Okay, somebody was talking about how Donnie can just create things out of thin air with his ninpō (e.g. When he made his black battle shell in the movie) and I have been keeping this tiny rant in my head for too long:

Donnie has always been op. Did you see their old lair? He made all of the tech in there. He could literally fight draxum by himself in the first episode. When splinter threw them in the forest for survival training he just made a damn tree house just like that on woodland creature power and HE COULD COMMUNICATE WITH THEM. he's not weak. Nor helpless. He's scary.

I love him so much.

I actually really like how they characterized all of them in rise. It's what got me into the fandom. Well that and the nostalgia, since my mom made me watch the '87 and' 03 turtles when I was little ('03 is still what I think about when I hear tmnt). I can't say anything about '12 Turtles, since I have no means of watching it (I did watch the first season but it was in a language I can't even pinpoint so....), but they're so lively and unique and just so themselves. I fell in love with these idiots right away.

Mikey especially got to shine in this aspect. But of course the others got so much more depth to them now aswell. I would've loved to see how Leo developed further into the leader role. It would've been great to see the entirety of his journey towards this calm, confident, smart, strong leader type that is basically his essence in all the past versions.

JANUARY 23, 2018

Charles and Y/N were headed to their friend's birthday party when they took the picture.

They had been dating for 7 months at that point and were definitely in the honeymoon stage, never being able to keep their hands to themselves.

While waiting for the elevator to get to their friend's floor, Y/N thought it would be a great time to take a picture for her iconic fit checks.

Charles knew what she was doing but decided to interrupt her anyway.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her cheek while she was taking her pictures making her let out a laugh. Charles smiled into her cheek hearing her laugh.

"Baby, you've gotta let me do this quick, we're almost there," Y/N said through her laughs.

"Let me be in one," he whined.

Charles had already amassed a small but dedicated fan base, causing him to keep many things to himself, his relationship included.

Y/N was a smaller influencer, but she also had a very dedicated fan base as well. They both decided they wanted to keep having their fun in private without any strangers looking into their relatively young relationship.

"Fine, but stand over there," Y/N sighed out with a smile.

She posted that picture on her story 15 minutes after her fit check causing many people to slide up and ask her who the mystery man was.

YOUR BIRTHDAY, 2021

The video was short, only 17 seconds long.

You could hear people talking in the background, utensils clinking against plates, but the main focus of the video was Charles' words toward Y/N.

"Look who it is, it's the birthday girl!" he said excitedly.

"Look how beautiful she is, the prettiest girl in the world," Charles' voice turned soft.

Y/N's face turned warm. She let a giant smile take over her face and let out a small giggle. She would never be used to the amount of compliments he gave her.

"I love you," Y/N said to him.

"Je t'aime, ma bonheur," he replied softly.

The camera was then angled towards the table like it was about to be turned off but it wasn't quite yet. Before the video ended you could hear the couple share a quick kiss before Y/n laughed, saying, "You're not posting that."

"Watch me."

AUGUST 2022

The trip to Italy was not planned.

Charles and Y/N were going to spend their break in their Monaco apartment but Charles decided to be spontaneous and surprised Y/N with a trip to Italy.

"Come on, it'll be fun. And we haven't been to Italy in a really long time," Charles said, trying his best to be convincing, but he knew the moment he brought it up she was on board.

"Fine," Y/N said, pretending like the decision bothered her.

"We're going to have so much fun," he said rushing to her, picking her up, and spinning her around causing her to let out a loud laugh.

Their trip was amazing.

They had incredible food and went to some of the best clubs. There wasn't a night where the couple stayed in, wanting to be out and about exploring every day

Halfway through their trip Pierre and Kika joined them. Y/N and Kika got close because their boyfriends were practically together all the time.

The first photo is from when the group went to a little party they were invited to by some people they met. Y/N and Charles were posing for a picture taken by Kika. They thought she was done taking it and leaned in closer to each other. They leaned in for a kiss but a flash going off stopped them.

"Sorry! You guys just looked so cute. Don't stop on my account," Kika said.

Charles and Y/N laughed before they shared a kiss. They took the phone back and looked through their pictures.

The second photo was again taken by Kika. The group of four were walking to a restaurant for dinner when the picture was taken.

Charles, ever so protective, wrapped his arm around Y/N's waist, guiding her the right way. Y/N, wanting to hold his hand, wrapped her arm around her back and grabbed his hand, interlacing their fingers.

Learning her lesson from last time, Kika turned the flash off and took the picture, not sending it to them until each couple said their goodnights and headed to bed.

MAY 12, 2022

Charles and Y/N were in New York after the Miami GP. They were celebrating Charles' P2.

Y/N had been to New York more times than Charles, so she thought she would take him to some of her favorite places in the city.

The whole night Charles had a hand on her at all times. Whether it was a hand around her waist or simply holding her hands. He was in a touchy mood and she noticed.

He kept asking her for kisses throughout the entire night, and she would be crazy to deny him. At one point he begged her to sneak into the bathroom with him so he could give her a proper kiss and not the small pecks she was giving him.

They were both aware that there were cameras on them all throughout the night but they couldn't find it in themselves to care. If anything it made Charles want to show even more affection. He wanted the world to know that the beautiful woman beside him was his.

