the air is misty as you leave the shower, steam fogged up the mirrors around you, clinging to each and every surface it could. with a frown, you realize you’d left your favorite lotion in your bedroom. clad in only comfy shorts, you make your way there.

sanzu is dozing on your bed, his bare back greeting you as he lays on his stomach. a pile of bloodied clothes sit near the closet — the same suit he’d been wearing that morning. with a thought, you forgo the lotion and make your way to him.

settling down on top of him gently, you hum in delight as your skin touches his. sanzu lets out a grunt only to relax a second later, welcoming your added weight happily.

sleepy, dream-filled eyes look around until they see you. you’re sitting on the counter as satan cooks, muttering about a book you’d just read. beelzebub is peeking over the blonde’s shoulder, eyes hungry and ravenous as he watches his brother make dinner.

“mornin’, kid! sleep well?” it’s mammon who spots him first. belphie only hums, feet tapping his way to you. he wraps his arms around your hips, nose nuzzling into your sternum as he yawns. mammon lets out a snort, “like we’re not even here…”

“wanted somethin’ sweet,” he’s teetering on the cusp of sleeping again, ignoring the howls and jokes his brothers make. he hears something about you being the sweetest thing in the house — not that he disagrees on that part. with a kiss to your neck, belphie is snoring once more as you run your fingers through his hair.

he was meant to be helping you pick out clothes. it was your date night — a weekly, mandatory thing he tried his best not to miss. but, kokonoi looked so pretty as he juggled between two shirts — two of his favorites that he loved to see on you. so, really, it wasn’t your fault.

“baby, how do you like—“ a yelp leaves his mouth the next second. you’d tugged him down gently by his shirt collar, a devilish grin on your lips that melts against his own. pants echo in your mouth ; his tongue sweeping against yours briefly before he pulls away. koko speaks through giggles, “wait… wait a minute. let me set these down.”

his cheeks are flushed as he puts your clothes back in the closet. you’re still eyeing him heavily, sweeping up every inch of him. kokonoi clears his throat before sitting beside you this time. that’s all you need before you’re diving in greedily once more.

asmodeous had a problem. many problems, really, but a certain one that irritated everyone else as well. he never knocked. true to his form, asmo welcomes himself into your room, a frown on glossed lips as he holds two sheet masks. “doll, do you think— didn’t know you guys were into that.”

solomon can’t help his grin, even as he rolls his eyes. a spell you’d been trying earlier almost backfired — could’ve backfired if he didn’t help in time. as a result, your vocal chords had been hit. his hand was around your throat, checking your lymph nodes and making sure everything was okay — that’s all.

you pull your chin down and away from solomon’s hand, your own cheshire grin forming at the comment. catching sight of the masks in asmo’s hands, you speak up. “we’ll invite you next time. go with the green one — it’s good for hydration.”

I need to talk about Cash Piggott and how important his character is to the asexual community.

I absolutely adore the fact that Cash calls people out on their acephobia and never, ever apologises for who he is. He doesn't think he's broken.

In season one, we see Darren say "you know what, I think there's something really fucking wrong with you, Cash," and Cash immediately, with no hesitation, screams "well fuck you then".

In season two, we see Dusty say that he's being selfish asking Darren to give up sex and he immediately stands up and says "fuck this" because he knows he doesn't have to listen to people making him feel bad about his sexuality.

And when he's talking to his nan about it, Cash says "it's not fair, I would do anything, why does it have to be the one thing I can't change about myself?"

In every single one of these scenes, we never see Heartbreak High blame Cash for his sexuality. We never see him apologise to anyone for not feeling sexual attraction, and we never see him feel guilty about it, or try to change who he is.

CA$H recognises that his sexuality might be difficult for people to accept and understand, but he never lets other people make him feel like he's broken, or flawed. And that's so powerful to see.

Because asexual people are not broken. And we can't be fixed. And we are not being selfish for putting in boundaries.

I absolutely adore Douglas Piggott. He means the world to me, and this representation is so, so important.

