Lando and his teammate Oscar sit across from each other, gathered around a table. it’s media day and they’re preparing to record the lie detector challenge for McLaren's youtube channel.

"are you two ready?" asks one of the crew members in charge of the camera and lighting equipment. Lando replies lightly, "as ready as we can be!" his remark makes Oscar chuckle and then nod. as soon as the cameraman says "action," however, Lando's mind begins to wander while Oscar explains the purpose of the video to the viewers.

his thoughts wander to you. even though he only saw you a few hours ago, he can't help but miss you. he may be embarrassed, but how can he not long for someone as amazing and beautiful as you? someone as unreachable as you.

the saddest part is that you don’t even know. you have no idea how incredible you are in Lando's eyes. without you knowing it, he's had a crush on you ever since you came into the paddock a year ago accompanied by your brother and his teammate Oscar Piastri. Lando developed these feelings for you around this time last year, but has kept them a secret from everyone ever since. It's ridiculous, it really is.

he knows that he can’t have you. you are a successful model who attracts the attention of countless men and women, and simply out of his league. not only that, but you’re his teammate's brother. but every time you talk to him and look at him, the glimmer of hope in him grows a little more, no matter how irrational it seems.

little do you know you warm Lando's heart by attending the races every two weeks to support your brother and passionately cheer for McLaren. even if your support isn’t exclusively for him, but for your brother Oscar, it still makes Lando feel great knowing that you’re at least cheering for the team he’s driving for.

Lando sighs softly, longing for more opportunities to talk with you. he wants to get to know you even better, to learn personal details hidden from the prying eyes of the media. he longs to be special to you, just as you are special to him.

"well someone's already planning how to trick and deceive the lie detector, aren't they?" Oscar's playful remark interrupts Lando's train of thought, his expression brimming with amusement. only now does Lando realize that he has been staring at the lie detector the entire time. his cheeks flush with embarrassment as he quickly looks away. has he been so obvious?

"what, I have no idea what you're talking about!" Lando exclaims dramatically, gasping in mock astonishment. he plays along with Oscar's teasing, trying to distract himself from the fact that he has been caught in his daydreams of you.

"sure," Oscar says, drawing out the word with a grin on his lips. "you do know how this works, though?" he asks, pointing to the toy in front of them, to which Lando silently shakes his head, "alright, you basically just have to put your hand on the metal part of the lie detector and then answer the questions I ask you truthfully. you'll get a shock if you lie, not if you don't, understand?"

Lando nods and tried to focus his attention on Oscar's explanation, which seems impossible as his mind automatically wants to wander back to you. this is supposed to be a fun and light-hearted video for the fans just before the race week, but Lando's heart racing at the mere thought of you reminds him how hard he has fallen for you.

Oscar decides to go first with the lie detector challenge, providing honest and sometimes not so honest answers, which leads to him being shocked and both of them bursting into laughter. a few minutes later, Oscar answers the final question written on the card in Lando’s hand. afterwards, Lando takes a deep breath. now it’s his turn to do the challenge.

he places his hand on the metal surface of the toy and feels a slight jolt of nervousness. he reminds himself that this is all just a game and he has nothing to lose. well, except his pride…

Oscar starts the first round of questions and everything goes smoothly. Lando focuses on giving honest answers and suppresses his distracting thoughts of you as best he can. but as the questions continue, Lando's thoughts occasionally drift back to you and the memories you both share.

like the first time you spoke to him, your bright smile, your beautiful eyes, and your genuine interest in him as a person that made him blush. he remembers the moments when your eyes always meet for a split second after a race, and the electric connection he feels, even if it's fleeting and one-sided. some might call these memories insignificant, but they're the ones that mean the most to him. because they're all he has.

but with the good memories come the not-so-good ones. like the numerous occasions when he failed to start a conversation or laugh with you. the occasions when he embarrassed himself and sometimes was even too nervous to speak in your presence without stuttering. the fear of rejection and his own self-doubt hold him back all the time, leaving him with regrets and what-if scenarios.

the lie detector test progresses, and Lando's thoughts return to the present when he notices Oscar's mischievous grin. he glances at the card in Oscar's hand, which has the rest of the questions on it.

"alright, mate," Oscar says, his voice filled with mock seriousness. "do you have a secret crush on someone?"

Lando's eyes widen and his heart skips a beat, surprised by the unexpected question.

“umm,” he starts, contemplating his response with a pounding heart. a thousand thoughts race through his mind. should he lie or tell the truth?

"no..." he finally lies and nervously looks at the crew to his right for a second, while an embarrassed smile threatens to form on his face. Oscar smirks and raises an eyebrow, not once breaking eye contact with his teammate. Lando immediately notices the amused twinkle in his eyes, clearly aware of his embarrassment.

the room falls silent and everyone waits curiously for the result. time suddenly seems to slip by in slow motion. then, without warning, an electric shock goes through Lando’s hand, sending a shockwave up his arm. his eyes widen and a quiet yelp escapes his lips as he flinches from the unexpected sensation. he quickly removes his hand from the toy and groans. he can hear Oscar laughing, obviously amused by the sight of his head lying on the table in pain.

"well, well, well," Oscar exclaims, a mischievous grin tucking at his lips and amusement still dancing in his eyes, "care to tell us who this mysterious person is?" Lando laughs, “no thanks, I’d rather not!”

"oh, come on. we all want to know who you fell in love with!" Oscar's teasing tone makes Lando roll his eyes playfully as he sits up in his chair. "she’s not even my girlfriend!" he exclaims. "not yet," Oscar wiggles his eyebrows and Lando groans in fake annoyance.

