exactly she wants. Let her reconnect with the others, step by step - at least those she still feels close with, I don't want 11 reconciliation stories, but there are at least a few people that could seriously help INSPIRE her to get better again, to have an actual, genuine talk with her mother. Heck, let her mother tell her that she never wanted her to diminish herself! I want a Sora movie. Her being the key to solving an issue the gang faces, even if Piyomon isn't back - yet. Or a story of them having freshly reunited and Sora deciding to show her love to the others in individual ways.
With Iori, I want a special about him reconnecting with his dad's past, doing research, finding out his own path as well. Maybe talking to various characters (ESPECIALLY KEN AND TAKERU) in depth about feelings, demanding ACTUAL answers for once. Basically, sending him on a similar self-discovery journey as Sora would be beautiful. Just - putting emphasis on him growing up, being a vital part of the group as an individual, showing him be actually close to people and not just a third wheel.

Another treehouse ask!
So, I've been re-reading my favorite parts while wait for the next chapter and the ones I keep coming back to are the snippets of his proposal where he's gifting her two of everything.
I was wondering if we could get a further detailed director's/writer's commentary about all of that because you have so much symbolism, thought, and meaning behind your writing so I was wondering what made you choose to focus and point out the offerings like the tea and the jewelry?
HI ANON
Oh I’ve been waiting for someone to ask me about the proposal!
Buckle up because this is gonna be a long post. It would literally be essay length if I wrote full sentences so I’m just gonna do a list of each symbol and what it means, but no guarantees this won’t be long as shit.
I’m Chinese (and Filipino), and instead of going with a conventional Western proposal, I thought there was something very ancient + modern + romantic + regal + beautiful about the 过大礼 (Guo Da Li), the traditional Chinese betrothal ceremony. Morpheus is old fashioned and a ruler in his own right, and his last marriage would’ve been done in the customs of Ancient Greece, so it made sense to me that he would pick something equally distinguished/with equal history.
I modified it for the story and focused on a few specific items in the basket that I thought would be best for the plot. This is heavily inspired and not meant to be a 100% accurate depiction of this practice.
(Link on Guo Da Li components here)
In Chinese culture, even numbers are viewed as more lucky/prosperous than odd numbers, particularly in the context of betrothal/marriage. A couple is 2 people, so the number 2 represents their unity (among other things). The groom gifts two of every item to the bride and her family as his proposal to invoke that, to show his own wealth and ability to care for her, and to compensate the family for the loss of their beloved child (and show that he recognizes how much she is worth to them).
Morpheus isn’t just interested in pretty words and declarations of love - he intends to marry Reader and give her all that goes along with essentially marrying a King. (Think Hurrem Sultan going from slave to wedded wife of Sultan Suleiman, ruler of the Ottoman Empire). He wants to show her that he can provide for her and their child, he wants to flex his own wealth and power, and (very critically) he sees how important Willow and Diana are to her, as her family, and chooses specifically to propose in this manner that has him giving gifts to them, aka symbolically obligating him to them as he will be taking their beloved family member. He is also *linking their families together* by giving Willow and Diana gifts.
He did personally craft/obtain all of these gifts and all of this symbolism is, in canon, chosen by and made by him.
Alright on to the actual gifts:
The specific basket that the betrothal gifts are meant to come in:
Black wrapping paper - these baskets come in either red or black traditionally
Dragons and phoenixes on the wrapping paper - these motifs pop up frequently in Chinese betrothal ceremonies - The Dragon and Phoenix pair historically, symbolises royalty and the perfect harmony and balance between yin (female) and yang (male) forces. It is said that this coupling complements each other in creating matrimonial bliss and perfection - befitting of their status of a symbol of everlasting and harmonious love. The Dragon and Phoenix - the epitome of the perfect pair, symbolises that the couple will stay together through thick and thin, and that their passion for their significant other will never die. The custom of weaving these motifs into weddings is a way of blessing the newlyweds with both patriarch and matriarch luck, prosperity and fortune in their union, and numerous filial descendants.” (Source)
Basket is made without any nails or adhesive - the art of Chinese wood joinery, or making furniture by carving the pieces of wood so that they hold together without anything else joining them, goes back thousands of years and is the hallmark of Chinese furniture
Lotuses - “The lotus is also known as 莲 lián in Chinese and homophones to lian give it symbolic meanings: 廉 lián ‘incorruptible, modest’; 连 lián ‘joint, continuous, successive’; 联 lián ‘unite, join’. Another name for the lotus hé brings other associations through the homophones 和 hé ‘harmony, union’ so two lotus flowers symbolize the wish for marital harmony.” (Source)
Lillies - “The species of lily most prized in China is the ‘day lily’ (Hemerocallis) whose blooms only last one day. The transitory nature of the flowers is said to help you forget your troubles. Its rapid sequence of flowers makes it a symbol for childbearing and is therefore a suitable gift for newly weds.” (Source)
Chrysanthemums - “The chrysanthemum is a much loved flower in China and is often portrayed in pictures. It is a symbol of joy and a wish for peaceful retirement. It sounds similar to 居 jū ‘to reside, to endure’ and久 jiǔ ‘long time’.” (Source)
Willows - “The widespread willow is a very useful tree. It provides material for all sorts of purposes including baskets, ropes and firewood. It is associated with Spring and therefore also with romance. (…) When people left home they were often given willow twigs as a parting gift as li sounds the same as 离 lí ‘to part’. Willow will sprout readily from cuttings and so a tree can be planted to give a continual reminder of home.” (Source)
Pine needles and cranes - “The pine tree is one of the three friends of winter - together with plums and bamboo because it is evergreen and does not drop its needles. It is a favorite subject in Chinese landscape paintings. It symbolizes longevity, solitude and steadfastness; as the needles grow in pairs it is also a symbol of married bliss. With a crane a pine tree gives the wish for a peaceful and long life.” (Source)
Plum blossoms and cranes - “The welcome blossom of plum trees in late winter has made the plum tree a popular plant. It is one of the three friends of winter with the bamboo and the pine tree. It is also widely known by the character 李 lǐ which is made up of two elements ‘wood’ and ‘child’ suggesting the prolific fruits produced by the tree. 桃李 Táo lǐ ‘peaches and plums’ is a phrase to refer to school children. The four plants plum, bamboo, orchid and chrysanthemum represent the four seasons of the year - winter through to autumn (the 四君子 sì jūn zǐ four gentlemen). Because the flowers emerge before the leaves and it takes a long time to come into flower it is associated with longevity. It is often shown with a crane, another symbol of longevity (…)” (Source)
The caskets holding the tea, one of the traditional Guo Da Li gifts:
Both the caskets and the basket are based off of real antiques that I found online but have now lost the links for rip
Pomegranates - “The pomegranate fruit is brim full of seeds, and as seed in Chinese 子 zǐ also means children, it chiefly symbolizes a wish for many children. This can be emphasized by portraying children with pomegranates in a picture. The pomegranate is sometimes known as the ‘Chinese apple’. The first trees were brought into China from Afghanistan during the Han dynasty. It is an appropriate as a marriage gift with the inscription 榴开百子 liú kāi bǎi zǐ ‘the pomegranate brings forth a hundred seeds/sons’.” (Source)
Roses - “The Chinese monthly rose (月季 yueji) is famous for the fact that it blooms almost every month of the year. For this reason, the Chinese rose is also known as ‘the eternal spring flower’ (長春花 changchunhua), and is thus a symbol of longevity.” (Source)
Ravens and stars - personally representative of Morpheus himself
The tea:
Da Hong Pao is the most expensive tea in the world. Literally. Specifically, when it comes from the original grove of trees that grow Da Hong Pao leaves. Morpheus is flexing his wealth and influence that he can give her not just one casket of this million dollar tea, but two.
