Cold winter skies illustrations for my daily meteorological fiction project, Reports From Unknown Places About Indescribable Events (Twitter, Instagram, Mastodon, archives on my website).
Keep reading for the companion texts.
December 31st: We report: sometimes, we think we know what to expect when it comes to the sky. We go a few days, maybe a couple of weeks without much happening, a rainbow perhaps, a contrail... We think we know the sky. It happens then, that the clouds twist and knit into impossibilities.
January 4th: We report: we went to the planetarium with our expert, once. We spent an hour watching as we got further, and further away from Earth, then the solar system, our galaxy, and then our galaxy group, until there was nowhere to go anymore. We got brought home, to our beating heart.
January 11th: We report: good morning, we would like to draw attention to a lovely and unexpected event occurring at this moment. Would you please look up to the clouds and notice how, though the sky is largely grey, the gulls flying overhead are tinted orange by the sunrise light? Thank you.
January 12th: We report: in the hollow of a valley, sleepy lightning bugs. There is grey little light dragging itself through the air like it does not want to be here, and we are cold with our hands in our pockets and our nose in our scarf and our ears exposed and bright red (nobody sees).
January 22nd: We report: we have missed a train today, but we can only hope that the train dearly missed us in return. We waited at the station for the next one for a long time, watched people get off and on different trains until it got too cold for us to wait outside. Wispy cirrus.
January 27th: We report on a winter morning: there was a robin and a few hares, blending in with the snowy grass. The snowflakes were heavy enough that we could hear them fall around us. We could smell the cold air until our nose started running. Grey sludge on the side of salted roads.
January 28th: We report: it is after nightfall, but there are still many sparrows chattering in the trees. The air is dank out here, and as we walk, we can feel condensation forming on our face, the white puffs of our breath dissolving into the night. Our expert walks a few steps behind us.
January 31st: We report sometime around sunrise (what sun, rising from where, one might ask on this cloudy morning). The light, weak and mournful, does not weigh enough to reach down the deep blue dark of the ocean. The sea, torn by the wind, is busy frothing and making everything capsize.
February 20th: We report: the barometer and the thermometer are both down. It rained a lot last night, and today, the waters are murky, agitated even through the advection fog. We cannot see the horizon. We picked up a nice, pearlescent seashell that glimmered in the sand amidst all the grey.
February 24th: We report: hares in the fields, then a partridge later. The mud is frozen, the clouds are thick. Not much wind. Some colza and daffodils blooming on the roadside. A little bit more of February, its low skies and its half-steps, the transitions in the light and the time.

hazy shade of winter
summary: after vecna opens the gates, you and steve decide to stay behind in hawkins to help clean up the mess.
pairing: steve harrington x henderson!sister reader
title 🎵: hazy shade of winter by the bangles
Tumblr media
It’s been about a month since Vecna opened the gates to the Upside Down. A lot has changed since that fateful March night. Hawkins is almost unrecognizable now.
As the gates opened, Hawkins was rocked with a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. People died, homes were destroyed. It was so bad that the government had to bring in the Army to help deal with the fall out. They believe what happened in Hawkins was a natural disaster of near-unprecedented scale, but you know the truth. There was nothing natural about it…
Since the gates expanded throughout town, the Upside Down has been slowly seeping into the real world. It’s invading Hawkins. People are fleeing in droves and you don’t blame them.
You’ve changed a lot too. Before Vecna, you were looking forward to leaving Hawkins and going off to college. Now that feels like a lifetime ago. You aren’t going anywhere anymore. Things are getting bad in Hawkins and you want to be close to your mom and your little brother, Dustin, during this time.
You and the rest of the party lost the battle against Vecna. You feel partially responsible and now you feel like it's your job to clean up the mess Vecna made. Vecna may have won the battle when he opened the gates, but the war has just begun. You are not leaving town until the gates are closed and threats from the Upside Down are gone for good.
Your boyfriend, Steve, feels the same way. You and Steve had talked about getting out of Hawkins before everything happened. But now he’s just as committed as you to stay behind and help save Hawkins. You’re so grateful to have Steve by your side. He makes you feel safe.
Even though the world is ending, the show must go on. Your life didn’t completely stop because of Vecna. You’re still moving forward and hitting big milestones, like graduating high school. Today was Graduation Day for Hawkins High. You’re happy and excited that school’s out, but with everything else going on, it didn’t feel like a big deal like it was supposed to.
The graduation ceremony was weird. A lot of people fled town before the school year ended so you only graduated with about half of your class. But at least you had Steve, Dustin and your mom in the stands cheering you on. There were memorials for Chrissy Cunningham, Jason Carver and Patrick McKinney. Sadly but not surprisingly, Eddie wasn’t even mentioned. He should’ve been walking across that stage with you and the rest of class of ‘86.
After Graduation, you went out for a celebratory meal with Steve, Dustin and your mom. Then you and Steve went off to do your own thing.
You’re currently lying on the hood of Steve’s car, stargazing. It’s something that you and Steve used to do all the time. You fell in love under the stars. Unfortunately, you can’t really see the stars in Hawkins anymore. You’re mostly just watching spores of particles from the Upside Down falling from the sky. It reminds you of a hazy shade of winter.
“If things get any worse here, I think we should go to the planetarium next time we want to watch the stars,” you chuckle, trying to lighten the mood.
“Mhmmm,” Steve mumbles.
You look over to Steve, studying his face. You’re trying to get a read on him. You’ve noticed he’s been acting a bit off since dinner ended. He’s a lot more quiet than usual. Something is up with him.
“Steve, what’s wrong? Talk to me,” you try to get your boyfriend to open up.
Steve sighs.
“It’s nothing…. It’s just…. My parents are leaving Hawkins and putting the house up for sale,” Steve reluctantly admits.
Your jaw drops.
“What?! That doesn’t sound like nothing!” you exclaim.
“My mom and dad are moving but I’m not going anywhere,” Steve assures you.
You let out a sigh of relief. Your boyfriend continues venting.
“The worst part is that they won’t let me stay at home even though they will never be able to sell it. My asshole dad is just trying to teach me some stupid lesson…”
“When did you find out about this?” you question Steve.
“Last night,” your boyfriend answers.
“Last night!? Why didn’t you say anything earlier today?” you scrunch your forehead.
“It’s your day, Y/N. I didn’t want to make it about me,” Steve tells you.
Your heart melts a little bit. Steve is so sweet and selfless. Despite all the shit going on in his own life, he always puts you first. You snuggle up closer to your boyfriend, wrapping a protective arm across his chest.
“When are your parents leaving?” you ask with concern.
“They’re trying to leave as soon as possible so I need to find a new place like immediately,” Steve explains, “I don’t think it’s gonna be too hard. With everyone leaving town, I can probably rent a whole house for pretty cheap.”
Some people who fled Hawkins put their homes up for rent because they knew they could never sell it. Most of the renters are people whose homes were destroyed when the gate opened but are too poor to move out of Hawkins and completely start over.
“I don’t like the thought of you being all alone,” you say with a quiet seriousness in your voice.
Steve takes a deep breath and nods, understanding. He can tell that you’re worried. He’s trying to figure out the right words to say, and then-
“I wouldn’t be alone if you moved in with me…”
You pull away from Steve and sit up. You’re in a bit of shock. You weren’t expecting that.
“Huh?”
“I think we should move in together,” Steve repeats with more confidence
Your eyes widen.
“Are you serious? Like we’d live in a house that we both live in?”
Steve nods.
“Yeah. I mean, I’m sneaking over to your place like every other night anyways. Moving in together will mean less sneaking around,” he tries to convince you.
“But I thought you liked sneaking around. You’re stealthy like a ninja, remember?” you tease.
“Just think about it, Y/N! We’ll get a little place in Hawkins and we’ll figure it out. We can be like real grown ups. It would be our house. No stress, no parents. A place just for us,” your boyfriend says.
Just for us. That sounds perfect.
“Okay, let’s do it,” you smile.
Steve’s face lights up.
“Really?”
“Really,” you nod before pulling your boyfriend into a kiss.
You and Steve are making out on the hood of his car when-
GROWL
You and Steve stop kissing immediately as soon as you hear the growls in the distance. You two exchange knowing looks. You have no idea if it's just an animal or a far more sinister creature from the Upside Down, but neither you or Steve want to stick around and find out.
“I think we should get out of here,” Steve tells you.
“Yeah,” you nod your head in agreement.
Steve jumps off the hood of the car and offers his hand. You take your boyfriend’s hand and he helps you off the hood. Steve opens the car door on the passenger’s side and you quickly get in. Steve closes your door and looks around, making sure that nothing is trying to sneak up on the two of you. Then he goes around to the driver’s side and gets in the car.
As Steve drives away, you can’t help but be a little bummed that your moment of bliss was interrupted by a terrible reminder that you’ve still got a lot of shit to deal with…

a/n: so this is totally unrelated to the story and obey me entirely but if any of you are bsd enjoyers did y’all read chapter 107?? y’all almost didn’t get a new chapter of this story bc of that damn chapter. it made me want to jump off the nearest 50ft building. I wanted to die after reading that fr, so bc asagri made me cry we’re getting double angst for this chapter. anyway I’m done with my rant now enjoy!
oh and p.s. I’m putting which perspective you’re reading as since some found it confusing last chapter. the original is og MC, and the wrathful human is wrath! MC just in case it’s confusing!
warnings: slightly longer chapter, lesson 16 spoilers, descriptions of dying, choking, mentions of blood, abuse of pacts (slightly)
a success for one side

The perspective of the original
“Lucifer was there really no other way we could have done that?” Levi asked, struggling to get up off the ground. His whole body ached and blood dripped from his mouth pooling onto the planetarium ground in heavy amounts.
“Levi close yer mouth, you're gonna lose more blood if ya keep it open” Mammon said, making his way over to his younger brother.
“Yeah there could have been a different way of doing this, we’re not all masochists, like you Lucifer” Satan spat. Blood then fell from his nose onto his shirt and he cursed in response.
“In my defense I never agreed to this” Asmo yelled. “My whole body is covered in bruises and blood Lucifer! I have a photoshoot on Monday!”
“Belphie’s out cold” Beel said, moving closer to his twin ignoring the blood falling from his face.
“That’s no surprise, Mc really did a number on him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was out for a few hours because of it.” Satan sighed.
“I’ll take him to your room, Beel.” Lucifer said, walking over to pick up the youngest.
“Lucifer ya look like you're gonna fall over” Mammon said watching the oldest slowly walk over to their younger brother.
“I’m fine,” He stated. “For now we should focus on cleaning ourselves up and heading after Mc”
“I doubt Mc wants to see us right now…” Levi sighed.
“Levi, close your mouth” Mammon yelled as blood began to fall on him.
“Ahh!” Levi screamed.
Mammon sighed and helped Levi and the rest of his brothers get up after Lucifer left with Belphie. If he’s being honest he doesn’t remember much of what happened due to blacking out halfway through your wrath episode. After you were done he and his brothers each woke up laying on the floor with pools of blood surrounding them.
He honestly didn’t like Lucifer’s plan of taunting you into a pact, but sacrifices had to be made if they wanted you to stay here.
You needed to stay here.
More often then he and his brothers would like to admit they really did miss their Mc. However they did love and enjoy your company just as much. Their only wish was that their Mc was just like you.
Interacting and having fun with you was always bittersweet in a sense since it reminded them of a time before the incident, a happier time before everything went downhill.
If only you could have forgiven them.
It didn’t matter how much they did miss their own Mc, because they were going to keep you here in their place. You reminded them of the personality they were used to, it was as if this other version of you currently with them had completely forgotten about the incident and moved on with their life.
Sure you had a breakdown or two about your feelings but they sincerely apologized about what happened and you forgave them, causing them to finally be able to move on as well.
They all believed everything was going great, after all you never complained or spoke about anything being wrong with them so they were blind to the truth. You went along with everything and anything they did which made them desire your attention and affection more. These demons were so touch starved for you to the point of it becoming a problem.
However they weren’t going to lie, seeing you that upset really did hurt them. Most of them disagreed with Lucifer’s first plan to make a pact with you, and the second plan made the brothers split in half. The third and last plan was the one they currently just carried out.
It was because Lucifer had the bright idea to upset you so much that you’d finally be willing to make a pact with him for your enjoyment. Belphie also making a pact with you was a bonus, after all the youngest finally got what he wanted, even if it did cost him.
As Mammon finally finished cleaning up Levi and a few more of his brothers he couldn’t help but wonder where you were heading off too. You mentioned you had something to do after you dealt with them, he just couldn’t remember what it was…
After leaving the House of Lamentation you stormed in the direction of the Demon Lord's Castle, with the intent of speaking to the prince and his butler. Nothing but pure rage filled your thoughts as you clenched your bloody fists. You were going to demand them to send you back to your timeline no matter what.
As you reached the door to the castle you prepared to knock, however before you even got the chance the door opened revealing a smiling Barbatos on the other side.
“Good evening Mc, what brings you here? If I’m not mistaken I don’t remember arranging for you to come over.”
“I need to speak with Diavolo.” You simply stated, right now you were not in the mood to make small talk with the butler.
“Ah well we should get you cleaned up first and foremost you appear to be bleeding” Barbatos said reaching for your hand.
Reluctantly you let him take it and examine the condition of your bloodied hands and arms. “Don’t worry about it, it's not my blood anyway.” You said pulling away.
Barbatos’ eyes widened just the slightest as he gave you a surprised look before trying to speak again, only to get cut off by the prince himself.
“Mc are you okay? You’re not hurt, are you?” Diavolo asked, slightly frantically as he made his way over to you pushing his butler aside in the process.
“Like I said previously I’m fine. I’m not the one you should be asking that question too anyway”
Diavolo looked confused then spoke. “What do you mean? Did you happen to get into a fight with some demons? Where are the brothers..?”
“At the House of Lamentation. Listen I didn’t come here to talk about them I came here to ask for help Dia”
“Of course Mc, but first I need to ask, what’s wrong? Are you in any danger of some sorts, if you are I assure you Barbatos and I can take care of it”
You sighed before speaking. How were you to go about telling the demon prince himself that you were from a different timeline? Your Barbatos told you not to mention that detail at all costs because it could somehow affect the future, however you didn’t know how much longer you could stay in a place like this. This timeline was beginning to bring out parts of yourself you tried so hard to keep hidden, who knows what else it could cause you to do if you stayed here any longer…
“I am not your Mc.” You stated.
Diavolo and Barbatos shared a confused glance at each other before you continued.
“I’m from a different timeline where different events have occurred, but somehow I got switched with your Mc from this timeline. I need your help to get back before I cause anymore damage here then I already have.”
It was silent for a few seconds, and the two who were standing in front of you stared at you with blank faces. Seconds soon turned into minutes and you began to get worried since neither of them showed any signs of responding.
Anxious now you prepared to defend your words until Diavolo smiled and walked towards you, with Barbatos soon following behind.
“Oh Mc, don’t worry I believe you, after all I could tell right away that you weren’t from here!” Diavolo laughed.
“Is that so…?” You said awkwardly.
“Of course! You’re much nicer and more understanding than our Mc. Your personality sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison. And it’s a bit suspicious when I get glares and eye rolls one day and a hug and nickname the next. No human I’ve met changes personalities that fast.”
“Ah I see…so then I take it you’ll help me get back?”
“Oh I think you misunderstand, I never said that.” Diavolo smiled.
“What?” You replied, taking a small step back.
“See, with you here the exchange program is producing wonderful results! Better than I expected actually. Well that and everyone here seems to enjoy your presence, including me. So you wouldn’t want to leave us so soon now, would you?” Diavolo said, invading your personal space. The demon prince was speaking with such a friendly tone it was as if you were having tea with him and joking around.
“I have to go home, I need to go home. Please believe me you all are wonderful but this isn’t where I belong. I feel suffocated here, and to be frank I don’t feel the same way I feel about my demons when I’m with you all.”
Diavolo frowned and sighed. “It’s okay, you’ll feel the same in due time, after all we’re all very alike right?”
Your eyebrows furrowed and you glared back at him. “No I won’t. I refuse to stay here because you don’t have a good relationship with your Mc. You need to figure out what the fuck you did wrong and fix it.”
“Don’t drag me here as a replacement to fix all your problems. Because if you do that then you are just like them. You have no concern for our feelings whatsoever.” You spat.
Barbatos then returned your glare and made his way towards you. “I understand you’re upset but I would appreciate it if you didn’t speak to the young master in such a manner. Don’t forget your place Mc.”
“That’s enough Barbatos.” Diavolo said, putting his hand up.
“If Mc won’t comply then we’ll just take them by force.”
“No you won-“
“Please don’t make this any more difficult than it has to be Mc.” Diavolo said, and that was the last thing you heard before blacking out.
_____
The perspective of a wrathful human
You were on top of Belphegor on the floor as he weakly tried to pry your hands from his throat. The demon in front of you was hanging onto what little conscience he had left as he watched your face morph into a smile.
“How does it feel to have your throat crushed by someone you so dearly placed your trust in?”
Belphegor let out a choked noise in response.
“Does it hurt? Finding it hard to breathe? I’m sure it must be very unpleasant” you said, then proceeded to lean down applying more pressure onto his throat.
Belphegor began to bleed from his mouth as you laughed. You kept spitting out nonsense about killing him as he tried to get you off, so in the process you proceeded to get his blood all over your arms.
This scene in general didn’t look too pleasant from afar, so you can believe the brothers utter shock when they busted through the planetarium doors frantic, at the sound of choking and laughing.
At first they feared the worst and thought it to be you choking and being killed again, however nothing could have prepared them upon seeing you bloodied and on top of the youngest brother.
Belphie looked utterly horrible. His complexion was paler than usual and the corners of his mouth began to turn purple and blue accompanied by red blood falling from the side.
When he heard his brothers enter the room his head instantly turned to face them and he unconsciously reached out for them.
After a second of silence due to trying to process the situation Lucifer and Beel were soon darting towards your direction faster than you had ever seen them. In seconds flat they were ripping you off of the youngest who was still out if it.
“Mc what in the Devildom is wrong with you?” Lucifer yelled, grabbing tightly onto one of your arms. He tried his best not to hurt you, but seeing his brother being strangled by you really set him off.
“Mc stop it now” Beel said, slightly raising his voice as he grabbed your other arm. He didn’t want to see you two fight, it broke his heart. The two people he cared about the most were going at it again, he couldn’t lose Belphie, but he didn’t want to let his temper get the best of him and end up hurting you too.
“Get off of me you damn demons” you screamed as they held you up.
“Mc calm down.” Lucifer said, grabbing your arm tighter than before.
“Shut up! I’m going to kill him, he deserves it”
“Mc stop!” Asmo yelled from afar.
“No, you don’t know what it's like, any of you!”
“What in the Devildom are you going on about Mc?” Lucifer said, at this point he was soon reaching a breaking point with you and this tantrum.
“You don’t know what it feels like to be killed do you?”
“To have your throat crushed. Or to feel as if your lungs are on fire from the lack of oxygen in your system. After that is the horrible headache and throbbing pain that consumes your head and your thinking. In a state of panic like that you then feel your limbs become limp as you try and free yourself. However due to the lack of strength you can’t do anything except deal with what fate has in store for you.”
“Dying is absolutely terrifying”
“However what makes everything even worse is the fact that afterwards I have to live in the same house with the same demon who put me through all of that and pretend everything is just fine. When in fact everything is just worse”
Lucifer and Beel’s grip on you had losend the slightest as they watched you squirm. Upon hearing your words they swallowed hard, trying to come up with some type of response, but before any of them could continue you began to speak again.
“If I kill him it will all be over.”
“What will killing Belphie accomplish, Mc.” Beel asked, then tightened his grip on your arm.
“Everything! All the nightmares will finally go away, all the panic attacks and breakdowns will stop. And maybe, just maybe I can have a normal conversation with other demons without my body being terrified for my life. Maybe I can be touched by a demon and not have my skin feel as if it will burn itself. Everything will be better once he’s gone” you screamed, trying your best to get free from the two brothers' hold.
The brothers stared at you in silence as they took in the severity of your words. Had you really suffered this much without them knowing? Had their Mc gone through this as well…? How long before their Mc got over it?
Did they ever get over it? How did their Mc feel about the whole situation, they never got to talk about it after all.
How many nights did they wake up in a cold sweat with tears streaming down their face, or how many nights did they stay up because they couldn’t sleep due to the nightmares?
You went through all this trauma by yourself without any of them being there to comfort you, no wonder you were upset.
However while the brothers were all thinking deeply about your words you were on an adrenaline high with no signs of coming down soon.
“Let go of me and stay out of the way. All six if you” you shouted.
The tone was that of a command, and no later than a second you were free and heading back to the youngest as fast as you could.
Lucifer cursed himself for letting his guard down, their whole purpose was to make sure you didn’t use the pacts but that plan failed.
As you jumped back onto Belphegor you punched him in the face causing blood to spill out the other side of his mouth.
“Mc stop please, don’t hurt Belphie” Beel yelled, trying his best to break free from the pact.
It was no use because his words fell on deaf ears. You were too busy beating the shit out of the demon you were on top of.
Belphie accepted what you were doing with an occasional grunt here and there as you continued to punch his face. He did feel bad, he felt horrible honestly, but if this made you feel better then he was willing to let you get all your anger out. After all he deserved it, is what he believed.
As the youngest brothers face continued to get bloodied, some of his brothers looked away while others tried their best to speak to you, Beel was the only one who was struggling to break free so that he could save Belphegor.
“Mc…” you faintly heard from the demon in front of you.
“What do you want? Don’t tell me you’re giving up already, I’m not done with you yet.”
“Please hear me out really quick, i promise it’ll be fast” he spoke dryly.
You gave him another punch before stopping for a brief moment. “Well get on with it”
Belphegor cleared his throat and tried to sit up the best he could to look you in the eyes. Sighing he then spoke.
“I understand it’s very selfish of me to tell you something like this, but I really want you to hear me out.”
You raised your eyebrows and then he continued.
“Mc I’m so sorry. Truly I really am, I was wrong about humans, I was wrong about everything. After Lilith’s death I was filled with so much anger towards humans. However I realize now that I shouldn’t have taken it out on you because you were only trying to help.”
“I never apologized to you after because I was too scared of what you would say. I was too scared you’d never forgive me so I swept it under the rug and tried to pretend it never happened. I’m just a damn coward. Only now did I realize my brothers and I didn’t ask how you felt. We just went on with life leaving you to deal with all the trauma.”
“I apologize because you should have never had to go through an event as traumatic as dying. I didn’t realize all those things you dealt with were because of me so I want you to know I’ll try my best to fix them now, if you’ll let me. If not then I accept whatever punishment you have in mind. “
“I just want you to know from the bottom of my heart I really am truly sorry. I love you so much Mc and if you forgive me then great, however I don’t expect you to. It’s selfish of me to ask you to make that decision, so I promise to deal with whatever you want to do, if it’ll make you happy”
You felt tears fall from your eyes onto the floor making it a darker color than it previously was. However you couldn’t figure out why you were crying. How long has it been since you actually cried like this?
You hit Belphie again as tears continued to fall, but this time your hits were much lighter and softer so they didn’t actually hurt the seventh born.
“Mc, I-“
“Shut up!”
You screamed. You didn’t want to hear him right now, you didn’t want to face the fact that an apology such as that one actually was sincere and filled with emotion, unlike the halfhearted apologies your demons gave you.
You now had to come to terms with the fact that you had finally gotten an apology from the heart like you had wanted. To you it didn't matter if they were your demons or not, all that matters was that Belphegor had finally apologized.
Belphie opened his arms and smiled, waiting patiently for a hug. Your eyes went wide as you stared at him for a moment, and after what felt like forever you slowly inched closer to him,
Hesitantly you leaned forward slowly into the hug, and once you hit his chest he engulfed you with his arms. You freaked out for a second but he reassured you that he was happy you chose to hug him.
“Mc thank you for trusting me like this.” Belphie said.
You held your head low and sighed before speaking.
“Just because I let you touch me doesn’t mean everything is magically better, you demons are so naive.”

