his reaction to your pajamas

expl: they pay your house a visit and see you in your pajamas, flustered by the exposed skin when they're so used to seeing you in your regular outfit

Diluc didn't often pay your home a visit because he never had a reason to do so. You were always on time to the tavern, so today, when you had shown up late he decided he'd pay a visit just to make sure you were alright!
It wasn't often that he took this trip to the other side of the city of Mondstat. He only really saw these parts when he was doing his justice as the "Darknight Hero," but he knew you lived here when he had to drop you off after a couple too many drinks. Which was a shame because you also never remembered when you practically clung to him the whole way while flirting.
He took a couple steps towards your door and knocked 3 times. Standing in silence for a bit before hearing the sounds of some clattering objects in the house. Along with the sound of your voice cursing when something fell with it.
The door swung open and you appeared before it, disheveled, and looking like you just woke up. Your expression immediately turning flustered when you realized your boss was at your front door, and you were dressed in your pajamas.
Diluc's eyes flew to your appearance, especially the fact that the clothes you were wearing were very uneven, along with a lot of skin being shown. You seemed to notice his glance going down further and further, before raking back up to your eyes. Lifting the bottoms that were slowly falling down your hips, you sheepishly smiled before speaking,
"Diluc! Can I ask why you-" This was when your face dropped in immediate realization. Unfortunately, your brain chose at that moment to catch up with everything surrounding you. It was the afternoon, you just woke up, and it was Sunday. Wait? It's Sunday.
You jumped nearly 50 feet, scattering to explain with your hands in the air. "Oh my god! I am so sorry! I was out really late last night and I- God I'm so sorry! I will be down there in 5 minutes trust me I promise!"
Rushing back into your house, slamming the door and the sound of more clattering objects and your cursing reached Diluc's ears. He finally allowed his face to dust a shade of pink, pulling his hand over to his mouth and rubbing it in an embarrassing matter.

Xiao was the "Conquerer of Demons" he was vicious, strong, and scary. Xiao was the "Conquerer of Demons" but here he was, doing an errand. Ridiculous, an errand? All he was trying to do was make his way up to the top of the Wangshu Inn when Verr Goldet practically cornered him and asked him for a favor.
And how can Xiao say no? She gave him a place of safety and he would do anything to repay her for the kindness she's shown. Verr had asked him if he could deliver a package to a room closer to the top floor. He knew it was your room just by the number, often walking by and waiting a few seconds to hear any noises in there.
Xiao knocked on your door, silently hoping you wouldn't take your time getting to the door and this could end quickly. He waited a couple more seconds before hearing the sounds of you walking towards the door. The door opened slower than he thought it would and you came out looking like you had just woken up the minute he knocked.
Your pajamas were hanging loosely off you and Xiao's eyes wasted no time looking down at all the exposed skin that was showing. Your eyes squinted so much that you couldn't see the way his face lit up like a firework at the sight of you.
"Xiao? What're you doing here?" The voice you spoke with sounded groggy. Still unaware of The Conquerer of Demons losing it at your appearance. He said no word and quickly handed over the package, nearly making you lose your balance before disappearing away.

Scaramouche was not an observer, he didn't care what people were doing or what they looked like. All he was focused on was doing his own thing. Which was why it confused him to no end why Kusanali was managing to keep his attention right now.
At least, to Scaramouche. it was confusing, but the Dendro Archon knew what she needed to say in order to keep the wanderer's attention. Your name alone kept him focused on her words and she continued to manage to add you to the problem in order for him to find the solution.
"And that's why I think if we manage to get-"
The sound of a door slamming alerted both Kusanali and Scaramouche, along with the Traveler and Paimon across the room. Your flustered appearance entered the room, clearly out of breath from running all the way up here. Why did they put so many stairs leading up to the Sanctuary?
"Nahida. I am. So sorry. That I missed-" The sounds of your out-of-breath panting were in between every word you spoke, which eventually just led you to put your hands on your knees to catch it. You ran all the way up here as soon as you woke up, seeing the sunshine high in the sky and knowing you forgot to meet up with Nahida about the plan she had. Which led you to rush out in your pajamas, earning a few strange looks from passers-by on your way up.
"I had totally overslept and forgot about the plan..." Your words trailed off when you finally looked up and saw Scaramouche gleaming a bright red at your outfit. His eyes were anywhere but your own, examining your body like he was trying to engrave the image in front of him.
"Scaramouche? Are you okay?" Your voice finally reached his ears as he recollected himself from the shock, shooting his eyes back up to your own. The emotions that ran through were clear, confusion, embarrassment, and then finally anger. He shot up from his seat startling both Paimon and the Traveler, Nahida remaining unfazed.
"This is stupid! I'm out of here!" His voice trailed off as he stomped away from the scene. Knowing that when he was out of shot, another glance at your back would send him red-faced again.

Cyno found himself once again back in the desert visiting the Traveler and their flying white-haired companion in order to help with another quest. Back in the village of Aaru Village, the 3 traveled around asking about something the quest giver was looking for.
"And I told her there was no way I was falling for- Hey look, it's Candace!" Paimon exclaimed, pointing in the direction where the indigo-haired woman was walking. They managed to catch up with her after Paimon's screeching caught her attention.
She told them that she was going back to the main building where they had first gathered when the Traveler visited, saying she was finished running her errands and was returning back. Cyno nodded in silence while he let Paimon do most of the talking, letting his mind wander what you were up to right now.
The 3 entered the building and quickly helped Candace settle her bags onto the table. Paimon was just to go back to squeaking before Cadance quickly threw a finger over her mouth and pointed towards the couch in the corner.
There you slept, half off the couch with your pajamas nearly falling off your shoulder and hips. Cyno knew you were in the room since he entered, and didn't let his eyes leave your figure in the corner once. His face was blank, but anyone who knew him closer than others would know he was flustered by all means. Which meant Cadance's smile didn't leave her face either when she watched him move his eyes across your whole body.
"Cyno! Cyno!" Paimons voice returned to his consciousness and he quickly looked over at her, not before shooting an extra glance toward you again.
"We're leaving now? Are you gonna come with us?" She said, floating around in an impatient manner. He shook his head and spoke, "No, I have other matters I need to catch up with here as well. You can go on ahead."
The Traveler nodded before Paimon could complain and walked off back to where the original quester was waiting. Cyno turned back to you before realizing Cadance had left the room too.
You later woke up with the General Mahamatra's sleeping form in the chair near you, and a blanket covering your whole body.
alhaitham visited and cyno nearly broke his skull in when he saw his eyes shoot to your body

Masterlist
A/N: Mmhm. I went indulgent with this one. Oooh boy, like full detail, full emotion
Also, this is the playlist I listened to while writing this, highly recommend
Warnings: smut ahead
Dinner was delicious, little alcohol was consumed because they both agreed dealing with a hangover in the morning wasn't favourable for either of them. They said goodbye to their friends at the end, none of them the wiser of what was transpiring between Austin and Jade. Florence herself was too drunk to even notice Austin waiting in the shadows.
They started walking, where to they weren't sure really but it was in the general vicinity of Jade's hotel. The city was still abuzz with traffic, both foot and on the road, though there was a glow lacking from the shops. It was peaceful, however. Jade and Austin fell into step with one another, the silence thick but comfortable.
Her mind was half lust now, half sadness and she kept glancing at the scenery around them to distract her. Every now and then she'd meet Austin's eyes or -- better yet -- catch him observing something on the block with some inquisitive excitement and it pushed her further towards the idea of letting go. Their kiss, however brief it felt, had made her heart race again, everything else but his deep scent and the burn on her waist fading away.
"Are you a cat or a dog person?" Austin asked, effectively snapping her attention back to him.
"I'm sorry?" she quirked an eyebrow.
"I don't think we ever talked about it. You strike me as a dog person," he laughed.
"I don't know, we had a dog when I was younger. I always wanted a bunny, though," she grinned back.
"A bunny?" he chuckled.
"Yeah! They travel well, they love to play. And they're pretty eco-friendly, too," she replied.
"I see," he nodded, looking her up and down, "Yeah, yeah you strike me as a bunny person,"
"A bunny person? What's so bunny-like about me?" she asked, becoming more and more intrigued.
"I don't know," he simpered, blushing as he continued to babble on, "You travel well, you like to play, and I assume you recycle too,"
Jade smirked, "Play in what way?" she giggled.
Austin chuckled sheepishly, "Never mind," he replied, "You think you might want to adopt one now?"
"Maybe," she shrugged back, "I also always wanted a horse when I was younger -- said every little girl ever,"
"A horse might be a little bit harder to squeeze into an apartment," he said, "You ever ride?" he winked.
"A horse? No," she sighed, the desire to tease him building. She raised her eyebrow and watched him, "Can't say the same for some significant others,"
Austin swallowed hard, laughing under his breath. Her lips were pouty as she smiled at him confidently, lashes fluttering softly.
"Tell me something you haven't told me yet," he drawled.
Jade simpered, "Aside from all the other embarrassing stuff I've told you?" she asked, her head rolling back to look up at the sky.
"Give me one,"
"... I think Marvel is stupidly overrated," she declared.
"Very valid," he laughed.
"I've trained myself to get good at sleeping on planes. I'm on them enough. And..." she started to laugh nervously, "I um -- I was taking pole classes for a while,"
Austin raised an eyebrow, "Pole classes? As in...?"
"Pole dancing," she giggled shyly, "It's really good cardio!"
"Interesting," he noted in a way that only made her speak quicker to ignore his smirk.
"And I really dug your performance in The Iceman Cometh..." she admitted.
Austin nearly tripped over himself at her declaration, his chest warming again, "You came to see the show?" he asked, almost incredulous to the notion.
"Well... I was on tour. But a friend went to see it and she filmed some parts. I know, it's a taboo in a theatre, whatever," she simpered, "He sent me some of the clips and you were just phenomenal,"
"Thank you," he smiled, "Why didn't you say anything?"
"Why didn't you come and say 'hi' at Coachella?" she queried in response, feigning insult.
Austin nodded sheepishly, "Ah, very fair," he mumbled, now worried he had offended her.
"You know I don't hold that against you, right?" she asked, "I'm just playing,"
Her assurance put him at ease, he rolled his eyes, slinging his arm around her shoulders, "I think a bunny would suit you very well," She gasped happily at the notion.
"Okay, it's your turn," she decided, "Something you haven't told me yet,"
"Hmm," he looked up at the sky as he racked his brain, "I taught myself how to play drums,"
"Really?"
"I mean -- I'm not great at it. But I can carry a tempo," he said.
"So, if I ever needed a swap in for my band?" she smirked.
"Just give me the time and place," he simpered back, "Lemme' see... I once lost a bet and I had to sit through a Saw marathon,"
She gasped, "Nooo!"
"Yep," he nodded regretfully.
"All in one sitting?"
"I've never fully recovered," he admitted.
"What an asshole friend!" she exclaimed, "Even I'm not that mean!"
"You still like horror movies?" he asked.
"Not the super gory ones. The one I did with Flo was fun, but I've been kinda' growing out of it," she shrugged, "I think that means I'm fearless now?"
He laughed jovially, "Well, great! That means you can protect me!" he decided.
"Nay, fair squire! Doth shall never know thy terror of a poor budget slasher film when in my presence," she teased back.
He pulled her closer to him, partially to keep out the chilly nip in the air, but also just because he could, "My knight in shining armour,"
Jade allowed herself the luxury of staying in his embrace, no matter how fleeting it may be. She was endeared by his consistent humility, and how easily it was to make him go red. He couldn't help but smile back at her elation, fighting the urge to corner her against the wall again.
They slowed down as they approached Jade's hotel, the doormen had retired for the night and the hedge lights dimmed low. Jade had done many a foolish thing in her life, too many for her to count on one hand. Bringing Austin back to her hotel may count as another bullet on her list.
She still wasn't sure how they'd gotten to his point, all rational thought fleeting when they'd agreed to have one last night cap. The hotel bar was closed and the night clerk didn't give them a second glance as the pair slipped into the elevator, acting as orderly as they could muster.
They stood on opposite sides of the elevator, and Jade tried to focus on anything other than Austin: the buttons on the door, the ceiling tiles shining down, the mirror reflecting themselves back at them. Austin leaned against the wall, watching her intently, he could sense pick off how rigid and tense she'd become, her gaze pinned to the floor as he tried to meet it.
He let out a shaky breath, running a hand through his hair, his teeth biting the inside of his lip and he shut out thoughts of Jade he perhaps shouldn't have been. The silence between them was thick and unbearable, they both recalled how unorderly they'd been again. Unorderly, inappropriate, deliciously fun...
Austin couldn't stand the silence now, the complete contrast of the street, the vast opportunity for so much to be said and done was being confoundedly wasted by their won reluctance to cave. His self control and his attraction for her were battling it out hard. He stared at the panelled ceiling above their heads, his shoes, and then he found her face again, drawn to her features like a magnet.
"Jade..." he sighed. She graced him with a stare, her fingernails digging into her palm in a clenched fist as she processed her self control slipping away. They ascended floors slowly, time dragging out for the inevitable.
And then, what little of his self control had left vanished, and Austin strode forward to close the gap between them, her back pushed against the wall. His hands found her face without apology, the curve of her jaw slotting perfectly into his palm and though she couldn't bring herself to meet his gaze for fear she may combust, she leant into it so naturally, so comfortable. Jade's gaze shifted between her hands pressed into his chest to his eyes, the cool, shadowing blues she found melting her entirely and she had just about managed to catch her breath before Austin's lips were on hers, stealing away every thought with the way he moved them.
Her body thrummed with electricity, caught off guard, fluttering on the edge, her brain telling her how wrong it was but her heart pulsating at the speed of a bullet train. His hands slipped down to the sides of her neck to keep her close, instantly needing more form her, and he was willing to give it all in return if she let him. Her lips tasted like wine, ginger and decadence and he allowed himself as much as he could possibly get, so lost in her and yet so aware of the moment slipping away beneath his finger tips.
He then suddenly remembered who he was, who she was, and what he was doing -- and he flinched away abruptly, regretfully leaving her lips empty. His fingers trembled at her neck, his brows creasing with a look of genuine concern, terrified he'd crossed her boundary again.
"Fuck, I'm sorry," he huffed, puffing for breath, his forehead coming to rest against hers, "I'm so sorry," he repeated, not having found the strength to let go of her.
His lust contradicted his rationality over and over, he needed more of her but he knew the risks should he spend another moment with his mouth on hers. Jade let out a small laugh, making his heart thrum in a way it shouldn't.
"It's okay," she assured, though her voice was shakier then she intended. She tried to process the fact that his lips had been on hers again for the third time in twenty-four hours, how good it had felt, how familiar it was and how she didn't want him to stop.
"We're really not good at this responsibility stuff, are we?" she giggled, trying to lighten his mood.
He managed a comforting smile, "No. No we are not," he nodded, "But I don't want to spook you again, Jade,"
"I don't want to spook you!" she laughed incredulously, "And I don't want you to think I have any expectations of you,"
"I understand," his hands dropped to his sides, "You know that saying, right? Right person, wrong time?" His gaze was intense, cool sky blue, wide, searching for some sort of answer in her sweet face.
"It rings true," she said, "But... the time could be right, just for tonight?" her lips curled with an illicit joy, her heart pounding in her ears.
Austin stared back at her blankly, eyebrows twisted in confusion, as though he hadn't heard her or he'd blacked out entirely.
"Are you sure?" he asked tentatively.
Her whole body trembled with fear of the unprecedented, though she didn't waste a second longer revelling in her insecurities. Instead, she nodded confidently as she propelled herself forward with her desire and brought his lips down hers.
It took a moment for Austin to react, though when he did he moved against her with fervid determination. He'd tried his best to resist this, but right now he was too tired to try. He was so fed up of wallowing in second thoughts and guilt and his own depression, he had spent an entire year locking himself away and Jade was releasing him again. He could give in to his desire fully without fear of consequence. He shuddered against her as one of her hands found its way to the back of his neck, her long nails scratching along the shorter hairs and the sensitive skin. That shudder made her all the more ravenous for him.
His hands found her hips again, digging tightly into her to pull her against him, needing her beyond closer. Their kiss was hungrier now, open mouthed and desperate. His tongue danced effortlessly with hers, his breath hot at the back of her throat as he clutched at her dress, already torturing himself with the idea of what she looked like beneath it. Austin was unable to collect a single thought, form a simple sentence, find some string of words that could summarize the complexity of what he was feeling for her.
They only stopped to catch their breath when the elevator dinged and the doors slid open, beholding the hall to Jade's floor. Jade was completely enthralled with the dazed look in his eyes, becoming addicted to the bashful giggle shuttering against her mouth as he pecked her lips again. His thumb brushed under her lips, swollen from the intensity of their kiss.
"Are you sure?" he mumbled again, no fussing made as her hands pushed to slide his jacket off.
She nodded confidently, caught on the darkness of his faze before she managed to reply with a breathless, "Yes,"
Austin nodded in relief and disbelief, his shoulders slouching with the need for her, the idea of having her a way he never could've imagined suddenly so tantalizing and so delicious, the notion was threatening to tear him apart. He kissed her once more, smiling like a fool before stepping back so he could follow her trembling figure into the hall.
Jade was only thankful her room wasn't too far from the elevator, each step feeling like she would slip at every movement with how jittery she was. Rummaging through her bag for her key was a struggle to say the least, with Austin cornering her against the door and splaying gentle kisses across her neck. She gasped triumphantly when she finally found her keycard and opened the door, pulling Austin inside and flicking the lights on without missing a beat.
He squared his hips against hers, following her every step and maintaining his touch on her somewhere at all times. They tossed their jackets aside, Jade fumbling backwards towards the bed as Austin suddenly tripped over the corner of her suitcase. She caught him before he could take a fall, laughing amusedly against his lips as her fingers curled around his neck to hold him near. Their heartbeats thudded against each other.
Austin felt as though he had the wind knocked out of him, suddenly falling back and landing bottom-first onto her bed. Only then did he take a moment to breathe, to take her in as a whole. Austin's eyes had completely clouded over with lust, his senses overwhelmed by her and it must've shown in his expression.
"Are you okay?" she asked, a swarm of nerves still biting at her, her eyes were wide and curious.
"Yeah Jade -- I'm fine," he sighed, though he had to question the reliability of his own answer as he pulled her down into his lap and took her in another kiss; her nimble fingers beginning to unbutton his shirt. Her own lips moved to his jaw and descended down his neck, her warm hands now free to roam his toned chest for the first time. He helped in pulling his shirt off his shoulders and down his arms, tossing it aside in some miscellaneous corner of the room.
He was annoyed with her dress being in his way, pulling the long material over her thighs and up her waist. She gathered the material, pulling her dress and her grey long sleeve over her head so she was sitting in just her underwear; a simple black t-shirt bra and sleek red panties complimented by the plethora of floral and dainty tattoos.
She carefully studied Austin's face for the reaction she craved, some his nod of approval more important to her than she'd realized. Her fingers grazed across his jaw, she watched his eyes flutter softly as he ran his hands over her olive skin; long fingers traveled up her sides, stroking down her stomach, squeezing her thighs, slowly processing her before him. He wanted to kiss every inch of her, cherish her, assure her how incredible she was to him.
He fumbled to undo her bra, the soft fabric revealing more skin. It took longer than he'd have liked out of sheer nervousness, any cocky confidence he'd had quickly dissipated into smoke now that he'd found themselves here. Jade held her breath as he brought the straps down her arms, biting his lips at the sight of her perfect breasts. He cupped them gently, thumbs smoothing over the sheeny kin. Jade let go of Austin's chin to steady herself on his firm shoulders, her eyes slipping shut as he skimmed her nipples. He flicked them back and forth, rolled them, taking his time to ensure he could enjoy everything about her.
She let out a raspy sigh, her head lolling to the side and her fingertips squeezed his shoulders, "Shit..."
No stranger to teasing back, she slipped her hand into his pants and under his boxers, stroking over his head. She moved her fist slowly up and down his shaft, hiding her face in the crook of his neck as his breathing became erratic.
He was becoming obsessed with the way she responded to his touch, how she her touch was addicting, her hums and his sighs of pleasure more dizzying than any alcohol he could consume.
"How bad do you want this?" he drawled.
Her smile turned coy, answering his question as he took one of his hands and placed it on the inside of her thigh, "You tell me,"
Austin took her on it like a challenge, slipping his fingers higher up her smooth skin and tentatively stroking over the soft silk of her panties. She couldn't hold back her shudder as he stroked her over and over, the heat from her body was intoxicating and she smelled so heavenly that Austin never wanted to let her go. She lifted herself up so he could slide her underwear off, fully vulnerable before him, but the nerves dissipated as he swiped his middle finger up her slit. A small moan slipped from her throat, inhaling quickly.
"Fuck," he breathed out, "You're absolutely beautiful," and he continued to tease her, pushing into her little by little while he thumbed at her clit. Her hips undulated over him, matching his pace and wishing he move a little faster.
"And you're overdressed," she whispered, her chest unable to keep a steady pattern of breath.
He was taken off guard for just a moment, glancing down at his slacks with a dark chuckle. His fingers withdrew from her clit, much to her chagrin as she mewled in protest.
"How rude of me," he shifted so she would sit on the bed. She watched him stand and push down his pants, eyes traveling over the clear outline of his bulge inches boxers, her head beginning to spin. Jade was desperate, wanted to level the playing field a little. She reached out to touch him, smoothing over the warmth radiating off his skin and teasing the hem of his boxers with her finger, slipping underneath the fabric and snapping the elastic back. He simpered, amused with her toying, determined to wipe that smirk off of her face if it killed him.
His boxers were the next to go, though he waited for a moment as he took her in. Austin couldn't wrap his head around how beautiful and sweet she was, even when her expression and intentions were less than such. There was a split second of insecurity, he thought. A short moment of hesitation when he could see in Jade's eyes, she was thinking of covering herself. But she kept her shoulders square.
"What?" she laughed softly, bringing a knee up to cross over the other.
"Are you sure about this?" he cleared his throat, "Because we can stop if you want,"
Her chest tightened a little, her subconscious wondering if maybe he was having second thoughts, "I don't. But if you --"
"I don't," he assured, "I just -- I just don't want you to think I just want sex from you --"
"Austin," she chuckled, "I'm not asking you to marry me, I just want you to fuck me. It's okay,"
She was so brazen and yet so promising. He nodded slowly, taking a mental snapshot of the way she was shaking her head at him, her teeth biting down on her lip to keep back her bashful giggles, "Maybe you should take a picture?" she joked.
"Maybe I will?" he crawled over her, pressing searing kisses across her chest and down her stomach.
"Do it, and I'll kill you right here," her voice was airy, and he took it an ask ask to please hurry up and do... something. To push her legs wide open with his hands gripping under her thighs. She was wet and slick under his fingers, smooth and soft, he couldn't help but reach out and give her a taste. Her butt fit perfectly in his palm, his fingers tickling across her hips and up her side to fondle her breast. He wanted to absorb her into him and lick her dry, that was for his own satisfaction more than hers.
Her back arched as he pressed his tongue into her clit, her squirming stilled as he held her down by her hips. Her nails carded through his hair, scratching pleasantly in time to her hips rocking into him, she whimpered impatiently when he slipped a finger inside her.
It had been so long since Jade had felt this way, taken care of and treasured, and she tried to savour the moment, trying to calm herself so she wouldn't come too quickly. Had he always been so good at oral? Did he figure it out on his first go or did he work his way up? Jade's thoughts rattled off like ping pong as she watched him, the arm holding her open tense and she could pick out every freckle, every muscle rippling.
"Jade," he leaned back a little to kiss the inside of her shaking thigh. He took a deep breath, "Don't come yet," he lips brushed across her folds and his tongue dipped into her again. She squeezed her eyes shut, fingers clawing at the sheets to grasp for some stability. This wasn't fair.
"Austin," she tried to move but he held her down.
"Wait -- just a minute," and he sucked -- oh, God yes.
"Austin --"
"One minute,"
"I can't --"
"Yes you can,"
"I hate you,"
"No you don't," she really wished she did.
His voice ruined her, raw and husky, and edging on possessive. And he pumped his finger faster within in and she wanted to scream so badly. He devoured her wholly, flickering hard and fast against her clit and stroking just right in her channel. She lost her own battle as a sharp, tingling pleasure shot up her spine and down to her toes, the air knocked out of her chest as she was coming in airy moans and slow, strong contractions. Austin's chest tightened; he wanted to fuck her so badly, but he also could come from just watching her. He wanted to make her do that again; and he would have too if she didn't push him gently back so she could regain her self composure.
His sullen glance of compliance was replaced with rabid desire as she pulled him up. She was probably thinking the same as he had, never the less settling his weight on his forearms as he kissed her hard.
It was then she realized she was still wearing her stupid ankle socks. How lame, she thought to herself, praying that Austin hadn't noticed. But he was kissing her so good and she couldn't make herself care enough as she was still so sensitive, and it felt so nice to kiss him like this.
"Can I have you?" he chuckled, teetering on impatient. The smile playing on his lips made her heart skip a beat. Her head fell back against the sheets.
"Can you?" she pushed his hair out from his eyes, admiring his accentuated hairline, the smooth curve of his ears, the patched of stubble he'd missed when shaving, the crinkles around his eyes and all of the little details that made Austin so unequivocally handsome.
"Yeah," he muttered, hands squeezing her butt, "I want you,"
"Well, since you asked so nicely..." she giggled, feigning nonchalance with a shrug.
His fingers tickled up her sides and linked with hers, his body weight over her was heavy and he was so warm. He could feel his heart pounding at rapid speed as he aligned himself to her, rocking his hips to tease, nudging his head against her opening, and slipped inside of her.
They both exhaled. Austin brushed the tip of his nose across hers, smiling gently.
"Hi,"
"Hi," she smiled back.
Jade felt pliant, it didn't hurt but he wasn't too much for her. He felt just right; rocking into her at a steady rhythm and eliciting the most incredible sensations within her. He groaned into her neck, his entire body trembling with tension, so overwhelmed with how good she felt around him.
She bit down on his shoulder, sweltering under his abdomen, the echo of his breathing in her ear blaring like an alarm. He kissed her collarbone, lips brushing across the flower tattoo there, moving up to bite gently at her ear. She shivered beneath him, her walls contracting, squeezing him to keep him hard within her. In the span of just a few seconds his thrusts went from shy, exploratory, to quick and all-eclipsing. His hand slid into the small of her back, lifting her into him as he filled her again, and again, and again, rubbing deliciously inside of her. Pleasure reverberated up her spine.
"Is this okay?" he mumbled against her ear, making no measure to slow himself. She felt too good for him to initiate any self control.
She couldn't answer at first, nothing past a sharp gasp as pressure built within her.
"Jade --" he rasped.
"Yes," she cried out, her hips inclining up and she clenched around him, "Austin -- fuck yes!"
And with that, the last of his control fizzled out. A crude noise left his lips and he shuddered, pumping hard and breathing fast against her skin. Jade felt his orgasm searing within in, a scalding pleasure filling her as he trembled on top of her.
His hand came down on her hop to hold her into the mattress as he silently gathered all the energy he had left, kissing her with a ferocity she hadn't experienced before. Her walls fluttered as he delivered a series of hard, drawn out and sloppy thrusts, so sensitive and sore against her but he wanted to feel her come around him.
And then she couldn't hold out any longer, breaking their kiss as she fell into the elation of her own orgasm, the sensation she'd chased worth the wait. Austin slowed his thrusts to a halt, holding her close as she shivered beneath him.
His head fell against her shoulder, a heavy groan leaving him and he gently kissed the clammy skin. Her own whimpers were soft and fragile, strands of hair plastered against her forehead and he was gentle as he pushed them back. He pressed another kiss to her forehead, shifting onto his back to settle down.
