HIII COULD YOU DO THE UPPER MOONS WITH A CRYBABY READER? (A thought of mine,of them taking care of me while I sit and cry and babble in there arms about something small 😖😖😖)
Aww, i love this idea! yes i’ll definitely do it!
Tumblr media
➤ Uppermoon’s reaction to their S/O being a crybaby
➤ headcanons
Uppermoons x crybaby!GN!reader
including: Muzan, kokushibo, Douma, Akaza and the Hantengu clones (Sekido, Karaku, Aizetsu & Urogi)
warnings: smaller reader, mentions of murder, semi-nsfw?
Tumblr media
Muzan Kibutsuji
• We all know how he is.
• Being the demon king, he isn’t the very best at comfort. I think we’re all aware of that.
• Isn’t fazed by your crying. i mean, it isn’t anything new to him. He murders and eats people on a daily basis so crying isn’t something that’s unusual for him to witness..
• However, it’s YOU crying.
• You crying makes Muzan feel… not good.
• He can’t really explain it.
• All he knows is that he strongly dislikes seeing/hearing you cry.
• At first he scolded you for showing such emotions. But then he only realized he made you cry more afterwards.
• Muzan feels horrible. But you’ll never hear that coming from him.
• The two of you are the complete opposite.
• He only got angry at you for crying at first because you were crying over something so stupid and second of all he didn’t want to admit he didn’t like seeing you cry and has no idea how to comfort you properly.
• He doesn’t want to come off as weak.
• Eventually, he’ll own up, apologize for his behavior. After all, he didn’t really mean it. (Believe it or not)
• Muzan isn’t just so great with emotions and he isn’t used to have such an emotional S/O.
• Will stroke your hair as you lay your head in his lap.
• He’ll listen to you vent about whatever upset you. Even if it’s stupid in his eyes.
• “You weep over such silly things, my dear.”
• Muzan will hush and wipe your tears. Thats all you’ll get.
• Now if SOMEONE upset you, they’ll be dead immediately. No questions asked.
• Muzan doesn’t care if you don’t want it. He’ll do it anyway or just lie and say he won’t do it. Which he will
• Doesn’t give a shit who it is either. Even if it’s a family member he’ll destroy them.
• Because how dare they make his beloved S/O cry?
• He’ll literally torture whoever made you this upset. So that’s another way of him showing his love for you. Even if it’s in a horrific way.
• Then he’ll proceed to tell you about how he killed the person who made you sad. 😟 (Doesn’t leave out any details)
• Goes into a state of severe confusion as you cry more. He expects you to treat him like a superior being and says you should be thankful he decided to lend you his presence and time in the first place..
Tumblr media
Kokushibo
• Like Muzan, he isn’t an expert when it comes to comforting someone.
• He’s used to being solitary so this is all new for him! Please understand.
• But unlike Muzan, Kokushibo won’t be annoyed by your crying.
• Kokushibo has cried himself before so why should he judge you? (Even though he’s only cried like.. once)
• All though Koku has cried before. It was awhile ago and he barely remembers it. However, he isn’t a crybaby.
• He’s honestly surprised by how much you cry.
• Never has encountered a human who cries as much as you do.
• It comes to a point where sometimes he feels helpless.
• Kokushibo isn’t very vocal. So expect him to be more on the physical side when it comes to comfort.
• Words of affirmation isn’t his strong suit either.
• Becomes immensely confused when you cry more whenever he hugs you. (You cry more when people comfort you)
• Like huh?? Why did you start to cry more?? Should he stop??
• Kokushibo will just pick you up bridal style and set you down on a futon. He’ll cuddle you for awhile until you fall asleep in his arms.
• Isn’t the type to give you advice nor is he responsive but he’ll definitely listen to you.
• Just holds you against his chest as you sob into his embrace.
• Will brutally murder anyone who upset you. He isn’t going to let that shit slide.
• If you beg him not to he’ll be hesitant. He wants to kill them for you but at the same time he doesn’t want to make you further upset if he does carry out the murder.
• Let’s all be blunt, in the end, he won’t listen to you. He won’t let anyone get away with hurting his S/O.
• Kokushibo will know this’ll upset you more but he does it anyway. He doesn’t want anyone messing with you.
Tumblr media
Douma
• Oh great heavens..
• Out of all the uppermoons he’s definitely the most touchy/affectionate/comforting. (somewhat)
• Knows how to comfort others. (But it’s not genuine)
• With you it’s entirely different though!
• Butttt he’s still the type to tease his S/O. His toxic trait is that this sadistic basted finds great pleasure in seeing you cry.
• The way you’ll cling yourself to HIM, in need of HIS attention and comfort, desiring HIM and no one else:
• Douma FEEDSSS off that shit.
• Gets off by how vulnerable you get. (New turn on)
• Another thing is that he won’t severely pity you when you cry. After all, he’s not the best when it comes to emotion.
• Also not the type to be fazed by your crying state. i mean, he deals with his followers crying to him ALL the time about their stupid problems.
• Does not give a fuck about them.
• He is USED to not giving a fuck. That’s why he’s surprised he cares whenever you’re crying. Even if it’s over something so minor.
• Douma cares but doesn’t understand fully, yk?
• You need to be patent with him. After all, emotion is new for him. (He only experiences it around you)
anyway..
• Babies you whenever you cry.
• “Oh, my, my! What’s wrong, my sweet lotus?”
• As soon as he sees your tear-stained face he’ll just snatch you up without even asking and pull you onto his huge lap.
• Adores how adorable you look on his lap! You’re so tiny in his arms like this!!
• Let’s you babble about whatever upset you.
• Honestly, he ain’t even listening, he’s just admiring how vulnerable you look right now.
• He’ll just pepper your face in kisses and wipe your tears away.
• Cups your face and whispers sweet nothings into your ear. Douma reminds you that everything will be okay and that you’re safe with him.
• Sometimes he licks your tears.
• Teases you relentlessly if you cry over something stupid.
• Will instantly kill anyone who made you upset.
• Douma usually eats people when they’re this upset so they no longer have to bare the pain but he doesn’t want to eat you. Surprisingly.
• Confused by his own feelings.
• There was a time where you were upset and Douma straight up asked you if you want to be eaten by him.
• Yeah, bros a menace.
Tumblr media
Akaza
• This man is SOOO sweet about it.
• The first time you cried in front of him he flipped out😭
• Like huh?? what’s wrong?? are you okay??
• On the inside he’s panicking.
• Is surprised by how vulnerable you can get whenever you’re a mess like this.
• If you’re human, low-key enjoys the power imbalance.
• Though, Akaza absolutely despises witnessing you cry.
• Never makes fun of you. Even if you’re crying over something that others view as stupid. He won’t ever pass judgment towards you or even tease you.
• Akaza will 100% listen to you vent about whatever upset you.
• Oh? what’s that? SOMEONE upset you?
• Yeah, he is coming after them. even if it’s a woman.
• Doesn’t care.
• No one hurts his S/O.
• Akaza wants to protect you. Out of every uppermoon he is the most overprotective.
• Is almost TOO protective.
• You were growing relatively concerned for how overprotective he was. You mostly just didn’t want him to get hurt.
• “I have to ensure you’re safe at all times.”
• Kinda scary at times.
• He wants you out of harms way at all costs.
• Isn’t used to physical touch but whenever you’re sad he’ll definitely give you lots of cuddles.
• Will let you babble on and on.
• Isn’t the best advice giver but he’ll help you in his own way.
• Demons aren’t used to comforting others after all so he needs to ease up to it.
• Proceeds to ask you what he can do to make you feel better!
• You cry frequently and it honestly concerns him.
• Once you finally tell him you’re just sensitive and that you cry over things easily he’ll understand.
• Lays down with you and holds you firmly against his chest as you cry your little heart out.
• Forehead kisses too.
• Akaza is a gentleman! Would so cook your favorite meals whenever you’re having a bad day.
• He isn’t toxic in any way. Just his only red flag is probably being too overprotective? (If you could even call that a red flag)
Tumblr media
Sekido
• Let’s be completely honest.
• Sekido is going to be aggravated over the fact you’re a crybaby.
• He’ll be passive aggressive towards you.
• Not because he hates you, or because he’s mad at you. This is all just a cover up because he legitimately has no clue how to help you or comfort you.
• He’s very uneducated and inexperienced when it comes to this kind of situation.
• Sekido just grows more angered with myself that he doesn’t know how to help you. Instead of communicating with you about it he just takes his frustrations out on you.
• This makes you even more upset and only turns you into a bigger of a crybaby.
• Sekido secretly feels horrible.
• Eventually he mans up and apologizes stubbornly. Admits that he’s not used to comforting others and isn’t a fan of crying.
• Of course you forgive him because you know how he is. You know that he didn’t mean it.
• Sekido is not exactly uncomfortable around those who are sensitive. I mean, he deals with Aizetsu so he’s used to it.
• Sekido isn’t just used to comforting others.
• In fact, he’s HORRIBLE at it.
• The best you’ll get is cuddles (if you’re lucky)
• Then again, he ain’t used to this 😔😔
• Fortunately for you, Sekido will do his best to try and appear less intimidating around you.
• Lowers the volume of his booming voice for you and attempts to act more soothing around your presence.
• See? he does care. Just is not ideal at showing it.
• Like the other demons if anyone made you cry Sekido will definitely take care of them for you!
Tumblr media
Karaku
• THIS MAN ADORES YOU! (in a peculiar way..)
• The second he sees you a crying mess he’s scooping you up into his arms and cradling you.
• He’ll lay down with you and allow you to lay your head on his chest as you cry.
• Karaku will understand if you’re upset over something that actually makes sense but if it’s something tiny he’s like; ???
• Teases you about it:(
• Similar to Douma, he gets off by how you rely on him when you’re an emotional wreck.
• Sometimes Karaku will purposely make you cry because he’s lowkey a sadist.
• Karaku has that little secret smirk on his face whenever you start babbling about whatever it is upset you.
• Just shushes you as your babbling continues.
• First, he will comfort you before gladly executing the asshole who hurt your fragile little heart.
• “Awhh! It’s okay darlin’ you don’t have to worry about them anymore!!”
• Once he debated on whether or not he should tell you that he kills whoever upset you.
• Unlike the other uppermoons for some reason he doesn’t tell you that he killed the person who made you cry.
• Karaku doesn’t say anything in hidden fear that he’ll scare you more or make you cry again.
• Don’t get me wrong, loves comforting you, loves how you need him, but he also hates seeing you cry.
• Always wants you to feel satisfied and happy!
• Karaku will do ANYTHING in his power to get your tears to stop.
• Offers you sex to help you feel better 💀 (bros a hypersexual)
• However, if he’s having a bad day then he might not be the best at comfort. But if he’s not having a bad or unusual day then he dedicates all his time to you and you alone!
Tumblr media
Aizetsu
• Aizetsu understands you more than anyone else.
• He also has the strong tendency to be a crybaby himself.
• At first, Aizetsu will he too shy to comfort you.
• This is is mostly because he is afraid he might do something wrong.
• But eventually he gets over it.
• Aizetsu feels bad for you and would hate to leave you alone.
• He does what you do to comfort him whenever he’s upset.
• Like you, small things will trigger his emotions.
• So he relates to you in a way.
• Aizetsu adores you and loves you so much!
• Will give you all the attention and comfort you need.
• Aizetsu will even ditch missions just to take care of you. He’d hate to leave you alone.
• You’re always there for him whenever he’s feeling down so of course he’s going to do the same for you!
• He desperately wants to hurt whoever made you cry
• Unlike the others, Aizetsu will listen to you and not murder who hurt you if you protest against it. He respects you and doesn’t want you to feel even more hurt.
• Y’all are both big crybabies together.
• Crying sessions? yes. 100%.
• Aizetsu will hold you and play with your hair while whispering sweet nothings into your ear to soothe your nerves.
• Literally on the verge of tears whenever he sees you cry:(
• He isn’t a big fan of seeing you upset so he’ll do anything to make his precious S/O smile!
• “You don’t know how much your smile means to me..”
Tumblr media
Urogi
• HATES seeing you cry.
• Becomes veryyyy overprotective.
• But not to worry! He will never judge you.
• Might tease you a TINY bit though.
• Okay, i’m bluffing, he’ll tease you A LOT. not as much as Douma and Karaku though.
• Urogi will only really tease you when you’re crying over something small.
• Knows when something is up or when you’re holding back tears. It’s pretty damn obvious no there’s no need to lie to him.
• As i said before, Urogi won’t ever judge you!
• The moment you begin to break down you’re scooped up into his arms
• “Hey, hey, hey! what’s the matter, sweetheart?”
• Will pressure you into telling him what’s wrong.
• Isn’t too thrilled when he realizes how downright negative you are.
• Probably forces you to smile, he’ll gently use his talons to force your lips into a smiling while chuckling at you. (Tries not to accidentally cut you in the process)
• Gives you reassurance that he’s here for you and there is no need to feel upset!!
• Is more than happy to kill the unworthy bastard who made you dry.
• I feel like Urogi would just take you flying somewhere to get some fresh hair. That’ll help, right?!
• The type to wrap his wings around you. His wings are quite big so he loves seeing how tiny you look in them.
• Tickle fights? yes! definitely! Wants to see a real smile so this menace will begin ticking you out of no where until you’re a giggling mess.
• Urogi is the talkative type so he will keep talking to you in hopes that’ll calm you down/distract you at least.
Tumblr media
That’s about all! I apologize if some of them are shorter than the others. Thank you for sending in this request! i’m working on more at the moment so my apologies if it takes me awhile to post.

