Pink Screen (Yoonjin AU fanfic)
"One ticket for whatever he's watching."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inspired by this twitter post and the fact that yoonjin are the og barbenheimer with their pink and black fits<3 I originally posted this as a twitter thread but decided to upload it here too, even if it's late for the trend lol. I hope you'll enjoy!
"One ticket for whatever he's watching."
The cashier smiles knowingly at the man. His black leather jacket and menacing glare are a little out of place at the movie theater, but she's never been one to judge.
"Cute, isn't he?," she nods towards the other guy who's already entering the screening room. The lighting catches on his soft blonde hair and pretty features, his oversized pink hoodie swallowing his wide frame cozily.
He seems like everything this newcomer isn't.
It's a harsh contrast but they do say opposites attract, so.
"Here you go, one ticket to the Barbie movie. Enjoy!," her grin widens as the man takes it from her and she winks for good measure. "And good luck!"
Yoongi stares at her, gaze piercing, until she starts to fidget uncomfortably in her seat. Then, he leaves without a word, following the pink man into the screening room.
It's dark inside, the commercials already playing on the huge screen. They paint the pink man's face in colorful hues and reflect in his eyes.
There are some other people, but their attention is either on their popcorn or the ads so Yoongi approaches the man without notice.
He's sitting in the otherwise empty last row. Yoongi sits down right beside him without a second thought.
There's an amused huff and Yoongi doesn't have to look away from the screen to know that the man is smiling.
"Hello, Officer," he hears the melodious voice, smugness evident in the tone. "You must miss me a lot, with how you're always in my tail."
"I have to keep an eye on you," Yoongi replies, cold and stern. He chances a glance at the other man, but he's looking at the screen, not at Yoongi.
His side profile is illuminated by the low lights. Yoongi's eyes stay on it for longer than intended, following the slope of the nose, the long eyelashes, the full lips.
"Take a photo, Min, that'll last longer."
Yoongi eyes snap up to meet those of the other man, dark gaze with a glint of mischief. The full lips curl into an ominous grin.
Yoongi starts talking before the man can spout any more nonsense. He keeps his face carefully emotionless as he says:
"I know you robbed that bank, Kim Seokjin."
The man pauses. His smile dims.
The next time he talks his voice is serious.
"You don't have proof."
Yoongi raises an eyebrow.
"I have witnesses."
They stare at each other. The movie is starting but neither of them cares.
Seokjin is the first to back down, exhaling and shaking his head as he leans back in his seat.
"So, you're here to arrest me?," he clicks his tongue. "A shame."
He stares up at Yoongi from under his lashes.
"As much as it would be an honor, Officer Min," Yoongi rolls his eyes on reflex, making Seokjin smile before he sighs, glancing at the screen. "I really wanted to see this movie."
Yoongi watches him carefully, without a word.
Then he turns back to the screen where Barbie is flying out of her pink dream house into her pink dream car.
He can feel Seokjin's eyes on him.
"What are you doing?," Seokjin asks. Yoongi shrugs.
"What does it look like?"
When he talks again, the grin is evident in Seokjin's voice.
"It looks like you're indulging the city's most wanted criminal in a movie date, Min Yoongi."
It's Yoongi's turn to huff a quiet laugh.
"Well, maybe I am," he mutters, glancing at Seokjin.
The man looks away quickly but not even the dark room can hide his pink ears. They match the color of his hoodie.
Yeah, Yoongi thinks, arresting can wait.
And so he gets comfortable, shrugging off his leather jacket and leaning back in his seat, knee knocking against Seokjin's lightly. He loosens his tie, too, then lets his arm hang over the armrest, palm turned suspiciously upwards.
It only takes a few seconds for Seokjin's hand to slide into his, fingers tangling and fitting together perfectly. They feel soft. Yoongi squeezes them barely noticeably and Seokjin squeezes back.
They stay like that for the rest of the movie and after that as well.
