I am so so so so so so so tired of those “bATbOyS” and “mALe RoBinS” mfs using those stupid terms as an excuse to never have to talk about any of the women of the batfamily and yet still managing to erase Duke Thomas💀
You had one job, if you wanna not talk about Cassandra, Stephanie, Barbara, Kate or any of those amazing characters, sure, then don’t, you just had to remember that ONE guy, but batfamily fans are incapable of acknowledging that anyone who isn’t a white male with blue eyes exists

Dick Grayson, Age 8: This house is so empty, and there's no kids to play with... I wish I had a brother. Maybe even lots!
Dick Grayson, 20 years later: *trying to break up a fight between Tim and Damian, while Jason laughs about it instead of helping and Duke films it.* G_d, I was wrong. I was so, so wrong.

Batgirls #15 by Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad and Neil Googe. Variant cover by Dan Mora. Out in February 2023.
“There’s nothing like some father-daughter bonding! Unless you’re Stephanie Brown, and you thought your father was dead… until he kidnapped you! At least your BFF Cassandra Cain’s determined to find you. It’s a deadly adventure for Cass, but nothing can stop her from risking it all to save Steph — unless it’s death itself…”

There's definitely some stuff to say about Nightwing: Knight Terrors in regards to how it treats the Batgirls as an afterthought and it feels like there's some sort of missing Batgirls tie-in to Knight Terrors...
But I will say this, I think Cloonrad writes a pretty damn good Dick Grayson.
Look, maybe it's because we've been stuck with Tom Taylor's writing for God knows how long, but it felt very refreshing.
Dick was cocky again, he had more of a personality here than he has had in his entire run.
Plus Scarecrow even tries to make a Nightwing butt joke and Dick is very clearly uncomfortable with it and tells him to shut the fuck up, lol.
Like damn, with a writer on Nightwing currently who has tried to defend that unfunny joke before, it's just nice to see it shot down.
So yeah, am I upset about the Batgirls getting a bit shafted here? Sure, but I do think that this is probably the best Nightwing content we're getting for a while.

Behold, a snippet I started when Gotham War ended with that god awful line of Bruce telling Dick he and Barbara were the "parents" now.
"Parents? Parents!?" Barbara's laugh bordering on hysterical. She ran her hand through her hair doing nothing for the mess it currently was. "God forbid he even attempt to be a constant fixture in Damian's life, nope, just decided to hoist the whole thing off on us instead." Dick winced, the ache between his brows worsening. "And, what does he really expect us to do with the rest of the adults?"
Barbara pulled off her glasses and massaged the bridge of her nose. Dick wondered if the same ache was building between her eyes that settled between his. It's been there for days now. Dick shifted his feet as Barbara took a deep breath before looking back to him. She looked as tired as Dick felt.
"Seriously, what does he think we can do? Damian is the only child here. Duke is barely an adult but he's still an adult." Barbara leaned back in her chair and dropped the tension from her shoulders. "While you have served somewhat of a parental role for Damian, no one in this family is going to appreciate either of us trying to be the "parents"." Barbara throwing up air quotes and rolling her eyes.
"We're not exactly a conventional family" Dick snorts "never have been." He walked from the desk he stood by and plopped on the couch next to Hayley. "Even from the beginning Bruce had been as much of an older brother as he's been a dad." He leaned his head back to stare at the ceiling. "Maybe even more so than a dad at the start."
"There is also that mountain of parental issues I'm not going to touch let alone try to add to." Barbara added. Hayley twitched in surprise at Dick's sudden laugh. "Besides, us playing at mommy and daddy is the last thing Jason needs right now." The sobered Dick up as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
"There's just" Barbara sighed, ruffling her hair further "there's no real logic to it. It feels so empty of Bruce's meticulous planning. No thoughts on how this would really affect him beyond freezing him from dangerous actions." She laughed humorlessly, tossing her glasses onto the desk. "Which, evidently, was ultimately ineffectual anyways."
"There was no thought in what normal actually means. No notes on the dangers every day people face. No failsafe for if he gets in a car accident or if there is a fire. No way for him to be able to defend himself if someone tries to hurt him." Barbara firmly pressed his thumb between her brows. "I honestly can't tell is this is Zur's doing or if Bruce just couldn't focus on anything past stopping Jason from sliding back into deadly force."
