Tumblr media
Kiri was sprawled out on her stomach in a shallow area of the beach, her face entirely submerged in the crisp, clear water. Intently, she observed a tiny hole dug into the sand, a hub of activity for little critters periodically scurrying in and out.
Meanwhile, you sat beside her, equally entranced by the little wonder of nature the two of you had chanced upon during your mid-afternoon beach excursion.
Just as you lifted your head out of the water to catch your breath and stretch your neck, you felt vibrations from approaching footsteps and hushed voices carried by the sea breeze. Recognizing the voices, you quickly realized that it was Aonung and his band of goons lurking by the shore.
One of the guys pointed a webbed finger at you and Kiri, making it blatantly obvious that you two were the center of their group's conversation.
With a sly smirk and an obnoxiously loud voice, the boy asked his friends, "What are they doing?"
A chorus of laughter erupted among the group, immediately setting off alarms in your mind. You staunchly stood by Kiri, prepared to defend your friend against any potential ridicule or harm.
Meanwhile, Kiri remained blissfully unaware of all that was transpiring above water. Her head still submerged beneath gentle waves, she continued to marvel at the underwater world without a clue about the brewing laughter above.
Aonung scratched his head in mock confusion before turning to his friends and sarcastically asking, "Is she some kind of…freak?"
This wisecrack immediately set you on edge.
You gently shook Kiri's shoulder, calling out her name in a bid to get her attention but not startle her. Dazed and still somewhat out of the loop, Kiri lifted her head out of the water. Blinking the sea from her eyes, she groggily replied, "Huh? What did you say?"
The guys around you couldn't contain their childish amusement, snickering as they watched the scenario unfold.
Kiri's puzzled gaze finally fell upon the boisterous crowd surrounding them. "Oh." She replied, her entire demeanor deflating.
One of the guys chimed in condescendingly as if addressing a toddler trying to understand a grown-up conversation. "He asked if you were a freak," he smirked.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes in disdain, doing your best to suppress the growing urge to smack that smug grin off the little cretin's face. He looked like he belonged in a cage.
"Kiri, let's get out of here. These fish fuckers actually think that they're funny." You threw a venomous glare at the boys, allowing your piercing stare to linger just a fraction longer on Aonung–the one you least expected this behavior from.
As the son of the Metkayina chief, you assumed he would be different, a sharper contrast to his counterparts. You couldn't help comparing Aonung unfavorably to Neteyam, whose father was the late Omatikayan chief.
Neteyam carried himself with poise and grace far removed from Aonung's immature antics. Further adding salt to Aonung's proverbial wound was how unlike his little sister Tsireya he seemed to be. Although she was young, Tsireya radiated kindness and welcomed you and the Sully kids with open arms from the first day you arrived.
Aonung shot you a smug, sly smirk, allowing his eyes to flit up and down your figure, causing an uneasy sensation to skitter across your skin like an unwanted insect.
With sudden haste, fueled by the desire to escape, your hand shot out and latched onto Kiri's arm–maybe gripping with a bit too much force–as you seized the opportunity to depart from the presence of the immature boys.
Dragging Kiri out of the water with determination, you guided her toward the safety and solitude of the shoreline. To your dismay, though, the boys were not so easily deterred.
They pursued you and Kiri with dogged persistence; their snickers echoed through the air like a pack of viperwolves as they threw snide remarks targeted at your departing backs, whispering just loud enough for you and Kiri to overhear.
"Look at their tails,"
"Aww, baby tail!"
You gritted your teeth, willing yourself to maintain control despite your growing anger. You had hoped that your unspoken plea for serenity would be granted—that you could slip away unnoticed and go about your day. But clearly, Eywa had other plans.
Your breaking point presented itself when Aonung couldn't resist taking his antics a step further, reaching out and brazenly yanking Kiri's tail—probably thinking he was the height of hilarity.
That was the final straw for you; any iota of self-control you'd managed to cling to all this while suddenly snapped like a fragile twig underfoot.
You swiftly tucked Kiri protectively behind your body, baring your fangs with ferocious intensity at Aonung. With a menacing hiss, you attempted to warn him off.
However, Aonung was unfazed by your display; instead, he only widened his smirk and put his hands up theatrically in a gesture of mock surrender. Chuckling derisively, his eyes darted toward his friends for approval.
His cronies wasted no time in offering their reaction, joining in on the laugh track and seemingly growing bolder by the second as they encircled you and Kiri with an unnerving persistence.
"Why so strung up, y/n? I know you're a forest girl and all, but there's no need to go full tribal warrior on us. You're not a freak like Kiri," Aonung teased as he approached you while confidently throwing aside any semblance of personal space or respect.
He reached out and boldly clasped one of your hands as if you were old friends catching up over lunch. Looming over your figure like an unwelcome raincloud, Aonung brandished your hand in front of everyone, showing off the distinct three fingers that set you apart from your friends Kiri and Lo'ak, both of whom inherited their father's four fingers.
"I gotta say," he said while flashing an exaggerated grin at you, "I really don't mind these little hands at all."
With each word, Aonung's grin grew further on his face, as if daring anyone to challenge him.
As he continued to violate your personal space and dignity, you could feel the bubbling cauldron of rage within you reaching its tipping point.
Aonung just stood there on the shore with an infuriating, cocky smirk plastered on his face. His eyes seemed to dig into you as if attempting to burrow inside your head. There was something spectral about his gaze, something that roused an uncontrollable rage within you.
In a quickly unfolding series of events, you yanked your hand away from Aonung's iron grip.
Your blood was boiling at that point, and you immediately raised your fists in a fighter's stance that you learned from Jake, barely containing the volcanic fury surging through your veins.
With admittedly impressive speed and precision, you unleashed a brutal punch that connected with Aonung's cheekbone.
Caught off guard, he stumbled back, visibly dazed from the sudden, forceful attack.
However, you weren't anywhere close to being done with him. The torrential outburst had clouded your perception of time; the seconds stretched and warped until you found yourself throwing not one but two more punches straight into Aonung's disoriented face.
Finally succumbing to the unanticipated onslaught, Aonung faltered under the weight of it all, stumbling and falling on his dumb blue ass with an unceremonious thud.
He looked utterly ridiculous, sprawled across the beach like a fish out of water, his eyes wider than saucers and his mouth agape in sheer bewilderment.
You were so caught up in your victory and the satisfying adrenaline rush that you didn't even register Kiri's voice from behind you, urgently shouting, "Come on, that's enough!"
You had somehow slipped into your own world, built upon cathartic violence, utterly oblivious to the outside stimuli.
Further down the shoreline, the figures of Lo'ak and Neteyam were barely visible as they sprinted toward the scene of the skirmish. But once again, you remained unaffected by their presence and continued to stand your ground, reveling in your well-deserved triumph over Aonung and his ugly arrogance.
With fury still surging through your body, you leaped onto Aonung, who remained rooted to the spot and utterly petrified by the suddenness of your attack.
In one swift motion, you seized hold of his queue with a forceful grip, the fingers of your other hand coiling into a fist as you readied yourself to pummel him once more. A sense of sadistic humor coursed through your veins as you imagined the damage you could inflict.
However, just as your fist was about to make contact, you felt a strong set of hands grabbing onto your arms.
With surprising ease, you were lifted up and away from Aonung's body, leaving you momentarily disoriented.
As your vision cleared, you came to the realization that it was none other than Neteyam who had thwarted your assault and, with his characteristic swiftness, managed to usher you back onto your feet.
However, as far as you were concerned, the fight was not over; if anything, being interrupted had only stoked the flames of your anger toward that insufferable little skxawng even further.
You struggled in Neteyam's unyielding grasp, unleashing a fierce snarl as you reached out helplessly toward Aonung again.
"Just ten more seconds," you thought to yourself.
That's how little time it would take for you to mete out the sweet vengeance you so desperately craved.
Amidst this struggle, a trickle of laughter began bubbling up within you. You couldn't quite pinpoint if it was due to the absurdity of the entire situation, suddenly bordering on comedic, or simply because you knew what would happen if you managed to break free from Neteyam's hold.
But alas, Neteyam showed little inclination to release his irritated captive as he attempted to prevent an all-out brawl.
"Mawey, y/n. Mawey," Neteyam pleaded softly in your ear, altering his grip from your flailing arms to around your waist, essentially hoisting you off your feet and dragging you away from the bruised and battered boy that you remained intent on hurting.
"I will kill him," you hissed menacingly.
Neteyam's grip instantly tightened–he seemed determined to restrain you and prevent any further chaos.
In a low, soothing voice into your ear, he retorted, "No, you won't."
Under normal circumstances, if you had not been quite so consumed by seething rage, you might've noticed the flutters of excitement in the pit of your stomach as Neteyam's velvety voice caressed your ear, sending the heat of his breath tingling down your neck. Alas, you were consumed by unbridled fury.
Meanwhile, back at the center of the conflict, Lo'ak was engaged in a heated exchange with one of Aonung's friends. With an aggressive shove to the chest, Lo'ak sent the kid stumbling backward.
Naturally, this act of provocation led to a retaliatory shove from the offending boy. The tension in the air thickened as another fight seemed imminent.
However, as though summoned by divine intervention (or just sheer nosiness), Jake and Tonowari burst onto the scene from where they had been residing further down the shore. They hastily made their way over to the contentious group–eager to discover what upheaval you all had gotten up to.
You muttered a curse under your breath, knowing that you really stepped in it this time.
Jake had explicitly instructed you and his children to steer clear of trouble, particularly any sort of mischief that might land them all in hot water.
Yet there you were, having done the complete opposite—you'd gone and beat the living daylight out of the chief's son.
Neteyam, well aware of your obvious distress, gently squeezed your waist in a reassuring manner. He looked at you with an air of confidence that somehow assured you everything would be okay. "I'll take care of it," he boldly declared.
As he finally released his reassuring grip on your middle, you couldn't deny how much you immediately missed the warmth and comfort it provided. The sudden void left by the absence of contact struck you like a bucket of cold water on a chilly morning. Shaking your head, you attempted to dismiss those inconvenient thoughts from your mind.
"No," you began with a sigh, exasperation creeping into your tone. "You didn't even do anything."
It was practically Neteyam's full-time job–swooping in like a hero to rescue anyone and everyone, whether it was his brother or his sisters or yourself.
It was as if he just couldn't help himself; he had to take the bullet every single time (yikes). It was both endearing and frustrating in equal measure.
His behavior had to stem from some kind of savior complex—you swore you could see through it all.
You knew the reason behind his rescue missions was simply the immense pressure his father put on him. Being the eldest child in the family, Neteyam bore the weight of his father's expectations on his shoulders every single day.
"It doesn't matter," Neteyam murmured dismissively, cutting off any further attempts at discussion. He slipped in front of you and made his way toward the unfolding scene with determination written all over his face.
Left behind, standing helplessly amidst dust motes that swirled where he once stood mere seconds ago, and your words still trapped halfway up your throat, you couldn't do anything but blink at his retreating back.
Tumblr media
Upon returning to the Sully family's marui pod, you, Neteyam, and Lo'ak stood apprehensively as Jake began to furiously pace in front of you.
Lo'ak was clearly pissed off. He clutched his arm with a vice-like grip, attempting to appear wounded.
You nearly rolled your eyes at the sight. With a grin threatening to break across your face, you had to avert your gaze from the boy to avoid making an untimely scene.
You knew that he wasn't injured in the slightest. One of Aonung's friends had barely shoved him moments earlier.
You suspected he was just putting on a show to earn some sympathy from his father and possibly receive a lighter scolding.
In all honesty, Jake shouldn't have had to yell at anyone but you. If Jake were to hold anyone accountable for the recent chaos, it should have been you. After all, you were the one who threw the first punch, dishing out a humble thrashing to Aonung that would undoubtedly give him pause before stirring up trouble again.
Jake continued his relentless pacing back and forth like a caged animal. It was making you dizzy.
The atmosphere in the marui pod was thick with tension as each step echoed ominously throughout the room. Finally, Jake could contain his frustration no longer.
"What was the one thing I asked? The one thing?!" He stopped abruptly and turned to face the trio of teenagers, awaiting a response like a teacher expecting students to provide an answer to their query.
"Stay out of trouble," Lo'ak muttered with an air of resignation. He barely managed to finish uttering those words before Jake was upon you all again with all the vigor and authority of a seasoned marine.
"Stay out of trouble," he repeated mockingly. "Right."
Amidst the palpable tension in the room, Neteyam bravely took a step forward with his hands raised, eager to defuse the situation like the textbook definition of the golden child that he was.
Clearing his throat, he began, "It was my fault—" But Jake was unyielding. He was not having any of that bullshit.
Infuriated by the mere thought of Neteyam trying to shoulder the blame when it clearly wasn't his mess to carry, Jake cut him off with a fiery glare.
"Oh, I don't think so," Jake chided, pointing a finger at Neteyam.
The sudden shift in energy made Neteyam visibly gulp. He sucked in his cheeks and averted his gaze, quickly realizing that retreat was his best course of action.
"You gotta stop taking the heat for these knuckleheads!" Jake continued. With that said, he pointed his accusatory finger at you and Lo'ak.
Lo'ak's eyebrows shot up and furrowed, causing deep creases between them, as his mouth hung open in disbelief at being pigeonholed as the troublemaker.
He was fully aware that he hadn't been the one behind the afternoon's events–not this time around anyway, as surprising as it may have seemed.