She slowly turned her head to meet his gaze, one hand still interlocked with his but her free one she massaged through his hair, laughing to herself, "You don't know how much I needed that,"
He chuckled back and shifted closer, his muscles tired and sore, but he felt deliciously satisfied as he muttered back, "Me too,"

The Punk Prince And His Pink Princess P4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(YOU HAVE NO CLUE HOW LONG IT TOOK TO MAKE THESE PICS FIT!!) PART 1 PART 2 PART 3 CW: Hobie apologizing for his actions and being a simp, A man wearing pink, Enjoy, this might be the last part of this Anyways I refuse to word-count this
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He knew he need to find Y/N, but he panicked and stressed and ate one of the cookies she gave him. (HOLY FUCK! I MIGHT BE PUNK BUT THESE COOKIES HAVE MORE HEAT THAN ANY OTHER FOOD I HAVE EATEN!!) While he trusts Gwen, he felt like he should check her dimension. Hobie opened a portal. "Please, don't hate me" he steps through, stepping into the room. "Y/N..." he steps forward cautiously, scared of angering her. "I know I'm the last person you want to talk to but...." he took a deep breath (be honest Hobie, lying only helps when talking to cops) "I didn't know that was your Dexcom, and I was trying to be light-hearted when saying it was a GPS tracker and calling you fucking dumb" He went to try and sit on the edge of the bed, missing the mattress, his ass hitting the floor. He stood up quickly, his pride a bit hurt, but the snicker she had let out when he fell made it worth it. Suddenly she spoke, "Im ashamed of my Dexcom, its so bulky, it gets in the way of things, and the people who don't understand make fun of it or look at me with pity thinking it's something bad." she spoke above a whisper. hobies heart cracked a bit "You.... Feel like I embarrassed you?" he asked trying to understand why she was so upset. She nods looking away. Hobie stood tall and said demandingly "Then, embarrass me. Dress me up head to toe in pink, if that helps at all. I know it's not the same, but I really hate pink but ill do it if that's what will help patch this over with us" Y/n stood from her bed and went towards her closet. he got nervous when there was no response "What do you say?" he tried not to let his voice waiver. Y/n let out a dark and scary giggle "I say, you picked the wrong payback method, and now it's time to dress you up like Barbie" Hobie paused "I fucked up didn't I?" he said softly. Y/n put on a record she called bimboCore. She painted his nails, and picked out the outfit, giggling with glee. It was a pastel watercolor crop top that barely covered his nipples, some pink shorts, pink cat thighs highs, some pink makeup, a white collar with a white and pink bell, then to finish it off some Kandi bracelets. God he fucking hated this, He hated it more when Y/N took a picture with her Polaroid camera. the next few hours at HQ were rough, it even got stone cold Miguel laugh a bit. By hour 4 he was kinda into it, he even took a video yelling "FUCK THE GOVERNMENT AND FUCK GENDER ROLES" The next day, hobies plan was to kiss Y/N out of retaliation, but when he saw what she wore. He nearly dropped to his knees and started to pray to whatever god was out there thanking them. Y/N had put on a long straight-haired black wig; her clothes were a red and black plaid crop top and matching skirt, there was a black choker, fishnet tights, black platforms, and a black chain purse. To add to it, a red lollipop in her lips. (Holy Fucking Shit, She was already cute but now she is hot! That's not fair you can't be both!!) He walked over and without saying a thing he pulled her into a rough kiss by her collar, she didn't pull away at all she just accepted it leaning into him. "and just for the record" he hummed "I didn't fall for you, you fucking tripped me into your trap"
INSPO FOR THEIR CLOTHES (not exact, but where i got the ideas):
BONUS: HOBIE HELPS REPLACE DEXCOM *a week later* "So i need to go slow right? i mean its literally stabbing you and putting a machine on your arm" hobie said. Y/n laughs "NO The faster the better!" He sighs and quickly did the injection on her arm. "okay, now clip this in the plastic, this is the robot part" he takes the part from her scared and was quick to clip it in place. "now we add a cover, Also gwen ordered this weeks sticker as a tribute to last week babe" Y/N showed him a dexcom sticker that said 'GPS' on it. Hobie huffed "Thanks gwen" he muttered
So I’ve never written twilight princess zelink before, and I had an idea the other day that I really thought would fit them. So I went and wrote this, which, I don’t know if I really did them or the idea I had justice, but it was fun to write at least.
Twilight form Zelda anyone?
————————————————————
“Hey, is this the one you were looking for?”
Princess Zelda looked up from her desk at the paper Link held out towards her, and she gave him a small smile as she saw it was the correct one.
“Ah, yes that’s it. Thank you Link,” said as she took it, and he nodded back with a smile.
He was helping her unclutter her study in preparation for the upcoming harvest season, when her desk and all subsequent flat surfaces tended to get covered by numerous reports of crops and problems and countless other things. Not to mention the additional stacks of paper that kept appearing due to her upcoming wedding.
Of course, she didn’t really mind making space for those.
Link moved to a bookshelf and studied a stack of papers that had been set there at some point, his eyebrows raising as he stared at the tiny print.
“Good grief, what is all this?” he muttered, shuffling through them and thoroughly messing up the stack. “Food report, taxation census... some of this is from before I was born!”
Zelda raised an eyebrow at the papers that escaped the pile and the mess that her fiancé was inadvertently making, and she stood, walking over to him.
“Link, try not to make our job more difficult,” she chastised, leaning over and grabbing the papers he’d sent to the floor. “We’re supposed to be cleaning.”
She straightened up and stepped closer in order to set the papers back on the pile, but failed to notice another stack that had ended up on the floor, which she ended up stepping squarely upon.
Her foot slipped out from under her right as Link turned around, and she tripped right into him.
She let out a surprised noise as Link’s eyes widened, and he moved forward to try to catch her, but when she tried to catch herself her arm went out and hit his chest—
Suddenly Zelda felt dark dark magic race up her arm.
She cried out as she fell to the ground, clutching her arm to herself as the unexpected magic swept through her, clashing against her own innate light magic in a way that had her gasping in pain.
She faintly heard Link saying her name and maybe holding onto her, but a rippling agony distracted her from replying. Something foreign and wrong began twisting in her as her light magic clawed back, and her right hand burned as it wrestled with the curse ripping through her that felt so much like Ganondorf—
And then suddenly it was over and she collapsed.
Every nerve of her body hurt, and Zelda nearly passed out as pain coursed through her. She wheezed in a breath, but barely even managed that because everything felt wrong, even her mouth felt wrong when she breathed.
She tried again and managed to breath a bit easier this time, and worked on calming her racing heart while she also figured out what her current predicament was.
Something was very wrong, but that was all she knew so far.
Zelda attempted to move her arm, but it felt too light and yet too big at the same time, and when she tried her legs instead, they felt much too small, though her feet seemed especially large for some reason.
She groaned, but it came out as an odd cooing noise instead.
That snapped her out of what was left of her daze, and she opened her eyes to see her study was suddenly very large and in surprisingly intense quality, as was Link’s panicked face looking down at her. She looked at him, then down at her arm, and was only half surprised when instead of a human one, she found herself looking at a brown and white colored wing, with faint speckles of purple.
She was a bird.
“Zelda are you okay?” Link asked from above her in a frantic voice, probably not for the first time. He was cradling her in his arms, though she didn’t fit very easily so she must have been a fairly big bird. A raptor of some kind?
She hooted weakly at him, and tried to get to her feet, but her talons were unwieldy, and she wasn’t used to them at all. Combined with trying to balance with two wings instead of arms she couldn’t manage it, and chirped in annoyance.
Link gently turned her over in his hold, moving one hand to rest under her feet while the other continued to guide her upwards. She found herself automatically adjusting her claws’ grip on Link’s fortunately-gauntleted arm, and chirped again, a bit stronger now.
“I’m so sorry Zelda, I thought— I thought the shadow crystal was in my tunic, it must have slipped out— this isn’t good,” Link said, sounding distinctly panicked, “how did it— I didn’t think it could affect you, the Twilight didn’t, how did—“
Zelda watched Link clutch at his bangs, and gave his arm a small peck. He stopped talking and looked at her, and she gave him a stern look, one that told him it’s not your fault.
He took a deep breath, and ran a slow hand over her feathers.
“Okay. Okay. You’re... a bird. I turned my fiancé... into a bird. The crown princess of Hyrule is currently a bird, and it’s entirely my fault.”
He stared at her in dismay, and Zelda hooted gently, leaning forward to press her head against his and give it a gentle rub. She usually wasn’t so touchy, but speaking wasn’t exactly an option at the moment, and she could see the guilt plaguing him.
It seemed to help, and Link almost unconsciously raised a hand up and ran it gently down her head.
“How do we fix this?” he murmured in dismay, and Zelda chirped, trying to sound reassuring. She had an idea actually— once she recovered a bit further from the initial transformation, she might be able to purge the curse all by herself— but she wasn’t sure how to tell that to Link.
“The Master Sword would be our best bet, but I don’t think I can sneak you out. We’d be gone for at least a day, and it’d probably start a panic,” he murmured, and Zelda cawed and shook her head.
Link looked over at her as she carefully shifted her weight. “No? Not the Master Sword?”
She chirped again and Link frowned.
“Well then do you know a different way to fix this?” he asked hopefully, and she hooted, fanning her tail out.
Oh, that felt strange.
She wondered if she could fly.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door of her study, and Link and Zelda both froze, staring at the door, than back at each other as someone stood right outside.
“Your highness? Are you occupied?”
Zelda let out a quiet chirp at Link, and he quickly stood, making sure she was secure on her arm as he nervously walked to the door, pointedly dodging all the papers strewn about. He grabbed the handle, and Zelda slowly breathed out, attempting to appear as a normal bird.
He pulled open the door and a messenger stood there, looking only mildly surprised at seeing Link instead of the princess.
“Sir Link? I was told the princess was in her study, is she not—“ the man cut himself off, staring at the bird on Link’s arm.
He blinked, and Zelda blinked back.
“Sir..?”
“Oh, this is for, ah, a matter concerning the princess,” Link quickly assured, and Zelda ruffled her feathers a bit. “But as you can see she’s, uh... busy. At the moment.”
The messenger still looked confused, but nodded anyways, and Zelda had to stifle her amusement at Link’s technical not-lies.
“That is quite an unusual bird, I’ve never seen one like it,” the man said as he eyed Zelda’s purple and brown feathers. “Such interesting plumage.”
“She’s very special,” Link said with a twinkle in his eye. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen one more beautiful.”
Zelda casually stretched out a wing and batted him on the ear.
The messenger looked at her admiringly for a few more seconds, but then his smile slipped. “It looks a bit tired sir, is it alright?”
Link looked at Zelda, and she tried to look at him reassuringly. She certainly didn’t feel quite as horrid as she had initially, though the man was right. The transformation had been exhausting, and she was certainly feeling it.
“She will be,” Link murmured, and the messenger nodded, focusing his gaze back on Link.
“That’s good. Anyways, would you make sure her highness tends to these when she returns?” he asked as he held out a large pile of official-looking documents. “I’m told they need to be dealt with before tomorrow.”
Link fumbled to take them and not unseat Zelda, and she chirped in annoyance as she had to scoot up to her fiancé’s shoulder.
“I’ll make sure she gets them,” Link assured, then began to toe the door closed. “Thanks for the... paperwork.”
The man merely gave a respectful nod, then strode back down the hall from where he’d come from. Link shut the door and dropped the papers to Zelda’s desk with a sigh of relief, and looked over at her.
“Well. Good thing he didn’t particularly mind not seeing the princess,” Link said, and she scooted back to his arm. “Now whats your idea on how to fix this?”
She let out a chirp, and paused for a moment to stretch her wings.
She felt tired, but much stronger than she had a few minutes ago, and could probably try to expel the curse right now and likely wouldn’t pass out. But she wanted to try just one thing before transforming back. Who knew if she’d get the chance again?
She chirped slyly and leapt from Link’s arm into the air, surprising him into letting out a small noise of surprise as she flapped her wings.
And Zelda flew.
Her study was fairly large, and as Zelda spread her wings and glided around the room, she felt a rush of elation go through her. The wind in her face, the air slipping past her feathers, the feel of flying that seemed familiar and almost instinctual that sent her heart soaring...
She let out a happy cry, then her body reminded her she was awfully tired.
She glided the rest of the way to a bookshelf, and Link quickly ran over to where she was perched. “For Ordona’s sake Zelda, you could’ve warned me,” he grumbled, and she let out an innocent hoot. “I get wanting to try out your wings but sheesh.”
She flapped down to his arm again, and gave him a teasing peck before looking at him intently, preparing herself to fight back against the curse.
“Are you going to try something?” Link asked, picking up on her shift in attitude from teasing to serious.
Zelda chirped, and then closed her eyes.
She reached out for her light magic, then carefully pushed it towards the dark curse that was lurking deep in her heart. The moment they touched, the curse snapped back, baring it’s metaphorical teeth as her light magic quickly lunged to fight back.
She let out a pained cry, and Link immediately pulled her closer, watching her with a deeply worried expression.
“Don’t push yourself too hard,” he said anxiously, but all she could do was let out a strained whistle as she focused intensely on forcing the curse out. It clung to her form as if it had barbs, digging into her and refusing to be expelled. She pressed her beak tightly together and beamed as much light magic as she could all in one spot at the crystal.
She distantly felt Link catch her as her grip on his arm loosened, and she pushed as hard as she could against the curse.
And then something suddenly gave.
The blazing pain from before was back, but in reverse, restoring instead of twisting, and fixing instead of cursing, and she felt herself growing in size, doubling, tripling—
And then it was over, and Zelda collapsed into Link’s waiting arms.
“Zelda! You did it!” he said in relief as he lowered them to the ground, and she couldn’t help but let out an exhausted groan before resting her head on his arm.
That had been more magic then she’d used in a long time.
Link pulled her closer, and put a gentle hand on her face. “Are you okay? How do you feel?”
“A lot like I just spent ten minutes as a bird,” she said weakly, and Link held her closer, eyes running across her form like he was checking for damage.
“I’m... alright,” she murmured, and Link huffed, sounding completely unconvinced.
“Two transformations in the space of less than an hour doesn’t usually leave anyone feeling fine, Zelda,” he said gently, and swept a hand through her hair. “You expelled a curse I needed the Master Sword to purge from me the first time all by yourself. I’d be shocked if you weren’t exhausted.”
Zelda didn’t reply, a wave of fatigue rolling over her.
Link shifted his position a little so he could better cushion her, leaning his back against Zelda’s desk and pulling her up slightly. Zelda herself let out a tired sigh, leaning against his shoulder as she tried to push away the exhaustion.
“I don’t know how you manage to use that thing all the time,” she murmured sleepily. “Doesn’t it wear you out?”
He hummed a bit and leaned his head against hers, and gently took her hand in his.
“It did at first. I passed out the first few times,” he said distantly, and idly rubbed her hand with his thumb. “I’m truly impressed you didn’t, do you need anything?” he asked in a worried voice.
“No Link, I’m fine,” she said softly, and he ran a hand through her hair.
They were quiet for a few minutes then, Link holding her and Zelda trying not to fall asleep. She had things to attend to, she really didn’t have time to take a nap, even if she felt nearly as tired as she had after the possession and subsequent fight against Ganondorf.
“You’ve got a few lighter streaks in your hair now,” Link said after a bit, breaking the silence. “It looks nice.”
Zelda sighed. “People are going to think I’m going grey.”
Link chuckled, and pressed a kiss to her neck. “It’s not that noticeable, it’ll fade. Just tell them you did something a little different with your hair.”
Zelda went to reply but yawned, unable to stop herself.
Link’s face softened. “All right, I don’t care if you say you don’t need anything, you obviously need some rest. Whatever else you had planned for today’ll just have to wait.” When Zelda opened her mouth to protest he cut her off. “And I don’t care how important it is. You can barely move, you aren’t going to be able to do a good job.”
A wave of exhaustion went through her again and Zelda sighed, giving him a small nod. Link was right. She wouldn’t be able to get anything done in this state.
“May I have the honor of escorting you to bed?” Link lightly teased. “Then I’ll see what I can do about canceling your schedule.”
Zelda huffed in amusement as she nodded again, and Link started to shift her upwards. But the moment he did, her head started to spin, and every one of her limbs screamed in protest.
“Can we... not yet,” she groaned, and he immediately stopped and sat back down. Zelda breathed out a measured breath, feeling even more worn out.
“Yeah. We can take as long as you need,” Link breathed, and Zelda relaxed into his arms, closing her eyes.
Several minutes went by with her trying to get the pounding in her head to go down, and Link simply let her rest, waiting until she was ready. It took longer than she would’ve liked, but the headache finally faded enough for her to open her eyes again, and she gathered her strength, starting to sit up.
Link helped her, guiding her upwards as her legs shook and her hand in his trembled, and he gently supported her as they made their way across the room.
They’d only reached the door and Zelda was already exhausted, and Link paused, studying her face. He shifted his grip as if asking for permission, and Zelda leaned in, wordlessly giving it as he lifted her up into her arms.
“Thank you Link,” she murmured, and he pressed a soft kiss to her cheek as he started to walk down the hallway towards her bedroom.
“No problem Zelda. I’ll take care of things,” he whispered, and she rested her head on his shoulder as she started to drift. “Don’t worry about it. You can rest.”
She felt Link kiss her hair, and then she was asleep.
stepping stones to hell ch. 11
hello!! all previous chapters can be found here! also if you’re interested you can find it on ao3, i typically post there a bit before i can update on here.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
The next few days passed in a blur. They had played more kickass shows and this tour was honestly one of the most fun they had ever done. As the second week was coming to a close Robin realized she was sad there was only a week left. However, on the opposite side of that, she was excited to go home and see Nancy.
Just like the week before the two had talked nearly every day on the phone with the exception of Monday. Nancy had a busy schedule and had to fly out for an interview. However, everyday before that they hadn’t missed an opportunity to talk to one another.
She learned so much more about Nancy. She learned her favorite flower was a pink orchid. Nancy had also mentioned that if she had to choose her very last meal it would be her mom’s twice baked potatoes and Salisbury steak but  chicken cordon bleu was a close second.
There had even been a night where the band got to stay in a motel. That night Robin and Nancy had stayed on the phone until Nancy fell asleep. So Robin also learned how Nancy sounded as she fell into a deep sleep.
Robin had laid there for a while, phone pressed to her ear, listening to Nancy sleep before she finally hung up the phone and went to sleep herself.
It was finally Tuesday which meant they would have another day off tomorrow. Robin loved Nashville so playing a show in Franklin meant they were so close. She had already planned to make a trip out tomorrow and search all the local shops.
“Bubs,” Gareth called from behind Robin. She turned to see him holding up a cropped Dio shirt, her gray cargo shorts and a pair of fishnet gloves. “Eddie said wear this.”
“Why?” she sat down her eyeliner and stood up. She crossed the dressing room to take the articles of clothing from Gareth who gave a shrug in return.
“I don’t know. He said wear it. Something about how he dresses us better than we dress ourselves.” He added an eye roll for dramatic effect.
“Well, what are you wearing?” She looked over at his usual ripped jeans and Ozzy shirt.
“Me? This.”
“How come you can dress yourself?” she asked in an almost offended tone.
“Because I only spend a handful of songs out on stage.” He smiled before walking backwards toward the door.
Robin flipped her middle finger up and Gareth exited with a laugh. She waited for the door to close before she started to change into her new outfit. It was true, of course. Everything Eddie put them in was always their best looks. But, still. She at least had to pretend to be irritated because she would never admit to Eddie he was right. His ego was already big enough.
After she was in her newly assigned outfit, she finished the eyeliner she had been in the middle of when Gareth had come in. Digging through her make-up she found a dark red lipstick she decided to wear tonight. Usually she would opt out of dark make-up because washing her face on the bus was hard but tonight she would be in a hotel so it was the perfect opportunity to go all out.
She dug around her bag some more, pulling out some face glitter she had bought a couple months back. Eddie had shown her to dab some hair gel on her cheeks before dusting glitter on with a brush so the glitter would stay. She did as he had shown her before deciding on adding some to her chest and the exposed part of her stomach as well.
She took a few steps back, staring in the mirror. She looked really cool in her opinion. Feeling satisfied with herself she slid on her chucks before leaving the dressing room to venture to Eddie’s.
She knocked once before opening the door. Eddie was sitting in a chair and Steve was using a comb to tease parts of Eddie’s hair before spraying hair spray. “Damn, Bucks. You look badass,” Eddie grinned.
“Thank you! I thought the glitter added a nice touch.”
“Indeed,” he grinned.
Steve looked up from Eddie’s hair and smiled, “You look great.”
“Oh my god he learned to compliment you. It’s been years. This is incredible,” Eddie mused. Steve rolled his eyes and flicked Eddie’s ear who gave a dramatic yelp.
“What’s the occasion?” Robin asked, taking a seat on the floor in front of them. She motioned at her outfit then at Eddie’s more-eccentric-than-usual outfit.
Eddie bounced his leg quickly and Steve touched his shoulder, “Calm down.”
“We have guests tonight.”
“Who?”
“You’ll see,” Eddie gave a quick smile but it fell quickly. It was hard to read his expression but she was almost sure he was nervous.
She watched him wring his hands before he started to twist his rings. “Why are you nervous?” she finally asked.
Eddie bit his lip, “Do you know who played in Nashville last night that our record label invited to come to the show?”
“Who?” Robin raised an eyebrow, a little more confused now. The guest was an artist?
It wasn’t unusual for musicians to show up with VIP and watch side stage. In fact, they had met a lot of people in the industry because of their shows. However, Robin had never seen Eddie so nervous to meet someone.
 “Metallica is going to be here. James, Jason, Kirk and Lars. All of them.”
Robin felt her jaw drop. Why did they want to see Corroded Coffin? I mean she knew they were good but Metallica was huge. How often were they able to make time for smaller bands? I mean, it’s true, Corroded Coffin was on the cusp of pretty heavy fame. A whole sold out tour? 5,000 people every night? That wasn’t small.
Robin just stared at Eddie, blinking. “W-what? Why would you tell me that? What if I fuck up?”
“Pffft, not possible. You’re practically the best drummer ever.” Steve said in a nice tone. “See. Compliment.”
Robin rolled her eyes; she knew that was not true at all. She hadn’t even been drumming for ten years of her life. She was good, she did know that. She had practiced hard to get this good in the time since she started. But, she wasn’t even close to a legend. Not to mention everyone else in the band had been playing their instruments years before she started. “I’m gonna be sick.” She announced, standing up.
“Where are you going?” Steve questioned after her.
“To find a heavy traffic sidewalk to lay on!” She shouted back as she walked through the door.
*
To say Robin was nervous would have been an understatement. She stood in the hall, trying to hold her hands together to keep them from shaking. Which was nearly impossible.
Down the hall she could hear a group of voices approaching, one of which was Steve’s. He was introducing people as he passed them. She knew he was with the band. They must have arrived not long ago and he was walking them down since the show was starting soon. Damn. Steve was truly cut out for the management job. He sounded so professional and calm when he motioned at Robin.
“Oh, this is Robin Buckley, our drummer.” Steve said with a huff followed by a smile. Though he sounded collected she could see his eyelid twitch when he looked at her. He was hiding his nervousness considerably well.
James held out his hand for Robin to shake followed by Jason, Lars and Kirk. “Huge fan of you guys, it’s crazy you're here,” she said, trying to make sure the tremble in her voice wasn’t noticeable.
“Likewise. We were psyched to hear you guys were playing tonight while we were still in town. We’ve been trying to catch a show for awhile,” James offered with a smile.
A while?! What the fuck did that mean? Metallica knew who they were and apparently had known for ‘a while’. What. The. Fuck. This made her chest feel slightly cold. She couldn’t blow this.
James turned to say something to Eddie who gave Robin a huge, shocked smile. Robin gave him a thumbs up before starting her walk to the curtain. She could hear the crowd chanting for the band which normally thrilled her but tonight made her feel more nervous.
“Here,” Gareth said, meeting her with a bottle of water. He glanced at the rest of the band in disbelief where they stood conversing with Metallica. “Can you believe this shit?”
“No!” Robin said quickly in a whisper. “Like, what the fuck? Right? It doesn’t seem real. Them? Us? A while? What the fuck?” she whispered.
“Dude, I know! I thought Eddie was lying. I almost shit a brick when I walked out and seen Lars fucking Ulrich standing two feet away from me.”
Robin felt better knowing she wasn’t the only one shocked. She sighed and grabbed Gareth’s shoulder. “Tell me I can do this.”
“Are you kidding?” He placed both hands on her shoulders and shook her easily. “You’ve got this shit! You’re gonna go out there and blow their minds.” He ruffled her hair slightly before a crew member of the venue called for thirty seconds.
She bounced on her toes anxiously, waiting for the cue to go. It didn’t take long before she, Lance and Jeff crossed the stage with Eddie a few seconds behind. The room erupted in cheers.
She took her seat, unable to see much of the room from the lights spilling over the stage and moving quickly. She waited for Jeff to start, followed by Lance before taking her sticks and bringing them down, falling into her usual rhythm.
Fog flowed over the stage from the machines set up at both ends of the stage. The lights changed to red as Eddie stepped up to the microphone and started to sing.
Robin was trying hard to focus on her breathing as well as keeping her time. You do this multiple nights a week, you’re fine.
They’re normal people just like you, Eddie, Lance, Gareth and Jeff.
She pushed her foot against the kick pedal and blew out a breath.
The first song came to an end and they immediately fell into the second song. She felt herself becoming less nervous as the song finished. She rested her arms in her lap for a second after adjusting her in-ear monitors. Eddie always talked for a minute between the second and third song.
Gareth rushed some water to her as Eddie whistled into the mic. “Franklin Tennessee, holy shit. You guys have really packed the house tonight.” He paused, giving them time to cheer. “Tonight we have some very special guests in the house. Some back here and I also see a familiar face down in the crowd.”
Robin raised an eyebrow, trying to see if she could notice whoever it was Eddie was talking about. The glare of the light shining right down on him made it impossible for her to see around. “Anyways, we just want to say thank you guys for always showing up. Did you know this leg of our tour is completely sold out?” As Eddie continued Robin pulled out one of her in-ears so she could hear just how loud the crowd actually was.
Her eyes widened. This was the best show yet. Wait until Wheeler hears about this. She thought.
Eddie finished up his speech and the band started on the next song. Robin looked around at the fans as the lights started to dim finally. She saw a woman with short wavy dark hair smiling directly at her. Robin’s heart skipped a beat.
Nancy was here.
Robin couldn’t help but smile in her direction. No one else in the crowd would have known but Nancy did. She held up a hand and gave a small wave at Robin.
Robin smiled again before stomping on the kick pedal. Seeing Nancy here seemed to make all of her anxiety about playing this show ebb away. An overwhelming feeling of confidence washed over Robin and seemed to extend right out of her hands as she continued to play.
Focusing on the show as best as she could, she only took a second to wonder why Nancy was here while she stopped for water. She met Steve at the curtain for water as Eddie took the stage with Jeff and their acoustic guitars. “What’s Nancy doing here?”
Steve smiled and shrugged, “I don’t know.” Robin raised an eyebrow and Steve raised his hands defensively, “I’ll let her explain it. But dude! You’re killing out there. And those guys,” Steve pointed his thumb in the direction of Metallica, “are eating it up. Keep it up!”
Robin waited for Eddie and Jeff to be almost to the end of the song before running back out to her platform and sitting herself on the stool. Nancy was singing along to the song but stopped to smile at Robin when she watched her return. Robin smiled, looking down at her hands, she knew everyone could see her face turning red if they were paying attention to her.
As they started the last half of their set Robin couldn’t help but to continue to steal glances at Nancy. Everytime she looked at Nancy, she was bouncing around, never missing a lyric or beat.
Damn. Tonight was wild. Metallica and Nancy had shown up, more than likely to surprise her. She couldn’t wait to tell Nancy how this really was the best show so far.
Smaugust 2022, Day 30 - Taiyaki
Characters: Gepetto/Richard Dahl, Harley ‘Taser’ Hofelder
Prompt list: Found here
Taiyaki - Commonly sold as street food. Shaped like a fish and filled with some of the most popular sweet or savory fillings.
The ocean splashed against the pier, casting a salty smell throughout the air. Richard and Harley leaned against the railing. Richard picked through a serving of hot chips that he’d bought, glancing towards Harley. Harley was intently adjusting a pair of thickly-tinted sunglasses, pushing them flush against his face. Richard knew Harley didn’t do so well in bright light, but after being cooped up in work all day, Richard was glad to spend some time in the fresh air.
“Shoot.” Harley patted his pockets before looking at Richard, “Do you have Lulu’s present?” Richard nodded, toeing his boot against the bag between his and Harley’s feet. Harley breathed a sigh of relief, crouching to check the contents of the bag before standing again.
After closing the shop for the afternoon, the two had met up and gone on another one of their thrift store trips. It usually worked out well for Richard, as he sometimes found new items to stock in his antique store. They’d also picked up some gifts for their friends, and Harley had found another shirt with an obnoxiously loud print to add to his collection. They’d made a few more stops along the way, but the journey had led them here, standing together on the pier.
Richard shared some of his food with Harley. The two wordlessly enjoyed each other’s company, listening to the waves and the seagulls screeching on the nearby beach. Richard rested his arms on the railing, taking a deep breath.
“She’s going to race Dalmatian on the obstacle course again this weekend.” He broke the silence as another wave hit against the pier. Harley flinched back; Being a constant generator of electricity, he was cautious around bodies of water.
“Really?” Harley stole another chip from the cardboard container, popping it into his mouth with a chuckle, “My bet’s the same as last time. She’s going to thrash him.” Richard smiled.
“If he keeps challenging her, he has to be determined enough to win eventually.”
Harley shrugged, accepting Richard’s point. Despite the fact that Fall was a werewolf, Dalmatian knew the obstacle course like the back of his hand. Between the three of them, he probably had the best chance of beating her in the athletics department.
Out of the corner of his eye, Richard noticed Harley cross his arms as he looked out over the sea, a frown setting into his face. Richard half-turned, looking at him. It was hard to tell with the sunglasses, but Harley must have caught Richard’s eye, because he tensed slightly.
“Hey, Gigi…” Harley trailed off, and didn’t continue at first, even when Richard hummed in acknowledgement. He spoke slowly, tip-toeing around something Richard wasn’t aware of. “How are you all doing? Uh. In terms of fatigue…and physical injury.” Richard frowned.
“Fine? Why do you ask?”
“I- You know you guys fight a lot of evil, protect the innocent and all that. I’m always stuck behind because I’m the communications guy. I worry about you, that’s all.” Harley shifted his weight to his other foot as he spoke, keeping his gaze averted until the last sentence. Richard’s confusion didn’t lower.
“I thought you liked handling the technology side.” He said, and Harley jumped to clarify.
“I do! I do. I wouldn’t give up making tech for nearly anything.” He turned to face Richard, crossing his arms again. From where they sat, his fingers fidgeted with the fabric of his shirt. “But I’m always watching you three get battered and bruised out there. If Dalmatian didn’t have healing powers, I can think of a lot of situations that you wouldn’t have walked away from.”
