Do you think Eddie and Steve have ever fallen victim to the weird trend of people calling the police to ‘save’ famous people? Like some fans of his tiktok became convinced Steve was holding him hostage after making 2+2=5 when they googled up Billy’s name
This is such an interesting question because I could see it going both ways.
There are always going to be people that look at Eddie and see wanted posters. There are people who will never be convinced that he didn’t commit those murders, and they’re only ever going to see a victim in Steve because of it.
Steve is clumsy. He has a head injury and issues with balance, and sometimes he gets confused. Sometimes he gets bruised. He’s cut his hand in the middle of a seizure and needed stitches. He’s broken his ankle and walked on it for an entire day.
Sometimes nurses and doctors see his injury and see his medical history, and then they see the scruffy guy calling himself his husband, and they ask him to step outside the room. They ask Steve questions and it always takes him a second to realize what they’re trying to get at because domestic abuse is not something that he can attach to Eddie in any capacity.
And Steve will get angry about it. How dare they think such a thing? How could they look at Eddie and see how much love he holds in his heart and think that he would ever hurt Steve?
I think that Eddie is always going to have some fans that see Steve as this bad guy that does not deserve to be with him. There is nothing that he will ever do that can change that. They are just angry that Eddie is with someone other than them.
I can definitely see them hearing about all the bad shit that went down in Hawkins and seeing Steve’s connection to some of it – The coverup story for Starcourt paints Robin and Steve as two dedicated retail employees that saved a bunch of children from a fire – and then take that extra step to twist it into something so much worse.
The kid that went missing in Hawkins in 1983 just so happened to be the little brother of the guy that stole Steve’s high school girlfriend? That’s interesting. That’s suspicious.
And his high school bully (that he apparently hit with a car!) just so happened to die in a fire at his place of work? Weird.
And despite the fact that the police and an angry mob couldn’t find Eddie, Steve Harrington – a video rental employee – happened to find him?
You pair the horror story that was Hawkins in the eighties up with Eddie’s scars and all the off-hand jokes people have made on live-streams about Steve’s sleepwalking, or with Steve’s reactions to being scared and you can make a convincing case for anything.
Eddie ends a live-stream early one night at Steve’s request and then an hour later, they’re getting a knock on the door by two police officers doing a welfare check.
Steve and Eddie are obviously confused, and Steve is really disheartened when one of the officers lets it slip that the person calling was concerned because of a live-stream.
It puts a damper on the date night he’d set up for them in the living room and he doesn’t really want to continue it after the cops leave. Eddie tries to find the bright side of the situation, “Babe, it’s nothing. It’s not like it’ll be in the papers.”
“They think I hurt you,” Steve says. “They – your fans think that I would – that I’d ever – and they’re not wrong, technically. I have hurt you before.”
“And I nearly cut your throat with a broken glass bottle,” Eddie replies, ignoring the way Steve scoffs at him. “Anything that you’ve ever done because you were confused or lost in your head, or sleepwalking doesn’t count. You weren’t all here and it’s not your fault if you aren’t aware of what you’re doing, right? And anyways, I’m typically bothering you.”
“You’re blaming yourself for me hurting you?”
“No, I’m – No. I’m not,” Eddie clarifies. “I am saying that I don’t always come into the situation knowing what’s going on and sometimes I make it worse. Sure, I’ve gotten a bit of a hit. You kick in your sleep. But you have never hurt me.”
“Is it El’s fault when the cabinets rattle when she has a nightmare?” Eddie continues because it’s clear that Steve does not agree with him. “Or that time she got so scared that all the lightbulbs shattered? You got cut when that happened, remember? You have a scar. Is that her fault?”
“That’s different. She can’t-“
“And neither can you,” Eddie says. “I’m telling you now, Stevie. You know what my life was like before I moved in with Wayne. I will never be in a situation like that again. So, if I was than I would not be here, but I am here because you have never done anything to hurt me, okay?”

The similarities between closeted right-wingers and Chris Evans
Alternative title: "Dear Mr. future president Evans,"
Recently, I saw how Chris Evans met Joe Biden. For people who don't know. Chris Evans has a political online platform called ASP. This was not the first time he met a famous politican but meeting the president of the United States is something else. It should be clear by now why he does that... Anyway, it reminded me of the gossip I found recently:
As I mentioned in my last big blog post, about Chris' potential boyfriends, I am not really a fan of marvel and didn't know much about him during his time as Captain America. I only got interested after he started the cringeworthy PR relationship in November 2022. In 2018, I was made aware of how many closeted celebrities exist and Mr. Evans being so clumsy with his Portugal bride gave me the perfect opportunity to uncover this Hollywood facade.
As you can see, I have also been asked by a lot of people why I think Chris could be closeted (either gay, bi or a straight guy who doesn't want to commit and just sleeps around). I will answer these questions in relation to today's topics:
I. The Portugal PR relationship is mostly done for his future political career (or that was the plan before the backlash)
II. The behavior of closeted right-wingers resembles Chris Evans'
III. Portugal Bride was not the first PR relationship rumor but why does a rich, attractive and alleged womanizer like Chris need PR relationships all the time?
As I always say. Everything on my tumblr is alleged. I merely summarize what people speculate online and give my own opinion on that.
Tim Scott, a failed GOP 2024 candidate and alleged closeted gay man, announced on X that he got engaged to a woman:
As you can see from the screenshot, no one's buying it. It is rumored Tim Scott is doing this because he will be chosen as Trump's vice president. People online claim that Tim Scott being gay has been talked about way before the first "Why doesn't have Tim Scott have a girlfriend" articles:
I heard about Tim Scott being gay and being pressured to have a PR girlfriend around the same time Chris pretended to have gotten married in September and that made me think...
I can't find the comment anymore but I remember someone of Chris' fans on the LSA forum suggesting that Chris' "A starting point" political platform isn't just for shits and giggles. Apparently, he wants to go into politics after his acting career.
No idea how successful he will be now with that after his latest movie flops and the Portugal relationship having led to lost followers on his social media accounts because it made him appear as a "dollar store Leonardo DiCaprio" but in general..., this idea isn't too far off.
Remember the Terminator aka Arnold Schwarzenegger? An action hero became the Governor of California and with Chris Evan's fake Captain America image, pretending online and in interviews to be like Steve Rogers, he could sway a lot of people too!
Remember. The alleged marriage wasn't the first PR relationship of Chris Evans. At least according to his fandom, when they explained how he and Portugal Bride met, he was involved in several other PR relationships before:
According to this person, the relationships with Christina Ricci and Minka Kelly from long ago, were planned by a PR team too and it adds up with a blog post I found years ago about how Minka is allegedly a beard for my back then favorite actor Jake Gyllenhaal. So his PR team not only allegedly had several options next to the Portugal Bride (like Monica Barbaro) but they were apparently also responsible for his faked relationship with Lily James? It is rumored that Lily wanted more from this PR arrangement from back in 2020. Possibly real love? The social media site Icons+ reports that "Lily James left Chris Evans to be a millionaire's "other woman"". She basically publicly "cheated" on Chris and many gossip sites reported on it. Did Lily do that as revenge because Chris solely wanted PR and rejected her? Kinda like "if you don't give me real love, I ain't giving you positive PR either". It makes me wonder though. Why would a heterosexual man privately reject a pretty woman like Lily James after wanting to be seen with her in paparazzi photographs after all? Odd.
Yes, Chris' alleged personal Paparazzo with the name Jesal basically admitted that he was called to do the pictures with Lily back in 2020 (Nowadays, he seems to be busy with the Portugal PR relationship as you can see from the screenshot, where he was called for a christmas party Portugal Bride and Chris attended).
This reminds me of of another failed 2024 GOP candidate who is rumored to be closeted. There is a medium article regarding Ron DeSantis called "Is the GOP gossiping that Ron DeSantis is gay?", how most if not all of the GOP party know about his alleged homosexualty:
As you can see, not just his own party but the general public thinks so too. In fact, they speak about Ron DeSantis' being closeted the same way some people speak about Chris being allegedly closeted:
The replies to this dailymail article about Chris' and Portugal Bride's relationship-reveal, demonstrate that people think that both Chris and Ron overplay the alpha male macho tough guy image, solely to cover their true sexual orientation.
But PR relationships can also have another function. As I pointed out on my blog before: There are many heterosexual men I know who just wanted to sleep around but because of societal pressure, they pretend to be monogamous. The latest political example of that seems to be Gavin Newsom who has been in the news for being an alleged serial cheater. He was already caught cheating back in 2007. On X I found this summary of his latest shenanigans:

