#I think about 50/50 between a single bed and a Japanese futon (cotton mattress on the floor with a tatami mat)#overall I much prefer futons. I love floor sleeping it’s so cozy#but Watch Out for bugs#and you have to turn it regularly and preferably take it outside on sunny days to make sure it doesn’t get yucky#but I much prefer them over a traditional mattress#way better on my back#twin bed during my childhood and futon for most of my adult life#right now I’m on a couch due to sudden water damage and subsequent mold destroying my expensive futon 😭#likely will swap to a loft bed because I struggle for space in my room#but I’ll definitely miss floor sleeping