a/n: so how are we finding about this chapter? there are a few things I do want to ask if you did notice, and a couple questions I have for y’all, you can think about these or just answer in the comments! i just want to understand what y’all think is all!
- first off, what do you think og MC did to the brothers to leave them that beat up?
- can you find the lesson 16 dialogue in the second part of this chapter?
- did you notice how wrath! MC was just happy with heartfelt apology? It didn’t matter if it was from their demons or the ones in the og timeline, unlike the og MC who didn’t quite feel filled with the other brothers apology.
- and lastly would you personally, forgive Belphie after an apology like that?
thanks for reading! <3

Preface
When this was first announced I was devastated because at that time, my trip to Japan was scheduled to end on Dec 14th. But with both Wakana and Keiko announcing solo performances after that day, I was determined to find a way to extend my stay. Initially, I was hesitant because I knew there was no way to change my return flight. I would ultimately lose a significant amount of money and on top of that, I would have to book a new one-way return ticket for a later date which would cost me a fortune as well. After considering all my pros and cons, I ultimately decided to go through with the whole thing because I knew I would probably hate myself forever if I didn't use that opportunity. Of course it also hinged upon whether or not I would manage to get a ticket for the fan club performance in the evening. I knew my chances were super slim due to the tiny venue (~100 people) but luckily, I won a ticket. At that point I knew that I had no excuses not to go XD This is by far one of he craziest and most irrational things I've ever done so for some time I was afraid that I would end up with horrible regrets but I am happy to report that it was worth every penny for me. Not only was Wakana's concert amazing, these two Keiko performances absolutely blew me away with their intimate nature and unique atmosphere. Can you believe that this was actually the first time for me to attend a Keiko solo event? I had purchased streaming tickets for all of her online lives of course but I had never been to an on-site event. And for a while now, I have been asking myself if I would even enjoy a one-man live like that since - as we all know - I am not particularly fond of a lot of her solo releases but, lo and behold, my love for Keiko and her music was 100% reaffirmed. I am so glad that I took the plunge, I couldn't be more grateful to have been able to be there for this amazing experience. On this note, I wanna give a big shout-out to my friend Pae who encouraged me from the get-go to come to the event and who got our tickets for the day performance. It was a general sale on a first come-first serve basis and she really knocked it out of the park with her professional ticket purchasing skills. I definitely could never have done it that quickly so kudos to her. Here's a picture of little old me, Pae and her friend from Thailand.

Merchandise
I wanna take a few moments to talk about the live goods because I am utterly smitten with everything. The acrylic stands and the block are particularly pretty but I am also obsessed with the polaroids. I almost couldn't contain myself and since they didn't have any limits as to how many pieces one person could buy, I naturally went all out. Don't worry, I didn't buy that much since I was still reeling from how expensive it was to extend my trip. Also, I was one of the first few people in line so it would have been rude to buy an excessive amount, there were a ton of other fans around after all, they obviously also wanted to buy a lot of merch. While they prepared plenty of the random polaroid magnets, they unfortunately didn't really bring enough of the acrylic stuff. By the end of the day performance, the acrylic stands were already completely sold out and after the evening performance, the acrylic block was gone too. I guess that means that even if we get an online sale at one point, they will only sell the tote bag and the magnets...or maybe they'll produce another batch of all the acrylic items...We'll have to wait and see...I could see myself buying some more polaroids if they become available online. I only got two pieces with a handwritten message by Keiko so it would be nice to have more. But they are not exactly cheap so I'll have to think about it.

Venue
The venue was...not what I had expected XD. The pictures online of Konica Minolta Planetaria are a bit misleading but I guess that's because they only ever feature Dome 2 and not Dome 1 which is significantly smaller and doesn't have any of the fancy seats. Our seats were little more than reclining beach chairs with a little table but oh well, I didn't come there to be seated comfortably so it didn't bother me too much. At the end of the day, it was a good thing that the dome was so tiny because it made everything feel so much more intimate. And let me tell you, when I say intimate, I mean intimate. I've never ever been this close to Keiko (and I've had my fair share of close encounters with her). There were no assigned seats for the performances, everyone just had a number on their ticket and we were allowed to enter the dome in order of that number. As mentioned earlier, Pae was super fast getting our tickets so we ended up with the numbers 5 to 7, meaning that for the day performance I got a seat right at the front with a clear view of Keiko. There was no stage or anything, just a bit of basic equipment, some microphones and two stools. This meant that there was barely any space between the front row and the artist area (1 metre maybe). Needless to say, I spent the entire time looking at Keiko XD. I almost felt a bit bad because I was missing out on the lovely projections but to be fair, it was actually quite hard to get a good view of them this close to the front so the best option for me was to just stare at Keiko. During the break I bought myself a yummy galaxy donut which was almost too pretty to eat but at that point I was starving so I literally devoured it. For the FC exclusive evening performance I wasn't nearly as lucky when it came to my number. I got #71 so I ended up in one of the last rows unfortunately. From the first performance I knew that Keiko would be entering from the back door on the left side and walk through the audience so I at least made sure to take a seat close to the door so she would walk right past me (which she did so YAY but more on that later). On another positive note, the seat in the back made it possible for me to get fully immersed in the projections without being too distracted by Keiko. It was truly breathtaking to see all these space-themed vivid images across the ceiling.

Performance
It feels like I have already talked so much about the whole thing but I haven't mentioned a single thing about the actual performances so let me rectify that. I've already alluded to it in the beginning of this post, Keiko was absolutely stunning and I am obviously not just talking about her looks. Her vocals were out of this world, every single song of the setlist flattered her so much, there was not a single misplaced note as far as I could tell. Due to the nature of the event, it was of course a very understated performance, there was no wild movement or crazy choreography, it was just Keiko standing/sitting there being illuminated by the tiniest of lights, just enough to still see her but never enough to distract from the visuals. After all, the main focus were supposed to be the projected images and for the most part, that was the case. Only occasionally they would shine some more light on Keiko (mostly during MCs). As you can see below, the setlist was full of ballads and OMG, I couldn't have been happier about that. She sang almost all my faves so I was pretty much in heaven for the first half of the live. Almost started crying during 通り雨 because it was painstakingly beautiful. キミガネムルカラ and 夕顔 were also true gems to experience live, so haunting and mystic. She brought out her brand new guitar for songs #4 to #6 and while I have never been the biggest fan of acoustic guitars, Keiko really managed to make me fall in love with the sound. Both her and her guitarist did a fantastic job arranging and performing these tracks. Also, I was quite surprised to hear Yas Nakajima provide backup vocals for Keiko during Burn In The Wind, their voices match perfectly.
The cover section was admittedly a bit of a let-down for me since the chosen songs are not exactly among my favourites. That's not to say that I didn't enjoy myself or that Keiko didn't deliver the songs flawlessly, it's just that I don't really care all that much for the songs themselves. There were some really gorgeous high notes though so I really can't complain. Speaking of covers, I was super hyped when Keiko announced that she would be singing 風の街へ, a self-cover of her first FictionJunction KEIKO work. I had a feeling she would maybe sing it (since it's obviously a perfect fit for this sort of atmosphere) but Pae kept telling me that it probably wouldn't be happening. Glad I was right about that. During the MC, Keiko was talking about her upcoming single 夕闇のうた so for a while I was sure she would just sing that but she ultimately did not perform it. We got to hear the full version a few days earlier at Kaji Fes. so I wasn't too disappointed that it didn't make it onto the setlist of the planetarium live (also, if I am being honest, the song hasn't really grown on me yet so it's not like I'm dying to hear it again and again). Instead, she chose the song that marked the very beginning of Keiko's journey together with Yuki Kajiura and really, I can never get enough of it. It's one of my very favourite YK x Keiko collaborations and it's always such a pleasure to hear it live. It was only my second time so I couldn't have been more grateful. The final three songs were a nice change of pace with more involvement from the audience and more focus on Keiko rather than the projections. I certainly didn't expect ラテ to make an appearance but with the pretty lights, it worked surprisingly well. The whole thing had a very futuristic feel to it if you know what I mean. ユア has slowly been growing on me and it's just such a feel-good song that I cannot stop vibing with it (similar to Wakana's Happy Hello Day actually). The ending was beyond epic, エンドロール is such a cool song. I just wish I had known the lyrics so I would have been able to sing along properly (I have zero skills when it comes to memorising lyrics) . Keiko tried to prepare us with a few test-runs but I kept mixing up some lines T_T Oh well, I had a blast so that's all that counts! The one thing I felt kinda sad about was the fact that we didn't get an encore but I guess they had to keep the performance short...?

Fan Club Exclusive Part
Tumblr media
When I entered the dome for the fan club exclusive evening performance, I was given a large envelope by a staff member containing a message card by Keiko. The scan above features the picture which makes up one half of the card. So pretty! (Please keep in mind that this is fan club exclusive!) As mentioned earlier, I had a seat pretty far in the back during this performance, I was still close enough to have a good view of Keiko but I decided to focus on the projections this time around since Keiko jokingly mentioned a couple of times that she felt so many eyes on her and that we should try to enjoy the gorgeous view above as well. With the way she said it, I could tell that she wasn't annoyed or angry about it but she genuinely just wanted us the get the most out of the experience. And yeah, I have to admit, it was amazing to just lean back and watch the gorgeous space visuals while being gently wrapped by Keiko's vocals. Also, for some weird reason, the seats in the back were much more comfortable than the ones in the front row so that made it a lot easier to just relax. The setlist was the exact same and Keiko's performance was just as good. There were some technical issues with the projections at one point so the staff asked Keiko to take a little break and entertain the audience for a while so they could fix the problem. Keiko was really cute during this section because she struggled to come up with something to talk about. All her other MCs had been rather short and straight-to-the-point so there wasn't really anything to talk about. She even admitted that it was quite hard for her to just talk to an audience without having anyone on stage with her to create a sort of a back and forth. Unfortunately, her guitarist was pretty useless in that regard since he didn't feel comfortable at all talking XD Keiko ended up blabbering on and on about the most random stuff and eventually talked a bit about the guitar arrangement for 秋桜 which she found quite impressive. After they had fixed the issue, we went back to the regular program for a couple of songs until Keiko announced that it was time for some special games since this was a fan club event after all. First, we played a few rounds of a Maru-Batsu-Quiz (True-or-False-Quiz). They had prepared some Keiko-trivia questions. Everyone was asked to stand up and with every question people either answered with "true" (fist) or "false" (open hand). Those who answered incorrectly had to sit down so fewer and fewer people remained standing as time went by. Some of the questions were a bit tricky so all you could do was guess. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the lucky winners at the end. Although I will say that these games are mostly based on trust since you can always pretend to have made the correct gesture or change your gesture in the right moment (it's hard to verify stuff like that). There were a handful of guys who won the first two rounds, they got to walk towards the front and Keiko gave them a little present (some snack souvenirs from the most recent Asia tour-leg, nothing too exciting). Then we were all surprised because for one round the last person standing happened to be none other than Yuriko Kaida. Turns out she had been sitting right behind me all this time (her seat was the closest one to the back door in the very last row). I did not expect her to actually collect her prize (especially since Keiko mentioned that Yuriko had gotten the exact same souvenir in Taiwan) but she did. It was a treat seeing them interact like that. They are so funny together and it was during those moments that you could immediately tell that Keiko became so much more relaxed and talkative once she had someone on-stage with her who she felt comfortable with. As a final game, we did one round of rock-paper-scissors which once again, I wasn't lucky enough to win but I guess it just wasn't meant to be T_T
When the show was over, Keiko walked through the audience towards the door in the back and that's when my seat choice really paid off. She got super close to the people who had an aisle seat, she made eye contact, waved at us and even did little high fives with the one or the other female fan who dared to initiate a gesture like that (of course I didn't because I am too chicken-shit for that). Once Keiko was gone, Yuriko was also ushered outside. Some of us were still hopeful that we would get an encore, especially since they had closed the exit again but alas we didn't get one. However, we were all in for a special treat when it was time to finally get up and leave. When they started playing the usual after-live announcement it was obvious that there wouldn't be an encore so I took my stuff and headed towards the back door which a staff member was just about to open. That's when I realised that Keiko was standing right outside the door, waiting for the audience members to give each one of us a private send-off. This is a common occurrence with fan club events in Japan but I've never had it happen with Keiko before so this was super special. Also, during and even long after the pandemic, situations with close encounters like that were strictly avoided so I didn't really expect them to do a send-off. Seems like we have finally moved past those restrictions! BANZAI! Anyway, I literally froze in place when I saw Keiko standing there because I was scared to be the first one to be greeted by her. I waited a few seconds so a handful of people could walk out before me. This way I was able to observe what other fans were saying to her and how much time the staff allowed each person with Keiko. I know, it probably sounds ridiculous to you but this sort of stuff stresses me out immensely, I prefer to be at least a tiny bit prepared. I was probably the fifth person to walk outside and most people inside the dome were still putting on their clothes or picking up their stuff so there was not really a line behind me or any type of rush. When I got in front of Keiko, we both did the crazy waving thing again while I thanked her for everything. Then I told her that I am always supporting her from Vienna and she was like, "wow, Vienna, so cool!" At that point it would have probably been my turn to step away since I could tell that the staff member next to Keiko was getting antsy and already preparing to ask me to continue walking. But I wanted to use the opportunity to briefly mention my undying love for the beret I had won during a previous fan club event. As you probably all know, this is my most-prized possession. It's a hat previously owned and frequently worn by Keiko herself, she signed it and even wrote my name on it before shipping it out to me. Being as obsessed with Kalafina fashion as I am, I really couldn't have asked for a better gift. Squeezing all those emotions into a single sentence or two was very hard but I tried my best. I had forgotten how to breathe at that point and my voice was getting super weird. I pointed at my hat and hoped that she would even remember that she had given it away. Then I all but squeaked out how grateful I was to win it and that I would treasure it all my life. She also pointed at it with clear recognition on her face (thank God or it would have been embarrassing XD) and told me with the brightest of smiles, "ah yes, yes, I know, that's amazing, I am so happy for you!" Needless to say, that almost killed me 💀I definitely ascended to another plane of existence that day. I didn't wanna push my luck any further so with a final wave I kept walking towards the reception area and thus ended my Keiko Planetarium experience. Even hours after the event, I was still reeling from everything that had happened.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My plane was supposed to leave bright and early the following morning so I did not stick around longer than necessary. I said my goodbyes to a couple of fellow fans and then took off. Some of them wanted to invite me to a small after-dinner-party but I just wouldn't have been able to deal with the stress on the eve of my departure.
All right, that's it, hopefully I didn't forget anything and I didn't bore you to death. Kudos to anyone who managed to make it to the end.
PS: I just wanna say that Keiko is the prettiest human being ever. Every time I see her up-close I'm reminded of her other-worldly beauty. Standing right next to her, it doesn't even feel like she is a real person because everything about her looks so smooth and polished, like someone put a filter on top of her XD

