Dating Namjoon feels like one of those early 2000s romance movies.
Utterly frustrating but soo worth it.
He talks a lot of hype in his songs, but I think when he first meets someone he's really into, he's a fucking mess.
Like it's Joon, but it's Joon, you know what I mean?
Red ears, stumbling over his words(and feet), getting flustered every other sentence.
Probably walked into a wall while distracted talking to you.
Don't get me wrong tho, once he gets the butterflies to chill and gets comfortable, the rizz is BACK and in full force.
Big on eye contact
Stares at you with absolute heart eyes(if you've seen that clip of him watching Hobi from Bon Voyage, you know what I'm talking about)
But can flip the switch in the blink of an eye, and be looking at you like he's gonna eat you alive(we love a duality king)
Simp Romantic. Will randomly bring you flowers just cause he was thinking about you(but he's always thinking about you, so why was today any different?)
Writes soo many songs/lyrics about you, but rarely tells you about them directly. He just asks if you wanna hear something he's been working on, and then sits back and watches your faves as you catch the hidden meanings and references. At the end, he's just sitting there, grinning, asking "You like it?"
(Like, yes, I like it you fucking dork!)
Always remember important dates like birthdays and anniversaries( first date, first kiss, everything)
Museum and bookstore dates are a given.
Buying/sharing books with you is probably one his favorite forms of intellectual intimacy, because, for him, each one is a glimpse into your mind.
If you mention one of your favorite titles and he hasn't read it, he's gonna find it asap.
Would try to get you to workout with him and be gym buddies.(I don't know if I like or hate that idea tho?)
Random texts at 1am asking if you're up and wanna hang out?(may or may not be outside your place already, cause he's over-eager and forgot to text earlier)
Endless, late night talks about everything from music to the meaning of life to what jelly bean flavor is superior(it's watermelon)
Also random trips together. Could be to the beach, could be to Sweden, who knows? You bring out his spontaneity and are one of the only people who can get him to take a vacation anyway.
He is a workaholic though, so you have to look out for him sometimes, make sure he eats, sleeps, touches grass, etc.
You probably bicker and butt heads a lot, but y'all make sure it never gets out of hand and try to find a solution.
(Lowkey possessive, but won't admit it)
Not a fan of pda, but he *clings*.
He tries to be subtle about it, but fails because it's like there's a gravitational pull between the two of you from the way he's constantly within arm's reach wherever you are.
Same goes for when you're alone. He's not technically cuddling you, but he always somehow ends up pressed to your side or back, or has a hand on you in some way.
Another member of the 'Protective Squad'. Like, if anyone so much as looks in your direction the wrong way, he's got the death glare locked on them.
Pretty classic when it comes to nicknames for you. Things like 'honey', 'baby', 'jagi'. Adds 'my' in front of any of them when he's in the mood to fluster you.
Which reminds me, he is the BIGGEST FUCKING TEASE ISTG.
He knows exactly what riles you up, and then just gives you these soft, sweet little kisses like you're not about to combust. Has the nerve to then smirk and call you needy(I wanna fight him)
Finds the most random things you do attractive. The way you read. The way you make your coffee. The weird little face you make when your flipping through Netflix.
Although he seems a bit cautious, I actually think a relationship with him might move pretty fast. Like, he's fighting back from asking you to move in with him after five or six months type of fast.
Lives for domesticity with you.
Quiet, sleepy mornings together. Messy hair and glasses over tired eyes, resting against your shoulder as he brings you coffee while you cook breakfast.
I know he said he's not sure abt kids anymore, but I do see him possibly getting a pet with you to 'round out the household'. Something quiet and low maintenance though, like a couple hermit crabs.(would probably name one after a favorite artist/author and then name the other smth random like 'blue')
Again, I don't know how to end these. Just love him, please.

Yikes 😕 I haven't started watching Percy Jackson yet but if it's all that bad maybe we won't bother. I had hopes it would be good with Rick's involvement but it seems not!
No, please, do not misunderstand me. I've mentioned in previous thought posts that while it does have a lot of flaws, the show is still great. The episodes have their moments and the main cast, Percy especially, really make the show worth watching.
I think the problem though is that Rick Riordan's always been so open about hating the movies and how little they had to do with the books that now this almost feels like a... spite project, you know? Like he's so determined on not doing anything the movies did, not acknowledging the good in them, and on creating a truthful adaptation that he doesn't seem to realize that just because something works in a book, it doesn't mean it works on a visual platform.
The movies understood this, and so they explained everything in simple ways that were easy to grasp and only told you what you needed to know in that moment. But oh, the movies are evil incarnate, so we can't do anything they did, we have nothing to learn from them at all. The show doesn't do that. It lays out alllll of this information that you really don't need to know, and in very (sorry) confusing and kind of boring ways. I maintain that if I didn't already know the story from the movies and books, I don't think I would have understood why Zeus and Poseidon were going to war, why Zeus would think Percy stole the bolt. They just kind of mumbled their way through it. I love Rick Riordan, but having a bunch of characters come together and talk for several pages doesn't work the same way in a show.
I say all of this stuff not to ward anyone off the show, I love it, it's the highlight of my week, but because nobody else on tumblr is. Hell, there's maybe one person on IG I've seen talk about this stuff, and nobody else. Also, it's to prepare anyone who hasn't seen it. It's not as bright as the books or movies, it's not really as funny, it's not as fast-paced, and this might be the biggest thing to prepare for, and it might get me a lot of hate, but... the gods don't have as much presence. They're kind of treated like random people, to be honest. The books' tone changed whenever a god was around, the movies depicted them as powerful beings of a whole other world, but this one... they show up, they say a few things, the demigods don't act like they're talking to gods, and we don't see anything of their powers. (I despise Disney acting like cheapskates, like, you guys have the budget to add a little magic fire here and there.)
I realize this descended into more of another rant, but my point stands, I just talk about this stuff because no one else does. It's a great show, I just think it missed the mark on quite a few of the big things, but if you're looking for an ultimately good time, I think you'll find it.

It's a Wonderful Life:
A big classic that was time and time again parodied and referenced, which is always the proof of greatness. Everyone knows of the part where the hero says "i wish i wasn't born" and then is shown an alternate reality in which everyone in his life is worse off without him, but it's so much more than that. It's a movie about taking a stand against bullies and tyrants, a movie about how it doesn't matter how miserable a life is, it's still worth living, and how the poorest, most pathetic man can still influence others and change their lives, even without meaning to.
A Streetcar Named Desire:
It and the original play are considered to be pretty significant mainly due to the backlash it faced for the main character's morally grey actions, which started frequent arguments over whether she was a good person or not, also the fact Tennessee Williams himself hated the changes that were made to the script for the film version, mainly the ending and the scene where Blanche tells Mitch about the death of her Husband. We read the plays script for English class and got to watch the film after, which is why I'm submitting it, I found it to be pretty good despite some of the changes that were made to comply with the hays code. I mainly like it because of how engaging it was and how much life and emotion was put into the characters. It was really interesting going from reading the script and hearing a pretty chill table read to seeing the intense almost shocking film portrayal, mainly due to the difference in how Stanley appeared, I mainly enjoyed how explosive and menacing Brando's portrayal of him was, I also really liked the way Vivien portrayed the scene where Mitch uncovers Blanche's secrets. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it before of course but I really like the way the ending diverges from the original plays ending for purely cathartic reasons :)

A Horror movie I'd seriously recommend for people to watch this October, just in time for Halloween. (Or any time of year really.) If you've never seen it, I'd really suggest you give it a chance.

My personal favorite horror movie of all time. I was 4 or 5 years old when I first rented it, and I've been obsessed ever since.

(No the creature doesn't have a pumpkin for a head, it's a demon. It's name is basically Vengeance, but it comes from this old pumpkin patch graveyard, and the locals just call it pumpkinhead because of that.)

It has a sequel "Pumpkinhead 2 - Blood Wings" That is also in my opinion worth watching. I also loved it as a kid, and still do even today. Many people shit on it, it was a lower budget film, and it went straight to VHS. But I still love it, almost as much as the original.
However part 3 and 4 are terrible and not worth watching at all. We don't talk about them. lol

The plot of part 2 is similar to the first one, but it's different enough as to not be the exact same story told again. And that song posted above has lyrics that oddly enough tell a vague, spoiler free, story about part of the movie.
And who knew Bill Clinton had a brother (Don't hold that against Roger) and that he could actually sing? I love this song, and listen to it every so often, as well as rewatching the movie.
I enjoyed these movies, songs, as well as the poem, and hope anyone that hasn't encountered them before will too. Happy Halloween and October.

Headcanon
okay excuse my SCREAMING but okay so. I went to follow from another blog of mine and read the pinned info about your headcanons, Kai. And I REALIZED HERE, that Ienzo could be well from the world based off 1997’s Anastasia. This movie has one of my favorite lullabies in it, and I swore that it was within the Russia-European setting. The basis when I looked it up is:
[The evil wizard Rasputin (Christopher Lloyd) puts a hex on the royal Romanovs and young Anastasia (Meg Ryan) disappears when their palace is overrun. Years later, the Grand Duchess (Angela Lansbury) offers a reward for Anastasia’s return. Two scheming Russians (John Cusack, Kelsey Grammer), planning to pawn off a phony, hold auditions and choose an orphan girl with a remarkable resemblance to the missing princess. They bring her to Paris for the reward, not knowing she’s the real Anastasia.]
I am not sure how that would help into plotting for a KH rendition like most of the other worlds, but if they have even managed to get Tron in here? Yeah. SUPER CONSIDERATION. ^^

Before Disney bought 20th Century Fox last year, I based Ienzo’s family from this very film. It was a few years ago, and I was in the process of revamping my Ienzo/Zexion backstory completely. At that time, Anastasia was on Netflix, so I watched it alongside my husband since I never saw the film.
You can guess where I went from there. While the movie is not historically accurate, I decided to incorporate parts of it in Ienzo’s backstory. Their parents fled Saint Petersburg--I alluded to that on their about. What I didn’t mention, since I was focusing on Ienzo’s story, was that their parents escaped as Rasputin rose to power. Specifically, their father was nobility in Saint Petersburg at the time, and carried some of that with his family upon arrival to Radiant Garden.
Saint Petersburg fell due to Rasputin and the Heartless. It was a mess. I’ve never written what happened to it upon being restored, so that’s a possibility to explore in the future. Would it be stuck in the 1920s? Would Anastasia live? What would the Heartless be like there?
And now I have part of Rumor in Saint Petersburg in my head.
tldr: My Ienzo was born in Radiant Garden, but they carry their family’s Russian culture, language, and heritage. Their family came from Saint Petersburg and left thanks to Rasputin.