You, too, were fully aware that Lo'ak didn't instigate the fight. You weren't about to let him take the heat for your own misbehavior.
You quickly extended a protective hand in front of Lo'ak, meeting his eye before turning back to face Jake.
"No, Lo'ak had nothing to do with this. It was my fault, seriously. I started it." You admitted.
Jake's eyes shut tight upon hearing your confession, and he expelled an exasperated sigh, heavy with frustration. Deep down, you knew that you were about to get it.
"y/n," he began, finally opening his eyes and turning his full attention towards you with an air of bewilderment. "You got some good hits in, I'll give you that," He paused momentarily before continuing with a mixture of astonishment and disappointment in his voice, "But the chief's son? Do you have any idea what Tonowari could've done to us? What the hell were you thinking, kid?"
You visibly winced as Jake's words hit you like a ton of bricks. He definitely had a valid point there.
The truth was that you hadn't been thinking—not one bit.
All you could recall was Aonung taunting Kiri without an ounce of remorse and then getting all up in your personal space like he had the right to. That was enough for you to see nothing but red.
In that heated moment, the thought of potential consequences flew right over your head. It was as though any semblance of logic had temporarily eluded you.
As you mentally retraced the earlier events that had unfolded before your eyes, you finally dwelled on the severity of the situation.
You didn't consider how your reckless actions could have jeopardized not only your own safety but also that of the Sullys, potentially resulting in their sudden eviction from their newfound home—a home they had fought so hard to earn a place in.
The full gravity of your reckless act hung heavily on your shoulders, like an enormous boulder strapped to your back.
"I'm really sorry, sir," you uttered with undeniable sincerity in your tone.
You tried to maintain eye contact with Jake, but the guilt in your stomach compelled you to anxiously dart your gaze away. The overwhelming shame gnawed at your conscience relentlessly.
Jake, sensing your unease, heaved a heavy sigh once again.
It wasn't lost on you that Jake was treating you far more gently than he would have treated either of his own sons had they been in this situation. This realization only doubled the weight on your shoulders.
At that moment, you felt like an unwanted appendix to their family unit—a burden they never should have taken in.
They didn't have to offer you a place in their home after your parents' deaths, nor did they have to take you with them while they sought uturu with the Metkayina. And yet, they did. And how did you repay their boundless generosity? With this…shitshow.
You found yourself longing for Jake's anger and reprimand instead of the current watered-down scolding he was dishing you. But Jake, obstinately persistent as ever, didn't indulge your desire for absolution through shouting.
As if trying to reach out into your thoughts, he leaned down in an attempt to align his gaze with your line of vision. His hope was to establish eye contact and facilitate a genuine conversation.
His attempts proved futile, though, as he failed to catch your darting eyes. Jake's face scrunched with genuine concern.
Delving further into the matter at hand, he gently inquired, "Why'd you hit him, y/n? Did he do something to you?" His brows knitted into a look of utmost concern, clearly desperate for an explanation that could offer a semblance of understanding as to why you went crazy on the chief's son.
The mere thought of the incident was enough to make your blood surge with fury again.
It occurred to you that you hadn't actually filled Neteyam or Lo'ak in on the details of what had transpired before your little scuffle. The three of you had been too busy being unceremoniously dragged back to the marui pod with your tails between your legs.
With clenched fists, you looked down to see your knuckles–red and battered–for the first time since the confrontation.
The visualized memory of your punches landing on Aonung's face brought you a mix of satisfaction and disgust.
"Aonung wouldn't leave Kiri alone," you spat out, a hint of bitter resentment in your tone. "He kept picking on her and called her a freak."
A brief pause allowed another wave of anger to wash over you.
"And then he started being all gross towards me," you continued. "He grabbed my hand, and I just…reflexed... I guess."
Despite the gravity of the situation, Lo'ak snickered at your choice of words, clearly amused by how casually you downplayed the severity with which you'd beat the actual shit out of Aonung.
Lo'ak's joy was short-lived due to the sudden and simultaneous glare from both Jake and Neteyam that pierced straight through his amusement like a sharp spear.
Jake slowly directed his attention back towards you, lowering his tall frame to match your height.
It was a comical sight as he contorted himself into a near-squatting pose. You hesitantly lifted your eyes to meet Jake's, and to your surprise, you found a warm, gentle smile gracing his stern features.
His eyes held pools of gratitude as he gently placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder, providing a solid anchor to steady your quivering soul.
"Thank you," Jake said softly, his voice laced with sincere gratitude.
You stared at him in confusion.
Why the hell was Jake thanking you when you almost got them all booted off the island like unwanted baggage?
Searching for an explanation, you let out an involuntary, bewildered "huh?" that accurately represented your current state of mind.
The sheer candidness of your reaction brought forth a chuckle that Jake tried hard to suppress. He seemed bemused by your baffled demeanor and swiftly decided to put an end to the suspense.
"For standing up for my daughter," Jake explained, his eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief. "And for putting that little rascal in his rightful place," he added with a smug expression.
Listening to Jake's heartfelt acknowledgment warmed your soul.
Your lips parted as they inched from ear to ear in sync with Jake's own radiant grin, happy that you had stood up for what mattered when it counted the most.
As his words washed over you like a soothing balm, an immaterial weight had seemingly lifted from your chest–one that you hadn't even known had been weighing down on you so heavily until that very moment.
Jake stretched to his full height, puffing out his chest as he authoritatively placed his hands on his hips. He fixed his gaze on his two sons, who exchanged wary glances with each other.
He took a deep breath before delivering his unexpected command.
"Go make peace with Aonung," he said to his boys, nodding firmly as if trying to convince himself of the wisdom of his decision.
Lo'ak's jaw dropped. "What?" he blurted out, his head lurching forward in disbelief.
Jake scowled at Lo'ak's unrestrained backtalk.
You shifted uncomfortably beside Lo'ak, feeling an inexplicable sense of camaraderie. Why should they go make peace with the enemy?
Exasperation danced across Jake's face as he ran a weary hand over it, trying to collect himself for the explanation that was unnecessarily demanded.
"Listen," he began, sounding more than a bit frustrated. "I don't care how you do it. Just go make sure y/n doesn't have to beat up any more of those guys."
Jake did a terrible job of disguising the wide grin that threatened to split his face in half as he glanced back toward you.
You could already tell that you would never live this down.
Neteyam, with a determined expression on his face, nodded firmly at his father's request. "Yes, sir," he replied dutifully.
Lo'ak, however, couldn't have been more displeased, and his disapproval was all too apparent. Neteyam took hold of Lo'ak's arm and practically had to drag him out of the pod.
Jake watched his eldest son in approval, grateful that at least one of his boys was on the same wavelength as him.
With a look of satisfaction, he turned back to you and jerked his head in the direction his two sons had disappeared. "You should go find Kiri," he suggested. "She's by the shore with Neytiri."
You nodded obediently and spun around to exit the pod yourself. But before you managed to get very far, Jake called out to you with a severity that betrayed how truly important he saw your errand.
His facial expression shifted into solemn seriousness. "I mean it, y/n," he insisted. "I appreciate you standing up for my baby girl."
A sad smile played across Jake's features as he added, "She's… she hasn't been having the easiest time adjusting to our new life here."
That fact was not lost on you.
You'd spent countless hours listening attentively to Kiri's impassioned rants about how much she despised their new reef home–a place that just made her feel even more alienated than she did back in the forest.
"Of course," you replied hesitantly, not entirely sure of what else to say in the situation.
It was obvious to anyone who knew you well that you'd risk your life for Kiri's sake in a heartbeat. After all, the minor danger you faced today was absolutely insignificant compared to what you'd do for your friend.
Jake's smile never wavered. He playfully ruffled your hair as if you were a little kid needing reassurance, causing you to let out an exasperated groan. He was such a dad.
"Alright, get outta here," Jake ordered as laughter danced within his voice, his demeanor that of a caring father.
You didn't need to be told twice. You hastily exited the pod while simultaneously trying your best to tame your tousled hair, which now resembled a bird's nest caught in a storm.
Immediately after stepping outside the pod, you noticed Neteyam and Lo'ak still lingering nearby, definitely not 'making peace' with Aonung.
Lo'ak was leaning against the marui pod, wearing an expression that screamed boredom, while Neteyam appeared quite preoccupied.
He practically had the entire side of his head glued to the pod as he clearly tried to eavesdrop on your conversation with Jake.
With a shake of your head, you faced the brothers directly, amusement twinkling in your eyes.
You cleared your throat and shot a sort of 'what the hell?' look at Neteyam, who was quick to whip his head toward you. He backed away from the pod, feigning ignorance.
You narrowed your eyes at him, demanding an explanation with a simple "Um?"
As if on cue, Lo'ak decided that this would be the perfect time to point out the painfully obvious.
"He was trying to listen in on your conversation," he declared as if the revelation would be of immense assistance.
The unwelcome input earned him a fierce glare from Neteyam, who was not at all pleased with his brother's willingness to rat him out.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes in exasperation as you regarded the two siblings.
"No shit, Lo'ak." you retorted bitingly, your voice dripping with sarcasm. "But why?" This time, your probing inquiry was directed squarely at Neteyam as you sought to get to the bottom of his mysterious behavior.
Despite his earlier nonchalance, Neteyam hesitantly stepped forward with newfound concern etched into his expression.
"You said that Aonung grabbed your hand?" He inquired, his eyes a concoction of fury and worry.
You stared at Neteyam because, yes, you had said that already, and he clearly heard you.
"Yes," you replied, your voice flat and unamused.
Neteyam narrowed his eyes and cautiously stepped closer, tilting his head down to lock gazes with you before forging ahead. "And you said he was being gross? Like… he was trying to come onto you?"
The mere memory of Aonung's behavior sent shivers down your spine.
It wasn't the first time that you had been on the receiving end of Aonung's unwelcome advances since arriving on the island, but you could cope with that. The real issue arose when Aonung decided to mess with someone dear to you—someone like Kiri.
A new wave of hatred washed over you at the memory of your encounter.
Despite the brewing storm within your soul, you attempted to shake off Neteyam's concern. You really didn't want to keep thinking about Aonung's sorry fish ass.
"Yes, Neteyam, that's what I said. But it's not a big deal. I was more concerned about Kiri. And I'm actually supposed to be checking on her right now, so…" You widened your eyes, shooting Neteyam a somewhat comical, unimpressed look before attempting to step around him and head off towards the shoreline.
Just as you were about to make your way past him, you felt a hand on your arm, halting your escape. You followed the blue-striped appendage upwards, your eyes finally meeting Neteyam's sheepish expression.
He appeared mortified by his own actions and quickly released his grip on your arm as though he had just touched a burning hot flame.
"S-Sorry," he stammered awkwardly. "I shouldn't have grabbed you like that after… he… agh!… Sorry."
He was quick to apologize, wincing at his misstep, and the regret in his voice was palpable. He stumbled over his words like someone trudging through the densest of forests.
You rolled your eyes at Neteyam's sudden hesitance to lay a finger on you—he was never weary about touching you.
It was evident that he was attempting to be considerate after you had just given Aonung a thorough beating for having the audacity to grab your hand. Nonetheless, in your perspective, there was a world of difference between Aonung's intrusive touch and Neteyam's gentle one.
Feeling the need to clarify the situation, you addressed Neteyam and reassured him with a lighthearted tone, "You're allowed to touch me, 'Teyam."
Observing his reaction, you grinned at the burst of relief that spread across his face. He let out a hasty exhale that almost sounded like a muted sigh, lively nodding along to your comforting words.
Beside him, Lo'ak, who had still been casually leaning against the side of the hut, let out a snort that echoed through the air.
"Gross," he scoffed with an exaggerated grimace on his face.
Pushing off the hut, he strode towards Neteyam, the mischievous glint in his eyes combined with his devilish grin betraying his intentions.
"You're allowed to touch me whenever you want, 'Teyam," Lo'ak teased in a ridiculous falsetto as he approached Neteyam from behind.
With an exaggerated flair, he reached out and squeezed his brother's arms in a sarcastic display of affection. His lips formed an overly dramatic pout as he pushed them in Neteyam's direction.
The moment barely lasted before Lo'ak folded over in a fit of laughter, clearly amused by his own antics. His cheeky grin spread from ear to ear as he struggled to catch his breath between guffaws.
Neteyam was not as amused.
With narrowed eyes and a sour expression, he tried not to relent to Lo'ak's antics. His patience wore thin until he finally let out an irritated hiss directly at Lo'ak, who was still bent over laughing.
In an attempt to regain some dignity and escape Lo'ak's relentless teasing, Neteyam shoved him away, sending him stumbling several feet back in the process.
As Neteyam struggled to compose himself after being put on display for your amusement due to the constant tormenting of his mischief mongerer of a brother, a deep shade of purple bloomed across his cheeks–evidence of his mixed feelings of embarrassment and annoyance.
It was obvious that he was trying hard not to lose his composure over the incident.
To avoid any further humiliation from the spectacle, Neteyam shook his head and directed his gaze away from you–seeking solace in staring intently at anything else but you.
A blush crept up your face, the hue coordinating with Neteyam's purpling cheeks.
You did not sound like that.
Desperate to distract yourself from the situation, you decided to change your focus to the little jokester, who was still laughing at his brother. You feigned an abrupt lunge toward him.