I keep making jokes that Luke and Qui-Gon are soulmates but then I started actually thinking about it now I’m starting to honestly believe it and I think it’s becoming a problem-
Like! Luke and Qui-Gon are both the hardest men to catch! Context clues tell us that Qui-Gon gets himself into a lot of trouble (Dooku saying he’s worried because he won’t be there to protect him) but Qui-Gon is never all that concerned, and I honestly think it’s because he pulls a Luke everytime and just stumbles his way out of trouble.
Qui-Gon, as I know and love him, is not an expert strategist, not really. He can come up with plans, but they’re pretty similar to Luke’s plans, ie, they have a beginning and an end but the middle consists of winging it. Luke is so much the opposite of a strategist that I firmly believe that the plan in Return of the Jedi was not solely created by him (only the dramatic flair was added by him. You know, the mischief-making and chaos-causing and bad guy baiting. I like to think Lando made him repeat the plan multiple times so that Luke wouldn’t go off script midway through because Luke Skywalker is totally the type of person to go off script midway through).
And! Qui-Gon Jinn with the Jedi Council and Luke Skywalker with the New Republic’s Senate. The only person who Luke ever listens to is Leia. We never even see him talk to another commanding officer! Does he even know who Mon Mothma is??? And, I just have to say it, in the Thrawn Trilogy, he straight up breaks Mara Jade, the former Hand of the Emperor and a woman who has threatened to kill him every time he so much as breathes, out of the house arrest that the New Republic placed her under. He breaks her out and he feels no shame whatsoever. The New Republic shows up to arrest him and Han and Han is the only one who seems concerned because Luke does not give a shit.
Luke doesn’t care about the New Republic! He cares about Leia and he cares about the people in the galaxy, but he doesn’t care about politics even slightly! He believes in hearing out both sides and judging things fairly, he is weird! Luke is a civilian! And they “let” him get away with so much, becausw they don’t actually have a choice! Nobody can control this madman! He decides “I’m leaving on a journey, you don’t need to know where to or for how long, bye!” and then he leaves!
Qui-Gon is much the same! In the Phantom Menace, yes, but also in the Cloak of Deception (“another novel, Kacie? They aren’t canon-“ shut up, canon is whatever I decide is canon because this is my character analysis and if the old authors got to portray characters wrong, so do I). Qui-Gon hears orders from the Order and he is only willing to listen to them if they coincide with what he believes he has to do. Which is completely what Luke does!
Both of these men are Jedi with green lightsabers. They are both rule-abiding citizens approximately eight percent of the time or whenever it’s convenient. They decide to leave and then do so without letting anybody know. They are both seen by other Jedi as reckless and impulsive, when we as the audience know that what they’re actually doing is following the will of the Force. They are the most obnoxious Jedi to spend time with because they toe the line between taking dangerous situations seriously and making little tonally inappropriate quips to the enemy. They both make the executive decision that the best way to get their point across to someone attacking them is to be as annoying as possible.
But, most importantly, they both make Anakin want to be a Jedi! They both inspire him, they both do things that Anakin sees and thinks “So that’s what a real Jedi is.” On opposite ends of Anakin’s life, Qui-Gon and Luke both have the same effect on him of making him want to be a better person! Without Qui-Gon, Anakin turned to the Dark Side, and without Luke, Anakin would never have rejoined the light. They play a similar role, symbolically.
And they both have that connection to Obi-Wan, where Anakin seems to assume Qui-Gon and Luke have both spent tons of time with Obi-Wan. (Seriously, Anakin definitely thinks Obi-Wan has been raising Luke to be a Jedi since childhood, there’s no other explanation for when he says “You’ve made a lightsaber? Great, congrats, you’re a Jeid Master now.” Unless lightsaber-crafting is WAY harder than I thought…)
Moving away from Anakin though, the two of them also have a similar relationship to Yoda. Yoda is extremely exasperated by Qui-Gon, and you can feel the exasperation whenever Yoda has to deal with Luke, too. But, he also is horribly, terribly, terrifically fond of both Qui-Gon and Luke. Yoda considers them his friends, and he considers himself both of their teacher because he is trying not to think about Dooku, okay, let him ignore the elephant in the room for a moment. He cannot stand the way either of these men refuse to use common sense, logic, or the brains they were given, but he also really enjoys spending time with them and misses them both when they leave.
Qui-Gon Jinn and Luke Skywalker are either reincarnation, soulmates, or the Force is just having a great time fucking with the Republic(s). Any way you spin it, I like that they are so strangely similar :D

