🌿how does creating make you feel?
Alive. Powerful (in some ways). Really good about myself because I'm utilizing my imagination and creativity and all of those things I learned and worked toward in my writing classes/degree. I feel really good about myself when I'm writing - like I'm fulfilling part of what I'm in this particular life for, which is storytelling.
💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language
The characters are definitely the most important thing, I think. I like to get their voices right - their voice, mannerisms, their expressions, the specific tone and lilt of their voices. Everything else - the plot, the worldbuilding, the settings - those are secondary to the characters. The plot (or scenario, if it's not something huge that requires a full-out PLOT) drives the characters, but I mean, the plot can change from story to story, so it's really still mostly about the character. I'd be lying if I said the technical stuff wasn't a top important thing - I'm an English/writing major, and all those grammar and spelling and punctuation things are hella important to me. Those keep me honest and make me slow down and pay attention to how I'm writing. Figurative language fits in with that, too, though, because it's all the stuff I absorbed in trying to become a better writer, either by reading or by what my awesome professors passed along to me.

Still humping the American Dream
Tony closed his eyes, pinched the bridge of his nose between the thumb and index finger of his left hand. He took five deep breaths. Counted to twenty. Took five more. Counted to ten. He opened his eyes, the right one pale amber and couldn’t see nearly as well after his snap that ended the war with Thanos.
Justin still stood in front of him, hands defiantly on his hips, watching him.
“Anthony, I’m not here to just take up space and piss people off,” Justin said in that affable tone that still managed to dig underneath Tony’s skin and threaten to give him hives.
“And yet you do that so well, Justin,” Tony snarked as he felt the threat behind his eyes indicating a headache was imminent. He winced at the harshness of his tone, even with this pain in the ass he never expected to see again, much less share a living space with him.
Still, they’d made peace with Loki when he returned with Thor and Bruce to help them handle Thanos, and as it turned out, the guy wasn’t so bad in the long run. Tony liked his sass and sense of humor – always had – and he was pretty handy to have around.
Perhaps he could make himself get used to Justin Hammer, too. The guy wasn’t dumb, and since they’d released him early for good behavior and some other reason Tony had already forgotten for the moment, he’d dropped some of that pretentious peacocking that paralleled Tony’s own, which to be fair, he’d been happy to mostly give it up since it got tiresome after a while.
“Who? C’mon, Tony, I’m a big boy. I can take it. You can tell me who else I’m pissing off besides you,” Justin cajoled, his big grin stretching across the angles of his face. He’d been trying, but Justin wasn’t stupid; he knew he’d fucked up by trusting the wrong guy. Didn’t help that he kept trying to compete with a guy known for his genius and his ability to stare any problem in the face, punch it once with his intellect and creations, and boom, no more problem.
“Pepper for starters,” Tony blurted out, “though she doesn’t live here, and she’s kind of gotten over the idea of you being around Morgan since the kid actually likes you and trusts you.”
The expression on Justin’s face burst with a sappy fondness he used to reserve for his nephew alone, and he schooled it quickly when Tony had to dial back that initial Papa Bear concern that his kid was around several former villains these days. Respectfully, he tried to look serious, to take Tony’s comments seriously.
“To be fair, your kid’s awesome and one day’s gonna run circles around us to make the world a better place,” his words came out clear and heartfelt, and Justin thought he noticed that Papa Bear pride seeping into Tony’s features.
Note to self, praise that adorable little big-eyed bunny, and that’ll keep Stark from wanting to shoot your nuts off.
“Yeah well. That’s the truth of it. Oh and Nat’s still keeping an eye on you. Everyone else...you’re a somewhat clean slate with. Not like you’re the only former bad guy in residence,” Tony remarked and went back to what he’d been working on when Justin wandered into the kitchen, namely working on agility and firm (but not too firm) grip with his new arm by making and rolling out pie dough.
“You want some help?” Justin asked when it seemed like Tony was having trouble with one of the cookie cutters he was using to cut out star shapes (to go with the crescent moons). He held up both hands when Tony just tossed a glare his way. “No problem. Just...offerin’. As for Natasha, eh. Sam mentioned it took her a little bit to warm up to Loki, too, so I’ll just...be patient.”
Justin was in no rush to be liked, and he really didn’t expect to be. It wasn’t even that he was being a martyr or self-deprecating or living on his low self-esteem. The prison counselor got him to see where he’d fucked up way before he’d actually chained his personality to impressing the military and broke Anton Venko out of custody.
Piece of shit and his dumb fucking bird.