Lo'ak, completely caught off guard, flinched embarrassingly hard and muttered a terrified 'shit' under his breath.
You shook your head at his overreaction, pushing past the suddenly skittish Lo'ak, who swiftly hid behind his brother in fear.
Ignoring the commotion behind you, you focused on moving toward the shore to find Kiri.
As you made your way towards the water's edge, you called over your shoulder with a cunning grin, "Let me know if Aonung has one, or two black eyes." You teased with a smirk playing at your lips, the playful taunt drifting off into the air as you walked away.
Lo'ak shook his head incredulously at your retreating figure before turning back to Neteyam, who was still sporting a deep blush from ear to ear.
Lo'ak just couldn't help himself.
"Bro. Your girlfriend is scary as fuck." Lo'ak said with a shudder, nudging Neteyam in the ribs as if to underscore his point. Despite the teasing tone, there was a hint of genuine fright in his voice.
Neteyam started to form a reply, "She's not—," but he caught himself, letting out an exasperated groan instead.
Thoroughly annoyed by his brother's relentless poking into his… whatever it was he had with you, he decided it was time for a little distance. With a quick shove to get Lo'ak off him, Neteyam moved away with purpose, intent on finding Aonung and getting the whole thing over with.
Naturally, Lo'ak was not one to accept defeat so easily. Hastily regaining his balance, he broke into a light jog and quickly caught up to Neteyam's side.
The playful smirk on Lo'ak's face betrayed the fact that he wasn't quite ready to let the situation go.
"She's not what?" Lo'ak inquired, feigning innocence but definitely not done being a little shit. "Not your girlfriend, or not scary? 'Cause I'm pretty sure she's at least one of those."
The corners of Neteyam's mouth threatened to betray a grin at the absurdity of the conversation.
Instead of acknowledgment, though, he fixed a determined glare at Lo'ak, hoping that if he couldn't escape through physical distance, maybe stony silence would do the trick.
Despite his seemingly relaxed demeanor, Neteyam found himself battling an internal storm as he recalled the day's events.
Before his awkward fumble with you, he had been trying to decipher what had transpired between you and Aonung on the beach. He wanted to know what could have provoked you enough to attack Aonung the way you did.
As you recounted the events to him earlier, you confessed that Aonung had invaded your personal space, said gross things to you, and even gone as far as grabbing your hand unprovoked.
The mere thought of that skxawng purposefully making you uncomfortable boiled Neteyam's blood. He felt the rage surge within him.
On the outside looking in, it was plain as day that you and Neteyam shared a close bond–you were best friends through and through.
And yet, that knowledge did little to quell the overpowering sense of possessiveness that engulfed Neteyam at the thought of another guy trying to woo you.
Undoubtedly, you were remarkably beautiful; anyone with eyes could see that.
Neteyam was allowed to think of his best friend as beautiful.
It was more than just your physical allure, though. You were so passionate about everything you held dear. Your closest friends, the group of orphaned children that you looked after back in the forest–you cared for them all with burning intensity.
Your dedication to your warrior training was unmatched, even by Neteyam himself. You strived fiercely to master every skill and overcome each challenge in your path. Even your penchant for engaging in spirited conversations about the most random, mundane day-to-day things–you were an enigma that never ceased to captivate.
Coupled with a genuinely warm heart and a razor-sharp wit, you instantaneously charmed anyone in your presence. Your fiery temperament often erupted when things heated up, making it clear that you were never one to back down from a challenge–an attribute Neteyam secretly cherished.
If anything, you seemed too cool for someone like him. And yet, he couldn't help but find himself utterly enamored with every aspect of your character.
There wasn't a thing that he disliked about you.
However, all those emotions were normal because you and he were friends. It was only natural for him to appreciate the characteristics that made you who you were.
And, of course, others admired those same traits in you too, which was exactly why you had such a large circle of friends. Even other guy-friends.
Like his brother, for example.
It was okay that Neteyam felt a little more than just a twinge of jealousy when he’d notice Lo'ak being extra touchy with you. When he'd grab your wrist and go all mushy trying to convince you to re-braid his hair or re-shave the side of his head, knowing that you'd be gentler while doing so than Neytiri typically was.
Or when Lo'ak would virtually throw himself on top of you, insisting on sharing a hammock just because you managed to snatch the last vacant one.
And you would give in to him every single time, despite your feigned annoyance, because you were just that kind of person.
Though Neteyam gritted his teeth at you two in silent disapproval, he repeatedly convinced himself that it was entirely within the bounds of how two friends were allowed to act. You choosing to share a hammock with Lo'ak was just a good-natured deed from someone who looked out for the best interests of their friends. Nothing more than innocent camaraderie.
His blood boiled on another level when he heard that Aonung had laid a hand on you.
But surely, he thought, that feeling of burning rage encapsulating his heart was nothing more than the completely wholesome, totally platonic loyalty and devotion one naturally felt for their best friend.
That was what normal platonic friendships were all about, right?
With a sudden, fluid motion, Lo'ak interrupted Neteyam's mental meanderings by waving a hand in front of his face.
Lo'ak couldn't help but chuckle at the bizarre sight before him. It looked like Neteyam was trying to mentally communicate with an invisible force.
Addressing his brother with a bemused look, Lo'ak asked, "Bro, are you good? You looked like you were having a stroke or something."
Neteyam blinked a few times before the reality of the situation dawned on him.
In truth, Neteyam thought that no, he probably wasn't anywhere close to being okay. He was probably definitely teetering on the edge of an existential crisis centered around his best friend.
Due to the current turmoil raging in his mind, speech was an almost impossible feat for Neteyam to achieve; instead, a cascade of words just kind of tumbled out without any consultation from his overwhelmed brain.
"What do you…I mean, y/n? How do you see her?" stammered Neteyam, catching Lo'ak completely off guard.
Well, maybe not completely.
Lo'ak wasn't surprised to find that Neteyam was thinking about you. There was seemingly no waking moment where you weren't occupying some corner of his thoughts.
Despite this knowledge, it still struck Lo'ak as strange that Neteyam would suddenly ask him about you as if they regularly talked about stuff like girls together.
Lo'ak's eyebrow arched upward in an unmistakable display of confusion. "What do you mean, how do I see y/n?" He asked, genuinely baffled by the seemingly random question.
Neteyam, typically stoic and composed, responded with an unceremonious shrug.
It was an odd departure from his usual tall stance and confident posture–a constant reminder to all that he was the epitome of the perfect warrior son.
But this time, Neteyam couldn't quite meet Lo'ak's gaze directly. Instead of meeting Lo'ak with his usual steadfastness, Neteyam's eyes wandered down toward the ground between them as though the answer to his question was lying somewhere in the dusty sand.
Grumbling under his breath, Neteyam muttered, "I mean. Do you see her as a sister, or just a friend, or…. something more, I guess?" His words trailed off, uncertainty permeating every syllable.
Momentarily taken aback by the probing question, Lo'ak fell silent for a few seconds as he mulled over the implications of Neteyam's question.
Sure, Lo'ak thought you were cool–no dispute there–and you and he were definitely friends. Maybe not as tightly knit as you were with Neteyam or Kiri, but you and Lo'ak still shared a fair share of bonding moments.
You would often join Lo'ak and Spider on their daring expeditions into the heart of the forest–a pastime you all knew would've been strictly forbidden if Neteyam had ever found out.
There was no denying that Lo'ak definitely cared about you; maybe it wasn't the same affection one might have for a sister (he'd be lying to himself if he said that he didn't think y/n was attractive). Still, it wasn't exactly in the realm of romance either.
Lo'ak knew all too well that Neteyam would skin him alive if he even thought about liking you in that way.
The mental image of Neteyam's incensed reaction brought forth an involuntary snicker from Lo'ak.
Neteyam noticed his brother's amusement and responded with a furrowed brow, clearly unimpressed by whatever had caused Lo'ak to laugh. His expression was stern and moody, prompting Lo'ak to quickly alleviate any suspicions Neteyam might have formed.
"y/n is my friend. You already know that." He reassured his older brother, "She grew up with us."
Neteyam slowly nodded his head, not entirely convinced but willing to let the matter slide for now. However, his gaze seemed distant and preoccupied, as if there were thoughts weighing heavily on his mind.
His eyes glazed over ever so slightly as he retreated further into his own mind, leaving an eerie silence hanging between them.
After the silence stretched between them for a few tense seconds too long, it became apparent that Neteyam wouldn't divulge whatever was troubling him without some prodding on Lo'ak's part.
With an exaggerated sigh for dramatic effect and a hint of mischievous humor twinkling in his eyes, Lo'ak decided to press further.
"Alright then," he began nonchalantly, "since we're already on the subject… how do you see y/n?" He couldn't resist adding a teasing tone as he posed the question.
Upon hearing the question, Neteyam instantly stiffened, his head tilting downward in a reflexive motion that allowed his braids to form a protective curtain over his face.
That particular mannerism was all too familiar to Lo'ak, who had observed his brother resort to the same tactic countless times as a defensive response.
With a quick shrug, Neteyam muttered out a barely audible and very unconvincing, "I don't know."
Lo'ak narrowed his eyes at his brother's feeble attempt at nonchalance, not buying into the performance at all. He'd known for a while about the depth of Neteyam's feelings towards you–clearly way more than just friendly affection.
The truth grew glaringly obvious with each passing day; however, Lo'ak had been aware of the emotional connection for years.
"Yeah, that's bullshit," Lo'ak responded, shaking his head at his brother's clear dodge. "You wouldn't have asked me if you didn't know."
Neteyam released a frustrated sigh tinged with annoyance at how effortlessly his brother could read him.
Their mother often warned Neteyam that he wore his heart on his sleeve and couldn't mask his emotions if he tried. She knew this because Neteyam was like a carbon copy of herself. Those words had always frightened him—being exposed like that—but deep down, he knew she was right.
Neteyam had a conflicted look on his face as he hesitantly shared his thoughts with his brother.
"I think I see y/n differently," Neteyam confessed, his words shrouded in ambiguity.
Lo'ak, despite the vagueness of the statement, nodded slowly, urging his brother to elaborate.
Neteyam somehow found the courage to continue. "I probably think about her too much to say I see her as just a friend. Definitely not like a sister either," he added with a grimace, visibly repulsed by the thought as he shook his head.
Lo'ak laughed at Neteyam's reaction, provoking a playful, yet forceful shove from his brother.
Regaining his balance after the mild assault, Lo'ak clasped a hand onto Neteyam's shoulder with a lighthearted grin.
"You should really tell her, bro," he suggested earnestly.
Neteyam's eyes widened in alarm at the proposal, and he instinctively whirled his head in his brother's direction.
In doing so, his braids followed suit with their own whipping motion.
Lo'ak narrowly dodged the unexpected barrage of hair, squinting his eyes and leaning away just in time.
"Or not…" he mumbled, lowering his voice as he witnessed the sheer panic etched across Neteyam's face.
Neteyam shook his head vehemently, unable to understand how Lo'ak could actually propose such an insane idea.
"No way. Y/n doesn't think of me like that," he adamantly stated.
And really, how could you? The bond between you and Neteyam stretched back as far as either of you could remember—inseparable partners in mischief and life.
You grew up side by side, practically joined at the hip; you were a constant presence in his life. You'd seen each other through thick and thin, weathered all of life's storms together. You'd stood by him through every uneven haircut and awkward phase he went through, a true testament to your unwavering friendship.
He vividly remembered how when he was thirteen, you were the shoulder he leaned on after receiving a particularly harsh scolding from his father. You'd enfolded him in your arms, even as hot tears trailed down his cheeks and onto your hair. The sheer agony and embarrassment of it all seemed insurmountable at the time, but somehow your reassuring embrace made it bearable.
In recent times, you had borne witness to Neteyam's continual fumbles in your presence.
More often than not, they ended with him stumbling over his words around you, or being caught staring at you, or going all flustered when you'd make eye contact with him.
It was genuinely sad.
But above all else, Neteyam didn't even have the title of future olo'eyktan anymore since their move to the reef. Now he was just Neteyam.
Nothing more. Nothing special. With so many other potential suitors living on Pandora, all eager to win your favor and heart, why would you settle for him?
Lo'ak stared at his brother with a deadpan expression, evenly poised between amusement and annoyance. "I really can't tell if you're just trying to be humble or if you're actually that stupid," he said, his voice genuine.
He paused for a moment, taking in the affronted expression on Neteyam's face, before continuing. "I mean, come on! You're obviously in love with y/n, and y/n is obviously in love with you, so… what's the big issue here?"
Neteyam's eyes narrowed in disbelief as he prepared to assure Lo'ak that you were definitely not in love with him, but before he could get a word out of his dumbstruck mouth, the sound of rustling leaves and light footsteps interrupted their conversation.
Both brothers froze, ears perking up in attention as they caught the unmistakable chime of a familiar giggle.
Out from the protective confines of a low-hanging bunch of leaves came their little sister, a mischievous grin plastered on her tiny face.
"I knew it!" sang Tuk in a teasing melody as she skipped towards Neteyam and grasped his arm with a vice-like grip.
Jumping up and down with seemingly boundless energy, she reveled in her newly discovered knowledge.
Neteyam's heart dropped like a stone when he realized the situation he had gotten himself into. His little sister was about as adept at keeping secrets as he was. Which wasn't good at all. Which meant that Neteyam was screwed.
