i had the best day with you today.

jing yuan would act coyly about it, but you could pretty much tell that he definitely has a surprise up his sleeve; it’s something about his face, really. still, jing yuan never fails to deliver during your birthday— though he initially celebrated your birthday in a more grandiose manner at the start of your relationship, over the years it started to become more of a private affair shared between the both of you. he’d purposely ask fu xuan to take over his duties for the day so that he can spend more time with you. he enjoys seeing the look of shock on your face when he never fails to get you an item that you have been eyeing for the longest time yet never told him about it … jing yuan does have his ways.

blade never really understood the appeal of making a big fuss during birthdays — for an immortal like him who is simply waiting for the day he’ll finally rest, the thought of celebrating his birth is pretty ironic to him. however, he knows how much birthdays mean to you, so he (begrudgingly) enlists the help of the stellaron hunters for advice. both silver wolf and kafka have polar opposites of ideas, so ultimately, blade doesn’t follow either of their inputs; in the end, he asks you himself on what you want for your birthday, and plans a small surprise accordingly. oh! and also, he’d be big on acts of service during your birthday.

dan heng’s a little worried about messing up on your birthday, so the astral express is heavily involved in putting up a celebration for you. he also took way too long in picking out a gift for you. birthdays with the astral express is always explosive and fun, and dan heng initially thinks this is what you might want — though as the day comes to a close, the two of you end up retreating back into the archives in private. dan heng wonders why you prefer to spend your time with him, to which you just tell him that you won’t have it any other way. initially embarrassed by it, he then gifts you a small journal where he penned down all of things he likes about you. you then ask him to read it to you as you dwindle down, his soft and gentle voice slowly lulling you to sleep.

gepard definitely pulls out all the stops — he wants your birthday to be close to perfect as possible. he asks serval’s help a lot, who only chuckles at his frenzy and tells him that whatever he does for your birthday, you’d definitely love. gepard does not find this advice amusing at all, and may end up overplanning that a lot of things end up not going his way. so when you suggested on do something spontaneous instead whether it be catch a fleeting street performance or even taking part in the underworld’s fighting ring (though gepard is very much concerned about that), it becomes the perfect birthday celebration for you. gepard also gifts you red roses he’s grown himself (courtesy to pela for keeping them alive).

accuracy is something really important to me when i'm writing so if you think it was accurate then i'm so glad

and i'm so excited for a nagito request i haven't gotten one in a while

byakuya is not the type to nag you to tell him what's going on

he's such a "sit in comfortable silence" type of guy

because of your social anxiety, combined with his general aversion to people, the two of you don't go out often

he is perfectly content with you entertaining each other in your own home

but some times you can't avoid going out. errands and all that jazz

and usually he would go by himself and let you stay home, but this time he really needed your help with what he was doing

he knows how being around lots of people affects you, and while he can't relate, he can sort of imagine how it feels. you're afraid of people, he is annoyed by them. so you both kind of have something in common: you love avoiding social situations

anyway, when you're in public he always makes sure to stand near you and never lets the two of you get separated

if you were to end up separated, he would internally panic

one of the only times he ever experiences genuine anxiety: when you are left alone in a stressful environment

it took a long time to get you to open up to him. not that he was trying, he preferred to let it happen naturally so it was genuine.

and he is so glad you did because now he knows what kind of situations to avoid, and he is perfectly content with being a social hermit

nagito likes(?) being around certain people generally, but he also doesn't mind being alone, so wherever you go, he goes, and if you want to be a hermit, he wants to be a hermit

it was actually really easy for you to open up to him purely because he is so self-deprecating that there was no way he would judge you for anything

from time to time he will encourage you to go out and face your fear because yknow, it's the hopeful thing to do. then he'll apologize because you probably don't want advice from a lowlife like him (his words not mine)

anyway, when you two go out he's never afraid to hold your hand or bring you close to him