Jason Todd & Chronic Pain

I scrounged for the panels I know from Rebirth about Jason still having lingering pain and injuries from when the Joker killed him. We know Jason had substantial injuries and brain damage when he was resurrected, and Talia healed that with the Lazarus pit. But here’s some I know of being mentioned even after Talia healed him with the Lazarus pit.

The first I know of is when evil future Batman Tim targeted Jason’s hip because of a Joker-related injury that he claimed would eventually become debilitating for Jason. This move does take Jason out of the fight so it definitely seems like evil Tim successfully aggravated the injury.

Detective Comics #968 (Jan 2018) — earlier in #966 Batman Tim also mentioned future Jason would eventually lose an eye and a leg while fighting assassins.

More recently, regular, not-evil Tim referenced it while evaluating how to fight a Clayface Jason mimic:

Tim Drake: Robin #3 (Jan 2023) — Tim says the pit brought Jason back, which has sometimes been a thing. Originally Jason was only healed by the pit after he’d already been resurrected by something else.

This next one was black label, so it may or may not be canon (the creative team claims “it’s up to reader interpretation” and disagree on whether they personally think it is canon). I’m not a fan of the comic but it did pretty clearly indicate Jason had chronic pain from the Joker:

Batman: Three Jokers #2 (Nov 2020)

(There might be more than these—my reading of post flashpoint comics is kinda random and incomplete compared to my reading of post-Crisis. In post-Crisis though I think they mainly put emphasis on Jason’s destabilized mental health and didn’t really bring up physical aspects IIRC. His brain damage seemed healed and yet he seemed more affected after the pit than other one-time-in-the-pit characters like Dinah Lance or Cass Cain were.)

They haven’t bothered explaining how the pit didn’t heal them so far as I know (the pits kinda work to authorial convenience anyway). My route is usually to blame any weird Jason stuff on the strange, multiversal circumstances of his resurrection, but versions of his origin where he’s only brought back by the pit might not jive with that (which includes some Rebirth IIRC).

In any case, I do hope more writers pick up on this more and I love to see when it’s expanded upon a bit in fandom. I would already consider Jason’s mental health to be a disabling issue for him but it’s neat sometimes to have writers recognize chronic pain-related issues among DC characters. (I’d love to also see more expansion of Bruce mentioning he experienced chronic pain…it pops up every so often but rarely if ever in depth.)

Sorry if I’m bothering you, but I just wanted to ask you something that was in my mind for a while, what’s your opinion about the today’s Once-ler Fandom?

I mean, the new oncelings (like me) and all the new stuff that is here, you probably think that all of this is so different in comparison with how the fandom was back in 2012!

And also… do you miss something from the fandom? :p

Something that you don’t see here anymore or not as much as it used to be?

Hiii suemooon! Today was yet another tiring work day =w= but my coworker gave me hot chocolate mix and marshmallows today as a christmas present so that was nice! I hope you're doing well too.

To compare today's onceler fandom vs 2012's onceler fandom...man I could talk forever about this haha! This is all just from my own point of view of course but I would say, yes a lot of things are different, but a lot of things are the same, too.

UHHMMM extremely long post so it's under a readmore LOL

For the differences, a lot of them are simply due to the way the internet has changed in 12 years. In 2012, most oncelings were in their early 20s, and if you were younger than 16 you were extremely rare and we would be like "WOAH?? THEY'RE 15?? I HAVE NEVER SEEN A 15 YEAR OLD ON SOCIAL MEDIA BEFORE". But today's oncelings are like, mostly teens now, I feel? I think it's because of tiktok, which didn't exist internationally until 2018, and also because of parents giving ipads to their kids at the age of 2. But yeah, to compare today to 2012 is like comparing gen z to millennials, the content and jokes were different and, due to 2012 being in the past, what was socially acceptable was different, too.

Another thing that's different is the way young people act towards characters nowadays, but let me specify some more. I really dislike the term "content" when referring to someone's personal creations because it just sounds so corporate. And I don't know how to feel when I see some new oncelings treat an old popular askblog character as if they're public property produced by some big company, instead of as an OC that someone worked really hard on. For example, Truffula Flu Camp Entre and Thneedville High AU are like "established media" to a lot of people out there now, as if they're well-known series recognizable to the masses (no, they're not). And as a result, I've seen people headcanon whatever they want on other people's OCs and ship them however they want without even knowing if the mods are okay with those ships anymore (it's better to be real careful, if you want my advice..). I've also seen new oncelings give other people's OCs to public merch-selling sites without the mods' permission, and I've even seen new oncelings try to take inactive askblog OCs as their own. Why? :( Just make your own OCs. You can do it! Hold my hand.

New oncelings don't understand what they're stepping into when they look at our old content from over a decade ago. Our personal feelings and our private friendships from those times, whether good or bad, are precious to us and I guess it's just a new phenomenon that we have to deal with now, so I don't have the answers for this yet. But I would encourage everyone to also look at new and current OCs in the fandom - which many people do, and I love to see that!! I also love seeing people making friends with each other and having fun with each other, that's what reminds me of the better days of 2012.