“i'm not going to tell you who she is.” Lando declares, and Oscar lets out a fake, sad ‘aww’, “i wouldn't even say i’m in love, you know.. i don’t know her well enough to call it love.” Oscar nods understandingly.

“but you like her, don’t you?”

Lando smiles at that, thinking of your contagious laugh and amazing personality. “yes, i really, really like her.”

Oscar's gaze softens, a knowing glint in his eyes and a genuine smile on his face as he observes Lando. he knows what a person in love looks like, and Lando is definitely head over heels in love.

“then you should think about taking a chance,” he says with a gentle smile. “life is too short to hide such strong emotions. who knows? maybe this mysterious person feels the same way.” he winks and Lando smiles and looks down at his hands. you feeling the same way about him? that’s too good to be true.

“i don’t think so,” he replies with a shrug, “but we’ll see.”

little does he know that fate has its own plans, and that the path of their intertwined stories is slowly unfolding. the love Lando carries in his heart will soon find its way to the one person who unknowingly captured it…

I saw someone else ask about the "Twin" part of the Twin Runes design, comparing it to the Delta Rune design. My HC for the in-universe design is two delta runes side by side (like twins lol) or just ᛏᚹᛁᚾ.

For my ask part of this ask post: which member of the fun gang do you think would accidentally make a dark world? My vote is Berdly. (He'd stab his desk with a pencil after losing a round of league of legends)

Like I said, the Runes part isn't really meant to be taken literally. There are no literal Twin Runes. The whole name is more of a stand in for Undertale and Deltarune as parallel worlds. Also since this connection is more of a recent event there isn't like a legend about it, like with the Legend of Delta Rune. But if you so like you can headcanon the two Delta Runes side by side as a depiction of this crossover. Or come up with a whole new one. Idk... Graphic design isn't my strong suit-

As for your other question. Yep, my money is on Berdly too. Just look at him. He knows it.

But! Hi hello welcome to Oh lord this family needs therapy and counselling . ! Honestly I have been going into everything with the idea of her being a single mom w/ them! It;s very much a situation of like.... Parent that works away from home constantly, so the relationship is just unfortunately naturally more strained kinda thing .

With all this i go with like.... The idea that they were very much born in Hoenn and lived there with Lucy until Carmine was approximately 9 or so, and Kieran was 7 [I do like to imagine they're 16 and 14 respectively as of the dlcs]. Work being so remote and stuff plus worrying about their education and all just led to living with their grandparents in Kitakami being the best decision for their development as yknow, People. I like to imagine Lucy visits periodically throughout the year and such to check in :> just takes a bit of coordinating. Also shes absolutely the reason they're able to go to blueberry for highschool via both making sure they Can go there financially and putting a word in to a battle focused school of them being kids of a facility head :p even if realistically Lucy isnt the strongest head by any means lol . it's kinda like if an E4 member put a good word in situation. And we can see with Lacey and Drayton both going there... gestures. I wouldnt be surprised if more children of different league figures go to it or schools LIKE it. But thats besides the point Lucy absolutely like, struggles with her emotions and such. Even from the small bits of dialogue we have from her? Maybe its just my autistic ass reading too much into it LMAO but . gestures .

sorry just more quick looking too much into dialogue but. cmon. CMON. ...She's . definitely influenced how carmine and kieran act at least somewhat .

Carmine might be the easiest to point a finger to as being like her mom but i genuinely think that it;s actually Kieran who ended up the most Like her, yknow it;s incredibly obvious to point a finger at Kieran during indigo disk and how he talks as being her fault a little bit :p anyways thats just me vaguely mumbling abt that. AS FOR. DYNAMICS. Kieran isnt as close to his mom as Carmine is just due to everything with living with their grandparents. Theres also absolutely like.... Very much a gap because he stopped seeing her as much when he was younger, while Carmine was only a year off of being like. Legally start being a pokemon trainer age. And its just Awkward, relation wise, just because of how little she actually sees them through the years, especially when the discussion would slowly shift to more "How are your studies?" "How are you doing in school?" "How is your pokemon training going?" once they start going to blueberry. Which i don't think was ment to come off as uncaring for them and only focusing on training as it did from Lucy's end, but I dont really think she knew what else to ask and all, because she stopped being able to really pick up on their interests as much as they got older. Plus thats just kinda How she talks... With the importance on strength and luck n all that. Then with all this I imagine she like. Probably only called once maybe twice between the dlc plots n all? And once again with just mainly the training questions it was just a sour spot. I wouldn't doubt Kieran would also struggle with not wanting to be in a shadow/the nepo baby accusations /j that I fully think if Drayton knows about he'd tease him and Carmine about. So like. All that with the instilled importance of ones strength :sob: Lucy you were not helping the Kieran situation. Hell I don't really think she would of even known about anything going down between Kitakami to Blueberry with Kieran just because neither of them wanted to tell her at all? Because again just that Awkward connection between them, just the permanent fog on all communication that feels like someone said something wrong at all times and it got too awkward to finish. IDK I think im waffling on I don't know how to formulate my thoughts the best LMFAO BUT I THINK... DYNAMICS WOULD CHANGE POST-MOCHI MAYHEM ESP. Bc i KNOW she'd find out after carmine and kieran nearly fucking DIE in the underdepths and everything hits her in the back of her head at once that she needs to repair what she can w/ them because she almost lost them. Probably means taking an extended leave from working at the Pike so she doesn't have to worry about scheduling to see them in person for only a short period of time. Especially if the times line up for them having any extended break from school . It's never going to be perfect, far from it, with their dynamics and all but. gestures. Briar needs to sleep with one eye open for a bit at least. in short

AS FOR. DAHLIA im in turbo hell because I can not see? the siblings ending up like they did if she was also around? Shes such a force of positivity as a person im just. blinks a bit. Im in hell bc i adore the ship as my big rarepair ill die on a hill for but nobody expected the kitakami siblings especially not me so . i think if they ever do get together it'd be somewhere nearer to scarvio era which just. yeah. see image below

Are we with Bowen in some kind of dark academy? or is it just a normal university?

note; just a quick master post of all the miscellaneous bowen questions! there are some others that will be combined a little later on but i want to write those scenes into the storyline or as a longer extra!!