(i think nagito is so old fashioned in the way that he feels modern flirting and stuff can be too offensive or disrespectful so he likes to court ppl he is attracted to. we need to bring back courting pls)

so in public he generally has his hand on the small of your back, or intertwined in yours, wherever you want it to be

he's so damn intuitive. if he ever notices you are uncomfortable in a certain environment (and he will always notice), he will find a way to get out of there

kokichi is a very free spirit, you can't tie him down

he's always ready to go out and do things

being around people is his thing, he's hella extroverted

so he's always begging you to do things with him, and he just can't grasp how you are so anxious around people

he asked you why because he was genuinely trying to understand, and at first you wouldn't really talk about it, so he gave up

it might seem like he's annoyed about it sometimes, but he's just adjusting to being with someone who lives a lifestyle so different to his

eventually he will come around. and, like nagito, he will encourage you to go out and fight off that social anxiety

he often invites friends over so you can socialize in a comfortable environment and get used to the presence of others

when you two go out and you worry you're being stared at, he'll purposely do silly things to embarrass himself and take the attention off you. he's such a goof

and if he notices you're getting uncomfortable, he will get you out of there, find someplace quiet, and make sure you're okay. he'll also give you a ton of kisses!

and if for some reason any person is ever bothering you more than usual, he'll weird them out by barking or some shit so they'll go away (he would literally do this don't tell me he wouldn't)

It's honestly bonkers to me how much tristamp changes Thematically about the story, like every driving factor for the characters/overall story is so completely different in a way that I'm like...unsure if I've ever seen an adaptation Do. I know ppl like to say like, oh it's actually a pretty faithful adaptation bc it references xyz little manga thing, and. Nah man. The same Things can happen and characters can have more or less the same Deal and Traits but if their motivations are different it's still going to be a completely different story.

Like, okay, take the GHGs- in trimax, they're a ragtag group working with Knives (mostly, rip midvalley lol) by choice all with their own reasons, and they're all outcasts of some kind as well. This meshes with the overall theme of this world being a harsh one that is unforgiving to outcasts, and how violence is the easiest way to take that power back (also backed up by Vash's pacifism leaving him riddled with scars). Meanwhile in tristamp the GHGs are all human experiments made by Knives and forced to go after Vash. In this story, he is someone who takes what was done to him and does it to others, and uses this to get what he wants- he does it to the humans he employs and he does it to the dependent plants at the end of the season. Meanwhile, trimax Knives makes alliances (however uneven and uneasy) with both humans (GHGs) and plants (he doesnt force the plants to fuse with him, he asks for their help) . These are!! COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTERS

Vash is cold as a child (and this is what keeps him from ending up like Knives) and is as powerful if not more powerful than Knives in trimax, whereas in Tristamp he's an underdog immediately who doesn't live up to the expectations of his species and is drawn to humanity through that. Livios story in the manga is about being failed so repeatedly that a Murder Cult is his best option, whereas in tristamp it's about trying to protect and preserve the family he's found for himself. Elendira goes from being a trusted and powerful ally of Knives who is again, like all of the GHGs, a notable outcast (her transness is commented on many times much to her dismay) to ....a manifestation of Knives obsession with his trauma as a recreation of Tesla. They all have the same names and same concepts going into them but are fundentally so deeply different because of what their stories are About

And I'm not trying to say "tristamp is BAD because it's DIFFERENT". I'm sure u can infer i have a Preference here but what I'm trying to say is, these are apples and oranges that are both called oranges, and if you bite into both of them expecting them both to be oranges you will be disappointed (haha orange joke, haha apple jo-) I've seen a lot of people try to read/interpet Trimax through the lens of Tristamp and come out confused or just....wrong??? About a lot of things, or decide the issues they're facing w it are because Nightow is, idk, a bad author or something (stop this please i beg). If you really want to analyze these stories you truly cannot do it from within the framework of the other

Here I am back on my John Marston BS.

I pointed this out before ab how ppl loved calling John “watered down” but I’m also seeing people forget that he was also put on a very high fucking pedestal and had no idea how to handle it. In other words; he was the gifted kid who got burnt out after everyone expected everything from him. John never expected to be seen as such. He actually preferred to not be held to such a degree. I’m sick and tired of people feeding into the “John’s a golden boy” “John’s a piece of shit” narrative. Clearly these people have only seen RDR2 and have no clue about everything in RDR1 and yes I’m giving an attitude so y’all better catch it.

Here’s my John Marston character analysis and this is only about one aspect of him. (Wait until you see every other aspect bc I’ve literally dissected this man like a frog oops)

He never fucking asked for it. In fact, he didn’t expect jack shit from anybody. If anything, people used him. People used him up. You see it plainly in rdr1, he’s being used to hunt down his old partners. To find his old partners he’s gotta ask the sheriff, what does the sheriff do? He uses him to handle some lowlife gangs around the county. The sheriff ACCIDENTALLY—not even voluntarily—reveals someone that ends up somewhat helping him out. West Dickens—and what does he do? Uses him. Seth? Uses him. Travels over to another country, what do they do? USE HIM!