8 oranges:
8 is the specific auspicious number for couples (4 is an unlucky number)
Symbolizes good luck (source)
2 bottles of expensive ass whiskey:
“Gift for father-in-law: 2 bottles of hard liquor or red/white wine Symbolises prosperity and a harmonious atmosphere in the family” (source)
Whiskey is Willow’s preferred alcohol
2 pairs of dragon-Phoenix candles:
See above reference in the dragon Phoenix motif
“Lighting fancy candles is an indispensable part of traditional Chinese wedding customs. Often used in weddings, such candles are mostly adorned with patterns of dragons and phoenixes and flowers to convey good wishes for prosperity and auspiciousness. Therefore candle often used in traditional Chinese wedding is also known as dragon and phoenix candle. According to historical records, there were wedding candles as early as the Six Dynasties. They were used at weddings in the Southern Liang Dynasty (502-557) and became a custom after the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Wedding candles had played a significant role in the marriage ceremonies in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties (1600-1644). Thus, dragon and phoenix candles had witnessed countless marriages in centuries.” (Source)
Gold jewelry (copied from AO3):
Gold jewelry for the bride is part of the traditional Guo Da Li gifts
Reader's crown/necklace/earrings/cuffs are intended to literally be the jewelry found at the archaeological site of Troy as part of "Priam's Hoard." This treasure trove of beautiful gold artifacts predates the Trojan War period by hundreds of years. Morpheus does not dabble in reproductions, especially not for the woman he intends to take to wife. Yes, he used magic/his powers/the Dreaming to secure the originals. https://www.ancient-origins.net/artifacts-other-artifacts/treasures-priam-golden-riches-legendary-city-troy-003350
Dowry/bride price (copied from AO3):
“The tradition of Pin Jin stems from the Chinese belief that that when a daughter is married, she leaves the family while the in-laws receives her into theirs. Thus, Pin Jin symbolises the bride’s value to the groom’s family. It is also given to create goodwill between the in-laws.” (Source)
I deliberated for some time over how Morpheus would present her dowry. Gold bars are sort of ugly/modern/don't have that much pizazz. Instead, Dream reached through time and space and collected gold coins from throughout human history; Ancient Chinese coins, Ancient Greek (specifically Macedonian Greek) coins, proto-Indian (Kushan Empire, so 30-375 CE) coins. (There are other gold coins from other cultures, those are just the ones I point out specifically). Not only is Morpheus displaying his wealth, he's showing off his ability to acquire wealth that no mortal could. Every civilization that ever made gold coins is meant to be represented in her dowry, from every corner of the earth. Morpheus' powers are universal, not just restricted to Western Europe.
Reiterating that the point here isn’t that Morpheus is “buying” her. Her worth goes beyond words to him - he is willing to put his money where his mouth is (sprinkle sprinkle). He wants to show her and her family how much he values her in a real, tangible way.

"How did the Canadian government see the war after the first, German conquests in  Western Europe? On April 30, 1940, O.D. Skelton wrote a document called The Present Outlook. Skelton was [Prime Minister Mackenzie] King’s under-secretary of Foreign Affairs, thus King’s deputy  minister, his most trusted advisor, one of the leading public servants in Ottawa. Skelton’s document was remarkable for its lack of foresight. For example, it suggested that Japan represented no danger to the allies. It also linked as one force the two, bitter enemies, communism and fascism, as rival forms of totalitarianism, which now united. Skelton  described the horrifying possibility of a victory of the associated Germans, Italians, and  Soviets as if Canada were in an undeclared war with the Soviet Union, now allied with the Nazis. Writing about U.S. neutrality, Skelton wrote that, in the recent past, probable victory for England and France against Germany meant that the American people rightly saw no need to fight against totalitarianism. With the possibility of a victory of a German-Italian-Russian coalition, American public opinion would now change. All this nonsense from one of the most powerful men in Ottawa, a man who had the ear and respect of King about Canada’s war policy. In actual fact, Skelton probably believed the government’s own propaganda about the nature of the war as being a war upon totalitarianism and, therefore, an undeclared war against the U.S.S.R. The nature of anti-Soviet manipulations in Europe during the phoney war was clarified eventually when Swedish diplomatic archives revealed that a week before the German blitzkrieg was launched upon the French, the French government and military had been preparing to  send 50,000 troops to wage war against the U.S.S.R. in Finland, rather than preparing to  defend France against Germany.
After France and the Low Countries fell to the Germans in the Spring of 1940, the character of the war changed for Canada. A general panic among the public ensued. Canada was now the most important ally of the British, isolated and beleaguered in Europe. Canadians rushed to volunteer for the military. The King government insisted upon the voluntary aspect of Canada’s contribution in military manpower. In October, 1939, Duplessis had sought re-election in Quebec by using the threat of conscription, against which Duplessis was to be the bulwark. Federal Liberals, led by Justice minister Ernest Lapointe, promised there would be no conscription, and pledged their seats in Quebec towards this commitment. Duplessis was defeated when Quebeckers voted for the provincial Liberals, led by Adélard Godbout.
What then was to be Canada’s contribution to the defence of Britain? King prepared Canada for a war of limited liability in terms of its contribution to the war effort. The priorities were to be economic aid, which would help Canadian capitalists make profits, re-launch the economy, and create jobs; national unity, especially the unity of King’s Liberal Party, powerful in Quebec; and defending Canada’s borders and infrastructure but even more importantly, Canada’s internal social order. In the immediate flush of pro-British enthusiasm after the start of proceedings, King had sent an army division of 20,000 troops to Britain. He soon regretted this decision when negotiations were held between Britain and Canada to train aviators in Canada as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. During the acrimonious negotiations with Britain, King fought and scrapped about the costs of the plan, $600 million per year, of which  Canada was to assume $350 million, in order to train 20,000 airmen per year for use by Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. King insisted that Canada’s contribution to the plan would be its most effective contribution to the war effort. Emphasis on the plan also permitted King to envisage a reduced loss of military lives, which might also ease pressure for conscription.
Many English-Canadians felt that King’s proposed contribution to the war was too calculated, too timid. They wanted Canada to do more than help Britain financially, guard borders and infrastructure, and train aviators. They wanted Canadians to fight alongside Britain, this in spite of the Phoney War early in WWII that precluded immediate, actual combat. In Ontario, the provincial Liberal government of Mitchell Hepburn said so in a resolution, adopted on January 18, 1940, which criticized King’s lack of vigorous execution of the war. King used this occasion to call elections, which were coming due as King was now in the fifth year of government. King manoeuvred the leader of the Tories, Robert Manion, into approving the no-conscription pledge to Quebeckers. On March 26, King won an overwhelming majority, 181 seats out of 245 in the House of Commons. The Liberals were now free to conduct a war of limited liability according to their priorities. King’s priorities for this war of limited liability illuminate the real reason why Canada went to war. Writes Jack Granatstein: “Canada went to war in September, 1939 because Britain had gone to war, and for no other reason. It was not a war for Poland; it was not a war against anti-semitism; it was not even a war against Naziism,” even though the horrible atrocity of the Nazi genocides against Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, and  political opponents did provide post facto moral justification for World War II and  Canada’s participation therein."

Art in HotD - 1x05 “We Light The Way”
(more art in Westeros) - (more art in HotD)
(Make sure to click through, these images are BIG)
There’s no doubt about what makes the meaty part of this episode: Corlys’ art collection. But first, a good panoramic look at High Tide:
Tumblr media
Hard not think of Mont Saint-Michel. Does this make the Stormlands Fantasy Normandy? Maybe, if maritime pines grew there. On the other hand in this very episode Larys explained to us that “natural habitat” is an elastic concept on Planetos (which honestly? is consistent with the magical seasons). ETA: The actual filming location is indeed St. Michael’s Mount in Cornwall, historically hosting an abbey founded by benedictine monks coming from… Mont Saint-Michel. (Thanks to Ashaya of History of Westeros and @salty-wench for pointing this out to me!)
