Something I just realized, is that Loki and Sylvie not only are the same person in different timelines, but that they have also both been, once, a single conciousness, one person in the same sense in which I am one person, or you are one person. Meaning they would share childhood memories.
Let me explain - I would like to draw a distinction between two types of variants in the show, let's call them surviving variants and free variants. Free variants are all people existing naturally as a result of the multiverse endlessly expanding. An example would be the three Peter Parker variants, or all variants we see in What If...?. There's an infinite number of free variants because there is an infinite number of existing universes.
Surviving variants are the tragic result of TVA pruning. Most die during pruning sessions, but a few lucky ones make it out through fighting or the TVA's will. These would be all of the main characters in "Loki". This Loki is a surviving variant, so are Sylvie, Mobius, O.B, Renslayer, etc. Even the other Lokis at the end of time are surviving variants. The difference between these surviving variants is that, because their worlds were pruned, they are all that's left of them. They have no timeline they belong to and nowhere to go back to. Even after the multiverse is released, trying to go back to your original timeline would mean there's already yet another you in your place, because killing HWR means all timelines were retroactively never pruned, so you (minor y) were never taken from it, but You (capital Y) are still left as the aftermath of a destruction that never took place in this new reality. Sylvie couldn't go back to her Asgard if she wanted to, because that Asgard was never pruned, she was never taken away from it, and there would be another Sylvie (maybe still named Loki) in there, being her parents' daughter and brother's sister, a free Sylvie/Loki in the place that was once our Sylvie's. I think that's the true tragedy of surviving variants. The newly released timelines don't have a vacant spot for them to return to.
Now, why do I think that means Loki and Sylvie come from the same one entity? In a canon divergence kind of way. Since the release of the multiverse, no new surviving variants could be created. You only have free, natural growth variants, and these variants could have a multitude of origins. Let's take the Peter Parker example again. These three Peters have the same name and powers, and roughly the same stories and personalities. But they look quite different. They aren't fully equal - for example, one of them can shoot webbing from his wrists while the other need mechanical devices to do so. You can name more examples if you rewatch the film, which I'm not going to do simply for the sake of making this one post. You know what I mean. The point I'm trying to make is that it's safe to say they are different. Maybe their parents conceived them on different days. Maybe a recessive gene here and there got out in one of them but not the other. As for the wrist webbing, maybe the spider was slightly different. You can come up with a million watsonian explanations as to why they're different, and I think it's safe to say they're different people, even if they'd be genetically the same as if they were brothers. If we continue to examine their differences from a watsonian perspective, we can even say when the split in the timeline ocurred: definitely before they were born. Peter Parker is a human being, and unlike Lokis, he can't change his appearance with magic, so their physical differences must be genetic. This sets these three variants apart from the Doctor Strange variants we've come to know, who all look like Benedict Cumberbatch. Again, watsonian lenses: if they're all Benedict Cumberbatch, they must all have split paths sometime after Strange was born. Otherwise they'd look completely different.
So you'd assume all Loki variants are different people if we go by looks alone, but all Loki variants we'd had the chance to know are surviving variants, not free variants like the Peters and Doctors Strange. Loki variants came to be when Loki in the old Sacred Timeline decided to go a little off the paved road. And we know they act quick - as soon as someone steps on the wrong leaf, a line shoots up at the TVA monitor. Nothing goes unchecked. Nothing goes unseen. Not a single mistake is forgiven.
So Sylvie being a girl wasn't what set off the TVA. Sylvie looking different wasn't what got her world pruned. If I remember correctly, as a young Loki, she was playing with toys when she got captured, so it could be something as simple as picking up the wrong toy. Something pathetic and insignificant. Maybe the Sacred Timeline dictated Loki would pick a toy knight instead of a toy horse, so young Loki is taken from her home to be judged and pruned for it, but she escapes, changes her name, dyes her hair, spends centuries on the run.
Our Loki picked the right toy. He lived by the Sacred Timeline for long enough to survive, but he made a mistake in the end and he was captured too. Eventually, he met himself, a Loki that was captured many centuries before.
But that isn't another Loki from another timeline - that's him, before they split when they took different toys, or sat somewhere else to play, or had a different thought at the same time. They were cut in two but before they were one and the same - a single Loki who became two.
As for their appearance, I'd simply point to the idea of Loki being a genderfluid shapeshifter. If it were anything else, such as Laufey having a daughter instead of a son, both Laufey, his wife and new child would have been pruned centuries before. Loki and their timeline survived, though, and kept growing branch after branch forever.
I think this interpretation adds another layer of depth to Sylki that I'd love to explore. The idea of both of them sharing a same conciousness once, a same body - changed and shifted but still the same - the same memories even, would be beautiful to watch, and it would help ground their oneness and sameness on a more solid base. Talking about the childhood mischief they enjoyed when it was only one Loki, their mother's love, the memory of being one, the anger from Sylvie's part knowing she did get to live in Asgard for centuries - only it wasn't her, but the other her, who threw it all away in a fit of greed, almost being glad she escaped that destiny, asking Loki what is it that he made of her life and hating him for it, yet knowing the seed of the anger had been in them since childhood - she simply forgot about it when everything changed. The cosmic horror of being one person turned into two. Love bringing unity to them again.

"You look enchanting in your gown, Daughter," your mother, Lady Sif, remarked as she looked over your wardrobe for the banquet tonight. She lightly touched the necklace you chose to accompany the cream-colored silk strapless gown, the pearls matching the shade of your dress so perfectly it was as if you were styled by the gods themselves. "Your necklace…it's beautiful, dear Y/N. Where ever did you get it?"
"Midgard," you answered plainly. "They have some exquisite jewelers in that realm, Mother. We should pay a visit there one day, see their creations."
"I did not know you had a suitor who went all the way to Midgard to procure you jewelry," she said in awe. "Tell me about him."
"Suitor?" You snorted at your mother's line of thinking. "Mother this was not from a suitor, this was from Loki," you laughed. "He went to Midgard after his latest trip to Niflheim."
There was an uneasy feeling in Sif's heart as she weighed your words. Loki had never been the kind to bring home souvenirs, let alone gifts. She had never even seen him bestow anything resembling a token of appreciation to the lovers he had taken on in their youth. This behavior of his was foreign to your mother, and it didn't sit right with her.
"It's funny," you continued. "When he first showed me this I thought he'd gotten it for Astrid. She expressed such interest in courting him and I thought--well, never mind what I thought, it turned out not to be the case." You chuckled, and it sounded so innocent as you'd finished your sentence.
Truly Sif wished to not color Loki's actions in her head with any trace of malice, for surely the intentions were not as lewd as the implications that her mind was conjuring. Perhaps he only wished to make up for the centuries worth of time lost with you. And besides, he'd mentioned that he was still searching for the person that his heart would yearn for, the one he would find ways to move the very realms for, when he'd first returned to Asgard a few years ago.
Unless…he'd already found her. And she was about to enter the banquet celebrating the Summer Soltice wearing his color around her neck.
No. Impossible. There were lines he would not cross. The rumors that had spread throughout the centuries, the millennia, were untrue. They all knew it in their bones; people just needed a figure to turn into a lech, and he was too absent to defend himself. Hence the rumors of fathering Hela. The rumors of fathering a horse. When in truth he was careful, and meticulous, in choosing his lovers.
Was it possible that that level of care and scrupulousness led him to you?
She shook her head in disgust at herself for even thinking that way. He was her brother now, too. Family. And family did not dare to think so horrifically of one another the way her thoughts just led her to.
"Well," she spoke once she found her voice again, placing her hands on your shoulders. "Your uncle has impeccable taste. It becomes you."
You gave her a smile and told her you'd see her at the banquet. When she exited your room, she ran into the very person putting a portion of her mind at a state of unrest.
"Loki, just the prince I was looking for," she called to him.
"Good afternoon to you, too, Sif." His face stayed stoic as ever, but his eyes flickered just by a fraction of a second to your chamber doors. Just long enough to warrant your mother narrowing her eyes at him.
"Brother," she started through nearly gritted teeth. "I'm positive that I am imagining things, but on the off chance that I am not…" She placed her hands firmly on his upper arms, grabbing harshly. "If you do anything to hurt Y/N, there will be nothing left of you for my husband to grieve. Are we clear?"
"I've no intentions of hurting her, Sif. You have my word," he choked out, everything in him tensing under Sif's grip.
"Good. Then we're clear. I suppose I'll see you at the banquet." With that, your mother walked away, her concerns dissipating. But her suspicions of Loki's intentions remained.
Tumblr media
When you walked into the grand ballroom within the palace, the place was bustling with citizens of Asgard and guests alike. People were dancing, mingling, nibbling on tiny sandwiches and various forms of fruits and cheeses. You spotted your parents with ease, giving them a little wave, as well as the Warriors Three not far off.
Fandral gave you a little salute, Hogun a small raise of his hand, and Volstagg giving you a close-lipped smile as he chewed through a significantly larger sandwich.
As you looked through the ballroom, you caught sight of your friends, Halley and Narda, by the table holding beverages, and they were waving you over. While you made your way to them, your eyes were drawn to a small gathering of women not far from your friends, giggling and--Norns, were some of them twirling their hair? Like the Midgardian adolescents?
The recipient of their attentions, you discovered, was Loki. When your eyes met his he greeted you with a bright smile, which you returned with a playful smirk and a raise of your eyebrow as you subtly nodded toward his group of admirers. When you reached your friends, they enveloped you in a warm embrace. "You're absolutely stunning, Your Highness!" Narda exclaimed, her fingers daintily tracing along the necklace. "And your jewelry is otherworldly! Truly befitting of royalty," she giggled. "Where did you get it?"
"Midgard," you answered, both their eyes widening at the answer. "It was a gift."
"An admirer with exquisite taste?" Halley squealed. "Perhaps he can make his intentions known? And perhaps he has some friends?"
"Halley, behave yourself," you chuckled. "It wasn't an admirer, it was Loki."
"Oh," Narda sighed. "Well, at least Astrid wasn't around to hear that. She's still sullen over his declining."
You noted your friend's absence. "Where is our dear Astrid anyway?" They motioned toward the admirers surrounding Loki. "Ah. I see. Well we must credit her persistence. She has it in abundance, it seems." You and your friends chuckled at your words.
"It's just such a shame that you're no longer a named heir for the throne. You would make such an excellent King," you heard Astrid's voice echo in your head, followed by agreements from ladies that were too far away for you to hear.
What in the Nine Realms?
"Y/N, darling. Don't be alarmed. It's just me. I believe you've the right to hear this," Loki's voice now floated in your mind. How was he doing this?
"I mean, Your Highness," you heard Astrid continue. "In order for you to become a named heir once more, it would mean that the current heir would have to surrender her place on the line of succession. Or…something unfortunate were to befall her." Your heart dropped at your friends words. Was she honestly suggesting that she wished for Loki to take your place in the line of succession through something so…tragic?
"The Princess is a very intelligent woman, and I have no doubt she will be an excellent Queen when the time comes," you heard Loki answer them. A small smile appeared on your face as you heard his confidence in you delivered in his tone.
"But you would be much better. Especially if you were to have an…equally excellent Queen by your side." She truly was persistent, wasn't she? "If only there were a way to restore your position. Perhaps you could persuade Y/N to relinquish her position. Or perhaps…"
And then you heard Loki once more. "Y/N, this woman is no friend of yours."
You'd decided you've heard enough, and walked toward the admirers, toward the two-faced lady in waiting.
Tumblr media
There were no words to properly articulate how abhorrent the suggestion being given to Loki was, but there was a word he could use to describe how he felt at this moment: nauseated. For anyone to ever think he had it in himself to harm you, over something so trivial as a title and power? Over anything, truly.
To betray you? He would rather suffer for the rest of his life than betray you.
He knew that it was a perverse invasion of privacy to breach into your mind the way that he did, but he needed to find a way to inform you of the offensive suggestions being given to him. A way to make you aware of the alliances of the people who dared call themselves a friend to your face. He would apologize for it later; it was more imperative that this information would not escape you.
He suppressed a smile as he watched you from your place at the drinks table, straightening your posture and squaring your shoulders, as you made your way over to them.
Loki had known from how you handled the would-be assassin from the morning you'd been introduced that you had a rage inside of you that burned almost as intensely as his. He had no doubt that despite your history with his mother's lady in waiting, you were going to set her straight. By force, if you must.
What he wasn't prepared for, however, was your voice.
"Perhaps what, Astrid?" Your words echoed throughout the ballroom, demanding — no, taking — the attention of everyone in attendance.
Astrid looked unfazed by your tone, a forced smile finding itself on her face as she turned to face you. "Princess! What ever do you mean?"
An all-knowing smirk graced your features as you imitated her voice with an astounding accuracy. "Perhaps you could persuade Y/N to relinquish her position." He noted how her body stilled, as if she had frozen over. "Or perhaps…so continue, Astrid. Perhaps, what? Because surely you did not mean to imply that perhaps I could meet an unfortunate end so that Loki would take my place in the line of succession, did you?"
"Y/N, how absolutely naughty of you," she teased. "Listening in on conversations that do not concern you. How ever did you hear us anyway?"
A derisive look entered your eyes. "Let's say I have my ways. You'll find that those loyal to me are quite…creative, in their ways to keep me informed." His heart swelled at your faith in him, at how confidently you spoke of his loyalty to you.
And then he heard your voice in his mind. "I am to do something you might think reckless. Scold me about it later, but for now, all you need to do is act truthfully." Fear settled in his stomach. What were you up to?
"Well I can assure you, Your Highness, it was all a spot of fun," she cooed at you. "I meant no malice, my friend." Her lies were so blatant, the god could nearly taste them, and it nauseated him.
"Well perhaps it's wise for you to leave the 'spots of fun' to those knowledgeable in the difference between mischief and treason. Such as Prince Loki. Such as myself."
"Treason?" Her voice had raised an octave, grating on his ears. "Your Highness, I assure you—" You held your hand up to stop her from talking.
Then you turned to face him, tilting your head. "Do you want it?" Did he want what? He wanted many things involving you, most of them involving closed doors and a silencing enchantment, the remainder being his desire to roam the streets of Asgard hand in hand with you. To explore the Nine Realms with you by his side.
"Sorry, darling, you'll have to be more specific," he bantered with you. "It's quite the open-ended question you've presented me."
Your smirk once again had him wishing he could simply pull you in and kiss you, that it could be that simple, and you would simply be his already. "Do you want my place in the line of succession?"
So that was what you meant by something reckless. "My dear," he started with a tone of caution. "Who wouldn't want the chance to rule?"
You tilted your head once more. "So then take it." You walked up to him, hands behind your back and looking up at him with big doe-like eyes. Norns, he wanted to kiss you. Desperately. "I'm right here, Loki. I'm the only thing standing in the way of you claiming a secure spot in the line of succession for the throne of Asgard and the Nine Realms. If you want it…" A borderline sadistic smile colored your face. "…then you'll have to kill me. Because I refuse to surrender."
What are you up to, little Princess? he thought to himself. His breath caught in his throat as you stepped even closer to him. So close he was sure you could see his pulse erratically beating against the skin of his throat. "Y/N, darling…"
"Shall I make it easier for you?" you whispered. He held on to the memory of how your voice sounded in this precise moment, storing it for nights ahead when he wished you would whisper more tawdry thoughts. In bed.
You eyed the dagger that he displayed in a holster by his hip, and fear sunk in to him. Please don't do what I think you're about to do. But you did.
In a flurry of movements, you grabbed hold of and unsheathed his dagger, he grabbed hold of your hand, and you twisted yourself into a position in his arms, dagger held to your throat, his hand firmly over yours, trying desperately to hold your hand away from your body. "Y/N, stop this," he hissed into your ear.
"Do it," you said loudly, for everyone around you to hear. "If you truly wish to rule you have to make some sacrifices, my Prince." You started to squirm your body in a way that would bring the dagger closer to your neck, so he wrapped his free arm around your waist and pulled you against him, keeping you steady.
"I will not harm you, Y/N. I could never," he whispered. He spoke the truth. The thought of you harmed by his own hand was enough to turn him inside out. The throne was not worth losing you over. He loved you too much.
Fuck. There it was. Those words. The very ones he tried so hard to squash every time his mind wandered to the life he wanted you both to have so desperately. He loved you, and not in the way that he should. Not in the way of family.
Loki was in love with you. You and your reckless little self with a death wish, pointing his dagger at your own throat to make a show in front of the backstabbing lady in waiting you'd once called your friend.
"Your life is too steep of a price to pay for a crown, darling Y/N. You're too precious," he said loud enough for them all to hear. "If you doubt my loyalty, Princess, then I have clearly not done enough to prove myself."
"No I know you wouldn't harm me," you announced to the crowd as you released yourself from his admittedly dangerous embrace. And then he watched as you looked directly into Astrid's now wide-set eyes. "But she needed to see. Because now you see, Lady Astrid, that your way to the crown would not be through seducing your way into Loki's bed and convincing him to turn on me. You sorely underestimated his fealty to me. And hilariously overestimated mine to you."
"Your Highness, please." Her tone was different now, approaching her next words with caution rather than flippantly letting them loose as she did earlier. "I swear to you I meant no malice."
"Daughter, explain to me now what is the meaning of all this ruckus??" your father's voice boomed from behind the two of you as he grabbed hold of your shoulders. "Is it true the whispers that I heard? Did Loki have an attempt on your life??"
"I told you if you did anything to hurt my daughter--"
"MOTHER. FATHER." You shrugged off Thor's grip on you and held your hands up, standing in between your parents and Loki. "Please, I implore you to desist. Now." They took a step back. "Any whispers that you might have heard is entirely my doing. I was safe the whole time."
"Technically you weren't, Princess, since that was still a sharpened dagger you chose to--"
"Not now, Loki," you commanded, holding a finger up in his direction.
"Y/N, if you are lying to protect him, I will hang him myself," your mother threatened.
"And if either of you make a move against him before I am even given the chance to fully explain, then you will have to go through me to do so," you bit back in an equally threatening tone. "Believe me when I say that the only witting party in this entire charade was me. He had no clue what my plans were."
"She didn't even give me a moment to prepare, all she said was she was going to do something reckless," he offered, earning glares from your parents.
"No," you protested him. "I said  I was going to do something you might think reckless. And before you say anything in comment about said reckless thing, I also said you can scold me about it later. Later hasn't come yet."  You faced your parents once more. "I took his dagger. I pointed the dagger to my throat. All he was doing was trying to stop me from hurting myself. It painted the exact image that I needed people to see."
"But, Granddaughter, why would you do such a thing?" his mother spoke up, walking to the middle of you and your parents, taking position of mediator. "What could have compelled you to act so dangerously?"
You took a  breath. "Lady Astrid tried to convince Loki to kill me so that he could take my place as Father's named heir. I simply pulled this entire charade to demonstrate to her that that was an exercise in futility."
"My Queen, please, that is simply untrue. She's clearly conspiring with the God of Lies to concoct this heinous story against me," Astrid lied through her teeth, sounding as if she was on the verge of tears. Your parents hateful glares moved to your former friend.
You placed your hand on Loki's arm to call his attention to you. As if you even had to; it never left. "You can cast illusions, correct?" He nodded at you. "Can you project a memory? Into someone's mind?"
"In theory. I've never had to do it but I believe it can be done."
"Then project what transpired tonight. To Grandmother. She's all you need to convince." He stepped toward his mother, who gave him a knowing look, and then closed her eyes, signaling her consent to let him project the memories.
"Y/N--"
You took one of his hands into yours, giving him a reaffirming squeeze. "You can do this. I believe in you." His heart swelled at the faith you had in him once more, and he took a deep breath and touched the tips of his fingers to his mother's temples.
A few moments passed, and she let out a gasp, opening her eyes and turning to your parents. "She speaks the truth. Loki was unwitting in her plans. This one was implying that he could become your named heir if something were to happen to Y/N." She faced Astrid. "You will explain your actions, but first…" Then she turned to face Loki. "My son, the way you chose to convey your message was a breach into Y/N's mind, an invasion of her privacy--"
"He had my consent, Grandmother, it's alright." The god tried to keep his expression unchanged as he heard  you lie so smoothly. "We've conversed this way before. This is no matter of concern, I assure you."
"If you insist, Granddaughter." She turned to face her lady in waiting again. "Lady Astrid, explain yourself."
"The remarks were simply made in jest, My Queen."
"And yet earlier you opted to perjure yourself? Were you dependent on my inability to uncover the truth, child?" The Queen gave you a look and nodded in your direction, and you took that as your cue to step forward and overtake the impromptu trial.
"No! No, Your Majesty, I swear upon my life--"
"Ooh, don't go swearing on anything so flippantly, Astrid," you cooed, mimicking  her tone from earlier. From when she underestimated your retaliations. "After all, your life might actually be on the line tonight."
Stop thinking about her using that voice in the bedroom, Loki scolded himself. Now was not the time for his imagination to indulge in conjuring up what fantasies will keep him company for tonight. Not in the presence of your family, the one you shared with him, but not truly. Not by blood. But by bond? By bond, absolutely.
"Princess, truly, it was meant in jest, all of it!"
"Even the part where we're supposedly conspiring to concoct this heinous story against you?" you bit back, making her go pale. She wasn't getting out of this unscathed, clearly. "Astrid, I'm not sure if you're aware of my roles and responsibilities, but I assure you that it is not simply sparkling gowns and floating around the streets of Asgard contributing to the aesthetics."
He smiled to himself at your flourish upon saying 'floating around'. You may be more than just a contributor to aesthetics but he had to admit your presence always did make any place you were in exponentially more stunning than before you entered.
"You see, Astrid…as future Queen of Asgard and the Nine Realms, I have certain royal duties I must fulfill. One of which is deciding the punishments befitting certain acts of crime. The area I chose to specialize in? Acts of treason. And…" you turned in a circle to address your parents, your grandmother, your grandfather who just arrived to the mayhem, and Loki. "You're all free to correct me should I speak in inaccuracy, but if I recall, conspiracy to murder a member of the royal family is, in fact, an act of treason."
You paused to look at your grandfather, his eyes  widening as he began to absorb the context of what was happening, fury dancing in them now as he nodded his agreement. A single nod his way and you continued. "And conspiring to kill a named heir…should entail an even graver punishment, I believe. And now I'm left to decide…what ever am I going to do with you." Astrid's eyes widened at your words. "I will take into consideration your testimony that you made your initial comments in jest, do not worry." You gave her a tight-lipped smile, the kind that made Loki's blood chill. The kind that displayed a cruelty in you he wished he would never receive.
"Thank you, Princess," she squeaked. "It will never happen again."
As she started to step aside and away from you, you motioned for the guards to block her way. "I'm not finished, Astrid. I said I would take it into consideration. I never said that your testimony would absolve you of your crime. You are yet to receive your sentence." You took a deep breath and began to walk around the space that had been freed up for you. "An act of treason this severe is deserving of the most extreme punishment available, of this you can be assured. Now, when someone is found guilty of such crimes, I have a few options to choose from when it comes to their sentence."
You stepped close enough to Astrid that the god watching you was certain that you could now see the sweat beads breaking through her skin. "I could choose to strip you of your position. I could choose to strip you of your title, your property, and all your possessions. And in turn I could choose to extend that sentence to your entire lineage." The whimpers coming from the girl were audible, but everyone listening could tell that she was too afraid to dare interrupt you, for fear of you worsening her sentence.
"Now if I were a malevolent ruler, which I don't wish to be, I could disregard your sworn statement, and sentence you to the full extent of my powers, and perhaps even request for special authority to extend those powers, given that while I am a named heir, I am not Queen. Not yet. I could banish you, and with that I can carefully and scrupulously choose upon which realm you are banished to. Or I could have you executed, even opt to become executioner if I were feeling particularly vengeful. I could choose how quick and merciless it would be, given we do have history and I can factor in sentimentality when doling out your punishment."
You let out a dark chuckle as you saw the tears begin to form in your former friend's eyes. "Or I could take that history, and that sentimentality in the other direction. Throw my compassion out the window, and prolong your suffering. Torture you within an inch of your life, bring you to the healers to restore you into your former unharmed and unscathed state, and repeat the process again. And again. And again." You leaned in even closer to her, your breath surely fanning across her face as she shuddered, although Loki couldn't tell if it was from fear or from rage. "Until you're begging me to kill you."
"Princess, please--" she choked out. "I swear to never betray you--"
"You truly favor such extreme statements, don't you, Astrid?" you laughed. "You swear on your life. It will never happen again. You swear to never betray me. But I know you will. I know not when you will. It could be tomorrow, it could be next week, it could be decades from now, but I see it in your eyes. I know you will. But…tonight I choose to take into consideration your statement, our history, and my sentimentality and compassion. You won't be banished and you most definitely will not be executed. Not for words you made in jest."
Your emphasis on the last words made it evident enough to Loki that you didn't believe her statement, and you were doing this out of mercy, not gullibility. You knew just as well as he did that she meant those suggestions genuinely. From his position, he could see the slightest tremble in your hands as you continued, and he knew in his heart that despite your tone, despite the authority you displayed, you were not relishing in this moment. You had just been betrayed, and you were cutting ties with someone you'd known, someone whose company you once treasured, for centuries.
It was all he could do not to walk to you, wrap you in his arms, and whisk you away from the heartache you were expertly hiding.
"I will, however, take something of great value to you," you continued. "You are stripped of your title as lady in waiting to the Queen and Allmother. Furthermore, barring any kingdom-wide celebration, you are forbidden from entering the premises of the palace."
"Princess!" she yelled. "Please, be reasonable!"
"Reasonable?" you spat out. "Astrid, had you gone for someone distant from me in my family's lineage, or someone estranged from me, your betrayal would not have hurt as severely as it does." Loki could hear the sobs threatening to break through in your words. "Instead you chose to attempt to conspire with one of the people closest to me. Someone I love." His heart stopped at your words once more. He refused to ever take for granted the fact that he had that standing with you.
"You will never fully comprehend the pain you caused me today, and truly I hope you never will. But I wish for you to be able to go the rest of your days knowing that had I decided on your sentence in accordance to the pain you dealt me, I would have banished you to Muspelheim to become Surtur's plaything with nothing more than the clothes on your back." Your hand was shaking more erratically now, as was your voice, and Loki couldn't bear it any longer; he walked over to you and took your shaking hand in his. It was as if you'd visibly calmed as you squeezed his hand and took a deep, steadying breath. "Instead I am sending you home. So do believe me, Astrid, when I tell you that this? This punishment that I am sentencing upon you for your betrayal tonight? This is me being reasonable."
Astrid choked as she sobbed, her new reality beginning to sink in, her hatred burning in her eyes. "Very well then. I will retrieve my belongings and--"
"Oh. No, Astrid." You nodded toward the palace guards and they approached her. "You will be escorted off the palace grounds and back to your family home. There the guards will explain to your family, with a sworn statement signed by myself, what transpired here tonight, and why you've been stripped of your position. I will send you your possessions in the morning." With another nod at the guards surrounding her, she was escorted away from you and out of the ballroom.
Loki felt a hand on his shoulder, and he turned to see his brother. "Brother I owe you an apology." He motioned towards Sif. "We both do. To both of you."
You merely nodded at your father before walking away and making your way back to your remaining friends. He watched as they enveloped you in an embrace, the disappointment rife on their faces. He saw them mouth sentiments that they'd not known Astrid would be such a traitor. For some reason, he found himself believing them, that they'd not known how deeply the woman's jealousy of you truly ran.
"She trusts you," he heard Sif comment once her husband had gone. "Possibly more than she trusts anyone. And she's protective of you." She gripped his arm tightly once more. "My promise still stands. If you hurt her, there will be nothing left of you for Thor to grieve."
"If I hurt her, there may be nothing left for you after she's done with me," he answered, earning a proud smile from your mother. "There's a rage in her. She exerts an extraordinary effort to hide it, but it's there."
"It's much like yours when we were younger. I can barely imagine the chaos if you two were to burn in that rage together." Her hold loosened. "Your presence calms her. I saw it. You are not her blood. She knows that." His blood began to run cold. Did Sif know of his affections? How could she possibly? "And yet she treats you as family all the same. All I ask is that you take care of her. Protect her when you can."
He let out a sigh, though if it were one of relief or underlying disappointment at the reality that the words you meant earlier was that he was someone you loved as you loved Thor and Sif, he couldn't determine quite yet.
"With my life, Sif," he promised, and she walked away from him, making her way back to her husband and the Warriors Three, who were currently singing the praises of how fiercely you'd handled such a shock to your system today.
Of course he, too, was filled with pride on how you'd handled this adversity, and he would gladly sing your praises alongside them. After he made sure that you were alright. Your emotional state at this moment was more important than cementing your legacy through songs about the story of tonight.
Your friends were off dancing with a couple of noblemen when he made his way to you, leaning against a pillar, daintily sipping on a cup of wine.
"Are you alright?" He gently placed his hand on your back, and he was nearly moved to tears as he felt you relax and choose to lean against him instead.
"Truthfully? No. She was my friend, Loki. I thought that I was hers, too." He wrapped his arm around you, holding you closer to him as he felt you shaking. Almost violently. "When she betrays me again, and I know she will, it will be worse. I saw such hatred in her eyes, and now that I know what it looks like I feel like a fool. Why didn't I ever see it before? She always had it, hiding in plain sight."
"You chose to see the good in her. That does not make you a fool, darling."
"I fear that she would attempt to use you to--"
"Y/N, stop." He took the cup from your hands and handed it to a member of the palace staff before taking your hand in his. "There is not a soul in the Nine Realms that could ever make me betray you. You need to know that."
"I know you couldn't," you answered him. "I know it in my bones. Which is strange because I have this belief that anyone can betray anyone. With the right incentive. The right motivation. But you…I look at you and I know you could never. That you're the exception. I just--I know not why. And I care not why."
Because I love you, he wanted to tell you. I love you and I would rather suffer the most torturous execution you can conjure in your brilliant mind, for the rest of my days, than even think of doing anything to hurt you. Instead of uttering those words that could damn him for the rest of his existence, he placed a tender kiss at the top of your head. A gesture of comfort, yes. But also a gesture of love. Of protection.
"I need to be away," you whispered.
"Y/N, no. You shouldn't be alone--"
"I said I need to be away, not that I need to be alone." You looked up at him, and he saw the tears swimming in your eyes, threatening to escape them. "I need to cry and I'd rather not do it in the presence of the entirety of Asgard."
"Come with me." You nodded and followed him through the halls of the palace until you reached a place that held no guards, no staff, and no prying eyes and ears to see or hear you in your vulnerable state.
Unfortunately, for Loki, he thought the fates cruel creatures with a borderline offensive sense of humor. For when he said that he desired to be with you behind closed doors with a silencing enchantment in place, he did not ever wish for it to be because you were both on the ground, him cradling you in his arms, while you screamed and cried your heart out.
Tumblr media
A/N: Really? That was the moment he realized he's in love with her? God these two are so messy and for what--
Also, I wish I could say that it was, but this isn't the last time we're gonna see Astrid…She'll be back…eventually…
Also fun fact: This entire outtake is longer than the entirety of the main story. The main story has 5.8k words.