Gimli? For the character ask
Hi! Thank you so much for this ask. I love Gimli, and I'm in a Tolkien mood, in case anyone hasn't noticed from my teensy tiny number of Silmarillion reblogs.
First impression: I watched the movies before reading the books, so my first impression of him was him trying to destroy the One Ring with his axe. I didn't know he would be part of the fellowship, but I still thought "Woah. He has guts! Also straight to the point, no dilly dallying. I like that". It was pretty spot on, I think
Impression now: I think the trait that stands out to me the most, the more I spend thinking about him, is that he is proud. Proud of his history, his people, his heritage. To a fault, sometimes (see the whole "getting into Lothlorien blindfolded" debacle.) However, he is open minded enough to look beyond his pride and find friendship in unlikely places. I think we also never talk enough about how much he appreciates beauty: Moria, the Glittering Caves, Galadriel. Even in the middle of a war, he doesn't loose sight of the things that make the world worth saving.
Favorite moment: Oh, I have a few! First of all, asking Galadriel for her hair. The absolute hilarity of the situation aside - Feanor is combusting once again in Mandos or the Void- he could have asked her for anything. All the gifts ther rest of the company got where useful in a practical, immediate way, or, like the seed given to Sam and the Elessar- they were powerful symbols of love and hope. He asks for something that is simply a reminder of beauty, and the physical sign of looking at the face of an enemy and finding a friend there instead.
Then, there is his reaction to Moria and Mirromere. It almost makes me tear up.
And I will always have a special place in my heart for the moment he and Legolas walk through Minas Tirith talking about how to restore it to its former glory and more. It never fails to bring a smile to my lips.
Idea for a story: I love any story that centres around his relationship with Legolas, whatever its nature. Both how they navigate it, and how their people see it. More of that, please. I would also love to read more fics about his time in Valinor. If you have recs, especially about Valinr and maybe him interacting with first Age elves, let me know.
Unpopular opinion: I wouldn't say that it's an unpopolar opinion, necessarily, at least not among those who have read the books, but he's not...particularly funny? Not more than Legolas is, for sure. I see him as very noble and honorable, and I like that about him.
Favorite relationship: Legolas, without a doubt. I ship them, but I also like their friendship. It's so unique. There are two fics in particular that stand out to me. One is gigolas, and it's Finding a Voice by Roselightfairy. The other I read many, many years ago, and I liked it so much I printed it. It's about friendship and choices and grief: Of Rowan and Ruin by Thundera Tiger
Favorite headcanon: I have this idea that, immediately after the war, he convinces Faramir to go with him to the banks of the Anduin, where Boromir's corpse had been seen on its way to the sea. He tells Faramir that when Boromir died his friends sang a lament for him, with one stanza for each wind, but they left the east wind for last, and he would not sing of it and the menace it bore. Now, though, the Enemy is gone, and the wind of the east is clean once more. He would pay his respects, if Faramir allows it. And then he sings of Boromir the Just, of new things growing from evil, of overcoming temptation, of free Ithilien and smiling Minas Tirith that sings Boromir's name in hope, not grief. He and Faramir stand there until the sun sets, and both their hearts are left lighter. (It just really bothers me that he didn't get to sing, okay?)

With the new Enola Holmes movie that just came out, what do you think of her and Sherlock? I haven't watch it yet, but I would love to know of your opinions and see whether they're shippable! Cheers, and happy shipping!
This is obviously a very old ask that was in my inbox. (Anon, I broke it up, to separate the two subjects, I hope that's OK.) Did you ever watch Enola Holmes?
So on one hand I was like, "What a surprise, Netflix is trading on an old popular IP to attract viewers for something new that's nothing like what they love about the classic thing". Was I wrong? No, not really. But given the fact that Enola was unlikely to have had two older brothers if this had been an original work, I'm rolling with it. And I’ll roll with everything else I didn’t like about it or that felt so tired. In a lot of ways it was cute and fun, though.
I would probably have a lot more to say if I had watched this movie more recently, but I'm so glad there was an ask about this movie because it really is worth mentioning.
So, for anyone who hasn't seen Enola Holmes (or read the YA books), basically in this movie Sherlock Holmes and his brother Mycroft have a significantly younger sister who has grown up isolated with their mother on the family estate and been trained in all sorts of unladylike things. When the mother disappears, Enola's older brothers return home, having been gone for most of her life. Mycroft as the eldest is in charge, and if I remember right the estate technically already belonged to him. He insists on Enola being sent to a finishing school. Sherlock doesn't interfere but seems more amused and impressed by Enola's wild and willful ways than critical. Enola eventually runs away from the school to look for her mother and becomes embroiled in another mystery.
Enola and Sherlock don't share a ton of scenes but there's a cute kind of understanding between them, an acknowledgement of their similarities, that they're sort of cut from the same cloth. It was certainly nothing like Conan Doyle's Sherlock but again, we'll roll with it this time for the sibling shipping.
Mycroft and Enola butt heads and Sherlock asks to take charge of her as his ward, showing that he's willing and even interesting in playing a large role in her life, and that he understands her better than Mycroft does. It's also just a nice gesture for her, saving her from Mycroft.
Of course, being the contrarian I am, and being into ships with a lot of tension, I was also super interested in Mycroft and Enola. Mycroft is not portrayed very well in this movie - he's unkind and even shown as not that bright sometimes (which I resented). I've always been a huge Mycroft fan, and even on Sherlock I liked Eurus/Mycroft better than Eurus/Sherlock, just because that's who I am. I would write a defense of him but I don't remember the details well enough. But if I had more time I'd love to take a crack at writing a fic just to show that I could take what we were given and turn it into something beautiful.
As it was, I started brainstorming an original fiction inspired by Enola Holmes but focused on an Mycroft/Enola romance (in the form of original characters, of course), with a few tweaks (and nothing to do with being a famous detective or solving mysteries). Uptight, busy, much older brother with a life in London suddenly finds himself in charge of his country estate fallen into disrepair and his wild younger sister. He makes every effort to prepare her for society and the future and finds her totally ungrateful and rebellious. Meanwhile the middle sibling, their brother, exasperatedly tries to mediate as the two sides become increasingly more petty. They each then have a moment where they are able to appreciate the other, and an attraction develops, allowing them to meet in the middle. Etc. Actually, it was the most excited I had been about something new in a long time.
I also wanted to say I really liked Mycroft and Sherlock's relationship in the movie. There's no relationship development, but they seem to be very good friends. I mentioned that the movie makes Mycroft look bad, but Sherlock seems to like him just fine. There's this, I don't know how to describe it, but this sense of them being together a lot. They're often side by side, or making comments to each other. There's a sort of unity there.
More to come on all of this, I'm sure. A very good-looking family played by favorite actors with fun and interesting dynamics.