Why do I mention Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsom in relation to Chris Evans? Because they all have one thing in common. A fake stable married man image. Look at the header picture of DeSantis and Newsom on X. Newsom holding his son in his harm. A few weeks ago, DeSantis had a header picture of holding his children's hands and the latest picture, you can see right now, also shows his wife and kids again to portray the family man image while allegedly being someone completely different (a closet case = Ron, a cheater= Gavin).
Sorry not sorry but when I saw those header images combined with the rumors I knew about those two guys, I immediately though that Chris is not so different. He also calls the paparazzi, so he can be portrayed for the public as a guy who has a stable relationship and doesn't randomly sleep around in all kids of places.
As someone pointed out on the Lipstick Alley thread called "Chris Evans Relationship Theories 5", he used to go to parties similar to the ones seen in the movie "Eyes Wide Shut" but these rumors were allegedly scrapped by his team when he became Captain America. Why did they worry so much about this specific gossip? Was it true after all? Apparently this goes back as far as 2006:
I have no problems with that because I am pro sexual liberation. I actually point this out so we can normalize this and let people be who they really are, so that they don't have to do these fake relationships anymore.
I mean, remember the screenshot from my "Chris Evans possible boyfriends" post? The user ShellyT20... how she described that a lot of PR relationships in Hollywood exist because the male actors either sleep with each other, have p-word scandals and/or are serial cheaters "but post fake romance stuff on IG and other public platforms. It gives a fake sense of normalcy and stability and shuts fans up for the most part as well as acting as a distraction."
When I read this I got reminded of the public "beyond the blinds podcast" episode you can listen to on spotify. The one about the Hemsworth brothers. There it was alleged that Chris Hemsworth is constantly cheating. I wasn't surprised. He isn't my type but I can't deny that he is what most consider super attractive + tall + rich = in no way is this guy monogamous as a famous hollywood actor (LMAO the audactiy to even thinkt hat)... Sadly, when I confront some people with that... for instance Evans fans on LSA or X, most roll their eyes and don't believe that.... They were like: "How can a guy like C. Hemsworth, who posts social media posts about loving being a father and being married for over a decade possibly be such a bad guy"... ... ... ... ... Well and this the reason why Hollywood still fools you with PR relationships because most of you are gullible. You want to see men married with children and as long as the women are age appropriate, you eat it up.
And all this goes even beyond these Hollywood celebrities and politicians the general public is aware of. Apparently, even e-celebs are in PR relationships/fake image relationships these days.

Just like how Chris Evan's fans are disappointed that he wasn't the internet boyfriend after all (his fake image for the 2010s) and started to date random young women like Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper, TheQuartering was disappointed too with his right-wing colleagues, who pretended to be committed husbands with children while actually being a closeted pride parade.
The right-wing commentarors TheQuartering talks about are: Elijah Schaffer, Jack Posobiec and Mike Cernovich.
When I found that out I was shocked. I was like "So even these e-celebs are basically "their own Hollywood club" and need PR relationships to function publicly". It really shows how deep gender roles are still ingrained in our society. That even internet-famous people have to have a family man image and portray themselves in a certain way to become "e-celeb-A-list". And if they don't, they will be denied that status.
I know it hurts that your favorite A-list stars are also wife cheaters and that their activism is most likely fake only so that they can continue participating in Hollywood orgies (Which apparently already happen on the e-celeb level). But at one point it had to come out and isn't it better to accept reality than to participate in and support these fake scenarios only to feel better about the world?
Cause it is not just TheQuartering who exposed the fake image of the right-wing online community. Blaire White, a right-winger herself, pointed out the same. As people say, where there is smoke, there is fire:

Lastly, one of the most famous right-wing e-celebs is Steven Crowder. On his channel he had a video where he once admitted that he had a bisexual phase... a phase..

He also went so far and basically created beard twins. I remember clearly the video where he announced the pregnancy of his wife. He held up a picture into the camera from an ultrasound. It was like "See, I am hetero after all. Are you happy now?". That's at least my opinion on how the video looked like and it adds up with what peole usually say about him:
Honestly, if someone had told me that this text is about Chris Evans, I'd have believed it and so now we have come full circle. While I only know about Chris Evan's since the pandemic (As I said, I don't watch super hero movies), I am still disappointed. In some interviews, he appeared so adorable, awkward and different from other men in Hollywood (like when he was interviewed about his "Lightyear movie announcement" tweet on Jimmy Kimmel). But in the end he is no better than the closeted republicans. Portraying a conservative image of marriage while behind closed doors it is worse than a sitcom trying to convince you that canned laughter makes everything funnier.