He frantically attempted to shake his head 'no,' engaging in a futile bid to persuade his already-convinced sister of his supposed indifference towards you.
Overwhelmed by desperation, Neteyam tried to stifle Tuk's excitement by shushing her vigorously. "No, no, no. It's not like that, Tuk," he pleaded.
Neteyam gently placed his hand on Tuk's head, trying to still her bounciness.
She reluctantly stopped bouncing but couldn't wipe the enormous grin off her face, as if she had just discovered the world's biggest secret.
"Lo'ak is right!" Tuk exclaimed with glee. "You need to tell y/n that you're in love with her! Then you both can become mated, just like mom and dad! And after that, you can have a whole bunch of little kids like they did with us! You can name one of them after me!"
Lo'ak, who was standing nearby, stifled a snort at how eagerly and confidently Tuk had outlined Neteyam's entire life trajectory in a matter of seconds. He smirked as he watched Neteyam's reaction to their sister's wild imagination.
In stark contrast to Tuk's excitement, Neteyam's face glowed in embarrassment, caught completely off guard by the talk about him mating and having kids with you.
Determined to regain control of the conversation, Neteyam firmly placed his other hand on Tuk's shoulder and bent down a little so that he could look directly into her eyes.
Addressing her in the most serious tone he could muster, he stated: "Tuk, listen closely—I never said I was in love with y/n."
However, Tuk was unfazed by his denial and abruptly interrupted him.
With all the assertiveness a tiny eight-year-old could muster, she poked her small finger firmly into Neteyam's chest. Her eyes gleaming with mischief and a cheeky smile plastered on her face, she said slowly and with complete certainty, "But you are in love with her."
Letting out a long, exasperated sigh, Neteyam found he lacked the energy to even dispute Tuk's assertion. He'd never been much of a convincing liar anyway.
Instead, he decided to go for a different tactic by gently placing both of his hands on her shoulders and adopting a serious expression.
"You are not going to tell anyone about any of what you think you heard."
He put particular emphasis on the word 'think,' giving his sister a significant nod as though that would somehow engrain the words into her stubborn little mind.
"And especially not y/n," he quickly added, feeling his heart beat just a little faster at the thought of you discovering the alleged secret in such an embarrassingly unfortunate way.
Tuk dramatically rolled her eyes, evidently disgruntled by the unfair reality that she'd be unable to freely broadcast each and every one of her thoughts to anyone within earshot.
Still, she begrudgingly muttered her acquiescence with an insincere "Fine."
Yet, it was clear that she was still unhappy with the deal when she pointedly avoided meeting Neteyam's gaze while uttering her reluctant agreement.
Neteyam refused to take any chances with his sister.
He recognized the profound influence he had on Tuk as a sort of second father figure, but this only seemed to take effect when he adopted a grave demeanor.
Looking into her eyes with an air of utmost sincerity, he raised a finger and pointed it to her chest. His voice took on a more commanding tone, though only marginally harsher.
"I mean it, Tuk. Do you swear?" he inquired, extending his smallest finger in their customary gesture signifying an unbreakable promise.
The ritual dated back to their childhood days and had been passed down by their father.
For siblings Neteyam and Tuk, it symbolized the sacred bond between them. Tuk knew all too well that once she linked fingers with her brother, backing down was out of the question.
Upon seeing Neteyam's extended digit, she furrowed her brow in consternation.
She couldn't shake the memory of her other brother's vivid warning: Lo'ak had once gravely warned her that hundreds of little bugs would crawl into her ears in her sleep if a pinky promise were ever broken.
Sighing with visible reluctance, she hooked her small finger around Neteyam's larger one and mumbled an almost inaudible "I swear."
Neteyam's face immediately broke into a beaming smile upon hearing those decisive words. Breathing a sigh of relief as if he'd just prevented an impending catastrophe, he affectionately patted his sister on the head before straightening up to his full height, standing tall like a proud winner.
Crisis averted, he thought, though his mind continually strayed back to thoughts of you.
Deep down, he knew that the situation he found himself in was anything but over.

Thought @onenicebugperday would appreciate this but so I had been working as a pest control technician for mosquitoes over last summer. Obvs that much time outdoors lets you come across a lot of critters, and I decided since i haven’t had that job anymore since November it’d be fun to put together a little highlight reel of the other bugs I came across on the clock.
First off we got an impressive katydid
Tumblr media
A quite photogenic snail
Tumblr media
My favorite local wasp species, a cicada killer
Tumblr media
A much more common and large red wasp
Tumblr media
Local hanging thief. Absolutely badass looking robber fly who somehow got into the office building
Another robber fly encounter, this one was busy having a snack on a red wasp it has caught
Tumblr media
BMSB that I would usually not like to see, but this one was literally in the middle of molting into the adult form and I loved how it looked like a forbidden peppermint
Tumblr media
What I am going to guess is a very handsome stag
Tumblr media
And of course, my actual target. Mosquitoes are certainly no uncommon sight but I managed to catch this one freshly emerged out of the pupa and that’s kinda neat
(Asian tiger to be specific, not native here but they sure be flourishing)

NEW WORLDBUILDING PROJECT BABYYY!!!
Concept: World covered entirely in microbial mat and whose macrofauna are pentapods. One of which is a sophont.
1. The world itself is a little smaller than Earth, but is also the third planet from it’s star and has two moons. It has a pretty even climate with no icecaps due to it’s very thick hothouse atmosphere, even despite it’s p crazy axial tilt. It’s atmosphere is similar to Earths but contains a lot more water vapor and methane and less nitrogen. The surface of the planet is covered almost entirely in microbial mat, to the point where actual ground is buried miles deep and the world would be entirely covered in ocean if not for the mats. The only ‘land’ comes from mounds of organic material built up from the sea floor that have grown large enough to finally breach the surface.  Names Planet: Backera  Bigger Moon: Milcer Smaller Moon: Daunverr Sun: Sentil
As for the macrobiology I’m still working it out but right now there are two basic groupings of terrestrial pentapods. Subject to very likely change.
First are the Eyebacks. Who are most known for uh, having eyes on their back. They also have their gills open on their neck and need to submerge time and again in water to breathe correctly.
2. That group includes this lil beastie, the Foxtrot, who lives up to their namesake being a crafty lil ankle biter. They are a fast lil critter who prowls the coast for small fast moving prey. They are also quite capable swimmers and swap between land and sea whenever they need to grab a snack or avoid becoming one.
3. Another Eyeback is the aquatic Mynar, who uses their big ass nose horn to scrape away at the mats and stir up fresh food. Generally they stay in water only a few feet deep, moving on to find the freshest growth. Their life style leaves them with a coating of their own though, stained by the food they stir up.
Second group are the now tripodial Elytra’s, who have badass lil beetle backs, and have lifted their front two limbs up to use for object manipulation. They are terrestrial but still rely on water for their tadpole larval stage.
4. This is called a Thwap, because they are very aggressive and use those first set of limbs for smacking anything that makes them even slightly uncomfortable. These are predators that focus on terrorizing smaller prey, loosely associating in groups of 3-10 individuals.
5. The SOPHONT!! I have no idea what to name these guys, so ideas are welcome! I just knew I wanted to give ‘em big ole eyes. They are a omnivorous people descended from hypercarnivorous ancestors. Their culture is centered around large families, usually a ‘wife’ and their many ‘husbands’, but the main thing to set them apart from the rest is the amount of care put into raising their offspring. They will have large pools dedicated to their lil babies until they’re ready to be walking around. Not super advanced technologically since y’know, iron and other metals is somewhat inaccessible. But maybe that’ll change, still thinking of how I want to set up the planet.
More to come, I want to develop the biology of the mats a lot more. I got hella good ideas for some biomes I want.

pls pls tell me about your hcs for the first members of the crew fitting the elements of harmony, i very much wanna hear 👀👀👀
Thanks for asking I love u very much allow me to bring a chair so you can sit down and read all my rambling 🪑
some notes about this absolute madness:
I feel like they fit the element but also some traits of the mlp characters too so I will add that when it's necessary
When I talk about the mugiwara's dreams I assume they've already reached them bc the story is not finished yet like mlp and I KNOW THEY WILL ACHIEVE THEIR DREAMS anyways
Please don't have high expectations ahhh I don't wanna end up feeling like I thought something cool and it ended up being lame, I'm not used to writing or explaining stuff this way (and in english tho oof double brain work)
I'll put a everything under a read more bc it ended up being long and also uhh CW: spoilers for both series yeah
✦ Magic: First of all and obvious reason, main character lol.
Character who gathered the group in the first place
Royalty !!! King of the Pirates!!! Princess of Friendship!!! besides the fact that Luffy's dream is becoming the king and Twilight just had to do it etc etc
Very powerful mentor who's far away but encouraged them to start their journey and find their friends
They're not similar in personality at all I get it lmao
✦ Kindness: oof do I need to say anything
Sanji is kind, that's like one of the traits that made him one of my fav characters (more than his totally badass habilities).
and of course that's one of his most important traits
His mother sacrificed everything and celebrated everytime he showed his kindness, he was a sweet child, he's soft with children and helps anyone who's in need.
He's so full of emotion and can go from the softest to the meanest in a second if he needs to (flashbacks to fluttershy literally confronting a bigass dragon, making him cry and leave bc he was mean to her friends)
Also both characters are certified Friends of the Little Critters ™ and can't fly very well
Special mention to Pinkie Pie here, since she shares the "Third child who stands out like a sore thumb from his other siblings because she's weird to her family standards" backstory with Sanji
✦ Loyalty: That's like one of Zoro's main character traits right? He's in the air before Luffy says jump
Cool, they're just cool and probably the most liked characters + the ones who sell more merch for sure lol
Both have a childhood dream, becoming the best swordsman/wonderbolt, but that doesn't push them to leave their friends to achieve it alone + having friends actually helps them reach their goals
hot headed kids + dumbass sometimes
✦ Honesty: The group's voice of reason
Character that pretends to be okay but hell naw she's not ok (AJ harvesting sweet apple acres and almost dying / Nami Pretending to be Arlong's little trustworthy human so she can save her village) until their friends help them to be honest and ask for help
Also they have similar lifes cultivating apples/tangerines with their families and I thought that was cute hehe
✦ Generosity: SCREAMS Chopper my little chop chop I love u my sweet child
The way that Rarity shows her element is usually by giving away something important to her (her time, her talent with fashion, HER FRIGGIN' TAIL) so she can help other people (creatures?) feel better, and there's no signs of repentance after that, she does it with her heart (and sometimes to show that she can make things fabulous)
This brings me to Chopper looking for the mushroom to cure Dr. Hiriluk's illness and showing up at his door all hurt but he's like heyy I got the thing. I understand that's another kind of "sacrifice" The way he showed his thankfulness to his mentor by risking his life looking for the mushroom and trying to prove that he's a good doctor too (even tho uhh we know how that ended)
This was a little bit more difficult to connect with his element and that's why I was in between choosing kindness and generosity for him, but
kindness had to be sanji's element for suree
Dr Kureha specifically told him that "kindness wasn't enough to save lives" and I won't contradict her she scares me so much
AND I feel like Chopper's generosity it's shown all along the show just by treating all those injured pirates over and over again for free lmao
My overall feeling when giving him the element was "He's a little doctor, of course he's generous, doctors are generous enough to learn how to save lives! so we don't like.. die! next question"
✦ Laughter:
This one was pretty simple too, I love Usopp bc he makes me laugh a lot, he's such a comedic relief for the story and also: my best friend in the whole wide world, yes *gives him a lil kiss*
Of course he's not just a comedic relief, he tries to make things easier trying to solve conflicts (sometimes) or joining the sillyness (most of times)
Also they like to tell stories! I feel like that's a cute trait that makes both characters more interesting, even when someone's stories are lies *eyes emoji* I like storyteller characters a lot !!
they're good with kids + tell them stories too !!
also the whole.. alter ego thing, yeah
AND THE PUFFY HAIR ♥
AIGHT
Hope you enjoyed my TED talk, thaks for giving me the strenght to be a little unhinged, I don't talk too much here but this whole mlp au has people coming and encouraging me to talk/write and I have a problem, once I start talking about something I like I can't shut up
And I like MLP since I was 12 years old, i started drawing because of it and I'm currently rewatching the whole series with my bf so if I see anything else I'll come back and add stuff for sure ♥

Overwhelmed (Gekko x Reader)
Part. 1
Part. 2
Tumblr media
Thousands of apologies for my bad English again. And I also apologize to your eyes for my dull and childish writing style.
Gekko found you funny. Well, he also found you cute, interesting, mysterious, badass, hot… But right now, he found you particularly funny.
It has now been two weeks since the Disney movie night and Gekko and you took the habit of drawing together in his room. Just you two chilling with some music, drawing peacefully while his critters either rest in their globular form or mess around. The first time you came into his room it was awkward. You barely talked to each other but Gekko seemed nice and he always wanted to put you at ease. He was glad you did not know how excited and nervous he was. You had brought your drawing book and shyly showed him some of your artworks. He felt so honored that he did not stop complimenting your style. And in the end, you ended up having a good time together. You got to know each other and he discovered a funny, sweet and caring person under this witty and cold mask of yours. The little crush he had on you bloomed into a severe infatuation.
He let out a small chuckle when you huffed in irritation and glared at your pen.
“What’s going on ?” He asked.
“It ran out of ink.”