It's a normal university, though it's pretty high-brow. Think like yale or something, ivy league i think they're called? we're talking fully stocked cafeteria, free coffee bar, on site support and fully serviced apartment dorms on campus. as you know MC lives there and Bowen lives off campus at a small nearby house :)

ask; now I need to know who wanted to kill Bowen when he was a teenager. that weirdo is so f mysterious

Bowen was a delinquent when he was younger. he came from a rather rich family but his home life wasn't the best. nothing too serious just some despondent parents so he usually hung around with other teens just chilling at random shops.

one of his friends stole something from a store though and the owner turned out to be this really nasty local gang leader, think piercing accessory shop. they sent their cronies after the kids and the two groups fought. somehow Bowen's friends won (I mean which delinquent teen doesn't carry a pocket knife?) and injured some of the gang members.

now the two have beef :) which led to some of the younger gang members really hating bowen.

ask; The fact that I would purposely make Bowen eat carrots just to fuck with him. Like I don’t like uncooked carrots AT ALL but I would get a bag of them at lunch and feed them to him just to watch him suffer. I wouldn’t offer him any sort of attention but that so he wouldn’t have a choice

Bowen would do his best to suck it up, he's not allergic of course so it's not life or death... he just doesn't like them. If it made you happy he'd do almost anything, except leave you alone that is. He would 100% tough his way through the bag and don't worry about rewarding him, when you fall asleep he'll give himself a little treat :)

ask; Is Bowen a virgin? Actually that’s a silly question I think we all know he is. Has he had his first kiss though?

Bowen actually isn't a virgin! It's a bit backwards but ever since he fell in love with you he wanted to make sure he knew how to pleasure someone, so he decided to sleep around. don't worry though he made up for it all by going on month long chastity breaks... also he may have killed the ones he had sex with... but we won't talk about that. his first kiss was actually in his teen years at a party, he was a little drunk but if you ever asked him about it he would swear it meant nothing. nothing before you means anything to him after all!

ask; I have this feeling that Bowen HATES kids. Am I right? And what happened to that sweet desperate boy who cut his skin for the sadistic reader, by the way? Do you remember? I miss him.

confirmed, he does hate kids. he has no want for children at all actually. not only does he want your full attention on him only he just really doesn't want the kids to make the same mistakes he did :(

(concerning the boy, i honestly have no idea which one he is. many fics on my blog include sadistic readers and absolutely down bad men, I'm thinking maybe it's from my first kinktober?)

So… who’s King Barou™️ getting shipped with in the CO universe?

You: *asks a really straightforward question*

Me: lemme concoct backstories for fifteen other characters, then I'll get back to you

I wish I was joking 💀 but also I love getting these kind of questions, it lets me be indulgent about my AU! So thank you 💗

For context: I am writing a Kunigiri longfic set in 2033-34. This has involved making up fifteen years worth of post-canon life events for the principal cast. Barou doesn't feature prominently, but Kunigami recently revealed that he had a crush on the King back in their Blue Lock days.

Kunigami has moved on by now (like... reeeallly moved on), but Barou's still around, being his good ol' tsundy self. Does he have a partner? Well...

To figure this out, I had to remind myself who's actually on the national team with Barou and work through their dynamics. So...

Sixteen character backstories under the cut, eventually getting to your question.

The following characters have been named in Cassis Orange as being on the Japanese national team, in order of position/role:

Isagi (FW)

Rin (FW)

Shidou (FW)

Barou (FW)

Bachira (Wing)

Otoya (Wing)

Nagi (CAM)

Hiori (CAM)

Sae (CAM)

Karasu (CDF)

Sendou (CDF)

Aryu (FB)

Niko (CB)

Aiku (CB)

Gagamaru (GK)

Fukaku (GK)

This means that 2018 Blue Lock alumni occupy sixteen places in the squad (which should have 23-25 places). Probably two or three too many—ah well. I've alleged that some of the other squad members participated in the second Blue Lock program (which took place in... 2023, right around now lol). There's likely a few other older players from before Blue Lock's time, but it's really Isagi and friends' team.

Everybody knows team squads are synonymous with dating pools in Blue Lock. So, in considering who Barou might be shipped with, I had to think through where everyone was at in life, come January 2034, in my particular AU. Here's the lowdown:

Aiku (34) is currently working through his second divorce. He has a couple of kids. He remains good friends with his teammate Sendou (33), who plays for a Japanese club normally and does a lot of promotional work with sportwear companies.

Karasu (33), Otoya (32) and Shidou (33) represent something of a clique within the squad. The three play for French clubs, alongside Rin (31), who resents being mentioned in the same paragraph as them. Everyone but Otoya is outwardly single, as far as the media knows. Otoya dates influencers and idols.

Because Rin's home club is in France, he doesn't care to rent or purchase a place in Japan. Hiori (32), a long-time friend and Tokyo resident, agreed to let him stay at his apartment for the duration of the tournament. Hiori is single, and streams part-time. Players enjoy the juxtaposition between his gentle personality and the violent games he plays. He plays for the Kawasaki Breakers.

Sae (33) is based in the UK. He has won the Ballon D'Or twice. Although there's been speculation about the nature of his long-term friendship with Shidou, he refuses to speak about his personal life to the press.