YOU'RE IT FOR ME
SUMMARY ; you and Natasha argue over your mission gone wrong.
supersolider!reader x natasha romanoff
angst/fluff.
fighting/blood/injury/swearing word count;3.4k - this is my first ever attempt at writing anything. im so sorry if its terrible.
As always Steve woke you up at stupid oclock in the morning to brief you on a quick unexpected intel mission. He told you the base you were being sent to has not long been abandoned and if anyone was there, to eliminate the threat like you always do. Lucky for you, you had super-solider serum running through your veins so this mission was simple and easy for you to complete alone. You only had to retrieve some files on HYDRA creating another super-solider serum.
However Natasha wasn’t too happy about you being woken up so early meaning she had to wake up to a cold bed and you were nowhere to be seen throughout the whole compound. She looked around for you everywhere only to end up running quite literally into Steve, he obviously knew who she was looking for and finally spoke up, “Oh, if you're looking for Y/N, they went on a quick mission.”
“What do you mean a ‘quick mission’, they would have come to say bye?” Natasha responded suspiciously due to the fact that you would never leave without saying bye or giving her a quick peck on her lips regardless of how long the mission would take.
“A quick intel mission, the only person I could see who had potential in succeeding was them. Woke them up 3 hours ago, they should be back within 2. They’re fine Natasha, you don't need to worry.” Steve thought to quickly remind her that you were more than capable than going on a mission alone and that you certainly didn't need to be worried about, you’re a super-solider for god sake.
“OK, just next time notify me too when they’re going so I'm not walking around looking.” Natasha walked away straight after that proceeding to the training room to blow off some steam about the fact that you didn’t say bye.
Meanwhile
you had got to the base a little over 2 hours ago, and when Steve told you this base was abandoned you had no idea why you actually decided to believe him. The base was in fact NOT abandoned and within the first 10 minutes of you slowly making your way to the base from the quinjet you was swarmed with at least 10 HYDRA agents. You worked as quickly as you could taking out the threats left right and centre with your guns and some quite literally being thrown straight into some trees. You managed to get the agents down in record time, you was quite impressed with yourself to say the least but you knew you should call for backup, you reached for your comms only to be met with a sickening buzzing sound surrounding your ear drums, you threw your ear piece onto the floor and just continued towards the base. At the end of the day you still had a mission to complete after all.
You finally made your way into the base to see that maybe Steve was right about one thing: the base itself was abandoned but the surroundings were not. “Idiot” you thought to yourself about Steve sending you on a mission with not all accurate information.
You’re making your way through the base using your enhanced hearing for anything that doesn't sound right, guess it's somewhat of your lucky day when you hear nothing so you continue your path down the long narrow corridor to finally reach the head scientists room to gather the files about HYDRAs own knowledge on developing a new form of super-solider serum. You always wondered why people had an obsession with powered and enhanced people but at the same time you understood why. You just wished yours wasn't forced on to you and that you were given a choice but you were soon to be one of HYDRAs secret weapons, but when the Avengers found you, you had just been injected with the serum. The Avengers were infiltrating HYDRA bases when Lokis scepter had been stolen, they found you just in time and took you in straight away.
Plugging in the usb drive to transfer all data, the transfer popping up onto the screen telling you that it would take 10 minutes, “Easy enough.” that's what you had thought until you could hear footsteps coming from down the corridor. Quite heavy, long strides, possibly over 6ft tall, only one person, even better. You made your way to hide behind the door so when it opened you could attack right away, but that never came. Instead a metal arm came crashing through the wall you were standing up against grabbing you by the throat and throwing you half way down the corridor, it took you a moment for you to try and stand up but by the time you was about to stand a fist was already being swung towards your face, keeping you locked on the floor below him. You knew this soldier was like you, you could feel it but you also knew that you might not get out of this fight easily, they were much stronger. That face looked familiar, the blurring of your vision from the hits making it harder to properly see but you knew it was familiar. The beating continued with left and right hooks being thrown against your face, the blood rushing out of new cuts across your face, your busted lip and most likely broken nose. You couldn't give up. You knew that for sure. You managed to find the strength to start dodging the punches coming right at you but you knew you needed to get that drive and get going quickly. Rolling out from underneath the soldier as they went to drive their metal arm straight into your face you grabbed your gun and shot the soldier in the stomach and sprinted  back to the room to collect the usb and get going, you knew it was the only way to run rather than end up dying here alone. You finally reached the doors of the base to continue your sprint when you heard that sound of a bullet coming straight out of a gun, it buried itself right into the back of your left leg but you had to keep moving, the blood gushing from your face and now from your leg reminded you to definitely tell Steve to “fuck off” when he comes into your room before the suns even up again. Continuing the sprint, you started to only imagine one thing. That Natasha was going to have your head when you got back to the compound.
You could see the quinjet right in front of you and you had never been so happy to see one so much in your life but just as you was to step one foot onto the jet another two shots were heard behind you, you KNEW this soldier wasn't going to give up and you definitely knew they would keep up with you. The bullets finally lodged themselves into your body, one straight into your right leg and the other straight into your lower back coming out through your stomach. This wasn't good. You were just about on the jet pulling yourself up as the option to stand wasn't even an option anymore, telling FRIDAY to close the hatch and get in the air and back to the compound as quickly as it could and make sure to have medical on stand by as you land. Moving yourself to try and sit in one of the chairs holding pressure to your gunshot wound in your stomach, you heard a familiar voice ring through the speakers of the jet.
“Y/N come in, do you copy?” Natasha. Just as you go to open your mouth to reply your vision starts to blur and all that you manage to croke out are inaudible slurs, until your vision completely goes black.
To say Natasha was pissed off at Steve and you was an understatement. Oh if looks could kill Steve would already be 6 foot under. They stood on the landing pad waiting for the quinjet to arrive back at the compound but what they were expecting was not what they finally saw when the door to the quinjet opened. There you laid on the floor, choking on the air and laying in a puddle of your own blood, paler than anything they had ever seen. Before Steve and Natasha could even make it to the quinjet fully, the medical team were rushing in and putting you on a stretcher taking you straight into surgery. Natasha didn’t even make a move she stood there completely lost with that imagine in her head, but as soon as a doctor shouted you had no pulse it was like she was snapped back into reality her body was on flight mode, she made the move to try and run to you as quickly as possible but Steve had already grabbed her round the waist and was holding back against her vicious punches and kicks shouting at him to ‘let her go or he will regret it’. The sounds of Natashas shouting soon caught the ears of some of the other Avengers, running outside one by one came Wanda, Bucky and Sam. Confused by the commotion until they finally heard the sobs of Natasha in Steve's arms and the puddle of blood in the quinjet, they instantly knew this was about you.
Natasha had been pacing around the waiting room for 2 hours now, everyone telling her, you're ok and the surgery will be over with soon. But they didn't know if you were ok and when the surgery would be over they just wanted Natasha to sit down and stop pacing. Just as Natasha finally took a seat a doctor walked straight in front of them staring at Natasha.
“Are they alive?” Natashas voice coming out weak filled the waiting room, the anxiety from the question entering everyone's mind to know the truth.
“Yes”
They all finally let out a breath none of them knew they were holding. Natasha finally looks down and letting some more silent tears roll down her cheeks, she looks up at the doctor.
“Can I see them?” no one has ever heard Natasha sound so weak and vulnerable, they all knew yous were together, yous never kept it a secret openly flirting in front of everyone and you making it very clear who Natasha was to you at parties when you'd go up to her at the bar and put your arms around her waist and start slowly kissing her neck no matter who she was involved in a conversation with. But no one had ever seen this side of your relationship, the hard side of worrying and panicking when one of you was injured or on a mission. The vulnerable side and lets just say you and Natasha were not ones to let people see you both so small and fragile.
Following the doctor into another room there you laid on the bed your stomach wrapped tightly and also your legs, the bruising on your face a nice bright purple. Your skin had slowly started to have more colour in and Natasha had never been so relieved. She made her way over slowly towards your bed afraid any type of sound would wake you up. She wanted you to rest, but part of her wanted to shout and scream at you for not calling for backup or even just turning around and coming back home. Turns out she wasn't as quiet as the sound of the chair moving wakes you up from your sleep.
The bright lights make you hiss and groan. You make your way to sit up thinking it was all a dream, that is until you feel two sets of hands on each side of your body pushing you down.
“Lay back down y/n, you're hurt.” Natasha, there it is again that sweet voice you've spent months waking up too, but it's different. It sounds broken like she has been crying and is about too again at any given moment. Opening your eyes was a struggle but you finally got there. In the room stood Steve, Wanda, Sam and Bucky and sat next to you ever so gently holding your hand is your Natasha. You go to turn towards Natasha but Bucky catches your eye, everyone sees the hesitance in whether or not you want to finally speak.
“He looked like you.” that's all you manage to choke out before Nat is passing you a cup of water to drink slowly. Everyone starts to look around confused straight from you back to Bucky. Until you finally speak up again.
“The guy that attacked me at the base, thanks Steve by the way maybe next time send two people instead of one into an ‘abandoned’ base, yeah abandoned my arse.” Everyone smiles at your sarcasm but quickly pushes that to the side to ask the question everyone is so desperate to know.
“Babe, what do you mean by he looked like Bucky?” ah, Natashas voice, you simply turned and smiled at her squeezing her hand.
“Well like I said Talia, he looked exactly like Buck. Metal arm, red star. Long black hair. All the facial features are the same but not the eyes, they just looked black. Was hard to know for definite with the amount of punches I was receiving but if no one was to know Bucky like we do, then people would be sure that the Winter Soldier is alive and well.”
Bucky stood there dumbfounded not even knowing what to say or even think, everyone just looks confused at what you’re saying it makes no sense but then again yous are all in a room with three super-soliders, a witch, a highly trained ex-assassin and a guy that has robotic wings for christ sake.
“Ok i think we should all take a break give Nat and y/n some space ok? Come on guys, we can debrief you later y/n/n yeah?” Steves the one to speak up this time probably too confused and tired to have this conversation.
“I know what you're gonna say Tasha, and i'm not in the mood to hear it so can we leave the telling off until tomorrow? Ok, thanks means a lot.”
“No. we are talking about this now so it can be over with and we can move forward. Its simple really y/n/n youre a fucking idiot!” her voice starts to get louder as she continues her rant.
“You call for backup no matter the excuse you call for it or you get back on that jet and come back home no mission is worth more than your life you know that! Ugh, i’m so fucking angry at you for being so fucking reckless! You could have died? Why can't you see that? Just because you have that serum it doesn't make you invincible you know that but you've acted it! All of this for some files? How can you expect me to not be upset or angry? You’re my partner, and i love you more than anything but when you act like this it makes me think if you are even thinking about me when youre risking your life for some stupid usb.” she looks away as she continues to cry, your brain now trying to process all of these words but also all of these emotions. Wait, did she just say she loves you? You have been together for nearly a year now and neither of you had even said that yet, you both knew it but never dared to say it.
“You love me?” it's your turn to choke out now, you know you love her but one minute she is calling you reckless and an idiot then she is telling you she loves you?
“Of course i love you, you fucking idiot!”
“Ok, ok, still mad i got it” she slowly turns to glare at you this time but she sees your tears slowly rolling down your face and she instantly softens her glare. You take her hands into yours and you know you have to say it back because if you don't she is going to be even more mad than what she already is and one thing you don't want to deal with right now is a mad girlfriend because she is so scary.
“Hey Talia, listen ok? I love you too. I do, I really do. I'm sorry i was reckless, i should have come back but it was like my body was on auto mode and yes like you said that isn't an excuse i know that ok. I thought i'd be ok on my own and well clearly i wasn't as i’m in a hospital bed but i’m here. I know we both worry when we go on separate missions and I know you probably worried more because I didn't come and say goodbye but I was hoping to be back by the time you woke up. Steve said it was abandoned and when I got off the jet and started walking no one was there and then I was ambushed by some guards but I took them down with ease and there was no one else in sight, my comms went off and they were buzzing and I just carried on. I needed to do this mission baby, I needed to get this information about the serum so we can try and stop HYDRA creating more soldiers and putting them through pain. I’m sorry I've hurt you, I didn't mean to do that, I was just doing my job but I'll tell Steve for next time that if i’m to go on a solo mission that you need to be with me ok? No more solo missions, not just for me but for everyone. We need to be safe. Especially with another Winter Soldier walking around like he owns the place ok? I love you Natalia, I’m sorry.” you've already lowered your head at this point too embarrassed by telling her we all need to be safe and that you love her.
You feel one of her hands move from yours, you think she is gonna walk out but instead you feel the softness of her fingertips tracing the bruising on your cheekbones before you even have the chance to hiss at the tender touch her lips are pressed so intensely against yours. You've kissed many times before but this kiss, it's just so different it's as if she is trying to tell you exactly how much she loves you and how much she is happy you're here just by this kiss. You move your hand up to her face and slowly move it round to play with the hairs at the back of her neck, she hums and slowly stops kissing you. You didn't want that kiss to end and you groan in frustration and she chuckles at your little outburst, Nat leans her forehead against yours and finally lets out a breath. You're ok, she knows it now.
You both sit in comfortable silence for a while forehead to forehead until you feel a shooting pain in your stomach, you hiss in pain and move away to lie back down on your back. Natasha is up in an instant thinking she has hurt you but you're quick to calm her nerves.
“Baby it's ok, just some pain. Come and lay with me, please?” you pull your puppy dog face, a face you know she cannot resist. She simply smiles and makes her way back over to the bed as you shuffle over to make room for her. The next minute you're both lying and she is snuggled into your side, your hand drawing patterns on her back and her arm ever so carefully laying above your wrapped stomach.
You understood why she was mad at you, you put your life on the line and didn't think twice about how she would feel with the consequences. You hated yourself for that, you knew you'd feel the same if it was her laying here injured and not you but it wasn't.
The room was silent, a comfortable silence. One you and Natasha both could just relax too.
“When I said I love you y/n, I truly meant it. You're it for me” she moved her head off your chest to look into your eyes, her eyes held so much emotion and you knew right then and there again like you had known for the past year that you were going to marry this woman.
“And you're it for me Natalia Alianovna Romanoff. I love you Talia, forever and always.”