But it’s the inside that’s the real treat. We saw a glimpse of it in episode 2, when Corlys and Daemon join forces to fight at the Stepstones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That bronze head covered in coral and sediments makes a clear connection between the Velaryons and the sea they tied their house’s heritage to. Same for what looks like the skull of a deep sea fish on his desk. But they are also bizarre and unique items; let’s put a pin on that.
The great hall in High Tide gives the impression of being spacious and airy, despite being full of items collected by Corlys in his travels. The architecture is very spartan, with some painted decoration on the window arches, that together with the teal walls prevent the room from feeling too austere. I’m also a bit at loss with the diamond texture on the pillar capitals; they don’t really look like any historical style I can think of, though the diamonds have been used in the renaissance for civilian as well as military architecture, just not on capitals.
Tumblr media
A good look at the Driftwood Throne; a piece of lore that wasn’t mentioned in the episode was that it was gifted to the Velaryons by the mythical sea deity the Merlin King. It would be interesting to know whether it was the Velaryons who decorated the wood with their heraldic seahorse or if the story goes the other way around - they adopted the seahorse because it was already there? I am leaning towards the former.
Tumblr media
On the bottom left you can also see a mid sized statue of what looks like an Asian warrior, reminiscent of both the terracotta soldiers and of traditional Mongolian iconography. Does this represent an inhabitant of Yi Ti?
Another statement piece besides the throne is the model of the castle on the left side of the room:
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, during my first viewing I took note of it and I assumed it was a model of High Tide itself, but the actual castle is much smaller. The architecture is also distinctly different from the one in Viserys’ model of Valyria, so it isn’t a representation of the Velaryons’ ancestral land. A possibility is that it is actually Driftmark, so Corlys is watching over both his castles at the same time - and most of all, he is displaying them both. It’s important to note that unlike Viserys’ miniature, this model is meant to be seen by whoever is coming to meet the Lord of the Tides. However, this doesn’t really match the description of Driftmark as dark and cramped, so I’m making a wild guess and saying it is actually a project for the future expansion of High Tide, as the architectural style seems to match, as well as the hilltop silhouette. The model also seems to be made of wood, which was the preferred material for this kind of item back before modern lightweight alternatives and 3D renderings. Note also the statues holding the table, an iconography with its roots in antiquity and that took hold again during the Renaissance before taking a decidedly racist turn shortly after (a huge number of architectural elements but also furniture etc. especially from the 17th and 18th century depict black men in that position, often with exaggerated, grotesque features).
Tumblr media
It wouldn't surprise me if the big seashell near the throne was custom made for High Tide especially because of the impeccable color coordination, but I'm not so sure. Something that definitely was commissioned is the huge fresco depicting a ship behind the staircase (why oh why is it behind a staircase??? Corlys you didn't think *this* through). The figurehead represents the titular Sea Snake Corlys' ship gets her name from, preceded by dolphins (both in classical and Medieval/Renaissance iconography a symbol of good fortune for seafarers, and also of speed and intelligence) and it is also going in the direction of the sun, which is interesting in the context of this quote from Fire & Blood:
As for Lady Alys Westhill, born Elissa of House Farman, where her adventure ended we cannot say. The Sun Chaser vanished into the west, still searching for the lands beyond the Sunset Sea, and was never seen again.
Except…
Many years later, Corlys Velaryon, the boy born on Driftmark in 53 AC, would take his ship the Sea Snake on nine great voyages, sailing farther than any man of Westeros had ever sailed before. On the first of those voyages, he sailed beyond the Jade Gates, to Yi Ti and the isle of Leng, and returned with such a wealth of spice and silk and jade that House Velaryon became, for a time, the wealthiest house in all the Seven Kingdoms. On his second voyage, Ser Corlys sailed even farther east, and became the first Westerosi ever to reach Asshai-by-the-Shadow, the bleak black city of the shadowbinders at the edge of the world. There he lost his love and half his crew, if the tales be true…and there as well, in Asshai’s harbor, he glimpsed an old and much weathered ship that he would swear forevermore could only have been Sun Chaser.
Is this fresco both a celebration of Corlys' famous voyages and a declaration of intent - that someday he, or another Velaryon, will go "west of Westeros" the way the legend says Elissa Farman did? Either way, it's as much of a statement piece as the storytelling columns in the Great Hall in King's Landing, except less martial and more aspirational. You can glimpse a bit more of the fresco in some pre release featurette from HBO that I didn’t have the time to track down, which shows the ship is also accompanied by actual sea snakes, and that the painting overlooks what’s basically an altar with the skulls of the Velaryon ancestors wearing oblong helms, clearly representing the ground (well, technically the sea) upon which the house stands.
>
House Velaryon as envisioned by Corlys, however, doesn’t dwell on the past; it  is projected towards growth and discovery. There seem to be also some little monochrome scenes in the circles painted into the framing of the bigger fresco, but not even high res production stills are able to show what exactly they are depicting.
Tumblr media
On to items that have been collected rather than commissioned: lots of sea and horse imagery, but no straight up seahorse save for one where the peculiar bend of the tail makes me suspect it had a functional purpose, possibly as an oarlock. There are also items that do not relate directly to the Velaryon heraldry, like that stone element hanging from the ceiling that reminds me of the steeples of Khmer temples like the ones in Angkor, Cambodia. Or what might look like an astronomical tool, relevant for a seafarer, but also interestingly held by serpents, which might indicate more obscure, occult uses (and as the quote above reminds us, Corlys allegedly sailed as far as Asshai). There's a random wooden statue representing a human figure, precious pottery, etc. There's also, notably, the Crabfeeder's mask, which makes me wonder how many of Corlys' treasures were bought or traded and how many are spoils of battle.
Tumblr media
What these items make when grouped together isn't so much a museum or private art collection, as much as a Wunderkammer, or cabinet of wonders. It's important to note that in the eras HotD draws from - basically the late Middle Ages with some tentative leap towards the Renaissance - the notion of art and its value was different than it is now. The way we conceive of art today owes a lot to the Romantic movement and its idea of art as the expression of human emotion - and of individual human genius. Before that, with various degrees of nuance, art was mostly a means to an end, and the artist was generally seen as a glorified craftsman (sometimes craftswoman) whose intellectual and personal contribution began and ended at the formal, technical stage of execution (again: there was wiggle room for this, and increasingly heated debate on figurative artists’ intellectual worth, but I digress). Which is why the Wunderkammer often mixed what we now consider actual, reputable art (or archaeology) with things that were valued just because they were weird and unique, like stuffed exotic animals, weirdly shaped pearls or seashells and whatnot, complex machinery, biological specimens going from the bizarre to the macabre. Cabinets of wonders have often been the starting point for the construction of modern museums, but Westerosi culture is still very far away from conceptualizing museums or private art collections in the modern sense, however they have the right mindset to start building Wunderkammern.
Tumblr media
In a way, Corlys is the closest thing Westeros has to a Renaissance prince right now, because he claims ancient nobility but he's also a self made man, whose influence relies on a wealth built on trade rather than on the ownership of land or natural resources. And, like a Renaissance prince, he has a keen understanding of the use of art and decor as a means to communicate what he and his family are, what they were and what they want to be.