The cashier sends them a wide grin and a thumbs up when they leave the theater, still hand-in-hand. This must be how Cupid feels after a job well done, she thinks proudly.
And if Yoongi, how to say this, forgets to take Seokjin to the police station in the end, it's all on Barbie.
Criminal!Seokjin and Cop!Yoongi except they're too fond of each other to do their job properly<3 Don't be afraid to leave notes and comments, or share this fic with others, if you'd like <3 It really means a lot to me! Find me on AO3 and Twitter (I write there too) and you can ask or tell me anything here - please be kind with that tho^^

Just Another Game, Remastered
Set in 2019, after their world tour and after Answer’s release.
Min Yoongi’s career has put him in bisexual hell: living with six hot bandmates who think it’s amusing to flirt and get handsy with him and with each other all the time. Between constant struggles like not knowing whether he and Jimin nearly made out while drunk, to bed-sharing with Jungkook every other night, to not being sure how to stop imagining what it’d be like to kiss Namjoon, it’s only a matter of time before he loses his mind as he realizes he’s in love with six perfect but very straight boys.
After Yoongi drunkenly comes out as bi, he can’t remember the confession the next day. Taken by surprise, the boys lightheartedly start a competition to see who Yoongi finds the most attractive in the group. The objective is set to getting a kiss from Yoongi before he finds out about the competition. Though they mean well, things go downhill fast for all of them. As they each realize they are attracted to Yoongi, they start taking things too far beyond what they’d signed up for.

                      ᯼᯼᯼
Seokjin has been a taxi driver for almost ten years, and he can confidently say he he's got some interesting stories to tell but non like this one.
It was a chilly night by the end of summer, and he was called to pick up someone at a bar he used to frequent some nights with his friends when he wasn't working.
On the sidewalk outside bar, there was a man, sitting with his head leaned on his knees; his bright orange hair making it impossible to make up his face.
It wasn't the first time Seokjin saw something like that, he thought it was just an unfortunate drunken fella who had a raging headache and an upset stomach.
He honked once, twice, three times before getting out of his car with a heavy sigh, "Hey, buddy," he said to the man, "Did you order a taxi?"
At getting no answer he squatted down and pushed the drunk man's head back, finding a pretty face with fine features barely distinguishable in the darkness of the night.
"Hey, pumpkin head," Seokjin repeated, louder this time, "Are you the one who called for a taxi?"
The man blinked slowly at him, "A taxi, yeah," he slurred the words, making Seokjin chuckle as he shook his head.
"Ok," he breathed out, "Let's go," Seokjin takes the arm of the man and pulls it around his shoulders to weight the man as they stand up together and stumble towards the back door of the taxi.
Once the man was inside the car and Seokjin was back behind the wheel, it took him around twenty minutes to get an address from between the jumble of nonsense words the man kept mumbling in his drunkenness.
The way to the apartment building was long and tedious since Seokjin liked to be specially careful when driving so late at night and because the man's apartment was on the other side of the city, but if he had to be honest, he was having fun listening to the ramblings of his passenger.
In the two hour ride, he learned a few things about the guy:
His name was Yoongi.
He had decided to get drunk because he found his boyfriend cheating on him with a girl in the sofa they had bought the day before for their new apartment.
He was alone at the bar because some Namjoon guy had ditched him to hook up with someone who's name Seokjin didn't catch.
Upon arriving to the address Yoongi had reluctantly gave him, Seokjin stopped the car and watched Yoongi jump out of the car surprisingly fast.
"Hey, you haven't paid me!" Seokjin got out of the car too and followed Yoongi towards the front door of the building, "Hey!" he touched Yoongi's shoulder to make him turn around but instead of doing just that, Yoongi doubled over and emptied his stomach all over his shoes and started crying, falling back into Seokjin's arms.
"No, no, no," Seokjin was startled enough to call the attention of the guard inside the building, who came out to see what was happening immediately, his face contorting into an unamused expression at the view Yoongi and Seokjin made.