Yes, there have always been rumors that his real personality is being "weird and awkward" and that he is not just acting in movies but also in most interviews. It goes so far that someone claimed he had been rejected on a date and that's why some people assume it is actually him who initiated the Portugal PR relationship and basically paid for it because he can't get someone himself through normal means. Are some people punished with their good looks?
IMO just like with the married right-wing e-celebs who do orgies all the time, it is also a bad idea of Chris wanting to become a father (at least according to his "sexiest man alive" PR narrative from 2022 which seems to be in the trash can now too).
But let's assume his PR team has that still on their minds: Not only would it be solely for his image (which would make this situation PR either way, even if the marriage were real) but according to all his alleged wild ways, he is also unfit to parent, it would be a disaster actually.
Controversial commentator Pearl Davis described it very well. How some people just shouldn't be parents:

Sorry but after seeing this picture, I have to agree with her. I love his clothing style but a bi-peacock who is more interested in vanity and fake status will never be a good role model for children. As the saying goes: "You can't have it both ways"
I know this is all a tough pill to swallow but c'mon people. This is the year 2024 and at one point this fakeness just needs to stop. Celebrities, politicians and even social meda e-celebs... you are being fooled. And according to Hollywood insider and daughter of famous TV personality John Walsh, a lot of times, one partner of the arrangement is suffering. Is this really what you support? I don't and that's why I uncover all these PR relationships of the entertainment world because as a true progressive, I don't think that people should be judged based on outdated gender expectations like marriage and monogamy.
The closet kills... your real personality. I mean honestly, what do you gain from being remembered after your death as someone you never were? As Joan Rivers jokes at 0:43 in a short clip from 1966. This so called bearding has been going on forever. I don't think we need a 100th anniversary of this shameful practice. So please help me to expose this so that in the future, celebrities can become famous for truly being themselves.

He thought you were a very special source of entertainment at first;
Teasing you has become one of the peaks of Leona's day. Studying could suck, being bothered by annoying herbivores even more so, but seeing your angry face and your attempts to fight back with him always improved his mood. Your courage — and a bit of senselessness — sets you apart from the rest and Leona gets to respect that;
That's why he nicknamed you “meerkat”. There is a little tale for children in Afterglow Savannah that the most clumsy of the meerkats managed to be friends with a large wild boar and was brave enough to find a safer place for his flock. They said he was kind of crazy and Leona remembered laughing a lot at this story when he was little;
When you nudge him out of your way, step on his foot, or call him an “furry electric pole”, Leona remembers this classic character from his land. Would you dare to throw yourself in front of a lion like him and say what you think, without being afraid to die? Absolutely. You already called him “lazy cat”, wringing a delicious laugh out of him;
And to your worst bad luck: you liked to see Leona laugh. Sometimes not laughing in a smug way, but genuinely. Not that you have lost the ability to call him creatively. You literally jumped near him, managing to reach his shoulder and announce your presence. Leona would give you a little look, seeing your hands sliding down his arm without letting go, and grin. You two are a pretty weird pair;
No matter the situation or environment, Leona likes to lean on you and defend himself without concern from your punches to his torso and your kicks to his shin. You lose complete track of time or what people are talking about but it's so fun that it's worth it;
When you eventually confessed your feelings, it was time for your first kiss. You laughed, asking if the most dignified lion could squat down for you to reach him and in response, Leona held on by the waist, so that you ended up even taller than him. “Is the view from the pride rock beautiful?,” Leona asked. “Um, the Lion King over here is more.”
“Hey, little flounder… smooth? What's that face?” Why do light breezes always carry a tsunami with them? You sighed as you felt a big, tall presence leaning against you. Floyd Leech had another one of those big, toothy smiles on his face, his eyes staring at you with a mysterious glow. You tried to step on his foot and run from there;
From the very first moment, Floyd felt that you would be an interesting person to get along with. You must have been one of the shortest people he has ever met — in general, everyone is already short to him — but, there is something in your gaze and in your stubbornness to accept yourself as a prey in that ocean of dangers that awakens unexpected feelings in Floyd;
Therefore, he likes to observe you and talk with you, observing your reactions and the way you act. Floyd would joke that this is “tasting the food” but in reality, it's a very detailed study of you as a person. This is what helps Floyd in any quarrel. Proportionally, you ended up getting his way of acting. At first, you responded to Floyd's taunts in the same way. When he asked where you were because he didn't see you, you said you were right below him, ready to punch his balls. But, now more experienced, you found a way to cut Floyd’s animation before it stretched any further than it should. It was only when you started complimenting the fact that he was tall that everything would lose its grace. However, sometimes you would give such an ironic and backhanded compliment that a smile would quickly return to Floyd's face. Did you really think you would get rid of him so easily?;
Your affectionate nickname as “flounder” is a joke about the favorite type of fish of a famous mermaid in the Coral Sea. She was friends with an especially fearful flounder, but at the right moments, he swallowed his fears and even managed to hit an eel with his tail. Floyd can see these same characteristics in you;
It makes Floyd even imagine what you would be like if you were underwater because his original form of eel is immense and if you were really a flounder — or a shrimp, whatever — you would remain a cute little thing that he would like to bite and tease. And you would have the same amusing folly of trying to hit him with your short tail;
Certain times, when you were in a bad mood and Floyd appeared, you would run up to him to hang yourself in his arms as if he was a large tree branch at your disposal. Floyd didn't care because it was kind of funny. “Do you think my arm is a plank?,” he laughed. “Forgive me for stealing the joke, but honestly, I'm short-tempered today,” you'd reply, frowning;
Without you two being able to stop it, something else came up between you. The pranks and jokes were getting less serious and ended up becoming a cool dynamic banter. Floyd liked to mess your hair up and give your head a strong caress, which you responded to by holding his back tight and sometimes climbing on him like he was your seahorse. Imagine the chaos in the hallways;
Falling in love with a tall person has its advantages. Floyd also sees this in your case as well. With you next to him, he could just hold you in front of someone and let your cute little face melt the person's heart. To which he ends up blurting out that this effect would be short-lived because you’re a little gremlin — as if he weren’t some ninety-one foot tall Godzilla;
When you had called Floyd to go in the yard that day, he thought it was funny that you had climbed up on the bench and stared at him from up there. “Will you try to dive on me, little flounder?,” he asked, amused and curious. “Only if I'm going to kiss you, stupid!” And it was in that moment that Floyd was sure you were the one.