Okay, so rdr2—if you couldn’t get the picture already—John was one of Dutch’s MAIN PAWNS. That man raised John to USE HIM. John was young and had lots of energy and he was gullible enough to let Dutch do whatever with his naivety. The most fucked up thing about all of it, not only about how (almost) everyone saw him as a pawn, not as a genuine friend, saw him only for his uses;

John didn’t care. He knew he was being used but he didn’t care. Yes it bothers him and again he’s fully aware he’s being ran around in circles by all these people; it doesn’t matter. He sees himself as someone who is replaceable. He’s expendable. It’s whatever. He was always made to think this and perhaps he knew that it was his fate to be all used up and thrown out like it was nothing. And that’s what ended up happening.

No, he wasn’t a perfect father. He SHOULDVE done much much better about that. Just for that I let anti’s breathe a little because in Jack’s younger years, hell no John wasn’t a good father! John was in denial, busy trying to live up to his dreams of being someone he isn’t. On that note, John slowly realized that Abigail and Jack were probably the only ones that didn’t see him as a pawn; they just wanted him to be present and that causes him to do a 180. To him, it was worth dying for them. Maybe he felt as if he owed them a debt that could never be repayed—it’s almost like he expresses this to Jack a dozen different times. “I’m sorry, Son. I’m not going anywhere.” And “I know I wasn’t around a lot for you but I’m trying to make up for that”. He becomes viscerally aware of the damage of his absence (as he should) and it becomes something he fears he’ll never get to make up for.

Abigail never wanted to use him. She just wanted HIM. Jack—OF COURSE never wanted to use him, he wanted a FATHER. Honorable mention, but Arthur never saw him as a pawn either. In fact, he was well aware of how John was being treated, even mentioning it to him canonically, along the lines of, and I’m loosely quoting this, “At first you’ll be a prize pony until you become a work horse”. These people become so important to John—among others such as Bonnie, Charles, Sadie, even Uncle—because they never tried to use. him. John was more than expendable to them, he was worth something to them and for that he loved them and felt as if he would owe them for eternity.

I truly can’t believe some of y’all completely miss that whole point because it’s written EVERYWHERE it’s literally how John’s story goes and we experience it with him. His story is so fucking tragic and yes, while Arthur was the prime example of “having a doomed narrative from the start”, people don’t talk about how John is literally in the same boat. That man was always doomed, by his friends, the people he would try to call family—he was raised all the way up just to be put down…. THAT’S the story of John fucking Marston.

-Pandora is a Hufflepuff which does not bode well for her family so Evan gets easily angered/protective if anyone even insinuates something derogatory about her being a Hufflepuff

-Evan and Regulus were friends first, meeting at a weird pureblood party and being attached at the hip since, during said party, Pandora took a liking to Bellatrix

-Someone has to explicitly tell Regulus he's coming to a hangout or else he won't show up, usually it's Barty

-Pandora and Evan are very precise about being on time

-Barty likes to spin them when they hug, and Regulus acts like he hates it (he doesn't)

-Evan is the tallest and Pandora is the shortest

-Dorcas has the best and most versatile singing, whatever you want she got it

-Evan is the one that has the most oversized clothes so everyone would casually snag a shirt or jumper here and there, it got to the point where people were questioning if his relationship with Barty was actually exclusive (that is if they were even dating or just fwb, they actually were but wheres the fun in that??), and Barty fueled the rumors by excessively flirting with everyone, Dorcas even played into it for shits and giggles. James and Lily held back on asking Regulus and Pandora out because of it, which Evan found hilarious

-For the twins' birthday, Barty, Dorcas, and Regulus made two flower crowns (through much trial and error) with only roses, Scottish green roses for Pandora and simple white roses for Evan

-Every time the Blacks and Rosiers are at the same pureblood event, Regulus makes a beeline for Evan

-Evan had a bit of a hard time accepting Regulus' relationship with James because he felt as if James wouldn't hesitate to leave Regulus over anything at any given time. it was only after hanging out with the Marauders for some time that he finally understood that wasn't the case