"Hi," Seokjin smiled, holding Yoongi against his chest to keep him up right, "I'm sorry, do you know what's his apartment number? I'm a taxi driver but he's clearly not awake enough to go up on his own."
The guard stared at Seokjin first like assessing if he was not just as drunk as Yoongi, and then he stared at Yoongi with a deep frown, "He doesn't live here, sir, I've never seen him before," the man said, "I'm sorry," he apologized kindly and went back into the building, closing and locking the door in his way.
Seokjin didn't know what else to do than get Yoongi back in the car and drive away to park somewhere safe.
He scratched his mind, staring at the dark street anxiously, thinking if it'd be a good idea to search for Yoongi's phone to call someone and ask where he could drop him off.
He turn on the little lights inside the car and tapped his fingers on the wheel.
"Pumpkin head," Seokjin spoke softly, just then realising Yoongi's hair was brighter than he thought in contrast with his light skin, "Wake up," he said louder but the man gave no sign of responding, his breathing was even and slow. Seokjin decided against searching him up and with a sigh, he turned off the lights of the car and went to sleep too, unable to think of something better to do at the moment.
In the morning, Seokjin woke up with a sore neck and the bright sunlight hitting him directly on the face.
He grunted until he became aware of where he was and turned on his seat to look at Yoongi, still sleeping peacefully on the backseat, his face more visible under the morning light. He was beautiful, Seokjin thought briefly before getting out of the car and going into the back seat.
"Wake up, buddy, come on," he said, arranging his body in a way that let him lean over Yoongi and tap him on the cheek a couple of times.
The man was startled awake and pulled a god honest hand knife from somewhere inside his jacket, so fast that Seokjin had barely any time to jump back, "Who are you?" Yoongi asked breathlessly with his eyes wide open as he stared at Seokjin, who now felt equally startled.
"I'm a taxi driver," Seokjin mumbled, raising his hands in the air, "You called me last night and you gave me the wrong address," he explained in a rush, "I didn't know where else to take you, we're in my taxi."
Yoongi looked around with a frown, finally putting the knife away, "Take me back to the bar," he ordered.
"Ok, listen here, Pumpkin Head," Seokjin shook his head, "We're two hours away from the bar and you already took up my whole night, your bill is high enough as it is, why don't you call someone to come pick you up?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes and pulled out his wallet from the pocket of his pants, "Don't call me Pumpkin Head again," he muttered, throwing a handful of bills on the seat between them, "Please take me back to the bar."
It's not that Seokjin was scared of Yoongi, his face was too pretty for that, but when he was told to wait outside the bar and the sound of two gunshots reached him, he was frozen, he couldn't have driven away even if he wanted to.
It's been two years now and his husband no longer has orange hair, but Seokjin still calls him that, smiling when Yoongi rolls his eyes at him.

Do I even have to say it… okay wait I do
shifter yoongi who owns and runs a tangerine farm, right next to strawberry farmer seokjin. Jin inherits the farm from his family and moves out because he’s tired of the huddle and bustle of the city. But…it turns out living in the countryside is lonely, just a lot of old people who want to talk for too long and ask him invasive questions.
seokjin just wants to meet his neighbor, the only other young person in the town- but every time he walks in the door to yoongis shop, the shifter gets so flustered by the other man’s face he shifts…
Jin’s half convinced that the cat is the actual legal owner of farm because of how the other customers act around him. Meanwhile the quiet town just knows yoongis a shifter and treats him like any other person.
Just thinking about kitty yoongi with his hat walking through town with a check in his mouth going to the bank to deposit it, the postman saying his hellos, the old lady at the corner telling him he’s got an of tangerine tarts coming in next week and if yoongi could deliver some tomorrow that would be lovely,
meanwhile jin just thinks there’s something wrong with this town. Fucking baffled why the whole town treats this cat like he’s a person.