sweet you rock, sweet you roll
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
welcome to 1990 where our besties are still on the early side of their lil’ love journey. for those that are new here, i use the name ‘Stella’/'Stella Rink’ as a fill in for 'Y/N’, so don’t get thrown off if you see it. it’s still a 'reader’ fic. cw: swearing, p in v sex, oral (f receiving), fingering (f receving), kissing, touching, honestly some of the cutest shit i’ve ever written, daddy kink mention if you squint, two people being in love with each other, fluff, smut, fluffy smut. sort of casual dominance but not really? he just likes to do stuff for her. —
“No, can’t go there,” Eddie’s voice sounded a little tinny over the phone, but happy to talk to you just the same. You’d been on two dates already, planning the third after a three week hiatus while you went on a press tour. Now you were both back in California, and he’d been itching to see you again. “Why can’t you go to Rappaport? Not like the food or something?” you ask, looking at the list of restaurants your assistant brought you. “Oh no, like, I can’t go there,” he urged, “I’m banned.”
“Oh,” you say, “So definitely not Rappaport then. How’s Sorrelli’s sound?” “Banned.” “Deltas?” “Banned.” “Rain Bar?” “So banned that I can’t even be on the block, sweet thing.” “How many places are you banned from?” “Thirteen. At least in Southern California,” he explains, you can tell he’s proud of it.
“Ed…why? Where are we gonna go to dinner?” you asked with a whine.
“Fuck dinner, let’s do something metal,” he says, like you know something metal, like you know the difference between a bass and an electric guitar.
“Like the planetarium?” you ask, it’s a joke and he laughs so hard into the speaker that you have to pull the phone away from your ear.
“Oh Stell, that’s so sick,” he says, “Fuckin’ love the planetarium.”
So you went, in disguise – baseball hats and sunglasses – dressed down. As dressed down as Eddie could be in his metalhead get up. No one called the paps, the science museum employees didn’t jump and squeal when they saw you, you got to just be. You held hands during the presentation, giggling and ‘Ooh’-ing at the projections, laughing when the little kids at the show would shriek and say little kid things to their parents. Eddie would cast glances at you, admiring your face in the blue light reflecting off the 360 screen, he wanted to keep the moment as a photograph in his brain that he could whip out whenever he wanted. You were so happy next to him.
You toured the rest of the place when the show was over, looking at all the telescopes, listening to the tour guides exhibits. Some parents nudged each other, and looked in your direction and as you left a little boy came over to tug at Eddie’s jacket.
“Are you Eddie Munson?” he asked, his front tooth missing.
“Yeah dude, what’s your name?” he said, squatting down to get on his level.
“I’m Chris,” he said, a big smile spreading over his face.
“Hey Chris, how old are you? You just lose a tooth? That’s pretty metal, man,” he smiled, flashing his straight white teeth at him.
“Six!” he said, holding up his hands to show him the number, “The tooth fairy came and everything. She gave me a quarter!”
“A quarter? That’s rad,” he said, fishing into his back pocket for his wallet, “You know something? She gave me another dollar this morning to give to you for having such a cool smile.”
“Chris, you can’t be running off like that,” a guy with bleach blonde hair that hit his chin with a battle vest on that rivaled Eddie’s was jogging up to the little boy, “You’re gonna be the death of me kid, who you talkin’ to?”
The man scooped Chris up, resting him on his arm above his hip, “Dad, it’s Eddie Munson!”
Eddie stood up and nodded to Chris’s dad, “Hey man.”
“Oh shit dude, hey,” he had the same smile as his son, just with all his teeth, “Big fan, holy shit.”
“Big fan of your little dude, here,” Eddie said, “The tooth fairy actually gave me a dollar this morning to give to him, if that’s cool.”
“That’s real cool of you man,” the man said, “Thanks for talkin’ to my boy, takin’ the time.”
“Don’t sweat it, what’s your name?”
“Phil,” the guy beamed.
“Have a sick day, Phil. See ya later, Chris.”
“See ya laterrrr!” Chris called out from over his dad’s shoulder while they walked toward their car. “You’re so good,” you say, nudging his arm, “You’re sweet.”
“Oh no, the jig is up,” he says dramatically, “Now you know how nice I am.” It’s so easy to roll your eyes at his antics, but you can never get yourself to commit to doing it. Your heart fluttered when he reached out to hold your hand to walk back to his car, his ‘84 Mustang SVO – all black. He was so predictable. “Wanna just drive around? I don’t wanna be done hanging out,” he said, opening your door for you. “You gonna drive like you did earlier?” your stomach flipping, remembering all of his fast turns and speeding.
“Nah, I’ll do it nice and slow for ya,” he winked, shutting the door behind you once you got your seatbelt on. “That’s how you like it, right?” he asked, bouncing into his seat. He loved the effect he had on you, watching your cheeks get hot when he got a little dirty. You hadn’t even kissed yet and it was driving him insane, he could barely contain himself when looked at your lips for too long. “Shut your mouth,” you teased, your heart hammering now at his implication. “You know what I’m gonna say,” he said, putting his arm behind your headrest to pull out of the parking lot. “‘Make me’?” you guess. “Okay, well now it’s not a fun hot joke because you actually guessed it,” he huffed, fake exasperation flowing out of him. Once you made it to the highway, he put his hand on your inner thigh intuitively. You were buzzing at his warm touch, his thumb grazing the fabric of your jeans. It was so inadvertent, the hold he had on you, he wasn’t even trying. He was just Eddie.
The sun had gone down while you drove through LA, pulling into a McDonald’s drive through when you both said you were hungry at the same time. “Ed, I can’t,” you said while he pulled into the line, the yellow of the lights outside tinging you both through the windshield. “Angel, you just finished a press tour,” he argued, “I know you haven’t eaten in weeks, get a fuckin’ Big Mac and live a little.” “If my trainer finds out –” “I’ll kick your trainer’s ass. Let me order you some fine cuisine,” he said matter of factly, the car dragging up to the speaker.
“Heyyy, can I get two Big Mac meals, one with no onions and extra pickles, and light ketchup, like whisper of it if you can. The other is fine as is,” he leans out of the window slightly, his shirt riding up showing off his tattoos. If you weren’t drooling over him knowing your exact Big Mac order after only hearing it one time two months ago, you were now. “Anything to drink?” “Uhhh, lemme get a – two diet cokes?” he said, “Actually, fuck that, one diet coke, one regular coke cause she’ll want a sip of the regular one. Medium.” “Anything else, sir?” “And uh,” he looked at the car behind you, two kids and a tired mom in the front seat, “I’ll cover whatever the people behind me are getting.” “Are you sure?” the speaker asked back. “Hundred percent,” he said, “That’s all, thanks.” “I’ll let you know your total at the window, sir,” the speaker said. You ate in the parking lot in the car, watching families and cars walk by – oblivious to the two of you. “Can I have a sip of your–” “Yeah, baby, have the rest,” he said, passing you his regular Coke and taking your diet Coke, popping it in his cup holder. “I don’t want the rest,” you say back, but you know it’s a lie and so does he, so he doesn’t bother fighting you over it.
You ended up back at his place, it was closer and the traffic on the way to yours was brutal. It was very much a rockstar mansion, black and chrome and red all over. Vaporwave elements and neon at every turn, it would’ve been more cool if you were less exhausted. He was jittery when you ended up in his room, like this wasn’t his intention, “Uh, do you want some pajamas or something?” “T-shirt works,” you assure, “Do I get to pick the band?” “Absolutely not,” he says with a shake of his head, “I’ll pick for you.” He rummages through his drawers, fishing out a Black Sabbath ‘75 concert tee and tossing it to you. You tiptoe to the master bathroom to change, stepping out anxiously in just his t-shirt and a pair of mismatched socks. He’s sat on his four poster, now just in his jeans and his t-shirt from earlier – wallet, belt, vest, and shoes discarded elsewhere. When you asked why the bed frame looked so industrial he told you not to worry about it, but the metal loops on the posts gave you a pretty clear idea. He bit his lip when he saw you come out, a vision in his t-shirt with your hair down, your glossy lips tight in an embarrassed smile. You folded your clothes and put them on the bedside table closest to you, climbing onto the bed and sliding against the cool satin to lay on your side. He crawled up the bed to lay across from you, half of your faces hidden by the pillows you were laying on.
“We can watch a movie or something,” he suggests, but your sleepy face steers him away from it. Eddie’s soft gaze lingers on you, a shaking finger skating down the side of your thigh, “We can just stay like this, too.”
He watches your eyes flutter closed and then look back to him through heavy lids, mumbling into the satin pillowcase, “I like this. Bein’ next to you.”
“Yeah?” he asked, his ribcage could’ve snapped open, “I like being next to you, too.” He skated his finger back up your thigh, his hand palming the flesh over your hips. Eddie toyed with the hem of his shirt on you, fingering the fabric between his fingers. It had been through the ringer too many times to be worn out in public anymore. It was a thousand times in the washing machine soft, but to him, it wasn’t softer than the skin under it. He saw it all peeking out through the holes in the sleeves and at the neckline – just falling apart. He was falling apart just the same.
“Can I um, can I get closer to you?” his voice sounded like he was back in eighth grade on Valentine’s Day, passing out carnations to the pretty girls and going home with none.
You don’t respond verbally, just shimmying your body over the black satin duvet and lazily swinging your leg over his hip. He let you pull his arm over your waist, his hand falling onto the mattress behind you while the crook of his arm laid snugly between your hips and your ribcage. He brings his hand to splay across your back, tracing shapes between your shoulder blades.
Your noses are just about touching and looking at each other is a little distorted but he still breathes out, almost a whisper, “You’re so pretty.”
“You keep saying that,” you laugh quietly.
“I don’t think I can stop saying it,” he says. It’s quiet and he can tell by the steadiness of your breathing that you’re maybe ten minutes away from falling asleep. America’s Sweetheart in his bed, in his t-shirt, a little angel on his black cloud of satin sheets.
Eddie let his teeth sink into his lip, nervous was an understatement. He filled the small gap between your noses, his eyes closing too, “I really like you, Stell.”
“Hmm,” your soft sleepy moan was comforting, the little smile tugging at your lips made his throat tighten. Maybe you’d only heard him in a dream.
“I really like you, Ed,” you half whisper, stretching your arms and legs and letting them crash back over him, “Big crush.”
“You got a crush on me?” he teased, blushing redder than the bouquet of roses he sent to Chrissy Cunningham for her birthday his Junior Year. Saved up his pay from the auto shop for a month to afford them only to forget to sign the card. Jason saved the day by saying he got them for her, instead.
“Oh yeah,” you smile, “Huge.”
“I have a big crush on you, too,” he pulls you close to him so your chests are touching. The scent of your perfume hitting him in the chest where the butterflies were begging to get out. Eddie takes his hand from your back to your thigh, gently hoisting it up to align your hips with his. He holds his breath when your arm snakes around him too, tied up like balloon strings – like you’d both float away.
“You’re warm,” you say, looking at his lips while the hand that was on your thigh meets your cheek. You can feel his heart hammering under his No Rest for the Wicked '88 Tour t-shirt, as soft as the one he put you in when you said you were getting tired.
“You’re…” his tongue felt too big for his mouth.
“Don’t say pretty, again,” you sleepily tease, “Say something else.”
“Ugh, ya got me, let’s see,” he chuckles, putting his forehead to yours, “You’re…I don’t know Stell, you’re so many things.”
“So…many…things?” you whisper, your lower lip tucking between your teeth.
“Ugh, that was dumb, I’m sorry,” he was embarrassed as soon as he said it, but your eyes perked up from their sleepy state when he did. That teasing glint in your eye that made him feel like a kid on the playground where he got picked first for Ringolevio teams. Hawkins Elementary’s best tagger, fastest runner – shame he didn’t go for the track team – just ran away instead.
“I promise, I’m smooth,” he laughed, letting the hand on your cheek slide further back, a little behind your neck so his thumb rested delicately on your jaw.
“You’re…” he didn’t want to say the love of his life, you’d only been on three dates. How would he even be sure of that? Sure, he felt sure of that, he already called you his wife to his favorite paparazzo – but did you feel sure? He didn’t want to scare you away.
He leaned his head back a little to look at you, your features only lit up by the soft glow of the white Christmas lights artfully hung from the ceiling. He hadn’t really outgrown the early twenties male experience of decorating poorly – at least an interior designer had put them up for him.
“You know at the planetarium when they just showed the stars at the beginning? And it sort of feels like you’re suspended in mid-air? Like, in space?” he asked. You nodded back at him, stifling a laugh building in your throat.
“And you can’t believe the whole galaxy is so big around you, but everything is so bright and so exciting and you know you want to go explore it? But it’s sort of scary, right? Cause y'know, you don’t know how much oxygen you have and god, fuck, I’ve never even been to space camp, I’d never get hired to NASA so –”
“You’re rambling, Munson,” your voice is gentle, and his nervous prattling quells when you raise a hand to rake comfortingly through his hair.
“You feel like that, Stell. Like the whole galaxy. You’rebright, and exciting, and funny and I wanna learn everything about you,” his voice is almost pleading, like he’s asking for an invitation to explore, “But y'know, it’s sort of scary 'cause you’re just so – you’re really it.”
“I’m scared, too,” you admit shakily, your hand matching his behind his neck, your thumb sliding over the barely there stubble on his jaw.
“What? You’re not scared of anything,” he said, searching your face with his big sweet eyes for an answer, “Why’re you scared?”
“'Cause,” you started, becoming a little breathless at his gaze, “No one’s ever looked at me the way you look at me.”
“What do you mean, sweetheart? Everyone’s always lookin’ at you,” he teased, “I’m just some guy.”
“No, Ed. You really look at me,” it made your heart race to admit it, “Like you’re seeing me, and I – no one ever sees me.”
He put his forehead back against yours, your faces back to being distorted and bug like, “Is this what you mean? Am I seeing you like this?” he laughed your noses squished together. Your giggle makes him overwhelmed like he can’t believe he can make you laugh, that you think he’s funny, that you think of him at all.
“You know what I mean,” you say, back to just breathing, nose to nose.
He nods in agreement against your forehead, his eyes closed for a moment while he breathes you in. Your perfume is still putting him in a tizzy, he’d buy you four billion bottles of it if it meant you’d smell like that forever. His heart is still hammering against your chest, you can feel a nervous film of sweat building on the back of his neck.
“I really wanna kiss you,” his words are barely audible, eyes still closed, his full lashes tickling his cheeks, “I’m tryna be good though, y'know. A gentleman.”
“Such a gentleman,” you whisper back slowly while his eyes flutter back open and closed again. You can feel his strong ringed hand press against the back of your neck, tilting your head up to meet him. Eddie brushes his lips to yours just barely, ghosting over skin at the corner of your mouth. Electricity was thrumming through him, his chest becoming the most metal drum solo he ever heard. Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her. C'mon Munson don’t be a wimp.
His lips found yours, gentle and timid, warm honey pooled in your stomach at the feeling. You could feel his body tremble while he went in again, his kiss getting more confident, the arm he hid under your pillows snaking out to cup a hand on your other cheek.
Eddie’s mind is just static and the feeling of your lips, the way your hips rocked against his, the softness of your skin. He could’ve guessed that this is how it would be, like he’s known the whole time what your lips would taste like on his. Like they were always meant to be there.
You break away to breathe, looking at him with a heaving chest and pinked tinged cheeks.
“Was that good? W-was that okay?” he asked, catching his own breath, the heat on his body radiating higher and higher.
“More than okay,” you gasp back. Your heart matched his in beating, fluttering wildly in your chest. More, more, more, more, more.
“Should we – can I do it again?” he asked, his caution rivaling when he lost his virginity in the back of his van in his senior year. Seventeen and stupid with an old pack of condoms he stole from the gas station.
You don’t answer, just roll your hips so he’s flat on his back on the mattress with your legs on either side of him. Heat burning in both of your stomachs at the change of position. Eddie can’t think to keep his hands to himself while one arm snakes around your waist and the other one holds your back so you stay pressed flat against him.
The rest is hot breath and teeth and tongue, Ed’s gentle hands brushing over his t-shirt on your body, snaking it under to stroke the skin of your back.
“You’re so soft,” he mumbles into your lips, “I’m scared I’m gonna hurt you.” He knows he means it in more than one way, he hopes you don’t notice.
“You don’t have to be gentle,” you say into the next kiss.
“I want to be gentle,” he says, pulling away, “I wanna show you how that feels.”
You blush at him remembering that you complained that other guys you’d been with had always been so stifiling. So focused on their own pleasure, on seeing America’s sweetheart with their dick in her mouth, on showing you off. A trophy to be won, a PR stunt to be had, a body to be masturbated into. No one ever took their time, no one ever even bothered to ask.
You thought he wasn’t listening the first time you had dinner, but he was focused on tucking away every single word you said so he’d never forget it.
“At least until next time,” he smirked, “’M sure I’ll find some other things to show you.”
“Oh, so there’s gonna be a next time?” you tease, sliding your hands from his face to his hair.
“If you’ll have me,” he shrugged, his voice getting playful, “I’d love to be considered.”
“I’ll definitely consider it,” you smiled, sharing a breath with each other before your mouth reaches for him. You let your hips slide over the ever growing bulge in his jeans, savoring the friction against the heat between your legs. A little gasp popping out at the feeling of his hands quickly gripping your hips to steady them.
“Eaassyy,” he hissed out, holding back a breathy groan, “Go slow.”
“I think it would be more fun if you didn’t have these on,” you giggled, sitting up and back on the tops of his thighs, tugging at his belt loops.
“Stella,” his voice comes out with an exasperated edge, “I didn’t – I don’t want you to think that this is the why I invited you back here.”
“I know, Ed,” you said, “It’s okay.”
“Like I didn’t want to just bring you home and take you to bed, y'know? It was just gonna be a long drive back to yours.”
“Eddie, stop, I don’t think you had a master plan or anything,” you put your hands on his chest, your hair falling forward over your own. You looked at each other for a beat, both of you mulling it over.
“If they come off it’s like…that’s it,” he laughs, putting the heels of his hands over his eyes.
“I can’t believe I just told Stella Rink not to grind too fast on my dick,” he scolds himself with a cheesy grin, “Every man in America would literally die to be me right now.”
“Y'know I have a really big following in Budapest, too,” you laugh back, “If you’d believe it.”
He sits up to meet you with a kiss, “I believe it.”
“I think I’m the first girl you’ve ever told to slow down,” his heart pangs a little when you say it. You are the first girl he’s ever told to slow down.
“Not every day I have Andromeda in bed with me,” he mutters, maneuvering you off of him while pulling at his belt. He gets off the bed to peel his jeans off, standing there in his black boxer briefs, a sheen in the fabric glinting in the low light. His pulse throbs in his throat while he takes his shirt off, anxious if you’ll still like him without any clothes. He was running a little thinner these days, coming back from a particularly rough time with some friends in low places – he didn’t tell you how long he’d been clean. He didn’t tell you anything at all. You sat on your knees on the mattress, satin sheets sliding under you, taking him in. Every inked tattoo flashing harsh against his fair skin, the hair on his stomach trailing down behind black nylon. The veins on his arms protruded down to his hands where his rings sparkled. His soft pink lips slightly parted while he reached up to shake his frizzed curls out. “Wow,” your eyes are glassy and round while you look at him, your body pins and needles as he steps to the edge of the bed. Eddie pulls you in, sucking in your bottom lip before trailing kisses down your jaw. You hiss when he gets the base of your neck, your knees parting under you. “Right there?” he asked into your skin, his tongue slipping over that spot again. You can feel his confident smirk against your collar bone. “Mhm,” you whine, “R-right there.” Eddie tugs the neckline of the shirt to the side to leave soft kisses on your shoulder, the other hand smoothing over the curve of your waist. “You can take it off,” you blurt out. He pulls away from your shoulder, looking at you like you just told him he was playing Madison Square Garden for the first time. “Your shirt? My shirt?” he asked, his voice cracking, “I mean, the shirt you’re wearing?” He swallowed hard when you nodded and reached for the hem, gathering the worn fabric up over your arms. Your hair flounced back down, messy but somehow still in place. He kept the shirt in his hands while he looked at you, holding his breath. “Ed, you’re…” you suddenly felt self-conscious, his eyes lingering too long to just see your body. His gaze was pouring into you, “You’re giving me that look again.” He blinked and shook his head, letting out a sharp exhale through the mouth, “Baby, you’re  – you’re perfect.”
“No one’s perfect, Ed,” you blush, your whole body burning. “No, no, I think you’re being modest,” he says, gently guiding you to lay back on the bed again. The shirt you were wearing had been forgotten, discarded on the floor. He placed himself between your legs, taking one of your arms to kiss just above your wrist, the crook of your arm, your bicep – he took his time, flicking his gaze down to you with each one. He put your arm down, caging you in with each of his arms on the side of you, leaning down to kiss the top of your chest. Sloppy and wet, leaving spit in their wake, his hair tickling over your breasts.
Eddie couldn’t hold back a moan when he let his tongue slide between them, a hand reaching to softly massage one. Your whine made his eyes roll back when the rough pad of his thumb slid over your nipple, back and forth, watching the other one peak in time. His lips lingered over it, looking at you almost to ask if it was okay, you nodded feverishly. His tongue swirled and flitted over the nub of skin, smiling as he heard your first quiet ‘oh god’ fall from your mouth. He’d soothed you while you squirmed underneath him, moving from your breasts to your sternum, down to your stomach, your pelvis. Eddie’s tongue and lips only stopping to whisper soft little nothings into your skin like ‘you’re so perfect,’ and ‘be patient, baby’.
He got to your underwear and paused, on his knees on the mattress between your legs. Eddie let his hand run over your thigh, dipping his fingertips down to the soft inside flesh. You shivered.
“Is it okay if these come off?” he asked, fingers exploring from your thigh to the tops of your panties.
“Yeah, yeah, it’s okay,” you turn red at the question, no one had ever asked you that before. You were never really given so much choice. He was slow about sliding them off your body, watching them flow down your thighs and calves at the guide of his hands. Once they were making friends with your discarded t-shirt on the floor, he looked back up at you.
You cross your legs, nervous and excited for what he might do next. It felt good to not know, to let him take the lead. He touched you exactly how you liked to be touched, like he’d been studying it for years. You watched him make a mental note of every little gasp or whine you let out, every involuntary shiver.
His hands wrapped around your ankles, uncrossing your legs and putting them back on either side of him. He hoisted your legs up from under your knees, slowly parting the limbs until they were splayed out like butterfly wings. Childlike excitement bubbling in his chest, opening the biggest present from under the tree. There you were, your puffed up lips parting just slightly, the sticky sound of them separating over slickness whispering in the room.
“Jesus Christ,” he whispers, a pot of honey to a bear, he’d never had so much restraint in his life, “Fucking beautiful.”
You blush, you don’t know if you’ve stopped blushing, your hands immediately going up to cover your face. You feel his finger trace over the manicured patch of hair between your legs. “I’m sorry, I didn’t wax,” you mumbled behind your palms, “I didn’t think we were gonna…I didn’t think you were gonna see it tonight.” “Sorry you didn’t wax?” he asked, your eyes peeking out through your fingers. He’s grinning down at you, his eyebrows quirk, he can’t believe you’d apologize, “I’m a grown man, Stell.”
“Let me see your face,” he said, “Wanna watch you, watch me.” “You’re so bad,” he sees your smirk while you say it, your hands coming down flop next to your head. “What? I like an audience,” he shrugged with a wink, pressing a kiss to the inside of your knee. His salivary glands are working double time while your hips move slowly underneath him. Eddie lets out a soft hum when your thighs twitch, his lips pressing more sloppy kisses against the soft and plush flesh. You can feel his breath at the crease of your leg to your groin, biting your lower lip while a soft desperate mewl shoots out of you. “I’ll get there, I’ll get there,” he teases, his eyes flicking up to meet yours, “I take it I don’t have to ask if this is okay?” “It’s so okay, Ed,” you huff, propping yourself up on your elbows to watch him down the slope of your body. Eddie’s flat on the mattress on his stomach, propped up on his own elbows so he can push your thighs back and out. The guitar pick on his necklace dangling dangerously close to your entrance. He lets his tongue stripe up one lip, a huff of breath left at the top, your hips jumping at the feeling. He’s slow, licking up the other, ducking out of your hand reaching out to put his face between your legs. “So impatient,” he chides, “No wonder your assistant thinks you’re a nightmare.”
You let out a laugh, your head falling back and exposing your neck – he thinks he might love you like this. You might be the person he loves the most.
Eddie waits for you to look back down at him before giving in to you. You could’ve sworn those big brown eyes were magnetic with the way your gaze snapped to his. He kissed the fleshy part of your thigh again before finally sliding his tongue in a flat stripe between your folds, lingering over your clit but not touching it.
The gasp you let out made his head swim, ‘more of that’ he thought. His tongue flicked over your clit just once, your thighs twitching again, desperate. Tears wet your eyes as the anticipation built in your stomach, your chest feeling hot. “Please more,” you whined out, it came out a little more pathetic than you hoped, “Don’t tease, s’not fair.”
“Sorry, angel,” he smirks up at you, cockines falling into his voice, “Not polite to play with your food, huh?” You shook your head no, your mouth falling open at his tongue going back to work. Soft and slithery, you could feel him exploring you, dipping inside you to drag your fluids up and around while you just got wetter beneath him.
“Oh that’s – that feels so good,” you drawl out, his lips suctioned loosely over the bud of your clit switching agonizingly between sucking and licking, fluttering and vibrating while your walls clenched around nothing. “Can I use my fingers?” he asks, fingertips trailing your inner thigh, “Make you feel even better.” “Yes,” you rasp out, shaking on your elbows, knowing you weren’t going to last much longer. With his tongue still working your clit, you barely register his ringed finger teasing your opening until the first thick knuckle presses past your walls. “Oh fuck,” you hiss through gritted teeth. He wasn’t looking up at you anymore, eyes closing while his finger disappeared into your entirely, curving upwards to toy with your g-spot. He was completely in his own world where it was just him and your pussy, the sound of your moans, and the way your hips bucked against his unrelenting mouth and fingers.
“‘M gonna cum,” you pant while his ring finger meets his middle finger inside of you, stretching you out. You can’t believe how full you feel from just the two of them alone. “Oh baby, I know,” he breathes against your thigh, “I want you to.” “Wanna cum – ooh! mmm – with you inside me,” you beg him. He’s suddenly stupid after hearing your admission - with you inside me, with you inside me, with you inside me - ringing in his ears on a loop. His fingers slide slowly out of you and go to the mattress where he presses himself back up onto his knees. “You’re sure you want to? I know we’re in the moment,” he said, sliding his hands comfortingly up and down the sides of your thighs, “I don’t want you to feel like that’s what I want, so you have to.” “I want to,” you say, breathless and empty feeling, “I want you.” He maneuvers you, propping all the pillows up nice and fluffy and placing you over them, just your lower half down on the mattress. The rest of you on a mine of goose down feathers and black satin. Eddie’s next kiss is deep and wanting, hands immediately cupping your cheek and wrapping around the back of your neck. Your hands find his boxer briefs and he swats them away while breaking the kiss, “Again with the impatience Stell, your assistant must hate you.” Even his mischievous smile is endearing while he teases you, hopping quickly off the bed and sliding his underwear off. You can’t help the bulge in your eyes when you see it for everything it is – and its fucking big. “Yeah, yeah, the rumors are true, whatever,” he says, waving his hand dismissively. If there was anything you knew about Eddie before you met him was that every tabloid rag in America would have an exposé from an ex girlfriend or lover that said something along the lines of ‘Awful guy, huge dick.’
“Oh-kay big shot,” you tease back, while he climbs back on the bed between your legs, “Reel it in there.” He hits that spot on your neck again with his tongue and your back immediately arches, a soft and satisfied purr coming from his chest. He pulls at your hips, dragging you further down the mattress, the tops of your thighs kissing your chest. “You ready?” he asks while guiding the swollen tip of his cock to just outside your entrance. “Are you?” you ask gently. “Very,” he says, stroking himself long and slow, “I know you’re gonna feel as good as you taste.” The sentence comes out of him primarily and gutturally. Your walls flutter while he shifts closer, just the soft skin of the tip pushing into you at first. You watch his face as he pushes in slowly, his mouth hanging open with a huff, his head tilting forward on a hinge.
“God, fuck,” Eddie huffed into your hair while falling down against your chest, pushing into you to the hilt. He laces fingers with yours, pressing your hands into the mattress while he thrusts again, “Feel’s so fucking good, sweet thing.”
“Pussy like fucking velvet, Jesus,” his words coming between ragged breaths, whining, The grinding of his hips finding a slow and steady rhythm inside you.
You could barely talk, just choked gasps and breathy moans pouring out of your mouth while he rocked into you, your body barely accommodating his size. White blinding your eyes while the curve of his cock met the edge of the sensitive spongey button inside of you, over and over.
“Ooh, don’t stop, don’t stop, don’t stop,” the words peppered out of you desperately, your hips rolling in time with his slow thrusts. Your sweat blending between your chests, leaving no space between you, “Just like that, Eddie.”
His face slacks, his brain nearly turning off at the sound of you moaning his name, coming back to reality quickly while his lips find your neck. He lets go of one of your hands to prop himself on a forearm, looking down at you, stealing a kiss as you moan into his mouth.
“Does that feel good?” he asks, a question he normally says with a mocking confidence when he’s backstage making groupies scream into his dressing room couch. Tonight it’s genuine and soft because he actually wants to know. Is he making you feel good? Do you feel what you’re doing to him? Can you tell he’s falling in love with you?
“It feels…huhn…it feels,” your breathy gasps answer for you.
“Don’t hate me for saying it sweetheart,” he starts with a smirk, leaning down to kiss your cheek, “But you’re so pretty like this.” “God, can I be anything else?” you giggle, a little moan squeaking out while his thrusts quicken. “You could um,” he gulped and swallowed, slowing down his pace to a stop, still staying inside you, “You could be my girl? If you want?”
You don’t reply at first and you can feel an embarrassed heat flash through his body. His mouth starts and doesn’t stop, barely breathing between words, “Totally get it if you just wanna keep hangin’ out though. If you hate labels, I hate labels – right, baby?  Y’know, I wasn’t planning on asking under these circumstances – was gonna maybe ask on our next date. Not that I’m assuming there would’ve been a fourth date but like, I figured maybe you might want to see me again. I definitely would’ve wanted to see you again. Thinking about it now, literally five seconds later, I probably should’ve waited. Holy shit, I’m such an asshole – who does that? Who asks that while they’re fucking? I mean Jesus Christ, talk about manipul –” “Hey,” you say, putting your pointer and middle finger on the center of his lips, “You’re rambling again.” You lean up to meet him, taking your fingers away and replacing them with your lips. He involuntarily starts his rhythm again, sliding in and out of you with ease, feeling your heels bounce against his lower back. You quietly look at each other and your breath hitches, not just from how good he feels inside you, but from that look. You might love him, you might be falling in love with him. You might be so terrified of him that you can’t breathe, that you can’t think straight. Maybe he’s the best of the worst guys you could be with – or maybe he was the best of the best. Maybe you’re being fooled by his messy hair and big brown eyes, the dimples in his cheeks when he smiles at you. A charming little scorpion that’s waiting for you to give him a ride on your back across the river. Maybe he’s just like the snake tattooed down the right side of his ribs. “Sorry, ‘m just nervous,” he said, “You make me so nervous Stell. I feel like a fuckin’ teenager when you’re around.”
Nevermind. He’s an angel. He buries his face in your neck, returning to his steady pace. You weren’t expecting him to be so vocal this way, grunting and moaning while he fucked you. You’d expected mean taunting words, you expected him to mock you, to make you tell him how good he makes you feel. To be honest, as hot as it was to hear him in your ear while he pleasured you, you sort of wanted to know more about the authentic Eddie Munson sexperience.
Eddie pushed off you and on his haunches, angling your hips further back with his hands on the backs of your thighs. A high moan peeled through you when he pushed into you again, hitting every spot he could with his cock, he felt it too. Your moan reverberated back to you, bouncing off the walls and the ceiling, ringing in both of your heads. He was fucking you slow, but still managing to fuck you dumb. “Feels so good inside me, daddy,” you whimper out, not even knowing where that name came from. You’ve never called a man that in bed before. Eddie’s voice and eyes darken, his little devilish smirk passing across his face,  “Careful with that name, baby. Don’t want him to come out too soon. Daddy isn’t nice like me.” You turn bright red but you aren’t sure if it’s from embarrassment or because you desperately want to know how not nice he can get, “I never say that, oh my God.” “That’s okay,” he said, hips finding a quicker rhythm now that he knows where you’re at, “You can meet him next time, yeah?” “Yeah,” you whine out, your voice getting small. “You want it a little harder?” he asks, gentle, gentle, gentle. “Mhm,” you say, eyes glassy up at him. He knows you’re at his mercy now, fucked silly, needy for it. He wants to slide into his regular routine – flip you over and pound you out with your ass up in the air, begging and crying for more. But no. You’re different, he wants to see you cum, he wants to see you love it. He wants to watch you love what he does to you. Eddie keeps his hands on the backs of your thighs, his thrusts getting harder and faster. Your head immediately pushes back into the pillows under you, barely able to contain yourself at the feeling. “Ah fuck, I’m close,” he hisses through heavy breaths, sweat sliding down his face from under his hair. You can hear the clap of his balls and hips against your ass, feel the grip on your thighs, the sound of his ragged chest. The euphoric slide of his cock slamming into you, pace getting erratic as he got closer to the edge. You’d been teetering on your orgasm since he pulled his fingers out of you, riding the coast of it while he made love to you. The coil tight in your belly close to snapping as he looks down at you, hungry and loving – that look. That look. He leans back down against you, knowing you need a little extra coercion to make it over the edge. Eddie’s hair tickles your chest while he gets back to the base of your neck, right at your favorite spot, his teeth drag gently over it. “Oh!” you cry out while he sucks up part of the skin, his tongue swirling, teeth gently coming down on it. The coil snaps, sending you reeling – you don’t know if your loud ‘Oh, God!’ is you moaning his name or not, but he’s moaning yours in your ear.
“That’s it Stell, cum for me. So good f’me, baby, so good…” You can feel hot ropes of his cum being let out inside you, warming you up from the inside out. He stays inside while you both come down, covered in sweat, heaving breathing into each other.
Eddie brings his head up, heart pounding like it was before he kissed you, and rests it gently against your forehead. He nuzzles your nose against his, coming in for a soft kiss. His voice when he speaks is small and innocent, almost boyish: “Can I keep you?”
You nod against his forehead, both of your eyes closed. He wraps his arms around you while rolling off to the side, spooning up behind you. He wants to scream at your nod, to do a victory lap, to call Wayne and tell him that he’s dating the biggest movie star of the early 90s. “Wanna be your girl, Munson,” you say sleepily, snuggling back into him. “You are my girl, Rink,” he murmurs, sleep sneaking into his voice, too, “Gonna be my wife one day.”  “Gonna be your wife,” you repeat back. “Gonna be my wife,” he says again, with a soft kiss on your shoulder. The glow of the room comes back to you when you open your eyes, you know you should get out of bed and clean up – and you will. But for right now, this is nice. To be held by a maybe scorpion on a ride across the river, the sweetest boy you ever met who is banned from 13 restaurants in southern California, an angel with horns under his halo. Your boy. His girl. Gonna be his wife one day.