You looked down at your pen with a ferocious scowl, as if internally insulting each atom of it with a burning passion. He gave you another pen and reached out for his phone to change the music. You accepted the pen and looked at it attentively, as if challenging it.
“You better not disappoint me.” You muttered under your breath.
The slight scrunch of your nose as you focused back on your artwork achieved to melt his heart. He found you so adorable yet so amusing.
“So, what are you drawing today ?” He asked.
“No idea. My brain is doing side quests again.”
With a small peek, he managed to see the outlines of what looked like a bunch of colorful puppies in your drawing book.
“Side quests ?”
“You heard me right.”
Somebody suddenly knocked on the door and you raised your eyes from your drawing book to shoot him an interrogating stare. He shrugged and opened the door to see Neon and Jett.
“Oh. Jett, Neon, how are you ?” He smiled.
Seemed like time was up. Your alone time with Gekko was over. Time for him to go back to his extrovert friends.
“Hey Gekko !” Jett smiled back. “We were about to run some errands. Wanna go with us ?”
Neon’s eyes settled on you as you stood up from Gekko’s bed, your stuff in hands.
“You can come with us if you want.”
You shot her a blank look and shook your head.
“I’ll be fine. But thanks for the proposal.”
You walked towards the door to exit the room but Gekko stopped you.
“Hey,” He smiled gently at you, pressing a gentle hand on your shoulder. “Are you sure you don’t want to come ?”
You freezed and looked at him. His eyes were sinking deep into yours and his smile was heartwarming. You took a deep breath and nodded.
“Certain. I had a tiring mission this morning. I’m not in the mood for going out.”
And socializing.
For a second, you saw a flicker of disappointment in his warm brown eyes but it quickly disappeared. And you did not notice the quick glance Neon and Jett shared.
“Okay. But I’ll buy you those snacks you talked to me about.” His warm smile enlightened his face. “Sounds good ?”
You sometimes did not understand why Gekko was being so nice with you. Even when you did not know each other that well, he always tried to include you. You oftenly asked yourself why. ‘Because you're my friend’ he would say. But there was something in his actions that would hint something a bit more than friendship. You wondered if he wanted to be your best friend.
“Sounds fine.” You finally answered. “But may I ask why ?”
His hand gently squeezed your shoulder as he leaned a bit closer to you.
“Because I know you like these specific snacks. And I want to make you smile for once.”
You raised an eyebrow and tilted your head, your eyes half-lidded with boredom. Once again, you did not understand. Why so sweet ? Why so welcoming ? Gekko was like a touch of icing sugar on a crepe : everything tastes better with him.
“It’s just a snack.” You blankly replied. “Not the peace in the world. Or a Higher Brothers concert.”
Jett and Neon snorted but Gekko’s smile did not falter.
“I know. But you love these snacks and that’s enough.”
You looked at him with an indescribable stare and Gekko suddenly felt self-conscious. What was happening in that mysterious mind of yours ? Your stare was so intense that he could feel your eyes on his skin as if they were physically touching him. It was in these kinds of moments Gekko wished he could read your mind. Especially now that you were contemplating him with all the intensity and concentration your eyes could give. But how could he read the mind of someone who had a habit of keeping people at arms’ length ?
“Do…I have something on my face ?” He asked.
“Yes.” You replied. “A smile.”
You then walked out of his room and disappeared in the hallways, unaware of the look of longing in his eyes as his gaze followed you until your figure vanished around a corner.
“Did we cockblocked you or something ?” Neon suddenly blurted out.
Jett let out a booming laugh and playfully nudged Gekko’s arm. “You really have to check your rizz skills !”
Gekko rolled his eyes as he snapped out of his contemplation. Of course, most agents of Valorant knew about his feelings for you. He was so obvious with it that everyone wondered how it was possible that you hadn't noticed. You were hyper observant on the fields, but in your everyday life you seemed so oblivious. How could you notice a sniper from the other side of the site without turning around, but be so blind when it comes to his feelings for you ? How could you be so oblivious to his eyes begging for yours to notice them, his body begging to embrace yours and his ears begging to hear your voice ?
He let out a deep sigh and looked at Jett with a sheepish smile while rubbing his neck. “Oh really ? I thought my skills were good.”
Neon shook her head and gently patted his shoulder. “Apparently your charming smile isn’t enough !”
Charming smile. Charming. Gekko’s smile was indeed charming. Like a little piece of sun ray warming your heart. And you did not understand how a silly little charming smile could have the ability to manipulate your pulse. How these warm brown eyes could freeze you in an instant. How these freckles could fascinate you. How his gentle facial expressions were printed in your eyes like when one looks at the sun for too long. How his eyes shined everytime you complimented him. How his gentleness could give your stomach such sensations. And as you speed-walked in the base hallways, you wondered if Gekko had some sort of hidden powers. Some powers that may influence you biologically and disturb your train of thoughts. That would also explain why your heart was beating faster than usual. Or why your stomach felt so jumpy without feeling particularly sick.
You felt confused. And you seemed uncharacteristically lost when you barged into Cypher’s lab.
“I don’t feel like usual !”
The sentinel lifted his masked face from his chess board and looked up at your disoriented expression with a curious tilt of his head.
“I am afraid that you confused me with Sage, dear.”
You ignored his sentence, set your drawing stuff aside and took a seat in front of the chess board as he rearranged the pawns with swift movements.
“I think it might be hormonal or something.” You said as you moved a pawn on the chess board.
“Once again, I recommend you see Sage.” Cypher also moved a pawn and your game of chess began.
“I think Gekko might have done something to me.”
“Oh this is getting interesting.” He propped his chin on his knuckles. “Please, tell me more.”
Even if you could not see it, you knew he had a Cheshire grin under his mask.
You moved another pawn and sighed.
“As you certainly know, Gekko and I took the habit of hanging out together in his room.”
Cypher nodded and moved another pawn. “I indeed already knew that. Both of you are pretty photogenic together on my cameras.”
You let out an annoyed groan and rolled your eyes. You should be used to it by now, but Cypher’s teasing oftenly managed to catch you off-guard.
“I know this is technically a compliment, but it sounds creepy coming from you.”
The sentinel let out a soft chuckle.
“My apologies if my words made you uneasy but please, continue.”
You rolled your eyes again and proceeded to explain how you felt these days each time you walked out of Gekko's room. How you felt flushed when he gave you compliments. How you found Gekko’s habit of gently squeezing your shoulders pleasant and how you found yourself oddly longing for each time his hands would make contact with your shoulders. And you finally told him that you suspected Gekko to have some hidden radiant powers that could manipulate you biologically. All of that while slowly losing your game of chess.
“Ah youth !” Sighed Cypher with a dreamy tone.
“Here’s the boomer talking.” You groaned as you lost another pawn. “Do you really think I should go see Sage, though ?”
“Oh you were actually listening.” Cypher giggled. “To answer your question, I think you should talk to Gekko.”
“About his probable other radiancy.” You nodded. “I wonder if he noticed.”
Cypher let out an amused sigh and shook his head. “The only radiant abilities Gekko has is his links with his critters, dear.” He moved another pawn and the slight shake of his shoulder indicated to you that he was silently laughing under his mask. “I can’t tell if you’re being oblivious or if you’re just too innocent.”
You frowned, not understanding his comments, nor his amusement.
“What do you mean ?”
Cypher tilted his head and you heard another giggle from him. He then leaned over the board and talked with a soft tone.
“Love is more meaningful when it is naked.”
You shot him an unimpressed look and threw a pawn at him that he easily caught. You raised an eyebrow and squinted your eyes a little.
“Is it another proverb from your country again ?”
Cypher nodded “It is.” He leaned back on his chair. He looked at you deeply (you could literally feel it) and his body language showed amusement. “Gekko and you are honest youngsters. If you communicate with each other, everything should be fine.”
“Communicate ?” You frowned again. “Well we communicate quite well during missions but I’m not talking about something mission related, you cheap Stormtrooper.”
Cypher’s demeanor this time showed surprise with a slight hint of exasperation. He still could not tell if you were oblivious or too innocent. He suspected that you could not understand romantic logic.
You heard someone calling your call sign and you turned around to see Reyna walking in your direction, her eyes hard and cold as usual. But you were not impressed. While most people of the HQ were intimidated by her, you were one of the rare agents who were not frightened by her presence.
“Do you know where Gekko is ? I checked his room but he wasn’t there.”
You heard another small chuckle from Cypher but you chose to ignore it.
“He’s running errands with Jett and Neon.” You said with a shrug.
Her eyes narrowed a bit on you but she nodded. She looked at you as if she knew something that you should but in a different way than Cypher. Cypher always knew things that other people should know. Reyna was currently looking at you with a hint of curiosity hidden behind an analytical stare. But she brushed it off, thanked you and walked out of the room.
“Look at you, getting along with your in-laws.” You heard Cypher singsong.
You turned towards him and shot him an interrogating stare.
“In-laws ? I think you got the wrong English word.”
“No no. I got it right.” He snickered but immediately stopped when somebody barged into the room.
It was Iso and he seemed in a hurry. He called your name with a certain urgency.
“An emergency mission just fell on us. Brimstone wants you in the team.”
You frowned and stood up quickly from your chair. You stole a quick glance to Cypher who nodded at you quietly, took your stuff off the table and followed Iso outside the room.
“An emergency ?” You repeated as you walked behind Iso in the hallways. “Right now ? We just defused a spike this morning.”
Iso’s pace was quick but not rushed. He glanced in your direction and left out a soft hummed sound.
“Something about a surprise attack. Brimstone will tell us more in the VLT/R.”
★★★  ★★★
When Gekko came back, he was so disappointed to learn that you were not there because of an emergency mission.
He was so excited to finally taste these snacks you liked so much and he wanted to taste them with you. So when he got back to HQ, he ran towards your dorm room and knocked. Killjoy who was passing by had to tell him that you had to go. He looked down at the pack of snacks in his hands with a saddened expression. Compassionate, the German engineer patted his slumped shoulder with an empathetic smile.
“It’s probably not a long mission.”
Killjoy had never been so wrong. It has now been five days and Gekko had never known a better way to understand the expression ‘worried sick’.
The base did not have any news from the team sent on the field since day one.
Missions are usually not that long and the headquarters always had live information on how the assignments are going. So saying Gekko was worried was a great, if not gigantic, euphemism.
He barely slept, hardly ate and he was far from being focused during training. His mood worsened when Sage had told him that they still had no news from the team sent on the field. His state worried more than one agent and even though his friends tried to distract him, he only had you in mind. He constantly tried to ignore the horrible scenarios his mind made up about you being severely injured or worse. Scenarios where he loses you in the most painful way possible without having the time to confess properly. Reyna had tried to revive his appetite by cooking his favorite Mexican dish but he did not even look at the plate. Phoenix, Jett, Neon and Clove had tried to coax him with a new video game without much success. Breach tried to make him laugh with some dad jokes without much results. Even his radivore critters could not manage to lift his mood. And because of Gekko’s lack of reaction, Wingman, Dizzy, Thrash and Mosh became more and more depressed. They became almost inactive, staying in their globular form most of the time.
On the sixth day, Gekko was pitifully laid on his bed, holding the packet of snacks he had bought for you against his chest when he heard Neon speaking from behind the door.
“We have news ! According to Viper they’re coming back this evening !”
Gekko jumped from his bed, nearly stumbled on his feet and opened the door with precipitation. Neon jumped in surprise, a small spark of electricity dancing over her pigtails.
“This evening ?” Gekko gasped out. “For real ?”
His radivore critters became more lively behind him, Wingman jumping on his shoulder, Dizzy flying in circles around their head, Thrash floating around their feet and Mosh bouncing everywhere behind them. It was as if they suddenly came back to life.
“Yeah, for real !” Neon looked at him from head to toe and left out a saddened sigh. “Are you alright ?”
Gekko nervously ran his fingers through his lime-green hair and shot her an uncharacteristically tired smile.
“Me ? I’m fine. Perfectly fine. Perfecto. Why would I not be fine ?”
A nervous tic animated his face and his hands were slightly shaking.
“Gekko, you look like an amalanhig.”
“A what ?”
Neon shook her head and sigh. “A Filipino zombie-like creature.”
“I’m not a zombie.”
“Oh yeah ? That’s not what my eyes are telling me.” She stepped back a little to take a better look at him, gestured vaguely at him with a sigh then shook her head again. “Just look at you ! You were that worried, huh ?”
“I mean, yeah.” Gekko looked at his feet and rubbed his neck. “What if something happened ? What if I didn't have time to confess ?”
Neon hugged him tightly, patting his back with empathy. “We’re Valorant, you idiot. The best fighters of this freaking dimension.”
Gekko returned the hug with a long sigh. “Yeah, you’re right.”
They stepped back from each other and Gekko frowned a little.
“Wait, why are they coming this evening and not right now ? The VLT/R can literally travel at the speed of light.”
“The team needs to have some rest first. They’re chilling in a hotel. Apparently the mission was pretty hardcore. Sage was literally screaming instructions on the comm earlier. I’ve never seen her like that before.”
The young initiator’s eyes widened in surprise at her words. The Chinese healer was usually so calm and collected that it was difficult to imagine her screaming or even losing control of her emotions.
“Man, I hope the team will come back okay.”
The simple fact that someone like Sage lost her cool gave him shivers through his spine. He wondered what happened during this mission to make Sage lose her usual calm and collected self but at the same time, he did not really want to know. All he hoped for was his friend's safety.