Only one day- the cat just happens to be walking by the peir when jins doing his afternoon fishing and he hangs around? Jin feeds him bait fish and the little thing yowls when he reals in a tuna and follows him home before he scoots off to his own house making jin sad because he’s kinda lonely :( after moving here with all of his friends back in the big city.
It makes it worse when his neighbor puts a bag of tangerines in his mailbox with a small note of “thank you for the fish” and Jin’s just…completely baffled. It takes him 10 more fishing trips with the cat for him to narrow his eyes at them and be like “there’s something wrong with you”
only eventually, yoongi gets used enough to jins face that he stops shifting when he sees the other man, they end up chatting over their farm stalls and exchanging fruit. Which turns into helping jin with his tractor and then a fishing date and then a real date.
Yoongi only accidentally shifts because of seokjin one more time- when he leans in close to peck him on the cheek after their first date one second Jin’s cupping yoongis cheek and the next theyres fur under his lips and a familiar cat in his arms!
“Why didn’t you tell me?” “Because! I liked the fish!”

Yoonjin AU fanfic
Seokjin is excited to go to school.
Tumblr media
The alarm clock goes off with a loud rattle and 7-year-old Seokjin's eyes snap open, dreams and tiredness slipping away from them instantly.
He jumps out of bed, pulling on the clothes he prepared the day before, then rushes to the bathroom.
His brother, barely awake, is already there, trying to wash the sleep from his eyes. He gives Seokjin an incredulous look.
"How are you so... alive?," he mumbles. "Second grade is not that exciting, you should calm down..."
Seokjin ignores him in favor of washing his face and giving himself a wink with a finger gun in the mirror. Then, he goes for breakfast.
His mom watches in concern as he gobbles down the food, not even chewing it properly.
"Slow down, little one, before you choke!," she warns.
Seokjin nods hastily and swallows a huge bite, to his mom's horror. Before she can say anything else, he jumps up from his seat and runs up to her.
"I'm going now. See you after school, mom! I love you!"
He gives her a hug and a quick kiss and bolts out the door.
Then he runs back. He suddenly seems unsure, shifting from one foot to the other, pulling on his little shirt.
"Do I look okay?"
His mother frowns.
"Of course you do, honey. You look great. Very handsome. But why-"
"Nothing, just asking!," Seokjin says quickly. "Bye!"
And he's gone again, for real this time.
His mother can only stare after him in confusion.
"Have a nice day," she mutters even though he can't hear her.
It's unusual to see Seokjin so happy to go to school. He wasn't like this last year, but this enthusiasm is a nice change.
Seokjin is panting by the time he reaches the school building. The tiny, wilted dandelion he picked from a nearby patch of grass looks miserable in his small hand, but he holds it with determination.
He goes inside, walks down the corridor, and enters the classroom.
Some kids are already there, chattering and playing with each other. Seokjin pays no mind to them. His sole focus is on the desk in the last row.
He takes a deep breath, and approaches it.
The small boy sitting there looks up curiously when Seokjin stops in front of him.
He's little, even shorter than Seokjin. He has dark hair and dark eyes and looks a bit like a cat. Seokjin thinks that's cool.
He's also very quiet.
He's in the first grade, so he doesn't know the other kids yet, hasn't made many friends. He just sits alone in the back of the class.
Seokjin has wanted to go up to him since the first day, but only found the courage now.
He clears his throat, shuffling on his feet.
"Hi," he says to the boy.
"Hi," the boy says back, not really looking at Seokjin. He seems shy.
Seokjin's little heart wobbles as he extends his hand towards him.
"I brought this for you."
The boy's eyes widen as he looks at the dandelion on Seokjin's palm. He looks like he wants to reach for it, but then holds himself back.
"Really?," he asks, unsure.
Seokjin nods.
"Yes," he gulps. "Do you like it?"
The boy stares at the flower for a few moments. Then, carefully, he reaches out and takes it from Seokjin.
He stares at it some more in his own hand, holding it like it's something very important.