The Runner
(Part 2 here)
A/N: Okay so I've been writing this for a while and only just finished it but I'd like to know whether you guys would like me to turn this into a series? This part works well as a stand-alone but can easily turn into a series if you would like!
Word count: 3194
Summary: The reader works as a runner on the set of Infinity War and developes a bond with Chris Evans.
(SPOILER WARNING: There is one spoiler for Infinity War in this fic, but I'm sure many of you have seen it anyway)
--------------------------------------------------
“Black coffee for Mr Evans please! Black coffee!” A man called over the radio. Your ears pricked up and you ran into the kitchen to make a black coffee. You came charging back out and headed straight for Chris Evans’ dressing room, but his assistant jumped in your path.
“I’ll take that to him.” He said, snatching it out of your hand.
This was your first time working as a runner and you were starting to get the hang of the job. You had only been working there for three weeks and you had about 8 months to go. You were highly excited to work for Marvel, being a fan yourself, but you hadn’t met any of the cast or even the directors. You had caught small glimpses of them but never had any interactions. You had a lot of responsibilities as a runner - making tea and coffee, handling the paperwork, assisting anyone who needed it - and yet you were just chopped liver to everyone on set.
-------------------------------
Another month had passed and you had grown closer to the other runners, the kitchen staff, the cleaners and even the third assistant directors. You were far more comfortable in your job and you even had the opportunity to stand with the third assistant director and watch them film Loki’s death scene...though not your favourite thing to witness.
You still hadn’t interacted with any of the cast but you were used to that by now. It was mainly running orders for everyone and handling the secretary-type roles, which you didn’t mind doing anyway.
Call after call came over the radio with people demanding all sorts of coffees and teas and hot chocolates and cold drinks. Enough to keep you on your feet during the long days. There was a break in demands when they were setting up ready to shoot another scene so you stood with your work friends for a chat before the room had to fall silent. One of the runners let out a small gasp and directed you with their eyes. You turned around to see Chris Evans walking behind you, heading onto set. He turned to you all and gave a little nod and a smile before carrying on. Your heart fluttered. Chris Evans just acknowledged your existence. A stream of small shrieks and giggles came from your group as everyone tried to compose themselves before filming commenced. That was your day made.
------------------------------------
“Black coffee for Mr Evans please! Black coffee!” A man called over the radio. Same guy every day, always his assistant. You quickly marched into the kitchen to get his coffee ready before anyone else did. Strong black coffee with one sachet of sugar. You grabbed the cup, marked it with Chris’ name and strolled over to his dressing room. Once again your luck had vanished when his assistant jumped in front of you and grabbed the cup.
“The order is absolutely correct, yes?” His assistant asked, like he did every time you brought the coffee.
“She makes it the majority of the time, I’m sure she has the order right by now.” Said a voice from behind you. You turned around to find Chris Evans smiling at you. You gave a shaky smile back.
“You know, you make my coffee all the damn time and I don’t even know your name.” He said. You gave a shy giggle. There was a pause.
“So...what is your name?” He asked.
“Oh, um, sorry, yeah, it’s Y/N”, you responded.
“Y/N. Very pretty name. Well, thank you Y/N for the constant coffee. I’ll make sure you deliver them straight to me next time.” He winked at you and you giggled again. His assistant cleared his throat.
“Mr Evans you’re needed in makeup now.”
“Yes thank you Darren. And how many times do I have to tell you to call me Chris?” He huffed. He gave you one last smile and walked off. You were in heaven.
-----------------------------------
A week had passed and you hadn’t interacted with Chris since. Every time there was a call for his coffee, you were busy doing other jobs. You had sorted out multiple paperwork, made drinks for crew members and you were currently assisting the cleaners in cleaning up a very messy set after they had stopped shooting a scene. You didn’t mind because the cleaners were all lovely people, plus it gave you a bit of a break before running all over the place. You were kneeling on the ground sweeping up the smaller bits with a dustpan and brush until a pair of feet suddenly appeared in your eyeline.
“Missed a spot” came a voice from above you. You looked up to find Chris Evans towering above you. He winked.
“You’re everywhere at the moment. I’m sure this isn’t in your job description.” He said.
“It’s not, but the more hands on deck, the quicker this gets cleaned.” You shrugged. “Plus, I don’t mind, all of these people are lovely to work with.”
Chris smiled at you and bent down to help.
“You’re an A-List celebrity, you shouldn’t be cleaning up this mess.” You said.
“You’re right. I’m far too big of a diva to clean.” He replied. He flicked a tiny stone at you and you gasped.
“Now is that any way to treat your staff?” You teased, throwing a bit of soil on him. He laughed and you continued to throw bits of rubbish at each other until Darren appeared.
“Oi! You there! What do you think you’re playing at?!” He asked you.
“Oh, I’m sorry we were just..”
“Chill Darren, I was helping her clean up and I started the rubbish fight.” Chris interrupted.
“Well, you need to be resting. You have a big scene coming up.” Darren huffed.
“It’s fine, I was resting then I got bored and now I’m having fun.” Chris responded.
“Fun? With a runner? I highly doubt that. You best head to makeup and get yourself cleaned up.” Darren said to Chris. He then shot you a glare and marched off.
“Sorry about him, he’s very pompous.” Chris apologised.
“It’s fine. I’m used to it.” You said. Even though you were used to people degrading you for being a runner, it still hurt when they did.
“Well you shouldn’t be.” Chris said. He reached out to squeeze your shoulder but was interrupted by Darren yelling “CHRIS!” at the other end of the room.
“I better go before Sir Shouts-A-Lot yells at me again.” Chris said. You let out a little laugh and watched him leave.
-----------------------
Two more weeks had passed and you had only spoken to Chris on the odd occasion that he would pass you on set. Every time there was a coffee call, Darren made sure someone else made it to stop you two from interacting. You couldn’t see what his problem was but you chose not to kick up a fuss anyway.
When your break finally came around, you grabbed a cup of tea and decided to walk around the studio...just so happens that along your walk was the caravan park where all the actors stayed on set. You heard a familiar voice behind you and your heart dropped.
“Oi! What do you think you’re doing back here?”
You froze.
You slowly turned around, ready to face the wrath of Darren, when, to your surprise, Chris was standing there grinning.
“Good impression, no?” He chuckled. You let out a long sigh.
“Jesus, Chris, you nearly gave me a heart attack.” You scorned, but you couldn’t help smiling,
“On your break?” He asked, gesturing to the tea in your hand.
“Yeah, only a short one though. I get to finish early today.” You said.
“Oh nice! I’ve already wrapped for the day myself. Say, did you want to do something when you’re finished? It’s cool if not, I just thought it would be nice for us to actually talk and maybe become friends? Without the demon on my shoulder.” He said. You smiled instantly.
“I finish in 2 hours, I would love to do something!” You said, maybe a little too enthusiastically.
“Okay okay, um, I have a few movies back in the caravan if you wanna pick one later?”
“Sure, sounds like a plan. I’ll run over as soon as I’ve finished.” You smiled at him.
“It’s a date.” He winked at you and walked away.
Time was moving slower than ever. You kept checking your watch to see how much time had passed but it was only ever a couple of minutes. You decided not to look at your watch for a while and carry on with your duties. The next time you looked at your watch you had half an hour left. A wave of excitement came over you and you went back to finishing up your jobs.
Finally, the time had come.
You finished the jobs you were doing, collected your belongings and clocked out. Butterflies swarmed your stomach as you walked off set and into the caravan park. That’s when you realised you had no idea which caravan was Chris’. You walked up and down and scanned each one, careful not to look like a creep. Suddenly, the door of the caravan on your right opened and Chris stepped out.
“You’re not lost are you?” He asked, smiling.
“I wasn’t sure which was yours, they all look the same,” you said, shyly. He chuckled and invited you in.
You stepped into his caravan. There wasn’t a lot of stuff as it was only a temporary home, but it was still enough to produce a warm ambience. He gestured at you to sit down on the sofa, opposite the tv.
“I have chocolate, popcorn, sweets...salad...what do you fancy?” He asked.
“They’re all fine...except for the healthy stuff, that ruins movie time,” you said. He laughed and poured the sweets, chocolates and popcorn into separate bowls and placed them on the table in front of you.
“Drink? I’ve got fizzy drinks, water, hot chocolate, tea, milkshake...um...black coffee…” he said, you chuckled.
“A milkshake might be nice if that’s okay?” You asked, he nodded and said he was gonna have one too.
You couldn’t help the mix of nerves and excitement flowing through your body. You were sat in Chris Evans’ caravan...with Chris Evans! It really was a dream come true. You tried to calm yourself before you had a fangirl attack but it meant you came off quite shy and quiet.
“Here we are,” he said, placing the milkshakes on the table. “Are you warm enough?” he asked. You noticed you were sat on the sofa looking quite tense. You nodded.
“I’ll get blankets just in case,” Chris said. He went into his room and came out with two large blankets. He passed the softest one to you. You thanked him and adjusted yourself, taking off your shoes so you could sit cross-legged on his sofa with the blanket draped over you. This made you feel a bit more relaxed.
“So, um, what do you fancy?” he asked. You bit your tongue to stop you replying with “you”, you felt it was far too soon in your friendship to make a joke like that.
“Um, Captain America?” You joked. He giggled.
“Nuh-uh, not happening. Try again,” he said.
You had a small discussion on the types of films you like and you settled on Deadpool. Still a great Marvel film, just one that doesn’t have Chris in it so he didn’t have to stress about watching himself.
Chris put on the film and sat next to you, he grabbed his own blanket and draped it over his long legs. He offered you food and you kindly accepted. You both sat in silence whilst the film began, though you kept having to bite your lip to stop you from smiling so much.
About 45 minutes into the film, Chris started to get fidgety, so he tried to adjust himself without making too much noise. In the process of moving his hand, he accidentally scratched the sole of your foot. You let out a squeak and pulled your foot away.
“Sorry, sorry, that was an accident,” Chris said, apologetically.
“It’s okay,” you said, relaxing a bit but praying that he didn’t notice your squeak. You didn’t notice him giving you a side-eye with a puzzled expression on his face.
He sat still for a few minutes then went to adjust himself again, this time deliberately scraping his nails against your sole. You squealed louder and tucked your foot under your leg. You looked over at him and he had a wicked smirk on his face.
“You’re not ticklish by any chance, are you?” He asked, the corner of his lip curling up.
“N-no, you just made me jump,” you said, unconvincingly. He narrowed his eyes but let out a “hm” and turned back to the film.
You were a lot less relaxed now. You were ridiculously ticklish but only a handful of people knew. The trouble was, you did enjoy being tickled but you were always embarrassed by how ticklish you were. Your heart was pounding at the thought of Chris Evans discovering this weakness.
A few more minutes had passed and you couldn’t properly relax. You were still sat cross-legged but your foot was tucked further under your leg this time. Chris let out a little yawn and stretched, you flinched at his movement but still kept your cool. He noticed and tried to hide his smile. When he put his arms back under his blanket, he casually let one hand slide over and gently tickle your toes. This time you let a small giggle slip out and you clamped your mouth shut.
“I think you are ticklish,” he teased. Your heart did a somersault. He gave you a playful smirk and the nerves washed over your body. You couldn’t even find the words to speak. He reached over and grabbed your foot with one hand, pulling it out from under your leg, and he used his other hand to tickle your sole. You shrieked loudly and tried to tug your foot away but his grip was too strong. You couldn’t even twist that far away because of how you were sitting. You fell backwards into the sofa and kept giggling.
“Chrihihis plehehease,” you giggled.
“Aww look at you, you’re so ticklish,” he cooed. You lifted up your blanket to cover your bright red face.
“Oh no you dont,” he said. He stopped tickling your foot and lunged at you, pinning you down to the sofa. You screamed at the sudden attack and pulled the blanket further over your face. He shook his head and vibrated his fingers into your tummy. You shrieked loudly and used one hand to bat away his hands.
“Come on, I wanna see your face when I tickle you,” he said. Your laughter shot up an octave when he started squeezing your hips.
“Oh? Did I just find a bad spot?” He asked. You kept trying to bat him away with one hand but it was no use.
“Remove the blanket or I’m gonna make this worse for you,” he said, sternly.
“NEHEHEVER!” You shrieked under the blanket.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” He shot his hands under your arms and you screamed loudly. You couldn’t keep holding the blanket over your head with him tickling deep into your armpits. You slammed your arms down and the blanket fell off you in the process.
“That’s better, I can see your face when you laugh now,” he said. The feeling of his fingers wiggling deep into your armpits was absolute torture.
“Surely it doesn’t tickle this much?” He asked. You shrieked loudly and your laughter grew more desperate with every tease.
“Does it tickle more when I mention how much it tickles?” He asked, clearly aware of what he was doing.
“SHUHUHUT UHUHUP!” You cried. He laughed with you which made it worse.
“Ohh, cootchie cootchie coo,” he said in a high pitched teasing voice. That made you scream more and frantically try and buck him off you.
You thought that would be the killer move? Oh no. Not for Chris. He picked up the pace of his wiggling fingers in your armpits and bent down to nuzzle his beard into your neck. His longer hair brushed over your ear too. This was the killer. It was absolute torture. He blew a raspberry into your neck and you fell into silent laughter. You couldn’t cope with him tickling your armpits, his beard tickling your neck and his hair tickling your ear. He laughed into your neck and the vibrations were the final straw. You started hitting his shoulder with as much force as you could and he sat back up, removing his hands.
“Sorry, I went a bit too far. Are you okay?” He asked, getting off of you. You lay there, sucking in deep breaths, and nodded. Your face was the deepest shade of red it had ever gone.
“Are you sure?” He asked, giving you a hand up.
“I...I...” you began, he looked at you with a concerned expression on his face. “I’m okay,” you breathed out. He gave you a soft smile.
You were more in shock at the fact you had just been ruthlessly tickled by Chris Evans. You couldn’t speak, your heart was pounding ten to the dozen.
“You’re quite possibly the most ticklish person I’ve ever met,” he said. Somehow your face went an even deeper shade of red.
“Aww, you’re so cute when you blush,” he cooed.
“Shut...up..” you whispered.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked, shuffling closer to you.
“Yeah, I’m more than okay,” you said. He raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t tell me you liked that?” He asked, a hint of teasing in his voice. You blushed and tilted your head down.
“No. Way. You enjoyed that didn’t you?” He asked. You blushed once again and gave a very small nod.
“Just when I thought you couldn’t get more adorable,” he said. “Little Y/N enjoys being tickled.”
You looked up at him. A wave of playfulness came over you.
“I’m so gonna get you,” you said. Before he could protest, you launched yourself at him and tackled him to the sofa. You wasted no time in squeezing his sides.
The laughter that came out of him was one you had never heard before. It was so warm and genuine and it only made you want to tickle him more. You giggled at his weak state and switched between tickling his sides, armpits, tummy and ribs to see which one made him laugh the most. It was clear that he was enjoying himself too.
“Aww is Chris ticklish too?” You cooed, surprised at your sudden confidence. You were met with a chorus of begs and pleads but you couldn’t stop yourself tickling him.
It was a really cute afternoon with just the two of you. But you were both too distracted to see who was outside the caravan, watching as you both ruthlessly tickled each other.

Title: Night of the Storm
Pairing: Loki x Goddess!Reader
Summary: Story set nearer the Viking Age. You were a Greek sea goddess who crossed paths with the god of mischief. Continuation of previous chapter. Weeks after Loki’s last appearance you were finally beginning to give up hope, only to find you’d been on his mind all along as he lures you into being alone with him late one night. His other side shows more of itself as things quickly turn into relieving that pent up physical need.
Warnings: People drowning. Also *here comes the smut.* But the start and finish of it is still marked in red within the chapter if you want to skip that part. I know everyone has their own comfort levels. The only thing in this though that I would even consider slight kink is just a bit of biting and tiny bit of blood from that, like really small. Otherwise it’s just needy gods doing what needy gods do.

——————————
You had replayed your last words with Loki over and over so many times in your head. Had you been too forward after all? Was it too presumptuous to think anything could really come of such a random acquaintanceship?
The more days that passed, the more you questioned what you really remembered of your brief time together versus what you may have only imagined in your optimism.
The night he left, you remembered feeling so sure that he would return. Maybe you weren’t certain in what way he would want to see you next, but you had at least felt he would set foot in your home he called Midgard again. And that he would call your name to the waves once more.
So when the days eventually stretched into weeks with no further sign of him, you had to accept the possibility that you were very wrong on your assumptions.
As you stared upward now from the deep ocean, the blackness all around was only penetrated by the briefest strobes of white. The occasional lightning’s flash silhouetting the wooden ship hulls rising and falling far above you.
It was so late into the night, but your Father’s anger cared not for time. The captain of the fleet above had committed the sin of hubris. He had declared himself a master of the sea after too many trips safely across, and now your Father’s storms aimed to remind this man of a harsh truth.
Your uncle Hades would surely claim souls tonight, one way or another. That was already decided per Father’s orders. But should they all die, then none of the men could carry on this message, this teaching moment either.
So you waited, and you listened. Who among them would plead for intervention as the waters first breached their ships? Father could show his wrath, but he’d sent you to show the other side as well.
Mercy from the gods. Whichever ship contained the most believers, whichever prayed the hardest, that was the one Father had asked you to spare.
But the rest....you could only watch as their bodies joined you one by one in the darkness. And you knew soon that they would only find themselves upon the banks of the river Styx.
You bid the nymphs to comfort the men as best they could, to accept fate rather than fight it. The ocean above was simply rage, but down in this abyss they would only know peace.
When the chosen surviving ship had emerged in your mind though, you pushed only that one forward. The waves began to miss it, ignore it even as the ship fully righted.
“Follow them all the way to their home shores,” You commanded the nymphs. “Let none from that vessel drown under your guard.”
“Yes, goddess.” They answered, swimming quickly to join the now fleeing ship. These mortals would return home with tales of their brush with death. But they would also remember as their prayers had parted the seas only for them.
Yet you felt no satisfaction, even with your duty to your Father done. Your distraction still lingered as you only sank further away from the storm’s flashes in the time afterward, to the colder depths where you intended to again sleep alone.
Floating, suspended in the blackness as you’d closed your eyes, to any that could have somehow seen you, you would have looked most like a corpse as well. Albeit intact, unmarred, and with that smallest pulse of life as the thin slits on your neck pulled in those tiny breaths.
But after only a little while you’d opened your eyes again into the void. Because you felt that someone was watching you. It would seem impossible, but you were so certain of this fact so abruptly then that you called out, your magic giving your words wide presence even within the water.
“And what being are you that should watch a goddess as she tries to sleep? Do you now judge my actions invisible one?”
You waited, but of course the void would not answer back, could not even as the feeling of some ethereal eye upon you would not leave.
What did it want from you?
“Milady!”
You startled harshly, even the distant voice of a nymph shocking you at this depth. She couldn’t reach you though, so you had to swim back upward to her.
When you neared further back towards the surface a quick moving fish cut across your vision. It circled, panicked, and calling again. A younger nymph who could not yet take on any larger form. “Milady, thank goodness I found you. Loki has finally returned! But he is injured!”
That was the last of anything you had expected. But you ordered her to stay where it was safe, to only join the others once more before you tore off into the darkness to head for shore.
———————————
As you emerged from the waves, they crashed rough against your back. You hadn’t realized father’s storms had stretched this far. The rain stung against your now exposed skin as you walked onto the beach in the downpour. Loki had never come at night before. And for it to be now no less, in this tempest, you breathed as you looked around for him in the darkness. But you heard nothing over the wind and waves.
“Loki!” You called.
At last you saw a shadow somehow darker than the rest, shifting then just within the tree line. You hurried towards it.
“They said you were injured!” You spoke over the storm.
“I’m fine.” He grumbled, though seemingly more agitated at the rain as he looked all like a drenched rat fallen off a moor line now, making you wonder how long he’d really been waiting for you here.
“I know a place, come on,” You insisted.
But even in these circumstances, you hesitated to touch him, yet knowing it would have been far easier to guide him if you could have only taken his arm. But you did your best to lead him regardless, further along the shore until you came upon the cave opening you were seeking.
“Even during high tide it stays dry in here,” You explained, now finally able to speak at a more normal volume with the sounds of the storm muted somewhat as you went farther back into the cavern together.
Yet light would be an issue, as you were already looking around for a way to at least make a fire.
But to your surprise one started from nothing, in the center of the cave now flickering as the light then shown on you both.
Loki lowered his hand afterward, evidently having just used some other kind of magic you weren’t aware of.
But as you turned to him, you could now see the deep bruising on his face even in the firelight.
“You said you weren’t hurt.” You spoke, that tone of concern not hidden.
“It is minor.” He answered, but offered nothing more.
You waited for one long moment, before finally deciding that any notion of privacy he may hold was now overshadowed by the obvious need for some explanation. “Minor enough to come here in the dead of night in the middle of a near hurricane?”
He gave you an odd look, but you didn’t shrink back.
“I only had another large, predictable argument with my brother.” He finally said. “He decided to help solve things in the only way he knows how. I used magic, he used his fists, and here I am.” Loki had already started to try and smooth his wind mussed hair back into place though, some vanity evident there even as he continued. “And this was only one of few places he would not follow me. Brother has no interest in this part of Midgard currently. He at least allows me this.”
“I see.” You answered, though feeling something was still not right here even as you tried to choose your next course of action carefully. “Would you like help drying off at least then?” You asked.
“You insinuate that you can control rainwater as well?” He questioned skeptically.
“Only if it’s made by one of my father’s storms, yes. Which this clearly was.” You replied, raising your own hands as you willed the water to leave him. And it did lift from his hair, from his clothes, even his skin as the reformed droplets floated strangely in midair before you cast them back out the cave entrance with another flick of your hands.
He watched the water leave with the slightest bit of interest before turning his attention fully back to you then.
“And what is your dear father so unhappy with tonight?” Loki asked, adjusting his now at least somewhat dryer clothing. You couldn’t pull out every bit of dampness true, but it was far better than being completely drenched.
“He felt a mortal had lost respect for the dangers of the seas.” You answered plainly.
But Loki actually was silent for a moment at that as only a dark smirk crossed his features. That little knot in your stomach seemed to tighten at the sight.
“And they say I’m petty.” He finally said. “How many mortals did you really let drown tonight, goddess?”
“So it was you.” You said abruptly, accusing him then and there as you neared closer. “You were watching me!”
“No.” He corrected, though looking pleased none the less that you had made the connection so quickly. “Heimdall was. Yet by my request.”
“Why?” You questioned, but not really knowing what to feel as a mix of anger and embarrassment rose in your confusion.
“I wanted to know if your parting words held any truth. And if you’d grow restless the longer I waited to return.” He smiled then, but there was still a cruelty to it. “Yet that show I did not expect. Heimdall can be quite good at relaying details when pressed. And sparing only the mortals that plead for you tonight, letting the rest become food for your sea beasts....ah, and yet with your servants still comforting the damned. It was really quite a finishing touch.”
“So this is the kind of god you are then?” You asked sharply, though still not sure what you’d really expected.
“I am.” He offered. “And I also am not.”
You tensed, patience truly beginning to wane. “There is no point to speak in riddles to me. What is your real intention here Asgardian?”
“Tsk. Now you wound? I am only back to the Asgardian again?” He tilted his head slightly. “No, you tell me. Why did you leave the protection of your seas so quickly at only the word I was wounded, so panicked that you did not even think to bring that spear of yours?”
Your eyes widened slightly, that realization only just hitting you with his question. It hadn’t crossed your mind once to bring it, even now as he stood so near with that growing look of triumph in his eyes.
“You play games with me.” You retorted, even as you watched those fake bruises now fade from his pale skin.
“And now I know what you would do if it were all true,” he answered, yet with that smirk returning.
“I could fill this entire cave and drown you where you stand you know.” You countered.
“You could try,” He agreed. “But you won’t.”
“You presume too much.” He was becoming maddening. Everything you said, he only grew bolder, he taunted harder. And the worst of it all was, you were not really fighting back. Why were you not fighting back?
“You missed me, goddess. It isn’t that hard to deduce. Not anymore. You wanted this.” He finally said. “And if it’s all the same, I share that frustration. I kept away long enough to be sure. But watching you, knowing what you’re willing to do...I wanted to come back and see it first hand.”
And in all these weeks, tonight wasn’t the only night you’d let mortals perish in Father’s name, or even caused it yourself as you’d manipulated the seas on his orders. And was that really what excited Loki tonight? Seeing you use your powers to this darker extent?
“Is this really how Asgardians flirt? Over the bodies of the innocent?” You asked, unable to keep yourself to sane words any longer. It had all gone too far so quickly.
“I am not all Asgardians. And you and I both know there is no such thing as innocence.” He murmured just as his hands first touched you, taking your wrists. The grasp of his long fingers was surprisingly cold. That chill honestly the first thing you noticed, even as you didn’t push him away.
You watched only his eyes for that moment. And in your own awe you realized he was actually still waiting for you to deny him. You were being given a choice here. But you didn’t refuse him. You couldn’t. You’d already thought of this possibility more than once in your many nights alone.
And it was only you who closed the gap first as you took his lips in yours. You felt him tense briefly though, as if he was still somewhat surprised himself before he returned the motion in full force.
****SMUT INCOMING, KEEP SCROLLING IF WISHING TO SKIP
The rock wall of the cave soon met your back as he pressed you against it. It hurt somewhat, but you weren’t made of glass.
As he pinned your arms against the wall as well, his tongue pressed its way into your mouth. But the taste of him was something you only wanted more of then. Yet when your own tongue fought quickly back, you felt him pull away just enough to look into your eyes once more.
His face hovered only inches from your own as he eyed you hungrily. “You realize I won’t be able to stop once this starts. It’s been far too long. Speak now...or be silent save for saying my praises, goddess.”
“Prideful beast,” You breathed, shifting in his grip. “You think I do this each night either? Try closer to never.”
He seemed even more goaded at that, pleased at the revelation, “Then tell me what you want, (Y/N).”
“You.” You answered immediately, reservation shattered as his body pressed further against your own.
“Then I shall enjoy the privilege.” He whispered huskily, and you leaned your head back just as you felt him bite suddenly after, his mouth rough on your neck. You were sure he was testing if marks could be made on your skin, trying to claim it any way he could now as he pressed a little harder and harder with those teeth.
The juxtaposition of a man who would sit with you for hours only reading, versus this possessive creature he was now shifting towards was so very interesting.
And as he released your wrists, his hands only moved to the straps of your dress next. Yanking them from your shoulders, and sliding the thin fabric easily from your chest, exposing your breasts to his groping touch before his mouth moved over your chest.
As he roughly kissed one breast, his hand squeezed the other tightly. In another too fast movement though, his other hand had now already pulled the rest of your dress away. He pulled you from the wall just enough for it to fall around your ankles then as you realized just how quickly he’d rendered you fully nude here before him. All while you’d only been nearly still, too wrapped up in the desperate feel of it all.
After the dress had fallen though, he did pull back not long after, seeming to admire the view for a moment before his hand then went between your legs.
“I wondered how much you’d taste of the sea,” He murmured, licking that slight residue of salt from his lips as his fingers massaged your entrance.
You opened your legs a little more, leaning further back against the wall to help support yourself as those little flicks and movements of his fingers weakened you further.
“You have entirely too many clothes on,” You panted quietly, not caring if your tone sounded more like pleading in that moment.
“You just want me in you already, don’t you, goddess?” He all but growled, taunting you even as he slipped his fingers inside then.
Before you could hope to really answer, he was kissing you again though, his tongue probing nearly as hard as his fingers were pressing below.
You could feel the resistance decreasing though, the more your inner wetness grew and his fingers slid in and out all the quicker. Something he no doubt could feel as well as he broke the kiss once more.
“Beg me then,” He commanded against your ear.
Even in your own need, you were realizing how much he wanted to be in control. Power aroused him, just as he’d evidently been watching you exert your own in all these days, and just as he wanted to feel dominant over you now.
But you also knew how little you cared either way in this moment. You wanted him to be satisfied just as much as you wanted your own release.
“I want you,” You tried again, locking eyes with him once more. But as you tried to reach for his clothing he only caught your hand in his free one.
“Not good enough,” He reiterated, needing more.
It was hard to think in depth though as his other hand only kept moving just enough to keep you stimulated, but not enough to finish you off.
But alright, you could play this game if you had to. You growled a little yourself, “Fuck me, Loki”. That’s what he wanted to hear wasn’t it? You could see that desperate look in his eyes grow and you knew you about had him. In the moment though, you added one more thing, this time being quick enough with your hand to grab hold of his crotch before he could stop you. “Do it, King. Fuck me.”
He let out another sound, somewhere between a growl and a moan as he pulled his fingers out from you before grabbing you by the arms to force you away from the wall entirely.
He released you only brief enough to face his palms towards his own body. The dark green cloak he wore separated at once from his other clothing, it then splaying out across the floor of the cave. And with another motion his black leather unwrapped itself, almost like invisible hands pulling it all from him as he stepped out of his boots. Then at once he was to you again as the rest of his clothing folded itself neatly out of the way.
But you wished time would slow down in that moment, yourself trying to see every detail of his naked form in the firelight before his body slammed back against yours. That vivid white skin, lean, but surprising you with the musculature that had still been hiding there.
In the ocean, you knew well that it wasn’t always the biggest, bulkiest predators to fear the most. Some of the leaner, faster ones could have your throat ripped out long before the others should you let them in too close.
And his mouth met yours just as harshly then, urging you down to lay on your back upon his cloak on the cave floor.
If your back was bruised later, you hardly cared, as you wrapped your legs around him and he laid his weight upon you. Your hands were free now, and you gladly used them, running them through his hair, and up and down his body to feel all you could of him. He was smooth, with that chill to him that was still so unique.
You found his already strong erection as well, stroking it with one hand as your other moved back into his hair. You held the back of his head as he moved down again to suck at your collarbone, his fingers digging into your hips harshly as he thrust against your hand, urging you to guide him in.
And you were more than ready, allowing him to push inside as you angled him as deep as he could go.
He took full advantage at once too, pulling almost all the way back out before slamming back inside as you gasped.
He lifted up onto his elbows enough to look you in the eyes as he pulled out again, before repeating the second harsh thrust, then a third, and a fourth.
It ached, yet somehow you couldn’t imagine this any other way tonight. He wanted to claim you now, as hard and thoroughly as he could.
And you could take it as you breathed his name. You wanted him to let out all his frustration as your hands moved to his back and your nails dug into his shoulders with each faster thrust.
He bore his teeth with a hiss of pain as your nails finally broke his skin. But he liked it you knew, even as he bit down on your shoulder in return.
You felt the pressure, maybe a little stinging, but your back only arched into him as his hips continued to slam against you mercilessly.
As his mouth let go of you again though, and he lifted up, manhood still inside you, you could see that slightest bit of gold ichor on his lips. The blood of the Olympians. Your blood.
He smiled, knowing full well what he’d done in his haze of lust. “Is that what the remnants of ambrosia tastes like?” He whispered, licking his lips.
Contact with ichor could kill any mortal outright, and here he was playing with it. Yet you truly had no idea what its effects could be on an Asgardian. “You do take risks, don’t you, King?”
He made a pleasured sound, still thoroughly enjoying that word out of your mouth as he grabbed your breasts again, thrusting hard once more. “Only when the odds favor me, goddess.”
Your muscles were tensing though, as he squeezed your breasts and changed his angle slightly to rub more against that sensitive bundle of nerves at your entrance as his cock slid in and out.
You couldn’t know what you really looked like to him right now, sprawled out on your back beneath him, laying on his own cloak as he fucked you like he’d never have the chance again.
But you could see his own expression, and his eyes were so intense, like under a spell of euphoria as his breath grew more rapid.
Would he pull out you wondered? Did you even want him to?
“Loki,” You spoke, raising your hand up to the side of his face gently, even though you realized his own red blood now dotted your fingernails.
He surprised you when he only turned his face enough to kiss your hand though, still watching you even as you felt him jerk inside you abruptly. You saw him shudder as that orgasm went through him, and you felt his seed pulsing out deep inside you.
But even as he came, his hand went back to your entrance, bidding you to do the same as he tormented your clit. You’d been on that edge for so long, it was easy to finally let go as you trembled beneath him, getting your own release then.
And even then he still didn’t pull out. He only tugged you so that you both rolled onto your sides on his cloak, still facing one another.
You were both breathing rather hard now, and you truly wanted to close your eyes to rest for a moment, but you felt his fingers edging along the side of your face as you opened your eyes again.
He kissed you once more, and you could taste that sweetness that you knew was indeed the leftovers of your own blood.