Liyue has been undeniably cheerful nowadays. Lantern Rite season, after all, does hold a special place in every Liyuen's heart. It would be rare to find a single face that doesn't bear a smile—yet not impossible, for you're absent and I'm alone.
Changsheng is an amazing company, but even she has few topics to speak of which don't all end at you, reminding me of your absence. I resisted the urge to reach out to you, for you must be quite busy, but I believe I may relax such restrictions once in a while. I hope Sumeru is treating you well, considering how the weather and geographical conditions are quite similar in both nations.
If you would not mind, I'd love to recount a small, laughably insignificant event that took place the very week you left. Remember, the mushrooms and Sumeru rose samples you'd sent to me? They were quite helpful with my research, however what caught my fancy even more was the small batch of green fur that sneaked its way inside the brown paper bag. Certainly, I was curious and was just as quick to question the existence of fennec foxes or furry animals, specifically green in colour, within the Avidya forest.
Much to my luck, I had accidentally signed the letter in quite an ambiguous manner and it ended up on the desk of a Junior Forest Ranger, who was quick to correct me on my mistake and wrote me back about her Master Tighnari, who happened to have green fur. What a pleasant way to be introduced to someone whom I looked forward to meeting the next time when in Sumeru!
Well, then what, I asked her politely not to mention it to anyone and wrote simultaneously to Tighnari. We've established a lovely correspondence by now, and are both willing to provide books and research material and help each other with samples of rarer plant and animal species.
A small thing I'd like to mention, as well—
Tighnari reached out to me a while back regarding your transitions with him. While I would never go as far as keeping tabs on you, I must put in a warning here—you must never consume Rose honey with the sleep medicines, they're extremely bad for your skin. As you asked, the house has been in immaculate condition, Qiqi has been a great help in helping look after the plants and the fish pond. - laughts at you. this bastard straight up bursts into laughter whenever you trip or bump your head into something. he DOES ask you if you're okay and helps you up, but not after laughing at your clumsiness first. he's actually pretty clumsy too, so i guess you two are a match made in heaven (/j) one time you two were walking somewhere and you tripped and fell, scout saw it and immediately started laughing.... but as he kept walking he didn't notice the lamp post right in front of him, so he face planted into it... serves him right
PYRO
- noooo s/o don't touch that thing you're gonna get electrocuted!!! pyro worries so much about you :(( they really care about you and your health, so they made it their personal goal to make sure you're safe as possible! which means you are not leaving their sight. EVER. prepare for them to cling onto you 24/7 to make sure you don't do something stupid.... however if you manage to get hurt EVEN despite pyro's observant gaze, they will totally patch you up!! boom, now you're covered from head to toe in cute and colorful bandaids
SOLDIER
- he has no sense of self preservation. soldier often does dumb shit that gets him injured and he doesn't even realize it, so chances are he doesn't notice whenever YOU are about to do dumb shit... you guys are a disaster (affectionate). you both get injured often, but soldier can be very dramatic when it comes to your injuries. it doesn't matter whether it's just a small scractch, he WILL carry you in his arms to the medbay while screaming stuff like "HANG IN THERE S/O, DON'T DIE ON ME!" needless to say, he takes your health very seriously
HEAVY
- oh my God you're gonna be the death of him!! he worries SO MUCH!! you can tell he's really worried of how often you injure yourself completely on accident! because of this heavy often gives you little warnings whenever you're about to do something clumsy, such as reminding you to not bump your head in the doorframe or telling you to tie your shoelaces.... he tries his best but you still get injured, so when that happens he holds your hand and brings you to medic. if it's a smaller injury he just sits you down and makes you a sandvich to cheer you up
DEMOMAN
- okay so this is interesting. at first demo laughed at your clumsiness. not really in a malicious way, he just thought you seem pretty silly tripping over nothing and bumping into glass. he always helped you up afterwards, and overall took your clumsiness lightheartedly... but after a while he was like HOLD UP you get injured WAY too often!!! he soon started worrying about you more and more to the point he just started fussing over you like he's your mom or something, scolding you for not being careful and shit. also, my man gets EMOTIONAL!! so you better learn how to be not-clumsy or else you will have to deal with a worried drunk demoman who bursts into tears whenever you get a tiny scratch for the rest of your life
ENGINEER
- he actually finds your clumsiness to be pretty endearing!! he's like "y'all look at my wonderful s/o aren't they lovely :)" and it's just you falling off of a chair. engie knows that it's not your fault and that he can't stop you from being a clumsy dumbass either so instead he embraces this part of you and finds it lowkey cute!! cause he finds EVERYTHING about you cute!! he always patches you up after you injure yourself and actually thinks it's a great bonding experience lol. also if you ever feel insecure about your clumsiness then engie will totally reassure you and remind you of how cool and awesome you are!!
MEDIC
- quite indifferent to it actually. he thinks your clumsiness is kinda cute and entertaining, and he doesn't mind patching you up! you just happen to be a regular guest on his operating table, which he doesn't mind! gives him quite the excuse to spend time with you :D also, medic kind of turns it into a game-- somehow it's fun to try to figure out HOW exactly you got all those random bruises and scratches. spoiler alert you guys never figure it out and the cause of your bruises will forever be a mystery
SPY
- seeing you get hurt over and over again because of the dumb shit you do makes him SO frustrated. believe me... this man tries his best to look after you and make sure you're okay but you still manage to get scratched and injured! ohh but don't worry, his anger is NEVER directed at you, but rather at everything else around you. he's the type of guy who sees you trip over nothing and he's like "haha love you're so clumsy! :)" but when you're not looking he will pull out his knife and try to stab the air
SNIPER
- oh he is TIRED. sniper also makes it his personal goal to keep you safe, so he often watches you and looks out for any potential threats. it doesn't work, you still get hurt. everytime he sees you trip and fall or bump into something (even if he warned you) he just lets out the loudest sigh ever, walks up to you and offers you a bandaid from the med kit he always carries with him (because of YOU). one time he was just done with your bullshit and threw you on his shoulder, he carried you like that for a WHOLE DAY but you STILL managed to get scratches and stuff. after this happened sniper really started to question what evil spirit of clumsiness possessed you for you to be like this

Ahh these are wonderful prompts, and while I first thought of the words being said TO Jaskier, I ended up changing that. So here we go, and I hope you enjoy 💚