Peter parker x reader

A/N: howdy! It's been 84 years since I last posted any originals so here's a fluff alphabet, I plan on doing quite a few more in the future! Enjoy - Aphrodite
A - activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?
Between school, Peter loves to spend time with you in his & May's apartment. He sees the city so much while being spider man, so a cozy night in with pizza and Star Wars is his favourite thing. Peter will try and spend as much time with you as possible, but you both have tight schedules due to being avengers, so he'll take whatever he can get. He always feels guilty about not being able to spend as much time with you as he wants, so sometimes you have to reassure him that any time spent together is time well spent.
B - beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?
Peter is 100% about personality over looks, and he thinks the most beautiful part of you is your kind and caring nature. He loves your open mindedness and the fact you treat everybody equally, but he also loves the sarcastic and witty side of you. He values your personality loads, but it's just a plus that you're also the most gorgeous person he's ever seen.
C - comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?
When you feel down or a bit anxious, Peter can always sense it. He doesn't blatantly tell you, but he always shows you a lot more physical affection to make you feel better. He'll hold your hand and rub small circles on it with his thumb, he'll cuddle up to you and gently massage whatever part of you is closest to him, anything to physically distract you. If you're alone then he'll give you small pecks or the forehead - not only does it make you feel better, but it also makes him feel better too.
D - dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?
Literally every day. When he's bored in class, when he's trying to get to sleep, when he sees something that reminds him of you; you're on his mind a lot, he absolutely adores you.
E - equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?
It depends on the situation. When you're on a mission together and there's even a slight threat, he's automatically dominant and gets very protective of you. But usually he's quite passive, with a hint of dominance when he gets jealous.
F - fight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?
You and Peter rarely every fight, but when you do have small arguments he's always the first to apologise. The only time you both have had a really serious fight is when you got badly injured after a mission and he got angry that you unnecessarily put your life at risk. However, he was still the first to apologise, as he couldn't stay mad at you for long.
G - gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?
Oh boy, Peter is SO grateful for everything you do. In fact, he's grateful even when you aren't doing anything. Just knowing that he has the most amazing and kind s/o in the world makes him so thankful.
H - honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?
You know pretty much all of Peter's secrets, so there isn't much for him to hide. Even when he does have something he wasn't planning on sharing, he always tells you. He knows you won't judge or tell anyone else, therefore he often uses you as a human diary.
I - inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around?
You and Peter both changed each other for the better. Peter made you appreciate the small things so much more, and has taught you a lot about his favourite things, music, and science. Whereas you've taught him a lot of hand-to-hand combat, and love teaching him your hobbies & the languages you know.
J - jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
Peter trusts you completely, so when he sees you spending time with another man then he doesn't really mind. He knows you would never flirt with anyone but him, but as soon as he sees the other person get handsy then he's automatically pissed. He's quite good at hiding his emotions though, so he'd only be slightly passive aggressive towards whoever is flirting with you. He knows you can handle yourself, but sometimes he just wants to make sure people know you're his.
K - kiss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?
Your first kiss was amazing. You had been dating for a few months and were spending the night at the avengers tower, in which Peter has a room. You were both cuddled on his bed, eating ice cream, watching Back To The Future when you caught him looking at you. You didn't have time to say anything before he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours. Before you could register what was happening, he leaned back with a crimson blush plastered on his cheeks. You cupped his cheek and pulled him back in, this time for longer. His lips tasted of the chocolate brownie ice cream he had been eating, but it was so wonderful and sweet that neither of you will ever forget it.
L - love Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?
The first time Peter told you he loved you was mid-battle. You, Peter, Sam and Natasha were fighting a group of criminals who were trying to infiltrate Stark Industries - while fighting one of them, you looked over to your boyfriend when you spotted one of the criminals with a knife running up to Peter behind his back. In an instant you jumped over and saved him, using your abilities to your advantage. Once the crimumal was on the floor, Peter laughed, mouth agape, "I love you so much!"
You froze, completely shocked, not knowing what to do. It was only later that evening when you knew what you had to do, so you caught Peter in the hallway of the tower and kissed him, with as much passion as you had in your body. Peter responded quickly, one hand resting gently your waist and the other cupping your cheek. You both stood there for a few minutes, lips working in harmony, before you pulled away and pressed your foreheads together.
"I love you too."
M - marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?
You and Peter are still young, so marriage isn't something you both have thought about too much. Despite this, he knows that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you, and eventually get married and start a family. He hasn't brought it up with you as he doesn't want to scare you off, but he knows you feel the same way.
N - nicknames - What do they call their s/o?
Peter has loads of cute pet names that he loves to call you, but also has a few silly ones from stupid incidents in the past. He still calls you 'apple' from when you first met and you spilled apple juice all down your clothes, but his signature pet names are 'honey' and, in private, 'baby'.
O - on Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?
It's very obvious to everyone in the tower and at school that he's head over heels for you. He's constantly making heart-eyes at you, and is always talking about you when you're not around. He compliments you so much that you don't think he's ever said a normal sentence without letting you know how appreciated you are!
P - PDA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?
Peter isn't the biggest fan of intense PDA, but would go crazy with it when you're alone. When in public he usually sticks with holding hands, a hand resting on your thigh or around your waist, and small pecks on the temple. When you're alone Peter loves to cuddle, give you small massages of your achy muscles, and would happily kiss you non-stop. But Peter really loves the domestic affection you share, like when he washes your hair or gets to cook with you.
Q - quirk - Some random ability they have that's beneficial in a relationship.
It's almost like Peter can read minds. If you think about something small that you want, then he'll get you it the next day. You don't know how he does it, but you've always believed that your connection is more powerful than anything you've ever felt. Fancy red velvet cake for dessert? He's already there with a slice. Thinking about rewatching the Harry Potter movies? He'll suggest a move night just in time.
R - Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?
Peter is very romantic, and likes doing a lot of the cliché things that happen in the movies. But Peter has a lot of creative ideas when it comes to dates and ways to spend time with each other, so you're always in for a good time. He would do anything to make you happy, no matter how cheesy and sappy it is.
S - support - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?
He would do anything to help you achieve your dreams, and will always help you reach success. He studies with you, trains with you, and is there at your beck and call to make sure you know you're supported.
T - thrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?
You and Peter don't really have a routine, but neither do you spice things up too much. You're always trying new things, and neither of you lead boring lives, so there's always fun stuff to do.
U - understanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?
Pete is extremely empathetic with you, and knows you better than you know yourself. You've been through some stuff that he doesn't know too much about, but he supports you through everything that he can, and you always do the same.
V - value - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?
Your relationship is the most important thing in the world to the both of you, but more so to Peter. He's lost too many people in his life, and the thought of losing you makes him want to die. You're his world, his life, and his one true love, and there's nothing more important to him than the bond you both have.
W - Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.
Peter and you definitely have different love languages and show love in separate ways, but one thing that unites you both is the love of having you hair played with. When you both are cuddling and drifting off to sleep, peter will run his fingers through your hair, gently massaging your scalp. And sometimes the roles are reversed, you delicately toying with his soft curls, earning small hums of comfort when he feels your warm fingertips against his forehead.
X - XOXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
Kissing and cuddling is Peter's favourite thing. Being soft and vulnerable yet feeling completely safe means the world to him, and it's even better that he gets to do it to you.
Y - Yearning - How will they cope when they're missing their partner?
He barely copes. When you're on a mission and he's in the tower he has to find somebody to pester because he doesn't have you there to mess around with. Usually he annoys Bucky or Sam, but he'll be clingy with whoever is there until he has you back in his arms.
Z - Zeal - Are they willing to go to great lenghts for the relationship? If so, what kind of?
Peter would simultaneously kill and die for you, and sacrifice all he has left in the world. If it made you happy, he'd do whatever you asked :)

I think we're all aware that I'm a sucker for pirates, and that very much extends to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Until today, though, I'd never seen the fifth film (Dead Men Tell No Tales). Well, I watched it this morning and it's been on my mind since then, so I'm actually watching it again as we speak - and I'm here to highlight some cool things for anyone who hasn't seen it!
First of all - okay, so it's not as good as the original trilogy. That's a high bar, though, so that's not really a useful thing to say. (Stranger Tides is also not as good as the first three, but still a great movie as far as I'm concerned.) It feels a bit distant from its predecessors, but still carries a good amount of the signature charm of the franchise, and definitely worth a watch.
The main selling point, if you're asking me?
Captain Armando Salazar.
Here we have Javier Bardem playing yet another incredibly compelling antagonist. See the floaty hair and cracked skin? Gone are the zombie or sea-creature-hybrid pirates of yore, this one's a g-g-g-g-g-ghost! Driven by anger and revenge, he and his spectral crew break out of their exile and come after Jack, handily demolishing any other vessel that gets in their way. The character concept, the delivery, the aesthetic... he's just super cool, okay?
Oh... Did I mention they keep a trio of undead sharks, which they sic on escaping quarry?

Big Life in a Small Town (Part 1)
A/N: This is based on the song "Santa Fe (Prologue)" from the Newsies musical! It's not based on the plot of the musical. The song will be altered a tad, but not too much! In the next part though, I'll have to do some edits. But for now, you've got this... mess? I dunno, I'm writing this before it's done. This is post-X-men Apocalypse, so Peter is in his late 20's.
Genre: Bittersweet fluff

The X-mansion was quiet, the cool midnight air only changing currents occasionally when a silver blur sprinted around.
Pietro had his younger brother in his arms, running around. Peter injured his leg a while ago, stuck on crutches. ANd it was killing the young speedster.
And Pietro noticed.
So he scooped his younger brother up out of his room, running him around the mansion's vast yard until he smiled. That's when he brought him up to one of the rooftop balconies of the mansion.
The two siblings weren't the only ones in their family who lived in the mansion. Pietro's twin, Wanda, was fast asleep, her room near the balcony.
Pietro, as immature as he may seem, was wise beyond his years. He'd seen more things than he ever would have wanted to for a 35-year-old man. Hell, anyone would be unsettled when you find your mother died of sickness, and your father was out of the picture when your younger brother was born a few years after.
Pietro and Peter sat on the balcony, a case of beer between the two, a sudden scoff came from the older speedster.
"What's up, you alright?" Peter asked, looking at his brother.
Pietro's eyes were glued to the ground below them, a sour expression on his face.
"Those streets down there," Pietro began, a dry laugh leaving his lips. "They sucked the life right out of our old man. Well, they aren't doing that to me."
Peter pursed his lips, watching as his older brother took a swig of his beer.
Pietro has always hated staying in one place for too long. The mansion hadn't really ever been his favorite place. Staying at their aunt's house in D.C. was something he looked forward to every summer. But, even then, he could only stay there for a few days before needing to go somewhere else. Not just from his need to move, but the U.S. government still wasn't absolutely fond of mutants.
"But everyone wants to come to New York," Peter let out a small chuckle. To an outsider, it'd sound like he was in disbelief, but he understood how Pietro felt.
Staying in one place was hard. But Peter also managed to make himself a family here at the mansion as he grew up. He met the ever-sweet Jean Grey when he was 20 years old. The poor girl had some trauma that no one but Chuck knew about. He got to meet Hank, and Raven, and all of the other younger kids. He thought of them all as his younger siblings.
He couldn't leave.
"You keep your small life in the big city. Give me a big life in a small town."
Pietro's words snapped Peter out of his thoughts, looking to his older brother. Pietro's eyes had lifted from the ground, looking up to the sky.
"They say folks are dying to get here."
"What about you, Piet?"
"Me? I'm dying to get away... to a little town out west that's spankin' new," Pietro said with a grin. "And while I've never been there, I can see it clear as day! If you want, I bet you, you could see it, too.
Peter has always had a particular question on his mind, that he always knew the answer to.
Then why haven't you gone? What's stopping you?
But, as always, Peter kept his mouth shut. He didn't want Wanda and Pietro to leave, as dumb as it may be. They were the only family he had left. Well, that he knew of and that knew of him.
Erik was another person he'd address when he had the courage.
But not...
Not now.
"Close your eyes."
Peter looked at his brother again, who was staring back at him. Honestly, he was waiting for his brother to snap in his face and use what became his favorite phrase after a few movie nights: "Hello, McFly?"
"Come with me, where it's clean and green and pretty, and they went and made a city out of clay."
Clay? A city out of clay? That sounds... odd. Peter hasn't stayed too long in other parts of the world, opting to stick to the Northeast area of the U.S. Occasionally, he'll go further South or a little bit further West. But never past Kansas.
"Why, the minute that you get there, folks will walk right up and say,
'Welcome home, son. Welcome home to Santa Fe!'"
Being called son was something the Maximoff boys wanted more than they would ever elude to. Their father? Out of the picture for the most part, up until they realized he was a terrorist. And he didn't even know about Peter.
Of course, the townsfolk of Santa Fe may not call you "son" as soon as you land on the premise. But, two bastard sons can dream, can't they?
"Planting crops. Splitting rails. Swapping tales around the fire," Pietro's grin grew as he spoke. He really thought about this a lot, didn't he? "Except for Sunday when you lie around all day."
Peter didn't know how much Pietro truly thought about leaving. Pietro's mind was full of places to go and see, places where he could take his family and live without having to deal with attacks from the U.S. government.
Santa Fe was where they'd go next in the U.S., but Sokovia was certainly the next best option. The U.S. government wouldn't come looking for them in Sokovia.
Right?
"Soon your friends are more like family, and they're begging you to stay! Isn't that neat?" Pietro asked as Peter took a large sip from his beer. "Living sweet in Santa Fe."
Pietro trailed off, almost in a dream-like state, making Peter flinch. He really fucking wanted out, huh?
"Hey, no one worries about a bad leg in Santa Fe. You just hop on a palomino, you'll ride in style!" Pietro joked, knocking his shoulder into his brother's.
"Feature me, ridin' in style," Peter giggled, taking a swig of his beer again.
"Hey, I bet a few months of clean air, you could toss that crutch for good!"
"Santa Fe," Peter and Pietro mumbled in unison, one happy and the other more tired. "You can bet, we won't let those bastards beat us. We won't beg anyone to treat us fair and square. There's a life that's worth the living, and I'm gonna do my share."
"Work the land, chase the sun." Pietro ran his hands through his hair, standing up.
"Swim the whole Rio Grande just for fun!" Pietro and Peter shouted together. The two had massive grins spreading across their faces, just happy to see the other smiling.
"Watch me stand!" Peter stood up quickly, only to feel a sharp pain jolt through his bad leg. His hands flew to the balcony railing, gripping it tightly as he let out a choked noise of pain.
"Watch me run..."
Pietro frowned when he saw his brother's grimace, watching Peter set himself down into a sitting position. The poor kid was gritting his teeth and sucking in harsh breaths as he set himself down.
"Hey, hey..." Pietro began softly, sitting down beside his brother before slapping a hand on his shoulder. "Don't you know that we're a family?"
Peter's eyes met Pietro's, painting over his grimace with a weak grin. "Yeah, b--"
"Would I let you down?" Pietro asked.
Peter let out a weak laugh as his brother continued.
"No way. Just hold on, kid, until that train makes Santa Fe."
The younger speedster let out a yawn, leaning his head on his brother's shoulder.
"Let's get you to bed, okay?" Pietro said, only getting a nod from Peter.
Pietro scooped his younger brother up in his arms, speeding through the mansion into Peter's room before setting him down.
"Good night, Peter."
"Good night, Pietro."
Pietro sped out of Peter's room, only to be stopped when he passed Wanda's room. His sleepy twin gave him a look, one that he didn't see often, and it concerned him.
"Pietro, we're being called to Sokovia," Wanda whispered sleepily.
"What? Why? All three of us?"
"No. Peter needs to stay here. He's got a broken leg, Pietro. Just you and I."
Pietro took in a quick breath before nodding.
"When do we leave?"
"... you didn't see that coming..."