Another difference is the...landscape? We have tumblr DMs now and we have discord communities so a lot of things are hidden now from public view. RPs used to be public on tumblr but now we rp on discord and only people in the server can read them, and there are pros and cons to that. Also the fandom isn't dominated by only a handful of askblogs anymore. Things are WAY more balanced and evenly distributed now compared to 2012, where Swag Once-ler was the king of the fandom with 200 asks sent to him every hour and 4000 followers accumulated in just 5 months. (And I'm not dissing on Swag, I loved Swag too. I'm just stating my observations. In fact I miss him a lot ;-;)

As for what's the same...xD The excitement and passion that a lot of new oncelings have! I find that so cute. People being creative is the same, people gushing over the onceler and fandom ocs is the same, even if internet slang has changed. People being ambitious with projects is the same, even if those projects are never finished (but this is just general human nature). And PEOPLE BEING SWEET TO EACH OTHER is the same! I was nervous during 2020 since a lot of "ironic" fans joined that year but I'm happy to have seen some genuinely sweet people around in more recent years, just like there were in 2012. 😊

I also see a lot of the same movie analysis discussions each year, which makes sense since new people keep entering the fandom, haha! "The lorax movie could've been better", "the 1972 film is better", "I wish they kept biggering", "they should've expanded the factory scenes and taken out the car chase scene", "i hate the onceler's mom", "the movie's point gets muddled because too many people think his mom's to blame", "i can't believe zac efron and taylor swift didn't sing in the movie", and on and on, those never change, and I've seen these same discussions so often that I support the antithesis of each topic now, just to be a rebel. 😇 But usually I don't engage in those anymore, I just think "haha aww! they're having fun :]" and leave them be! But like, it truly reminds me of the earlier days. It's me who has changed, in this case.

And finally, "do you miss something from the fandom? Something that you don’t see here anymore or not as much as it used to be?" I mentioned Swag already, I also miss a lot of other askblogs that belonged to my friends, and most of all I miss a lot of my friends who've drifted away, and I hope they're all doing well. I had a lot of good times with friends over the years. Some of them were rp partners and I miss our rps and I miss their characters dearly, I can't think about it too hard or else I might cry. What else...I want to say that I miss the crazy nightblogging events we used to have but I don't know if I could keep up with those anymore if they happened again haha. Same with askblogs answering asks live, almost no one does that now because people want so much to make every ask pretty with a new pretty artwork. But like, even if that comes back, again I don't know if I could keep up. So I suppose everything had its place!

Things will continue to shift and change, and you never know what the future holds so it's best to just keep going. I'm still making new friends and new good memories in the fandom each year, and I'm grateful for that.

Hello this is my presentation on what animals Les Mis characters would be except I'm only 500ish pages into the book so it's very short list at the moment

I decided almost IMMEDIATELY that Valjean would be some sort of owl, despite what I believe is the most popular interpretation being him as a lion. I was thinking of that one chapter in the book where he's referred to as an owl (the one called 'a nest for owl and wren' I think??) and decided yes absolutely that is 100% it. So then my first thought was a snowy owl, since they're pretty fucking big and also white (I'm not too bothered for hair colours and what have you in the rest of these but for Valjean it seemed pretty important) but the snowy owl look just wasn't doing it for me!! (something about their look was a little too intense, I guess??) And then! I remembered the barn owl (which is, by the way, probably my favourite owl). And yeah I might be a little biased towards them but they have a sort of gentle look while still being, y'know, owls (notoriously pretty dangerous predators). And of course, owls are nocturnal.

Also, just look at them!! The vibe is perfect, I'm certain of it.

(And!! While most barn owls have that light brown colouring, there have been white ones!! So the hair colour problem is all good)

Javert was a LOT more trouble (which I wasn't anticipating, after the easy pick for Valjean). He HAD to be some sort of wolf/dog-adjacent animal, that was the one and only condition (though I did briefly consider a horse. Just because he has a horse in both the 2018 BBC series and the 2012 movie??). A hyena was my first immediate pick (yeenvert <3) but it wasn't QUITE there and I was struggling desperately for some other idea. AND THEN! I decided, if no horse, why not a vaguely horse-shaped dog? Which led to a short list of hounds (scottish deerhound, irish wolfhound, ibizan hound) which I sort of juggled in my mind for a bit before finally deciding I kind of liked the scruffy deerhound vibe. They're very sweet dogs, as far as I know, so in that respect maybe not so accurate, but they definitely have the capacity to be foreboding in the same way most hounds have. They're also pretty tall!

(And yes I KNOW I said I wasn't fussed for colours but the grey on these guys is actually perfect for my mental image of Javert so! It's a happy accident!)

I knew pretty immediately that the bishop would be some sort of rooster. I have absolutely no reason for this other than the vibe was too perfect to ignore (though I think I might have been inspired by some gif of the bishop an old Les Mis movie where there were chickens in the background). So then I went on Wikipedia and ran through a list of roosters until I found this magnificent little beast, a faverolles rooster. I found on my not-so-extensive research journey that these guys are super gentle and apparently very hilarious, which, yeah, that's absolutely him <3

The bishop's sister (Mademoiselle Baptistine?) also gets a chicken. Because yeah they're related but also I just think it really fits her. Or maybe I'm biased, idk, I do really love chickens. I don't really have much to say about her which I am so so sorry for because I do really like her!! But she's a swedish flower hen

And Madame Magloire was going to be a chicken (before I gave that to the bishop's sister instead) but I later landed on some sort of donkey. Again, I haven't got much reason for this but the vibe is there!! I promise you!! I switched between a bunch of different donkey breeds (all of which I had never heard of before but I absolutely love, by the way. Go check out a provence donkey) and then i found the bourbonnais donkey, which is just perfect to me. If I have ever been certain of anything it's this.

(There's a disappointing amount of donkey photos on the internet. Where are they all!!)