“We’re being careful.” Richard assured.
“Not enough.” Harley told him, perhaps more firmly than intended. His brow creased softly. “Richard, please. I’m really worried.”
Richard fell quiet. Harley wanted him to genuinely consider it, so he did. It was true that Dalmatian got them out of quite a few scrapes. Dalmatian’s restorative powers worked on just about everything; people, buildings, machinery. Richard and Fall were probably just another part of repairing the collateral damage.
“I think we’ll be okay, Harley. We’re careful.” Richard finally said, “And I won’t let anything happen to them. Or you.” Harley pulled a face.
“What about you?” He asked, and Richard shrugged with a smile.
“I have you guys.”
Harley’s jaw set. He mulled for a second, and opened his mouth to speak again. He was cut off by a scream on the beach, and he and Richard both turned around to see people running away from the water in droves. A creature had breached the surface, 20 feet tall and scaly. Its gills flexed against the open air, and it opened its mouth, revealing rows and rows of sharp teeth as it let out a bellowing roar.
Richard sighed as Harley picked up the bag and slung it on his shoulders. Free time only lasted so long for superheroes.
“Call the others. I’ll find somewhere to change.” Richard said. Harley nodded and pulled a palm-sized object from his pocket. It resembled the dotted wings of a ladybug, and when he tapped the surface, it unfurled legs and antennae and started to hover by Harley’s shoulder. He dashed off with the robotic assistant, speeding away from the pier. Richard watched the evacuating people for a split-second before running to find a public bathroom.
Harley might have wanted him to stay safe, but he didn’t have much of a choice.
Another kinda small one for part 8~ uwu But the idea itself was kinda cute, and it's playing off something I was writing for the main timeline but didn't finish yet because it was smut. But a few of you who have been following my twitter for a while may remember the idea after this!~
Just ignore the title. Title isn't the best.
*Warnings?: Some internal thoughts??? Prego belly/body image stuff
Summary: When going to take a much needed shower, Emelia notices something she really didn't before.
Tumblr media
Emelia moved silently through the small tunnels to the center of the factory cavern. While she hadn't done much, the feeling of general bodily discomfort had returned once more, and the desperate need to be clean sent her off. She wandered through the halls with a towel and extra clothes hugged against her chest, occasionally glancing at the monitors along the tunnel floors until one finally sparked to life. She froze at the light, turning towards it immediately.
"Where are you going?" Heisenbergs voice came through the speaker, more cautious than curious. She held up the towel.
"Shower." She said simply before shrugging. "You're welcome to join, you could probably use one too this late in the day."
There was a moment of silence before the speaker sparked to life again.
"... I'll... think about it." he replied quietly. "Be careful."
And just like that, the monitor was off. She stood in front of it for a moment before giving a huff, not even attempting to hide the mild disappointment she felt.
"Alright then..." she muttered, though simply shrugged before continuing on her way.
---
The showers weren't too far away from the room, thankfully, and so the 'trip' wasn't all bad. She now stood in the surprisingly bright area, some of the fluorescent lights flickering ever so slightly as she set the towel down. She actually quite enjoyed the showers down here compared to the one on the surface... More room to move around and more sources of water. She could have turned all the faucets on if she wanted and run around like a naked trip in the rain and it wouldn't have mattered.
She hummed quietly as she started to strip the baggy clothing she had worn, given to her by Heisenberg to fit mostly properly as time went on. She stepped out of the pants around her ankles before looking up again- and she froze. There was a flat, reflective piece of... something. It was a dingy broken mirror she had never cared to look at until now, the cracks providing an interesting pattern along the surface. But it wasn't the cracks or the rusted frame that caught her attention... Nor was it the light reflecting off and occasionally making spots on the ceiling and walls when she moved. No, what caught her attention was the reflection, itself. The reflection was mostly clear despite the cracks, and it was... her. It was her, but she noticed the difference much quicker than she had anticipated;
Her gaze instantly fell on her slightly swollen belly, now large enough to be incredibly noticeable that it wasn't just regular weight. Her once fatty yet muscular abdomen was now rounded and protruding from her hips, the top nearly meeting the underside of her breasts, which had also gotten somewhat noticeably larger.
Of course she had noticed all this before, simply by feeling and walking- but she had never seen from a full reflection.
It... it was her. This was her. The belly, the body, the reflection...
It really was real.
She felt the sting of tears as she stared at herself, turning slightly and pressing her palm to her stomach. She had been hunched over so much recently that she didn't notice exactly HOW much the baby had grown...
How much SHE had grown.
There was a small feeling of fear in her chest, but it was quickly overshadowed by the sudden rush of joy and... excitement. It was like a dream some true... Something she had wished for for years. Something that was now truly a part of her life.
She refrained from jittering too much, her attention only torn away from her reflection as she heard some of the pipes seem to rattle.
"Bloody hell..." she mumbled, though kept most of a smile on her face even as she moved.
She hurried to the water that now ran hot, sticking her hand under before stepping under the stream fully. But the image of the reflection still lingered in her mind, even as she let the water run over her. Sure, she had noticed the growth. She could FEEL it grow, and god knew she looked down at it enough to notice. Even her posture had changed slightly when she sat up or stood straight now, and it still changed every day-
But now she saw it fully. She saw it for what it was, and it overjoyed her to no end.
She forced back the tears as much as she could, though felt a few slip through, even in the water.
It wasn't until she heard an odd rhythmic clinking that she was broke out of her euphoric trance. She looked towards the entrance, her brow raising in surprise as she watched Heisenberg wander towards her; clothes and the prosthetic had been removed, and he used the usual pipe for balance.
"You decided to join...?" She asked quietly, and he shrugged. He stopped a few feet away, quickly turning on one of the other shower heads.
"Thought about it. You were right." He said simply, cranking the heat up just as much as she had. "Long day, figured it would help-" he then suddenly paused as he looked at her face, his own expression falling slightly as he caught sight of the tears.
"What's wrong?"
His voice came quick, and she stared at him.
"What's..." she started, only realizing as his eyes never left her face. She reached up to wipe at her cheek even in the water before clearing her throat. "O-Oh, uhm... N-... Nothing. It... It's nothing. I've just been... emotional lately, is all."
"You're sure?"
"Yes."
"... alright."
He went silent once more, and suddenly the running water was all that could be heard. Though he was standing right there, he still felt... far.
Emelia glanced over a few times, only pause as she caught him staring. It was a look that admittedly worried her somewhat, and the flicker in his eyes as he glanced down at her stomach for a split second made her swallow hard. She paused her movements, though looked down at her stomach before resuming them.
"It, uhm... It's growing well..." she said quietly, running her hands through her hair. She nearly felt him flinch as he did the same, though she continued. "The dizzy spells have lessened considerably... And I've made a few things."
He glanced over again, now somewhat curious despite keeping his distance.
"Oh...?"
"Mmhm." She gave a light hum. "Small things here and there out of some scraps... But I did make a bassinet and a crib."
Even he couldn't help but snort at the proud tone in her voice, though he said nothing. They remained quiet until she finally sighed.
"I suppose I'll go back now..." she mumbled, and he froze.
"What?"
She let out a nearly sad chuckle.
"I'm clean, Karl. I wasn't as dirty as I usually would be after a days work... You seem to forget you won't let me work." she replied.
He watched as she reached to turn of her own showerhead before moving past him, wringing out her hair and grabbing the towel she had brought down. He remained silent, his eyes focused on her movements. She dried as much as she could before moving to wrap the towel around herself, though paused as she glanced to the side and caught sight of the broken mirror once more. The reflection still stared her in the face as she looked at it, even as the surface was fogged from the steam. It was still her, and it was still real.
She couldn't help but smile again, giving a light hum- though was very aware of his eyes staying on her. But it didn't bother her, even as she kept her own eye on the mirror while wrapping herself.
"Karl?" She asked, making him jerk out of the small trance he had been in. He gave a questioning hum, and she finally looked back at him with a calm expression that nearly made him take a step back.
"May be a bit odd, but could you potentially obtain a mirror?"
He stared at her.
"Uhm... Y-... Yeah, I suppose I could." He answered slowly, moving to rinse himself off. "Any particular reason why?"
He frowned as she smiled.
"I suppose I enjoy looking at myself now." She said simply, looking back at the mirror as he froze in place. "I would take this one, but I'd rather nothing broken for now... Not until I can teach them not to touch, you know."
He flinched again, but nodded.
"... Sure." He replied quietly. He looked away as she looked back at him, and her own smile wavered. Did... Did he think she was talking about him...? That it was a euphemism? She could never tell what he was thinking anymore, especially hiding his face.
"Physical objects, Karl." She affirmed softly, watching as he shut his own water off. "Infants as I know them are very... 'grabby'. You wouldn't want them touching broken glass."
"I know." He mumbled, and she sighed.
"Karl, I wasn't talking about-"
"I know." He repeated sternly. He paused for a moment, however, and sighed. "I know... I'll find one. Duke might know where to find one."
He spoke quickly as he grabbed the pipe against the wall, using it to walk over. She kept her eyes on it, though remained silent. She only moved as he reached for his own towel, backing away before turning.
"I'm excited for what you can find, then." She nearly whispered, leaning to pick up her old clothes before starting to walk away.
Heisenberg kept his head down as he dried his own skin before wrapping the towel around his waist and lifting his arm. A small pulse of his power brought the prosthetic leg into his palm before he looked up at her back, and a small lurch in his chest made him speak up again.
"Emmy." He spoke somewhat loudly, enough to make her pause. She turned as she heard more quick clinks of the pipe against the floor, almost surprised to see him behind her. He held the prosthetic and pipe together with one hand, his fingers fidgeting on the other.
"... Yes?" She asked cautiously, and he kept his eyes on her.
"I..." He struggled to find his voice again. Why the fuck couldn't he talk to her?
A brow lift from her made him sigh, and she jumped as he slowly lifted his free arm. She nearly made a noise as he suddenly reached forward and grabbed her arm, carefully bringing her to his chest in an awkward one-armed hug.
"... Be careful." He said finally, pulling away as she nodded stiffly.
"Always am." She replied quietly, glancing over at the mirror again. She let her hand move over the towel along her stomach before looking back at him with another smile. "Don't forget the mirror."
He glanced over at the mirror as she did again, and he froze. Her eye wasn't on him... it remained on her stomach as her expression remained calm, and suddenly he understood why. Never before had she enjoyed mirrors... Even he knew she hated looking at herself in them. But now it wasn't just her... Hell, it wasn't even him. Now she saw what she had always wanted, always dreamed of... And he couldn't help but admit to himself the anxiety and even jealousy that came with it.
He simply nodded despite his thoughts, keeping them to himself as he always had been. As it felt he always would.
"I won't."
Tumblr media
Over the next two weeks, two more videos were filmed. Both without kissing and not going any further than getting each other off without having sex, but also still as mind blowing as the first.
Bucky wanted to experience that high he couldn't reach himself. That no one else had gotten him to.
He didn't tell Steve or Sam about anything that had been happening, he knew there would be teasing and it would also blow the 'Soldat and Cherry' cover, so it became another unspoken rule.
He stopped trying to muffle the sounds he made as he watched the videos and ditched the headphones; making it obvious to you that he was still subscribed to watch videos that he could easily ask you to send him.
But, the sounds you could hear through his bedroom door were nothing compare to the ones muffled by the plastic mask when it came time to film another video.
A long talk about boundaries and keeping things casual, is what lead to the filming of the fourth video. Making sure both of you promised it would stay purely in videos. Nothing more.
Even as you laid against the throw blanket that covered your bed, completely bare besides the mask and wig as he tugged the glove on his right hand off. Bucky kept mentally repeating the promise.
Goosebumps prickled your skin when the cold leather and warm skin of his hands glided up the insides of your thighs, his cock twitching and eyes staying locked in on the glisten of your slit. His thumb ghosting over your clit to elicit a soft moan. "Don't tease." You exhaled, shifting around slightly under his piercing gaze.
Humming in response, Bucky ran two fingers through your folds. Coating the pads of his fingers with your slick before circling your sensitive bud.
The skillful work of his long, thick fingers had you convinced that your own would never be the same. The way they curled and stroked against your walls in the best way as your hands clutched the opening of his leather jacket. Quick to have your back arching from the mattress.
"Is my face in the shot?" Bucky said lowly when he leaned down so his face was inches from yours. Your eyes looking to the small screen on the side of the camera to see his hair shielded his face. "No."
"Good, wanna kiss you." His gloved hand reached to pull the mask down, the steady thrust of his fingers on his right not faltering. "Ok, just don't stop." You nodded, catching his plump lips in yours.
The taste of his tongue just as you had imagined it to be when it slipped between your lips to press into yours. Both minty and sweet.
Bucky swallowed every sweet sound he pulled from you, making sure not to break away from the breathless kiss until you had rode your orgasm. Your teeth nipping at his bottom lip as your hands pressed against his chest. "Mask on and lay back." You mumbled against his lips as he removed his fingers.
Bucky's mind was racing just like it was the first time as you moved over him, his hands holding your waist and heart thumping away against his ribcage.
He always thought that all sex would feel the same, but this was different. He had a certain proud feeling when you whimpered softly once he was fully sheathed into the tight warmth of your cunt, the instant flutter of your walls making him groan softly.
You had never had such a full feeling, his tip brushing your cervix as you swiveled your hips. Laying your hands flat against his taut chest to keep steady and letting your head lull forward.
Starting slow and working up to a faster pace when you had adjusted as his hands slipped down to hold your hips.
It was hard to keep focus, the feeling of every ridged inch sliding against your walls sending sparks of pleasure through you starting to engulf you. Trying to pinpoint the pitch of Bucky's moans and pants to know when to slow down.
His fingers curled into the flesh of your ass, hips rolling gently under you as the swirling in the pit of his stomach started. Only to fade away when your hips slowed into a grind, his eyes snapping open to meet your hooded ones as you gave him a wicked smile.
Bucky lifted a hand to hold the back of your neck, pulling you down to whisper in your ear. "You're edging me?" He mumbled, biting back a groan when you wiggled against him. "Be a good boy, Soldat."
He couldn't deny the warmth that washed over him from the two words he told himself wouldn't have an effect on him, muttering a few curses in Russian as he moved his hand back to your hip.
The tensing of the muscles in his thighs quickly started again, his release being held off until he was desperate.
His head lifted from the pillow, brows scrunching up as he tried to guide you faster, your movement nearly stopping when he did. "Please, dear God, cherry." Bucky whined as his head fell back against the pillows, chest and neck flushed and sweat slicked. His mask not helping the hot huffs of breath that fanned right back into his face.
You knew he could easily overpower you if he wanted to, and that's what made it even better. Watching as he tensed and wiggled under you in attempts to get the release he wanted- but he knew it would be worth it in the end. Being able to push as deep as he could go and fill you with his spend until you leaked around his base, would definitely be worth it.
Your throbbing clit ached for some kind of attention, but you weren't done with your fun of watching Bucky crack under you. The sturdy man muttering to himself to let him cum as his warm hand groped at your chest, gloved left caressing your waist and backside.
Needy whines promising he'd be good, telling you how amazing you felt stretching around him. Until his pleas and praises were enough to snap the coil.
Your fingers digging crescent moon shapes into the smooth skin of his chest as your orgasm took over completely. Mind fogging over for a brief moment.
"Oh, god- B-" your bit down harshly on your bottom lip to stop his name from rolling off of your tongue, falling forward against his hot chest as the aftershocks took over and you buried your face in the crook of his neck. Giving him the opportunity to chase his own high.
Bending his knees to plant his feet flat against the mattress, Bucky's hands went under your ass, letting out a shaky breath as he chased his own high with rigorous thrusts that made you keen against his flush skin.
"Shit- oh, fuck- so good, cherry." He grunted, gripping your backside as his hips pistoned up into yours, quickly reaching his high. A guttural moan vibrating through his chest when he filled you with hot spurts of his release.
His hands stayed on you until you were out of his reach to turn off the camera, looking over his blissed out form one last time as he felt for the edge of the plastic face covering.
"Holy fuck..." He panted, almost ripping the mask from his face. "Good?" You giggled, slipping on one of his shirts that was on your dresser as he sat up. "Great, best ever." Bucky chuckled, eyes wandering down to where the tops of your inner thighs glistened from his spend leaking onto them before the hem of the shirt blocked the view.
"Beat you to the shower." You grinned, squinting your eyes at him as you backed towards the door. "That's not f- wait!" He called when you slipped out of the room, standing to follow after you.
"I wasn't paying attention, that wasn't fair." Bucky pointed a finger at you with a frown that made you laugh lightly. "Better luck next time."
🍒 🍒 🍒 🍒 🍒 🍒
The next morning went as normal, Bucky left for work after breakfast, you took a trip to the grocery store. Only this time, you came back with something to talk to Bucky about.
He gave you a bright smile when he walked in the door, long legs carrying him over to where you were on the couch before he swiped the remote from your lap.
"Buck, I need to talk to you." You sighed, turning in your seat to face him. "'Bout what, cherry?" He said, shifting to be more comfortable as his knees parted more. "I, uh, I have a date next week so... I'm gonna do the next video solo." You nodded.
Bucky felt a pang in his heart, he promised everything was purely for videos, but he couldn't help the sliver of jealously that tainted his veins. "Does that mean- we're not gonna film together anymore?" He asked quietly, muting the TV so you had his full attention.
You sucked in a sharp breath and shrugged your shoulders. A part of you wanted to say no to the man at the store who asked you on a date, but he was nice and handsome.
"I don't know. This guy seems nice and all but, it was more of a- I don't want to decline your invitation because you're sweet, so one date won't hurt." You said, looking at where you hands were tugging a string on the couch cushion. "And you don't want to feel guilty about having sex with someone else days before the date. I understand." Bucky nodded his head, giving you a sweet smile.
"Thanks, Bucky." You mumbled, patting his leg before scooting closer. "Who is it?" He said, narrowing his eyes at you and hoping it didn't seem like a 'who's replacing me' type of question. "Cashier at the supermarket."
"He is pretty nice. Gives me extra coupons when I go." Bucky said, scrunching his nose up. "You're not mad, are you?"
He quickly shook his head and gave another smile as he wrapped his arm around your shoulders. "Of course not, all for the videos, remember?"
Chewing the inside of your cheek, you leaned further into his side. "Yeah... for the videos."
Motion Sickness, Xu Shangqi
Yes, I wrote this out self projection. I myself have a very weak stomach and can therefor very easily and quickly catch motion sickness.
For those interested about what motion sickness is and what it means for me: Quick story of it, my stomach cannot stand a lot of motion, especially when my brain is unaware of the direction my body is moving in. I get nauseous and light headed and just feel the bile rising up in my throat. So when I go on long car rides for vacation and I cannot see the navigation, I could easily throw up in the car in a matter of seconds. When I sit on the wrong side of the car, I get sick. When I look anywhere else but outside in the car, I get sick. When the car is taking turns instead of driving straight ahead, I get sick. It’s really annoying and it’s still something I struggle with a lot. I get it on amusement rides, rollercoasters, boats; even when I just move around to quickly or too much. So when I was watching that scene in Shang-Chi where they drive to Ta Lo, all I could think about was how terrible I would’ve been in that situation. And it inspired me to write this (stupid as it may sound.) Yes, I am aware there is medication for this, but it happens a lot of the times and would I keep using and buying it, I would spend way more money than I actually need to. I only use it for long car rides and boat trips.
Fanfic, female! reader
Fluff, bit of angst
Tw: SPOILERS, motion sickness, description of nausea, lightheadedness, description of vomiting, rising temperature, half consciousness, self projected, description of losing consciousness (but not really), Shang-Chi being worried, established relationship, use of Y/N. Also, I could not find the script anywhere, so half of the dialogue is probably wrong.
Summary: When escaping Wenwu’s home, you join the ride to Ta Lo, even as you are aware that you get severe motion sickness in cars and most definitely will end up throwing up later. Shang-Chi knows this and tries to help, but you can’t talk nausea out of someone. Upon arriving in Ta Lo, you’re barely conscious and Shang-Chi gets concerned.
Tumblr media
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Shang-Chi asked, as you sat outside the car you just escaped in.
The ride from Wenwu’s home had been difficult to say the least. You got very nauseous in car rides, and you knew that, yet you wanted to be there for Shang-Chi when he would travel to his mother’s village. It was already clear it was not going to be an easy journey, but you insisted on joining the ride.
At the moment, you were catching some fresh air after the eventful car ride earlier. You forced your nausea down, smiling up at Shang-Chi.
“Oh yeah. I’ll be fine.” You assured, standing up and taking a deep breath in.
“You know you don’t have to come along.” He tried again, but you ignored his offer.
“I said I’ll be fine.” You insisted, walking back towards the car. Shang-Chi let out a sigh of defeat before opening the door to the passenger seat.
“Actually, Trevor was going to sit there. Seeing as he kind of holds the information and stuff.” Katy said, gesturing towards the man behind you two.
“He can do that from the back.” Shang-Chi said, but you shoo’d him, opening the door behind the passenger seat.
“I can sit here too.” You announced, sitting down before your boyfriend could say anything about it.
“Y/N-“ “Don’t Y/N me.” You interrupted. “If I get sick, it’s my own damn fault.”
He groaned before stepping in on the other side, his sister seated between the two of you.
“Is something wrong?” She asked, looking towards you with a worried glance.
“She gets sick in car rides.” Shang-Chi announced, putting on his seatbelt.
“Don’t worry.” You reassured her, “If I’m going to throw up, I’m going to aim for Shang-Chi. You’ll be fine.”
“You’re going to throw up?” She questioned, frowning at the statement.
“I’ll try not to, if it’s any consolation to you.” You offered, throwing off your jacket before bundling it up and letting it rest on your lap, holding it against your stomach lightly.
“I hope you’re strapped in. Morris tells us we need to leave now.” Trevor announced, simultaneously making Katy push the gas.
As you’re driving, Katy keeps a steady pace, causing a feeling of relief to wash through you. If this was going to be the pace you’d keep during the ride, nothing could really go wrong.
In front of the car, the trees suddenly started to separate, creating a road for Katy to drive on. You gasped at the sight, having never seen anything like it before.
“This is so cool.” Katy quietly awed. You hummed in agreement, staring at the greens out of the window.
“Morris says you might want to speed up.” Trevor announced, looking at the rearview mirror. Katy followed his look, before letting a curse word slip and speeding up. All three of you in the back quickly looked behind, eyes widening at the sight of the trees closing back.
You turned around the second you saw what was happening, not ready to move forward while looking back.
“Take a left.” Trevor instructed.
“When?” Katy wondered, sparing the man a single glance.
“Now!” He ushered.
Katy took a sharp turn at his words, causing you to immediately grab hold of the handle on the door. Xialing and Shang-Chi both fell towards your side, not having prepared for the turn. You let out a little chuckle at the sight of them, but stopped as the familiar feeling of nausea hit you again.
“Right!” Trevor instructed. Yet again, Katy listened to him, taking a sharp right turn as the woods split into two again.
You had yet to let go of the handle, but you figured it might the closest thing you’d get to grounding at the moment. You felt Shang-Chi’s eyes drill holes into your head, but you refused to look at him. Instead, you kept you eyes on the window outside, knowing shooting your glance anywhere else might lead to some unfortunate consequences.
“Right again!” And at those words, the car stumbled around. Your stomach started feeling heavy as your head grew lighter, but you refused to acknowledge it, silently wishing for it to be over soon. You knew what would happen. You brought this upon yourself and you had no one to blame but yourself. You were in this now and you would not complain about it.
“Left!”
The next turn came completely unexpected to you, causing you to lose grip of the handle and the jacket on your lap, your hands trying to hold onto the seat in front of you.
As the car was on a straight line again, Shang-Chi quickly leaned over, grabbing your jacket and handing it to you, before opening your window slightly, allowing fresh air to fill the car. He shot you a silent look before returning to his seat.
“Drive faster!” Trevor urged, looking in the rearview mirror again. The forest seemed to close in behind you in an even faster rate now.
Katy just followed his lead, pushing the gas pedal down all the way. The car was hurled forward as your stomach began to flip. You leant your head against the window, your jacket pressed tightly against your stomach.
“Right!” Trevor yelled, the wind that blew into the car now becoming louder than his voice.
As Katy followed his directions, your clothes began to uncomfortably cling to your body, your hair slowly sticking to your forehead. You felt the bile rising up your throat, but you swallowed it back down, knowing there was no way of stopping now.
As Trevor kept shouting instructions, you began to wonder when this maze would end. It had been more terrible than you predicted. Perhaps the nausea of the earlier car-ride still lay heavy on your stomach, which only increased with the current journey. Or maybe the fact that there were no blinkers or navigation used, made your brain confused and uncomfortable, leaving you with a sickening feeling. Perhaps it was a combination of both.
Had this been a bad idea?
Definitely.
Would you ever confess it?
Never.
“Close the window!” Trevor yelled to Katy, holding his hands over his ears.
“Do not close the window!” Shang-Chi shot after him, holding his hand beside Katy’s seat, leaving her unable to access the window buttons.
Your head rested against the backside of the chair in front of you, trying to keep the dizziness at bay, but with every following turn, you felt that uncomfortable substance rising back up. Your head felt too light to lift it now, but your stomach forced you to keep it up before everything would come back out.
You let your head fall towards the window, keeping it up in order to swallow everything down again. The sour feeling stung your throat, nearly making you gasp in uneasiness, but you did your best not to show it. The open window that provided you with fresh air, had begun to lose its purpose, now only filling you with a loud pounding in the ears, every other word suddenly passing by unheard. It wasn’t until you felt a warm hand on the one that clung to your jacket, that you moved your head.
Before even looking, you knew it was Shang-Chi, but there was little he could do for you now. He didn’t say anything. Instead, he held out a bottle of cold water and a plastic bag. You gratefully took the offer, taking small sips from the bottle before placing the plastic bag on top of your jacket, just in case things would go sideways.
Your hands had grown all warm and soggy, nearly gliding off of the fabric. Your shirt was now nearly glued to your back. The hair you had refused to put up earlier was now suffocating your neck with a heat attack. You could feel the sweat of it fall down your body, making you move uncomfortably in your seat. A sharp ringing filled your ears, your vision showing black dots from time to time.
The car increased its speed suddenly. You had no idea what was happening, but you closed your eyes, not willing to look outside anymore. You needed your focus on your body, trying so desperately to maintain it.
Katy’s screaming disturbed the ringing in your ears as you felt an annoying banging against your brain.
And just like that, the car stopped moving. Heavy breathing was heard all around the car, but you had yet to open your eyes. The nauseating feeling was far from over. You figured it was best to continue driving before you would have to experience everything again.
“Everyone okay?” Katy asked, which went answered by multiple hums.
“Morris says to go right through there.” The man in front of you announced.
“Through the waterfall?” Katy asked incredulously.
“Yes.” Was the simple answer.
And then, the car was moving again. You heard the window beside you shut, but you made no intention to open your eyes yet.
“Y/N?” You heard Shang-Chi ask, but you ignored him, waving your hand towards him in a “let it go” manner.
How long the car had been driving afterwards, you did not know. You didn’t look outside, the earlier trip still heavy on your stomach. It wasn’t until the car suddenly stopped, that your stomach decided enough was enough, and resorted to throwing everything out.
You were hunched over the bag in your hands, the vomit slowly leaving your throat, much to your discomfort. You felt two gentle, yet unfamiliar hands wrap around your hair before tying it in a simple pony tail.
Your body felt as if it was on fire, your shirt definitely drenched by now. You tried to catch your breath, but you threw yourself back over the bag before you knew it. A second round falling out just as terrible as the first one.
You could hardly comprehend the door beside you opening, followed by a hand slowly, but steadily rubbing your back. You kept yourself above the bag, even though you were fairly sure you were done now. You began tying it, but it was taken from you before you could grab the ends.
As you unbuckled yourself and stood back up, black spots appeared in your vision again, making you stumble outside, before forcing you to sit down, your back against the car.
“Babe, can you hear me?” You faintly heard, making you hum silently, leaning your head against the car too, your eyes closing again.
“Are you okay?” He asked again, the voice now nearer.
“I just threw up twice. What do you think?” You mumbled.
Your statement went ignored, a soft hand being placed on top of your head instead.
“You’re burning up.” He remarked, untying your hair and wrapping it in a bun instead, making you sigh in relief.
“Give me a few minutes.” You stated quietly.
“Can you give me that bottle of water?” You followed up in a whisper. It was quiet for a moment before you felt the cold bottle back in your hands. You finished it quickly, handing it back when you were done.
“Do you need anything else?” He wondered again, his hand softly touching your cheek.
“A cold shower.” You mustered out, throwing your head forward, making it rest against Shang-Chi’s chest. “And a few painkillers.”
A low chuckle escaped his throat as his hand rested on your back, making you since slightly at the hot and sweaty shirt now being pushed against your body.
“Can you move yet?” He whispered patiently, letting you go, though he allowed your head to keep resting against him.
“Give me a moment.” You muttered, one of your hands falling to your stomach as if it would calm it down.
“That’s okay.” He answered, shifting a little bit before resting his head on top of yours, one of his his hands connecting with the one that was on your stomach.
“Xialing is doing the talking anyway.” He explained, his second hand falling to your neck and stroking it affectionately.
“Tell me when to get up.” He proposed, letting you pick your time and comfort.
You hummed in response, happy to be in his arms back on solid ground. You tried turning in your position, but your body quickly show down the idea, fresh nausea returning fast.
