Edit : sorry for portraying the stereotypical blue equal masc, and fem equals pink thing on these. The original bi flags meanings aren’t defined like that (bi flag meaning) , I was already aware of the meanings as I made these but I had the intention of these flags having separate meanings, different from the original I didn’t really think too hard on the colors tbh I just really wanted to stick to the same aesthetic of the bi flag but with these versions having symbols on them too show an attraction preference.

reminder to everyone that trauma IS a valid reason to use aspec labels. "i don't know if i'm aspec or just traumatized—" protip!!! you can be both!!!! the thing about labels is that they're not immutable states of being that you're born as. they're literally just words that we use to describe our lived experiences, and if asexual or aromantic or any related label feel relevant to the way that you experience attraction, whether it's a result of trauma or not, they're there for you to use. having trauma as a cause does not invalidate the fact that someone is experiencing lesser or no attraction. that's still the aspec experience babey. use the label if you want it's there for you <3

I have had exactly 3 "crushes" in my entire life.

Each and every single time it was a Lie.

One time it was because my cousin had one and I was accidentally using her as a measurement of growth in comparison.

One was a "I don't even know this person so it's unlikely they'll ever talk to me". Spoiler, they never did, and I moved away like two months later.

And one was just a straight up lie to pacify my family and he had a girlfriend. (Which is how I justified never making a move).

gender and sexuality labels are so fucking hard how am i supposed to know how what i experience (already hard to pin down) compares to what "normal people" experience (completely unknown to me)

Fun thing about sexuality is you're allowed to examine and puzzle over your identity for ages and eventually just go "fuck it" and sticking with a slightly vaguer label

genuine question because i really would like to know more: what is the difference between allonormativity and amanormativity vs. heteronormativity?

#i am not here to start Discourse TM i just genuinely would like to understand and i haven’t found an explanation that made sense to me #for the record im not saying or implying that amanormativity/allonormativity is FAKE #what i am saying is that i dont understand what those words mean well enough to see how theyre meaningfully different from heteronormativit #again! i do believe that allo+amanormativity Exist #im mostly just wondering if they exist as a Separate phenomenon from heteronormativity #or if its an intersectional term that refers to the unique way which heteronormativity harms aspec people #like for example: the idea that everyone should be married as a foregone conclusion and major life stage #i feel like its hard to say that the people who believe that aren’t saying it with a Very Specific (ie straight) marriage in mind #same goes with the idea that everyone should be interested in sex — in my experience that is Always specifically *hetero* sex #but i can see how those beliefs would impact aspec people differently than #lesbian/gay/bi/etc people #basically idk! anyone more informed than me can lmk :)#also if this breaches containment and anyone starts acting like an asshole i will block on sight