summary - you and harry are left alone just before Christmas
pairing: uni!harry x uni!reader (UNIverse)
word count: +1.3k
‘It was a week before Christmas and you were still at uni.
Your mum couldn't find the time to get off work and come collect you yet and you didn't want to catch a train due to how much stuff you'd have to carry back with you.
So here you were, still at university. Rob, Mikey, Sophia and Alanna had already all gone home. Harry's excuse was that his mum didn't have time to collect him either, too, but everyone knew that was such a lie and that he really just wanted to spend time with you. Plus, he didn't want you to be all alone in a flat this close to Christmas.
The week had gone by fast, you and Harry having spent every day together doing different activities.
"That's cheating!" You gasped, watching as Harry moved the ball with his golf club rather than hitting it.
"That's cheating!" You gasped, watching as Harry moved the ball with his golf club rather than hitting it.
"No it's not. You clearly don't know the rules of crazy golf, Y/N." He had replied, watching as his golf ball went in the hole perfectly.
"Are you gaslighting me?" You said with fake hurt.
Harry had decided on mini-golf, it having started with a bet that he could beat you at it. Harry played professional golf every so often with his dad and friends, but little did he know that mini-golf was where you thrived. You were a master at it, having played so much with your mum at the arcades on a weekend.
He quickly figured out that you were actually very good and was now resorting to cheating methods in order to win.
"If you have to ask then maybe you don't deserve to win." He raised his eyebrows playfully, taking the ball out of the hole.
"You're such a dick." You pouted, before lining yourself up to take your final swings.
You ended up winning and Harry was so sore over his loss that he watched mini-golfing videos later on that evening so he was better prepared for next time.
Another day, you'd been to the planetarium.
The stars up in space circled above your head and you watched as an asteroid or a satellite would pass by.
You were both laying down next to each other on the beanbag, so close yet still with some space in between. The room wasn't too cold but they'd still offered blankets, which you and Harry were now snuggled underneath.
"How many stars do you think there are out there?" You asked him, barely at a whisper since the room was very quiet apart from some celestial music playing.
"Billions of trillions." He replied.
"And we account for one of them. Makes you feel insignificant doesn't it?" You turned away from the screen above and over to look at Harry, his head tilting to see you too.
"Nothing about you is insignificant, Y/N." He replied, reaching for your hand beneath the blanket and interlocking his fingers with yours. His hand was warmth against yours and you couldn't help but overtly smile at the homely feeling of his skin against yours - his hand held in yours.
You'd especially liked the trip you two took to the Christmas market.
Harry passed you your hot chocolate that he'd just bought for the two of you. His was a mint-Aero hot chocolate and yours was an Oreo hot chocolate.
He took a sip and you looked at him expectantly, "Good?" You asked.
"Mm."
"Thank you for this." You motioned towards the cup of hot chocolate. It was very kind of him to have bought it for you, considering he too was a broke student with little pennies left.
"Y'can buy me a cinnamon roll later." He nudged you.
"How about we share?" You counter offered, knowing the food here would cost half a days wages.
"Even better."
As you were walking around, taking in all the warm coloured lights hanging off various stall, you couldn't help but feel more at home here with Harry than you had ever felt before. He, in your mind, had progressed beyond a friend level but you had no idea whether you could tell him that without ruining everything.
The hand holding from the other day played on your mind so often. Your hand had never felt so cold and alone since he had dropped your hand after the Planetarium.
Until now, when he reached for your hand again. His hand slipped perfectly into yours again and you smiled all over again, it feeling like a silly high-school crush. Your cheeks burnt as hot as the fire where people were roasting their marshmallows. He even gave your hand a squeeze that time, guiding you around the Christmas market so you didn't miss a single stall or a single twinkling light.
Now, sat in your bedroom after face-timing your mum you heard Harry knocking on your bedroom door.
You got out of bed and opened the door for him.
“Hey.” You smiled.
“Hi.” He smiled back, looking nervous.
“You alright?”
He unfroze himself and answered rushed, “Um, yeah. Uh, this is for you.” He handed you a red envelope that looked like a Christmas card.
“Can I open it now?” You asked and he nodded.
You let go of the door to open the card and Harry kept it open for you, needing to watch your reaction as you opened up the contents of it. His heart started to race at the thought of screwing everything up within the next minute of his life.
You pulled out the card and your lips parted as you looked at the design of the card. There was a beautiful watercolour picture of some mistletoe and then underneath, written in pretty calligraphy, was the phrase;  ‘For the one I want this Christmas’.
“Harry...”
“Just read the card, please.” He shushed you, needing you to read the inside of the card too.
You nodded and opened the card to see some mistletoe inside. You eyes welled up a little as you took in his words on the inside of the card. It was hard to believe that this moment was happening and that it was happening to you.
Dear Y/N,
Merry Christmas.
It’s the one time of year we justify kissing someone just because of a plant on the ceiling. You’re my kiss under the mistletoe (consent permitted of course).
Yours, Harry xx
You looked up at Harry and saw that he had a small, timid, smile adorning his face. He raised his eyebrows expectantly and you didn’t have to say anything, the small nod of your head and few trickling tears was enough for the both of you to understand that you wanted him under the mistletoe too.
“Hold that up then please.” Harry laughed, pointing towards the mistletoe he’d put inside the card.
“I’m not tall enough to hold it above you.” You sniffled some tears away.
“Stop making excuses. Just c’mere and let me kiss you.” He pulled you in by your waist, holding the mistletoe up in the process.
Before you knew it his lips were on yours. Your stomach burst with a billion trillion sparks, burning up just like all the stars in space. Your hands slowly made their way up to his cheeks, to direct the kiss more. He hummed into the kiss and moved his lips so softly against yours, but left bruises in their wake.
He pulled away all too soon, wanting to have a look at you before continuing.
“If it wasn’t obvious already, I really fucking like you and I hope you feel the same way too. This isn’t just a mistletoe kiss for me.” He admitted and you smiled so brightly, because you felt exactly the same way.
“Nor me. I, just.. I’m new to all this, though.” You reminded him that he had just been your first kiss and he would be the first person you’ve dated. As much as that scared you, it excited you so much more. You were absolutely ready to be with Harry.
“That’s okay. We’ll take it slow, okay? We’ll go at our own pace.”
“But I still get to kiss you, right?”
He cutely laughed at you, stroking a thumb over your blush-filled cheeks. “Yes, ‘course you can kiss me.”
All you could think of after that was, thank God for mistletoe.

