another bit of art for @tolkiengenweek - for the prompts "family" & "group dynamic" :D
Has this been done yet? I had so much fun with it :D and it's the first time I've drawn Curufin & Amrod & Amras, so it was a blast to figure out designs for them! I'm pretty sure Celegorm is crouching for the photo. There's no way Maglor's taller than him.

day 1 of @tolkiengenweek: fingon & maeglin in mandos.
a little while ago i did this piece and @tanoraqui mentioned maeglin in the tags. anyways i was thinking about which nolofinwion would be best at dealing w maeglin's trauma.
turgon means well, but maeglin probably doesn't want to talk to him. aredhel is a) his mom and b) part of the traumatic backstory so that would also be difficult. argon never even made it past the grinding ice (and frankly i havent figured out his personality enough to do one of these). fingon, however, kept nicely to the theme of eldest son & youngest grandson and made sense trauma-wise.
so anyways here's fingon helping maeglin deal with the aftermath of his time in morgoth's captivity and the trauma of losing aredhel.

I like to think Celegorm left Huan with Maedhros while he recovered after Thangorodrim because having Huan around calmed Maedhros down and made him feel safer. Caranthir brought the pillows and the blanket is Fingon's. Helping Maedhros heal was a community effort that made them set their various grievances aside for the time being.
(credit for the idea goes to @outofangband whose worldbuilding and headcanon posts about trauma and recovery inspired this)

Rushing
Aredhel, Celegorm and Curufin where just strolling about when in comes Finrod.
Fingon is just living in the moment, and the Ambarussa take a leaf out of his book.
Poor Maglor has to catch them now, but thankfully his brother Curufin comes prepared with a net.

Day 6 Objects & Symbols for @tolkiengenweek: Silmarils.
#silm#silmarillion#silmarils#earendil#maedhros#maglor#feanor#(he's the little one in the middle)#drawing these silhouettes made me think about how silm fans basically identify characters by symbology/surrounding context#tolkiengenweek#like a vague stick figure of a random star wars human character with no like. lightsaber or anything. is kind of hard to differentiate#and its mostly the same for elves#but we're used to 90+% of elves being only vaguely described in the text as some combination of dark/gold/red/silver hair; tall; pretty#meaning we have to rely more on iconography? is that the right word for it#gold braid? fingon#feanorian stars? one of the feanorions probably#bow in the forest is probably celegorm#if its sindarin bow in the forest then its beleg#female bow in the forest is aredhel#sadness harp and water is maglor#fire doom lava is maedhros#anyways making recognizable silhouettes for maglor maedhros and earendil was surprisingly easy

@tolkiengenweek A day late, but have some tiny Finrod and Turgon for the friendship (and family) prompts.
I imagine Finrod was always dragging Turgon off on little adventures. Here they're building cities sandcastles and having fun on the beach :)
(I have no excuse for their clothes except that Anairë and Eärwen were besties too, so I'm gonna claim they liked dressing their kids up in matching outfits, with them being the same age and all.)