Shang-Chi understood what you were trying to do, luckily. He grabbed your waist, carefully turning you around, making your back rest against his chest.
“You’re drenched in sweat.” He noticed aloud, though that was the only thing he did about it.
Your head fell back in the crook of his neck, making Shang-Chi smile and rest his head against yours. Your hand tried reaching for his, even though you could not see anything right now.
“You want more water?” He misunderstood, his voice vibrating through his chest.
You just shook your head lightly, grabbing his arm and letting your hand slide down it until your hand connected with his. He squeezed it in comfort, before wrapping his arms around your body, holding you against him tightly, your hands toying with his fingers.
“I’m tired.” You whispered. “Do you mind if I fall asleep right here?”
Once more, Shang-Chi chuckled. “Of course not, babe.”
“Thank you.” You mumbled, sinking into his arms, nausea slowly subsiding as your mind finally drifted off.
You were glad he had been understanding, instead of cocky and full of himself at the moment. He did not mention your stubbornness earlier or your stupid comments. And you were thankful for that. You were far too tired or nauseous to deal with these comments now. They’d have to wait until tomorrow morning. Besides, a cold shower was next on the agenda, whether Ta Lo had that or not.
Hello there! Thank you for writing all these amazing headcanons! <333 I get so much joy when there's a new post from ya!
I had a prompt in mind: what are the gang members like when they get reaaaaly drunk? Who gets sad & sentimental, who gets all funny and jokey, who is all sleepy, and etc etc etc?
now this is an interesting one hehe
Arthur
When Arthur's drunk, he does his absolute best to try to convince everyone he isn't that drunk. He tries to walk in a straight line to prove he’s ok but accidentally walks into Uncle.
He somehow has great hearing and joins in on every sing song within a five mile radius. Arthur could be talking to you on the outskirts of camp but if he hears someone singing by the campfire, he joins in immediately.
He gets into a very jolly mood when he's drunk and talks about anything and everything. He rambles on about so much he interrupts himself a lot.
If he's sweet on you then Arthur asks to hold your hand and he won’t stop holding your hand for the e n t i r e night. No matter where you go or what you do, Arthur will potter after you with his hand still holding yours. And whenever you look at him, Arthur has a big, proud smile on his face as he looks at your hand in his.
Charles
Who is this man? Where tf did Charles  go? He acts very differently than sober Charles. Whatever idea springs to mind, he wants to do it. If he wants to do interpretive dance in the middle of camp then that's exactly what he does or if he decides to go skinny dipping at 4am then off he goes, trying to find a lake or a river.
One second Charles could be laughing so much he's nearly crying, a second later he could start sobbing because he remembered that time he accidentally shot a lawman's horse when he was trying to aim for the guy. Please hug him.
It doesn't matter how drunk Charles is, he can still yeet anyone over Mount Hagen and he can go from fun and goofy to deathly intimidating in under 1.5 seconds.
And if you and Charles are dating then he just wants to kiss you. He kisses your temple all the way down to your jawline before kissing back up to your ear.
Dutch
Dutch gets quiet when he's drunk. He just kinda sits there and stares off in a daze for ten minutes. When someone talks to him, it's like he buffers for a few seconds before responding.
But when he starts talking, good luck trying to get Dutch to shut up. And this man needs everyone to stop what they're doing and give him all of their attention when he decides to say a speech. And if one person stops paying attention then Dutch storms off.
Dutch really does believe he's unstoppable when he's drunk. And if you don't believe him then don't worry, Dutch has no problem spending three hours explaining how all of his plans are apparently bulletproof.
If Dutch is sweet on you then he tries to flirt with you. But the more he drinks, the harder it gets for him to string a sentence together. "Your eyes..." he slurs his words but tries to stay composed "they remind me... of uh... eyes".
Micah
Micah is so goddamn laid back when he's drunk. Strangely people tend to get on with Micah when he's drunk but by the time he's sober again he's gone back to being... well, Micah.
He's nice ? Which is so bizarre but he actually makes an effort to talk to people without antagonising them and instead of taking offence to comments, he laughs them off and sees it as a joke.
As long as the conversation stays light, Micah keeps his happy demeanour and he isn't even a bad loser when it comes to poker and five finger fillet. In a way, seeing Micah so friendly unnerves some of the other gang members because of how baffling it is.
If he's sweet on you then Micah will continuously asks if you'd like to sit on his lap. Of course he flirts with you but he's a lot sweeter than normal and tells you that you could definitely do better than him so he understands if you reject him.
John
John comes out of his shell when he's drunk. Instead of keeping his mouth shut, he says whatever he thinks of. Yeah he gets into more fights cause he doesn't know when to stop talking.
He can fall asleep anywhere and at any time. You could be chatting with him by the campfire and slowly feel him lean against your shoulder as he starts to softly snore. He once fell asleep while standing up right with one of his hands on a barrel for support.
When John tries to go to sleep when he's drunk, he's like a kid trying to go to sleep at a sleepover. John loudly says the most random words and makes random noises before he bursts out laughing, thinking it's the funniest thing in the world.
If John has a crush on you and he's drunk, he tries to be so helpful. He constantly asks you if you need anything. If you ask him to get you something then he walks a few feet away before completely forgetting what you asked for.
Bill
Let's be real, Bill's already a hothead when he's sober and he's exactly the same when he's drunk. He's very fast to start a fight but if someone lands one punch then that's Bill done for the night. Usually he's a better fighter but he has terrible balance when he's been drinking.
He tries to be productive when he's drunk, thinking that now's the perfect time to do some chores and to go on guard duty. Everyone knows better than to leave Bill go out on watch when he's like this. One time he tried to shoot a squirrel cause he thought it was going to run into camp.
Bill rambles a lot too, mainly telling stories from when he was in the army or reminiscing about different robberies he's done with the gang.
Bill can get really anxious so if y'all are in a relationship, he needs your comfort. His mind starts racing and he worries about little things so for you to be there and tell him everything is alright truly means a lot to him.
Javier
Javier gets very goofy when he's drunk. He's keeps things light hearted, joking about things but is still able to hold his tongue when needed and have proper conversations too.
Honestly, Javier is probably one of the most level headed people in comparison to the rest of the gang but because he tends to stumble and get his words mixed up, people presume he's completely wasted when he's had a few to drink.
This man LIVES for those 2am deep and meaningful conversations. He absolutely adores having them and being drunk helps him open up more about his feelings so he has no problem expressing his emotions.
Are you ready to be swept off of your feet, both metaphorically and maybe literally depending on if you'll leave Javier do that? He's such a hopeless romantic when he's drunk. If camp is near a field or woodland then he sneaks off, picks some flowers and shyly gives them to you.
Sean
Sean manages to go through every mood when he's drunk. Everything is funny to him and he tries to make jokes about whatever comes to mind. Usually he jokes about Bill and Micah which leads to one of them arguing with Sean.
That's when Sean gets angry and thinks he's able to knock out anyone with one punch. Normally he ends up accidentally walking into a table or tripping over himself cause of how focused he is at punching the air.
Then Sean gets all sad and sentimental, feeling sorry for himself cause he accidentally bruised his leg. He has no problem sitting on the ground and pouting for a while, hoping that someone will walk past and give him some attention for a while.
If y'all are dating then Sean will tell you over and over again how much you mean to him and how much he loves you. He just wants to cling on to you for the night and make sure you know how loved you are.
Hosea
I hope you're sitting comfortably cause Hosea's gonna tell you every single goddamn story he can think of. Hosea tells you funny stories, sad stories, how he first met John and how he conned rich people. He really likes to reminisce when he's drunk.
Towards the end of the night, Hosea eventually gets quiet and if there's a party at camp where everyone is celebrating, then he goes off by the outskirts for a while.
Hosea likes to sit back and watch as everyone enjoys the night. He can get very sentimental when he does this but he likes to enjoy the little moments of the night and savour it all.
If he’s sweet on you then Hosea makes sure you know how special you are and that you deserve the best. He doesn't necessarily flirt with you but instead wants you to know how great you are.
Sadie
When Sadie drinks, she gets sad. She doesn't mean to get sad but her mind wanders and she thinks a lot about everything that's happened in her life and how she's ended up where she is today.
She doesn't speak a lot and ends up getting stuck in her head with thoughts whirling around and around. It can get overwhelming which is why she isn't that keen on getting completely wasted on alcohol.
She doesn't like how crowded camp can get so instead she likes to go off and find a nice scenic area to rest. Normally that helps calm her mind but Sadie also gets sleepy by then too.
If Sadie likes you and feels comfortable around you then she leans against you as ye both sit there in a peaceful silence. And if you suggest it, then she'll hesitantly rest her head on your lap and fall asleep as you play with her hair.
Kieran
Kieran doesn't get drunk often. He hates waking up the next morning and wondering if he pissed anyone off or said something he shouldn't have.
He's very happy when he's drunk, only seeing the positives in things and always smiling. Kieran is still a little shy but he's more open to being involved with what the gang's doing, whether that be singing along to some songs or dancing with whoever to Dutch's gramophone.
Because of how involved he can become with the gang when he's drunk, he can get involved in a few fights or arguments. But contrary to popular belief, Kieran doesn't back down and makes sure to get his points across.
Kieran gets more confident after a few drinks and flirts with you more than usual. The more accepting you are to his comments, the more he flirts with you. Though if you flirt back then he gets very flustered.
——————
Long ago, there were two beings on Earth, Adam and Eve. They were created by God and tainted by Lucifer, the serpent. The serpent found himself in love with God’s creation, Eve, for she bears a striking resemblance to his first love, Lilith, whom God cursed and sent away.
God’s most beautiful angel, Lucifer, fell in love with Lilith even though he was forbidden by God to do so. He tried to fight for her in a war against the angels of Heaven, but was struck down to Hell where he could rule the dark. He saw Lilith become a demon. Her beauty had gone away as God made her ugly and it hurt Lucifer to even look at her anymore.
And so, Lucifer turned to Eve and loved her instead, polluting her mind, body, and soul and thus, causing her to be cursed by God as well. She was hidden by God from Lucifer. He grew angry and decided to continue to defy God by living on Earth and causing havoc on both small and large scales.
He went by the name of Jaehyun now, a strikingly handsome bachelor with a mansion on the outskirts of a popular city. He stayed on Earth at the exact point above hell where his throne rested so he could cause evil to run through the city unstopped.
He never forgot about Eve. After all these years, his soul still yearned for her. He cursed at God for hiding her from him and for taking not one, but two of his dearest loves away.
He would walk through the city and see all the couples enjoying each other’s company. They’d laugh and smile and he’d wish nothing but pain for them. If he couldn’t be happy, why should they?
Then one day..he saw her..he saw Eve.
————
You were packing away fruits, placing the oranges in an organized pattern so they wouldn’t fall to the floor of the supermarket. He saw you, delicately picking up the spoiled fruits and placing them into the bin to throw away later. You had a small smile on your face that made you look sweet and your fingers were soft, gentle. You looked at each fruit with adoration in your eyes, like you treasured the round balls of nectar as if they were made of gold.
He walked closer to you, still staring intently.
He wondered how you could exist, how you were here with her face, her body, her hair..you were her. It didn’t take long for him to notice the sparkling ring on your wedding finger. But he didn’t care about that, now that he had you, he would never let you go.
Even if you didn’t sound like Eve or looked at him the way she did when she was in love with him, he had to have you.
“Hello, can I help you, sir?” You turned to the man you noticed had been hanging around you for a bit too long.
Your voice was heavenly, it was the best thing he’d ever heard.
You were looking at him, awaiting his answer when you placed an apple onto the shelf. You didn’t see that placing it in that exact spot would cause for another to fall. But Jaehyun already knew.
He quickly knelt down beside you and caught the green apple as it fell.
You looked down at him and gasped. How could he move so quickly.
He stood up straight, still locking eyes with you. A smile creeps across his face.
“Here.” He hands you the apple as you look down at it still in shock.
“Oh..thank you.” You chuckled and took it from him, then started to walk away after feeling..odd.
He walked towards you. “Umm..excuse me, miss? I’m new here, and I just want to know..where can I find the best coffee?”
He looked down at your name tag.
“Y/n..” he says quietly.
His voice is smooth and nice, just as nice as his perfect face, you thought it ought to have been carved by God himself. His jawline was perfect and his eyes were magnetic, you couldn’t look away.
However, you should’ve. You were married after all.
“Oh..hmm about five blocks south, you’ll find Johnny’s Café, it’s quite nice actually.”
Jaehyun wanted to ask you to join him, just so he could talk to you, just so he could get close to you and have you firmly in his grasp, never to let you disappear again. But he didn’t, he decided to wait, if he scared you away, that would only make it worse for not only him, but for you as well. The last thing he wanted was to hold you against your will just because you resembled her.
“Thank you, y/n, I’ll see you next time.” He walked close to you and nodded slowly. As if hypnotized, you never let his eyes go while you nodded.
He walked by you, leaving you breathless and almost star struck, but who was he? Why did he have this interesting glow about him that made him stand out from everyone else?
Later that day, Jaehyun followed you home. His black Lamborghini wasn’t discreet to say the least, so he had to trail behind a few hundred feet. He could see you jamming out to music in your car as you left work.
You were adorable and happy, he loved seeing you like this.
He parked far away from your house, he walked over in a long black trench coat and watched as you went inside. You were greeted by a man that looked like...Adam..
His eyes grew into glowing red orbs, he tried hard to hold back his horns and nails.
“This is God’s idea of a joke, isn’t it?” He spoke to himself. Not only were you the exact replica of Eve, your husband was an exact replica of Adam.
You hugged your husband, Kun, hard and smiled widely, happy to see him after a long day at work.
The door clicks shut and Jaehyun stands there with steam escaping his hot ears. He had to figure out how to get rid of Kun.
————
[The Next Day]
You’re lugging around a large box of lettuce through the aisles when you see him..again.
“Hello, y/n, do you need help?”
You stare at him. “W-what are you doing here?”
He was handsome, you had to admit, your heart couldn’t stop beating like crazy when he showed up. He was stylish in his turtleneck and jean jacket. He smelled refreshing like amber and honey.
“What? A man can’t shop for groceries?” His dimples peeked through as he smiled and tilted his head.
“Oh-no it’s just, two days in a row?”
You furrowed your brows when you sensed something wasn’t right.
Jaehyun could tell that your heart rate was rising because of his presence, you looked around like you were nervous.
“I know, it’s weird, right? But the truth is..I just wanted to see you again..” he said huskily. You felt your chest weaken.
You put the box down and turned to him. “Oh so you’re one of those creeps? Well, I’m flattered but..I’m also married.”
“That’s alright..” he gave a small smile, his dimples showing through again. You turned away.
“So...what are you looking for today?”
“A friend.”
“A friend?” You chuckled.
He swayed from side to side and looked up to the ceiling. “Okay, I’ll get to the point..there’s a..korean barbecue place that I wanted to try..are you free after work?”
He was so strange but had an aura about him that you couldn’t ignore. His features were sharply defined and his eyes never let you go. You should’ve been creeped out but you weren’t, for he was warm and intriguing. Lately, you felt like Kun was so busy with work. You’d get home and wait hours for him, your friends were busy as well as they were either taking college classes or travel king constantly.
Sometimes, you felt you were alone, so why not start something new.
You hummed before answering.
Jaehyun watched your cute expression, the way you looked to the floor and stuck your hands in your apron.
“I guess..I am free after work.” You nodded.
Jaehyun nearly jumped up and down right inside the store. He grinned from ear to ear.
“Just don’t pull any moves, I’m married okay?”
You teased and felt your face become warm.
“I promise I won’t.”
The two of you went to dinner at the Korean barbecue place Jaehyun wanted to try. He was enraptured by you, caught up in your presence. He was so in love and you had no idea.
You told him about places to visit in the city and he told you about where he had come from. He made up a city and a backstory to relate to you, telling you that he had investments that started from his grandparents and that’s how he made money.. He’d do anything just to keep speaking with you, even if it meant lying.
He fought hard to hold back his naturally glowing red eyes and goat-like horns. He had to remain normal so you could become his soon enough.
And when you left him and went home, he stayed outside of your house once again, using his elevated hearing skills to listen to you speak with your husband.
Kun was talking to you about some new project he had in a city about two hours away. You stayed silent, disappointed that he would be gone yet again for a business trip. Kun was the senior architect and had to present, he couldn’t skip out on these trips as much as he wanted to.
“Listen, baby I’m sorry but you know how it is.”
Kun stepped into the bathroom as you brushed your teeth. He took his shirt off as he was about to shower.
You spit water out into the sink and look at your reflection, you were trying hard to hold back your anger. Kun stood behind you and watched you through the mirror with a concerned expression on his face.
“If I knew you were going to be gone all the time, I wouldn’t have married you..”
Kun scoffed. “Don’t say that, you know you don’t mean that, y/n.” He wrapped his arms around your waist and smirked through the mirror.
His hand went to your breast and cupped it.
“I mean it, Kun, how is this supposed to work when we have a family? I want us to both be present for our kids.”
Kun kissed along your neck, he knew you were ticklish.
You started to giggle. “Kun..stop, you’re distracting me.”
“Ahh baby, did you just say “our kids?” Are you trying to tell me something?” He squeezed your breasts gently
You turned to him and kissed his lips. His other hand reached under your frilly nightgown, bunching it up at the waist, and to his satisfaction you wore nothing else under it.
“Should we start right now? Should we have a family?” He brushes his clothed erection into your back as he presses his fingers over you already dripping folds. His deep voice always got you like this.
You gasped and looked at him through the mirror. Soon you were gripping the edge of the counter and crying out his name as he fucked you from behind. He grabbed your hair, pulling your head back so you could look at him through the mirror as you came all over his girthy cock.
Jaehyun heard it all, he imagined it was him bringing you to sweet paradise like he did long ago. He listened to your moans and imagined it was his name you called as your eyes rolled in the back of your head.
It pained him to have to pleasure himself as he imagined all that he would do to you. He was Lucifer, after all. He could have anyone in the dark world pleasure him without even asking twice, but he didn’t want just anyone. He wanted you, and soon he would have you right in his grasp.
————-
[1 Month Later]
Jaehyun was a regular customer at the supermarket you worked at, he’d come in at least once a day. You found it odd that he always knew when your breaks were, so he’d bring you coffee or a snack.
If he didn’t visit during his break, he’d wait for you outside so you’d go to a new place for dinner together after you clocked out.
You spoke about everything. He seemed so smart as he knew about every detail in history and taught you about the world and why things were the way they were.
You watched him intently, your eyes grew when he told you something so interesting, your heart started to race. Like the presence of aliens or ghosts and witches. They all existed and Jaehyun told you all of the evidence as you sat there, stunned.
And then, it was his turn to ask questions.
He finally asked about your husband, even though he knew everything about him.
He knew that he had a short temper sometimes but your fights would either lead to make up sex or him sleeping on the couch. He had watched you every night since finding you. He didn’t sleep, for even the thought of closing his eyes and losing sight of you made him sick to his stomach.
“My husband, Kun, is an architect. He works really hard, but he loves me and I love him. He’s really sweet, I never stop thinking about him. We got married about a year ago, and I couldn’t be happier.” You smiled as you looked down at your hot pot as thought of Kun.
“Ahh..that’s nice..he seems like a supportive partner, during your first year of marriage, have you fought a lot?” Jaehyun tilted his head while smirking.
“Nope! We don’t fight at all, we’re pretty chill, you know?”
You were lying to him and he didn’t like that, but he swallowed hard and smiled nonetheless.
“I see..” he nodded.
He realized that he’d have to work harder to get you to stop thinking about Kun. He’d have to sabotage your current relationship if he ever dreamed of being with you soon.
Killing him would be too easy, he’d have to make Kun so bad, that you’d run to him for relief.
———
[A Week Later]
You kissed Kun goodbye and wished him well for his trip. He quickly kissed you back and walked through the front door without a hug.
“Honey?” You called out to him. “Where’s my hug?” You pouted.
He threw his hand up and continued to walk towards his car. “Sorry, baby, gotta go!”
He had been acting strange these past few days, but you knew he was stressed so you brushed it off. You had had sex the night before but he wasn’t as gentle as he usually was, you could tell something had upset him as he choked you for the first time. You didn’t mind it, you were just surprised by how...different he was.
Little did you know that it was Jaehyun that was making his daily work more difficult. Kun’s important documents and files would go missing right before a presentation, his coworkers weren’t showing up for work, and his boss was always upset with him for some reason. He was starting to dislike his job and he wasn’t sure why, for this was his passion, but lately, everything seemed to be going poorly.
Kun was having difficulty sleeping as well. He’d have disturbing dreams of a place with fire and monsters with sharp teeth. He’d sweat and pant, and eventually be jolted awake in his bed, every night at 3:23 A.M. he’d go downstairs and watch something on TV or write down a few project ideas.
The lack of sleep definitely contributed to his poor mood, but he didn’t tell you for some reason.
Jaehyun watched Kun speed off. He smiled to himself, knowing that his plan was working, he was getting frustrated at work and began taking his anger out on you.
————
[Four Days Later]
You continued to spend time with Jaehyun. You lost track of time as you watched him speak. His dimples were adorable, his voice was intoxicating and you loved staring into his deep brown eyes.
He watches you play with your wedding ring as you nod and smile at him. His smile was like a blooming garden, his laugh was like heavenly trumpets. The two of you were flirting now, and he could tell from your heartbeat that you weren’t really listening to him, instead, you were fantasizing about him. The glances turned into stares.
You watched his lips and licked your own, your face was hot, but you furrowed your brows and looked down at your ring.
What were you doing? Were you getting emotionally attached to him? You couldn’t do this, you couldn’t hurt Kun.
You got up from your seat. “Well, it’s late.. I should go.”
“Noo.. don’t leave yet.” Jaehyun stood up and touched your hand. The disappointed look in his eyes ate away at your heart. You were developing a nice friendship, but a part of you was afraid that it was becoming something more, something that couldn’t be.
“You look stressed. Do you want a drink?..we can visit that new bar in town.” Jaehyun bites his bottom lip.
A drink did sound nice, it had been a while since you and Kun went out to a bar together and sometimes you did miss the atmosphere, you were young after all, everyone else in their early twenties went out.
Jaehyun smiled to himself as he saw you contemplate your options. He knew you were worried about Kun, but he also knew you needed to have some fun.
So you agreed.
The two of you went out to a bar and drank. You laughed and joked around all night. Jaehyun pretended to be affected by the alcohol, just so he could make you laugh and see your beautiful smile.
He dropped you off home at about 1 A.M after you sobered up a bit.
You turned to him and licked your lips. “You know, Jaehyun, if I weren’t married to Kun..I would date you for sure.” You giggled and leaned in close. And all Jaehyun could think was “yes.” He wanted to feel your plump lips so badly, he wanted to caress them and make love to you to relive the best days of his life, but now was not the time.
He backed away and held your hand while searching your eyes. “Y/n...you should go inside now..”
You sighed, nodding as you opened the door to quickly leave before you could embarrass yourself any more.
You go into your house and to your surprise, Kun is there, his face red and stern as he sat on the loveseat in the living room. The room was dark, lit only by a small night light in the corner and the moonlight from outside.
Kun was nearly fired by his boss during his trip. He was upset and frustrated, but what made matters worse was when he went home at 10 PM to see that you weren’t there. Then time went on and you still didn’t come home.
You smirked and put your bag down.
“Babyyyyy.. I missed you.” You start to crawl over his lap slowly.
He can tell from the drawn out tones in your voice that you’re drunk. He winces and turns away.
“Where were you, y/n?”
“Out with a friend..we had some drinks and talked.” You straddle him, placing his crotch in between your legs as you kneel over him. You then lean down and kiss his collarbone.
“Why are you home so late? Is it because you didn’t think I’d be home early?” Kun growled out. He wasn’t amused in the slightest by the way you were acting.
“No, baby, I just wanted to hang out with someone for a little bit, you know? I’m so lonely when you’re not here.”
You try to kiss his lips but he flicks his head to the side.
“Who’s this “friend?”
You gulp and straighten your body. You pout as you look down at him. “Baby, kiss me..don’t you miss me too?” You take the straps of your dress down before unhooking your bra and throwing it to the floor.
Jaehyun watched through an open window behind the loveseat as you kneel over an angry Kun. His eyes glow red and his horns grow out of his head as does the straining member in his pants. You in your drunken haze never noticed the pair of crimson eyes outside.
Kun doesn’t touch you or look at your breasts with nipples begging to be sucked. He wanted to take them into his mouth badly, but he was more focused on another issue at hand.
He wrapped his hand around your throat. “Tell me..their name.”
You smirked. “His name is Jaehyun..but we’re just friends, baby, I promise.”
Kun thrusts himself into you from below, grinding hard against your covered opening. You whimper and move your hips to rub your slit against him.
“Well..stop being friends with him, no guy just wants to be friends with a girl..he wants to fuck you..”
You grind down onto him harder, he squeezes his hand and grips your thigh.
“He doesn’t, he’s really nice and helps me at work sometimes.”
Kun digs his nail into your thigh causing you to cry out in pain. He digs into it so deep, he sees blood from your leg run onto his thumb.
But you reach under your dress and pull his boxers down. You still wanted him in your aching core badly, the pain only added to your yearning.
“Y/n.” He says sternly as he watches you align yourself with his hard cock. You sink down onto him slowly and let out a loud moan as it passes through the sensitive skin and rests deep in your core. You adjust to him quickly as you had already been built up by dry humping him before.
He squeezes your throat again.
“Y/n..”
You move up and down. “Yes..” you call out before licking your lips.
He grabs your waist with both hands and lifts you off of him.
“Kun!” You cry his name after being left empty.
“You’re not gonna get out of this so easily. If you want my cock, tell me you’re done with him.”
“But, baby..”
Kun shakes his head. “Don’t. I’m your husband and you should really take into consideration how I might feel when you spend time with men, when you fucking drink alcohol with men like..like some kinda slut.”
You gasped. “Slut?”
Kun nods. “Look at you, you’re just thirsty for any male attention. I work my ass off for a few days and you’re already looking for a replacement.”
“Kun, that’s not true.” You felt your chest rumble, as if you were about to burst into tears.
He flips you over onto the couch. “I’m your husband, aren’t I?”
You nod.
“Then do as I say, don’t go out with Jaehyun again.”
Before you can protest his thrusts into you hard and begins to choke you again.
He goes hard and fast as you mewl.
“Baby, slower, please.”
He bites your nipple and looks down at you to see your body tremble with each rough thrust he gives you, your lips parting to let out the most heavenly moans, your round breasts moving up and down, your legs bent and spread across the loveseat.
“You’re all mine, right?”
“Yes..fuck, yes.” His thumb on your clit makes you dizzy.
“Then I’m gonna breed you, would you like that? Gonna fuck you so hard and get you pregnant.” Kun grunts into your ear.
Jaehyun grimaces outside of your window. Kun, or Adam rather, hadn’t changed at all. He still believed in a woman’s subordination to her husband. He believed from the beginning of time that a woman should lay under her husband, not above.
And now, he was trying to make you his by breeding you, making it impossible for you to break the link between the two of you. But Jaehyun had to make sure that didn’t happen, he had to stop him before he could do this to you.
————
[Three Days Later]
It’s been three days since that night and you hadn’t shown up to work. Kun made love to you day and night on your time off, he felt threatened by the presence of another male in your life and felt it necessary to remind you why you married him in the first place.
He cooked breakfast for you and bought you nice things. You even went to the movies and ice skating. You enjoyed the time off and Kun’s company, it finally felt like things were getting back to normal. You were happy.
Jaehyun, on the other hand, was furious. He knew where you were, but he couldn’t believe that you had forgotten about him so easily. He didn’t want to get violent, but maybe he would have to.
A few days later, you finally return to work and as usual, Jaehyun was there to bring you a cookie.
“Hey! Where have you been?” He asked as you put bread up on the shelves.
“Oh..I took some time off, Kun came home early so we had a little vacation..thank you for the other night though, I really had a great time.” You finally looked up at him and noticed the slightly crazed look in his eyes. His lips were tightly shut.
“That’s great. Would you like to go out again tonight?” He asks sweetly.
You sigh and shake your head. “Umm...Jaehyun..I can’t..do this..”
His smile starts to fade.
“I-I can’t pretend that we are just friends when I’ve had thoughts about you that I shouldn’t have. I’m married and it’s..really not right for me to get emotionally involved with someone.”
Jaehyun chuckles. “That’s nonsense! We are just friends.”
“But we’re not. Look..it’s best if we end this now, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t come to my work place anymore.”
Jaehyun screams internally. You were really doing as Kun said by cutting him off. Was he that disposable?
A smile still rests on his face.
“As you wish..” he nods and leaves after handing you the cookie he brought.
You swallow hard and sigh. That was harder than you thought it would be, but it felt right. It felt like you could finally focus on your marriage with Kun.
Your day at work ended as it usually did. You closed up and walked to your car, but as you got closer you noticed a figure standing beside it.
It had two red eyes and horns peeking out of its skull.
You slowed down. “Hello?” You called out into the empty parking lot.
The figure stepped out of the shadows and under a street light, that’s when you squinted to make out its familiar features. The red eyes and horns had disappeared.
“Jaehyun?”
He stood there creepily in a long black coat and black pants. His face was unreadable and he stayed silent.
You walked closer. “Jaehyun, what are you doing here?”
“You know..” Jaehyun scratches his head and laughs.
“I think we should grab something to eat.”
“Jaehyun..” you looked to the side and away from his somber face. You were just a few feet away from each other now.