Tumblr media
I thought High Tide would take over all of this week's post BUT we have at least a couple of tidbits from the Red Keep. We get a nice look at Alicent's quarters, and while the walls are dominated by the usual dragon orgies, I spotted that little aedicule near the window. Unfortunately we can't see what it contains, but my money would be on some little painting or icon relating to the Seven, a little niche for Alicent's devotion amongst the aggressively pagan wall art. It would be in line with the thinly veiled Catholic references the Faith is built upon, as it's pretty common for Catholic devotional paintings or statues (especially of saints or the Virgin Mary) to be housed in aedicules. It's a small thing, but I'm very curious to see whether and where the production design slips Faith iconography in the background, as it seems to be one of the main divides between the Greens and the Blacks.
Tumblr media
Also, peep the dolphin shaped table legs, a popular motif during the Renaissance in general but, besides the meanings we've seen in relation to Corlys, also traditionally associated with nobility and faithfulness, hence a fitting iconography for a queen consort.
Tumblr media
Last but not least, this isn't artwork per se, but it's hard not to see a callback to Last Supper imagery when it comes to the high table at the wedding feast - but rather than Leonardo's famous painting I got reminded of a slightly older iconography which explicitly singled Judas out. Which isn't to say Daemon is literally the Judas in the scenario, especially if we take Rhaenyra as the "Jesus" of the scene - she even has a halo/crown created by the outline of the Iron Throne when she’s seated... - but he is definitely a disruptor. Though not as disruptive as Alicent, the real odd one out here, arriving late and dressed in green as she joins a table that's basically composed of the future Blacks. Ironically, from her point of view it's Rhaenyra who is the Judas in the picture.
(also high res production stills show us some more details about the reliefs on the Great hall columns - yeah that's indeed a Targaryen shield there in the upper right. Now, if only I could make out what's on the shield more to the left...)

WIP Tag Game!
Whoa tagged again by the brilliant @ivaspinoza! Check her out if you're down for what I imagine to be some intense bloodsucking existentialism!
I'll do this for all of Songbird Elegies as a whole. I'm on book two right now - Blind Trust comes out June 20th!
Read below to hear some things about the origins of the series that I haven't actually said yet and probably won't say again.
1. What was the first part of your wip that you created?
Funny story! I hadn't written anything tangible for months since leaving my terrible copyrighting job. I was absolutely miserable. I ended up leaving my second job because of a medication problem and spent a week in bed detoxing off of Seroquel withdrawal - bad bad don't do that if you can help it. After that I fell into recovery and just had no idea what to do with my days.
The turning point was when I sent an email going fully no-contact with my across-the-board abusive parents. They did some awful things across the course of my life and I'm still spending a good chunk of time making up for their ridiculous medical neglect. I might need throat surgery because of them. Not great! But anyways, I sent that email and wrote the first 15 pages of Blind Trust later that day, sitting on the floor while my wife took a nap on the couch. It just came out. Wife said they liked it so I just kept going.
Three months and two data losses later and the first draft was done!
2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
I have so many Songbird Elegy playlists oh my God. It's hard to say, and the answer will change, but right now it's "Love Me, Normally" by Will Wood.
3. Who are your favourite characters you've made? Why?
They're all very important to me for different reasons. Scott is the one I tend to talk about the most because he captures a lot of mania and upbeat romanticism, qualities of myself that I value despite the obvious faults. Edgar is just as important, but they represent a lot of my current struggles and I'm doing a lot of healing and processing through them which is good but less - you know - fun?
Tenzin reminds me of my wife with her quiet stoicism. Katy reminds me of my older sister and everything she sacrificed to keep me and my siblings alive. She's more of a mother to me than my own mother. My sister is actually the first person to finish Blind Trust after I finished it.
4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?
Disco Elysium maybe? Griffin and Sabine - has anyone else read that? The Witcher, but specifically the novels? Requiem for a Dream for later books. Tales of the City in terms of tone and character focus. Fleet Foxes and Hoizer and early Decemberists?
Good, warm soup. If you like a bowl of good, warm soup, you will enjoy Songbird Elegies.
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?
Definitely Edgar's arc. Their experience with their metaphorical (or are they??) inner child and the abuse they've been working to escape and recover from has been hard to look at directly. Especially once I introduced Scott's mother, who's turned into a weird mix of the maternal figure I wish I had and the one I feel I could've been if I chose that path.
Yesterday I found myself writing how I wish it went when my wife met my parents, through Scott and Edgar meeting Scott's mom. The sharing of parental pride and affection despite potential embarrassment. It's a cute scene, but there's a lot of grief in there for me. I wonder if it'll show.
6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
Wilford Brimley is Katy's pet Persian cat. He is old and weird and a little fucked up. I had to edit his introduction in Blind Trust because it was six (small) paragraphs and Wife told me that was unreasonable (skill issue), but I can include some canon info:
He shoves his paw under the bathroom door while people are in the bathroom
He likes feet
Edgar sometimes shares little bits of cheese with him
Once he fell asleep in Edgar's lap but then peed in his lap and just kept sleeping in the piss
Edgar treat him like a weird cousin he has to make conversation with during holidays
Wilford thinks he's his brother and an equally fucked up cat
7. How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)
Cars mostly! Edgar has a shitty used car that's always close to breaking down. Katy has a newer car that's still used, but she takes very good care of it - I think it's a Fiat. I think Tenzin probably uses the car Scott's Dad left behind after he died, which is a vintage Cadillac convertible that Scott's Mom fixed up.
Scott is the only one without a license since he essentially has a magical dissociative disorder and hasn't yet felt safe behind the wheel. In Blind Trust he's taken every form of public transit to cross the country. I think when he was younger he used to skateboard to get around Bluerose.
8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?
I'm close to 40k into book two!
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?
I have hopes that people will enjoy the tenderness of it. I'm like a reverse-whump ace writer, in that I've written a series that's aggressively pro-comfort and recovery. People start off in pretty sorry states and then make the difficult effort to put themselves and each other back together.
There's explicit ace representation in Scott and aroace rep in Katy (she doesn't know it yet though shhh). Edgar comes out as Agender and changes pronouns midway into the series, but still keeps presenting as androgynous/masc leaning. There's diversity in body types and gender identities in a way that feels warranted to me - Scott has Klinefelter's and grew up taking T, and he made a best friend that came out so she could take her E with him. Same goes with disabilities in prominent characters, though the main four focus on what I have personal experience in.
As a disabled queer writer I hope to make a series that tells a fantastical story about people like me that doesn't pander specifically to my market.
10. What are your hopes for your wip?
I hope people read it. I hope they like it. It'd be cool if I could talk to people about it. I've been pretty deep in the Songbird Elegy fandom for some time now haha.
On a more serious note I hope there's a market for non-sexualized romances that are still hyper intimate. I know I'm into it but I'm still not sure if other people are. I'd like to create more media about positive and fulfilling ace relationships, both romantic and platonic. I'm tired of people seeing that type of life as a loss. Any healthy companionship is not a loss.
I want people to read Songbird Elegies and think about the love in their lives and in themselves. All of it, in every way. Yeah.
I tag @ryns-ramblings! I wanna hear about your thing!

Obviously for Codywan: 6 and its cousin 17 🥹
These ones were more challenging than the last ones but still a lot of fun to think about
(Link to the OTP Relationship Asks)
6. When did they realize they loved each other?
I wish I was familiar enough with all the arcs in Clone Wars to be exact but here is my best answer.
