No pictures of today’s movement but I walked a beautiful 1.5 miles with my greyhound and my love on a trail loop and then did a 20 minute yoga session when we got home.
I have a GI appointment finally on the 5th and I’m very nervous.. the paperwork before hand kicked my brains ass tonight and now I have a terrible headache. Anyway, I am staying optimistic! Good things are coming!

Today’s Flickr photo with the most hits: a German toilet (2008)
The arrangement of German porcelain fixtures is interesting: the faeces doesn’t drop into the water. It sits on a shelf, stinking. On the plus side, you can inspect it closely and monitor your bowel health - or otherwise.

Low Carb vs Insulin Sensitivity
Hello my lovelies I am having an autoimmune flare presently and this has triggered the symptoms of Reactive Hypoglycemia (RH for short) as well. So it took several days before I could continue this blog post today. The flare I think was on its way a few days ago as I started waking up more than usual. My blood glucose which was fairly stable, started waking me up with autoimmune symptoms and…

UNCOMMON things I've successfully manifested
(things haven't seen many posts about, but are actually quite beneficial)
Shorter and lighter menstrual cycle- went from having 4 day periods to 1.5 to 2 day periods.
Healthy and smooth bowel movement- when I tell you I spend less than 5 minutes on the toilet each time. No huffing or puffing or forcing anything out.
Powerful and satisfying orgasms each time I masturbate- this one doesn't really need an explanation
Feeling satisfied after a few bites of food- Even if it's my favorite foods. Pacing myself while i eat and enjoying the food, and not overeating and stuffing my face

About 12 million people in the United States – nearly 5% of the adult population – have chronic pain that is accompanied by anxiety or depression so severe that it limits their ability to work, socialize and complete daily tasks, according to a new study.
The co-occurrence of chronic pain with anxiety and/or depression (A/D) is well known, but little research has been conducted on its prevalence or impact. To see how often the symptoms occur, researchers at the University of Arizona Health Sciences analyzed responses from nearly 32,000 people who participated in the 2019 National Health Interview Survey.
Their findings, published in in the journal PAIN, show that adults with chronic pain are about five times more likely to report anxiety or depression than those without chronic pain. The risk is even higher in adults with “high impact pain” – pain severe enough to limit daily life and work activities -- who are eight times more likely to have A/D. "The study's findings highlight an underappreciated population and health care need -- the interdependency between mental health and chronic pain," said lead author Jennifer De La Rosa, PhD, director of strategy for the UArizona Health Sciences Comprehensive Pain and Addiction Center...
...Researchers say further studies are needed to see if people receiving pain treatment are also getting mental health care, and whether that care is helping with their symptoms. A recent study found that anxiety, depression and other mood disorders often precede the development of fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). (Read more at link)
Yeah that was exactly my experience. Struggled with depression and anxiety from early teens and then by late twenties I started developing chronic issues starting with IBS, but also eventually including Fibromyalgia and a herniated disk. Although I did suffer from severe migraines in my teens too that aren't as debilitating now.
Also there is a risk of taking benzos for anxiety and opioids for pain together. Some doctors won't even prescribe opioids to people on benzos like Klonopin and Ativan. I actually managed to decrease the amount of Ativan I need monthly by just smoking marijuana daily.

The reality of whatever the fuck is wrong with me. Is it endometriosis or sever ibs c? Who knows. I cant see a gynecologist until July so im just waiting and hoping at this point.
This is me after spending an hour on the toilet this morning, unable to fully empty my bowels despite lactulose taken in the early hours. It has been working for the past few days, but this morning it decided otherwise. I am getting my period on friday, currently on day 2 break of the pill. I am convinced this is all related to my menstral cycle as diet does not change my issues.
This is a major flare up and im stuck in the office today so have another 11 hours before im home. I dont feel comfortable using the toilets at work bc it takes me so long.
Just ranting and showing the reality of constipation and chronic illness. Please do not send me advice or ask if i have tried x, y, z.