Packing your things once you’d woken up to leave Geralt and Jaskier hadn’t exactly been the best choice, but now you were on your way. You’d been travelling with them for a few months now, and you’d thoroughly enjoyed their company, had tried your best to be helpful, but lately that feeling of being more of a burden to them than really being of help, had become so big, that you couldn’t push it aside anymore. None of them had said anything to you about the last couple of days, but you’d seen the way Geralt had looked at you. You’d always been a little clumsy, but lately, that had happened more often. Dropped food, ripped clothes, and what not - only because you got distracted by Jaskier’s smile. It hadn’t been like this in the beginning, and to be honest, he’d been kind of annoying, but boy, if he didn’t make your heart flutter every time he looked at you now.
It was safer to leave them alone, to guard your heart, and to let them travel without you slowing them down. Because you were convinced that you were doing just that. Not on purpose obviously, but the thought of slowing them in their journey had weighed you down the last couple of days. So, yesterday you’d decided to leave them and travel by yourself, or maybe find a place to stay, find work, settle down… It sounded like a good idea, but as you were walking along to road all by yourself in the dawn, the sky still in different tones of purple and punk, you weren’t so sure if you’d made the right choice.
“Y/N! Wait!” you heard a voice behind you, heard the person walk faster to catch up with you. Your heart skipped a beat, because you knew it was Jaskier.
“Where do you think you’re going?” hesked, panting, trying to catch his breath, but you didn’t stop, no, you kept on walking, because you knew that if you stopped, you’d turn around with him.
“Don’t know yet.” You kept your eyes straight ahead, hoping that he’d realise that this wasn’t a good idea, that he should just go back to Geralt.
“And why are you leaving us? Without a single word?” You could hear the hurt in his voice, and when he grabbed your wrist, you slowed your steps, then stopped, but you still weren’t able to look at him.
“Talk to me,” he pleaded, loosening the grip on your wrist and taking your hand in his instead.
“I’m not good at goodbyes.” A sigh escaped your lips. You closed your eyes, trying to ignore the tingles that spread along your arm from where he was touching you.
“But why do you even want to say goodbye?”
“‘Cause you’re better off without me.” You were finally facing him, trying your best not to cry.
“What makes you say that?” Jaskier was taken aback. He raised his hand to brush his knuckles across your cheek, which made you close your eyes for a moment, revelling in the feeling.
“I messed up so much the last couple of days… It#s slowing you down.”
“Stuff like that happens. It’s not a big deal.” But it was to you, and he could feel it. He’d felt the same in the beginning, but he’d still stuck to Geralt’s side instead of turning around and running away. Maybe, Geralt would have liked that, but he was stuck with Jaskier. “You are not a burden, okay?” Jaskier cupped your cheek, ran his thumb over your cheek. “I rather like having you around, and so does Geralt, he’s just not good at showing that.”
“You sure?” Doubt was still nagging at you, but his words had made you smile. You’d been so worried, but you hadn’t said a word. Maybe, a little communication would have helped you.
“Of course I am! I’d never lie to you!” He pulled his hand from your cheek, only to place it over his own heart. “So what, sometimes shit happens, we’ve all been there, and it’ll happen again. But that doesn’t mean that we’d be better off without you. Definitely not.”
Slowly, a smile spread on your lips, pushing the doubt you’d felt moments before more and more aside.
“So…” Jaskier made you look up at him again with his words. “Will you stay?”
“Yeah… I guess so.” One look in his eyes and you weren’t even able to turn around and walk away from him.
“Great, then let’s get back before Geralt wakes up.” Jaskier leaned towards you to place a kiss on your cheek, before he clasped your hand in his once more. He was definitely not letting go of your hand until you reached the camp. Maybe not even then because he rather liked holding hands with you.

I truly think that every oc creator/person who makes a lot of content for some show/game/movie/etc should really get into some kind of handcraft.
Like i feel the most common types of fanworks ppl make for shows is art or writing (Same for oc worlds) and that's awesome, i'm no exception, but if you're able (Cause i understand if you're not able, in which case I would suggest alternatives, but I can't think of any, so if anyone wants to give alternatives in tags or smth that would be nice) I really do recommend getting into some kind of hobby that lets you Make Things with your Hands (crochet, knitting, sewing, embroidery, doll customs if you have the money (And even if you don't you can always find a way.)).
Because if you do it will:
a) allow you a break from drawing or writing or your most common mode of "making content" for ocs or fandoms (I don't at all like that phrase lol)
b) You can make your ocs or their clothes in real life you can TOUCH it you can INTERACT with it (i'm crocheting my oc's sweater over the summer!!!!! doll customizers can make their ocs or their blorbos or whatever!!!! IN REAL LIFE!!!!) and that idea is fucking crazy to me so of course i love it
c) If you're in a rut artistically just do the other handcraft lol!
This is from the point of view of an able-bodied person who draws and crochets primarily and can afford many of the materials for the craft, so there's a lot of stuff I DON'T know about (how disability, income, etc affects this + as simple as other types of handcrafts i dont know about) and I'm okay with admitting that*. I want people to share the joy I have for creation or some shit like that. Actually i want people to understand that you can make your oc's clothes in real life or perhaps even a cotton doll of them. You just have to learn.
*also, i am clumsy with my words, so ask for clarification if you're struggling to understand the post pls!

On the one hand I think it would be really funny if one of my posts blew up, but on the other hand I’d be more self conscious and I am almost certain that people would be annoying with me about veganism. There are literally blogs dedicated to countering dumb arguments and they are so much more eloquent than me. Acti-veg is right there you don’t need to pester me about it, they can word things a million times better than my clumsy ass. I don’t even post about veganism 24/7. It’s in my description because I do post about it, but i reblog memes more than anything else. I do wish I was better at debating for the sake of all the important things I care about. I care about humans as well, and no, those two aren’t mutually exclusive, I say this to people who resist animal rights because they think you can’t do that and care about human rights AND to vegans who, understandably, have become very disillusioned with the current dominant human cultures and outlooks on the treatments of animals. It’s always hard when you see something that is everywhere and is fucked up. It can be hard to not feel only bitterness and despair. For people who aren’t vegan, it could be compared to realizing how fucked up capitalism is and being surrounded by people who defend the system, even people who are hurt by it (so, real life). I can point people in the direction of others who are better at communicating (whenever I have a singular person who comes to mind first, so many things have so many people that I have trouble thinking of just one. Veganism is so weirdly shit upon on this website though that I can think of blogs specifically dedicated to it with far more ease) I didn’t decide to just go vegan on a whim. Going vegetarian was an easy choice to me, but the culture of using animals is so ubiquitous that I myself resisted veganism for quite awhile. This didn’t pop out of nowhere. I gradually noticed things until I went “what I’m doing is actually pretty fucked up and I can stop doing so many of these things” to minimize the amount of harm you do whenever it’s possible and can be done in practice. It’s not some crazy definition, it’s not some unattainable philosophy to do your best to live by, the official definition doesn’t say “stop taking your medication” but you can try to buy things without animal products or testing when I comes to like, shampoo. If you are like “but I don’t have options when it comes to shampoo!” Is there literally anything else you can change? That is what it’s about. The thing is, a lot of people can change more than they expect they can. I can’t show up at your house, look through your budget, check every store you can shop at, but if you can do even a little of that some time, you are at least doing better and are closer to doing everything you can in your own life. If you want to get more defensive and go “what about this person who isn’t me” or “what about this thing I haven’t really thought about for more than a literal minute” whatever it is, it has probably been addressed by someone who actually has a better way with words than me. I won’t just shut up about everything I care about, but I won’t pretend that whatever it is hasn’t already been addressed by a million people who are better than me, and you just don’t care enough to listen to them.
This has turned into me rambling but I am so so tired of encountering the same arguments a million times by people who think that they have some hot new take, and I know I’d have so many people doing that if I got more popular on main. I don’t really mind more people finding me funny or being exposed to a new idea by seeing something I’ve posted or shared, but I am fucking tired of being expected to be some professional or even amateur debater because I care about something and share that person’s post. I know some people are going to dismiss me because of that, but it has already been addressed by a million people better at doing it than me, and whoever is talking to me probably wouldn’t even listen to that anyway. It’s like someone asking you about “why is capitalism bad” and you have seen whatever they throw at you hundreds of times and you know a fuck tonne of people have already explained why capitalism bad. It’s just that whoever it is wants you, just some guy, to explain it and explain it better than you, a random meme guy who cares about things but isn’t practiced in explaining more than the definition of an English word or something.