****SMUT DONE, CAN KEEP READING HERE
“Have you been sated?” You asked, reaching up to run your thumb across his bottom lip.
He grinned slightly at the touch. “To say yes would only be another lie now wouldn’t it? I am never sated, dear. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t thoroughly enjoy this.”
With that he reached out enough to touch his hand to the cloak beneath you. You felt the material shift before the sides of it suddenly extended, wrapping around you both like a blanket in the cool cave.
More of his own magic no doubt, but there were no complaints from you as you just rested your head against him, closing your eyes again. He allowed it, so you supposed he was also too tired to do anything differently.
You weren’t sure for how long he would actually stay this way. But for now you would only take comfort in this rarity of intimacy as best you could, breathing in his scent, and savoring the feel of his skin still against yours.

It was only the extremely persistent calling of seagulls that finally woke you. Groggily you yawned, only startled as you realized yourself fully naked and for one chaotic moment could not remember how in Gaia’s name you got that way.
You sat up abruptly as the green cloak fell away from your bare body. But the silky feel of it brought you back to reality as you ran your hand out across it.
The sunlight was shining brightly into the cave. The fire long gone, and Loki along with it as you now sat alone here. All his clothes that had been stacked against the wall were also gone. Though with some bit of humor you realized your dress was now neatly folded beside the edge of the cloak for you to find. Quite far removed from its original point of just being piled beside the wall last night.
Though with him gone it was interesting that none of the nymphs had yet joined you. Perhaps they had just been too polite. But when you saw those same annoyingly loud gulls with some now walking up and down nervously at the cave entrance, you realized them for what they were.
You pulled Loki’s cloak back around yourself before laying back down, even while calling out. “You can come in, girls! I’m awake!”
With that a flurry of seagulls immediately flew into the cave, landing all around. And in moments they were all beautiful sea nymphs again, staring at you expectantly.
“You cannot tell my father, okay?” Was the very first thing you said as they all nodded highly enthusiastically.
But when you didn’t say anything immediately more, you could tell they were all about to explode in anticipation. “Yes, we coupled. Yes, I’d do it again.” You finally said.
They all squealed, no doubt realizing as well how badly you’d wished for his return in the last weeks. Yet that was also when the questions came.
“But was he better than an Olympian?”
“Was he tender, or rough? Did he try to please you, milady?”
“Was he big? I’ve heard everything is bigger up north. Aren’t they from the north?”
“My gods, girls, I don’t know. It’s not like I do this all the time.” You grumbled a little, curling up further into his cloak. It still smelled like him you realized. A rich scent, likely whatever it was that the royal quarters in Asgard smelled like.
“Oh we know! But it’s just, oh this is so exciting! You’ve finally taken a lover!”
Though as they continued to chat away, you did think of something you could actually ask them in return.
“When did he leave anyway? Did you see him?” You questioned.
“Oh,” They considered this for a moment. “Before sunrise surely, but we were um, asleep...most of us. We roosted outside the cave to wait for you, goddess.”
“I followed him!” Another one said. “But he told me to leave him be and go home.”
“What form were you in?” You asked, surprised he would so quickly recognize a nymph if in another form.
“Oh...well I was a seal.”
You blinked, imagining the ridiculousness of a nosy seal trying to inconspicuously waddle behind Loki all the way back up the beach and hillside last night.
“You should have been a small shorebird, and stuck to the trees to watch from a distance.” You commented.
“Ah, yes, that probably would have worked well.” They agreed.
You sighed a little, but it didn’t matter much regardless. As much as you still wanted to savor last night, Loki was already gone again. Which also meant that once again you could only wonder when, if ever, he might see fit to see you once more.
He’d already showed his capacity to fake his own injuries just to lure you in faster. So there was always the possibility that everything, all of it, had just been some elaborate scheme to bed you. And with that pleasure won, he may only be off to his next challenge far away from here.
You would have to accept whatever the Fates allowed, because what other choice did you have? But there was still no question. If you could see him again, you would gladly do so.

It Gets Better(A Silky Pearl)
Summary: It’s been a long time since things have gotten this bad. Loki, returned from his latest mission, lets you know that, with help and support, you can overcome the worst of things, and makes sure you know that he’ll be there with you to get you through it, each and every day.
Pairing: Loki/Female Reader
Warnings: Reader in this fic struggles with eating disorders. Thoughts and feelings related to these(specifically to anorexia and bulimia), are made throughout the fic, especially those that, in my personal experience, people with these disorders experience. I cannot stress enough that this will be discussed/referenced/talked about, sometimes explicitly(Though not graphically) and sometimes implicitly, so please be aware of that and know that it’s OK to take care of yourself and skip this one if that would be triggering to you!
Word Count: 3.1k
A/N: I want to preface this by saying that there are a LOT of people, both here and on AO3, who have made some amazing Loki/reader oneshots where the reader is struggling with mental health and/or physical health issues, that really provide a sense of warmth and fluff and support to people who may be going through those things themselves, and I’ve taken a lot of comfort in those fics over the course of the pandemic(I’ll be shouting out a couple of them in the tags!). I want to acknowledge that these exist, and that they’re awesome and have partly inspired my own writing, before talking about this little project I’m embarking on.
Because, while I have gotten a lot of comfort out of many of those pieces of writing, there are definitely some things which I feel like aren’t talked about as much in pieces like these which I have gone through, and which a lot of other people have gone/are going through, and…. I figured that maybe I could take a crack at trying to provide that hit of fluff for people dealing with those things, if I can, and hopefully use my own experience with them to do it in as respecful and accurate a way as possible.
All that being said, the first oneshot in this little project is going to be dealing with a pretty heavy subject, that being eating disorders. The reader in this fic does struggle with eating disorders - specifically anorexia and bulimia. I will not be actively describing anything too graphic about these disorders in this fic, except to highlight through implication and some sparse details that this is what’s happening here, as well as show some of the inner thought processes of the reader, but there definitely is enough in here to show that that’s what’s going on, so if anyone would be triggered by that, please take care of yourselves and give this one a pass! Also, I will further disclaim that there are many types of eating disorders, and everyone’s experience with them is different. In this oneshot, I wrote based off what I know to have been true during the time in my life when I struggled with the same conditions, and I really tried to make the fluff and support as kind and encouraging as I possibly could. If for ANY REASON there’s something that I did badly at, or something that’s disrespectful, anyone reading this may feel more than free to let me know and I’ll do my best to fix it! I don’t want this fic to be a place where anyone feels hurt or disrespected, that isn’t my intention at all, and if I make a mistake in that regard for any reason whatsoever, I would really appreciate knowing so that I can correct it!
Anyways, after that extremely lengthy A/N, just… please know, if you’re going through something like this, that you’re not alone, that help does exist and is out there, and that you are seen and heard. And take this Loki fluff, because honestly, there can never be too much of that in the world!
You know that he worries about you. Even before his latest, three-week mission, you know that he worried about you. In the mornings, as you pour your coffee, you watch him watch you with careful nonchalance, gaze boring into the back of your head, slight furrow creasing his eyebrows, frown pulling small at his lips. He dresses early, because he wakes early; it is a battle, most mornings, for you to get out of bed. And so what, if you take your coffee with more creamer than is necessarily normal - it has to last you a long time, this coffee. You need the sugar of it, to get you to that clean pain. It is sharper, more real, than any scalpel, any knife that Loki keeps concealed by his armor; all that fine Asgardian leather, green and supple and him. It gives you back the control that you lack. Lets you be the person that you would be.
It’s not that you’re afraid of your body, but you are ashamed by it; cannot fathom, even now with his gaze on you, that Loki could love somebody so dreadfully overweight.
Today, though - Today, you had thought, you had hoped, that it might be different. You don’t know why you have that hope, but it brims up in you; a physical need, a visible yearning, for you to be enough for once. Someone that Loki can stand to look at. Someone that Loki can love. He is looking at you now like he’s seeing you for the first time, and you flinch from the frown that creases his piercing gaze, unable to bear how it roves up the planes of your body; silhoutted in the light coming in through the window, you can feel each ounce of fat that stretches over your sinew, cartilage. (You know that Loki hates your body - He traces it sometimes like he’s probing you, trying to find where your bones are. You wish that you could call him on it, and know that you never could).
You stand at the counter, and turn from him; rummage in the cabinet for your coffee mug with shaking fingers; you almost feel like they’re rubber. Blue and cold, like his Jotun skin, but you know that it isn’t enough. Pins and needles prick at them - you can almost convince yourself that it’s only your guilt and shame, but you cannot hide from the pain suffusing Loki’s voice when he speaks.
“Darling,” He says, on a shaky breath, “We need to talk about this.”
“I know -” You tell him - you know that you can’t run from this, anymore. He knows how you look, how nothing you do is fixing it. And now, he’s going to leave you. “I know, Loki - I tried, Loki, I’m so sorry -“
The agony that wells up in you threatens to overwhelm your ability to speak, and you feel your knees buckle the second before you fall. Your kneecaps slam against the cupboard underneath the sink, your head hitting the edge of the counter as you slide down hard to the floor. It hurts. But every part of your body hurts, these days. It’s as constant as your worthlessness. And something else, too -
He is there, on the floor with you, in less time than it takes place to blink, pulling you hard and desperate into his arms; you don’t understand why, and you try to wrench yourself from him, sobs bubbling up and spilling out from your tightly shut eyes. You can feel the bruises starting to form on you, a lump throbbing at your temple.
“Love,” He is saying, “Y/N, sweetheart, come back to me. Come back to me, darling, please.” He is stroking your hair; you feel his fingers at its strands, thin and brittle. God, you think, how pathetic you are - you can’t even keep yourself pretty for him, for this god and all the sacrifices that he’s made. You cry harder, unable to stop your own wailing. When you finally do, you’re exhausted - it takes everything out of you.
“Loki,” You say, on a wretched whine, “I’m so cold.”
“Hush,” He says, “You’re alright. You’ll be warm soon - We’ll sort it, darling, I promise.”
You don’t know how to tell him that it isn’t something you can sort, but somehow you know, deep in your heart, that Loki understands. Still, his voice is so sweet, and the shudders that wrack you begin to halt in the steady hold of his embrace; the tender brush of his fingers over your skin. You feel like you can look at him, now, so you do it, sucking your bottom lip into your teeth to steel yourself for the cruel things you’re certain he’ll start with. But Loki’s gaze isn’t angry at you, not full of fury or disgust. They sparkle with unshed tears and concern, emerald in the daylight. It takes you a moment too long to realize all that pain, all that worry, is for you; when you do, though, you flinch away. Feel Loki’s fingers drop from your hairline to your cheek, then your chin, tilting your head up so that you can’t run and hide.
“I’m losing you, love,” Loki says. His voice is low, and steeped in sorrow. It is his turn to look down, with guilt and shame, and you feel a pang blossom, raw and red, in your heart. He sighs, and straightens his shoulders. He is filled with some new resolution, some new determination you can’t wince away from.
“I need to know,” Loki tells you, “How long this has been going on. I need to - I need you to tell me why, love. I can’t bear to see you like this.”
“I can’t,” You say, blinking back a fresh torrent of tears, “Tell you why. It’s not - I can’t - I don’t know.”
But you know, and Loki does, too. It’s the god of lies, holding you - of course he can tell that you’re lying. It is something other, and runs deep, this bone-y reluctance. A complex game of mental gymnastics. How could you ever tell Loki about the control that it gives you, the desperation with which you used all your calorie-counting and aching restraint to regain the love that you lost? The nights bent over toilet bowls; the way that, sometimes, you empty stomach made you dig your nails hard into your palms ’til they bled, to stop yourself from crying out at the pain. And he loves you - the part of you that craves his affection, that yearns to burrow fast and fierce into Loki’s embrace and spill all your secrets to him, makes sure to remind you of that.
“Y/N,” Says Loki, soft and tender, yet infused with a note so harsh that you would wince, if you could. “You can tell me anything. You need to.”
You notice things, now, in the face of his determination. You notice that Loki is looking at you like he’s in physical pain, and that there’s something sticky and red on the pads of the fingers that brushed up against your head.
“I’m bleeding,” You say. It comes out soft, horrified.
The frown that creases Loki’s face would bring you to your knees, if you weren’t there already.
“It’s just - a thing that I do,” You tell him, too ashamed to look at his face as you reveal it. “You don’t have to worry about it.”
“That’s not enough for me, love.”
Loki’s lips are pursed tight, and the wound in his eyes has hardened to steel. The you part of your body - the fleeing part, the one who knows how to survive - seizes its’ chance and you duck out of his embrace, with far more strength than you had possessed in what felt like, potentially, years. Scrambles, backwards, like a cornered animal, over the tile floor, before heaving itself up to standing. It faces Loki, and its’ breath comes in stabbing-sharp. It is hard to remember that you have to call it ‘myself’. You feel older than you were, yesterday, and you cannot, quite, get air to come into your lungs. That’s not enough for me, you hear your lover say, ringing in your ears like a hyena’s howl.
You’re not enough for me, love. Your fingers spasm, clutching the sides of the kitchen table white-knuckled. You wonder, fleetingly, what Loki would do if you died. The thought makes you cry out in pain, a whimper ripping out from a throat rubbed fingernail-raw, but Loki does not move to stand.
“Come back to me,” He tells you, spiked with sorrow and need. And, perhaps for the first time, you admit it - to yourself, as much as to him.
“I don’t - I don’t think I know how.”
He smiles the smiole of someone who’s seen his own pain, faced his own lashing demons, and you pause to take him in fully, this god who says that he loves you, the man he is trying to be. You catch on hixs eyes, those bright emerald coins, his hair like the feathers of crows. His high, pale cheekbones, and his silver-tongue cut like glass. The pads of his fingertips, slender and cold, tender and fierce on your skin or the hilt of a dagger. You breathe in the smell of him, parchment and iron; peppermint tea and the smoke from a lorn, crimson fire. Wet leaves, after a rain. You feel your resolve start to waver.
“Well,” He says, all thoughtful, all trickster, “Sitting down, I believe, would be a good place to begin.”
The teasing lilt of his voice - an act that he is putting on, and all for you, always for you - cajoles you, coaxing you to lever your elbows and slide back down onto the floor, your weary legs feeling unimaginably grateful. Loki shoots you a new smile now, light and proud. He beckons you, with a cock of his head and a slim, fond gesture, to him - Of a sudden, the tiles beneath you seem like a desert, an ocean. You feel the weight of your emptiness. It laughs at you, its’ white teeth filed and barred. In your head, your failure is heavy; a hot and cackling creature with seven-foot claws pressing down on your chest, restricting your matchstick limbs. You are lost to the unyielding insistence of it, trapped in the maw of its cage, and Loki’s words, when they come, sound as far away as the shores of a country ancient and foreign.
“I was hardly gone,” He is saying, but you cannot answer him. “How could it have gotten this bad?”
It is that - that sadness, that fear in your lover - that breaks you, and you take the thing at a clumsy, terror-steeped sprint, not caring how wretched you look, so long as you can reach him - So long, you finally let yourself think, as there is something left of you for Loki to hold in his arms. Your body hurts worse than anything. You feel every scrape and bruise and chill on it; the pins and knives working at oxygen-starved nerves, and the gnawing clamp of your hunger, a brand pressing into your gut; and you know that Loki can’t save you. But maybe, just maybe, you can find some way to save yourself. And his fingers are there, going up to your hair, thumb rubbing at a hollow cheek and catching the salty dirge of an errant tear.
“It gets better, you know,” Loki tells you. He gets you onto his lap; you feel his heartbeat under your palms where you clutch tightly at his shirt to hold yourself up. A steady, thrumming proof that he is alive. And when he says it, you get the sense that, somehow, you’ve always know it, this whispered secret he’s weaving into your soul. “If you get proper help for it. If you want it to.”
He speaks casually, but there is a weight to his words. Miraculously - you’re not quite so sure how - you find yourself able to meet them.
“I want it to,” You tell him. “I didn’t, before - “ And here his eyes widen, and he shakes his head like you’ve shot him - “But I do. I want to -“
“Alright, love,” He tells you, running a soothing hand down over your side, past the hard planes of your collarbone, “Alright. It’s okay. You’re such a strong person- It’s going to be hard, for awhile, but I know that you can get through this. I’ll be right here with you, darling. Right here, by your side.”
“You will?” You ask him, voice cracking, hardly daring to hope that despite all this, he would stay. He chuckles, sadly, as if your thinking it hurts him, and he is deadly serious when he tells you,
“Y/N, of course I will.”
Somehow, though he’s the god of lies, you don’t doubt his words for an instant. You nod, and the nodding takes effort. Yet you are certain he understands what you mean.
“So,” Says Loki, “Can you - Tell me about this?”
You have to think, for a minute. Can you tell Loki about this? You know that he’s telling the truth, that he isn’t going to leave you. Still, you’ve never been this vulnerable with him before, not even in bed, and the fear in you won’t be put to rest so easily. You shake in his hold, and realize, with a frigid shock, how you must look to him - how badly you are hurting him, and how badly you’re hurting yourself, by keeping your feelings inside yourself and leaving your body to rot. You know, now, that Loki will  help you through this - that he will be there, kind touches skirting the bad days; warm, mischevious smirks smoothing the wrinkles of your persistent self-doubts. There was a time when you needed to do this - there will, probably, still be days when you feel like you need to do this, to get a firm hold over your life, and keep the jackals at bay. There are other words to keep yourself safe, though. Loki’s breath in the dark is more home to you than anything you’ve ever had, and his open waiting, here in the daylight, makes you brave enough to speak.
“Maybe… Over lunch?” You offer. You bite your lip and hold out the query, a silky pearl in your hand. For one moment, Loki seems to consider; after all, he is the trickster, and a man not given to acting rashly, or stripping the drama from his complicated schemes. If this is a scheme, you think that you might forgive him - Later, when his lips are on your frame, when you’re there with him, again. His lips twitch into a grin so affectionate and proud that you know- you know - that if you seek proper care and really want to get better, you’ll get through the days that feel like walking on broken glass. You’ve done so much for me, that grin tells you. Let me do this for you.
He reaches out, and takes the pearl. You hardly recognize the man who rained hell down on New York, who snorts and jabs with sarcasm at every word that comes out of Iron Man’s mouth.
“Breakfast?” He counters, shooting a pointed glance at the microwave clock. It is a dare and a promise - a challenge, but never a trick. It tastes like honey on your tongue.
“Fine,” You say, “But you’ll have to cook.” Some kind of joy is creeping its way into you. Your voice, you find, barely trembles.
“Midgardians,” Lok says, with an eye-roll - a friendly, loving glint in his eyes that refuses to fade. “Don’t tell me you’re one of those people who burns water.” The joke prods your tender, new understanding, reassures you that he is still Loki; that he isn’t going to treat you differently, like a child, just because you’re suffering. The smile comes full onto you, and you wriggle, stretching your arms over your head and yawning, exaggerated for effect to add to the banter.
“I never said that I couldn’t cook,” You tell Loki, “Just wanted you to do it.”
“Mm,” He says, “And what will you be doing, then, while I cook?”
You chew at your lip, and choose to answer before your nerves make you panic.
“Finding the right words,” You admit, laying the truth bare to him.
His hands are wending through your hair now, and his lips are unberarably gentle on yours. He tastes like embers and ink. That sweet, slightly metalic tang that you’ve come to associate with his magic; cinnamon, tinged with steel. He kisses you for a second or two, before pulling away,  but you could live in those seconds - Unfold it, like a blanket, and let the care of it warm your thin, freezing bones, if Loki weren’t here to show you that, with the right help, you can learn how to do it yourself.
“Finding the right words,” Loki muses, vaulting himself up to stand in a movement that’s unfairly graceful. “I’d much prefer yours, to be honest.”
He holds a hand out, and you take it, letting him pull you up. The floor, underneath you, feels solid. The sun is coming through the clouds, and out there in the wide world you can hear bird-song, the low, sugared sway of the breeze. There is something else there, too:
You let it wrap its tendrils around you, and you decide that it’s hope.