Hi! I absolutely love the meta about NMJ's Empathy memories being unreliable, and it's got me wondering about how his qi deviation and death actually went. Since LXC says he saw the qi deviation (and Fatal Journey says it was in public), what's your take on how JGY got NMJ into his secret room so he and Xue Yang could use the Tiger Seal (and eventually kill him)? Fatal Journey has the Nie sect holding a funeral for him, so presumably NHS had /soneone's/ body to bury, but then in The Untamed LXC later says something like he 'hasn't heard from' NMJ in years and had feared the worst, so things... don't seem to add up? What do you think?
Aaah, okay, so: first off, I’m incredibly sorry it’s taken me so long to answer this, and I nonetheless very much appreciate your interest in my opinions here <3 If you’re still hanging around/following me/reading my blog, anon, idk how obvious it’s been that I’ve… not been having the best few months brain-wise, but that’s basically all I can offer as an excuse for why this reply is coming so late. Thank you for your patience!
So, okay, I think I’m going to try and tackle this question from a couple different angles. First of all, I think it’s worth looking at the material provided in the contained story of the 50 episodes of The Untamed on its own, to see what that suggests, before bringing in outside or supplemental sources, which is what for this purpose I’d consider spin-off movies, details in other versions of the broader MDZS story material, etc. to be. Also, I want to note upfront that while I do tend to incorporate different details and versions of events from both CQL and MDZS into my personal headcanon, what I write in my fic, etc. because I think they tend to provide interesting possibilities, elaborations, and what-ifs for a broader composite MDZS-adaptation-universe – for the purposes of this post, I’m going to stick to material from The Untamed and Fatal Journey only. Mostly, my reason for that is that there’s a few logistically distinct details of how the qi deviation happens in MDZS compared to CQL – one being, it happens at Qinghe rather than Lanling – that I believe affect the timeline of what Jin Guangyao is doing with Nie Mingjue’s corpse in the first place.
Alright so, in The Untamed alone, the evidence such as we have includes: the Empathy sequence involving the qi deviation in episode 41, and Lan Xichen’s statement in episode 39 recounting that he saw it happen himself at Jinlintai, and that after hearing nothing from/about Nie Mingjue since, he’s been “mentally prepared” - presumably, for the news that he’s dead. What I’m inclined to take from those two pieces of information, is essentially a story like this: NMJ qi deviates, very publically, and at some point while this is happening, he makes a break for it and leaves Jinlintai, and whatever presumably messy trail he leaves in the process ends up going cold for anyone trying to follow, with no NMJ around to be seen. With various factors at Jinlintai invested in retrieving him for attempting to turn him into a controllable fierce corpse, it’s pretty easy to imagine that, besides whatever above-board search party tried to follow him, there would also have been another party closely watching his movements for an opportune moment to slip in and scoop him up to bring him back to the secret treasure room for fierce corpse experimentation – hence why the trail would’ve gone cold.
Now, the actual scene showing the qi deviation itself doesn’t include multiple elements I’m positing or including here – specifically, the presence of a bunch of third parties actually witnessing it, LXC included, and then also the idea that NMJ ever left that one landing at the top of the stairs during the qi deviation at all. But, since we see in other parts of the Empathy sequence that the events shown can be… a bit more impressionistic than accurate; and furthermore since it seems reasonable to posit that the memories of the time when he has a literal break with reality might be even less literally reliable than the rest of them – I think those aspects can be reasonably explained away as that scene portraying more of what the qi deviation felt like from the inside, than what an outside observer would’ve seen. Nie Mingjue’s focus is Jin Guangyao, so Jin Guangyao is all he sees – up until Nie Huaisang breaks through that monomaniacal focus and is seen, finally, as himself.
(If you particularly want to pull out some feelings, I might even suggest the idea that finally seeing a distraught NHS was the thing that pulled NMJ sufficiently out of his rage to be lucid enough to flee – and that he booked it in part because he was terrified and ashamed to possibly hurt his younger brother, whether physically or emotionally by letting him see NMJ in such an awful state.
So then, aside from that: the question of what we see in Fatal Journey. I’ve actually been trying to find an answer about what kinds of mourning customs would be followed or even possible if a family didn’t actually have their loved one’s body on hand to bury, but thusfar my internet searching hasn’t really gotten me any useful information one way or another – if anyone reading has an idea or some good sources to point me to, I’d love to hear them! Everything I’ve read so far seems to very tightly marry the performance of appropriate rites and the presence of a body together.
That said, looking back through the actual funeral scene in Fatal Journey, I also wasn’t able to notice the presence of a coffin anywhere in the set, either? We see a memorial tablet, set up in the front of the throne room at Qinghe, and what looks like a brief shot of some offerings, and NHS stoking the fire, but in the couple brief scenes of the inside of the hall, I don’t think there was a coffin set up there? (Or, for that matter, out in the courtyard which we get a longer look at, either.) Compared to what I at least assume is a coffin with Jin Zixuan’s body inside during the mourning scene in episode 32, I feel like it’s reasonable to guess that, even with Fatal Journey included, whatever mourning rites took place at Qinghe after NMJ’s death, they may simply have not involved a body or a burial at all.
- And actually, now that I’m thinking about it, taking Fatal Journey into consideration overall suggests that it might ultimately be the norm at Qinghe to hold mourning rites without a body present – because per the lore additions in the movie, the Nie sect leaders go down to die on their own at the bottom of the saber tomb, and it sure doesn’t look like anybody had been going down there to retrieve them once they did? So, I don’t know, maybe there’s some sort of symbolic burial of something associated with the sect leader as a Nie custom, to keep things looking a bit more normal and less “we build a tomb for these resentment-filled blade spirits that eat our sect leader’s sanity”, and that’s also what ended up being done for Nie Mingjue? But, yeah, there’s no real confirmation happening even in the movie that NHS was able to come back with a body to bury, so I don’t think that necessarily contradicts the idea that NMJ could have gone missing during his qi deviation and never been properly recovered for a 100% confirmed death.
(That said, I personally don’t tend to incorporate, oh, most of the specific events or points of lore from Fatal Journey into my own readings on various elements of the story? Like, quite frankly, I don’t really like the movie that much, and I think it opens up a lot more unnecessary character and worldbuilding questions without doing a good job of integrating them back into the rest of The Untamed’s continuity (er, such as it exists XD). So I don’t necessarily have an opinion on whether “the Nie sect generally doesn’t do bodily burials of is clan leaders” is an idea anyone should pick up for The Untamed canon; merely that if you do take the events of Fatal Journey as canon, it certainly seems like it could be a possibility.)
(And again, big, big big disclaimer here that, e.g. if holding any kind of mourning rites without a body present is actually super Not Done, then what I’m saying with this part might be totally moot, and then well…. who knows, there’s plenty of speculation that could be used to cover that gap up – maybe “they never found the body” wasn’t actually widespread knowledge, but rather just information LXC had special access to due to the relationships he had with the people involved? – and some set of people depending on your preferences conspired to get another body to stand in for NMJ’s to allow them to hold a funeral? ….Which honestly sounds incredibly sketchy to me on its own, but considering all the other professionally Yikes-style desecrations of bodies that happen in this story…. who knows? I’m really just tossing out ideas here at this point, not saying I necessarily endorse any of them outside of “I think this could potentially work in some way without being out of character for anybody”.)

Hi Robot, it's anon with the Astaire/Rogers song rec here. I'm so glad you mentioned the Fitzgerald/Armstrong version of 'They Can't Take That Away From Me' and 'Let's Call The Whole Thing Off'! You can't go wrong with Fitzgerald/Armstrong! Their versions are also one of my faves. To expand on that, a fun fact, LCTWTO is also in the film Shall We Dance, TCTTAFM comes sequentially after LCTWTO.
Side note: in the context of the film, LCTWTO is essentially a song about Fred and Ginger's characters being married (a trait we know Red and Liz are so adept to), but legally fake married, and they're squabbling away as a newly wedded couple whilst doing a fantastic dance roller skate routine (worth a watch on YouTube). I just imagine in an alternate universe Red and Liz bickering, bantering and stumbling their way through the roller skates-tap routine😂.
Side note II; the version of TCTTAFM in the film is sung by Fred to Ginger's character as a goodbye to her, cause these two dumbasses after resisting and teasing each other for so long realise they've actually fallen in love with each other for real (another very Lizzington trait).
Anyway, I digress. The lyrics differ a little bit I think in the Astaire/Rogers version to the Fitzgerald/Armstrong version. I think in Red and Liz's case the latter suits them more, lyrically. Long story long, both are great Lizzington songs.