Well at least, with his mood lifted by the news of the team's arrival, his appetite came back to Reyna’s greatest joy. He ate as if to compensate for all the meals he missed. Harbor had forbidden him to train, saying that he needed some rest and Gekko did not complain. He played video games for a few hours before walking out of his room. He needed some fresh air, so he walked in the garden and he understood why you liked spending your time here. It was so peaceful and refreshing that he felt his soul healing even though it wasn't hurt in the first place. He let his critters roam around and enjoyed the soft fragrance of the different flowers. He pulled his earbuds out and started a playlist with some music you had recommended to him. And as Meddle About by Chase Atlantic played in his ears, Gekko sat down on the bench where you both spent the night together two weeks ago.
The wind made the plants whisper and the sun gently caressed his skin while his thoughts brought him back to two weeks ago, to your first non-mission related conversation. He found it funny how your relationship evolved, even though you were still quite mysterious to his eyes. Not surprising at all, you were Cypher’s protégé.
Despite the fact that you spent a lot of time in his room these days, he still knew so little about you. Most of the time, he was the one talking. He tried to ask questions about your life before you joined the protocol but you were pretty vague about it. He knew you took down a whole K-SEC facility and that was how Cypher knew about your existence and how the Valorant protocol took interest in you. He remembered how the duelists went crazy when they heard about someone taking an entire facility down all by themselves. Even Brimstone was impressed. He also remembered Iso saying he had a slight idea of who you were. Same for Fade. Iso was an assassin and Fade a Bounty Hunter. Maybe you were a famous name in the underground world. That would explain why the Chinese duelist and the Turkish initiator had heard about you before you joined Valorant.
Cypher had been the one in charge to recruit you. Gekko remembered Sage saying that the sentinel had to travel a lot to get you and he kinda wondered why. It took Cypher a complete month to bring you to the Headquarters. Gekko remembered being so curious about the new agent that he hid behind a pillar with Jett, Neon, Clove and Phoenix as Deadlock gave you a tour of the base. You immediately noticed them and shot them a glacial glare that froze them to place. You made such a strong first impression that the young initiator had grown more curious about you. And that leads to his actual infatuation for you.
Gekko noticed the VLT/R in the sky flying back to the base and he understood that he spent an hour daydreaming on the bench. He now comprehended better why you liked staying here so often. The sun was slowly settling and the wind grew slightly colder. He stood up, gathered his critters in his cross-body bag and rushed back inside to his dorm to get the pack of snacks he bought for you a few days ago. He then hurried towards the hangar as the team climbed off the plane. He looked around and did not see you anywhere. He walked towards Iso and Yoru who were putting their gear away and asked them where he could find you.
“In the infirmary with Sage.” Iso simply replied.
Gekko’s eyebrows knotted in a frown. “The infirmary ? What happened ?”
“Everything’s fine.” Yoru rolled his eyes. “Your crush just went apeshit during the mission and got dragged in the infirmary right after we arrived by Sage. Must admit that it was kinda impressive. Scary even.”
Gekko noticed Iso’s tired eyes landing on the packet of snacks in his hands. The Chinese duelist lifted an eyebrow but said nothing.
“Even though we stopped at that hotel for a quick sleep and shower, we’re still beat.” Yoru groaned. “Sage must be treating the injured ones.”
Gekko nodded, nervousness clenching his stomach. “Okay. Thanks, guys !”
He ran towards the medbay, ignoring Viper’s complaints about him running in the corridors and barged in the infirmary to only find Sage storing some gauze in a cupboard.
“Gekko ?” Sage looked at him with eyes wide opened by surprise. “Is everything alright ?”
He looked around and found you nowhere.
“Everything’s cool, Sage.” He sighed.
Sage let out a soft humming sound.
“I think you might find who you’re searching for in the dorm quarters.”
Gekko looked at her with so much gratitude that the Chinese healer felt as if she just saved his life. The young initiator then sprinted to the dormitories. He turned around a corridor and finally saw you as you were about to open the door of your room. He accelerated and screamed your callsign despite noticing your headphones on your ears. He stopped right in front of you and tried to catch his breath back, his hands on his knees. You finally noticed him and raised an eyebrow as you pulled down your headphones.
“Are you dying ?” You asked him and Gekko had never been so happy to hear one of your witty comments. “Seriously, you really have a habit of running uselessly in these damn corridors like a headless chicken.”
He straightened his back and took a better look at you. You looked slightly exhausted and the bandages on your arms caught his attention.
“Are you okay ?”
You stared blankly at him then let a deep sigh out of your lungs. “You’re the one who just ran through several corridors like a shattered soul lost into madness.”
Gekko took a step closer and gently grabbed your shoulder. “And you’re the one who just came back from an almost week long mission.” His hand gently squeezed your shoulder – as if to be sure you really were here – and he felt your breath hitching. “And you came back hurt.”
He took a better look at your bandaged arms and his brows furrowed in worry. You put a soft hand over his and sighed again.
“I’m alive, Gekko. I’m still breathing, walking and soon relaxing.”
“But your arms–”
“It’s fine.” You interrupted him. “Sage kidnapped me and applied some ointment on my arms before releasing me and goddamn this woman has strength !”
Gekko was clearly not amused. He looked at you with an uncharacteristically heaviness in his eyes. His full body was leaning towards yours and his eyes were deeply sinking into yours with an unusual gravity.
“You should rest.” He said simply, his voice unusually deep.
Your eyes narrowed on him and you raised an eyebrow. “Well, you too. Your dark circles are worse than Fade’s and I did not think it was possible until now. Was sleeping an option ?”
Despite the sarcasm in your tone, he could hear the worry in your voice. He gently squeezed your shoulder again. He took a deep breath and raised his other hand to reveal the packet of snacks.
“I bought this for you.”
Your eyes widened when you saw the colorful packaging of your favorite snacks and you looked at him with surprise. You leaned back against your door and he took a step further towards you.
“How did you know I love these ?” You asked. “And why did you buy them ?”
He smiled gently, his warm brown eyes still anchored into yours. “You told me you loved them the other day and you got me curious. So, I wanted to taste them.”
“Oh. So you liked these ?” Your eyebrows raised slightly as you asked but Gekko shook his head.
“I haven't tasted them yet. I wanted to taste them with you.”
“With me ?”
He nodded and his eyes were still sunk into yours. You took a deep breath and mumbled an ‘okay’ with an indescribable stare and opened the door of your dorm room. It was the first time you invited him inside. He now had before him a new aspect of you. His eyes traveled to the decorations ; the different posters on your walls, the impressive collection of books on your shelves and the comfy-looking armchair and bean bags beside it, the different arts supplies on your desk, the cute little charms and goodies on your computer.
Gekko took a seat on your bed and kept looking around. “Damn ! Your room’s so cool !”
“I already know that, but thanks.”
He chuckled and observed you taking off your shoes and your jacket. He patted the space beside him and you joined him. You looked at him and tilted your head slightly.
“When did you buy these ? It’s not the day of errands.”
Gekko opened the packet and a sweet smell caressed his nose. “The other day with Jett and Neon. When I came back, you were gone for this mission.” His hand dived into the packet to take one snack and handed it to you before taking one for himself.
“Oh. But you could have eaten these until now.” You bit into the snack and a soft smile appeared on your lips when the taste danced on your tongue, your eyes closing in delight.
Gekko’s pupils dilated when he saw you smiling. “True. I could’ve. But I already told you : I wanted to taste them with you.” He took one bite. “Snacks taste better when you eat them with someone.”
‘Someone you love’, he wanted to say. Gekko’s eyes were stuck on your smiling face. It was the first time he saw your smile and it made him feel so giddy inside. And damn these snacks were good. They tasted like heaven. Gekko quickly took another one and his throat let out a noise of satisfaction.
“I don’t understand.” He heard you muttering. “Why are you like this ?”
Gekko paused, then looked at you. “What do you mean ?” He frowned when he noticed your lost expression. “Did I do something wrong ?”
Your fingers were clenched on your lap and your shoulders were tense. “You’re always like this with me. You try to include me every time in the base activities, you stay with me when I’m alone, you always tell me these cool things, you remember my existence every time, you always run across the whole base like a lost and wheezing puppy to see me and now…you just bought my favorite snacks to share with me. Why ?”
Gekko blinked and stared at you with a dumbfounded expression. “Because you’re my fr–”
“Don’t you dare give me your ‘power of friendship’ bullshit !” You interrupted him. “What do you want from me ? You could spend your time with your friends yet you chose to stay with me. And you always act so sweetly towards me and…and…your eyes are always looking at me with something that I can’t fathom !” You took a deep breath. “How do you make me feel these things that I don’t understand ?”
Saying that Gekko’s eyes were wide open would be a great euphemism. If they could pop out to roll on the floor like two marbles, they would. And after a moment of silence, he let out a booming laugh that shook the entirety of his body. Gekko thought that it was his nerves finally breaking because of the lack of sleep. Or maybe that big sensation of joy that was energizing his whole body at your words. He wanted to jump everywhere, to hold you tight and to make you spin. But after seeing your offended stare, he knew it was a bad idea.
He calmed down a little, a smile still illuminating his face, and kneeled down before you, grabbing your hand in his. “How do you feel when I do this ?”
He could not help but find you adorable when he saw your eyes widening. He rarely saw your face being so expressive. He was now certain that you felt something for him, even though you seemed quite oblivious of your own feelings.
“Gekko, are you on drugs ?”
The randomness of your question made him crack a chuckle. He hid his face in the palm of your hand and chuckled a little, peeking at you through your fingers. “No. Why’re you asking ?”
“Your pupils are fucking dilated.” You frowned a little.
His smile widened against your palm. “So are yours.”
Gekko rarely felt so giddy. It was maybe because of the skin-to-skin contact and the fact that he had your complete attention but his stomach felt so jumpy and his heart had never been so loud. His breath was slightly shaky and his eyes sparkled with joy.
“So, how do you feel ?” He asked again.
“I…” Your frown deepened and Gekko felt your fingers twitching slightly on his face. “Are you trying to bully me ?”
Gekko gently shook his head and planted a soft kiss on your palm. “No, cariño.” He said softly. “I just want to be sure we’re on the same page. How are you feeling ?”
He felt your breath hitching and you suddenly started to avoid his gaze. “My legs feel weak, my heart is beating faster than a cheetah on cocaine and my brain is not braining anymore.” You whined and withdrew your hand from his soft touch. “What did you do to me ? Whatever it is, stop it !”
Gekko chuckled with fondness. He sat back next to you on the bed and gently grabbed your shoulder. “I didn't do anything.”
“Liar !”
He gently squeezed your shoulders and he felt you shivering. “I didn't do anything, I swear ! I feel the same way about you !”
He felt you freeze at his words. Even your breathing stopped. Once again, he wondered what happened in your mind. Did he mess things up ? Did he break his chance beyond repair ? Your sudden lack of reaction terrified him. He was about to call you when suddenly, Wingman jumped out of his cross-body bag to hug your face tightly, a few joyful gurgles escaping him.
“What the–”
You jumped on your feet and took the radivore in your hands.
“What the matter, you crazy Haribo ?” You asked.
Wingman let another few excited gurgles out, his movements energetics and almost exasperated.
Gekko suddenly stood on his feet and took the radivores from your hands. “¡Se lo iba a decir!” He whisper-shouted to the small critter. “There was no need to interrupt us.”
Wingman let out a few chirped noises, raising his hands to heaven like an exasperated friend. The small creature massaged its temples and uttered a sigh. You observed the small interaction with a raised eyebrow. The amount of disappointment radiating from Wingman almost made you lower your eyes. From your point of view, it seemed like Wingman was scolding Gekko.
“I’m not a coward !”
You cleared your throat, interrupting the small interaction. They both looked at you.
“What's happening ?” You observed with stupefaction Wingman performing an acrobatic jump to smack the back of Gekko’s head.
“Ouch !”
He then went back into the cross-body bag, waving at you in the process. You stared into Gekko’s eyes with a lost and dumbfounded expression.
“What just happened ?”
Gekko cleared his throat and took your hand. “Let’s forget about that, yeah ?” He guided you towards your bed and sat you down. He then sat down next to you and grabbed your shoulders again, leaning towards you. “I’m about to do something that might be uncomfortable for you. Don’t hesitate to push me if I’m going too far.”
He leaned a bit more, testing the water. He saw you frowning a little, silently asking him what he was doing. His hands slid from your shoulders to cup your face.
“Don’t hesitate to push me if I’m going too far.” He repeated.
You just stared at him. He leaned a bit further, looking into your eyes and finally pressed a soft, gentle and loving kiss on the lips he’s been fantasizing for weeks. He felt you jump a little in surprise and lean back faintly. Your eyes were slightly unfocused.
“I…am pretty sure friends aren’t supposed to do that.” You whispered.
Gekko’s eyes were smiling while his thumb was caressing your lower lip. “You didn't push me.” He leaned further again. “Did you like it ?”
“I think we’re both tired.” You sighed and the smile in his eyes faltered.
“You don’t love me ?”
“Love ?”
Now that was interesting. You’ve never seemed so lost. And Gekko had never seen your eyes so wide open. The amount of shock and surprise in your eyes was a truly rare sight. You grabbed Gekko’s wrists to push his hands off your face.
“Well, yeah.” He nervously rubbed his neck. “That’s what we’ve been telling each other earlier, right ?”