I was going to save Fauchelevent for a different post but i really like him so he's here too. I was pretty sold on him as a sheep at first, and I very nearly left it at that but then!! I learned of a cashmere goat, which was not only a lot closer to how I imagine him but also they look cool as hell!! So I thought, okay, that was easy, but something still wasn't sitting quite right. The goat idea was absolutely perfect, but the cashmere goat was too far in the direction away from the sheep idea (which I'm still very attached to). So instead I went for an angora goat! Which apparently do something pretty close to gardening for a goat (eating/destroying nuisance plants and improving pastures) so it was almost too perfect to pass up. Also their horns are pretty awesome

(It's very funny to me personally that Valjean is an owl while Fauchelevent is a goat. Yes, we are brothers, the bird and the goat. Makes perfect sense)

I was going to give Cosette one in this post too but I'm not 100% sure of hers yet!! So she'll have to wait. I apologise deeply.

suguru saved me from the awkward silence and wiggly eyebrows from satoru. "y/n! come help me set up the table, please!" "coming!" i bolted out of there. phew, at least im free from embarrassment now. . once i got in the kitchen, yuji and nobara were arguing about who was going to eat the most food. suguru handed me the utensils that went on the table. i realized hadn't talked to him since i got home. he gently patted my head instead of ruffling my hair like satoru. "how was your visit to the ice rink?" he asked, gently smiling at me. "It was good, until i hit my head and fell on my butt." suguru chuckled at my defeated tone. i started to set the table, placing the chopsticks, spoons, etc in front of every seat. i watch as yuji and nobara approach him, talking to him comfortably. i didnt know they were friends with megumi. he seems like the closed off type, especially now.

soon, shoko arrives and everyone eats. i have to admit, my brother sure can cook. im starting to think hes like satoru's malewife..anyways, after everyone finished eating, we had a drawing, and whoever drew the short stick had to wash dishes while everyone else got to play uno. God was NOT favoring me today. there were two short sticks, and guess who got them! me and megumi. FREAKING MEGUMI. you know what? it cant get more awkward than this.... right?

here, we stood right beside each other, shoulder touching shoulder, leg touching leg. i wanted to crawl in a hole and disappear. the worst part was, he wasn’t even bothered by it! he didn’t even acknowledge it! surely, if i was him, i’d at least be stealing glances! oh, well, maybe he isnt that kind of guy. he was never interested in stuff like that. the two of us stood at the kitchen sink, washing dishes. the entire time, i was wondering how to start a conversation and barely got anything done! megumi had done most of it. now he probably thinks im useless! he’ll never associate himself with someone so unhelpful. “so,” i started, lips trembling. he glances at me. how come his eyelashes are so long? does he use mascara? “how..how have you b-been lately?” i wanted to curse myself. who the hell stutters nowadays!? “alright. what about you?” i could feel my shoulders tensing. i had heard his voice earlier, but now, im really paying attention to it. just thinking about it makes my stomach do axles. “good, actually.” i smiled, desperate to keep myself from squealing. minutes past, he hasnt said anything after that. okay, you dont wanna talk to me, cool. fine. whatever. saw the 'bother with asks and questions' post and reblogged it so a lil obligated to BE THE CHANGE I WANT TO SEE. I appreciate a fellow yautja appreciator that is for sure. I didn't watch the latest movie, if you did, how would you compare it to any of the other predator (or AVP) films? I'm taking my sweet time, but good press from someone who is focused on whats important (tHE BIG ALIEMS,,,), might move it up my priority list.

I get you! We gotta be the change we want to see! I myself went out and asked some folks things. 😊

As for your question concerning “Prey”, in comparison to the others in the franchise it stands out for multiple reasons.

1. It’s not set in the modern era.

With this film not being in modern times, we get to explore, for the first time on film, what a predator hunt in the past would look like! It’s no longer just seeing their historical hunts in the comics and novels, which has long been something we fans have wanted to see on the big screen. “Prey” also answers questions concerning historical hunts.

How different would their technology look and behave? Would they get tangled with historical events that shaped the future? What would they do in the face of long outdated weapons of that time?

“Prey” answers these pretty well, I think!

We get to see possible earlier iterations of the iconic weapons Yautja are associated with, we get to see how one becomes entangled with big historical events in pre-colonial North America, and also get the treat of one dealing with 17th century weapons.

The weapons of the time provide a few genuinely funny moments that help break the tension a little. I won’t spoil them, but I’m sure they’ll give you a good laugh!

I will say that it’s not riddled with excessive humor like 2018’s “The Predator”. There is a wonderful balance.

2. The lead isn’t some forgettable buff military guy and instead a Comanche Native American woman.

Unlike other current Hollywood female leads, she’s a genuine bad ass. She’s allowed to learn and grow from her mistakes, shaping up to use her intelligence against Feral. Naru knows the land and uses it to her advantage. She grew up surrounded by nature and picks up that something weird is going on, something she can’t explain until things happen.

Sorry, no spoilers here!

While there are moments where there is obvious plot armor, she still a cool and likable character with flaws but manages to also be a surprisingly worthy hunt for Feral. It’s also cool to see Indigenous representation and see a glimpse into that culture! We see parallels between a cryptid (can’t confirm if it was just for the movie or actual mythology for that tribe) and our titular Yautja.