My take on Tessa and ice dance is a little different. I think Tessa had within her from a young age a pretty strong ambition to be great. And she found Scott at that age and they both saw how they could work together to be great through ice dance. I think that ice dance was lucky to have her and if she hadn’t met Scott maybe she would have been great at ballet or something else. But despite her success as a skater, she actively separated her identity from skating and often didn’t really even seem to enjoy skating as much as the pursuit of their common goals.
But I think that once VM started to have a national profile and especially once they won in Vancouver, Tessa saw the possibilities of what her profile as an Olympic gold medalist could do to launch her post-skating career as an endorser or what we now know as influencers and that obviously grew exponentially after Pyeongchang. And you can see that from 2010 forward Tessa was building up a profile and making connections with Canadian celebrities and socialites that have been helpful in her post skating life. And at times it felt like she was almost waiting for the chance to launch her second act.
At the same time, Scott’s aspirations were closer to home. He came from a skating family, and he’s wanted to give back to his community. The kind of celebrity that Tessa pursued is anathema to him, and he feels most comfortable with people he’s known for a long time. And he has always seemed like someone who not only loves skating but really enjoys working with younger skaters — he always helped at skating schools when he had downtime when competing whereas the last place you would find Tessa in her free time is a skating rink. (The Lindt skating classes they did were work, not free time.)
I’m grateful that their partnership kept both of them competing and performing for so long. I doubt they would have lasted without each other. And I’m glad we still have Scott as a coach.
Hi!! 👋 Sorry for the late replay. First off, I want to put it out there that when I talk about Tessa not liking skating, I’m referring to everything pre-comeback. Tessa made it clear that she LOVED skating during the comeback, and thank god she got to experience that, if only for two years. Anyway. That’s interesting, in terms of Tessa thinking ahead to her life/career post skating, I never considered that the gears in her head would have been turning on that as far back as Vancouver. Thinking about it, I’d say maybe after 2012 worlds? At that point, Tessa realized that the sport was exhausting her. Even though they won worlds, she didn’t feel that thrill from the win that she thought she would. A year later she just wanted to quit.
Ultimately, they decided to stay in for Sochi. But yeah half way through the quad that, at the time, they thought was going to be their last, I’m sure Tessa was thinking ahead.
Your use of the word “influencer” to describe her is curious to me 😂 You’re definitely not the only one! But when I think of “influencers”, I think of people who produce regular content on either instagram or tiktok, build up a following through those videos, and then brands eventually start reaching out to them. They first become known because of their social media, not from any previous accomplishments or achievements like Tessa.
And as for making connections/networking, isn’t that just preparing for the future and acknowledging the fact that their skating career would end when they hit 30? And this just occurred to me, but I wonder if this especially dwelled on Tessa’s mind because they very nearly lost their career. Her leg pain was chronic. She knew more than many people that it all could feel and be so very fleeting.
“And at times it felt like she was almost waiting for the chance to launch her second act” is where I hesitate. I will say I only just got here 🫣 like this year, which is RARE I know!! So I’m not an expert on the subject. I just do my best to do my research and use my best judgement since I wasn’t actually there to witness it all unfold. If you mean she was waiting for it during the comeback era, I disagree. I don’t think there was any “waiting” going on. First of all, I think they had a very clear timeline. 2018 and they were done. And both were spending their energy focused as hell and soaking up every moment of their comeback. Whatever pursuits or thinking she did that involved her post career while they were in the midst of the comeback, it did not take away from their endeavor at the time.
If you mean she was waiting for it during the Sochi quad, in a way, they both were. Waiting for it to end, I mean. As I said, she (and he) were exhausted in every way. I would want it to end too. But the reason never was: “I want this to end so I can launch my second career and use my first career to back me up.”
And “anathema” is a bit of a strong word, no?💀 (had to look that one up). But I do agree that Scott finds comfort and familiarity in his “circle.” It’s true. They both run in quite different circles nowadays. And I don’t think either of them hold judgement against the other for that. They just recognize that that’s a significant difference in the type of people they are.
But as for Tessa not having chosen to involve herself in skating in her free time, I think that is part of her finding a separate identity from skating, as you mentioned in the beginning. Finding those boundaries was what was healthy for her. Because as much as she could find comfort in associating skating with Scott, the chronic pain it caused her, as well as all the toxicity she experienced from Canton, were very strong presences in her life too. Scott had a different relationship with skating. Besides loving it, a part of it is because men have different experiences with the sport. And pain-free people have different experiences with the sport. Scott is both of those things. (He experienced pain, but you get my meaning).
In the 22 years they gave us, VM showed us all the different things you could be on the ice: dancers, artists, athletes, performers, humans. They demonstrated loyalty to each other that could withstand the hardest of times. And they learned to support each other no matter what. Considering how long and how intensely they did all that, I sure hope they enjoyed their free time, however they chose to spend it. And I think they taught us plenty.

Hi! Would you be able to share some information about Mudis? I’ve been looking into the breed and they are so beautiful and intense ! I’d love to know more about their temperament and how they behave in household environments.
Hi! I will preface this by saying Kávé is my first Mudi and I’ve met very few other Mudi in my lifetime. However, below are my experiences with him!
He is without a doubt the weirdest dog I’ve ever met. Love him, but by God is he strange. He grabs things with his hands. (Yes hands. Referring to him as “pawing” something or “using his paws” doesn’t do justice to what he does). He uses his hands like a little raccoon. Anything new, he will literally try to grab it out of my hand. Then he might use his mouth to bite at it like a normal dog. He behaves more like some sort of Creature than a dog. His nickname is Weasel for a good reason.
While Mudi are a herding breed, they also have a lot of spitz and terrier influence. People mistakenly think they’ll be like a smaller Border collie, always at your whim to do your bidding. No. If there is food involved, Kávé will likely do as I ask but he may also say “Screw you” and do whatever he likes. I am a professional dog trainer and I kid you not when he was 6months old I wondered what I had gotten myself into and said I’d not get another Mudi every again. He can be A LOT. And I DO NOT recommend them for a first time dog owner. He would terrorize an average family lol 😂 Now I don’t say that to “gatekeep” I’m just being honest. They’re not a super easy breed for most people. However, I’ve come to really love him and his challenges and I’m starting to think I might eventually get another one (once Kávé is WAY out of adolescence mind you).
As far as being in the house, he’s gotten much better about being able to just be out in the house and settle. For awhile, he mostly spent time in his huge expen when he wasn’t exercising or training because otherwise he was constantly getting into things and terrorizing me by trying to do WWE wrestling moves on me while I tried to just lay on the couch. For awhile, he needed TONS of outdoor time before he could even settle down. But now, as I said, he has gotten better about it as he’s matured. We actually took an hour nap together on the couch today!
Reactivity is something that is in the breed. Kávé loathes men and can be reluctant about women if they are strangers. However, if he knows you, he becomes an absolute puddle and loves attention. His reactivity is something I am working on, but I never expect him to be 100% comfortable with a stranger coming up to touch him which is why I won’t be pursuing conformation with him. We’ll instead stick to sports such as FastCAT and Dock diving where there is minimal judge or other people interaction. There are other Mudi out there (like his sire and brother) who ADORE all people. So it really does depend on the dog.
All in all Mudi are fascinating creatures and if you have any other questions, feel free to message me. I am by no means an expert but I’ve come to love the breed and don’t mind sharing my experiences.

Are you like, still ok with dsmp lore/character analysis asks? Cause i want your thoughts around sam real bad but don't wanna be rude.
If you're still ok w those kinda asks but dont wanna write a bunch just saying where on the spectrum between vilifier and apologist you are would be really cool too! (Gonna take a wild guess that you're somewhere near a critical sympathizer? Like you understand why he did stuff n dont think hes evil but still think he made very immoral choices or something)
brah ur good. i dont mind dsmp asks at all!! also im glad u asked.
this is gonna be long oops
c!sam is one of the only characters where i have nearly full faith in regarding authorial intent, for starters. Sam The Dude (bringing that back) is obviously very self aware of his characters morally ambiguous and sometimes straight up ethically bankrupt actions, and everything he does with consideration for his character and the plot makes sense to me up until. Well.. c!sam's prison arc. But all of the consequences of that arc are still up in the air and I still stand by sam's understanding of the metatextual implications of his characters actions. Because oh boy does sam GET CONSEQUENCES. However for now I'm keeping my distance from that until we get some more c!hotelduo shit.
I think Sam The Guy is an expert at writing his character's hypocrisy compared to, say, c!techno's. C!Techno does things selfishly and impulsively, and doubles down on the decisions he makes regardless of how destructive or hurtful they are to anyone who isn't him or his friends. This is largely in part perpetuated by his character never reaping the consequences of those actions. That's a fact, not an opinion. So his hypocrisy in relation to his principles (his hatred for any form of government) feels antagonistic and almost goofy when you realize that makes him the defacto government, if he is to be the judge jury and executioner of the smp's organized communities. See the syndicate and snowchester or literally any ctechno stream post bedrockbros arc.
Now look at C!Sam. Sam does everything to follow HIS principles, but has extremely little regard for himself and other people, aside from C!Tommy. While attempting to make things more safe, his downfall lies in that code becoming an obsession, leading to him to justify mutilating his ex and stopping tommy from killing dream in C!wilburs revival stream for the sake of containing the real threat. And most notably, we figure out that sam somehow found out about c!ranboo's association with c!dream, which is a concept that explains a myriad of fatal errors with pandora's vault security and some experiences inside it. C!Sam killing c!ranboo is awful, sure, but there's this thing called DRAMATIC IRONY, where we know it wasn't truly c!Ranboo (debatable, given how ranboo The Guy abandoned his damn character) who carried out the plan with the explosives that lead to c!tommy's death and subsequent revival, but c!sam doesn't. And once again, the cycle of violence is repeated. However, for all these things, C!Sam faces dire punishments. Probably more than any character on the server.
C!Ponk and c!sam will probably never heal their relationship. As much as C!sam may regret it or feel remorse for hurting them, c!ponk has every right to be scornful and hold resentment towards him for the rest of their lives. C!tommy, someone c!sam has held dear throughout the entire show and arguably values the most, HATES him and never wants to see him again after his incidents. C!tubbo and his murder squad put him in the prison HE OVERSAW SECURITY FOR.... punishments left and right at this point.
And this is why his character and his hypocrisy are more tragic to me. All of this comes to a head when C!dream, someone he shouldn't even feel remorse towards, kills him after he wakes him up to his own cruelty and murders him for the keycards. C!Sam is constantly hurting himself and others and being brutally punished afterwards, without learning much, because he feels like his principles justify his actions. But now he has no need for these principles, since the prison has been rendered obsolete and he's lost everyone he wants to protect.
Which is why I feel his redemption arc would be the most rewarding at this point in the story. He seems to finally be recognizing his errors. sam feels like the type of character to not want this guilt to destroy him more than it already has, and if I had control over this story, or even the room with sam The Guy, I'd ask him to start with c!tommy. His redemption starts back at the beginning: protecting this kid from a monster. Except this time, he does it right, and he does it because he not only cares for him, but he owes it to him, as both the adult and as someone who is distinctly aware of c!tommy's suffering at the hands of c!dream.