“What ?”
“The sensations you described to me. I’ve been experiencing the same kind of thing for a while now. And I’m in love with you.”
“Oh.” You answer simply, nodding slowly. You stared blankly at him and your eyebrows started to furrow. “Oh !” The information sank slowly into your brain as the furrow of your brows faded into a raise. “Holy shit !”
‘Love is more meaningful when it is naked.’
You now understood what Cypher meant a few days ago. And as your hands landed over your mouth in shock, you took a better look at Gekko. Despite the fatigue on his face, you found him handsome. The bags under his eyes did not manage to diminish the lively sparks in his gaze, the nervousness of his current made him adorable. And those soft and generous lips sweetened by the snacks…
“Shit.” You muttered. You blinked and started to massage your temples. “Shit shit shit shit shit.”
“Hey, you okay ?”
“My brain chemistry failed me ?” You gasped.
It was now Gekko’s turn to seem lost. “What ?”
“How could I be in love with you ? I don’t even know your name !”
“Mateo.” He said simply.
“I didn't ask !” You whined.
He let out an amused chuckle. Once again, he found you adorable and funny at the same time.
“But I thought we both were sick and I was about to propose we go see Sage together !”
Gekko uttered a booming laugh and let his back fall on your mattress, his body quivering. “Man, you really are something else !”
You looked at him with fatigue. You were both tired, and your nerves were cracking. You let yourself fall next to him. You let out the most tired sigh you’ve ever uttered and hide your face behind your hands. Gekko’s laugh calmed down and you felt him turning towards you. You let out another tired sigh. You now had an explanation for these strange body reactions each time you and Gekko were close. You now knew why you thought so much about him during that damn mission, wishing to feel his warm hands squeezing your shoulders each day. How you craved his presence. You were in love with him.
You never thought it would happen to you.
You’ve been through so much and were alone until Cypher found you. You did not despise that loneliness, it was a comforting one. And even when you arrived at the base, you tried to seek that comfort again but Cypher never allowed you. He introduced you to Iso, saying that you would get along well and he was right. Iso was like an older brother for you now and you found yourself liking to think that he saw you as a sibling as well. And through Iso you got to know Deadlock better and discovered you both shared an interest in novels. You thought having these two with you was more than enough. Then how the heck did Gekko and his fling of funny colorful creatures manage to slither in your cocoon ? How did he manage to make you crave for his presence ? How did he manage to make you fall for him ?
The idea of falling in love never ever crossed your mind. It never happened to you, so why now ?
“So, what now ?”
You heard him propping himself on one elbow and felt his eyes on you. “I wanted to ask you out. I want us to be a couple.”
You lower your hands from your face and look up at him. You bit nervously your lower lip. You wanted to hide yourself, to run away. But you were tired. And you internally facepalmed yourself when you thought about Cypher’s cameras in the corridors outside your room. He certainly already knew Gekko was in your room. You knew that he would ask you in the morning what happened between you two around a cup of tea and a game of chess. But for now, you wanted to be honest with Gekko.
“I don’t know how to do these kinds of things. How to be a couple.”
If Cypher heard you, he would have been proud of your achievement.
He smiled fondly at you and took your hand. “Figured. But that’s okay. We can take our time. And I can teach you.” He planted a soft kiss on your palm. “But do you want me as your boyfriend ?”
Your eyes widened and your stomach fluttered. Embarrassed, you tried to turn your face away but Gekko caught your chin to prevent you from doing so.
You cleared your throat and grabbed his wrist. “I want to try. But you’ll have to be patient with me.”
The smile Gekko shot at you could possibly make you blind. He gently squeezed your hand in his. Your stomach fluttered again and your heart shivered.
“You have no idea how happy I am right now.”
“Gekko, your smile is literally blinding me.”
His smile widened and his eyes softened when you yawned. Of course, you just came back from a tiring mission, and he barely slept during the week. Gekko laid his head next to yours. He was radiating happiness. Despite being tired, you literally felt that he wanted to jump in excitement.
“Can I stay here with you ?”
You turned your face towards his, your noses now touching.
“Are you taking advantage of my tired state ?” You raised an eyebrow.
Now look at him throwing you that boyish smile of his. Wasn't he charming ? Happiness was radiating from him.
“Totally.” He playfully wiggled his eyebrows. “I dreamed of this for weeks, you know. Plus, you owe me that. I was so worried about you that I barely slept these past few days."
Now you were certain that Cypher would definitely make you spill the tea in the morning. He had to be so amused right now, watching his screens and wondering what is happening inside your room. And as Gekko closed his eyes, you thought that maybe you were unconscious in the middle of the mission and that you were dreaming. You were back in the base after a hard week, you now knew that you had feelings for Gekko – shared feelings – and now you were sharing your bed with him. It felt like a fever dream. You hardly believed it.
Tumblr media
I'm not really satisfied with ending...again. ಥ‿ಥ
But that's fine. I'm learning. <( ̄︶ ̄)>
Anecdote : the proverb said by Cypher was also said to me by my friend's father. This man had a thing with proverbs and likes to write them in a cute little notebook with cute little annotations. He also like sharing them and it helped me a lot during certain events of my life.
Anecdote 2 : I wrote this part while listening Meddle About by Chase Atlantic.
Will I post a third part ? No idea. My brain and my will are two different forces that rarely meddle with each other's paths.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I wish you a lovely day/evening/night.

Wasteland Woes: A Legacy Challenge
Hi! So I haven’t seen a ton of Fallout inspired challenges (except for @luxelattesims ‘ Vault one which you should also check out), and I wanted to try and make my own. This is very simple and up to a lot of interpretation! The premise of this is to do regular things in the Sims with the aspirations and goals but with some Fallout inspired things on the side. Aging, neighborhood stories, etc are all up to you.
Note: this challenge will require a lot of packs like Strangerville, Cottage Living, Outdoor Retreat, University, etc.
Aspirations and their subsections are here
Gen 1: Vault Dweller
Your Sim has been dropped into the new world after the end with only the clothing on their back. It’s your goal to figure out what caused the end of the world, survive, and possibly find love out in this wasteland.
Move to Strangerville
Aspiration: Strangerville Mystery
Household lot must have Simple Living and Off the Grid
for extra challenge you can add Grody and Filthy
Have at least one romantic partner
One child will be the next heir (adopted or having)
Make friends with at least 4 other Wastelanders and have them move in
Gen 2: Lone Wanderer
Your parents found love and happiness in the Wasteland, but you just want to get out and explore.
Move to another world (I recommend Evergreen Harbor)
Aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast
Household lot must have Simple Living and Off the Grid
Have at least one child (whether adopting or having)
Complete at least one collection (fish, gems, etc)
Gen 3: Wasteland Whisperer
While your family explored the wild wasteland, you found a love of animals. Now all you want to do is have your own little piece of land with some critters.
Stay in the world or move to another
Aspiration: Country Caretaker
Have at least 1 cow, 1 llama, and chickens
There’s mods to add other animals here by @kalino-thesims
Collect as many plants as you’re able
Household lot must have Simple Living and Off the Grid
Have at least one child (whether adopting or having)
Gen 4: Nerd Rage
Growing up on the farm made you realize you didn’t want to live a simple life anymore. You want to learn about everything and anything. It is up to you whether you use this knowledge for good or evil.
Stay in the world or move to another
Aspiration: nerd brain and/or renaissance sim
Household lot must have Simple Living and Off the Grid
Make a robo companion (servo)
Achieve level 10 research and debate skill
Have at least one child (whether adopting or having)
Gen 5: Local Leader
While your family loved learning new things, you wanted to be in charge. You either fell in with a group of settlers or raiders and climbed up the ranks.
Stay in the world or move to another
Aspiration: Leader of the Pack
Can either be for a leader of a good group or raiders
Household lot must have Simple Living and Off the Grid
Reach level 10 in crafting and fitness
Ask at least 4 Sims to move in with you
Retire somewhere after choosing your next chain of command
Some fun Fallout mods:
My own cc: Vault Suit, Vault Suit Extras, Nuka Cola Jumpsuits, Fallout Billboards, and Grungy Tops  (maxis match)
Synth skin & eyes: here (creator is Hagalazsims) (Maxis-mix)

batfamily as disney princesses
wait so ive been thinking more about this post in particular on what the assigned disney princess is for each batfamily member and i need to u all to understand my thoughts rn 1. dick as ariel from the little mermaid:
can we agree on the fact that dick is the most likely to get eloped without giving a single hint? also the most likely to break out into a spontaneous song number. he's such a bubbly person and would be friends with anyone, INCLUDING A CRAB. 2. jason as tiana from princess and the frog: okay hear me out- we're so used to him being perceived as belle, but honestly they're not THAT similar personality wise. tiana is passionate, persistent and opinionated. if that doesn't scream jason i don't know what does. both of them would never change themselves for other people and i think thats so lovely. 3. tim as belle from beauty and the beast: im still on my tim as belle bullshit !! both of them are idealistic, loyal and slightly judgemental. honestly the way both of them managed to change people around them( i.e- bruce and the beast) to become better people, while not giving two fucks is pretty commendable LMFAO.
4. damian as snow white from snow white and the seven dwarfs:
DO YOU SEE MY VISION. imagine littol damian frolicking in a field as he sings to a bunch of deers and bluebirds. in my mind, he's just a gremlin with no thoughts but little critters running through his brain. he's so gentle with his pets and is extremely environmentally conscious.
5. cass as mulan from mulan:
there is literally no other option more fit for her. groomed from a young age to be something they're not, but then becoming badass warriors in their own right? like yesss girl bosses !! and both of them having issues with finding their own self that's not a reflection of what other's want and perceive them to be?? so compelling~
6. stephanie as rapunzel from tangled.
thats it. that's all you need. okay i'm joking but stephanie is so painfully rapunzel it HURTS. both escaping from a toxic environment to find enjoyment for life once again, and doing good for the world. i love them both to death. they're also my gf's
okay as for the rest i dont have any concrete reasoning but the vibes just m a t c h
6. duke as elsa from frozen- idk something about them is just so uncanny. i'd imagine trying to live upto the expectations of ur new family and the rest of the population would take a toll on you, which is basically the premise of frozen. and both of them are rlly pretty...
7. barbara as jasmine from aladdin- literally best girls icl. there is no logic behind this, but i think little barbara dreamed of being as cool as jasmine one day. BONUS: bruce wayne as cinderella.
anyways this is all just for fun and feel free to comment ur suggestions !!

was going to write something with will and guns (as inspired by @cosmobrain00's post) but the concept is currently eluding me so i'll leave it for later and instead share the main reason i don't personally like that trope :\
w // mentions of trauma, abuse, violence and death (and guns, of couse)
of course, there is a lot to say about taking a sweet character and forcing him to do something that goes inherently against his nature in an effort to make him "cooler" or "badass", which completely disregards the fact that it's will's "softness" what makes him a strong and compelling character. he remains pure-hearted even after everything he's gone through; he remains gentle even though he has all the reasons to be bitter. taking a tender character like him and giving him a stereotypically masculine and "action hero-esque" role takes away from such qualities, and completely ignores the fact that will has many other strengths and unique abilities he can provide to the overall group dynamic (which make him a much more interesting character than certain other members of the extended party, like hopper).
there is also a lot to say about how pushing the idea of giving him a gun to make him tougher is exactly what lonnie was trying to do with both jonathan and will, and how such behaviour is part of the passive (and active) homophobia lonnie was enacting on will specifically. needless to say, the fact that his abusive, homophobic, physically violent father had a gun in the house would also undeniably be a source of trauma and terror for will, regardless of whether lonnie tried to teach him to use it (like with jonathan) or not.
(making him face this fear would do little for his character arc, though, considering the story's presented that specific point as something for jonathan to face and conquer as opposed to will, whose arc is more oriented towards him facing his upside down-related trauma (which would already have him dealing with his many other sources of trauma, anyway))
and of course, there is the point that guns have been abundantly showcased as completely ineffective against upside down critters, which again, are the main enemy will's been set up to defeat in some way in his recovering-his-life, coming of age journey.
now, those are all the main points why having will use a gun would be nothing but a disservice to his character and his arc. and it's important to note that all these facts have been mentioned abundantly by others in the past,,, but there is something else that i don't think i've seen anyone mention ever, and that is the fact that will quite literally knows what being shot at is like. and i'm not talking about the lenora debacle with unknown hero agent man (where he was thankfully not hit).
i'm taking about that moment in s2 when the demodogs were being shot. and sure, during the hawkins lab siege, will was knocked out and it's unclear if he would've felt anything,,, but during the last sequence, with the party burning the tunnels and el closing the gates, hopper was shooting at dozens of demodogs whilst will was still connected to the mind flayer and thus, he certainly saw and felt everything the demodogs were going through.