The Prank
Belphegor
I should have known better. I really should have. I mean, it was weird that no one stopped me as I went to the planetarium, and it was outright bizarre that none of my brothers barged in the room as I sat down in my favorite chair and got comfortable.
But then Mammon ruined everything when he screamed,
"Which one of you fuckers took my jacket?!" Sighing, I got up and walked out of the room to see what was going on. If I didn't, I would have been dragged out anyway.
"I don't know, but someone took my limited edition Ruri-chan bracelet, and I will literally kill you if you sold it!" Levi yells back.
"What makes you think I took it?!" I wish I could just disappear into thin air. I want no part in this.
"Because you always take my shit!"
"I bet he took my choker, too!" Asmo hollers. Whatever squabbling the three of them were going to do gets cut short by Lucifer loudly demanding everyone to head to the living room this very instant. Groaning, I do what I am told. As much as I don't want to be lectured, I know that if I try to hide, he will find me and force me to listen to him for hours on end. Better to get it over with now.
۞۞۞
"One of you has taken my nice pair of gloves," Lucifer states once we are all gathered around in the living room. "The punishment will be less severe if the thief fesses up now."
"I bet it was Mammon!" Asmo exclaims.
"It wasn't even me!" Mammon nearly shrieks, making me feel like my eardrums are going to burst. "Besides, has it occurred to any of you that my jacket's missing, too?"
"You probably hid it somewhere after you took the gloves so that you could distract us," Levi spits. Before Mammon has the opportunity to lunge at Levi, Satan interjects,
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but Mammon's right."
"Thank you!" Either Mammon's missed the resignation in Satan's voice, or he's simply latching onto the compliment.
"You may be a fool, but you've never been that stupid. Someone else must have stolen the gloves, along with everything else." Asmo gasps.
"I bet it was you, Satan!" A new round of arguments starts, and I begin zoning out.
Suddenly, I catch movement in my upper periphery. Shifting my attention towards the source, I have to stop myself from making noise. Leaning against the door frame behind everyone is MC, smirking at the scene unfolding in front of them.
The first thing I notice is my stuffed cow. MC has it tucked under their arm. Then, everything else clicks into place. The gloves, the jacket, the choker, and the bracelet. Beel's sunglasses are on top of their head, which means the boots they're wearing must be Satan's.
I can't even be mad at MC for plunging the House into chaos. After all, who would suspect the innocent lamb of doing such a thing? It's genius.
But now comes the hard part: getting my brothers' attention. They're sucked into their screaming match, so trying to talk would be pointless. Normally, I would nudge Beel, but he's unusually invested this time. I quickly glance around the room, but there isn't anything that I can bang that wouldn't break upon impact.
My eyes catch MC's, who repositions the cow so that both they and it are looking at me. MC then brings a stuffed hoof to its mouth and rocks its head slightly. It takes me a second to understand what MC was suggesting, but once I do, I subtly nod my head.
Bringing my own fingers to my mouth, I take a deep breath and let out a loud whistle that pierces through everyone's arguing. My brothers gawk at me for interrupting them, silently demanding an explanation.
"Turn around, assholes," I tell them. Once they do, the energy of the room shifts real quickly. Tucking the cow back under their arm, MC wiggles their fingers in greeting. This causes Levi to scream,
“AAAAAH! Wha…wha…WHA?! Is this really…are you really really…REALLY?!” MC smiles.
"MC, it's you!" Asmo adds. "It's really you!" Before the others can get a word in, Lucifer holds up a hand to silence us.
"MC, what are you doing here?" he asks. "More importantly, why do you have our stuff?"
"Solomon dropped me off," MC answers. "I wanted to surprise you guys. As for why I have your stuff..." They pause. "I just thought it would be fun to pull a prank. I never got to take part in any of that the last time." Lucifer sighs, a resigned smile on his lips. He is such a sucker for them. I mean, we all are, but him especially.
"Well, I'm glad to see that you seem to be doing well. I do wish you could have let us know you were coming. We would have planned something for you."
"The whole thing was last-minute. Plus, the whole point of a surprise is that you're not supposed to know about it in advance."
"Good point."
"If I'd known you were coming, MC, I would've opted for a much more thorough shower routine this morning!" Asmo exclaims, beaming with excitement.
"Gross," I mutter.
"You look just as exquisite as ever, Asmo," MC replies.
"Besides, you took long enough in the bathroom this morning," Satan adds. "Why you insist on using the main one when you have your own, I will never know."
"Are you going to be staying for a while?" I ask MC in an attempt to steer the conversation away from Asmo and his bathroom habits. They nod their head.
"Diavolo has requested my presence to help him with the next stage of the exchange program."
"Just you?" This has everyone's attention.
"The others are here as well." Seeing a few sets of eyes narrow, MC quickly adds,
"In the Devildom, I mean, not here in the House. They have Purgatory Hall, remember?" That seems to calm everyone down.
"So, MC, what do you want for dinner?" Beel asks.

Star-Crossed Myth Fluffbruary Fanfic (5th Feb): A Good Night's Sleep (Aigonorus/MC)
Title: A Good Night's Sleep
Fandom: Star-Crossed Myth
Genre: Fluff
Rating: T
Pairing: Aigonorus/MC (MC’s name left blank so you can fill it in with whatever you wish in your head)
Word Count: 560
Written for Prompt: Feb 5: rescue | inertia | lullaby @fluffbruary
February 5th: A Good Night’s Sleep (Aigonorus/MC)
Aigonorus frowned to himself as he checked the planetarium in the reflecting pool in the heavens when he had a brief few minutes alone to do so. ___ looked even more tired than she had when he’d picked her up from work the day before.
He sighed softly. If she wasn’t getting any sleep that worried him. As Tauxolouve came back into the room, he looked at the other. “‘M gonna go to the archives.”
“Everything alright?” Tauxolouve asked, somewhat surprised.
“... I don’t think ___’s getting any sleep. I should find a way to help…”
“You would worry about that,” Tauxolouve muttered teasingly, though he understood where he was coming from. “I’m not sure the archives is the best place to look for this though, unless you think there’s an outside issue causing it.”
Aigonorus sighed heavily. “I guess. What a pain. There must be something I can do…”
“Maybe try talking to Hue?” Tauxolouve suggested softly. “He has books on the Earth as well as the Heavens after all.”
“... ‘Kay,” Aigonorus reluctantly agreed. “I’m gonna head off then.”
Tauxolouve nodded. Whilst it wasn’t the end of their shift yet, this actually was more warning than he usually got from the other. He could tell that the other was troubled by this as he hadn’t had to wake the other today.
***
That evening, Aigonorus picked ___ up from the planetarium as per usual. He smiled softly at her as she headed over to him, though his eyes showed concern. “You’re tired.”
“I didn’t get any sleep last night, and not much the day before,” ___ admitted, leaning on him a little. “My mind’s been focussed on this event.”
“We should get you home,” Aigonorus muttered, holding her close and snapping his fingers before she could protest.
Once they were at her apartment, Aigonorus pulled her down onto the bed beside him and hugged her tightly.
___ went to say something, but then her eyes widened as Aigonorus started to sing a very old lullaby. She stifled a laugh.
Aigonrus cut off, frowning. “Am I doing something wrong? This can help people to sleep, right? It's not just children it works with?”
Laughing properly now, ___ wrapped her arms around him and returned his embrace before kissing him briefly. “I'm sorry. It's sweet of you to try. It's just… that's the wrong tune for those words… or the wrong words for that tune, depending on which you meant.”
“... Oh. Maybe I didn't fully understand what Hue meant then…”
___ smiled lovingly at him. “Or maybe you drifted off during the conversation. Especially considering you were talking about lullabies.”
Aigonorus sighed. “This was supposed to save you from another restless night.”
“Aigo,” ___ murmured softly and lovingly, “I don't need you to do anything to rescue me from that. You being here will be distraction enough. I take it you can stay tonight?”
“‘Course,” Aigonorus replied, now smiling brightly himself. “When's this event anyway?”
“... Tomorrow… so after that I'll have less on my mind.”
Aigonorus squeezed her gently. “You always worry too much.”
“I can't help it.”
“I know,” Aigonorus mumbled, holding her close. “It's always like this when you've got a lot on at work. But remember to lean on me…”
___ smiled and leant into the embrace, closing her eyes. “Thank you, Aigo. I love you.”
“I love you too.”

Memories of falling stars
Synonpsis: Lucifer, as he falls from grace, starts to remember and look back at his life in the Celestial Realm, as the always sunny sky behind him turns into a dark one full of stars.
A/N: This is another piece for another Lucifer collab ^-^. Lowkey the reason I haven't worked on anything else besides exams coming up
As old as the universe and nearly undying, stars are there to watch as everything unfolds. Humans, demons and even angels, have their lives seen by them, especially the Morningstar himself.
???? Years Before The Fall
"Do you see it, Lucifer? The stars, the constellations, everything the night sky has to offer!" The archangel was looking at him, eyes full of excitement.
"It would be hard not to, when you have been dragging me down to the human world to note down constellations for your planetarium." Pinching the bridge of his nose, Lucifer was trying to ignore his upcoming headache caused by the angel sitting right next to him.
For the past week, Michael has been dragging him down to the human in hopes of getting an image, as clear as possible, for the planetarium that he wanted to build in the Celestial Realm. The Celestial Realm had no nights or starry skies.
"You know, Luci, I am kind of jealous of your trips to Devildom in a way. That place has a constant sky full of stars that remain unbothered by the lights of the kingdom, unlike the human world." The archangel was gesturing vaguely around the empty hills. They were far from any human civilization. As far as the eye could see, there were only hills and forests.
"What did I say about that nickname?" Lucifer tried to give him an annoyed look but it went unnoticed by the other angel. "Also, if you're so jealous of my trips down to Devildom, maybe you shouldn't have pushed that responsibility on me."
Michael only hummed in response, too focused on looking up at the sky to pay any attention to Lucifer. "Such a shame that Orion, the hunter, is not visible in this period. Or, should I say, in this part of the human world."
He finally decided to turn his attention to Lucifer. "It wouldn't hurt to pay more attention to the sky in the Devildom on your next trip. Who knows, maybe I will also do a Devildom inspired planetarium." Lucifer just shook his head at the other angel's antics. "Maybe we should bring Raphael with us next time with us. We could go to the northern hemisphere to see Orion!" Michael said excitedly.
"I don't know how much will he appreciate getting dragged there to watch stars..." Lucifer pointed out what should be obvious.
"Perhaps, but even he can appreciate the story behind constellations. In particular the story of Canis Minor and Canis Major. They did make good hunting dogs for Orion, after all, and Orion never missed his target." Despite the smile on his face, Michael was surrounded by a dangerous aura, which put Lucifer off.
"Whether he agrees to it or not, we should probably head back to the Celestial Realm." Lucifer said, trying to put an end to whatever the archangel was doing. Whatever that feeling was, it sure was an untold warning for something in the future.
174 Years Before The Fall
Coming down to the human world was not something Lucifer had in mind, but he had to when all of his family kept on running away from their responsibilities.
"Look, I am telling ya, that's clearly Perseus! We have to look in that direction if we wanna see the meteor shower!" Mammon kept pointing out in the direction of the constellation, trying to prove his point.
"Could you be any louder? I know we are far from human civilization, but that's no excuse for yelling." Belphie argued back to his brothers. None of them could tell that Lucifer was just a few meters behind them and he didn't intend on revealing himself just yet.
"Besides, you're wrong. What you’re pointing at is the Andromeda constellation!! At least you got the direction of the Perseids close enough..." Belphie continued to argue.
"Now, now, guys, no need to keep on arguing, we came here to have a good time and watch the Perseids. So let's just sit back and enjoy ourselves" Lilith intervened, trying to calm her brothers down.
"Guys, I am starting to feel bad about leaving Lucifer behind. It doesn't feel right for all of us to be here while he’s still back in the Celestial Realm.." Beel looked in the direction of where they came down to Earth. If only he looked a little bit lower, he would be able to see Lucifer.
"I mean, it can't be helped. We ditched our responsibilities to come down here." Levi mumbled. "Even if he allowed us to put our chores for later, he’s still a seraphim! He’s way too busy to just come down to relax with us-"
"If all of you wanted to see the meteor shower so badly, you could’ve just told me from the start. I would’ve figured out something, so that all of us could’ve spent some time together." Lucifer interrupted Levi, finally deciding to come out of the shadows. It honestly hurt him a bit to hear how his younger brother talked about him. That he was far too busy to spend time with his younger siblings. Of course, he didn't express his feelings to any of them, especially when they were still screaming from being scared by his sudden appearance.
"How long have you been standing there?" They exclaimed, but he didn't really pay any mind to this question. Especially when he saw a Perseid from the corner of his eyes.
"For long enough. But now it's not the time to discuss all of this. The meteor shower is about to start." He sat down next to them on the grass, and pointed towards the Perseids that started to show up across the starry night.
All conversations ceased for the time being. They’ll have enough time to discuss things after the meteor shower had finished.
1 Day Before The Fall
I t was rare for rain to come down in the Celestial Realm, let alone one with lighting and thunder. And even if it did, it only happened in places outside of the grand palace. The storm caught everyone by surprise; angels were running left and right trying not to get their wings wet. They were all feeling rather uneasy with this sudden weather change. Everyone felt that something big was about to happen, but no one knew exactly when would this be or what would it be.
There were whispers and rumors about an angel that broke the rules, and was about to be severely punished, but everyone still felt like there was more to come.
Amidst the sea of angels that were seeking shelter from the rain or running to dry off their wings, it was all too easy to slip away from everyone without being noticed. Such was the case of Belphegor, who decided to sneak into the planetarium.
He would lie if he were to say that he couldn't sleep simply from the rain, but it's not like he could explain his feelings either. Lilith's judgment was about to come, and everyone hoped for the best.
Father surely wouldn’t harm her, right? Michael surely wouldn’t dare to lay a finger on her. Raphael wouldn't point his spear towards her… or maybe he would — he attacked angels for less. Every time he started to worry, he kept thinking about how Lucifer would not let anyone harm their younger sister. As long as their older brother was there to protect them and resolve this incident, nothing bad will happen… right?
He fell asleep at the thought of everything getting resolved, with the image of Lucifer talking some sense into everyone's heads. There was no need to worry, the Morning Star himself surely knows what to do. He couldn't wait until everything was over and everyone could go back to how things used to be.
Despite falling deeper and deeper into unconsciousness, he could still feel the presence of a certain angel, and how his 12 wings would drag on the floor as he put a blanket over him. The last thing he could remember was a hand brushing his hair away from his face. And so, two angels rested in the planetarium.
If both of them were to look at the planetarium’s ceiling right now, they would see Pavo, the peacock constellation. With the way the planetarium was moving, it shouldn't have been there, but from the moment Lucifer stepped into the room, and up until the moment he left, the constellation never left its place, up on the top of the planetarium’s ceiling.
The Fall
His wings were useless, all of them. What good was it to have six sets of wings, when at that moment they couldn't stop his fall. They couldn't carry on in his fight for his family, for his sister.
Since the moment he heard about Lilith's punishment, there was only noise. From the pleading of his younger brothers, to his screaming at his Father and the declaration of war, there was only noise. Weapons clashing, screaming and yelling about betrayals. He didn't even realize how much noise there was until everything went silent but somehow, that was still louder.
The only thing that he could feel was the pain all over his body, but it still didn't match his fury and his fear. Pure and genuine anger towards his Father, and fear for his brothers. He couldn't hear them and he couldn't see them. They were nowhere to be found.
The only thing that he could see was the vast sky changing its color. No longer was the bright blue sky with clouds as white as an angel's father surrounding him, but a dark sky full of shining stars. Stars that he recognized all to easy from his trips to the Devildom. Constellations such as Cruetum Sagitta, the bloody arrow, and Lapsus Bellator, the fallen warrior, were adorning the sky.
Bittersweet memories of helping Michael with his planetarium, star gazing with his brothers and spending time with his brother Belphegor under the starry night were flashing before his eyes. In that moment, he wished he didn’t know anything about the sky. It felt as if even the stars themselves were laughing at his and his family's fate.
He turned his attention back to searching for his siblings, even a glimpse of them was more than good, anything to know that they were at least alive. His wings were broken, and if it were up to him, he would rip them apart mid fall, but his eyes were still good, as along as he was still going he would continue to search for them. No reason to focus on things that were unnecessary at the moment.
At least, that's what he kept telling himself. He couldn't help but notice the way seven new stars appeared on the night sky. Each star for one of the angels that fell from grace that day. When did he even got so preoccupied with astronomy? He really spent too much time with Michael before the war.

