Look don't get me wrong, i love Regulus in fics finally being allowed to be feminine.

But just for once, i want James to be fem as well. Give me James painting his nails red and gold for the quidditch match, give me James in skirts and James not bothered by toxic masculinity, punching homophobes while wearing a dress

wtf is wrong with this fandom. the marauders fandom space used to be an accepting and safe space for creators and consumers to interact. i am so so deeply disappointed with this entire fandom for being toxic to the point where several authors feel the need to completely go off social media to recover. i will keep reiterating this. authors on ao3 owe you nothing. ao3 is a non-profit, meaning people write for themselves. if their work is not harmful, you do not get to demand anything. you don’t like it? no one cares. move on and don’t interact with it. that’s all. tumblr is also a platform for fandoms to interact. absolutely no one wants to hear your hate. you have your own hcs? keep it. just don’t, for the love of god, spread hate for absolutely no reason. let people live. for those of you who know exactly what you’ve done, i hope you guys are happy with yourselves.

Reading Crimson Rivers by Zeppazariel is an emotional rollercoaster. I have never cried reading a fic as much as I’ve cried while reading this! I knew going in that it was going to be sad and a really hard fic, cause The Hunger Games is a hard universe to live in, but man I am not ok.

This fic is taking me forever to read because I have to constantly take “happy breaks” something big will happen, I’ll cry about it, and then go scroll TikTok or watch a happy show. Like I am a mess!

Sometimes I think about how the Jegulus authors strike was started by an author who got hate for writing some weird ass shit about minors and overall creepy things and how that led to Zep leaving tumblr and it reminds me of an AITA post about a mom whose daughter didn’t want to wear the moms wedding dress so the mom burned it. I don’t know why but I think these are connected somehow.

just a friendly reminder for those being rude and demanding towards zeppazariel about crimson rivers, fanfic is SHARED with us. it is not written FOR us. fanfic isn’t monetised, zar doesn’t profit off this fic. he’s literally writing it because it’s something they WANT to write.

and to see people in this fandom disrespecting zar and all the work he puts in crimson rivers, is so incredibly disappointing especially because incidences like this in fandom are so tired. like is it really that hard to put something down if u don’t like it? if u get fomo for not reading CR, how tf is that zar’s problem? zar has already given us so many warnings and reassurances; he constantly goes above and beyond to ensure their fics are readable and enjoyable for everyone, but sometimes yous just need to understand that NOT EVERYTHING IS FOR YOU!!

and that is okay! it’s ao3! there are millions of fics u can read! u don’t want angst? don’t read fics where death, oppression, war, and loss are few of the overarching themes of the story. it really goes without saying.

what this demonstrates as well, is how younger people in fandom are expecting for ao3 to start functioning like tik tok (or like any algorithmic platform) and let me remind u, ao3 is an archive. it literally just stores literature — fics, poetry, short stories, etc. nobody on ao3 is making money for posting, so to expect ao3 to cater towards ur needs is so ridiculous. it really speaks to how brainwashed and chronically online everyone is, because ur all so used to having ur tl curated meticulously for ur personal enjoyment that u expect a single fanfic author, who’s a member of this fandom just like the rest of us, to do what big corporations do??? as if ur paying them??? be so serious rn

u all owe zar a massive apology, even if u don’t like CR (like a loser imo) and you’ll never read it again, that is not zar’s problem!

An Open Letter to bizzarestars

To bizzarestars (zeppazariel):

You are a talented author with great promise, but you are wasting your energy trying to stop people sharing your fics. Trading pdfs or files or copies of fanfiction is as old as fandom itself. I am so sorry, but you put your art out there and it is no longer under your control, that is the nature of creating art. So take it from someone who has created fics and accounts much bigger and older than you and then simply walked away, just log out. Make a new account, write under a new name, and leave the fans of your previous work to squabble about it as much as they want. It's more theirs now than yours anyway. Jump into a new fandom, try a new writing style, create and explore till your hearts content and remember if its ever too much, you can just drop the pieces and walk away. You owe them nothing. But trying to scrub it from the internet or control the narrative around it is only going to burn you out, and you deserve better than that. So wash you hands of it, pick yourself up, and go find something else that sparks joy. I wish you the best of luck.

Hey saw in the confession post ur getting started on Jegulus but don’t want to read ahb or crimson rivers bc they’re sad so I recommend ‘Just Lovers (like we were supposed to be)’ if you haven’t already read it.

it’s by bizarrestars/zeppazariel (author of CR) and it’s got a happy ending + it’s relatively light hearted and nice (I read it after ahb bc that shit wrecked me but in a good way).

oh also ‘only the brave’ by solmussa, it’s got angst and stuff but a happy ending.

YES!

To me, the doors in the epilogue represent every Jegulus fanfic written. I like the idea of being connected to a bunch of different authors and stories through the characters that we write and the worlds we create for them. They represent all the lives that have been created for Regulus and James, all the stories, all the wonderful experiences they can have in a universe where they find and love each other, however briefly.

Because of this, I imagined one of my favourite Jegulus fics, Best Friend's Brother by Zeppazariel (@zeppazariel) behind the brown door. I wanted them to go somewhere with a happy ending next, and Zar's writing in that fic is phenomenal. It was actually the first Jegulus fic I ever read! The way he writes Jegulus in that fic, and the ending of that fic is so sweet it made me cry and I wanted that next for Regulus and James. So that's what I was thinking of!

It doesn't have to be bfb behind that door, it's really open to interpretation. They can sort of go wherever they want. There are so many options and they have so many lives to live!!! (James would've picked a magic au if he had the chance btw i just know it. Regulus will probably let him pick the door next time ha) But I loved bfb so much, that's what I was thinking of when writing it. I started my Jegulus journey there, so I like to think of them starting their next story there. <3