Firstly I love all of this amazing song trivia and like, behind the scenes knowledge. Secondly the songs themselves are just so very delightful to listen to (I used to work in a store where we sold those old Putomayo CDs, if anyone remembers them lmao and anyway we had an Ella/Louis greatest hits CD and I used to sneak it in the cd player every time I worked there) (I also used to work at the local public library and borrowed the Ella/Louis CDs all the time).
This actually reminds me of ANOTHER Louis Armstrong song that I feel would work for our beloved Lizzington scenario: it's A Kiss to Build A Dream On and it's magnificent. For anyone reading who hasn't heard it I'm linking it here.
Picture if you will, either Red or Lizzie before they have to part for a while - whether it's because Lizzie's heading to the grocery store or Red has business overseas - and they ask the other to leave them a kiss they can think about for the entire time they're apart. 🥲

The only Fred Astaire movie I've EVER seen (!!) is Funny Face and that's because I love Audrey Hepburn so much, so I've seen everything she's done and he happened to be in this one lol. It's adorable if you happen to have not seen it, and it caused me to go through a beatnik clothing phase where I dressed like she does at the beginning of the movie although I in no way resemble her.

i finally saw ep1!! i wont be able to see ep2 until thursday at the earliest but i already have some Thots on this ep. here are the ones I remember
first is, and i'm so sorry for this, a grammar lesson. an appositive is when you stick an additional phrase in between commas, dashes, or the like. i actually just used one! the "and i'm so sorry for this" in the first sentence of this paragraph is an appositive. thing is, most english speakers don't normally use them when they speak, only in writing. so i'm always on high alert whenever i hear somebody in tv or movies use one. (it's generally a marker of bad screenwriting). anyway there was one right in the beginning of the episode. the white army guy yelling at sam wilson said "first lieutenant Torres, our intel officer, will be helping on the ground." yeah so. the writing of this series started out on the wrong foot for me. but the rest of the episode was obviously tons and tons better (every interview i see with malcolm spellman makes me love him more and more)
the contrast between the opening minutes (falcon action sequence) and the rest of the ep.... i would 100000/10 rather watch a series with just sam and bucky dealing with life. i dont give a single crap about the flag-smashers or any of that. i just want sam, sarah & fam getting their boating business back on the ground & yeeting racist dickwads, bucky going through therapy and making amends, sam and joaquin being bros, sambucky homoerotic tension, etc.
the cinnamontography! wandavision mostly used cinematography to signify era n stuff. tfatws doesn't have wv's premise to go off of, so here's some tricks i noticed:
with sam there's obviously all sorts of shots with the captain america iconography next to his face, but he hasn't totally claimed it. there's the mural of steve rogers in the background; there's sam staring into the shield like it's a spectre of steve's face; there's sam looking into the exhibit, the shield and sam separated by glass and a layer of camera focus. steve is a constant spectre, always there, an idea, a symbol himself. sam's relationship with this iconography is distanced. he is separated by glass exhibit walls. by painting canvases. he doesn't yet feel worthy to take on that iconography. this whole thing was pulled off quite well but also a bit on-the-nose if only in quantity. there's just sooooo much fancy iconography stuff
speaking of the exhibit, there's something that i get real pissy about. it's when like, there's an action going on you're supposed to be paying attention to but the cinematographer is like,,,, hey! check out this location! or this headline! or something! there was a lot of that in the exhibit. the camera was like, you could focus on sam and rhodey's convo (which was fine but could have been so much better with an extra like 10 minutes of deep character study talk) but noooo you want me to look at the symbol for the united nations and read all the text about bucky who hasn't even showed up yet. shut up i know the lore and ill watch the shot-by-shot breakdown yt vids you don't have to make the shot this long jkdsalcjklasejf
my fav trick was with bucky and the therapist. i had seen a clip of the scene with bucky and the therapist beforehand and i thought the cinnamontography was super obnoxious, but then i was like, oh duh. the shots frequently change the distance between the camera and its subject. sometimes it's uncomfortably close and sometimes it's really far. a clear allegory for the duality of therapy, esp for bucky! therapy is an invasive process wherein he is ruthlessly examined, picked apart, and berated for his trauma (this therapist is crap in every way btw, "mean therapist" works for greg house and greg house only). so the camera goes close. it makes the viewer claustrophobic like bucky. but when he's like "no i haven't had any nightmares" the camera suddenly goes really far. we see bucky as this tiny head in the center of the bottom of the frame. we are distanced from him. he has pushed us away. we cannot see him. he lies because he is vulnerable. so yeah, amazing work there. the therapy scene was hard to watch on purpose!

this therapist sucks major ass but she got bucky and sam together in the same room and ready to collaborate...that's something ig. it was lichrally couple's therapy she said she used her miracle exercise with couples sambucky antis get blended
bucky says "he was wrong about you so maybe he was wrong about me"...that's not how people talk. when therapist asks bucky, the guy who doesn't talk at all about himself, "y do you hate sam", the last thing bucky's gonna do is actually connect his hatred of sam to his own self-worth issues. bucky generally refuses to talk about himself, so why would he talk about himself in the one context that nobody ever links back to their own neuroses: hatred of other people? one thing human beings hate most is admitting we're wrong. admitting you hate someone because of your own issues? that's a major therapeutic step. bucky would absolutely have to be prompted to do that. even like one or two lines of dialogue more would have set up that line better. but in terms of the actual thought? an amazing way to take the sam/bucky relationship. bucky bases his self-worth on steve believing in him, and if steve is wrong bucky has no self-worth, so 1) he has to develop self-worth disassociated from steve's assessment of him and 2) he has to love himself before he can love sam, and 3) he has to realize that sam giving up the shield is a sign of sam's humility not his unworthiness.
conversely, we don't get into why sam hates bucky? yeah sam has the right to hate a guy that has tried to kill him (albeit while brainwashed) multiple times, and now shows up in his life just to bash him but. everything happens so fast i cant follow their relationship
in fact i dont feel like i understood much of anything. like y did bucky and sam go on that mission together? how connected are sam/bucky/joaquin with the government? doesn't bucky just want to retire now? literally what is everyone doing/feeling and why???
if battlestar becomes a knowing commentary on the black best friend stereotype i'm gonna party, but i dont expect much of that

Don't worry about getting this to me as early as possible. I usually don't watch the episode right away.
1. Cool writing lesson.
2. Everyone wants a comedy show [like Friends] about the MCU superheroes.
3. Cinematography is always a beautiful thing.
4. Sam definitely has to carve his own Captain America status for himself, outside of Steve's ya know everything.
5. They have to do that for people who was just now tuning in because they're in love with Sam Wilson or Sharon Carter.
6. I think the therapist was taking a 'tough love' approach for Bucky, because she likely has some very strong opinions about the literal assassin she's been assigned to give therapy too. She did not choose to talk to him, she was assigned that make that clear in the second episode.
And, Bucky isn't lying when he said it wasn't a nightmare. It wasn't a nightmare, it was a resurfaced memory. So, technically he wasn't lying - and yes, the camera does move away because while he's saying he didn't have a nightmare, he's not expanding on what actually happened - so, he's still pushing the therapist/us away.

1. Honestly, that line was double meaning. Both about White people and Hydra [which is made up of mostly white supremacists/nazis] So, the line is gesturing to both White People in general and Hydra assholes together. I think the terminology is “double edge sword”??
2. This whole paragraph structure confused me, ngl - so I'm going to answer it the best I can. I do like that they're not ignoring the fact that Sam being Black is 1000% the reason he's not the Official Captain America - because the gov't is racist as hell.
I also like the little lines about how they point out little things about Sam's Falcon persona, like that kid calling him 'Black Falcon' specifically and Sam's response show the split between Sam and Falcon itself.
John is a dick for calling Sam the wingman of Steve Rogers. Sam was a hero all on his own before Steve asked him to join up again. [Side note, it's lichrally??]
3. Exactly, the parallel of Sam being profiled and surrounded while just on the street and John being surrounded by fans and being able to spring Bucky with apparently only a few sentences shows a Loooooot
4. Honestly, at this point I wonder if she's not actually a therapist and is just an agent assigned to assess Bucky outside of an Official Building. I do know, however, that her 'look at each other and speak' exercise is actually a real therapy practice. It's just a little slower.
5. Actually, I think he would've blurted that out. That whole line. I don't think Bucky hates Sam. I think they could've done the scene better, but I think that had Sam prodded him/the therapist been more annoying Bucky would've lost control of his emotions and blurted out the whole "If he was wrong about you, he was wrong about me" but I feel like the writing for this show is just... not there. Sometimes you blurt shit when you get overemotional and I think that was what Bucky was supposed to be like.
6. I don't think Sam hates Bucky, I think he doesn't trust him though. I do wish they'd talked about that though. The whole 'talk to each other' scene should've been a LOT longer and a LOT slower.
7. Sam and Bucky's relationship is being fast tracked because they don't really know how to work the relationship out, writers-room-wise. Bucky is technically retired, but I feel like he's trying to live up to Steve's expectations and doing what Steve would've done and we all know that if Steve was there, Steve would've jumped on that plane with Sam. It looks like Sam/Bucky/Joaquin are a side-team based from Military services but as Sam says they're all free agents so...?
8. Sadly, They seem to just be propping up to be another stereotype.
9. Captain America is a symbol. Steve Rogers is a man. But now Steve Rogers is an idol because of all the shit he's been through and honestly, it's not a bad thing he's become an idol for people - it's using Steve as a reason to make White Bread Walker the next Captain that makes Steve's idolization so fucked.
10. I don't know anything about music so I have no opinion here, sorry.
11. Enfys?? Also, I think they did the whole Innocent Girl Thing as side commentary for Bucky lowering his guard about seeing a young girl rather than a guy.
12. Bucky is the Winter Solider. The Winter Solider is Bucky. That is how Bucky will always see it because although he was brainwashed, it was still him and he remembers all of it. When you have constant memories of something 'someone else' did, you tend to not be able to pull the two personas out of each other. I want Bucky to take up the title, White Wolf instead of Winter Soldier. Honest.
This is all my opinion, I’m honestly a little disappointed with the writing of TFATWS so far so... I’m not really optimistic about this.