Isagi (32) has lead his home club (Bastard Munchen) to victory in the Champions League twice, and he is widely regarded as one of the finest players of his generation. This World Cup will be the third he's contested, and his first as captain. He has stated publicly that third time's the charm. He is openly single, based in Munich. He started a charity to promote football in developing countries in 2027.

Bachira (32) has played for mostly Spanish clubs over the years. He's an advocate for youth football and does outreach work in schools both in Japan and Spain. He has auctioned his own artworks for charity. Not much is know about his personal life, despite his outgoing personality.

Nagi (32) was the face of Japanese football for the 2030 World Cup, in association with Reo (32). The two of them were inseparable following their days in Blue Lock, choosing to play at the same or neighbouring clubs throughout their careers. However, due to his father's untimely death, Reo stepped down from football two years previously. Since then, Nagi has been media shy. Despite his relative youth, there are rumours circulating that he intends to retire soon.

Niko (31) is a formidable centre-back who (with Aiku) forms the iron defence of the Japanese team. He's open about his neurodivergence and advocates for the inclusion of kids like himself in sports. It's understood he has a partner living in England, where he's based.

Fukaku (34) plays for a Japanese team, and has indicated his intention to retire after the 2034 World Cup tournament. As for Gagamaru (33), the man known as the world's best goalkeeper is notoriously reclusive. He is picky about what clubs he plays for, prioritising proximity to nature and the mountains over salary offers. As a result, he's mostly played for German clubs. Nothing is known about his relationship status.

FInally...

That leaves Barou (33) and Aryu (34). The duo play for Fiorentina. It's reported that the two share a villa together in the city's outskirts. Aryu has dabbled in modelling and fashion for many years, and his self-titled brand is steadily growing in renown.

Aryu speaks of Barou as his glamorous partner... but he calls next to everything glamorous, leaving the media stumped.

Barou, meanwhile, refuses to entertain fluff piece journalists and has neglected to comment on his relationship with the towering wingback. There is no record of any public affection between them both. However, the two are certainly very close. Last year, they both began sporting matching black rings.

Ask Game: Unpopular Opinions Edition

🧡: What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?

I've seen all kinds of theories about the multiverse and how Folie à Deux is going to connect back to the Flash and Justice League and whatever else, and I just... no? I get that the new Flash movie plays with the multiverse, but that doesn't mean everything connects back into the multiverse. They can just exist as separate movies.

💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?

Okay, this is going to take some explaining but... Joker x Harley Quinn. Yes it is canon, but I've never even seen that as a romance in canon - to me the Joker just serves as a tool for Harley to discover herself as a character, not to mention that it's flagrantly abusive and it's a huge part of her story to get away from him and build her own life. It makes my skin crawl in canon, and I'm honestly shocked that it's one of the biggest ships for Harley on AO3 (fewer than her with Ivy, but still several thousand works).

I guess it's less the question of why it's a ship, since it is canon, and more the question of why it's so popular.

💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?

Oh man, that requires me to pick a favorite character first... you might get a few different answers here

For Harley, people tend to forget that she has a freaking PhD. She's goofy and bubbly but she's smart, and I've read way too many fics where they just make her into the airhead blonde trope.

Actually, no, that's a consistent problem. This is true of a lot of fandoms I think, but people tend to dumb down the characters so much without even seeming to realize it, and it annoys me. And I don't even think that it's people struggling to know how to write a smart character, I think it's more that they don't recognize intelligence when it's not equated with academics. Like... Rick Flag is an incredibly competent fighter and gunman, and a strong leader - that takes intellect, but people miss it because of how goofy it is to wrangle the Squad. Abner strikes me as a very academic guy, the sort who probably dove into books as an escape and picked up a lot of random knowledge because of that, but people miss it because he's quiet and nihilistic and all that.

I just... we see the stupid members of the Suicide Squad. They die literally immediately. The others survive (for the most part) because they have enough intellect to know how to choose their battles, to know their own strengths, to react to the situation, etc.. But people see a bunch of goofy superheroes and assume they all have to be dumb as rocks unless their abilities are overtly skill-based (like Deadshot)

💙: Which character is not as hot as everyone else seems to think?

I know I'm piggybacking off your answer but... Peacemaker. He was set up as the hot guy character in the Suicide Squad, he even got his own spinoff in lieu of any of the other characters, but I just don't get the hype. He just annoys me.

💜: Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?

There is pitifully little love for my girl Cleo, I'm just saying. Also, Sasha Calle's Supergirl literally took my breath away when I first saw her, and she was the one redeeming quality of that terrible Flash movie imo

🤍: Which character is not as morally bad as everyone else seems to think?

Okay, this is going to seem contradictory because I still don't like him as a character, but objectively... Peacemaker. He's a dick, but the spinoff show does show him 1. ugly-crying with guilt over killing Flag and 2. blatantly disgusted at Adrian's casual lack of morality so... I just had a reverie of 15. This is kinda the transcription (The next part would mean that the League is obsessing with them and not letting them go because yandere is life).

It's even more funny when you know I don't know anything about this villain except the basic, so daydream this was like WTF?? And I found funny someone calling them Alice.

Summary: Kinda Bat!reader ends in another dimension (what if? the opposite of Batman ending in Bats dimension happened), lol ensues.

Rabbit hole (Earth 1T8)

As a typical midnight in Gotham city, you've found yourself running through a warehouse covered in colored smoke and eccentrically decorated in a Wonderland style while chasing the Mad Hatter. Said villain is running away from you with his last "Alice" while waving a device which look more suspicious than his usual repertoire (definitely not a headgear), as he states that once they reach the tea room, the black rabbit -remember, thats you, apparently- could not interrupt them. He still didn't understand that this was not a game of hide and seek and there was no safe place.