I will say Cody needed much longer to figure it out but I think he would’ve first opened up to the possibility of something deeper when he got his scar. This is obviously a complete headcanon, but I believe Obi Wan would’ve checked up on him to make sure he was okay after he received medical attention. I don’t believe there’s a canon explanation for his scar (maybe there’s something in Legends) but it had to be early in the war. Head wounds bleed a lot and Cody’s scar is pretty big, meaning something really bad would’ve had to happen. It really throws Obi Wan off, way more than he expects it to. When he saw the injury, even though he could still feel Cody in the force, he thought he was close to death because there was so much blood. Since he doesn’t have much time for friends who aren’t Jedi (and the ones he has he barely gets to see), Cody represents something very unique and important in his life because he speaks to him nearly every day. He goes to see Cody and they have a genuine, off-duty conversation and Obi Wan is visibly shaken, which catches Cody's attention even with all the painkillers he's on. If this was a video game, this would be the time when Obi Wan levels up and unlocks the path toward real friendship (and maybe something deeper) with Cody. The genuine care he has shown him, not just for him as a soldier but as a person causes Cody to reevaluate some things. He already genuinely liked Obi Wan. The Jedi has more than earned his trust. But now he’s like “Okay, this guy took time out of his day to come and see if I was alright because he wanted to. It wasn’t a matter of duty. He, personally, was worried so to soothe that worry, he went out of his way to come and check on me.” Cody figures out he really means something to Obi Wan and that’s a weird sort of feeling since he has only ever had his brothers to look out for him. He sees the man behind the titles and that man looks way more vulnerable than he expected him to and it really makes Cody begin to feel something new for him. It's a feeling he doesn't quite understand yet though.
As for when Cody actually realises, I think it would be after an arc like the Battle of Umbara. A moment in the war where there are a lot of clone casualties. Cody comes off as a very serious, stoic person but it doesn’t mean he actually is. That’s just how he presents himself. But even if he was, one person can only take so much. He would take all the casualties much harder than normal. It would’ve been building up for a while and then this latest tragedy in a long line would finally cause him to snap (of course Cody snapping is vastly different from most people because he still largely has his shit together).
Of course, Obi Wan is no stranger to loss. He doesn’t want to risk comparing their experiences, but he does come to see Cody. They don’t talk immediately. He just sits with him so he isn’t alone.
After a while, Cody tells him he’s not sure how much more of it he can take. Obi Wan has no idea how he manages it. Losing Qui Gon was bad enough for him. He can’t imagine what it would be like for him to lose more of the Jedi. Don’t worry dude you’ll find out pretty soon.
Instead, he starts to tell Cody about what the Jedi believe about loss. It isn’t a lesson. He isn’t preaching at him. He’s just trying to share part of his life with a man he deeply cares about. Cody knows that. Obi Wan tells him that from the very beginning of their training, the Jedi masters reiterate over and over that the force flows through everything. It’s the foundation of the entire Jedi religion. The force is the only constant in the universe. To the Jedi, there is no death. You can’t ever really die, you just become one with the force. Cody asks him if he really believes that, or if it actually makes him feel better. Obi Wan answers that he knows it’s the truth. If he closes his eyes and focuses hard enough, sometimes he thinks he can still feel Qui Gon’s presence in the force. He’s not entirely sure how much of it is real and how much of it’s in his head though. On bad days, it doesn’t make him feel better. It still hurts that he’s gone, but when he’s able to think more rationally, it can be quite reassuring. He just tries to live his life in a way that he hopes honours Qui Gon and he tells Cody that’s what he does every day. There’s a reason why his brothers look up to him so much. There’s a reason why he was made commander so quickly. They listen to him and they trust him to look out for them, so just by being himself, he honours their memory. He also says he knows Cody can’t feel the force, but when he first came to Kamino, he was struck by just how brightly he and all his brothers shine in the force. It’s proof they’re alive, no matter what anyone in the senate says, and the force has a place for them too. They aren’t an exception and they won’t be left behind.
I know Mando’a is used a lot in fics, but realistically I don’t think Jango would’ve cared to spend enough time with the clones for them to pick up some of his language. I love the fics that do it, but going with the idea that they don’t understand Mando’a, I think Obi Wan would go on to talk about what he knows about Mandalorian culture because he truly believes its relevant to the clones and that they should be allowed to have some sort of connection to it because they came from a Mandalorian. Over the years, he’s learned a lot and has picked up different pieces of the language but there’s one phrase that stuck with him. It’s a phrase you’ve probably seen used in fanfiction before.
"Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la "
"Not gone, merely marching far away"
He tells Cody he secretly likes this idea more than the idea of becoming one with the force, although he definitely shouldn’t. It feels somewhat like a betrayal of his ideals but the idea that all the people they lost aren’t gone forever, but are just marching ahead of them, brings him a lot more comfort. Maybe they can catch up with them eventually. He also points out that these two concepts are different but both go with the idea that death isn’t the end. With so many different cultures and religions across the Galaxy sharing this idea of there being something more than just this one life, they can’t all be wrong. It stands to reason that, one day, maybe they’ll meet again.
Cody can read between the lines. Obi Wan isn’t saying this to convince him to get over his grief, he’s sharing the weight of it with him. He’s letting him know that even Jedi struggle with this and that he isn’t alone. That to grieve is to be alive and that in order to feel grief, you have to have felt love first.
He also knows his Jedi well enough to see a little undercurrent of anger in Obi Wan’s words. Cody know what Obi Wan thinks of the clones and how they're treated. He knows he’s angry because the clones aren’t given the time or the resources to mourn their brothers. The Jedi have elaborate funerals and the clones gets nothing. Obi Wan needs Cody to know he’s not alone because he recognises that the rest of the galaxy is trying to make him feel like he is. He wishes he could give Cody some kind of justice. Cody knows he can’t and he doesn’t blame him. The Jedi had almost as little choice in being part of the war as the clones did.
It’s during this conversation that Cody realises he loves him. How could he not? It’s sort of his “fuck it” moment where he stops suppressing the feelings he obviously has because Obi Wan is trying so hard to be there for him. It’s a little overwhelming, if he’s being honest, because people do not take the time to say things like this to him. Obi Wan isn’t saying the things he’s saying to do anything other than reach out to him and hold onto him so he doesn’t get lost in his feelings (something that very nearly happened to him when he lost Qui Gon) and Cody loves him. After that point, there’s nothing he can do to avoid thinking about it. He loves him so much and he’s never loved anyone like this before in his entire life and he isn’t sure what to do with all that love. He loves Obi Wan because he earned his love so many times. Cody just hopes the Jedi can't feel how strong his feelings are. (Spoiler alert: he can.)
As for when Obi Wan realises, it would be something so small. Something really trivial that would make him realise.
Cody and Obi Wan get into an habit of doing paperwork together. They don’t need to talk to each other, it’s just to have the company. At one point, probably quite late at night, Cody started grumbling about how illegible Rex’s reports from the latest mission they were on together are. Rex is a fantastic soldier but his ability at filling in forms is catastrophic. Obi Wan just watches him get more and more frustrated and that’s when he realises that he could fill out boring paperwork with this man forever. In fact, he hopes he gets to, even after the war is over. Doing dull things with him is the part of his day he looks forward to the most. It’s grounding. Cody balances him out perfectly. They are just similar enough and just different enough that, when they have time together where they aren’t being shot at by droids or attacked by Separatists, Obi Wan feels so calm. He rarely gets to feel like that in his life. Cody is the only one who can evoke the feeling. The beauty of their relationship is in the little moments and that's when he knows.