And then...
He looks up at Seokjin.
And Seokjin's heart doesn't just wobble anymore. It jumps.
Because the boy has the most prettiest smile on his face. His pink gums are showing and his eyes are turning into tiny crescent moons.
"I really like it," he says. Then, he adds: "I'm Yoongi."
Seokjin can fel his ears burning red.
"Hi Yoongi," he says. He's smiling wide too, feeling light and bubbly. "Nice to meet you!"
-------
The alarm clock goes off with a loud rattle and 37-year-old Seokjin's eyes snap open, dreams and tiredness slipping away from them instantly.
He jumps out of bed, pulling on the clothes he prepared the day before, then rushes to the bathroom.
He gets ready quickly, washing his face and giving himself a wink with a finger gun in the mirror.
He gobbles down breakfast, barely chewing it properly. He cleans the plates after that, and the other set of utensils left on the table.
He brushes his teeth, and puts the toothbrush next to the other one after he's done.
Then, he bolts out the door.
He comes back after a second to check himself in the mirror. He pulls his shirt down a little, sets his hair.
"Handsome," he concludes.
Then, he's gone for real.
He's panting by the time he reaches the school building. The colorful bouquet looks a little frazzled in his hand, but he holds it with determination.
He goes inside, walks down the corridor, and enters the teachers' room.
Some people are there already, chattering and copying papers. They greet him and he nods back with a friendly smile, but doesn't pay much attention to them.
His sole focus is on the desk in the adjacent room.
He knocks on the open door but goes in without waiting for an answer.
The man behind the table looks up at him curiously. There's a smile, barely noticeable, in the corner of his mouth and in the twinkle in his eyes.
Seokjin's heart jumps.
"Good morning, Mr Principal," he says, stopping in front of the desk. He brings forward the flowers with a theatrical flourish. "I brought these for you. I hope you'll like them."
The man rolls his eyes fondly and stands up from his seat, walking around the table.
"You shouldn't have," he mumbles, taking the bouquet from Seokjin and smelling the flowers with a soft smile. "But thank you. I love them."
Seokjin grins. He feels light and bubbly.
"I hope you'll like what I planned for dinner, too. We have to celebrate your first week as the boss!"
Yoongi looks up from the flowers.
He's still shorter than Seokjin, but he's gotten broad. His hair longer, too, his stance more sure.
He's still quiet, but when he talks, it's with confidence and respect. And he jokes around as well, makes friends of colleagues easily. They love him.
Seokjin loves him, too. Very very much. And he knows the feeling's mutual.
Yoongi's dark eyes soften as he looks at him. His gaze is tender, full of warmth. He steps closer, hand reaching out to cup Seokjin's face, and holds it like it's something very important.
And he smiles.
It's the most beautiful thing in the world. His pink gums peak out and his eyes turn into crescent moons.
He caresses Seokjin's cheek gently. His touch leaves behind a pink hue, and Seokjin can feel his ears burning.
"Can't wait," Yoongi says sweetly and Seokjin smiles.
The matching bands on their fourth finger glint in the lights.

mwahrch day 6: an angry kiss

Yoongi made it as far as the warehouse door, gleaming untouched cookware and industrial grade workstations and a hundred flitting sethands abandoned in his wake, before he heard someone call out, “Yoongi-ssi, wait!”
Yoongi didn’t wait. He shoved through the heavy door, past the dead recording light indicating filming was no longer in progress. It was easy to pretend he hadn’t heard his name among the chaos of the set change, and nobody would really need him for the next twenty minutes. Long enough for a smoke break, if he was quick about it. Taehyung had shown him the best spot for it before he’d been eliminated in the first round, and Yoongi was grateful for the secret. Privacy was an impossible thing to find on set.
Outside, the morning’s rain had finally died off, leaving misty cool and drippy puddles that reflected the cracked slate sky. Yoongi’s shoes smacked through the runoff, splattering the hems of his pants—but they were shooting everything in mediums and three-quarters, so it was fine. It wouldn’t show on camera.