“We’ll just be eating, we don’t even have to talk.” Jaehyun stepped forward and pleaded.
He didn’t want to lose you, he couldn’t lose you, not after all this time when he had finally gotten so close.
“I can’t, Kun is waiting for me.” You looked up at him with wide eyes.
Jaehyun felt his body tremble whenever you looked at him like that.
He suddenly leaned forward and kissed your lips hard. You fell into him for a brief moment, but then realized what was happening. You quickly bit his lip and pulled away.
“Jaehyun!” You rubbed your lip. “What the hell?!”
He licked the blood on his lips and frowned after your warmth disappeared.
“I’m sorry, I just-“ he reached out for you again but you backed away and opened your car in a rush.
“Leave me alone! I never want to see you again!”
Jaehyun only watched as you scurried into your car seat and locked the car doors.
He banged on the window hard, you jumped from the sound for you were terrified by him. You saw a dark flint in his eyes that you’d never seen.
Tears ran down your cheeks as you put the car in drive.
You sped out of the parking lot and away from him.
“I’ll never let you go, y/n, now that I have you..I’ll never let you go.” He whispered to himself.
————-
[1 Month Later]
The honeymoon feeling you felt with Kun soon dissipated as things went back to how they’d usually been. He spent his time at work and would come home upset, some nights he didn’t even speak to you. He looked sleep deprived and when you asked him about it, he’d have a fit and say he’s fine.
Some nights he wouldn’t look at you, you couldn’t remember the last time you had made love.
He was always short with you, but lately, you found it increasingly difficult to deal with his negative mood. Is this really who you wanted to be married to?
Jaehyun had been messing with him, he’d purposely make every day difficult for him. Kun couldn’t sleep most nights, but when he did, Jaehyun made sure to fill his mind with dark scenes to scare him. Sometimes he’d throw in false images of you making love to a faceless man. It gave Kun the feeling that he was walking in on you cheating on him. He would wake up from these nightmares but they felt so real, he couldn’t ignore how upset they made him.
Kun was paranoid, he felt like someone was out to get him and he didn’t know who it could be, but he didn’t trust even you as much as he did three months ago.
Then one night, you came home late because of a terrible thunderstorm and traffic. You were only about an hour late, but Kun was already home and steaming on the couch.
“Where were you?” He asked as soon as you entered the house.
You exhaled loudly. “Oh, so now you speak to me.”
“Yeah, I’m speaking to you, I’m asking a fucking question.”
You raised your brows. “And who are you to talk to me like that?”
“I’m your husband, or did you forget that when you fucked him tonight?” Kun bit back as he sat up in the chair.
Your face wrinkled as you placed your bag down.
“What are you talking about?”
“Jaehyun..do you think I’m some kind of idiot? I know you’re still seeing him.”
You scoffed. “Wowww Kun.”
You walk away to the kitchen to get some water.
“No, don’t “wowww” me, tell me I’m lying!” His voice started to raise, he walked into the kitchen after you.
“Kun..you sound ridiculous right now, I’m late because there’s a thunderstorm, or do you not hear it just like you don’t hear your phone ringing when I call you?” You asked sarcastically.
“If you’re gonna be late, you should tell me.”
You gulped down your water. “I don’t have to report anything to you! You’re not my king or whatever you think you are.”
“I’m your husband! And you should treat me like a king because look at this house, you wouldn’t be in it if it weren’t for me.”
Your eyes widened. “Are you really holding the house over my head? Wow Kun, you’ve really hit rock bottom, haven’t you?”
Kun chuckles. “Maybe Jaehyun lives somewhere nice, why don’t you go to him since I’m not your king.”
“Okay, here we go again, why are you so insecure, Kun?!”
The two of you went back and forth that night. You broke down in tears as Kun said hurtful things that left you stunned.
“I want a divorce!” You yelled and stormed out.
You jumped into your car and drove away, you didn’t know where you were going to go, but you knew you needed to be away from him.
You dialed up Jaehyun who had heard the entire conversation from outside of your house.
“Hello?” He said with the faked tone of confusion in his voice.
“Jaehyun..I need to see you.”
You drove to his house.
It was an incredibly large mansion, and when you went inside, the walls were lined with gold and red velvet curtains. It looked beautiful, unreal almost.
You wondered how Jaehyun could live in an expensive place at such a young age.
Jaehyun looked at your magnificent face as your mouth dropped open.
“Investments.” He smirked.
You laughed and looked back at him. His eyes were warm, his smile was bright.
He could tell you had been crying so once in the foyer he steps close to you and searches your wet eyes.
He runs his thumb along your cheek as you gaze up at him.
“What happened, love?”
You shook your head. “It’s Kun..we fought, I just..I don’t know, Jaehyun, I don’t think we can make it.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, y/n..”
“I love him, I really do but..” you look to the side and sniffle.
“Is he controlling, y/n?”
Your eyes flicker up to him. You nod slowly.
“Is he the reason why you stopped hanging out with me?”
You nod again.
Jaehyun purses his lips. “Y/n..he’s threatened by you, he doesn’t want you to be independent now that you’re married. He wants to control you and that isn’t a partnership. That isn’t love.”
Your eyes brim with tears once again. “Jaehyun..I don’t want to think about him right now...I want to feel loved, can you do that for me?”
Jaehyun’s dark soul nearly escapes his body. “Of course.”
You place both hands on his head and kiss him slowly and sensually. You both close your eyes as you fall into him more, his arms wrapping around you to bring you closer to him. He wants to become one with you, feel you, smell you, to be completely enraptured by you for eternity.
Time stood still and your heart fluttered as it was finally being satisfied by something it had craved from the first moment you met Jaehyun.
He too felt everything slow down to a crawl, your lips tasted like the sweetest fruit, your hands were soft like plush blankets.
He pulls away to breathe, his hot breath hitting your now swollen lips. “So beautiful” he whispers into them, then kisses you again in the dim lighting of his house.
He takes you into his arms and carries you to one of his many bedrooms.
“I will take you higher than the heavens themself, just give in to me.” He whispers softly.
He lays you down gently onto the fluffy bed and watches as you relax into it, your hair looking gorgeous as it lays against the white sheets, your neck just begging for soft kisses or hastily made bite marks, cute nose and round, swollen lips. He looks into your wide eyes and smiles. “You’re stunning.” He kicks his shoes off and crawls over you.
You giggled and held him by the hem on his shirt. “Jaehyun...kiss me.”
He leaned down and kissed you as you asked. He was transported back to when your name was Eve and the two of you made love in the garden. Your lips taste the same as hers, your skin feels the same, your touch and everything else was the same. Jaehyun was more than pleased to finally be experiencing your love again.
You start to take your pants down your legs and eventually kick them off. Jaehyun takes his clothes off as well, then watches you take your hoodie off to reveal your breasts.
Without hesitation, he lays his tongue flat against the perky nub, coating it with his spit. He then swirls his tongue around it while he massages the other breast that he hasn’t tasted yet.
You moan and run your fingers through his hair.
His fingers press onto your thigh, then work their way to your sensitive skin between your legs. You tremble as they brush lightly against it.
You arch your back, telling him silently that you want him to go further. He sucks your nipples harder and listens to another moan leave your beautiful lips.
He takes two fingers and uses them to part your folds. He circles his fingertips around your entrance to collect the liquid that has formed from you being so turned on already.
He kisses the skin in between your breasts.
“You taste so sweet.”
He pushes his fingers into you slowly, your legs widen a bit to adjust to him. His fingers are long and slender, but it doesn’t take much time before his knuckles hit your most sensitive part.
“Jaehyun..” you exhale.
His fingers glide in and out of you slowly, he curls his finger tips to press right onto the fleshy spot that makes your head spin. He flicks his tongue across your breast as his fingers work on your needy area.
He looks up at you through low eyes, your dainty fingers grasping onto the sheets tightly.
“So-so close.” You whimper.
His fingers move faster, pressing onto your clenching walls as you get closer.
He then kneels and looks down at you as his fingers still move back and forth.
He licks his lips and lowers his face to the apex of your open legs. He flicks his tongue across you slit now, combining the action of his tongue with his finger to drive you crazy.
He moves his tongue in circular motions onto your clit as his finger moves in faster and presses onto your g-spot harder.
His long tongue flattens onto you repeatedly.
You cry out his name one final time before cumming onto his fingers. He continues to rub his nose onto your clit and lick inside you as you climax and shake.
You try to push your body up away from him, but he holds your waist down firmly and continues to eat you out.
“Jaehyun!” You look down at him to see his eyes, almost with a glint of red in them, looking up at you sternly.
He places a kiss onto your folds then crawls over you to face you. He licks his lips.
“Y/n, my love, I will never force you to bow down to me, you are my queen, you always have been. I will not lose you like I did so long ago.”
You’re slightly confused, but you nod and kiss him. He lays down beside you and takes your waist into his hands as his tongue now dances with yours.
He brings your body over on top of his.
Your skin becomes littered with goose pimples as he runs his hands up and down your thighs.
You kneel over his intimidating length and take in a sharp breath while running your hands along his chest and abs. He, too, was magnificent, like a painting or sculpture come to life.
He takes your hand in his and watches your naked body above him.
He remembered the first time you made love, you rode him that time too, bringing him to his most memorable orgasm of all time.
You sink down onto him slowly, your head falling back instantly.
You couldn’t stop your pussy from clenching around him as he stretched you out so well and stimulated you just from being halfway in.
He pushes up into you to help you. You feel his cock buried deep inside you, running against your silky walls and pressing onto your sweet spot once more.
He curved into you so perfectly. You bite your lips and swivel your hips as you move up and down. He grabs your ass and brings it down onto him.
He groans when you quiver around him and it is a low sound that you’ve never heard before, it’s almost animalistic.
But it’s hot, and pushes you closer to the edge.
Jaehyun watched your body shimmer in the low, warm lighting of the room. Your face is adorable, your skin is soft and glistens, you smell like vanilla. He wished he could have you like this forever, gliding down onto him, your breasts moving up and down as you whimper and moan from the feeling of his cock stretching you out.
You are his Heaven.
He thrusts up into you harder. The sound of skin slapping against skin fills the room as does your groans and cries.
Jaehyun fits you so perfectly, you’re on the brink of tears, you're weak and ride him sloppily as you chase your high.
Jaehyun knows this and flips you over onto your back in a swift move. He places your legs onto his shoulders and pushes into you. His hips slap against yours as he kisses you again.
He uses his ability to grow even more while inside you.
His eyes glow red but your eyes are closed as he fucks into you from above now.
“Jaehyun..fuck..” Tears escape your eyes. Your pussy clenches uncontrollably around his cock.
He runs his palm onto your belly and feels his cock twitch in the pit of your stomach. “I’m so deep inside you, do you like feeling me? Do you want me to release deep inside you?”
He moves faster.
You arch your back. “Fill me up, please, I want you inside me so badly.” You whimper out.
Jaehyun licks his thumb and places it onto your clit. He licks your breast again and sucks hard.
You cum hard and shake.
He climaxes as well, cumming deep inside you as you let out a stream of curses. You had never orgasmed so hard, but something about Jaehyun has you trembling for several minutes. He was able to deliver pleasure just as he was able to deliver pain in the underworld.
He rubs his thumb along the side of your sweaty face while watching his cum leak out of you.
“My love..would you like me to fuck you again?”
His voice is gravelly, but confident, for he already knows the answer.
You nod and within a few milliseconds you’re on your chest with your ass up in the air. Jaehyun pounds you into the bed and has you calling out his name several times that night.
You fall asleep after climaxing many times. You felt amazing, like a weight had been lifted from your shoulders. Jaehyun held you in his arms and cuddled you to sleep.
“Y/n..I’m happy you’re mine now.”
————
[The Next Day]
Jaehyun woke up to see that you left him, you had snuck out and drove back home.
You left a note for him explaining that you couldn’t be in a relationship with him for your heart belonged to Kun.
“Thank you for being here for me, I am sorry for coming to you during my weakest moment. I hope you will respect my wish to not see you again, as I must remain steady in my marriage to Kun.
With Love, Y/n”
Jaehyun crumbles up the note and sets fire to it in his hands. His horns grow large and his eyes beam red, furious is an understatement.
How could you do this to him? He made love to you, gave you the best love you’d ever had and you still went back to him.
He would make sure to ruin Kun, for if he couldn’t have you, no one else should.
————
[3 Months Later]
Jaehyun was still hurt by you leaving him that night, but he knew there was nothing he could do. A part of him wanted you to be happy, but a part of him wanted to destroy Kun so he could have you all to himself.
He had planned to get rid of him until he discovered that you were pregnant. He wasn’t sure if the baby was his or Kun’s, but he did know that if he were to kill Kun you would potentially lose the baby from devastation. He couldn’t do that to you, he couldn’t cause that pain even if he was satisfied by Kun’s death.
So he watches you from afar, imagining once again that it was him preparing for a baby instead of Kun.
The two of you looked happy, maybe it was the child that was making things different.
Either way, he hated seeing you so happy without him.
————
[8 Months Later]
You give birth to your son. You and Kun raise it together and take turns watching it during the night.
One day, Jaehyun visits you while you cradle the baby at home alone.
You open the door and your smile falls.
Jaehyun, however, smiles harder when he sees your pretty face, glowing from the post pregnancy hormone changes.
Seeing you like this makes him want to get you pregnant all over again.
“J-Jaehyun?” You hadn’t seen him since that night, but he still looked good.
“Y/n..it’s been so long, hasn’t it?”
Something about him being there after so much time made you uneasy.
“Well..can I come in?” Jaehyun gives a half smile.
You nod and let him in.
You hold your baby and sit in a rocking chair. “So..what brings you here?”
“I’m here to see my child of course!”
Your brows furrow. “YOUR..child?”
Jaehyun smirks and steps closer to you. He smiles to himself as he looks at the baby.
“Come on, y/n, did you forget how many times I buried my seed into your beautiful cunt that night?”
You shook your head. “Don’t speak like that, please. I was weak, I-I was sad and broken..”
“Of course, but you loved it, you loved all of it.” He looked up to the ceiling and shut his eyes.
“I can still hear your moans right now.”
“Kun is the father, Jaehyun..this isn’t up for debate.”
“And if he’s not?” He tilts his head and looks back down at you.
“Well, he is. I’ll raise this child with my husband, regardless of who the biological father is, we have no place for you in this house.”
“Tsk tsk...keeping me away from my own child? Y/n..that’s not very nice of you, my love.”
“Don’t call me that!” Your voice rose slightly. “We had one night together, I don’t want to be with you, I will never be yours.”
“You’re already mine, y/n, you always will be, don’t you understand, after all these years?”
You shook your head. “Jaehyun.. you’re crazy. I’d like you to leave.”
You reached your hand out to grab your phone.
Jaehyun sees that you're nervous and chuckles to himself. “Oh..y/n..you’ve really made me upset. I guess I will just have to embrace my nature.”
He shuts the front door as you stare intently.
You always had a fear that the baby might be his, but how did he know you were pregnant in the first place?
————
[Two Days Later]
Jaehyun summons Lilith.
“And to what do I owe the pleasure?”
She appears to him with a slim body and dark hair this time. Her face is perfect like one of some celebrity, but God cursed Jaehyun’s vision so that when he looks at Lilith, he can only see an ugly monster.
“I need you to take it.”
Jaehyun demands as sits on his throne in Hell. He tosses an apple in the air.
“Seduce the man and come back with the baby.”
“And what do I get out of it?” She places her hand on her hip.
“Nothing. But if you don’t do it, I will rip your fucking head off.” He looks up at her slowly. “Is that a good enough reason for you?”
Lilith scoffs then goes to do as she is told.
She appears to Kun who is half asleep on the couch in the living room. It’s his turn to watch the baby, so he can’t sleep completely.
“Hey there, big boy.” She says smoothly and crawls over him.
“Who—who are you?”
“My name’s Lilith.” She zips her leather jacket down to reveal her bare chest. “You look lonely, sweetheart.”
Kun is hypnotized by her, he doesn’t know if he’s awake or asleep, but he does know that he wants her badly.
“Do you want to fuck me?” Lilith asks with doe eyes as she looks up at him and pumps her breasts.
Kun nods and soon finds himself enraptured by a succubus, burying himself into her and thus falling into her trap as you, his wife, lay sound asleep in the room above.
Once Lilith brings Kun to an extraordinary climax, he falls asleep.
She then walks upstairs slowly to the baby room.
Her appealing looks disappear and she transforms into her true being, a disturbingly ugly monster with grey skin and long legs and arms. Her bones crack as she grows to about 6 feet 6 inches tall, her black hair falls out onto the floor and her jaw protrudes as her eyes glow red. She smells like rotten eggs as green liquid oozes out of her pores and eyes.
She stares at the baby sleeping soundly in its crib.
You, however, wake up from the crackling sound.
“Kun?” You murmur.
You get up and walk to the baby room.
You nearly pass out from the stench and feel your legs grow weak when you see the ghastly being standing over your baby.
“Hey!” You call out, but when the thing turns around, it already has your baby in its arms. A wide creepy smile filled with about twenty sharp and misshapen teeth creeps across its face.
You start to cry. “Put him down!”
You run towards it but it disappears.
You grasp the crib and look into it, shifting the blankets around before looking under it.
Your baby was nowhere to be found.
You let out a painful scream that Jaehyun, and even your neighbors could hear and fell to the floor.
Kun finally woke up and ran upstairs. He consoled you as you cried uncontrollably.
———-
[One Month Later]
The police and everyone in the neighborhood helped you to search for your baby, but nothing happened.
You tried to explain that night so many times, but nothing made sense and people just thought you were crazy.
Even Kun. He left you soon after the incident, the heartbreak was too much for him and he didn’t trust you. So he left you, moving further away and starting a new life without you as the divorce papers started to process.
You were alone, you couldn’t deal with the loss of your child. You sat alone at a pond and cried until you couldn’t cry anymore.
Jaehyun knew your time was running out, he knew you’d pass and eventually come to him to live with him in the dark world.
Your heart breaks and you die of sadness at the edge of the pond.
Your soul slips away from your body.
Jaehyun is there watching as you stare down at it in confusion.
“Jaehyun?”
“Hello, y/n.”
“Where am I?”
“You’re with me now, where you should be.” He smiles as he goes to take your hand, but his hand passes through.
Jaehyun looks in confusion at his hand.
“Can you see me?” You ask.
“Of course I can. I should be able to touch you too, but..” he turns away and looks at his hand which is still vibrating like it had just been shocked with electricity.
“What’s happening?”
He turns back to you, but you’re gone.
“Oh, Lucifer..” a male voice calls out to him.
“You thought you had it all figured out, didn’t you? You would have her die then bring her to hell to live with you forever..”
“Winwin?” He recognizes the angel in front of him.
“I wish I could say it’s nice to see you again, but it really isn’t.”
“What the hell is going on? She’s mine!” He grows angry, his eyes becoming red and his horns growing out in harmony with his black wings.
“No, she isn’t. She belongs with us, remember God will always win.” Winwin smirks.
“No..no they can’t do this to me again!”
“Of course they can! Goodbye, LuLu!” Winwin then spins and disappears.
Jaehyun curses and shouts loudly, so loudly that the heavens can hear him. You can hear him, but now you realized who he really was and why he was so infatuated with you. It broke your heart that he went to such lengths to hold onto you, but now you knew that he was nothing but evil.
Jaehyun could feel you, he could sense you everywhere and sometimes he could see you, but he could never touch you again. He would have to live eternally as a tortured individual that lost his love 3 times.
“Well, at least you have the child.” Lilith looks at her nails as Jaehyun thrashes about in hell.
“What will you name him?”
Jaehyun smooths his hair back and walks to the crib that the baby sleeps in. “His name..is Cain.”
Summary: You and Park Jimin have been rivals for as long as you’ve known one another; ever since he tripped you in the front row of your first dance convention. When you graduate from high school and enter Russet Ballet Academy, you tell yourself you’re leaving all past quarrels behind. The main problem with this though, is that your past seems determined not to leave you alone.
Worse still, the obstacles you face while out in the real world might prove more challenging than anything your enemy has to offer.
Tumblr media
“Okay, even you have to admit this is too soon.” Finn stared, appalled at the chalkboard. “It’s not even Halloween!”
Laughing a little, you looped your arm around his to drag him towards the back. Plopping down in a chair, you placed your order number in the center of the table. Seating himself across the table from you, Finn began to undo his coat.
“Come on.” He grinned, brown hair flopping when he leaned forward. “Admit it – this is too early for holiday drinks.”
“Okay, maybe it’s a little early,” you acquiesced. “But Halloween is tomorrow! They probably just put up the holiday drinks so they don’t have to do it on Sunday.”
“Laziness!” he cried, jabbing a finger in the air.
Shaking your head, you smiled when Namjoon, the barista, placed a pumpkin soy latte before you.
“Thanks!” you said, pulling this towards you.
“No problem,” he said, flashing his dimples before he turned to leave.
Taking a long, slow sip of your drink, you groaned. “Oh my god. This is it. This is heaven.”
Finn laughed. “Is that seriously your first pumpkin drink of the season?” Sadly, he shook his head. “I remember our senior year, you dragged me out of bed at 7:00 AM on a Saturday just to get the first pumpkin drink of the year.”
“I know,” you sighed. “But I’ve needed the extra caffeine jolt each morning. Sweet drinks just don’t cut it anymore.”
“Ah, the first step in addiction.” Finn nodded sagely.
Smiling, you settled back in your seat as he took the first sip of his black coffee. It had been two weeks since your fight at the club and since then, Finn had been on his best behavior. For about a week, things between you had been awkward but slowly, your relationship was returning to normal.
Seated in the corner of your favorite coffee shop, you drank from your cup and glanced around the room. This was what you’d pictured when you imagined you and Finn living in the city together. Coffee dates, going on new adventures and continuing your relationship where it had left off.
Of course, this morning was only possible because Miss Britt’s ballet class had been cancelled. A contemporary master class had been scheduled for the afternoon, but your day before then was free – something you’d immediately taken advantage of by calling Finn. It was becoming easier to fit each other into your schedules, more like second nature, but things were still tense whenever things didn’t line up.
None of this was eased by the burgeoning whatever-it-was you’d shoved to the back of your mind regarding Jimin. Since the day of Mr. Vlad’s ballet class, you’d managed to keep your emotions in check, but were constantly on the lookout for dangerous situations. You and Jimin were professionals, obviously, but you were also only human. It was reasonable to have subconscious wants and desires, but these weren’t important unless you chose to act upon them.
You didn’t tell Finn about it because honestly, there was nothing to tell. Okay, so you’d felt an errant spark one day during a lift. Big deal. Finn had been your boyfriend for over two years – it would take more than that to threaten your relationship. A relationship which, frankly, had been getting stronger as of late. Telling him something as inconsequential as a spark you had with Jimin would only take you further down the wrong path.
“Are you sure you’re okay with us doing separate things tomorrow?” Finn interrupted your thoughts. His brow furrowed. “It is Halloween, after all.”
“Ah, yes.” You nodded. “Halloween, the internationally known couple’s holiday.”
He laughed. “Okay, point made – but still.”
“It’s fine,” you assured him. This was something you’d already been over. “It just makes sense like this! Your friends are going to that off-campus party and I promised Noelle I’d go to this club thing with her.”
“Right, of course.” Finn grinned. “I’m bummed I’ll miss seeing you as the Powerpuff girls, though. Who’s going to be the third one, again?”
“Well, I’m Blossom – obviously.”
“Of course.” He nodded. “Miss Responsibility.”
A twinge of annoyance went through you, but you pushed it aside. You didn’t think you were always the responsible one but admittedly, you’d been more on edge than usual lately.
“Anyways,” you continued with a roll of your eyes. “I’m Blossom, Noelle is Buttercup and Irene is going as Bubbles. It’ll be fun! Aside from the whole club part, of course.”
“It does sound fun,” Finn admitted, a tad mournful. “Meanwhile, I’ve been roped into the classic college bro costume of Ghostbusters.”
“Oh, come on! That is classic! You’ll be super cute in your… suit? Cargo pants? What do Ghostbusters wear again?”
“Knowing Ben, something tragic from Party City. Pray for me.”
“I’ll light candles.”
Finn grinned, sipping his coffee again and your conversation slipped naturally to other topics.
Halloween fell on a Saturday this year, which meant every college campus was gearing up for some epic parties. Noelle had managed to snag tickets to a club fancy enough to require an RSVP. Apparently, said brother she missed was a DJ and could get tickets to a lot of things if Noelle bothered to ask.
A bunch of people from Russet were going, which made you excited. There hadn’t been many parties with your classmates so far this semester. Despite technically being in college, your classmates were all under the same intense pressure, only made worse by constant early morning ballet.
This week though, even your teachers seemed to have decided you needed a break. Aside from the master class you had this afternoon, there were zero Russet classes until Monday morning. The break in schedule meant you could actually go out – and drink – if you so decided. You and Noelle were planning on attending a ballet class tomorrow, but your entire day after would be free.
You’d originally planned on seeing Finn during the day, but then he’d been invited to a Halloween darty (day party) starting at noon. Despite not seeing Finn on Halloween, you weren’t feeling stressed. It was only one holiday and not even a couple’s one, as you’d said.
After coffee, you kissed Finn goodbye and headed to class at Danley Hall. The atmosphere was different as soon as you entered the classroom – all of the students were buzzing, excited by the prospect of the weekend ahead. The excitement only grew when coupled with the fact that today’s class was contemporary.
For nearly two months, your training had been mostly ballet. This was the foundation of all western dance, and where most dance students were expected to start. Finally though, you were being given a chance to show off. Today’s teacher, Luna Jordan, was a well-known contemporary choreographer across the globe.
You’d done a master class with her once back in high school and honestly couldn’t wait to learn from her again. She wasn’t alone, though, you noticed as you walked in – an unfamiliar, dark-haired guy stood beside her, stretching lithely before the room’s mirror.
“Holy shit,” Noelle whispered as she came to a stop. “That’s Jeon Jungkook.”
Startled, you looked twice and saw she was right. You hadn’t recognized him without his bevy of followers, but Jeon Jungkook was known in the dance world. A child prodigy, he’d been on America’s Got Talent at age eleven and finished in second place. Following this, his family had moved to LA and he’d been in high demand for movies, music videos and performances ever since.
You remembered hearing he worked with Luna Jordan, but the thought hadn’t crossed your mind before now that he might be here.
Noelle cocked her head to one side. “He’s hot.”
“Noelle,” you hissed, trying to shush her.
“What!” A devious grin spread across her face. “Am I supposed to be blind, as well as mute?”
“Well, no, but –”
“Alright, everyone!” Miss Luna clapped her hands together. “I know everyone is excited for the weekend, but we unfortunately have an hour and a half together before then. Everyone spread out for warm-ups!”
A few people laughed, spreading out on the floor as class began. Noelle wriggled her eyebrows, pulling you towards the front in order to get the best spot. Hiding a smile, you ducked your head and settled beside her into a stretch.
Noelle was nearly as excited as you were for the opportunity to dance contemporary. Most of your classmates knew this to be your forte – you caught glances from the corner of your eye while you warmed up, trying not to let their attention get to your head.
Jimin was also near the front, although on the opposite side. You suspected your class was equally excited to see him perform – as talented as Jimin was at ballet, there was a reason you hadn’t thought he’d be at Russet this fall. Jimin’s strength in jazz and contemporary was unparalleled. You would’ve thought he’d gone to LA to become a dancer like Jungkook.
Speaking of whom – Jungkook really was attractive; that much couldn’t be denied. He had dark, wavy hair pulled into a bun and cheekbones sharp enough to cut glass. When he glanced up from his stretch, his gaze somehow found yours and he smiled.
Eyes widening, you stared until you caught sight of Jimin behind him. Glancing between the two of you, Jimin’s expression soured before he looked away. Lips parting, you felt the sudden urge to say something, but there was too much distance between you.
“You ready?” Miss Luna called, an upbeat pop song blasting from the stereo. “Let’s go!”
She launched into isolations, leaving the rest of the class to follow. Warm-ups passed quickly and before you knew it, you were gathered at center to learn the combination. Miss Luna’s style was right up your alley. The steps came easily and, once you’d learned the whole chorus, she left you alone to practice.
You were helping Ari with a difficult move when you caught sight of Sabrina as you turned. She’d positioned herself near the back, which had to be a first. Usually, Sabrina was front and center to allow for maximum receipt of teacher praise.
The decision to stand near the back could’ve been strategy – sometimes, dancers did that at conventions. Conventions were giant weekends of competition with teachers from all over the globe who taught master classes to hundreds of dancers in hotel ballrooms and convention centers. Space at the front tended to be limited, so some stayed at the back, where there was more room to dance and be seen. You had a greater likelihood to capture the teacher’s attention when you had the room to do incredible leaps.
Sabrina’s decision didn’t seem strategic, though. While you watched, Sabrina stumbled transitioning from one move to the next. A brief twinge of pity went through you.
It was easy enough to spot ballerinas dancing anything but ballet. Although ballet was the root of modern westernized dance, it could be hard to translate into other styles. Ballet was more rigid than contemporary, jazz or hip-hop. In ballet, each position was defined, individual style was limited, and dancers were expected to all look the same. Standing out in the corps de ballet was equally frowned upon as missing an entrance.
Not that ballet wasn’t important to all dance styles, mind you. Even hip-hop dancers took ballet to improve their balance, core strength and general understanding of the body. There was an element of individuality in other dance styles, though, which lacked in ballet. Contemporary and hip-hop dancers were expected to have relentless technique all while creating their own, unique flair.