Lyrics used from the Song: Kina ft. Snow - Get You The Moon
“Y/N, look out!”
The piercing sounds of gunfire nearby made your eardrums ring, yet Steve’s words got through to you nonetheless.
But you were determined to end this, here and now.
Tony was the first one at your side, catching you in his arms before you hit the floor. However, you could only do so much as whimper a silent apology to your friends, who now had to live with the consequences of your actions.
“Why did you do this?!” you heared Dr. Strange yell as he unsucessfully tried to close the deep cut in your gut. Too afraid of what you might see if you’d look at the wound, your glare was locked on the beautiful sky - yes, the sun was almost setting, and it was somehow calming to you that this would most likely the last thing you’d set eyes upon.
“There was no reason to be this reckless!” Steve followed close by, his scolding soon turning into desperate screams. “Fuck. FUCK!” If Captain America himself is cussing, then it’s as severe as you thought it to be.
Your wounds were lethal, that much was sure.
And of course they were right, as always: You didn’t need to play the martyr here, throwing yourself into danger to shield your comrades - well, you did anyway, and there was no going back now.
On the other hand, they were the ones taking a gravely depressed widow onto a dangerous mission. But you did not want your precious friends to blame themselves for that, for it was your own wish.
Dying in an honorable battle was what would send you to Valhalla, after all - where you could finally meet him again, hopefully.
The only one not having spoken a single word up until now was Thor, very well knowing what all this was about. It was no secret that you were sick and tired of how your life had turned out to be, ever since the Infinity War.
You felt empty. Incomplete. Desperate. Hallow.
The God of Thunder had turned his back to you, yet there was still agony radiating from that already broken man. Your almost-brother-in-law was the only one who could possibly understand your pain. Thor Odinson had lost everything: His homeland, most of his tribe, his family and best friend - and soon, you as well.
All this time, you wanted to be strong. For them, who had also lost so much!
But at some point things just got out of control.
“You can’t leave me alone, Lady Y/N! Not you too!” Thor finally whimpered as he fell onto his knees, softly squeezing your hand. “You’re the only thing I have left from him!
So this is what dying feels like.
The bloodloss caused your limps to go limp, and when the pain began to stop and got replaced by numbness, you knew it would soon be time. Your brain lost the remaining control over your body, and you found yourself encoated by pure nothingless.
Only able to listen by their screams, cries and kind words - at least you’d die surrounded by those marvellous people. It sure was a privilege knowing them.
You weren’t afraid - all in all, it had been a good life, after all.
There were no regrets.
“Shh” you hushed them, using your last bit of strenght so your lips formed somewhat of a most broken smile, forming words between gurling on your own blood.
“It’s alright, I-” you cut yourself off, trying to scream as a last, torturing pain shot through your whole system. “I-I-I’ll-- meet him again...you know?”
“I’m no-not strong enough, please...” Thor cried out like you had never seen him before, feeling a tide of guilt wash over you. “Loki wouldn’t have wanted you to go like this! He told me to protect you, so you could lead a long and happy life!”
Without him? Impossible!
“You gave me a shoulder when I needed it
You showed me love when I wasn’t feeling it
You helped me fight when I was giving in
And you made me laugh when I was losing it”
Yes, indeed: You had been to selfish to keep on living just for the sake of your friends, burdening them with yet another loss.
“I-I don’t wanna go...this was a mistake, I- please...”
How badly did you want to soothe them right now, telling them that everything would be alright and you’d meet them again, eventually?
It was too late now.
Your body gave up earlier than your soul, which had endured and kept on all this time, even in it’s shattered state.
And when Tony’s palm gently closed your eyes, making it easier for you to embrace the cold darkness, the last thing you heared before your senses gave up were startling you enough to almost bring you back to life:
“I’m so sorry, Y/N.”
That voice was familiar, yet it didn’t belong to Loki. Dr. Strange, no- Stephen Strange, your friend and mentor of the mystic arts.
“I don’t have the heart to allow this to happen” he stated frantic, making you wonder if that was a dream of your hypoxic brain or if you were still able to hear them? People tend to say the sense of hearing dies last, after all. “She still has a pulse, even though weak. Hurry!”
Their voices were far in the back, words way too far out of your reach to understand. As if you were an outsider, only observing from a distance.
Your friends were fighting, or maybe discussing something. That much you could make up from their tone, but your mind was too exhausted to make sense of anything.
It felt as if you were already without a body, floating through the unknown like a feather in the wind - not knowing where fate would lead you to next.
Everything was numb - even your pain. It was soothing, somehow.
Because you had been a ghost way before, when you were alive even. An empty shell of a human, acting like they weren’t dead on the inside.
Coherent thoughts, memories, emotions...even the fractions of your own past you had both collected and surpressed. Right now, they were all restrained and pushed far in the back of your very core, where you were finally able to evaluate them without earthly bondings.
Was this heaven, hell - or maybe both or none or them?
____
"Be aware of the limits this tactic has. It’s a very drastic measurement that can most likely be used only once in your lifetime, and it is not guaranteed to work either.”
Stephen’s voice again. You recall that scene, it’s been long in the past...but why are you remembering it now?
Yes, this was familiar. All of you had been invited to the Sanctum Sanctorum, a fitting place to teach about this ancient knowledge.
You clearly remembered that Loki was absent in any of the Doctor’s lessons, feeling that a “puny human” was “unworthy” to teach him, and “it would be nothing new anyway, Y/N, I am a god and the way better wizard, I know it all already.”
What he was about to tell you back then was some kind of crazy emergency-plan: Dangerous, unpredictable and escpecially untested.
“I’ve only read about this tactic up until now” the mage pondered loudly as he picked at his goatee, earning some childish giggles by you and Tony. “So I cannot promise that it will function as planned. The Multiverse is dangerous and acts in unforseen ways.”
“Very reassuring” you had mocked at the time, not really biding the topic any importance or thought ever again.
But now...
The trick sounded way simpler than it actually was, being as complex as it is only natural for something like that, costing a huge prize at that:
Dr. Strange would send any of you who were on the brink of death through a portal, thus leading you into a random dimension of this endless Multiverse.
That dimension, in which your alternate self has most likely died, will gladly accept you as a “replacement”. Some kind of what Peter Parker called a “glitch” will occur, instantly healing all of your wounds - even fatal ones, so you could remain in the timeline that was missing you.
Yet the consequences of this maneuvre would be unspeakable.
_____
“That bastard...” you gnarled internally, finally realizing why you would remember this of all things after apparently having just taken your dying breath. “He didn’t just-”
Eventually, you realized having escaped death’s grip, slowly beginning to regain your senses - yet still refusing to open your eyes.
“I don’t want to leave this place. My friends -- will I never see them again? No. NO! Life is meaningless. Just let me be with him. Please! Loki...”
“’Cause you are, you are
The reason why I’m still hanging on
‘Cause you are, you are
The reason why my head is still above water
And if I could I’d get you the moon
And give it to you
And if death was coming for you
I’d give my life for you”
Another part of Strange’s lesson echoed in your head, revealing that you were now in fact up on your own.
“Not even I can tell just how much this timeline will differ from what you know. Of course I will search for you right away, but considering the countless possibilities, it might very well be that we’ll never meet again. But you’re alive, and hopefully safe. That’s all that counts.”
Grass tickled your palm as you twitched your fingers, testing the limits of your body, which had literally just tricked death. Suddenly, you felt a stinging pain, almost like lightning boring into your temportal. The origin of this pain remained unknown.
When you finally found the courage to sit up, your flesh still feeling as heavy as lead, you realized that Stephen was most likely wrong: He assumed that you’d find yourself in a place you had a deep connection with, yet that place was unrecognizable to you.
Then why were you here of all places?
Actually, this location was incredibly beautiful, managing to stop the aching in your heart, if only for the fraction of a second.
Your former lover would’ve loved this place.
Tumblr media
“'Cause you are, you are
The reason why I’m still hanging on
'Cause you are, you are
The reason why my head is still above water
And if I could I’d get you the moon
And give it to you
And if death was coming for you
I’d give my life for you”
Even though not all of Dr. Strange’s speculations were correct, you decided to stick to his emergency plan: Find as much information about this “new” earth as possible, point out the differences to your initial one, and then contact the Dr. Strange of this dimension.
Two mages working on crossing each other’s path would at least higher the stakes to find your original timeline.
Well, no one could guarantee you that the Avenger’s existed on this timeline, and they could as well be evil in this one...what a weird and horrifying imagination.
Knowledge really was power - that was another thing Loki had taught you a long time ago, and it would prove valuable, especially in this situation.
As you wandered this surprisingly extensive garden and getting lost in admiring the beauty of it’s nature, you found yourself devoid of any weapons. That fact made you slightly uncomfortable, even though your current location seemed absent of any ememies, making a peaceful impression.
Seemingly there weren’t any evil schemes going on in this dimension.
It basically were only minor differences, at least that was your first impression. At least there were no changes in natural laws or something as big.
“I miss the days where magic and science didn’t mix up like this” you whispered, mainly to yourself as you examined the new, large scar on your abdomen - the only memory left of your “almost-suicide-mission”.
To be more precize: The only thing left from your former life, now leaving you able to start completely anew, wether you wanted it or not.
Sun had almost drowned behind the horizon, diving the sky in a deep orange. Your eyes were still adjusting, yet you could’ve sworn to see the silhouette of a person. It was far away, at the entrance on what appeared to be a palace belonging to this garden.
Apparently, you had invaded someone’s propery, and you could only pray that it was noone important - or worse, a owner who would defend their ground with violence.
You don’t think your earth had a place this...flashy. The castle was way bigger than any you knew on the other timeline. The first difference you had figured out, yet it was only a minor one.
Maybe the headache you were experiencing was from someone making you  out as an intruder?
One thing was sure: You had been noticed, and you immediately were on high alert.
Where to run to or at least hide?
There was a maze made out of bushed parting you and the palace, and since there was no better option, you’d enter it. Talking to that person and convincing them of your goodwill would make it way easier to gain information.
“You may come out” you declared as you made your way, unable to evaluate the situation properly. “I mean no harm. I’m just lost.”
Was it dangerous to be here? Obviously, you were not allowed to be here anyway.
However, when you had finally found the escape to that maze, only several hundret meters away from the building, the person was already gone.
Had your mind just played a dirty trick on you again? Wouldn’t be the firt time it’d betray you like this...
No. You clearly felt someone watching you.
And as soon as your senses had sharpened to your usual self again, you instantly jumped back, gaining some distance to the Citauri that had just appeared behing you.
Shit! You weren’t ready to fight again just yet. Not like this.
And where one of those vile beasts were, many others would appear. You knew that much.
Had Thanos invaded this earth? Oh god, not again...not him. You were so damn tired of those fights, escapes and especially the pain that always inevitable followed after.
Just when it was about to swing it’s weapon at your head, you felt dizziness crawl up your nerves, making you collapse on the floor. Lucky for you, because only like that, the stike didn’t hit you.
Even though having been taught basic magic skills, that certain kind of spell you were unable to fight against - only true masters of the art were able to perform a sorcery that well.
The Chitauri had left your line of sight, yet the other figure from before reappeared in a pace so fast that your eyes couldn’t follow. They sweeped you off the floor just before your head would meet the hard pavement.
“And now you will answer to me, shapeshifter.”
Once again someone robbed you of the control of your life and body, leaving you without a free will.
How long had you been passed out now? You didn’t know and honestly didn’t care either - since you had nothing to lose anymore.
In the meantime, the owner of those lands had dismissed his guards, not wanting to be disturbed as he was left alone with you in the giant throne room.
The apparent ruler of that unclassified location was sitting on his throne, warily observing you from above. You were lying to his feet at the bare floor, every piece of clothing robbed from you and restrained by a pile of chains. He watched every twitch, all breaths you’d take or groans escaping your mouth until you would finally awake.
Oh, how you really were just like he remembered you, with every little detail he had adored.
At long last, you would finally open your lids again, blinking heavily as you took in your surroundings - but when your eyes met certain emerald ones, they immediately sprung wide open, the emptiness in your heart being filled with all kinds of emotions once again.
The man - it was him!
“'Cause you are, you are
Oh, you are
Oh, you are
You are'Cause you are, you are
The reason why I’m still hanging on
'Cause you are, you are
The reason why my head is still above water
And if I could I’d get you the moon
And give it to you”
“Loki!” you screamed from the bottom of your heart. Without a single coherent thought, your legs would carry on their own as your weakened body stumbled in their attempt to climb those stairs.
For both of you, that momend of reuinion had waited far too long.
The god was temptated to approach you, his trembling hands already reaching out to catch your fragile body should you fall - but suddenly, you felt his knuckles digging into your cheekbone.
“Stay away from me, you fake!” Loki yelled furiously as you hit the ground, rubbing your cheek as you tried to understand what just happened.
Yeah, that sure brought you back to reality again, after such a short high.
Right.
That isn’t your Earth - and not your Loki either.
You couldn’t even be sure this world’s Y/N and Loki had the same kind of relationship the two of you had back in your timeline! The only thing you knew was that he knew you from his past, but as it seemed not pleasantly.
Now that you looked closely, he even had less scars, almost looking untouched and pure - like a true, invincible god. Maybe life here had treat him well, unlike his counterpart from your timeline.
He was still wearing that excessive outfit with the golden horns, and much to both your amazement and fear, it seemed that he still possessed theTesseract.
Could it be...
Before you could connect the dots, the king would soon interrupt your string of thoughts. “Drop that disguise, scum!”
Loki kept on degrading you as he paced in front of his throne, brow sinking deeper and deeper. “Don’t think you can somehow appeal to those pathetic sentiments” he explained, “I’ve freed myself from them long ago. Just stop making a fool out of yourself, and maybe I’ll reward it with a quicker death.”
Yet when he saw your most innocent smile, even this Loki would stand frozen in place, deeply in shock.
How he yearned to see it, all those years - to tell you just how sorry he was for everthing he’s done.
No.
He had left all of this behind - to claim his birthright and rule.
“I-I’m deeply so-sorry...that is a mistake” you whimmered with a broken voice, wiping a tear of joy out of your face. “My feelings overwhelmed me, I guess. I’ve never thought to see you again, even if you’re not the same Loki I know.”
Still cowering on the floor, you looked up to him with compassionate eyes, as if he had not just beat you before. You did not dare to make any more, wanting for Loki to try and understand himself.
“A variant?” he gnarled, just like you did when he realized.
No force in the world had allowed him to access other parts of the Multiverse, no matter how desperately he tried - and now fate had literally dropped you in front of his door.
Loki balled his fists in anger, making you flinch as you anticipated yet another blow.
“Dear, I-”
“Shut up!” the God of Mischief shoutet, causing his magic to break free. The walls of the palace were shaking, most windows and furniture having been destroyed. “It’s no use, woman!”
That man was way more powerful than the “puny god” people called names back on Asgard - and his sheer might made you quiver.
Just what kind of monster had he become, and why?
“L-Loki, please...” you tried to appeal to the last bit of humanity  he might possess, and your begging made his guts twist in agony. “You’re scaring me.”
“You better be scared!” he exclaimed, grabbing you by the chin and forcing you to look at him. “No matter what disgracefully weak “alter ego” of me you knew, I am built different. Stronger. Better. Everyone in the Nine Realms fears me, and I desire nothing else! Everything distracting me from fulfilling my destiny and reign over you dull creatures I got rid of. You’re nothing more than an insect I might as well crush right here and now!”
Choking on a sob, he tried to relish that last chance he got to admire you, smell you, touch what he cannot possess...no matter how many universes there may be.
A flood of tears cracked down your face at his words, yet you couldn’t be helped.
No matter what he would say - he looked just like him.
And that was enough for you to feel alive after such a long time of being a walking dead. There had to be a reason you landed right at his home, of all places in this universe. You had a connection, both of you felt it ever since you had been transported here.
"May I ask-” you disrupted yourself, awaiting some reaction. But the conqueror had seemed to have spoken what he thought important to say, not declining your question at all.
Whenever he seemed fit, he could disintegrate you - yet right now, this situation was way too intriguing.
“What happened to myself in this reality?”
Loki swallowed harshly, letting go off of you as he threw you down the stairs. He wouldn’t even bide you one look as he tried to surpress the turmoil of emotion still running through his veins, desperately keeping it from breaking free.
The outcome would always be the same: Suffering, for both of you.
“And if death was coming for you
I’d give my life for you.”
He only ever wanted it to stop hurting. To become unfeeling, since love had always been poisoning his mind, sometimes being gifted with it even though he knew he would never be worthy of anything else than disgust and hate.
And that contradiction caused him to throw away anything good that happened to him, through you. Let it be taken away from him just shortly after finally learning to remotely enjoy.
You deserved the truth, a reason to hate him even more than you probably already did.
Had you only come to his salvation earlier, then he might have been helped - yet now, he was beyond redemption. Broken. Sick. Dangerous.
And when the Chitauri dragged you away, his last words let your blood run cold:
“She died through my hands.”

Our Two Minutes
Time used to be a commodity that Mobius had in spades, back when things worked different in the TVA. Lately, though, with the fall of the sacred timeline and general new disorder of things - well, Mobius wouldn’t pass up just a few extra minutes to take a breath.
Loki doesn’t seem to mind, seems to thrive on the chaos. Minutemen running around. Time-doors opening and closing here, there, everywhere. Fires cropping up when you least expect it, some of which Mobius suspects Loki might be starting. Their usual research table in the library is a little too out of the way of most things to be a coincidence when it goes up in flames.
Not that Mobius minds seeing Loki in their element, especially with their magic back. They wear mischief like a second skin, along with those clever eyes and that easy smile. Though Mobius just wishes he wasn’t seeing it here at the potential end of all things.
Loki and Mobius are watching the branching trees on the timeline monitor when a report of a new fire comes in. This time in the cafeteria. A vat of salad has spontaneously combusted.
Mobius shoots Loki a flat look.
“What?” Loki asks.
Mobius sighs, but doesn’t have it in him to be mad. Loki’s been like this - a little bit brighter, maybe too bright - since they rejoined Mobius at the TVA. Mobius doesn’t totally understand. Obviously something bad happened out there past the void. But they can’t seem to find two minutes - just two minutes - to talk about it.
Nor what happened after.
Mobius has pieced some of it together: the way Loki fell through the time door, dead on their feet. The weary look they gave Mobius almost like they expected him to say something, he didn’t know what, but something wrong. How when Mobius recognized them, called their name, they pulled him into a bone-crushing hug, even as the library burned around them.
“It’s you,” Loki said then. “It’s finally you.”
“You can’t have salad for lunch everyday,” Loki says now. “Variety is the spice of life.”
“You stole that from a Hallmark card,” Mobius says. Before Loki can reply, he pushes forward, back on task, “We have to focus here. This could be the end of... I don’t know, everything.”
“Everything?”
“Timeline war. Mass annihilation?”
Loki hums. The way you would when your ice cream falls off the cone. Not, perhaps, the most appropriate reaction for the end of all life, past, present, and future.
“Loki.” Mobius turns to them, because while he is enjoying seeing Loki so... Loki, he’s also starting to get a bit concerned. Loki’s not known for being apathetic. Caring too much is sort of their M-O. At least for things worth caring about. Which Loki used to think this was.
“Yes, Mobius?” They continue to watch the screen, where the lines branch and branch and branch, too many now, numbers in the seven-digit mark.
Two minutes. That’s all Mobius would need. It’s all he hasn’t found.
Maybe he should make it.
Mobius places his hand on Loki’s shoulder, drawing their attention. They look at him, see his expression, and their smile dims. Mobius hates that he did that, but...
“This is a big deal. Cataclysmic stuff,” he says.
“Yes. Of course.”
Mobius turns toward them fully. “Don’t take this wrong. It’s great seeing you smile. But you get we’re probably going to die horribly? That’s definitely in the cards for us.”
Loki’s smile returns, but it’s softer. They laugh a little. “Mobius,” they say, and despite the laugh, the name holds a new, heavy weight that Mobius doesn’t understand. “You have no idea how long I have traveled to be here.” They shake their head. “I never thought I’d get here."
Mobius’s throat goes dry. “How long?”
Loki waves a hand. “Time is difficult to track between timelines.”
Timelines. Plural. “How many timelines?”
Loki’s smile vanishes entirely. The veil comes down in their eyes, and Mobius can see the age there. This is his Loki, but older. So much older. And so, so tired.
The thought of his Loki, a lone traveler through time, stakes straight through Mobius’s heart. Loki’s aren’t meant to be alone. They need family, and friends. They need love.
“So you can see why I have found fresh optimism,” they say, “Now that I have found you again.”
Found you. They can’t mean that. Not like that.
Loki looks back to the monitor, but Mobius isn’t done. Two minutes or twenty, to hell with time. This feels the most important now.
It’s selfish and silly, but maybe Mobius wants some of that optimism too.
“Loki, you could have stopped somewhere. I’m sure there’s another timeline that’s close enough -”
“No.”
Mobius swallows hard. Because with Sylvie in the wind and the void out of reach, the only thing in this timeline that Loki might even bother caring about is him.
Mobius knows he’s a smart enough guy, knows a lot about Loki’s, good at piecing things together most of the time. But thinking that Loki might have traveled for eons looking just for him is a bridge too far, no matter how the cards line up.
“There were probably other variants of me,” Mobius says and watches Loki stiffen. Another card in the line. “Maybe more agreeable ones. Prettier ones. Hey, did any have a jetski?”
He says it to get a smile. What he doesn’t expect is the absolute glower that paints Loki’s face, or the way they shift it toward Mobius like they might light him on fire next.
“You cannot be replaced,” Loki says, serious as a heart attack.
“Huh.” Another card falls into place. Mobius thinks of the long line of them, and knows he can’t ignore them anymore. Doesn’t want to. “Careful,” he says, prodding. “A guy might get the wrong idea.”
“Mobius,” Loki says, and they puff themselves up like they might say something more. But then they sigh and look back to the monitor.
Mobius doesn’t think he’s wrong about this, but he’d never push Loki, not in this. So he looks at the monitor too.
More and more branching. Imminent death, certainly.
Beside him, Loki speaks softly, “Is it so terrible a proposal? The idea of you and me?”
“I guess it depends who you ask.” In his chest, Mobius’s heart hammers, but he forces calm cheer to steady his voice. “If you ask me, no. Not terrible. The opposite of that, actually. Great. Fantastic. Amazing. Best idea of your life, and I know you’ve had plenty.” He shrugs. “But like I said, depends who you ask.”
“I...” They clear their throat, and when they speak again, it’s stronger. “I would agree.”
“With which part?” Mobius dares a glance at Loki and finds them staring back.
“All of it.” Their smile returns. “End of all things. Not the best time to start a courtship.”
“I disagree.” Mobius turns toward them. “Sounds like a great first date.”
Loki laughs, and Mobius feels lighter. The optimism is contagious.
Mobius holds out his hand and Loki takes it. They step closer. Closing their eyes, they press their cheek to Mobius’s. They whisper, “I will not be parted from you again.”
Mobius’s chest clenches tightly. “Exactly how many timelines did you go through, Loki?”
“Too many,” Loki says into Mobius’s ear. “But not near half of what I would, to return to you.”
Mobius rests a hand on Loki’s hip. “You must really like this folksy dope.”
Loki hums again, less lost ice cream, more fake consideration for a question you already know the answer to. “I’ll tell you a secret.”
“Please do.”
Loki noses the corner of Mobius’s neck and jaw. Mobius closes his eyes, certain he’s going to like this secret.
Assured, when Loki says, “I love him.”
The timelines continue to branch. They should probably care about that. And they will.
In a minute or two.
But first -
Mobius turns his head toward Loki and Loki kisses him.

World Building Wednesday!~ Etherium
🌼 I decided to share one of my AU worlds that is not Fell based. Yes... I know... what is the world coming to? Etherium in essence is my stab at an Outertale based universe though the story and the designs are very different. I really enjoy this one though I don’t talk about it too much. Let’s get started!
Etherium AU
Classification: Outertale Alternate “Nicknames” Info:
Tumblr media
Sans: Nova- Nova is the trickster though he is mostly associated with that of Loki. Loki is described specifically as “Playful, malicious ( ok maybe not that one), helpful, and nihilistic.” He helps others in a kind of goofy over the top way. He just doesn’t take much seriously. Nova is one of the youngest. He acts very childish at times coming to question how long he has been among the pantheon. Some argue his many centuries gave him a nihilistic outlook on life or that he is too young to understand the true ways of the world.
Not to say that Nova can’t be serious but he is pretty laid back. It’s one of the reasons unlike the others he doesn’t really keep his cultural ties in his design. He should have more Norse in it but nah… varsity jackets are cozy right? I mean he is wearing star shorts for stars sake. When asked about his job he mentions, “Hey, there kiddo. Nice of ya to drop by. Been up to? Heh well got a “new” job which is pretty cool. Not as cool as Pollux but I help arrange stars. Ya know, like the ones you see in the sky you can make pictures out of? I think you humans call em… constellations. One time I made this giant whoopee cushion one. “Then I lost ma job. Got a second chance though. Andromeda's constantly watchin me. hehe no harm done though.”  Both Pollux and Nova refer to each other as brothers but it is unclear if they are biologically related. Their abilities and strengths are nearly opposite and their mythos even more so.
Tumblr media
Papyrus: Pollux- The presumed older brother of Nova. Pollux is associated with Egyptology specifically wisdom. Pollux tends to be the opposite of Nova in that he takes his job very seriously. Once on earth he was known as Thoth gracing humanity with a mechanical and architectural knowledge that astounded the world. His mind and intellect put him at the forefront of innovation making him one of Capricorn's best and most trusted advisors.
He enjoys testing the mental prowess of others using puzzles and riddles of his own design. Unlike canon Pap Pollux cares more about balance in life. Something his younger brother seems to lack. Not all work and not all play. He is kind, helpful, and willing to give advice to anyone that is looking for it. To the little human Frisk he is a good mentor and teacher. (Pollux has made it his pastime to create a series of challenges to prove a humans worth. If they pass then they are able to speak/ see them. No one has managed to prove themselves.)
(more characters and info below the cut)
Undyne: Andromeda- Andromeda is not different from canon Undyne as she embodies the Mayan mythology. She is mostly closely associated with the feathered serpent Quetzalcóatl. A deity of wind and rain. Also known as the life giver. Though Andromeda tends to harken back to her more aggressive roots she has a deep respect for the King and acts as his guard. Just like Pollux she too acts as an advisor, though more on matters of security than strategy or mechanics. Such a position is where she first met Elara and to this day the two are inseparable sharing their very different cultures. Her favorite kind of anime to watch are mech based.
Alphys: Elara- Very similar to canon Alphys just as this version of Undyne is. Alphys is based off of Sukuna-Biko-Na (少名毘古那) or the shinto god of medicine and rain. Elara is still very much a scientist and one that has a unique fascination with living things. Everything from the planets, to humans, animals, and plant life. She particularly enjoys spending time in her private greenhouse creating and taking care of all of the plant life. Before the monsters were forced to leave their place among the humans she was able to collect all the DNA of the plants and animals on the planet.
They are stored in a kind of ark in which to preserve them if anything threatens their existence. Elara is very traditional in her work as her medicines are derived from her magic as well as herbal substances. She is very curious however as she is not allowed to interact with the progress of humanity but rather watches from afar. This is where her love of anime takes hold. Her favorites are ones like Sailor Moon or any type of magical girl anime. She will sit with Andromeda and watch them for hours. Her demeanor is very shy at first but once she opens up she will be a friend for life.
Asgore: Capricorn- The head of the cosmic pantheon he is the King as he is in the original. He is associated with Celtic mythos though he has taken on many pantheon roles in his lifetime. Ambisagrus, a god of thunder and lightning, Ancestor God, Sky God, God of Wind, Rain & Hail is what he is based off of. One such role is that of Zeus who’s main symbol is that of lightning and thunder. Just like the Zeus of mythology Capricorn is constantly debating his involvement with humanity.
Whether that be to stop their technological advances or aiding in their lives. A large portion of his time was spent with his subjects not so much his wife Aurora who is the jealous type. Capricorn is not a ruthless leader but he does know that sometimes hard decisions must be made. Just like UT Asgore he is kind and benevolent, however, he has a temper if you make him angry enough. His magical abilities lean more toward lighting then fire but he has that ability as well. He tasked Elara to watch over human development should a problem arise.
Toriel: Aurora- The Queen to Capricorn she is known to be easily jealous. It would explain why Zeus wife Hera also shares these traits. Her Gaelic deity tie is that of Arianrhod a goddess of the moon and stars. She creates life from the stars she creates sometimes causing them to take a form of their own. They are almost like living constellations. Some say that the Queen made such life to combat her own loneliness which her Son and Husband spent time away. In addition to the stars she is also known for being a loving mother and caregiver. In her time on earth she used to watch over and protect children and their families. Aurora though previously jealous of her simple in the universe has come to accept and embrace it. She is kind but rather over protective. Anyone that forsakes life will feel her wrath.
Muffet: Umbra- Umbra is associated with Hindu mythology as a goddess of wealth and prosperity. Though earthly riches do not concern Umbra she still has a taste for the fine silks and gold that she once had on earth. A little about the goddess that she represents: Lakshmi's name comes from the Sanskrit word laksya, meaning an aim or goal. She is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. Unlike UT Muffet, Umbra also focuses on a spiritual wealth. A peace of mind.
She is ever the optimist even when things do not turn out to go her way. In times of need she is called those in the struggles of self worth trying to bring them into a different understanding. There have been many a time when Umbra calms Capricorns quick and rash judgements, much to Auroras displeasure. Just as with the rest of the pantheon she is kind and helpful even with her yearning to return to the people she so loved before they were forced to the outskirts of the galaxy.
Grillby: Helio- Helio derived from sun is my OT Grillby. He out of all the characters could care less about either being a deity or an observer. He is known to be at a middle ground. He would rather live his days running a social establishment but during his time on earth he was known for his magic. Originally he was the right hand of Capricorn being depicted as a war deity for his fiery nature. He was the general of grand armies. His armor is something he hung up long ago but if called into court he will wear it once again. It’s design is very reminiscent of Roman centurions.
Though depictions of him are curious since his name back then was referred to as Merlin. He was best known for him magic and alchemy and the concoctions he made during a period of time far lacking in imagination. Just like Nova, Helio, tended to interfere far too often in the affairs of man though noble in purpose. He tends to be outcast among the pantheon for his past conduct but he is content in his lab mixing crazy concoctions. Everything from love potions to disguises. His forte is all about alchemy and magic.
Asriel: Azicree (Azi)- Azicree or Azi for short is the Crown Prince. By monster standards Azi is still very young, however, he has lived for far longer than any human can fathom. His mother used to shelter him until he begged for his father to let him prove himself. He still acts like a child always curious and desiring some form of exploration. Much to Capricorns dismay Azi enjoys spending time with Nova and the two become pranksters in general. He tends to not do as he is told, which is why they are in this mess in the first place. His reckless behavior had him appearing to a human that begged for his salvation.
The matters of life and death are ones that are not to be messed with. Those that do find their souls being tainted for all eternity turning them into something other than just a monster. 9X is an example of such tampering. Azi does learn his lesson and begins to try and shape up to be a worthy successor to his father if such a thing ever did come to pass. He studies off of all those he knows especially Pollux who is more than happy to share such knowledge. His associations are non existent since he was born after the times of gods. His abilities seem to be mimic based.
He is able to learn about abilities and use them at will. It is rare that monsters have children and as such Azi is the little prodigy child even though there are many times he just wants to be a kid. He makes friends with Frisk very quickly and learn a lot from the human visitor.
Gaster: Nero is the Gaster of this universe. He is Capricorns pantheon counterpart. In essence the Hades to his Zeus. He is the monster that everyone thinks about when darkness takes hold. He is the one that associates with apocalyptic events such as ragnarok. He is however not evil by any stretch of the imagination. He would be better suited to be called a god of chaos. He tends to reject the laws placed upon the rest of the pantheon regardless of repercussions.
It’s speculated that both Pollux and Nova were a part of him and crafted into the monsters that are known today. Nova being his more devious side which Pollux is more his intellect and drive. He has been locked away for a very long time in a prison aptly named Tarturus. His abilities are space and time oriented very similar to Nova which makes him difficult to imprison. He of course has been in his cell for quite some time and it is unclear if he actually has had a change of heart or using it as a manipulation tactic.
The only one he speaks with on occasion is Azi wanting to learn more about this planet they all used to call home. It is information that the others tend to not speak of. His father more so as he is afraid it will instill a yearning in his son. Nero’s genius is on par with his godly abilities such as creating artificial intelligence. Something that is not considered life. He uses Azi as a template for this new program...
Tumblr media
FLOWEY:
F- Friendly
L- Life-like
O- Operating system
W- With
E- Earthbound
Y- Yearning
Tumblr media
F.L.O.W.E.Y was created by 9x and Nova with Azi as a template. He is a charismatic AI who was originally created as a helper as well as to teach the Prince about their planet of origin. Unfortunately Flowey does not have the same reservations about disobeying his father as Azi does. Even going so far as to integrate with key and vital systems in The Capital. He even manages to intercept a human vessel that he finds exploring. Flowey is not evil he just is driven to be the best help he can without regards to any type of consequences. He helps Frisk meet and learn more about their existence. He acts as a companion.
However when Frisk becomes friends with Azi Flowey's AI goes haywire. He begins to feel emotions he is not technically allowed to such as jealousy. This causes him to try and eliminate those threatening him which in this case would be all the monsters. Eventually Azi attempts to program himself into the interface changing it’s initial programming.
Blookie: Nebula