With Naru, we get a coming of age story that mirrors Feral in this hunt being his first time on our planet and him slowly learning more about this hunting ground. They’re both, seemingly, out to prove themselves, setting up for later events in the film that pay off.

3. New Sub-Species of Yautja!

Thanks to Feral we get a glimpse of what a Yautja who originates from a different region, other than the jungle, of the planet looks like, with this case being a desert environment. While I think the facial design is atrocious, I can see what they were going for.

We learned from interviews with the design team that his sub-species consumes bones and has a special palette just for that in his mouth. His locs are slender and more numerous in order to keep cool, plus it looks pretty cool! I’m sure he’d be a shampoo company’s dream model!

You get to see a predator actually hunt things other than humans! I won’t spoil it, but there are some awesome scenes that really showcase the strength and agility that Yautja are known for but we hardly get to see. It’s pretty bad ass!

In “Prey”, we also see a more brutal predator who revels in bloodshed and fucks people up. There’s more violence on display, plus some new cool weaponry that only aids the carnage. While he gives off Young Blood energy occasionally, he’s still a bad ass! When he’s on the screen, he commands your attention!

However, he’s the only Yautja I’ll want the mask to stay on. He’s not a pretty fella and I liken him to a golden roast chicken.

“Prey” was the return to form the franchise needed after the questionable decisions made in 2018’s “The Predator”. Whoever thought that Yautja would be interested in my Autism was a big dumb ass. This film breathes new life into the franchise and gives us something genuinely entertaining while also bringing back some of the terror that the original 1987 “Predator” gave us!

I personally rank this high up on the list of previous films we’ve received over the years. It’s better than “Predators”, “The Predator”, and “AVPR”, sitting right with the OG, Predator 2, and AVP for me.

It’s worth the watch. It’s not a 10/10, more like an 8/10, but it’s still worth the watch! You should run to Hulu and give it a go. You won’t be disappointed!

Oh! Last thing!

On a scale of 1 to 10, Feral is a solid four for me. His body is gorgeous. Those thick fingers? HELLO!

Hi and sorry I just wanted to inform you that your reblogged post about the Israel Anti Boycott Act is disinformation and probably meant to be misleading.

Actually looking at the Wikipedia article about the Israel Anti Boycott Act specifically, which is where the first image in the tweet comes from, it literally says that this act was proposed and not passed back in 2018 and had a lot more republic supporters than democratic supporters in both house and senate. This is of course just scratching the very top of the iceberg and only for this specific act. There are in fact many different proposed laws and such in different US states that have been coming and going in recent years. These are so called Anti-BDS laws, which is a whole nother big Wikipedia article I have not read. Anyway I'm not saying that these are not a problem to worry about, I'm just here to say, that the tweet and post is dishonest in it's intent and misleading.

I haven't looked up at what the second part of the tweet is about, but It's definitely not about the act from the picture. I saw some reblogs of that post discussing that it's about another reform and what that reform was actually about, but I admittedly haven't checked that out in detail, so I can't definitely say anything about that.

Sorry again to bother you with this, but I believe that letting such disinformation just stand serves basically no one.

Stop Saying "Sorry" and Start Saying "Thank You"

Ciao Royals! Today’s post was inspired by a vlog I saw on the Barbie channel- now, before you think that’s ridiculous, just give me a moment to explain.

For one, you should check out Barbie’s vlog series if you haven’t. The series has some great messages and themes for everyone, regardless of age.

For two, today’s post was inspired by a vlog by Barbie that’s gaining a TON of traction, and that is the “Sorry Reflex” vlog. If you haven’t seen it, I’ll include it below, please take the few moments to watch it before proceeding:

In the vlog, Barbie makes some comments regarding “sorry”- specifically regarding women and our seeming overuse of the word “sorry.” She comments on how it seems like a reflex, that women seem to apologize just for existing most of the time. Some examples she cites are “when we bump into someone we say , ‘sorry’, when we go to a restaurant, and the food’s cold, we say ‘sorry, but could you heat this up for me?’ and so on.”

And you know what? I watched this vlog and I began to notice all the ridiculous things in my life that I apologize for. I apologize when I ask for help with something I don’t understand, I apologize when I feel like I’m “being a burden.” I apologize when I express myself. I apologize for being too excited, I apologize for being too sad, I apologize for being angry, I apologize for telling others how I feel. I apologize for everything, it feels like I’m apologizing for existing.

I began to wonder, why do I constantly apologize for things that don’t warrant an apology? Why do I constantly feel like everything is my fault? Am I apologizing too much?

I could get into all the sociological reasons why women apologize so much, but I won’t here. What I want to talk about is how to stop this reflex, and how to mend your self-esteem while ending the “sorry reflex.”

Barbie also mentions in her vlog, that instead of “sorry” we can say “Thank you.” And I think that’s a very powerful thing.

Saying “Thank you” in lieu of “Sorry” can really help to mend your self esteem and spread positive vibes. Instead of saying “sorry for bothering you with my problems” say, “thank you for listening to me.” Instead of saying “sorry that I’m a burden/didn’t understand this thing,” say, “thank you for helping me.” Instead of “sorry, can you heat this up for me?” say “Can you heat this up for me? Thank you.”

It is truly empowering and freeing to let go of “sorry.” It’s liberating. Instead of feeling like a burden for existing, I feel like I can properly express my gratitude to those around me for all that they do for me. I feel as though I am showing my true feelings, not exposing my vulnerabilities.