Just looking at Sabrina you could clearly see the holes. She was trying so hard to emulate the moves of Miss Luna, she was kind of missing the point. When Miss Luna did a certain flick of the wrist, it wasn’t a defined part of the choreography, but rather an individual choice.
Without thinking, you took a step forward – only to stop. Sabrina wouldn’t want your help; she’d already made that abundantly clear. Besides, you knew her friend Katie to be a contemporary dancer. She could help Sabrina and yet, when you looked, you saw Katie practicing near the front with Jungkook.
Jungkook obviously knew the steps, since this was probably the tenth time he’d learned the combination. Dance teachers often did that – selected a dancer to attend classes with them, traveling to different cities to demonstrate the combination and help when they weren’t free.
Before you could decide whether to help Sabrina, Miss Luna clapped her hands again.
“Let’s do groups!” she declared. “I’ll count you off into groups of four, and each group will showcase. Sound good?”
It wasn’t really a question so much as an announcement. The rest of the class nodded, waiting while Miss Luna counted you off. You ended up in the same group as Irene, Paulo and a few others. Jimin and Noelle were in the group two, while Sabrina was in the group after theirs.
Jogging off to the side, you waited while the first group took center. You were part of group four, which meant you’d be amongst the last to dance on the floor. When the music began, you closed your eyes and began to mark the combination. You tried not to focus on what anyone else was doing, but this became difficult once Noelle’s group stepped up.
Noelle had trained in jazz and contemporary, although she’d stopped in high school to focus mainly on ballet. Still, her artistry shone in her movement. She could definitely stand to loosen up a bit but was still one of the best in the bunch. You found yourself smiling when she landed a turn, silently cheering her on from the side.
While you were watching, Jimin cut across your vision.
Dropping to the ground, he rolled and arched as his forehead brushed wood. His quality of movement was breathtaking and for a moment, you felt like you were back in high school.
Suddenly returned to those dimmed auditoriums, you watched Jimin take the stage like an otherworldly being. His body seemed to move before your mind could comprehend. Barely did he finish one move before he was starting another, the steps flowing endlessly together like unhindered water. Although you knew the combination and knew how you would dance it, watching Jimin perform was a different experience entirely.
Ballet required dancers to stay on the beat but in contemporary, they were expected to lag. Extensions were all the more breathtaking when they clung to the last second, seeming as though the dancer might not make it before they caught up. Jimin was an expert in this, knowing exactly when to hang precariously over the edge and when to pull back.
Watching him dance, that pesky, strange something bloomed in your chest again.
Squashing this quickly, you looked away and resumed marking the combo. The end of the song was improvisation though and, unable to stop yourself, you found your attention drifting to Jimin again. He was ridiculously beautiful – you nearly didn’t hear when Miss Luna called for them to stop. As she turned off the music, she applauded the group while they walked from the floor.
Breathing heavily, Noelle came to a stop alongside you and – somewhat guiltily, since you hadn’t been watching – you gave her a high-five.
“That was awesome!” you said with a grin. “You definitely stood out in the group.”
Noelle snort-laughed. “Not with Jimin up there, but that’s okay. This is his specialty – and yours,” she added with a wink. “I’m psyched for group four.”
“Ah,” you groaned, rubbing your neck. “Too much pressure.”
Noelle laughed, shaking her head as group three took the floor. Both of you fell silent to watch, your curious gaze finding Sabrina in the back. Sabrina looked almost nervous; an emotion which seemed out of place on her features. It made her look almost human.
As soon as the music began, you stifled a wince. Sabrina stood out from the group, and not in a good way. She had the combination down but moved with a woodenness you would’ve expected from someone half her age. It was enough for you to glance at Miss Luna, wondering if she had noticed.
“Wow,” Noelle whispered, looking almost gleeful. “Sabrina is terrible.”
“Noelle!” you whisper-laughed.
“What? After everything she’s done? After everything she’s said?” Noelle’s gaze narrowed. “Sabrina deserves this.”
Despite privately agreeing, you couldn’t help but feel bad as Sabrina continued. Not wanting to watch any longer, you turned towards the front and resumed marking the combo. As soon as Miss Luna cut the music and polite clapping ensued, you turned back around.
It was time for group four. A shaky, sick feeling entered your stomach as you walked to center. So many eyes were on you, but it had been so long since you danced contemporary. You couldn’t help but wonder if you were as good as people seemed to imagine. Surrounded by so many dancers at Russet, surely your own talent would pale in comparison.
As soon as the music began though, everything faded. Insecurities slipping away, a lightness entered your chest as, eyes falling shut, you slowly inhaled.
Taking a step forward, you opened your eyes and began.
To you, dance had several phases. The first was learning, where you memorized each step and put them in order. The second was understanding, where your muscle memory began to take over and the combination felt smoother. The final phase, performance, was when you thought not of the steps, and were free to just dance.
This was your favorite phrase. In this phase, your mind separated from your body, leaving you only with sweat and emotion. Dance was the only art form composed solely of the body. An odd combination of physical strength and artistic beauty, it was both a testament to human capability and human emotion.
Losing yourself in the music, you ebbed and flowed through the combination until the choreography ended and improvisation began. Finally, you let go and held nothing back. Raw, unbridled passion poured out as you lost sight of yourself, so consumed by the movement.
When the song finally finished and you came to a stop, you were panting for breath. Glancing up, the first person you saw was Jimin.
He stood off to one side, leaning casually against the rungs of the barre, but his expression was anything but. Focused on you, his gaze had turned dark in a way which made you catch your breath.
Miss Luna clapped both hands once again, returning your attention to her. Blinking, Jimin shook his head and in your peripheral, you saw him straighten.
“Very good!” Miss Luna scanned the group. “I know our time is nearly at and end, but why don’t we have a few students come out and demonstrate?”
Again, this was fairly common in master classes. After learning the combination, teachers would often single out students to perform as examples. It wasn’t always the students with the best technique who got chosen. Oftentimes, it was as much for passion and performance quality.
Taking a step forward, Miss Luna began to call out names. You were one of the first – setting your water down, you jogged back to center. Jimin was the next person called, then Noelle, much to your excitement. Jungkook was also instructed to join on the floor.
Turning the lights halfway down, Miss Luna pressed play and let you improvise until the combination began. Jungkook started dancing and honestly, he was beautiful, but you couldn’t linger on him for long.
Catching sight of Jimin again, you were once more transported to earlier times. This wasn’t the first time you’d been called out together. Oftentimes, this had happened at conventions but back then, your mind had been too clouded to see him for who he was.
You’d always wanted to beat him in high school, but now, you were consumed by the oddest desire to see him do well.
Glancing up, Jimin caught your gaze and he smiled – but then, the combination began.
By the time you were finished, you could hardly catch your breath but somehow, you felt the most alive you’d been in ages. Back in your own element, surrounded by some of the most amazing dancers in the world – this was what you’d imagined when you came to Russet.
People around the room clapped, some of them begrudgingly. You got the impression many of your classmates weren’t used to not being chosen. As you walked from the floor, you saw surprisingly, Sabrina wasn’t amongst them.
Instead, Sabrina simply looked tired – as though she’d tried her best and it hadn’t been enough. You knew that look. You sympathized with that look.
The look lingered in the back of your mind while you packed up your things and listened to Noelle discuss Halloween tomorrow. When she mentioned Ari had decided to visit her family this weekend, an idea began to form in your mind.
“Wait,” you interrupted, looking up. “Ari can’t come tomorrow?”
Noelle shook her head. “Her brother just turned eighteen, so her whole family is having a party or something.”
“So… her ticket is free, then?”
“Yes…” Noelle paused. “Why? Y/N, what are you planning?”
“Okay. Hear me out,” you said as you shrugged on your coat. It was cold enough now for the coat to be necessary.
Noelle sighed, slinging her bag over her shoulder. “Alright, I’m listening.”
Glancing away, you saw Sabrina packing her things on the other side of the room. Before you could talk yourself out of it, you returned to Noelle.
“What if we invited Sabrina?”
Noelle snorted. “Pass.”
“Noelle,” you laughed, reaching out for her arm. “Come on! Do you really think she’s doing anything for Halloween?”
“Probably not. And that’s her own fault.”
“Maybe,” you said, glancing at Sabrina once more. “But how could it hurt? We have an extra ticket, there’ll be tons of people tomorrow night. She’ll probably say no – at least this way, you can claim a write-off on your way into heaven!”
Noelle upper lip twitched. “Oh, is that how write-offs work?”
“Well, I can only assume.”
Finally, she laughed. “Ugh, fine. You can invite her – but only because it’s Halloween, and Halloween is a time for peace. And slutty costumes.”
“Thanks, babe,” you said, squeezing her waist in a one-armed hug.
Sighing exaggeratedly, Noelle waved aside your thanks. Hiking your bag higher, you began to make your way across the room. As you closed in on Sabrina, you began to rethink your choice. It had been nearly a month since anything bad had happened between you but still, you found yourself feeling wary. As tough as you pretended to be, rejection hurt you just as much as the next person.
Still, dancing with Jimin had been a reminder of just how bitter your relationship used to be. If that relationship could change, you had to imagine things with Sabrina could, too.
Coming to a stop at her bag, you waited for her to look up. When she finally did, her brow wrinkled in confusion.
“What?” Sabrina asked, sounding defensive. “What do you want, Y/N?”
You couldn’t really blame her for her suspicion. Had your situations been reversed, you would’ve been equally distrustful. It was likely Sabrina thought you were coming over to gloat, or say something to do with class today. Another twinge of pity went through you as Sabrina zipped her bag shut to stand.
“I just wanted to know what you were doing tomorrow,” you said, trying to smile. “Noelle has an extra ticket to a Halloween party, and we thought you might like to come.”
Sabrina stared. “What?”
“Tomorrow is Halloween,” you said, a bit slower. “You know – when we were kids, it was all about costumes and candy. Now, it’s about costumes and booze?”
Sabrina failed to crack a smile. “And you want… me to come to this party?”
Something about the way she said this made you sad, as though she genuinely thought this might be a joke. As though at any moment, someone might jump out and yell SIKE.
“Yeah,” you said, softening a little. “Look – it’s not a big deal if you can’t make it. A bunch of our class is going though, so we thought of you.”
Sabrina hesitated, then glanced at the door. “Okay,” she said, looking back. “Okay, yeah. I’ll come.”
Stifling your surprise, you nodded. “Great. I’ll text you where to meet us tomorrow before the club. Wear a costume,” you added before walking away. “Noelle said it’s required.”
“Alright,” Sabrina said, so quiet you almost missed it.
Walking away, you were nearly at the door when Jungkook popped up before you. Flashing a smile, he fixed a loose strand of hair away from his face. Feet fumbling to a stop, you could only stare.
“Y/N, right?” he said, sounding shy.
Unable to find the words, you blinked in response. The way Jungkook danced had been so confident, you’d only assumed this to be his off-floor persona, as well. Hearing him sound shy was unexpected.
Also – you hadn’t expected him to know your name.
“I… yeah, that’s me.” Shaking your head, you smiled. “Jungkook, right?”
“Yeah.” He nodded. “I just wanted to say I’m such a big fan of your dancing. It was great to take class with you today.”
Without meaning to, a laugh escaped your lips. Jungkook stared at you, baffled until you quickly waved him off.
“Oh, no – no! Sorry,” you said. “I’m not laughing at you! I’m just laughing at the ridiculousness of you saying you’re a fan of me.”
Some of Jungkook’s wariness disappeared, and a small smile played across his lips.
“Well, I am.” His grin widened. “I used to assist on the convention circuit, too and I remember you being called out all the time. You and Jimin,” he added, glancing across the room.
You looked, too and saw Jimin still packing his things. His back was stiff, pointedly not looking in your direction. Lingering on him a moment, you returned to Jungkook.
“Still,” you said with a laugh. “It’s a bit of a stretch to say we took class together when you’re the teacher’s assistant.”
“True.” Jungkook paused. “Well, next time you’re in LA, let’s fix that. Let me know if you’re ever in town and we can take a class together.”
Despite yourself, your brows raised. It was harmless, but Jungkook was definitely flirting with you. He was attractive, sure and seemed nice, but he lived in LA and you had a boyfriend. You should probably leave before things had the chance to go any further. The last thing you needed was another complication. Adjusting your bag, you gave Jungkook a small smile.
“Sounds like a plan,” you said before turning away.
Jungkook chuckled from behind. “Bye, Y/N.”
As you joined Noelle at the door, she stared over your shoulder.
“What?” you said, coming to a stop.
Noelle’s gaze moved to yours in disbelief. “How?” she demanded as you exited class. “How do you have all these men just… tripping over themselves for you?”
Heat rising to your face, you shook your head. “That’s – I,” you sputtered. “You’re being ridiculous!”
“Am I?” Noelle grinned. “First Jimin, now Jungkook… and all this while having a boyfriend.”
“I… you... Jimin is not tripping over himself for me!”
Both her brows shot way, way up. “Is that the only part of the sentence you took objection to?”
“Shut up,” you groaned and shoved her in the side.
Noelle laughed but nodded. “Alright, fine! I’ll stop. Did Sabrina say she’ll come?”
“She did.”
“Great. I still don’t like her,” Noelle said, pushing open the door. “But I guess you’re right, I have an extra ticket. It’s nice to be nice.”
You laughed, pulling your coat tighter as you walked outside. “You’re a saint.”
While you walked, your phone dinged and pulling this from your pocket, you saw a notification on Instagram. Jeon_Jungkook97 has followed you.
Shaking your head, you returned this to your jacket as you continued. While it was nice of Jungkook to compliment your dancing, his approval didn’t mean as much as certain other peoples had. This realization stuck in your mind, making you wonder about Noelle’s teasing jibe.
She had said Jimin flirted with you, but that wasn’t true – was it? You would have known if Jimin were flirting. It was hard to pick out though, since Jimin was friendly with everyone. That was just who he was; as he’d said earlier, he liked to be liked. A note of uncertainty entered your thoughts though, recalling the ballet class with your chest pressed to his. Shoving this away, you forced yourself to focus on the upcoming weekend.
Halloween was a night for fun, for letting loose and enjoying yourself with your friends. You refused to let the night be spoiled by any lingering feelings – either from you, or towards you.
The next night was perfect Halloween weather.
Chilly, but not cold enough to risk snow falling. There were several Halloweens from childhood you could recall trick-or-treating with a winter coat flung over your costume because the temperature had dropped below freezing.
You, Noelle and Irene showed up to Paulo’s house around 8:00 PM, shivering a little while you stood on his doorstep. Paulo was one of the few freshmen who lived off-campus, having known several upperclassmen before he came to Russet. The brownstone he lived in was cute, with window boxes you imagined hosted flowers in the summer.
Tugging your pink and black minidress down, you adjusted your bow as Paulo opened the door.
Blinking, he took in your costumes. “The Powerpuff girls!” He cheered, raising an arm overhead. “Try not to take down any of the villains upstairs, yeah?”
“No promises,” said Irene, flicking hair over her shoulder.
Entering the house, you heard thumping bass from an apartment upstairs. Paulo lived on the third floor and as you climbed the steps, the music grew louder. It took Paulo two tries to shove open the door – “warped wood,” he explained – but once you were inside, you saw familiar faces.
“The Powerpuff girls!” Jasmine cried, jumping up from the couch. “Finally! Thank god – can you take down Eamon? He came here dressed as a potato, or something.”
“It’s an avocado!” Eamon shouted from the kitchen. He was dressed in a round, green costume with a halo overhead. “I’m ‘holy guacamole’ – get it?” he said, pointing at the halo.
Jasmine stared at him a moment. “That’s terrible. Worse than mine,” she said with a wave down her body. “I’ve been Princess Jasmine for the past five Halloweens. It’s easy to remember and I already have the outfit.”
Laughing, you shrugged off your coat and added this to a pile on the couch. “It’s a classic,” you agreed as you turned.
Noelle had managed to procure at least twenty tickets to the party tonight, so a lot of your freshman Russet class was in attendance. Including Sabrina, who stood in the corner, talking to Louis over cups of red punch. She looked up when you entered, pausing before she gave a small wave. Surprised by the gesture, you did the same.
“No.” Noelle groaned, coming to a stop alongside you. When you looked, you saw she’d already removed her coat. “Tell me Sabrina didn’t come to this party dressed as a ballerina.”
“We did invite her at the last minute,” you laughed. “Hard to find a good Halloween costume in a day.”
“Hey,” Noelle argued. “There’s no we here. You were the one who invited her, and you’ll be the one to accept the consequences should your social experiment fail.”
“Done,” you agreed. “Speaking of social experiments though, I’m ready to get drunk tonight. Where’s the alcohol?”
“Kitchen!” Irene called, brushing past. “Or – that’s where Brian disappeared to when we entered, so I can only assume.”
Telling Noelle you’d be back with drinks, you wound through the room towards where Irene had pointed. The kitchen was tiny, on par with most city apartments. There was only room enough for one or two people, so you were lucky it was deserted when you entered.
Surveying the counter, you found the usual party staples. A bowl of red punch, a bunch of beer and various liquor bottles with chasers. Skipping over the communal punch bowl, you reached for a bottle of diet coke and coconut rum.
“Oh,” a voice said as they entered the kitchen. “Sorry – I didn’t know you were in here.”
Glancing up, you saw Jimin and froze.
He’d dyed his hair black – that was the first thing you noticed. Jimin’s hair was no longer blonde, but completely dark. His outfit confused you at first – a frilly, white blouse with slicked-back hair and dark trousers – until you saw his bright red contacts and the dribble of blood at his mouth.
“A vampire,” you said, finally recovering your voice. Scanning his body, you frowned. “Where are the teeth, though?”
Jimin blinked, his gaze jerking up from your waist.
“Huh?” he said, sounding a bit strangled.
Cheeks heating a little – your dress was pretty short – you repeated yourself. “The teeth,” you said, pointing at your own lips. “Don’t vampires have fangs?”
“Oh, right.” Jimin dug around in his pocket – fuck, were his trousers tight – to produce twin fangs. “I took them off when I got here. They’re really hard to talk in.”
“Go on then, Park,” you said with a grin. “Put them in.”
“One second.” Twisting to face the wall, Jimin popped them in his mouth. Turning around, he bared his teeth. “Sexy?”
With the teeth in though, the word came out more like shex-shie and you burst into laughter. “So sexy,” you agreed, reaching past him for a cup.
Jimin stiffened when your arm brushed his front. Unbidden, you thought about what Noelle had said – Jimin had been flirting with you. Pulling away, you resumed making your drinks and tried not to look in his direction.
Even so, you remained aware of his presence. Jimin inched his way behind you, reaching for the whiskey on the other side. His arm brushed your elbow as he went, right knee nudging yours in an intimate gesture.
Glancing up from the counter, you accidentally caught his gaze. Despite your earlier joking, he did look sexy. Devastatingly so. Even the blood-red contacts weren’t enough to deter the shiver which ran down your spine.
Shaking yourself free from your trance, you grabbed both cups and pulled back.
“So, what’re you drinking?” you asked.
You decided it was best to steer the conversation away from how sexy Park Jimin was or was not.
Seemingly oblivious to your inner turmoil, Jimin poured whiskey into his cup. “Whiskey and coke. Can you pass me that bottle?”
“Sure,” you said, leaping at the chance to prevent him from walking past you again. “Here you go.”
Pushing this forward, you watched Jimin pour both drinks all the way to the brim. He paused near the end, staring into the depths before he looked up. He seemed to be warring with something, debating whether or not to speak whatever was on his mind.
“So…” He paused. “Do you know Jungkook, or something?”
You blinked. “Jungkook…?”
“You know, Miss Luna’s assistant. Jeon Jungkook.”
“Oh! Jungkook. No, I don’t really know him.”
“You were talking to him at the end of class, though?”
Hearing the curiosity in his voice, both your brows raised. “And?”
“And nothing,” Jimin said, sounding uncomfortable. “I just… I didn’t know you knew him, that’s all.”
“I mean, I don’t.” You paused. “But even if I did, what does it matter?”
“It doesn’t.” His cheeks began to redden. “It’s just – ah, never mind. We don’t have that great a history, that’s all. He’s kind of the reason I’m at Russet this year.”
You stared at Jimin a moment. “Wow, what a tragedy,” you said, stifling a laugh. “To have been forced to attend one of the most prestigious dance institutions in the world.”
His upper lip twitched. “It’s not that. I was deciding between attending Russet and accepting a job offer out west. I was asked to join this pop star on tour… anyways, Jungkook’s never liked me much. It’s a long story.” Jimin’s brow furrowed. “My offer was rescinded at the last minute. The artist never said why, but I always got the feeling he had something to do with it.”
You stared at Jimin a moment, unsure how to respond. Jungkook hadn’t seemed like that kind of person, but you supposed you’d only talked to him for a few minutes. If that was true, what happened to Jimin sucked and yet, the next words from your mouth nearly had you face-palming.
“And here I thought I was your biggest rival, Park,” you said.
Jimin’s eyes widened. “Are you… jealous, Y/N?”
He sounded almost pleased by the notion, which sent a different kind of shiver down your spine.
“Not at all,” you said quickly, turning back to your drinks.
Jimin made a soft tsk-ing sound, as though he didn’t believe you.
“That sucks,” you continued, determined to change the subject. “I’m sorry that happened to you.”
“Yeah. Maybe it was all for the best, though. Things happen for a reason, right?”
Looking up, you caught Jimin’s stare. He didn’t look immediately away and you got the oddest sensation he meant more than what he said. Hastily, you pushed this feeling aside, clutching your drinks as you entered the main room. Jimin followed close behind, two cups in his hands.
“When did you get here?” you asked. “Been here long?”
Jimin shook his head. “Nah. Hoseok and I got here like, ten minutes ago. He should be around here somewhere, he –”
“Y/N!”
You looked up just in time to see Hoseok, Jimin’s roommate, barreling towards you.
“It’s been so long!” Crushing you to his chest, Hoseok wrapped you in a hug. “Hope Jimin isn’t boring you to death,” he stage-whispered before he pulled away.
“Just for that.” Jimin arched a brow. “Both these drinks are for me.”
“No – wait, wait. I’m sorry!” Hoseok pouted. “Hand over the drink, Park. It’s been the longest fucking week.”
Jimin grinned and relented, handing Hoseok his cup as you laughed. Hoseok was a newer friend, but he was close to Jimin, so he’d gradually bled into your latest gatherings. Despite not being on the ballet track, most of the dancers at Russet knew of him. Hoseok had that way about him.
Glancing down at your outfit, Hoseok held up a finger. “Let me guess – Blossom,” he said, turning to scan the room. “Which means… aha! Irene is Bubbles and Noelle is Buttercup. Makes sense.”
“And you are…” Pausing, you squinted at his outfit. “Someone at the spa?”
“Sure.” Hoseok shrugged. “Honestly, I just wanted to wear a bathrobe.”
Said bathrobe was paired with only boxers, the front of the robe open to display his toned abs. The costume didn’t surprise you, based on past interactions with Hoseok.
Casually, he twirled the robe tie in a circle. “Impressive, no?” Hoseok glanced away. “Whoa, wait – they have beer pong? See you all later!”
Hurrying off, he left you alone with Jimin. Shaking your head, you glanced in his direction and saw Jimin down his whole drink. Arching a brow, you were about to ask why when Irene called your names from across the room.
“Y/N!” She waved her hands. “Jimin! Get over here, you two – we need more for flip cup!”
You found yourself pulled in this direction despite your insistence you didn’t do well under pressure. Jimin ended up at the other end of the table and you lost sight of him when you started to play, paired with Jasmine for a partner.
By the end of the first round, you discovered you weren’t as horrible a player as you’d imagined. Then someone suggested mixed drinks for the second round, and things became fuzzier. There were more people present than just current students of Russet. One of Paulo’s roommates knew Seokjin, so you saw him in the room, along with Sana.
You chatted with both over the course of the evening, in addition to a guy who’d recently debuted on Broadway, Kim Taehyung. Apparently, there was already buzz around him for a Tony. Taehyung was nice, but it was sometime during this conversation you realized how tipsy you were. Apparently, not drinking for several months and then going ham made for very low tolerance.
Collapsing onto the couch, you joined Irene and Brian’s conversation. In the corner of your eye, you caught sight of Noelle – a terrible flip cup player, she’d roped Hoseok into giving her private lessons, but these seemed to be going terribly. Or perhaps very well, given how much the two of them were laughing.
You completely forgot about Jimin until you spotted him across the room talking to Sabrina. Seeing them together, you straightened. Both seemed fairly comfortable, which struck you as odd. Since that morning in Jimin’s dorm, you hadn’t really seen them hang out together.
Despite this, Jimin was laughing at something Sabrina had said. Tearing your gaze away, you forced yourself to focus on the conversation at hand. It didn’t matter who Jimin spoke to, or even who he decided to go home with tonight. He was your dance partner and friend, nothing more and besides – you had a boyfriend.
Blinking, you reached into your clutch and pulled out your phone. To your disappointment, you’d gotten no texts from Finn since this morning. You assumed he was still at his party but didn’t know for sure. Shooting him a text, hey, you waited for a response and when you got none, returned your phone to your purse.
Across the room, you heard Noelle yell your name. “Y/N!” She cupped her mouth with both hands. “We need another person for flip cup!”
Laughing, you pushed yourself from the couch and were immediately roped into your fourth game of the night. The night blurred again after that, turning into a pleasant hum of conversation and booze. At some point, Ubers were called to bring you to the club. As you rushed downstairs, you realized you forgot your coat as soon as you stepped outside.
Shivering violently, you rubbed your arms and cursed yourself for poor foresight.
“Y/N?” Jimin came to a stop alongside you. “Hey, where’s your coat?”
“Inside,” you said through chattering teeth. “I-it’s fine, though. I’m fine!”
Jimin gave you a look. “Where’s Paulo?” he said, glancing around. “I’ll grab him, we can get your coat before we go –”
“The Uber’s already here, though,” you argued, grabbing his sleeve to drag him towards the curb. “I’ll be fine from here to the club!”
Jimin sighed but gave in, following when you rushed to the grey SUV. Irene had claimed the front seat, so you and Jimin pulled open the middle door – Noelle and Hoseok were crowding behind you, so you and Jimin ended up together in the backseat.
Collapsed in a heap, you giggled as Jimin tried to squish himself in a corner. “Sorry,” he said, trying – and failing – to keep his knees separate.
“Jimin.” You snorted. “Are we going to go through this again? Your hands have been in way more inappropriate places than that this semester.”
Jimin’s lips parted, shocked, but you were already hoisting yourself over the middle seat. Draping your arms next to Noelle, you begged her to play your favorite song on the radio. Had you been more sober, you might’ve recognized your position to be precarious – perched on the edge of your seat, your ass hovered inches away from Jimin’s face.
Plopping back down, you glanced sideways at Jimin and found him frozen. Suddenly, you realized the visual he’d had.
“Um, so what happened to the teeth?” you blurted, determined to change the subject.
Jimin blinked and managed to meet your gaze. “Casualty of flip cup,” he said. “One of them fell out during the game and I couldn’t find where it rolled.”
“Well, that’s okay. You can just be one of those vampires who blend in with normal humans. You know, the kind whose fangs only come out when they want to bite someone.”
“That’s true.” Jimin arched a brow. “Lucky for you, I’m not hungry.”
“Lucky for me? Lucky for you,” you retorted. “My blood is about half alcohol right now. If you drank my blood, you’d be a very silly vampire.”
The idea of a silly vampire made you laugh – even more so when you pictured said vampire as Jimin. He seemed much too coherent for your liking right now.
“A silly vampire, huh?” Jimin looked on, amused. “Damn, Y/N – when was the last time you went out? Your tolerance is shit.”
“I know,” you sighed. “I haven’t drunk much this semester. Too much dance, too little time. I think the last time I went out was –”
“We’re here!” squealed Noelle, throwing open the door.
A blast of cold air hit you and you shivered, wishing you’d worn your coat. Jimin’s gaze remained steady on yours.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” he said lowly. “I can give you, uh…”
“Your shirt?” you said dryly, lifting a brow as you brushed past. “Then you’d be shirtless, Park. Let’s think this through.”
Jimin chuckled before he followed suit, although you cursed as soon as you left the car. He was correct. It was freezing, even with your alcohol-induced blanket.
“Come on!” you yelped, following Noelle towards the entrance.
Bypassing the line, Noelle walked straight towards the bouncer and showed him her phone. He nodded and waved her past, counting your friend group who followed. Not everyone from Paulo’s place had gone to the club, but enough for you to make quite the entrance.
“Y/N!” Noelle doubled back to link arms with you. “Come on – this way! That guy’s going to show us to our table.”
“Table?” you asked her, wide-eyed.
Tables in a club on Halloween night were ridiculously expensive, but it seemed Noelle had downplayed her brother’s connections. Your group was led right to the front of the upper balcony, getting a coveted spot overlooking the dance floor below.
This was undeniably the coolest club you’d been in. Not that you’d been in many, mind you, but this one had to take the cake. A half-circle of tables took up the top floor, with twin staircases descending to the main room below. Most of the lower floor was for dancing, although you saw additional tables pushed to the sides. Fluorescent bars and dance platforms were dotted throughout and above all was the DJ booth, blasting the latest songs.
“Whoa,” you breathed.
Noelle grinned, squeezing your arm to pull you into the booth. As soon as you settled in, Jasmine leapt up and clapped her hands.