17. Who fell in love first?
Definitely Obi Wan. I think Cody had feelings way earlier than most people think he did, but he needed longer to figure out what it was he was feeling. Obi Wan knew almost immediately though because it’s not the first time he’s felt this way. I will never ever downplay Satine’s importance in Obi Wan’s life and what Obi felt for her and what he feels for Cody are equally important but very different. Satine was his first love and so it was very strong feelings combined with a lot of guilt. He was still coming to terms with his identity and his place in the Jedi order. With Cody, he’s had time to grow up and learn to process these things better and also not be so hard on himself. There’s something quieter about their love too. It's just as strong, but there’s simultaneously something much calmer about it. I also wholeheartedly believe this man is a hopeless romantic, he just can’t act on his feelings because he’s a Jedi so they’re like stories in his head he can use to escape from reality for a while if he needs to. It’s like his happy place. He imagines all the things he’d do with Cody if there wasn’t a stupid war in the way and he didn’t have any responsibilities. And they aren’t impossible fantasies or anything. The feelings between them are mutual. There’s a chance one day when the war is over, maybe just maybe they could find a way to make it work. If anyone could do it, it would be them. It's an idea Obi Wan holds very close to his heart when he feels run down or lost. The hope there is for the future, a future that Cody definitely has a place in if it's what he wants. The war has changed the Jedi order permanently anyway. Obi Wan wonders what else could change and what possibilities it could lead to.

ANALYSIS OF MIRACULOUS LADYBUG. ORIGINS PART 1 LADYBUG AND CHATNOIR (PART 3, analyzing wayzz)
ANALYSIS OF MIRACULOUS LADYBUG. ORIGINS PART 1 LADYBUG AND CHATNOIR ( part 2)
Very good, let's continue with the analysis remember where we came from, I left the link above so you don't get lost.
well after the butterfly miraculous activates and hawkmoth comes to light we have the following sequence.
Wayzz sleeping in his walk and here we have to stop, because there is a lot to analyze, started by wayzz.
Tumblr media
KWAMY WAYZZ
The first thing is to look at the name, LET'S BREAK IT DOWN
WA- Y-ZZ
It starts with "W", if we turn it around, what do we have? Aha, an "M" and the name of our 4 main protagonists begins with "M", Marinette, but also notice that the next letter is "A", which would confirm that it refers to Marinette, what does that mean? ? Well, Marinette is going to be protected by Félix, that is, one of Félix's priorities is going to be her protection, because Wayzz represents that, but let's also remember who guards Wayzz, aha Fu, and who is Fu? the magician and the magician is Félix, so there we have the clue, Fu has Wayzz, Félix has Marinette, he takes care of her, but also, if we take into account that it is a literal "W", they are "2 v", This can mean 2nd victory, we know that she will be between Adrien and Félix, a "2 v", it would be telling us that she will have a second victory that corresponds to Félix, this also referring to a 2nd chance, (after Adrien's thing goes wrong )
Tumblr media
then we have a "Y" which will serve as a link for the following.
And notice that the name has only one consonant that is doubled, "2Z" unlike nooroo, this tells us about the number 2, let's remember the importance of the number 2 in Marinette, which would confirm the above.
Tumblr media
But what I'm going to tell you is going to blow your mind, if we turn the "Z" to the right, what letter comes out? the "N" and which character has the initial "N" and currently has Wayzz, NINO! His name has "2N", which would be "2Z" rotated, (I mean, THEY ALREADY GAVE US THE CLUE THAT NINO WAS GOING TO BE THE CARRIER OF THE TURTLE)
Tumblr media
freaking right? What does this tell us? Well, on the one hand, this confirms the feligami and the felinette:
-the feligami because in this last part of Kwami's name there is Nino and Nino is Alya's boyfriend and who is Alya according to the previous post? Kagami and who is Kagami's boyfriend, Felix, so he would be confirming ship for us feligami.
Tumblr media
-the felinette because if, as we know, nino is the one who leads wayzz then this means the same as fu, nino is Alya's boyfriend and therefore Kagami, and we have said that then they represent the feligami, so if nino is Félix, Thus, because of that rule of three, that would indicate that Félix actually opted for his protection, that is, marinette, therefore we have ship felinette, also note to highlight this that Carapace and Argos have a very similar aesthetic, especially they both have a hood.
Tumblr media
so the feligami is necessary for the felinette to emerge, that is why it is before the felinette, but after the adrinette, AT SOME POINT THE FELIGAMI WILL BREAK
So now we join the first group of syllables with the last bone "wa" and the "zz" (we get wayzz together, logically)
WA-Y-ZZ
-WA=MARINETTE
-ZZ=NINO=FELIX
THEN WE HAVE FELINETTE, FELIX WITH MARINETTE, WE FIND THIS LINK IN THE NAME OF KWAMY WAYSS, WAYZZ REPRESENTS PROTECTION, THEREFORE, FELIX PROTECTS MARINETTE, BUT NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THIS PROTECTION IS GIVEN ABOVE ALL BEING THE ARGOS, FOR THAT'S HER AESTHETIC IS SO SIMILAR TO CARAPACE'S, LOOK AT HER COSTUMES, WHAT MATCHES THE MOST IS THE HOOD, WHAT DOES THE HOOD PROTECT?, THE HEAD, WHAT IS THE ILLNESS THAT MARINETTE IS GOING TO HAVE?, AMNENSIA, disease that affects the loss of memory, bone the mind and it is, it is in the head, FELIX IS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF HER IN THAT PROCESS, WHICH WOULD JUSTIFY WITH GREATER STRENGTH BECAUSE HE IS READING, WRITING THIS STORY FOR HER, SO THAT SHE REMEMBER, what which in turn would confirm to us that this story is narrated/read/written by him.
Tumblr media
and to reconfirm this, remember animan, who was the first girl that boy was attracted to? hahaha marinette.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(hmm, it's suspicious that Félix actually always loved Marinette but never said anything, aaa it looks interesting, but we'll get to that chapter, which is really crazy)
Tumblr media
LET'S GO TO YOUR PHYSICAL
Tumblr media
THIS IS GOING TO TAKE TIME BECAUSE LOOK, WE'RE ALREADY GETTING INTO MORE CLUES AND DETAILS, (the more colors the more characters and therefore the more clues, the thing becomes more complex hahaha and it's just origins bro)
In this case we have 2 COLORS, ON THE ONE SIDE THE YELLOW AND ON THE GREEN. How do you get the green? The green comes out by mixing BLUE AND YELLOW, we see that there are also 3 types of greens! one light, one dark and one found on the shell looking strong green but if it turns out to be neon, so black and white also come into this, then based on that we will make a scheme (as with nooroo) *sorry if it's not exact, the shades of green.
But first I have to clarify two things so that you don't get confused, okay?
1st, as you can see, the neon green is not there, so Adrien is out of this equation. Here we are only talking about one boy, Félix.
2nd, yellow is both on its own and in the mix with blue, and then you start to think, this color, yellow, does not match any of the 4 main characters (Felix, Adrien, Kagami or Marinette) well. Yes, actually it is, it is from Kagami, only here it is included indirectly through the character of Chloe, as you know, here we have named her a lot, because through her we are told about Kagami through the clues that Yes, but of course one starts to think, but then Marinette? Well, yellow is also from Marinette, and where is it hidden? In CHLOE AND ZOE, if you look closely, Chloe and Zoe also have many similarities like Marinette and many differences with Chloe, so they are both polar opposites, but very similar. , just like Kagami and Marinette, both from eastern cultures, and so on but polar opposites, right? So through them we are told about our protagonists and of course, the color palette is there.
How do we know when he is referring to one and the other? aaa surprise, surprise, hahaha you have to look at the series scenes and the context, this is what makes the Miraculous show a puzzle, they make it entertaining and fun, you realize that, right?
ok, based on that we are going to make a brief outline of both and finally make the wayzz color scheme
QUICK ANALYSIS AND COMPARISON OF ZOE AND CHLOE
CHLOE =MARINETTE AND KAGAMI.