I’m sorry about your work being erased (´._.`)\(‘́⌣’̀ )
An advice I have is to consider (only if you want, of course! No pressure!) to always write using the notepad on your phone first or a Google Doc & then copy it over & format it after you paste it on tumblr (since sometimes formatting/spacing is lost when pasting from another source), so that you can always have at least another copy in case smth goes wrong you know what I mean?
If you decide to use the app only still, maybe you can try to save the draft after every paragraph or two that you type…it may seem tedious but it’s a safe way to know you won’t have lost a bunch of your stuff if something goes awry because you have updated the draft, so it’s less stressful…I don’t know how long you’ve been tumbling but just in case you didn’t already know, another thing I noticed is that, when you type posts on your phone in-browser (as oppose to the app), it auto-saves the draft pretty often without you having to click save— A little green message pops up & tells you that it just did, but you don’t have to exit the draft for that to happen…even an unaddressed email draft auto saves too & has formatting options too so you can type it exactly as you want to post it with any bolds or italics, etc ( ◠‿◠ ). Or if you use a laptop instead of your phone, Word (& maybe other word processors) and Google Docs (& still emails in browser also!) all have auto save features too~ I’m not a writer but i have been on tumblr’s janky ass site for like 11 or so years, and half of that ago I got sick of suffering the force-closing bugs that happens the minute the staff/devs decide the app needs an update iMMeDiAteLy or accidentally leaving the app & coming back only to find my timeline refreshing itself without my post being open…or even if my phone screen locked becauseI looked away for 30 seconds while I was on low-power mode, or just accidentally locked it in general, so I type in the iPhone Notes app when I’m gonna make a text post (big or small) or to send an ask (like this one ^^) because sometimes I can press send & the message sent thing doesn’t show up or the app closes instead the second I hit “ask”. That way, the worst case scenario I do have not just the one I copied the text from (which is also beneficial because if I’m trying to ‘select’ for whatever reason & accidentally “cut” or backspace a whole big ass portion of what I typed (🥲), when I shake the phone it lets me undo actions & so will restore what I erased. The phone shaking thing works in app sometimes too but it only works for the text chunk you were just in, as opposed to continuing to allow undos like in notes. If you don’t use iPhones, well, idk for sure but android or operating systems probably have some similar “hidden tricks” for undoing (or redoing, in add you undo something you didn’t mean to undo— I’m clumsy so I manage to goof in all kinds of ways upwards backwards under and sideways 🫠) things you have typed, you maybe could search engine to see if there exists such a thing before you start back writing, it could help you sorta feel more secure/less apprehensive to start up again? Idk how it is for other people but for me personally I feel more relaxed if I have a backup plan.
Plus, even then when you think you copied it over to a new post tumblr completely and thought you were done, if you deleted the notepad draft, there’s usually a “recently deleted” spot so you can still revive your work ^^ unlike this hellsite where if something is deleted, it is gone into the abyss forever with no retrieval.
I did notice however, that when I type on posts, sometimes it’ll seem like a bunch of shit just got deleted or stopped showing up even though I am typing??? and I can’t see the words anymore, (just black) but I figured out if you go to select a new font size of that chunk, (or sometimes even just changing the color) it makes the stuff I thought wasn’t being typed anymore, reappear😲 Weird, I know. It especially happens when I go to edit a sentence (something as small as a change in punctuation!😒) in a previous paragraph or paste a pic or something in the middle of two paragraphs. No clue why it’s like that, but then you can press back to the size or coloring you were trying to do originally where you left off. Sometimes if I have to paste something I wanted to have in between other places already there, I find it better from experience to paste it at the bottom and then rearrange the text blocks to the correct order afterward. I actually usually do multiple of these at a time because I’m so paranoid not just about posts but in life in general haha. I’m soft hearted and very sensitive so when my stuff gets messed up by tumblr I cry sometimes, even if it’s just that the proofreading I may have done after I copied from my notes to the post I was trying to create got unformatted lol 😓
*None of this is to say or assume that you don’t already know all of these things, I just thought to tell you juuuust in case you didn’t~ ^^*
If you don’t wanna & feel you weren’t ready or confident yet or anything hesitant, like I said we aren’t going anywhere 😊 and sometimes we (I read a LOT of fics 😅) have to wait months and months (or even a year or more…yes really 🥲) for a single chapter update, so it’s not as if you’ll have made us wait an assload of time for it; I’m not just saying it to butter you up, seriously, we’re lucky that you post as often as you do especially cus you’re a working mom raising your daughter alone! So try to chin up :)
I’m sure it’s very frustrating to have to redo it but…on the bright side, while you try to write it again, you may find words or another even better way of phrasing that you couldn’t think of for previous version to express what you’re trying to convey at that part 🤠. And if you don’t, that’s ok too!! No one but you knows what you had written, so it’s not like anyone could criticize you or say “it is worse this time”…we will eat what you put on our plates whenever you serve the meal & that’s that on that (◡‿◡✿)