“I want to be in one of those!” she said, pointing to a glowing cage at the center of the dance floor.
“Oo, me too!” Irene leapt up to join her.
“Me, three!” said Paulo, clambering out of the booth.
“Awesome.” Irene beamed and glanced your way. “What about you, Y/N? You in?”
The idea was tempting for a moment, but then Finn flashed through your mind. You highly doubted he’d be on board with you gyrating for a room full of strangers without him. Somewhat dejectedly, you plopped back on the bench.
“That’s okay,” you sighed. “I think I’m going to stay here for a while. I’ll join you later!”
Irene frowned but nodded, following the rest when they left for the stairs. About half the group went, clearing out the table while you stared at the dance floor.
Jimin slid into the bench alongside you. “You don’t want to dance?”
Startled, you glanced in his direction. While you watched, Jimin began to undo his cuffs, casually rolling the sleeves of his shirt. His hair, which had been slicked back at the start of the night, was starting to fall. Several dark strands hung over his forehead, although this only seemed to make the look more appealing.
“No,” you said, crossing your legs. “I just… don’t really feel like it.”
“Is this the whole hating clubs thing again?”
“Kind of.” You laughed. “I don’t know. Club dancing isn’t like normal dancing, you know?”
“It is when you’re at the club with all dancers,” Jimin pointed out, nodding towards the floor.
Following his gaze, you saw Jasmine dancing full-out in a lit-up cage. She wasn’t so much gyrating as she was creating choreography on the fly. The mere mortals around her looked on in awe. Fighting a smile, you returned to Jimin.
“Okay, that does look like fun,” you admitted. “The last time I was at a club was with Finn.”
Jimin blinked. “Sorry – what?”
“In the cab,” you said, leaning closer in order to be heard. “You asked me when I last went out. It was that night… um, the night you came and picked me up.”
Jimin stared at you a moment, as though contemplating something important. Abruptly, he stood and held out a hand. You blinked at this like he’d offered a football.
“What are you doing?” you said, glancing up.
“Taking you down to the dance floor.” Jimin retracted said hand. “Come on, Y/N! You don’t have to give out dry lap dances, or whatever.”
“Hey!” In disbelief, your mouth fell open. “You said you’d forget all about that!”
His smile turned impish. “Seriously, we can just do the sprinkler, or something. It’ll be fun!”
“The sprinkler?” Starting to laugh, you stood. “Was that really the first move you thought of?”
“Nah. My go-to move is the criss-cross, but I figured this was more your speed.”
Snorting, you shoved him in the arm before following Jimin to the dance floor. It didn’t take you long to spot your other friends, clustered near the front and around the DJ booth.
“Y/N!” Noelle cheered, breaking off from the pack. “You made it!”
She nearly spilled her drink while she danced, catching herself just in time as she spun around. You grinned, entering the circle with Jimin by your side. He did, in fact, pull out the criss-cross – Hoseok joined in and soon, there was a Fortnite dance battle between them. You truly haven’t lived until you’ve seen a TikTok dance-off between two semi-professional dancers.
This ended with both declaring mutual defeat, and Hoseok disappearing to buy the next round. Noelle shimmied her way over to Jasmine, accepting the hand given to stand on the platform.
You laughed at their ridiculous dance moves, choosing instead to stay on the ground. The crowd around you had thinned since you’d joined. Eamon disappeared a few minutes later, saying something about needing a drink upstairs. Before long, Irene had joined Jasmine and Noelle on the platform, leaving you alone with Jimin on the floor.
Under other circumstances, you might have felt uncomfortable, but Jimin was so good at putting you at ease. Determined to keep you in the present, he came up with more and more complicated dance moves which had you snorting with laughter.
On a particularly flamboyant spin, Jimin accidentally smacked the drink from someone’s grasp. Blue vodka splattered everywhere, drenching its owner – a burly man in leather who snarled in frustration.
Looking up, he met your gaze and his eyes narrowed.
“Shit. Run!” you blurted out.
Grabbing Jimin by the arm, you dragged him into the crowd.
“No, wait – let me apologize!” Jimin tried to twist around. “I can pay for his drink! I can –”
Once there was suitable distance between you and the guy, you came to a stop. Laughing so hard you nearly fell over, you turned sideways to face him.
Bodies pressed against you from every side but rather than feel claustrophobic, all you could think about was Jimin before you. His hair had become thoroughly mussed during the night and you fought the sudden desire to smooth it down.
Although your breath came hard, the club around you seemed to slow. The music somehow had narrowed to pinpricks, a heady thump of bass while everything dulled.
What you should’ve done was taken a step back – but you didn’t.
Instead, your gaze drifted across his face. Jimin stared back, something intense to his gaze you couldn’t quite name. Breath caught in your throat, his eyes dropped to your lips.
Before you could react, someone bumped into you from behind, sending you careening forward. Jimin caught you easily, one arm around your waist and your chest pressed to his. You could feel every hard line of his body, his thigh wedged between your legs while you grasped at his arms. Heart thudding traitorously against your ribcage, you tried to ignore the emotions which followed.
It was impossible.
The song playing was slower, sexier than the one which had inspired the dance-off. Without meaning to, your weight subtly shifted. This caused your hips to move against his as Jimin quietly sucked in a breath. The effect this had on him was instantaneous. His grip on you tightened, gaze heady with desire and something more. Before you could second-guess what you were doing, you moved your hips again – this time, on purpose.
Jimin’s eyes darkened. Without looking away, his grip on you tightened as he slowly dragged you up his thigh. Suddenly breathless, your hands gripped him tighter while your eyes fluttered shut. The heat of his body on yours, the faint smell of cologne and sweat, the tension in his limbs and the knowledge of what he could do to you – it all left your head spinning.
“Y/N,” Jimin murmured, low in your ear.
You weren’t used to him saying your name like that.
You were used to him saying your name in every other way, but not that. Sharp with dancer’s critique, brusque with instruction, light with teasing – but not like something heavy was lodged in his throat. Maybe his heart.
Panicked, your eyes flew open.
What were you doing? This wasn’t some random stranger and this sure as hell wasn’t your boyfriend. This was Jimin. Stumbling backwards, you broke from his hold. Jimin seemed equally stunned, staring at you on the dance floor.
“I have to go,” you blurted and whirled around.
Shoving into the crowd, you heard Jimin emit a soft groan. Despite this, he didn’t immediately pursue, for which you were grateful. Stumbling through strangers, strobe lights flashed brightly overhead. You squeezed between someone dressed as a go-go and another person dressed as a werewolf. Skidding to a stop on the edge of the floor, you scanned the room and saw no one from Russet.
When you glanced over your shoulder, you saw Jimin now followed. Panicking again, you began to move. Beside one of the bars, you spotted a hallway labeled restrooms. Heading in this direction, you quickly disappeared inside the door marked women.
Once inside, you locked yourself in a stall, lowered the lid and sat down. Head in hands, you slowly exhaled. You were a coward; that much was clear. Jimin was probably out there looking for you right now, but you’d rather hide in a bathroom than face him.
The fluorescent lighting overhead was too bright – it made you feel overexposed. After a long moment, you fished around in your purse and pulled out your phone. Flipping to your thread with Finn, you saw he’d sent no response since your text. Complete and utter silence.
Heart cracking a little, you slid this in your bag and stared at the door. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. When you imagined you and Finn at college, you’d always pictured you together, attending the same parties and sharing the same adventures. Tonight though, had proven to be anything but that. Finn hadn’t once glanced at his phone judging by the unread mark next to your text.
Dimly, you wondered why you weren’t more upset about this. It should bother you that Finn hadn’t called or even texted throughout the day. Sure, he was out with friends, but so were you and you’d reached out – as soon as you thought this, your heart sank.
You weren’t sure you could call Jimin a friend after what had just happened.
Sure, you’d only danced, and it had only been for a second but still, guilt bloomed behind your ribcage. The idea of Finn doing the same thing with anyone else made your heart twist. You wouldn’t feel that way if what you’d done wasn’t wrong.
Groaning out loud, you lowered your head to your hands. After several minutes, you felt calm enough to stand and pretend-flush the toilet. As you exited the stall, you walked to the sink and began washing your hands. Staring at yourself in the mirror, a million things ran through your mind.
Clearly, the situation with Jimin was worse than you’d thought. The spark you’d felt kept returning, no matter how much you tried to ignore it. Maybe the only solution was to find a new partner. The very idea made your heart sink, but you couldn’t deny things had gotten out of hand.
Before you could seriously consider the option, the door to the bathroom flung open and banged against the wall. Sabrina stormed in, wiping both eyes with the heel of her hand. You froze, staring at her in the mirror but she didn’t seem to notice your presence.
When she finally lowered her hands and took a deep breath, she saw you and froze.
For a moment, you both only stared at each other and then – you coughed. Awkwardly, you began to dry your hands.
“Are you okay?” you asked, tentative.
Sabrina stiffened. “I’m fine,” she muttered, walking to the sink.
You watched her wash her hands, struggling and failing to control her expression. Sabrina’s hair was a mess and you stared, wondering where she’d been. You hadn’t seen her since you’d entered the club, but had assumed she’d stayed on the second floor.
“Are you sure?” you pressed, remembering your night at the other club. “You know, you can –”
“Will you… just stop.” Sabrina closed her eyes. “Will you … stop pretending like we’re friends, or something?”
Struck with disbelief, you could only stare. “I… are you serious?”
“Yes.”
“Wow.” You shook your head. “Just wow.”
Her lips tightened and finally, she whirled around. “What?” Sabrina demanded. “What is it?”
The look in her eyes was familiar. Her frustrated, angry look was mirrored in your expression, but you found you didn’t care. Sabrina was clearly going through something, but her rudeness to you was the final straw. Tired from Finn, Jimin and the constant pressure you were both under, something about Sabrina’s words made you break.
“Why are you always such a… such a bitch,” you blurted, hurling the word like a knife. “What did I ever do to you? Why do you always act like you hate me so much?”
Sabrina’s upper lip curled. “Why do you always think this is about you, Y/N? Maybe I just wanted one second of peace and instead, here you are. Like always.”
“Here I am, in the public restroom of a club we’re all at?”
“No. Here you are in my life,” she snapped, pushing herself from the sink. “People won’t talk to me? It’s because you’ve run your mouth about things you think I’ve done. I’m falling in the class ranks? It’s because you’re after my spot. Jimin doesn’t want to be my partner? It’s because of his feelings for you. I’m sick of turning around and always seeing you there!”
“Okay, but none of those things – I, Jimin doesn’t have feelings for me,” you sputtered.
Sabrina gave you a look. “Oh, please, Y/N.” Her laughter was harsh. “Why else would he turn me down?”
“Um, maybe because he’s a decent human being? Unlike yourself.”
“Great, yeah.” Sabrina glared. “Make me the bad guy again.”
“I’m not the one doing that,” you huffed. “You are. You want to blame me because no one wants to be your friend? Maybe try reaching out first. Maybe don’t talk shit about people behind their backs. And I’m improving because I’m taking extra lessons. No thanks to you, of course.”
“Don’t try and make me feel bad because I didn’t have time to give you lessons.”
“I’m not trying to make you feel bad. I’m trying to explain why I’m improving and you’re not.”
Sabrina bristled. “Are you saying I don’t work hard, too?”
“No.” Mirthless, you laughed. “I know you work hard – maybe even as hard as I do. But you know what the big difference is between you and me?” you said, drawing yourself to your full height.
Sabrina’s eyes glimmered while she stared you down. Still, she retained her aloofness when she said, “What? What’s the big secret?”
“You think everyone’s out to get you,” you said, stepping closer. “You think not asking for help makes you stronger, but it’s the exact opposite. At least I’ve improved since the start of the year. What have you done?”
Not waiting for an answer, you pushed past Sabrina and walked out the door.
Shoving it wide, you entered the hallway. Dance music flooded your senses and you winced, remembering where you were and what you’d been doing. Luckily, Jimin was nowhere in sight. He must not have seen where you’d disappeared to.
Shoulders slumping, you pulled out your phone and dialed a number. Walking to the front, you concentrated on breathing while you waited for them to pick up. Coming to a stop beside coat check, you didn’t leave the club – a lesson you’d learned the hard way.
Noelle answered on the third ring. “Babe?” she yelled, barely audible over the din. “What’s going on? Where are you?”
“Are you…” Closing your eyes, you paused. “Can we leave?”
Noelle paused, then muffled her phone with one hand. “Irene!” you heard her yell. “You good to get a ride home for these people? Okay, cool. Bye!” Her phone became un-muffled. “Where are you, babe?”
After explaining your location, you hung up and hugged yourself with both arms. Noelle burst into view a few moments later, scanning the crowd like a mom on a mission. When she saw you, she rushed over – and you promptly burst into tears.
“Oh, no!” Pulling you into a hug, Noelle began to rub your back. “No, no, babe! Don’t cry! What’s going on? Do I need to kick someone’s ass?”
Hearing Jimin’s words said by Noelle only made you cry harder. Wisely sensing this to be a problem not easily solved, Noelle continued rubbing your back while walking towards the exit.
The two of you went outside and, as luck would have it, saw a group of people arriving at the club. Noelle snagged their taxi, helping you in the backseat and giving the driver your address. As you settled against her, your head on her shoulder, Noelle kept rubbing your arm and waited for the tears to stop.
You weren’t really sure why you were crying.
Of course, Sabrina was terrible, as was the situation with Jimin, but it was more than that. Dancing with Jimin hadn’t caused problems in your relationship with Finn. There had been problems in your relationship Finn and so, feelings had crept in which led you to dance with Jimin.
More than that though, you couldn’t help but notice Noelle had come to your aid much faster than Finn ever had. Even Jimin had dropped everything when you asked, and he was someone you’d once called your enemy. Noelle had been having fun, but she’d cut her night short because you were upset. This knowledge crushed you and for the very first time, you realized your relationship with Finn might be unfixable.
Curled up on the backseat, you let yourself cry a bit more. You could be calm and rational in the morning, you decided but for now, you just felt defeated.
When you finally climbed into bed at your dorm at night, you looked at your phone and saw Finn still hadn’t texted.
Somehow, after hours of crying, you finally fell asleep on your bed. You're not quite sure when it happened. Your covers tucked nicely under you, wet from your tears. When you first got home, you immediately snuck up to your room, far from your parents. You ripped off your Labor Day dress, having already hated it, but you also took your aggression out on it. You changed in one of Topper's T-shirts that you stole sometime last summer... when you were hooking up. You had never been so close. Morning, noon, and night you were together. You were practically dating but without the titles. Actually, it was far deeper than that. You spent almost every hour together, you co-existing. You were acting married even though you were only teenagers. You guys just loved each other that much. If someone had told you then that a year from now you two wouldn't be talking, you would've thought they were crazy.
“Y/N!" You hear Topper in your dreams.  "Y/N!" He repeats, then you process it's real.
"What the-" You rise from your laid position and spot the boy climbing in from your window in the dark. "Topper?"
"Hey! Sorry to scare you," he apologizes as he rises to his feet from a crawling position on your floor.
"Did you climb through the window?" You question, this wouldn't be the first time, but it nevertheless is mind-boggling to you how he can climb up the side of your house.
"Yeah, can you tell your mom to not have the gardeners cut the vines so short?" He complains with a chuckle, brushing down his Patagonia shirt.
"What are you doing here?" You yawn. Considering what he said to you just hours before, you can't help but wonder why the fuck he's here.
"I... I need to apologize," he stammers, taking a seat on the edge of your bed just by your legs. "Y/N, I'm so sorry! I was such a jerk to you earlier. I shouldn't have-"
Before he can even finish, you leap at him, pulling him into a pleading hug. "Jesus, I'm so happy you're here," you whisper against his shoulder.
Topper instantly wraps his arms around you, engulfing you. He releases a deep breath, not having realized until this moment that he couldn't breathe the entire time you weren't talking. "I've missed you!" He pulls back and brushes his hand across your cheek, bringing your hair back. "I missed you the moment you left!" He wears a smile of relief as his eyes glisten with tears threatening to fall.
"Never let me go again," you mutter, almost as a beg.
"I could never. I didn't," Topper explains in a rushed whisper, gripping your waist. "As soon as you left I was a mess, ask the boys! They had to talk me off a cliff. I came by earlier but your parents said you were still at Kiara's... which I'm guessing you were with JJ and the other Pogues..." His face falters and he avoids your gaze at the mention of JJ.
You bring your hand up and tuck your fingers under his chin, guiding him to look at you. His eyes meet you with defeat and it nearly breaks your heart. "JJ drove me back to John B's, but I had Sarah drive me home almost as soon as we got there."
"So you and JJ..." He can't bring himself to ask.
"We..." Your brows scrunch together as you realize you never really discussed it. "You know what, I didn't even know." Enough about JJ, you're just happy that Topper is here! You felt so empty all day, in a constant state of panic. Now, you can exist again. "I'm just relieved you're here, Top. I've felt sick to my stomach all day," you release a breathless laugh of relief.
"No, yeah you're right, no one else matters," he shakes his head, reaching for your hand on his cheek and taking it in his hands. "As long as we're good then everything else will be okay." He lifts your hand to his lips and gives them a needy kiss.
"Stay with me?" You ask softly as he does.
You see him swallow hard, pausing with your hand his lips. His eyes flicker up to yours with a mixture of surprise and admiration. "I was hoping you'd ask." A faint grin appearing on the edge of his lips.
You and Topper get ready for bed as you used to every night when he snuck into your room a lot more. You've shared a bed since breaking off your... arrangement. There was the ski trip and Bermuda, but on random nights when he couldn't sleep or missed you, Topper would find himself in your bed. You pull back your blankets, knowing to get on the side closest to the window, away from the door. Topper didn't need to think twice to move to the opposite side because ever in the case of an emergency, he's the closest to the door. He's always thinking of how to keep you safe and satisfied. As you climb in, Topper begins to remove his t-shirt and shorts. You can't help but watch as his clothes become a pile on his side. It's months since you two have done anything, but that doesn't mean you haven't thought about it. There have been opportunities, but you always try to be responsible and remember why you stopped. Topper doesn't notice your staring and wondering what it would feel like to run your fingers down his chest. He climbs in next to you and immediately guides you into his side. Instantly, you feel secure and wanted, which is all anyone ever needs. He brushes his fingertips up and down your spine gently while you rest your cheek against his bare chest. It's not a new feeling to you, but it certainly never gets old.
"There's a bonfire tomorrow at the Boneyard, wanna go together?" The boy asks, glancing down at you.
"As long as Rafe doesn't go wild as he did," you snicker, but you mean what you say.
"Don't worry about him, we had a nice long chat once he sobered up this afternoon," he insinuates and you wish you would've seen Topper go off on him. Then, you comprehend that it might've only happened because Topper was mad at you and Rafe was getting the side effects.
"He doesn't deserve you, Top." You mutter, lifting your head off his chest to place a quick kiss on his chest.
"That's how I feel about myself with you," he confesses as he peers down at you. "You've always been there for me. When Sarah cheated, you were right there and pulled me through it. The way I spoke to you this morning. I-"
"No, no, don't say that," you shake your hand repeatedly as you cup his cheek as you did before. He leans into your touch and you find yourself wishing to be closer to him, as though that's even possible. "I love you, Top. You're my best friend. I'll always be there for you. You've helped me in more ways than you could ever realize."
"I love you too, Y/N," he smiles, leaning down and placing a kiss on your forehead. "So much..." he whispers against your skin.
His eyes flicker down to your neck and you remember last night in the kitchen. You brush your hand across Topper's cheek, pulling his focus back to you. His eyes and features falter at the evidence of JJ on you.
"I'm here with you! Okay? It's you and me," you try to emphasize.
He nods slowly, still feeling an ache in his chest, but relieved to have you in his arms. You're it for Topper. He would do anything for you, drop anyone for you, nothing is too much. You alone are what drives him and are the reason he wakes up in the morning. He would never admit it aloud out of guilt, but when he was with Sarah, he always compared her to you. He doesn't fully know why he dated her, maybe because he felt you slipping away when you realized that you no longer wanted to hook up. He couldn't lose you so he tried to replace you, but he quickly realized that was impossible. No one could be you.
_____________________________________
Topper woke up before you and let you sleep, pondering having you in his arms. Your legs entangled in his, your arm across his chest along with your cheek. In the light, he finally notices you wearing his shirt. A faint smile forms on his lips at the sight. He has you here with him, not with JJ or Rafe or anyone else who's pining after you. You're his.
You've spent the entire day together on Topper's boat. It couldn't have been more perfect. The hours slipped by without either of you two noticing. Topper has been energized and enthusiastic about everything, all because he has you back. Around ten, you and Topper arrive at the Boneyard for the final bonfire of the summer. You wear distressed white short shorts over a black tank bodysuit with a matching black Chanel belt. All finished with the pearl earrings Topper gave you for Christmas last year.
Topper keeps you close, his arm around your waist as you walk toward the crowd of teenagers. "I'm so lucky."
You peer up at the boy with a giggle. "Why?"
"I have the most beautiful girl in the OBX at my side," he flirts.
You turn your attention ahead, struggling to hide your blushing. "You sound like Rafe."
Topper steps around to walk backward in front of you. He locks his fingers through the loops of your shorts and pulls you into his chest. "At least he and I agree on something." He grins, resting his hands on your hips.
You playfully roll your eyes but find it hard to hide your amusement. "You're such a cheese ball."
"I'm gonna go get us some drinks," he announces before planting a quick peck to your temple.
You nod, stepping back toward the shore as Topper holds onto your hands until the last minute. "Okay, I'll find us a spot by the water."
"Be right there," he winks, offering you a mischievous smirk.
For a second, you watch Topper jog off to the stack of coolers by the cement wall. Is it possible to be too dependent on someone? You know that if you and Topper stopped talking completely that you wouldn't physically die, but emotionally it would destroy you. You smile, knowing that you two will grow closer because of your fight. It taught you a valuable lesson. It took losing Topper for you to fully comprehend how much you need him. Turning on your heels, you head toward a log facing the shore. It's far enough from the chaos to give you and Topper some privacy, but close enough to still be included in the festivities. You two are both social butterflies, but today has been about you two and you want to keep it that way. You sit down on the log, content watching the small waves crashing against the sand just a few feet away. The light of the moon shimmers on the water, making it looks like lines of crystal.
"Want a drink, Princess?" A familiar voice asks over your shoulder
You glance up to see a
"Wow, you look extra Kooky tonight," he remarks under his breath as he brings his cup to his mouth.
You glare at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Let's play a game!" He blurts out. "How many items that Y/N is wearing are designer?"
You roll your eyes, realizing how drunk he is because JJ isn't like this. "How much have you had to drink?"
"Just the right amount!" He answers swiftly before moving on. "My guess is all of them, but I can't be too sure. You'll have to take off your clothes so I can check what's underneath."
"You wanna sit for a second? Maybe cool down a bit?" You offer, gesturing to the space beside you.
His expression shifts from carefree to hurt. "Why do you care?"
"JJ..." You sigh, peering up at the boy with immense guilt.
"What?!" He tosses his arms up at his sides, losing some of his drink in the process. "You come here with Prince Charming, acting all coupley!"
 "It's not like that-" You try to explain calmly.
"Not according to Sarah!" He counters in a shout. You nervously check over at the crowd, making sure no one heard him burst. "You two planning your next trip to Bermuda?!"
"What!" You whip your head back around toward JJ. "What did Sarah tell you?!" You fly up to your feet, stepping toward him defensively.
"Did you sleep with him?!" JJ yells again and you're sure others heard him this time.
"Excuse me?" You gasp at his audacity.
"After you left John B's, did you go and find him?!" He elaborates with a breathless laugh. He steps closer to you, getting in your face. He doesn't care if others listen or if he's making you uncomfortable. "After you kissed me and slept in my bed, did you go and sleep with Topper?!"
Abruptly, you feel a hand pressed to your back and see JJ being shoved backyard.
"Hey! Back off man!" Topper growls, suddenly at your side.
JJ catches himself from falling after a second of stumbling. "Oh and here he is now!" He laughs, tossing his cup to the side. "Your knight in shining armor!"
"I think you should go, man!" Topper warns between his teeth.
Topper's arm slips around you and grips your waist protectively. You watch JJ as he glares at Topper's arm around you.
"Don't "man" me, alright! Touch me again and you'll lose a hand!" JJ threatens.
"JJ!" John B calls for his friend as he runs toward you from down the beach. Kiara, Pope, and Sarah are close behind him. When JJ doesn't react. John B shouts again. JJ! Come on, let's go back over to the fire."
"No! Not until she answers me!" JJ screams, yanking his arm free.
Pope, Kiara, and Sarah watch in distress as JJ and Topper go back and forth. None of you are sure what to do.
"Answer what!" Topper barks, stepping toward JJ defensively. You grab his arm, keeping him back.
"Oh, I'm sorry! Is your name Y/N?" JJ laughs mockingly. "That Kook Academy doesn't do you guys any favors for your intelligence does it?"
Pope steps around to block off his friend. "Just cool down, buddy!"
"I knew you were Kook, Y/N, but I would've never marked you as slut," JJ shouts at you over Pope's shoulder.
Topper breaks free of your hold, charging at JJ. John B grabs Pope and yanks him out of Topper's way. Now block-less, JJ runs at Topper. His face is red with aggravation. You could've never imagined seeing JJ look so enraged. The person he was with you the other night was entirely different. He was kind, gentle, understanding. You don't recognize him. Topper shoves JJ hard enough to make the boy fall back onto the sand.
Topper tackles JJ into the ankle-deep water, immediately punching him in the jaw. The two grunt, struggling to get the upper hand. John B attempts to pull Topper off.
"Topper!" You yell desperately.
"JJ!" Kiara yells from the sidelines.
"Enough!" John B barks at the pair as Pope runs to assist.
The crowd by the bonfire starts to figure out what's going on a few yards away and rush over to watch. Pogues and Kooks each cheer for their fighter. Kelce and Rafe show up, pushing through the crowd to help out their friend.
"Topper! Get off of him!" You plead as your best friend continues to press JJ's head under the water.
JJ manages to punch Topper in the cheek, making the boy lose his balance for a second. Despite hating each other, Kelce and Rafe try to help out John B and Pope.
"Guys! Quit!" Kelce commands, pulling at Topper.
"Top, you'll kill him!" Sarah screams from beside Kiara.
You want to go stand with them, but at this moment you're not sure if they want anything to do with you. Sarah and Kiara are Pogues. You're not just Y/N right now, their friend. You're a Kook during this Kook vs. Pogue fight.
The boys manage to yank Topper off of JJ. The blonde Pogue flies up from beneath the surface, gasping for air. Topper falls back onto the sand in a seated position. Topper continues to fist JJ's collar and as he's shoved off, ripping JJ's shirt down the front. You notice the large purple and blue bruise on JJ's chest and freshly heeling cut down his neck to his collar bone. JJ frantically reaches behind himself, searching for something. Then, things take a turn for the worst when he whips out a gun. The crowd that watched the fight with amusement now scatters in a panic.
"Woah! Woah! Woah!" Topper's eyes grow wide as he starts to scoot back, holding up a hand pleadingly.
Kelce and Rafe bolt away, John B and Pope rush out words, trying to calm JJ down.
"JJ!" John B yells at his friend. "What the hell?!"
"Oh my god!" Sarah's hands fly up to her mouth.
"That's right! Bet you didn't think I had that did ya?" JJ grins wickedly at Topper.
"Topper!" Kelce attempts to collect his friend but halts when JJ points the gun at him.
"Everyone back off!" JJ orders, rising to his feet, returning the gun's point toward Topper.
Without a second thought, you sprint across the sand. You slide in front of Topper, the waves splashing against you.
"Y/N! No!" Topper screams as soon as you land in JJ's path.
"Y/N!" Sarah and Kiara shout your name in unison.
JJ hesitates when his eyes land on you. You see him lower the gun a little and Kelce takes the opportunity to pull Topper from the scene.
"JJ please..." you beg of him.
Your heart is racing, but you're certain JJ won't hurt you. Despite his evident pain and anger toward you, he won't do it. You remember the boy from the other night, the one who spoke to you with such admiration. That boy wouldn't harm you. You know he's in there beneath this tough facade.
"Y/N! Come on!" Rafe wraps his fingers around your arm and drags you away.
While he's distracted by you, John B swiftly steals the gun from JJ's hand and begins ushers him away to their circle of friends. The Pogues swarm JJ, all talking over each other.
 Rafe frantically cups your face, checking on you. "Y/N! Y/N, are you okay?"
"I'm fine..." You mutter, glancing over your shoulder, watching John B talk to JJ down the beach.
"No cuts? Scrapes?" Rafe panics.
"No..." You shake your head absent-mindedly as you’re too distracted by observing JJ.
"Are you okay?" Kiara checks on JJ worriedly as you watch from a distant.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine!" JJ rushes out, still agitated. "Fuck this man!" He swears, then his eyes land on yours with surprise. He hand’t expected you to be listening or even care.
You two stare each other from across the beach. Guilt consumes his features and sympathy breaks you apart as your vision lands on the wounds covering JJ’s torso. Rafe brings you over to Kelce who has Topper catching his breath against a tree.
"Dude's fucking nuts, man!" Kelce curses, all fidgety beside you.
As soon Topper sees you coming, he pushes himself off the tree and rushes to you. His arms engulf you as he presses you to his chest.
He squats down to be at your level, cupping your face in his hands. “You’re so stupid, Y/N! You just jumped in front of a gun! Why would you do that?!”
“Because it was pointed at you!” You justify desperately.