So, Royals, I want you to try this. Stop saying “sorry” for every little thing and try replacing it with “Thank you.” Note how you feel afterwards. At first it may seem uncomfortable, because you’re so used to “Sorry.” But after a while, it’s liberating. I encourage you all to try this exercise.

Oh, and one last thing, don’t discount the lesson just because it was discovered from Barbie. You can find true gems of inspiration in the most unlikely of places.

You know what, I'm at my limit today.

LOOK AT THIS POST FOR REFERENCE!!

Look, I have no problem with KiriBaku. And I definitely don't have a problem with Kirishima or Bakugou.

And anyone who had been following my blog long enough knows that Midoriya is my favorite character, my #1 along with Miruko.

Here's a simple answer as to why.

He is a flawed character. There isn't just one side to him. He's not some "uwu" baby some of you like to make him.

I, myself, do like pure characters. I adore Eri and Koda.

But Midoriya is just not one of those characters.

The fact that this person here said they don't like Midoriya because he's "too pure" did in fact annoy me.

Because why in the fuck do you like Kirishima?

No, no, let's put it out there.

Kirishima is more of a "sunshine, pure" character then Midoriya is. His appearance makes him look like he isn't and he's not a "shy" guy like some "too pure" characters are. But out of him and Midoriya, Midoriya would be likely to kill an enemy out of rage than Kirishima would and not even think twice about it.

"Main character halo"... I THOUGHT WE WERE ALL AWARE THAT IZUKU MIDORIYA IS THE MAIN CHARACTER!! JEEZ, I WONDER WHY HE SEEMS TO BE WRITTEN TO FEEL LIKE A MAIN CHARACTER!!

Which I find absolutely damn hilarious because Kirishima is more "typical shonen protagonist" than Midoriya is. You can check mark more shonen protagonist traits off Kirishima than you can Midoriya.

Not that smart? Check.

Spiky hair? Check! Bonus points because it's red!

Good guy personality? Check!

Also hot-bloodied and manly? Yep! It's there!

Rivals and friends with a grumpy guy with little effort of said rivalry and friendship happening in the first place? CHECK!!

If I first got into BNHA without knowledge, I would have thought Kirishima was our guy.

"I stopped watching at like Season 1, midway through season 2".

So you stopped watching before you even got to the character development? Not just for Midoriya, but for everyone?

Wrong time to be stopping the anime and then coming back to put your two cents in because if you continued to watch the anime, you would have seen that Midoriya isn't all that "pure" of a character.

I don't expect everyone to like Midoriya. In fact, that's more elbow room for people who do like him. If he annoys you, I don't care. I won't hold it against you, we all have those characters that annoy us.

But if you're seriously going to say he's "too pure, too good", I'm calling bullshit. One, you didn't continue the anime and I have doubts they even touched the manga, so you're missing a lot of things here. Two, if you don't like him but somehow like Kirishima, that is a little hypocritical.

And three, which I need to people to understand, just because a character happens to be a good person, doesn't make them "pure".

Midoriya is not a "pure" person. If you get past season damn 2 and lay off the fanon interpretations of him, you'd see that!!

I just know this person wanted to bother someone out of boredom because I mentioned in that post how I like Midoriya and you haven't even been actively watching the anime since what? 2017-2018? Sorry, no friendly greeting is going to fool me.

Disappointed, but expected. I'm not surprised because almost everyday someone does something that can only disappoint me.

Kirishima would be very disappointed in you, too.

You’re right, maybe the ask didn’t go through. I was asking about your opinion on why do you think louis was the most ‘sabotaged’ one out of all of the boys? He is blacklisted from radio, didn’t release his first album until 5 years after the hiatus (although i’m sure there are other factors affecting this, but in 2018 he said he wanted to release an album and then we got txf instead), and not to mention bg and the long term gf, i’m sure he fights against all this behind the scenes but why do you think he’s the one suffering from it the most? And i was looking through your hiatus tag and came across a post you reblogged (third one in your tag, genuinemusic is the OP since i can’t figure out how to link it) i’m sure louis was very aware that the band needed a break but do you think that maybe louis on board with the hiatus until he was hit with babygate? Which made him less confident in taking a break? So sorry for bothering you again but i really appreciate your opinions! Hope you’re okay!

Hi darling. Oh, I never saw your original ask, so it must have gotten eaten. So sorry.

So, I still think that post holds an interesting theory. Louis has said that the last year or two of the band was when he had felt the most confident, so it would stand to reason that this could roll over into feeling more confident in the idea of having a solo career.

In regards to how babygate affected that, I really think that when it began he thought it was going to just be a few rumors and then it would be cleared up. It was just another way to make him look straight and keep his name in the papers. So, no. I don’t think it would have affected his confidence in the beginning about a solo career. Although, as the months went by, he must have seen how it was affecting the way his fans saw him. So… Maybe?

Honestly, I think he may have had a normal level of stress about going solo, or even just stress about not having the comfort of something he’d known for the previous five years, until babygate became such a mess and he was saddled with another beard and his mom got sick… Plus, I’m sure Simon was in his ear like a venomous snake every chance he got, trying to undermine him. All of that may have played on his ability to think clearly.

As for your question about why he was sabotaged, obviously none of us know, so it’s all theories. My best guess is that Louis was a fly in the ointment from early on. From what the other boys always said, Louis was the one who stood up to the people in charge and really fought for the band. But worse than that, Harry fell in love with him and mucked up Simon/Sony’s plans to have Harry go solo after the first couple of albums. I really think if “Larry” didn’t exist, they wouldn’t care all that much about Louis, and likely they would have let him go off and sign with whomever, the same way they let Liam and Niall.