⚠️SPOILERS for bnha, and the heroes rising movie⚠️
I have rarely voiced these opinions, but I think it's about time I did.
See, there is a fine difference between ships and what is more likely to be canon, for me at least. As of right now I do not believe that bkdk will come anywhere near to being a canon romantic relationship, not only because of the type of manga/anime bnha is but also because of the development and change that would need to happen in order for it to even be possible. For the type of manga, I also believe Izuku or Katsuki being with anyone of the same sex is also out of the question. Horikoshi has put two transgender characters (and supposedly a bisexual character) in his manga, yes, but I do not see us getting anything more than that.
I am a multishipper through and through however, and I ship almost anything you can name that isn't incest, pedophilia, or abusive. Kirideku, for instance, and Todobaku as well. I like those ships, I think they're very cute and make a lot of sense. The only ships I don't like (I won't name them) I dislike purely because of the people who ship them. The way they act completely disgusts me.
But let's take a look at why BakuDeku, in my opinion, is commonly misunderstood.
I think there are a lot of misconceptions about the BakuDeku ship, and I don't say this just because I personally ship it.
Katsuki
Season 1, as soon as Katsuki was introduced I hated his guts. I couldn't stand watching him bully Izuku, let alone telling him to go and jump off of a building. I wanted to reach through the screen and punch him myself. I don't take things like that lightly, and so I thought to myself I will never like this character. Even as time went on, season 2 and all the way up to season 3, I couldn't stand him.
He was an abusive person terrified of his childhood friend becoming something that perhaps he feared that he himself could not. He's disgusting towards everyone, showing only disrespect and arrogance.
When he was kidnapped is when things started to change for me.
Not just his reaction alone-- "Deku, stay back"--but also Izuku's. Izuku is one to forgive way too easily, in my opinion, but I doubt he forgives someone if he truly doesn't think they deserve it. So for whatever reason, Izuku thinks Bakugou deserves his trust and forgiveness.
If you look at it like this-- Izuku knowing Katsuki better than anyone else, not only from his observations but as well from his up close interactions with the other. Taking this into account, maybe Izuku knows something we don't about Katsuki. We know for sure his mother was borderline abusive--as seen from that conversation with Todoroki as well as just how she treats him--, but is that all? We can't know for certain, but it seems that Izuku might.
Let's say that none of that is true, let's go ahead and say that Katauki is just what he seems to be: an arrogant prick with a superiority complex. Even so it's impossible to say that he hasn't changed at all.
Take this scene for example. Just from this scene alone, from this one thing that he tells a kid he doesn't even know, you can see how much he's grown from when he was 14 years old.
This is turning into more of a Bakugou thing rather than a bkdk one, but hang in there. This is important too.
He has gone from believing that he is the best of those around him, thinking that everyone else will only get in his way, to recognizing that he has weaknesses just like everyone else. That in its self is a feat to be praised, but top that off with the realization that if he keeps putting others down he'll never see his own weaknesses and you've got one heck of a character development process. Granted, that won't be enough to make up for things he has done in his past.
So let's take a look at his past, shall we?
Raised in a home with, while loving, a push over father and a brash and aggressive mother. Whether or not she realized what she was doing, or even if she had been raised in the same way and doesn't see it as wrong, the way she yelled at him undoubtedly rooted something not short of some sort of trauma (disclaimer: I am no expert on trauma) into him. Not only that, but she probably pushed him to be better. Constantly; be better, you aren't good enough, you call that trying? So on, and so on.
Being told his entire life that his quirk is amazing, those around him letting him believe he is an undeniable leader, all of that has made him into what we see in the beginning.
Even before he got his quirk he probably thought he was better than those around him and that they also knew that, that they would follow him for protection or some sort of recognition from great power.
So, we have a 14 year old who thinks the world eats out of his hands. He sees Izuku, quirkless Izuku, as something not worth his time. Someone as great as him has no reason to play around with someone as worthless as Deku.
There is obviously the hinted at miscommunication, as shown during the Deku vs Kacchan 2 fight. The fact that apparently Katsuki sees everything Izuku does as looking down on him, mocking him, calling him weak and so on.
As a person who struggles with this, I can assure you it really is hard to tell the difference between someone genuinely wanting to help and secretly saying they don't think you can do it. Obviously I realize not everyone looks down on me, but because of the need to be independent and to prove myself to those around me, it feels like every outstretched hand is going to burn me when I grab it. Katsuki is far worse in that regard than I am, so I can only imagine how hard it is to admit to himself that someone is offering help and not mockery.
So let's say this entire time, their entire lives spent together, Katsuki has seen Izuku--someone who was quirkless--as one of the many people who doubts his abilities. Of course he's going to treat him worse than he treats others, but none of that makes it okay. None of that, any of this, erases what has been done.
That being said it does create a bridge for his redemption, for a deserved forgiveness, and yes I truly do believe he will earn that forgiveness.
It's going to take a long time for him to grow into the fact that accepting help doesn't equal to accepting defeat, and that offering it doesn't equal to the belief of weakness.
Katsuki, in my opinion, started to see his faults around the time be befriended Kirishima. Kirishima is strong, so obviously Katsuki is going to want him on his side, but there is more to it than that. I truly believe that Kirishima sparked the change in Katsuki, or at least held the match for the flame to be sparked.
Kirishima and Katsuki's friendship is what I imagine Izuku and Katsukis's might have been like if Izuku had gotten a quirk, as that is all that mattered to Katsuki. He never cared much about the person attatched to the quirk, only how it might help him. Meeting Kirishima, a person who believes everyone is strong and that they can do anything they want with the resources handed to them, must have irritated the piss out of him. Another person who seemed to think that the weak could be strong.
Being around that kind of thinking will eventually rub off on you, however. Even off onto someone like Katsuki. Especially after seeing Izuku's potential with his own two eyes.
So all of those thoughts of Izuku being a weak nobody turned instead to thoughts of Izuku being a threat to him and his goal. It's better than the first, but it really doesn't do well for them being anything other than rivals.
So, right now in his character development process? BakuDeku even being friends seems like a far off thought.
So now, let's take a look at Izuku.
Izuku
His entire life he's been told by Katsuki that he is lesser, he will amount to nothing, he's completely worthless. That never stopped him from arguing, denying, or wanting to be a hero. Finding out he has no quirk didn't stop him, and being told he might as well die didn't stop him.
Izuku is a wonderful person with a huge heart, a heart that wants to save every single person it comes across, and a heart that sees the best in everyone around it.
He went from being someone in the background, never standing out or doing extraordinary things to a person who will stop at nothing to save one single life. He no longer lingers at the sides, or fears his own abilities. He strikes with confidence in himself, in his peers, teammates, and all of those around him. He uses the hearts of those he wishes to save as a boost to help him win the day.
Meeting Iida and Uraraka, and many other amazing individuals, helped him realize that there are people who believe in him and want to see him succeed. Not everyone will treat him like Kacchan, or only see him as being in the way.
Do I believe that he had to have resented Katsuki in some way for some amount of time? Absolutely. In fact, he might still.
Him forgiving Katsuki wasn't out of the others development at all. It was out of his own achievements, his own confidence, that he was able to come past all of that negativity and believe in himself as a hero. For that reason, he was able to at least not hurt from what Katsuki done to him, if he hasn't yet forgiven him.
Sadly I don't have a lot to say about Izuku's development, or his thought process, but I do know that Katsuki has always been his image of victory, and I do now believe that he can finally see himself as his own image of victory. Or at least, more than just his tormentor.
Heroes Rising
I want to talk a little about the events of heroes rising, dispite it not being a canon part of the universe. It has been said that the movie was what Horikoshi imagined the end of bnha to be, and that is what I'm going with here.
In the movie Katsuki is still his usual superior self, treating Izuku the same as he always has. When there is no immediate danger, and even during a fight neither of them expected to walk away from. Now this may be do to Horikoshi changing it to fit more into just an alternate period of the present instead of perhaps a more time skipping version, but I am not aware of that being false nor true.
Even so, Izuku showed the same amount of care for every individual person as he always does. Katsuki on the other hand, he seemed to care just a little more than his typical self.
Even going as far as to use Sero's actual name when he's calling out, concerned for the other.
Especially, in the way he treated Izuku suggesting giving him one for all just so they could win the battle.
They both knew what this would mean for Izuku, and it's pretty obvious Katsuki didn't want to do it at first, but he's not clueless. He knew that Izuku was right, without two one for all's they and everyone on the island would have died. Throughout the process never once does he say anything about himself, he's only ever concerned about what would happen to Izuku and about saving the island.
Izuku was willing to give up his dream for an entire island, because that is his dream. His dream is to save lives and become the greatest hero, and saving an entire island is exactly that. He trusted Katsuki because he knew All Might would, and if All Might would trust this quirk with a person such as Katsuki, clearly others besides us, Katsuki and Izuku can see his development.
Their Relationship
Now, in regards to the actual conversation of misconceptions. I do believe that at first glance, that being not taking into consideration home life and miscommunications among these two in their own time, any sort of romantic relationship for these two would be seen as abusive. Because right now, if they both weren't more busy with training to be heroes rather than relationships and for some reason decided to be together, that's what it would be. Katsuki has a lot of things to sort through in his own head, and after he gets that settled they both have a long road to being able to be anything close to friends.
So being rivals is the best for them at the moment. They are each others core motivation, the reason they push and push themselves even when there's nothing left to push. Which over time is going to build a strong connection, more than what they have.
Eventually I do believe they could be friends, a hero duo is even more likely as they've already proven just now as training heroes that they work well together.
That being said if anything romantic were to come of it, it would be in a much later date.
Another misconception might be that bkdk shippers either ignore the way Katsuki has treated Izuku or just don't see it at all, which may very well be true about a lot of younger (or even older) people who might just see their rivalry as some sort of romantic tension. Which happens a lot in anime. However many of us see this ship and see the development, the huge development that will take place in order to be something more, and that is something we would absolutely love to see.
Shipping (for me personally)
I think that most ships in this fandom have good reasons for being shipped, and even if they don't as I've said there is a difference between shipping something and thinking it will become canon.
Personally, I think any ship becoming canon would ruin the manga. I see bnha as something that is perfect without any building romance, that being said a little background romance wouldn't hurt.
As far as relationships among the students goes, I'd hate to see any of them actually start dating. At this age, when they're doing things that are far more important, it doesn't seem like the right decision at all. That doesn't stop me from reading fanfictions, or looking at fanart, or saying that I ship two or more characters together. It's all harmless fun, until you turn into an Anti. I have absolutely no respect for antis and I severely hope they never interact with me.
In conclusion
I do not think that bkdk will be a canon ship in the mangas current timeline. That however, doesn't mean I can't ship them or think that eventually something could come of all of their character development.
Like it or not a good part of Izuku, his development, his personality, his dreams and life goal come from Katsuki. They come from knowing him nearly his entire life, from seeing him as a symbol of victory since they were kids and even up until now.
You can dislike bakudeku as a ship, you can ship other things and all that, but to deny that they aren't important to each others entire character-- and yes I do mean both of them, Katsukis's character also revolves a lot around Izuku--is to be blinded by your "hate" for the ship or even for Katsuki as a character. BakuDeku as a friendship/rivalship is way more important than as a relationship, and I think that's something everyone who loves either of them needs to respect.
The entire reason that they are were they are right now is because of All Might, their shared admiration for a strong hero for different aspects of said hero. That he never loses, and that he always saves everyone. Both traits make up their own respective heroes, Izuku and Katsuki happening to be opposites on that spectrum.
Their current existence thrives off of each other. Where they once looked to All Might for motivation, they now find it amongst themselves. As seen many times, when Katsuki asks Izuku "when are you going to hurry up and make that quirk your own?" You can choose to see that as him looking down on Izuku, but all I see is him wanting Izuku at his fullest potential so they can both give their all against each other, while at the same time with each other (though I doubt the second part is what Katsuki is thinking, those are just my thoughts.)
All in all, they push each other to be better, and I can't help but respect that.