Finished The Trouble with Peace
I love Orso. He's my guy. Which makes me sooo worried that with him complaining about hangings all the time, he will end up complaining about his own. After all the lamb is next in line to be eaten. I loved the scenes he had with Jappo and the dinner with Leo (and how those scenes show the contrast between Orso and Leo) ... man he's intelligent enough that I could actually see him maneuvering around the restrictions of his title and changing at least some things for the better if he applied himself and if he had the time, instead of mitigating/surviving one crises after the other
Where do I even start with Leo. There were so many moments where I wanted to reach into the story to throttle him and just by reading the blurb on the back of book 3 I suspect that he might still not have learned his lesson. What do you mean he wants to be a hero of the new age. How many limbs does he essentially have to lose and how many of his friends does he have to get killed before he stops to think for once.
His head really is empty, but he's definitely an expert when it comes to justifying his decisions. So maybe he will actually embrace his role as a traitor somewhere down the line. I feel like he always doubles down on his decisions right after he momentarily doubts himself. So once he realizes that the breakers/burners are on the move and also want to get rid of the crown, maybe he will feel vindicated after all?? Just like with the Stour/Leo duel in A Little Hatred I now am worried that Orso will regret sparing Leo.
I wish Finree would have told Leo that he is pissing away everything his father worked for. I can't believe that didn't really come up.
So while Leo did seem to be more reflective after he lost, in true Abercrombie fashion I expect him to fall back into old habits. Still gonna be interesting how he adapts to his new circumstances, though. I guess he has to do at least some things a little different now.
I actually was right about Jurand and Glaward after all. And Leo reacted as expected. In a way Jurand dodged a bullet. But it is kinda sad that Leo still can't parse his own feelings at all, even after the fact. Maybe he will actually get a second chance at repairing that relationship.
While I always thought that Savine would eventually help with the treason, she really did not have to think about it at all. The total disregard she had for Orso and especially her father... my god. Obviously she went through a lot and I understand her anger towards her family for keeping her parentage a secret. But it still made me feel bad for Glokta. He seems to care about her so much
Speaking of which I hope we do see him again. While this is very much the story of the next generation, I would be disappointed if he just died off screen of old age. Would love to see his reaction to Pike being the Weaver
Also the Savine/Leo and Ardee/Glokta parallels kinda make me doubt my assessment that Savine is actually pregnant with Leos child again. I guess I have to see if Orso starts to wonder. I'm not even sure if it's supposed to be ambiguous, it's probably Leos.
I am in general a little nervous about the breakers/burners- plot taking center stage. Mainly because Broad is still my least favorite pov (by far) and characters like Judge might work in small doses, but could become overbearing in more of a main role. I liked Vick way more than in book 1 though, so maybe she will bring me back around
Clover betraying Stour happened faster than I anticipated. I don't see how anybody can really trust him after this. Still happy to be rid of Stour though, I think Calder is the more interesting antagonist for Rikke
The axe with the owl on the cover of Wisdom of Crowds makes me think of the North (mainly because of choice of weapon) and I had Rikke as a contender for the owl. But based on the blurb the northern plot does seem pretty separate from the Union plot. So I don't know. Maybe Orso flees and then Rikke turns him over. I'm not even sure if the cover means anything. Like Leos sword is specifically mentioned in the text, but I can't remember is Stour ever wore a wolfs helmet. Hmm. I'm sure the identity of the owl will become clear while reading.
Any hope I had like five books ago, that Bayaz would finally be taken down in this trilogy is dwindling by the page. I do not think there is time for that

It was such a bad situation all around and felt written specifically to give Penelope the most trauma imaginable, ha. Adding in the laughing at her on top of it all? Terrible choices and does more damage in a way that seems gratuitous vs serving the story.
I think it was smart of have her accuse him of being embarrassed of her when she finally confronts him over it, it would be the first place most minds would go with the way they did it last season. Very much a growing pains story for both of them, Penelope really needs to come into her own and Colin, god love him, he needs to learn to be comfortable in the fact that he's not his brothers. And that's okay.
Losing platonic relationships hurt just as much or worse than romantic ones so everyone is hurting when they come into s3 and I want to hug them all. Eloise is just going through it, Penelope is probably losing her mind, and Colin is just faking it til he makes it only failing and missing his friend. Then he falls in love with her. Godspeed to him.
I would looooove if they wrote it together if for no other reason than to gag the people that are so rude for no reason, hah.
Oh yeah, I have empathy for her situation but she is truly unlikable in characterization. If they had presented her as desperate and that gave way to some of her arrogance and almost hateful behavior towards others in her pain and fear for her future, I would get it but no, she just comes off as mean. Treating everyone as lesser than her while they're trying to help her (with her own mistakes at that) was just such a wild character choice. She wasn't even convincing in her trying to get Colin to marry her to me, ha.
So much of the stuff about Penelope being the villain when in all reality, she's not saying anything that others aren't saying to each other (outside of the Colin and Eloise thing for their protection) just comes off as petty jealousy that Penelope/Nicola has more spotlight right now than others. They have handled it better than I ever could!
I am almost sure I am going to cry multiple times this season and I am getting ready for it, haha.
Yeah I don’t know how the explain even the point of it but it doesn’t sound like they even do. I’m glad she confronts it head on. That’s a good start for her. Either way they are both still very young here, unlike in the book where they are in their late 20’s, they are not that far along here by skipping ahead to this storyline.
I’m still seeing so much discourse around the damn brothel scene that NO ONE has even scene yet, but my God people are speculating he is somehow some BDSM Dom somehow out of one stupid tabloid article and a few sentences. I’m over it. Watch the F’ing show first before you become an expert out of something you have not even seen yet. Speculation is fine, but full on judging a character over speculation is beyond the scope of anything. And it truly ruins your own peace of mind. Goodness. Sorry had to get that off my chest!
Back to Eloise LOL! I have a feeling I will be less angry about her once we get to the season. I’m more curious about Cressida because they aren’t telling us much about her and the photos seem quite grim honestly. Her home life seems so sad and dark.
Would it not be the best to even reference the chance that they could take over as narrators of the whole damn show. The uproar itself would drown out everything hahaha!
I do wonder if she ends herself or they have her leave the show in other means for the whole Phillip and Eloise piece. It just feels sooooo dark. Perhaps she comes down ill and dies leaving him with the children. But she’s gotta go somehow for that to work lol.
I mean its hard to make her the villain when things have worked out so well for the Bridgertons if NOT for LW! Lets be honest she’s things work out pretty well for Daphne, Colin, and Eloise whether they admit it or not. It’s not like they live in a time where they are able to take care of those issues themselves. LW has saved their ass without them being stuck in things they could not have gotten out of or losing their heads, honestly. I’d say that’s the opposite of a villain. Has she said less than nice things…sure she called Anthony a Rake. Was he…Yes. Is Colin faking this BS persona…Yes. Soooo she’s honest with a side of bitchy…good for her! Sod society.

offline is the new luxury
Tumblr media

offline is the new luxury.
Seriously. I just deleted all my social media apps yesterday because I was starting to feel like my phone had simply become a time wasting device, and most of my “friends” and “followers” were not actually real friends, just frenemies and lurkers that wanted a livestream of my suffering to laugh at and someone to pity and point at and say “hey at least my life isn’t as bad as theirs?”. I don’t need leeches and lurkers silently hating and judging me. Go live your fucking life in the real world like I am?! It’s not hard to live without social media. It’s not hard to live without doomscrolling becoming a full time unpaid job. It’s so easy to stare mindlessly at a screen for weeks on end while you put your life on hold. It’s so easy to curate a fake image to sell lies to desperate fools. What isn’t easy? Actually being an authentic messy human being living life and trying to heal and recover! We live in a society that tells us that the poor deserve bad health because they can’t afford better and then we place the disabled in a complicated legislated poverty trap as a eugenics program to kill us off faster. Western medicine ain’t shit. It’s a failed experiment sponsored by big pharma’s elites. Same with the education system. Why do I need to pay for a degree when I can Google the answers and do my own research online? And find rare valuable books on the street or at value village for a couple bucks that silently whisper to me and say “I was left here for YOU to find me”. Like that thought about Google came from a rather shitty community member that stated “I don’t need a degree, I have Google!” And despite this person’s otherwise highly problematic views- this one seems to hold value. You don’t need to pay to find answers, if you want answers, either you search for them yourself or they come to you. It’s as simple as that. Anyone asking you to pay? Are you paying for their time and expertise? Their knowledge? Are they really an expert or just another fraud? It’s best to seek answers for yourself instead of paying a fraud. But Instagram is filled with people claiming to be healers practicing “medicine” without a license and getting rich off exploiting peoples suffering while making miracle claims. It’s sick. There are so many narcs online and in the sex work industry. But it makes a lot of sense- like these people are obsessed with their image and trying to pretend to be something they’re not which is easily attained via social media marketing pageantry. I don’t really have much of a fear of missing out anymore on online nonsense. You know what I’m ACTUALLY SCARED OF MISSING OUT ON? living my fucking life authentically without feeling like I need to prove anything or put my life on display! I am scared I’ll miss another day of sunshine before a week of rain because I chose to stay inside staring at a screen instead. Like it’s a sunny day today. I was supposed to be doing laundry right now. But I decided -ya know what, I’m gonna write a blog post about my thoughts and then reschedule laundry and go outside and get some sunlight on my skin (after applying spf of course like a good slut) and get some fresh air. Might go chill (literally) in a park with some lunch but I haven’t really decided yet where today will take me. I feel like I like the long form of blog posts better and I think this will be the only place I’ll be posting online for the foreseeable future. I don’t really care who reads this blog, it’s not really a space where I care about marketing myself to potential clients other than …idk showing my true self and personality and maybe that is scary or maybe that’s exciting and interesting to know that I’m not just a doll, I’m a living, breathing human being with a brain and a heart! Shocking, I know.
Why do I think that offline is the new luxury? It’s about simply not caring about the lurkers, the haters, the critics. Not comparing yourself to others, focusing on simplicity, decreasing stress and anxiety. It’s the whole “I’ll see you when I see you”, being mysterious and moving in silence so that nobody interferes because they don’t even know what you’re doing or where you are and can’t access you or bother you. It’s about independence. It’s about living my life in privacy. It’s about my own inner peace and healing my nervous system at the end of the day and I can’t do that when I’m doomscrolling or feeling so much rage at every single tweet I see talking about how brutally cruel this world has become and how evil people behave towards others. It’s not that I want to look away or stop feeling those emotions, I recognize it’s not good for my mental health to constantly be reading about hatred. There is so much hatred online! But anyways. My time is money. I no longer want to waste it on social media. I want to put my phone down and go live my fucking life. and that’s what I’m gonna do. Byeee