I don’t think allo people understand: you get everyone else. Almost every single fictional character is allo. Every character that exists is allo until proven aro/ace/aroace. So on that rare occasion when we actually get representation, and when it’s genuinely good representation, please just let us have it. Many allo people are respectful, and I thank them for that, but it’s impossible to ignore the massive problem in fandom culture of downplaying the importance of, or even downright erasing, an aro/ace/aroace characters’ identities. Aro characters are shipped all the time, which is fine if you understand the nuances of the identity and see that it is a complex thing to be aromantic, but I see a lot of people who don’t, and think that they can say ‘oh but aro people can date’ as an excuse to ship a character. This happens with ace characters too, they are sexualised in fandom all the time (I’m not talking about any characters specifically, but I’ll tag a few who come to mind). Again, this is understandable if you understand, but if you are sexualising an asexual character just because you find them hot or just for the sake of it, surely you understand why we are upset. This is not me trying to pick a fight, I’m just an aroace who is frustrated.

You guys get everyone else. Just let us have the few who we see ourselves in.

I love Rosie's and Alastor's dynamic.

Rosie 100% knows that Alastor is aroace. Romance is her thing. He doesn't have a single trace of it.

But Alastor doesn't because he simply doesn't know that it's a thing.

He thinks that other people are weird about sex and romance. It's such a simple and, in his opinion, dumb weakness. Easy to use for manipulation.

All this aroace character shipcourse has proven to me that a majority of people that interact in fandom cannot actually interact with characters and media outside of shipping and genuinely I believe you need to learn how to interact with media outside of shipping.

Okay let me talk about it.

Like everytime a character is canonized aroace people started to get annoying about it, shouting that aroace people can have relationships and if you are uncomfortable with them being shipped with another character you’re aro/ace-phobic.

Don’t get me wrong, they (we) can have relationships but I don’t think this is what people are uncomfortable about.

I personally think the problem is that you (generic person, not you reader) don’t really care that they are aroace. You don’t try to understand aromanticism or asexuality, you only use them to defend your ship.

What I’m saying is sure you can ship them, there’s no problem, but please at least try to understand it, try to talk to aroace people to know better the subject, most of all if you’re a fanfiction writer.

Sure, there’s aspec people too whose ship aroace characters, I’m not saying they don’t or that they shouldn’t, but I’m not talking about them now.

Not use the aroace spectrum just when it’s convenient to you, remember that it’s an important trait of the character.

Let’s not erase a sexual/romantic orientation that it’s so under represented and let’s use this “opportunity” to learn something more about aspectrum.

so, ship anyone you want, but try to contextualize it.

Hi hello hi. As an AroAce individual in a QPR who has no desire for a romantic or sexual relationship, I think shipping Alastor in QPRs is so so fun and people should do it more. I also think it works for a good amount if not all of the ships I've seen him in.

Alastor and Rosie: Hell yeah. They're already great friends and every interaction we've seen between them has been pure and adorable. Rosie Gently guiding Alastor through his identity because he isn't exactly up with the slang. Them going out for tea and human flesh Sunday afternoons. Them giving each other forehead kisses and holding hands platonically.

Alastor and Angle dust: Mhmm. Angle not really wanting Sex or romance after all he's been through. Angle respecting Alastor's identity and not pushing for anything more than friendship. Alastor not really liking Angle at first because of their differences, But tolerating him regardles. Alastor explaining to Angle that Romantic relationships don't have to involve Sex (I'm an Asexual Angle truther.) Angle offering Alastor a hug that Alastor reluctantly accepts. Them cuddling at night with a pinky Promise of nothing more.

Alastor and Vox: Go ahead. A fic about Alastor trying to Navigate exactly how he feels about Vox, Because when he died the term AroAce didn't exist, so he thinks it's romantic attraction, Maybe they kiss and Alastor is like "Ha! No!" Maybe that's why they had their falling out? Who knows.

Alastor and Lucifer: So So SO much Yes. (This is my personal favorite) The two of them hating each other, but putting up for each other for Charlie's sake. Slowly growing to actually tolerate and maybe even like being around the other. Exchanging snarky remarks in a more playful way. Alastor finding Lucifer sitting in a pile of ducks and despair and offering his hand to help him up and take him to the hotel. Never letting go of his hand. Fuck Enemies to Friends to Lovers I want an Enemies to Friends to Qpr arc goddamnit.

I do think it's okay to ship Alastor even outside of QPR's, BUT. If you do, don't just ignore Alastor's identity. AroAce people get far less representation than the rest of the LGBTQ+ community. I can think of one other canon Character off the top of my head. So it's not okay to erase the little rep we do get. In the end I think it's important to listen to what AroAce people have to say on the matter, it is our representation after all.