Your opinions are your opinions, but I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong so I don't want to see you telling me that. Thank you.)

Anyway I'd like to request some yandere headcannons for Dazai, Chuuya, Atsushi, and Akutagawa...How would they react to a pregnant s/o attempting to escape captivity? Akutagawa Ryunosuke
Akutagawa is unquestionably merciless and cold when it comes to most things. However, the anger that comes to him when he returns home and finds you trying to escape him will cause him to be enraged.
He will without a doubt grab you by the collar of whatever you are wearing or a few strands of your hair and drag you back into the room while your cries of pain fall on deaf ears if he’s not wearing his trademark coat. Though if he is wearing his coat then expect to be quickly grabbed by Rashomon, dragged back into the room and pinned to the bed while Ryunosuke simply stares at you with cold eyes that are burning with the silent rage and he will not have Rashomon release you until you explain yourself.
Though he may appear composed in truth he is absolutely livid that you tried to escape him, and even if he doesn’t say as much it will be in his voice and eyes. Had he not given you everything? Everything that he had done had been for you and yet you try to escape? Perhaps he had been far too lenient with you or maybe he had been simply fooled by how you were behaving that he had allowed you to be unrestrained. After all, he had so far neglected using the chains, the collar, and the handcuffs but if you were going to continue to be stubborn and resist then he would have no choice.
One of the many punishments was about to come your way since betrayal or things like this were never something that Akutagawa was very forgiving of, especially when it came to you. Losing you was something he would never allow. However, when the words leave your lips with fear twinged and pleading eyes Akutagawa’s thoughts come to a complete stop and for just a moment his eyes widen in stunned skeptic shock.
Silence. For a long moment that is all, you’re met with.
Pregnant? You were pregnant with his- His Child?
Error AkutawaRyunosuke.exe has stopped responding. Please wait a moment as the system tries to restart and reboot.
He’s completely taken aback and unsure what to make of this news and even skeptical, as for a moment the thought that you were only saying such things to avoid your impending punishment comes to him, but the look in your eyes tells him otherwise. Both guilt and regret quickly come to him at how harsh he had been with his aforementioned treatment of you while the two words crawl up his throat and to the tip of his tongue.
Along with this guilt and regret that he has comes anxiety of what that entails and this is one that troubles him greatly. The thoughts of whether or not he is ready to be a father come and stay in his mind constantly since while he has experience with looking after Gin, a baby was a completely different matter and one that he isn’t entirely sure that he’s ready for.
After learning this Akutagawa will take time for himself, leading him to leave the room but not before locking it behind him. During this time he will use this time alone to process the news and you will likely not see him for a few hours or more.
When you do see him in the morning Akutagawa’s uncertainty will still be with him but his demeanor towards you will have changed. He will be more careful towards you and more awkward around you and this is something that is very easily seen when he brings you breakfast the next morning and his body language will seem stiffer. It will only be when you give him reassuring words or touches that he will visibly relax, before just sitting there with you for a while.
Sometimes his eyes will just drift to your stomach and his eyes will just stay on your stomach for a while, while his eyes unconsciously and noticeably soften. If you notice this and tease him about it; his cheeks will darken with an embarrassed blush and he’ll quickly look away, and while he won’t deny it he won’t confirm it either.
Akutagawa will undoubtedly grow even more protective and possessive over you the longer this news sets in, this is something that both he and Atsushi have in common. However, while Atsushi is like a tiger protecting its mate from any danger that poses a threat to them; Akutagawa is like a wolf, baring its fangs and viciously tearing apart any who dare try touching his mate. The fangs will come in the form of the glares that will be seen in his eyes if anyone tries anything with you while you are on an outing; whether it be just a walk through the park at night or to a doctors appointment and it goes without saying that whoever's dumb enough to try to lay a hand on you with ill intent; will be met by those vicious claws in the form of Rashomon, as they tear the fool to shreds without hesitation.
This is something the poor doctor who takes your appointments is not exempt from either, especially if this doctor happens to be a male. The entire time that doctor is giving you a checkup and checking the progress and health of the baby Aktuagawa’s eyes will be watching his every move and if his hands linger a little too long for his liking, his eyes will shift into a glare which will make the poor guy noticeably flinch. Honestly just see a female doctor it’s better for everyone that way.
Atsushi Nakajima
Atsushi’s response to you trying to escape will be a mixture of self-hatred and desperation. This mix is only pushed on by his obsessive desire and need that he feels to protect you. It goes without saying that Atsushi has never felt much self-worth, he knows that you could do far better than him and that he doesn’t deserve you but at the same time he knows how horrible and cruel this world is, but that will not stop the tears from coming to and from his eyes as he begs you to stay; while he only just holds himself back from grabbing you and holding you to him to keep you from leaving him behind. There are so many people outside that could hurt you or worse! People exactly like the port mafia and he only wants to keep you safe! Isn’t it normal to want to protect the one you love?? You love him too so why won’t you let him??
Along with this mixture is confusion. Why? Why are you trying to escape? You were safe with him, he loved you so much and he’d happily give you anything. He’d wait on you hand and foot if you so desired. He’d do anything for the person who had made him feel wanted and loved for the first time in his life.
Silence would come to Atsushi as he sits next to you having locked the front door upon entering it again and this confusion and frustration will push and pull at him to ask and to demand why you tried to leave.
When the confession comes from your lips Atushi will be stunned into silence like Akutagawa and for a moment he will just look at you with his lips parted in a small o. In that silence he will be trying to read your expression almost to see if you were lying but then again he knows you wouldn’t lie about something so big, he knew you, that wasn’t like you.
Pregnant? W-With his baby? You were pregnant with his baby?
Hearing this will cause his confusion to come to him again, first beginning with why would you want to leave if you were pregnant before the other questions came to his head. Was he ready to be a father??? The very thought made his head spin with confusion and concern. The aspect of being someone's father had never been something that Atsuhi had ever considered. What if he messed up? What if he wasn’t good enough as a father to the child? What if-?? All of these questions that spin around in his head will be joined by the most pressing question. What if this child inherited his ability?
However at the end of all this one thing seems to reassure him and that’s the fierce will he had to protect you except now it isn’t just you who he wants to protect, but the child inside of you too. Even if the aspect of being a father scares him beyond belief and the possibilities that he would be a horrible father makes him incredibly nervous and worried he knows that there is nothing he can do except try. Despite this worry though, there are no words for how happy he is to learn this.
After he learns of your pregnancy Atsushi’s protectiveness of you will only increase. He is a tiger after all and tigers are always protective over their mates, especially when they’re pregnant with their cubs, however, his obsession with you causes him to be a little overbearing at times to the point where it’s close to smothering, even when you both go out for your appointments.
Chances are that he will call into the Agency a few times from the desire and need he has to be near you and make sure that you are always comfortable, but when he is at work and on the job Atsushi’s thoughts will be on you constantly.
When at home there’s nothing that Atsushi enjoys more than being curled up next to you on the couch while you are snuggled up in a blanket that he had earlier got you while you either watch TV or just a movie that you wanted to watch. At first he was shy and extremely embarrassed to ask if he could rub your stomach; but after asking a few times even after you said yes it will become second nature to Atsushi and when the baby kicks Atsushi will be unable to keep from gazing at your stomach with both love, awe and amazement at the thought of a child made from the two of you is growing inside of you right now.
Don’t be surprised if you both end up falling asleep with his hand still on your stomach, while his free arm which had transformed into that of a tigers is wrapped around you; the action will seem tender and loving but it will also be to keep you from escaping should you even attempt to do so again.
Osamu Dazai
Given just how perceptive Dazai is it’s very bold of you to even assume that you can hide anything from Dazai, much less the fact that you are pregnant with his child.
Out of the four of them, it’s extremely likely that Dazai would have already picked up on the signs and put the pieces together, leading him to come to the conclusion himself before you even tell him
On one side he’s hurt that you’d feel the need to hide this from him, but the other is also understanding especially since you hadn’t exactly come into this relationship willingly.
He’ll continue to act oblivious to this fact and play it off as if everything is normal but every so often he’ll ask you while dropping little hints but never coming right out and saying it, which will lead you to guess if he knows constantly to yourself.
While he does this conflict will be occurring in himself as well. Having children had never been something that he had never considered or really thought about after all his wish was to one day leave this mortal coil and the person he desires to do just that with one day was you. Yet now you were pregnant with his child. This makes him feel conflicted as he does not want to leave this child alone to fend for themselves should he follow through with his desires; as he knows just how cruel this world can be, especially if you have to go through that by yourself.
Maybe this child could be another source of light and warmth for him just like you are to him. A means for him to find some hope in this world that in the past has given him nothing but darkness, one that he still fights within himself and at times comes to the surface, like his obsession with you.
These thoughts continue to go around in his head as he makes his way home after finally being allowed to come home to you, however when he finds the door unlocked and you nowhere in sight one big torrent of emotions go through him beginning from worry, to panic to fear and then a rage that’s followed by the desire to make whoever took you wish they were dead; only to draw out their suffering before ending their miserable lives for daring to even attempt to take you from him.
However, as he takes more things into account such as the lack of signs of a struggle and the lack of evidence that leads to that, Dazai comes to another realization. One that will fill him with disappointment and hurt but his anger will not fade. You’d left on your own accord, though he isn’t too worried, he’d find you. He’d always find you and the fact that he knew you down the last detail including your thought process and where you’d likely be it doesn’t take long until he does.
Once he finds you he’ll greet you with a perfectly innocent smile but one look in his eyes lets you know that that’s just a visage and it’s not long after that he informs you that he knew. He knew everything all along.
As much as he would love to give you one of his very creative punishments he doesn’t want to harm your child in any way and so he lets you off easily and by the look in his eyes when you get home you know to consider yourself lucky.
While he won’t keep you restrained after your little stunt Dazai’s watch over you will become more intense, and every time you go to an appointment, he is always there; playing the role as the perfect and friendly boyfriend to everyone around you, including the doctor. Should you act hesitant to the point where you begin to draw suspicion from the doctor; the look that he’ll send you for just a moment when no one is looking and the dark curl of a smirk that will appear as an all too familiar warning will quickly change your behavior like a switch as you know full well what awaits if you choose to stir Dazai’s temper.
However, on a lighter note Dazai’s affectionate, tender and loving side will come out more and he’ll feel relieved at no longer having to act oblivious to the fact that his darling is pregnant. He’ll happily call in sick under the notion that you aren’t feeling well that morning and he has to take care of you but he’ll do this just so he can spend more alone time with you.
Your lack of energy due to your pregnancy will be something that he will take complete advantage of and a majority of these moments will be spent wrapped in Dazai’s embrace as he holds you close to him and cuddles you. He’s not the best cook and is usually lazy but if you ask him to cook you up something easy like instant ramen a well as bring you a glass of orange juice he’ll happily do that for you while making himself up a cup of instant ramen himself, before getting back into bed with you and enjoying his ramen there while you both just relax and enjoy tv. After all, since he’s been dosing your food with that sleeping medicine that he plucked off the shelf on the hospital; due to using his skilled hands why wouldn’t he enjoy every moment without worry.
Chuuya Nakahara
Please for the love of cheese give the Bitter lil Espresso kids. He really wants them, especially with his darling.
If there is ever a moment where his darling is around kids and those gentle and warm smiles come to their expression while they interact with them; a warm feeling will settle in his chest and it will only push on this desire to have them with you someday.
However when you begin to be constantly sick this warm feeling that had started in his chest once again as he found himself thinking back on it to himself will quickly change to concern. At first, he’ll think it’s just a stomach virus that’s going around but then he notices how strange your so-called virus was. You were throwing up constantly.
As the pieces click together the longer this continues he’ll feel like this is way too good to be true, making him skeptical at first. Chuuya will ask you if you were alright in spite of knowing the answer as a means to push and encourage you to tell him but when you choose not to tell him and instead just give him an excuse that you think is believable others he’ll leave it alone for the time being and just wait until you decide to tell him yourself.
However, while he is at work his thoughts will be all over the place from the prospect of possibly being a father and then shifting to the possibility that he was just overthinking this and blowing it out of proportion. Sure he wanted kids but that didn’t mean that he didn’t have his doubts and worries, having a parent who's in the Port Mafia wasn’t exactly the ideal parent for any child after all. Still, the thought of having a family with you is and has always been something that Chuuya has secretly wished for, but this is something that he will never admit to anyone but you.
After being cooped up inside with meetings and documents all day all Chuuya wanted was to go home and relax with you, in fact, the thought of seeing you made a soft smile grace his expression for just a moment, the smile he would only ever reserve for you. However, he comes home to find you have not only broken the window but were trying to escape out of it his blood runs cold as the smile completely leaves his expression.
Fucking hell he thought you were over this! Instantly Chuuya will make a b line for you, grabbing ahold of your arm and pulling you back inside while being very careful not to injure you on the glass. Both hurt and seething from anger Chuuya will be seething inside as he’ll look at you with only barely held back anger in his eyes. If you don’t give him an honest answer then and there his anger will flare to the point where his ability will activate all while his grip stays on the wrist that he had pulled you back inside with. He won’t hurt you but he will use it to hold you down if you insist on being stubborn and not tell him the truth.
When you do and the answer that a part of him already knew comes to his ears Chuuya’s eyes widen for just a moment before his eyes soften, so you were pregnant. He knew it. All the signs had pointed to that after all, but still, if you were pregnant then why the hell were you trying to leave him? He knew that your relationship wasn’t exactly healthy but everything he’d done had been for you, this was all to protect you, he loved you down to his very marrow and yet you still tried escaping? Again? After all this time?
Due to how hurt he feels over this it will lead Chuuya to become cold towards you for the rest of the night, and should you try to earn his trust again he will be a little bit suspicious at first but soon he’ll begin to relax, after all as much as you hurt him by trying to escape, he could never hate or stay mad at you for too long, those smiles and touches that you gave him made it near impossible for him to and soon enough things will return to ‘normal’ as his warm and passionate side will surface once more.
Gentle kisses on your cheek and forehead while you sit on his lap while he enjoys a glass of wine on the sofa as you watch tv will be like heaven to him, but not quite as much as knowing that you, his queen were pregnant with his child. Even if he is busy at work he will always make time for you, if you want him to pick up something for you be it food, drink or other things he’ll get it for you on his way home or he’ll stop in when he has time for the purpose of giving you what you asked for and if it’s for an appointment to cheek up on the baby Chuuya will always ensure that he is able to make it to them.