Topper's eyes soften. “You’d risk your life for me?! Are you crazy?!” A soft, breathless, laugh escapes him.
“Of course I would you idiot!” You remark with frustration. How could he possibly think you wouldn't? You'd do anything for the boy.
“God, I love you so much," he mutters, placing a hand on either side of your head and planting a kiss on your forehead.
“Are you sure you’re not hurt anywhere?” You check his body in a panic.
“Yes, yes I’m okay!” He assures you. “Let’s get out of here before things get crazy again."
Your eyes grow wide. “Agreed!”
He looks over at you and Topper doting on each other. It makes him even more pissed off. "Great! Go baby him! Tend to your Kook Prince, you Princess!" He yells across the beach.
John B covers his friend's mouth. "Shut up, JJ!"
"Jesus JJ!" Pope huffs under his breath.
You and Topper snap your heads in JJ's direction. As a result, Topper pulls you into his side securely.
“We'll text you guys later!” Kelce calls out to you both as he and Rafe start backing toward their cars.
“Stay close to me,” Topper slips his into yours, giving it a tight squeeze. “I’m never letting that psycho Pogue anywhere near you again!”
When you arrive at Topper's car, he opens your door for you. He keeps a sharp eye on the Pogues that remain on the beach. When John B or any of them glance our way, he glares daggers in their direction. Once you climb in, Topper reaches in and begins to buckle your seat belt as though you were a toddler in a car seat.
“Topper I think I can put on my own seat belt,” you
“I know, Sweetheart. I’m just..." he stops his action, kneeling beside you. "I guess I’m still a little scared. I was so afraid when that gun was pointed at you, I... I couldn’t breathe. I can never lose you, Y/N,” he rushes out, becoming emotional.
Your emotions become bottled up as a lump in your throat. You rub your fingers through Topper's hair and plant a kiss on his forehead. His hands glide around your waist to your back, hugging you needly. His head rests against your chest as you cradle it.
Abruptly, he breaks from you as a thought pops into his mind. “Promises me that if there’s any dangerous situation like that again, you run!" He instructs sternly. "You don’t do anything reckless for my sake!”
You shake your head frantically, already rejecting his words. “You would’ve done the same thing for me! You basically did!” You justify.
“I’m seriously Y/N!" Topper stands his ground. Eagerly, he takes removes your hands from his hair and squeezes them in his own. "I could never live with myself if something happened to you! Never again!”
You want to argue with him on it, claim that if he's going to be protective of you that he must understand that you'll be the same. Yet, nothing escapes you. Instead, you simply nod, not wanting to fight at this moment.
He nods, satisfied by your compliance. “I love you, you know that right?”
You nod. “I love you too, Topper."
_________________________________________
JJ fell into a dark abyss of self-deprecation and destruction after the bonfire. The Pogues all drove back to John B's, but as soon as they got there JJ disappeared as he did the day before. All they can do is wonder where he goes. If they knew that he was at the bar searching for his dad half drunk, they would be stopping a second fight for the day.
JJ can't help but feel responsible for it all. One minute he has you. You're right there. The next, you're gone, in the arms of Topper of all people. He wants to know if anything from the other night was real for you. Was he just a game to you? You're the Princess of the OBX, you can have anything you want, including JJ if you asked. Is that what happened? You wanted him for a night and then got bored and went back to your fellow Kook. He wishes he hadn't let you down. He wishes you were here. He wishes that he could hold you again and feel you in his arms. Waking up next to you was the best moment in his life and he fears he'll never feel that sort of peace again.
______________________________________________________
You Topper spend the night at his house, too afraid to be apart. Late into the night, Topper struggles to fall asleep as he holds you. Your back is pressed to his chest as his hands rest against you underneath his shirt you're wearing. Every time he tries to close his eyes, he envisions what could've happened tonight. You could've been shot. Topper could never live with himself if anything happened to you. Moving slowly to not wake you, he rolls onto his back and reaches toward the nightstand for his phone. He begins to scroll through social media and text messages, responding in the group chat between you, Kelce, Rafe, and himself. You've all agreed to go to lunch tomorrow at the Club with some other Kooks from the bonfire.
You stir next to Topper, making the boy pause for a second. When you roll over still asleep and curl into him, a wave of relief rushes over Topper.
“Go back to sleep,” you yawn.
Topper jumps at the sudden sound of your voice. “Shit... sorry Beautiful, I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“I’ve been awake. I could feel you overthinking," you whisper, scooting closer into his side.
“You could feel me thinking?” He repeats with a hint of confusion.
You hum, as it makes perfect sense to you. You hear the sound of Topper pushing his phone back onto the side table. He rests his now free hand over your arm that lays across him. After a couple of minutes, you can still feel the tension radiating from him.
“I’m okay, Topper,” you tell him to ease his nerves.
“I know, I can’t just help but review the course of events in my head. What if he didn’t hesitate? What if his hand slipped? What if-“
“Enough!” You fly up to prop yourself up on your elbow. You stare down at the worried boy with sympathy. "You’re okay! I’m okay! What’s done is done and all we can do is be safe from now on. We’re safe!” You reach up and comb your fingers through the side of his hair. “Okay? It’s just you and me here.”
Impulsively, Topper extends his neck and slams his lips to yours. You sit stunned as the kiss rides out its course. You and Topper go months without anything intimate and within two days, he's kissed you twice, breaking every ruled you two have made. When you don't react, Topper breaks from you with a startled expression, as if he wasn't comprehending his actions.
“Y/N, I'm sorry! I-“
Before Topper can finish his sentence, you press your lips to his hungrily. You're not sure why, but you need him. Topper is your kryptonite, the bittersweet reality in your life. Forgetting his regret, Topper immediately sits up, resting against his headboard. You take the opportunity to straddle his torso and he keeps you steady with his hands on your hips. It's been ages since you've made out, but it's like riding a bike for you two. You know what each other likes and what gets the other going.
"I've missed you so much," Topper whispers against your jawline as he moves down to leave marks on your neck. He aggressively attacks your sensitive skin where evidence of JJ remains. Deep down in the back of your mind, you know Topper is parking his territory for JJ to see later. Your skin has become a battleground for the two. "I've missed this."
"Me too," you pant, silently wondering if you truly mean it in the same sense as him.
Though you chose to kiss Topper back and want to, you can’t understand why JJ’s face enters your mind the moment you do. As you deepen the kiss with Topper, you chase the sensation he’s giving you. You're addicted to the way he makes you feel, it's familiar and reminds you of a time when you were carefree. Yet, your thoughts remain fixated on JJ. You want Topper, but all you can think about is JJ.
Zack Sabre Jr. x Reader
content warning: some fluff left over from the holiday season
summary: it had been over for months - you weren't about to let zack walk right back into your life.
The party was loud and you were alone.
Friends came up to talk to you, to exchange gifts, to regale you with stories of their trips to far away places during the holidays. You spoke to everyone. You spoke to anyone.
But you wouldn’t speak to him.
Him.
The man standing in the corner by the punch bowl, a beautiful girl hanging off his arm. The man wearing a suit the shade of the night you walked away from his outstretched hand. The man who kept glancing at you from his safe distance, looking more interested in your misery than whatever his date had to say.
His eyes scanned your face as he nodded to something she whispered in his ear.
It had been hours of this now.
Part of you considered simply walking up to him and holding out your hand. Part of you considered just straight up leaving the party, going home and crying into your pillow until the sun rose.
It was over. It had to be over.
But there was something about how the Christmas lights reflected in his brown eyes. How they cut bright shapes into his golden, blonde hair.
In his hands sat a plate and on the plate sat appetizers you had made. He didn’t know it was your handiwork but it hadn’t escaped him that every dish was one of his favorites. It hadn’t escaped him that every dish was vegan, exactly the way he liked it.
He watched you as a mutual friend walked up to you, taking your hand in theirs and pressing a kiss to your cheek. The jealousy welled up in his chest as you pulled the friend into a tight hug. There was a warmth shared between you and the friend that he had only been able to dream of, the last few months.
“Zack?” The girl in front of him waved her hand, trying to regain his attention.
He snapped his eyes down to her only to be drawn away again by the sight of you walking away with your friend, heading towards the coats.
“Yeah, love?” He murmured, trailing off as he watched you.
“Are you even listening to me?”
“Yeah, course.” He nodded.
And so she continued talking. But Zack didn’t hear a word from her mouth.
“Hold that for me for a second, would you?” He asked as he handed off his plate to the girl before opting to walk away.
The plate nearly fell out of her hands onto the floor but Zack never saw.
He was on the trail of something he needed desperately - more than water, more than food. He was on the trail of closure for a year of misery.
So he followed you. And he wove down the hall, past party guests, to the bedroom where everyone had been instructed to leave their jackets. He watched your dress disappear behind the door just before he burst through himself.
You turned quickly, not expecting the sudden intrusion. But there he stood, at least a full foot taller than you, his eyes wide and somewhat frantic. His cologne was the same cologne he had worn the last night you saw him. When it wafted towards you it made your heart tremble.
“I need to talk to you.” He exhaled.
You didn’t know what to say but you must’ve nodded because your friend said a quick goodbye leaving you both alone.
“Why?” You managed.
“Why?” He asked, his face wrapped in confusion.
“Why do you need to talk to me?”
“I think it’s only fair after this much time apart.”
You had no right to be so standoffish. You were the one who had left him. You were the one who had stepped away from his body. It was your fault that the two of you had become strangers.
But it also wasn’t.
He had been the one that had given you the ultimatum in the first place.
Stay together and move with him to Japan. Or break up. He “couldn’t tolerate the separation” he had explained. He told you that he was no good at distance and that the hours long Facetime calls were not enough for him. And at first you were flattered, because; who doesn’t want to be wanted in such a way? But then you realized there was no way you were going to uproot your life for a man. You had a job and friends and family.
Zack was not enough to sway you to leave them all behind.
So you walked away from the relationship. You walked away from him.
And in so many ways you had regretted leaving him. You missed waking up beside him when he was home. You missed watching him cook over Skype and sharing your meals via a video call. You missed hearing his voice talk you to sleep at night when he couldn’t hold you.
But you refused to change your mind.
Zack shut the door, and turned back to you. As if no time had passed he took your hand and walked you to the foot of the bed. You sat slowly and he sat beside you.
“What do you want to talk about?” You asked.
“How’ve you been?”
“Zack, I don’t -”
“Just tell me how you’ve been.”
“I’ve been fine.” You sighed. “And you?”
“I’m okay.”
“What do you want then? Your date’s probably getting lonely out there.”
“That’s not my date.”
“The girl you were talking to?”
He dropped his chin into his hand and stared at the ground.
“She’s just some girl that I met here. One of my mate’s friends, I think.”
“That’s not the point anyways -”
“It is though, sort of. Isn’t it?” He turned to you with that same old glint in his eye that you had loved so dearly.
“It is?”
“I don’t want you thinking that I came here with a date.”
“You’re within your rights to.” You muttered.
“I haven’t even thought about anyone else since you left me.”
The room was quiet, the air thick with tension. You thought about how long this last year had felt. You thought about how long you had missed him and all the nights you spent on the same mattress in the same apartment hoping and praying he’d walk through the door.
But he never did.
“I don’t know what to say to that.” You finally managed.
“Can we talk about it?”
“I think it’s too late for that.” You spoke softly as you reached for your coat.
His hand met your arm. He didn’t hold you back but his touch weighed you down like a lead balloon. You bit your lip, willing the sadness you had known for so long to go away.
“Please.”
His voice was desperate, a pleading expression washing over his face.
“Fine.” You sighed, sitting on the end of the bed so Zack stood just ahead of you.
He seemed almost shocked that you had agreed. His eyes darted around the room for a surefire strategy to win you back, coming up empty as they settled back on you.
“Where should I start?” He asked.
“How’s Japan?”
You didn’t actually want to know. He knew you didn’t actually want to know. The smug smile on your face was just meant to rub salt in the wound. Bitterness crept into the back of your throat like poison.
“It doesn’t matter.”
“It does though, Zack. It really does. And do you know why?” The words began flying out of your mouth as a year of anger finally boiled to the surface. “It matters because it’s the choice you made.”
“I had to go! That wasn’t up for debate!”
“You didn’t have to go alone!” You shouted, finally releasing the pressure that was welling up in your chest.
Zack’s face looked as though you had slapped him into the new year. Hot tears began fighting to break free from the corner of your eyes. You didn’t want them ruining your make up but you only had so much control over yourself. You pulled in a shuddering breath and tried to mitigate every emotion that had barbed itself into your mind but you found yourself beginning to drown.
“You chose to be alone out there. You chose that for yourself.” You continued.
“You made the decision at the end of the day.” He bit back.
“I wouldn’t have had to if you hadn’t given me an ultimatum.” You warbled. Errant tears started slipping down your face but you palmed them away quickly. “You wouldn’t have given me an ultimatum if you wanted me to stick around.”
He was silent. You knew he was trying to find a new way to rid himself of blame, to feel better about the situation. This had been a fight you had both been training for. You had arsenals built for the occasion.
“I would’ve stayed,” You continued. “I wanted to stay.”
“I never wanted you to leave.” He murmured so quietly you almost missed it.
He stared at his hands, flexing and curling his fingers intermittently. He withdrew the moment the words left his mouth. He turned away, a hand reaching for his neck as he angsted over his latest confession.
You couldn’t help yourself but shoot your eyes to the floor. You wanted to feel happiness in the light of his apparent regrets but a year of pain wasn’t going to be reversed by one sentence.
When he turned back to you, you saw a blush burning hot on his cheeks, as though he had just confessed to actually liking you. You felt your defenses begin to fall as he walked closer to you.
“You did this to yourself.” You muttered, shaking your head. You had to steel yourself against the fondness you’d always have in your heart for his presence.
“Can I undo it?”
“Do you have a time machine?”
He laughed softly and you winced. You refused to hear it.
“I’m serious.” He insisted.
“So am I.”
He opened his mouth but shut it with a resigned nod. Slowly, he sat beside you, his hands folded in his lap.
You had missed the way the bed dipped when he came to sleep beside you. You had missed the warmth that always radiated off of him, as though he were a human furnace. You had missed the cologne he wore to every party without fail.
You remembered how you could almost drink it in when you put your head on his shoulder. It was your comfort, your reminder that you’d go home soon.
You wanted to go home so badly.
So you leaned your head on his shoulder to taste it just one last time. His hand met your arm, wrapping around your body. You felt sadness in the physical contact. You felt loss.
“Gonna be weird if this is over.” He spoke against the crown of your head.
“It’s been over.” You sighed.
“Yeah but this is, like, really, really over.”
“It’s not like we’ll never see each other again.”
Zack shrugged. “Yeah, but what if I have to see you with another person.”
“I had to see you with another girl.”
“If I had seen you with someone else I don’t know if I’d be able to be normal about it.”
Carefully, your fingers found his. He didn’t fight it. The ten digits wove together, his warmth comforting your cold. You wanted to stay in this moment, contextless, for the rest of your life.
“You would like Japan, you know?” He attempted a chipper tone but it came out as a small echo of former happiness.
“I never wanted to go there. I’ve told you that.”
“Could’ve shown you in a video call.”
“Zack, it’s not my fault that we -“
“I’m not saying it is.” He reassured you. “It was my fault. You’re right.”
You sat up straight, confused by the certainty in his voice. He meant it. There was no other shoe waiting to drop. His thumb ran small circles over your hand as if to sign his name to the confession.
“I wish I hadn’t made you choose. You’re the only person I’ve wanted to talk to this past year.”
“Did you ever think to call me?”
Zack laughed quietly to himself. “I blamed you for this up until a few minutes ago.”
“I can’t believe you. You make your own hells. You know that, right.”
He nodded.
“There were so many pictures that I took that I wanted to send you.” He sighed.
“Guess you didn’t hate me enough, then.”
“You’re not easy to completely hate.”
He smiled and you felt yourself smile back. You hated how easily he worked through every wall you had put up. The more he worked the more you loved him, the more you loved him the more you missed him. And right now you found yourself missing him like you would miss air in your lungs.
“It’s really over, huh?” He exhaled, shaking his head morosely.
“I think so.” You murmured in response.
“I should probably head out. Not sure I’m in the mood for a party after all this.”
He stood, pulling his hand from yours painfully slowly. Carefully, he found his jacket in the pile of outerwear that had been tossed haphazardly by the pillows and pulled it on over his blazer. You watched him, unable to figure out what to say to make him stick around if only a moment longer.
As he walked to the door you felt your heart getting torn from your chest once more, a quivering, quaking sadness renewing within you. You bit your lip, trying to stymie the tears that were rapidly approaching.
“Zack?” You called.
He quickly turned back to you, hand pulling away from the doorknob.
“Yeah, darling?”
“Now that it’s over maybe… maybe we could, like, start again?”
He studied your face before raising a confused eyebrow.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, like, one door closes another one opens, right?”
“Like, you want to try to be friends?” He asked.
You pondered the question for a moment before lowering your head slightly, casting your eyes to the floor. You knew what you were about to say wouldn’t make any sense but you had watched this relationship die once you didn’t want to experience it again.
“Like, would you want to maybe go out to dinner?”
“On a date?” His voice was almost incredulous but a smile betrayed his tone. “After all this?”
You nodded, still avoiding eye contact.
“I know you’re going back to Japan after the holidays so it won’t mean much but -“
“I’d love to.” He interrupted, surprising you. “I’d like to do that a lot, actually.”
“Seriously?”
“You’ve just asked me out and now you’re surprised I’ve said yes?” He laughed.
“Well you’re only in town for so long I didn’t know if you’d think it was pointless or a waste of time.”
Zack walked close to you, placing a finger under your chin and lifting your gaze up to his. The same, annoying, cocky grin had returned to his face and you had forgotten just how much you missed it.
“Did I make it too easy?” He smiled.
You nodded a tiny nod, pursing your lips to hide the giddiness within.
“Fine, I’ll make it a little more difficult for you then -“
“That’s not what I meant!” You exclaimed, pushing his hand away.
“I’m only going to agree to going out if you can promise me one thing.”
With a roll of your eyes, you stared him down. He looked elated and it took all of your willpower not to pull him to the bed and wrap him up in your arms.
“What’s that?” You asked, a smirk pushing at the corners of your lips.
“If the date goes well, we don’t end things just because I’ve gone back to Japan.”
You wanted to slap him straight out of the room but all you could manage was an exaggerated scoff. But he didn’t laugh and he didn’t smile at you. He wasn’t asking for a favor from you. He was asking for your forgiveness in the only way he knew how to.
So you reeled yourself back in and nodded.
“If the date goes well we won’t end things when you fly back to Japan.” You agreed.
“Beautiful.” He murmured, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
He stood once more and walked to the pile of coats, expertly fishing yours out, leaving you to wonder how he knew what you had come in wearing. He handed it to you and, without questioning, you allowed him to pull the sleeves up and over your arms.
“What are we doing?” You asked.
“I figured you were on your way out when you came in here. Least I can do is walk you to your car.”
“Are you leaving too?”
“What’s the point of being here if you’re not?” He smiled.
His hands fell to your shoulders and ran down your arms, sending a shiver up your spine.
He walked you out of the party and to your car. He opened your door and you slid into the driver's seat, turning the key in the ignition and blasting the heat the moment you were facing forwards. Zack leaned against the top of your door, the tip of his nose turning red in the cold.
“Maybe you could call me?” He offered. “We could set up a time and a place for that date?”
“Sure.” You nodded, finding it hard not to be entranced by the way the clouds of his breath laced through the air.
“I’ll see you soon, love.”
“I’ll see you soon, Zack.”
With that he moved to shut your door. But, before he could, he stopped himself and turned to you.
“Hey, by the way?” He started.
“Yeah?”
“Thanks for always being the one to make the appetizers. It’s nice always being able to eat something at these parties.”
You smiled.
“Wouldn’t want you to starve.” You chirped.
With that he closed your door and laughed silently to himself. You drove home and waited all of five minutes before texting him.
You thought about going to dinner with him and what you might wear. You gathered recipes to show him and to give him to bring back to Japan. You tried to make a mental list of things to tell him about that he had missed during the last year.
But none of it mattered.
Because the moment he texted back saying “I missed you so much” you forgot about everything else around you.
It was all over. So it began.
An Evening Off
Summary: Both Y/n and Harry have a rare night off. Y/n has relaxing plans for how they should spend it.
Notes: Howdy! This is probably the last fic I’m going to post for the next two weeks; I have finals for college next week, and I have a fuck ton of work this week because professors love to give students everything at once 🙃 Anyway, I came up with the very fluffy concept because I crave emotional intimacy, so I hope you like it!!!!
Warnings: cursing ig. otherwise just a lot of fluff and taking a bath together 🥰
WC: 1.9k
Tumblr media
Y/n was feeling lonely.
Her boring ass office job didn’t produce too many friends for her. While the people she worked with weren’t the absolute worst, they were just, well, bland. Their lives were cookie-cutter. The closest thing any of them had experienced to a true adventure was a trip to IKEA. Her two best friends, Maria and José, were across the country, since she had moved from one coast to another to live with her boyfriend. Sure, she could FaceTime them, but it just wasn’t the same. And after the call, she knew she’d just be more lonely than before.
Harry wasn’t an option either. He was working, far too hard for her liking. She understood, of course; it was album crunch time. He had to make all of the last minute decisions: finalizing the tracklist, photoshoots, and touch-ups on the chosen tracks in the studio. But she missed him. The only times she saw him anymore was right before bed, when he would stumble into the room sleepily and kiss her forehead before going right to sleep. So yeah, she was a bit lonely. And being alone on her day off wasn’t exactly the plans she wanted to have.
Luckily, the universe decided to answer her pleas. At around 1:00, after she had finished up a late shower, her phone buzzed with a text from her beloved.
H: Hi, baby! The only thing we have left on the agenda today is touching up a couple of the album tracks, so I should be home a bit earlier :D If you’d like, I can pick up some dinner on the way home.
She couldn’t help the huge grin that spread across her face. For the first time in ages, the two of them could finally have some time together! Maybe she could do something nice for him! He had been working so hard lately, he deserved it. And honestly, she did, too. An idea popped into her head, and she threw open the bathroom closet, taking a look through her bath supplies. She grinned triumphantly as she pulled out a citrus bath bomb, knowing that Harry enjoyed the calming scent of orange and lemon. A nice bath would not only help Harry destress, but it would also be the perfect cure to the loneliness that was settling in her heart. She quickly texted Harry a reply as she set the bath bomb aside.
Y/n: Sorry about the wait, babe, was just taking a shower. Forgot to this morning lol
He answered pretty much right away, making her smile.
H: It’s okay, baby! No need for apologies :)
Y/n: Okay! I’m excited to actually get to spend some time with you! I could really go for curry, if you’re up for Indian takeout.
H: Curry sounds good to me! I’ll probably be home between 6 or 7! I have to go now, but I can’t wait to see you :) I love you so much!!!!
Y/n: Can’t wait to see you, either, Har!!! I love you, too 💕💕
“Baby, ‘m home!”
Y/n looked at the clock. It was 7:30, a bit later than what Harry had said through text, but still much earlier than usual. She leapt up from the couch and sprinted to the front door, tackling Harry in a hug. He laughed loudly and wound his free arm around her waist, not fully able to hug her back because of the takeout bag in his arms.
“Let me put the food down so I can give y’ a proper hug.”
She let go with a small pout on her face, which Harry promptly kissed off while setting the bag down. He then wrapped her in a tight, two-armed embrace. She melted at the contact, resting her head on his chest and hugging him back just as tightly. He leaned down and kissed the top of her head, then rested his head on top of hers.
“Miss you, Har,” she said, her speech slightly muffled from talking into his t-shirt.
She could feel him frown against her hair, “I miss y’ too, Y/n. The album should be done by the end of the month, and then ‘m all yours until tour starts.”
“Good. I was gonna break into the studio and steal you back myself if you weren’t done soon.”
He chuckled, “I don’ think Jeff would like that very much.”
“Fuck Jeff! I need you back here,” she scoffed.
“I certainly hope y’ don’ want t’ fuck Jeff.”
She rolled her eyes, “You’re annoying.”
He grinned cheekily, “But yet y’ still here.”
“Lord only knows why,” Y/n grumbled, though there was a smile on her face.
They pulled away reluctantly, both realizing how hungry they were. The two chowed down on chicken curry and naan while chatting about their day. Y/n spent most of her day off watching The Great British Bake-Off and snuggling with Daiquiri, their black lab. Harry had been putting the finishing touches on three of the album songs (“I can’ wait to play them f’ y’, baby”), and ranted about the traffic coming home (“I would’ve gotten home 45 minutes earlier, but the freeway was ridiculously clogged up!”). It was domestic in a way that Y/n never thought she would have, and she loved every second of it.
When everything from dinner was cleaned up, Y/n figured now was as good a time as any to reveal her plans for the rest of their evening.
“Hey, Har,” she paused, then continued when she heard his hum of acknowledgment, “would you want to take a bath with me?”
He raised an eyebrow, “Is this a ploy t’ get me naked?”
“No,” Y/n said bashfully, “I just thought it would be nice to take a bath together. I found a citrus bath bomb at the back of the closet, and I thought it would be relaxing for us.”
Harry’s eyes softened and he smiled gently at her, “That sounds perfect, love. Y’ too sweet.”
The two made their way to the bathroom, hand in hand. Y/n plucked the bath bomb from the closet and laid it in the tub, turning on the warm water. The water became a pastel shade of yellow, reflecting the lemony scent of the bath bomb. As she was checking the temperature, a pair of tattooed arms wrapped around her waist, and a kiss was pressed to her cheek. The heat radiating off of his body led her to believe that Harry had already rid himself of his clothes. When she turned around, her suspicions were confirmed.
“You work fast,” she commented, making a humming sound when the temperature was to her satisfaction.
“A bit,” he confirmed, leaning over to turn off the nozzle “just wanna take a bath with y’, love. Speaking of, let’s get those pesky clothes off of y’, shall we?”
Y/n nodded and Harry reached forward, almost reverently lifting her (his) sweatshirt over her head. She shimmied out of her leggings and removed her undergarments. She stepped into the bath first, gesturing for him to follow. He obeyed, and sat between her legs, resting his head on her shoulder. The two sat in silence for a while, basking in each other’s company. Y/n couldn’t remember a time where she had felt this at peace. But she also knew that Harry had forgotten to shower that morning since he was nearly late to the studio, so she reached over and grabbed some soap and a washcloth. She looked down at him and giggled softly when she realized he was almost asleep
“Wake up, baby,” she crooned, “let me wash you.”
“‘M awake,” he muttered, “promise.”
“Sure you are, that’s why your eyes are closed,” Y/n teased.
He only hummed in response, making her giggle again. She kissed his forehead and began washing him gently. The soft circles she was rubbing into his skin with the washcloth were soothing, and a sleepy smile made its way onto his face.
“‘Y always take such good care of me. Dunno how I got s’ lucky.”
Y/n felt her face grow warm as she reached for the shampoo, “I think I’m the lucky one. You always take care of me, too.”
She began rubbing the shampoo into his silky locks. Breathy gasps fell from his lips as she tugged lightly as his hair, working the shampoo into his curls.
“Feels s’ good,” he murmured.
“Glad you’re feeling good, Har,” Y/n replied in a hushed tone.
She rinsed his hair and repeated the process with the conditioner. By the time she had finished, Harry had fully fallen asleep on her shoulder. She cooed softly at how adorable he looked. He was like an angel; his long lashes were speckled with little water drops, his wet hair stuck to his forehead in an oddly endearing way, and a small smile was spread across his lips. He looked so relaxed in a way that Y/n hadn’t seen in a while. The bath helped her feel more at ease too; the monotonous motions of washing Harry made the stress from her job melt away, and the loneliness that had plagued her earlier in the day was washed away by the warm water. But she knew she had to wake Harry. She wasn’t quite strong enough to carry all six feet of him back to their bedroom.
Y/n gently jostled his shoulder and whispered, “Harry. Need you to wake up, baby.”
He groaned softly, making her giggle softly once more. His eyes slowly blinked open to reveal his jade irises, and he stumbled his way out of the tub, making her laugh a little harder as she followed. Y/n got out two towels and dried them both off, knowing that Harry was much too tired to do it on his own. She took his hand and walked toward their bedroom.
When they reached the bedroom, Y/n guided Harry to sit on the bed while she picked out sweats for both of them to wear to sleep (she knew that Harry had a particular fondness for when she wore his clothes to bed, so she got out his clothes for both of them). Harry pliantly moved his limbs as she clothed him, and watched her with moony eyes as she pulled on her own sleepwear.
“Look s’ pretty in m’ clothes, love,” he complimented, relishing in the shy smile that appeared on her face.
“Thank you, Har. Let’s get you to bed, okay?” she replied.
Y/n turned off the light and joined Harry on the bed. He was already lying on his side, so she wound her arms around his waist, resting her head between his shoulder blades. Usually, he was the big spoon, but with the whole mood they had set all night, it just felt right for her to be the one cuddling him. Y/n barely heard Harry mumble a “g’night. Love you,” before his breathing evened out. She smiled and closed her eyes, reflecting on the day. Just spending one evening with her boyfriend made her feel right as rain, and the loneliness that had once threatened to overtake her was totally gone. Though she had been taking care of him that night, he was also taking care of her. And sure, they were both going back to work tomorrow, but in two weeks, Harry would be done with the album and would be all hers. When sleep finally overtook her, all she had were the most pleasant of dreams.