When you have practically reached them, the device is activated and opens a portal. You could hear an "oh come on" from your family in the distance. Before the two of them cross, you grabbed "Alice" abruptly, breaking the grip of Jervis, you retired her hair ribbon where you knew was the mind-control device and you went rolling on the portal in her place. Everything seems to have lasted an eternity, but haven't been more than thousandths of a second.

Your wheels and look around, putting up, immediately alert and ready to continue pursuing Tetch. Around you the lights are warmer, youare in a clean, spacious place full of people on a defensive stance. You still have time to catch a masked child hitting Hatter on the head with the hilt of a katana, causing the fall and breakage of the dimensional gates open in the process.

Oh well. You looked behind you. Your robins could save "Alice". But they were going to go crazy for not "saving" you. Ironies.

You put up with the desire to sigh and/or take hands to your nose and head, Damian, of course. The -you hope- entire Justice League from another world with some of their sidekicks stares at you intently. "Of all the places..."

You approached your Jervis with slow, deliberate steps. No one tried to stop, but with the vision of Superman and good, you look like bat, should have a good idea of what they might expect. If you do not underestimate, that was.

This league was very full for your taste as a foreigner, but also in your world some of its members had just joined now (S, GA, BC, WW, MMH, GL, F, B, A). You were not going to get out of there without answering a few questions.

They didn't look as their evil versions, not wearing black suits, the place didn't has an air repellant like "weare gods among humans, kneel lower being", neither they looked like zombies, vampires, werewolves, demons or something, and you knew you will be already condemned or eated if so, so you tilted blithely you to view the status of Jervis. The first step was to get back home know howyou went from first.

He had some blood on his head. And you thought your birdies were hard, tsk tsk tsk. You checked his pupils to double-check and wake him up.

-Hatter, do you know where you are? - you captiously asked, as he had not been very consistent before crossing the portal, but it would do. But then he looked at you with wondering in his eyes.

-Alice! Finally we can start the party! - He smiled happily. If you had been in this less time, you would have checked that you still have the cowl on. With what was made that katana, Vibranium, Amazonium, Mithril?

Someone laughed behind you. Maybe Alice in Madness Return, but not even that. You noticed to your non-exactly-conterpart examine the pieces of the dimensional key.

-But I liked the previous tea room Hatter, and the mugs were nicer. Was the March Hare who gave you the key to this place?? - you decided to go along with it, you'll knock him unconscious later and soon you willreturn to be the black rabbit before you know it.

-Oh no, that was Lex, he said that the black rabbit wouldn't bother us here. That damn rat never let us have our party in peace, Alice! -

Jervis continued to babble, but you stopped listening, wondering what Luthor's sudden need to get rid of you was about. And why Clark hadn't been more attentive to HIS villain. It would be best if you returned to Gotham as soon as possible.

You got up, leaving unconscious again Tetch along the way. You looked to Batman, apparently paying attention for first time to the heroes from this world. - I suppose you could not make a fix, no? - you pointed the scattered pieces, (thanks Damian), of the gift of Lex. Thanks Lex and Clark.

This sentence is unforgivably long HOWEVER it is so unforgivably long that I can’t help but love it, and it establishes the setting and tone quite well, and tells you exactly the kind of person that Mrs. Rachel Lynde is.

RAGHHHH since I’ve seen there is a young justice community who share their oc’s I wanna share mine

Catherine was born on the 16th of April 1996, not under the most ehem, happy circumstances though.

Catherine’s mother was the former hero Angel. (Real name Angelique) She was the former princess of the planet Hestilice, who’s inhabitants are Angel like humanoids. (Angelens)

Angelique was sent to earth by her mother queen eris when Darkseid invaded Hestilice and murdered its people, renaming Hestilice now as Apokolips.

Angelique joined the justice league when she was older, and found herself becoming good friends with Clark Kent, also known as superman. Clark had romantic feelings for Angelique, and Angelique did too. But she sadly was never able to share her feelings with him.

On April 16th 1996, Angelique and some members of the justice league were in a fight with the Android Amazo, created by Ivo. During the battle, Angelique’s water broke without her knowing, she continued to fight until she crumpled to her knees feeling exhausted.

Shortly after she gave birth to Catherine, who’s father was not known at the time. Angelique was already beaten and bruised and she had lost a large amount of blood. Sadly Angelique passed away from her various injuries. Her dying wish was her best friend, Clark Kent to take her daughter. And he did.

Not much is known about the Angelen’s and how they came to be. The powers of an Angelen are Super strength, Flight (from the large white wings that protrude from their back) the ability to shoot crystals from their hands, the crystals can vary in size and colour. The most common colours are white, yellow, pink and blue. An Angelen’s hair contains healing properties that can heal an individual. But if cut or damaged in any way, The individuals powers will no longer work even after growing back to it’s original length.

Catherine is approximately 5’8 and is half American half Angelen. She has dark green eyes, light blonde hair, broad shoulders , a beauty mark beneath her left eye , plump lips and defined cheekbones.

In width her wings are about 6 meteres long and two meteres high. Her wings are retractable and usually sit under flaps of skin on her back during the day.

During time of winter there is a “ripping season” where Catherine’s wings start to imbed themselves deeper into her back, which requires the wings to be immediately pulled out to avoid dangerous consequences

Catherine’s personality varies between either very bubbly and kind to quickly very serious and intellectual. On the MBTI test she is a ENTJ. (If that helps you get a better idea of what shes like)

Dez's answers are so funny because they're like "yeah I've never been to school but now I'm being trained as an astronaut for an upcoming mission as one does" so actually most of this stuff doesn't apply to him. If he did go to college it would probably be at the University of the Second Akkanswl where Mizzat works, and he might manage to get money somehow because of being an android. But this is a good set of questions for Sorian and Avis since they actually met in college and I've been worldbuilding that part of their lives solely because of OTP questions and asks lol.