Berlin (Netflix) - episode 2
Back at the scene of the crime/hotel, Berlin accosts Camille in the middle of the street, opening with a winner of a line, "I just got divorced." The woman needs to read The Gift Of Fear (as does anyone).
Tumblr media
Anyway, Berlin rambles on while Camille is stuck in movie cliche land and has to change her outfit in the back of a cab and with another passenger there. She does an amazing job though, so you go, Camille!
Special mention to his disagreeing with the woman calling him a misogynist because what would a woman know right?
Roi and Cameron teaming up to do something that they're going to fuck up so badly, and with such far-reaching consequences down the line that you start to wonder about the fate of the heist itself (it *is* a heist series after all).
Tumblr media
Berlin "rocks out" with his peers and it is good.
Tumblr media
This man obsessed with bowties - is this a callback?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Camille tells him "you look like a man who lives in hotels" like it's not an insult??
(side-note - the Opera swicheroo is reminiscent of the Planetarium bit in my latest fic - love that)
Aaaand after hijinx and small-scale mayhem, the Rio-Cameron team failed, which I love to see  <3
Keyla designing this whole VR tech - told ya this girl's a Deus Ex Machina but in a hot (imo) and horny body - in the mid 2010s and instead of, idk, selling it for a whole bunch of money and not doing criminal things?
Tumblr media
And I may not get how VR works but isn't her avatar just... milling about in that VR space? It felt like Roi could have interacted with her avatar if he wasn't stopped but how does that-- unless that's not her avatar and Keyla has a VR girlfriend that she gets freaky with when she's in hotels?
Okay so I took this note while watching the episode: "The only common sense thing that came out of this man's mouth" and I can't, for the life of me, identify what I was referring to on the rewatch - if anyone knows what common sense thing left that man's lips, please let me know!
Back in the land of Berlin and the woman he fell in love with via the medium of stalking, drama happens (who knew that she was even married?? They did; both of them knew) there's drama.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Berlin gets hit with his own version of "time will bring us back together one day". HOW DOES IT FEEL, HUH?? HOW??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Cool shot/transition though!)
And in her own corner, Keyla is following the old cliche of "nerd ingenue hot for the ~Bad Boy/himbo" and you know what? Shine on, you horny diamond!
Tumblr media
Wait, she's 36???????????????????????? (Presumably older than Berlin is in this? Lol okay) Love that she sees the age gap as a problem, Bruce IS a baby at 24.
Oh and since it's a heist movie, they set the scene for the heist, they're professional and successful which contrasts greatly with how they handle literally everything else (which they thoroughly fuck up).
Insert joke about Berlin's stamina:
Tumblr media
Oh and we still don't know why he's called Berlin. Everyone took fake names, but apparently they all went for people names, when Andres was like NO I WILL BE A CITY (or a pastry, whatever)