Background and Context:
A long time ago there lived beings of great power. They could bend space and time with a simple thought and bring life to their creations. These were the gods. Ones of great benevolence but also great and terrifying power. Humanity, a primitive race just starting to understand life itself, became their focus. At first their interaction was very rare only occasionally appearing to help but as time went on those interactions became more drastic. Their assistance and knowledge was seen as godlike to this humans.
They would bring gifts and offerings to their new deities in hopes that they would look favorably upon them. That they would impart their wisdom and magic if they were pleased. In time this became more and more tradition. A religion built upon pleasing these deities so that their lives would be far improved but this became a conundrum for the beings. Some remained benevolent and helpful while others becomes greedy and wrathful. The power began to go to their minds corrupting their souls. These instances were written down in variation by the humans making up grandiose stories of fiery chariots and jealous gods. Thus mythology came into being for humanity. A way to explain the things in which they did not understand.
As with each religion and deity the monsters each became associated with a specific culture or mythos. Some being pinnacles of their pantheon and others being lesser deities molded to suit a specific task. These monsters rarely interacted with ones of their own kind but as power shifted some of them took on roles of others. One monster could have been the god of war in Greek mythos but end up also as the god of thunder in Norse. There were no limitations to their influence. One such “deity” was that of the trickster. A monster that tended to be rather childish in his ambitions jumping from pantheon to pantheon looking to lighten up his other “deities” stern demeanors.
The monsters began to pull away leaving their presences in name only and occasional help but this was short lived. It caused problems, war, destruction, and feuding powers sadly began to use their civilizations as almost pawns. Their meddling almost destroyed that which they wanted to originally protect. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The “gods” faded from existence only being remembered in myths and legends. The great prophecy of the Norse. The architectural marvels of the Egyptians. Now they reside in the furthest reaches of the galaxy. They spread out among the stars but a group of them resided in a Capital of sorts. A station at the edge of the Universe. One which no human could ever reach.
Tumblr media
The Humans Impressions:
When the monsters left the humans to their own devices they worship continued long after. Eventually the magic and the miracles that had once been performed faded into history. The monsters were all but forgotten unless mentioned in mythology or scary stories. The humans never harbored any animosity toward them since they no longer believed in their existence in any form. They only understand what their ancestors depicted them as. The monsters as well don’t really have anything against humans either. All in all, they just go about their jobs and enjoy the universe, helping from time to time discreetly if need be but never showing their faces.
Tumblr media
Main Plot Synop:
The plot to Outertale is very simple as it is more based around the world than it is the actual plot. It is very similar to that of the regular UT timeline with some notable differences. Once the humans reach an age of technological advancement they begin to spread out and search the stars. Some of them encounter monsters which they mistake for aliens (hilarious enough. I mean Jerry looks like an alien.) They begin to build colonies living more and more outside the reach of their own galaxy. Humans however tend to turn on their own creating factions within the space colonies. Some more prosperous than others.
Frisk’s colony was one such beast being cut off from the other colonies as a drifter. Unfortunately Frisk’s family was nearly non existent and being stuck on a space colony was little to be desired. After seeing a streak of fire slamming into the outskirts of the colony. Frisk decides to investigate. They have always been the curious type disobeying orders and questioning everything. The colonies outer and more dangerous regions became their playground finding old pieces of technology. Eventually they stumble upon a crashed ship. One that  It seems to damaged to be used but it’s nothing like they have ever seen before. Everyone else on the colony consider it to be cursed.
Tumblr media
The strange runic language is confusing but Frisk finds that there is one lone computer onboard that seems to still function. It flickers with a bright yellow light showing an almost pixelated Flower with a =) face on the screen. Over the next few days Frisk returns to decipher the runes with the help of their new friend which they find out is called Flowey. It is a project that the curious human enjoys and for once it is nice to have a friend. Eventually the runes are deciphered claiming some sort teleportation capability. Once Frisk is close enough the system fires up on its own sending the human straight to the monster Capital on the farthest reaches of the universe. A place that no human has ever been.
The rest of the story is an exploration of this new environment. Frisk befriends the monsters who don’t attack first. They actually mostly want to engage with the human showing off their ability a little bit. A part of them misses the previous worship. Nova seems to take a particular interest in this new human especially when they befriend Azi. They work to help shut Flowey down only for Azi to impart his knowledge on the interface helping it understand. Frisk has nothing to return to so they stay with the monster and become Azi’s human tutor so that one day maybe the monsters can return and live side by side the humans once again. Both Azi and Frisk are almost like siblings coined the star children.

FEH Height Chart (Book 1-4, Summoners)
Here I am, after 2 years?, finally back with an updated height chart!! These heights are based on if the character is standing straight up and with heels. If they’re slouching or bent over, that is not taken into consideration. For example, Helbini is slouched over in his art. How tall I put him in the chart is how tall he would be if he stood straight.
DISCLAIMER: While I do have proof for why most characters are as tall as they are in this chart, a few are still pretty vague about their heights, so I have given them estimations instead. These characters with vague heights are: Surtr, Hel, Eir, Freyr, Freyja, Plumeria, Triandra, Mirabilis, and Peony. Feel free to change these up to your liking!
Below are the proof and reasons of these heights. You don’t need to read it, but it’s here if you’re curious of what I have to say, like for example, why Loki and Thorr aren’t here, or why the cast of Book 5 was omitted, and others.
Any evidence I have taken is only of when characters are right next to each other, enough so that you can see their height differences without much distortions from perspective or weird angles.
Askr and Embla
Tumblr media
I was lucky to find a FEHkoma chapter where these three are standing together. Anna is not present in any of the animations, so she was the hardest to figure out how tall she is for the longest time. In Three Houses, Anna is 168 cm (~5'6"), but since the Heroes cast has no definitive height listed like in 3H, it’s hard to compare. So this shot from one of the chapters was a good find. From tallest to shortest, Alfonse>Anna>Sharena
Tumblr media
Now this might seem a bit of a stretch, but the reason why I took this as canon is that all of these heroes are drawn by different artists, thus giving them different proportions because they were drawn by different people. But IntSys scaled these artworks like this for a reason right? I had to move Lif and Thrasir a bit lower because their feet weren’t on the same level as the others, but other than that, these heights look valid.
Another evidence can be found in Dragalia Lost where both Alfonse and Veronica are right next to each other. In the Valentine’s Day screenshot, Veronica is around where Alfonse’s eyes would be, and in the screenshot below, that is about how tall she ends up.
Tumblr media
Here are for Lif and Thrasir (clearer version), and one for Bruno and Veronica.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for Alfonse and Sharena, it was noted in Book 2, that Sharena was quite short. But in Book 3, it seemed she grew a bit taller, so I took the latter version as the one being canon. You might say that’s Lif’s Sharena, and thus should be different than our Sharena, but the FEHkoma chapter above makes Sharena the same height as the one shown in Book 3.
Tumblr media
The results of the Askran and Emblian height differences was interesting. Gustav is the tallest character, with Bruno following next, and then Lif. Among the adult ladies, Henriette is tallest, then Thrasir, then Anna.
Nifl and Muspell
This is the screenshot that shows how tall Fjorm is against the Askran siblings. Since Alfonse and Sharena are pretty much a solid place to compare heights to, it makes Fjorm’s height a good place to start for comparing the heights of the Book 2 characters.
This is also how tall Sharena was before Book 3.
Tumblr media
These two artworks below were drawn by Shigeki Maeshima himself. As the artist of Book 2, how tall he draws his characters would be pretty valid. A nice thing that both Laevatein and Laegjarn were drawn against Fjorm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the last of the remaining Book 2 characters were luckily found in the FEHkoma.
Hrid and Helbindi are both taller than Leagjarn, however, both are a bit vague on how much exactly taller they are, so I made them both as tall as Lif. It works out because Ylgr, who is as tall as Helbindi’s chest area, is as tall as Gunnthra’s chin. And Gunnthra is a bit taller than Fjorm, who I have said before is a good place to start comparing heights to.
Tumblr media
As mentioned before, the only one who doesn’t have proof of their height is Surtr. It’s shown in the Book 2 trailer that is he quite tall, and even his sprite is the largest humanoid, biped sprite in the game so far. But that is all that’s known about his height. How tall he is to Alfonse, Sharena, or Fjorm is not clear. So I made him as tall as Gustav, who is the tallest proven character in the game.
Hel, Ljósálfheimr, and Dökkálfheimr
Now these characters...most of these are vague comparisons. Most of them have scenes together, but there are not against Alfonse or Sharena, hence why I said they have vague heights. Take these as a grain of salt.
Like with Surtr, I made Hel as tall as Gustav. Her body proportions in her art shows that she’s quite the lanky lady, which means she is tall. In the only scene she has with Alfonse with them "standing” (they are bent over), she is tall. Though how much exactly isn’t clear.
Tumblr media
What we can know from Hel and Eir, is that Eir is as tall as Hel’s chin.
Tumblr media
Same problem. These two have heights compared to each other, but not to either Alfonse or Sharena. So as a “base”, I just made Freyr as tall as Lif.
Tumblr media
At least these next characters have some base, still not solid though.
In Dragalia Lost, Sharena mentions that Peony is nearly her size. Which backs up this scene in the Book 4 animation where Sharena walks in front of a mirror and Peony shows up instead of her reflection. You could say that this is to show that they switched places in the past, and the Sharena now could not be the true Sharena. Even in the Book 3 ending animation, when Veronica switched to Thrasir, their models were the same height, when it is now clear that Veronica is shorter than Thrasir. This was to show that they were the same person. That reasoning could apply here as well with Sharena and Peony.
But it’s something for Peony, so I went with it. I made Peony as tall as Sharena.
Tumblr media
Now that we have some base for Peony, her scenes with Mirabilis and Triandra shows how tall they are in relation to the other characters.
In this scene with Mirabilis and Peony, there’s a bit of an angle and perspective that needs to be taken into consideration, but it wasn’t too drastic that I couldn’t use it. Because of perspective, Peony appears to be taller than Mirabilis, hence why I made Mirabilis as tall as Peony instead of shorter than her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And lastly, Plumeria. Other than the Book 4 ending animation, there isn’t much material of her for me to use. But I couldn’t use the Book 4 ending animation because the perspective and angles were making it hard for me to compare her to Triandra. All I got from it was that she looked taller than Triandra.
So I made Plumeria as tall as Henriette. But Plumeria could be as tall as Frejya, who turned out to be a bit taller than Triandra. As long as Triandra is the shortest dokkalfr, you are close to canon.
Unmentioned Characters
Loki and Thor were omitted because it was very hard to find how tall they are in relation to the other characters. Even in Dragalia Lost and in the FEHkoma, they are seen by themselves, with each other, or hard to decipher because of the angle/perspective. I could have just put them in like I did with Hel and Eir (I didn’t include them at the start), but what made me include them in the end was because we know Hel is very tall, and that was enough to give me a comparison. Oh Hel’s tall? Let’s make her as tall as the tallest guy.
What we do know is how tall Loki and Thor are compared to each other because of Shigeki Maeshima. If Loki were to straighten up, she appears to be the same height as Thor, or she might be slightly shorter.
Tumblr media
For the Book 5 characters, since there’s barely any content with them currently, so I have decided to omit them from the chart. We know they are short though since we were told, but I forgot where exactly. Reginn is shown to be as tall as Sharena, so Otr and Fafnir might be as tall as Alfonse or shorter.
Tumblr media
Dagr was drawn taller than Nott in the promotional art, but in the Book 5 trailer, Dagr was shown to be shorter. Sooooo I am confusion
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summoners
I’ve been asked by @charlie-darkheart-roxas to include the custom Summoners in here too, so here they are. I didn’t include them in the overall chart though. Photoshop was already dying with the characters I have put in, and to add 7 more? Photoshop will kill my laptop. They’re compared to Alfonse anyways, so if you want to compare how tall a Summoner is to someone else, compare that character to Alfonse too, and there you go.
How did I manage to get heights from the different summoners even though most have never appeared in an animation? Simple.
Tumblr media
Hooded Kiran is already shown to be taller than Alfonse in the Book 2 trailer, I think around Henriette’s height. Now selecting all the layers (in Photoshop) the Summoners are on, and scaling everyone at the same time, it keeps everyone in proportion to the Hooded Kiran.
And then I put them on the same “floor” so that they are on even ground. Surprisingly, the Summoners do have different heights. I’m surprised how short the white-haired Summoner is, and that the orange-haired Summoner is taller than the Hooded one.
Though of course, how tall the Summoner is, is up to you as the player in the end.
And that’s all for my updated height chart! I hope this helps you creatives out there with whatever you need this height chart for. I’ll do this again in a couple of years (maybe), or someone else do it for us ahaha

Loki x Sylvie fanfiction
[LOKI FINALE SPOILERS]
dt @entertainmentforgods
(every mean comments about this ship will be deleted. If you don't like this ship, please just ignore.)
They did it, it was over. The impossible had come true.
Their heart beating wildly, the anguish of their uncertainty gradually fades as they understand the finality of it all.
Loki and Sylvie had joined forces to destroy the true mastermind of the TVA. The overpowered individual who pulled the strings behind the curtain.
The Goddess of Mischief dropped her bloodstained sword on the dark ground, making a loud metallic sound. He Who Remains had just gave his last breath.
Sylvie took a deep breath while staring at the inert body of the one who called himself The Conqueror. As Loki stood behind her, he watched her worriedly. She had just accomplished what she had fought for all her life. So many years feeding a justified anger towards one man, for it turned out that the Time Keepers were nothing but a sham. So many years of hiding, of surviving in the midst of so many apocalypses instead of just living fearlessly. Instead of living happily, instead of laughing, smiling, dancing, singing, enjoying the present moment, observing the universe and its many wonders without them being destroyed around her, loving and being loved in return... All of that was taken away from her, because The Ruler had decided to do so. Because only one man had made the decision to sacrifice her timeline and her family and those she loved. She had lost everything as a child, because a human had condemned her existence.
And now, the latter had just died. He had lived millions of lives, and the last had just ended, killed by the vengeful hand of an innocent orphan.
Slowly, Loki moved closer to her as he kept his eyes on her. Then when he was right behind her, he gently took her hand to try to get her out of her torpor. Her face turned to him as her gaze was drawn to the ground. She was still trying to regulate her breathing and realize the previous events.
"Come with me…" He half-murmurs, his blue eyes tinted with green watching his partner's reaction carefully, anxious to see her breaking down despite her strength to contain her emotions.
It was then that she nodded softly, still too absorbed by this decisive moment in her life. Sylvie turns to him with the intention of following him, no matter where he wanted to take her.
A few seconds later, both found themselves outside the entrance to the Citadel.
Loki went down the few steps, before sitting quietly on one of them. His teammate was not far away and she watched him get comfortable, while thousands of thoughts jostled in her mind. Curious, Loki brought his attention to her. When their eyes met, she began her steps to him to sit beside him on the step.
A deep sigh escaped her lips as she sat down comfortably, her eyes fixed in front of her, finally noticing the awe-inspiring beauty of the sacred timeline they both would have admired sooner if it were in a less disastrous context. But now as they ran after time, it was as if it has just stopped.
The variants observed this painting before them, this masterpiece born from space and the end of the universe. For a moment, a pleasant silence rocked them in a surreal dream. Their eyes shine brightly, illuminated by the cosmos and time materialised in a perfectly fluid and sparkling line. But also, their intense feelings took over and tears had formed.
Hesitant but at the same time strangely confident, Loki turned to Sylvie, only able to imagine how she felt now.
"You're okay ?" He dares to ask softly.
Suffering of an internal conflict, Sylvie keeps her eyes wide open and try to look indifferent.
"I accomplished my mission, how do you think I feel ?" She replies naturally, almost on the defensive.
"Relieved ?"
"Yeah, among other things." She confirms with obviousness.
Amused by her slightly aggressive responses which, according to him, are what make her what she is, the god of mischief ends up stretching a tender smirk, realizing that this tone will never leave her no matter the situations in which they find themselves, as dramatic and catastrophic as they may be.
Innocently, Sylvie ends up looking at her partner.
"Why do you smile ?" She asks.
He smiles a little more.
"The real question is... why don’t you ?" Loki retorts, eyebrows raised.
The Enchantress raised her eyebrows in turn, that desperate, lonely look that makes her charm appearing on her face. What to answer to that? She had learned that Loki was insightful about her, but she wasn't used to being the center of attention that much.
"Why seek answers to trivial questions." She asks rhetorically as she looks away from him.
After a while, Loki also turned away, dissatisfied with her answer but still preferring to let go.
"So this is it..." He starts. "It's done."
"It's done." Sylvie asserts, nodding her head a little.
His eyes going here and there, Odin's son was asking himself lots of questions. Including one in particular.
"What do we do now ?" He wonders, seeming lost.
Sylvie took a deep breath again, ignoring like him the future of events.
"Should we go back to the TVA ?" Loki continues, bringing his gaze back to the one person he trusted.
"Why ?" She asks softly. "They don't need us anymore."
"But we don't have to hide." He responds with a comforting smile. "We are their allies."
"Is that what you want, to go back to the TVA ? But to do what ?" She asks again, looking into his eyes.
He thought for a moment, trying to unravel this enigmatic knot, stepping into the unknown.
"The Sacred Timeline is free" He said, emphasizing the first words in an exaggerated and caricatural way. "Maybe once we get there, we can look for another timeline where we can... fit in ?"
A silence took hold of them, leaving for only words the looks they exchanged.
Sylvie then ends up lowering her gaze in the direction of her own hands, revealing between her fingers the object that the Conqueror kept around his hand. The tempad.
"How about we take a break, until one of us finds a place to go ?" She offers softly, lost in thought as she doesn't take her eyes off the object.
"What, here ?" Loki asks, uncertain and surprised by her answer.
"Why not..?" She replies, her eyebrows raised, her mind being elsewhere. "When you've seen thousands of apocalypses, The Void isn't as bad as it seems."
Loki takes the time to consider this idea, thinking about everything else. The members of the TVA, the sacred timeline that has become completely independent, the very few people to which he is attached. They had just accomplished something huge, should they just ignore the multitudes of consequences their act caused ?
"It's over, Loki." Sylvie said, looking up at him.
Again, his gaze plunged deeply into her eyes
"We did what we had to do." She continues, looking serene.
"What if they still need us ?" He asks, referring to the TVA, specifically Mobius and hunter B-15, the only two people who believed in them and offered their precious help.
Sylvie watched the sacred timeline as it gradually divided, and she sighed.
"I am tired." She admits, ignoring Loki's question. "And you ?"
Loki admired the many timelines that continued to split, before taking a deep breath.
"Yes, me too..." He answers softly, releasing his breath, releasing the pressure he had been holding since his arrival at the TVA and which he hadn't known he had kept in him all this time until now.
However, he couldn't shake off his negative thoughts and all his apprehensions about the completion of their mission and the impact it will have on the trillions of people the universe can create. The god of mischief had, against all odds, developed a conscience and a moral code. Yes, they had delivered the world by giving it back its free will. But for some reason that he didn't quite understand, he began to doubt.
And buried into his torment, Sylvie brought a comforting hand to his.
Loki laid his eyes on this delicate hand, yet belonging to that of a warrior, his heart missing a beat at the gentle contact of the one he had become crazy about. In this moment of complexity, in this major turning point for the multiverse, he almost forgot his feelings. He almost forgot the way they looked at each other in the Citadel as they walked into the darkness. He almost forgot the moment she had gripped his hand in the Void, in front of Alioth, hoping to help him unleash his enchantment powers.
Suddenly caught up in his emotions, he looked up uncertainly in the direction of his partner. Then, she gave him a brief smile, but oh so genuine. The same smile she had given him on Lamentis, while everything around them was death and destruction. Apparently everything was written. But he decided to ignore this detail that the conqueror had shared with too much pride.
Still confused by these unusual feelings, Loki returned that affectionate and heartwarming smile. Only, looking into her expressive eyes - but in the greatest secret, a loving gaze- he realized that the very thing he wanted above all now was to never leave her again. To stay by her side, as long as possible, even forever, better than that : beyond death. His desires made him all the more nervous. He never thought he would be so consumed by his moods, let alone by a loving emotion that possesses him more and more after each day he spends in her company. Nevertheless he wanted to seize this desire and make it come true.
This time, it is the TVA that he forgets, it is the universe that he neglect, it is the time that he ignores.
It is his glorious purpose that he gave up, because he found a new one...
"Sylvie..." He said, drunk with love for her. "I..."
"No, Loki, wait." Sylvie interrupts him, being totally lost and frightened at the same time. "I have to tell you something..."
"Yes ?" He asks, innocent, patient, in love.
She looked at him intensely, trying to express herself. Something seemed to upset her. Loki was trying to read into her eyes, to read her face, when no word could break the barrier of her lips. Disturbed by this confession, it turned out that it was getting stuck between the walls of her throat.
So the Prince of Asgard frowned, intrigued by the torture she was inflicting on herself through this mysterious revelation.
"I..." She starts before her lips instantly seal.
She took a deep breath, bracing herself for another attempt, as Loki's piercing, loving gaze dug into her pupils until it consumed her whole being.
When finally, in complete disarray, she ends up throwing herself at his neck.
Her lips crashed against his, tenderly, passionately but mostly timidly. Surprised but more than grateful for this proof of unexpected love, Loki was not long in returning her kiss with just as much fervor.
Sylvie had never been attached to anyone. She never wanted to be weak because of her feelings. She would never have dedicated herself to someone body and soul, for trusting and breaking down the imposing and solid walls she had built around her was inconceivable. And yet, faced with the many selfless acts of the one who had irrupted into her plan, she had found herself giving him importance. She hated knowing that she was only considering trusting him. She hated the fact that he could climb these walls she had locked herself between.
Worse yet, she was terrified to find herself reaching out to help him climb.
Eyes closed, they kissed each other with fragility, embarrassed to feel such intense emotions but oh how much they surrendered to them.
Sitting side by side, they relished this moment of sincerity and calm after all they had endured. The highlight of their journey. The completion of a battle for freedom, the same cause that the rightful king of Asgard fought against to make it inaccessible to the people of the earth. This cause that he finally chose to defend ; for him at the beginning, but for her on the way, and for the others at the end of their fight.
Slowly, they parted. Loki then dared to rest his forehead tenderly against hers. They kept their eyes closed, as if to immortalized this moment in their memories, for who knows what might happen to them tomorrow.
That's why he whispered these few words :
"You're right, I... I'm a little tired..." He admitted again hesitantly, unsettled by this moment of pure sincerity.
Keeping her forehead against his, Sylvie nodded gently, not daring to open her eyes to face the truth she still had trouble swallowing.
"Let's stay here..." Loki continues.
"Only for a little while." She continues nervously, muttering her desires like him, probably too afraid that someone will hear them or too embarrassed to admit she is weak in front of him, while he is weak in front of her.
"Yes, after all... If something goes wrong, they know where to find us, right ?" He responds with a raised eyebrow as he still kept his eyes closed, trying to reassure himself by making excuses to stay.
"Yeah, of course, nothing prevents Mobius from coming back here." She confirmed casually.
"Well, unless... Unless he had to prune himself." He said worriedly. "But it’s not as if we have no way to reach them !" He adds anyway, optimistic and trying not to feel guilty.
“Yes ! We have the--” She mimics his optimism, as she pulls away from his forehead to observe the object in her free hand.
"T-the tempad..." He confirms by muttering and nodding his head, bringing in turn his attention to the latter.
The taste of her lips was still too present on Loki's for him to think properly. However, he was trying.
Shyly, he finally looked at her again, a quiet smile displayed on his face.
Of course, Sylvie had noticed it. How to ignore him ? So, embarrassed, she gave him an uncertain look, having no idea how they should react now. After all, despite their thousand years of life, the variants had never really been devoted to feelings or romance that seemed more than superfluous and unnecessary at the time. Although they were aware of their emotions, repressed or not, knowing how to react to them was still an area to be explored.
The landscape around them gradually brought her back to reality. Then, looking worried, she turned her gaze to the entrance to the Citadel. She remembered the corpse of the He Who Remains, the one who had wiped out her timeline and certainly thousands more.
Loki frowned, noticing the change in expression on his partner's face.
"Are you sure you’re okay ?" He asks once more with patience.
Lost in thought, Sylvie continued to look at the place where everything had changed with a blank stare.
"No..." she sighs slowly.
The god of mischief was envious to possess the complicated mind of his variant for the sole purpose of finding the source of her ill-being. It would be enough for him to touch her to enchant her, now that he knows the secrets of enchantment. However, would he dare ? He hesitated for a fraction of a second, before totally rejecting the idea away from him. He was incapable of defying her trust, for he knew full well that he would risk a lot if he tried. Especially since he was still cruelly lacking in experience concerning enchantments.
"But when I wake up tomorrow knowing that the one responsible for all this horror is only a memory, then I could savor every second of my life." She asserts returning her attention to Loki as if nothing had happened, speaking with confidence and lightness.
Perplexed but somewhat reassured, he just nodded briefly, straining to accept her answer. However, something in him told him that she wasn't being entirely truthful.
"...Glorious purpose." He said, trying to lighten the mood.
"Mh..." She only answers, a quiet smirk nestling in the corner of her lips.
Calm eventually took over. Neither of them spoke, only watching the story of trillions of lives forming before their eyes in those many fluorescent lines.
"We're not leaving." He speaks up, his statement sounding more like a question mark.
"We're not leaving." She repeats with a little more conviction than him.
Slowly, he finally took a light breath, before sighing in contentment.
After an extremely difficult journey that could have cost them their lives, even though the Ruler had decided that they would be spared so that they could both achieve their goal, they were going to be able to rest, they were going to be able to breathe. Because even if the gods have more ability than humans to resist fatigue and pain, they could do nothing before the effervescence of their emotions. And as tough as they could be, they were tired, mentally and physically.
Thereupon, on this mutual agreement, the two variants had decided that it was time for them to rest for a while. They didn’t know what they were going to do. But they had decided to figure this out…
Together.