When does a criticism become a valid one? There was a time where I spoke and explained why S7 and Shiro's overall treatment in the series hasn't been well received but apparently the criticisms weren't valid enough and people are just overreacting. It's fine if people like Shiro in Atlas but I still don't understand how the common criticisms for S7 aren't valid or worth thinking about when there's evidence is in the EP's writing and interviews.
At first I thought you were asking about the moral judgment between valid and invalid. After some thought, I think I know what you’re really asking: when do people grant a credibility to a critique?
Well, truth is: sometimes never.
In some ways, we’re (un)lucky enough to be fans of a series with a staff that talks an awful lot. Like easily ten times what I’ve ever seen before. And that’s before we add in random commentary from directors, storyboarders, VAs, writers, even interns. I’m kinda surprised we never heard from the guy who stocks the kitchen, too.
That’s a lot of fodder for fandom debate, and it doesn’t help when the EPs contradict everyone else and the story itself. Maybe they think controversy makes buzz, or they’re susceptible to interviewer manipulation, or maybe it’s stress and jet lag. Who knows.
All I know is it feels sometimes like people are standing in the aisles shouting at me while I’m trying to watch a movie. I’m not entirely without sympathy for the impulse to shout at the audience. It takes a lot of self-discipline to shut up and let a story speak for itself.
I’ve said this before and I’ll keep saying it: the story only exists with you in the picture. The creators bring the body; you’re the half that gives it life — and your praise or critique is also a story: you’re walking readers through your experience. Readers mix that with their own perspective, which means your reaction, by definition, now exists outside you, as much as the story exists outside its own creators.
Unfortunately, all that shouting from VLD staff has now become part of our experience of the story. And while it can be entertaining in a slightly twisted way to tug apart those often conflicting or ambiguous messages, sometimes you gotta step back and remember what’s driving the noise.
It’s each person also trying to express their experience of the story. From the showrunners down to the kid in receiving, their reactions will be as myriad as fandom’s own; they’re also people with their own varied experiences. Where it becomes a problem is anyone else insisting that this other version should somehow override yours.
And no: it doesn’t, and it never will, and it never can.
I’m not saying there isn’t an objective story: we have the transcripts, we can make gifs, we can screenshot. But we lose that objectivity as soon as we try to put a finger on what it means, because we keep forgetting that what it means should come with an addendum: for us.
So you gotta do what’s clearly given the EPs so much trouble: you accept that another’s interpretation, in the end, is their own. You gotta back off and let them have it; if they disagree, that doesn’t make your version invalid. It just means they bring different experiences to the table. You aren’t responsible for that, and it neither reduces you nor boosts you if they agree, disagree, or stick sporks in a little doll made in your image.
By the same token, your reaction — your critique or praise, your experience of the story — is also valid, full stop. New experiences down the road may change your reaction, and that’s fine, too. Sometimes it’s from experiencing another’s reactions; sometimes it’s everyday life itself teaching you a new perspective.
But, see, there’s a beautiful thing hiding in all this chaos, and it’s the real reason we get noisy about our reactions. It’s a desire to bridge the distance. It’s to hear someone say, yes, it’s exactly like that. Because that means somewhere in their experiences, they align with us just enough to have seen the story much like we did. The story reveals our common ground.
Sometimes, bridging the distance means hearing someone say, I hadn’t seen it that way but now I understand why you do. This is where critique and praise teach empathy. In hearing/reading another’s reaction, you are literally walking through the story in their shoes, seeing it through their eyes. The story reveals our common humanity.
Not everyone wants to go there. Not everyone can. For them, your critique or praise will fall short, because they can’t or won’t or just aren’t ready to hear what you’re saying. There’s a good chance they never will be, but maybe you’re not ready to hear their experience, either. It’s a difference of opinion based on a difference of experience.
There are too many factors to list for why some percentage of the fandom (or the staff itself) can’t or won’t hear your critique. Their refusal to listen does not invalidate your reactions, but it does --- to me, at least --- underscore that your reaction is all the more valuable.
In retail, we say that for every happy customer, there’s five more who are silent. For every unhappy customer, there’s fifty more. It’s so much easier to say nice/good things; it’s much harder to say, “what you did there, that hurt/made my life harder/was bad.” That’s why we pay so much more attention to the unhappy customers, because they’re the ones stepping up to let us know what we need to fix or do better. That wasn’t easy, and we should recognize that.
If you’re pointing out problems and it seems like you’re surrounded by people who insist it’s all in your head, it’s just you, you’re overreacting, that tells me two things. One, chances are better than even that some of them privately agree with you, but lack the energy, time, or confidence to speak up. And two, that you gotta look around and find your tribe. Because those insisting it’s all fine and you have no right to your reaction? They ain’t it.
Maybe someday they’ll be ready to hear what you have to say, and walk the story’s miles in your shoes to understand how it made you feel. But they aren’t there yet, and until they are, there’s no point in shouting them down.
Fandom has no governing body to grant your response credibility; even if it did, most of us would just ignore it, anyway. Our reactions --- whether praise or critique --- are valid, because they’re ours. No one, and nothing, can take that away from us.
Tell your story, build that bridge, and find your tribe. You’re not as alone as you feel right now.