What is the most difficult thing about writing your current muse?
This one feels like a trick question cos i always have 5 - 7 muses active in my brain simultaneously and equally, it's just a matter of who I get to talk to first OTL I'll write a few for this one but dont think i can again for the next question 😭
Raizol - Difficult parsing out her behaviors and possible outcomes because she's such a spur of the moment kind of person at the WORST of times and can be unpredictable. Many different outcomes for one situation, many that all fit her as a character, and sometimes I gotta roll for it to see how to go about continuing something
Geniva - I wouldn't call it difficult per se, but it's a matter of not being able to control how people view and treat him as a character. He's good at pretending to be a face character with little going on and can be goofy and, as I'm told, "has himbo qualities". It's difficult to write a well meaning dude and see him get beat down and be boiled to one thing. EMOTIONALLY. it hurts me. i take psychic damage because he's my everything. hes my silly rabbit. i put him in situations and not a lot of ppl who enjoy him actually understand him (i trust him with such few people here in the community actually)
Xizaya - Man it's fucking hard to play someone so emotionally closed off ern how to Not be when my first instinct myself is to always be open and friendly and make connections and love so openly and unapologetically. It's a clash between the mun's and muse's personality! I scream bloody murder when i want him to do a certain way and just show he cares but know he can't or won't because it doesn't fit him as character. Like a fan screaming at the TV.
Himmel - It's difficult watching almost 10 years of writing into one character be taken as just One thing or just One way like how am i supposed to explain all the things he's gone through and how he's changed and grown alongside me as a person TEHRE IS SO MUCH TO HIMMEL. THERE IS SO MUCH TO HIM I DON'T TALK ABOUT. some of it is due to clumsy writing because I Have Been Writing Him Since I Was 14 Years Old. that shit is so hard. i have to beam vibes into your brain because I dont have the PATIENCE to explain it all more than once

Geniva - Despite everything he's a really hopeful person and is the most driven motherfucker in my entire roster. He goes after what he needs and wants and it ALWAYS gets done. He ALWAYS reaches the end of his goal, it's kinda inspiring tbh
Xizaya - His willingness to connect and keep trying even if he's really messy. Like, he's learning, he's doing okay. Things can get a little fucked up but he's gotten more patient and understanding with himself.
Himmel - Dramatic and loves loudly and refuses to water himself down for anyone. If you can't handle him then that's your loss. He's got a lot of self love actually and it makes me emotional
What makes for a great roleplay partner in your opinion
being able to bounce off each other is a given and so is being able to match my energy or at least SHOW enthusiasm, but I'm not here to talk abt the bare minimum. My fave RP partners are the people who accidentally slip into RP with me after talking back and forth abt certain scenarios like. Like writing comes so easy. My best RP partners are the people that accidentally slip into RP w/me because it shows you're just as into it as I am and ready for More TM. I like getting to bounce around the timeline, to talk in depth about the characters and what their dynamic does for one another, and I love when that person does the same @ me.
If you could tell your muse something, what would it be?
Raizol - You don't need to break yourself trying to reach redemption. Self flagellation won't get you anywhere and it certainly won't help you move on. You did what you can and it's okay.
Geniva - Let go. Look forward. You went through hell to get here so you should let yourself enjoy where you are NOW.
Xizaya - Your survived and that's enough. You can live now.
Himmel - You can't fix everyone. You can't fix people and people only change if THEY want to. So stop acting surprised when your projects give you papercuts.

For the first time ever in my life, at the age of 27, I actually have my first boyfriend and only had my first kiss yesterday. It was clumsy and we were like that was terrible but let’s keep doing it! Turns out he’s never had a girlfriend before either and we’re both just super inexperienced so it just kinda makes me feel better about it all cause yeah it’s awkward and weird and I dunno what I’m doing but it’s not just me going through that, and the person going through the same stuff isn’t just my mates who I can talk to about it, but my boyfriend so we can talk to each other about it and learn these new experiences together.
Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get a boyfriend but at the same time I’m quite glad for it because I think I’d have been way too shy and awkward in the past to deal with it. I still am shy and awkward, but nowhere near as bad as I was. Plus, I’m past the point of caring what others think so the relationship is minimal effort right now, whereby he just comes over and we chat and watch tv and shit, and it’s what we’re both after cause that to us counts as a date and we might go out occasionally and do something but we don’t feel the need to always be out, because it’s easy and comfortable to be around each other and the convo just flows.
If I could go back in time and tell my younger self that it’s good they don’t have a boyfriend yet cause even if they think they’re ready, they’re not, there’s no way they’d have believed me haha. I’m also really glad we’re on the same page and that he understands that I’m ill and can’t do much, and he appreciates the time I spend with him, and vice versa. It’s just nice to be with someone who understands as much as they can what I’m going through without going through it themselves.
Now I just need to find out somehow if we’re doing Xmas cards cause we don’t do them in my fam for like, bro, his gf, mum and dad. Also need to find out what he wants to do about presents cause we’re not quite at the stage yet where we could confidently go out and buy something for each other and know they’ll love it. This will no doubt be a convo for another day lol. This relationship is literally less than a week old. I’ve no idea where it’s going but I’m not gonna think about it much, just gonna enjoy the now of it instead of always trying to think ahead. I do that with everything else on life, so I feel like I’m just going to relax with this, at least during these first few months assuming it keeps going that long, which it seems like it might haha.

1. What is the strawberry thing with glaze that Brian likes that Mia makes?
2. How does The Princess Bride differ in a universe with soulmarks? Are Buttercup and Westley Marks? why does Buttercup think he's dead? Or is this a fantasy universe where Marks don't exist? (is this a weirdly popular fiction genre that some people obsess over and others just don't get - kind of like how soulmark AUs are to our universe?)
3. So I am assuming that gay marriage is not just legal - but like an absolute no-brainer. Kind of like asking someone 200 years ago if a man could marry a woman. They'd be like of course, who would even question it. Which makes those who are weird about homosexual marks even more fringe. Like what percent of Marks are heterosexual vs homosexual? Also I am assuming like IVF or surrogacy are widely used and accepted for homosexual couples to have children.