14. What sort of university did they apply to/get accepted into? (IE: Ivy League, State, Community College, etc.) A combined magic university, the only on on Imni, where Sorian was in the magician track and Avis was in the dupe witch track.

15. If your oc was accepted/invited through a scholarship program, what was the nature of that scholarship? Avis had a long string of scholarships, including one from the local goverment in exchange for some amount of magic work, and one from the art department because she was a real asset for their landscape artists (her specialty as a dupe witch is recording places, especially landscapes, from people's memories). Sorian had a merit scholarship from the carpentry department that covered about half his costs across his years there. He always suspected that it wasn't entirely based on merit, since a lot of his family members went through the same program, or else he had a leg up because the family business is carpentry, but he still took the money.

16. Overall, how was your oc's education funded? Did they apply for a grant, student loans, did someone else take care of the financing, did they attend a free university, etc.? What did this entail? Avis's parents made half an attempt to pay for her college but she would not let them. I don't think her schooling was nearly as expensive as it can get irl but she still filled out a million applications for funding, did work study, and always worked summers. Sorian also worked year round, but aside from taking the occasional commission through his family's carpentry business, he mostly just worked in the student bookstore (which is another reason bookstores make him think of Avis).

17. Do they have any plans for what they want to do after graduating? How long have they thought about this? Sorian pretty much always knew he wanted to go into magicarpentry. He considered other things, but none of them really caught his fancy in the same way. After graduating he essentially became an independent agent of his family's business. Avis, on the other hand, had a lot of vague ambitions but was never able to find a way to apply her magic to a job that interested her long term. At least until her job involved sailing to different islands (I'm not 100% sure what her job description is because in ToTS she used to help people figure out where to resettle in Faeryland as climate change worsened on Earth. That could still work on Rade since most planets don't have such clear seasonal areas but idk if that's what I want to go with).

18. If your oc participates in any extra-curricular activities or clubs, what are they? How much of their time and energy do these take up? Avis was in a film club that was like the anime club at my college, which mostly consisted of booking a lecture hall and just watching a bunch of anime episodes back to back. She also was definitely in a tennis club. She couldn't convince Sorian to try for the rowing team (yes she did just want to catch him rowing by shirtless with a boatful of his friends, is that so wrong) but she did get him into the tennis club, and occasionally the film club when he had time for it. Sorian was really more of a chess club kind of guy. He also ran one of the book clubs at the bookstore but that wasn't strictly an extracurricular for him.

18a. Do they actually enjoy these extra-curriculars, or are they just a means to an end? Avis is not normal about tennis. She's also not normal about Sorian. She was having the time of her life. It was sort of the same for Sorian, except he just ended up being haunted by the ghosts of chess games he could have won. Though he did enjoy the film nights he made it to, you could say those were more a means to an end - friendship.

i agree with the sports/kpop comparison is valid as well. it reminds me of when (sorry bringing it back to 25 21 lol) but when those guys were arguing about what the players did wrong and played horribly and how heedo got mad & explained that they acted as if /they/ were the ones playing and felt all the emotions of it all. people get VERY heated about their teams and sports in general. i'm a sports fan as well but mostly cause i just enjoy it but not to the extent of music, BUT people DO get that crazy for their favorite players. if you never been to a sports event... like look at how they treated sports like it was ABOVE EVERYTHING during covid. like how they were literally having games and allowed to cheer yet bts had to have a concert in silence... like yeah, it's that serious and i wouldn't say its any different. people literally have fantasy leagues, managing teams (shoutout bts world) lmao. so why is one so acceptable and the other isn't? don't think they don't talk about their fav athlete less than us talking about the members

oh yeah the players getting mad thing is valid too bc it happens a lot even in my house while watching cricket where i have to be like guys we don't even play cricket 😭 even i get super heated abt my sports though like me on this blog is a very chill extremely easygoing person compared to me in a pub on f1 race weekends like. i am practically ice compared to that. 😭 (or even certain tennis matches against certain players i will not name) it genuinely is insane how sports fans get away with so much and i've had these same discussions irl bc whenever i tell someone i like bts, their first question is always dude aren't their fans crazy (including my friends' first reaction!!!) and every time i have to sit and explain to them why that's something that's ingrained in their thinking when they don't say the same thing about their favourite sports (for ref, my different friends are into: rugby, football, cricket, f1) and then i give them examples of the things those fans do which is when it Clicks for them bc so much of it is just preconceived notions or whatever they've heard from other people and it's annoying that i have to explain in the first place but i am glad that they actually listen 😭 [for a non-sports reference: every day, fans wait outside mannat (shah rukh khan's actual house that he lives in) and it's a literal tourist spot atp bc if you go anywhere near his place in bandra, auto drivers will ask you if you want to see it and tell me how that's not insane that they wait outside every day for a glimpse of him]