This is prob a longer answer than you expected but here it is. I am much more of an album listener than a playlist listener. I like to put on an album or artist and just get immersed in their work one at a time. Especially bc I feel like streaming has sort of taken away from the experience of albums as cohesive works. Here’s the Julien Baker album that has been stuck in my brain on repeat recently. Love a sad, existential record.
Playlists are also great though and I will def put on a playlist to run to or have in the background, etc. And I admire people who can curate great playlists!
And here’s where I’ll admit to my deep and abiding love of Taylor Swift and her songwriting. My longest fandom experience is with her work. So. Here’s a playlist called Taylor Swift bridges that are god-tier bc that woman can write a fucking bridge like no one else.

lol. 10. And thanks for indulging me by adding this question and letting me talk about it. I am a copy editor as a career and also as a hobby. I have loved words and language as long as I can remember, and I think I find more joy in helping other people wrangle and finesse their writing until it says just exactly what they want it to say than in writing my own work. I’ve told you this, but the fact that editing is a solitary activity that is also inherently very collaborative is perfect for my personality. There is also something that is just so satisfying to me about a perfectly punctuated sentence with smooth syntax and prosody that also communicates meaning effectively. A well-used semi-colon is sexy. And I love standing in as an advocate for the reader to make sure their experience is as close to what the author intends as possible. I could go on.

God. This is the longest fic I’ve ever read by a wide margin, but it has become so special to me I have to shout it out:
Here’s what I wrote in my AO3 bookmark for it: Author takes us from intimate, provincial romance to epic, sweeping action/tragedy so deftly I can’t even believe it. I’ve never been so invested in an original side character or cried harder reading a fic. This one is special.
It’s a story about the two of them falling in love slowly and messily with lots of false starts and obstacles that deals with identity and grief and longing and self-loathing and forgiveness and has a Mobius backstory where he contends with queer prejudice in 1990s America and it also includes hot smut and I just cannot recommend it enough. (It’s technically not finished but very close to and there are over 200k words published.)

Idk if this is a head canon so much as just the way I personally read the text of the show but: Mobius has religious trauma and his experience with the TVA is akin to fundamentalist Christian indoctrination. Loki is the spark that helps him begin to deconstruct and heal and wake up to himself and what he actually wants.
Also: Loki LOVES having his hair played with and Mobius loves to have his hands in Loki’s hair.
🦴 ⇢ is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?
Mmm, idk about one piece of media but, as a medium, song lyrics and poetry. Anything I’ve started writing lately has usually been sparked by a lyric. I feel like lyrics are able to evoke much more complex stories in so few words, which I think is magical.

“Um,” Mobius starts, suddenly struggling to find words (appropriate ones, anyway). “Right, so, should we get started?” He rises up off his heels and reaches for the detachable shower head.
“I like it hot,” Loki says.
“What?!” Mobius balks and nearly drops the shower head into the bath.
“The water. I like it hot. Don’t be afraid to turn it up.”
“Oh, sure. Can do.” Get it together, Mobius.
🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
Immediately? Hmm, well, I will say when a fic has something in the summary like “Where Loki doesn’t turn into a dumb tree and they can actually be together,” I will not click to begin with. I’m happy to read certain kinds of fix-its or universes where the ending is different or not relevant, but if an author is actively throwing shade at the canon ending, I just assume we have such different readings of the show that what we want from a fic probably doesn’t align very well.

🕯️ ⇢ on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?
TEN. It's the best part of writing, hands down, bar none. I love nothing more than cracking open one of my documents that someone has edited to hell and slowly working my writing to borderline perfection. The editing process is the cold water bottle at the end of the finish line that I'm downing like a man in the desert.
🥤 ⇢ recommend an author or fanfic you love
@doomed-spectacles is definitely one of my favorites right now. I really love the tragedy of the ending and they do too and all of their works are just painful examinations of the "after" without fixing it which is something I'm always looking for.
I really love their series Happiness is a hamburger; home is not a place. which is post-series work where Mobius and Sylvie (and momentarily flashes of Loki from beyond time itself) meet up and smoke weed in various parking lots talking about their new mundane lives and the underlying grief. I love the way they write, and they just have such a clear, intelligent voice that shines through all of their work.
It's been making the rounds but their newest fic Only to Haunt You is an actual masterpiece. I don't really read works that explore Mobius entering Loki's realm because it takes away the tragedy for me, but this absolutely preserves the tragedy to such a degree that it'll leave you feeling a little hollowed out by the end.
🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
If I see multi-paragraphs then I'm swooning. I love when someone takes the time to crack the marrow of my piece and show me that all the behind the scenes work I did shines through in the finished product. I love when people highlight quotes that stood out to them too and also play-by-play reactions. I just like knowing how people ingested my work and also, if I was successfully able to communicate my themes and motifs enough for people to understand what I'm actually writing about. (all to say, the type of comments you leave)
I also am a humor writer first and foremost, so any comment that audibly makes me laugh.
🦴 ⇢ is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?
I think I've mentioned it before, but The Hollow Kingdom by Clare B. Dunkle is one of my favorite romances of all time, in part because of how successfully it sells the antagonism turned budding respect turned begrudging and eventually true, abiding love. It's a book I've read close to 20+ times, in part because it's a childhood favorite and in part because watching the two protagonists stalk around each other until they realize it's love (a little too late) is something I never get bored with. I try to emulate it, a little, in the works I do. I think being able to hold someone's attention enough for them to go back for more is one of the most powerful tools a writer can utilize, and something I'm always looking to hold over my own audiences.