Psychology of rejections
I think this is a really important topic people don’t talk about in their day to day lives. I’m not really an expert but I’ve been analyzing it for a while. Personally, I don’t feel like I was rejected always. I had some moments where I did fit in with school, or a group of kids etc. As I grew older, I notice there’s this struggle in who I want to become and what society expects from me. And then I had more experiences of being rejected in some social events. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who has experienced this. Maybe a good analogy is job searching.
Ideally, it would be great if everyone can find a high paying job right after school that’s low-stress and rewarding. Realistically, that doesn’t happen to everyone. These days, I’ve been seeing people apply to 1000+ job posting, getting constantly rejected, and then giving up on their search. Job searching is a pretty demoralizing process unfortunately. I’ve seen someone who applied for 600 job postings, hearing only 3 back, went through seven rounds of interviews for one job and then being ghosted at the very end with no offer. It’s mentally, spiritually, and emotionally draining. That’s what it feels to be rejected constantly. Then your thoughts gravitate toward yourself and your self-hatred for being imperfect. It’s one of the reason why people give up on finding stable work.
The most ironic part is that someone who got the job shared that he actually used ChatGPT to write all of his resumes, cover letter and helped him prep for his interviews. His entire persona was fabricated by an AI tool, and without it, he admitted wouldn’t have been given the job. People mentioned how it was really sad that the job process has been reduced to finding the perfect human being, which doesn’t exist in reality. ChatGPT is not a real person but a robot, but it imitates the human that people want to become.
Growing into an adult, I realize the world is very unforgiving and unfair sometimes. And maybe that’s why I’m also pretty impatient and unforgiving of others. I used to be in that state of mind where I didn’t really fit in at school, had trouble securing a job, and really struggled to figure out my identity. I was always angry, hated everyone and viewed people very negatively. It’s really the impact of being constantly misunderstood and rejected. The more I think about it, I realize it’s not so much on human nature but really the social component. Just like job searching, there is a competition to be the smartest, the best looking, and the most wealthy. If anyone falls short on this, we quickly judge them and oust them for survival reason. The reason why companies have high standards is because they want to be the best of the best. This can be applied to many social settings. Schools also have a competition to be the best in their district.
This idealistic sense of who we want to be, and what we really are is a subject I think a lot of my youth and future generations are going to continue to experience. I just wish this topic was brought up more because I feel like people go through their daily lives and encounter these miseries but do nothing to really change the situation for the better. If people are getting jobs because of ChatGPT, and not by their real character then we definitely have some societal issues to resolve. I’m not sure who to blame specifically because the reasoning could be many factors. It’s also the reason why I can see fakeness from miles away. People pretend to be someone else, because it’s more socially accepted, but then I can’t really engage with them because they just live by what the collective society want and follow their rules by the book. It’s not really who they are in actuality.

Bucket List Unlocked
When I was in high school, I spent a lot of time surfing on internet. Searching for a lot of information to feed my brain. I also write a lot such as poems, short stories, a novel, and essays. One day I found an intriguing event for writers and readers called Ubud Writers and Readers Festival (UWRF). I still remember it was 2012.
Basically, UWRF is an festival for emerging writers who writes essay, short story, and etc. Since I love writing essays at that time, I gave it a shot. With all resources that I have at that time, I submit my work, five essays and basically talking about role of young generation for this country. (Hmm such a nationalist kind of way)
In 2013, I got an email from UWRF committee. Yeah, as I guess that I wasn't selected to be emerging writers back then. However, I received a letter from the notable judges such as Sapardi Djoko Damono, Dee Lestari, and one of foreign writer which I don't exactly remember his name and probably he is from Australia.
Reading the letter was like reading a love letter from your biggest crush. I still remember my feeling when reading it back then. Since then, UWRF has became my dream. I write it down to my bucket lists "Attending UWRF".
Voila! I unlocked my dream last week. I flew to Bali, went to Ubud. It was my first time in Ubud and UWRF too. I was excited to join the event for 4 days and surrounded by foreigners from many different countries. The discussions are engaging and bring pressing issues to the table with all the expert in their field. Not to mention the music night event with indie singers like Rara Sekar, Frau, Reda Gaudiamo, and so on. They also have a poetry performances which I missed it. LOL. This event is really worth it not because it is held in magical land like Bali, but the program they offer is amazing with the theme of this year-Memayu Hayuning Bawana.
Memayu Hayuning Bawana is Javanese ancient philosophy, simply means unity humanity. The fact that this theme has a deep meaning because writing and reading is about how we become a human. It is how we feel about ourselves and others. Writing is touching someone's heart even you don't know them and where they live.
I will end this by quoting what Pramoedya Ananta Toer said "Write. Your voice will not be extinguished by the wind, it will be eternal, until far, far in the future."
So that's my story in unlocking one of my bucket lists.

21 Lessons for the 21st Century
Yuval Noah Harari - Penguin Random House UK/2018
In a world deluged by irrelevant information, clarity is power.
Perhaps in the twenty-first century populist revolts will be staged not against an economic elite that exploits people, but against an economic elite that does not need them anymore.
By manufacturing a never-ending stream of crises, a corrupt oligarchy can prolong its rule indefinitely.Islamists want to copy the system established by Prophet Muhammed in the city of Medina 1,400 years ago.
Feelings aren't based on intuition, inspiration or freedom - they are based on calculation.most people don't know themselves very well, and most people often make terrible mistakes in the most important decisions of their lives.
people's merit should be judged based on their actual behaviour, rather than by their religious affiliation.
Intelligence is the ability to solve problems. Consciousness is the ability to feel things such as pain, joy, love and anger. We tend to confuse the two because in humans and other mammals intelligence goes hand in hand with consciousness
Property is a prerequisite for long-term inequality.
Islam has no fixed DNA. Islam is whatever Muslims make of it.
The problem starts when benign patriotism morphs into chauvinistic ultra-nationalism.
Instead of believing that my nation is unique - which is true for all nations - I might begin feeling that my nation is supreme, that I owe it my entire loyalty, and that I have no significant obligations to anyone else. This is fertile ground for violent conflicts.
Unlike nuclear war - which is a future potential - climate change is a present reality.
When things really work, everybody adopts them.
While culture is important, people are also shaped by their genes and their unique personal history.the legitimacy of the modern state is based on its promise to keep the public sphere free of political violence.
If we free our imagination from the terrorists, and react in a balanced and cool way - terrorism will fail.in the twenty-first century the most successful strategy is to sit on the fence and let others do the fighting for you.no god and no law of nature protects us from human stupidity.
Humans of all creeds would do well to take humility more seriously.
Healthy relationships require emotional, intellectual and even spiritual depth.
Questions you cannot answer are usually far better than answers you cannot question.
People rarely appreciate their ignorance, because they lock themselves inside an echo chamber of like-minded friends and self-confirming newsfeeds, where their beliefs are constantly reinforced and seldom challenged.
if you want to go deeply into any subject, you need a lot of time, and in particular you need the privilege of wasting time.
great power inevitably distorts truth.
If you want truth, you need to escape the black hole of power, and allow yourself to waste a lot of time wandering here and there on the periphery.
Revolutionary knowledge rarely makes it to the centre, because the centre is built on existing knowledge.
When you try  to explain to people the true complexity of the conflict by means of statistics and precise data, you lose them; but a personal story about the fate of one child activates the tear ducts, makes the blood boil and generates false moral certainty.
the power of human cooperation depends on a delicate balance between truth and fiction.
false stories have an intrinsic advantage over the truth when it comes to uniting people.
If you want to know the truth about the world, at some point you will have to renounce power.
Human suffering is often caused by belief in fiction, but the suffering itself is still real.
the mind is never free of manipulation.
Escaping the narrow definition of self might well become a necessary survival skill in the twenty-first century.
Many pedagogical experts argue that schools should switch to teaching 'the four C's' - critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.schools should downplay technical skills and emphasise general-purpose life skills.
All stories are incomplete. In itself, the universe is only a meaningless hotchpotch of atoms.
Nothing is beautiful, sacred or sexy - but human feelings make it so.The process of self-exploration begins with simple things, and becomes progressively harder.
Ultimately we should realise that we do not control our desires, or even our reactions to these desires.
99 percent of what we experience never becomes part of the story of the self. Yet it is easier to act and cooperate effectively when you understand the human mind, understand your own mind, and understand how to deal with your inner fears, biases and complexes. Meditation is far from being the only way to do all that. For some people, therapy, art or sport can be more effective.
When dealing with the mysteries of the human mind we should regard meditation not as a panacea, but as an additional valuable tool in the scientific toolkit.
meditation aims to explore the mind rather than just focus it