-Barty and Dorcas got their first tattoo together while drunk off their ass

-Dorcas likes to shorten their names for fun, Regulus is Reg, Pandora is Pan, Evan is Ev, and Barty is just Bart but he later made her change it so now it's BB, which Regulus doesn't think is much better

-Pandora would give her many rings to Dorcas and Regulus because steers them away from skin-picking

-Dance parties but it’s just them

-Sneaking out during the night and hanging out on rooftops and racing on brooms and intense gossip sessions

-Regulus knows about people’s drama before meeting them because Dorcas and Barty always forces everyone (Reg, Pan, and Ev) to listen to the shit about everyone

-Dorcas has the cutest outfits, and is definitely the best dressed in the group

-They are all pretty touchy with each other, kisses on the cheek, hugs that go on forever, handholding etc, especially Barty, though everyone understands not to do headpats on Reg or ruffle his hair (that’s reserved for Sirius)

-Pandora can get really aggressive when angry and often says things she doesn’t mean, she later apologizes though and they all learn to not take what she says when angry to heart

-Dorcas’ preferred method of anger is the silent treatment, idk it just fits

-Regulus prefers extreme temperatures, takes burning hot showers, drinks water that’s 80% ice, drinks tea with water straight from the kettle, he hates anything warm, so with that, he also hates cake because of it. To fix this, they all tried making ice cream cake, which came out as a disaster so when he found them he helped clean up the mess and Dorcas snuck off to buy one

-They never use magic when cleaning, Dorcas thinks it’s a good hangout time and thus makes them put their wands away and they play music and dance when cleaning

-Barty comes up with insane muggle theories and Dorcas fuels then knowing full well they are complete bs

-Dorcas loves drawing or painting Pandora, there is just something so mystical about her that makes the artwork so much more beautiful

-Barty and Regulus would bicker or argue in French and Italian respectively, Dorcas would throw in Spanish for shits and giggles

-They get weirdly sentimental during the night and they all agree to never speak about it the next morning

-Barty developed a habit of curling up on Reg’s lap when he’s crying or just upset in general and Evan would just run his fingers through his hair, Dorcas would just hold hand his hand, and Pan would comfort him verbally or talk about something to take his mind off it

-Dorcas gets the most expensive gifts from them

-Dorcas is very passionate about jewelry and will go on hour long talks about them, Evan listens very intently and takes mental notes

-Pandora actually has a box, a very decorative box she painted herself filled with photos, handmade jewelry, gifts, artwork, and letters all collected through the years

-Evan has a tendency of staring intensely at people talking to Pandora in an overly friendly or rude way (she knows he’s doing it)

-Since a portion of Regulus' hair is naturally blond (a hc of mine lol) Barty insisted that he dye it green for quidditch

-Barty has the hardest punch only because they wear rings but Dorcas can and will hit harder with her bare fist

-Regulus and Evan aren't ones for physical altercations, they prefer verbal attacks that are personal, these guys will burn down your family tree with their words alone and without any hesitation

-Pandora is very noticeable with her very colorful wardrobe, so at a party, Evan and Regulus always keep an eye out for bright splashes of pastels dresses within hoards of dark fabrics

-Pandora wears lots of jewelry and her presence is often noticed by the small sounds of bracelets clinking together

-They own a black snake that Dorcas just one day picked up and never let go, her name is Victoria, and she just hangs around

-Regulus does embroidery and has embroidered a personal handkerchief for everyone with their initials, Barty doesn't use his but instead keeps it as an accessory that is a prop for his dramatics

-Barty keeps a photobook filled with photos that he takes on a muggle camera, some of the photos he pins onto the curtain of his bed

-In fact, Barty keeps his bed oddly decorated, photos pinned into the curtains, strings of beads hanging on the top corners of the beds, stickers, and stuffed animals that Pandora and Regulus make, his bed is never clean

CHAPTER TEN • INTO THE DARK (1.8k)

Minho helps you feed the stray cat. It runs up to him, rubbing against his leg affectionately, ignoring you completely. Placing the dish down, you look around at the surrounding woods. You had to go a bit deeper into them than usual to find the cat, which tends to reside near the tree line. It was getting colder, and the lack of light in the woods wasn't helping.

"Here, take this." Minho takes his sweater off and hands it to you, leaving him in just a t-shirt. Goosebumps immediately grew over his arms. "You're shivering."