He was halfway down the narrow alley that separated Building 14—where Bang’s Bonfire Kitchen filmed six days a week, eight weeks a season—from Building 7 behind it when the door clanged open again. He jumped at the noise and landed square in a puddle, a squelchy shock of cold soaking through the sole of his shoes and into his socks.
“Yoongi-ssi,” called Seokjin again, and was that a note of amusement in his voice? It was impossible to pretend Yoongi hadn’t heard him, not now that they were the only people outside, but that didn’t stop Yoongi from pressing forward and hanging a left. His desire for a smoke fizzled; at this point, he’d give anything just to avoid spending another second in the presence of Kim fucking Seokjin.
“Yah, Yoongi-ssi, don’t run off like that!”
The footsteps behind him picked up speed, smacking over wet pavement. Yoongi refused to run, but he wasn’t above playing dirty, and he certainly had no plans for any one-on-one chats. He yanked open the nearest studio door and slipped inside.
Building 7 greeted him with silence and darkness. A half-finished standing set made mock hallways out of the echoing space, and everything was lit a faint, musty grey by the watery light pouring in the upper windows. The murkiness drew him up short.
He regretted the pause a second later when the door smacked open behind him, knocking him forward. A pair of hands around his waist kept him upright, barely, and then he was nose to cheek with the person he’d been trying so hard to avoid.
“Yoongi-ssi,” said Seokjin, mouth making a perfect smile. “What are you doing in here all alone, hm?”
Yoongi forced his hands between them and shoved Seokjin back. He was still in his apron, which was so crisp and cleanly white that it seemed to glow ever so faintless in the dimness of the warehouse. His stupid hair was still in its perfect coif, and just seeing him made Yoongi boiling angry all over again.
“Have you ever heard of privacy?” he snipped.
And still Seokjin grinned at him. “Ah, I see,” he nodded. “Was your trailer not big enough? You’re so compact, though, Yoongi-ssi, surely you don’t need all this space to yourself.”
Yoongi bared his teeth and turned away. Seokjin laughed—not the bright, squeaky one but something lower, settled in his chest, which was worse.
It had been going on for weeks, seven out of the eight they had filmed so far. The constant teasing, the endless commentary, the jokes tossed around in the kitchen during their cooking challenges in some awful distraction tactic. And as if the underhanded ploys weren’t bad enough, even when he wasn’t making a misery of Yoongi’s challenge segments, he was swanning around with his perfect hair and his laughter and his immense natural talent. Kim Seokjin didn’t need to win on Bang Sihyuk’s show to prove he was the best; he did it without trying. He was certainly a hundred times better than Yoongi could ever hope to be—a better contestant and a better actor and most of all, a better cook.
Yoongi didn’t understand why Seokjin kept singling him out like this. The shoot today had been the worst—he’d been distracting and infuriating, non-stop in his needling and gloriously beautiful despite the annoyance, and Yoongi hadn’t been able to look away. He’d glimpsed all of two seconds of today’s footage, but it was all he needed to see to know he was staring like a fool while his steaks nearly burned.
“If you don’t mind,” he said, as cold and dripping as the eaves. “I would like to be alone.”
“Yoongi-yah,” said Seokjin. Yoongi prickled. Seokjin had offered familiarity back when they’d first met, before even the pre-shoot, and Yoongi had refused out of professional courtesy. Of course Seokjin didn’t harbor the same professionalism. “I really don’t understand why you don’t like me.”
Yoongi snorted. It echoed embarrassingly loudly in the hollow of the warehouse. Behind him came the sound of scuffling.
“You cooked well today,” Seokjin added, like some kind of concession, and that needled Yoongi enough to spin him around. And then he kept moving, kept pushing forward until he had Seokjin crowded against the cold warehouse wall.