APPARENTLY OUR SITUATION WAS NOT UNUSUAL
Enjoy it while it lasts, and get as much done as you can, because you haven't hired any bureaucrats yet. Sites of this type will get their attention. The fact that there's no conventional number. Don't fix Windows, because the remaining. And what drives them both is the number of new shares to the angel; if there were 1000 shares before the deal, this means 200 additional shares. This is not as selfish as it sounds. For the average startup fails. It spread from Fortran into Algol and then to depend on it happening. Seeing the system in use by real users—people they don't know—gives them lots of new ideas is practically virgin territory.
Auto-retrieving spam filters would make the legislator who introduced the bill famous. When someone's working on a problem where their success can be measured, you win. I was a Reddit user when the opposite happened there, and sitting in a cafe feels different from working. However, the easiest and cheapest way for them to do it gets you halfway there. No one uses pen as a verb in spoken English. We'd ask why we even hear about new languages like Perl and Python, the claim of the Python hackers seems to be as big as possible wants to attract everyone. Conditionals. Poetry is as much music as text, so you start to doubt yourself. Between them, these two facts are literally a recipe for exponential growth. In languages, as in any really bold undertaking, merely deciding to do it. I fly over the Valley: somehow you can sense something is going on.
It's easy to be drawn into imitating flaws, because they're trying to ignore you out of existence. Google. Long words for the first time should be the ideas expressed there. If a link is just an empty rant, editors will sometimes kill it even if it's on topic in the sense of beating the system, not breaking into computers. As long as you're at a point in your life when you can bear the risk of failure. I'm less American than I seem. The distinction between expressions and statements. So perhaps the best solution is to add a few more checks on public companies. Let me repeat that recipe: finding the problem intolerable and feeling it must be true that only 1.
Well, I said a good rule of thumb was to stay upwind—to work on a Python project than you could to work on a problem that seems too big, I always ask: is there some way to bite off some subset of the problem. A company that needed to build a factory or hire 50 people obviously needed to raise a large round and risk losing the investors you already have if you can't raise the full amount. And isn't popularity to some extent its own justification? I realize I might seem to be any less committed to the business. Surely that's mere prudence? The measurement of performance will tend to push even the organizations issuing credentials into line. Number 6 is starting to have a piratical gleam in their eye. About a year after we started Y Combinator that the most important skills founders need to learn. When the company goes public, the SEC will carefully study all prior issuances of stock by the company and demand that it take immediate action to cure any past violations of securities laws. Within a few decades old, and rapidly evolving. I didn't say so, but I'm British by birth. Investors tend to resist committing except to the extent you can.
I'm talking to companies we fund? But if we can decide in 20 minutes, should it take anyone longer than a couple days when he presented to investors at Demo Day, the more demanding the application, the more demanding the application, the more extroverted of the two founders did most of the holes are. We funded them because we liked the founders so much. And such random factors will increasingly be able to brag that he was an investor. You'd feel like an idiot using pen instead of write in a different language than they'd use if they were expressed that way. The safest plan for him personally is to stick close to the margin of failure, and the time preparing for it beforehand and thinking about it afterward. The theory is that minor forms of bad behavior encourage worse ones: that a neighborhood with lots of graffiti and broken windows becomes one where robberies occur. S s: n. Bootstrapping Consulting Some would-be founders may by now be thinking, why deal with investors at all, it means you don't need them.
It's not just that you can't judge ideas till you're an expert in a field. And the way to do it gets you halfway there. Angels who only invest occasionally may not themselves know what terms they want. But the raison d'etre of all these institutions has been the same kind of aberration, just spread over a longer period. If someone pays $20,000 from their friend's rich uncle, who they give 5% of the company they take is artificially low. But because seed firms operate in an earlier phase, they need to spend a lot on marketing, or build some kind of announcer. There are millions of small businesses in America, but only a little; they were both meeting someone they had a lot in common with. We present to him what has to be treated as a threat to a company's survival. S i; return s;; This falls short of the spec because it only works for integers. He said their business model was crap.
I was a philosophy major. Programs often have to work actively to prevent your company growing into a weed tree, dependent on this source of easy but low-margin money. And I was a philosophy major. This leads to the phenomenon known in the Valley is watching them. I definitely didn't prefer it when the grass was long after a week of rain. As many people have noted, one of the questions we pay most attention to when judging applications. I'd like to reply with another question: why do people think it's hard to predict, till you try, how long it will take to become profitable. Raising money is the better choice, because new technology is usually more valuable now than later. The purpose of the committee is presumably to ensure that is to create a successful company?
One recently told me that he did as a theoretical exercise—an effort to define a more convenient alternative to the Turing Machine. This is actually less common than it seems: many have to claim they thought of the idea after quitting because otherwise their former employer would own it. If you look at these languages in order, Java, and Visual Basic—it is not so frivolous as it sounds, however. VCs they have introductions to. VCs ask, just point out that you're inexperienced at fundraising—which is always a safe card to play—and you feel obliged to do the same for any firm you talk to. The lower your costs, the more demanding the application, the more important it is to sell something to you, the writer, the false impression that you're saying more than you have. What happens in that shower?

A fun night resulting in a drunken mistake. That's all this was, right? The shock and humiliation upon waking up completely naked in a bed that wasn't your own is what immediately clouded your mind. Sitting up, you held your head in a desperate attempt to subdue the vicious pounding, face scrunched in pain. You had gone out for drinks with Itadori, Nobara, and Megumi, but you must have been blackout for half the evening. That's the only reasonable assumption, considering you didn't know where you were or how you got here. Really, what and how much did I drink last night? With one last squeeze of your head to get your bearings, you slowly opened her eyes, looking around the room in hopes of gathering your clothes as quickly as possible and getting the fuck out. Whoever owned this room probably didn't want their one night stand to overstay their welcome either. Wait.... You knew this room. You knew it like the back of her hand. No, no way. "Oh, you're awake." There's no fucking way. The resounding 'click' of the door closing behind the familiar figure made your stomach drop. You went pale, much to his dismay. He didn't show it. "Look, we don't... we don't have to-" "Megumi, what the fuck happened?" Deep blue eyes bore into your own, what was that look he was giving you? What was he to expect? The two of you had been attached at the hip since the end of high school, you were close, but not like this. Your panicked eyes followed his movements, watching him step towards you and sit on the edge of the bed. You instinctually pulled the dark duvet higher, making sure you were covering anything that may have been exposed. "It seems things got a little out of hand last night, I don't know how else to say this." "Did we actually, like... sleep with each other?" When he didn't say anything, didn't even react, seconds seemed to turn into minutes. 'No, I cleaned you up because you threw up everywhere. That's really why you're naked'. That must have been- "Yes." "Like, we had sex?" ".... Yes." Your head pounded in protest of the answer you didn't want to hear. He was like a brother to you, how did this happen? Megumi extended his hand, placing the pills he had brought on the bed beside you, catching the subtle shift of you pulling the blanket up higher out of the corner of his eye. "I'll give you some space. I folded your clothes, they're on top of my dresser. After you're done maybe we can... talk about this. Take your time," He exhaled the last of his sentence, standing up and leaving the room again. You hadn't ever gotten dressed that fast in your life. You didn't even bother with your bra and underwear, simply carrying them in the crook of your arm. Rushed footsteps came to a screeching halt when met with a tall broad form blocking the hallway. Toji seemed to be just as confused as you, viridescent eyes darting between your very disheveled appearance, your smeared makeup, and the undergarments you held in your hands. You couldn't tell by his expression, or lack thereof, but you made the safe assumption he came to the conclusion of what had transpired the second he saw you. "I'm sorry Mister Fushiguro, pardon me," You politely excused yourself, squeezing by him and running down the stairs. In one swift motion you had picked up your shoes, swung the front door open, and firmly closed it behind you, leaving nothing but an uncomfortable silence in the Fushiguro household. It took you a while to get home, not stopping for a second to even put your shoes on just in case someone were to run after you. You had no doubts Megumi would. The jingling of your keys, the click of the lock, and the loud slam of the door behind you is what finally set you off. The rest of your day was spent in self loathing, crying, tylenol, and regular trips in and out of the bathroom to empty the nothingness in your stomach. Only as the sun was setting, orange and dark blue painting the sky, did you decide you needed to text Megumi about what happened. That was, if you had your phone. "Are you KIDDING me?!" You grumbled to yourself, flipping over cushions, digging through the clothes you had worn last night, scouring every surface. You must have left it at his house. His room. Newfound humiliation washed over you, knowing that you would have to see him face to face. Knock knock. Jumping at the sudden sound, you looked over to the door with wide inquisitive eyes. Did Misses Kageyama lose her cat again? You tiptoed over to the door, having to stand on your toes to look through the peephole. Today is so shit, you thought to yourself, unlocking and opening your door, but not removing the deadbolt. You peered at the tall man on the other side, warily looking up at him through your lashes. "Yeah, that's the reaction I was expecting," Toji sneered, holding out a familiar cellular device. "Kid said you might want this back." You slipped your much smaller hand through the door, grabbing onto it and tugging. Once you realized he wasn't going to let go, you let out an exasperated sigh, closing your eyes and leaning your forehead on the back of the door. "How did you get past the door-man? You didn't buzz up." "I didn't give him a choice." Toji mused, the side of his lips twitching up. "So are you gonna stand here with my phone hostage all night? Or can I close my door." You were visibly agitated. He was obviously sent here for a reason, but with how amused he seemed at your grumpy exterior you couldn't imagine he was here on behalf of defending Megumi. His lack of response was all you needed, knowing how stubborn he was. One dejected sigh and adjustment of the deadbolt later, Toji was pushing himself through and headed for the kitchen. Make yourself at home, you rolled your eyes at his intrusive behavior. "He wanted to come by and give it to you, but I told him it'd probably be better if I did it," Toji explained upon reaching the kitchen island, leaning against it and patting a bar stool. Begrudgingly, you shuffle over and sit down. Toji always had a rocky relationship with his son, and you knew this. Megumi once told you to think of Toji is more of an older friend than a parental figure, since he's really not good at that. With that mindset, being around him became significantly less tense, giving you room to express yourself freely. "You looked like shit leaving the house this morning." "You can leave now." Toji put the phone down, sliding it towards you on the granite countertop. "Look, I'm not here to judge what you kids are or aren't doing, all I'm saying," He paused, eyes never leaving yours, "Is that you didn't seem very happy with your decision." "Actually, it seems like you regret it a lot." He was right. You knew he was right, if you could go back in time right now and even prevent yourself from going out with everyone, you would do it in a heartbeat. You felt disgusted in yourself, this was akin to having sex with a sibling for you. Even though you didn't say anything, the expression you held and the way you chewed the inside of your cheek spoke volumes. Toji didn't seem to miss that. "In my experience," He broke the silence, "The best way to get over regrettable sex is to have unregrettable sex." Your eyes locked with his, throat suddenly becoming dry. "Where was that keen parenting when you were raising Megumi?" You meant to sound bitter, but it came out as a whisper. He chuckled at your meek attempt to halt the conversation. He decided to ignore it. "I'm giving you a line, it's up to you if you wanna grab it or not." He leaned back over the counter as he spoke, hand coming down to your knee and inching, painstakingly slowly, up your leg. "If I know anything-" "Do you?" He gripped your thigh, it must have been hard enough to bruise, but the look in his eye was more dangerous than his hands. Instinctively, you pressed your thighs together, heart racing and God you hoped he couldn't hear it. "I'm an expert at fucking," Toji's tone dropped, viridescent eyes drinking in your flustered appearance, but stopping at where his hand was on your upper thigh. His grip loosened, gently caressing the skin there. "After I'm done with you, Megumi'll be the last thing on your mind. You want to feel good?" Everything that had happened today, all of your regrets, all your frustration, your humiliation, came crashing down on you, it fogged your mind. Toji was undeniably attractive, you've known that since the moment you met him. If you do this, there's no turning back. "What do you think?" He pressed, his hand moving up to the seam of your shorts. Fuck it. "What... did you have in mind?" The predatory grin that split his face made you surge with fear and delight, watching his scar pull taught in the most deliciously tantalizing way. "Why don't I show you?"