Shaking your head, you pick up the now empty food dish. "No, you're cold too. We'll be back soon anyway."

He stares at you, hand outstretched, but eventually gives up. "Suit yourself."

Back at the house, you turn the heat up before settling in the living room. Minho had gone to shower, leaving you alone in your thoughts.

Did the universe expect you to go back to your old apartment, or was Yeonjun supposed to be coming here? There was no way for either of you to contact each other and even if there was, you didn't know if you could. You'd been forcing yourself to feel okay about potentially seeing him again and everything that's been leading up to it, but honestly, you were far from okay. The visions had scared you. The feeling of his hands on you again, the look in his eyes, his words...

"You okay?" The sound of someone else speaking breaks you out of your trance, and you turn your head toward Minho. He's leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed and head tilted forward with raised eyebrows covered slightly by his still wet hair.

...he looks really good.

"Yeah, just... thinking," you fake a small smile. "Have you had any of these visions? Or dreams?"

"No," he shakes his head.

"Oh."

Thinking about Chan and Jeongin, you wonder about this. Of course, Jeongin had only gotten anything because you asked him for it, but then he also already knew about Chan. What else was he not telling you? Maybe you should try to contact him, the warning about Mrs. Yang had frightened you.

Pushing off the wall, Minho takes a seat next to you, placing a hand on your knee. "You know you can talk to me."

"Can I?" Your voice breaks, embarrassing you. "A year can change so much. What if- what if we can't be what we used to be? I used to rely on you so much, but now I can barely look at your face without being reminded of everything that went down."

Taking in your words, Minho moves his hand off your knee and into your palm, interlocking your fingers. "Then we become something new. May I remind you I still don't know exactly what went down? That was all Yeji."

"She... never told you?"

"Nope," he sighs heavily. "Never thought I'd admit this, but I practically begged her to tell me what happened to you and where you were. All I knew was that Yeonjun was furious, although he didn't show it outright. He stuck to playing the part of the worried-sick-fiance." Minho scowls, using a mocking tone. "'My poor Y/n, wherever could she be! By the way, this totally wasn't my fault, I couldn't even hurt a fly much less my beautiful soon-to-be wife!'"

You giggle a bit at his impression and he smiles, watching your face light up. Making you laugh felt like a reward.

"He was so full of shit. I don't get why you stayed with him."

Just like that, your laughter stops.

"Haven't we been over this?" You steal your hand back, using it to rub your forehead.

"I just don't understand-"

"Yeah, and you probably never fucking will!" You sit up, legs swinging off the couch out of frustration. "If I broke up with him, we wouldn't be having this conversation. If I broke up with him, you wouldn't have been attending my wedding, you would have attended my funeral."

The words linger in between you, stinging Minho like a slap to the face. Of course he knew the relationship was toxic, but never did he think it would have come to that. If he did, he'd be behind bars right now. Fuck the USB, fuck Chan, fuck the universe. He's never letting you anywhere near Yeonjun again. As long as you're safe, who cares what it costs? The world could be burning to an ash and all Minho would want to do was get you off planet Earth, even if he couldn't come with.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know," he says finally, slowly, carefully.

"Nobody did," you look away from him, down at the floor. There are miles and miles between you then and you now, the person he knew and what she was willing to say. "Except Yeji."

Yeji.

"Min, I wanna try something. Get off the couch." You start stretching out before he can respond, reaching over to grab your long forgotten headphones off the coffee table.

"What's your idea?" He takes a seat in the chair beside you.

"So when Jeongin went into that little psychic trance of his, he closed his eyes I'm guessing to help him envision his surroundings and focus better-" You adjust yourself better, sitting the headphones above your ears. "-obviously I'm not him and don't have the same abilities, but what if I try to remember the place it took me to? The headphones aren't necessary, but they're noise cancelling so I thought it might help."

Minho looks like he wants to protest, but holds back any thoughts.

"If I get into enough of a relaxed state," you continue when he says nothing. "Maybe I'll find it. It might be the only way to save Chan." You take a deep breath. "And Yeji."

"You really think Yeji is a part of this too?"

"Well it had her there and could mimic her voice, so yeah." You roll your eyes.

Leaning back in the chair, Minho rolls his eyes even more dramatically at you. "It could just be able to do that."

"There's only one way to find out."

And with that, you put on the headphones.