(he might've even felt them (himself) die to the gunshot wounds.)
so yeah, i really don't like the idea of giving such a character a gun (which his father would've traumatised him with) and forcing him to kill things with bullets (a feeling he would know even if he's never been directly hit) just so he can look cool and wow other members of the party with how manly and austere he's become.
but i digress >.<

nightmare at green lake spoilers
it seems that identity is a theme for the event, how one perceives themself vs how one is perceived by others and some post-event thots
Blonney: has spent most of her pre-teen - present day trying to shed her arcanist side. the way she dresses, the topics and things she allows herself to seem interested in, and the people she chooses to surround herself with are all what 'normal people' her age 'should' be into. (like a metaphor for neurodivergency, comphet, or both) her denial is ultimately futile as she's still treated differently by her human peers and the audience can see that she still holds deep love for cheesy slasher movies. when she accepts her arcanist side, she reawakens her previously missing arcanum ability, but interesting enough, outside of Jessica, she's still going by 'Blonney' rather than 'Jennifer.' i figured with reclaiming her arcanist identity she'd go back to using her real name vs the name she goes by when she was trying to be as 'human' as possible. but it makes sense that you can't undo years of self-doubt with one life-changing event.
speaking of Jessica, her identity is based off of Jennifer's Best GirlTM - i'm only partially joking too. i'm not too sure if Jessica's ("see you later"/"but she's never actually 'seen' me) line meant Jennifer was 1) reading her stories to Jessica while Jessica was disguised as a deer or 2) reading her stories to the lake and speaking to her oc 'Jessica' and our Jessica was hiding and listening in. either way, our Jessica named herself after the heroine in Jennifer's story, salvaged Jennifer's storybook/diary from the bottom of the lake, then spent the next 10+ years using her arcanum ability (and leftover Zeno tech) to bring Jennifer's stories to life. Jessica was trying to be who she thought Jennifer wanted in her heroines: kind, gentle and sweet, with a hidden badass side (parrying the butcher's machete with a branch and then killing him with his own machete - just a tad bit overpowered jessica). outside of the shipping, i think part of why Jessica latched onto Jennifer so hard was that the 'Jessica' identity was the first one (unknowingly) given to her that she liked and welcomed vs other people seeing her and immediately calling her a freak. it takes Vertin for Jessica to see she could be more than 'Jessica the Last Girl' and 'Jessica the Monster'. i'm a little nervous about her getting recruited by the Foundation, esp with Madam Z's line about her arcanum ability being helpful for experiments, but if that means there's chances for her to show up in later patches or events...
(i'm assuming she was originally a regular critter living in the Green Lake area that Zeno experimented on? or maybe she was a regular deer they crossed with a critter to create a changeling? idk, her origins are ambiguous. the only thing we know for sure is that she was part of Zeno's experiments in the 60s-70s at the Green Lake base where they cultivated her arcanum ability as well as her ability to command lower-level critters. and when Zeno couldn't keep the experiments under wraps because too many critters escaped and damaged the nearby human town, they scrambled to dissemble the base and move to another site with Z's help. Jessica was left behind during the kerfuffle. then she spent years alone and misunderstood. man, her puppet play hit me hard)
i thought Z and Tooth Fairy's conversation at the end was p funny: neither of them really knew the 'truth' and were going off assumptions. Z believed the 'Tooth Fairy's brother lost all his teeth because he was cursed by tooth fairies as revenge for Tooth Fairy eating their brethren' story instead of the more boring truth: Tooth Fairy's brother had a congenital disease that caused tooth-loss. Tooth Fairy believed the 'Zeno Youth Force trapped in a nightmare horror and came back changed and violent' story Horropedia was peddling (which, i argue that she only partly believed because she'd get a shitton of loose teeth if the story were true and the thought of free teeth was too exciting to dig deeper into the story) instead of the aforementioned Zeno base shutdown.
it took me until the end of the damn event for me to realize what the 3 guy actors were referring to 😩
overall, i really enjoyed the event! even horropedia who was i expecting to annoy me as much as diggers did. i liked all the character interactions: Blonney and Horropedia play off each other well, of course Blonney and Jessica's cute moments. i wish there were more Tooth Fairy and Jessica interactions; i feel like the two could really relate to each other because of how misunderstood they are, but i'm pretty satisfied with Tooth Fairy asking Z if she could visit Jessica at the Foundation.
finally, blonney please come home soon bc i need to save for your deer gf OTL

What's your fave activity to do with Metal Sonic?
Tumblr media
Oho, I have a couple! I very much enjoy our hunting trips, when we head out to round up critters when my capsules need refilling. Sometimes we make a little game of who can startle them most when closing in on them! We love to see their fear. Because it doesn't matter if they try to run, they're no match for Metal Sonic's speed.
I also find great delight in unleashing him on my enemies. Just watching him tear them apart so easily like the badass little killing machine he is, it's such a thrill! So much violence, destruction, bloodshed and viscera - and so fast that it even surprises me sometimes. Ahh, it's so wonderful seeing my marvelous creation at work!
We always have a lot of fun together. Isn't that right, Metal Sonic?

Two Sides Redesign
Tumblr media
Name: Stein
Team: C
Info: The runt of the team. Despite being one of the shortest on the team he can really pack a punch on the battlefield. When the fight starts due to his speed he usually charges head on first taking on the first person he comes across. Plus with his cartoon logic it makes him hard to catch as well. He'll try to take a moment to help out his teammates when he can. He's on good terms with everyone on his team as well as a certain masked individual on the other team.
(Warning: Make sure to pat him down of any lighters, matches or anything used to make a fire.)
Plus I was just thinking of domination lines he would say against the other team since the AU gives TF2 vibes in general.
Dominating Gangle Lines - 'Who brings a hammer to a gun fight?' 'Sorry bout that pal.' 'Your THIS tall and you STILL can't catch tiny ol me?' 'Maybe if you actually had fingers this wouldn't have happened.' 'AW did someone's little mask break?' 'Without that mask your just a wholesome mopey marshmallow.'
Dominating Jax Lines - 'Silly Rabbit! Victory belongs to me! 'Yknow maybe brush your teeth every once in a while!' 'DOMINATED ya bomb weilding JERK!' 'Maybe I'll get a Rabbits Foot while I'm at it.' 'How does it feel to have your ego crushed for once?'
Dominating Zooble Lines - 'Are your critters ALWAYS this weak?' Ya just got scrambled more than a bunch of Legos.' 'Try not to always rely on yourself for once.' 'Did you bring a lunchbox or a box of sentient limbs to the battlefield?' 'Who brought a toy maker to the battlefield?' 'DOMINATED ya wind-up mix and match Lego piece!' 'Your head will make a perfect baseball holder.' 'Your critters may be cute but they were getting in my way.'
Queenie Domination Lines- 'You and Kinger look perfect for eachother!' 'Not so useful when you get up close and personal eh?' 'Try sniping that ya frickin coward!' 'You waited out the whole game for THIS?' 'Ey look it was a mercy kill, ya literally hide in your base the whole game!' 'You sure those eyes are real? Cuz it looks like you didn't see me coming!' 'How bout' I take that crown off your hands? Give it to someone who actually deserves it.' 'DOMINATED ya arrow shooting game piece!'
But seriously I had fun going back to redesign this chaotic goober
The creator of this badass au is made by @iguessimfished

Rocky Balboa as the prototype of Marcoh.
(Marcoh is also based on Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza, but I don't play the games)
I must say right away that I only watched the first movie and use a translator for this article, so I'm sorry.
A short biography of Rocky:
Rocky Balboa was the only child in an Italian-American family. Born on July 6, 1945. He studied with great diligence, so he wanted to become like his idol, Rocky Marciano. Forced to live on a small salary, participating in local club fights and unable to find work anywhere else, Rocky got a job as a collector for Tony Gazzo, a local loan shark, just to make ends meet. His nickname is "The Italian Stallion", which he invented for himself because of his Italian origin.
Similarities:
1. They are boxers and similar looks. (wow, curly hair and badass face expression)
2. Moral compass, kindness, morality.
Rocky collector, working for a loan shark, did not break the finger of a man who did not have enough money to pay off the debt, but he must do it. He is a great moralist, he even imposed on the girl (do not hang out with some group of teens, otherwise you will become a bad person in the future) even when he became famous, he did not deteriorate.
And Marcoh helped Olivia (a girl he barely knows) to bring a wheelchair from a dangerous city, he is also attentive to us as a true gentleman.
They both look formidable, but in fact they are kind people.
3. They are considered stupid.
Rocky Balboa was portrayed as stupid because he is uneducated. He didn't finish high school. His father told him: «You weren't born that smart, so you better start using your body» It is clear that he did not have the support to continue his education. Rocky was boxing. Also, it is used to show the difference between Apollo and Rocky Balboa. Rocky is a primitive animal, and Apollo is a genius. Rocky Dumb is used as the complete opposite of his girlfriend. She should be a smart and shy woman. Rocky should be a nice idiot. These polar opposites were supposed to fill in the gaps in their hearts.
When we attack Marcoh, can we insult him by saying «muscles take precedence over brains?» which is similar to the phrase of Rocky's father. Marcoh said «peace before the storm» instead of calm before the storm (Olivia corrected him) And he asked Olivia what an «atheist» was. This does not mean that he is stupid, just not quite knowledgeable.
Tumblr media
4. Shyness and quiet personality.
Rocky has said many times that he is shy.
Marcoh blushes when we approach him, he seems confused by our attention.
Tumblr media
5. Animal love.
Rocky named the turtles, happily barked with his dog and I still remember the phrase «birds are like little multicolored candies.»
Tumblr media
And Marcoh seems to like rats and frogs. (he has three whole partytalk, where he talked to frogs, said that rats are cute and «no little critters around?»)
Tumblr media
6. Religious.
What I saw from the screenshot of the second movie and in the first one there was a cross hanging over the bed.
Tumblr media
And Marcoh said that he prays All-mer sometimes in that partytalk.
Tumblr media
7. They trained on meat carcasses.
In the movie, Rocky was shown how he trained.
Tumblr media
Marcoh do the same, this was said in the prologue.
8. The motto is never to give up.
Rocky's quotes deserve special attention. Like popular: «It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!»
Oh, Marcoh's constant motivational phrases, sometimes out of place, even when they fell into a toilet, he was the only one who told the whole team not to give up.
Tumblr media
9. Finally, they are Italians and work with not the kindest bosses.
End of similarities list.
They are almost the same person but Rocky seemed to me little more emotional, Marcoh is calm almost always, Rocky too, but then Rocky has certain triggers for example when he was told to take his girlfriend on a date to the zoo or a moment of emotional breakdown with a coach. For Marcoh it was only a Bremen soldier «I saw a Bremen soldier and could not restrain myself punch him»
Many compare him to Jotaro kujo, but.
Tumblr media
I think Miro took Jotaro part 6 as a reference for the sprite.
Tumblr media
Rocky and Clint Eastwood (He is the prototype for Jotaro) are quiet heroes of the old time, using one-liners, therefore having similar vibes, but the archetypes are very different Clint Eastwood is a typical persistent guy the hero of a western and Rocky is a man who overcomes difficulties, going to the very end and inspiring.

The Arcana as Star Wars
sorry for my absence, life kinda put me on hold for writing anything for a good while. thankfully though I'll be able to start updating normally again; anyway, enjoy!
Julian - Han Solo
I mean, was there really anyone else to choose
daring cavalier type, charismatic, doesn't really jive with magic but goes along with it anyway
both are, um, criminals
would not be surprised if Julian somehow managed to do a Kissel run in twelve parsecs
Asra - Obi Wan Kanobi
once again, no contest here
mysterious, vague, mentor figure, has a bad habit of vanishing when the world needs them most
both oscillate between joking around & being somber and full of wisdom
it seems both had fallings out with their students at one point....that's rough buddy
Nadia - Padme Amidala
I'm not 100% about this one, but it's the best I got
I'll be honest, I've only watched one of the prequels all the way through so unfortunately I don't know as much about Padme as I would like
that being said, the things I do know about her resonate very well with Nadia
both were pressured/trained very early on in their lives to become rulers in some capacity, and continued to fight for their people after shit went sideways despite being deposed of their power in some cases
both are badass women with that kind of stern, royal composure that will put you six feet under if you cross them
both got with men who made some very morally questionable decisions and eventually turned evil
Muriel - Chewbacca
big, strong, and sweet with a bit of a silent streak
will judge you and call you out on your stupidity
both have been estranged via war from their people and families
I realize that this pairing is a little bit strange since Julian is Han, but I do know that Julian & Muriel teamed up in at least one of the routes so I say this counts
Portia - Peli Motto (the mechanic lady from the Mandalorian)
these are some spunky ladies!
jovial, down to gossip, enamored with cute critters
Portia may not be a mechanic but she definitely could be, and I imagine she'd be very good at it
both are huge busy bodies that have no problem bossing people around to get things done
will yell at you for being stupid
Lucio - Kylo Ren
anger issues™
both committed patricide wheeeeee
gets especially miffed when their authority is undermined
I think Kylo is the only sith to get a redemption arc so there's that
mommy/daddy issues™
dies oof lmao

what about VrisRezi?
VRISREZI:
Tumblr media
actually they are the queens of toxic yuri. they Invented toxic yuri they for sure wrote the toxic yuri handbook. seriously though these two are so complicated and messy and entangled with one another. like seriously how do these critters manage to slot into every single quadrant it is insane. also they're both badass women so essentially this is one of those ships that i cant help but have a soft spot for. the narrative shit around these two is so insane and they way they like constantly have this pull towards each other in basically every single universe that they're in.
i'd love to see some good soft content between the two of them sometime. vriska is so "All defenses up all the time" it'd be nice to see those emotional walls come down a little bit around terezi. i think alpha vriska needs to have some crying time. like we get it vriska feelings are stupid and people who have them are stupid now shut up and give your dragon girlfriend a hug.