Thranduil & Túrin playing together in Doriath, for @tolkiengenweek —when I realized they could have been kids in Doriath at the same time, I had to draw them together.
This one also comes with a short accompanying fic about their meeting:
To Wear an Elven Crown
Thranduil had longed to meet the Adan since he had heard the first tales of his arrival in Doriath. His wish had displaced most other longings in his heart. If he could speak to an Adan, he could practice his Mannish and ask him about so many things, like the life of his people and the world outside the Fence. Beleg Cúthalion had found the Adan lost in the woods, and then King Thingol had adopted him! Thranduil had never heard of anyone adopting an Adan, let alone the king himself. If he were now Thingol's son, did that mean he was an Elf, as well as a Man?
Thranduil had asked his father several times whether he could visit the Adan, but each time he was told the newcomer was too unwell. He had been sick and weak when he was discovered, and he was not yet strong enough to entertain company. This news sank him into a deep state of worry. The Edain could contract illnesses, and were mortal. What if this one became very sick, or even died! Of course, the healers of Doriath were the greatest in Middle-earth, but the Adan had come from dangerous lands far from the protection of Doriath, where anything might have befallen him. Thranduil had heard stories of strange fevers and chills that Edain could suffer from; what if the Elven healers did not know how to treat them?
"If he were to speak with someone his own age, Ada, he might feel better." The Adan was young, like himself. Not precisely the same age, since Edain aged so differently, but near enough in essence. He wondered what kind of games the Edain played. Maybe they had invented some no Elves had dreamed of…
"Do you believe so?" asked Oropher, raising an eyebrow. "An interesting perspective. I did not know you had become such an expert on the matter."
"I would feel better, if it were me." In defiance of his father's eyebrow, he added, "I asked Beleg to tell me everything he knows about the Edain."
"Oh, so you are an expert. My mistake." Oropher's hand settled on his head. Thranduil felt the warmth of his father's skin on his brow and blinked. "He has been through much, little Tuil," said Oropher. "We will not tax him any more than we need to."
After offering a gentle pat, Oropher withdrew his hand. Thranduil lay back, resting his head among the grasses. Thranduil did not expect his father to understand, for Oropher was very old. There were no children in King Thingol's house, and if they would not allow Thranduil to visit and talk to the Adan, then they would not have let any other children in to speak to him; that was obvious.
"I am an expert," Thranduil murmured, closing his eyes. Beleg had told him that the Edain could grow lonely and sad, like Elves, and that they too loved to dance and sing and tell tales. The Adan was named Túrin, and his father had been an Elf-friend. That meant he was an Elf-friend, too. If he was a friend, then he should be treated as one and given a warm welcome by everyone in Menegroth. Surely that would make him feel better than being kept away from others.
"Are you falling asleep?" Oropher asked. "I'll take you back home."
He shook his head stubbornly, the blades of grass making themselves felt on his cheeks and chin. Narrow, but not quite sharp. They did not hurt, but he sensed each one keenly. "No, I want to nap out here in the sun." They were well behind the Fence and close to Menegroth, so these woods were safe and guarded. He could play or explore or rest among the trees whenever he liked, because Queen Melian kept them all from harm.
He heard Oropher's soft laughter and felt his father's hand settle on his head again briefly. Then he was only aware of the warm sun heating his skin and the faintly prickly touch of the grass carpeting the clearing. Soon, he was not aware of the clearing either, lost in a dream, wandering far from the waking world. He dreamed he was journeying through a dark, withered wood, bristling with dead branches. The sky was veiled with dense, gray clouds. There was an unnatural air to them, as if storm clouds had been thickened with smoke.
There was a cold wind at his back, and he was all alone. The dead trees were so tall, they made him feel smaller. He heard something moving behind him, breaking branches and rustling through shriveled leaves. An animal? Or something worse? He did not know, and he did not want to turn to look, so he ran. He ran until he felt he had been always running, yet no matter how quick his steps, the noises behind him persisted, never any closer, but never farther away.
Thranduil woke with a gasp. He sat up and scanned the clearing. It was as green and tranquil as it had been when he fell asleep. He heard the low buzz of insect song and the faint voices of the trees. Father was gone. He saw no sign of anyone nearby, although that was not unusual. The sun's light was starting to fade from the sky. It was that between-time when patches of sunlight were still scattered across the forest floor, while the first stars appeared in the purpling twilight above. Thranduil rose to his feet. He was a little hungry, but he was well-rested, and he wasn't ready to return home. He would rather play, until Father came to fetch him. He left the clearing, slipping into the undergrowth as soundlessly as possible.
One of his favorite games was Marchwarden. It was more fun to play with someone else, but it was a game he could also play alone, simply by moving as quickly and quietly as possible, so that no enemies could see or hear him—exactly like a Marchwarden. He was tracking. Not hunting, but searching for any sign of danger, to keep Doriath safe. He studied whatever tracks he came across, or other signs of passage, such as broken twigs or bent grasses, trying to judge who or what had come the same way, and how long ago. He could wander like this for hours, happily, alone.
He was not entirely happy. He was more uneasy as he searched for signs in the grass, because of his dream. Within the dead wood, he had felt like he would never be allowed to rest, racing with an enemy eternally at his back. Dreams always meant something, but not always what you thought they meant. It took a wise Elf to read dreams. He could have asked his father about it, and maybe he would later. Now, he stalked through the dense growth, crouching low so his pale hair couldn't be seen.
When he heard low and distant voices, Thranduil was still lost in his game, so he crouched lower, listening intently as he crept closer. He slowed his breathing, his heartbeat, hiding as he'd been taught.
"—where he could have gone—?"
"We will find him, and soon. There's only so far...."
"I hadn't thought he was strong enough. I would never have guessed he'd be so quick."
"You shouldn't underestimate—"
The speakers moved away, out of the range of his hearing. Those were two of Thingol's guards. Could they have been talking about the Adan? It was possible, and not only because Thranduil thought of the Adan so often. Who else would they have thought wasn't strong enough? If the Adan was lost, he might grow sicker. Imagine how upset King Thingol would be. If Thranduil was a Marchwarden, then he had a duty to do whatever he could to protect everyone in Doriath: including any Edain. He moved on again, more quickly and with greater purpose.
He studied the forest, down to the least leaf, and he listened to the birds singing, the faint breeze moving through the branches. He listened for telltale noises, or telltale silences. He wondered whether the Adan had had a nightmare, like he had. Maybe that was why he had run off. It must have been hard for him to leave his home behind, especially because of the war: that distant, dark shadow hanging over everything, even the forests of Doriath.
Where would an Adan go? Possibly into the undergrowth, where he was. A place where someone small would hide. Thranduil knew of many secret spaces ideal for concealing himself, but few of them were nearby, close to where the guards were hunting. A slight Adan would leave faint footprints. Like Thranduil, he would have been trained in how to hide, if he were in danger. Thranduil was sure that the great trackers of Doriath could find anyone, but maybe Túrin would be difficult to find, more difficult than they expected.
Thranduil headed toward the Dome—it was a vast, curving structure of twisted woody shrubs, crowned with flowering vines. It was bright enough to draw the eye of a stranger to these woods, and dense enough to provide ample cover and shelter. Thranduil often crawled in there to play, because it was like a fortress. He could pretend he ruled there, lord of the branches and leaves and blossoms.
Thranduil found a faint indentation that might have been left by someone running this way. Shortly after that, he spied a tiny tuft of thread, caught on a hooked thorn. It was bright blue in color, so it stood out more than it might have otherwise. Could he have been correct in thinking the Adan might have been come this way? He had been guessing, but maybe he really was a Marchwarden. He would have to tell Beleg, if he succeeded in his hunt.
Emboldened by the thought that he might be better at tracking than Thingol's own guard, Thranduil sank to his knees and crawled into one of the narrow passageways that led into the Dome. With twisting branches on either side of him, and a ceiling of ivy above, no one outside would be able to see him, once he had travelled the length of a few paces. There were no wider  ways in, the growth here was so dense. Anyone who was much larger than Thranduil would have had to cut their way through. Among the branches, Thranduil caught sight of another slight scrap of blue thread. The branches here loved to tug on clothing.
Encouraged, Thranduil moved faster, until he arrived at a fall of dense vines, pushed through them, and found himself confronted by a pair of dark, shining eyes, staring at him. The Adan gave a start, but did not run. It was hard to travel quickly within the Dome, especially if one didn't know it as well as Thranduil did. Thranduil had half-suspected he was imagining his grand success in tracking, so he sat, blinked and stared back at his quarry, startled and bewildered and pleased.
The Adan was seated with his knees drawn up toward his chest. He was very thin, the thinnest child Thranduil had ever seen. His narrow face made his eyes look bigger. Here, he was walled off from the world—or most of it. He looked a great deal like an Elf, although Thranduil could tell he was different as well. It was hard to say exactly why; he simply felt different, like the night air felt different from the air of day, or the atmosphere before a storm as opposed to in the dry season: different in so many various slight ways, some of which were easier to describe than others.
Although Thranduil had longed for their meeting with joy, he felt unexpectedly solemn, now that it was taking place. "Hello," he ventured, in Sindarin. "I'm Thranduil, Son of Oropher."
The Adan blinked, and for a moment, Thranduil wasn't sure if he would—or could—reply, but at last he answered softly, "I'm Túrin, Son of Húrin."
"Why are you out here?" Thranduil asked. He didn't wish to sound accusatory, so he added, "Did you want to play?"
Túrin looked away, into the shadows between the leaves. "I wanted to be by myself."
Thranduil nodded, as this was perfectly understandable. "I like to be by myself, too."
Túrin's gaze shifted back to Thranduil. He seemed relieved to hear this, exhaling.
"Can I stay, though?" Thranduil asked. "Now that I'm here."
"You can stay," Túrin said.
Thranduil knew that Thingol and all his guards and attendants and everyone must be nervous, but he didn't think a little while longer would do any harm, especially not when Túrin must have run here for a reason. Being surrounded by everyone at court could be overwhelming. Thranduil had never been far away from home and everyone he knew before, but it must be hard. It would be better not to rush him. He would let Túrin rest for a little while, and then he would take him to Thingol—just as Beleg had, before.
"I can show you something," he offered.
After another hesitation, Túrin nodded.
"Follow me," said Thranduil. He crawled ahead, between the branches, into the gloom. The last of the day's slight, slipping in through the leaves and vines above, made soft, pale shifting shapes on their hands and on the ground beneath. After a long way, the structure of the dome opened up onto a green glade, surrounded by dense undergrowth on all sides. No one would walk here casually, and if he and Túrin didn't stand up, no one would be able to see them from outside the enclosure. The glade was also hidden, but there was more room to stretch out, and even lie down. It was a fine place for a nap, with soft earth and open sky above. Clusters of flowers grew in profusion, along with tufts of dense grass. Thranduil and Túrin admired their new hiding place in silence, while birds sang in the trees overhead. It was not yet true night, only early twilight. The birds would keep singing a little longer.
"I come here sometimes when I want to be alone," Thranduil said. In the past days and weeks, he had formulated an ever-growing list of questions he would like to ask the Adan, but he did not ask a single one of them now.
Túrin nodded again, lowering his gaze. He reached down and ran his fingers through the grass. There were shadows beneath his eyes, and he did not smile.
"Everyone's looking for you," said Thranduil. "They must be worried."
"I didn't mean to make anyone worry. They shouldn't worry. I don't know why I—" He broke off, closing his eyes.
"It's all right. No one will be angry with you," Thranduil reassured him quickly, moved by Túrin's pained expression. "I'm not angry. I've been waiting to meet you. I've never met an Adan before."
Túrin's eyes reopened, slowly. "Never?"
Thranduil inclined his head in confirmation. "Never."
"I hadn't really met Elves before," said Túrin.
"But now you have. You've met Beleg, and King Thingol, and me. Everyone's happy you're here, that's why they're worried. But we don't have to go back right away. We can wait until you feel better." He cast about the glade, looking for something else he could show the Adan, to cheer him. Along with the two of them, the glade was bursting with life, all the usual green and growing things, rising from the earth and insisting on themselves… "Here—I'll make you something."
"Make me what—?"
"Look." Thranduil's gaze went to a stand of nearby pale purple flowers. These particular blossoms were edible and often harvested. It would do no harm to take a few, especially at this time of year. Quickly, he plucked a few of them, leaving a length of green stem on each. Once he had gathered enough, he wove them together. Flowers and grasses were easy to weave, especially into a circle. When they were joined, he tapped them with his fingers. He could feel the energy moving through the blooms and stems. He closed his eyes briefly, concentrating on that living force, pressing the separate strands of it into one: forging it into a single, singing ring and willing the flowers—live, preserve. They were no longer separate blooms; they had become a single entity. Their petals, which had been in the first stage of wilting, straightened with pride, made fresh and new. It was such a simple thing to do, yet Túrin was wide-eyed and rapt, staring at his hands as if he had performed a wonder. "A crown for you, Prince Túrin." Thranduil reached out and settled the circlet of blooms on Túrin's head.
Finally, Túrin smiled at him. Thranduil smiled back.
They did not stay long, alone in that green glade together, hidden by a conspiracy of leaves and vines and branches. They were never meant to stay long. The world outside was waiting for them to emerge. While the sun receded and the stars began to show themselves—one by one at first, then all at once, like a rain of jewels scattering across the sky—they played and laughed for a few moments.
As Thranduil predicted, when they returned to Menegroth, Túrin did not receive a single scolding. Thingol wrapped him in a fierce embrace. Beleg was as impressed by Thranduil's skills as Thranduil had hoped. He praised Thranduil for his skill in tracking, and said he could visit Túrin whenever he wanted. Eventually, he was able to ask Túrin every question on his extensive list.
Many long years later, tragedy faded into myth for so many, but not for those who were there. Thranduil rarely listened to the sad songs that touched on the subject of Túrin Turambar, but when a certain mood was on him, he would ask the harpers to play one of the few he approved of. Thranduil had grown very old. Seated on his throne, wearing his own heavy crown, he would lean back and remember the smile of a young boy with his dark hair full of flowers.