Immediately the world around you is muffled, no longer able to hear Minho shifting in the chair or the wind whistling through the old bones of the house. Outside, the sun has already begun to come down, soon it will be dark. With your eyes closed and hearing limited, your other senses come in stronger. You can smell your shampoo wafting off Minho, feel the bumps form on your skin as the chill sets in.

Still too early to turn on the heat, you think.

Trying to clear your mind, you focus on your breathing. In, out. In, out. In, out. Breaths become deeper, heartrate slowing. At one point, your mind wanders to thoughts of Chan. What's he doing right now? Is he alright? Why hasn't he texted you? When will you get the opportunity to correct your missed kiss-

Hey brain, you think, focus on the mission, you already know you're not emotionally available enough for someone like him, so stop it.

Back to your breathing.

Enough time passes to have you considering this isn't going to work. Why did you think it would in the first place? You said it yourself, you don't have 'abilities' like Jeongin does. Never have, never will. And besides, even if it did work, what would you do? You can't force this thing to give you information; it has the upper hand and knows it does.

"Okay, screw this," you open your eyes, but all you see is black.

It worked. But now what?

"Hello?" You call out, voice echoing. "Um, anyone home?"

Not that this place felt very... homey.

You begin to walk, eyes adjusting. Looking down, you realize you're walking in water just like Jeongin mentioned, but it just barely covers your toes. Reaching to the right, your hand finds a wall close to you. The left side is the same; you're in some kind of corridor. Walking further, your left hand grazes a dip in the wall; no, a door. You squint, noticing a few more doors on either side further down before they're consumed again by the darkness.

Wrapping your cold fingers around the knob, you push. The door is stiff and hard to open, taking a few full-body pushes before you can squeeze inside. Air races past, through your hair and the door. Inside, the walls curve to a circle, a very dim white light coming up from the edges of the water. In the middle, you spot what looks like a dentist's chair turned away from you. The top of someone's head pokes out the top, wires hanging down from the ceiling- or lack thereof, when you look up, it never seems to end- and down to their body.

Slowly, you approach the chair, gasping when you see who it is.

"Oh, Chan," you whisper, tears brimming. There are deep circles under his eyes, and the wires appear to go into his neck harshly, all red and swollen around where they enter. His lips are chapped, skin nearing translucent.

Touching his skin, it's colder than your fingers and a bit rough. His mouth is parted ever so slightly, breathing shallowly. He's dressed in all white; a t-shirt tucked into smooth pants. It's weird seeing him like this.

But you know you can't stay. This isn't why you're here.

Moving on from Chan's room, you open each door as you go, starting with the one directly across from his. You barely recognize the girl in the chair as you've only met on a few occasions; Lily.

In the next few rooms, you find a mix of people you do and don't recognize, Jeongin and Yeji being some of them. Resisting the urge to stay by their sides is difficult, you need to keep going, find the thing keeping them all here. Finally, you reach the end, the last door.

The door stretches its way into the never-ending ceiling, the knob particularly stubborn. This room is bigger than the others have been, and you spot two chairs facing each other in the dim lighting. Inside are you and your ex, Yeonjun.

"What the actual fuck," you breathe, trying to control the rising panic in your throat.

Just like the others, you both have wires connecting into your necks and look physically unwell. The only difference is that you're together, and there's another line stuck into your forearms, connecting you.

You start to have the feeling you need to leave. Now.

And that's when you hear it; distant whispering growing louder and louder, chanting the same sentence over and over again.

"You're not supposed to be in here."

How Dwayne Flirts

Very slow to introduce himself

Seriously

It takes at least a week

In that week he spends most his time watching you

And for the weeks/months it takes until your living in the cave

He doesn’t mean to stalk you, but he does

Like at first he’s just following you around the boardwalk, but then you go home early one night

He wants to make sure you arrive safely and once you do he’s curious to see how you act alone

He’s not a creep or anything; if you’re not dating him and you change your clothes or do something that feels too personal he looks away

Eventually after you’ve been dating awhile and you know he’s a vampire he’s gonna tell you about the stalking

But he’ll be genuinely confused if it freaks you out

“I was just keeping you safe darling”

Enough about that though

When he does speak to you, it’s after he notices that you’ve been looking at him and getting flustered when he catches you

He comes over and introduces himself, but lets you lead the conversation

What he does next depends on where you are and you’re vibes

If he ends up not actually liking you he does some pick up lines and cheesy flirting until he can get you alone and feast

On the other hand, you manage to make him actually stay interested? Well now getting together is his number one priority !