The Multiverse of Madness - Chapter 1
WARNING: This is a sequel to Reality Check! Should you go any further this is going to make absolutely no sense to you! I highly recommend reading Reality Check first!
Summary: After the events that unfolded in Westview, New Jersey, Wanda Maximoff had dropped off the face of the Earth. Now, Doctor Strange has found her traveling across the multiverse, destroying worlds in her path. To defeat her, he's going to need some help from the God of Mischief and the Phoenix themselves.
You rested in your hotel room on the outskirts of New Asgard. It was peaceful there, calm. A sensation you hadn’t felt in a long time. After the incidents with Wanda you decided it would be best to watch over New Asgard. In a way, it reminded you of the home you lost years ago. While you knew Loki had never been there you know he would’ve been proud of it. Well, your Loki would’ve been proud of what it had become. You weren’t sure about the Loki you had met in Westview.
You didn’t know what to call him. Technically he was Loki, but a different timeline of him. A different version. Not necessarily good nor evil, just Loki. At times you wondered where he ventured off to. Maybe he found a different timeline to settle in. A different universe maybe. It all sparked your imagination in more ways than one. While you were up in New York City to take care of a problem Nick Fury was having you ended up running into Stephen Strange. He hardly remembered you from the battle only a year ago, but he tried to explain the multiverse to you to the best of his ability.
Different galaxies were already a concept that was hard to digest but thinking about entire universes was a whole new idea. There’s no way to properly gauge it. It made you wonder what limit there was to the possibilities. Was there a universe where Thanos never existed? Was there one where everything was happy? Oh God, what if there was a universe where zombies existed? The final thought made you laugh every time, but you had to assume that it was possible much like everything else.
It wasn’t something you liked to think about too often though. After the chaos that had been the past 10 years, you wanted to settle down somewhere for a while, which was New Asgard. A home that mixed both worlds that you had once lived in into one place. It was quiet, peaceful, and certainly relaxing after what happened in Westview. Besides, Thor would probably appreciate it if you made sure to keep an eye on what was going on. While he trusted Valkyrie, it was nice to know that there were other Avengers protecting New Asgard.
Of course, that peace and quiet wouldn’t last for too long.
~
It happened while you were gathering ingredients from the community gardens with Asgardians. You had started teaching classes that involved recipes you had learned from your time on Earth to show them how to properly cook meals using ingredients they would find on this planet. Unfortunately, a lot of Asgardian meals couldn’t be made here due to missing meats and vegetables, so someone had to teach them how to cook. It gave you a reason to be there, to keep moving. It gave you motivation now that the universe was at peace.
Just as you were collecting a bundle of carrots you heard the portal behind you. The magic had a dull hum and shimmering noise as Doctor Strange walked through. You watched as he took a moment to breathe. The Asgardians around you quickly backed away, watching the sorcerer supreme in awe. “Y/N,” He greeted you.
“Strange, what are you doing here?” You asked, placing the basket down on the ground.
“It’s a long story. But I need you to come with me. Wanda has gone tampering with the multiverse. I need your help.”
“Strange, I don’t know about this-” You stopped yourself as you saw a man walk up behind Stephen. A permanent grin seemed to be on his face as he looked around at his surroundings. Finally, his gaze fell back on you and your eyes widened.
“Hello, darling.”
“Loki?” You finally choked out.
“The one of many,” He stretched his arms out, his grin widening.
“What are you doing with Doctor Strange?”
“There’s no time, Y/N! I’ll explain when we’re back at the Sanctum. For now, we have to go!” Strange interrupted, taking your hand and pulling you through the portal.
Loki quickly followed behind, letting the portal close behind the three of you. The Asgardians stood there for a moment, unable to register what had just happened in a matter of seconds.
“Was that Prince Loki?”
~
You stumbled as Stephen finally let go of your hand. Loki held an arm out trying to steady you, but you ignored him, straightening out your shirt. “What is the meaning of this?!” You asked the sorcerer. From across the room you could see Wong entering with a book. While you didn’t interact with Wong all that much, you enjoyed the few chats you’ve had with him. Giving him a small smile he waved at you before focusing back on Strange.
“I found the book,” He stated, handing a centuries-old book to the man. It was a hardcover piece, the size of a dictionary, though you were sure it held more information than a dictionary ever could.
“Good, thank you,” He replied, opening the book up and brushing through the pages. You watched as he quickly skimmed through the pages, looking for one in particular. “Y/N, what do you know about the multiverse?”
You shrugged. “Only as much as you’ve told me.”
“So, you remember what I told you about it? About how it includes all of the different ways events could have ended up?”
You nodded, noticing how he finally looked up at you, stopping on a single page. “The multiverse is being tampered with by Wanda.”
“Wanda?!” You exclaimed. “She hardly knows how to control her own powers, how would she know how to mess with the multiverse?”
Strange placed the book down, giving you easier access to viewing the page. It was an illustration of the Scarlet Witch facing off against three people. Behind her were wisps of magic and what looked to be two people behind her. “What is this?” You asked, letting your fingers brush over the page. The text was in a language you couldn’t read, but you were sure it was one Stephen had to learn and study.
“A prophecy.”
“Oh, don’t give me that crap,” You said, rolling your eyes. “You make it sound like we’re in some kid’s movie or something.”
“That’s exactly what it is, love,” Loki spoke up finally. You looked up at him, scanning his features for any hint of a lie. He was dead serious.
“Well, who is that with Wanda? And who’s fighting her?” You asked. You had a hunch on who the people fighting her were, but you weren’t sure about those behind her.
“It’s me,” He pointed to the figure on the left, donning a cape, “Loki,” He pointed to another, who wielded a dagger in one hand and glowing magic in the other, “And you,” He finally made it to the third figure, who seemed to be in the middle, fighting Wanda directly.
Your hand dropped as you scanned the drawing. “And those with Wanda?”
Strange looked at them, his eyebrows furrowing in the process. “I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?” You asked, your voice raising slightly in worry. Loki placed a hand on your shoulder.
“We’ll figure this out. But we need your help to do it,” Loki said.
“I hardly know what’s going on here though. All you two have told me is that Wanda is messing with the multiverse and that there’s some prophecy that makes it look like we fight her. Tell me everything that’s going on. All of it.” You said, backing away, forcing Loki’s hand to drop.
“You may want to take a seat for this one.”

Playing House: Part 2: Loki x Sylvie Fanfiction (Rated: T, Humor/Romance).
Part 1 here. Masterlist of Sylki fanfictions here. This chapter mostly fills in the gaps and acts as a backstory, providing some answers. Sylki hijinks in next chapter!
---
Sylvie wakes up the next morning with the sunrays lighting up the room through the windows. It's so different from the life she has always known- hiding in the shadows, endlessly on the run.
She has spent her entire life waking up in unfamiliar places. Yet, this feels different. This feels familiar, almost mundane. Even though some unknown dangerous entity has trapped them here, it feels... safe.
And she swears it has nothing to do with the fact that his arm is wrapped around her waist, and how it makes her feel protected. Nothing at all.
This is what her dreams were made of- a home, a person to wake up next to every day, a sense of serenity instead of the ever present death and despair. And now she has it all.
She shifts a little, earning groans of protest from him, and it makes her smile. The warmth radiating from his body makes her long to stay like this forever. Slowly and reluctantly, she pulls his arm off her body and places it on his chest, her smile widening as she watches him sleep. "Loki?"
He groans. "Please, mother. Can you awaken Thor first?"
She touches his shoulder gently. "Loki, it's morning."
"No, mother, princes do not wake up so early", he mumbles in his sleep.
She just cannot bring herself to force him awake. Not when he looks so happy.
---
His morning starts at 10 am. He picks up the newspaper that the delivery boy left on the porch. Apparently, it's 2021, there's a new president, and a new iPhone, whatever that is.
She makes breakfast. It's just milk and cereals, but it's the first meal they have both had at a kitchen table with someone akin to a loved one in a long, long time, and it feels good.
He picks up his phone, hoping to learn how to properly operate it, and goes through his contacts list. There are a lot of people that he does not remember meeting, mixed with people that he never wishes to meet again, but one name in particular makes him pause. "Thor's number is programmed in my phone."
Sylvie looks up in confusion, clueless why this is significant. "Alright?"
"I didn't know he even had a number." Loki explains. Maybe it's recent? Maybe that is the reason he did not know, and it's not because they have been at odds lately?
"Maybe it's not Thor?" Sylvie suggests. It is a different reality, after all. Everything may be just an illusion.
Loki takes in a deep breath, bracing himself for what he knows he has to do. There is only one way to find out.
---
There are exactly four rings before he hears the familiar voice on the other side of the line. "Hello, brother."
"Hello, brother." He clears his throat, trying to push down the emotions swelling in his chest. In reality, he last saw Thor the day he was captured by the TVA. Yet, it feels like a lifetime ago. "How have you been?"
"I've been well", Thor answers. There's noisy chatter in the background, like a restaurant or a bar, and what sounds like old 60s music. "How are you?"
"I am well too." Loki lies. "It is so good to speak to you. Umm, how are the Avengers?"
There's a brief pause on the other end. "The Avengers? You are enquiring about my friends? Are you not going to ask about mother and father?"
Loki forgets how to breathe. "M-mother and father?"
"Yes?" Loki can picture Thor rolling his eyes as he speaks. "Our mother and father? The people who have loved and adored us our entire lives? Rings a bell?"
The last time Loki met his parents, they were furious and disappointed with him for his betrayal of Asgard. Then New York happened, and he is sure those emotions were heightened.
The rest of it, he has only watched on the projector screen at the TVA and not experienced himself, but he heard his parents express how much he means to them, right before watching them die. After spending the last few months angry at them, and craving power that makes him superior to Thor, he realised in that one moment that none of it mattered. All he wanted was the life he once knew, the life back at Asgard, the one he can never return to.
It's a truly cunning being that has trapped him in a reality where these cruel events may not have happened. Trap a man in hell, and he will burn it to the ground, trying to find his way out. Trap him in his heaven, and he is forever imprisoned. This is an eternal prison indeed, because why would he ever want to leave?
"Mother and father?" Loki repeats, still in disbelief, and a little optimistic. "They are not dead?"
"What kind of sick question is that, brother?" There's the familiar irritation in Thor's voice. "Why would you even ask that?"
"I'm... I'm sorry. I just feel a little... disoriented."
"Is everything alright with you?" Thor pauses, hesitating before he asks the next question. "Are you having marital troubles? Is Sylvie alright?"
"You know Sylvie?"
"Of course I know your wife." There's genuine concern now. "You are scaring me, brother. Is this a trick?"
"No, no." Loki shakes his head for emphasis, even though Thor cannot see it. "Not a trick, brother. I am just happy to hear your voice."
The line goes dead. There's a flash of thunder, a loud bang in the backyard, and then a thunderous voice. "Loki?"
Loki rushes to the backyard. Sylvie follows him, ready to fight the intruder, if necessary. She finds a blonde man in 60s clothes, wielding the hammer that she knows too well.
Sylvie goes pale. She hasn't seen her brother in ages, and this isn't her brother. She has never met this man, never played with him, never turned him into a toad, and definitely never missed him. Yet, her heart aches at the sight of this stranger who is another version of him.
"Oh, hi, Sylvie." Thor smiles warmly at her, before it turns apologetic. He tugs at an ear. "Sorry about your flowerpots." He glances at the mess he has made- again- vowing to land on the street next time. He spots Loki standing in the background and gives him a slight nod. "Brother."
"Brother." Loki takes a step forward, resisting the urge to rush to his brother and embrace him tightly. Not long back, they were on opposite sides of the battle. All he wanted back then was to be equal to Thor.
All he wants now is to be brothers again.
"Thor?" Sylvie says his name carefully, like it's a word that can break this spell. "Is that really you?"
Thor feels the panic coming back. "Alright, what is the matter with you two? Are you on drugs?"
"Me? Drugs?" Loki scoffs indignantly. "You are the one who looks like you just spent a week at Woodstock."
Thor takes a brief moment to glance down at his outfit- courtesy of StarJerk- before returning his undivided attention to the couple that is acting extremely strange.
"Prove that you are not on drugs." He places the hammer on the ground, next to Loki's feet. "Here."
"You want me to lift Mjojonir?" Loki stares in confusion. "Are you insulting me?"
"You can't lift it, can you?"
His irritation grows. "Of course I can't lift it. I've never been able to lift it."
"Loki... You... We've... Do you not remember the time we..." Thor stares at him, dumbfounded. "Do you really not remember that you too can wield Mjojonir?" Then another thought occurs to him, one which seems more likely. "Wait, is this another elaborate scheme of yours to steal Mjojonir?"
Sylvie takes in a deep breath, pushing down all the complicated emotions that have found their way into the spotlight since she met the mirror image of her brother. Right now, she is trapped in a reality that is not of her choosing, by an entity that is not known to her, and she cannot allow herself to get lost in the illusion. The man in front of her is merely an opportunity, one which she has to seize. "Alright, then. Come in already, brother." She tilts her head towards the door, gesturing at the brothers to come inside.
"Brother?" Loki mumbles under his breath.
Sylvie shrugs. "Well, he is your brother, and I am your wife, right?"
---
Thor walks through the kitchen and into the living room like he knows the place extremely well. He sits down on the couch- in the spot that Loki already considers his own spot, Loki notes with annoyance - and examines a cushion. "I see you replaced these after the mishap with the gun."
Loki and Sylvie exchange a look. They have no idea what he is talking about, but if they know themselves at all, they were definitely the ones responsible for the incident.
"Here, have a drink." Sylvie offers him a coffee mug filled with whiskey on the rocks. When Thor reaches for it, she covers his hand with hers.
Loki feels that ever familiar feeling that he has felt anytime something he wanted has gone to Thor instead. It's not like Sylvie is his actual wife, and he has any right to be jealous. But the mere sight of Sylvie's hand covering Thor's is a source of extreme irritation for him. "What are you doing?"
Sylvie places the finger of her free hand on her lips, asking him to be quiet. She returns her attention to Thor. There's a flash of green, travelling from her hand, to Thor's, and rising up his arm, to his heart. "Oh, the gun. That was something. Remember the day we met?"
Loki finally realizes what is happening. "Are you enchanting my brother?" He whispers.
Sylvie rolls her eyes, whispering back at him. "Obviously."
"You can't enchant my brother!" He hisses. "He's my brother!"
"And you've done worse to him." She points out. "We need to know what he knows."
Loki sighs, finally giving in semi-reluctantly.
"You know how we met." Thor answers, confused, and oblivious to the conversation between his brother and his wife.
"I know. But let's reminisce." Sylvie keeps her tone calm and cheerful. "Tell me about the good old times."
"It wasn't good." Thor reminds her. "You broke Jane's telescope."
"Right. Good ol' Jane." She fakes a laugh, before turning to Loki. "Jane?"
"The human he's dating." He supplies.
"Human?"
He gives her a sad nod.
"And what is my name, my full name?"
"Sylvie Lushton, from Broxton, Oklahoma. You took my brother's name only to escape the internet fame under yours. Clever." It is clear from the way he speaks that he thinks highly of her.
Loki and Sylvie exchange another look. A few days back, this is when he would have asked about Mjojonir, what the deal is with him apparently being able to wield it. But now, he can think of only one thing, because there is only one thing that actually matters. "Ask him about my parents."
"And your parents? Where are they now?"
"At New Asgard, of course." Thor tells her like it's obvious. "The same place they were the last time you visited."
Sylvie lets go of his hands abruptly. The thought that she probably has a set of parents at Oklahoma, and a version of Odin and Frigga at New Asgard is too overwhelming. She leans back against the sofa, trying to catch her breath.
Thor blinks, trying to adjust to the fact that he is back at Sylvie and Loki's living room instead of his bed chamber at Asgard. "Did you just-?" Realizing what happened, he stares at Sylvie in shock. "All the years, and you have never once tried to enchant me, not even when Loki begged you. You have always been a loyal friend to me." His voice grows resolute, like that of a man on a mission. "Tell me this instant what is going on with you two. I demand answers."
"I'm sorry." Sylvie tells him sincerely. She knows now that this man is not the one responsible for the illusion. His memories are real, at least to him. He is not a danger to them
Loki smiles sadly. "You wouldn't believe us even if we told you."
Thor crosses his arms in front of his chest and leans back against the cushions, making it clear that he is not going anywhere until he is satisfied. "I travel through space with a talking racoon and a grunting hormonal tree. Try me."
"Okay. We are from a different reality. Two different realities actually." Loki begins his Loki lesson. "I was supposed to be immortalized in the hearts of Asgardians after meeting a heroic end in glorious battle with Thanos. Sylvie was taken from Asgard when she was merely a child. There is this evil organization called the TVA. Time variance authority. We weren't supposed to exist, yet we existed. So these pathetic, low-life bureaucrats arrested us. We were trying to find the man in charge. We were so close. Then we found ourselves here abruptly."
Thor just stares at them, utterly confused.
"You're rubbish at this." Sylvie comments, before taking over the storytelling duty. "Loki and I are not who you think we are. We are from a different reality. Your memories are not real to us. They never happened to us. I have never met you. And we are most definitely not married."
"Ouch." Loki places a heart over his chest to express his hurt. Sylvie grins at him.
Thor tries his best to process this wild tale. "Let me get this straight. You're telling me that my brother, my only brother-"
"Adopted." Loki interrupts with the quip. He can't stop himself.
"- My annoying brother", Thor continues, "is supposed to be dead? And you? You're from Asgard?"
"I'm him, actually." Sylve explains. "Well, not him, another version of him, the superior one. I'm Sylvie Laufeydottir." She half smiles at Thor.
Thor stares at Sylvie, then at Loki, then back at Sylvie again. "Are you sure you're not under the influence of any narcotics?"
"Yes!" Loki reaffirms, more exasperated by the minute.
"Are you sure I'm not under the influence of any narcotics?" Thor wonders.
"Not really." Loki admits.
"But I assure you, what we are saying is the truth." Sylvie looks him in the eyes, hoping he can see the honesty in hers. "This life, this house, we have only known it for a day."
Thor is quiet for a long while. When he speaks again, his voice is more sympathetic, and less skeptical. "Would you like to know more? About your past, I mean? The one I know?"
"Of course." Sylvie answers immediately. Part of it is to gather information so that they can decide how to get out.
There's another part of her that really wants to know what a happy life looks like for her. She can't resist the temptation to sneak a peak down the rabbit hole.
Thor takes a sip from the mug. The ice has melted by now, but the drink is cold enough. Taking in a deep breath, he begins. "I met you six years back at London. You were filming something for YouTube, and you accidentally broke Jane's telescope. You were gracious enough to offer to buy her a new one. But she wanted nothing to do with you." He adds, as an afterthought, to lessen the blow. "It's nothing personal, Jane just doesn't really like influencers. You gave me your number, in case she changed her mind."
"A while later, Loki stole my jacket. Well, borrowed, in his words, but I haven't seen it since that day, so you be the judge. Where is it, by the way?"
Loki rolls his eyes. "Isn't it clear that I do not know?"
"Right." Thor nods. All of this is still bizzare to him, but he's willing to be open to the possibility. "Anyways, Loki found the little card with your number in the pocket, and he called you up. You hung up on him within a minute. That's your version of the story, anyway. Loki swears you talked to him before you hung up."
"And then my brother, ever so proud of himself, took that personally. He called you back to tell you off." He puts on his best Loki imitation. "I'm Loki, the prince of Asgard, the God of mischief, and you must treat me with respect, or I will use my hairgel to slick your hair back too. Bla bla bla." He grins when he notices Loki glaring at him, and his grin grows wider at the next part. He looks at Sylvie with a smile that conveys how proud he is of her. "You hung up on him again."
"He Googled you up and showed up at your doorstep the next week, ready to turn your clothes into snakes and show you your place. But the moment you opened the door, my brother was putty in your hands. Seriously, he wouldn't shut up about you for weeks."
"Instead of snakes, he gave you flowers. He serenaded you, actually. What was the song, brother? When she sleeps- no, wait." Thor hums the tune, trying to remember the words. "That's it! When she sings, she sings come home." He laughs, like he always does when he imagines Loki acting like a lovestruck fool. "I can't believe you didn't get a restraining order on him. He kept sending you flowers every day. Until you finally decided to go out with him. You guys hit it off right away. Your parents liked him. I don't know why." This earns him another glare from Loki and results in another grin. "Our parents liked you. It was all surprisingly easy."
"Loki proposed during the Convergence. He was so nervous about it. It was fun to watch him squirm."
"You had a June wedding. You moved here after a few months. And you've been happily married since."
It's almost impossible for either of them to imagine a world where they have sworn to spend eternity with another person.
But it's not impossible at all, not anymore, not when they have found each other. Sylvie tries not to dwell on this for long.
Another thought occupies her instead. If she is not an Asgardian princess in this reality... "How do I have my powers?"
Thor shrugs. "How does anyone have their powers? How do the Avengers have their powers?"
They still do not know who did this, but now they have an idea about what was done to them.
If he's being honest with himself, a reality where he and Sylvie both exist together, where his parents are alive, and Thor doesn't hate him, is not the worst thing in the world. It is almost like a scene from his dreams, depicting his heart's desires.
"Thank you." Sylvie sincerely tells Thor. "Now we need to find a way out."