So, I don’t know. I think everything a music label does is driven by the desire for more money and more power. And controlling someone like Louis gives them a sense of power. And in many ways, I think it also gives them some control over Harry. The sabotage, or whatever you want to call it, seems like a personally motivated vendetta but it happened to Michael Jackson. And Prince. And George Michael. And thousands of lesser known artists. 🤷🏻‍♀️

hey how are u? i hope you're doing well, i'm sorry if im bothering you, but i have this problem and i thought that you could help me. you see writing is my passion, but whenever i try to write something, even if the story is already planned, i can't. i'm afraid that my writing is not going to be good enough, that i'm not going to be able to write something deep and meaningful, also i compare myself with other authors. i know that i shouldn't but i can't help myself, i read what they write and think "they're way better than me, maybe i should stop writing, i'm only going to make a fool of myself" but this only makes me sadder than before. so I wanted to ask you: what should I do? Is it normal to feel this way? How do i overcome this inferiority complex?

did you see what i was posting back in 2017-2018 because all of that is actually painful for me to look back on because of how poorly written EVERYTHING was like bballcaptain!yoongi barista!kook even ceo!yoongi i cringe but i still did it because what mattered was that i liked writing and i wanted to write stories for people to make them smile and laugh and cry and clutch their chests!!!

the only thing stopping you is yourself!! the only thing that should matter is that YOU love doing it and you want to do it -- and i totally understand the anxiety that comes with thinking you're not good enough or you're not as good as other writers (i think about this all the time and i get super self-conscious and want to burn my entire blog down when i read stories here that are SO well written) but tbh life is so short so do what you want and have a good time doing it :-)

November 17, 2018.

I was at a grocery store, struggling to reach an item on one of the higher shelves. I sighed and was about to give up when I noticed a tall man standing nearby in the aisle.

“Excuse me?” I called out, loud enough for him to hear but using the kindest voice I could.

He turned his attention to me, and I smiled, dropping my eyes, “sorry to bother you. I’m too short to reach the top shelf, could you get something for me?”

“Yeah, of course,” he walked to my side, “what do you need?”

I pointed, “that blue one, please…”

He grabbed it without struggle and handed it to me. “Do you need anything else?”

“No, this was it. Thank you so much,” I smiled at him again, although I was avoiding eye contact. “Have a nice day!”

I grabbed my cart and walked away, continuing to shop.

November 18, 2018.

Julius said he wanted to introduce me to his best friend. His name was Raphael and they had met in high school, and were still good friends. Julius scheduled a hike for the three of us, and Raphael showed up at J’s house that morning for the hike.

Julius and I were already outside. I followed Julius as he and Raphael met in the middle of the lawn. “Raphael, meet my girlfriend Dolores,” Julius said, giving him a hug and then stepping over a little to allow Raphael and I to meet.

“We already know each other,” Raphael told Julius, and then looked at me and smiled. He was tall, dark haired and dark eyed, tan brown skin.

“Really? Where’d you two meet then?” Julius asked him curiously.

“The supermarket, she couldn’t reach a shelf,” Raphael laughed.

“That was you!” I gasped and then went to give him a hug, which he accepted, “Thank you so much for the help yesterday.”

I pulled away within just three seconds of the hug. Julius was smiling, content that we had already met and would get along, “seriously man thanks for helping her. She’s small and shouldn’t be left alone in a world made for tall people.”

I found out, years later, that Raphael never stopped thinking about that first hug from me.

These are all totally genuine questions, I'm not trying to be rude or snarky at all, just trying to clarify and learn! This subject has always kind of confused me... But just curious about your tag about the last time net neutrality came around - wasn't it kind of always around unofficially/there were no rules really before being solidified in 2015 and then they repealed it a couple years later? Do you mean you lost 3k followers in 2015 or when it was repealed? And how does net neutrality make you lose followers - isn't it basically just about all sites being treated without discrimination by internet providers? Again, genuinely asking!

Hi anon - you haven't followed me long enough have you? hahaha :) I don't want to talk too much about it (especially since, well, I lost a lot of followers, the most I ever had in my life), but I will answer, since I think it's an important topic and that well, it brings up an important discussion about what content is "allowed" by the masses especially when you're a blog that isn't fandom or random.