Tumblr media
ZOE=MARINETTE
Tumblr media
well now as we see, the color difference between zoe and chloe is black and white, that is, black stands out in zoe and white in chloe so this is similar to the pattern of kagami and marinette/ladybug, let's remember that black the ladybug stands out, the white one in kagami,
Tumblr media
Now look at both yellows, both in plain clothes and when they transform, Queen Bee's yellow is lighter than Vesperia's, which is a stronger yellow.
Tumblr media
This tells us that one is clearly kagami while the other is ladybug, this is how we differentiate them so we have to be attentive, with this clear we can finally make the diagram, to see what wayzz means.
[I can tell you that I think this means that Félix will be protecting both of them, with Ladybug and Ryuko, Marinette and Kagami...but let's continue]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So according to the scheme we have
-LIGHT YELLOW :CHOE/QUEEN BEE=MARINETTE/KAGAMI -LIGHT GREEN: FELIGAMI -DARK GREEN: -FELINETTTE/ARGONETTE/ARGOBUG -INTERMEDIATE GREEN:FELIGAMI AND FELINETTE/ARGOBUG
So all this is telling us that during the following seasons, surely starting with season 6, that Félix will be paying attention to Kagami and Marinette, to their heroine versions, (what I said above, is that as I analyzed it I already saw it coming hahaha) now, the dedication or attention he may have to both will depend on the context they show us, what we said above, I feel that they are giving us the clue that he is going to be among the 2nd at the level of protection and the romantic, that is, if Marinette was confused with Luka and Adrien and Adrien with Kagami and Ladybug, what would make you think that Felix can't be between the two, so this clue is subtle, but the question: where is he going? throw? kagami or marinette, well that's what physical traits are for, let's find out:
-EYES: we see the dark green and yellow eyes, let's remember one thing first, the eyes are important, because Felix represents the mythological creature Argos or known as "the one with a thousand eyes", yes? Let's remember that yellow represents both, but here it is on its own, without mixing, so this would highlight that Félix would be among the 2, he observes the 2, he watches over them, he takes care of them, and this happens in civilian life, literally, he watches over them. and he takes care of Marinette and Kagami, like espionage, because he is not immersed, I hope I explain myself well, both will be important to him, now the pupil is dark green, and here there are two things, first, this green is identical to that of the pupils of the eyes of Félix himself, which would indicate to us that Félix would not only take care of them as a hero but in civilian life, as a friend or boyfriend depending on who, but this would occur in both versions, but the final result will be Marinette and here the second thing, We see this because yes or yes it is dark green, and this verée includes the black, the black is from ladybug, the green pupil is superimposed on the yellow eyes, with that contrast it already shows you the path, the final result is felinette.
Tumblr media
-BODY AND SHELL: the body is light green, so it is clear that everything begins with the feligami, and that is something that is clear, because the series itself is showing it to us. What does the series show us? that Felix wants to take care of Kagami, in fact we see that he gives her freedom, that he frees her from her mother, so the protection begins with Kagami, now, we still don't know the reasons, but this attention is going to go away little by little. little to marinette and ladybug why? because if we do not look at the shell it becomes darker and greener, in other words blacker, a ladybug color, so for reasons that we will study later, Félix at some point is going to cut the protection or stop paying attention to it as much and become He is going to focus on taking care of Marinette and this will be in both versions, as Ladybug and as a civilian, we were saying that he was the one who was going to take care of her when she lost her memory, so this only confirms it more, it is possible that he is even be the reason why he decides on Marinette, that is, he finds out the truth of being a guardian and that she will forget him. Then he decides to take care of her, also pay attention to an important detail, the shell is when What the turtles use in the face of danger, they use it to hide, then the turtle hides the entire body, and the body is basically the feligami and the felinette pulling felinette, osa is clear, the protection is clear is for marinette, bone the felinette triumphs .
Tumblr media
CONCEPT AND JEWEL
Wayzz represents the concept of "protection", and here there is not much to say, I think it is quite clear, through wayss they tell us about how to be protective and careful Felix, both in civilian life and when it is Argos, now Well let's focus on the jewel.
There is a lot to analyze, we know that the shape of a jewel is not the same when it is off as when it is activated or when one is transformed, it undergoes various changes, shapes and colors. The wayzz miraculous is one of the first to come out and the one that undergoes the most changes so let's analyze it
-TRANSFORMATION OF THE MIRACULOUS: the first thing we can see is that at the color level it changes, it starts out as navy blue, moving to 2 colors, black and navy blue, the first thing that catches our attention is that the color of this miraculous is blue and not green, wayzz being a wide range of greens in various shades, navy blue is the representative color of sass, the kwami of the snake, what does sass represent? the 2nd chance, do you remember what we talked about above about the W, 2V, a second victory? Well, this would be further confirming what was above, that somehow Felix is going to be a 2nd chance in Marinette's life, and this will be both in civilian and in heroes, because when the miraculous is changed, the black one appears, the black we know is representative of ladybug, but this black is not a black black, it is a black with a certain shine, with a certain glitter, which reminds me of the black that the chatnoir in the movie had, which if you look at the chatnoir design from the series and the movie is very different, the black of the mask, if this clue takes us to the chatnoir of the movie and the movie is inspired by the pv, who was chatnoir in the pv? FÉLIX!, which would not be confirming that both Félix and Argos are going to protect Marinette and Ladybug, that is, this is going to be as a friend, boyfriend and couple of superheroes, but there is more, black is also the color of chatnoir, which which could already give us the clue that Argos is going to take the place of chatnoir, first being only Argos and then being Felix himself with the miraculous of the cat, Ladybug would have a second chance, a battle companion, a true companion who would help and take care of her.
Tumblr media
-GEOMETRY: well now let's look at its geometry, first say that this miraculous has the shape of a hexagon, a hexagon has 6 sides, if we divide it in half we have a 3, 3 and 3, 33 again 33 Where does it take us? 33? aha to the arts classroom, therefore to kagami, which would be confirming what we said above, that initially the protection goes to kagami, but finally it was decided on marinette, why? because we see that when the miraculous transforms, the black area that forms the miraculous made up of the hexagon has each and every one of the lines in the center in a circle, the polka dots and circles are symbolic of ladybug, so the final destination will be that Félix (who we have said transformed into a chatnoir thanks to this black man) protects Marinette and Ladybug in the end and chooses to be their battle partner.
Tumblr media
Now, we see that the miraculous is divided into what amount to 10 rhombuses, 5 and 5, a rhombus inside another, a rhombus has 4 sides, 4 and 4 give 8, if we multiply the 8 by the number of rhombuses they would be 40, all these are numbers, they are representative of Ladybug and Marinette, but these rhombuses are amorphous, that is, neither their sides nor their angles are equal, which represents the abstract figures, Felix, and these figures are navy blue, 2 chance, Therefore confirmed once again the above, finally Felix is going to protect Marinette and this will be an opportunity that destiny will offer to Marinette as a gift for everything she has suffered, Felix would be her battle partner and he will take care of and protect her. she.
Tumblr media
Finally, from the sides of the miraculous, 4 4-sided spikes come out, it is not necessary to put a drawing or diagram for something like this, if we add everything we have an 8 again, so it is very confirmed who wins the game hahaha LADYBUG/MARINETTE
Nobody likes kagami hahaha
Well, I'm going to leave the analysis here. ufff, it was intense, no ahaha but it was necessary, now you can understand things better, I know that these analyzes are a little long and heavy but it is necessary since we are with the basics, but after having analyzed you will see how we are going faster, the analyzes They will be simple and not with so much numerology and geometry.
NEXT PART >>>
THANK YOU FOR READING AND FOR YOUR SUPPORT, like and follow me to be aware of all the analysis, a big hug, see you.