Friction Friendship
Paranormal Preteens AU: Episode Fourteen
A JSE Fanfic
As promised, here’s the second fic part for the week. Don’t expect this to happen a lot XD But be prepared to see these two AUs a lot this week as I inevitably reblog them both. Anyway. Onto the summary. The boys (and Stacy) don’t know how to deal with the planetarium situation, but they discuss it anyway. Without any real solutions, the next few days pass as Chase deals with personal drama and the twins ask the others to a birthday party. And then guess which shadowy entity shows up? :)c It’s not a lot of action this chapter but a lot of character building! Hope you enjoy that XD
++++++++++++++++++++
It was October, and that meant two things: a lot of school, and more importantly, Halloween. Chase had always loved the holiday. Not as much as Christmas, of course, but it was his second favorite. He remembered being really disappointed when his family first moved here and he found out that they didn’t trick-or-treat here like back in America. But he was a bit too old for that now. At least Mom still put up decorations and went costume shopping with him.
This year was going to be a bit different. For a couple different reasons. One was Schneep. Apparently he’d never celebrated Halloween before. “What?!” Chase had gasped when Schneep told him that. “They don’t have it in Germany?!”
“I think they do?” Schneep said, confused. “But it is not a big celebration that is all over.”
“Do you at least wear costumes?”
“I never have.”
“I can’t believe this.” Chase shook his head. “Don’t worry, Schneep, we’re gonna have the best Halloween ever this year.”
Another reason was the twins. Their birthday was actually on October 31st: the spooky day itself. That was probably why the two of them were already super excited. They were basically wearing orange and black all the time. Marvin could be seen wearing a black witch’s hat at school (which he had to take off during class) and JJ was frequently doodling little pumpkins in the corners of his notebook.
On Monday, Chase’s mom had a meeting after work, and couldn’t pick him and Schneep up from school. She called Jackie and asked if he could get them after classes were out, and maybe do some babysitting for a couple hours. Jackie’s own classes ended earlier than theirs, so he agreed. Chase decided that meant today was a good day for a meeting. He texted Marvin and JJ to ask if they could come over after school. They could. And... for the first time, Chase asked someone else.
“You want me to go over to your house after school?” Stacy repeated what he’d said, surprised.
“Yeah, I mean... you’re kinda in this,” Chase said. “We sometimes all meet up and talk about the, uh, you-know-what stuff. So I thought... yeah.”
Stacy frowned. She glanced around their classroom. Mr. Bartley had stepped out for a moment so everyone was taking the moment to talk to their friends while he wasn’t there to quiet them down. Half the students were out of their desks, including Chase, who’d walked over to talk to her. No one was paying attention. “I can’t tell my parents I’m going to a boy’s house!” she whisper-shouted.
“Well don’t tell them, then,” Chase said. “Right, Schneep?”
Schneep’s desk was still right next to Stacy’s, so he could hear everything. “Yes,” he agreed. “It may be hard, but it is better than missing out on things.”
“Yeah. They won’t even have to pick you up, Jackie can drive everyone.” It would be a bit crowded in the car with Stacy there, but probably fine.
“I... guess I could tell them I was going to hang out with Heather and Kat,” Stacy said slowly. “But no one else can know I went over to your house, okay?! I don’t want anyone to think I like like you.”
“Got it!” Chase gave her a thumbs up and quickly hurried back to his desk. He could see Bartley moving around through the bubbled glass window in the door. No doubt about to walk back in. He’d have to wait until after class to text JJ and Marvin.
The twins could come over, too, no problem. So after class let out, the kids all met at the school’s front doors, where Jackie was going to pick them up. They all piled into Jackie’s car and drove all the way to Chase’s house.
“Why is your house so big?!” Stacy said the moment she walked inside. “There’s only three of you!”
“I dunno, I guess we got lucky?” Chase shrugged.
Stacy glanced back and forth between him and Schneep. “Do you two have to share a room?”
“No,” Schneep said.
“Luckyyyyy. I have to share with Roxy, and she goes to bed super early so I can’t hang out in there before I go to sleep.”
“Nice decorations, Chase,” Jackie said, tapping a paper bat taped to the wall. “Did you make them?”
“Yep!” Chase grinned. “Mom and I showed Schneep how to do it! Look at that spider he made, it’s so cool! And he made that bat, too, to look like that stuffed animal he has.”
The twins were also examining the Halloween decorations. They were currently picking up the fake jack o’lanterns on the staircase to see how they worked. Marvin found the switch for one, and amused himself by turning the light on and off. Chase, are you going to carve pumpkins? JJ asked excitedly.
“Oh yeah! Definitely! We just need to find them. Mom says there aren’t any pumpkin patches anywhere nearby so we need to get them from the grocery store.”
Marvin and I never get to carve pumpkins, JJ complained. We ask every year and Dad always says it’s a waste because we’re going to throw them away right after Halloween.
“Well, maybe if we did it earlier, then we would have them out for longer,” Marvin muttered. “But no, he and Mam always ‘forget’ until a couple days before.”
And then they say that same thing about getting the pumpkins from the shop, JJ added. And that they’ll all be bought by then.
Stacy watched the sign language with a slight frown, trying to figure out what JJ was saying. Chase had seen her carrying around a book on BSL recently. It looked like it came from the library. Maybe that was why she hadn’t brought it today; she might have had to return it. “Uh... so are we gonna talk about this greenlight stuff and the planetarium and everything?” she asked hesitantly.
“Yeah, we haven’t really talked about the photos I took,” Jackie added. “They’re, uh... strange.”
“Alright, we can go sit down or something,” Chase said. “Uhhh let’s go.”
They all ended up in the living room, with Chase, Schneep, and Stacy on the sofa. Stacy was on the end next to Chase, sitting straight up and shifting awkwardly. The twins sat on the floor, leaning up against the TV stand, while Jackie took the armchair. His digital camera was in his hands, along with printed copies of the photos. He’d been prepared for this.
“So... Jameson and I still have not seen the planetarium basement,” Schneep said. “Was that crack there when you guys were?”
“Yeah! I got my foot stuck in it!” Stacy said.
“Oh shi—oh really?” Jackie asked. “Must not have been roped off at the time. Maybe that’s why they set up those barriers.” He looked down at the strangest photograph: the one that had been tinted green. “Did... while you guys were down there, did you feel like you were being watched?”
“I didn’t,” Chase said, and Stacy shook her head. “Uh... Marvin?”
Marvin was messing with the back of Chase’s TV remote. He looked up. “Huh? Oh, uh, no. Not until we heard those guys in the stairwell.”
We still don’t know anything about this mystery group, JJ mused. It’s been over two weeks. Nobody’s found anything out?
“If we did find something out, we would’ve talked together a lot sooner,” Chase said.
“We have been busy with homework and everything,” Schneep agreed. “But even if we were not, how? How are we supposed to learn anything about this group? We cannot spy on everyone in town, and we cannot go to the planetarium all the time. The group would notice us.”
“Y’know, I kept asking Mincy stuff about the planetarium staff,” Jackie said. “She says that all the senior employees are acting really weird. They’re being really hard on the other employees. A lot of people have quit because of that. She says she might soon, too. Maybe that’s what they want. They want everyone who doesn’t know about the basement to quit so they’re in total control.”
Are we going to DO anything about the basement, by the way? JJ asked.
“I mean... what?” Chase asked. “It’s not something we can fight. It’s a room. How do you defeat a room?”
“Take out the support pillars?” Marvin suggested.
“What?! Then the whole building might collapse!” Stacy gasped.
“Perhaps that crack in the floor has something to do with it,” Schneep said. “Jackie, can you show everyone the pictures?”
“Yeah, sure.” Jackie handed them to him, and Schneep began passing them out.
“We all notice the weird stripes in the carpet, yes?” Schneep asked, pointing them out on his own photo. “They all go to the crack in the floor eventually. Maybe if we seal up the crack then all the weird things will stop.”
“Okay, but how?” Marvin asked.
Cement? JJ suggested.
“How the fuck are we gonna get cement, JJ?”
JJ shrugged.
Marvin sighed. He looked down at the picture in his hands. “...wait a minute.” He stared at it. Schneep had handed him one of the crack in the ground. “I think... I’ve seen this before.”
“Yeah, when we were down there and I got my foot stuck,” Stacy said.
“No, before that. Jackie, can I see the weird green picture?”
“Uh... yeah.” Jackie handed it to him. “What’re you thinking, dude?”
Marvin brought the photo real close to his face. Then he held it out at arm’s length. He squinted, narrowing his eyes until his vision went a little blurry. “This was under the pool!” he gasped.
“Was?!” Schneep cried.
“Wait, really?!” Chase shouted.
“Yeah, I saw it when Jackie and I went down to fight the water monster. Its weird-ass body was sitting on top of a crack in the bottom of the pool, so I only saw it when the monster moved. But it was all black inside like this!”
“Whoa whoa whoa, wait.” Jackie’s eyes widened. “The pool—the water monster, it—did it cause the crack?”
Maybe! JJ said. Did anyone notice weird cracks anywhere else?
Everyone else shook their heads and muttered “no”s. “There has to be a connection,” Schneep said quietly. “Maybe, if we saw something else with this greenlight stuff... Has anyone heard of anything weird?”
“Ohhh there are weird things everywhere,” Marvin muttered. JJ looked at him, confused and concerned.
“A few months agoI you guys mentioned hearing stuff about the hospital and the secondary school,” Jackie recalled. “Maybe we should focus on those places. It shouldn’t be hard to poke around the school, since we’re there all the time.”
“Hey, are you guys coming to our birthday?” Marvin suddenly asked.
“Uh...” Chase blinked. “I don’t think you’ve mentioned it before. Are you guys having a party?”
“We’re having cake and presents on Halloween,” Marvin said. “But Mam always wants us to have a big party with lots of people. But we don’t really know anyone we’d want to invite before this, so we’ve never done it before, it’s always been our parents and our grandma. It’d be fine if you guys are busy or something, cause it’s Halloween, but I think you should come over to our house.” JJ stared at Marvin, even more speechless than usual, still with that expression of confused concern.
“Uhhh I don’t think we were gonna do much,” Chase said slowly. “I mean, I promised Schneep we’d have the best Halloween ever, cause he’d never celebrated it before. But a party sounds like it’s part of the best Halloween. So sure.”
Schneep nodded eagerly. “Yes! I have never been to someone else’s house before! Well, we went to Jackie’s for his birthday, and I have been to many relatives’ houses, but I mean for other children. Other kids. I want to see!”
“If you guys are including me in that, I’d love to go,” Jackie said. “My friends and I were planning on doing Halloween and Fawkes stuff on the first, anyway.”
Stacy looked nervous, chewing on her lip. “A boys’ party? What do boys do at parties?”
“I dunno,” Marvin said. “When we had Schneep’s party we just opened presents and had cake and did video games.”
“Well... sure. I-I’ll see if I can go,” Stacy said slowly. “But my parents might not let me. They might want to do family stuff together.”
“That’s fine,” Marvin said. “You’re fine.”
Silence fell. It lasted for a few seconds, but it felt much longer. “Well, uh, glad we’re doing that!” Chase said quickly. “Mom’s not gonna be home for a while! So, uh, what now?”
Jackie sighed. He put his camera in his hoodie pocket. “I don’t think we’ll get very far with the planetarium or mystery group stuff. Unless someone can figure out how to fight a basement or seal up a weird crack in the floor. But I don’t think we have any ideas.”
But speaking of birthdays, JJ said. Something happened Friday night. Hang on, this will be too much sign language for Stacy to understand. He pulled his notebook out of his shoulder bag and quickly wrote down what happened, explaining the brief encounter he and Marvin had with Anti. Then he handed the notebook to Stacy, who read it and then passed it around.
“I don’t like that,” Jackie muttered as he read what JJ wrote.
“Why would this Anti... person... wanna do that?” Stacy asked. “Is that something he normally does?”
“No, we don’t really see him that much,” Chase said. “I dunno why he’d show up to you guys if he wanted a happy birthday. Which is... weird. Cause like... does he have a birthday?”
“Everything has a birthday, because everything is created one day,” Schneep figured.
“Well... yeah, but... it’s still weird.” Chase shook his head. “I dunno. What are we supposed to do about this?”
“It’s hard to know what to do about Anti,” Jackie agreed. “He doesn’t show up that much. I’ve never even seen him. Can you, like, punch him or something?”
“Ha!” Marvin grinned. “I don’t think we’ve tried, but next time I see him, I’ll fucking deck him.”
Everyone smiled. “Anyway, uh... I think that’s everything we wanted to talk about,” Chase said. “D’you guys want to play something?”
“That’s not fair, I’ve never played a video game before!” Stacy protested. “Why do you guys get to do something but I can’t?”
“Wait... never?” Chase asked. Stacy shook her head. “Well we have to play something now so you can try. I mean, you don’t have to, cause Schneep never plays, but at least watch. What’s something easy?”
The next couple hours passed with Chase and the other guys showing Stacy some of their favorite games. She wasn’t all that good, but she was clearly enjoying herself. Chase’s mom arrived home soon, causing the hangout to break up as Stacy, Jackie, and the twins headed out, leaving Jack and Schneep alone to do their homework.
But Chase couldn’t concentrate. He couldn’t stop thinking about everything they had brought up. Anti, the mystery group, the planetarium, the cracks in the ground, the greenlight... What did it all mean?
++++++++++++++++++++
Chase was still distracted in school the next day. He didn’t pay attention at all during the first class. In fact, when the bell rang he couldn’t remember a single thing that just happened.
“Chase?” Schneep poked his shoulder. “Is everything alright?”
“Huh?” Chase shook his head. “Yeah, I was just... thinking about stuff.”
“What stuff?” Stacy asked, standing behind Schneep. “Like... the secret stuff?” she whispered.
He was, but he didn’t want to talk about that right now. “No, I was thinking about—about Chad,” Chase said. “Uh, he’s my friend.”
“That tall kid with curly brown hair?” Stacy asked. “You were hanging out with him a lot last year. But I haven’t seen him around you this year. Is that what you’re thinking about? What happened?”
“Uh... I don’t know,” Chase said honestly. “He just... hasn’t talked to me. At all. This year.”
Schneep’s brows furrowed. “That is rude.”
“I guess, but like, maybe he’s busy,” Chase defended. “I mean, it is bothering me. I want to know what happened or if I did something wrong or something.”
“Can’t you ask him about that?” Stacy asked.
Chase blinked. “What d’you mean?”
Stacy rolled her eyes. “Just ask him why he’s not talking to you.”
“But... he won’t talk to me in the first place,” Chase explained. He glanced at Schneep to see if he was seeing the obvious problem. But Schneep looked thoughtful. “Right? I can’t ask him if he won’t listen.”
“Well, then, Schneep and I will go with you,” Stacy said. “He can’t ignore you if there are people watching.”
“Ah! Yes, that is a great idea.” Schneep nodded eagerly. “We all have a lunch period together, so you can talk to Chad then.”
“But—but he won’t talk to me!” Chase repeated. Why didn’t either of them get it?
“But it’s better to try than not, right?” Stacy said.
“Yes, talking has always helped,” Schneep agreed.
Chase looked back and forth between the two of them. Then he sighed. They clearly weren’t going to leave this alone. “Alright. Fine. If we can find Chad at lunch we can talk to him.”
“You can talk to him,” Stacy repeated. “We’ll be there for support and nothing more.”
“Fine. Whatever.”
And so, that day in the cafeteria, Schneep dragged Chase over to the corner table where Stacy said she would meet them. She was already there, clutching a pink lunch box and waiting for them to approach. “Ready?”
“Yeah, sure,” Chase mumbled. He idly scanned the cafeteria. Every available spot was packed with round tables, and every available table was already packed with kids. “Uhhhh I don’t see Chad anywhere.”
“He usually sits near the middle, ja?” Schneep prompted.
He did, and Chase knew that, but he was trying to find an excuse to avoid this. Sure, he wanted to know why Chad hadn’t talked to him once in months, but he didn’t want to actually ask him about that. What if he didn’t like the reason? What if Chad didn’t want to be friends anymore? As long as Chase didn’t bring it up, he could pretend that nothing had changed and Chad was just being weird about it. But the moment he found out...
Stacy climbed onto the bench attached to the table, using it as a stool to see over the heads of the other students. “I see him,” she announced, and climbed back down. “C’mon.” She started weaving in between the tables. Chase hesitated. Then Schneep nudged him, and he had no choice but to follow Stacy.
Chad was sitting at a table with a bunch of other guys. Keith, Terry, Alex, Miguel—Chase recognized them all. They’d already gotten their lunches and were all laughing at something. Chase stopped walking. “Chase, for the sake of god,” Schneep muttered, just barely loud enough to be heard through cafeteria chatter.
“I can’t do this in front of a whole group of guys, Schneep,” Chase muttered back at the same volume.
“Well it looks like Stacy will not let you do it some other way,” Schneep pointed out. Stacy had noticed that Chase stopped and was now staring at him as she stood right next to Chad’s table. All the guys had noticed her and stopped laughing. They looked like they weren’t sure what to do about it.
Chase sighed. “God... dang it,” he whispered. He adjusted his blazer, took a deep breath, and kept walking. As he got close, he put a grin on his face and tried to relax. “Hey, Stacy,” he said as he got closer to her, as if he’d just met her randomly.
“Hi, Chase,” Stacy said, not smiling. Her eyes darted back to the group of guys.
“Oh hey, Chad,” Chase said. He managed to keep a casual tone despite the way his heart was pounding with nerves. Schneep walked up next to him, staying slightly behind.
“Hey, Chase!” Chad gasped. “Bro! I haven’t seen you since I got back from camp! I don’t think we have any classes together, that’s crazy. How’ve you been?”
Chase laughed. “Uh, yeah, I’ve been good, bro. I’ve, uh, been wanting to talk to you for a while.” He noticed the way Stacy stepped back but didn’t actually leave. Her eyes drilled holes into the side of his head.
“Oh shoot really?” Chad looked over at the rest of the guys. The four of them had started eating lunch, but they were paying attention. Chase knew because they were quiet. They would have started talking about something else if they really didn’t care. “About what?”
“I mean, uh...” Chase swallowed a lump in his throat. How was he supposed to phrase this? “I’ve, uh, seen you a couple of times in the hallway and stuff, and here at lunch, and you like... haven’t said anything. And I have your phone number, I called you a couple times. So I was just wondering... is there, like, something going on, or...?”
“Oh. Uh...” Chad stopped smiling. He leaned back, but didn’t stand up. “I mean... I dunno.”
“Right.” Chase nodded. “I mean... I just want to know. Cause like... if I did something wrong, I want to know... so I can stop doing the thing.”
“Yeah, uh... that makes sense.” Chad stopped talking. The silence stretched between them, somehow louder than the surrounding chatter. “I, uh, I’d love to hang out sometime,” Chad finally said. “If you’re, like... not busy.”
“I’m not that busy,” Chase said. True, he and the others had stuff to deal with. Like Anti and the planetarium and the mystery group. And school. But he’d drop all that if Chad wanted to do something. “I dunno if you thought I was, but I’m not busy.”
“No, I didn’t think that. I just wasn’t sure if...” Chad hesitated. “If you were gonna keep being all...”
“All... what?” Chase prompted.
“You know, like... being a bummer and stuff.” Chad looked embarrassed. It wasn’t clear if that was because he didn’t want to say it to Chase, or because he didn’t want to say it in front of other people.
Chase blinked. “What? What’re you talking about?”
“You know, like, all last term,” Chad continued. “You never wanted to do anything or talk about anything. And when we did stuff you just kinda... sat there. We went to the park to skate once and you just stayed on the bench the whole time. And if we got snacks you never ate what you got. Like, why’d you get it in the first place? It just... wasn’t all that fun.”
Chase could only stare at him. “My dad left.” His voice was completely flat.
“You talk to him on the phone and stuff, right?” Chad said. “And you still get presents for your birthday. It’s kinda like you get two parties, hah. And he can come back whenever he wants. It’s not like he’s gone forever.”
The silence continued to stretch. Chase continued to stare. This... couldn’t be real, could it? It had to be some sort of dream. It was too unbelievable. This wasn’t a real conversation. This wasn’t really Chad. It couldn’t be.
Someone coughed behind him. “Chase, we still need to get lunch,” Schneep said, grabbing Chase’s hand. “We should go right now.”
“Oh hey, you’re the new kid!” Chad said, eagerly changing the subject. “What’s your name again?”
“Henrik. I am Chase’s cousin.” Schneep’s voice was cold. Businesslike.
“Oh cool! I don’t think he’s ever mentioned you. But I’ve seen you around. You guys hang out with the Jacksons together, right?”
“Yes.” Schneep took a step back, pulling Chase’s arm. “Come on, Chase.”
“Yeah, we have stuff to do after you get your lunches,” Stacy jumped in. “C’mon.”
“...yeah.” Chase nodded. He took a step back. “Bye, Chad.”
“Uh... bye.” Chad looked a bit confused. But as Chase, Schneep, and Stacy walked away, he turned back to the other guys at the table and started talking again, the confusion instantly vanishing.
The three of them didn’t go to the line to get lunch. Instead, Schneep pulled Chase around the tables, out of the cafeteria, and a little way down the hall. It was empty out here. Most students were inside the cafeteria, and the ones skipping lunch were gone by now. The three of them were completely alone. “Is everything okay, Chase?” Schneep asked gently.
“I-I don’t know.” Chase’s voice was quiet. He couldn’t make himself talk louder.
“What a jerk!” Stacy put her hands on her hips.
“He’s not a jerk, he just doesn’t get it.” Chase stared absentmindedly at the lockers across the hall, not really seeing them.
“Well, he should want to get it, and he didn’t!” Stacy huffed. “I know you don’t like Heather, but at least she would try to understand! I mean, I don’t think she’d really... do anything about it...” She trailed off for a moment. Then shook her head and returned to righteous anger. “But this isn’t about Heather! It’s about that guy, and that guy’s a jerk!”
“Who would—who would say that to—to someone who looked—” Schneep struggled with the words. He suddenly cried out and shouted something in very angry German. Then kicked the base of a nearby locker.
That got a smile out of Chase. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so mad.”
“You deserve to be mad over!” Schneep shouted. “I should be mad when the bad things happen to you! And you should be mad, too!”
“It’s fine.” Chase let out a breath and leaned his head back against the wall. It hit a locker with a gentle thunk. “At least I know what it was all about now.”
“Yeah.” Stacy nodded sharply. “Now you can forget about him and move on.”
“Sure.” Chase didn’t think he would forget. But maybe he could move on. “I can’t believe the Jackson twins were better at... what they said when I told them about Dad...” he mumbled.
“Why wouldn’t they be?” Stacy narrowed her eyes.
“I dunno. I just...”
“Is it because they’re magic weirdos?” Stacy asked in a weirdly demanding tone.
“Bro, don’t call them that,” Chase said defensively.
“Omg, you called them that first!” Stacy gasped.
“I what? When?”
“When we were walking up that staircase from the weird basement beneath the planetarium! You said you hung out with magic weirdos!”
“Oh!” Chase suddenly remembered. “No, I didn’t mean it like that, I meant it like that’s what other people would say.”
“Yeah, and you said you didn’t want other people to say that about you! That you didn’t want to be called a weirdo, too!”
“Well I don’t.”
“Chase!” Schneep gaped at him.
“That came out mean, I didn’t mean that,” Chase said, turning to him. “Look, no one wants to be called names or insulted or anything.”
“You’re right, no one does!” Schneep agreed. “I don’t want to be! And yet, I have heard what other kids have said. You know, Chase, I am also a weirdo to them, because I am short, or I talk different, or I am too smart. Anyone will be a weirdo! It means nothing! I do not care what other kids say. You should not care either! Especially when you know that someone is not weird!”
“I... the twins are weird, though,” Chase whispered.
“And so?” Schneep challenged. “Have you not fought monsters with them? Are they not your friends?”
“N-no, of course they are, I just...” Chase trailed off. Shame heated his face. He looked away from Schneep and Stacy. “I know I shouldn’t care,” he muttered. “But I do, and I don’t know how to not care about it the way Marvin and JJ do.”
“Are you sure they don’t care about people calling them weird?” Stacy prompted.
“I... I was sure, up until you said that.” Weird people didn’t care that others thought they were strange. If they did, they would have stopped being weird a long time ago. Right? That’s how Chase would have reacted. Was he doing it wrong?
“O... m... g.” Stacy stared at him. “Of course they care! Didn’t you notice how Marvin reacted when you called him a magic weirdo?!”
“...No?” Chase squirmed. “Am... am I a bad friend?”
Stacy sighed. “No. You’re not. That Chad guy is a bad friend. You’re just dumb. Just say you’re sorry the next time you see them.”
Schneep nodded. “These sort of, ah... mistakes seem to be common with you. I think Marvin will understand.”
“Right.” Chase nodded.
“Great.” Stacy grinned. “Now we have to eat before lunch period is over. You guys should go get your lunches.”
“Uh...” Chase glanced back towards the open cafeteria doors. “I kinda don’t want to go back in there...”
“Is fine, Chase,” Schneep assured him. “Stacy and I can get food and take it out here for you. That is allowed, ja?”
“I think so.”
“I have to go through the lunch line? Ugh.” Stacy shook her head. “I hate that. It’s crowded.”
“Is that why you always bring your own lunch?” Schneep asked, pointing at her lunch bag.
Stacy shrugged. “My parents don’t like the school food. But anyway, I gotta get your lunch before they stop serving food. C’mon, Schneep.” And she headed back inside.
Schneep patted Chase on the arm. “We will be right back,” he said quietly. “You... be... take, ah, care of yourself.” And with that awkward but heartfelt wish, Schneep followed Stacy inside.
Chase would later learn that students were not, in fact, allowed to take food out of the cafeteria. But for this lunch, the three of them sat on the floor of the hallway together, silently eating. And even though it was a bit uncomfortable, Chase was much happier sitting here than he would have been sitting with Chad.
++++++++++++++++++++
“Chase, do you still have homework?” Mom asked in the car after school.
“Uh... yeeahh,” Chase admitted, squirming in his seat.
Mom sighed. “You have to keep on top of it this year, you know,” she said gently.
“I know, I know.” Chase nodded. “Why don’t you ever ask Henrik if he has homework?”
“I do not have homework,” Schneep offered from the back seat. “If you need help, Chase, I can help.”
Mom chuckled. “I don’t ask Henrik because he always tells me. Which I really appreciate, Henrik, but you don’t have to worry about it so much. Chase, however, might have to worry about his grades.”
“I’ll do it right when we get home, I promise,” Chase said.
And indeed, the moment he got home he took his backpack right up to his bedroom, Schneep following him up the stairs. “I did mean it when I said I can help,” he said. “I do not mind.”
“Nah, bro, you don’t have to. Go have fun reading or whatever.” Chase reached his bedroom and pulled open the door. “I can handle some—”
There was a person in his room.
Chase stared. Schneep gasped. Anti, sitting on Chase’s bed, smiled and waved. “Hi,” he said quietly.
“Wh...” Chase glanced over his shoulder. Mom was still downstairs, but if he shouted, she would definitely hear it. Should he? He looked at Schneep, who was pale; he reached out and gripped Chase’s arm tightly, but didn’t run from Anti. Chase took a deep breath and turned back. “What are you doing?”
“What am I doing? What are you doing?” Anti asked.
“Uh... h-homework?”
Anti stood up. His shadowy body was a bit less translucent than Chase remembered. “Why?”
“Because... it’s... important?” Chase said, confused.
“You have more important things to do,” Anti insisted. “The planetarium. Do you remember the planetarium? Did you forget?”
“Um, no, but... but what do you mean?” Chase asked. He noticed Schneep moving slightly in the corner of his vision, but didn’t dare look away from Anti.
“You haven’t done anything about the greenlight in the planetarium,” Anti said in a low voice. “Why? You’ve done something about all the other greenlight things you’ve found. Take care of this one!”
Chase took a step backwards. “Do something? Like what?”
“I don’t care. Just something.” Anti tilted his head to the side and narrowed his eyes. “Like you’re supposed to. You’re ruining everything by just waiting.”
“W-well, we...” Chase’s eyes flicked to the side. Schneep had entirely disappeared from his field of vision, and was now crouching down close to the ground. “We don’t know what to do yet. It’s a big empty room, not a monster.”
“You’re all smart, aren’t you?” Anti took a step forward. “You should have a plan by now.”
“Maybe we just haven’t had enough time!” Chase protested. “I mean—i-it took us all summer to catch that monster dog, right? And we didn’t have school and homework and stuff taking up all day.”
Anti seemed to consider that. His posture relaxed slightly. “School, hmm? Making you busy?” He giggled. “That’s funny. What’s the word? It’s ironed.”
“...Ironic?” Chase asked hesitantly.
“Ironic. It’s ironic that the school is keeping you from the greenlight.” Anti grinned. “Maybe it’s not as far away as you thi—”
Suddenly, Schneep stood up straight and moved his arm. He threw something! Chase’s baseball had been lying by the bedroom door. He’d grabbed it and thrown it right at Anti. But the ball went right through Anti’s shadowy chest and bounced against the glass of the window behind him.
Anti’s smile vanished. “I was talk͠ing̢,” he growled. His voice sounded strange. Crackly, like an untuned car radio.
Schneep stiffened, white as a ghost. “Es tut mir Leid,” he whispered.
Chase stepped in front of him. He could feel Schneep trembling slightly, his grip on his arm squeezing tighter. “Our mom is right downstairs,” he announced. “If we scream she’s gonna hear it and come running.”
Anti’s green eyes stared into his. The lightbulb in the overhead light flickered on, then off. “That’s nice,” he said in a flat voice. And then without another word, he disappeared.
The two boys waited for a few seconds to see if he would reappear. When he didn’t, Chase immediately whirled around to look at Schneep. “Are you okay?” he asked.
“Ja—yes.” Schneep nodded. He’d stopped shaking and was regaining some color. “I thought—I-I wanted to see if he could be touched—and then I—I did not like... the way he said that.”
“Yeah,” Chase said. “But you’re okay. He left.”
“He did.” Schneep nodded again. “Ah... thank you. That was very brave, stepping in front.”
“Well what’s he gonna do? He’s like a ghost. You just proved he can’t touch anything.” Chase looked at the spot where Anti had been and stuck out his tongue. “He’s just a jerk.”
Schneep laughed. “H-he is.” A moment passed. “You... said ‘our’ mom.”
“I did?” Chase blinked. “I didn’t even realize. But, uh, are you okay with that?”
“I... do not know,” Schneep said slowly. “I like ‘our.’ But... things are complicated.”
“Alright. I’ll try not to do it again, then.” Chase paused. “Y’know, actually, can you help me with homework? I’m having trouble with some chemistry equations.”
Schneep nodded. “Yes! Of course! I have those in my memory.”
“Already?” Chase laughed. “Okay. In that case, you can sit in my beanbag and quiz me.”
As the two of them settled in, neither of them noticed the strange shadow outside the open window. Neither of them realized it watched them for a couple minutes before finally leaving.
++++++++++++++++++++
“Hey Jackie, did you hear?”
Jackie jumped slightly. He’d been staring absentmindedly into his locker, still thinking about the meeting he’d had with the kids at Chase’s house the day before yesterday. Anti appearing in JJ and Marvin’s room had really worried him. So had everything about the mystery group. But he put that out of his mind for now. “Hey, Syl,” he said, turning to look at Sylvester, who’d walked up next to him. “Hear about what?”
“The planetarium collapsed last night!” Sylvester said.
“What?!”
“Yeah, crazy, right?! Mincy told me everything in Math this morning.”
“That’s—what?” Jackie repeated. “How?”
Sylvester shrugged. “No one knows. Maybe it was built on a sinkhole or something. Or maybe something happened with the structure, like it was weak or something.”
A sinkhole wasn’t very likely, but... there was a big, wide-open space below the planetarium. That strange basement. If something happened down there, could the whole building have collapsed into it? “Was anyone inside?”
“Uh, some of the senior staff members were, so that sucks.”
“...yeah.” Jackie nodded. He turned back to his locker and grabbed the textbook he was looking for. “Yeah, that... really sucks.”
As he closed the locker, he could have sworn it was darker inside than normal. As if there was an extra shadow there.
He left too quickly to notice the faint laughter.