Sometimes Self Care Is Hard
Sometimes it looks like resisting the urge to treat yourself to food you know will hurt you.
Sometimes it looks like turning off the screens to help prevent migraines.
Sometimes it's doing your best to sit still and meditate in the morning.
Sometimes self care is hard.
Sometimes you need a sweet treat to make a bad day better.
Sometimes you need to binge comfort shows to help distract you from spiraling.
Sometimes you need to have no agenda for the day.

Hypermobility is a spectrum disorder: its not all about subluxations!
There’s a very classic view of what hypermobility syndromes are or look like…in the case of hEDS, many joint subluxations and the like; basically, symptoms that affect joints, not taking into account a whole other range of symptoms that can often present themselves as well as, or instead of, major joint issues. Also a persistent viewpoint, maintained by GPs, that it is a rare condition (by the…

The No.1 Poo & Gut Scientist: If Your Poo Looks Like This Go To A Doctor...
Hello lovelies this was a very interesting podcast with someone I’ve followed for a while now. His information has helped me with gastrointestinal issues. Mr V has healed his leaky gut through the information Dr Will Bulsiewicz has given via interviews such as these. (it’s time stamped in chapters for anyone who want to skip to parts relevant to themselves) it’s a long interview but I was happy…

I have a combo colonoscopy and endoscopy tomorrow so I’m on a clear liquid diet today and lemme tell you, nothing makes you hungrier than not being allowed to eat!!! I’m off work today on account of being glued to the toilet from 5:00 onwards, and also because I’d probably physically murder someone by the end of my shift — the problem is that I have nothing to distract myself from the fact that there is food in this house and I can’t eat it!!!! But I’m glad to do it because it means that I might finally get some answers to my health problems. And the office lady has been super nice! And it’s less than 24 hours until I’m allowed to eat again! So all in all not terrible! OH YEAH I also got Sutab instead of the Hell Jug of prep, so I’m super grateful for that. Highly recommend if you’re getting a colonoscopy.
I also want to tell you that they always put apple juice on the approved list of clear liquids but it doesn’t have to be apple juice! I’m slamming back a jug of white cranberry and peach juice. If you can read the newspaper through it, it doesn’t matter if it’s a different flavor than apple. Get things you know you’ll like!
Final note: you’re allowed to eat jello that is clear and the correct color, and you should definitely stock up. It makes you feel like you’re eating something.

hi! would you happen to know any communities (tumblr, discored, something along those lines) for people with autoimmune disorders? not like a i hope we all get better toxic positivity thing because we arent going to get better and neither a place that kinda sends you into a spiral ig? i'm looking for a community where i would be able to share my struggles with people, listen to theirs, and ultimately just exchange tips on how to make life better for ourselves.
Hi. I just usually followed the #chronic illness, #ableism, #cripplepunk, #disability, #spoonie tags and also @thebibliosphere and @naamahdarling. @compassionatereminders is a general sort of positivity blog by a disabled person, I also follow @cbspoons
To be honest, nearly all my mutuals are disabled and mentally ill in some way so I've never felt the need to go out and actually find anybody? 🤔 I've stopped actively following the disability tags on here a while ago because I was so angry and depressed that seeing other disabled people in the same boat started to depress me more. And if I want info on something specific I just search the tag on here. Goldmine of info I swear.
If you want information however, you really can't beat Disability Twitter. It hasn't gone anywhere, Muskapocalypse notwithstanding, and it's been a huge convergence point for information sharing and advocacy for Long Covid in the West. Iman Barbarin would be your starting point, she's @crutchesandspice on Tumblr but more active on Twitter. The Fat Doctor is also an essential follow (except their tweets are protected so they have to approve your follow request) and so is Kivan Bay. Honestly there's a huuuge overlap between Trans Twitter, Fat Liberation and Disability Twitter because they all come under the disability justice umbrella. Downside as always is that it's all very US-UK-focused.
You can follow me too if you like (Inflammatory Bowel Disease, chronic fatigue, arthritis, bipolar, salad bar of mental illness), but fair warning, I am extremely suicidally depressed rn, even though I've been getting a lot of help finally. I put all my downspirals under a cut and tag the shit out of those posts, but this blog might not be the best for your own mental health just fyi. 😬
Followers feel free to add any blogs you can think of!