do you think misha was ever bothered by jared's behavior? i waffle back and forth because misha is such a troll and has such a good sense of humor that i wonder if he always took it as "lol that jared" and rolled with it because he told the stories enough in a good light and he certainly doesnt seem like a pushover to put up with it for 11 years if he was bothered. i dont want to biasly judge things from then how i view jared now and the pranks were like THE staple every guest star went through.
i think this is a really good question, and it's something i've wondered about a lot actually.
the short answer?
yes. i do think jared's behaviour has bothered misha. it's hard to imagine how it wouldn't; objectively speaking, jared has on multiple occasions bullied and sexually harassed misha.
the longer answer:
you said that misha talks about jared's behaviour towards him in a good light, and you're totally right. misha actually tends to laugh about it alongside jared, as if it's nothing. but misha's outward reaction to jared's behaviour towards him isn't necessarily indicative of how he actually feels about it (we all know how expert misha is at hiding the truth in a joke).
misha is very diplomatic and non-confrontational, so i find it hard to imagine him (publically, anyway) calling jared out on any of that stuff. it's super interesting to me that misha is so skilled at challenging/diverting shitty behaviour other people are experiencing, but has a totally different response when he's the one being subjected to it.
misha has talked about being bullied growing up, and i think you can really see the lasting impact of that when he's around jared. he makes himself small and mocks himself so that jared doesn't get there first, absolutely plays up to the idiotic, bumbling persona that jared often makes him out to be.
playing into the way someone is treating you is one of THE most common defence mechanisms used by victims of bullying. there are panels where you can almost see misha reverting to that kid he once was when he felt useless and insecure and as though he needed to downplay his qualities in order to feel accepted by people. as someone who's very much experienced the same thing, it's genuinely painful to watch him re-enact that trauma.
what's telling for me is that jensen is often noticeably bothered by the way jared treats misha.
while misha just laughs along with it and downplays it and acts like it's fine because it's behaviour he grew up learning to expect, jensen sits there fuming. there are multiple instances of him doing this, and jensen is a pretty chill guy who (in the past, at least, i'm not touching whatever is happening between them now with a bargepole) was close friends with jared. i don't think he'd have reacted so strongly if he didn't know that jared's behaviour, despite appearances, actually bothered misha quite a lot, or felt that it was crossing some kind of line that would negatively impact misha.
it's worth noting that i don't think every instance of jared and misha relating is negative. i just think their dynamic is built on interactions where misha is made fun of just a little too much, where things get pushed too far and his boundaries aren't always noticed or respected.
it's also worth noting that i don't think jared has overtly malicious intentions towards misha either; i think he often simply isn't able to recognise where the line is, and when he's crossed it, and this has become imbedded into the whole way they relate (which is a difficult thing to change, once you're set in a pattern).
so, before i turn this into an actual essay: my opinion is that misha has definitely been bothered by some of jared's behaviour.
i don't think he's been bothered by all of it, i think there were probably elements of their friendship that misha enjoyed and valued a lot. but relationships aren't straightforward, and for all the good stuff i'm sure there was in their friendship, for me, there are definite indications that there were elements that negatively affected misha too.
from my perspective, the way misha responds to jared's behaviour is often a red flag. it's just too much like the way people who are used to being bullied are conditioned to behave for self-preservation. even if jared wasn't the root cause, it's never a sign of a healthy friendship if someone makes you revert to that defence mechanism.
and please remember: bullying exists in many different forms, often not immediately visible if you don't know what to look for.