How study and practice must dialogue in witchcraft (unpopular opinion)
Especially on the internet it is full of more or less young witches yelling at novices that they need to study, but then what? Often they don't give advice on which books to read or do, but they discredit all authors other than the one they recommend.
The problem is that witchcraft is an extremely personal practice and often what we study does not coincide with our ideas. What to do about it?
We need to create our own philosophy and therefore also the ability to abstract specific concepts. An example: I know that many discredit S. Connolly as an author on Demonolatry, but I find him a perfect author for a first approach to the subject since he does not impose absolute truths and stimulates critical thinking, because that is what is needed. I am not saying that there must be no dogmas to follow, but are all those that are imposed on us really necessary?
To talk about things of the least importance, I have seen many traditional witches who impose the use of beeswax or soy candles and non-stick incense because everything else does not work: obviously their use for safeguarding is preferable. of the environment, but here we get to give power to the object instead of to those who use them. If a person does not have the opportunity at the moment to find certain materials is it really that important? It is not the candle that makes the ritual work and it is not the incense itself that purifies the room, otherwise we would all be very powerful witches just because we use certain objects. I accept their idea not to change the instruments (athame, chalices, wands, etc ...) at each ritual, because the more they are used, the more they are charged with energy: in fact, the witch charges them, they are not already charged in themselves .
Witchcraft evolves over time precisely because the world around us evolves, so staying closed-minded is useless. There is no need to devour books after books if you do not think and take everything as true: little truth, most of the books on witchcraft are full of bullshit.
We could also talk about pagan magick and the approach that the (neo)pagans have with the deities. In ancient Greece it was common practice in public rituals to make hecatombs, or to sacrifice a hundred oxen to the gods, and in private it was customary to sacrifice individual animals. Today no one would sacrifice a hundred oxen for this purpose (the single sacrifice is still made and I fully agree if its meat is consumed later), because there has been an evolution in thought. The Bacchantes (the followers of Dionysus) even went as far as murders and massacres in the ecstasy they felt and for this reason the cult was not well seen, so much so that it was even forbidden (if you don't believe us, there are countless historical sources that have reached us regard). In ancient Rome, the priestesses of Vesta who lost their virginity during the priesthood were sacrificed to the Goddess as a purification ritual for the impure act they had committed by offending the divinity; while now we do not look at all at the virginity of the priestesses. These are just a few examples that show that ancient rituals must be respected, but must be adapted to the modern context.
Let's move on to the Gods. The tablets of Greek curses show that those who resorted to this type of magic were not so respectful of the deities: they were threatened not to worship them anymore, not to make sacrifices if they did not intervene and even to eliminate their cult from the city. On the other hand, however, we have requests, prayers and you can see the fear and respect they had towards them. Oh, it was also common practice to compare oneself to the gods when reaching important milestones and in funerary epitaphs. Now, however, it seems that disrespectful turning to a God can cause your death. I was once talking to a girl about my relationship with my patrons Loki and Beelzebub: Loki and I often call each other idiots (joking) and make fun of Sleipnir; in Beelzebub I often say that I am less rigid, more open-minded and more in control of his anger. She was horrified and claimed that I would either die shortly / would have serious consequences or that I was talking to impostors, because my gods are not as she knows them. As in ancient times different cities and people worshiped different aspects of the same divinity, so each of us now learns about different parts of the same God: a softer or more "bad" and playful Loki, a more demonic or quieter Beelzebub etc ... We also establish a relationship with them, which means that we get to clash with them and ask them to change their behavior according to our preferences (and vice versa), but we also get to joke and establish a relationship of mutual affection. especially if you work together for a long time. They are not human, but they also have feelings and are able to become attached to them, even if in a different way from us maybe; however, the key remains dialogue. I can call Loki an idiot, but if someone talks bad about him, I become a hyena (I was banned from a discord server to "protect him"); Beelzebub may be irritated by my chaos and lack of order, but he does not abandon me for this and indeed, if he feels that I am in danger, he arrives immediately.
Obviously I would never dream of behaving like this with all the gods exactly as I would not behave like this with a person I just met. Relationships must be built, on both sides, so in my opinion all this fear of every single thing that is done for a deity should be eliminated or at least managed better. We have come to a point where we know that lightning does not fall for Zeus and boats do not sink because Poseidon did not like the offer (and yes. I am criticizing those who see divine signals in weather events. Look at the weather forecast first).
There is still a lot to say about it, but I will do it calmly. In conclusion: read, but reason and adapt what is written to you. And if you are a pagan witch, go and read directly from ancient sources: historians, writers, poets of the time and adapt what you read, do not blindly trust those who offer you rituals. And if they criticize you for what you do, remember that rites and prayers are the product of man and not of the gods, so you are free to modify or create something new. The only good thing about rituals done the same for generations is that they are charged with energy and this can help in the realization, but if you don't like something or it doesn't resonate with you, you shouldn't do it just to be accepted by others. You validate your practice, not others and certainly not authors of books who don't even know you.
Blessed be,
Prometheus.

Solitude.
Pairing: Loki x F!Reader
Genre: Fluff
Requested: by @hotsauceonabiscuit
AU where Loki owns a bookshop. Asgardians have found safety in norway I’d have a feeling he’d want to be somewhat distant because of everything. The solitude and occasional judgement of patrons would be enough or so he thought until the reader steps inside for the first time.
Warnings: None
Summary: A few years after the final battle, Loki is doing well in Norway having opened his own library on the outskirts of the new Asgard. He barely has any visitors and he is content with the life he is living. What happens when he meets Y/N, one of the maids working for Valkyrie?
Author’s Note: Hey peeps, I’m back! Thank you for the prompt, @hotsauceonabiscuit, I really enjoyed writing this. I hope you like it, sorry I’m posting it so late! Please read and enjoy, everyone :)
Y/H/C - Your Hair Colour
Y/E/C - Your Eye Colour
---
The bell above the door rang, alerting Loki that someone was in his library. Loki had been a librarian ever since Thor and Valkyrie established a new Asgard in Norway. Thor was off with the Avengers, while Valkyrie became their new ruler.
He was tired of the royal life, which is why he opened a library on the outskirts of the city. He had customers, yes, but a very low number of them. Most of them were repetitive. As he stood in the aisle, wondering who it could be, a soft voice rang throughout the place.
"Hello? Is anyone here? I'll come later if the place is closed." This was someone he had never heard before. Blinking, he walked over to the receptionist's desk to see a petite woman standing there, looking around the place in awe. She had Y/H/C hair and a very, very pretty face.
"Excuse me." She averted her eyes from the aisles and looked at him. "Oh, your majesty! I didn't know you owned this place," she chuckled nervously, looking at him with anxious eyes. "Who are you?" he found himself asking, feeling an emotion he hadn't felt in a long time.
"My name is Y/N Y/L/N, I work with Her Majesty at the castle. Um, do you have any fiction books? You know, mortal fiction," she stammered. A smile lifted his face. "Follow me." He heard her heaving a sigh of relief as she followed him.
"This is a very nice place," she commented, "You must have tons of people swarming the library! I mean, look— the neatly arranged aisles, all genre-sorted… if I could live here, I definitely would." He laughed softly at her words. "You're very welcome, my flat is upstairs," he winked, which made her blush. Even that was adorable.
"Here you are, mortal fiction," he declared as they stood alone in an aisle. "Thank you! Will it be okay if I stay here to read? I'm on a break and I really don't want to spend it at the castle." He frowned at her words. "You're very welcome to stay, miss. Why not at the castle, if I may ask?"
"The other servants there are very, very boring. They don't like books and I can't hold a conversation with any of them." He laughed once more at her honesty. "I used to face the same problem growing up. No one around me was as invested in books as I was." Both of them shook their heads.
"My father and mother used to both work with the All-Father. He was in the army and she was Her Majesty Frigga's maid. I come from a peasant family and therefore, have no access to the royal library. Still, my mother somehow managed to bring books home and that's where my love for them began."
He nodded attentively at her words, glad to have finally found someone who loved solitude and books as much as he did. "That's a brilliant story, darling. Well, I'll leave you alone now, have fun reading. I'll be at the receptionist's desk if you need anything."
"Thanks a bunch, Your Majesty," Y/N grinned at him, clutching the book to her bosom. "Loki will do, Lady Y/L/N," he smiled back. "Same, you can call me Y/N."
With that, Loki left her side and walked back to the receptionist's desk. Y/N found a cozy couch in between two aisles and sat down, getting into her favourite reading position— curled against one corner of the couch, legs pulled up to her chest.
There was silence in the small library afterwards. Y/N sat reading her book, which was the second installment of a book series she started with a month ago. She couldn't find the book anywhere, until one of her coworkers had spoken about there being a library on the outskirts of the city.
She had decided to try her luck here, actually being successful. Loki looked up from his work, distracted by Y/N's presence. Where had he heard the last name before? Y/L/N. His eyes suddenly widened with realization. That's right! Her father was the army and was good friends with Thor. That's where he knew the last name from!
He rubbed a hand over his face, trying to keep himself from groaning. Why was Y/N so captivating? A few hours passed before he heaved a huge sigh and got up, giving in to his mind's requests.
Ask her out for a coffee.
Looking around the place, he finally found her seated on his favourite couch, attentively reading the book. "Y/N?" Startled, she looked up. "Oh, Loki, sir. What brings you here?"
"Just came to check on you. Enjoying the book?" he asked, giving her a strained smile. Just ask her out, Loki, what could go wrong? "Very much! I read the first one a month ago, couldn't find the second one after that. Your library is awesome!" she gushed, grinning. He nodded with appreciation.
"How long does your break last?"
At that, her eyes went comically wide. "Oh no, my break time ended an hour ago!" she panicked, bolting upright. "Let me walk you back to the castle," he offered, surprising himself. "I would love that, thank you. Mind if I take the book back with me? I promise I'll return it tomorrow."
"Yes, you may keep the book, Y/N. Come." The two left the library. As they walked, Y/N resumed reading the book. Loki glanced at her, a small smile blooming on his face. She looked adorable as she disregarded the world around her, her attention grasped by the book.
How did he get attached to her so quickly?
A few meters ahead, Loki noticed a puddle in front of Y/N. He pulled her in by the waist, making her walk around the puddle. She glanced at him, then at the puddle next to her. "Thanks," she whispered, blushing furiously.
Y/N also liked Loki. Had liked him for nearly 15 years in mortal time. She was a teenager when her father had taken her to the castle to meet the King, the Queen and the Princes. Thor knew her father personally; they fought in wars together, he had a high rank.
As soon as she had taken a look at Loki, she was smitten. She knew it was wrong— a prince and a peasant girl? Pfft, as if. She was sure he didn't even remember her. "You're welcome. Maybe keep the book away?"
"Why would I, if you're here with me?" she mumbled distractedly, burying her face in her book once again. Loki, meanwhile, sported a huge smirk on his face at her words. She did have a point. His arm tightened around her waist and they continued their walk to the castle.
---
"Loki, what are you doing here?" Valkyrie blinked as he walked into the courtroom, looking around. "Nice place," he commented instead of answering her. Wow, he had been away from the castle for nearly 6 years, he realized. She simply raised her eyebrow at him. "Fine," he huffed, "I came to drop someone off."
"Who?" Valkyrie questioned, confused. "One your maids, Y/N. She was at my library during her break time, lost track of time," he answered, leaning against a pillar. Everyone else in the room only stared at him.
"Oh, Y/N, I know her. She loves reading, reminds me a lot of you," Valkyrie chuckled. "You're not mad at her? You know, she took an extra hour of break," he asked slowly. "Of course not. We have a lot of people working here, one person missing isn't going to stop anything," she shrugged.
"You're right about that. Well, I bid you adieu, I must go," he sighed, giving her a resigned smile, "It was good to see you again." She smiled back at him. "Likewise. Goodbye," she called out as he turned to leave.
Outside the castle, he saw Y/N. She was with a few of her coworkers, chatting. "Y/N!" It was now or never. All of them looked at him. "Loki," she greeted just as enthusiastically, waving. He didn't miss the way the others immediately started whispering amongst themselves.
"I need to ask you something," he said quietly, holding his hand out. She took it and he led her away from the group. He didn't let go even when they were in private. "What?" Y/N's blush returned. "Will you go on a date with me?" he whispered, staring intently into her beautiful Y/E/C eyes.
"Oh, Loki, sir, I will be honored," she gasped, covering her face with her hand. Had Loki just asked her out on a date? He wished to court her? "That's brilliant. Why don't we return to the library?" he smirked, bringing her hand to his lips. "But— my work—"
"One person missing isn't going to stop anything," he shrugged, repeating Valkyrie's words. "Her Majesty might fire me," Y/N expressed worriedly. "She won't, trust me. Shall we?" Well, he was close with her. "Let's go," she chuckled, leaning on her tiptoes to press a kiss to his cheek.
Her coworkers simply stared at her in shock as the two left without another word, hand in hand. Y/N giggled at their flabbergasted expressions, not believing the fact that she was actually going on a date with the man she had had a crush on for a long, long time.
She was glad she discovered the small library on the outskirts of Asgard.

MASTERLIST in bio, darlings. Tags are open (check bio)
The camera was coloured in darkness when it heard a troubled and tired whine. It took a second or two to come out of someone's backpack- quite possibly Javier's- to record you nearly lying over a rhino-like alien with a dinosaur-like tail. Your eyes looked sad and frustrated, your limbs tired- hanging on either side of the slow creature carrying on its own pace. A scarf was thrown over your head that ended up covering your face, making the camera shift towards the tall figure of Loki walking beside the new transportation service. His figure- with the usual black jeans and equally black shirt- was covered in a cloak that protected him from the harsh rays of the neighbouring star. "They're gone. Stop whining," he ordered without even looking at you. "The only  breathing insane person you need is me."
Lulu, who was sitting over your back now, was enjoying the languid bumpy ride through the desert that was filled with little crowds around the oasis -found around every two kilometres- while his camera recorded Javier sitting on his rhino facing you guys. You pulled the scarf away from your face and pouted, letting your face rest in your palms. "But they are all so cute." A blink later you turned your eyes towards Loki and smirked. "OoooOoooh!-" you deepened your voice- "'The only breathing insane person you need is me'-" and then squirmed out loud- "you naughty-naughty. You teasing me. You naughty-naughty!" Loki turned to face you, his steps so in sync that he was right next to your face the whole time his eyes kept yours captured. "What exactly is it that made my words tease you, darling?" All the playful giggle vanished as soon as it had come. You felt your body straighten at that smirk running wild over his lips while Javier's camera caught the change in the shade of your face.
You: *annoyed* You have to be really careful how you go about joking around with Loki 'cause that son of a bitch can turn anything into something sexual. *looks at the camera* *feels a shiver go down your body*
Loki: It is *stresses* so easy to make Y/N uncomfortable. All I have to do is make her think I am thinking something impermissible and then sit back to watch her fumble. *chuckles* It's one of my many talents. *feels a confidence boost*
"You are so annoying sometimes," you muttered under your breath while scratching an itch on the back of your neck. "Sometimes I forget you get a high out of making people miserable." "Oh, no. The high is solely out of annoying you," Loki pointed out innocently. Grabbing one end of the scarf, you flipped it in the air to smack Loki's back with it. "You do not deserve any of the lava cakes I make in the future!" "Thank the Norns. They kept giving me the worst pains." "You sonova-" Another flick of your scarf was easily caught by the God to pull you towards him. You nearly fell on his chest if not for your hands landing on those pecs first.
You: *mouth opened in an 'o'* *blinks slowly* I think I grabbed his boobies. *purses lips* *thinks for a long moment* *camera pans in* *raises brows* those are some really hard boobies.
"What." Even when you were sitting on the rhino- who came to a standstill on its own at the moment, clearly sensing some heat in the moment- Loki did not have to bend his beck even a smidge to stare right into your soul. "What," you spat back a bit hesitantly, trying your best to fume, taking your hands away from his body to hide them somewhere before they were executed for their crimes. "You are being quite bold these days," he commented while wrapping the scarf around his hand, never letting his gaze falter. "I was always bold-" you shrugged- "especially when it came to anything that had to do with you." Loki chuckled. And licked his lips. The camera caught the one strong inhale you took in. "What did you expect would happen in the long run? That I would go all soft and mushy on you like those fangirls you have on earth? Stand outside your home and shout-" "Loki?" The voice wasn't yours. You could never carry that kind of sultry weight in your throat even if you wanted to. It felt like it had come with the wind. Or maybe an echo? It wasn't until you looked at Javier's camera that you looked behind you and found a woman dressed in red standing within inches of you, giving you a mini heart attack, leading to one great fall. Loki could have broken your fall if he wanted to but from the look in his eyes, he was stuck on the woman he was seeing standing a few feet away from him. Lulu's camera caught this woman perfectly. From every angle, she looked human. Her pale skin was akin to a glass moulded in the shape of a Goddess. Her thin lips were coloured a shade of purple. Her eyes a shade of blue that was darker than usual. They were less of an ocean and more of a pool hidden in the caverns that were bottomless and unexplorable. A red cloak covered her head- except for a few strands of silver hair- and the rest of her body. It was not hard to miss for the cameras recording a couple of things that happened in a little span of time; like the slipping of your scarf from Loki's hands, the rhinos excusing themselves from the scene, the nervous fluffing up of Lulu at the sight of this stranger, the sudden chill in the air in the middle of the desert making the animals- and you- shiver. On top of that, the piercing rays of the nearest star seemed to get dull by the second till the camera realised there were clouds gathering above them out of bloody nowhere.
"Is that really you? Loki...son of Odin...and son of Laufey?" "It's Freya," you whispered, internally correcting this stranger who was visibly making you quite uncomfortable. "It has been a while." She completely ignored you if she heard that. Her smile seemed to stretch from one ear to another at the sight of the God- who was evidently the only thing she wanted to see. "Aellae." It was not the name itself that produced the moment but the way it came out to make you turn towards Loki.
You: *frown at the void* It was almost like he was recalling something he had...lost. Like that one book that you repeatedly read and then it just disappeared one day only for you to find out that you had yourself kept it in an ultimate secret place that you yourself forgot about. So, when you find it you feel guilty for facing it again. *breathless* *camera pans in* *looks at Javier* does this make sense? *blinks at Javier who is signing something* *frowns harder* What do you mean why it's gotten me all worked up? I mean *stutters and points in the distance*  *camera pans in Loki and Aellae standing in the distance looking at each other and not really talking much* W-who knows what's the history there. Like is she a friend or foe? Or a fr-o. *camera pans back on your face* *tsks* of course, this doesn't make sense. None of this does. *looks at the pair and crosses her arms* *fumes at no one in particular*
"I thought I-" "Lost me?" Aellae simply smiled. "You should know better than that. After all, it is me, my love." There was no hesitation in the movement of your eyes when you looked at Loki for an answer to that statement. If it wasn't for the brilliant observation of this talented boy named Javier, one would not have caught the slight movement of his eyes when he wanted to glance at you from his peripheral vision while taking in a lungful. "My love," you stressed that last word to make sure Loki understood the question scratching beneath the sarcasm. There was a slight roll of his eyes followed by him completely closing them for one elongated moment. "I have been waiting for this day," Aellae continued, making a part of you itch for completely ignoring your presence, "when I finally found you again." The tilt of her head and that hollow gaze that tried to be soft gave her an eerie touch. "And to think I was only living on your memories till now." Aellae took a step forward and stopped when she found the God taking the lead with this one. In this situation, the angle mattered a lot. Because from where Lulu stood- right on your shoulder- it looked as if this stranger had taken a step where could she step right where the distance between her and you two was the same.  From where Javier stood, his camera saw Loki step towards Aellae while completely blocking you from the boy's view. But what he did record was Loki bringing forward his hands for her. That hollowness in her eyes suddenly swirled into an ounce of mild ecstasy. when she put her hands in his and felt his thumbs rest on top of the back of her palms. "It has been one long while," he concluded, forcing Javier to walk- with quite the struggle- in the sand to pan in on this confusion fused with this piercing hint of disappointment on your face.
"I'm sorry," you sputtered, "come again?" "Title of your sex tape," he muttered under his breath. "Hm?" Aellae turned in question. "Nothing, my dearest," the God assured her before turning to answer your question. "I said you are on your own now. Look for a cavern at one of the oasis and they will drop you at a shelter. Hopefully." Your head did feel the just of surprise even though the last twenty seconds of their hand-holding had you all ready for a surprise. Words were being a stubborn bitch in your lungs- never escaping your mouth right this moment and all your could do was exhale and mock a burst of laughter at those words. "And then? And then what?" Your heated brain really could not think of anything else. Loki shrugged.
You: *shouting* THAT SON OF A BITCH SHRUGGED!!! *pointing at yourself* AT ME!!!
"I don't know. Look for a rainbow." Without another word, he turned back towards the woman. Just like that. The only sound was that of the wind running through the desert as you, Javier and Lulu watched Loki walk away with this strange creature. It took a minute for the little one figure out, for when he did, he pressed his stomach and stood up on your shoulder, his heart beating faster than it usually did. And when the realisation dawned on him, Lulu jumped to the ground to take a few steps in Loki's direction and yell for him to come back.
'Member the way You used to say I was your meaning? You'd always need me
You just stood there, dried lips parted, eyes shrinking under the gaze of the star, arms dangling with nearly no life in them. For a second there, Javier felt you were about to fall, for Lulu's camera caught the boy come to your side, ready for anything that was bound to happen.
Did you forget What that shit meant? You were my answer You were what mattered
But all you did was stand there with disappearing emotions just like those two disappeared with the last sand dune in front of you. With the last silhouette of Loki gone in sand, you closed your eyes, worrying your companions for that stretched moment.
Lived at your place Know the way that I taste Yeah, you know things Yeah, you know things
"He knows," you whispered to yourself, your brows furrowing together, your fingers curling into fists.
I met your mom Even got us a dog That ain't nothing, oh
A piercing scream came out of your lungs making the little floof jump five feet into the air to land away from you while Javier's camera recorded his three-second jolts before falling straight down from his hands.
Say you know me Say you know me Say you know me, know Say you know me Say you know me Say you know me
"HE FUCKING KNOWS!!!!" Your voice was at the edge of a massive breakdown, shaking while your eyes blurred themselves in this uncontrollable rage.
You always will
"That son of a bitch knows how bad it is for me alone in a strange land," you croaked, trying to kick some sand with your boots. Javier signed something from outside the frame to you. "Hey, you're not alone. I'm here too," Lulu's camera caught his words. You looked at him for five seconds. "You lost your socks while sleeping on your first day. You were wearing those bloody socks." Javier- clearly offended but also guilty- mocked a gasp as he took a few steps away from you. The soft strings of guitar added to the air around you looking in the distance where nothing could be seen now. No one. Sand for infinity and a few oases that did not lead to him.
.
Feet were dragged through the stubborn sand that let won't you walk straight. All the effort that was going into being angry was now running down towards your legs. But that did not stop you from fuming so hard that the camera could catch the difference in your features.
See, I know What it is, what it is, what it is, babe
But as the camera panned over your face, it seemed more of a sullen sulk and less of that rage you had just shown.
See, I know What it is, what it is
And were those tears in your eyes that you were trying to blink away? That you were trying to hide from Javier as much as possible?
Let me miss What it is, what it is, what it isn't Let me miss it Let me miss it
Giving up, you walked towards the first oasis in your way, populated generously by desert animals and a few nomads.  The tents seemed somewhat similar to those you found on earth except for the spherical air pockets surrounding them to keep them cool. One of the nomads was kind enough to open the doorway for you and bow down in their own way, making the rainbow stone in his necklace reflect the starlight right into your eyes as you entered the place. "Did some order a seven-spice rainbow with a generous dash of sexy on the side?" The light that has just left your eyes came back with a sweet gasp. "My White Knight!" you nearly choked on your own joy. .
The camera felt itself shake when the rainbow drink was kept on the table. Thanking White, you dragged the sparkly fizzy thing towards you to get a taste. "So-" White furrowed his brows licked his lips in a thought- "you're saying Loki did leave you but he did not leave you." You just nodded, your lips not ready to leave the straw. "Easy," White ordered with a serious face, receiving a pinch from Green and Orange sitting next to him without looking away from you. Both of them seemed to be caught in a sweet trance that was clearly you. And when you finally did leave the straw, the elated sigh of a content throat made both of them close their eyes and smile. "Oh, God! This is so goooood," you exclaimed as no voice came out of you. "Y/N," your White Knight called out to you, "focus." You set the drink down and straighten yourself. "Yes, sir," you whispered. "Not that much of focus," he muttered while clearing his throat, adjusting himself where he sat. Violet rolled his eyes and sighed. "What do you mean when you say he did not leave you?" You looked at Violet and put your hands on the table. "I mean that I don't think he went with that woman....goddess...witch...whatever...on his own. I think he was kinda kidnapped." All the boys- except Orange- shared a look with each other. Orange was just too engrossed in you at this point. "Are you sure he just didn't go on his own?" Green stressed. "He would be one dumb bitch to leave me alone like that," you nearly shouted before going for that unicorn juice again. "There must've been a reason." Orange nodded vigorously in agreement. "Very dumb bitch," he tsked. "Because he knows I will kill him if he did-" you sipped the cold fizz- "and if I didn't, our family definitely will." The camera panned in the emotion of slight disbelief White felt as his eyes remained hollow while that smile was still stuck on his face. It took him a few seconds to bring himself to mutter, "our...family," and scratch an itch on his neck. "So," you burped and excused yourself, "before anyone from my home flies here just to kill him, I am going to rescue him." "Whaaa-at?" Sky mutters from behind the bar counter. "Help you go after some strange and powerful witch that we have absolutely no idea about?" Javier's camera- which Javier had in his hand as he stood right behind Sky- recorded the endless stash of weapons and potions kept behind the bar right there within Sky's reach. The camera especially zoomed in on the one bundle of spears marked 'Witch skewers: Do not wash, Do not touch. Poisonous'. "And that too on such a short notice?" Sky faked a laugh.
Sky: *tired* Of course we know Loki's been kidnapped. White: *casually* Of course, we'll help Y/N. Violet: *stone face* I'm down to hunt some bad girls any day. White: *sighs* I really wish we could leave him with his kidnapper though. *pause* *everyone mumbles in agreement* *silence resumes around the table* Orange: *thinking while looking at the void* but that would make Y/N sad. *nods and pouts around the table* Red: Once we rescue him, let's kidnap Y/N. *hums of agreement around the table*
"Okay-" you place the empty glass on the table and get up to look around the table before looking into Javier's camera, "let's go save a God today."