Boardwalk

If you’re more extroverted he lets you ask most the questions ppl say when meeting

“Where you from?” “What do you do for fun?” Etc.

He’d ask if you wanted to go to the concert or to meet his friends

He’s already noticed where you tend to go on the boardwalk and suggest those places to impress/ interest you

For an introverted person, he’ll think of one on one things to keep you comfy

Probably a bike ride so you’ll hold him w/o having to ask

Other options would be riding attractions, getting food from a stall and chatting, just walking around together, or if you seem comfortable enough he’ll show you the cave

Might ask the boys to stay back for a bit, then has to block out teasing comments in his head until he sees them again

He does a lot of little things, like paying for food or rides, holding doors, wiping food w/ a napkin, helping you on/off the bike etc.

Tries to be a full gentleman the entire time

Shop

You both go to buy or in his case steal the same thing

Or he sees you struggling to reach/ pick up something and helps

You make introductions and he carries your stuff as you walk around the store

He pays for your things & holds the door when you leave

Again he suggest activities based on your personality

Restaurant

He’s on a food run and sees you searching through your wallet/purse/bag for change

Steps up and pays whatever you hadn’t yet and places his order

Sits next to you and lets you lead the conversation while you two wait for food

When it’s ready, offers for you to come back to the cave and eat with them bc he wants to keep talking

If you say no then he’ll walk you out of the store and to your car or home if you’re walking

“Can I see you again sometime? Preferably when we don’t have to rush food home?”

If you say yes then he makes plans based off your vibe

Surprisingly chill if you say no

He’s not gonna stop stalking you, and after a little bit “bumps into you” again and puts on his full charm trying to sway you

If you’re still not interested then he does his best to move on

Defending You

Sees you looking uncomfortable around a group of Surf Nazis and steps in

Scares them off

Eats them later

Tells you not to thank him bc it’s “the decent thing to do”

If you want to repay the favor, he lets you buy him something from a food stall, as long as it’s cheap

Offers to hangout with you in case the surf nazis come back

Again based on your personality he chooses an activity

For all of these situations he is very gentlemanly and polite, later in the night he does light teasing once your both comfortable

Some people could mistake his flirting for just being nice, and that’s on purpose

If he or you ends up not into it he can just pretend he was being nice for no reason

After you establish a friendship he keeps doing Acts of Service and getting one on one time with you

Teaches you to skateboard if he thinks it could become serious between you two

It’s EXTREMELY important that you get along with Laddie & the boys

If you don’t get along with Star he’ll be a bit bummed, but it’s not a deal breaker

Author Note for fic - 2012 TMNT interpretation

This was kind of long for the Author Note of Chapter 3, so I’m placing it here instead. So, I don’t mean to do any bashing on “The Eldest Brother” fic, this is just some analysis / my interpretation on the TMNT 2012 circumstances.

Leo is a fan of Space Heroes, a series which often shows the captain “calming down” the junior by slapping him (uses physical violence as comedy relief). For someone that didn’t leave the sewers in fifteen years, they only have Splinter and the media to learn and imitate. He’s not being purposely mean, he just doesn’t know better.

Splinter struggles to separate Sensei role and Parent role. He often ends up mixing them up, which makes it hard for his sons to confide in him on certain things, so he is shown often giving the first step to help with what he sees his sons need. Like talking with Donnie in the Metal Head episode, with Leo about fighting unfairly to win, and Raph about ignoring the insults instead of letting them make him angry. This, of course, means that if he doesn’t notice something, the issue is not addressed or resolved.

Mikey is the family baby (and has ADHD, you can pry this from my cold, dead hands) and that comes with: Babying, doubting his capabilities regardless of how many times he proves them wrong (he probably can’t stay still/be silent/ concentrate. Better be the bait instead of ambushing the enemy) considering him too distracted/childish to be trusted with dangerous or difficult stuff. The brothers’ default response for his ideas/opinions is, often, to dismiss them. Probably they don’t even realize how mean this can be at times, and even Splinter seems to think Mikey is childish/an airhead, so… yeah. Not resolved, at least at this point of time (S1 2012 series).