TL;DR is that when Net Neutrality was threatened (idk, 2017? 2018? can't remember, it's late at night here so I can't be bothered to google when exactly, but you get the gist), I posted a lot about it, trying to bring awareness and showing that YES this is an important topic and people should be aware - I don't want to pay a premium internet service to get on Facebook, or have my connection drop because I want to go to tumblr and tumblr didn't make an agreement with my internet company to provide faster service. This was especially important for me, since I was long distance with my boyfriend at the time-now husband, and the only way to connect with him (for free, as you know long distance calls - phone calls - are insanely $$$$ and I was a poor grad student) was over the internet - we used Skype and Facebook and I couldn't imagine being in a position to have to pay extra to access the websites I used to connect with him. I did post a lot about it. Unfortunately, and obviously, that didn't go over well, because I'm a Fitblr™ who is only allowed to post Fitblr™ Things™. I'm not a person, only a curator of Aesthetic™. So, yeah, LOTS of people left and unfollowed me around that time. 3k worth. In fairness, I did post quite a bit (well, I was anxious about it! I'm sorry!), but it wasn't more than a few posts a day for a couple weeks? Idk. Didn't seem like a lot at the time, but perhaps it was. Since I wasn't a random blog, I had a Blog Theme™, and in hindsight that's definitely why people unfollowed - they didn't want to see or hear anything that wasn't my theme- fitblr. They wanted fitness and health and food content, they didn't want to see some political(?) BS. I don't blame them at all, yet on the other hand I guess people have to realize the people running these different themed blogs are... people? And at the time, it was absolutely an outlet for my anxiety and stress. I was being overworked and burned out in grad school, and the thought of losing access to my person - was unbearable. And the way to feel more in control? Post about it. I couldn't donate money, and I didn't want to protest or sign petitions (shit, I didn't have time tbh), but at the bare minimum I could post about it on my blog to gain awareness.

I was being snarky the other day when it was trending again, so obviously I needed to reblog the Destiel meme and add my snark tags because, that's how we tumblrians do it. Because, well, good riddance, people suddenly agree five years later it's an issue and are suddenly actually in support of net neutrality!!! I was mad so the snark came out, and honestly I shouldn't have posted that. But I was snarky. Good riddance. I was right all along. And, I'll even say that in the body, not the tags.

Hi!! I dont know where else to go but im suspecting i may be on the schizo spectrum? Or at least just wondering way too hard. And i have no where to look into more trustworthy specifics besides brief nformation about the common disorders (that i dont really think i fit into at all btw but then again im undiagnosed with everything so im forced to rawdog it and come to conclusions on my own) and no where to find information about specific symptoms that can be overlooked as "normal behavior"

I have psychosis and its been like this since 2018, slowly growing, getting more intense i guess especially during a traumatic event that happened a few years ago *really* increased my delusions. Thats the only primary thing i experience i believe, but now looking back i am unsure if i experience some level of hallucinations as well like thinking im seeing flies n such fly around me trying to bother me or bugs crawling near me in the corner of my eye. Though it may be because im sleepy or something as i like to stay up a lot! And maybe because ive dealt with annoying flies one too many times that im just paranoid abt dealing w them now.

this thought has been on my mind for a while (mainly speaking in terms of hallucinations) but recently i saw a post on twitter about someone asking if other people "have intense fear of monsters or the dark" before going into deph about how her brain is constantly afraid of her life will turn into a horror movie. Like "what if a zombie breaks into my house" and her brain imagining scary scenarios that genuinely terrify her when she does anything. And reading that sounds very familar to something ive experienced even to this day, esp if im alone at night or alone n looking into another room thats dimly lit.

I really do understand her fear of closing her eyes n seeing scary scenarios. Ive noticed ive weirdly been seeing stuff too, mainly faces and eyes that i would see when watching analog horror and it *really* terrifies me and makes me think that ive somehow spawned it in real life (esp if i think about it too much)

Sorry if this is too long. I normally do this when im rly stumped abt whatever brain thing i got n no google search can help me. I guess im just lookimg for some insight. Thanks! <3

What you're describing, intense fear of hypothetical scenarios and "closed eye hallucinations" are both things that I can definitely relate to as constants in my life. I don't have enough information from just this ask to say whether your experiences are full blown delusional/psychotic, but regardless, it sounds like it's taking a toll on you, and have been getting worse. It's common for this type of experience to worsen with stress, so it's no wonder it worsened when you were going through something traumatic.

When I first talked to a psychiatrist about some of my beliefs, they wrote something that I later found kind of interesting, that some of my beliefs were like those of a scared child. As if I had never quite learned how to regulate that type of fear and my imagination would get the better of me. I don't know if your experience is anything like that, but from the way you described it, I thought that might be relatable to you.

The line between fear, anxiety and psychosis can be hard to define. One thing I've learned is that most people with "pure anxiety" are not having anxiety about bizarre or paranoid things, but about more mundane matters that have been blown out of proportion. But obviously there's variability. But I remember when I met my partner of now... 9 years ...? I wasn't diagnosed with anything yet, and we were both like "yeah I have anxiety" and thought we knew what the other meant by that. And then they were confused when I was like "yeah I'm anxious that the spirit of the lamp will steal my soul, and that people are putting poisoned coins in public spaces". But like the anxiety was similar, it's just that the things I was anxious about were odd, I guess.

Anyways, I'm rambling, sorry!

About the images you get when you close your eyes, that is most often described as a type of intrusive thought, and I've also heard people call them "closed eye hallucinations". I get icky and scary images like this sometimes, and it can be really distressing.

I hope your symptoms don't get worse, and I hope you can feel at ease knowing that no matter the exact cause or name, you are definitely not alone with having these experiences, and they are common experiences for people on the schizospec and people with some other related difficulties.

And if you find that you relate to the schizospec experience, there's space enough for everyone, and you are welcome here. Even if you don't fit any specific disorders or you conclude that your symptoms are "sub-clinical" or more related to something else, I believe in an open door policy and I think anyone with this type of experience can benefit from spending time in/with the community, and can bring unique insights to the table themselves.

Edit: It might give you some insight to look into other symptoms associated with the schizo-spec, like negative symptoms, cognitive symptoms and ipseity disturbances :) I think that will give you a stronger idea of whether you are likely to relate to most of us 🌼