Re: Chapter 29 of The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins: Seven sins, seven family members omg! I didn't see it coming even though it was kind of there in plain sight.
What happened to Sota must be key to understanding the car accident. My theory is that he died around 2 years before the accident. The manga keeps flashing back to a point 2 years in the past and I think this is around the time that Tsubasa suddenly stopped playing football and started withdrawing from Nakajima. I would have to reread some earlier chapters but I did get the sense that in some of the >>2 year pre-accident flashbacks that there was another person who was purposely not shown (Sota) but not in the ~2-years pre-accident flashbacks. Other flashbacks to this time period always show everyone being miserable: it lines up with Minako finding out about Kakeru's affair, and I think also shows Shiori withdrawn and glued to her phone. There's also a moment when Tsubasa asks if they can visit the planetarium next year and Minako snaps "there's no way we can go", which I initially attributed to the affair fallout, but it also makes sense if she didn't want to revisit a place the family went with (recently deceased) Sota. Sota dying around that time might also explain why Shiori started seeking out older men, perhaps trying to find something of her older brother in that guy.
I think all the photos in the album were taken by Sota, which means that Sota has been to Fukui too. Now maybe (and this is a bit of a reach) that trip was 2 years before the accident and that's when/where he died and this caused the rest of the family fall to pieces. As Tsubasa's flashbacks to the (2nd) trip to Fukui (car accident) include everyone getting drugged from the drinks brought by Kakeru/drugged by Minako, and Minako said "[Tsubasa] will never need to listen to [her] ever again" .. I think that the car accident Fukui trip was intended as a group suicide caused by the family's 2-year festering pain over Sota's death. That's why Tsubasa learning the truth behind the car accident will change everything.
But that seems waaaay too dark for a WSJ manga so idk! Maybe all the focus on stuff going wrong 2 years before the accident has nothing to do with Sota and he was there during the car accident, (maybe died during that accident). This manga already showed many times that things aren't always as they seem so maybe I'm completely wrong here and the truth is much less dark.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Review Chapter 10
Okay, this collection of posts will be filled with spoilers, including clips and screenshots, so if you don't wanna see things, then don't look. Some of the things I'm gonna highlight will include references to Remake and other sources to link with the overarching plot. This is a straight path playthrough with no sidequests or extra content.
Time to howl at the moon 🤣
Tumblr media
We meet Cid at the airstrip and for a fee he'll take us all over. Yuffie is her overly enthusiastic self and winds up airsick lol
Once we reach Cosmo Canyon there's a dramatic change in Red, who drops his tough guy act the second he spots a friendly face. Barret's reaction is worth everything here!
The story progresses the same as OG with our first meeting with Bugenhagen and Tifa's adorable surprise at hearing how old Nanaki is.
It's worth noting from this point on, the team switches between Red and Nanaki, although nobody says his name that much anyway. Red also switches between voices depending on the situation and how he feels. Like when facing down the Turks or corneo, he'll sound tougher, but with his friends he's more gentle.
Tumblr media
After a tour of the planetarium, where you literally have to climb several floors and interact with items to progress, bugenhagen treats Tifa's eyewitness account like she's seeing things. He arrogantly says he'll educate them and leads them into the SIM.
Tumblr media
The standard explanation about the planet follows, with how the lifestream works as a river and reservoir for life energy. This explanation is in harmony with part of Sephiroth's grandiose statements about how some branches of the lifestream ultimately wither or rejoin the main body.
Basically it's stating that there's no alt timelines, just pathways not taken that die off because there's no energy used to maintain them over a more logical path with stronger and more positive results for the planet.
It's all about the planet's survival, not the people on it.
Tumblr media
Bugenhagen sends Tifa to a "seminar" where she can learn more about the planet because she wants to know if there's more than one way for lifestream energy to rejoin the planet. She wants to know if people's souls aren't truly lost.
She talks about her experience in the lifestream and wants to encourage people to do something for the planet. She doesn't know what they can do, but she feels frustrated about it.
There's another choice convo event later at the fire where Cloud can say he understands her pov and that she shouldn't worry so much about what others think.
The other characters get their relationship development with Cloud, and it finishes with Aerith standing before the fire going on about how hard and sad her life is as the last cetra. Honestly, this came off whiny to me, especially when you consider the worst thing that happened to her is her mom died and Zack went missing. Cloud, Tifa and Barret lost their homes and families. Red was experimented on for two years by Hojo. Yuffie saw Sonon murdered in front of her and grew up in a warzone and had to witness the destruction of her homeland and culture.
I'm sorry, but Aerith being poor me pity me because she didn't have friends just ain't it.
Some lanterns are let off at the end of the scene and then we head down to the challenge of the Gi so Red can be recognised as a Watcher of the Vale.
Tumblr media
You're stuck with just Red and Barret for this part. It's fine. There's minimal struggle with these two and they combo well. Barret's dialogue gets a bit repetitive whenever Red goes wall climbing, but it could be worse.
Bugenhagen explains the history of the Gi and the Vale and Red's family as we head deeper into the caves. There's some creepy looking gates that replace the spider webs from OG, and we have to raid a tomb to get an icon for a pedestal, so it's pretty faithful to the OG section of the game. The wall climbing is fun and let's us take short cuts that means we're alone until Barret catches up 🤣
Bugenhagen tells us the cetra used to talk to the imprisoned Gi and then we have to kick some ass!
Tumblr media
I'm not gonna spoil the scene with Red and his dad. Y'all need to watch it. It's perfection and Max Mittleman did as good a job with this as John Eric Bentley did with Barret's part in Corel. I love those character arcs best and that hasn't changed for Rebirth ❤️
Anyway, Bugenhagen hits regret after having a think and then the Gi reappear and beckon us into a dark cave. Sephiroth appears and Cloud is very eager to follow.
Tumblr media
And we're going on a boat ride. Gi Nattak wants us to be quiet because the planet is listening and that means the cetra are too. He definitely has no love for them or Aerith when she does her stupid hand raise question time thing again. Is she in middle school?
Tumblr media
We leave the A team on the boat and hit up the B team over in Zack's interlude. He's having a nice chat with Biggs about how they both dodged death and how weird it was. They talk about Cloud and have contrasting character profiles for him, and neither can tell time.
Biggs has set up a recruitment for Avalanche, but the only person who turns up is a mocking Kyrie. Discouraged, Biggs leaves and Zack heads home.
Tumblr media
Zack goes to see Aerith, calls to her and holds her hand.
Back over in the real world, Aerith can feel his touch and is startled. Tifa looks worried, but nothing comes of it because we have arrived at our destination 🤣
The Gi village.
There's a lot of info dumping happening between battles here. The main points are:
The Gi aren't of the planet. They're aliens. We don't know how they got here, but it turns out they arrived before Jenova. That's explained in the temple of ancients, not now. It's possible their actions drew jenova to the planet.
The Gi can't die. Because they're not of this planet, she refuses to accept their energy. Like a blood transfusion that's the wrong type it would make the planet sick if she absorbed their energy.
The Gi really want to die. They're sick of existing. They're not alive, they're not dead, they're stuck.
The Gi created the black materia using the planet's energy and their own desire to die. We know it summons meteor, so basically they wanted to die so much they infused their will into a piece of materia, which is of the planet, and that results in the planet taking on the consequences of their wish to die. It's kinda like a murder/suicide.
The cetra stole the black materia to protect the planet, but didn't do anything to help the Gi. Red's father promised to help them too, but they turned him to stone. Red then takes on the task. They group agrees the Gi shouldn't have the materia, but they need help.
Cloud now has the urge to get the black materia. He thinks it's to get hold of it before the bad guys do, but we know better.
Tumblr media
Once we finally leave the Gi village, which is a section I think was needed to expand the Gi and fill in some gaps in the lore, Cait Sith wants to access a Shinra terminal to look for the temple the Gi said hides the materia. Bugenhagen got creative with it and now they're up shit creek without a paddle.
Until a guard says a black robe is at the entrance. And this one has something different to say than the others. This one says "Nibelheim". It's almost like he took a detour to tell them to go there and find a terminal because Cosmo Canyon isn't somewhere they need to be.
But we've got our next destination and some gil in our pocket to pay the airfare!
This chapter was good. The lore and all the new content with the Gi and expanding on all the back story and everything made this one fun to sit through. The cut scenes get a bit long, but it's FF, they do cinematic 🤣
Red and Barret as a team is fun, but I wanted more banter. Zack's interlude is getting more interesting and I can't help but wonder at the inconsistent accounts and personalities of the npcs. The Kyrie we know didn't seem to be quite such a mean spirited bitch as this one is, and Marlene is also pretty bratty actually. Since when is she the type of kid to stick her tongue out and push people? In Remake she was a shy lil cutie. And Elmyra. Since when is she so defeatist? Where's the woman who went to the station every day to wait and pray her husband was safe? Everybody seems slightly off.
I guess we'll see what happens in part three with all that.
Our next stop is Nibelheim, and it was somewhere I was looking forward to a lot, and it didn't disappoint! The game really did pick up after we left Costa del Sol. It's like they started switching off from vacay mode and going back into "oh shit my life is fucked" mode 🤣

From Eden 💙

Chapter 2
Lucifer was facing the mirror, he looked different. You once told him that everybody changes, even if they look the same. He sighed for the tenth time that day. Lucifer sat in his chair and carefully took the quill between his fingers, he stared at the blank piece of paper before him and his resolution began to falter. He swallowed, lifted his chin and started to write.
Dear, Mc.
It's been ten years since your death but I have to admit this to you, my love, it feels like a century has passed.
Sometimes I remember those days when you used to make fun of your own mortality, remember that? When I overworked, you would tell me how you could die at any moment and how bad I would regret not having stopped working to give you a hug.
Everytime you said that, my heart ached and no matter how many kisses and caresses you gave me, the pain wouldn't cease.
I always stopped my work to give you a hug, but you lied to me, my love. For I still regret not having hugged you more, perhaps that last time I shouldn’t have let you go, maybe you would be here with me.
I suppose you may want to know about my brothers, they are doing better now or at least they are trying. The first month after you left was pure chaos.
Satan's whole room was filled with books about how to revive death people. Beel didn't eat for a whole week and when he finally ate, he almost devoured the entire Devildom as he cried.
You would think Belphegor slept the pain away but no, he stayed awake in the planetarium looking your stars shine. He used to say that you were there. Leviathan and Asmodeus cried in their room, both tried to hid from reality. When they were about to sink they found each other, even when you're not here you bring us together.
Mammon took it worse, he was your “first” and he blamed himself. "I couldn't protect them" he repeated those words intensely like a broken record. The witches started to fear him, just imagine dear, they were afraid of Mammon because "He has the eyes of someone who has lost everything."
I didn't know what to do, I was scare of losing him too… but then, Simeon told us. You were reborn in heaven! You were alive! My brothers’ eyes, you should have seen that.
We thought you’d come back, we didn't want you to fall but maybe you could come with Simeon and Luke. But you did not. Why? I remember you were angry before your death. Diavolo brought another exchange student, the second phase he said. You told me how lonely you were feeling and how unfair it was that you were in the human world losing all the fun while we were hanging with the new human, you went as far as saying you would captivate them too.
I know you were joking, Mc. But maybe you’re still angry, is that so? Why do you keep torturing us with your absence? Why do you keep torturing me with the lack of love?
After your death, Diavolo said the exchange program would be "put on the waiting list”. I didn't know back then but that was his own way of mourning. Yesterday he told me that it was time to bring back his plan to unify the three worlds, but he seemed afraid. Something bad is happening. I know this is egotistical, love, but I wish you were here.
Please, come back. This may sound foolish but I'm sure that if I could see your face once more, I could die a happy demon.* So hurry up, come back to us, to me and when you see me, be sure to show me how much you’ve missed me.
With love, Lucifer.
*Yes, It's a line of "All I Want" from Kodaline. I was listening to it and my stubborn ass wanted to use it even if it didn't fit that much.
From Eden is also a song, from Hozier. 💜
This is not a replaced Mc au, that shit it's scary. (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)

Breaking the Class Ceiling Chapter 5
This is set in early 1900s U.S.A., during the Edwardian era with some style changes into the upcoming Art Nouveau period. I've changed history a bit for this. Pretending that America didn't have a full Civil War and trying to create a more optimistic outcome for the purposes of the story. I've also tried to research what the rules for society/socializing were back then, and tweaked some of them.
Warnings for upcoming chapters: minor character death, some sexual harassment/assault (but nothing too graphic or traumatic), smut
He was on a train.  He’d never been on a full blown train before.  The trolley cars around New York, sure, but nothing as fast as this.  Bucky was one in a party of ten, five couples in all, traveling to St. Louis for a week at the World Fair.  He was literally being paid for his time, triple what he would normally make, which was a very strange arrangement, but you had made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.  Mr. Fury was upset but understanding when he quit as Bucky’s luck in life had drastically changed.
Steve had come with Peggy Carter, the woman he was now engaged to.  You had thrown an engagement party in their honor the week before, crying for them as they recounted their love story.  Bucky loved how much you loved his friends and wanted the best for them.  He wasn’t sure when your time as a couple was yet for engagement, he hoped soon, but was worried about whether he should ask you or if you would ask him.  The ball was in your court, always had been, and it was something that he was still getting used to.  He couldn’t spoil you, spend lavishly on you, which you assured him was fine as long as he just accompanied you and made you happy in other ways.  He was so used to having to work for everything he had that any kind of gifts or inclusion into your daily life you provided him felt like he owed you something.  All he could give was his love and his mother’s ring, the most expensive and cherished thing he owned.  It wasn’t anything extravagant, but it was a beautiful older ring.  His father gave it to him weeks ago as your relationship progressed, and he brought it with him everywhere he went now, waiting to see if there was a right moment to ask you.  He wasn’t sure if he should talk to you about it first.  He’d never gotten this far into any courtship before.
He and the other men went to grab some lunches for everyone from one end of the dining car while you and the women talked on the other end.
“So, when will you pop the question?” Peggy urged you, poking your shoulder.  “Or are you wanting him to do it?”
“I’m not sure, Peg, we haven’t talked about it,” you answered honestly.  “I have a sneaking suspicion he’s ready to ask but is looking for the right time.  I’m ready to ask him whenever, but I think he feels like he needs to ask me, since I asked him to court,” you said contemplating the relationship.
“You asked him to court you?” Wanda asked, her eyebrows shooting up her head.
“Yes, of course,” you said indignantly.  “I liked him from the moment I met him.  I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.  He makes me feel seen, heard, and understood.  He doesn’t expect me to be prim and proper at all times.  He…” you tapered off, watching him laugh at something one of the men said at the front of the car.  “He’s the best friend I’ve ever had.”
“And I’m sure it helps that he is one of the most handsome men in New York,” Maria added, wiggling her eyebrows teasingly.
You all laughed at that as the men came back with their hands full of food, looking at you all strangely.
The World Fair was a rounding success.  As tired as you all were from the constant walking and stuffing yourselves with fair food all week, the attractions had been amazing to see.  Bucky was particularly interested in the set about futuristic inventions and findings in space.  You made a mental note of that as he gazed at the replica of the known galaxy in the planetarium.
On the last night as you got dressed to meet everyone for dinner there was a knock on your door.  “Come in!” you invited them, slipping on your gloves.  Bucky walked through the door, his eyes glued to his cufflinks that he was struggling with.
“Doll, could you help me with these blasted things?  I can’t seem to get it to connect and–” he stopped as he looked up at you.  You were wearing a long gold dress overlaid with a sheer black fabric skirt, a gold embroidery strip along the front and tassels along the skirt and the waist.  The neckline plunged down low on your chest, barely held up by metallic straps and sheer champagne colored, short, flowy sleeves.  A gold headpiece of flowers and leaves reached from one ear, around the back of your head to your other ear, with emeralds and small beaded dragonflies hanging into your hair which was pinned to your head in purposefully haphazard curls, some tendrils falling out methodically.  Your gloves were once again laced, this time black to match the black overlay skirt.  Your shoes were black velvet with embellished gold heels, reflecting the art nouveau theme with dragonfly accents again.  You held a black lace fan that was attached to your wrist with a ribbon.  You wore a little makeup to enhance your eyes and lips, a deep brownish black color making your eye color pop, and the dark rouge on your lips accentuating their shape.  Bucky could not seem to stop staring.
“Love, you look…I have no words,” he was dumbfounded, his cufflinks long forgotten.
“Do you like it?” you asked, giving him a spin, your dress flowing around you as you beamed at him.
“Yes, it’s so…you look like a goddess,” he complimented, “like the ones we saw at the exhibit about Ancient Greece.  Aphrodite personified, if she graced us with her divine.”
“Oh Bucky, stop it,” you blushed, “but thank you.  You look as handsome as always.” You gave him an appreciative look, walking up and taking his arm to fix his cufflinks.  He was wearing a black suit, a satin black waistcoat that had velvet pieces sewn into it that reflected the gold embroidery you wore, a white dress shirt and a wash style tie that was black and sheer to match you.  Near the knot of the tie was nestled a gold brooch with a futuristic pattern embossed in the metal surrounding a prominent emerald.  He slicked his longer hair back, the top curling as the humidity was higher in St. Louis than New York, giving her an unadulterated view of his eyes.
“I seem to have my own Adonis,” you praised him, straightening his tie and brushing down the lapels of his suit for any flyaway strands or dust.  “His own beauty personified, and looking very tempting.”
“Tempting am I?” He asked as he cocked an eyebrow at you.  “Maybe after dinner I can show you just how tempting I can be.”
“Hmm,” you hummed seductively back.  You had done a few things that would have made your uncle gasp at the impertinence, but had never fully lain with each other yet.  You had made it a point to not fully kiss him on the lips ever, supposedly saving it for a certain point, but also as a way to tease him relentlessly since he had done it to you earlier on in the relationship, making him chase your lips.  “Yes, you’ll have to.  I demand it.”
“Oh you demand it?” He sputtered at your brazenness.
“Yes, I demand my pleasure, Bucky Barnes,” you got on your tiptoes and pressed a kiss too close to his lips.  He groaned.
“No more teasing, Y/N, please.  Why won’t you kiss me?”
“Don’t fret, darling, we’ll get there,” you promised him, scratching the beard hair on his chin then turning to grab your fur shawl and your clutch.  Inside held a ring box that you planned on giving him tonight during the firework show.  You had decided it was time, you didn’t want to spend another minute without the promise of this man as yours forever.
“Shall we darling?” You held your hand out to him.
“We shall,” he looped your hand around his arm, leading you out to dinner.
Everyone was dressed immaculately.  They indulged themselves on the last night of the trip, drinking the best wines and liquors and eating some of the best prepared food Bucky had ever been blessed to have in his mouth.  Afterwards they all lazily strolled to the center of the fair near the water fountain, stopping at stalls and exhibits they hadn’t had a chance to see along the way.  When the time came for the fireworks to begin you stealthily got the ring box out of your clutch, hiding it in your hand as Bucky stood next to you.  The lights darkened as the show was about to begin.  The first firework shot high into the air, disappearing momentarily before exploding a bright mix of pinks and blues.  Bucky was enthralled.  This week had been one of the best of his life, getting to enjoy and sight see without a care in the world.  And he was able to do it all because of you.  As much as this had all started as a physical attraction and an advantageous union, it was now something that he couldn’t dream of living without.
You watched him enjoy the fireworks for a few moments, loving the way his eyes lit up as each one exploded, his eyebrows shooting up at particularly large ones.  You switched the ring box to your other hand and slipped it into his hand as he was looking up.
Bucky quickly looked down as you handed him something.  He opened his hand to reveal a sapphire blue velvet box.  His eyes snapped to you, and you gave him a soft, hopeful smile, gesturing to him to open it.  He looked back at the box, his fingers shaking as his other hand opened the top, revealing a platinum signet ring with a small aquamarine gem set in the middle that matched the color of his eyes and leaf filigree surrounding the band.  Bucky stared at it until he felt you pull him to face you.
You took the ring out of the box and held it in your fingers in front of him.  “I know we haven’t talked about engagement yet, but I couldn’t wait another minute before asking if you would be mine, for the rest of our lives and beyond death and time,” your voice shook with emotion as you held it in front of his face, looking him deep in his eyes.  “I love you.  I feel like I’ve loved you from the moment I met you.  Will you, James Buchanan Barnes, my Bucky, my darling, marry me?”
Bucky’s eyes began watering as he listened to you.  He reached into his trouser pocket and pulled out an old and faded burgundy velvet ring box.  You watched him intently as he opened his box to reveal a gold ring with a round white diamond set in the middle with fine engraving on the band on either side.  “Yes, my pretty doll.  As long as you will wear my mother’s ring and promise to be mine forever,” he plucked the ring out and held it in his fingers in front of you.
You both silently chuckled through tears, exchanging the rings and placing them on each other’s left ring fingers.  Miraculously they both fit perfectly, and as you gazed at each other you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him down to your lips in what was your first kiss.
As you kissed him it felt like every fiber of his being was set aflame and life finally made sense, the pieces of a puzzle falling into place.  His heart leapt as he wound his arms around your waist and pulled you tight against him, picking you up and twirling you around as the fireworks celebrated you.
There was clapping and hollering that registered in your ears making you pull away from each other. The rest of the group were congratulating you, having watched your engagement.  Peggy and Steve were crying as they hugged you both, Bucky making Steve his best man on the spot.
As you watched him smile widely and care free, you realized you had done it.  You had found the man to spend your life with, to share your fortune and hopefully someday soon create the family to pass on your empire.  He came back to you and held your face in his hands as he leaned down again and kissed your lips, soft but firm.  Now that he had had a taste he was like a man starved, taking every opportunity to experience your lips as much as you’d let him.