Donnie is expected to know everything, create anything, repair everything, to the point where he gets scolded when he doesn’t know something. “Why didn’t you tell me they had shields??” “Because I wanted us to fail. OBVIOUSLY I DIDN’T KNOW!” And although he has accepted the role and does so for his family, I think he’d not be too keen on working for others not close to him, hence the reluctance to make a Tphone for Rise!Raph, this stranger that claims to be another version of his brother but acts nothing like him. He’d probably not have this issue if it had been Rise!Mikey landing on their world. Too similar to be anything but the baby bro~

And 2012 Raph, much like his Rise!counterpart, prefers to turn difficult emotions into anger, and loves and wants to protect his family the best he can. He’s a little hothead and can be quick to jump to conclusions, but that’s expected for most teens in general, if you ask me. Again, not resolved, at least at this point of time (S1 2012 series) but he does get some character growth later on from what I’ve been told. I haven’t watched anything after S1 2012.

Anyway, I usually don’t rant this much in the AN of my fics, but the TMNT fandom scares me (the 2012 vs 2018 discussions can get real mean), so I’d rather “justify” things here than go individually in the comments. Circumstances for each TMNT version are different… please don’t insult ppl if they like one version more than the other, and, is ok to be able to criticize the ‘flaws’ of each show and still like them.

steve & physical affection

robin: steve is probably the most affectionate with robin with other people around. they hold hands, play with each others hair (only robin and eddie can touch steve’s hair), always sit next to each other, cuddle at night (holding the other through nightmares), use the other as a pillow, etc.

since most people in Hawkins think they are dating, no one questions how touchy they are and they accidentally become the town couple. girlfriends ask their boyfriends why they don’t show them as much affection as steve does to robin, housewives sigh and dream about what could’ve been- and one actually leaves her husband and thanks stobin for helping her realize she deserves better (they’re extremely confused but very happy for her). everyone in the Party & co. knows ppl think they are dating except for steve and robin who are completely oblivious to it. they all think it’s hilarious

eddie: while he is the go-to person when robin isn’t around, steve also just likes being close to/held by someone his height/taller (eddie wears platform boots for a reason). he likes to play with eddie’s hands and trace his tattoos, and likes to sit next to eddie and just feel the solid weight of him. his shoulders easily become steve’s favorite headrest/pillow. when they sit across from each other, they usually end up interlocking their legs or just kicking at each other like kids (they’re idiots /affectionate)

steve is the only person eddie lets touch his hair because he knows that steve Gets It. steve feels weirdly honored and definitely does not tear up when eddie tells him, no sir. he loves brushing eddie’s hair and braiding it, and it makes eddie feel pampered so he does it a lot

once they start dating eddie likes to use steve’s lap as a pillow and steve will play with eddie’s hair and press kisses all over his face (eddie swears steve’s thighs are better than any expensive pillow)

when he notices steve start panicking or disassociating, eddie will grip the back of his neck in order to ground him. he’ll run his hand through the hair at steve’s nape and talk about his day or what to have for dinner in order to distract steve from his thoughts

when the same happens to eddie, steve will pull eddie to his chest, hold him really tight (the pressure helps eddie) and whisper assurances (i’m okay, you’re okay, we’re safe, etc.) while rubbing his back

their favorite way to sleep is with steve on his back, eddie half on top of him using his chest as a pillow, and steve’s arms looped around eddie’s shoulders

steve can’t be held without feeling claustrophobic and he prefers holding onto someone rather than being held anyway (aka he’s the big spoon). eddie is the opposite and prefers to be held so it works out perfectly. steve basically uses eddie as a human teddy bear and eddie loves it.

they kiss each others scars ofc

steve loves hugging eddie from behind in the middle of conversations, just wrapping his arms around eddie and hooking his chin over his shoulder randomly (eddie doesn’t even react anymore, just continues the conversation like nothing happened)

similarly when either of them need to recharge they just walk up to the other and drop their head on the other’s shoulder. the other is then obligated to hide them from people who want to talk to them

during hellfire campaigns steve will sit on eddie’s throne and eddie will sit on his lap so steve can hug him and watch the game over his shoulder. once he learns more about D&D he offers eddie ideas (one of the biggest twists in the Party’s latest campaign that they all loved was actually steve’s idea) and will occasionally play an npc

when they’re in public they throw an arm around each others shoulders, roughhouse and do “bro stuff” as an excuse to be touchy