This is the baked strawberry thing. It's originally apples but you can sub around ingredients for a strawberry version. I've done both apple and strawberry and it's *delicious*
I had a lot of fun with this in the bookstore chapter! I think they definitely have different versions of a soulmate trope or even a no soulmate world trope just like we do in reverse. Brian reads the back of a book talking a world where your Mark is your soulmate's name and thinks about how he wouldn't like that, so I think that's definitely a thing that people write about. Dom also jokes at one point that Hollywood's two favorite stories are clumsy girl finds out she's soulmates with her boss or the "classic" two warriors thing. I'm sure there's a whole dystopian genre about no soulmate worlds, lol. For Princess Bride I bet there's some magical element where you have to say I love you to accept the bond before your Marks come in but Wesley always says As You Wish instead so it isn't until they've lost each other that they truly say it and "complete" the bond. Or something like that :)
I really wanted to write the series in a society where you get who you get and it could absolutely be someone the same gender as you and everyone grows up knowing that. I do acknowledge preferences, like Letty tends to swing to guys and Rome tends to swing to girls and Brian barely swings to anyone but has only had experiences with men, but I think overall bi/pan sexuality is a default. I'm sure there are cultures who don't like homosexuality BUT I'm also sure there are cultures where they don't like heterosexuality. I would say that if someone is being nasty homophobic it's not really because they hate "gay" people (keeping in mind that you're *supposed* to be open to who you get so there should theoretically not be a gay/straight divide the way it is in our world) but because they're saying shit to hurt you. Like Earl with demeaning Brian & Kelly re: sucking dick. It's not so much that he cared Brian was sucking dick in the gay sense but that he was doing something "less manly" by being on the giving end. Just because there's a bisexuality default doesn't mean that humanity doesn't come up with other shitty lines to divide on.
Re: Reproduction - you've stumbled onto another of the topics I purposefully do not set in stone within the universe (like the time period, for instance). If people want to think it's surrogacy/IVF/adoption then great, that's how it goes. If people want to think it's a universe that has male pregnancy and female/female reproduction then great, that's how it goes. I'm fine either way and Brian is 19 plus he's nowhere healed enough to even start discussing becoming a parent. Like, for me, that's not even a question they consider until Brian's like 30. I highly doubt I'll be writing him 11 years from now, lol, so I'm thinking I won't ever have to talk about it in story.

Dom's family is normal to Dom so he's not explaining them in his POV and Brian has a total inability to handle family conversations/keeping track of their names and connections so I haven't gotten to say that Tony had a lot of sisters and those sisters mostly have female Marks. So Dom's got like aunts squared, lol.
We name kids stuff like Christian here so I think Mark is fair game as a name.

Atsushi is a lot more open with his emotions compared to you, but this difference doesn’t cause problems. He’s very in tune with people's emotions, even if they don’t outwardly display them so he usually has some idea of how you’re feeling.

He’s a very expressive person but gets along with everyone, regardless of how open they are with emotion. Just look at him and Langa. Langa wasn’t the most openly emotional at the beginning of the series but that didn’t stop Reki from befriending him.
No need to worry about getting lost with Reki around. He’s skated all over town and knows every backstreet like the back of his hand.
Always on the lookout for things you can add to your collections. He’s got a sharp eye for those things and loves being able to give them to you so he can watch your reaction.

While you and Link share a lot of similarities, you also have quite a lot of differences. And it’s those differences that make your relationship work so well.
There’s no need to worry about your trust issues with Link around. He’s one of the easiest people to trust in Hyrule and for good reason to. This guy will do everything in his power to make sure you never feel betrayed by him.
I see Link as someone who would enjoys shopping with you. He’s got a good eye for thinks you might like and an even better eye for discounts and sales. He’s also happy to carry any bags you have.
While he’s not super messy, I do see Link as someone who tends to just put things down wherever instead of back where they came from. This can sometimes lead to mess but he’s always happy to tidy things up if they get out of hand.
He knows you can be clumsy so he’s starting to develop a sixth sense to know when you’re likely to bump into or trip over something. He always has bandages and healing potions on hand just to be sure.

My thoughts on a peer's sobriety
“I don’t know why you need to shit on everything I like, maybe you just do it because you're insecure. When everything you like is the stupidest shit.”
This isn’t an exact quote. I’m paraphrasing here, of course.
With the way my brain is organized I struggle to find the exact words or exact phrases someone said to me with any kind of accuracy. But I still understand what they meant. At least, I think I do.
That is to say, when I heard these words, and reflected on what I had said to prompt them, my immediate reaction was one of trepidation and resignation.
I needed to think, to ponder, as I always do when I am told something like this.
I know I can be overly critical, indeed I can be a harsher critic than even I could personally handle. This is probably something that I need to work on, especially if I am to be the kind of person I aspire to be. A person of kindness and compassion.
I had been asked to read a passage of prose written by someone who had recently given up alcohol for one year. The person in question was a dear friend to my partner, who had been the one to show me the post and she asked me my genuine thoughts on it. Of course, being so literal minded I pored over the text and immediately shared my thoughts.
It was a good message, one of personal vindication and self improvement, however one that I found to be self indulgent and quite honestly shallow, especially for the flowery language and judgemental tone. My thoughts were too nuanced to state in person and came across as crass and rude. So here I try to elucidate them.
Here is a man who has found the health benefits of abstinence and was excited to write about them in a self congratulatory way. Read in a certain way you could say he was looking down upon the plebian caste, demonizing the dark spirit of Al Ghul. Without further examination of the effects and reasons for a widespread substance problem within the general populace. Bereft of explanation or reference to the sociological and political influences that have caused such a dependance on depressant addiction within society. Ironically enough the text even makes mention of the traditional and homemade spirits found with steppe society (of which he even partook in the consumption of during this year of sobriety), which have major cultural roles for peoples within what I consider my home region of the world.
Deriding obese individuals in their middle age for having beer guts and blaming men for drinking alcohol to escape consequences of enacting sexual assault, I cant help but conjure a strange feeling that this is a man who believes that he is above the vice of alcohol and above the actions of fellow human beings. A message is being alluded to, that those who partake in drinking are doing so in a way that lessens themselves.
I feel it is a little bit misguided, even if it is honest and sincere, even if this malice I am projecting is but a reflection of his own relationship with alcohol or even my relationship with the thoughts of others.
With that being said; there is no harm in the exercise of writing these words.
As even the author prefaces the text with a note. He states, in quite a self aware way, that this writing was for himself, that if someone else can find enjoyment out of it then that is only an added bonus. Something within the words resonated with me deeply.
What I saw as a clumsy mess of unfocused intent and flowery prose was nonetheless inspiring.
By the way he so readily understood what he was writing for and how the language he used, in its meandering and ponderous tone, was primarily an exercise in personal satisfaction.
Projectile vomited onto a page were numerous scenarios, memories of happiness, all with the throughline about how they were framed by sobriety. Unlike an exercise in satisfying the needs of a client or the sensibilities of an audience. The experience of creating something so personal, of reflecting oneself onto the page, must have carried an ambrosial quality.
I was inspired in such a way that I seek to replicate it here, for my own satisfaction.
Perhaps to create something meaningful is to create something that inevitably becomes problematic, in some shape or form. The only solution is to create nothing at all.
And that is not a solution I can live with.
I’m sure kindred spirits feel the same, and all throughout reading this passage I felt a deep connection with who the author was as a person, divorced from the ways I saw him before.

These things can be aligned but they can also be beautifully distinct from one another in such an impactful way. I walk away from the words that I read with a renewed interest in the role of art and how it shapes the world and is shaped by it. Like a portrait can be a mirror it can also reflect what we see in ourselves and others. In this way I want to thank the author, but I know I wouldn't be able to with the words coming out of my mouth, nor do I think I even should try to.