Monthly nonsense 23.11
So I started to read the history again. Because he is the representative of his civilisation, even though we are of different races and our cultures must be far apart. I had to have more knowledge about the human culture before I could have a basis for an idea of his culture.
I don’t need to search sacrifice from others fictions,my people’s history has so many of them.
There's some good words in my language can discribe those solders' spirit, but english don't have them. A pity.
Maybe the word 'martyr' can explain part of it. But not for religious. For faith, for all of us a better life.
The ME's writer may not know what a 'memory shard' means for my race.
"No fight, no future. " "This cycle is doomed, unless there's a miracle. And miracles are what we must strive for with all our might." "Our deaths are inevitable, but it's all worth it in the passing of the flame to the next cycle. "
The consciousness of the Protheans in Javik's time would have been sublime. They no longer thought only of their own race, their own cycle.
He's absolutely a hero.
Wish he can have some kind of hope after war.
Casualty exchange ratio
His story summit is just over one hour. Too little, and too precious for me. I wait until I almost forget all of it then look back a little. Hope it can always be fresh to me.
In fact javik did not told Shep what's the actual 'weakness' of prothean empire. He indicate it is linked with 'all united together'.
I really enjoyed the philosophical musings in Shepard and Javik's daily conversations, especially on the subject of AI versus organisms. It's a shame it's only a few dozen lines of dialogue in the game. He really has a lot on his mind. He has a strong moral and philosophical view of the world, and he's been educated in more than just the parts necessary for a soldier. Had he been an adult in a time of peace, he would undoubtedly have been a fine scholar; he wasn't the type to be a passive recipient of others' ideas. If he writes books after the war, I'd like to read his thick, brick-sized series of essays on his ideas about AI; his philosophy of race.
Javik says that the Zha's mistake was to implant devices to enhance their intelligence, and that this led to the creation of Zha'tl. And he apparently believes that the rise of Zha'tl was an aberration, and that the Zha were subjugated and enslaved by their implanted AI. The Protheans, staunchly anti-AI, would have resisted their own implanted devices. At the very least, 'implanted devices to enhance intelligence can lead to a loss of control' is a lesson deeply embedded in the consciousness of every Prothean. They may also develop robotic hands, robotic eyes, or even entire mechanical bodies, but turning the brain into a chip and running multiple cores, as in 'Battle Angel Alita' ; or fusing Motoko's mind with the AI's consciousness, as in 'Ghost in the Shell', must be an absolute prohibition for them. Their ethics on genetic modification are obviously very loose, as they would modify the genes of the primitive Asari, and they would probably do genetic screening on themselves, as they are worshippers of evolution. However, they would certainly have no use for AI in this area, even though it would be a lot faster in terms of efficiency.
Honor must be a very important part in Prothean society.
The third day, his smile still compels me. This art is to pull my head and stab me with a small knife at the same time; while warming me up like a hot water bag. This only makes my blood flow faster. How do I draw a smile like this …… and then stab myself to death?
He tortured me for loving him.
Prothean don’t need primitives to fight Reapers.

31st July, 1794
Since it is Moncey’s birthday at this time of the year, I thought it would be interesting to present how he spent his birthday at another point in his life. As Col. Ramsay Weston Phipps supplies in Vol. 3 of his Armies of the First French Republic, 228 years ago to this date, on his 40th birthday, Moncey was engaged in operations in the Baztan Valley on the Spanish frontier, as part of the Armée des Pyrenées-Occidentales, or the Army of the Western Pyrenees. At that time, he had recently been promoted to general de brigade due to his actions at the Battle of Sans Culottes Camp (which was the actual name of the French camp), an affair which Phipps describes as thus:
[On the 5th of February, 1794,] Lieut.-Colonel [or chef de bataillon] Moncey had been ill for a fortnight and intended to go back to Bayonne next day. This morning he was in bed, having taken an emetic, when he heard the noise of the attack. Hastening to his men, weak as he was, he remained on the field until he had seen the withdrawal of the enemy. For this the Representatives, making him skip a rank, on the 18th February 1794 promoted him General of Brigade, basing this not only on his conduct at Château-Pignon on the 6th June 1793 and by Saint-Jean-de-Luz on the 23rd July, and this last affair, but also on the attachment of his comrades for him. (vol. 3, p. 150.)
From the above, Moncey seems to have been held in esteem for his conduct and person since the Revolutionary days, and that would not change throughout the Empire and Restoration. His superiors’ trust in him was further evidenced when Moncey’s commander-in-chief Jacques Muller ordered him to assault the Baztan Valley in late July 1794.

Image from Wikipedia’s English article of the Battle of the Baztan Valley.
It is significant of the regard in which Moncey was already held, that he, only recently promoted, was sent to the right to command the strongest column and the one which was to deal the first and most important blow. Whilst Mauco and Marbot kept the enemy in Roncesvalles in check, three columns were formed to seize the Baztan valley, and then marching westwards to roll up the Spanish line on the Bidassoa. On the night of the 24th July Moncey with some 10,000 men (13 battalions and 800 horse) began his march, and coming over the Col de Maya he next day seized the Baztan valley, where his troops enjoyed the sight of the rich country they had reached. […] On the 27th July, while Robespierre was being overthrown, Moncey started from Elizondo in the Baztan valley with 6,000 men and, marching for thirty-two hours by the difficult Echalar (or Atchiola) road across the mountains, he joined Delaborde at Lesaca, whence the two, 12,000 strong, marched west to support the attack of the right column from Hendaye and the mouth of the Bidassoa. It was intended that, when Moncey and Delaborde should arrive, Frègeville with the right column (6,000 men) should cross the river and attack the fortified camp of San Martial, which covered Irun. Frègeville, however, not knowing that Moncey had been delayed in his mountain march, advanced on the 1st August. Then the Spaniards, aware that Moncey and Delaborde were now in their rear, blew up their works and retired with heavy loss. This caused the surrender of the virgin fortress of Fuenterrabia. (vol. 3, pp. 186-187.)
The event in itself is not of as much interest as what can be read between the lines. Moncey spent his 40th birthday 'toughing it out' on rough mountain roads—barren terrain unlikely to provide more for a meal than the rations brought with him, and more for comfort than the clothes on his back, neither of which could have amounted to much in the first place with the army’s poor supplies. There was precious little a way to celebrate anything aside from doing so verbally, or perhaps draining a last reserve of alcohol, and likely that birthday went unacknowledged in the midst of operations. When slotting such an insignificant moment into the two decades of constant wars of the Revolution and the Empire, one begins to wonder how many Marshals and generals spent their birthdays in warzones, how many of those birthdays were celebrated, or, if lost in the throes of campaigns, they remembered their birthdays at all. And, with all the soldiers that constituted Napoleon's Grand Army, one wonders how they commemorated their birthdays in war, if they ever did; how many lost a comrade around or during an anniversary, how many had larger historical events dwarf their own birthdays—and how many lost their lives just before they were to gain another year of it.
The Moncey of 1794, of course, would get to live for many years longer. In the next few days, he would go on to finish off the business along the Baztan Valley, unhinging the Spanish defensive position along the frontier:
[W]hile Delaborde and Frègeville were sent south along the Madrid road to Hernani, Moncey moved on across their rear, still westwards, for San Sebastian. This fortress was held by some 1,700 men, but Moncey sent Captain La Tour d'Auvergne to harangue the commandant: his eloquence was successful, and the garrison laid down their arms on the 4th August. Next day Frègeville occupied Tolosa. Besides a mass of prisoners the French had taken all the park of the enemy. It was a fine victory …. (vol. 3, pp. 187.)
And a fine (if late) present for a military man’s birthday, one hopes.