how did you get into writing fanfiction?
I never really put much thought into it; it just sorta happened 😅
I’ve always been an avid daydreamer, and it seemed like the moment I learned how to spell and read, I started writing. It was a way to make the mental images in my mind a reality of sorts, and make them physical and real—things I could actually look at and see.
So it was the same way with fanfiction, more or less! I wanted to make the things I saw in my mind a thing I could see on a page, so I started writing :) And that’s still how it works to this day!
on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?
Hmm… I feel like I used to like editing a lot more than I do now. I’d probably give it… a 4? A 5, maybe?
Spell checking and grammar checking are easy for me, and it’s kinda fun to go through and fix little things like that :) It’s the more thought-provoking things such as reworking sentence structure, cleaning up paragraphs, and making sure the text flows together that’s much harder to figure out. I guess I don’t feel like I’m all that great of a judge when it comes to my own work; I either see a story as bad and something that can’t be fixed, or as something ground-breaking with no corrections needed. And I feel like both of those are Not Good, and don’t help me edit at all.
I’d definitely enjoy editing a lot more if I felt like I had a good grasp on what I could actually do to improve a story 😅

I don’t feel like writing 😅
I’m very much a feeler, and if I don’t feel like doing something, I’m probably not gonna do it—at least not willingly. And the same goes for writing! I absolutely love doing it, but I gotta wait until I’m in the right headspace for it, y’know? And I’m just not always in that wonderful headspace.

Honestly, the only ship I really have are Loki x Sylvie! I’ve fallen hard and fast for those two :)
A headcanon, hmm… oh! Sylvie would absolutely love horror movies, and always wanna go see the new ones in theaters. Loki, on the other hand, is very much afraid and disturbed by horror (though he’ll never ever admit it, even when it becomes painfully obvious to Everyone).
She makes fun of him relentlessly, while he stubbornly denies being scared at all. She finds it equally annoying and endearing XD

Techno shakes his head, trying very hard to focus on the potion he’s brewing.
Aka, Techno’s patience is tested severely and continuously when Ghostbur decides to visit XD
Their relationship is very sweet, because Ghostbur loves Techno and always wants to help him out, and Techno clearly cares about Ghostbur and wants to protect him, but at the same time… Ghostbur is definitely one to test patience XD And exploring that dynamic is super fun!
what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
Hmm… I’ve definitely been sort of… morbidly interested in drowning. I’ve researched a ton on that.
Random, but morbid is a very fun word to say XD
what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
Definitely the ones talking about the characters being in-character :D It’s pretty much my biggest fear that I’ll mischaracterize people, so hearing people say that the opposite is true is just… really great :D :D
And also the comments talking about how the story affected them!! Like, there’s been several people who have CRIED because of my fics?? Which is just insane to me. Every time I get a comment saying that I do this but with more hearts:
The fact that my writing can touch people so deeply is incredible :’D

Dream SMP 😅 I’ve been pretty much exclusively writing fanfic for this fandom since June of last year—and the story ideas just keep coming lol

Here’s my dog, Ginger:
That last picture is one of my favorites of her :’)
Ginger is absolutely the sweetest dog I’ve ever known; she’s a very sleepy girl who gets so very excited whenever we return home after being out for errands and such. She’ll do anything for food (especially broccoli and butter) and has yet to catch a squirrel (though she’s never stopped trying).
She’s definitely an introverted dog, and gets overwhelmed pretty easily in loud/crowded environments. She also wasn’t socialized much as a puppy, so she struggles to interact with other dogs 😭
She’s deathly afraid of hula-hoops and freaking hates baths/swimming lol
She’s the best dog ever <3 She just turned eight, and I can’t imagine what life will be like without her. She’s very special :’)
Then there is Miles (who’s currently in the bed with me as I type)
All these pictures are from completely different days XD He sleeps a lot.
I’ve got a bit of a love-hate relationship with this boy. He’s an extremely mean cat—in fact, just a couple days ago he attacked Ginger for no reason and scratched her nose! He has it out for her (for some unknown reason. She’d never hurt a fly so I don’t know what he’s on about).
He’s also very fussy, and if he’s not fed at a specific time every day, he’ll get mad and start crying/biting/scratching XD He’s super high maintenance.
He’s… very. very lazy. He is not a skinny boy.
I don’t like him too much most of the time, but sometimes—like in the pictures shown above—he gets softer, and will come up to my bed and curl up and purr and make biscuits with his paws. He’s very very cute when he does that.
what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
NSFW/sexual content, for sure. I’ve never read a smut fic and never will 😅 I’ve got no interest in that sort of thing.
As far as smaller things go, it’d be…
1) poor formatting, with big blocks of text instead of line breaks
2) mischaracteriztion. This is a big thing for me when it comes to fanfic; if you’re gonna make the characters so blatantly unrecognizable, just come up with your own characters!!
3) badddd dialogue. This is a big pet peeve of mine XD I am a lover of realistic/natural dialogue mmhmm mmhmm