Evercore Heroes’ PvE format isn’t “easy,” so ignore the skeptics

The competitive PvE environment is Evercore Heroes' key differentiator. The gameplay is different from Riot Games' MOBA League of Legends in that you face off against enormous AI bosses in a race to the finish line that is more reminiscent to the World of Warcraft Race to World First competition.How have players responded to Evercore Heroes' format, which is extremely different from anything we've ever seen before? I questioned Trey Douglas, director of marketing operations at Vela Games. When Evercore Heroes was first revealed, Vela Games’ CEO and co-founder Travis George told me that the team doesn’t “even try to put a genre label on it,” instead just describing Evercore as “its own thing.” It makes a lot of sense, given there’s PvE elements, mixed with the traditional PvP MOBA setting, and even some MMORPG features thrown into the mix, too. It’s certainly quite the chimera, but given the relative similarity to League of Legends, I wondered how battle-hardened LoL ranked demons would take to Vela’s PvE experience. “There’s been a little skepticism in some areas, concerns that no PvP will somehow make the game lesser,” Douglas tells PCGamesN. “But that’s really half the point of Evercore Heroes; we believe that there’s a strong market for cooperative play and generally, our community has pushed back on that narrative that we need PvP to be interesting. “I think that, for some people, they equate PvE with ‘simple’ or ‘easy’ and that’s just not the case with us – even before you consider the competitive element at the core of the experience! Journal Day #29 - Successful People Scare Me (Discomfort Challenge Journal)

I’m an extremely socially awkward person. I can’t tell you what caused it (it’s a long list of varying factors) but here I am, a 24 year old with a small handful of meaningful relationships that are honestly just my longest-lasting high school friends and some family members. It feels lame that I don’t have as wide of a social circle. While I appreciate the people who are in my life, I feel like I just need to expand it and explore more relationships with newer people.

This is hard to do when you’re the type of person to overthink approaching someone so much you end up rarely bothering to do so. You end up being The Watch and Wait-er, the guy who desperately hopes the guy who also is into the same stuff you are decides he wants to chill with you in your corner of the room. Or, you hope you get some boost of confidence that overrides your overthinking and pushes you to introduce yourself first.

The issue here is obvious (hopefully). How the hell do I expand my social circle if I refuse to put in the work, put myself out there, and sit there relying on other people to pull the weight. Clearly, the problem I need to solve is, once again, rewiring my negative thoughts and limiting beliefs regarding forming relationships. The problem is me, not other people.

There’s layers to my lack of social confidence and circle that I need to resolve. It took me a while to recognize all of them, but doing so gives me understanding on what to work on.

General social anxiety

Negative thoughts

Worries in regards to how others perceive me

Feeling I am not worthy of others’ attention

Potential autism (a thing I cannot self-help myself out of, but something I can manage)

A lack of social experience

Dissociating when faced with the idea of socializing (a now automatic stress response)

Not understanding the “social rules” and fearing crossing some boundaries

Terrible past experiences with socializing and being intentionally excluded (Kids are evil sometimes, dude)

Failing to try (a direct result of all the things listed beforehand)

That’s a long ass list. It’s a lot of things I have to pick apart and confront and rework. Some of them are harder to deal with than others. All of them can potentially be helped via “exposure therapy”: Get myself to face the fears, realize that my anxieties are kinda dumb, and slowly move away from limitation and fear and into forming more relationships and being confident in doing so.

While I did a discomfort challenge in which I would approach unfamiliar people in my life, I decided that maybe I could escalate it: Why don’t I message the people I admire or who have helped me in my journey through social media? Yeah. That’s FAR more terrifying than simply going up to a relatively normal guy my age who’s physically sitting there. I have to reach out and risk rejection (or even just being ignored, which actually sucks more than being rejected) and start a conversation.

I have to put myself WAY out there. This isn’t a way to network, honestly, but a way to push super far out of my boundaries. This task is so big and terrifying I put it off until today lol. I feel like a big ol’ dingus even bothering to message people “out of my league” in hopes of a response. I’m not looking for anything but an answer to a question I want to ask, but somehow even this simple approach makes me want to shrink into a microscopic speck.

I really don’t know why I get so afraid of reaching out or initiating conversation. I think it’s a feeling that I’m bothering the person somehow and am wasting their time, or that I’m too awkward, or that I’m not worth their attention. I don’t want to be ignored or rejected or made fun of (things that have happened in the past far too often, for some reason). All I want is to genuinely make friends and chill, but somehow I fear getting too close or making the first move.

I’m getting tired of how lonely this made me. I hate going to bed and waking up and not being able to just chat with someone. I hate that I barely have anyone to hang out with (No joke, there’s only one person who I know will be open to it. I fear reaching out to acquaintances, for some reason.)

I know I don’t try hard enough and I unintentionally push people away. People scare me. I’m hoping one day I can lay this fear to rest, or to overcome it completely.

The first time you step into the dingy bar of the LOV, you scrunch your nose at the smell. Cough into your fist, and scan the room with careful eyes. You see Tomura Shigaraki nursing a whiskey at the bar, Kurogiri behind it, Spinner chatting up Twice. Dabi is laid back on the couch, his arm slung around someone you don’t recognize.

“Hawks, our newest member!” Shigaraki says to the team. “Give him every hospitality.”

“Hey-yo!” you say, saluting leisurely as a greeting. Shigaraki introduces everyone, as if you don’t already know who everyone is. Except one person, the one cozied up to Dabi. They introduce themselves as [Y/N]. Someone you’ll have to research on later before you report back to the commission, which makes you sigh silently.

“Come sit! You’re in luck because tonight is movie night!” Twice says.

“Just tonight?” you ask, watching the rest of the members find seats around the small TV.

“Every Thursday!”

“What are we watching tonight?”

“Catch Me If You Can! About that American con artist,” [Y/N] says. “Pass me that blanket, would you?”

“Sounds interesting. And sure,” you say, tossing the Christmas themed blanket at them. You watch as they fluff it out on themselves and Dabi. You push over one of those lounge chairs and flop onto it. Shigaraki queues up Netflix and hits the play button.

About thirty minutes in, you hear [Y/N]. “Dabi, stop,” they whisper, smacking him on the arm lightly.

