man living in the countryside can suck because you're not a priority when it comes to disasters. my family had to live in a no heat, no electricity, no hot water house for two months when i was kid not because we couldn't pay the bills but because an electric line went down during a snow storm on our street and we weren't important enough to get it fixed in a timely manner.

So I've been stuck on the couch with a cold all week and today, instead of relaxing like a normal person, I made this floor plan of the living quarters of Icarus Hall. Figured I'd share it here in case anyone else needs help visualizing where everything is. (It's easier to read if you view it full-sized.)

I based this mainly off of blueprints from the set designer's website and various shots from 4x10, but I am fully confident that it is not to scale and some of it is wrong. The furniture (especially the murder board and some of the tables) moves around from episode to episode.

The location of Nancy's bedroom is purely an educated guess—in 4x10 Nancy is standing in that bend in the hallway and looks back in that general direction, presumably toward her bedroom.

A genuinely horrible thought just occurred to me. Would everyone please pray that the court does not order me to put my children in public school so that I can go get 'a real job'?

#So far every time I have asked that my husband be required to pay child support the response has been “Why aren't YOU working”#I am. And also homeschooling my eldest and taking care of my younger two. But it's not good enough.#I am making slightly less than minimum wage so it's not good enough.#(He is perfectly able-bodied and currently unemployed and is contributing precisely nothing to their upkeep.)#...I trust that God would not bring us this far just to abandon us now. But I genuinely do not see how He is going to do this.#From my limited human perspective it is impossible.#I don't know how I'm going to get all the bills paid this month. Or next month. Or the month after.#The roommate did not contribute to rent at all this month. I have rental insurance and rent and the Sam's membership and electricity #(why is the electricity so high. Why. Why why why. I have cut down as much as I possibly can)#and phone and diapers and I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting there always is.#I'm trying so hard not to fret because I know we're not supposed to but I can't quite rid my body of tension and I'm trying not to rail at #my husband because I know I'm not supposed to but #...I'm scared.#I'm honestly not sure if this counts as #Screaming into the void #or #Nattering into the void #Edit: the roommate did help with rent yesterday but the website had not updated to reflect it. i just spent the last week sealed away in my room thanks to the air conditioner, only coming out to go to the bathroom, bring food to said room and ocasionally go to the supermarket

I HATE THE SUMMER, I HATE THE HEAT SO MUCH, I HATE THE MULTIBILLON DOLLAR INDUSTRIES THAT ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO REDUCE GLOBAL WARMING WE ARE BEING BOILED ALIVE, WE SHOULD NOT BE HAVING A THERMAL SENSATION OF 42°C NOT EVEN 33°C AT 9 PM

Two more sleeps, and then I move into my place ahhhhh

I've decided to go ahead and finish packing tonight, but I don't have a lot left - just my work clothes, shelf-stable kitchen items, and everything I have in the living room (which isn't much). I need to take pictures for the movers as soon as I get home and text them over.

Tomorrow I'll go ahead and take the headboard off of the bed and put my daily use items (face wash, shower stuff, prescriptions, et al) in my luggage. On Friday morning I'll put my bedclothes in trash bags, we'll move everything, and then I'll come back during the day to clear out the fridge and freezer and vacuum my rooms. And then I am free! I may treat myself to a high-end pastry from the new "provisions" shop downtown, or maybe I'll just take an afternoon nap. I think I'll be really jazzed about getting the bedroom and kitchen set up so I'll do that first.

I can't worry about my roommate anymore. She hasn't gone to work all week but also hasn't been home, and she hasn't asked me once about the roommate search (didn't find one). She has not looked at me or spoken a single word to me since I told her I was moving out. I hope she's taking care of herself but at this point it's not my problem. I've apologized and tried to atone but she is too busy holding on to anger about what she thinks has been done to her. In 48 hours I will never have to worry about it again.