“Don’t,” he hissed, finger prodding into Seokjin’s chest. “I don’t need your jokes and I don’t need your commentary and I certainly don’t need your platitudes.”
Seokjin’s eyes went wide, which was a novelty, and his mouth made a soft, shocked oh. Victory coursed through Yoongi almost as thick as his anger, to finally render him speechless.
“We all know you’re the best here,” he carried on. His finger was still fixed against Seokjin’s chest, and Seokjin could certainly have moved it aside—could have pushed Yoongi as easily as Yoongi had pushed him—but he stayed fixed in place, chest rising and falling. He was astoundingly warm in the seeping chill of the rainy day. “You could do these challenges with your eyes closed, and you can charm all the judges without batting an eyelash, and you look good doing it, and I know this must all be some kind of hilarious joke to you to be up against me of all people, but I would really, truly appreciate it if you would fucking stop.”
Yoongi stared at Seokjin, vibrating with fury, and Seokjin stared back at him. And then Seokjin’s mouth twitched with that familiar, breathtaking, infuriating smile.
“Stop what, Yoongi-ssi?” he said. “You’ll have to be more specific.”
“You—!” said Yoongi, and he grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him and then— and then—
And then, furious, Yoongi kissed him.
Seokjin made a noise against his mouth, some muffled yelp of shock. For a moment Yoongi contemplated that he might be punched, or fired, or both. And then the moment passed, and Seokjin, infuriating man, did something a hundred times more unexpected: Seokjin kissed him back.
Kissed him like he wanted it, like he welcomed it. Like he hadn’t make Yoongi’s life a living hell for seven weeks of shooting and also three weeks of pre-shoots, like two and a half months ago he hadn’t walked into the room with his flawless face and broad shoulders and stupid sense of humor and turned Yoongi’s life upside down, the absolute asshole. He kissed Yoongi like he fucking meant it.
They pulled apart panting. Yoongi glowered at his mouth, slick and tilted up in the gloom. Satisfaction was an infuriating look on him. Yoongi wanted to see more of it.
“For what it’s worth,” Seokjin said, conversational, as though Yoongi’s tongue had not just been in his mouth, “I meant it. Your searing technique was impeccable and your plating was inspired. There’s no one I’d rather be up against.” He wiggled his eyebrows and looked at Yoongi, still holding him against the wall. “Pun intended.”
Yoongi stepped back. “You are the most infuriating man I’ve ever met.”
“Good,” declared Seokjin. “I’ve been trying to get your attention. I’m glad I managed it before the finale.”
“You— What?”
“I like you quite a lot,” Seokjin shrugged. “After this all wraps, would you like to get dinner sometime? Maybe even one someone else cooks?”
“But you’re the best chef out there,” Yoongi said dumbly, and Seokjin— Well, it was hard to tell, but to Yoongi it looked almost like he had blushed.
“Ah, Yoongi-chi, you drive a hard bargain. Alright. I’ll cook for you.”
“I,” said Yoongi. He ran his tongue over his teeth—which Seokjin had been licking, he was pretty sure, about thirty seconds ago. “You like me?”
“Is that so surprising?”
Alarmingly so, yes. Yoongi blinked at him, and blinked again. His phone dinged in his pocket—they were due back in hair and makeup by now, probably. He swallowed and took another step back. It was surprisingly difficult to put space between them.
“Alright,” he said after a moment. “Loser has to cook.”
Seokjin grinned—big, broad, awful. Glorious. Yoongi narrowed his eyes—he wasn’t going to let that distract him. Not with dinner on the line.
“Okay,” Seokjin agreed. “It’s a date.”

The heat bubbles up inside Yoongi like a shaken soda can on a hot summer’s day. It burns his throat as it simmers up to his face turning his cheeks a rosy pink. But Yoongi waits, as you do, for the pressure to dissipate, for it to fizzle out into something soft. It’s a nice distraction, focusing on the feeling bubbling in his chest instead of the corpse that’s been haunting him for the past few months.