“What, I’m not doing anything at all.”

“Don’t act all innocent.” Out of your peripheral vision, you swear you see Dabi’s hand move under the blanket, [Y/N]’s hand gripping his forearm.

“But don’t I make you feel good, baby?”

“Don’t ask stupid questions. The problem is everyone is here.”

“Not like we haven’t done something like this before,” he scoffs. “Look, we even got an audience.”

Your face flushes as you listen to their conversation. You barely hear a low groan from [Y/N]’s lips.

“Can y’all shut the fuck up? I’m trying to see what Frank’s gonna do!” Shigaraki fumes, whipping around. A look at Dabi. “Oh.”

“C’mon, boss, don’t pay attention to us, watch the movie,” [Y/N] says.

“This is free entertainment right here.”

[Y/N]’s hips jolt upwards. “You perv.”

“More moaning my name, less talking,” Dabi growls, ripping the blanket off [Y/N]. [Y/N]’s wearing a yellow sundress, that by now, is hitched up above their hips. Their panties are pushed to the side, showing their glistening sex. Dabi’s middle finger and ring finger disappear inside of them, his palm pressing against the clit roughly as he fingers them.

“I-Is this a normal occurrence?” you stutter, face turning the same color as your wings.

“P-pretty normal, yeah, oh, Dabi, right there!” [Y/N] trails off, grinding up for more friction.

“What can we say, we like to have fun here.”

By now, the other league members have turned around, movie be damned.

“How are y’all so casual about this?!”

“Don’t be like that, you’re having a good time too, bird brain,” Dabi smirks, eyes drifting to your growing erection.

However, do you think it’s a possibility (I know it may not be a BIG one and I could be wrong lol) that maybe he might see Twice? Like, the design is very similar. And it would be kind of ironic how Touya saw Twice in his brother and now he is seeing him in his biological brother if that makes sense? Hello, thanks for your kind words - it means a lot! I like answering y’all’s questions :>

I did write a meta about Touya's view of Shouto [here]. So, my short answer is, ‘It’s a possibility, but I lean towards no.’ This is because 1) the bond between Touya and Twice and the league wasn’t as deep as we headcanon, 2) Touya has been brought to tears and is in pain because of his father/family, pain which having friends or comrades hasn’t erased, and 3) Touya seeing Twice in Shouto wouldn’t bring anything to his arc or to the Todoroki family plot.

I know in the analysis book it says Dabi and Twice cooperated like brothers, but I don’t think it’s the same as blood family - at least, that’s the message Horikoshi is writing in bnha. Usually, the found family trope is used to portray a group of unrelated people who bond over shared/similar experiences, which the League doesn’t entirely fit because they haven’t opened up to each other. No emotional vulnerability has happened. The readers know about each League member’s background, but the characters haven’t told each other. This is why Spinner is under the false impression that hatred strengthens Shigaraki [meta here] and doesn’t realize it actually makes Shigaraki more vulnerable to possession by AFO. Spinner doesn’t know the root cause of Shigaraki’s trauma - killing his family, his father’s abuse, etc - and how can he, if Shigaraki hasn’t shared? The League knows about Dabi now because of his reveal tape and not because he was vulnerable and disclosed his trauma.

The League all care about each other, even Dabi deep deep deep down. I’m not denying that. At the end of the day, they have different priorities and want to be acknowledged by different people, though. Having each other isn’t enough to satisfy the void left behind by their real families/society. Toga and Twice had the strongest bond of them all, obviously, and he felt fulfilled and happy with them. But, that was only Twice. If the rest of the League fulfilled each other’s emotional needs they wouldn’t be looking elsewhere. Toga wouldn’t have sought out Ochako after Twice died to ask her for an answer that would either make her feel better or make her feel worse. Her feelings wouldn’t have depended on Ochako’s response. Touya wouldn’t have lamented “even though my face looks like this, I would have thought my own family would have recognized me.” He would be more concerned about the current state of the League as a whole. Instead, we have him super tunnel-visioned on his father, unworried about Shigaraki writhing on the floor in pain. The League’s unconditional acceptance wasn’t enough to replace the acceptance of his biological family. Toga wandered away and Touya went after her, which was great subtle character building on Horikoshi’s part, but even that connection revolved around the concept of the family you’re born into and not the family you choose [this meta explains it in depth]. Spinner wasn’t telling either of them to come back or anything.

TLDR; The League is more like a group of angry misfits working together to accomplish a shared goal, each mostly emotionally closed off from the others. Co-workers, if you will. Now, this doesn’t mean they don’t care about each other - they do.

As far as Shouto looking like Twice in Touya’s POV - I mean, the costume is similar. I don’t think Shouto reminds him of Twice because of the tunnel vision Touya has, though. And the trauma, which stems from his father’s rejection because of Touya’s body-quirk mismatch, all of which led to Shouto’s existence. And the fact that Shouto is covered in shadows indicates that this view isn’t a positive one for Touya right now. I wrote about how Horikoshi uses lighting to provide framing [here]. The motif of shadows and light has been used with the Todoroki family often - the villain Starservant referred to Endeavor’s flames as beckoning the darkness [meta here], and Endeavor was often cast in shadows when he was violent toward his family during Shouto’s flashbacks of his childhood and the Todoroki family chapters.

So, all of this to say that Touya probably isn’t seeing Twice in Shouto right now. I mean, an argument could be made that seeing the goodness in Shouto like Twice had would help Touya realize Shouto isn’t his enemy, but I don’t think Horkishi made the Touya and Twice bond strong enough for that to happen. And there is absolutely nothing to imply a Shouto and Twice parallel, or that they are similar or connected in any way. Touya probably knows Twice better than he knows Shouto, after all.
